- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with her Radio. It is a very special episode of
- 0:07Speaker 1: the Almost Famous Podcast. I feel like we've been having
- 0:10Speaker 1: very special episodes here recently. Uh. Today is Man Panel Monday,
- 0:15Speaker 1: and I have two of my favorites, Jason Mesnick and
- 0:18Speaker 1: Bob Guiney joining me as co host. What's up gentlemen? Hello?
- 0:24Speaker 1: I guess Bob used to do the panel all the time,
- 0:27Speaker 1: didn't you. Yeah, you used to do the Man Panel
- 0:30Speaker 1: on the Today's Show a lot. It was. It was
- 0:32Speaker 1: a lot of fun. A few times. Yeah, we did.
- 0:36Speaker 1: We definitely did. Got us in a lot of trouble. Actually,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I realized how little my opinion really matters when it
- 0:42Speaker 1: comes to that kind of stuff. The did you ever
- 0:47Speaker 1: feel like did you hear feedback from that panel? Oh?
- 0:51Speaker 1: My god, like like a crazy amount. And it's um,
- 0:55Speaker 1: you know, when I was the Bachelor many many years ago,
- 0:58Speaker 1: they didn't have social media back then, and so what
- 1:00Speaker 1: we had where all these chat rooms where people would
- 1:03Speaker 1: go in and basically just shred you. And it reminded
- 1:05Speaker 1: me of that. It reminded me of that, like I'd
- 1:07Speaker 1: go on there and give advice like why does my
- 1:09Speaker 1: man do this, and I'd be like, I think your
- 1:10Speaker 1: man is doing this because of this, and I was
- 1:12Speaker 1: the nice one, and uh, you know, I'd get just destroyed.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Where the feedback come from Twitter or something? Twitter, Instagram, Um,
- 1:21Speaker 1: they would post the links on Twitter and Instagram primarily
- 1:25Speaker 1: and Facebook, I suppose as well, but I don't go
- 1:27Speaker 1: to Facebook as much, so I would just get lit
- 1:29Speaker 1: up on Instagram. Oh my god. It was you know
- 1:32Speaker 1: what it was. It was humbling, made sure you had
- 1:34Speaker 1: a nice thick skin, didn't take yourself a little too seriously.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You know, it's good stuff. Yeah, the same thing is
- 1:40Speaker 1: gonna happen to day on here. So I'm glad you
- 1:42Speaker 1: guys joined us. Um, we are really cool. Fact before
- 1:49Speaker 1: we get going today, when we did the Man panel together,
- 1:52Speaker 1: we actually were able to be there on the last
- 1:54Speaker 1: I think it was the second to last day before
- 1:56Speaker 1: Kathy Lee Gifford officially left it to Day Show had
- 2:01Speaker 1: our last episode. It's special for me. That was a
- 2:04Speaker 1: big deal. It was it was it was two years ago,
- 2:08Speaker 1: you know, it was right before COVID and so, um,
- 2:11Speaker 1: it was kind of crazy because that when we first
- 2:14Speaker 1: started off doing that, we were doing those uh twice
- 2:18Speaker 1: a month. I think it was then, um, then it
- 2:21Speaker 1: went to once a month, and then it went to
- 2:23Speaker 1: kind of every now and then in spurts, you know.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But it was Kathy Lee's favorite segment. So when Kathy
- 2:29Speaker 1: lee left the show, we kind of left with her
- 2:31Speaker 1: with the intention of coming back. But then COVID happened
- 2:34Speaker 1: and the whole world changed and we haven't gotten the
- 2:36Speaker 1: call yet, but it's this might this might get us
- 2:39Speaker 1: back on their radar. Guys, this might do it. Yea.
- 2:42Speaker 1: We did it with Towards the end, we were doing
- 2:44Speaker 1: it with Jimmy Allen Jason, the country singer, and yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 1: he was kind of like such a great guy. Yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 1: great guy. He was kind of coming up and he
- 2:52Speaker 1: was he was popular back then. I think he had
- 2:54Speaker 1: a number one when we did it, and now he's
- 2:57Speaker 1: like one of the biggest, if not the biggest, thing
- 2:59Speaker 1: in country music. Oh yeah, he's everywhere. He's and he's
- 3:02Speaker 1: married now too. I don't know if you remember Ben,
- 3:04Speaker 1: but back then he would always be like, so God,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I mean, you know, what if I was the next Bachelor?
- 3:09Speaker 1: What would you guys think about that? Like he was
- 3:11Speaker 1: always picking our brains. I'm like you'd be amazing man.
- 3:14Speaker 1: But yeah, now he's married, very happily married. It's good
- 3:17Speaker 1: for him. He's a good dude. Jason. There was a
- 3:20Speaker 1: question that was asked we we actually went out to
- 3:22Speaker 1: uh a special episode. We went out to the Monterey
- 3:26Speaker 1: Peninsula with Chris Harrison. If you remember who that is,
- 3:30Speaker 1: the former host of The Bachelor. Yeah, yeah that guy.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, wells Adams, and Andrew Firestone, the four of us. Uh.
- 3:39Speaker 1: He went out to Monterey Peninsula, played well. Has had
- 3:43Speaker 1: a really interesting question for Andrew, and I want to
- 3:47Speaker 1: ask you guys the same thing. How often do you
- 3:50Speaker 1: get recognized from The Bachelor today? You're in very similar
- 3:55Speaker 1: places in life that Andrew's m I will tell you
- 3:58Speaker 1: what Andrew answered. I would like to hear from two you.
- 4:00Speaker 1: We'll start with Jason. Good question. I mean it's been
- 4:03Speaker 1: a it's been a heavy like downhill fall over the
- 4:06Speaker 1: last decade. I mean it used to be like people
- 4:10Speaker 1: would say something and then then it went to like hey,
- 4:14Speaker 1: then you hear him whisper as you walk by, right
- 4:16Speaker 1: like is that the dude? That the dude from the Bachelor? Uh?
- 4:19Speaker 1: Now I don't even it's probably once a week most
- 4:24Speaker 1: I mean it's not it's not. I mean, it still happens,
- 4:26Speaker 1: of course, but it's not like we I just wrote
- 4:28Speaker 1: a kid's children's book and we read the at the
- 4:31Speaker 1: a signing nearby, and people had no idea it was me,
- 4:34Speaker 1: except for one person goes, wait, you're that dude. I
- 4:38Speaker 1: was like, man, I'm not good at my marketing. What
- 4:40Speaker 1: the hell? You know? Jason? You know to be to
- 4:42Speaker 1: be fair though you didn't have a beard back then,
- 4:45Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Like, so I feel like
- 4:46Speaker 1: I feel like the beard maybe kind of makes it
- 4:48Speaker 1: more difficult for you to be recognized, you know what
- 4:50Speaker 1: I mean, That's what I would think, Yeah, what about you,
- 4:52Speaker 1: bob um. I still you know, it's interesting. There are
- 4:56Speaker 1: moments where I get it, where I get it kind
- 4:58Speaker 1: of a lot, and then there are other moments where,
- 5:01Speaker 1: you know, I could have like a knee on billboard
- 5:04Speaker 1: pointing at me and being like being with a rose
- 5:06Speaker 1: on it and be like, hey, but I was talking
- 5:08Speaker 1: about this just the other day. How um my mother
- 5:11Speaker 1: still thinks that I am like Elvis Presley in her head,
- 5:15Speaker 1: and she she'll be like, oh my gosh, I was
- 5:18Speaker 1: at the grocery store today and everyone's like, wait, your bachelor.
- 5:22Speaker 1: But Mom, I'm like, I'm like, Mom, that's that's interesting
- 5:25Speaker 1: because I was at that grocery store, you know, two
- 5:28Speaker 1: days ago, and no one even said a word to me.
- 5:31Speaker 1: But you're in the chicken section and somehow they recognize you. Okay.
- 5:35Speaker 1: You know what's funny my dad. My dad will go
- 5:38Speaker 1: to the grocery store and we don't even live in
- 5:40Speaker 1: the same state, but you know, a decade twelve years later,
- 5:43Speaker 1: he'll be up at the front of the line and
- 5:44Speaker 1: he'll be like, you know, my son Jason was the Bachelor.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I don't know where he liked classic that's my mom, dude.
- 5:54Speaker 1: It's it's so funny. And my mom will be like, yes,
- 5:57Speaker 1: I hear from a stella all the time she reaches
- 6:00Speaker 1: you know. I'm like, really because she doesn't really talk
- 6:02Speaker 1: to me very much. But that's nice. It does. I
- 6:05Speaker 1: was gonna say, it begs the question. Oh, I can
- 6:07Speaker 1: get it. I totally understand it. I can relate to that.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Jessin I was just talking about it last night. The
- 6:13Speaker 1: people in our lives, like the grandmothers, especially my grandmother. Um,
- 6:18Speaker 1: it's still like very much into it. I can't imagine
- 6:21Speaker 1: the things that are said to be like how you
- 6:25Speaker 1: how they enter that into conversation, Like you're at the
- 6:27Speaker 1: grocery store. Somebody walks by People magazine and used go,
- 6:30Speaker 1: remember right when my son was on the front of it,
- 6:32Speaker 1: And they go, what what do you mean? Tell me more?
- 6:35Speaker 1: And You're like, oh, never mind, it's not a big deal.
- 6:37Speaker 1: He was just the Bachelor. You might know him. You
- 6:40Speaker 1: may have heard of him, but I don't know. Yeah,
- 6:43Speaker 1: it's that's my mom for sure. Sounds like Jason. It
- 6:45Speaker 1: sounds like we all got that family member, Like I
- 6:47Speaker 1: couldn't be a professional athlete, so I might as well
- 6:50Speaker 1: do something that they're you know, they can talk about Jason.
- 6:53Speaker 1: You just mentioned your children's book. Tell everybody about it.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Oh well, I got a platform you Okay. So going back,
- 7:00Speaker 1: this is even before I was on the Bachelor. My
- 7:03Speaker 1: son would I think he first when he first walked
- 7:06Speaker 1: in on me taking a poop, He's like, well, what
- 7:10Speaker 1: are you doing? And he was learning how to potty
- 7:12Speaker 1: train and he's like, well, you're making a funny face,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and I said, well, everybody has a poopo face, no joke.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And uh So from that so that he was three
- 7:22Speaker 1: at the time, and he would go to everybody in
- 7:24Speaker 1: his life, whether it was his teacher, his mom, or
- 7:27Speaker 1: anybody and asked them what their poopo face was. Oh
- 7:30Speaker 1: my god, so fast forward. I wrote this book again.
- 7:34Speaker 1: It's twelve years ago and it just came to life,
- 7:37Speaker 1: like the books just came in. And it's called What's
- 7:39Speaker 1: your poopoo Face? And it's about a little boy that
- 7:41Speaker 1: goes around. So we went from him going to ask
- 7:45Speaker 1: his teacher and his mom and his dad to like
- 7:47Speaker 1: going around the world with his imagination asking dinosaurs and
- 7:50Speaker 1: unicorns and mermaids everybody what their poople faces. But the
- 7:58Speaker 1: thing you have to know is he at the end
- 8:00Speaker 1: of the story he doesn't even figure out what his
- 8:03Speaker 1: mom's poopo face is? Is it because moms don't everyone?
- 8:09Speaker 1: They never That's not a thing now, Jason. If you
- 8:13Speaker 1: if there's parents listening, why would they want to buy
- 8:16Speaker 1: this to read with and alongside of their children? Then
- 8:19Speaker 1: where could they find it? Oh it's so nice, man, Um,
- 8:23Speaker 1: it's really a potty training book. We targeted this. I
- 8:26Speaker 1: mean we wrote it when Ty was three years old,
- 8:29Speaker 1: even before the Bachelor stop, and about him learning how
- 8:33Speaker 1: to potty train, and that's what that's kind of the
- 8:36Speaker 1: heart of it. You can buy it anywhere. You can
- 8:38Speaker 1: buy it on Amazon, et Sea. We have a website
- 8:41Speaker 1: What's your poopoo Face. We haven't really done any real
- 8:43Speaker 1: marketing for it quite yet, so this is my first
- 8:46Speaker 1: like out there outside of the book signing the other day.
- 8:48Speaker 1: So thanks man. Yeah, look for What's your poopoo Face?
- 8:51Speaker 1: I can't imagine the people competing over that domain name.
- 8:55Speaker 1: That's going to be a very interesting group before guys,
- 8:59Speaker 1: by the way, I was listening to that story. I
- 9:01Speaker 1: just bought that to me and Bob, you are a
- 9:06Speaker 1: part of the almost Famous family right now here. It's
- 9:08Speaker 1: going great. It's been fun that you've talked about it.
- 9:11Speaker 1: But just in case people missed it, Uh, tell everybody
- 9:14Speaker 1: about your podcast you have with Almost Famous. Yeah, you
- 9:17Speaker 1: know when you first had I think you were one
- 9:19Speaker 1: of the first podcasts that I was on that actually
- 9:21Speaker 1: people listened to. Um and uh, I think I said
- 9:25Speaker 1: it then. I meant no disrespect, but I was like,
- 9:28Speaker 1: how do you even listen to a podcast? Because I
- 9:30Speaker 1: really didn't know. I'm like, you know, I've done this
- 9:31Speaker 1: podcast with you, and I actually a few times, and
- 9:34Speaker 1: I don't really know where to listen to it at
- 9:35Speaker 1: because I don't know how to find it. And um,
- 9:38Speaker 1: and that's only because I had come from the serious
- 9:41Speaker 1: you know, I was. I had a show on serious
- 9:43Speaker 1: sex then for a little while, and I knew how
- 9:45Speaker 1: to find that. I just I'm just clueless when it
- 9:47Speaker 1: comes to technology. And anyway, Um, we Trista Sutter and
- 9:52Speaker 1: I are doing the almost famous O G S, which
- 9:56Speaker 1: is a spinoff, of course, of the almost famous brand
- 9:58Speaker 1: that you and Ashley have done so amazingly well with.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And uh, when you guys went on a little hiatus,
- 10:03Speaker 1: you let us plug in there and have some fun
- 10:05Speaker 1: and tell some stories and the mass Jason Maznick, you
- 10:09Speaker 1: will be a guest soon, I'm sure, Mr Mesnick, sir. Um,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but we uh, we've been revisiting um with some people
- 10:16Speaker 1: from each of our seasons here and there, and um,
- 10:19Speaker 1: it's been a lot of fun. It's been a lot
- 10:21Speaker 1: of fun. I actually like it though when we get
- 10:23Speaker 1: into the uh I G versus O G. Like, you know,
- 10:26Speaker 1: how life has changed from now from what I was
- 10:28Speaker 1: on the show. I was on the show twenty years ago, right,
- 10:30Speaker 1: I was on the show in two thousand and three,
- 10:32Speaker 1: two thousand and four, So, um, you know, eighteen years ago. Yes,
- 10:35Speaker 1: so it's it's been, um, nineteen years ago. So it's
- 10:38Speaker 1: it's fun to kind of reflect on that and see
- 10:41Speaker 1: where we've gone. Like now I finally have a reason
- 10:44Speaker 1: to have someone, you know, watch Disney movies with me
- 10:47Speaker 1: because I have kids. Back then, it just seemed creepy.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I guess now you's true. We talked about it with
- 10:54Speaker 1: this last week we're in the Monterey Peninsula, just about
- 10:57Speaker 1: the evolution of the show, the differences in this show,
- 11:00Speaker 1: the things that have happened. Um, before we get into headlines,
- 11:04Speaker 1: there's been a lot of headlines recently of people speaking
- 11:08Speaker 1: out against the show past contestines, um, not as much leads. Ever,
- 11:13Speaker 1: once in a while you get a lead that gets
- 11:15Speaker 1: upset with something and they kind of come out against it.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Very few times are people speaking out and support of
- 11:19Speaker 1: the show. I think it's just kind of hard to
- 11:21Speaker 1: do and oftentimes you feel jaded somehow towards this thing
- 11:25Speaker 1: that that you went on when you all were on
- 11:28Speaker 1: the show. I guess we'll start here with Bob, because
- 11:30Speaker 1: it is, you know, twenty years ago compared to twelve
- 11:32Speaker 1: years ago, where people speaking out publicly against the show
- 11:36Speaker 1: back then, or did you feel like the show was
- 11:39Speaker 1: different where everybody was pretty happy coming off of it
- 11:41Speaker 1: and getting to do it. I mean, you know, everybody's
- 11:45Speaker 1: gonna be different, and I think you're always gonna have
- 11:48Speaker 1: you know, we were all we all three of us
- 11:50Speaker 1: actually were on The Bachelor at first, then the Bachelor,
- 11:54Speaker 1: And I feel like back then, the only people that
- 11:57Speaker 1: you really heard saying stuff where the guys who thought
- 12:00Speaker 1: they should have been chosen to be the Bachelor when
- 12:02Speaker 1: and they'd be like, oh, well they talked to me
- 12:04Speaker 1: and I turned it down. That's why they went to Bob,
- 12:05Speaker 1: you know or whatever. You know, you would hear stuff
- 12:07Speaker 1: like that, and you know, you take it with a
- 12:09Speaker 1: grain of salt at that time, and and um, but
- 12:11Speaker 1: I mean I heard it every year, you know, and
- 12:14Speaker 1: I'd go, I was kind of the guy that were like, oh,
- 12:16Speaker 1: they want to talk to me about the show, and yeah,
- 12:19Speaker 1: you know, well they asked me to do it. I
- 12:20Speaker 1: said no. And I'm like, really, that's interesting because you
- 12:23Speaker 1: sure seem to be, you know, enjoying your run from
- 12:25Speaker 1: it and talking about it more than the guy they
- 12:27Speaker 1: just asked to be the Bachelor's kind of way, so
- 12:29Speaker 1: you know, but it's it's with a grain of salt,
- 12:31Speaker 1: you know. And I will say, you know, um, I
- 12:33Speaker 1: probably had a little bit of a period there, um
- 12:36Speaker 1: because I had I had some legal issues with with
- 12:40Speaker 1: the Bachelor family at that time, and um, but you know,
- 12:43Speaker 1: I came out of at the other side. But I still,
- 12:46Speaker 1: even when I was going through that, I wasn't talking
- 12:48Speaker 1: ill about it because it gave me such an incredible
- 12:51Speaker 1: experience and the life that I had as a result
- 12:53Speaker 1: of going on that show, even though I didn't marry
- 12:56Speaker 1: someone from the show, was really really awesome. And so
- 13:00Speaker 1: I mean I always looked at it from the standpoint of,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you know, man, if would my life be like what
- 13:05Speaker 1: it is right now if I hadn't done that likelihood
- 13:07Speaker 1: as now, even though it wasn't maybe exactly what I
- 13:10Speaker 1: wanted from a romantic relationship or whatever, I was still
- 13:12Speaker 1: at this place as a result of doing it, and
- 13:14Speaker 1: so I was trying to always be the big picture guy.
- 13:16Speaker 1: So yeah, I I definitely didn't hear it as much
- 13:19Speaker 1: back then as I hear it now. And of course
- 13:22Speaker 1: that was a different time, you know. I mean I
- 13:25Speaker 1: you know, I can say honestly, I don't think we
- 13:27Speaker 1: were nearly socially as socially aware as people are today.
- 13:30Speaker 1: And for better or for worse, UM, and you know,
- 13:33Speaker 1: so I mean from that perspective, I would say it
- 13:35Speaker 1: was a little more of an innocent time of that show,
- 13:38Speaker 1: of the show and UM and everything else. I'd be
- 13:41Speaker 1: interested to see because Jason's right in the middle of us,
- 13:43Speaker 1: I'd be interested to see, you know, his experience from
- 13:45Speaker 1: that too. Uh. Yeah, you know, I was pretty negative,
- 13:50Speaker 1: Like I had a negative experience when it ended, UM,
- 13:53Speaker 1: and had some some harsh conversations with Like it wasn't
- 13:56Speaker 1: even about the public, it was like the behind the
- 13:58Speaker 1: I'm always speaking in Hi Molly, they all say, Hi. Um. Uh,
- 14:05Speaker 1: just some negative experience with all the production stuff. UM.
- 14:09Speaker 1: But I think I think I got past that. But
- 14:11Speaker 1: what what what occurs to me about this kind of
- 14:13Speaker 1: like being sold more socially aware. And I've told this
- 14:17Speaker 1: story a couple of times, is that when they were
- 14:20Speaker 1: asking me to be the Bachelor, and they said, you know,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and I would ask every week, I would say, have
- 14:24Speaker 1: have they made a decision yet? Because decisions made by
- 14:27Speaker 1: you know, ABC and I remember they came to me
- 14:30Speaker 1: and they said it was something really interesting. They said, well,
- 14:33Speaker 1: they really want you to be the Bachelor, but they're
- 14:35Speaker 1: not sure if America is ready for a Jewish guy
- 14:39Speaker 1: to be the Bachelor. And I was like, well, I mean,
- 14:42Speaker 1: and I know it's nothing against like the guy at ABC, Jeff,
- 14:46Speaker 1: who made a decision, he was a Jewish guy. Mike
- 14:49Speaker 1: Plice is a Jewish guy. So I had nothing to
- 14:51Speaker 1: do with like their thoughts about Jewish people, but it
- 14:54Speaker 1: really did at that point in time. And you know,
- 14:57Speaker 1: and I know it's all all about AD dollars, but
- 15:00Speaker 1: at that point in time, they were so afraid to
- 15:02Speaker 1: shake what was happening. Like there was conversations I remember
- 15:05Speaker 1: back then about you know, I don't They would say, well,
- 15:08Speaker 1: we don't think America is ready for a Jewish guy,
- 15:10Speaker 1: like maybe they're not ready for somebody of color, right,
- 15:14Speaker 1: So I think that was right in the middle ground
- 15:16Speaker 1: where like maybe they took somewhat of a risk on me.
- 15:20Speaker 1: But I think if you look at it, like I
- 15:22Speaker 1: think anytime Judaism came up, they would cut it out.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Ended up being like, hey, we're not We're not gonna
- 15:26Speaker 1: even go there. At this point, um, I was gonna say, I,
- 15:29Speaker 1: I didn't even know that you were Jewish. I mean
- 15:32Speaker 1: any time that that came up, whether it was like
- 15:35Speaker 1: with my family or like it was all cut out
- 15:37Speaker 1: of the show, like we weren't ignoring, but it was
- 15:39Speaker 1: just they didn't put it in the show. And I
- 15:40Speaker 1: don't think it's anything like when I go back to it,
- 15:42Speaker 1: like Jeff and Mike and me, like we're all, you know,
- 15:45Speaker 1: not practicing real Jewish guy heavily Jews, but like it
- 15:49Speaker 1: isn't our family. But I think from that point on,
- 15:52Speaker 1: like things have changed dramatically in a good way. You know.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I had a little bit of that. I remember too
- 15:57Speaker 1: because I was the first divorce Bachelor, and I remember,
- 16:01Speaker 1: you know, I don't know if America is ready for
- 16:04Speaker 1: but but I can be honest, I was. So I
- 16:05Speaker 1: was sort of like I was okay with not being
- 16:08Speaker 1: the Bachelor because I was. I thought I was like
- 16:10Speaker 1: the lovable loser from Tristas season. I'm like, man, I'm
- 16:13Speaker 1: having a lot of fun. I don't know if I
- 16:14Speaker 1: necessarily want to go on there, and you don't mess
- 16:16Speaker 1: this up, but but I remember them saying that, and
- 16:19Speaker 1: I was like well, if they're not, you know, I
- 16:21Speaker 1: understand that makes sense, you know, or whatever, and then
- 16:23Speaker 1: they you know, then they came back and like we
- 16:25Speaker 1: wanted to be that guy. So yeah, I mean, I
- 16:27Speaker 1: like I I think like Jason said, you know, I
- 16:29Speaker 1: think we all probably had moments where we were irritated
- 16:33Speaker 1: or whatever, but it was probably just a level of
- 16:36Speaker 1: volume that we gave to it, right. Yeah, And today
- 16:39Speaker 1: does it feels like the people speaking up to are
- 16:42Speaker 1: the ones that weren't chosen as leads or that um
- 16:46Speaker 1: A lot of times it's like the from the headlines
- 16:49Speaker 1: and we'll probably get into it today too when we
- 16:50Speaker 1: read them. Is the paradise is the spinoffs like the show?
- 16:53Speaker 1: They feel like the show give him a bad edit,
- 16:56Speaker 1: misedited them, and you know that's uh, it's fair. It's
- 17:01Speaker 1: hard to know if you're not there. Yeah, you don't
- 17:03Speaker 1: really know. But it does seem just to to drive
- 17:07Speaker 1: the point forward, is that people are speaking up more
- 17:09Speaker 1: and more, and I wonder if that will continue, and
- 17:11Speaker 1: I wonder what that does to the show. Hey, I
- 17:13Speaker 1: have a funny story before we take a break here,
- 17:15Speaker 1: and we start with the headlines. Uh, this last week,
- 17:18Speaker 1: gentleman going back to if you get recognized or not.
- 17:21Speaker 1: I Uh, I was in Nashville, Tennessee with my with
- 17:26Speaker 1: my in laws and my uh brother in law, my wife,
- 17:31Speaker 1: my sister in law. We had a wonderful dinner. We
- 17:35Speaker 1: had like a dinner at three different spots, appetizers, dinner,
- 17:39Speaker 1: dessert kind of thing. We're at one place called the
- 17:41Speaker 1: Urban Cowboy in Nashville, Tennessee, and I'm saying, if your
- 17:44Speaker 1: egos ever get kind of like hurt, just go back
- 17:47Speaker 1: to Nashville and sit in a spot for a bit.
- 17:49Speaker 1: It's like the target demo for this show. It feels
- 17:52Speaker 1: like for the last twenty five years. But we're at
- 17:55Speaker 1: this place called the Urban Cowboy. It's awesome, incredible pizza,
- 17:58Speaker 1: incredible drinks. Were standing in line and UM with my
- 18:02Speaker 1: father in law. My wife is to my left, uh
- 18:06Speaker 1: and my brother in law and this group of girls
- 18:08Speaker 1: come up and they go, can we get a picture? Said,
- 18:09Speaker 1: of course, take a picture. Uh. They're very sweet, very nice,
- 18:13Speaker 1: asking me very easy questions. And then all of a sudden,
- 18:16Speaker 1: I'm standing there and I'm texting on my phone and
- 18:19Speaker 1: I have an arm come and smack my arm down,
- 18:22Speaker 1: like smack it down. I look over to my right
- 18:24Speaker 1: on my right shoulder, and this girl goes, you're a liar.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I'm like what, And she goes, you're a liar? And
- 18:31Speaker 1: I was like and I in my head, I was
- 18:34Speaker 1: thinking this is either about to get really awkward for
- 18:36Speaker 1: me or really weird because everybody, like my wife is here,
- 18:41Speaker 1: my father in law is here. She goes, you're a liar,
- 18:44Speaker 1: And I said, I don't know how to answer that question,
- 18:46Speaker 1: but like, can I get some context because and if
- 18:49Speaker 1: if it's if it's context, that is, my father in
- 18:52Speaker 1: law shouldn't here, can be can we step aside um?
- 18:58Speaker 1: And she goes, you're not Ben Higgins. And at that
- 19:01Speaker 1: point I realized that she was probably a couple of
- 19:04Speaker 1: drinks too deep. I don't know how to answer that,
- 19:07Speaker 1: and so I said, here's my I D and she goes,
- 19:10Speaker 1: I don't even care, you're not him, You're a liar
- 19:13Speaker 1: and walks away. And in that moment, I realized that
- 19:17Speaker 1: it's been a couple of years since I've really been
- 19:20Speaker 1: out in public, like in a big group setting. It
- 19:23Speaker 1: just hasn't happened. It's not like a part of my
- 19:24Speaker 1: life as much anymore. Because of COVID and because I'm
- 19:28Speaker 1: married and I like to stay inside. At that moment,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I realized, I don't miss it, guys, don't miss it
- 19:32Speaker 1: at all. You know, it's funny you say that. As
- 19:36Speaker 1: Molly walked by and I was telling her, I was
- 19:38Speaker 1: doing this because like, I am all done. I don't
- 19:41Speaker 1: even want to talk about the Baston anymore. She is
- 19:43Speaker 1: so anti even like I think it's just she's had
- 19:47Speaker 1: the conversation so many times that she's just like, I'm done. Yeah,
- 19:51Speaker 1: she says to you, guys, Hey, I get it. I
- 19:55Speaker 1: get it. I met my wife and I've talked about
- 19:57Speaker 1: the show five times in our marriage or our time
- 19:59Speaker 1: to gether in relationship. It just doesn't come up. And
- 20:02Speaker 1: I get to still talk about it on here, so
- 20:04Speaker 1: I get my well, you know, everything I need out
- 20:06Speaker 1: of it. Hey, we're gonna take a break, gentlemen when
- 20:08Speaker 1: we come back. We do have some Bachelor headlines. Usually
- 20:11Speaker 1: Ashley walks me through these. I'm not good at them
- 20:14Speaker 1: because I don't typically know what's going on in pop
- 20:16Speaker 1: culture and around the Bachelor world. She likes to and
- 20:19Speaker 1: she does know, and she's really good at So we're
- 20:21Speaker 1: gonna try to get through this together. When we come
- 20:23Speaker 1: back on this week's Monday Man panel of the Almost
- 20:28Speaker 1: same As podcast. All Right, everybody, it's time for this
- 20:41Speaker 1: week's bachelor headlines. We have a lot of them. Uh.
- 20:44Speaker 1: They're good and juicy, and we have two gentlemen here
- 20:48Speaker 1: who are gonna help us break them down. Are you
- 20:49Speaker 1: guys are ready? Do you feel like you're like suited
- 20:52Speaker 1: for this rule? Do you feel like you're ready suited
- 20:54Speaker 1: and booted? Buddy, I'm ready. I don't even know what
- 20:57Speaker 1: the heck we're talking about. This is to be a blast.
- 21:00Speaker 1: This is gonna be so good. Okay, first headline is
- 21:04Speaker 1: this Katie Morton teases moving in with her boyfriend James
- 21:08Speaker 1: Rowe as soon as they can. Gentlemen, my question for
- 21:13Speaker 1: you is do you know Katie Morton? And do you
- 21:16Speaker 1: recommend moving in with your boyfriend or girlfriend? Is there
- 21:19Speaker 1: a certain time period that you think it works best.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I'll let Jason go first. I think Katie Morton her
- 21:28Speaker 1: family invented the seasoning sault. I was gonna say the
- 21:33Speaker 1: same thing, were you really? No? I don't, but if
- 21:36Speaker 1: funny you say this, because I remember I took a
- 21:39Speaker 1: like a speech class in college and my whole debate
- 21:42Speaker 1: actually a bait class was on cohabitation um, and I,
- 21:47Speaker 1: being the liberal you know, northwesterner, took the side of absolutely,
- 21:52Speaker 1: how are you going to know what it's like, how
- 21:54Speaker 1: you're gonna fit together? Um, and debated against somebody who
- 21:57Speaker 1: was against it. So I am absolutely for it. I
- 22:00Speaker 1: think it's a great idea. But and I've done it before,
- 22:03Speaker 1: but it only works out some of the time. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 22:07Speaker 1: i'd say fifty percent of the time. It works out
- 22:09Speaker 1: thirty percent of the time. Um. But I do think
- 22:13Speaker 1: that's interesting because Jason, you're now the father of a daughter,
- 22:16Speaker 1: so the fact that you still have that feeling I
- 22:18Speaker 1: think is pretty cool. Yeah. I mean I probably feel
- 22:22Speaker 1: better about my seventeen year old son doing it than
- 22:24Speaker 1: my daughter doing it, for sure. Yeah. Oh yeah, I
- 22:28Speaker 1: too do not know Katie Morton, but I do love
- 22:30Speaker 1: their salts and there's there's spices. But I would say, yeah,
- 22:36Speaker 1: you know, I think I think you almost in this
- 22:38Speaker 1: day and age, I mean, I think there are some
- 22:42Speaker 1: exceptions to that rule that really make it work. I
- 22:45Speaker 1: think Ben you were an exception to that rule, if
- 22:47Speaker 1: I'm not mistaken, where you guys didn't live together and
- 22:50Speaker 1: we didn't we kind of. I mean, you know, we
- 22:52Speaker 1: always said like we would spend like time together. She
- 22:55Speaker 1: didn't even live out here, though, so it wasn't like
- 22:57Speaker 1: we had like long distance up until the last couple
- 23:01Speaker 1: of months before we got married, right, yeah, which is
- 23:04Speaker 1: when she moved here. You still live separately for a
- 23:07Speaker 1: couple of months. Yeah, we had Uh. Yeah, we got
- 23:09Speaker 1: a house that she started to redo. I was up
- 23:12Speaker 1: I mean we live in it now. I was up
- 23:13Speaker 1: here a lot. I think we got a good taste
- 23:17Speaker 1: of each other's like lifestyles and habits. I do, though,
- 23:21Speaker 1: feel like we've learned a ton in the last six
- 23:24Speaker 1: months on how each other function. Like we're learning a lot,
- 23:27Speaker 1: which I I don't know. Maybe when you live with
- 23:29Speaker 1: somebody before you get married, you kind of no. Uh,
- 23:33Speaker 1: there's been a lot of surprises. Nothing luckily for us.
- 23:36Speaker 1: It's like bad. It's just like there's just different surprises
- 23:39Speaker 1: that we have had to work through, including like who
- 23:42Speaker 1: how do you pack the dishwasher and why do you
- 23:45Speaker 1: put bulls in the plate section when there's not enough
- 23:48Speaker 1: room in the plate section for this? Like those are
- 23:49Speaker 1: conversations we have. That's a valid argument. By the way,
- 23:52Speaker 1: I'd take anybody on that one. I'm a big dishwasher guy. Yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 1: I agree. I lived so Kenyon and I didn't live
- 23:58Speaker 1: together before we got well for the majority of our relationship,
- 24:03Speaker 1: and then when I moved to Seattle, UM and moved
- 24:07Speaker 1: in next to Jason and Molly, that's when we moved
- 24:10Speaker 1: in together. So we we had been dating long distance
- 24:14Speaker 1: up until that point, and then we moved in together
- 24:16Speaker 1: in Seattle and UM, so I agree with you. You You
- 24:18Speaker 1: learn a lot. You learned a lot about somebody the
- 24:20Speaker 1: second you start living with him, and some of it's good,
- 24:22Speaker 1: some of us not so good, so as well get
- 24:24Speaker 1: it out of the way early, figure it out. Katie
- 24:27Speaker 1: Morton is saying that they're going to move in as
- 24:29Speaker 1: soon as you can, so they're going that route. She's
- 24:31Speaker 1: dating James Rowe, who is a professional soccer player. Katie
- 24:36Speaker 1: has been talking about this relationship now for a bit.
- 24:40Speaker 1: She's really happy. In fact, I remember her coming on
- 24:42Speaker 1: the Almost Famous podcast and kind of hinting that she
- 24:45Speaker 1: was dating somebody, but she hadn't announced it publicly yet.
- 24:48Speaker 1: But that is a big deal. Um. Either way, no
- 24:51Speaker 1: matter what your I guess, believe or what you think
- 24:54Speaker 1: is right for your relationship. It sounds like Katie is
- 24:56Speaker 1: in a good place with her new boyfriend, and so
- 24:58Speaker 1: we celebrate that. Well, speaking of boyfriends, everything we need
- 25:03Speaker 1: to know about Madison pruittt Pruett's new BF. All. Do
- 25:08Speaker 1: you know who Madison Pruitt is. I'm googling her. I
- 25:13Speaker 1: know that name. Yes, she was runner up. Was she
- 25:17Speaker 1: an American idol? No? She was, I do know her.
- 25:20Speaker 1: She was the girl that was the pilot guys, Peter
- 25:25Speaker 1: Mom's choice, like mom loved that one or something, and
- 25:29Speaker 1: then they ended up fighting. Sweet girl. They had a
- 25:32Speaker 1: big falling out on after the final rows. Well, Madison
- 25:36Speaker 1: has been pretty close to her chest about any of
- 25:39Speaker 1: her dates since the time on the show, but recently,
- 25:44Speaker 1: because I think of the series of the relationship, she
- 25:48Speaker 1: has came out publicly that she is dating Grant Trout.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Now you might recognize the Trout name, Kenny Trout. Grant's
- 25:55Speaker 1: dad is the billionaire founder of Excel Communication and owner
- 25:59Speaker 1: of Windstar Farms there out of Texas. So she is
- 26:04Speaker 1: dating into a billionaires family. Uh here, I say, well done.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I said they should get married immediately, but yeah, wait,
- 26:13Speaker 1: a whole lot of second how come. Okay, prehistoric times
- 26:16Speaker 1: with Bob and I, when there wasn't social media, you'd
- 26:19Speaker 1: fall off the show and you had to go to
- 26:21Speaker 1: the bar wherever else like a normal person. Now the
- 26:23Speaker 1: people are fall off the show they're dating. Is anybody
- 26:26Speaker 1: dating Brad Pitt? Yet, like, like you fall off the
- 26:29Speaker 1: show and all of a sudden you're dating celebrities or billionaires? Yeah,
- 26:33Speaker 1: or like we have a headline here where somebody want
- 26:35Speaker 1: on a date with Harry Styles. So yeah, I mean,
- 26:38Speaker 1: I think nowadays, if you're like known from the show,
- 26:42Speaker 1: I think you've got a shot at really getting in
- 26:45Speaker 1: that Hollywood dating scene. Now, this isn't a Hollywood dating story, though,
- 26:48Speaker 1: This is um a story that I think they've probably
- 26:52Speaker 1: met at a conference. I believe from my understanding that
- 26:55Speaker 1: Grant uh is uh speaks a lot at churches. I
- 26:59Speaker 1: don't know if we he is a pastor by profession,
- 27:02Speaker 1: but Madison also speaks at churches a lot, kind of
- 27:05Speaker 1: does the traveling circuit, and so I'm sure they kind
- 27:08Speaker 1: of met through that. Also, one of Madison's big storylines
- 27:12Speaker 1: during her time on the show was that she loved
- 27:13Speaker 1: basketball and Grant was a point guard. For you see
- 27:16Speaker 1: Santa Barbara, but he had a hip injury, so I
- 27:19Speaker 1: didn't play a lot. But yeah, the Trout family. In fact, guys,
- 27:23Speaker 1: I was justic and I really have done a few
- 27:27Speaker 1: things with Madison. We really like Madison and so when
- 27:29Speaker 1: they announced their relationship, we kind of sat down and
- 27:32Speaker 1: did a little research and we we saw it there
- 27:34Speaker 1: at the Kentucky Derby, like that seems really interesting that
- 27:38Speaker 1: they would go to the Kentucky Derby together. Well, I
- 27:41Speaker 1: believe that Grant's father owns a few horses that probably
- 27:44Speaker 1: was racing in the Kentucky Derby. So that's a good time.
- 27:48Speaker 1: But the Owens rich Strike, who was horse number twenty one,
- 27:51Speaker 1: Thank you sir, because that was a nice day for
- 27:53Speaker 1: me too. Did you did you take rich Strike? I did? Did?
- 27:58Speaker 1: How did you? Why would you even do that? So
- 28:01Speaker 1: this was my s in a row and I yeah,
- 28:06Speaker 1: and I love it and I and this year, you know,
- 28:08Speaker 1: we always do this big bet where we all put
- 28:11Speaker 1: together some money, all all of us buddies and we
- 28:14Speaker 1: do a SuperFect a lottery bet. Right, So a few
- 28:18Speaker 1: years back we actually won on it, which was great,
- 28:20Speaker 1: but you're dividing it by twenties, so it's not that substantial.
- 28:23Speaker 1: And then this year we did it again, and I
- 28:26Speaker 1: was just a little bored with with the fact that
- 28:28Speaker 1: I had to wait till after the race that count
- 28:30Speaker 1: out the tickets and look to see who won. So
- 28:32Speaker 1: I went up to the window with a little winnings
- 28:34Speaker 1: that I had from the race previous and just put
- 28:36Speaker 1: a hundred bucks on all the long shots. And so
- 28:40Speaker 1: I just went through the book and every long shot,
- 28:42Speaker 1: I'm like, give me a hundred bucks to win on
- 28:44Speaker 1: this guy, hunter bucks to win on that guy type
- 28:45Speaker 1: of thing. And as I was walking away from the window,
- 28:48Speaker 1: one of my buddies was walking up and they ran
- 28:51Speaker 1: out of time to make their bets, so he split
- 28:53Speaker 1: it with me. So he basically gave me half and
- 28:56Speaker 1: we were like, okay, well whatever happens happens, And sure
- 28:59Speaker 1: enough we had that horse, though in the book it
- 29:02Speaker 1: was horse number twenty that was listed at fifty one,
- 29:05Speaker 1: and he went off at one, which is pretty awesome.
- 29:11Speaker 1: You're one of the success stories. That's a good story.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I was at a horse race this weekend and Nashville,
- 29:17Speaker 1: Tennessee called steeple Chase, and everybody was talking about what
- 29:19Speaker 1: if you would have put a hundred bucks on rich strike.
- 29:22Speaker 1: What if you would have put a thousand bucks on
- 29:23Speaker 1: rich strike. There's got to be these people out there.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Well I know one of them. I can say I
- 29:28Speaker 1: have this guy that I know. Thanks, guys, thanks, Well,
- 29:34Speaker 1: we're just kind of mentioning this headline a second ago,
- 29:38Speaker 1: but let's get into it now. Kate Gallavan, Uh, you
- 29:41Speaker 1: might remember her from her time on the Bachelor. It
- 29:45Speaker 1: was a big storyline when she was on the Bachelor,
- 29:47Speaker 1: at least on the first couple of nights, that she
- 29:49Speaker 1: had gone on a date with Harry Styles. Well, here's
- 29:54Speaker 1: the headline. Kate Golvin shares the story of her date
- 29:56Speaker 1: with Harry Styles. Now, gentlemen, it wasn't received well by
- 30:02Speaker 1: the Bachelor public. I guess um because people are saying
- 30:06Speaker 1: that's not true. Prove it. How you can't, you know,
- 30:09Speaker 1: prove that it happened. And people are also saying, well,
- 30:12Speaker 1: how does Harry Styles feel that you're using his name?
- 30:16Speaker 1: Uh for credibility. So recently Kate Gllavin went on Clickbait
- 30:22Speaker 1: with Joe, Natasha and Tia and shared her her story.
- 30:27Speaker 1: She's confirmed I did go on a date with Harry
- 30:29Speaker 1: Styles in two thousand and fourteen. It was right when
- 30:32Speaker 1: I moved to l A, which was such a mind
- 30:35Speaker 1: f because I was like, is this just what happens
- 30:39Speaker 1: when people lived here? It was so insane. He was
- 30:42Speaker 1: still in one direction at the time. He was twenty
- 30:44Speaker 1: in two thousand fourteen and I was twenty four. She
- 30:46Speaker 1: went on to explain how she and Harry connected, sharing
- 30:51Speaker 1: I was an assistant at c A A. That was
- 30:53Speaker 1: my first job in l A. It was so crazy
- 30:55Speaker 1: to me to be in such a nice building with
- 30:57Speaker 1: all these famous people here. Is agent ended up setting
- 31:00Speaker 1: it up and we texted for a little bit. Went
- 31:03Speaker 1: to petite hermatage. You know that restaurant. Yeah, that's a
- 31:06Speaker 1: great idea. I love that restaurant. Oh, I actually have
- 31:08Speaker 1: been there. Never even heard of it. I guess it's
- 31:12Speaker 1: in West Hollywood. Um, and there was no paparazzi. Uh.
- 31:16Speaker 1: They had a sweet interaction. He was very engaging and
- 31:20Speaker 1: curious about her life, and I thought it was so
- 31:23Speaker 1: cool and a change of pace. Um that was where
- 31:26Speaker 1: it played out. So hey, she's confirming it, she's given
- 31:30Speaker 1: details around it. Harry's never spoke out against it. So
- 31:35Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation, it's time to accept it Kate Galvin went
- 31:38Speaker 1: on a date with Harry Styles. I think everybody's jealous.
- 31:42Speaker 1: It's funny because even Molly and my nine year old
- 31:45Speaker 1: talk about Harry Styles. Yeah, he's a good looking guy.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Come on, all right, two more headlines here for you
- 32:06Speaker 1: all before we close out. Uh big one here. We
- 32:09Speaker 1: kind of mentioned it a little bit ago. Blake Hurtzman
- 32:12Speaker 1: and Natasha Parker ignite feud over fairness of Bachelor in Paradise.
- 32:18Speaker 1: This according to US Weekly. Now Blake Hurtsman who's a
- 32:22Speaker 1: friend of mine. Natasha is a friend of mine as well.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I like them both. But this was interesting to watch.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys saw this, but Blake
- 32:29Speaker 1: uh in summary came on his Instagram. People were asking
- 32:33Speaker 1: him questions. They're talking about the editing of Bachelor in Paradise,
- 32:37Speaker 1: and he said, hey, just be careful and stay away
- 32:40Speaker 1: from any company people, meaning anybody has a podcast with
- 32:43Speaker 1: Warner Brothers. If they go onto the beach, they're gonna
- 32:45Speaker 1: get a good edit because Warner Brothers wants them to
- 32:48Speaker 1: look good. It's good for their podcast, it's good for
- 32:50Speaker 1: their brand, etcetera, etcetera. He said, don't get on their
- 32:53Speaker 1: bad side. Well, Natasha comes out, who has a podcast
- 32:56Speaker 1: with Warner Brothers Clickbait, and says, that's not fair, that's
- 33:00Speaker 1: not true. Um. She feels like Blake was diminishing her
- 33:05Speaker 1: personal experience on Bachelor in Paradise by saying that she
- 33:09Speaker 1: just got a good at it. She says, pretty much, Um,
- 33:12Speaker 1: if you're like toxic, uh then or I guess what
- 33:17Speaker 1: she's really saying here, I'll just quote her because it's
- 33:19Speaker 1: it's going to be more fair to her. Um. She
- 33:22Speaker 1: said this via her Instagram story on May twelve. Um,
- 33:25Speaker 1: she says, I have a problem. If you're taking what
- 33:29Speaker 1: Blake is saying and you're rallying behind it, you're basically
- 33:32Speaker 1: excusing toxic behavior, which means she's saying, Hey, you're not
- 33:36Speaker 1: doing well on the beach, you're not gonna look good
- 33:38Speaker 1: in the public eye. And if we just start saying
- 33:41Speaker 1: everybody that goes on the show because they work for
- 33:43Speaker 1: the company looks good, well, we're excusing toxic behavior. Gen
- 33:47Speaker 1: what do you think, man, I'll tell you what. That
- 33:53Speaker 1: beach show scares me. I don't know how else to
- 33:56Speaker 1: say it. That you go on that show, it's basically
- 33:59Speaker 1: like you're going onto Survivor Real World. You're going on
- 34:03Speaker 1: You're building alliances. It's terrifying. I I gotta be honest,
- 34:07Speaker 1: So I think, you know, you go on those shows,
- 34:09Speaker 1: you're definitely gonna have some people coming with some angles.
- 34:13Speaker 1: They're smart, they've been in the series, they know how
- 34:15Speaker 1: it plays, So you know, I'm sure there's I'm sure
- 34:19Speaker 1: there's merit to both sides of what each of them
- 34:23Speaker 1: are saying. But my guests would be at the end
- 34:25Speaker 1: of the day, you know, the the edit is is
- 34:27Speaker 1: really up to what you give them in content. You know,
- 34:30Speaker 1: if you don't say it, they can't use it. Right,
- 34:33Speaker 1: you guys might be gonna help me out. I actually
- 34:35Speaker 1: wanted the Sea. I can't even tell you what season was.
- 34:37Speaker 1: They had Molly and I go down there to like
- 34:39Speaker 1: talk to some of the couples and we're this is
- 34:42Speaker 1: not on camera by any means, but somebody, Ben, you
- 34:45Speaker 1: might remember this. Somebody jumped out of their hotel room
- 34:49Speaker 1: and broke their ankle. Yeah, because I thought it was
- 34:53Speaker 1: because they were messing around with the producer. Somebody was
- 34:56Speaker 1: messing around with the producer, and somebody jumped out to
- 35:00Speaker 1: their hotel room on to like Kyle Kyle ground in Mexico. Yeah,
- 35:05Speaker 1: I think they gotta find edit though. Yeah, I think
- 35:08Speaker 1: they were fine. I mean, you know, it's uh, it's
- 35:11Speaker 1: hard to say again, you can't say it without being there. Um,
- 35:15Speaker 1: it's just interesting to see two you know, cast members
- 35:20Speaker 1: arguing about this. I've always said, I've never been from
- 35:22Speaker 1: my own personal experience, I've never been on a show
- 35:25Speaker 1: inside this franchise where somebody looked worse than what they
- 35:29Speaker 1: behaved like on the show, other than Olivia Uh Creedy,
- 35:33Speaker 1: who I do think was unfairly criticized. I don't even
- 35:36Speaker 1: know if she looked that bad on television. I think
- 35:38Speaker 1: she was just like the only villain on the season,
- 35:40Speaker 1: so people just chose to go after her. Um So,
- 35:44Speaker 1: I I don't know. I haven't been around I guess
- 35:46Speaker 1: enough of these shows to know if there's like always
- 35:49Speaker 1: a villain or if they can edit it in. But yeah,
- 35:51Speaker 1: they've got to be able to. I remember, and this
- 35:53Speaker 1: is granted, it's you know, a lifetime ago, when I
- 35:56Speaker 1: was on the Bachelorette, but I remember something was going
- 35:59Speaker 1: on between a couple of guys that were drinking, and
- 36:02Speaker 1: I wanted to go up and kind of break up disagreement,
- 36:05Speaker 1: and I was walking up there, remember a producer pulling
- 36:08Speaker 1: me aside and saying, no, no, no, we don't want
- 36:11Speaker 1: you to get involved. You gotta stay. So they already had,
- 36:14Speaker 1: you know, because they had their eye on me as
- 36:16Speaker 1: a clean participated on the Bachelorette that you know, they
- 36:21Speaker 1: have to have something up their sleeves some way. Yeah.
- 36:25Speaker 1: So granted that could be remembering something foggy since it
- 36:28Speaker 1: was in black and white. Well yeah, I mean, I'm
- 36:33Speaker 1: sure it happens. But it's just interesting to see those
- 36:35Speaker 1: two arguing about it because they have two different experiences
- 36:39Speaker 1: on the show. Um both, well, then you know them both.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I mean, you know from what they're saying, it's got
- 36:44Speaker 1: to be. I mean, do you have a specific feeling
- 36:47Speaker 1: on it or are you sort of just I mean,
- 36:49Speaker 1: I think you know it's funny. Blake is a buddy
- 36:52Speaker 1: of mine. Um, Blake made some bad decisions before we
- 36:54Speaker 1: went on Paradise. I don't know, I bet because of
- 36:59Speaker 1: those decisions, I don't don't know if you can call
- 37:00Speaker 1: him even bad. He made some decisions right. He had
- 37:03Speaker 1: dated or hooked up with multiple people going into that season,
- 37:06Speaker 1: and I'm sure when the show found out about it.
- 37:09Speaker 1: They put him in some really uncomfortable where there was
- 37:12Speaker 1: no right way around it, right you know, situations when
- 37:16Speaker 1: he was on the beach, which probably made him feel
- 37:19Speaker 1: like you've cornered me, You've made me look bad before
- 37:22Speaker 1: I can even explain myself. Natasha, um, you know, she
- 37:26Speaker 1: got a lot of love this year because she couldn't
- 37:28Speaker 1: find love on the beach and everybody kind of like
- 37:31Speaker 1: pushed her side or or didn't like really engage in
- 37:34Speaker 1: her or share the similar feelings that she did, and
- 37:37Speaker 1: so um, you know, I think for her that was
- 37:41Speaker 1: her experience. I don't know if there was a bad way.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Maybe there was that we weren't seeing, But I just
- 37:46Speaker 1: think there's two people having very different experiences from the show,
- 37:49Speaker 1: and also two people benefiting very differently from the show.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Blake is a DJ, he's very busy doing that. Natasha
- 37:56Speaker 1: works for Wonder Brothers, UM, and she's probably very thankful
- 37:59Speaker 1: for that. So two totally different experiences too, totally different
- 38:03Speaker 1: pass and we and we get to see kind of
- 38:05Speaker 1: their feelings towards the show play out right in front
- 38:08Speaker 1: of us on social media. It's always so much, so
- 38:11Speaker 1: much fun, so much fun, hashtag like how hashtag like
- 38:15Speaker 1: them both? Yeah, we got to They're good people. That's
- 38:17Speaker 1: my savvy, that's my savvy social media approach. It was
- 38:20Speaker 1: a couple of years ago, but um, all right, uh,
- 38:25Speaker 1: Bachelor in Paradise. Speaking of Bachelor in Paradise, Demi Burnett,
- 38:28Speaker 1: who has been on Bachelor in Paradise a couple of times,
- 38:31Speaker 1: fan favorite. Everybody loves her. She was kind of a
- 38:34Speaker 1: villain or kind of like somebody that people talked a
- 38:37Speaker 1: lot about, went on Paradise. Um, people fell in love
- 38:40Speaker 1: with her even more than it did before. She went
- 38:42Speaker 1: on Paradise again. This last season didn't work out for um. Well,
- 38:46Speaker 1: she is quoted here and this is where as much
- 38:49Speaker 1: as we can really say about it. She's quoted saying
- 38:52Speaker 1: she will never go on Paradise again. I'm way out
- 38:56Speaker 1: of their league. That's twenty seven year old reality star
- 38:59Speaker 1: exclusively told US Weekly on Thursday May twelfth while attending
- 39:02Speaker 1: the Rolling Stones Time Meta Creators issue event at the
- 39:07Speaker 1: Hurst Estate in Beverly Hills. So I think we can
- 39:10Speaker 1: count on Demi Burnett never attending Bachelor and Paradise again
- 39:14Speaker 1: because hey, she's out of their league now. Um, it
- 39:18Speaker 1: makes us one or even more. Yeah, I know, gosh,
- 39:20Speaker 1: you're good. Bring her on good, I think yeah, I mean, hey,
- 39:26Speaker 1: she's confident. Also, last week we talked about Scott Disick
- 39:30Speaker 1: and Bachelor's current Olympios uh being seen together in Miami.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Uh Scott Dissick uh from I guess what Ashley was
- 39:39Speaker 1: telling me, and I think I do know this. He's
- 39:41Speaker 1: been on the Credit Kardashians. I believe he dated one
- 39:44Speaker 1: of the the girls he has he has a kid.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I know the Courtney. He's got children with one of them.
- 39:50Speaker 1: I think it's court Courtney. Yea, I know this, I
- 39:53Speaker 1: know this story. Yes, Okay, well they were seen together
- 39:56Speaker 1: out and about in Miami. They're not dating. Nothing serious
- 39:59Speaker 1: is going on. Uh. That was shut down. So I
- 40:01Speaker 1: just want to fill that gap in because there's a
- 40:04Speaker 1: lot of people wondering what's gonna be going on there.
- 40:07Speaker 1: They're just hanging out, I don't know, going out to
- 40:08Speaker 1: a nice dinner as friends. That's always good. She she's
- 40:11Speaker 1: she's cute. She was the one that was was. I
- 40:14Speaker 1: believe she referred to herself as platinum. Yeah, yeah, she's platinum,
- 40:21Speaker 1: platinum Virgin. I believe it was. Yes, I know she
- 40:25Speaker 1: she was good TV man, so Scott dissac So I
- 40:28Speaker 1: could imagine the two of them be entertaining together. I
- 40:30Speaker 1: would love to sit down to dinner with the both
- 40:32Speaker 1: of them, especially if they're trying to figure out love connection.
- 40:34Speaker 1: That would be fantastic to see how they are describing
- 40:38Speaker 1: themselves to each other. Um. Yeah, if Lord Dissack is
- 40:42Speaker 1: in uh in Platinum had a chance to split an appetizer,
- 40:46Speaker 1: I'm there for it. In uh two last headlines, Um,
- 40:51Speaker 1: I'm going to actually save what I believe the biggest
- 40:53Speaker 1: for last. So here's one headline. The Bachelor is renewed
- 40:57Speaker 1: for season twenty seven by ABC. That's a big d
- 41:00Speaker 1: I don't know, um if anybody was questioning if it
- 41:04Speaker 1: would be renewed or not, but it is getting renewed.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Even though the ratings have been down over the last
- 41:11Speaker 1: couple years. Here, ABC is going to continue to air
- 41:15Speaker 1: The Bachelor, So hey, we still have a show to
- 41:17Speaker 1: talk about. That's big for us. Gives me another year,
- 41:20Speaker 1: I bet a couple of years of employment. Hey, biggest
- 41:24Speaker 1: headline of the week. Congratulations um to somebody uh that
- 41:30Speaker 1: I respect admire? Really two people that I respect admire? Um,
- 41:35Speaker 1: really Uh. I wanted to see, especially Jojoe Fletcher, shine
- 41:41Speaker 1: bright and find somebody perfect for her, and she did
- 41:45Speaker 1: because her and Jordan Rodgers are married after six years
- 41:49Speaker 1: of dating. That happened this last weekend. They are happy.
- 41:52Speaker 1: They're off now it looks like to their honeymoon. Um,
- 41:56Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation pals Raven Gates and Adam Uh as well
- 42:00Speaker 1: as Becka Tilly. Uh, we're among the attendees. So from
- 42:04Speaker 1: everybody here at the Almost Famous podcast, especially me, Um,
- 42:08Speaker 1: congratulations to the two of them. Uh, they seem great together.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Where don't you going on their honeymoon today? Right now?
- 42:13Speaker 1: I don't know yet. We're gonna find out. We'll break
- 42:15Speaker 1: that down next week. UM. I love I loved Joe Joe.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I thought she was a great season to watch. And
- 42:22Speaker 1: Um and Jordan's I mean, you know, I'm sure that
- 42:24Speaker 1: dude has been you know, he's he's heard of enough
- 42:27Speaker 1: about his brother to the last on my lifetime at
- 42:28Speaker 1: this point. So, but I always thought I always thought
- 42:31Speaker 1: they seemed like they had a really great relationship, you know,
- 42:33Speaker 1: from what I've seen and who I know that know them.
- 42:36Speaker 1: So I think that's pretty awesome. Good for them. Good. Yeah, yea,
- 42:40Speaker 1: but I need to find out where they want on
- 42:42Speaker 1: the honeymoon. I'm sure at some place, so I don't
- 42:43Speaker 1: even know if they're sharing it yet. You don't really
- 42:45Speaker 1: want to share that, right if you're on your way there,
- 42:48Speaker 1: because I'm sure the two of them where they live,
- 42:50Speaker 1: you know, all over the place. They've been seen in Nashville,
- 42:54Speaker 1: they've been seeing for the most part in Puerto Rico. UM.
- 42:58Speaker 1: I also know that Joejoe was living in Dallas as
- 43:01Speaker 1: of a few years ago, so I think they kind
- 43:02Speaker 1: of bounce around now. I do believe their main hub
- 43:07Speaker 1: is Puerto Rico though at this point. Wow, that's pretty
- 43:11Speaker 1: cool going down with all the crypto kings. Yeah. I
- 43:14Speaker 1: love it done there, It's beautiful. So hey, guys, follow
- 43:18Speaker 1: my lead here. Uh in a second, as we close,
- 43:20Speaker 1: you just got to kind of copy what I say,
- 43:22Speaker 1: but use your name to fill the blank. We'll see
- 43:24Speaker 1: how you do. Uh. It was awesome hanging out with
