  Happy Thursday, April 2nd, everyone. This is Have Faith, Let It Begin.

  My name is Angel Santana, and we are continuing on the road to the resurrection.

  This week, we have talked about silence.
• 1:06
  We've talked about the weight we carry. And today, we're talking about something
• 1:12
  that can be really difficult for a lot of us.

  Surrender. Because if we're honest, we like control.
• 1:20
  We like to know that something's coming. We like to know what's coming next,
• 1:24
  right? We like to have a plan.
• 1:26
  We like to feel like we're in charge of our own lives.
• 1:30
  And when things don't go the way we planned, that's when it gets uncomfortable.

  And that's when we start trying to fix everything. That's when we hold on tighter.

  That's when we try to figure it all out. We try to figure it all out in our own way.

  But surrender, that feels different. Surrender means letting go.
• 1:50
  And for many people, letting go feels like losing. feels like giving up, feels like weakness.

  But the Bible shows up, and the Bible shows us something very different.

  Before the cross, before the pain, before everything that was about to happen,
• 2:09
  Jesus went to the garden of Jessamine, and in that moment, he prayed.

  Not because it was easy, but because it was hard.
• 2:19
  Matthew 26, verse 39 says, my father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.

  Yet not as I will, but as you will. Hold on to that and think about it, guys.
• 2:33
  Even Jesus, in his humility, his humanity, felt the weight of what was coming.
• 2:40
  And he didn't ignore it. He didn't pretend it was hard.

  He brought it to God. But then he said something powerful. Not my will, but yours.

  That's surrender. Not giving up, but trusting God enough to let him lead.

  And that's what we struggle sometimes with because we want God's help,

  but we still want control.
• 3:04
  We want the blessing, but we don't always want to release the plan.
• 3:08
  We want peace, but we don't want to let go of the worry.
• 3:12
  Surrender doesn't mean you stop crying or carrying.
• 3:16
  It doesn't mean you're stopping to carry. It means that you just,
• 3:20
  it means you trust God more than you're understanding.
• 3:23
  It means saying, Lord, I don't have all the answers, but I trust you do.

  Lord, I don't know how this will work out, but I believe you're in control.

  Lord, this is hard, but I'm placing it in your hands.

  And that takes strength, real strength. Because surrender is not weakness.

  Surrender is faith in action. It's choosing to trust God, even when you don't
• 3:48
  see the full picture. is choosing peace over constant worry.

  It's choosing faith over fear. As we continue walking toward Easter,
• 3:59
  I want to challenge you with another thing today. What are you holding on to?

  What are you holding on to that God is asking you to release? Is it control?
• 4:09
  Is it fear? Is it a situation you keep trying to fix on your own?
• 4:15
  Whatever it is, bring it to God and say, not my will, but yours.
• 4:21
  Because sometimes the breakthrough comes not when we hold tighter,
• 4:26
  but when we finally let go. Let's pray.

  Heavenly Father, help us learn how to surrender. Help us trust.
• 4:34
  Help us trust you when it's hard.
• 4:38
  Give us the strength to release control and the faith to believe that you are
• 4:42
  leading us in the right direction.
• 4:44
  Remind us that surrender is not weakness. It's trusting you completely.
