- 0:17SPEAKER_01: Write us a review while you're there too.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: And now, here's Stephen Jeff.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Johnny and Jeff.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: It is so great to be here tonight.
- 0:27SPEAKER_02: It's you know, it's summer, it's warm, it's heating up, the political scene is heating up.
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: It's just it's such an exciting time.
- 0:35SPEAKER_05: Oh, I agree.
- 0:35SPEAKER_05: And how's it going, Steve?
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Hey, it's going great.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: And you know, I gotta tell you, speaking of the political scene, you know, of course, we've you know, we've got we're in an election year.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: It's in case anyone's been maybe in a coma, didn't know that we're in an election year, you know, and and of course we do we do a comedy podcast, and some comedians do a lot of political stuff, but we've uh you know, we've always kind of avoided that because you know, it's funny, you know, political jokes is kind of like a teeter totter.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: If you go one way, then half the audience is going to be upset, and if you go the other way, then the other half will be upset.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: And if you jump on, you remember like teeter tires, you'd you'd like jump on or you give somebody to wait a whole lot less than you, right?
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: And then you jump on and you say, Oh, this will be big.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: Well, it was big, but then it stopped moving, right?
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: Because they can't lift you, right?
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: So that's right.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: I I don't know, you know, it's just that's kind of why we haven't done a lot of political stuff, you know.
- 1:31SPEAKER_05: I don't think we ever found that sweet spot, and it's too bad because there are funny political jokes.
- 1:37SPEAKER_05: Oh, they're they tend to, you know, I I guess you could try to make them middle of the road, but at the end of the day, they're just funny, and it is unfortunate that one side, you know, will get offended by it.
- 1:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah, let me give you an example, see if this one works for you.
- 1:52SPEAKER_05: This is true.
- 1:53SPEAKER_05: I had this uh friend, Mark, I think you may have known Mark, and he's a Republican or wasn't it?
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: Yes, I know Mark, or I should say Newmark, right?
- 2:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, New Mark, yeah, and we fought all the time about politics, and we just never saw eye to eye on it.
- 2:10SPEAKER_05: And as the years went on, similar to the way you know the world is, we got even more hostile towards each other and hated each other even more.
- 2:19SPEAKER_05: It was really sad because we were best friends uh a while back, and then when all of this fragmentation came, it it was it was really bad.
- 2:27SPEAKER_05: And then to make matters worse, one day I'm out in the outside, and all of a sudden I see that a car comes and hits Mark.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: You you weren't driving, were you, Jeff?
- 2:38SPEAKER_05: I was not driving.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's good, that's good.
- 2:41SPEAKER_05: But he was he was injured terribly.
- 2:43SPEAKER_05: And I looked and and barely conscious, and I go up to him and I go, I go, Mark, Mark, are you okay?
- 2:50SPEAKER_05: And he says, I think I'm gonna die, but before I die, I I need for you to do something for me.
- 2:56SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, Mark, I'll do whatever you want.
- 2:59SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 3:00SPEAKER_05: And he says, he wants me to contact the Democratic Party and write them so that he could become an official member of the Democratic Party before he dies.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: Like a deathbed conversion, if you will, right?
- 3:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and I and you know, I was in shock, um, but I I didn't want to argue with him.
- 3:20SPEAKER_05: I mean, here he is getting close to to dying.
- 3:24SPEAKER_05: Uh, so as fast as I could, I grabbed my phone and I filled out all the forms really fast, and I finalized the process, and I came back to him and told him that I had succeeded and that he is now a Democrat.
- 3:37SPEAKER_05: And he looked at me, and you know, he's he's almost dying.
- 3:42SPEAKER_05: And I could see in his face that, you know, there's a little bit of a smile.
- 3:45SPEAKER_05: And I said, I have to ask you, after all these years of being a Republican, why now do you want to be a Democrat on your deathbed?
- 3:54SPEAKER_05: I'll never forget what he said.
- 3:56SPEAKER_05: He said, Now this world will have one less fucking Democrat.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: Now go fuck yourself.
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: You know, Mark was always a little extreme, a little extreme there, but it was a little extreme.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: It was kind of funny, you know?
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: Oh, it is.
- 4:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know, I kind of get it.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: It was always a little out there, but you know, but that's I think is what we're talking about with the with the divisions and the split in the country.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: Uh we don't like say we don't really talk about politics really on the show here, but you know, I find that maybe it's the election year, maybe it's just the the the zeitgeist, the onks, the aroma, the celestial bodies.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: I don't, I don't know.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: I don't know, but I find myself dreaming about politics, which you know really a fairly safe place to think about politics when you're asleep, right?
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: You know, but we had a lot of show, a lot of shows about dreams, and I should probably ask one of those dream people.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: But let me give you an example of this.
- 4:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah, please.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: One night I was why I start to watch some political show about all the presidents, and it was, you know, I gotta tell you, by the time that show came on, see, I'd watched a movie before it, and by the time that show came on, the pop-up was kicking, and I really don't remember a whole lot.
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: It was a PBS documentary, and I may have slept through some of it because I remember they talked about Andrew Jackson, and then the next thing I knew, they were talking about Calvin Coolidge.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: I think I missed something, uh-huh, but I digress, so yeah, I turned it off with Coolidge, you know, and I was ready to go to bed.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: But the movie I'd watched before that, of course, was you know, the devil's abdicate, you know, the Keanu Reeves.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I'd watched that movie before.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: So I go to sleep after watching the president's show, and I have this dream.
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: And in the dream, Trump gets COVID.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: And I know that happened in real life.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: You're gonna say, No, that really did happen.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: No, it did.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know, I know, but in this one, he gets COVID and he dies.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: He dies of COVID in the dream, and wow, you know, now I know that's probably gonna shock and that's gonna, you know, really rile up half the audience, but that half can maybe think that okay, in my dream, it was Hunter Biden or Dr.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: Fauci or Taylor Swift or you know, somebody somebody comparable, you know, whatever, but but I digressed.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: My dream, you know, it was Trump, it was him.
- 6:17SPEAKER_02: So anyway, Trump, you know, goes to hell, right?
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: And yeah, I just watched this devil's advocate movie, right?
- 6:25SPEAKER_04: And right, of course, he wouldn't really go to hell, right?
- 6:28SPEAKER_04: I mean, we're just saying in that movie, oh, just in the dream, just in the dream, in the dream that Trump will go to hell.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: Many people are saying he would not.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: No, no, I I've heard many people say, but in the dream, in this dream, of course.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: So, of course, you know who the devil is, the devil is Al Pacino, right?
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you just see this movie.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: So he goes to hell, he's standing in front of Pacino, and Pacino does that thing he does.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: You know, he's been doing this since like panic in Needle Park.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: He he he'll look at you and he'll pause and he'll keep looking at you, and then he'll look to the side and he'll say, But here's the problem.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: You know, you know how he does that?
- 7:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, it's a great thing, exactly.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: Maybe maybe maybe that's the Nero that does that.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: See, if I'd been born Italian, like we were talking last week, I I'd know, which I but I think it's Pacino, but but I digress.
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: So he does that thing and he says, You know, here's the problem.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: You're on my list, you're definitely coming here, but I don't have room for you.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: You know, you you can't go to the other place.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: No, no, no, you're staying here, but I don't have room for you.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: So he does that, he does it again.
- 7:29SPEAKER_02: So here's the deal.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: I've got three people here who weren't quite as bad as you.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna let one of them go.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: Then you gotta take their place.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: In fact, you know what?
- 7:41SPEAKER_02: I'll even let you decide which one.
- 7:44SPEAKER_04: So totally fair.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Trump says, Well, that sounds pretty good.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: Okay, so he agrees.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: So Pacino slash devil opens opens the door, and it's this room, it's like a hotel room, but yeah, it opens this door, and inside is Richard Nixon, right?
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: Richard Nixon's there, and he's he's got like a pool in the room.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: I mean, I you know, I don't know, it's deep.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: So he dives in, swims to the bottom, comes back up, climbs out, dives back in, swims to the bottom, does this over and over, does this for eternity.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: This is his punishment, right?
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: This is his hell, right?
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: So Trump looks at that and says, No, no, no, I don't think I'm I don't see despite what people say.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: I know a lot of people say I'm a great swimmer, but I'm not.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: And I'm a swimmer, and I I'm the best swimmer, no one swims like me, but I but really but really I'm not a good swimmer, and I don't think I could do that all day long, so it's okay, and all day, like forever, right?
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: So, so Pacino says, All right, Pacino slash devil says, All right, takes him to the room next door.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Next door is Spiro Agnew versus Nixon's VP, right?
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: Disgraced VP, yeah, and now he's got a it's a completely different room, no pool, no pool in his room, let me tell you, just a bunch of rocks, a bunch of big rocks, you know, and Agnew's there, he's got the sledgehammer, and all he does all day is swing the sledgehammer, breaking the rocks, breaking the rocks, and so it does this over and over again for eternity.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: So, you know, Trump says, No, no, no, I can I got I got this problem in my shoulder, I got bone spurs in my shoulder.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: I I'd be in constant agony if I just break rocks all day.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: I can't do that, right?
- 9:26SPEAKER_02: So devil goes down third door, opens the door, and inside is Bill Clinton.
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: Now I know Bill Clinton's still alive, but this is my dream, okay?
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't know.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: It's Bill Clinton, and he's laying there naked on the floor, and he's got his arms, he's kind of in an X position.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: You know, you see that in some movies, so at least some of the movies my mom and I watch together.
- 9:50SPEAKER_02: We see we see that, but he's he's laying in a kind of like an X position.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: He's got his arms tied diagonally, his legs tied diagonally, right?
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: Laying on the floor naked, you know, spread eagle, bent over him is Monica Lewinsky, who is still alive.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: Yes, I know, but this is my dream.
- 10:06SPEAKER_02: I understand.
- 10:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I understand that.
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: Okay, but she's bent over him, and you know, she's uh well, you know, kind of doing what they did, you know.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so Pump will look at this way, watches it for a while because it's kind of entertaining, right?
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: So he stands there for a few minutes and says, Hey, uh, yeah, I think I can handle this.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: So Pacino, the devil, says, All right, okay, we'll put you in here then.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: He says, All right, Monica, you're free to go.
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: You know, I I mean, maybe, I don't know, maybe was that a fair and balanced dream?
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 10:37SPEAKER_02: It made sense, you know.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: It kind of it kind of fit the what I had watched and where I was, you know what I mean?
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, and I don't think you could put Fauci in there.
- 10:47SPEAKER_05: I just don't think that fits.
- 10:49SPEAKER_05: I think Trump really fits, especially with the third one.
- 10:52SPEAKER_05: Well, even the second one, he's not gonna do manual labor.
- 10:55SPEAKER_05: I mean, he's a rich guy, and yeah, that you know, so he's not gonna choose that.
- 10:59SPEAKER_05: Choosing oral sex in in hell for the rest of your life.
- 11:03SPEAKER_05: I could see that kind of mimics what Trump is sort of used to anyway.
- 11:08SPEAKER_05: So I think it works.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: Well, there you go.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: Hell, Russia, wherever, you know, right?
- 11:13SPEAKER_05: It just could work, you know.
- 11:14SPEAKER_05: I do think though, that the idea of the two parties, we're back to this sort of uh, you know, antagonism between Democrats and Republicans.
- 11:24SPEAKER_05: I'm not sure it's that important anymore.
- 11:26SPEAKER_05: I think we have spent a lot of time worrying about what party is in control, you know, at the local or state or in the White House or the federal level.
- 11:36SPEAKER_05: And I'm not sure it really makes that much of a difference.
- 11:39SPEAKER_05: We think we have a say and we have an influence because our party wins or or we think we're in trouble when they lose, but I just don't think it really matters that much.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: I agree with that.
- 11:50SPEAKER_02: Remember back when we were young, we used to think, hey, one person can make a difference.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: I can really make a difference and change the world.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: And you know, now it seems like money talks and and people walk, unfortunately.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: So, you know, it seems like money controls the election, and who both parties serve the same money, and whoever wins, it really, you know, it it really doesn't change for most of us, you know.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: Uh it's just it's it's sad but true.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: It's a little depressing, a little negative, but I think a lot of people feel that way.
- 12:23SPEAKER_05: I have thought that way in the past until I just happened to meet a guy over the weekend that sort of breaks the mold.
- 12:31SPEAKER_05: He's rich, he's heavily into politics, but he wants to do the right thing for everybody.
- 12:37SPEAKER_05: I think that's a rare thing, but he just sort of checks all the boxes.
- 12:41SPEAKER_05: And if you don't mind, I invited him to come on our show today.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's great.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: You know, I didn't know there were people still like that.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: Um, there used to be some people like that way back, but I I didn't know they still existed.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: I you I see them on the other side of the glass.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: Here, let me let me tap, please.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: I just I enjoy Dabby so much.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Would you like to introduce him?
- 13:00SPEAKER_05: Sure.
- 13:00SPEAKER_05: Let me introduce uh Stan Walsh.
- 13:03SPEAKER_05: Uh welcome to the Steve and Jeff Show, Stan.
- 13:06SPEAKER_05: Before you answer, I must tell you that I heard when you were speaking at the local city council meeting last Friday, and I was so impressed.
- 13:14SPEAKER_05: Plus, you brought donuts for everyone.
- 13:16SPEAKER_05: I mean, you just it was just a great evening.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Well, well, thanks, Steve, for having me on the show.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: And what a nice compliment.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: I really loved your intro and the discussion that you and Jeff and Steve were having.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: And I hope that maybe in the long run here I can instill some optimism of that that things can get better and that we can make a difference.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: Boy, I hope you're right.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: I'd love that to be true.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: And you know, I I gotta tell you, Stan, I like what I'm hearing already.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: So let's, you know, to get started here.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: How would you say you have made a difference?
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm glad you asked, Steve.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: Uh uh and it is Steve, correct?
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, good.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Over the last 10 years or so, I've supported people and causes that I believe are important and that make all of us stronger because we are one country.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: We are not divided by red and blue and green and yellow.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: We are one country.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: So I've done that through a series of grants and political action committees.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: I have helped fund some of them and some of them I've started myself.
- 14:22SPEAKER_05: That sounds great.
- 14:24SPEAKER_05: So is it fair to say that you're a lobbyist then?
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Exactly, but I prefer to be called a consultant.
- 14:30SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, consultant probably is a better term because I know a lot of people think lobbyists are, you know, we're talking about money being a problem.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: A lot of people think lobbyists are the ones who are creating that problem and they're putting the money into the election cycles and creating this whole problem.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: You're so right, Steve.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: And that's what I've been up against.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: You know, people really knew what I did that made their lives better.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: I think that would change their mind and this perception that lobbying is evil and is bad.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: Uh maybe this show will help uh convince people that lobbyists are good for this country.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: Well, I hope so, Stan.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: So, you know, starting at the beginning, tell me how you got started and what it what is it really that you do as a consultant or a lobbyist, if you want to call it that.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: Viva, I started a few years ago.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: I think I supported a few PACs, uh, political action committees, as I mentioned before, and I got involved in a few issues that I cared about, and it just gradually grew.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: Now I run some of these PACs myself.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: I support others, and I also give out some grants to worthy people.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: So, for example, as far as the PACs go, Citizens for Freedom PAC that I started four years ago is doing amazing things.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Their goal is to make sure that every citizen is free to work and make a living.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, that sounds wonderful.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: That sounds perfect.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: Uh, that's a great cause.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: You know, I Stan, I've always been so interested in helping people who are homeless, and you know, maybe they're here from other countries, they're just seeking work and to make their life better.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: That's great, Steve.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: So many people feel that way.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: And it's very important that anybody who was born in this country who speaks our language, has not committed any crimes, can get a good job and pay taxes.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: But that group of people is actually a lot smaller than most people think.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: For example, I've seen some statistics from the PAC statistics for those who want freedom that would just amaze you and scare you a bit.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: I know it scared me.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: For example, did you know that a hundred percent of all illegal immigrants are guilty of a crime?
- 16:45SPEAKER_05: That doesn't seem possible.
- 16:47SPEAKER_05: It's scary, but I'm not sure that that's true.
- 16:51SPEAKER_05: I mean, from my experience, uh the people that I've met who are new to this country, they just seem like good people, just like you and me and Steve.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Well, that's what the PAC, people for free America would like you to believe.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: But think about it.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: If you are in this country illegally, then you are a criminal.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: So basically, they all are.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: See how that works?
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: And just for the record, I also contribute to the People for Free America pack as well.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: Well, Stan, I I guess that's technically true.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: You know, if they've committed a crime, then they can't vote or can't join the military, but they could run for president.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: But I don't know, I don't know.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: But Stan, you know, it sounds like you're supporting conflicting PACs.
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: Why do you support that PAC?
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: That's easy to explain, Steve.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: Uh, you know, I'm one of the largest employers in the fruit industry, you know, where they pick that fruit.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: It's important to give people a chance to work in the fields and make a life for themselves.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: That way they can be free of taxes, benefits, and minimum wages.
- 17:54SPEAKER_05: That sort of makes sense, but I'm not sure that's a pack that I would I would want to be a part of.
- 18:00SPEAKER_05: Are there any are there any other packs you support that we should consider?
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Since you're in the entertainment industry, you're probably one of those people that believes that a woman should have the right to choose.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: I completely agree with you.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: That's why I started the pack Mothers for Freedom.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: Its goal is to make sure that all women, legal women, that is, have the freedom to choose what to do with their own bodies.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: You know, that sounds like something that I think a lot of people would be interested in.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: I think most would probably agree with that.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: But you know, same when you say legal woman, what what what's a legal woman?
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: Is that like a lawyer who's a woman?
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, what is what does that mean?
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: Legal woman.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: No, I think lawyers could vote.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: I think lawyers should have a role in in this country a lot.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: You know, a lot of these packs are run by lawyers and some would say criminals.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: But no, basically, uh a legal woman is someone who still has her rights.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: Uh, I first got involved with this clause when my sister needed an abortion, and we had to go all the way to Michigan to get it.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: And I think that was wrong.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, by the time we got through all that traffic with the Indiana-Illinois border, I mean, she became a late-term abortion statistic.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: It was just horrible.
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: Oh, Stan, boy, I can relate.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: I man, I've been stuck there so many times.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: It's it is unfair.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: You know, I I was at work one day, and when I got to my car, there was a flyer from this pack called the Unborn Fetuses for Freedom.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: Now, I'm wondering, do unborn fetuses fund that pack?
- 19:33SPEAKER_02: I mean, that it just it seemed it seemed a little odd, you know.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: Who who funds these?
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, Steve, actually, I fund them.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: That's one of my packs.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: It's kind of a complicated issue.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I still believe that women should make their own decisions about their body.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: But then I started this for-profit adoption service, and I suddenly learned how wonderful it was to give a woman who can't have a child the chance to be a mother.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: And through adoption, you can accomplish that.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: But unfortunately, since so many of the states still allow abortions, the the pickings were getting pretty slim and the amount of desirable babies had really shrunk.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Almost, you know, especially in my stock of babies to put up for adoption.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: And that's just bad business.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, bad for America.
- 20:25SPEAKER_05: I guess adoption is a good thing too.
- 20:27SPEAKER_05: Uh, can can you clarify what a desirable baby is?
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: Sure, and thank you for letting me correct myself.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: This is how PACs, like First Amendment lovers of freedom, go after everyday folks like you and me, and they just want to bash us and and give us a hard time.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: I remember when I started Defend America, I got so much bad press because people thought that it was one of those radical gun rights packs, just disgraceful, if you ask me.
- 21:00SPEAKER_05: Sure.
- 21:01SPEAKER_05: Just for the record, what does Defend America believe?
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Just that violence with guns or any other weapon is wrong, and we should honor those who fall victim to such violence.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: This is what everybody should believe.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: We should honor those brave heroes.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Tell me this: who is braver than a parent who loses a child to a gun incident, but still supports the Second Amendment without any restrictions?
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: To me, that's a hero.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: And because they are brave, that of course helps us to defend our country and keep us strong.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm not sure I follow, I'm not sure there's anything to follow, but you know, I I guess I do get that freedom can mean a lot of different things and can come in many ways, but I I guess the one constant with freedom seems to be that it does need to be in the name of the pack.
- 21:59unknown: It's
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Almost like a requirement.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: Uh anyway, Stan, can you tell us about the grants that you give out?
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: And I understand as a lobbyist you're or as a consultant, let's say, you're giving out money.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: Who do you give it to?
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: Does it go to everyday people?
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: Uh how do you how do you decide?
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: How do you choose who is worthy of your money?
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: Steve, I'm I'm really glad you asked me about that because it's probably the most rewarding thing that I do.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: Basically, I try to find everyday heroes that make a difference.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: People like you and Jeff.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: And if you don't mind me saying, I think this has worked out great with some great results.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: Well, hey, that sounds great, but you know, how do you choose who gets the grants and how much money are we talking about?
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: How much do you maybe give to each and how much total?
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, this is where it gets really exciting, Steve, and gosh darn rewarding.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: As you know, most politicians like to line their pockets with donations from rich people like me in packs that I run all the time.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: I know this because I gave a lot of donations myself to some of those politicians, and it would work.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: For the most part, they would do what I wanted them to do, but not always.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Um, but unlike politicians, judges who really carry, they're the backbone of our country.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: Those people are not allowed to get reimbursed for making excellent decisions that become the law of the land and make our lives better.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: I think that's very unfair.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: So I reached out to some of the members of the Supreme Court, some of the justices, I'm not gonna name names, to find out ways to make their lives better, which will allow them to make more good decisions.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: If you ask me, it's been a win-win situation for everybody.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: As far as the amount of money I give them uh in their grants, it really depends on what they need and and what they feel comfortable in taking.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: For some, it's as little as a nice dinner every once in a while, whereas for others, they might need some help with uh college tuition payments.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: And for one guy I know, uh I'm not gonna give his name, but uh let's just say that his kids will never have to eat it, long John Silvers again.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: And if I ask for anything in return for doing a good job, all I want them to do is to make America great again.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: Is that too much to ask for?
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: I think not.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: You know, you make a good point there, Stan, and and really, according to some of those judges, if you give them the money after they render the decision, it's a tip, it's not a bribe.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: See, if you do it before, it might be a bribe, but it's oh, if you just say that you'll do it before, but then actually do it after, then you're you're okay.
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: It's a tip, and no taxes on that tip, let me tell you.
- 24:52SPEAKER_02: Oh gosh.
- 24:52SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, Stan, this is this has just been fascinating.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: You know, it it's really unusual that somebody that does what you do is willing to go on a show and and talk about it openly.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: It usually is much more hidden.
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: So we really don't get to learn much about you know what you do.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: And I'll tell you, uh, that is one of the great things about our show.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: We get to learn so much about the world from guests like you.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: I want to thank you for being on the show.
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: And oh, you know, by the way, I want to thank you for our first company car.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Well, it you know what?
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: That's the the least I can do.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: And just in case anybody is listening out there, I don't have any idea what you're talking about, uh, about a company car.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Uh it's uh, you know, but I'm sure it's a very nice car, and I'm sure somebody gave it to you, and and you could probably thank them.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: But I would say, as far as what I do, what I do is just I'm a giver.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: That's what I am.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: I've always been a giver.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: That's what made me famous, that's what's made me rich, that's what's made me the person I am today.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: And I think that goes the same for the two of you.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: It's been a pleasure to be on your show.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: I look forward to talking to you again sometime.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: And and uh and let's make the Steve and Jeff show um a great show again.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, Stan, I couldn't agree more.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: And I just let me clarify in case anyone like with the IRS or anything is listening, that we don't have the car yet, but it was promised to us if we did something, and now we're going to get the car, so it's a tip.
- 26:27SPEAKER_02: See, it's not a bribe, it's a tip, and there are no taxes on the tip, right?
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: This is all this this sounds way over my pay grade.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: Uh, I I don't really know exactly what you're talking about, but this might be a good time to stop before we all get in a little bit of trouble.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, I it's a funny story.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: I ran into this when I was working with the Supreme Court, this whole idea of tips, you know, doing stuff for people.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: And I think at the end of the day, the decisions that they have been making, I think they're unprecedented.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: They have made this country exactly what it should be.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: And I I'm very proud about what I've done.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: And like I said, I really have no idea what you're talking about as far as your car.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Well, Stan, I I certainly would agree that this Supreme Court is unprecedented.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: And you know, we feel so good about having you on the show and maybe giving us a little wink wink tip that gets some really good mileage, I might add.
- 27:28SPEAKER_02: And I must say, Stan, we're even more honored that you've decided to debut a new commercial from a new pack of yours on our show.
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: That is such a thrill.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: Johnny, play that new commercial of Stans.
- 27:43SPEAKER_03: Kamala is Asian.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: Kamala is black.
- 27:47SPEAKER_03: Asian.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: Black.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: Stop.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: You're both right.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: I know it bends the brain, but people can be more than one nationality.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: Kamala is two.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: Two.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: Two nationalities in one.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: And Kamala comes with a golden drop of Waltzen to stay fresh throughout the whole campaign.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: If it hurts the head to think of mixed ethnicity, think of all those Irish people who married Germans.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: Just like that.
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: Two nationalities.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: Remember, Kamala is two, two, two nationalities in one.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: Paid for by the people who understand origin stories for Freedom Pack, Zoe Kravitz Treasure.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: This has been the Citizens United production in association with Alinsky Rules Media.
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: Be sure and follow or subscribe to the Stephen Jeff Show wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Write us a review while you're there too.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: This is Johnny speaking.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Steve's mom and I support a lot of packs too.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: We have the packs of cigarettes, the vodka six packs, and even the bears packers, too.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: I better pack it in.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: She's expecting me to help her pack for the trip to Beloit this weekend.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: Watch out, Wisconsin.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: Good night.
