- 0:00Speaker 1: Why are you yawning, Kate? You're trying to do radio show.
- 0:02Speaker 1: You can't yawn when you're on the air. Everybody's tired.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'm a sleepy girl, especially because my husband is like
- 0:08Speaker 2: preventing me from having sleep. And it just made me
- 0:11Speaker 2: think we've talked a lot about on the show sleep divorces.
- 0:15Speaker 2: And I think I get it. I think I get
- 0:17Speaker 2: why it saves marriages. I think I understand why people
- 0:19Speaker 2: do the Scandinavian sleep method, because quite honestly, I want
- 0:23Speaker 2: to choke my man out.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Wow.
- 0:25Speaker 3: First of all, explain the Scandinavian method.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I don't know what that is.
- 0:30Speaker 2: The Scandinavian sleep method is when you are in a
- 0:32Speaker 2: bed and you use two separate blankets.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Okay. And what is sleep divorce?
- 0:38Speaker 2: Sleep divorce is when you don't sleep in the same
- 0:40Speaker 2: bed as your partner because they are probably bed hogs
- 0:43Speaker 2: and you get better sleep.
- 0:44Speaker 1: And what is going on with you and your husband?
- 0:46Speaker 2: My husband, he keeps waking me up in the middle
- 0:49Speaker 2: of the night, and it is making me so mad.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Either he is pulling the blanket, either he's asking me
- 0:54Speaker 2: to scoot over because he thinks I'm hogging the bed
- 0:56Speaker 2: when really I'm on the edge, or it's just his
- 0:59Speaker 2: sneezing or his coughing or him just being.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Can I ask you a question?
- 1:04Speaker 5: Are you guys you guys are still in the guest
- 1:06Speaker 5: room of your grandma's house, right?
- 1:07Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:07Speaker 4: So is that a king size bed? Is that a
- 1:09Speaker 4: queen size?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Is it a full?
- 1:10Speaker 2: It's a queen size bed. And when I tell you
- 1:12Speaker 2: we have the conversation of when we move out of
- 1:14Speaker 2: this house, we are getting a California king.
- 1:16Speaker 4: No negotiation. Can I just tell you something?
- 1:19Speaker 5: Of all the advice that I've ever heard about marriage,
- 1:23Speaker 5: the best advice I've ever heard was spend the money
- 1:26Speaker 5: and get a king-size bed because it doesn't matter how
- 1:29Speaker 5: big you are. Like at some point, you're going to
- 1:30Speaker 5: have kids or dogs or something like that. Or you
- 1:33Speaker 5: just need a little extra room, and that little extra
- 1:35Speaker 5: room will save the marriage.
- 1:37Speaker 2: It truly does. And then you have the bigger mattress,
- 1:40Speaker 2: which means you have a bigger blanket. That means I'm
- 1:42Speaker 2: not playing tug-of-war, and that means I love him again.
- 1:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Yeah, you got to get out of there and get
- 1:46Speaker 4: a bigger size bed.
- 1:47Speaker 2: He is literally making me crash out because then I
- 1:49Speaker 2: can't fall back asleep. And it just makes me so mad.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I'm like, you get to enjoy your mornings. I do too,
- 1:56Speaker 2: but I got to be up before the birds are.
- 1:58Speaker 6: I kind of wonder if there's a little something else
- 2:03Speaker 6: going on behind that.
- 2:04Speaker 4: A little different motivation. What do you mean, Kyle?
- 2:07Speaker 6: Well, because Peyton, you have shared that like Kadeem really
- 2:11Speaker 6: wants a baby. And like waking up in the middle
- 2:14Speaker 6: of the night, that's what happens. I wonder if he's
- 2:17Speaker 6: like pre-training you.
- 2:19Speaker 2: For pre-training to knock me up.
- 2:21Speaker 1: To have a baby.
- 2:21Speaker 4: No, to get up in the middle of the night
- 2:23Speaker 4: and feed the baby.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I actually wouldn't put that back.
- 2:26Speaker 1: He's like, he's scheming behind the scenes.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Especially because right now he's kind of in this weird
- 2:31Speaker 2: prank mode. So he keeps setting up cameras to get
- 2:33Speaker 2: me like pranked. And I wouldn't be shocked if he
- 2:36Speaker 2: was purposely waking me up in the middle.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Of the night.
- 2:38Speaker 1: He's like, let's see how she's going to be when
- 2:39Speaker 1: she's a new mom. And then now he's like, I'm scared.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Maybe we can wait.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Maybe we can wait. Didn't you just ask, like, how
- 2:45Speaker 1: do people go back to sleep?
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Didn't you ask that somehow?
- 2:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Is that because of that? So this has been going
- 2:49Speaker 1: on for a while?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yes, it's been going. I have not gotten, like, a
- 2:52Speaker 2: good night's rest in probably three or four weeks.
- 2:56Speaker 6: Oh, man.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Because you can't get back to sleep.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Because he wakes me up and then I can't fall
- 3:01Speaker 2: back asleep.
- 3:02Speaker 1: That's terrible.
- 3:03Speaker 5: That is like a, that's an unforgivable crime.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Yeah. To wake you up when you get up so early.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Especially on purpose.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I don't like that.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I don't like that at all. I think it's on purpose.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Like he's definitely just like clearing his stutter, his allergies
- 3:15Speaker 2: or whatever, but that doesn't change the fact that it's
- 3:17Speaker 2: ridiculously annoying. I used to say my prayers like to
- 3:20Speaker 2: get myself to go back to sleep. I would say
- 3:21Speaker 2: like my Our Fathers and my Hail Marys and I
- 3:23Speaker 2: would usually knock right out.
- 3:24Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 3:24Speaker 2: But it's not working anymore.
- 3:27Speaker 1: You're like, oh, Heavenly Father, please kill him. No, literally,
- 3:30Speaker 1: out of my dreams, I'm like, smite him. When you're tired,
- 3:34Speaker 1: your anger level goes to like 100.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Totally.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Like, my wife reads every night when we go to bed,
- 3:39Speaker 3: and sometimes I'll fall asleep, and then she'll, like, move
- 3:41Speaker 3: her leg, and I'll wake up, and I get so mad.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Like, ridiculously mad.
- 3:45Speaker 4: We start having these conversations.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Hey, are you going to, you know, come to bed
- 3:49Speaker 5: soon and stay in bed and quit moving?
- 3:53Speaker 4: Because once we go to sleep, we want to stay asleep.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Yes.
- 3:55Speaker 4: That's precious, precious life. Precious time.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So what are you going to do? Are you going
- 3:58Speaker 1: to go sleep in another room? Or there are no
- 4:00Speaker 1: other rooms in your house. Everyone's got one taken.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Literally, it's a full house because even if I wanted
- 4:05Speaker 2: to go sleep in the other extra room, my nephews
- 4:07Speaker 2: are there half the time. You guys, it is literally
- 4:09Speaker 2: a full house and I'm about to lose it.
- 4:12Speaker 1: All right. We'll be nice to you over here. If
- 4:15Speaker 1: anybody's got sleep divorce advice for Peyton, let us know.
