- 0:38Speaker 2: I will say I'm a little intimidated. I've only been
- 0:40Speaker 2: intimidated by one other guest that we've had, and it
- 0:42Speaker 2: was Catherine Power. But I'm like equally as intimidated right now.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Why because you're just like you guys are like the
- 0:48Speaker 2: king and Queen of like podcast ship.
- 0:50Speaker 1: You know.

- 0:59Speaker 3: don't but you know, we have our moments, just not
- 1:01Speaker 3: always a home run.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Well, by the way, I love having you on Michael,
- 1:04Speaker 2: because it's always great. Like Randall always says like he
- 1:07Speaker 2: has like three fans, But I don't think that's true.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I think I think it's the same for you.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm a huge people.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I think people are fans of yours like you you
- 1:18Speaker 2: think like, oh, people are only drawn to Lauren. I know, Hey,
- 1:22Speaker 2: you did the same You did the same thing, Lauren,
- 1:24Speaker 2: you were.
- 1:24Speaker 1: All over Randall. I had no one on my team
- 1:26Speaker 1: at the beginning of your podcast.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Wow, you know they come to the show just for me.
- 1:32Speaker 4: You're right.
- 1:34Speaker 2: So my first riveting question is, Lauren, how the fuck
- 1:36Speaker 2: do you get those eyebrows?
- 1:38Speaker 1: Your eyebrows look amazing. I've been staring at them, but.
- 1:40Speaker 5: You feather them perfectly, and you come on, here's the trick.
- 1:43Speaker 5: And I've never shared this on any of my platforms.
- 1:45Speaker 5: I don't know why got to be glued? Okay, you
- 1:49Speaker 5: know men's got to be glued.
- 1:52Speaker 1: The yellow bottle, Yeah, the old hair hairy?
- 1:55Speaker 5: You fully can you put it in your brows and
- 1:58Speaker 5: you brush them straight up? And that is honest going
- 2:00Speaker 5: to change everyone's life.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And by the way, Michael, we.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Just had someone come on the show and for forty
- 2:05Speaker 3: minutes about how.
- 2:08Speaker 1: They pull your face down. You got to brush them
- 2:10Speaker 1: up every day.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Wow, my face is falling off. It's going to be
- 2:14Speaker 3: gone in a year o week.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Got to be glue.
- 2:16Speaker 5: That's honestly the best. That's one of my best beauty
- 2:19Speaker 5: tips I could give everyone.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Got to be glued.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I love that you say that because I have spent
- 2:23Speaker 2: so much money on like these waxes and just everything
- 2:26Speaker 2: to try and get my eyebrows to look like yours.
- 2:28Speaker 1: So got to be glued. Love it. Your eyebrows look
- 2:32Speaker 1: really good. Just just I'm just telling you they look.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Everybody's eyebrows look great. Now I'm like bugging the funk out.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I'm gonna go to the bathroom and check my show.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Eyebrows are important.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Wow, you guys are like, this is intense, Okay, So
- 2:44Speaker 4: I want to I want to hear the history because
- 2:46Speaker 4: I I really need to be educated just on how
- 2:49Speaker 4: you guys met, how the relationship started, because I love
- 2:52Speaker 4: the romance.
- 2:53Speaker 1: You want the breakdown, I want the.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Whole ship you met. You guys said you met when
- 2:56Speaker 4: you were twelve.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Well, Michael was four foot one.
- 2:59Speaker 3: And was twelve.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I was five.
- 3:01Speaker 3: It was in sixth grade.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I was five to seven.
- 3:03Speaker 5: I was the same high I am now, and I
- 3:06Speaker 5: saw him and I thought he was so cute.
- 3:09Speaker 3: You know what I thought. I saw her and she
- 3:11Speaker 3: was the only fully developed woman on the playground.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Because I was I had like I look like I look.
- 3:16Speaker 5: I thought she was the I relate to schuberty early.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and then that was like your peak, that was
- 3:22Speaker 2: you didn't get bigger boobs.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Well I did.
- 3:24Speaker 5: I got fake ones, but like I mean both, Yeah,
- 3:27Speaker 5: I went and got fake ones later.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But when I was little, they were pretty big. Yeah,
- 3:30Speaker 1: Michael was looking at you.
- 3:31Speaker 3: They were the only ones.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I'm going to give her a baby, the real ones
- 3:34Speaker 1: of the class, I mean, who knows.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I looked over I was like, oh, the new subs here.
- 3:38Speaker 3: She's pretty fucking hot.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Wow.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And uh then I realized she was because at the
- 3:43Speaker 3: time I was just doing little kids, so I was
- 3:44Speaker 3: like playing five tether ball handball. And then all a sudden
- 3:46Speaker 3: I looked over him. I became a man that day.
- 3:48Speaker 3: I was like, I grew up right away.
- 3:51Speaker 1: We started dating in sixth grade. What city, San Diego?
- 3:54Speaker 5: Okay, got it, and we we progressed very fast. Like
- 3:58Speaker 5: my dad found us in the closet without t shirts
- 4:01Speaker 5: on at twelve years old. Wow, wow, like crazy, crazy chemistry,
- 4:06Speaker 5: and then like gave him a blowjob like at thirteen.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it's why we were becoming alms. When my daughter
- 4:11Speaker 3: turns thirteen, we're moving to amage country.
- 4:13Speaker 4: You're just you're locking it up.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I would pay back well at twelve.
- 4:16Speaker 5: Yeah, So we had this like very intense connection at
- 4:20Speaker 5: a very young age, and then at about fifteen years old.
- 4:23Speaker 1: We broke up.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Okay, three years together. You're in high.
- 4:26Speaker 1: School now, so you break up at fifteen? We break
- 4:28Speaker 1: up at fifteen, I go for older guys. He does, Like,
- 4:31Speaker 1: that's a typical story, right, kids.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I went to the handball court and cried myself. So
- 4:39Speaker 3: you're in high school together a week as soon as
- 4:41Speaker 3: we started going into high school, right, it's a it's
- 4:43Speaker 3: the same story that every guy goes to the girl,
- 4:45Speaker 3: the young girl goes off with the older guys, leaves
- 4:47Speaker 3: the young guy in the dust. And yeah, and so then,
- 4:51Speaker 3: like we were not together for a long time after.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Did you stay in touch.
- 4:54Speaker 1: All the way we hooked up? Yeah, like you come home,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you were comfortable with each other.
- 4:59Speaker 5: Sometimes we would hook up and then I just leave,
- 5:01Speaker 5: like always so it made him, like I feel like
- 5:04Speaker 5: he just couldn't get enough because I would like, come
- 5:06Speaker 5: and leave, and.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Come and go and then leave.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Well, I sprinkle, Yeah, this sounds really like corny and
- 5:12Speaker 3: I hate it to sound that way. But I had
- 5:15Speaker 3: a lot of other relationships after Lauren, but.
- 5:17Speaker 4: I I thought, you stayed home the whole time.
- 5:21Speaker 3: But I don't. I never feel so proud of those
- 5:24Speaker 3: relationships because I never was really vested in them, right.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I was like, okay, like I'm dating you or you're
- 5:28Speaker 3: my girlfriend or like.
- 5:29Speaker 4: But it wasn't.
- 5:30Speaker 3: No, I didn't have that connection that I had with Laurence.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I didn't really take him very seriously, and I don't
- 5:35Speaker 3: like tell the people, so yeah, like you know, if
- 5:36Speaker 3: it doesn't work out, it's find it. But I think
- 5:37Speaker 3: sometimes that made it worse, you know, because he tells
- 5:40Speaker 3: someone that and they don't believe it, but I really
- 5:41Speaker 3: meant it. I was like, because I just didn't feel
- 5:43Speaker 3: that way with other women that I felt with Laurene,
- 5:46Speaker 3: and so like I had always chaser in pursuit her
- 5:49Speaker 3: because I just knew from an early age like this
- 5:51Speaker 3: was the woman that I loved.
- 5:52Speaker 5: I know.
- 5:52Speaker 3: That's like people say that, but it really was like
- 5:54Speaker 3: a love at first sight connection type thing for me.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I love that we went away to college. He went
- 5:59Speaker 1: to you Bay.
- 6:01Speaker 2: God knows what how best time, ever is what the
- 6:03Speaker 2: best time of your alife?
- 6:04Speaker 3: It was good that we were on a little break.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, all right. So now so now in college,
- 6:12Speaker 4: you're not together, okay, together, stay in touch? So still
- 6:15Speaker 4: hook up on.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Stay in touch? He calls me. I don't pick up.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Not really, that's what you know, not really in touch in college,
- 6:22Speaker 3: like you know, like you come home for the holidays
- 6:23Speaker 3: to see your family, like I would see her sometimes
- 6:25Speaker 3: out at a bar. You didn't hook up, not really, no,
- 6:28Speaker 3: not really.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Okay. So now four years go by, college is over.
- 6:31Speaker 3: High school college over completely. We weren't together.
- 6:33Speaker 5: My friend invites me to Vegas, and she makes a
- 6:37Speaker 5: fit that I go. So I go, and the next
- 6:40Speaker 5: thing I know, I wake up in a Tiara with
- 6:42Speaker 5: a bottle of Rose Champagne next to Michael Boston stop naked.
- 6:46Speaker 3: She's fast forwarding through something.
- 6:48Speaker 4: What happened in Vegas?
- 6:50Speaker 1: What didn't happen?
- 6:52Speaker 3: A lot happened in Vegas. I convinced her to go
- 6:55Speaker 3: on that Vegas trip. We had kind of like seen
- 6:57Speaker 3: each other briefly.
- 6:58Speaker 1: That's the similarities between you and Oh.
- 7:01Speaker 4: I like that.
- 7:02Speaker 3: So I knew that her. We had a mutual friend
- 7:04Speaker 3: that was having a birthday party. And at this point,
- 7:06Speaker 3: like I was like, okay, I got kind of an
- 7:08Speaker 3: opening again. She's on the rocks a little bit with
- 7:09Speaker 3: with her the guy she was dating. I was just
- 7:12Speaker 3: doing whatever I was doing, right you, and I just
- 7:17Speaker 3: went into full pursuit mode. Like I was like, I
- 7:20Speaker 3: was like, you come on this trip. We're doing this
- 7:21Speaker 3: like and I like, you know, wine, dine, like whole thing. Yeah,
- 7:24Speaker 3: And at that time, I was working and I had
- 7:25Speaker 3: a couple of bucks in my pocket, and I was like, okay,
- 7:27Speaker 3: like I can like maybe stand out head and shoulders
- 7:29Speaker 3: above like with this surfer dude she was dating. And
- 7:30Speaker 3: I was like, I can like maybe like get in
- 7:31Speaker 3: there and like short, nice dinner and like be a
- 7:33Speaker 3: gentleman and like do all these things. And then after that,
- 7:37Speaker 3: like we've been together ever since.
- 7:38Speaker 5: He I remember him, and I don't think I've ever
- 7:41Speaker 5: told this story publicly. I remember talking to him at
- 7:43Speaker 5: dinner and I was like.
- 7:44Speaker 4: What are you reading.
- 7:45Speaker 1: He's a huge reader, which is a huge turn on
- 7:47Speaker 1: for me.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Oh, that's cool.
- 7:49Speaker 1: And he said I'm reading.
- 7:51Speaker 5: A book on salt, and I was like what when
- 7:53Speaker 5: He's like, salt, I'm reading about the history of salt,
- 7:56Speaker 5: and he starts telling me all the history of salt,
- 7:58Speaker 5: how salt used to be used as a current, see
- 8:00Speaker 5: and like it used to be his money.
- 8:02Speaker 3: And at one point so it was worth more than gold.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Oh, don't don't get him started.
- 8:06Speaker 3: But yeah, what's the book called? If you like the term,
- 8:10Speaker 3: like if you ever heard the term like worth his
- 8:11Speaker 3: weight and salt, yes, where it comes from because it
- 8:13Speaker 3: was a currency like this.
- 8:16Speaker 4: I just want to understand what would have hited you
- 8:18Speaker 4: to read the book one.
- 8:19Speaker 3: I read a lot of I just sometimes I'll be
- 8:21Speaker 3: looking at stuff and something to catch my eye and
- 8:23Speaker 3: I'm like why, I'm really I've gotten in trouble my
- 8:26Speaker 3: whole life because I asked why eighty times in school
- 8:29Speaker 3: I was terrible student, not because I couldn't learn, because
- 8:32Speaker 3: it was like why why?
- 8:33Speaker 4: Why?
- 8:33Speaker 3: You have you have to give me the explanation, explain why? Yeah,
- 8:37Speaker 3: and even like everything that's going on in the world,
- 8:39Speaker 3: like I get in trouble because I'm outspokeau I'm always
- 8:41Speaker 3: like why why, Like you tell me you want me
- 8:43Speaker 3: to do something, why and if you explain it, I'm
- 8:45Speaker 3: like why, God, so I have to It's like the same,
- 8:47Speaker 3: It's just how it's.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Like answer will yeah, until he comes to okay, I
- 8:52Speaker 2: know why I should or shouldn't do that.
- 8:54Speaker 5: Or questioning the status quo constantly.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I love that and that was a turn on.
- 8:59Speaker 5: And I ever been with a guy that had like
- 9:01Speaker 5: this depth of intelligence.
- 9:02Speaker 1: He was smart. I was attracted to his brain. His
- 9:05Speaker 1: penis is great too, but I was really acted, you
- 9:09Speaker 1: know what I mean.
- 9:09Speaker 5: There was so much emotional intellectual chemistry.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Right, so you had a real deep connection. Yes, okay,
- 9:15Speaker 4: so you hit it again. It's like going back to
- 9:18Speaker 4: the well.
- 9:18Speaker 2: They wake up the next tells you about salt. You're like,
- 9:21Speaker 2: I guess I'll let you hit it again.
- 9:22Speaker 3: I hit it.
- 9:25Speaker 5: I realized that I had been with people that there
- 9:27Speaker 5: wasn't an intellectual which is why I It's like when
- 9:32Speaker 5: you came on the show. I told Michael, I was like,
- 9:35Speaker 5: I completely get it, but I also completely get it
- 9:39Speaker 5: for multiple reasons, like I think you're adorable.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I think sorry, I think he's the cutest on the show. No,
- 9:43Speaker 1: he's very I'm like, very obnited to everything happened.
- 9:47Speaker 5: No, he's adorable, yes, so, but I think that a
- 9:50Speaker 5: lot of people are missing that intellectual chemistry and listen,
- 9:55Speaker 5: everything goes like right, it all goes the looks, all
- 9:58Speaker 5: the shit you.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Have to have.
- 10:00Speaker 4: And by the way, I think people really fuck that up.
- 10:02Speaker 4: It's like you spend so much time looking for the
- 10:05Speaker 4: physical and yes, you got to have that. Obviously, don't
- 10:07Speaker 4: have that. You know, that's that doesn't get you together.
- 10:10Speaker 4: But I'm saying, after like you said, two years, three years,
- 10:13Speaker 4: four years, five years, that shit starts to become not
- 10:16Speaker 4: as fresh as the new car you bought. Now I've
- 10:19Speaker 4: heard and I her and I we have this deep
- 10:22Speaker 4: kind of connection that like we just could talk for
- 10:25Speaker 4: four hours to each other about everything. And I think
- 10:27Speaker 4: you know, when you have that, it doesn't matter about
- 10:30Speaker 4: the right.
- 10:30Speaker 3: I mean, I joke about like Lauren being fully developed
- 10:33Speaker 3: and this and that, and I think if you saw
- 10:34Speaker 3: her pretty Instagram page you would come to a certain conclusion.
- 10:37Speaker 3: But I remember being a kid and getting upset with
- 10:40Speaker 3: her and being like, why do you play this character up?
- 10:42Speaker 3: Like why do you act like I'm like, you're so smart,
- 10:44Speaker 3: you're so like, you're sharp, you're intelligent, all these things like,
- 10:47Speaker 3: and it used to frustrat me, like why do you
- 10:49Speaker 3: put on this front like you're this other like character? Right,
- 10:53Speaker 3: like one thing about Laura and Isaac. But sometimes we
- 10:55Speaker 3: could sit still to this day and like talk for
- 10:57Speaker 3: hours and hours and hours, like all of a sudden,
- 11:00Speaker 3: the sex, you have to have chemistry and all that,
- 11:01Speaker 3: and we obviously have a child, so it's.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Like, so you have, But it's.
- 11:06Speaker 3: The other stuff that I think creates longevity.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Correct.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I fully agree with you.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I think people put so much emphasis on like the
- 11:14Speaker 2: sexual chemistry and if I'm attracted to his looks in
- 11:17Speaker 2: his body, and like you said, Lauren, that stuff fades.
- 11:20Speaker 2: And at some point, you know, you see this beautiful
- 11:23Speaker 2: woman in front of you, but when you see her
- 11:24Speaker 2: every single day, you still know she's beautiful. But guess
- 11:27Speaker 2: what when you see another pretty girl, like, she's going
- 11:29Speaker 2: to catch your eye more so than the person you're
- 11:30Speaker 2: with because it's new, shiny, new object.
- 11:33Speaker 1: What doesn't fade is.
- 11:37Speaker 2: When someone makes you laugh, When you can pick each
- 11:40Speaker 2: other's brains, why you can ask why a hundred times
- 11:42Speaker 2: and educate each other. I mean, Randal and I disagree
- 11:46Speaker 2: on so many things, but I love having those conversations
- 11:50Speaker 2: with him. And it sounds like you guys dude's are.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Constantly like challenging each other. Frank Sinatra said, if you
- 11:57Speaker 3: go on a date with a pretty women, shouldn't be
- 11:58Speaker 3: a staring contest, or it shouldn't just be a daring contest.
- 12:00Speaker 1: And oh, I love that.
- 12:02Speaker 4: I also had this theory back in the day. It's
- 12:04Speaker 4: a little off, but I was like, think about sex
- 12:07Speaker 4: in your relationship. That's what I used to say. Okay,
- 12:09Speaker 4: so let's pretend you're a six day a week sex person. Okay,
- 12:12Speaker 4: it doesn't exist in the real world of relationships, but
- 12:14Speaker 4: let's just pretend. Because people will tell me, oh, I
- 12:16Speaker 4: have it six days a week, even thirty years into
- 12:18Speaker 4: the they're liars, but it's okay, let's play that game.
- 12:21Speaker 4: So let's give it ten minutes of the actual act
- 12:25Speaker 4: six days a week. That's an hour a week. That's
- 12:29Speaker 4: four hours a month, and that's forty fifty two hours
- 12:32Speaker 4: a year. So you're going to gamble an entire future
- 12:36Speaker 4: in lifetime on fifty two hours a year. It does
- 12:39Speaker 4: it doesn't make sense. I love that and if people
- 12:41Speaker 4: just if people realize it's all. But I'm saying if
- 12:47Speaker 4: you took fifty two hours a year or even doubled
- 12:49Speaker 4: it to one hundred hours a year compared to three
- 12:51Speaker 4: hundred and sixty five days and how many hours are
- 12:53Speaker 4: in that, you would never overemphasize that you'd want that
- 12:56Speaker 4: connection in that hot sexual but after that you'd be like, God,
- 12:59Speaker 4: I really better like this person. I better really love
- 13:03Speaker 4: fucking with this person on the daily. And I think
- 13:05Speaker 4: that's that's what has kept us together.
- 13:08Speaker 5: I completely agree with you, and I think what I'm
- 13:10Speaker 5: seeing a lot in this day and age is people
- 13:12Speaker 5: settling because they feel like they have to check a
- 13:14Speaker 5: box for society. And what my biggest advice is is
- 13:17Speaker 5: I would be dead single if it wasn't for my
- 13:19Speaker 5: glory now, I'd be single.
- 13:20Speaker 1: I'd be fine with it. I think I'd be single.
- 13:24Speaker 5: But it comes down to like, not settling, but the
- 13:27Speaker 5: best in.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Every area of your life. Either you wouldn't be single, though,
- 13:33Speaker 1: would you be with.
- 13:34Speaker 3: My process had gone up since I started getting by the.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Way, You're right.
- 13:39Speaker 1: At, Lauren Bosticks at I will use.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Whatever tools in my toolbox to get what I do
- 13:43Speaker 3: two of us.
- 13:44Speaker 4: By the way, By the way, you and I if
- 13:45Speaker 4: we were single, we'd be going out together.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Both of you.
- 13:54Speaker 3: This is my ex girlfriend wife.
- 13:57Speaker 4: I carry her around here. She is such a post.
- 14:01Speaker 5: She says that it's important, though, not to settle for
- 14:03Speaker 5: anything but the best in every area of your life,
- 14:06Speaker 5: and that includes your relationship. If you're settling for something
- 14:08Speaker 5: because you think it's checking the box it's supposed to
- 14:11Speaker 5: be checking.
- 14:12Speaker 1: You're gonna do that in other areas.
- 14:13Speaker 2: In my opinion, when was the Skinny Confidential born? How
- 14:22Speaker 2: did it come to be? And like I know you
- 14:25Speaker 2: said you were like bored you decided to start it
- 14:28Speaker 2: in twenty eleven.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Totally bored. Blogging was not cool.
- 14:31Speaker 5: There was nothing cool about it, Like it was actually
- 14:33Speaker 5: a dorky people were just showing their outfits. And I
- 14:37Speaker 5: was a bartender at a very sort of exclusive bar
- 14:40Speaker 5: similar similar vibes to sir, maybe maybe a little like
- 14:43Speaker 5: it was all the wealthy men in Rancho Santa Fe,
- 14:46Speaker 5: and so I would work there at night and then
- 14:47Speaker 5: in the morning I would wake up, go to school
- 14:49Speaker 5: full time and teach pure bar and plots. And there
- 14:51Speaker 5: I was incredibly unfulfilled and I didn't realize what it was,
- 14:55Speaker 5: and it was because looking back, I was an entrepreneur
- 14:57Speaker 5: and I wasn't tapping into that. So at about twenty
- 15:01Speaker 5: one years old, I'm like, I'm going to start a blog,
- 15:03Speaker 5: and what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna build a
- 15:05Speaker 5: brand off this blog and eventually launch a book, a
- 15:08Speaker 5: product line, build a community. Like I set it up
- 15:12Speaker 5: as a brand when I launched the blog. A lot
- 15:14Speaker 5: of people I think launched blogs to like show their
- 15:16Speaker 5: outfit or their nail color. I launched a blog being like,
- 15:19Speaker 5: how can I give so much value back to these
- 15:22Speaker 5: people so that they can take little tidbits and apply
- 15:25Speaker 5: it to their own life.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Love it.
- 15:26Speaker 5: So I told I tell this story a lot, but
- 15:29Speaker 5: I think it's important for anyone who's listening to just
- 15:31Speaker 5: always go on your own trajectory. I told this guy
- 15:35Speaker 5: at the bar, he.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Was drinking a rusty nail. He's like, what are you
- 15:37Speaker 1: gonna do with your life? I said, I'm going to
- 15:39Speaker 1: be a blogger, and again twenty eleven.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Right, weird, not not popular, totally weird.
- 15:45Speaker 5: And he looks at me and he starts laughing like
- 15:47Speaker 5: a bellow laugh. He's like, how are you gonna make money,
- 15:53Speaker 5: and well he just didn't realize like the whole I
- 15:56Speaker 5: guess he didn't realize that he didn't understand the internet.
- 15:59Speaker 1: He ended up being like the CEO of Airbag.
- 16:01Speaker 3: No no, no, he created he invented the air holy shit.
- 16:04Speaker 5: And so and telling the story is like, you can
- 16:09Speaker 5: have this idea and you can tell the most successful
- 16:12Speaker 5: person and they'll shit on it, but you have to
- 16:15Speaker 5: keep doing what feels right to your intuition and really
- 16:18Speaker 5: committing to that vision. So this was like thirteen years ago,
- 16:22Speaker 5: started this wow, and Michael didn't actually become involved in
- 16:26Speaker 5: anything until the seventh year. And this is something that
- 16:28Speaker 5: I've been doing seven days a week.
- 16:31Speaker 1: When did it turn into a podcast?
- 16:34Speaker 5: Sixteen twenty sixteen, we were drunken Cabo and he goes,
- 16:37Speaker 5: why don't we talk on a mic?
- 16:38Speaker 3: Well, no, what happened was at the time, obviously like
- 16:41Speaker 3: the world of blogging and influencers blew up, right, like
- 16:44Speaker 3: these terms back in the day, like you like now
- 16:47Speaker 3: they call them influencers, but back then they were bloggers, right,
- 16:49Speaker 3: And this world blew up, and people realize like, oh,
- 16:51Speaker 3: there's some real money flowing into the space. Brands are
- 16:53Speaker 3: obviously spending like starting to get involved. There's real like
- 16:56Speaker 3: creators that are going on these social channels and building
- 16:59Speaker 3: little like my co channels and and monetizable brands.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Right.
- 17:03Speaker 3: And I was at the time, I was running behind
- 17:06Speaker 3: like I was running retail businesses and I actually was
- 17:08Speaker 3: heading up a company called jetbed I was CEO, but
- 17:10Speaker 3: make beds for corporate and private aircraft. I'm given super
- 17:13Speaker 3: like Wow, just to show you how behind the scenes
- 17:15Speaker 3: that was not a front Ye, they've laid in the
- 17:18Speaker 3: jet I bet you've probably before if you've laid in
- 17:21Speaker 3: those beds.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Of the Yeah, then go over the dining round table. Yeses,
- 17:24Speaker 4: so we make those those are like twenty thirds like
- 17:26Speaker 4: a lot.
- 17:26Speaker 3: It's it was a good business. Yeah, But but just
- 17:31Speaker 3: to say, like, so we were behind the scenes, like
- 17:34Speaker 3: not front facing at all, not had no plans on
- 17:36Speaker 3: doing anything on the internet, just like you know, behind
- 17:38Speaker 3: the scenes operator. And as her brand kept going, people
- 17:42Speaker 3: would say, well, who's this guy that's always in the background,
- 17:44Speaker 3: Like what's his probably something that.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Exactly say, Yeah, who's this guy? Why what is So.
- 17:51Speaker 3: She's like, hey, can you start, like if you want
- 17:53Speaker 3: to go on? And I was like I'm not going
- 17:54Speaker 3: to be taking pictures and outfits in the streets or
- 17:56Speaker 3: doing the whole thing on the beach. Listen not to
- 18:00Speaker 3: but like, that's not my vibe.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It wasn't your vibe.
- 18:02Speaker 3: No, it's so she's like, well, can you write a
- 18:04Speaker 3: couple of pieces on the blog? And I was like, oh,
- 18:06Speaker 3: once in a while, So I like wrote a couple
- 18:07Speaker 3: small piece you probably go find and like most book wrecks,
- 18:10Speaker 3: I'm like, that's not my vibe either. And I was
- 18:11Speaker 3: focused on operating, but clearly you can't get me to shut.
- 18:14Speaker 4: The fuck up.
- 18:15Speaker 3: So I was like, why don't I love that? We do?
- 18:18Speaker 3: We like, these people have these questions, we want to
- 18:20Speaker 3: answer them. I don't want to write, I don't have
- 18:21Speaker 3: time a social channel. Let's start a podcast started as
- 18:24Speaker 3: a Q and A at the time when podcasting had
- 18:26Speaker 3: still been around but not nearly what it is now.
- 18:30Speaker 3: And so we started that self producing in twenty sixteen,
- 18:33Speaker 3: and like that's the that's when I got involved with
- 18:35Speaker 3: the brand. But it and obviously we called it the
- 18:37Speaker 3: Skinny Confidential Hymn and Her because there was an established
- 18:40Speaker 3: brand that already exists. I was on like, hey, let's
- 18:41Speaker 3: go call it like the Michael Show, Like that made
- 18:43Speaker 3: no sense, right, And that's wheally happened.
- 18:45Speaker 5: We were at a different network and we just saw
- 18:51Speaker 5: everything that they were doing wrong. And Michael's like, I'm
- 18:53Speaker 5: going to blow up this space. I'm going to completely
- 18:57Speaker 5: shake up this category and I'm gonna I'm going to
- 18:59Speaker 5: have people make real money and I'm going to pull
- 19:02Speaker 5: it through their social and I'm going to pull it
- 19:03Speaker 5: to stories and pull it to Instagram and pull it
- 19:05Speaker 5: to the blog because they're missing out on all these
- 19:08Speaker 5: all these other revenues, right, like, let's sell a huge partnership.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Wasn't just that, It was like and I don't want
- 19:14Speaker 3: to say people are doing it wrong. I just felt
- 19:15Speaker 3: that the model, the business model, the way you formed
- 19:18Speaker 3: the contracts, the way you sell, the way you market, like, oh,
- 19:20Speaker 3: it just wasn't updated to a twenty twenty digital world, right,
- 19:24Speaker 3: and like that's the world that form.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:26Speaker 3: And along the way, while I was doing that, I
- 19:27Speaker 3: had an agency. I was helping brands build their products
- 19:30Speaker 3: and sell on lines. Like I understood the backund she
- 19:32Speaker 3: obviously like had the front end. So I was like,
- 19:34Speaker 3: there's just maybe a more updated.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Way to monetize.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yeah, and we And the other thing is like we
- 19:39Speaker 3: understood it because we had and shared the pain con
- 19:43Speaker 3: talking on a mic every week, and like we had
- 19:45Speaker 3: gone through the editing process, We've sold the show ourselves,
- 19:48Speaker 3: we produced we and I was like, I maybe could
- 19:50Speaker 3: do this for other creators in a more productive way
- 19:52Speaker 3: than maybe some of the ways they were doing.
- 19:54Speaker 1: And he had no Hollywood background, nothing.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Wow, and you just figured it all out, just as you.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I'm still trying to.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Why all the time.
- 20:04Speaker 2: So if he would build something incredible because he knows
- 20:08Speaker 2: exactly why, I.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Think. I just came in and was like someone gave
- 20:15Speaker 3: me the if someone gave me the blueprint of like
- 20:16Speaker 3: this is how you create a podcast network. I kind
- 20:19Speaker 3: of just threw the blueprint out the windows and we
- 20:21Speaker 3: started and just restarted. And there's listen, there's some of
- 20:24Speaker 3: that blueprint that's spot on and absolutely incredible, and like
- 20:26Speaker 3: I used elements of that, but then there's other things
- 20:28Speaker 3: like I could maybe do this a different way.
- 20:30Speaker 4: How many years now has the company been in existence?
- 20:33Speaker 3: I started it in the end of twenty seventeen, but
- 20:36Speaker 3: didn't start signing shows until twenty eighteen.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Okay, so three solid years, but four years been formed.
- 20:41Speaker 1: And now do your media has like one hundred shows?
- 20:44Speaker 4: Really?
- 20:44Speaker 1: Yeah? We have?
- 20:45Speaker 2: Fuck?
- 20:46Speaker 4: Yeah, how can we get the call about something?
- 20:48Speaker 3: Yea, why didn't they get the call?
- 20:52Speaker 1: I actually have dmd lalla, probably to the point of
- 20:54Speaker 1: annoying her. Wait, really, you could go back.
- 20:57Speaker 4: I was like, she doesn't read her DM's Well.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I don't blame you.
- 21:00Speaker 5: I don't again, but I was like, I saw you
- 21:05Speaker 5: on the show, and I'm like, oh my god, there's
- 21:06Speaker 5: so much to this girl. I want you on the podcast.
- 21:09Speaker 5: And then I read your book and I was like,
- 21:10Speaker 5: I have to get this girl on the podcast.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Oh that's so sweet.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I love that you even go back.
- 21:15Speaker 4: She's a big fan.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Think we're a big fan.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I've seen every episode of.
- 21:23Speaker 4: This season. Yeah. By the way, I like that. That's
- 21:26Speaker 4: a real boss.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I can say that he watches Housewives, he watches it all.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Well. I think I love any woman who I think
- 21:33Speaker 2: people kind of sleep on.
- 21:34Speaker 1: They're like, oh, she's the blonde with the big boom.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Hello daddy, and it's like and here's my brand boom.
- 21:41Speaker 2: And it's like, holy shit, you just won this dick
- 21:44Speaker 2: measuring contest. Like beyond like I, I think you're inspiring.
- 21:48Speaker 2: I think what you've built is incredible. And I love
- 21:52Speaker 2: two people who who really kind of fuel each other's fire.
- 21:56Speaker 1: You know, when they're in a.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Relationship, you can tell truly love each other.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Well, I think that so much. In marriage.
- 22:03Speaker 5: There's two hills, and I say this, I say this
- 22:05Speaker 5: on our podcast. It's like they're pushing two different boulders
- 22:08Speaker 5: up two different hills. So they're both pushing boulders up,
- 22:10Speaker 5: but it's two different hills. I think a true marriage
- 22:13Speaker 5: is you both pushing the same boulder up the same hill.
- 22:16Speaker 5: And that requires a lot of long term strategy. What's
- 22:20Speaker 5: your vision for your life? You have to have these
- 22:22Speaker 5: conversations to make sure you're on the same page because
- 22:25Speaker 5: some people's vision is a ranch in New Mexico and
- 22:29Speaker 5: the other person's vision is a bel Air mansion. Like,
- 22:32Speaker 5: what's the ultimate vision? And how can we work backwards
- 22:35Speaker 5: to create those systems to get to the goal?
- 22:37Speaker 4: Correct?
- 22:38Speaker 1: I think that's important in a marriage. Marriage is not easy, brutal. Yeah,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I think.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Relationships are a lot of work, and you're constantly changing
- 22:48Speaker 2: and sometimes you're not changing together. So how do you
- 22:51Speaker 2: come back to you know the root of the relationship.
- 22:54Speaker 2: It is a lot of work and it's a lot
- 22:55Speaker 2: of people.
- 22:56Speaker 4: But I think marriage is like people are growing constantly.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Like we're all, you know, wanting to evolve. You got
- 23:02Speaker 4: to make sure as you're evolving that your partner's evolving
- 23:04Speaker 4: with you.
- 23:05Speaker 2: And that's the same, right, No, I agree with you.
- 23:10Speaker 2: So you have a beautiful baby girl. By the way,
- 23:14Speaker 2: I was telling Michael Lauren that I watched your guys'
- 23:16Speaker 2: stories when you were at Hotel de cat I do
- 23:21Speaker 2: not have fomo ever. Okay, I'm completely content in these
- 23:26Speaker 2: four walls called my.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Bedroom watching O G. Housewives all day every day.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I was having so much fomo and then it like
- 23:34Speaker 2: pushed me over the edge when you were with Meredith
- 23:37Speaker 2: and her husband from Real Housewives.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Why don't we all do a six sum next year?
- 23:41Speaker 5: Bring the kids with nanny Nanny.
- 23:45Speaker 3: You guys don't be really fun to get.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Yeah, we're in. We're next year, we're in.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Let's go and next.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Year, let's do it right dir Like at the end
- 23:55Speaker 4: of can so I could just pick up the last few.
- 23:57Speaker 5: Days you have to go with al Pacino, the Mottle,
- 24:01Speaker 5: Tonio and John Travolta.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Then come and hang out with us there, but you do.
- 24:06Speaker 4: We'll go to the am Far Charity at the end
- 24:08Speaker 4: of can together as a group, talk about salt, talk
- 24:11Speaker 4: about salt. We'll question everybody no no, but then everybody's gone.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Then everybody's gone, and then we'll have like a good
- 24:18Speaker 4: vacation because I like it. I like people aren't there.
- 24:21Speaker 4: I love to cap and I like it after can
- 24:24Speaker 4: because it's actually really quiet.
- 24:25Speaker 5: We're fun to go on vacation with two because I
- 24:27Speaker 5: feel like we're self aware. Like you guys go out
- 24:29Speaker 5: to your thing, we'll go to our feet up like
- 24:31Speaker 5: it's no pressure.
- 24:32Speaker 1: We're the same the type of friend that can wake.
- 24:34Speaker 5: Up and say what you're doing today, give me your
- 24:36Speaker 5: itinery someone.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Popping out of the bushes like it's bunch time.
- 24:41Speaker 4: We take people on vacation and sometimes we take like
- 24:43Speaker 4: a group and go to cob or whatever. I'm like, listen,
- 24:46Speaker 4: there's only one mandatory thing, and that's dinner want the
- 24:50Speaker 4: first night, and then I don't need to see any
- 24:51Speaker 4: of you for four nights. I don't give a fuck.
- 24:53Speaker 4: That's how you go, you know, Let's just have a
- 24:55Speaker 4: fun kickoff, get wasted dinner and after that, I'm not interested.
- 24:59Speaker 4: And we're the same way. We don't. We don't have
- 25:01Speaker 4: an Ever.
- 25:03Speaker 5: Sometimes you go on vacation with people, though, and they
- 25:05Speaker 5: want to do breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack and I'm like,
- 25:08Speaker 5: I can't know, you know what I mean, I.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Never go back. I never go back.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I got to recharge my batteries.
- 25:14Speaker 5: I feel like you're like me and where everyone thinks
- 25:16Speaker 5: you're an extrovert, but you're actually an intro I mean,
- 25:19Speaker 5: recharge by yourself.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you got it. You got to recharge by yourself, you.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Know what I mean?
- 25:24Speaker 1: Yes, close the door was listening. Went on vacation with us.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Before, because we're your partners out honestly, don't worry because
- 25:31Speaker 3: if they did, we're never going on vacation with them again.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Yeah right, no, but I'll tell you. We have a trip.
- 25:38Speaker 4: We have a trip to Miami for her for a
- 25:40Speaker 4: birthday with all of our friends. And I just told them,
- 25:42Speaker 4: I said, guys, just so you know, there's no schedule.
- 25:44Speaker 4: There's just a birthday dinner first night, and then we
- 25:46Speaker 4: don't need to see you for four days. Like it's
- 25:48Speaker 4: it's do who wants to vacation. Who wants to go
- 25:52Speaker 4: on vacation be told what to do?
- 25:53Speaker 2: I mean, that's like but you so I'm watching these
- 25:55Speaker 2: stories of you guys and can and I'm like, oh
- 25:57Speaker 2: my god, I have to be there, teleport me now.
- 26:00Speaker 1: But you guys said that it was kind of rough.
- 26:04Speaker 1: It was rough because we thought we were over zealous.
- 26:08Speaker 5: And thought we didn't need a nanny. And what I've
- 26:10Speaker 5: realized is it's not about having a nanny the whole day.
- 26:13Speaker 5: It's just about wanting to go to lunch for two hours,
- 26:15Speaker 5: or maybe I'd like to get laid, Like can I
- 26:19Speaker 5: have like fifteen minutes to myself without her story to
- 26:22Speaker 5: get me like, you know, big eyes in the dark,
- 26:25Speaker 5: like she's jet lagged that the jet lag partner one
- 26:29Speaker 5: talks about either with a baby, it was a lot.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, to contextualize and maybe make it somewhat more
- 26:33Speaker 3: like related, boys, we we went and we just thought
- 26:36Speaker 3: we don't need we can just do all that. She's
- 26:38Speaker 3: eighteen months old. We can go on the long flight,
- 26:40Speaker 3: we can go and change. It tells we can have
- 26:42Speaker 3: the same type of vacation we used to have together
- 26:44Speaker 3: before we had a baby. But we'll just add the baby,
- 26:46Speaker 3: and like you just can't.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Right, just so it becomes me babysitting when he wants
- 26:52Speaker 5: to go to the gym, and him babysitting when I
- 26:54Speaker 5: want to sit and have a glass of road.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and then you miss the whole point of vacation
- 26:59Speaker 4: because you need to re charged with relationship. You need
- 27:02Speaker 4: to recharge.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, that's exactly what Michael said. You guys
- 27:06Speaker 1: are so on the age.
- 27:07Speaker 3: I was trying to get after it and then she's like,
- 27:09Speaker 3: with the babies there, baby can't see it. I was
- 27:10Speaker 3: like trying to put the little blanket.
- 27:13Speaker 2: These like big beautiful blue eyes, like you can clearly
- 27:15Speaker 2: tell she's looking directly at you.
- 27:18Speaker 5: She looks like an African lemur in the dark, like
- 27:23Speaker 5: you know, like she's like staring. I'm like, can you
- 27:26Speaker 5: close your eyes on it? You get what I'm saying though,
- 27:32Speaker 5: because you said like you're like okay, like and Lama
- 27:35Speaker 5: is more like she can just stare at the baby
- 27:37Speaker 5: all time. No.
- 27:37Speaker 4: No, I'm like, bring the fucking nanny in because we're
- 27:40Speaker 4: going to dinner and we're getting at it and we're
- 27:42Speaker 4: gonna have a fucking great night. And whatever happens is
- 27:44Speaker 4: going to happen, and we want.
- 27:45Speaker 1: To come home better.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I'm getting better, she was, And it was like, I'm
- 27:51Speaker 2: not handing off the baby to this person. Yeah, I
- 27:55Speaker 2: was like, now I have her on speed dial. She's
- 27:58Speaker 2: like constantly coming in five months. People told me you'll
- 28:01Speaker 2: be done with the night nurse by three months. No,
- 28:04Speaker 2: fuck that. Last night, you guys, she woke me up
- 28:07Speaker 2: at one. She woke me up at two thirty four,
- 28:09Speaker 2: forty five.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Six forty Moving to the other side of the house,
- 28:12Speaker 4: she goes, you have to be in the office. Go
- 28:14Speaker 4: the fuck to the other side of the house and
- 28:16Speaker 4: go to sleep.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Does it get easier, like eighteen months? Is that easier?
- 28:19Speaker 1: Like what is it like? No? Oh no, no, it's
- 28:23Speaker 1: twenty five.
- 28:23Speaker 3: I wish I could say yes, And eighteen months.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Is snarlier because let me let me give.
- 28:26Speaker 3: You a visual.
- 28:27Speaker 4: This is a visual because they can speak.
- 28:29Speaker 5: You wake up, their eyes opened, they cry, they need Okay,
- 28:32Speaker 5: you give them the thing they need. Then they want
- 28:34Speaker 5: to go on the ground and walk around. And then
- 28:36Speaker 5: this is the thing that you don't even wait till
- 28:37Speaker 5: you see this. They open your drawer, they take your
- 28:40Speaker 5: CBD pens, they take your knife, that you have in
- 28:43Speaker 5: the drawer, they take, they take like your matches. She's
- 28:46Speaker 5: lighting a fuck, the house is on fire.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Has weapons in her drawer.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Sick, she's like ready for a day.
- 28:53Speaker 5: She played for forty five minutes with a piece of
- 28:56Speaker 5: my vitamin wrapper, like it's it's it's anything that's not
- 29:00Speaker 5: a toy.
- 29:00Speaker 1: They want a lovely at least.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Yeah, by the way, that's the evolution.
- 29:05Speaker 5: But she had a knife in her hand once. She
- 29:07Speaker 5: loves grabbing the knives at the dinner table. It's like
- 29:10Speaker 5: anything sticking your hand in my tequila soda.
- 29:12Speaker 4: I mean it's she's a year, year and a half. Everything.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Here's what happened. We went on this trip and it
- 29:20Speaker 3: was easy. She would just sit in one place, and
- 29:22Speaker 3: it's like the moment we decided to go on a
- 29:24Speaker 3: nice vacation, she decided, I can move now, I can walk,
- 29:27Speaker 3: I can scream, I can have tantrums, I can grab everything.
- 29:29Speaker 3: It was like literally on the way at the start
- 29:32Speaker 3: of the trip and we looked at each other, like,
- 29:33Speaker 3: what the hell is going on?
- 29:34Speaker 5: I read about tantrums that you're supposed to say. I
- 29:37Speaker 5: understand that this is bothering you, but we can't do
- 29:40Speaker 5: this because of this, and then you're supposed to go quiet,
- 29:42Speaker 5: like you're not supposed to entertain it. Okay, so that's
- 29:45Speaker 5: been my strategy. So at one point she was running
- 29:47Speaker 5: around the hotel do Cap butt naked Mike.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Screaming and I building.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, you can deal with it.
- 29:56Speaker 4: I'm not entertaining main building or eating rock.
- 29:59Speaker 3: What building. I come home and I'm just from the gym,
- 30:04Speaker 3: Like finally I went to the rex. You just hear
- 30:05Speaker 3: the child screaming, and I was like, what is that.
- 30:08Speaker 3: It's like that sounds familiar. There's not my child. Somebody's
- 30:12Speaker 3: got to get fine, Like one of these asshole parents
- 30:14Speaker 3: got to get their kid under control.
- 30:16Speaker 4: That's where I go to. That's why I go to.
- 30:17Speaker 3: I look over, my kid is butt naked, screaming, having
- 30:20Speaker 3: a tantrum. Lauren is just so lobby.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not doing this. I just not entertaining it.
- 30:29Speaker 3: And at that moment we were just like we like
- 30:31Speaker 3: we give you know.
- 30:32Speaker 2: At some point you you're going to go insane and
- 30:35Speaker 2: you just have to let her like calm herself down.
- 30:38Speaker 4: You I have a hard time with that.
- 30:40Speaker 1: You entertained the tantrums.
- 30:42Speaker 2: I can't ocean had like a go last night.
- 30:46Speaker 4: She was keeping I just had a hard time when
- 30:48Speaker 4: they're screaming and I want to, like, I want to
- 30:50Speaker 4: talk to them and say you could stop.
- 30:52Speaker 3: There was no.
- 30:54Speaker 2: There was no calming her down. She had to do
- 30:57Speaker 2: it on her own. It was like I was holding her.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Then I put her on the lube.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I walked around.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I'm bouncing her binky after binkie. Maybe she doesn't like
- 31:04Speaker 2: this nipple, maybe my own nipple, and like nothing was working.
- 31:07Speaker 2: It was tough, and I'm seeing like hours pass and
- 31:11Speaker 2: finally I was like, Randa, you go sleep somewhere else.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I put my headphones in.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I laid her back in her little bed, and I
- 31:19Speaker 2: was like, yeah, she cried herself to sleep.
- 31:21Speaker 4: But it's it's like that's the hard part for me
- 31:23Speaker 4: because I'm like, I want to react that. She's like,
- 31:26Speaker 4: you gotta just let her sleep. It's like that's a
- 31:29Speaker 4: hard But let's go back to the nanny. Ny. Just
- 31:34Speaker 4: call her on the other side of the house. She
- 31:36Speaker 4: comes running over and before we kill each other, we
- 31:40Speaker 4: hand the baby off and then we can. But here's
- 31:42Speaker 4: the thing. If we were at home working from home,
- 31:46Speaker 4: you know, people then fine, it's a different thing. Like
- 31:49Speaker 4: you could get a two hour nap in the morning.
- 31:50Speaker 4: At two hours, I have to go to an office
- 31:52Speaker 4: every day. She goes to the office every day. It's hard,
- 31:55Speaker 4: you guys know, running businesses and.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Not beyond No, there's no nat like when the baby
- 32:00Speaker 2: goes down for a nap, like I'm at work, bro,
- 32:03Speaker 2: I it's want to catch it.
- 32:05Speaker 5: Here's the thing that people have to understand too. Back
- 32:07Speaker 5: in the day, kids were raised in communities with tons
- 32:10Speaker 5: of people around us, and now I don't.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Have family up here.
- 32:13Speaker 5: Okay, I'm working. I'm working and building my business. I
- 32:17Speaker 5: think it's impossible not to have have help agree and like,
- 32:21Speaker 5: I also think I'm really transparent about it.
- 32:23Speaker 1: I had a night nurse, I had a nanny.
- 32:25Speaker 5: There's a lot of influencers and celebrities that act like
- 32:27Speaker 5: they do it all themselves, right, but do have all
- 32:29Speaker 5: this shit that don't talk about it.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I know, well, because mom's shaming is real. You have
- 32:33Speaker 1: these little troll moms.
- 32:34Speaker 2: That are like, you don't care about your kid, and
- 32:37Speaker 2: it's like, actually, I care a lot about my kid,
- 32:39Speaker 2: and I have this luxury that I'm going to be
- 32:41Speaker 2: extremely grateful for But if I don't get a certain
- 32:45Speaker 2: amount of sleep and I know that I can have
- 32:47Speaker 2: a night nurse, Like I I am not going to
- 32:50Speaker 2: be a good mom the next day if I'm sleep deprived.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Well, at one point, when we first had our child,
- 32:55Speaker 3: my mom's like, you know what, since we don't need
- 32:57Speaker 3: a family up there, you guys don't any help, Like,
- 32:58Speaker 3: don't worry about a night nursing. I'll come up to
- 33:00Speaker 3: your house and I'll sleep up there with you guys
- 33:02Speaker 3: for three months ago. Oh no, you fucking want I like,
- 33:05Speaker 3: you are not. I love you, mom, but I was like,
- 33:06Speaker 3: you are not coming anywhere inside the house. You come
- 33:09Speaker 3: visit you you're here for a visit. It's a scheduled business.
- 33:11Speaker 4: It's a visit.
- 33:12Speaker 3: It's a yeah.
- 33:13Speaker 1: And so you know, the mom shaming is reel.
- 33:16Speaker 5: They started on me when I was postpartum about a
- 33:19Speaker 5: car seat seat.
- 33:20Speaker 4: Belt she had that she had the car seat, that's.
- 33:23Speaker 1: The the car seat was. We were actually parked. But
- 33:27Speaker 1: but they don't. They just fucking go.
- 33:29Speaker 5: And then I wrote a post and I was like,
- 33:31Speaker 5: I'm not the blogger to come at I go somewhere else.
- 33:34Speaker 5: I'm not the one. I don't give a fuck about
- 33:36Speaker 5: anyone's opinion when it comes to raising my child.
- 33:38Speaker 1: And I love that. I'm gonna do you. You do you.
- 33:41Speaker 4: I need you to coach her a little bit.
- 33:42Speaker 1: You just can't. I love that. I love that. Yeah,
- 33:44Speaker 1: like I'm not the one go troll someone else. And
- 33:46Speaker 1: they stopped.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Well, because here's the thing. Even if you do it
- 33:49Speaker 3: the way that those people are telling you to do it,
- 33:51Speaker 3: there's another group that disagrees with that way, and then
- 33:53Speaker 3: I can't win.
- 33:54Speaker 2: There was there was a woman. I took a picture
- 33:56Speaker 2: of ocean and she was in a stroller. And this
- 33:59Speaker 2: woman was like, for the love of God, learn how
- 34:01Speaker 2: to put your baby in a car seat. And she
- 34:04Speaker 2: had like her handle was like so and so and
- 34:06Speaker 2: so and so's mom.
- 34:07Speaker 1: So I responded, I was like.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Babe, it scares me that you have two children and
- 34:11Speaker 2: you don't know the difference between a car seat and
- 34:12Speaker 2: a stroller. It's not a fucking car seat. Like God,
- 34:16Speaker 2: you were you know.
- 34:17Speaker 5: And sometimes you have to call out there there like
- 34:21Speaker 5: outlandish comments like shut.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Up, it's crazy.
- 34:25Speaker 3: I'll give you. I'll give you a line that you
- 34:27Speaker 3: can tell people to say. The coyotes howl and the
- 34:29Speaker 3: caravan keeps moving. That's like it's it's the best, especially
- 34:33Speaker 3: for both of you, because like people are just chirping
- 34:35Speaker 3: in at every angle. Right, It's like you can't, you
- 34:37Speaker 3: can you really can't.
- 34:39Speaker 5: How about just not giving advice over the internet to
- 34:42Speaker 5: other people that you don't know.
- 34:43Speaker 2: But it's like, go do something to someone you you
- 34:47Speaker 2: don't know me, You're not like you said your car
- 34:49Speaker 2: was parked, Like it doesn't matter, You're not in the environment.
- 34:52Speaker 2: You have no idea what's going on at all. I
- 34:55Speaker 2: could be mid taking her out because we're gonna go
- 34:57Speaker 2: on a little stroll, like don't it's just like enough,
- 34:59Speaker 2: shut up.
- 35:00Speaker 1: But also, like my thing again is who has the time?
- 35:04Speaker 1: Like a lot of people have the time. I'm doing
- 35:06Speaker 1: something productive. A lot of people have the time. Okay, well,
- 35:09Speaker 1: but I mean you don't. You can't. Really.
- 35:11Speaker 5: I think that if you should take the productive energy
- 35:13Speaker 5: of focusing on other people's lives and put it towards
- 35:16Speaker 5: your own life.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Well, again, what we kind of talked about on our
- 35:19Speaker 3: show is I try to reverse engineer it and kind
- 35:21Speaker 3: of empathize with the type of like why, like why
- 35:24Speaker 3: are you in a place where you feel you need
- 35:25Speaker 3: to say these things right, And it's most likely because
- 35:28Speaker 3: they're in a pain place, or they're insecure, or if
- 35:29Speaker 3: something's not going well and it's or there's like it's
- 35:31Speaker 3: a reflection on how an inadequacy in their own life.
- 35:34Speaker 3: And so what they're doing is are saying Okay, in
- 35:36Speaker 3: order for me to feel normal and justify my feelings,
- 35:39Speaker 3: I'm going to lash out at others to bring them
- 35:42Speaker 3: into this world of pain. It's like, I think, when
- 35:43Speaker 3: you think about it that way, it's hard to get
- 35:46Speaker 3: angry at those people because you're like, okay, like this
- 35:48Speaker 3: is like a person that may be in a broken
- 35:50Speaker 3: state of mind.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It should be a life coach.
- 35:52Speaker 3: God fuck no.
- 35:55Speaker 2: But you make so much sense and like it's like
- 35:57Speaker 2: you're like the way you put things, it's like, oh, yeah,
- 36:00Speaker 2: that is how I should do things. So I read
- 36:03Speaker 2: that you guys came up with the name. You say
- 36:06Speaker 2: it Zaza, Yes, because you thought that it was Zazagabor.
- 36:11Speaker 1: I am obsessed with Jasaha Bor. I've always been obsessed
- 36:13Speaker 1: with her. Okay, tell me why what it?
- 36:15Speaker 5: Well, she's had eight husbands and she she made money
- 36:18Speaker 5: off each husband, so and became a gazillionaire off each husband,
- 36:21Speaker 5: and I.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Just think it's funny.
- 36:22Speaker 5: I think it's like she like played the game against
- 36:25Speaker 5: the guys back in the day, like she just went in,
- 36:27Speaker 5: no prenup, and just like you gotta read her books.
- 36:30Speaker 5: It's she's really inspired. She's unapologetically herself. She like she
- 36:35Speaker 5: just really was someone who was outspoken in that day
- 36:38Speaker 5: and age, and she didn't.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Play by the roles.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Okay, So I've read all her books and I would
- 36:41Speaker 5: always tell Michael, I'm obsessed with Zazagabor. I'm obsessed with
- 36:44Speaker 5: Zazaabor over and over and finally one day he's like,
- 36:46Speaker 5: it's Jajah.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Was this after you named your baby?
- 36:50Speaker 2: No?
- 36:50Speaker 5: And then I'm like, oh my god, I'm naming my
- 36:52Speaker 5: baby's Azza.
- 36:53Speaker 3: So the name is like because I think that I
- 36:56Speaker 3: think the origin of Jasha is like an old Prussian name.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Maybe it's a Hungarian Okay, maybe I'm wrong, but right,
- 37:03Speaker 3: maybe fact check.
- 37:04Speaker 1: But anyways, he's like, but why.
- 37:06Speaker 3: But I don't like, I don't prefer the name Jaja,
- 37:11Speaker 3: And I was like, if you want to call her Zaza,
- 37:12Speaker 3: you can't spell it Jaja because that's how you that's
- 37:15Speaker 3: how you spell.
- 37:16Speaker 5: We wants what if she wants to do beauty give
- 37:22Speaker 5: them kind of like your name actually la La and Zaza.
- 37:25Speaker 1: No, that's exactly what it is.
- 37:27Speaker 2: I love it, except she's lucky enough to have it
- 37:29Speaker 2: as her government name and mine's just a nickname. Well,
- 37:32Speaker 2: you change your name, I should change my name.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I mean I feel like your name's Laala. My name
- 37:36Speaker 1: is Laala. Do you ever call her Lauren when you're
- 37:38Speaker 1: in a fight. That's a good one.
- 37:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 1: See, But that's the thing, Lauren.
- 37:41Speaker 4: Yours, Laurence's Lauren.
- 37:44Speaker 1: It is Lauren. That's why I go by Laala because
- 37:46Speaker 1: people call me.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Lauren and it's doesn't Lauren.
- 37:50Speaker 1: That's not my name.
- 37:51Speaker 4: What's the different way?
- 37:52Speaker 1: How do you say it? Lauren?
- 37:53Speaker 4: Lawreen?
- 37:55Speaker 2: When I tell people, they're like Laurence, say it Lauren
- 37:59Speaker 2: and Laurence.
- 37:59Speaker 4: And what's other one?
- 38:00Speaker 1: Lauren? Okay, okay, it's kind of weird Lauren and Lauren.
- 38:04Speaker 4: It's like a little.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Customer consumer confusion. Like I can see it's smart.
- 38:07Speaker 3: You just some of the terrible reviews we get on
- 38:09Speaker 3: our podcast. Just to call out our terrible reviews, they
- 38:13Speaker 3: get mad at some of this.
- 38:16Speaker 5: Listen, I'm not giving my energy towards anything it's not
- 38:18Speaker 5: important sometimes.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Be more professional. You have a podcast as you speak, right.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Well, you know what.
- 38:24Speaker 2: The other day someone told me, if you're going to
- 38:27Speaker 2: name a bronzer.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Abiza, you need to say it correctly. It's Abiza.
- 38:31Speaker 4: I don't.
- 38:33Speaker 2: I don't either, I like, I'm American. Z I'm going
- 38:37Speaker 2: to say it because I sound like, say it's.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Actually called a besa.
- 38:41Speaker 4: It is.
- 38:41Speaker 1: You should just say that's what it's called.
- 38:43Speaker 4: It's called what people.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Bronzer is a beisa? Correct?
- 38:48Speaker 3: There is is a Beza.
- 38:52Speaker 4: By the way, I don't even know where that is.
- 38:56Speaker 1: You guys are amazing.
- 38:57Speaker 4: You guys are awesome.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Thing you feel like you're doing. I mean I could
- 39:00Speaker 2: talk to you guys. What's what's the time?
