- 0:00Now see this was supposed to be
- 0:03Victory week it's supposed to be a week where you know, I can talk my stuff to Eagles fans, but you know, I
- 0:11Didn't happen
- 0:12so
- 0:14Yeah
- 0:16Yeah, this is
- 0:18This is gonna be one of those episodes. I
- 0:22You know, I had a lot planned and a lot said, you know, I definitely was talking a lot of
- 0:28a drunk to a lot of people about this game and
- 0:33It's it's it's messed me up. So
- 0:37This is getting to everything, you know the laundry Campbell, you know quits on his team Travis Hunter wins the Heisman
- 0:44You know, Steve was versus Eagles Lyons versus bills
- 0:48Washington versus the Saints and the Packers against the Seahawks on the 55th episode of the football junkies podcast. Yeah
- 0:55Yeah, this is this is how I'm gonna sound, you know, because of my disappointment within my team
- 1:04Is what I would say if I was one of these delusional
- 1:08Steelers fans or any of these others fans that would think that it is the end of the world
- 1:14Because we lost to a team that is way better than our team
- 1:18But you know what none of that matters because you know why this is the 55th episode of the football junkies podcast
- 1:24Okay, I am your host with the most. Okay. I am your chief bad road diamonds. I am the man with the plane
- 1:31I am I am currently a GM who currently is not on a team by now
- 1:36But don't you worry about it. Okay, because guess what?
- 1:40Everything is gonna be all right because guess what we play on Saturday. We're gonna win the division
- 1:45We're gonna hold the third seed and we're gonna go to the Super Bowl this year. So guess what?
- 1:49I know you're happy. I'm happy too
- 1:51We got a lot to talk about with this episode a lot of hot takes a lot of hot opinions
- 1:56But guess what it's gonna be amazing. Okay, so guess what? I know you're ready. I'm ready to so let's do this thing
- 2:02Okay on three one two three. Let's lock in. Oh
- 2:23All right folks, let's not waste any more time
- 2:33Let us get into the meats and potatoes of everything that is going on in the league right now
- 2:41So before we get to the games, we got to talk about some hot things that have happened
- 2:47Okay, and some people may not like what I'm about to say
- 2:50But I like to look things from different perspectives. So let's just get into the most talked about situation that has happened
- 2:58Since last week the Vondry Campbell walked out on the team during the game. So when I was watching the game, you know
- 3:05I'm seeing the Vondry Campbell. I got a towel on he's walking back something. You know, maybe got going to the bathroom
- 3:11Maybe something's bothering him. Maybe he's you know sick or something. No, he quit on the team
- 3:17And then that's the thing. I know I'm just my phone was just going on
- 3:23I'm just like, oh man this this maybe he just told that just just to say maybe he was just being sarcastic
- 3:28Maybe he was upset or whatever, but no, he actually did quit on the team
- 3:32And now he's officially suspended for three games. So he cannot sign with any other team
- 3:37But this is what Kyle Shanahan had to say about this whole debacle. So and I quote we are working through the semantics of exactly
- 3:45How to deal with it, but you guys heard from me last night
- 3:47You guys heard from our players his actions from the game is not something you can do to your team or your teammates and still be a
- 3:54Part of your team. Okay, that's one person. It's our various war. That's some suck of shit
- 3:59It definitely hurt the team probably going to get cut soon
- 4:03Okay, that's too George Kittle. It's hard to win football games when someone doesn't want to play football
- 4:09I think that's ignorant. I think that it's done. I think it's just stupid and it's very immature
- 4:15I just don't see how you could do something like that to your team and I quote now
- 4:20I probably seem like I probably just mashed them all together, but it was just quote after quote after quote
- 4:25so
- 4:26Let's just get into his stats because basically his season is over with the Vondry Campbell finished this season with 44
- 4:33tackles into past deflection now I'm going to
- 4:36Do try to break things down and try to do things from different perspectives
- 4:42Okay, so I need you to to follow me my fellow junkies. So on one hand, I understand
- 4:48the frustrations of the team I do I get it
- 4:52It's I am not trying to justify the Vondry Campbell's actions. I think they are, you know, very
- 5:00Troubling and I think you know that definitely says a lot or Devon Dre Campbell
- 5:04It looks bad on you because
- 5:07You walk down on the team and one of the most important games of the season if they would have won that game
- 5:13They still would have had somewhat of a chance of making it into the playoffs because they lost that game
- 5:20I think now they are officially eliminated from the playoffs
- 5:24My whole problem with this is
- 5:27What gives you the right to walk out on the team?
- 5:29Chalvarius Ward is still dealing with the passing of his one-year-old daughter prayers thoughts and prayers to him
- 5:38Trent Williams is dealing with injuries while also coping the loss of his new born babies
- 5:46prayers and thoughts to his family as well
- 5:50Ricky Pierce all almost died in the summer because he got robbed for his watch
- 5:55Fred Warner is playing on a messed up ankle George Kittle is dealing with injuries
- 6:01Brandon Ieuacus is out for the season Christian McCaffrey is out for the season and
- 6:06The fact that you decided to walk out on the team
- 6:11Definitely says a lot and now what's gonna happen is
- 6:16You are gonna have to figure out a way of how you can eliminate this image that is now being painted about you
- 6:23because
- 6:25You walked out on a team
- 6:28That needed you and you can't say well they did me wrong or all this and that
- 6:34Can't do all that
- 6:36Because you know why because you're a free agent after this season teams are gonna look at that
- 6:43everyone saw that game and
- 6:45I wouldn't be surprised if there's more conversations that are being had behind closed doors
- 6:51So again, this was the wrong time for you to do it if you did not want to play this game
- 6:58Then you should have found a way for you not to play this game
- 7:04simple as that compared to
- 7:06Walking out during the game is going while the game is still at a point where
- 7:12Something can happen a play could be made that can put the team in a winning position
- 7:18But you walked out on the team
- 7:20now
- 7:23From his first step of Purton perspective, I can't even speak it's definitely the coffee from his perspective. He's probably thinking
- 7:30Man, I'm about to lose a majority of my step snaps because
- 7:35Drey Greenlaw is back
- 7:37Man, what am I supposed to do now?
- 7:40But at the same time it shouldn't matter because guess what Drey Greenlaw
- 7:45He's probably on a snap count anyway. So either way you would still be getting some snaps
- 7:52You probably will be splitting them, you know with him
- 7:55But for the majority Drey Greenlaw is going to get those snaps because why he plays a pivotal role on the defense
- 8:03This was expected. You knew what you were getting once you signed with the team
- 8:09Now my only question is this was there an agreement in place?
- 8:16Prior to him signing when it came to this very this very situation
- 8:22because
- 8:23Someone isn't just going to just walk out without there being something
- 8:27You know said and agreed upon prior to him signing with the 49ers
- 8:32Now I know there's probably some people that are probably thinking and probably have a scrunched up face right now
- 8:37They're probably thinking what are you talking about the Vondre Campbell could have signed with any other team
- 8:41He could have signed with 31 other teams, right?
- 8:45What exactly what was said?
- 8:48That gave him the reassurance that okay, I'm going to get a majority of the snaps
- 8:55I'm going to be working with Fred Warner and whatnot. I'm fine
- 9:01What exactly happened?
- 9:03Because since then all we've heard is from the the players perspective
- 9:09We haven't heard anything from Devon Drey Campbell at some point. You're gonna have to say something
- 9:16At some point because
- 9:19Now this thing is
- 9:21Continuing to go on and it's going to continue to go into the end of the season
- 9:26Because why you have yet to say anything you have yet to tell your side of the story and I think for me personally
- 9:34I would love to hear his side of the story just so I can understand
- 9:38The entirety of this entire situation
- 9:42Because now all I'm hearing is all the frustrated, you know players
- 9:46Who have every right to be frustrated because a lot of them are dealing with real-life situations outside of this football?
- 9:54like
- 9:56People have lost children people have lost family members people are dealing with you know injuries that they should be you know trying to rest
- 10:04But they're trying to go to the playoffs. They're trying to get back where they once were a few years ago and for you to leave
- 10:14Come on, bro
- 10:16Come on. You just cannot do that
- 10:19And I've said this to a few friends of mine and I will say this publicly this is going to affect him in free agency
- 10:29tremendously
- 10:30because whenever
- 10:32They start talking about money and agreements and contracts and whatnot. They're gonna bring this up. I
- 10:39Guarantee you watch watch what I say. I know I may be a little bit crazy and whatnot
- 10:43But watch what I say. This is going to come back in a different way and it's probably gonna haunt him it is
- 10:51There's just certain things you just don't do and this is one of them
- 10:55You never walk out on your team. You always fight with your team to the end. I don't care if the score is
- 11:0398 to 0
- 11:05You still
- 11:06Fight with the team
- 11:08Now another controversial topic that definitely needs to be talked about Travis Hunter winning the Heisman
- 11:16now
- 11:17This is just my personal opinion. I would have thought that
- 11:20You know, they would have gave both Travis and Ashton Gentie
- 11:26The Heisman me personally
- 11:28I feel like both of them should have been co-Heisman winners because both of them were
- 11:33Were 1a and 1b the best college football players this season, right?
- 11:41People were watching
- 11:43You know just as many Colorado games as they were, you know when it came to the Boise State games
- 11:49So there's no way that you can really say. Oh, this person was better than that person
- 11:55But ultimately it happened now when we look at their stats, right Travis Hunter's offensive stat
- 12:02offensive snaps
- 12:03stats
- 12:04It's definitely the coffee
- 12:0692 receptions for
- 12:091152 receiving yards he averaged
- 12:1212.5 receiving yards per reception in 14 touchdowns his defensive stats
- 12:1831 total tackles 11 past deflections one force fumble for an exception. Okay
- 12:25Ashton Gentie
- 12:28344 carries for
- 12:302497 rushing yards 29 touchdowns and he averaged
- 12:367.3 rushing yards per carry
- 12:38Now granted I understand that the last two-way player to win the Heisman was Charles Woodson in the late 90s
- 12:45I think it was 97 if I'm not mistaken
- 12:47I understand that and I understand
- 12:51You know the ramifications that come with winning the Heisman
- 12:55However, if I am a media person if I'm a person that is on the board when it comes to voting for the Heisman
- 13:03I cannot say this person is better than that person and I understand there are people that are probably saying well
- 13:09You've never played football before so you wouldn't know yes
- 13:13I understand that but at the end of the day when you have two dynamic players that are doing this
- 13:18You can't really you can't really weed out and say oh this person was better than that person
- 13:23You just can't and even when you look at the votes
- 13:28Travis Hunter earned
- 13:30552 first place votes while Ashton Gentie only earned 300 and I that's a
- 13:37243 first place point differential
- 13:40Okay, when we look at the total votes Hunter had
- 13:452231 total votes while Gentie had
- 13:482017 votes that's a 214
- 13:51total vote differential and
- 13:54so the reason why I'm saying all these things is because
- 13:59What we have here is a
- 14:02situation where
- 14:05the media in some ways voted for Travis Hunter and now I
- 14:10Just be before I go any further. I don't want to make it seem like I'm hating on Travis Hunter that I don't like Travis
- 14:16Hunter no, I'm really big Travis Hunter fan
- 14:18Love them. I know he's gonna be a top three pick. I know he is
- 14:23I know he's gonna do phenomenal things, but when it comes to this Heisman stuff when it comes to the voting
- 14:28It got a little bit shaky for me
- 14:31It really did and I kept on saying it leading up to the Heisman
- 14:36Both of those two should have just gotten the Heisman
- 14:38They you should have just gave it to the both of them because you can't say this person is better than the other person
- 14:45Now the only difference between the two is
- 14:49Ashton Gentie
- 14:51Carry the team into the college playoffs
- 14:54Because now if I'm not mistaken, I think they have a first round by so they don't have to face anybody
- 14:59They have to wait they can rest recoup and you know prepare a game plan for whoever whoever they have to go up against
- 15:07Colorado didn't make it to the college playoffs. So if you want to base that
- 15:11For the Heisman voting, okay, that's perfectly fine
- 15:16But all of this other stuff. Oh, he's a two-way player. Oh, he did this. Oh, he did that
- 15:20If I'm not mistaken and I've been trying to find it, you know for the longest time I
- 15:27Don't think Travis Hunter was first in any in any of the the statistics when it comes to receiver and corner
- 15:35Meanwhile asked to Gentie if I'm not mistaken. He was
- 15:38so again
- 15:42This was
- 15:44Just a little bit too close to count. It really was and
- 15:49You know ashton gentie, you know, he he said how how he felt, you know once once everything was done. I
- 15:57Since the frustration coming from him. I really do but
- 16:02That's just
- 16:03Unfortunately that that's just how the cookie crumbled sometimes now. I will say this I think if
- 16:09Ashton gentie would have broken Barry Sanders record
- 16:14For sure they would have had to give it to the Astor Jets
- 16:17It's 100% they would have had to make him the unanimous Heisman
- 16:22Winner they would have had to but those are just my thoughts and opinions if you got anything
- 16:27Contradicting that guess what you can go on our Instagram at football underscore junkies pod
- 16:32Go in the comments. Let me know your thoughts about the whole Heisman situation now. Let's get into these games
- 16:38Okay, oh, I forgot I got to put this out here and I'll probably say it again at the end of the episode
- 16:43There may be or may not be an episode next week simply because you know
- 16:48Christmas is is next week and you know
- 16:52Gotta get things together and whatnot. So there may or may not
- 16:55If there is or if there isn't I'll be sure to let you guys know and you know all all that great stuff now
- 17:02Let's get into the game that I thought I was gonna be able to talk my stuff
- 17:07But I couldn't because we lost but it's okay because guess what doesn't really affect us
- 17:12And that is the Pennsylvania Bowl as I call it
- 17:16Let's just get into it. Let's just get it over with Russell Wilson 14 for 22
- 17:21128 passing yards one touchdown 5.8 yards per 10 in a 63.6 completion percentage
- 17:27Najee Harris six attempts for 14 for 14 rushing yards 2.3 rushing yards per carry Calvin Austin five targets for five receptions
- 17:3665 receiving yards 13 receiving yards per reception Jalen Hertz 25 for 32
- 17:43290 passing yards two touchdowns
- 17:469.1 yards per attempt in a 78.1 completion percentage
- 17:49Sequin Barclay 19 attempts for 65 rushing yards
- 17:533.4 rushing yards per carry in one rush of 10 plus yards of more AJ Brown 11 targets for eight receptions
- 18:00110 receiving yards one touchdown and 13.8 receiving yards per reception now
- 18:06This is what I will say this was a really good game. It was a very chippy game
- 18:12As much as I want to you know be that fantasy
- 18:15Well, they didn't call anything about Jalen Carter or they didn't call anything about TJ
- 18:21What being held or they didn't call this they didn't call that
- 18:24Most likely they wasn't gonna do it anyway, especially of how rooted
- 18:29This rivalry is they wasn't gonna do that. Just it's like the Ravens and Steelers
- 18:34If you would lose your mind off of every call that's not that that isn't you know, that isn't being noticed
- 18:41You would have lost your mind, but
- 18:43This is what I will say and I'm gonna start with the Eagles first
- 18:47Get them out the way and then I can talk I can talk about my students
- 18:51But before we go any further Mike from the not that serious podcast
- 18:56Hey, bro, you got it y'all won. All right. Congratulations to y'all
- 19:02Congratulations, you know, not that serious podcast Mike Elsie
- 19:06dr. Woff
- 19:07Cory
- 19:09Q Mike all them guys shout to them great podcast to listen to but most importantly Mike Elsie
- 19:16Congratulations, you guys won if you guys don't know
- 19:18They're very big Eagles fans and me and Mike was going back and forth on Twitter about it and whatnot
- 19:24But don't nobody care about that. This is what I will say the Eagles control this game from start to finish
- 19:30They control this game. The reason why I say that is because when you look at their time possession
- 19:34Their time possession was 39 minutes and 52 seconds
- 19:40Pittsburgh's time of possession was only 20 minutes
- 19:44This team was controlling the field
- 19:47We have now entered that part of the season even though the regular season is about to end in the playoffs and you're ready to start
- 19:53We have hit that point where the time possession to me is going to be one of the most crucial
- 19:59Things that I'm going to be looking at because a lot of times like a team like the Eagles
- 20:05They're going to be on the field for like 20 or 30 or 40 minutes and they can dictate how the game goes
- 20:11And that's exactly what what happened Pittsburgh was not able to get
- 20:17Filly off the field as much and in doing so that's probably one of the reasons why we lost and then not to mention
- 20:24Filly was able to convert on third down
- 20:27Pittsburgh was struggling when we look at these stats, right? Pittsburgh's third down conversion
- 20:34three for ten
- 20:35Phillies third down conversions ten for 17
- 20:40The stats don't lie folks. I
- 20:42Understand that there are some steelers fans that are you know a little bit frustrated about it and and you know
- 20:49Upset and whatever whatever the case may be but the fact of the matter is
- 20:54The Eagles are what the Steelers are trying to be it's like that. It's like that older sibling
- 21:00You're trying to you know always get a chance to beat your old your older sibling where that be in
- 21:07Racing where that be in sports or where that be in whatever, right?
- 21:12And most of the times you won't be able to because they're just better than you and that happens
- 21:17the Eagles roster from start to finish is
- 21:20Is very much more equipped than what Pittsburgh is now Pittsburgh is trying to mimic what the Eagles are doing
- 21:29But the Eagles are just more complete
- 21:32when we look at it, they have a
- 21:35Great receiving well not really a great receiving court, but they have a really good receiving core and AJ Browns Vontae Smith
- 21:41They have a solid elite run game in say Cron Barkley
- 21:45They still have a top five offensive line even with the departure and retirement of Jason Kelsey
- 21:52The defense is starting to look amazing, especially with Jaylen Carter and Jordan Davis
- 21:59Zach Bond is looking like an all-pro when your Mitchell is looking like the rel revis you have Cooper Dijine
- 22:05You have CJ Garner Johnson. They got stars everywhere, right?
- 22:11They got dogs everywhere and they are more battle tested
- 22:17Then what Pittsburgh is and that's fine now when we shift things over to Pittsburgh
- 22:23They were going to struggle anyway because why George Pickens wasn't gonna play
- 22:27The Sean Elliott was gonna play and Larry Oh was not gonna play
- 22:31Especially George Pickens
- 22:32We are now seeing that this Steelers team is a completely different Steelers team without George Pickens being on the field
- 22:40And granted I understand there are you know the Mike Williams fans that are saying well, what about Mike Williams?
- 22:45What about Mike Williams? I've been able to fully see the all 22 film from start to finish
- 22:51But there were some instances where you know Mike wasn't really creating a whole lot of separation
- 22:57And he really wasn't getting open a few times
- 23:00That's just what it is and that's okay
- 23:03But you know the one thing that I definitely said as the halftime as halftime was was ending
- 23:09the one thing I said was put up in the air and
- 23:13Lo and behold guess what happens they do a flea flicker
- 23:16Russ gives it to Calvin Austin boom big play and then they just started marched down the field marching marching marching marching
- 23:22And then that's saying you know they're getting close to the red zone and then what happens nausea fumbles the ball now
- 23:28Understand there are some people are saying all this is the reason why you know
- 23:32Nausea is not gonna be with the Steelers no more it happens
- 23:36It happens. It's okay
- 23:38This game really doesn't mean a whole lot this game is just for bragging rights. That's all it is
- 23:43It doesn't have any playoff implications whatsoever because why we already clinched our playoff birth anyway
- 23:50Because why Miami loss in the Coastal loss yesterday, so it's okay. We're fine
- 23:56We're fine serious fans. It's okay. Hey, listen, I need you to breathe with me. Okay, I
- 24:00Need you to woo saw I need you to woo saw with me for a moment. Okay, everything is gonna be fine now
- 24:08Back to this game
- 24:10The offense was struggling. Okay at this point
- 24:14I think we have to be a little bit more creative with with the play calling especially trying to put it up in the air
- 24:19You know, you have Calvin Austin a very shifty fast receiver that is able to create separation fairly quickly
- 24:27You know, you have Pat Fiery move. You know, you have Mike Williams. You know, you have all these other receivers
- 24:32You have to be a little bit more creative and utilize and utilizing them
- 24:37Because now we don't know exactly how long George Piggins is going to be out for
- 24:42So we have to prepare that he is not going to be with us for the entire regular season
- 24:47And he'll be ready for us, you know, what wants to play off starts that is that is a realistic scenario that the team has to prepare for
- 24:55And so that means that you have to switch up the play calling a little bit
- 24:59When we switch it over to the defense the defense was doing their thing Tj y was you know being TJ Y
- 25:04Alex high spin was being Alex high Smith cam was being cam
- 25:08But again, you started to see the struggles that the team was having because
- 25:14Even though they was preventing seguan from, you know running here there everywhere. Guess what?
- 25:20They was being beat up in the air and so what happened was instead of Minka playing in the backfield
- 25:26You have Minka playing in the box. You have the Monte KZ playing, you know in the backfield
- 25:32Even though yes Minka is a really good tackler
- 25:35You would have rather had him be in the backfield because you know
- 25:39He's gonna be able to keep a lid on any of those deep passes
- 25:43And that's why you you wouldn't needed the Sean Elliott even more because the Sean Elliott is a big enough safety
- 25:51That for one he can play in the box and two when it comes to those downhill downhill hits he can deliver them
- 25:59Compared to having someone like a Minka who is your ball hall type safety
- 26:04Just saying when we saw Dante Jackson Dante Jackson was definitely struggling a little bit
- 26:09There were a few plays where he looked like a deer in headlights, but the secondary was getting beat up
- 26:15AJ Brown was being them up. Devonte Smith was being them up
- 26:18And so this is ultimately, you know the reasons why the Steelers lost and that's okay. That's perfectly fine
- 26:25We have to focus on getting healthy
- 26:28Preparing ourselves for Saturday because we have to go big in sports more and then we have to prepare ourselves again
- 26:33For the Chiefs next week and then you have to face the bangles, right?
- 26:39So again, it's okay Steelers fans. I understand that you're upset. It's alright
- 26:46So it's all good in the hood man, but listen
- 26:50Don't worry
- 26:51They're gonna have their time
- 26:53Because guess what when they lose when they don't go to the Super Bowl. Oh, guess what? I'm gonna be right there
- 26:59I'm gonna be right there
- 27:02Popcorn in hand in the most comfiest chair I can find the biggest drink that I can find
- 27:10I'm going to be he he and ha ha from here to there
- 27:16There's nothing they can do about it better yet
- 27:19I might even use the picture of them walking off the field in disappointment as the profile picture
- 27:25Well, not a profile picture, but an episode picture just you wait
- 27:30Now that now that we're done with with with that game. Let's get into the other games. Alright, so lions and bills, okay?
- 27:37As I said as I predicted it was gonna be a high-scoring game. What happened? It's a high-scoring game
- 27:43So Josh Allen 23 for 34
- 27:45362 passing yards to touchdowns 10.6 yards per 10 in a 67.6
- 27:51completion percentage James Cook 14 attempts for 105 rushing yards
- 27:557.5 rushing yards per carry two touchdowns and two rushes of 10 plus yards or more tie Johnson five targets for five receptions
- 28:03114 receiving yards and
- 28:0522.8 receiving yards per per reception
- 28:08Jared golf 38 for 59
- 28:11494 passing yards five touchdowns 8.4 yards per attempt in a 64.4 completion percentage
- 28:17Jameer Gibbs eight attempts for 31 rushing yards
- 28:203.2 rushing yards per carry one touchdown and one rush of 10 plus yards or more
- 28:25I'm on Ross St. Brown 18 targets for 14 receptions
- 28:29193 receiving yards one touchdown and 13.8 receiving yards per reception
- 28:34This was a really good game me personally
- 28:37I feel like this should have been the Sunday night football game just of how great it was
- 28:43Okay, this was a heavyweight bow. Okay one person scores the other person scores
- 28:48And it just kept on going for four quarters straight
- 28:52This is the game in my mind that I feel like this seals the envy the MVP conversation up
- 28:58Okay, right now in my mind Josh Allen is the MVP 100% of the way I
- 29:05Understand, you know say Juan is close to you know getting 2000 yards and you knows Lamar is you know
- 29:12He's he's starting to win again and whatnot. I get all that
- 29:16But Josh Allen right now is the MVP what he has been able to do
- 29:22Without a Stefan digs type of receiver
- 29:25Has been phenomenal. They have now relied more on the run game
- 29:30The other pieces that they have on that offense to win them games
- 29:34Not to mention the defense looks a little bit more polished than what they did against the Rams because the Rams torch them
- 29:41Especially in the secondary they torched them cooked them
- 29:44How Bachi grilled get the rosemary get the time get the butter and scoop scoop scoop scoop
- 29:50That's just how crazy was but back to this game though for the Lions
- 29:56You lost but you lost even more
- 29:59Now apparently David Montgomery is out for the season
- 30:02Carlton Davis is out for the season
- 30:05Aline McNeill is out for the season and Khalil Dorsey is out for the season
- 30:10I'm just gonna read off
- 30:12Some of the players that are that are on the injured reserve list right now. Well that are injured. Okay
- 30:19Aiden Hutchison Aline McNeil Kyle Peckle Marcus Davenport John Kaminsky
- 30:25Mackay Wingo Nate Lynn David Bada Alex Anzalon Derek Barnes Jalen Reeves Maven
- 30:33Malcolm Rodriguez
- 30:35Carlton Davis Aniz Rickstraw Jr. Khalil Dorsey Afitu Melafonu David Montgomery Khalif Raymond Anton Green
- 30:43Connor Galvin Nate team Muti and Michael Bagley
- 30:48That is a very extensive list flows and a lot of these injuries are season ending injuries
- 30:53That's why they've been trying to pluck different players from other teams as practice qualifiers just to you know
- 30:59Just try to make things fit because as of right now their spot for the number one seed is a little bit shaky right now
- 31:06Because why there is a three-way fight on who will get the number one seed and those three teams are the Lions
- 31:14The Vikings and the Eagles and all of this depends on the remaining games in this season
- 31:21So right now. Yes, the Lions are quote-unquote the number one seed
- 31:25But it's not come completely locked in because any of those teams can get it from the Lions. So again, I
- 31:34Don't know how things are going to shape up
- 31:37But if I'm the Lions, I am pushing hard to try to get that number one seed so you can get that first round by
- 31:43You can get some of these players that are injured
- 31:46you can have them, you know back in the lineup and
- 31:49You can prepare yourself for a more I wouldn't say weaker opponent
- 31:53But you can prepare yourself for you know a better matchup that favors that favors you more
- 31:59compared to
- 32:00Having to grind to get to the NFC championship and then let alone the Super Bowl because remember hutches still out
- 32:08Hunch won't be able to come back until the Super Bowl even though hutches said publicly that you know
- 32:13Just make it to the Super Bowl guys and then I got you guys blah blah blah, but I
- 32:17I just don't know I don't know because right now the Vikings are on a hot streak
- 32:24The Eagles are on a hot streak and the Lions are banged up bad
- 32:30Now I don't know how exactly they're gonna be able to you know
- 32:34Continue to win, but hey, it's the Lions. They always find crazy ways to win now
- 32:40Onto the Washington and New Orleans game. Yes, we have to talk about that game
- 32:44Jaden Daniels 25 for 31 226 passing yards to touchdowns
- 32:507.3 yards per attempt in a 80.6
- 32:52completion percentage Jaden Daniels again
- 32:5511 attempts for 66 rushing yards six rushing yards per carry and two rushes of 10 plus yards or more Terry McLaurin
- 33:0310 targets for seven receptions 73 receiving yards to touchdowns and 10.4 receiving yards per reception
- 33:10Spencer rattler 10 for 21 135 passing yards one touchdown
- 33:156.4 yards per attempt in a 46.6 completion percentage
- 33:19Kendra Miller 9 attempts for 46 rushing yards
- 33:235.1 rushing yards per carry and three rushes of 10 plus yards or more
- 33:28Marquez Valden scantling seven targets for two receptions 64 receiving yards and 32 receiving yards per reception
- 33:37This is what I will say about this game
- 33:39And this may be somewhat of a hot topic, but we'll talk more about it once the season is completely over
- 33:46Spencer rattler showed a little bit of something now. I'm not saying he's you know the franchise quarterback, but I am saying he had a little
- 33:53Grit-tomb, okay? He he almost carried this team to victory over Washington. I'm just saying
- 33:59Just saying alright because the quarterback that they had in prior to that. He was a deer in headlights
- 34:05He could not do a ding-durn thing. All right, but when we shift things over to Washington though Washington was really doing their thing
- 34:13Okay, Terry McClure was making some crazy catches the offense
- 34:18Start to look like you know its old self before they started to lose against a few teams Steelers, but moving forward
- 34:26Okay, the defense was doing their thing as well now
- 34:29Once the game started to unravel a little bit that's when things started getting a little bit shakily because then Spencer Ravler was just like
- 34:37Okay, you know what? I really don't have nothing really to play for but you know a roster spot and just to you know show teams that you know
- 34:44I'm that guy because originally when he was coming out of
- 34:49South Carolina if I'm not mistaken
- 34:51People were saying he was the first round pick me personally. I don't I didn't see I thought he was a second round pick
- 34:56But that's another story for another day, but he was showing a lot
- 35:00He was showing a lot of grit. He was you know when the pocket was collapsing. He stood in there made some key throws
- 35:06He was just doing it all he was putting on a clinic if you are a Saints fan
- 35:12I think that's something that you can you know ride into
- 35:16Next year because right now you have uncertainty with Derek R
- 35:20You don't have another quarterback on this roster right now that you can say oh
- 35:26They can be a good replacement or a good bridge for the time being like no Spencer Ravler. I think he could do it
- 35:33He showed the arm talent. He showed the mobility. He showed the play calling
- 35:37He showed his ability to adapt to the different types of coverages and the different types of schemes and blitzes that Washington was throwing at
- 35:46He was holding his own. He was doing his thing. I'm sorry
- 35:49If I am the Saints GM, I'm riding with Spencer Rattler
- 35:54Young quarterback cheap and you can build around him compared to trying to roll it with Derek R
- 36:01And you guys don't get anywhere just saying now for Washington though. We're getting to the end of the season
- 36:08Hey
- 36:10You want to keep on stacking up these wins because again you are in a spot where
- 36:14Most likely you're gonna go up against a tough opponent in the playoffs
- 36:18I'm just just letting you know right now
- 36:21You may have to go up against one of those teams on the West either Rams or the Cardinals if I'm not mistaken
- 36:26You do not want that because I know you're gonna lose
- 36:29But at the same time
- 36:32This is a game that you can you know leave your hat on because Jaden Daniels looked really good
- 36:38from running to
- 36:40Passing to everything else Jaden Daniels look like him old self
- 36:45He looked comfortable and that is something that you can bank on the run game was actually
- 36:50Looking pretty good. I'm not gonna lie now
- 36:53I'm not just saying that because Jaden Daniels was was the run game. No, but again this team
- 37:00Has surpassed all
- 37:02Expectations I think that everyone had of this team prior to the season starting because if you would have told me that
- 37:08Washington will be where they are right now. I
- 37:12Would have called you a liar, but so far they have proved the naysayers wrong and
- 37:17This further proves that the front offense hit on the Jaden Daniels draft pick
- 37:22And now you have to continue to surround him with talent because I'm telling you right now
- 37:27If they continue to hit on their draft picks
- 37:30And if they bring in a big fish of a receiver for Jaden Daniels, this team is gonna be super competitive
- 37:38I would not be surprised if they make an NFC
- 37:41Championship run because they're not making to the Super Bowl. I'm just letting you guys know that for all you commander fans out
- 37:46There just letting it be no having a whiner what I'm even talking like this. It's the ADHD now onto the last game a
- 37:54Game that I'm low key was was actually starting like it was a really good game
- 37:59I had to watch this game a few times back Green Bay, Seattle, okay, Jordan love 20 for 27
- 38:05229 passing yards to touchdowns 8.5 yards per attempt in a 74.1 completion percentage
- 38:12Josh Jacobs 26 attempts for 94 rushing yards
- 38:153.6 rushing yards per carry one touchdown and one rush of 10 plus yards or more Christian Watson
- 38:21six targets for three receptions
- 38:2456 receiving yards 18.7 receiving yards per reception Geno Smith 15 for
- 38:291919 149 passing yards one interception 6.8 yards per attempt in a 78.9 completion percentage
- 38:36Sam Howell 5 or 14 24 passing yards one pick 1.7 yards per attempt in a 35.7 completion percentage now before I go any further
- 38:45You're probably wondering why do I have two quarterbacks in?
- 38:48Because Geno Smith got hurt and then Sam Howell had to come in I think you have to finish the game
- 38:52All right, cool moving forward Zach Charbonnet eight attempts for 54 rushing yards
- 38:576.8 rushing yards per carry and one touchdown and two rushes of 10 plus yards or more
- 39:02I was getting ahead of myself Jackson Smith and Jigba 12 targets for 10 receptions
- 39:0783 receiving yards and 8.3 receiving yards per reception Josh Jacobs since going to the Packers has been phenomenal
- 39:16like I think we have to talk about how
- 39:20There's someone of like a little bit of a renaissance with the running back position
- 39:24When we look at you know some of the tier one and tier two running backs who were free agents and signed with other teams and
- 39:31The impact that they've had since joining those teams like safe one Barkley
- 39:36Their run game elite the Packers run game low key could you could probably make a strong argument that it's either
- 39:44You know really good to close to elite. Okay
- 39:47Christian Watson this young receiving core. They're doing their thing. Okay, Jordan love was doing their thing
- 39:54And you know when we look at when we look at this game this shows the
- 40:00inexperience when it comes to the Seahawks, especially with their defense, right?
- 40:05Everyone is still getting used to the new scheme
- 40:07Everyone's getting used to you know new players being guiding whatnot
- 40:10So it's a lot of growing pains for this Seahawks defense because it is fairly young
- 40:16But you know, this is this isn't as bad as what people think it is
- 40:21I still believe the Seahawks are definitely gonna be in the playoffs now
- 40:25Are they gonna be behind the playoffs loan the playoffs in the middle?
- 40:28I don't know because even in their division
- 40:31it's still too close to call because
- 40:33You still have the Rams that are still in it. You still have the Cardinals that are still in it
- 40:38Half of the division is still in it. So it's still anyone's division at this point now
- 40:43If I could make a prediction right now, who do I think will probably win?
- 40:47I would say right now it's the Rams the Rams right now since their buy have been red hot and
- 40:54They have gone up against some very tough defenses
- 40:57They have gone up against some tough teams and they have been able to hold their own
- 41:01You have a veteran quarterback and Matthew Stafford who is very experienced
- 41:05You have a dangerous receiving core and Pukinacua and Cooper Cup the run game is sufficient
- 41:11The defense is also a you know a core that you cannot sleep on with Jared verse
- 41:17You know creating the pressure that he's been able to create and Brandon fist being just a wrecking ball on the defensive line as well
- 41:24This isn't a team that you can sleep on so only time will tell but I'm gonna end this episode here
