- 0:10Speaker 1: Wait in truance, did I true this road?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Up?
- 0:14Speaker 3: A check?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Both?
- 0:15Speaker 1: Good us? Wait the audults, the.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Room, thank you, Hey, everybody, Welcome to Conspiracy the Show.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm your host, Adam Todd Brown joining me his co
- 0:39Speaker 1: host this week kind of expands back, how's it going, man.
- 0:41Speaker 3: We're working hard, man. We're podcasting for you, even though
- 0:44Speaker 3: the world already ended in twenty twelve, as you all remember.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it has been a wrap for almost fifteen
- 0:51Speaker 1: years now, but here we are still persevering.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I was just down at the Stager Brothers with a shotgun,
- 0:56Speaker 3: trying to get the last of the dried lentils off
- 0:59Speaker 3: the shelf.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I've been thinking for the longest time and saying on
- 1:03Speaker 1: the podcast that I have covered every episode of the
- 1:07Speaker 1: esteemed television series Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura on this podcast,
- 1:12Speaker 1: and I was delighted to find recently that I'm actually
- 1:15Speaker 1: wrong about that. There are still a handful of episodes
- 1:19Speaker 1: that I have not covered. I figure that out because
- 1:23Speaker 1: we're doing a series called the Fifty States of Conspiracy,
- 1:25Speaker 1: where I'm trying to do conspiracy theories related to each
- 1:29Speaker 1: state with someone who is from that state. We just
- 1:32Speaker 1: covered Kentucky because someone from Kentucky was available. I wanted
- 1:36Speaker 1: to mention the Jesse Venture conspiracy theory episode called Apocalypse
- 1:42Speaker 1: twenty twelve, and I thought we had covered that on
- 1:45Speaker 1: this show, and we have not, because on that episode
- 1:49Speaker 1: they talk about this series of caves that are under
- 1:52Speaker 1: the state of Kentucky, and that seemed like a good
- 1:54Speaker 1: tie into talking about Kentucky conspiracy theories. And that's when
- 1:58Speaker 1: I realized we haven't even covered that episode. So we're
- 2:01Speaker 1: going to cover it today along with another episode from
- 2:04Speaker 1: season one that we have not covered. Connor, did you
- 2:06Speaker 1: have any experience with this show before?
- 2:09Speaker 3: I didn't, and I was delighted because it harkens back
- 2:13Speaker 3: to something that is now completely dead, which is like
- 2:16Speaker 3: television with the bed of music and the talking heads,
- 2:20Speaker 3: with the out of context comments and the coming up
- 2:24Speaker 3: and the thing that's coming up is never as interesting
- 2:27Speaker 3: as it's made out to be like it is. I
- 2:29Speaker 3: love television. It doesn't exist like this anymore. I mean,
- 2:31Speaker 3: the best are going to get as a well edited
- 2:33Speaker 3: YouTube video. So to see a guy like Jesse Ventro
- 2:35Speaker 3: with a great voice, a great personality, just chopping it
- 2:39Speaker 3: up about some of his favorite conspiracy theories. Well, you know,
- 2:42Speaker 3: the best of the twenty tens editing department has the
- 2:45Speaker 3: offer is backing them up. It was just a joy.
- 2:48Speaker 3: It really brought me back, especially the twenty twelve stuff.
- 2:50Speaker 3: My history teacher, mister Kenny told us all about that
- 2:53Speaker 3: my calendar thing when I was in eighth grade and
- 2:56Speaker 3: it was like two thousand and six or something. My
- 2:58Speaker 3: mind was blown. I was like, fucking I believe that
- 3:02Speaker 3: shit was going to happen for like a good five years.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I think a lot of people did. I mean, the
- 3:07Speaker 1: Mayan calendar does end.
- 3:08Speaker 3: When it ends, it is a super accurate calendar that
- 3:11Speaker 3: they made a long time ago. Like that is crazy,
- 3:14Speaker 3: that is impressive.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Who knows, But that's one of the episodes we're covering.
- 3:18Speaker 1: We're also covering the global warming episode. Now, I will
- 3:21Speaker 1: admit up front, I did realize almost right away the
- 3:25Speaker 1: reason why we've never covered either of these episodes is
- 3:28Speaker 1: because none of the shit in any of these episodes
- 3:30Speaker 1: actually happens. Connor just mentioned twenty twelve. The entire premise
- 3:34Speaker 1: of one of the episodes that we're going to cover,
- 3:37Speaker 1: the episode called Apocalypse twenty twelve, is that a big
- 3:40Speaker 1: solar flare event is going to essentially not destroy the world,
- 3:45Speaker 1: but destroy it for a lot of us.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Well, you know, it is something that could happen like
- 3:48Speaker 3: an EMP type effect where it could try electronic like
- 3:51Speaker 3: it could take out the power grid of you know,
- 3:54Speaker 3: North America. Certainly if it did happen, I think they're
- 3:57Speaker 3: really there was no connective tissue whatsoever between solar flares,
- 4:02Speaker 3: dangers and actually in the world ending in twenty twelve.
- 4:05Speaker 3: There was no That was just like something they wanted
- 4:07Speaker 3: to happen. That was just their like narrative they put
- 4:10Speaker 3: together for the show.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Yeah, to explain things that have been built years and
- 4:16Speaker 1: years and years prior. Also, which is an interesting take,
- 4:20Speaker 1: which would kind of imply that people had known the
- 4:22Speaker 1: world was going to end in twenty twelve for a
- 4:24Speaker 1: long long time, because then you really are just basing
- 4:27Speaker 1: it on the Mayan calendar.
- 4:28Speaker 3: But that's what I love about it. It's TV. It's like,
- 4:31Speaker 3: let's throw apocalyptic bunkers the Mayan calendar and what the
- 4:35Speaker 3: hell solar flares. We'll put that in the pot, we'll
- 4:37Speaker 3: stir it up and we'll make some good TV, you know.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah, And before we even get there, we get the
- 4:42Speaker 1: Global Warming episode. Which that's the thing about jesse Ventura.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Sometimes these episodes skew into me and the former governor
- 4:52Speaker 1: disagree in a little bit.
- 4:54Speaker 3: It's a little kind of a slight that you called
- 4:56Speaker 3: in the former governor. Most people just call them the
- 4:58Speaker 3: governor Adam Oh.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Sure, sure, sure, Well, I mean he's not governor of
- 5:02Speaker 1: Minnesota now, not yet. But I did see a video
- 5:06Speaker 1: recently where he's like, maybe I'll run again.
- 5:11Speaker 3: That's pretty good, man.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I would love it. I would love jesse Ventura re
- 5:16Speaker 1: entering the chat when it's like Jerry.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Brown running again in California, you know, coming back.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Because the video I just saw it was
- 5:24Speaker 1: jesse Ventura being like, this is a third world country
- 5:28Speaker 1: now because of Ice. ICE is a paramilitary unit that
- 5:32Speaker 1: answers to the president. That's what they do in third
- 5:34Speaker 1: world countries. We're a third world country now. So at
- 5:37Speaker 1: least he's on the right side of history when it
- 5:38Speaker 1: comes to shit like that.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Good point. It's a good point.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And so I am going to re release some of
- 5:45Speaker 1: the jesse Ventura episodes we've done because when I keep
- 5:49Speaker 1: saying we've covered all of it, what I actually mean
- 5:51Speaker 1: is we covered all of the highly controversial second season
- 5:56Speaker 1: of Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura, which to this day
- 6:00Speaker 1: is unavailable on streaming. You can't buy the episodes. When
- 6:05Speaker 1: they go up on YouTube, they end up getting taken down.
- 6:08Speaker 1: They run Vimeo for a while. You found them on
- 6:11Speaker 1: what service?
- 6:12Speaker 3: I don't even want to share four five six movies
- 6:14Speaker 3: dot NL.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yeah, we probably shouldn't say, because when we covered it,
- 6:20Speaker 1: I linked to each episode and I went back and
- 6:22Speaker 1: checked and all those links are dead.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Now, well it's taken take down the Mighty pirate ship,
- 6:27Speaker 3: that is four five six movies dot NL. Then, yeah,
- 6:30Speaker 3: there's nothing we could do to keep the truth out there.
- 6:32Speaker 1: But I did cover that whole season with Olivia Hydar,
- 6:37Speaker 1: comedian and retired podcaster, and most of those were behind
- 6:42Speaker 1: the paywalls. So to celebrate our return to the Jesse
- 6:46Speaker 1: Ventura series, I'm gonna put those out publicly along with
- 6:50Speaker 1: these episodes I'm doing with Connor. So you got a
- 6:53Speaker 1: lot of shit to listen to do it And as
- 6:55Speaker 1: for us, we should talk about S one e three
- 6:59Speaker 1: global Warming. This is the first of the lost episodes
- 7:02Speaker 1: that I somehow forgot to cover again, probably because none
- 7:06Speaker 1: of this shit happened.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I mean, I think the climate changed. It didn't. It
- 7:09Speaker 3: didn't exactly go how al Gore said it was going
- 7:12Speaker 3: to go. But you know, yeah, ice caps are melting,
- 7:14Speaker 3: the hurricanes are becoming more frequent.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I more mean the stuff they're worried about in this episode.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the One World you gotta bring the They
- 7:24Speaker 3: gotta bring the One World government into it. You know,
- 7:26Speaker 3: melting ice caps that's not sexy enough. You need globalists, globalists.
- 7:30Speaker 1: This is one of those episodes where I feel like,
- 7:34Speaker 1: if it was ninety minutes long, we'd be talking about
- 7:38Speaker 1: the Jews by the Yeah, probably because they don't ever
- 7:43Speaker 1: really make the connection between oh, well, this rich guy's
- 7:47Speaker 1: out here selling carbon credits, and it's like and and
- 7:50Speaker 1: they're like, and he's going to enslave the world. Okay,
- 7:54Speaker 1: explain what do you mean? And they don't really. They
- 7:58Speaker 1: just kind of sell the idea that, well, this guy's
- 8:01Speaker 1: getting rich off global warming.
- 8:03Speaker 3: It's like, what a fantastic racket carbon credit. It's like, oh, yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 3: I planted a tree. Don't worry about it. It's down
- 8:09Speaker 3: in South America. I totally planted so many trees. You're good.
- 8:13Speaker 3: You can your f one fifty with the fucking straight
- 8:17Speaker 3: pipes is free to roam the streets guilt free.
- 8:21Speaker 1: And they describe carbon credits in this episode as a
- 8:24Speaker 1: license to pollute, and that actually seems kind of accurate.
- 8:27Speaker 3: That's pretty much exactly what they are.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, And so because the way it works, if
- 8:32Speaker 1: you are a big company that wants to do a
- 8:36Speaker 1: little pollutant, you can go to another company that has
- 8:41Speaker 1: earned credits for doing environmentally good things and buy one
- 8:46Speaker 1: of those credits from them, which then allows you to
- 8:50Speaker 1: pollute a little more.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Every time you buy one, they go and wipe oil
- 8:53Speaker 3: off of a baby penguin.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You know, it is a wild system. I didn't really
- 8:58Speaker 1: look into is this a thing it's still going right now?
- 9:02Speaker 3: I don't know. I think that was kind I think
- 9:04Speaker 3: it kind of fizzled out. I haven't heard about it.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Was It really took me back to hear about them
- 9:08Speaker 3: because I had It's like, I think my mom bought
- 9:10Speaker 3: something like two thousand and seven or something like. I
- 9:13Speaker 3: have not heard anyone talk about carbon credits since, like
- 9:17Speaker 3: the late Bush administration.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I will say there is, as of twenty twenty five,
- 9:21Speaker 1: a study on nature dot com carbon credits are failing
- 9:25Speaker 1: to help with climate change.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Well, that's nature dot com. I mean, that's the.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Fucking fuck do they know about nature?
- 9:31Speaker 3: Now? I was about to say, that's the central hub
- 9:33Speaker 3: of nature knowledge in commerce.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean seems like they would probably know. Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 1: there's a National Institute of Health. Carbon credits are failing
- 9:42Speaker 1: to help with climate change. That's probably where it came
- 9:45Speaker 1: from first, which that's not surprising. It doesn't really stand
- 9:50Speaker 1: to reason that letting someone pollute just because someone else
- 9:55Speaker 1: is polluting less. I don't know how that would work
- 9:58Speaker 1: to me.
- 9:58Speaker 3: It was always framed in terms of like planting trees, like, Okay,
- 10:01Speaker 3: you're gonna put sea two in the atmosphere, We're gonna
- 10:03Speaker 3: plant trees, which takes you two out of the atmosphere,
- 10:05Speaker 3: which that sort of makes sense. But I just there's
- 10:09Speaker 3: I know too much about capitalism. There's no fucking way
- 10:11Speaker 3: they're doing that. They're absolutely telling you that they're doing that,
- 10:16Speaker 3: and they're taking all the tree planting money and they're
- 10:18Speaker 3: spending it on cocon hookers. That's how it's gone since
- 10:20Speaker 3: the beginning of time.
- 10:21Speaker 1: And I think this episode kind of undermines itself or
- 10:25Speaker 1: doesn't do itself any favors, because that part alone is
- 10:30Speaker 1: interesting enough. Just talking about the carbon credits in the
- 10:34Speaker 1: way people are profiting off of it and whether it's
- 10:37Speaker 1: actually gonna help or not, that feels like enough of
- 10:40Speaker 1: a scam without it needing to be. Oh. Also, they're
- 10:43Speaker 1: going to put a one world government in place and
- 10:46Speaker 1: enslave us all. They don't ever get to explain in that.
- 10:49Speaker 1: But the carbon credits shit is interesting enough. They should
- 10:52Speaker 1: have just stopped there. But that's not what I'm show.
- 10:54Speaker 1: This is.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Yeah, they want to They got a little dramatic with it.
- 10:57Speaker 3: You're right, Well, it's similar to the twenty twelve thing.
- 11:00Speaker 3: They're like, there's gonna be a solar flare. According to
- 11:03Speaker 3: superstitious nonsense. This guy's important and he has a lot
- 11:06Speaker 3: of money. He must be trying to rule the world.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Like he might just be trying to get more money.
- 11:09Speaker 3: He might be trying to get more coke, more hookers.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the thing. A lot of this boils down to, oh, well,
- 11:14Speaker 1: they're just doing this for money. It's like, well, that's
- 11:16Speaker 1: why we fight our wars is for money. That's usually
- 11:20Speaker 1: just people wanting to get rich.
- 11:22Speaker 3: That's why we poison the environment in the first place. Exactly,
- 11:25Speaker 3: it's a big business. And if me and Adam could
- 11:28Speaker 3: figure out a way to dumb nuclear waste it underneath preschools.
- 11:31Speaker 3: You think we'd be sitting here talking to you about
- 11:33Speaker 3: Jesse Ventura really absolutely not. We'd be a boa in
- 11:37Speaker 3: West Hollywood to join a couple of states.
- 11:40Speaker 1: And weirdly, he means Bank of America.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Eat Fucky, eating him in front of the poor people
- 11:46Speaker 3: getting over Jeffees goddamn.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Right. So, this episode, the Global Warming Conspiracy it's called,
- 11:53Speaker 1: starts with Jesse venture drive into a warehouse to talk
- 11:58Speaker 1: to some dude who promises to blow the lips off
- 12:00Speaker 1: the global warming conspiracy.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Right here is why I love television because there's absolutely
- 12:05Speaker 3: no reason for this conversation to take place in the
- 12:07Speaker 3: warehouse except for that it's excellent set dressing.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Yeah, that is a hallmark of this show. There's so
- 12:13Speaker 1: many times where they're like, we're meeting in a secluded location.
- 12:17Speaker 1: It's like you're bringing cameras and putting it on TV. Yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 1: what are you hiding from?
- 12:24Speaker 3: You think like some guy the birdmank Starbucks is like
- 12:27Speaker 3: really itching to you know, take you down.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and again you're putting the conversation on TV. It
- 12:33Speaker 1: doesn't matter if people over here you saying it. It's
- 12:36Speaker 1: just going on the air anyway. But they do that
- 12:39Speaker 1: every time. They're like, we had to meet in this
- 12:41Speaker 1: remote section of Alaska, and it's like you just wanted
- 12:44Speaker 1: to go to Alaska.
- 12:45Speaker 3: I love it when they manufacture tension completely transparently. It's
- 12:49Speaker 3: it works on me every day. So then until like
- 12:51Speaker 3: figure about it later, I'm like, that was fucking stupid.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Also, this bombed out factory that they're meeting at am
- 12:57Speaker 1: I correct, it's in San Francisco. It sounds like he's
- 13:00Speaker 1: in San Francisco.
- 13:01Speaker 3: I don't recall the city, which.
- 13:03Speaker 1: At that point just go to like a ross.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Yeah that's a bombedo factory.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Yeah, those place is enough chaos, especially in San Francisco.
- 13:13Speaker 1: No one's going to notice you. So this guy starts off.
- 13:17Speaker 1: This guy he meets with starts off by saying global
- 13:19Speaker 1: warmings reel. So that makes me feel a little bit better.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Noel Shepherd is his name, investigative journalist.
- 13:26Speaker 3: His name Sheppard because anyone who follows him as a Sheep, they.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Like Conner mentioned, are speaking in a location that they're
- 13:35Speaker 1: in for absolutely no reason. There's nothing secluded about it.
- 13:38Speaker 1: They're filming, it's just drama. He says, Yes, stopping pollution
- 13:42Speaker 1: is a good thing, but that isn't what the people
- 13:45Speaker 1: he wants Jesse to look into are about. They just
- 13:48Speaker 1: want to control the population, and that all that talk
- 13:51Speaker 1: is a huge scam, a polluter's ponzi scheme is what
- 13:55Speaker 1: they call carbon credits. And maybe, but it still doesn't
- 13:59Speaker 1: explain how they're going to enslave the world.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I would think that if any of this were true,
- 14:04Speaker 3: al Gore would be much more powerful than he is.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think that also played into why we
- 14:10Speaker 1: never covered this episode, because it does position al Gore
- 14:15Speaker 1: as the guy who's going to be the kingpin of
- 14:17Speaker 1: all this. He's going to be like the face of
- 14:19Speaker 1: this one world government that is going to take us
- 14:22Speaker 1: all over by way of stoking fears about climate change.
- 14:25Speaker 1: It's like, I haven't seen al Gore in ten years.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I was about to say, I think if al Gore
- 14:30Speaker 3: called up MS NOW and he's like, hey, I got
- 14:32Speaker 3: a big scoop can you give me on the air,
- 14:34Speaker 3: they'd be like, oh man, we're just we're books solid.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I Oh wow, I mean, this is it's a tough month, man.
- 14:42Speaker 3: I'm sorry. Maybe CNN, you know, maybe they want to
- 14:45Speaker 3: hear about it. He's also Ran. Literally, he's a literal
- 14:48Speaker 3: definition of it. Also, he's the biggest also Ran of
- 14:51Speaker 3: all time.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and I mean even if this was his plan
- 14:56Speaker 1: back then, seems like it didn't work because, like you said,
- 14:59Speaker 1: al Gore is just not a factor in the world
- 15:02Speaker 1: right now.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I mean, hey, I bought the Inconvenient Truth DVD when
- 15:07Speaker 3: I was twelve, you know, I mean like he sold
- 15:10Speaker 3: some sort of DVDs in eco friendly paper packaging.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I saw it in theaters. Wow, weird. Must have been electric.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you could cut the tension with a knife.
- 15:21Speaker 1: It was electric in there for sure. So roundtable time,
- 15:25Speaker 1: there's one of these. Every episode, Jesse will go meet
- 15:28Speaker 1: with someone who will tell him the premise of the episode.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Then he goes back has a round table with his
- 15:33Speaker 1: team of reporters and investigators, including June Sarpong.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Cool name, really cool name, cool name.
- 15:42Speaker 1: She's cute as a button. She does a lot of
- 15:45Speaker 1: the legwork on these shows. She goes out. She goes
- 15:48Speaker 1: to the really remote locations to interview people.
- 15:51Speaker 3: The warehouses in Sacramento.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Well, case in point. She's going to a well small
- 15:58Speaker 1: town on the outskirts of civilization to meet with this
- 16:03Speaker 1: person she's about to talk to. Am I crazy or
- 16:05Speaker 1: just being a town suggests that you are still in civilization?
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah? This is again more like manufactured. You know, you
- 16:13Speaker 3: could be like one of the only I don't know.
- 16:14Speaker 3: It's it's just fake, fake drama.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Yeah, this person's probably in North Dakota.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Yeah, really, like they're not an Antarctica. You know.
- 16:24Speaker 1: She's meeting with a climate scientist who doesn't want to
- 16:27Speaker 1: be named. They think global warming is real, but that
- 16:30Speaker 1: it's the Sun that causes it, and that they're blaming
- 16:33Speaker 1: CO two so they can use it to control us.
- 16:37Speaker 1: And that is aside from the control us thing, because
- 16:42Speaker 1: I need more details there. That's the kind of conspiracy
- 16:44Speaker 1: I could get behind that. Oh well, actually global warming
- 16:48Speaker 1: is real, but it's the sun and we can't do
- 16:49Speaker 1: shit about it. But there are these people who are
- 16:52Speaker 1: trying to profit off it by blaming something else. I
- 16:55Speaker 1: could get behind that all day.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just turning a natural phenomenon into suburban white guilt.
- 17:00Speaker 3: You know they've been doing that forever.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Yeah, But the idea that global warming is not happening.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Fucking something's happening.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Because people when inconvenient truth came out, people would just
- 17:09Speaker 3: flagulate themselves with loathing because they had like thrown away
- 17:14Speaker 3: an aluminum can once in nineteen ninety nine, you know,
- 17:18Speaker 3: like people fucking hate I was wonder. I was like,
- 17:20Speaker 3: oh God, I'm destroying the earth because I ate a hamburger.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a powerful documentary. Alex Piper is one
- 17:29Speaker 1: of the other investigators on this team. He's going to
- 17:32Speaker 1: meet an MIT climate scientist, doctor Richard Lindon, who talks
- 17:36Speaker 1: about how scientists who speak out about global warming in
- 17:40Speaker 1: a way that doesn't conform to the rest of science
- 17:43Speaker 1: they get bullied, which I don't doubt that that's true.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I know there is. I mean, you see that kind
- 17:49Speaker 1: of thing in every field. There's a bunch of engineers
- 17:52Speaker 1: who will insist that what happened on nine to eleven
- 17:57Speaker 1: was had to be like a controlled explosion because of
- 18:00Speaker 1: all the things they know about engineering.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Can melt steel beams.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Yeah, there's an actual database of engineers who have signed
- 18:08Speaker 1: a fucking thing saying no, we agree with that theory.
- 18:11Speaker 1: But then there's a whole bunch of other engineers who say, no,
- 18:15Speaker 1: it's it's this thing and I don't know.
- 18:18Speaker 3: And there's and there's and there's zero engineers that have
- 18:20Speaker 3: any idea about building seven, but continue, Yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 1: So I don't know. All that tells me is that
- 18:26Speaker 1: there are people who disagree.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I believe that there's like actual, legitimate,
- 18:31Speaker 3: contentious debate about the veracity of these things. And that
- 18:34Speaker 3: makes sense to me that you know, that is a
- 18:36Speaker 3: very it's a very large question. Why is the entire
- 18:40Speaker 3: earth getting warmer? Like? That's there's a lot of fucking
- 18:43Speaker 3: variables there.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and the idea that scientists who speak out and say, oh,
- 18:49Speaker 1: maybe global warming is caused by something else. What do
- 18:52Speaker 1: you mean by bully? Are they bullied or are people
- 18:55Speaker 1: questioning them?
- 18:56Speaker 3: Are you a cry bully where you like to push
- 18:58Speaker 3: people around and as soon and so pushes you around,
- 19:00Speaker 3: it's the most offensive, awful thing that's ever happened.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Is it actual bullying or is it just oh well,
- 19:08Speaker 1: if you say it's a different thing, someone's gonna come
- 19:10Speaker 1: out and tell you you're wrong.
- 19:12Speaker 3: There's definitely a few contrarians in there that just want
- 19:14Speaker 3: to be the fucking cool guy who's will Actually it's
- 19:18Speaker 3: solar flares, So pretty dumb of you not to know that.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it still doesn't sell me on the idea that
- 19:26Speaker 1: this is a one world government plot. Anytime I hear
- 19:28Speaker 1: one world government it always feels like it's building up
- 19:31Speaker 1: to the Jews.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Well, and people still can't even say the banking families.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I'll give you the banking families, Like, yeah, they have
- 19:39Speaker 3: a lot of money. It's weird, but who knows what
- 19:42Speaker 3: you're doing with it. It's a good question.
- 19:43Speaker 1: That's a perfectly reasonable thing to talk about, because families
- 19:47Speaker 1: in general shouldn't have that much money. You should have
- 19:50Speaker 1: to give some of that shit up.
- 19:51Speaker 3: There's family real estate businesses that are worth like a
- 19:53Speaker 3: fucking hundreds of millions of dollars that are like obscene,
- 19:56Speaker 3: you know.
- 19:57Speaker 1: So al Gore comes up a lot as one of
- 20:00Speaker 1: the people getting rich off global warming, which, yeah, that
- 20:04Speaker 1: was al Gore's whole gig after he lost in two thousand.
- 20:08Speaker 1: He's not doing it for free, so that's not that's surprising.
- 20:11Speaker 1: They talk about some of the global warming products he's
- 20:15Speaker 1: an investor in. They bring up the Horror Corporation, the
- 20:18Speaker 1: CEO of that firm agrees to talk to June Sarpong,
- 20:22Speaker 1: but what he doesn't realize is that Jesse Ventura is
- 20:26Speaker 1: waiting in the wings. He hears this guy say his
- 20:29Speaker 1: company isn't profiting off of global warming and then says
- 20:33Speaker 1: there's no direct relationship with al Gore, and Jesse kicks
- 20:37Speaker 1: in the fucking door. He has no relation to al Gore?
- 20:42Speaker 1: Why don't you tell that to me? And the guy does.
- 20:45Speaker 1: The guy does. He's like, yeah, there's no like he
- 20:47Speaker 1: might invest, but so what that's this show? It's usually
- 20:51Speaker 1: just Jesse Ventura walking in the room and being like,
- 20:54Speaker 1: tell me what I want to know. No, I'm not
- 20:58Speaker 1: gonna and he's just like all right, then leaves.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Well you got a Jesse venture. I mean he's just
- 21:03Speaker 3: at the body venture. He's how tall is he six
- 21:05Speaker 3: five or something? He's you got to respect this guy
- 21:07Speaker 3: standing on business. I would be like, yeah, actually I would, Yes, sir, it.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Was yeah, I mean he is. He's an intimidating figure
- 21:15Speaker 1: but also kind of funny, Like I wouldn't not laugh
- 21:19Speaker 1: if I was on the receiving end of a Jesse
- 21:22Speaker 1: Ventura like surprise interview.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I would get the nervous pables. You're right. Yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 3: the voice, the voice alone is fucking fantastic.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Yeah, because what's he gonna do beat your ass? Probably not,
- 21:35Speaker 1: and if he does, he'd just sue him for money.
- 21:37Speaker 1: He's not the government anymore. He's just a dude.
- 21:40Speaker 3: So that's what I'll saying. You're not the government anymore, Jesse.
- 21:44Speaker 1: He sure thinks having been a governor just gets him
- 21:48Speaker 1: carte blanche access to anything in the United States.
- 21:51Speaker 3: It should not for every governor, just for him specifically.
- 21:55Speaker 1: But Jesse hits him with a bunch of tough questions,
- 21:58Speaker 1: gets a bunch of no comment answers in return. But
- 22:01Speaker 1: it doesn't matter, because Jesse thinks, if this is a conspiracy,
- 22:05Speaker 1: there has to be someone scarier than al Gore involved,
- 22:08Speaker 1: and not a scary guy. Yeah, that I agree with,
- 22:11Speaker 1: kind of a.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Lumpy chif from Tennessee. He's not scaring nobody. I mean,
- 22:15Speaker 3: I guess you did scare us all.
- 22:16Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, but not because of him.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Not because of his his force of personality.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Yeah, if al Gore tried to take over the world,
- 22:24Speaker 1: I feel like we would just beat the shit out
- 22:27Speaker 1: of him, like, yeah, pull him aside. Pommel him like.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Tenth graders would though, Like it wouldn't even be the
- 22:34Speaker 3: tough guys. It'd be like when Kat Williams gets knocked out.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, like in Step Brothers when Will Ferrell has
- 22:40Speaker 1: to lick the white dog poop. We do that to
- 22:42Speaker 1: Al Gore. So Alex Piper, he talks to some British
- 22:45Speaker 1: bloke named Sir Lord Alex Cockleston upon Shire the Fourth
- 22:49Speaker 1: or some shit, and he tells Alex that your real
- 22:52Speaker 1: demon is guy named Maurice Strong.
- 22:54Speaker 3: One of my favorite porn stars.
- 22:56Speaker 1: That is a solid name because you could also shorten
- 22:59Speaker 1: it to most.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Yeah that's good. Yeah, yeah, those a hell of a weapon.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Yeah. He is the world's leading environmentalist, has worked with
- 23:08Speaker 1: the UN on the issue for a long time, very
- 23:11Speaker 1: very very long time, and this is who the show
- 23:14Speaker 1: blames as being the head of the conspiracy. They called
- 23:18Speaker 1: the godfather of the environmental movement. Again once the when
- 23:22Speaker 1: the UN comes up, I'm also like, go on, tell
- 23:25Speaker 1: me about the Jews. Let's hear it.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah, come on out with it.
- 23:29Speaker 1: It feels like that's where this is probably headed, but
- 23:32Speaker 1: it doesn't get there on this episode at least, so
- 23:36Speaker 1: Jesse feels like this Maurice Strong is the person they
- 23:41Speaker 1: need to talk to, so they talked to Ben Santer instead,
- 23:45Speaker 1: who is apparently Maurice Strong's main scientist. He's accused by
- 23:50Speaker 1: that British guy of changing some stuff in a report
- 23:54Speaker 1: about global warming to make it seem scarier than it was.
- 23:58Speaker 1: And they interview the guy and he's like, I edited
- 24:01Speaker 1: a document. That is what you do with documents. Sometimes
- 24:04Speaker 1: you make revisions, times you edit, sometimes take things out.
- 24:07Speaker 1: That's what I did. Does not mean there is take
- 24:09Speaker 1: global conspiracy afoot.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Yeah, we conspiracy theorists do be jumping to shadows sometimes.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, Well, like with the when we talked
- 24:17Speaker 1: about conspiracies related to the state of Minnesota. The governor
- 24:22Speaker 1: of Minnesota at one point appointed the guy who shot
- 24:27Speaker 1: those two Democratic lawmakers in their homes. He at one
- 24:30Speaker 1: point in the past had appointed that guy to some
- 24:33Speaker 1: governor's board, which is a thing a governor does for
- 24:37Speaker 1: hundreds of people, doesn't usually meet them. It's like a
- 24:39Speaker 1: formality kind of thing, and that is what a lot
- 24:43Speaker 1: of right wingers used to be. Like the governor of
- 24:45Speaker 1: Minnesota set up a hit. It's like because he had
- 24:47Speaker 1: one interaction with this dude, fucking ten years ago. You
- 24:51Speaker 1: think they became enough friends that he paid someone he
- 24:54Speaker 1: knew to kill two random lawmakers. It's that kind of shit.
- 24:58Speaker 1: It's just like there's nothing there.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you can excuse will extrapolate any connection into whatever
- 25:04Speaker 3: we want it to be. Really, you know, not us.
- 25:06Speaker 3: We're the paragon of logic and virtue. That's why you
- 25:09Speaker 3: come to us for this fine information.
- 25:11Speaker 1: The world's only objective conspiracy theory podcast.
- 25:14Speaker 3: True for ten years now.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Yeah, we couldn't call it that if it wasn't true.
- 25:19Speaker 1: There are laws when it comes to labeling and things
- 25:22Speaker 1: like that. The FDA would shut us down. Is there
- 25:25Speaker 1: a bunch of secret fascists?
- 25:27Speaker 3: And because this podcast is so nourishing for your mind
- 25:30Speaker 3: it is technically a food.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Yes, I probably are a bunch of fascists now right,
- 25:34Speaker 1: it would stand.
- 25:35Speaker 3: To reason probably, Yeah, on some level. I'm not sure
- 25:39Speaker 3: what that like entails, but I bet they're not like
- 25:42Speaker 3: super into like science like they used to be.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:45Speaker 3: By the way, you know, you know founder the FDA,
- 25:47Speaker 3: who's that Richard Nixon, our last great liberal.
- 25:50Speaker 1: President, fucking Nixon man, and.
- 25:53Speaker 3: The EPA too, So you know, when you breathe when
- 25:55Speaker 3: you breed that clean air and eat that clean food
- 25:57Speaker 3: and you think it tritty dick.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I got to get to the Nick Library. That's that's
- 26:01Speaker 1: not far from where I live right here.
- 26:04Speaker 3: I'll go with you, dude, We'll make a day of it.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Bring my dad, let's do it.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I love a fucking presidential library.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Yeah. I just saw a Reagan. I just saw the
- 26:11Speaker 3: Dead Sea Scrolls. And when I got in there, I
- 26:13Speaker 3: was like, oh, this is all sponsored by that Israeli
- 26:16Speaker 3: organization that destroys Palestinian archaeological history. Like I just gave
- 26:22Speaker 3: money to the fucking devil. Shit.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't make it for the Dead Sea Scrolls,
- 26:26Speaker 1: and now it's like in America's two hundred and fiftieth exhibit.
- 26:30Speaker 3: So it'll just make me sick. Just a bunch of
- 26:32Speaker 3: jingoistic bullshit.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm just gonna have to go to see
- 26:36Speaker 1: me Valley strictly for the hummus. So back to Jesse
- 26:41Speaker 1: Ventura spoiler, no one ever admits anything on this show
- 26:45Speaker 1: that is you're just I don't remember who the comedian was,
- 26:48Speaker 1: but he had a bit about how even if ghost surreal,
- 26:52Speaker 1: you're not going to find out. On season three episode
- 26:55Speaker 1: eight of ghost Hunters or some shit.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the bit was like, if they found
- 27:00Speaker 3: you would have heard about it in the news, that
- 27:02Speaker 3: would have been a story. They wouldn't have saved it
- 27:05Speaker 3: for fucking AMC's eleven PM Ghost Hunting Block.
- 27:09Speaker 1: And same thing here, You're never going to get any
- 27:12Speaker 1: huge revelations, although there's got to be something to that
- 27:17Speaker 1: thing where a bunch of these episodes are still not
- 27:20Speaker 1: available anymore. And there's one in particular that we did
- 27:23Speaker 1: cover about FEMA camps that was available for like a
- 27:27Speaker 1: week and then they never ran it again. It's never
- 27:30Speaker 1: been available on streaming. They literally made them take it down.
- 27:34Speaker 1: And it was the episode about how FEMA camps are
- 27:38Speaker 1: eventually going to be camps for dissidents and immigrants.
- 27:43Speaker 3: We got them, we got them. Now it happens. You
- 27:46Speaker 3: called it, Jesse.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that's even one of the things that bothers me
- 27:49Speaker 1: about people on the left and Democrats now being so
- 27:55Speaker 1: huffy about conspiracy theories and how oh that's right, wearer shit,
- 27:59Speaker 1: we don't fuck with conspiracy theories. Well, the fucker every
- 28:02Speaker 1: Democrat thought George Bush was going to put us in
- 28:04Speaker 1: a FEMA camp in the two thousands. That was such
- 28:08Speaker 1: a widespread belief, so don't give me this shit. We're
- 28:12Speaker 1: susceptible to it.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Well, and like you're saying you don't believe in conspiracy
- 28:16Speaker 3: theories means like you don't think anyone you disagree with
- 28:19Speaker 3: ever did anything sneaky and wrong ever, and you wouldn't
- 28:22Speaker 3: want to know about it if they did. What the
- 28:24Speaker 3: fuck are you talking about? This goes back to my
- 28:26Speaker 3: thing about branding, Like we should just call these weird
- 28:28Speaker 3: true facts about history, because then people would take it
- 28:31Speaker 3: more seriously.
- 28:32Speaker 1: I believe there is evidence that the term conspiracy theory
- 28:36Speaker 1: in and of itself was kind of at least the
- 28:38Speaker 1: idea of using that to describe anything that is anti
- 28:43Speaker 1: to what the government says.
- 28:44Speaker 3: I think it's sort of a jfka. I think that's
- 28:47Speaker 3: exactly when I sent when and when and why it
- 28:49Speaker 3: got going.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's an intelligence community idea and it fucking worked. Great.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Those guys got it. There's still high five to each
- 28:57Speaker 3: other for that, psyopdo Like, remember when we convince them
- 29:00Speaker 3: thing that we did was a conspiracy theory? Oh man,
- 29:03Speaker 3: we're too good sometime.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that shit worked, and even worse now, I feel
- 29:07Speaker 1: like a lot of people are hard pressed to even
- 29:09Speaker 1: say conspiracy theory without adding right wing at the beginning
- 29:14Speaker 1: of it. Like, I've seen a bunch of outlets that
- 29:16Speaker 1: call the Epstein Files a right wing conspiracy theory.
- 29:20Speaker 3: It's friends with mostly Democrats.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's like everyone wants to know about the
- 29:24Speaker 1: Epstein Files, not just right wingers. That's insane to call
- 29:28Speaker 1: that a right wing conspiracy theory. But that's where we are,
- 29:31Speaker 1: where everything that is a conspiracy theory now. Also, you're
- 29:35Speaker 1: sort of a right winger. It's like, I'm a right
- 29:37Speaker 1: winger if I don't trust the government, No one should
- 29:40Speaker 1: trust the government. Have you seen this government? I haven't
- 29:42Speaker 1: done shit. We should trust them for in a long time.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Oh god, yeah, It's like, when's the last time the
- 29:47Speaker 3: government did something awesome? I guess when I got healthcare
- 29:51Speaker 3: until I was twenty six. That was cool.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, And even that kind of a cop out
- 29:55Speaker 1: could have been.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean the healthcare plan is Mitt Romney's
- 29:59Speaker 3: healthcare plan. That's so much of a fucking pussy. Barack
- 30:02Speaker 3: Obama is insisting on compromising with people that hate him
- 30:05Speaker 3: and will never agree with him about anything and giving
- 30:07Speaker 3: us this dog shit fucking marketplace. And the one cool
- 30:11Speaker 3: thing being that you know, you could be on your
- 30:13Speaker 3: parents' health care until I was sixteen years ago. Nothing
- 30:16Speaker 3: good in sixteen years.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and even that healthcare plan it got passed because
- 30:23Speaker 1: Obama agreed not to close a loophole with prescription drugs
- 30:28Speaker 1: that keep prescription drugs.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Oh god, I forgot about it.
- 30:32Speaker 1: And not only that, but that loophole that he left
- 30:35Speaker 1: open is what allowed Martin Screlly to do all the
- 30:38Speaker 1: shit he did. So when we were demonizing Martin Screlly, rightfully,
- 30:42Speaker 1: people should have also been like, yeah, but there's a
- 30:45Speaker 1: reason he's able to do that.
- 30:46Speaker 3: And it's Barack Obama is the reason we're never getting
- 30:48Speaker 3: the Lost Boothang album. Thanks Obama.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Yeah. I need to hear those Celine Dion features.
- 30:54Speaker 3: I know, bro, I've been thinking about those for fucking
- 30:57Speaker 3: ten years.
- 30:59Speaker 1: What is she wrong? What if she's not hanging?
- 31:02Speaker 3: What if she's just fitting?
- 31:03Speaker 1: Just got bars for days? God damn it. We need
- 31:07Speaker 1: to hear that. We will someday, right, there's some snippets
- 31:10Speaker 1: have come out. Yeah, it's gotta happen. I mean, couldn't
- 31:12Speaker 1: you if you were rich enough couldn't you just be
- 31:14Speaker 1: like Sue me Rizza letting this shit out.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Something I've always wanted to say, Rizza, I'll see you
- 31:21Speaker 3: in court.
- 31:23Speaker 1: So great news, everybody. Alex Jones shows up on this episode.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Frequent contributor to conspiracy theory. That's who Jesse goes to
- 31:31Speaker 1: for tips on how to get to Maurice Strong.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Primetime Jones. This is pre Sandy Hook Jones. This is
- 31:38Speaker 3: when he was actually pretty much right about quite a
- 31:40Speaker 3: lot of shit.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yeah, this is when he was getting put in movies
- 31:44Speaker 1: and shit. Remember a scanner darkly?
- 31:46Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, he's in that.
- 31:49Speaker 1: This is back when he leaned more toward Bill Hicks
- 31:51Speaker 1: than he does now. He was still coming out of
- 31:53Speaker 1: the Bill Hicks persona.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Here's a firebrand.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Yeah, still some of that on the right side of
- 31:58Speaker 1: history stuff, of course through his veins, but the government
- 32:01Speaker 1: beat that out of him eventually.
- 32:02Speaker 3: We're now in the worst era of Alex Jones, which
- 32:05Speaker 3: is skinny Alex Jones. Who the fuck ever wanted to
- 32:08Speaker 3: see that?
- 32:09Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 32:09Speaker 3: I want him full of barbecue and suspicion.
- 32:12Speaker 1: What is he even doing right now?
- 32:14Speaker 2: Is he?
- 32:14Speaker 3: Well? Info Wars is down, so he's just in a
- 32:16Speaker 3: new Alex Jones show. I saw a clip on Twitter
- 32:19Speaker 3: the other day.
- 32:20Speaker 1: I mean, that's not surprising he's gonna still have an audience,
- 32:23Speaker 1: but and he.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Was, let's face it, born to talk. Incredible broadcaster.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Yeah, one of my favorite Alex Jones moments. That really
- 32:33Speaker 1: speaks to how much of a natural that dude is
- 32:37Speaker 1: in front of a camera, which also lends to my
- 32:39Speaker 1: suspicions that he's actually Bill Hicks. Back when he was
- 32:42Speaker 1: doing a public TV show, like just on a public
- 32:46Speaker 1: PBS type thing, he did a Halloween episode where all
- 32:50Speaker 1: he did was on camera. He carved a jack O
- 32:53Speaker 1: lannern while answering people's questions. It's like one of the
- 32:58Speaker 1: most effortlessly fun to watch things. It's like that motherfucker
- 33:03Speaker 1: God damn it, he's so powerful.
- 33:05Speaker 3: If only he could point himself in the right direction.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Yeah, he really is. Because you hear that about criminals
- 33:11Speaker 1: a lot, where people are like, oh, if they just
- 33:14Speaker 1: channeled all that energy into doing good in the world,
- 33:17Speaker 1: can you met It's like, now they're still poor, they
- 33:19Speaker 1: would have just hid. Yeah, But Alex Jones, if he
- 33:23Speaker 1: put that fucking charisma into the good side of history,
- 33:26Speaker 1: he could have probably fucking run for president or some shit,
- 33:29Speaker 1: or gotten assassinated by the state.
- 33:31Speaker 3: He would have been a martyr for some something good
- 33:34Speaker 3: for sure.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Yeah, Instead we got what we got.
- 33:37Speaker 3: We got guest appearances on conspiracy theory with Jesse venture
- 33:40Speaker 3: and a whole lot of what could have been.
- 33:42Speaker 1: So he tells Jesse to go talk to a guy
- 33:46Speaker 1: named George Hunt, brother of Mike Hunt. He says he's
- 33:51Speaker 1: going to set up a meeting in this exact same warehouse.
- 33:54Speaker 1: He's talking to Alex Jones in a warehouse for no reason.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Clearly cameras and lighting and everything set up. It's not
- 34:00Speaker 1: that clandestine. He says, he's gonna set this meeting up.
- 34:03Speaker 1: George Hunt shows up the next day and he just
- 34:06Speaker 1: reiterates what everyone else has been saying. They're using fear
- 34:10Speaker 1: of climate change to take over the world. Again, no
- 34:13Speaker 1: one specifies what they mean by take over the world.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I think the word enslavement gets tossed around a bunch.
- 34:19Speaker 1: We're not really told how we're going to be enslaved.
- 34:22Speaker 1: He says, there's gonna be a one World bank, a
- 34:24Speaker 1: one world government.
- 34:25Speaker 3: They're gonna whip you while you plant trees for carbon
- 34:27Speaker 3: credits and they'll say, plant faster.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Yeah, is that what they're getting at? I have no idea.
- 34:33Speaker 3: I mean I guess it's like they'll be like, you
- 34:34Speaker 3: can't have a car because it's too much CO two
- 34:37Speaker 3: or something or something like, you know what I mean. Like,
- 34:40Speaker 3: I guess that's what they're getting at.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he says they're gonna oppose industry, and he like
- 34:45Speaker 1: sort of looks at the camera when he says that,
- 34:47Speaker 1: like any rich people watching, they're gonna oppose industry. You know.
- 34:50Speaker 1: So I don't know that I trust George Hunt that much.
- 34:54Speaker 1: And Jesse's team eventually goes all the way to Beijing,
- 35:00Speaker 1: ostensibly to hunt down Maurice Strong, but they have to
- 35:03Speaker 1: know they're not going to be able to do that.
- 35:05Speaker 1: This guy is that fucking rich. And so they get
- 35:09Speaker 1: there and all they tell us is, oh, he's working
- 35:12Speaker 1: with the Chinese government to buy and sell carbon credits.
- 35:15Speaker 1: That could have been a tweet. Yeah, this is why
- 35:18Speaker 1: shows like this don't exist anymore. Can you imagine how
- 35:21Speaker 1: much money they spent to get that one.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Detail that's your scoop?
- 35:26Speaker 1: You know, even by that point in history, I bet
- 35:28Speaker 1: you could have just googled that shit. I bet that
- 35:30Speaker 1: was just available on the internet.
- 35:32Speaker 3: When you put the music underneath it and you get
- 35:35Speaker 3: the b roll and you start doing some quick cuts,
- 35:38Speaker 3: and all of a sudden you're like, whoa, he worked
- 35:40Speaker 3: with the Chinese government to sell carbon credits. Then you
- 35:43Speaker 3: think about it for ten seconds and you're like, okay.
- 35:45Speaker 1: And that really is kind of the big reveal at
- 35:49Speaker 1: the end of this. It's that Maurice Strong is working
- 35:52Speaker 1: with the Chinese government to sell carbon credits, and it's like, well,
- 35:54Speaker 1: would the US government work with him?
- 35:56Speaker 2: No?
- 35:57Speaker 1: Okay. It's the same reason a lot of basketball players
- 36:00Speaker 1: go play basketball overseas when the NBA stops fucking with them.
- 36:04Speaker 1: You'll work with who wants to work with you.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Yeah. That's why Adam has me on the podcast.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Goddamn right, and that's why Connor does this podcast. So
- 36:13Speaker 1: that's the Global Warming episode. There's also Apocalypse twenty twelve,
- 36:18Speaker 1: which is the other head of the two headed snake
- 36:21Speaker 1: of episodes I did not cover because none of this
- 36:23Speaker 1: shit happened. This is a whole episode about how the
- 36:27Speaker 1: Mayan calendar ends December twenty first, twenty twelve, so the
- 36:31Speaker 1: world's obviously going to end, and it's all based on
- 36:36Speaker 1: this report from NASA. That's like, hey, in a few years,
- 36:39Speaker 1: solar flares might come down and really fuck our shit up.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Totally legitimate concern. There's this is stuff that has happened
- 36:47Speaker 3: his story. In eighteen fifty there was a solar flare.
- 36:49Speaker 3: It came down and made the northern lights look fucking crazy.
- 36:53Speaker 3: It fried like telegraph wires and shit, But there wasn't
- 36:56Speaker 3: like a whole electronical ecosystem of devices for it to
- 36:59Speaker 3: like fry that would scare the shit out of people.
- 37:02Speaker 3: So it was like relatively benign. Now that is a
- 37:05Speaker 3: fucking bull in a China shop for like our entire civilization.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Yeah, the thing is the way they sell it here is, oh,
- 37:13Speaker 1: it's coming in twenty twelve. It's absolutely going to happen,
- 37:16Speaker 1: and that clearly wasn't the case, but they pitch it
- 37:20Speaker 1: like it's no, you don't even get it. This is
- 37:22Speaker 1: why all these bunkers are being built. It's because of
- 37:25Speaker 1: the solar flare thing, and that obviously didn't happen in
- 37:28Speaker 1: twenty twelve. Doesn't mean it can't ever happen. But I
- 37:31Speaker 1: don't know if any of the things they talk about
- 37:34Speaker 1: here in terms of reinforcing the grid to prevent stuff
- 37:39Speaker 1: like this. I don't know that we've done any of
- 37:41Speaker 1: that infrastructure investment. We probably haven't.
- 37:44Speaker 3: I mean, you remember when that hurricane knocked out all the
- 37:46Speaker 3: power in Texas, you know, I mean, we just don't
- 37:50Speaker 3: think about this shit just because it hasn't destroyed our
- 37:53Speaker 3: lives yet.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yeah, And in that way, it puts the threat right
- 37:57Speaker 1: up there with the there's a huge fault in the Midwest.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Everyone makes a big deal out of the fault lines
- 38:05Speaker 1: here in California that are going to cause a huge
- 38:08Speaker 1: earthquake and kill us all. There's an equally huge one
- 38:11Speaker 1: in the Midwest that's just been dormant for a lot longer.
- 38:15Speaker 1: But if that fucking thing goes off, the Midwest is
- 38:18Speaker 1: not prepped for earthquakes the way the West Coast is
- 38:22Speaker 1: because we get them. The Midwest doesn't. But now with
- 38:25Speaker 1: all the fracking and shit, earthquakes are way more common.
- 38:28Speaker 1: There was actually one year that Oklahoma had more earthquakes
- 38:30Speaker 1: than California, and it's and if all that fracking sets
- 38:35Speaker 1: off that fault line in the Midwest, the Midwest is
- 38:37Speaker 1: super duper fucked. But that doesn't mean they're knowing shit
- 38:40Speaker 1: about it.
- 38:41Speaker 3: This also fucks out my favorite minor league baseball franchise,
- 38:44Speaker 3: the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, which are now moving to Tulsa.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Are they no? Just I mean it would Track Oklahoma.
- 38:52Speaker 3: No. I went to call on Ontario and I'm a
- 38:53Speaker 3: Tower Buzzers fan. That's our new team, Dodgers affiliated. Fuck
- 38:56Speaker 3: you go, go Buzzers.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I very much want to go to a Tower Buzzers game,
- 39:01Speaker 1: just because I've heard that stadium is fucking amazing.
- 39:04Speaker 3: It's really sick. I haven't gone yet. Let's go.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm very much down. I read about that recently
- 39:10Speaker 1: and yeah, I heard they spent like a few million
- 39:12Speaker 1: on that stadium.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it must have been more than that.
- 39:15Speaker 1: I love a minor league game. We should not only
- 39:18Speaker 1: go to a Tower Buzzers game. Long Beach now has
- 39:23Speaker 1: a minor league team partially owned by Warren.
- 39:26Speaker 3: G Oh you told me this. Yeah, it's so sick.
- 39:29Speaker 1: And they are sometimes called the Long Beach Regulators have
- 39:34Speaker 1: Ultimate Long Beach Regulators jerseys, and I got to get
- 39:39Speaker 1: my hands on one of those, and I looked up tickets.
- 39:41Speaker 1: They're like, the best tickets are twenty five dollars each.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Oh fire, Yeah, that's like.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Right behind home plate. Let's go to some baseball.
- 39:49Speaker 3: Well all we still can honestly, yeah.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah before the Mayan calendar ends again. So I
- 39:56Speaker 1: don't know if any of the improvements to the infrastructure
- 39:59Speaker 1: that they say are needed in this episode have happened,
- 40:02Speaker 1: but probably not. That's kind of the thing Connor keeps mentioning,
- 40:06Speaker 1: this is a TV show. They're not talking about things
- 40:09Speaker 1: that aren't concerning. This is obviously concerning. They're just also
- 40:14Speaker 1: obviously trying to package it in a way where you're like,
- 40:16Speaker 1: holy shit, we're all gonna die. Huh. It's like maybe
- 40:19Speaker 1: probably definitely eventually.
- 40:21Speaker 3: But it could be another two hundred and eighty seven years,
- 40:24Speaker 3: or another one thousand years, or it could be four years.
- 40:27Speaker 3: There's no like predicting solar flares. I don't think we
- 40:30Speaker 3: have that. We may be able to spot warning signs
- 40:33Speaker 3: or something like that, but it's not something you could
- 40:35Speaker 3: like schedule out like El Dino's.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and even if you could, I wonder if there's
- 40:40Speaker 1: anything you could do. There's a fascinating documentary series I've
- 40:45Speaker 1: mentioned a few times called I think it's called Evacuating Earth,
- 40:48Speaker 1: and it's about an apocalyptic scenario where we find out
- 40:52Speaker 1: a neutron star is headed for Earth. And in that scenario,
- 40:57Speaker 1: we would actually have decades, we would know way in
- 41:00Speaker 1: advance that it was going to happen, and in this case,
- 41:02Speaker 1: we have seventy years where we know, all right, clock's ticking,
- 41:06Speaker 1: that thing's going to hit. We're going to be fucked.
- 41:08Speaker 1: And the series is about all the things we would
- 41:11Speaker 1: do to try and find somewhere else to go, and
- 41:15Speaker 1: it is fascinating. Also, only about two hundred thousand of us.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Get to go, which yeah, sounds about right.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the craziest part them talking about the chaos
- 41:25Speaker 1: when people realize they're not going to get to go
- 41:28Speaker 1: and they're just going to have to stand here and watch.
- 41:30Speaker 3: The left behind. Like those Christian rapture books.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Which would you prefer? Would you want to be on
- 41:36Speaker 1: that ship or would you just want to see the
- 41:38Speaker 1: Earth explode?
- 41:39Speaker 3: I got to figure the Earth exploding camp is going
- 41:42Speaker 3: to just be orgies and violence in the street. You
- 41:44Speaker 3: know it's going to be clockwork orange. On some level,
- 41:47Speaker 3: I know i'd want to go. I mean, I'm a pussy.
- 41:49Speaker 3: I want to live, I want to see the generation ship.
- 41:52Speaker 3: That's the starship where you can like support multiple because
- 41:54Speaker 3: we can't go faster than light, but we can have
- 41:56Speaker 3: an ecosystem where we could just sort of like keep
- 41:59Speaker 3: living and children. I mean, I assume it was something
- 42:01Speaker 3: like that, right, Yeah, it's really.
- 42:03Speaker 1: The spaceship part is really interesting. They use all sorts
- 42:08Speaker 1: like those artificial sunlight in there. It's the only scene
- 42:12Speaker 1: I hate is the moment when Earth explodes. They show
- 42:16Speaker 1: a scene from the spaceship and there's one lone child
- 42:20Speaker 1: looking out the window watching Earth explode. It's like, motherfucker.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Everyone would be in front of that window watching that
- 42:26Speaker 1: shit happen.
- 42:27Speaker 3: There's a great short story called Far Centauris. I forget
- 42:30Speaker 3: who wrote it, but the premise is that there's this
- 42:32Speaker 3: lot of slower than light spaceship going away from Earth
- 42:35Speaker 3: towards like an habitable planet around Alpha Cintauri. And it's
- 42:38Speaker 3: since it's literally in the light, it takes them like
- 42:40Speaker 3: four or five hundred years or something to get over there.
- 42:43Speaker 3: And by the time they get to that planet, the
- 42:44Speaker 3: people that were back on Earth invented faster than light
- 42:47Speaker 3: travel and even having a big super advanced technology party
- 42:50Speaker 3: without them you know, and they are hundreds of years
- 42:52Speaker 3: behind culture and everything. Anyway, that's what would happen to me.
- 42:56Speaker 1: So this episode, after they get into the solar flares
- 43:00Speaker 1: and stuff, that's when they start talking about the underground
- 43:04Speaker 1: bunkers and things that the like, the Denver Airport comes
- 43:08Speaker 1: up a bunch. We've done episodes about the Denver Airport.
- 43:11Speaker 3: You ever been Oh yeah, yeah, I looked at all
- 43:13Speaker 3: this stuff. It was a really fun layover.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's what's cool about all the apocalypse stuff at
- 43:19Speaker 1: the Denver Airport. You don't even have to go through
- 43:21Speaker 1: if I recall correctly, you don't have to go through
- 43:23Speaker 1: security to see it. It's all right there at the
- 43:26Speaker 1: main entrance, I believe.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Ye.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Remember, I don't think you have to go through security.
- 43:31Speaker 1: But either way, it's all right there up front. It's alarming.
- 43:36Speaker 3: The weird organization that no one's ever heard of.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like the New World Government organization or some shit.
- 43:44Speaker 3: It might be a be called conspiracy theory dot com presents.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Yeah, there's gargoyles. That mural is fucking frightening. We'll repost
- 43:55Speaker 1: our episode about the Denver Airport so if anyone somehow
- 43:59Speaker 1: isn'tailiar with it.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a pretty big one.
- 44:01Speaker 1: It's a big one. And this episode gets into the
- 44:05Speaker 1: idea that there are bunkers under the Denver Airport, which which.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Kind of goes into my theory that like, you know,
- 44:10Speaker 3: there's all these people that have to work on this
- 44:12Speaker 3: and keep it quiet, and we'll hope it all those
- 44:14Speaker 3: people keep it quiet. Brother, if you had a good
- 44:16Speaker 3: union job with healthcare and a decent salary and all
- 44:19Speaker 3: that shit, you would shut your fucking mouth too, bro.
- 44:21Speaker 3: I mean, I saw some bad shit when I worked
- 44:24Speaker 3: in television.
- 44:25Speaker 1: And imagine if they were like, oh, also you can
- 44:28Speaker 1: have a bunker.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Well, yeah, you get a spot you're in.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Yeah, when the shit goes down for helping us build this,
- 44:34Speaker 1: you get a spot. Granted you're going to have a
- 44:37Speaker 1: shitty job in there. We're still going to treat you
- 44:40Speaker 1: like a poor person, but.
- 44:43Speaker 3: You get a bunker.
- 44:44Speaker 1: And I think the bunkers should have been this whole episode,
- 44:48Speaker 1: because I do think that one. They actually make a
- 44:51Speaker 1: pretty compelling point in this episode. I think they do
- 44:55Speaker 1: make a decent argument that something is being built underground.
- 44:59Speaker 1: They the only question is it's a big area and
- 45:03Speaker 1: a lot of it is populated by gigantic flying airplanes.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Would it not make sense to have a tunnel system
- 45:11Speaker 1: under there so you could like it. When we did
- 45:13Speaker 1: the Minnesota episode, there was all this talk about the
- 45:15Speaker 1: tunnels under the Mall of America. Of course there's tunnels
- 45:18Speaker 1: under the Mall of America. It's probably way easier to
- 45:21Speaker 1: get around.
- 45:21Speaker 3: You got to get your frozen Chili's entrees into the
- 45:24Speaker 3: fucking chilies somehow, and you can't can't be bringing all
- 45:27Speaker 3: that shit through the front door. It'll be a mess.
- 45:29Speaker 1: So on the one hand, I get why there would
- 45:31Speaker 1: be bunkers under the Denver Airport, but also at the
- 45:34Speaker 1: same time, I don't doubt that it could be so
- 45:37Speaker 1: people can relocate there in the case of an emergency.
- 45:40Speaker 1: That's one of the funniest things about this episode to
- 45:43Speaker 1: me is they're like, well, they know this apocalypse is
- 45:45Speaker 1: coming and they're not doing anything. It's like, it sounds
- 45:48Speaker 1: like they're doing something. Sounds like they're building a bunch
- 45:50Speaker 1: of bunkers they can go hide in.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Yeah the fuck they aren't. They're moving there four oh
- 45:53Speaker 3: one k around so they can get a spot in
- 45:54Speaker 3: the missile silo.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Yeah, they're just not doing anything for us, and it's like.
- 45:59Speaker 3: When they yeah, so they'll be like sucks to suck
- 46:03Speaker 3: nerd have fun up there on the Flaming Healthscape. I'll
- 46:06Speaker 3: be eating Mrs twenty miles below the earth.
- 46:09Speaker 1: And I believe they get into the Louisville or the
- 46:12Speaker 1: Kentucky tunnels in this Also, I didn't rewatch all of
- 46:17Speaker 1: the episode. Do you recall what other like tunnel structures
- 46:21Speaker 1: they talk about.
- 46:22Speaker 3: I think it was just Denver, Kentucky and the missiles
- 46:25Speaker 3: under the Integram missile stilos that have been converted into shelters.
- 46:29Speaker 1: And the thing about all of those, with the exception
- 46:32Speaker 1: of the Denver Airport, you can just go look at
- 46:34Speaker 1: them like you can kind of tour them, right, I
- 46:37Speaker 1: know the ones in Kentucky, Like there's fucking shops and
- 46:40Speaker 1: things in there, like you can just go see it.
- 46:43Speaker 3: Oh, they do like a Norad tunnel too. They go
- 46:46Speaker 3: to like a like an American like base carved into
- 46:49Speaker 3: a mountain. It wasn't Norad, but it was something like that.
- 46:51Speaker 1: And that is a moment I bring up all the
- 46:55Speaker 1: time on this show because I'm paraphrasing, but there is
- 47:00Speaker 1: just a magical moment where they're at the opening of
- 47:03Speaker 1: that tunnel and there's a guy with a fucking machine
- 47:07Speaker 1: gun and the gist of the conversation is Jesse Venture.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Oh god, this is so fucked Yeah.
- 47:12Speaker 1: He's like, what would you do if I just drove
- 47:15Speaker 1: pasture right now? Guys like, I don't know, I'd shoot you,
- 47:19Speaker 1: Like I fucking shoot you. Who do you think you are?
- 47:22Speaker 3: Yeah? And he's like, well, what if you know there's
- 47:24Speaker 3: a bunch of people coming through here? Would you would
- 47:26Speaker 3: you open fire on American citizens? And he said, we
- 47:28Speaker 3: do what we have to do.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Yeah, And I don't know what other answer Jesse Venture
- 47:33Speaker 1: was expecting. It reminds me of the Storm Area fifty one. Thing,
- 47:37Speaker 1: Like part of one of the slogans attached to that
- 47:40Speaker 1: was they can't shoot us all ship the fuck they can. Yeah,
- 47:43Speaker 1: let's see, I bet they can, probably with some alien
- 47:47Speaker 1: shit you have never seen before.
- 47:48Speaker 3: Yeah, let's shoot your us with a heart attack.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Kind Yeah, a shellfish toxin gun.
- 47:53Speaker 3: But you'll be lucky if you get one of those
- 47:55Speaker 3: hypersonic the sound weapons that make you shit your pants
- 47:59Speaker 3: that you know they used for crowd control. You know,
- 48:01Speaker 3: that's a real lucky.
- 48:02Speaker 1: If I'm ever assassinated, I want the shellfish tocsin gun.
- 48:05Speaker 1: I don't know why we soured on that, but that
- 48:08Speaker 1: was a thing. The Directory of the CIA whipped it
- 48:11Speaker 1: out during the Church Committee hearings and was like, oh this, yeah,
- 48:14Speaker 1: it's real and it just fired a little dart of
- 48:18Speaker 1: shellfish toxin. And when you get hit with that, you
- 48:20Speaker 1: just like just peacefully die, Like wow, you just like
- 48:25Speaker 1: check out almost immediately.
- 48:27Speaker 3: I want someone to come up behind me at an
- 48:29Speaker 3: addict show and shoot me in the back of the
- 48:30Speaker 3: neck while I'm happy and I could just I could
- 48:32Speaker 3: just go then and like I love big Brother.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be great, it'd be great. So, yeah,
- 48:37Speaker 1: they talk about these underground tunnel things, but the only
- 48:41Speaker 1: one that still creeps me out is the Denver Airport.
- 48:45Speaker 1: As far as the government building shit underground to keep
- 48:48Speaker 1: the government going in the case of a disaster, good,
- 48:52Speaker 1: that's what I want. I want. I would prefer that
- 48:55Speaker 1: the government have somewhere else to go, because like it
- 48:58Speaker 1: or not, that's who you're gonna have to turn two
- 49:00Speaker 1: for help in a situation like that.
- 49:02Speaker 3: Yeah, Unfortunately, I would as much as I hate the
- 49:05Speaker 3: US government, I would want a continuity of power where
- 49:08Speaker 3: the fucking secretary of like fucking puzzle pieces is the
- 49:12Speaker 3: last guy left alive, you know, and he gets to
- 49:14Speaker 3: be a president.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Yeah, so that part I'm not mad about. Even the
- 49:20Speaker 1: idea that, oh, rich people are building bunkers because they
- 49:24Speaker 1: know something's gonna happen. Maybe they know also maybe they
- 49:28Speaker 1: just have enough money that they're like, hey, something might
- 49:31Speaker 1: happen someday. We should have a fucking bunker somewhere.
- 49:34Speaker 3: I mean, if you just knew about like how an
- 49:36Speaker 3: EMP blast would affect Los Angeles, you would want a
- 49:39Speaker 3: fucking bunker too.
- 49:40Speaker 2: You know.
- 49:40Speaker 3: If I had the money, you think I wouldn't bunker up. Absolutely?
- 49:44Speaker 1: That was gonna be my question. If you had the money,
- 49:46Speaker 1: would you build a bunker?
- 49:47Speaker 3: In two seconds? I would love to drive a Lamborghini Temorrio,
- 49:51Speaker 3: but I would love to have the security of knowing
- 49:54Speaker 3: I would survive the apocalypse more, you know.
- 49:57Speaker 1: And I would also want it just as a cool
- 49:59Speaker 1: place to hang out.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Out, Me and Adam kicking back a couple of brus
- 50:04Speaker 3: watching the science fiction movies. The Bunker, all right, that.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Would fucking rip. And then also you can go there
- 50:11Speaker 1: if some shit jumps off. That's great.
- 50:13Speaker 3: I bet that the government's actual like like Nexstus, hub
- 50:16Speaker 3: of like connuity of government and the big global nuclear
- 50:20Speaker 3: war type situation. I bet it's under the shittiest, but
- 50:23Speaker 3: it's under like Omaha, like someplace that would no one
- 50:25Speaker 3: would ever bomb.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Now, I will say Omaha I like a lot. I
- 50:29Speaker 1: feel like Omaha should secede from the rest of Nebraska.
- 50:33Speaker 3: But isn't that where Warren Buffett lives.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 50:36Speaker 3: When they have all this pedophile credit union scandals, Oh
- 50:39Speaker 3: do they? Yeah, the Franklin scandal. I couldn't finish the book.
- 50:42Speaker 3: It's very dense, but there's basically some Jeffrey Epstein shit
- 50:44Speaker 3: happening at a credit union and Omaha roakes.
- 50:48Speaker 1: If it wasn't in Nebraska, I'd probably live in Omaha.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Wow.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Omaha or Minneapolis. I fucking love Minneapolis. Minneapolis rules, Yeah,
- 50:56Speaker 1: I'd probably go Minneapolis. Yeah, that's a great fucking city.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Love it. So yeah, twenty twelve world's gonna end. Sorry everybody.
- 51:05Speaker 1: I hope you're ready. Maybe it did because there is
- 51:08Speaker 1: a conspiracy that I think is also twenty twelve that
- 51:12Speaker 1: claims we shifted into a different reality.
- 51:15Speaker 3: That's when the Berenstein Bear, That's when the bar Yeah,
- 51:18Speaker 3: I was just about to say that's when the Berenstein
- 51:20Speaker 3: Bears became the barn Stain Bears. Yeah, something that I
- 51:23Speaker 3: still can't reconcile on my brand. But I swear to
- 51:26Speaker 3: God I read those books there were Berenstein I have
- 51:29Speaker 3: the answer.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I think. I think it's just bootleg shit. I mean,
- 51:32Speaker 1: the Berenstain Bears were huge back then, and I think
- 51:36Speaker 1: it's just either bootleg shit or just errors at the factory,
- 51:40Speaker 1: because I've seen stuff where it's like one DVD or
- 51:44Speaker 1: one VHS tape where the sticker is spelled different and
- 51:48Speaker 1: people are like, see, it's like, well who manufactured it?
- 51:51Speaker 1: Did you buy it at a store? Did you buy
- 51:53Speaker 1: it on a street corner. I was alive in the eighties.
- 51:55Speaker 1: I know how that shit worked.
- 51:56Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised if my jank elementary school wasn't
- 51:59Speaker 3: buying books.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you could. Back when I was a kid, Like
- 52:04Speaker 1: even when I was in high school. If you went
- 52:06Speaker 1: to the fair, like the Heart of Illinois Fair in
- 52:09Speaker 1: Peoria every year, there would be tables where they would
- 52:12Speaker 1: just sell bootleg cassettes. Like you could buy any album
- 52:15Speaker 1: that was in stores for like three dollars and it
- 52:18Speaker 1: was a shitty cassette. The artwork was printed at home
- 52:22Speaker 1: for some reason. Side A was always on side B
- 52:25Speaker 1: and side B was always on side A. But they
- 52:27Speaker 1: would just sell that shit openly like you could do it.
- 52:30Speaker 1: It's crazy. So I think that's I think that's all
- 52:33Speaker 1: the Baron Stanton Bears shit is. There's the are you
- 52:36Speaker 1: familiar with the we Are the Champions one? Now, there
- 52:40Speaker 1: is a Mandela effect theory about we are the Champions
- 52:44Speaker 1: because there is a claim that on the song we
- 52:47Speaker 1: are the Champions, Freddie Mercury does not say of the
- 52:51Speaker 1: world at the end of that line. It's just we
- 52:54Speaker 1: are the Champions and then nothing else. All that is,
- 52:57Speaker 1: I believe it's the album version does not say of
- 53:01Speaker 1: the world at the end, but the single version, the
- 53:05Speaker 1: version that's on Queen's Greatest Hits, the version everyone knows
- 53:10Speaker 1: of the world. So it's not a Mandela effect thing.
- 53:13Speaker 1: It's just, if you can believe it, they recorded more
- 53:16Speaker 1: than one version of that song. Yeah, in the process.
- 53:20Speaker 1: That's all it is. And I think that's all the
- 53:22Speaker 1: Barrenstain Bears thing is.
- 53:23Speaker 3: Too well though, But the one that got me lately
- 53:27Speaker 3: is the you know, the fruit of the Loom logo.
- 53:29Speaker 3: It doesn't have a cornucopia, It's just a bunch of fruit.
- 53:31Speaker 3: I remember the cornucopia.
- 53:33Speaker 1: That one is weird because I feel like I know
- 53:36Speaker 1: what a cornucopia is because of that logo.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Yeah, although that could just be someone doing copyright infringement
- 53:42Speaker 3: and adding a cornucopia, like you said, bootleg merch. Yeah,
- 53:45Speaker 3: put some fake undies.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Yeah, who knows. Yeah, there was one more I could
- 53:49Speaker 1: The first time, the.
- 53:50Speaker 3: First time I heard the Barnsting Bears thing, I was
- 53:52Speaker 3: probably twenty two. I was so upset. I was at
- 53:54Speaker 3: a comedy show. I went home. I was like, no,
- 53:58Speaker 3: I don't know anything anymore. That was free the fuck out.
- 54:02Speaker 1: And I know the Mandela effect itself. There was a
- 54:07Speaker 1: I believe, prison riot in South Africa in the early
- 54:11Speaker 1: eighties where a bunch of people died and Mandela was
- 54:14Speaker 1: in jail at the time. And I think that is
- 54:17Speaker 1: why people are conflating those two things, because there was
- 54:21Speaker 1: a deadly prison riot around the same time Mandela was
- 54:24Speaker 1: in jail.
- 54:24Speaker 3: But that makes sense.
- 54:25Speaker 1: He didn't die. I mean, he's dead now. I believe
- 54:28Speaker 1: I think Mandela's dead.
- 54:29Speaker 3: You heard that Chris rock bit. Here's so hard? Marriage
- 54:32Speaker 3: is Nelson, Mandela got a divorce. He was in jail
- 54:35Speaker 3: for thirty years. He didnt finally got out for two years.
- 54:37Speaker 3: He said, I can't take this shit.
- 54:39Speaker 1: So that's our episode. I don't remember what other episodes
- 54:43Speaker 1: of Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventcher we have to cover,
- 54:46Speaker 1: but we are going to cover him. Maybe me and
- 54:48Speaker 1: Connor will do the fifty States of Conspiracy episode about California.
- 54:54Speaker 1: That that feels like that's going to have to be
- 54:55Speaker 1: multiple parts, right.
- 54:57Speaker 3: I mean, there's a lot of conspiracies here, a lot
- 54:59Speaker 3: of military testing sites.
- 55:01Speaker 1: You know, Jonestown kind of started here before they moved
- 55:05Speaker 1: to South America.
- 55:06Speaker 3: We got the the Canyon, what's the what's the weird
- 55:10Speaker 3: scenes inside the canyon? Laurel Canyon conspiracy where rock and
- 55:13Speaker 3: rolls of Saya.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Manson, that is one of the more compelling conspiracies
- 55:18Speaker 1: to me, there's a.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I get one with like fucking Jim Morrison's dad
- 55:22Speaker 3: was like, hello, I'm mister Cia.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Frank Zappa, all those motherfuckers. So yeah, we'll
- 55:28Speaker 1: finish out the Jesse Ventura episodes, we'll be around. We
- 55:32Speaker 1: changed the cover art. I don't know if anyone seen.
- 55:35Speaker 3: The new cover art looks sick.
- 55:36Speaker 1: I was going to tell you, hey, thanks, I did
- 55:38Speaker 1: it myself. We haven't updated the conspiracy the show cover
- 55:42Speaker 1: art literally since the show started, back when all of
- 55:45Speaker 1: our thumbnail images had cats in them. So that's updated.
- 55:50Speaker 1: And uh, I think that's it. What the fuck do
- 55:52Speaker 1: we have to plug before we get out of here.
- 55:55Speaker 1: I'll have stuff to plug soon, but not right now. Connor,
- 55:57Speaker 1: what are you gonna plug?
- 55:58Speaker 3: Uh? Make sure you follow me on social media. I
- 56:00Speaker 3: don't know when exactly it's going to happen, but the
- 56:02Speaker 3: rumor is that I wrote a book and it's coming soon.
- 56:05Speaker 3: That's what I'm hearing. I'm not sure if it's true.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Oh that's exciting.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Yeah, my first book.
- 56:10Speaker 1: That's cool. So uh, bolo you on the lookout for that, everybody.
- 56:14Speaker 1: And I think that's it. Let's get the fuck out
- 56:16Speaker 1: of here. Connor say goodbye, adios, goodbye everybody. We love you.
