- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simon Show on seven w R.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike,
- 0:10Speaker 2: how you doing? Good morning, Mark, Hey down there in Florida.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Is is it cold now?
- 0:15Speaker 1: I keep hearing, Well, it was the last couple of days.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Right now it's seventy three, But the last couple of
- 0:22Speaker 1: days was cold. And I've fallen into that ex New
- 0:26Speaker 1: Yorker thing where if it goes blow seventy, I'm chilly.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Now. Yeah, when you guys say cold, what are you
- 0:31Speaker 2: talking about? Sixty?
- 0:34Speaker 1: It was forty yesterday morning when I woke up forty
- 0:38Speaker 1: five ish, and uh it, you know, warms up pretty well, but.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Once I get that chill, Yeah, that's terrible, sir. You're right, yeah, anyway,
- 0:47Speaker 2: you know, uh, what do you want to what do
- 0:51Speaker 2: you want to?
- 0:53Speaker 1: No, you were mentioning about how the Democrats, you know, constantly,
- 0:56Speaker 1: you know, change their positions, and it's absolutely right, you know,
- 0:58Speaker 1: because they're interested in winning whatever victory it is, whether
- 1:03Speaker 1: it's a little one or a big one, they'll take it.
- 1:05Speaker 1: The Republicans can't be bothered, you know. And to illustrate that,
- 1:09Speaker 1: for the last two days now, you said you know
- 1:11Speaker 1: Trump had a ninety minute press conference yesterday. You spoke
- 1:13Speaker 1: for an hour at Davos, he said, taking questions, he
- 1:16Speaker 1: talks about yes, presses on Air Force one, and Republican
- 1:21Speaker 1: pundits and calmnists will say he doesn't get the message out.
- 1:24Speaker 1: He just doesn't get the message out. I'm going, I
- 1:26Speaker 1: don't understand. What are they hearing that I'm hearing twenty
- 1:30Speaker 1: four hours a day virtually.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Well, you know, for most Americans, they're not following this
- 1:35Speaker 2: all day and night. They were just watching the evening
- 1:37Speaker 2: news or whatever, and the message is never put there.
- 1:40Speaker 2: But you're right, but they they got to figure out
- 1:43Speaker 2: a way around it. That's why I like the idea
- 1:44Speaker 2: of the super Bowl commercial with Obama talking about how
- 1:47Speaker 2: we have to send ice into the cities and round
- 1:49Speaker 2: people up. And I have appointed Tom Holman to run this.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Let's go to Ron in Pittsburgh. Ron, how you doing, am?
- 1:56Speaker 3: I'm sure I know it's Mourner.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Hey, I did call you yesterday and I forgot to
- 2:02Speaker 3: give you the name of my band for the President.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Very nice guy, but he's got one of these garage
- 2:09Speaker 2: bands he's trying to promote.
- 2:10Speaker 3: No, I don't for Gliver with veterans. The names Honkey
- 2:14Speaker 3: Talk Heroes were on Facebook.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Wait, what's the name the Honkey Talk heroes? Or go
- 2:20Speaker 4: the Honky Talk heroes? Yes, sir god, I like to
- 2:24Speaker 4: know the names you rejected. That's the one you choose.
- 2:27Speaker 4: What names? What came in second place? For a name?
- 2:32Speaker 3: Love comes in spurts?
- 2:33Speaker 4: I don't know? Hey, sorry, who can play better than
- 2:37Speaker 4: your name?
- 2:39Speaker 3: Hey, cauld I we do.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Hey?
- 2:40Speaker 3: Could I ask you a nice question?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Hey?
- 2:42Speaker 3: Don't you believe they're all these democrats are all just sellouts?
- 2:46Speaker 3: I think I think, I think I just sold our
- 2:48Speaker 3: country out for the for the cash. Hey, but one
- 2:51Speaker 3: other questions? One of the questions, Okay, can you ask
- 2:55Speaker 3: his Trump's upper President Trump's upper flat? Around? Is the
- 2:58Speaker 3: world flat?
- 3:01Speaker 4: You know?
- 3:01Speaker 2: Think that day drinking is not a good thing?
- 3:05Speaker 3: I'm not drinking?
- 3:07Speaker 2: What is that happy hour there at ten in the
- 3:08Speaker 2: morning in Pittsburgh? Anyway? Thanks for calling. Let's go to
- 3:12Speaker 2: uh Andrew and Queen's Andrew? How you doing? Yes, yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 2: we didn't wake you.
- 3:17Speaker 5: What about that there was a black hole there?
- 3:19Speaker 2: Oh? All right, let's go Andrew.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I wanted to ask you. I'd recall I
- 3:30Speaker 5: thought decades ago during protests they used water cannons. Is
- 3:37Speaker 5: their problem using water cannons nowadays?
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you mean on those left wing wacos in Minnesota, Yeah, or.
- 3:46Speaker 5: Wherever, you know, the pro Hamas demonstrations and.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Well, you know, they used to use those water cannons
- 3:53Speaker 2: on protesters. Now, those were good protesters back then. This
- 3:57Speaker 2: is in the South, in the early sixties, the canon
- 4:00Speaker 2: the days they were racist, protesting against black students and
- 4:05Speaker 2: all that. So, but it's still it looked, it looked
- 4:09Speaker 2: kind of it didn't look good on TV. It looked
- 4:10Speaker 2: kind of cruel. Though it was like a big fire hose,
- 4:12Speaker 2: water cannons on it. It was effective. But now they
- 4:15Speaker 2: use that pepper spray and mace. You've seen that on
- 4:18Speaker 2: a lot of videos of protesters screaming and yelling and
- 4:22Speaker 2: getting really really really bad with ice agents, and the
- 4:25Speaker 2: ice agent finally, after trying to put up with a
- 4:27Speaker 2: free minutes, just take out this mace thing and just
- 4:30Speaker 2: spray them in the face. One more call. Let's go
- 4:33Speaker 2: to Mike and Hawthorne. Mike, how you doing?
- 4:35Speaker 5: Yeah, Mark, I just want to know when the New
- 4:37Speaker 5: York City employee's going to strike, is Donnie going to
- 4:41Speaker 5: be walking the picket line with them.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Well, I don't know. We'll get to that in the
- 4:43Speaker 2: next hour. This nursing strike, Mom Donnie is out there
- 4:46Speaker 2: on the picket line. He's out there with the nurses.
- 4:48Speaker 2: You're not supposed to do that if you're the mayor
- 4:51Speaker 2: the reason this strike is dragging on. Usually it's the mayor, governor,
- 4:57Speaker 2: you know, somebody like that will get everybody in the
- 4:59Speaker 2: room and be the moderator and work out a settlement.
- 5:03Speaker 2: The problem is Mom Donnie, immediately, being a novice, not
- 5:07Speaker 2: knowing how to do a management job, went right out
- 5:09Speaker 2: and started picketing with the nurses, which kind of makes
- 5:13Speaker 2: him unfit to be the honest broker in the middle.
- 5:17Speaker 2: He's supposed to remain in the middle and try to negotiate,
- 5:20Speaker 2: not supposed to take a side that early. And then
- 5:23Speaker 2: he brought in Bernie Sanders of old people. Well, we'll
- 5:26Speaker 2: get to that in the next hour. We've got a
- 5:27Speaker 2: lot to get to. Hey, we'll talk to the Dean himself,
- 5:30Speaker 2: the best political analyst, Ed Rollins, about all of this
- 5:34Speaker 2: stuff and what's going to happen in the midterms and more.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Coming up on seven to ten. Wor
