Transcript
- 0:01SPEAKER_01: A huge week two on the mic blitz.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: Storylines are stacking up on top of each other.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: Michigan, who got booted out of the top 25, hosts Oklahoma Saturday.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Meanwhile, LSU moves up from 11 to 8 and is the home game against Louisiana Tech.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: And the first regular season AP poll dropped a bomb of its own.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Oregon dropped four points from two to six despite winning.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: And they were favored to beat Boise State by 25 and a half and only one by seven.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: And UVA cracked the rankings for the first time at 25.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: This is the Mike Blitz.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: Let's get on to it.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: We're not going anywhere.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: UVA.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Hollywood jump.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Liz gentlemen, welcome to the Mike Blitz.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Mike Wade, my co-host over there, Mark Franzen, Darren Steadman.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: How are we doing this fine evening?
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: What's going on, gentlemen?
- 1:01SPEAKER_04: Feeling good.
- 1:01SPEAKER_04: New AP poll out.
- 1:04SPEAKER_04: Feeling a lot better than Oregon feels.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: I don't know about you guys.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: I was sitting waiting for two o'clock today, Eastern, just to refresh my screen to see where everybody landed.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: I like UVA being in there.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: It's about time they got there.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: I don't know what Missouri's doing in there.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: I kind of think Kansas is going to beat them on Friday night, but we could talk about that later.
- 1:22SPEAKER_04: I like where we're heading with that one, Michael.
- 1:25SPEAKER_04: That's good.
- 1:26SPEAKER_04: You know, while we're talking about AP poll, a lot of people will spam your chat in whatever platform and say that AP poll is worthless.
- 1:34SPEAKER_04: It shouldn't come out until after week six or week eight, or it doesn't do.
- 1:39SPEAKER_04: But okay, so it's not gonna be a predictor of the playoff.
- 1:43SPEAKER_04: Fine, it's just entertainment, folks.
- 1:46SPEAKER_04: This is football on TV.
- 1:48SPEAKER_04: We're just here to be entertained.
- 1:50SPEAKER_04: We just want to talk about something about football.
- 1:52SPEAKER_04: That's all this is.
- 1:55SPEAKER_04: Of course, it's not a predictor of the future.
- 1:57SPEAKER_04: Nothing is but an AP poll.
- 1:59SPEAKER_04: I want an AP poll in mid-May.
- 2:02SPEAKER_04: I want to AP poll all summer long.
- 2:04SPEAKER_04: I want to talk about it non-stop.
- 2:06SPEAKER_04: So that's what the AP poll is, by the way.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: People you we have to appreciate there's some residual scar tissue there because 10 years ago, or 20 years ago, really more accurately, it really did matter because obviously there was two playoff spots, four playoff spots, and then it really doesn't matter at all.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: You could be ranked by the AP 66 right now.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: If you rattle off 12 wins, you win your conference.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty sure you're going.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: You're gonna get to the playoffs, you're gonna get there, you're gonna have your shot.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: You beat the teams in front of you, it's gonna matter.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: So I couldn't agree with you more, but I think the reason people complain so damn much is because they're so used to complaining so damn much, because it used to matter.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Now it's just now it's just nonsense.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Mark, what's new with you?
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Anything?
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you've noticed what's new with me, but I have brand new Iowa gear today.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Uh maybe no free, no free ads.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: So I won't tell you where I got it because they didn't give me a discount.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: But I'll be rocking this Iowa hat as we go to the Cyhawk game this weekend.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Not go to it, but we watch it from our lovely TVs.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Explore it.
- 3:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, super fans.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, on the bandwagon this year, baby.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Love it.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: No, you look good.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Good stuff.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: All right, let's well, tonight's agenda.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: What we're gonna do, we got two ideas.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: We're gonna run through Hunter, go for it.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: We're gonna give you some, I'm gonna give you five or six kind of takes, proclamations of what I think we're seeing.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Mark and Darren, of course, are gonna decide if they're going to go for it.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: They agree, punt, get rid of it.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: And then we'll talk about the week two preview.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: We'll see if we can't do a little bit better.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Our parlay finished four and five, I think, or five or four about five hundred.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Wasn't our best effort, unfortunately, the nine.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: But you know what?
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Because we're gonna try again this week and we might just get it.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Super quick, before we do that, I want to talk about SMU uh beating Florida State last night, 27-24.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: I think our first one of our predictions was Mike Norvell's gonna get canned first.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: That is looking real good.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: SMU turned the ball over four times.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: There was a two-hour delay from a power surge because some drunk guy crashed into the transistor station.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Is that true?
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Oh man, although I think they got some of it back in the second half.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: This has been a week of delays between the LSU game, the SMU game, and now the stupid fantasy draft is delaying our recording tonight.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: It's all about delays in this week.
- 4:14SPEAKER_04: So sorry for you waiting for that Clemson game.
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: Man, I'm sure that was painful for you.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: It was a little painful.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: I was I was sitting there with Mark.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: I was like, it's been eight months.
- 4:24SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Anyway, SMU rolls.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Kev James was good.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: They will clean up the turnovers, they got some talented out wide.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: I think they're right there in the thick of the ACC race, and FSU is just boats in different directions.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: They are going the wrong way.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Going the wrong way for sure.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Five takes.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: We're gonna talk about things we believe, and you guys can decide if you're with me or not.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Let's go start with the first one.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: If there were no preseason polls, LSU would be number one.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: We're talking about the polls are always preconceptions who's good, who's always good, pretty good national championships, recruiting classes season.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: There, I don't think anyone's done anything as impressive as LSU, and I think they would deservely be.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: I think there is a top tier of college football, which is and most everybody in the polls agreed.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana, Miami, Notre Dame.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: That was pretty much everyone's one through seven.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: And now I think LSU is in that group.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: I think there are eight top dogs in college football.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: And if we were starting the season with a clean slate, if we had men in black, press the memory button, you forget everything.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: It's all you can see.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Tell me who's had a better start to the 2027 season.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Punt or go for it?
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: LSU number one.
- 5:36SPEAKER_04: Gotta go for it.
- 5:37SPEAKER_04: LSU and the top three.
- 5:40SPEAKER_04: Exactly what you said.
- 5:41SPEAKER_04: Ohio State and Georgia beat the bejesus out of nobody, so who cares?
- 5:46SPEAKER_04: Notre Dame was struggling in the first half.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: First half.
- 5:50SPEAKER_04: Old Miss came out with a win against a pretty plucky team, but they were a hair away from losing.
- 5:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, LSU just simply manhandled Clemson, like I said before, the way Virginia Tech manhandled VMI.
- 6:04SPEAKER_04: It was a similar beatdown, and LSU is a eight right now in the AP poll.
- 6:10SPEAKER_04: I don't get it.
- 6:11SPEAKER_04: I do not get it.
- 6:12SPEAKER_04: People, please explain to me.
- 6:14SPEAKER_04: I I understand how Miami is above them, Indiana, everybody took care of their business.
- 6:20SPEAKER_04: Oregon's still above them.
- 6:22SPEAKER_04: This the other side of the coin, I'm talking about AP polls are great all year round.
- 6:27SPEAKER_04: But here in the week one, it's just confusion.
- 6:31SPEAKER_04: It's wonderful to talk about, but they shouldn't be LSU shouldn't be behind Oregon.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: What do you think, Mark?
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: With all due respect, Mike, you won one game.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: You beat a crappy Clemson team.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: And yes, you LSU played wonderfully the other night, but you're coming off a Brian Kelly got fired season.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: I need to see more than one game before I anoint you the team in the nation.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: All right, number two, Bryce Underwood will be benched before October 1st, and he will not be on the team in 2027.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I adjusted that one a little bit for this for you guys.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Bryce, I want to make it a little bit more of a hot take.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: Bryce Underwood will be benched before October 1st, and he will not be on the team in 2027.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Let me clarify one thing really quick, though.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: I am still bullish on Michigan's program.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: I love Jason Beck.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: I love J.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Hill, the coordinators.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: I think Kyle Winningham's doing the right thing.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Their offensive line blows in Western Michigan will get cleaned up.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Still the best receiving core they've had in God knows how long.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: I love their backs.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: I love their defense.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Bryce Underwood is holding this team back.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: The freshman behind him is Tommy Carr.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: He's got some real buzz in camp, I'm hearing.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: This is Lloyd Carr's grandson, CJ Carr, Notre Dame quarterback's younger brother.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: I think you're gonna see him under center before October.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: Punch or go for it.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Who wants it?
- 7:47SPEAKER_04: Mark, what you got here?
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I originally no go for it.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Absolutely go for it.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: They're gonna get destroyed with Oklahoma this week.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: I think they've got a non-conference game after that.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: But I believe on September 26th, they will be playing the Iowa Hawkeyes.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: And I bet he gets benched in the second half of that game, and it's before October 1st.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: So take that.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Yes, he will be benched.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: And will he go somewhere else next year?
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: God, there's so much money on the table.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: And I don't know what the NIL deals are.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: Like, is he contractually obligated to stay there for a certain amount of time, or can just LSU throw money at him and bring him in there as a backup?
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: Anybody can throw money.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: I'm of the opinion that he's not gonna sit anywhere.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: He's gonna want to go get developed somewhere.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: And Michigan's gonna be happy to take him off their books and pay for somebody and put that NIL dollars towards somebody else.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: So if they decide to bench him with Tommy Carr or somebody else, this is a happy breakup for both parts.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: So I'm thinking after, and I yes, Iowa has a way better defense than Western Michigan.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: That western Michigan defense gave him fits.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: So you're talking about Oklahoma, the arguably the best defense in the country with David Stone, those guys, and like what they're gonna do with that defensive coordinator, their blitzes, their disguises, it's just so confusing.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: Then Iowa is also a punishing, stifling, suffocating defense.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: We all we talk about their offensive woes all the time, but nobody has any questions about Iowa.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: So you're talking about two outstanding defenses in three weeks after what we saw in Western Michigan and the bad Springs report, he's not gonna survive.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: What do you think, Darren?
- 9:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I got a punt because if you're throwing in October 1st, that's asking a whole lot.
- 9:25SPEAKER_04: If you loosen that up a little bit, I'd probably go for it because the stretch in October is brutal.
- 9:31SPEAKER_04: We got Iowa, Minnesota, Penn State, Indiana.
- 9:35SPEAKER_04: Okay, you can lose to Indiana, but they're gonna lose a couple of those, I would say.
- 9:40SPEAKER_04: And so if you go a four-game stretch, Iowa, Minnesota, Penn State, Indiana, that's when the tables completely turn.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: And yeah, they've given Bryce Underwood a full season and a half.
- 9:52SPEAKER_04: That story checks out.
- 9:54SPEAKER_04: After they go two and two, if they lose to Iowa and they're two and two, they're not pulling him quite yet, but in October they will.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Do you think if he shows no signs of life?
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Obviously, you'll probably get the win in that non-con game between Iowa and Oklahoma, wherever that is.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: If he shows no signs of life for three weeks, you'll say he'll they'll keep him in, or he will show signs of life in the next three weeks.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: Are you saying he will improve, or are you saying, regardless if he doesn't, they're gonna keep him in anyway?
- 10:22SPEAKER_04: They're gonna keep him in anyway.
- 10:23SPEAKER_04: I think I think if Iowa keeps impressing, if they get the beat down by Iowa, they're gonna be two and two.
- 10:29SPEAKER_04: They're gonna because believe it or not, remember this they did win last week.
- 10:35SPEAKER_04: It's like that's a W.
- 10:37SPEAKER_04: That's a W.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: As of right now, they've won.
- 10:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
- 10:39SPEAKER_04: The game ain't over yet.
- 10:41SPEAKER_04: I feel like they're total losers, but they're actually one-o.
- 10:44SPEAKER_04: And so let's say after Iowa, they're two and two.
- 10:46SPEAKER_04: They're keeping them in, I think.
- 10:47SPEAKER_04: And they're gonna say, get we go into Minnesota, and Minnesota, Bryce Underwood, that's a team that you should beat.
- 10:53SPEAKER_04: And then we're gonna play Penn State at home, and you should beat them too.
- 10:56SPEAKER_04: That's when they're gonna pull the trigger.
- 10:59SPEAKER_04: And do I think it'll happen?
- 11:01SPEAKER_04: Yes, I think it'll happen.
- 11:02SPEAKER_04: They'll pull the trigger on him because they're gonna lose those games.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: The disconcerting thing for me that's so bad is obviously last year, true freshman, the Sharon Moore, fiasco, like all of that.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: That's uh you can chalk all up to distraction, but he had a bad spring too.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: We talked about this in the preseason episodes.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: There have been red flags up for a while.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: Kyle Winningham has had eyes on this kid doing it.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: What I think we're seeing in Bryce Underwood is a classic example of somebody who's just a world-class athlete, throw the ball mile, big strong kid.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: He just out-athleted everybody, every step of his way, his entire life, up until now.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: And now he is in a major college football program.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: He has to process information, he has to make the right reads, he has to make the right calls, and it's a level of football that he's never had to do because his athleticism, his pure god-given talent, which is we can all see through the roof, just isn't enough at this level.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: And that's what I think we're running into.
- 11:52SPEAKER_04: I punt, but if we respot the ball and give us a couple inches closer to the line to gain, and you say give me October, then yeah, I'll go for it.
- 12:02SPEAKER_04: Halloween.
- 12:02SPEAKER_04: Right, by Halloween for Halloween.
- 12:04SPEAKER_04: By Halloween, the deal is done.
- 12:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: All right, let's keep it rolling.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: Dabbo Sweeney, two-time national championship, one of two coaches active in college football, other one being, of course, George Kirby Smart.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Two-time national active championship quarterbacks will not be coaching Clemson week one of 2027.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Puncher, go for it.
- 12:24SPEAKER_04: Go for it.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: Go for it.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: So I've been reading a little bit about Dabo this week because Paul Feinbaum just went off on him on ESPN right after the game, or at least Sunday morning.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: But there are other insiders that say that those people at Clemson love him.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: And I think they owe him 57 million if they cut him in the year.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: It's 60 million in the offseason.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: That's a ton of money, but I think he's beloved there.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: And I that's why I think he's gonna stay.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Money is a little bit of it, but I think the boosters and the school just there, I think they're gonna give him another chance.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: I think where they'll invest the money is a better offensive and defensive coordinator.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I think his NIL budget could obviously be improved as well.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: There are things that Clemson can do to try and revive, and it's but it seems like he has improved.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: He is using the portal better.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: He is coming around, it's probably taking him too long.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: I'm sure right now he's kicking himself saying, I was a king of the castle three years ago, four years ago, and I really dragged my feet on this NIL stuff, and the whole sport passed me by.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: So now he's playing catch up, he's got to get back to where he was.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: The good news for them is he's done it before when he inherited Clemson in 2009 or whatever it was.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: Like Clemson was not a good ACC team for quite a long time.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: So he has built the program back up to a real level of being top of the sport.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: So maybe he could do it again.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: I just don't think so.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: I think the sport is passed in by, I think these retread coordinator hires Tom Allen and uh Chad Morris.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: Chad Morris.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: I think Clemson's in trouble.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: I think that school needs a reset.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: I think Dabo's done fat fabulous things to put them on the map.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: I think it's I think it's time to pass baton.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: And I think the powers will do it.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 14:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I gotta go for it.
- 14:03SPEAKER_04: The saying is, what have you done for me lately?
- 14:06SPEAKER_04: Thank you very much for all the national championships, and now we're gonna change our direction.
- 14:10SPEAKER_04: That's just how the administrations go these days.
- 14:13SPEAKER_04: We're just in a a season, an era of show me the money, what where are we?
- 14:19SPEAKER_04: There's no loyalty.
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: Sure, they love him, they're gonna hang his banner or whatever, but there's no loyalty as far as 2026.
- 14:26SPEAKER_04: We'll get a statue.
- 14:27SPEAKER_04: My quote, the quote that I'll stand by is don't be shocked by being shocked.
- 14:32SPEAKER_04: And whoa, they fired Dabo! Like, wow, everybody.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: Nope, just don't be shocked.
- 14:38SPEAKER_04: When that happens, it's gonna happen to him, a couple others, some others you didn't see coming.
- 14:44SPEAKER_04: It started with James Franklin last year.
- 14:46SPEAKER_04: Everybody's shocked to the core.
- 14:49SPEAKER_04: And I say I say, don't be shocked by being shocked right now.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: I like that.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, really good.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: Let's keep it rolling.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Next one talking about Ole Miss quarterback, old Miss Coach, excuse me, Pete Golding.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: Pete Golding brings nothing to the table as a head coach.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: He was fired as Alabama's defensive coordinator.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: Ole Miss hired him.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: He was promoted from within on about a week's notice when Lane Kiffin left, obviously unceremoniously from Ole Miss's perspective, and was hired.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: He beat Georgia in the playoff game, which obviously I'll give him credit for that.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: I have some things to say about that specific matchup and why Georgia was such a good matchup for them, specifically their pass rush.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: But anyway, he got the win and he had the playoff win against who's the other one?
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: It was JMU, I think they beat, or somebody, yeah, somebody uh two lane.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: I think two lane in the playoffs.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: So he won two playoff games.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: I think he's riding those coattails.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: That defense was terrible against old Louisville.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Really, I saw nothing that was to me signed.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: He is the defensive corner, he's the defensive guy.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: That offense was built by Lane.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Kewan Lacey, Trinidad, and Chablis are arguably the best backfield offensive battery duo in college football.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: I really do believe that.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: They are going to drag this team to seven, eight wins.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: What happens when they both move on?
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: And Pete Golding has to rebuild an offense for Ole Miss without Trinidad, without Kewan, without Charlie Weiss Jr., without all that brain power that's now at LSU, including Lane.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: I don't see it.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: I just don't think he's a good coach.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: I don't think he's thinking the table.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: And I think Ole Miss is on fraud watch.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: I think you're looking at an eight and four team.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: Would be worse if it weren't for those two guys.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: Punt or go for it.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: Pete Golding, nothing to offer.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna punt on that one.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: I know he beat you said he beat two lane.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: Confirm that.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: Beat Georgia.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: They lost to Miami by four.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: Miami was a good team.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: Yes, I think the defensive backfield really struggled in that game, but I still think the defensive line got pressure.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they had pressure throughout that game, and they looked good in the first half.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: Now, the second half, it was Swiss cheese defense, but I'm not gonna I'm not gonna go that extreme yet.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: I think he's a good coach.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: I don't think they're gonna go to the championship by any means, but I think he's a good coach.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: I got to quick trivia question for you guys.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: What SEC team finished dead last in sax in 2025?
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Take a guess.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: LSU?
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Is Ole Miss?
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Are you leading the audience?
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: George was dead last in sax in 2025.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: They had no pass rush last year.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: That's why they won that game.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: The only way to beat Trinidad is to get him to the ground.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: That's what they couldn't do in that game.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: That game was a very favorable matchup for Ole Miss.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: That's my point.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: The whole story is my point is Ole Miss, that was a great matchup for even though Georgia is a really good football team.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Ole Miss knew how to expite that.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: And that was really they had no pass rush.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: So Trinidad could just stay open, stay on the field, keep drive alive, keep plays alive, which is exactly what he did.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I love Trinidad.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: I love Keywon.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: DuTow Sanders is stud out wide.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: So Terry Perkins, Will Eccles, they have talent.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: I'm just I'm out on Golding.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: Darren?
- 17:44SPEAKER_04: It's a tough one.
- 17:45SPEAKER_04: It's they have a really high 66% returning production from last year.
- 17:51SPEAKER_04: So yeah, they have all their guys that Kiffin built.
- 17:54SPEAKER_04: Pete Golding, is he just a flop of a coach?
- 17:59SPEAKER_04: The other side of that coin is that somehow, some way, they won the game.
- 18:05SPEAKER_04: So fourth quarter against a real plucky Louisville.
- 18:09SPEAKER_04: Louisville had everything going for him.
- 18:11SPEAKER_04: And Brahm, a really good coach.
- 18:13SPEAKER_04: And somehow, yeah, so Pete Golding had them ready, took them through the fourth quarter.
- 18:20SPEAKER_04: A crap coach, as you're saying, would have blown something.
- 18:25SPEAKER_04: Pulled the classic Mario Cristobal flop, right?
- 18:29SPEAKER_04: In the fourth quarter.
- 18:31SPEAKER_04: He would have tripped over himself and given the game away.
- 18:34SPEAKER_04: But he didn't.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna look at this in week 11 and we're gonna say, oh, Mark Mike was so right.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Or wow, what a bad take by Mike that was.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: It's one of the two.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: We're gonna find out.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: We're gonna find out here pretty soon.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: Be very polarizing.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Louisville should have won that game.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: There's like nine penalties for 84 yards, that crazy block field goal, 15 yards, like just inexplicable mistakes.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: Like I my point is, I think if Louisville plays that game a hundred times, they win at least 50 of them.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: They really had a chance there, but whatever to win.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, get credit for doing that.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: I'm moving on.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: USC, Southern California, Lincoln Riley, Jane Mahaven guys, with a defense is the best national title threat that nobody is talking about.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: So let me set the table a little bit.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: We already talked about the upper crust, those big seven, big eight teams that were generously including LSU on out.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: Southern Cal is 14 in the AP polls.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Nobody has given them any love.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: Make the case for anybody below 14 right now that you think uh could the legitimate threat to win the national championship.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: I would put USC at nine.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: I know what Lincoln Riley can do with an offense.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: I know that Jaden Maiva is a stud.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: They are loaded with freshman talent and they are playing.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: I get that it's San Jose State, I get that it's Fresno, so you know, pump the brakes, maybe a little bit.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying they have a defense, they can win it all, they just might.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Putter, go for it.
- 19:53SPEAKER_04: You're asking if they are the dark horse of all the dark horses.
- 19:58SPEAKER_04: Um and so looking at the AP poll, is Tennessee that team?
- 20:04SPEAKER_04: Is somehow Utah, Iowa that team?
- 20:07SPEAKER_04: I don't think so.
- 20:08SPEAKER_04: Are these teams that are built to win the national championship?
- 20:12SPEAKER_04: I say USC is built to win the Natty.
- 20:16SPEAKER_04: So we're you're looking good so far.
- 20:18SPEAKER_04: BYU, yeah, I think I'm gonna go for it.
- 20:21SPEAKER_04: I think you're exactly right.
- 20:22SPEAKER_04: They're the dark horse built, ready-made to take it to the natty.
- 20:27SPEAKER_04: But yeah, go for it.
- 20:28SPEAKER_04: That's a good take.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: What do you think, Mark?
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: It's fourth and two, and I'm going for it, baby.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: We talked about Kennedy Urlacher the other day.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: They had the number one recruiting class in 2026.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: They've got the number one defensive end, Luke Waffle.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: Man, they looked good.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: Gary Patterson in there as defensive coordinator, and Lincoln Riley came out and said, he goes, This is the best collective team that he's had at USC so far.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: I think you're right.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a hard track, but they're they could be a very good team.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: One of the trends with these teams that are loaded with superstar freshmen, and we've seen Clemson teams like this, Alabama teams like this, LSU defensive line this year, is the team that they because they're so young, the team they are in week one is not the team they are in week nine.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: They get so much seasoning by the time they get to November, or the time they get to the playoffs, it's almost as if they're sophomores, they're no longer freshmen.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: My point, USC, given their injection of so much young talent, and Mark's exactly right, number one recruiting class, they those guys are all gonna be seasoned sophomores players by then, all effective purposes.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: So you're talking about a team that could really go up notches.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: Worth noting the next two games Lafayette at home and at Rutgers.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Ruckers is actually the worst team in power four.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: We know that now, given what happened to the UMass situation.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: So we're not gonna know until three weeks from now when they get Oregon at home, which all of a sudden, big circle around that game for me.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: I'm very excited about USC Oregon.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Is that a clean sweep?
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Are we all going for it on that one?
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: I think all of us are going for it on the other one.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's the only one so far.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: All right, and the last one, this one I personally might even punt on.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Oklahoma State, despite losing to Tulsa, a tough loss at the Golden Hurricanes, is gonna get pounded by Oregon.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: They're gonna lose this coming week.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: They're playing they're hosting Oregon and still compete to win the Big 12.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: Listen, okay.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: Losing to the Golden Hurricanes by 14 is not a good look.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Oregon's gonna come in with their NFL roster and they're gonna beat the brakes off him.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: I get that.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: But I gotta give Eric Morris some some time.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: I still love Drew Mastermaker.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: I still love Caleb Hawkins.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: That offensive line was totally out of sorts.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: They're gonna clean that up.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: These guys have played together for a long time.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: They're gonna reconnect.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: The Big 12 is still it's still is playing craps.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: You're still rolling the dice.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: I don't like what I saw out of.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: I'm banking heavily on the don't oversell what you what you bought in week one.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm happening here.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: I'm Oklahoma State, I'm still in on.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: I'm coming back.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Maybe I might punt on it.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 22:52SPEAKER_04: Here's what's going on, Michael.
- 22:54SPEAKER_04: You got you got a preseason bull prediction hanging on the back of your shirt, and it won't let go.
- 23:01SPEAKER_04: You got you got some mesti you've said mesti-maker more than any podcaster in the country.
- 23:08SPEAKER_04: You we're talking about an 0-2 team.
- 23:11SPEAKER_04: Uh you got all emotion, no brain going on here.
- 23:14SPEAKER_04: So this is the clearest punt.
- 23:16SPEAKER_04: This is fourth and 18.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: Deep in your own end zone.
- 23:22SPEAKER_04: Deep in your own end zone.
- 23:23SPEAKER_04: This is a punt of all punts.
- 23:25SPEAKER_04: Houston looked really good.
- 23:27SPEAKER_04: Handled their business.
- 23:28SPEAKER_04: The Big 12 has some dogs.
- 23:30SPEAKER_04: Texas Tech's gonna have an opponent.
- 23:32SPEAKER_04: It's not gonna be the Cowboys.
- 23:33SPEAKER_04: See you later, Mesti Maker.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 100% agree with that one.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: I'm punking on that one.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: They've got five tough road games: West Virginia, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, and Arizona State.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: After the way they looked against Tulsa, I don't give them a chance.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this might just be me effectively doubling down on a bad preseason take.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: So I also might be punting on this one as there you go.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: Unanimous.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: That's putting unanimous punt.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Even my own bad take.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: That's a your punter go for it for week two.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: We're gonna jump into the preview of week two.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: We're gonna walk through the games.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: Well, like I said, we'll come up with some bets, the ones we agree on.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: We'll build them into a parlay.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: So let's go ahead and jump right in.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: Mark, where do you want to start?
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: We're gonna start with the team.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: We just talked about Oregon going to Oklahoma State.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: They hit the road for the first time this season, Oregon does as they go in at number six, falling down four places.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: They go against an 0-1 Oklahoma State team that we got saw got run out of the building by Tulsa in Eric Morris's debut.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: I think the Ducks are a massive 22 and a half point favorite.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Kickoff is Saturday, noon Eastern at T-Boon Pick in Stadium.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: Guys, is there any way in the world Cowboys even keep this respectable?
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: So we all saw the C game.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: They almost lost to Boise at home in Outson.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: I want to give Boise a lot of credit for playing well, but a lot of that was Oregon not playing well.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: Just like Lincoln Riley let his threes come in for the game one, and then game two, he said, nope, gotta fix that.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Pitch the shutout.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: I'm expecting the same kind of game one to game two recovery here.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: I expect an overcre correction in some respects.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: I think Oregon's gonna lay it on thick.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: I got Oregon by 37.
- 25:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and I will sprinkle a little dusting of respect on MestiMaker's name.
- 25:21SPEAKER_04: And they have the capability to backdoor cover this thing, score 14 in the fourth quarter.
- 25:27SPEAKER_04: That's great.
- 25:28SPEAKER_04: So the bet that I would go for on this game is actually what we ended up saying last episode in the quick six the halftime spread is Oregon by 13 and a half.
- 25:39SPEAKER_04: And so I think that's what Oregon is pounding their chests about this week.
- 25:43SPEAKER_04: First quarter, first five, first drive, second quarter.
- 25:47SPEAKER_04: Don't let up, show your nature in the first half.
- 25:51SPEAKER_04: And so I got Oregon minus 13 and a half first half.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: And then get this, get the starters all out, get the Yeah.
- 25:57SPEAKER_04: And the Cowboys might have a little backdoor cover in the end of it.
- 26:00SPEAKER_04: Mr.
- 26:01SPEAKER_04: Maker can still sling that ball.
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: He did.
- 26:03SPEAKER_04: He's a gunslinger.
- 26:04SPEAKER_04: First half, though.
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: Go ahead, Mark.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: No, you know your turn.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: 13 and a half, half times read Oregon to cover.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: I think that's a great call.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: I think they came out slow against Boise State because their defensive coordinator went to Cal.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Their offensive coordinator went to Kentucky.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: And I just think new coordinators, new guys, let's just I think they just came out, stubbed their toe.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: I think the game against Boise State would have been a lot different if that muff punt didn't go that way.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: I know I said it on yesterday's episode, but I think Oregon started to turn it on.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: And I love that bet.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna I'll put that in my oh yeah, Parlay.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's go ahead and lock that in for that first game.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: Oregon minus 13 and a half first half.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: Good sub.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: All right, where's next?
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: Staying with an Oklahoma school number 11.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: Oklahoma is gonna head to Ann Arbor to face Michigan that needed that 47-yard Hail Mary just to survive against Western Michigan.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: Michigan dropped out of the top 25.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: They're at 28.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: They're still receiving some votes.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: The Sooners are a five and a half point road favorite.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Noon Fox.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Big, what do they call it?
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Big game Saturday.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: We talked a little bit about Bryce Underwood earlier.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: Big game Saturday.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: Is there any chance Michigan's offense wakes up for this?
- 27:13SPEAKER_04: Man, there is a chance because Michigan still has players.
- 27:18SPEAKER_04: Players just got embarrassed.
- 27:20SPEAKER_04: They got Kyle Whittingham.
- 27:22SPEAKER_04: I love the combination of as much as we've been dunking on Michigan.
- 27:27SPEAKER_04: I gotta look at Whittingham and his experience.
- 27:29SPEAKER_04: I gotta look at the roster, it's still full of dudes.
- 27:34SPEAKER_04: They just got embarrassed, I believe.
- 27:36SPEAKER_04: And so they're pounding their chest like Oregon is, like I just said.
- 27:40SPEAKER_04: Keeping it close, five or six points.
- 27:42SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm gonna say though is Oklahoma's gonna cover that six points.
- 27:46SPEAKER_04: And I'll put my money on that, but like a little bit.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: So that's this line has moved quite a bit.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: I mean, obviously, the Western Michigan really downgraded everyone's ability, really would downgrade everyone's thought what Bryce Underwood could do.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: I think they're playing at home, they're playing with all eyes on them, all the pressure at the world, and despite getting the quote unquote win last week, I think their defense will play as far.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: They do have a great defense.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: I think their offensive line is gonna be a lot better.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: John Matthew has still has to.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: This is one thing, Darren, you were high on John Matthew coming in.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: He's healthy this year, he can throw the ball.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: He looked okay in the line, I think it was a UTA game that they go some 60 or nothing.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: For my money, he hasn't shown me yet my point.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: There's a world where if John Matthew is their running game, they can't run the ball the way they're supposed to, or if John Matthew really hasn't improved as a passer and they become one-dimensional, there's absolutely a way that Michigan defense in the big house, playing fired up, knowing that they're gonna have to win this game by themselves if Bryce Hunter was struggling.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Like there's I could absolutely see a backdoor cover.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: I thought the line would have exploded to eight, eight and a half.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Obviously, those folks in desert didn't agree.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: There's a good reason for that.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: They're better than this than we are.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: Five and a half is still a substantial amount of points.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: I want to lay, I want to lay them and I want to bet on Oklahoma to cover, but I am I'm not, I don't feel as great as I did now that I've said I've chewed on it for 24 48 hours.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: What do you think, Mark?
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: I took it at four and a half.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: I'd take it at five and a half, too.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: But I wouldn't throw it in the parlay if you're not confident in it, because I've I see you as the guru here.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: I also think Tommy Carr might come in this game.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: Like, what's Tommy Carr comes?
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 29:27SPEAKER_04: You know what we're kind of saying here?
- 29:29SPEAKER_04: It's maybe adding up to here's a crazy idea.
- 29:32SPEAKER_04: Under 44?
- 29:34SPEAKER_04: Are we looking at a 14 to 17 game here?
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't yeah, I don't think either team's gonna get 21 points.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: And that would easily be an under.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: I would feel better with the under.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: I don't think there's gonna be any big plays.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: I don't think there's gonna be any explosive.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: I think everyone's gonna be playing it close.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: I think we're gonna see a lot of punts.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna Michigan's gonna try everything they can to get Jordan Marshall and Savion Heider, our local boy, going.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: I think Oklahoma's defense is going to confuse the bejesus out of them.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: Uh, so yeah, and talking about the 12-15 game.
- 30:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, talk about Whittingham.
- 30:05SPEAKER_04: He had Cam, what was Cam's name at Utah a couple years ago?
- 30:09SPEAKER_04: Cam rising.
- 30:10SPEAKER_04: Oh, Cam.
- 30:10SPEAKER_04: Cam rising.
- 30:11SPEAKER_04: Cam rising.
- 30:12SPEAKER_04: And so I think we're gonna see Mathir and Underwood just run the ball and get those long, sustained first down drives, and we're gonna have a 14 to 15 final.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, or 17 punts.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: In part one in the notes, I literally said there might be two bad throwing quarterbacks.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: Right, not just John Mateo.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: Okay, the more you've talked me into it.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: I like the under.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: Mark, we go we're good with the under.
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll do it.
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: I took the straight bet at four and a half on my own, but I will I'll support the parlay under on this one.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: That's a good stuff.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: All right, next game, Ohio State travels to Austin for a rematch of last year's CFP semifinal with Julian Saiyan and Arch Manning, both undefeated and both squarely in the Heisman race.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: Number four, Texas.
- 30:55SPEAKER_01: Actually, it's a narrow home favorite on this one.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: They are favored by one and a half, 730 ABC.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: Who's got the edge in a true coin flip of a game?
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: What I want to know is what version of Arch Manning we're getting.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: The version where he was confident playing really well down the stretch the last half of the season, or the guy, the first half that wasn't so good.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: I think Texas is the more talented team, top to bottom.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: And even though I Ohio State obviously is loaded with talent, I think Texas is probably pound for pound the most talented team in the country.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: I think that you have a hard time finding a better pair of receivers than a wingo and cam.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: I think Colin Simmons, their pass rusher off the edge, is gonna be is gonna be a big deal.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: That all said, I think Ohio State is the more steady thing.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: I think Texas is more talented, I think they should win, but I just think being consistent and traveling well and meeting the moment is just something Texas hasn't historically done.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: And I'm not sure Sarkeesians gets them there as much as he should.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: I could be talked out of this entirely, but I kind of want to go Ohio State to win, unfortunately.
- 32:42SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna say that your own words, Simmons on the edge, gonna disrupt Julian Saiyan, gonna render Jeremiah Smith a little a little bit less than he should be.
- 32:54SPEAKER_04: And we got Cam Coleman's because Coleman and Winko are just gonna bail out Arch.
- 32:59SPEAKER_04: Arch is gonna flip that sidearm ball up in the air, and Coleman's just gonna get up there and he doesn't care who's guarding him.
- 33:04SPEAKER_04: And so I got Texas pulling out some offense out of nowhere.
- 33:09SPEAKER_04: And so I like Texas to win this thing, and I actually also like the over 49 because I think this these two teams are gonna pound each other, and I think the fourth quarter is gonna be score back and forth three scores in two minutes at the very end of the game, and it's gonna be electric, it's gonna be awesome.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: Both offensive lines are also good, not great.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: There's a world where they both get super disruptive.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: That's probably the reason why I brought up Colin Simmons.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: He's gonna be a top five draft pick.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's one of the best.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: Either him or Dillon Stewart are probably the best defensive ends in college football right now.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: He could be the difference.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: If I was betting on Texas, I my bet is more a bet on Colin Simmons and less a bet on Arch Manning because of how high I am on him.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: The over sounds good, but is it turnovers?
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: Is it gonna be I'm cool with being a stay away on this one?
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: I you could talk me to Texas.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: You call me tomorrow.
- 34:00SPEAKER_00: I might agree with you, Darren.
- 34:01SPEAKER_00: I've been going back and forth six times on this game.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: I don't feel good enough to put this game in our parlay.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: I were too wishy-washy.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: There's other ones I have more confidence in.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: I do like the over, though.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: I like what you're saying about that.
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: But coming from either a moneyline pick, Texas to cover, I don't I wouldn't choose either of those for our parlay this week.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: All right, no a Fafita and the number 29.
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: I like to go beyond the people 25.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: Those those guys still getting votes.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: Let's give them a number.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: Iowa, the Arizona Wildcats hit the road for their Big 12 opener against number 15 BYU.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: A team that just hung 63 points on a team I had never heard of, Utah Tech.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: And the Cougars are a seven and a half point home favorite, 330 on Fox.
- 34:41SPEAKER_01: And Arizona hasn't won in Provo since 1975.
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: According to Google Gemini.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: What do you guys think on this one?
- 34:51SPEAKER_04: So I love BYU.
- 34:53SPEAKER_04: No secret.
- 34:54SPEAKER_04: I think they're complete top to bottom.
- 34:56SPEAKER_04: And this number, as far as a betting perspective, they are just begging people to please bet some money on Arizona.
- 35:05SPEAKER_04: Because I believe the sharps know that BYU has this covered easily.
- 35:10SPEAKER_04: And so lay those seven and a half points, lay the ugly eight points because they're gonna win by 14.
- 35:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they just got it.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: I totally disagree.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: Bear Bachmeyer has got to prove that he can be better with his arm.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: What BYU is good at is playing good defense, which they will do, running the ball.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: LJ Martin is a stud running back.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: Bear Bachmeyer, we think he was a true freshman last year, we think he's gonna take a step forward as a passer.
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: Hasn't happened yet.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: And his risk and his wide receiver core, his tight end, his pass catchers are nothing to write home about.
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: Here's my point Arizona is going to, if they have a chance to win this game or keep it close, they are going to stack the box and they are going to force Bear Bachmeyer to beat them.
- 35:53SPEAKER_00: Uh they're good enough to do that.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: And I think they are, I think they have enough talent, they're strong and physical enough that they can do that and they can play single high coverage because I don't think anybody BYU is really gonna get open.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: On the other side, Noah Fafita had a nice bounce back last season.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: He is a senior, I think it's his 37th start.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: He's not gonna be intimidated.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: I like Noah Fafita a lot.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: I don't think they'll win.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: I think Mark's right about 1972, whatever he said.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: But I'm all over Arizona plus seven and a half going up there and giving them all kinds of trouble because I just don't think Barr Bachmeyer is a separator.
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: Maybe not yet.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: Maybe he will be, but he's not yet.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: Mark, what do you think?
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen much of Arizona this year to have a dog in this fight.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna, since you both split, I'm just gonna say I abstain and not add this one to my parley.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, let's keep it.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: Let's keep that.
- 36:43SPEAKER_04: Is this me taking my turn to double down on my preseason bold prediction?
- 36:49SPEAKER_04: If that was going on in inside of my you, yeah.
- 36:53SPEAKER_04: So this is like you did it for Oklahoma State, and now I'm doing it for BYU.
- 36:57SPEAKER_04: So maybe we should just stand down a little bit.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's stand down.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna lay Arizona.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna play the seven and a half and bet on the side, and I'm sure Darren will bet on BYU in the side, so we'll have our chance to rub each other's faces next to you.
- 37:07SPEAKER_00: But for the parlay, let's say hey, winner buys the other guy beer.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: There it is.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: There it is.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: I like that.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: I get plus seven and a half, you get mine seven and a half.
- 37:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:17SPEAKER_01: Whoever wins will buy both of us beers.
- 37:19SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: Deal.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: Mark.
- 37:22SPEAKER_01: No, Mark Simpson.
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: Um, Darren, the only way I would bet this game is if you put it in the Darren's Discord day of parlay that hit last week.
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: This is a heater.
- 37:33SPEAKER_01: Posted it about 10 in the morning, and it was Tarlington State, who you love.
- 37:37SPEAKER_01: It was Alabama halftime at 16 and a half, and they were up by 20 of the Baylor individual team total.
- 37:46SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: Team total, that was the easiest$82 I'd made.
- 37:50SPEAKER_01: Throw it in for our next game.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: Mississippi State is going up to Minnesota.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: Both teams enter the season one and oh with blowout wins.
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: Vegas can't decide who's better.
- 37:59SPEAKER_01: The lines bounce between the pick-'em and a field goal both ways.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: Kickoffs 330 on CBS from Huntington Bake Stadium and the Bulldogs' first ever trip to Minneapolis.
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: The over-under on this one is 55 and a half.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: Guys, what are you thinking about this toss-up of a game?
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: So the line has moved a little bit.
- 38:18SPEAKER_00: It was Mississippi State being favored.
- 38:20SPEAKER_00: Now it's crossover.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: Now Minnesota, it's actually a pick'em as I'm looking at it on FanDuel as we speak.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: I don't love that, but what I do love is Camario Taylor.
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: I love Mississippi State's quarterback.
- 38:31SPEAKER_00: He is awesome.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: The true sophomore is big, strong, talented.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: They run that Jeff Levy RPO.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: They've got two great bath and fluff bothwell and JJ Hill.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: I thought Anthony Evans is an awesome receiver on the outside.
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: They have offensive talent in a lot of places.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: Their defense has a ton of holes, I admit, but I think Zach Arnett is a talented defensive coordinator.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: And what I really like about this game is they're going to Minnesota at a time where the weather's not going to be an issue.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: If this game was in November and it was negative seven degrees, which tends to get in the Twin Cities, sure.
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: I'll play them.
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: There's no those Mississippi boys have all kinds of trouble.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: But for all my all counts, it's like gonna be a nice warm day.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: Weather won't be an issue.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: I think Mississippi State is gonna have speed and options and threats for them, and they're gonna score a lot of points.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: I think Mississippi State is gonna go up there and announce themselves as a mid-tier SEC team, not a bottom-tier SEC team.
- 39:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's a tough one because you got two like narratives fighting against each other.
- 39:27SPEAKER_04: One is that Mississippi State is the doormat of the SEC, they suck, and so you know, on one side of the coin, it's like this is a fraudulent team.
- 39:39SPEAKER_04: They put up a ton of yards.
- 39:41SPEAKER_04: They got Camario Taylor coming out last week.
- 39:44SPEAKER_04: He has played one game, he is a young kid, and so everybody this is like he hasn't been proven.
- 39:51SPEAKER_04: So on one side, it's like they're fraudulent, and Minnesota is actually an established team playing at home.
- 39:58SPEAKER_04: And so both those things fighting against each other.
- 40:01SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 40:01SPEAKER_04: I would actually go with that movement of the line and say somebody knows something about Minnesota.
- 40:08SPEAKER_04: Minnesota has the medicine for Camario Taylor, and so I'm with Minnesota actually.
- 40:14SPEAKER_00: Minnesota Mississippi State's weak weakest point offense is definitely their offensive line.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: Minnesota's got a good one.
- 40:19SPEAKER_00: They've got one or two guys that are actually probably NFL guys.
- 40:22SPEAKER_00: Darius Taylor is a phenomenal running back, and I'm high on Drake Lindsay, the Minnesota quarterback as well.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: They've got some good things going for sure.
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: I could see an offensive grind it out, run the ball down their throats from Minnesota type game.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: Just keep Camario Taylor and all those speedy guys off the field.
- 40:41SPEAKER_00: I kind of think that's what PJ Flex is gonna try and do.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: Just kind of slow the game way down, limit the possessions, give the ball to Darius Taylor a whole bunch.
- 40:49SPEAKER_00: Drake Lindsay's gonna make a lot of really good sound decisions, and that's how you get, I think, that Minnesota outcome.
- 40:55SPEAKER_00: But I'm really impressed with what I'm seeing out of Camario Taylor.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: And hot damn, man, when you got a good quarterback, man, you got a lot.
- 41:02SPEAKER_00: So maybe stay away here.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: Mark, what do you got?
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: I've been looking at draft teams right now, and they still have Mississippi State as a one and a half point favorite, but 69% of the bets are going towards Minnesota on the money line.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: It's a 50-50 spread of one at Mississippi State favorite by one and a half.
- 41:19SPEAKER_01: It's really close there.
- 41:20SPEAKER_01: I I don't feel convincing on either of these to throw them in the parlay.
- 41:26SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 41:26SPEAKER_04: Open following if we're staying away.
- 41:28SPEAKER_04: Mark, if you were to flip a coin and pick one, I'd go with you.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and that's why I want to win money this week.
- 41:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: It's like lasers out.
- 41:38SPEAKER_01: There's gonna be a missed field goal at the end or some stupid special team play that's gonna screw up our parlay.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: That's what I feel like.
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: That's how close this game is.
- 41:46SPEAKER_04: And like we said in the quick six, I said this is the 330 window.
- 41:50SPEAKER_04: So when you're hungry for some football, this is gonna deliver.
- 41:53SPEAKER_04: This is gonna be a great game to watch around five, five thirty.
- 41:57SPEAKER_04: They're gonna be slugging it out.
- 41:58SPEAKER_04: So can't wait to see this one.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: I sorry, it's interesting.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: 86% of the bets on DraftKings are going for the over at 55 and a half.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of money going there.
- 42:09SPEAKER_01: I'd be interested as it gets closer to the end of the week.
- 42:12SPEAKER_01: If that goes up higher, I might go the under.
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: But Mike, what do you think?
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: I like Mississippi State and Minnesota to score.
- 42:18SPEAKER_00: Two good quarterbacks, two defenses with a lot of holes.
- 42:21SPEAKER_00: I think Minnesota's defense is better, but it's not a complete unit by any means.
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: And Mississippi State, same way.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: They've got a first round cornerback, and Kelly Jones, I think his name is, and not much else.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: Gettable squaws of both sides of the ball.
- 42:32SPEAKER_00: You could talk me into the over.
- 42:34SPEAKER_00: Again, in Minnesota, good weather, good conditions for throwing the ball and running the ball.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: And that RPO, they tend to go pretty quick.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: 55 and a half is gettable.
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: They have explosive players on either team.
- 42:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, I would say Anthony Evans had a big day against UL Monroe.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 42:51SPEAKER_00: I think Fluff Balfwell, the running back, is also very explosive.
- 42:53SPEAKER_00: Yes, Mississippi State absolutely does.
- 42:55SPEAKER_00: Darius Taylor is more of your grinded out power back.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: He's going to get you yards, but he's not a he's not the home run threat, if that's what you're asking.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: I don't feel good about betting the over if they have a powerful running back that's just gonna run and eat the clock.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: That's the only thing I would be hesitant on the over there, but Darren I cut you off going.
- 43:11SPEAKER_04: No, they scored a defensive touchdown.
- 43:13SPEAKER_04: Drake Lindsay only passed for one passing touchdown, 264.
- 43:18SPEAKER_04: It's the opposite of explosivity.
- 43:21SPEAKER_04: So yeah, Minnesota doesn't seem like they are an over-type of a team.
- 43:26SPEAKER_04: I think this is gonna be so high.
- 43:28SPEAKER_04: More of a grind.
- 43:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, more of a grind.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: Let's stay away from this one.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: There's one I think we can agree on.
- 43:37SPEAKER_01: Arizona State is going to Texas AM, number 42, if they let us go that high.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: Rolls into college station fresh off a 70-7 win over Morgan State, which you would expect them to win.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: Number 10, Texas AM is still laying a two touchdown favorite at home.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: Noon kickoff, ABC, Kyle Field.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: Is the Aggies number two heavy, or is Arizona State walking into a buzzsaw?
- 44:00SPEAKER_04: Like I do hope we agree.
- 44:02SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna go Texas AM to roll and lay them points.
- 44:05SPEAKER_00: We think Cutter Bowley's a good quarterback, man.
- 44:09SPEAKER_00: He threw for six touchdowns last week.
- 44:11SPEAKER_00: I know it's against Morgan State.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but he's and Kenny Dillingham's a good coach.
- 44:15SPEAKER_00: I I'm I like both the Arizona schools, as you can tell this week.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: I like Arizona at BYU.
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: I like Arizona State.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: Uh Texas AM.
- 44:22SPEAKER_00: Texas AM was also bad on the lines, and they've lost a lot of guys.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: I'm not convinced they could they're gonna be able to stop the run at all.
- 44:29SPEAKER_00: 14 and a half is a lot of points.
- 44:32SPEAKER_00: Marcel Reid.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: I I would find if I had a play here, I think it would be the over.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: Over 15 and a half is what I'm seeing on FanDuel.
- 44:41SPEAKER_00: I'm not convinced that Texas AM's woes.
- 44:45SPEAKER_00: And I and it's just 14.
- 44:46SPEAKER_00: 14 and a half is just too much points.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: That's two that's more than it's more than two touchdowns.
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: I think Arizona State is another one of those mid-tier Big 12 teams that can absolutely come up and bite you.
- 44:55SPEAKER_00: And they've got a good coach and they've got a good quarterback.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: I do not want to give away more than two touchdowns to that guy.
- 45:01SPEAKER_04: Good coach, good quarterback.
- 45:04SPEAKER_04: I don't love Cutter Bowley and what his experience is about stepping into the big house against this defense.
- 45:11SPEAKER_04: They might get shut out.
- 45:13SPEAKER_04: But then again, I mean do love Dillingham.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: AM's run defense was not good last year.
- 45:19SPEAKER_00: Just remember that they got some incredible schedule bounces this way, and they lost a lot of talent, including to those two linebackers who were superstars.
- 45:26SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying Arizona State has some vaulted rushing attack, but I'm not saying AM is some great rushing defense either.
- 45:32SPEAKER_00: At least they haven't been last year.
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: They might be this year.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: They might get better at the trenches, but uh you can run on AM.
- 45:38SPEAKER_00: At least that was the story in 2025, despite the fact they went 11 and 1 and lost the playoffs.
- 45:43SPEAKER_04: We are given too much credit to the Arizona State Sun Devils for what they did two years ago.
- 45:49SPEAKER_04: They ain't got no Scattaboo, they ain't got no San Levitt.
- 45:52SPEAKER_04: They're gonna come into this SEC big house and get blasted.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: Hard place to play.
- 45:59SPEAKER_00: I think we're too far apart on the spread, but where are we in the overunder?
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: Do we see this game being a scoring affair?
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: I would bet the over.
- 46:06SPEAKER_04: I could definitely bet the over.
- 46:08SPEAKER_01: I'm with you guys.
- 46:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: I'm taking the over.
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: Leg number three.
- 46:13SPEAKER_00: Good stuff.
- 46:13SPEAKER_00: AZ.
- 46:15SPEAKER_01: Now we're going to Lexington, Kentucky.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: Number 12, Alabama makes its first true road trip of the year to Lexington, where Kentucky just dropped 45 on Youngstown State in their first year, Coach Will Stein, a Kentucky native who spent the last three seasons of the offensive coordinator in Oregon.
- 46:31SPEAKER_01: Um he developed Bo Nicks and Dylan Gabriel into draft picks along the way.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: The tied are 10.5 favorites, 330 on ABC, SEC Nations in town, and this one's got the juice.
- 46:46SPEAKER_00: I'll open up.
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: I like Kentucky plus 10.5.
- 46:49SPEAKER_00: I have not learned my lesson from the East Carolina debacle last year.
- 46:52SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you why.
- 46:53SPEAKER_00: Kentucky has a good offensive line.
- 46:55SPEAKER_00: They're not people, but people aren't really talking about they've had a good offensive line.
- 46:58SPEAKER_00: Will Stein, the offensive coordinator from Oregon, a head coach, is a good offensive coordinator.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: Kenny Minchie lost his job to CJ Carr.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: This is the reason why I like the plus 10 and a half.
- 47:07SPEAKER_00: This is what I'm really betting on.
- 47:08SPEAKER_00: We just saw Lincoln Keenholes, who lost a job to Julian Sain at Oregon at Ohio State.
- 47:14SPEAKER_00: He's a darn good quarterback.
- 47:15SPEAKER_00: Louisville is going to be really happy to have him.
- 47:17SPEAKER_00: They got some juice this year.
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: I think we're going to see that happen again.
- 47:20SPEAKER_00: My point losing losing your job, losing a starting job of somebody else isn't great.
- 47:26SPEAKER_00: But if he loses somebody who's really good, and we all think CJ Carr is really good, Darren, I think you picked him to win your Heisman.
- 47:32SPEAKER_00: That's not necessarily a bad thing.
- 47:34SPEAKER_00: Finishing second place tonight, that might be all right.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: Kenny Minchie's got is a really good quarterback.
- 47:39SPEAKER_00: 10 and a half points at home, Alabama on the road.
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: This is a classic Kaylin DeBoer trap spot.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: Remember, he lost that at the Diego Pavia game.
- 47:48SPEAKER_00: There are games that he just doesn't show up for.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: I think it's trappy.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying they win.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: I'm saying they don't cover.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 47:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, 10.5 points looks really good, but it's once again, it's one of those betting lines where the nice people at Las Vegas are just begging for you to bet that 10.5.
- 48:04SPEAKER_04: It just looks so juicy from a home underdog to give those 10 and a half points.
- 48:11SPEAKER_04: What I really do like here is the over 49.
- 48:13SPEAKER_04: I'm thinking about Kaelin DeBore in those Washington days and Michael Penix a couple years ago.
- 48:19SPEAKER_04: I think he's finally got his guy, and he just can't wait to run, throw some bombs, score 50 points by themselves.
- 48:27SPEAKER_04: And like you said, Kenny Minchie, he's got what it takes to score against Alabama.
- 48:32SPEAKER_04: Will Stein coach, quarterback combination.
- 48:34SPEAKER_04: It's gonna be a high-scoring game, I think.
- 48:36SPEAKER_04: Over 49 looks good to me.
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: That's why I like Kentucky plus 10 and a half.
- 48:41SPEAKER_00: If Vegas is telling us that they're gonna have a hard time scoring seven touchdowns, there are only so many outcomes that happen where Alabama has to be so dominant to beat them by more than 10 points and stay at the 49 point decibel.
- 48:56SPEAKER_04: You want to hook the double wagon to the Kentucky Wildcats?
- 49:02SPEAKER_00: What would that be?
- 49:03SPEAKER_00: The over and plus ten and a half?
- 49:04SPEAKER_04: We probably shouldn't combo those two things, but that's what we're saying.
- 49:08SPEAKER_04: Plus 10 and a half and an over, and we're just gonna have a barn burner 33-33 in the fourth.
- 49:15SPEAKER_00: And that's we're putting a lot of stock in Kentucky being able to move the ball consistently.
- 49:20SPEAKER_00: Because Alabama does have a good defense, and the secondary is really good.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm really this is me betting on Kentucky's offensive line being much better than East Carolina, and I think Kentucky's gonna be able to move the ball.
- 49:32SPEAKER_00: I'm scared of the over.
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: Can I get you on the plus ten and a half or are you out on that?
- 49:36SPEAKER_04: Let's go to Mark on that first.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: I love the plus ten and a half.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: I like it more than I like the over.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: But we need consensus here, Darren.
- 49:48SPEAKER_04: I'm not afraid to stand up against you two brutes.
- 49:51SPEAKER_04: But I'm not gonna do it this time.
- 49:52SPEAKER_04: I'll go with you.
- 49:53SPEAKER_04: Let's go Wildcats plus ten and a half.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: Good stuff.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: Let me see.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: My my deciding factor is Phil Steele ranks offensive lines, and I want to see where he had Kentucky in his rankings for offensive.
- 50:07SPEAKER_01: Let me see real quick.
- 50:09SPEAKER_01: Alright, he has another 44th best offensive line, just ahead of Baylor, just behind Minnesota.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: And for Kentucky, that's pretty good, frankly.
- 50:20SPEAKER_00: That's the over.
- 50:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:24SPEAKER_01: I'll do the plus ten and a half.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: I'm good on that one.
- 50:27SPEAKER_03: All right, good stuff.
- 50:28SPEAKER_01: The Wildcats.
- 50:29SPEAKER_01: Oh right.
- 50:30SPEAKER_01: Okay, now this is one.
- 50:33SPEAKER_01: I like I think I like this one.
- 50:35SPEAKER_01: Cal, Tosh Lupoy is bringing his team off of their loss to UCLA to Syracuse, fresh off of a 66-3 domination of New Hampshire.
- 50:45SPEAKER_01: And the Orange is favored by three and a half in the ACC opener for both teams.
- 50:49SPEAKER_01: Kickoff 330 on the fast turf.
- 50:51SPEAKER_01: Up in Syracuse, a big early test for Cal on the road.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: Three and a half points is what Syracuse is favored by.
- 51:01SPEAKER_01: I like Cal.
- 51:03SPEAKER_00: Syracuse stinks.
- 51:04SPEAKER_00: Their over-under win total is four and a half going into this year.
- 51:07SPEAKER_00: I got no faith in what Syracuse is doing.
- 51:11SPEAKER_00: On the flip side, JKS is, I think, one of the best quarterbacks in the ACC, one of the best quarterbacks in the country.
- 51:17SPEAKER_00: I recognize Cal has a lot of holes in their roster.
- 51:19SPEAKER_00: He can't do it all himself, but he can do enough to beat an over-under four and a half team Syracuse, which isn't even an intimidating place to play in that dome.
- 51:27SPEAKER_00: I got Cal going the road and winning outright.
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: I love me some Cal this week.
- 51:32SPEAKER_04: Man, I wish I could say that I was with you from the beginning, but I wasn't.
- 51:37SPEAKER_04: I was gonna go Syracuse here.
- 51:40SPEAKER_04: Love me some Steve Angely.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 51:45SPEAKER_04: What he did two years ago at Notre Dame?
- 51:47SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 51:47SPEAKER_04: That's a good question.
- 51:49SPEAKER_04: But I think I could be I don't have strong opinions here.
- 51:54SPEAKER_04: I do like the looks of JKS.
- 51:56SPEAKER_04: They did not show their best side against UCLA last week.
- 52:00SPEAKER_04: And yeah, Cal and Tosh.
- 52:02SPEAKER_04: Tosh learned a lot as a new head coach at this level.
- 52:05SPEAKER_04: So yeah, they might just hit the road.
- 52:07SPEAKER_04: We're talking about a road dog coming across the country.
- 52:11SPEAKER_04: But yeah, who the hell is Syracuse?
- 52:13SPEAKER_00: How about plus three and a half?
- 52:15SPEAKER_00: Feel make you feel better than that?
- 52:16SPEAKER_00: I do love the feel goal in the hook.
- 52:18SPEAKER_04: Once again, it's like uh it's a carrot dangling that I probably it's a it's a baited fish hook that I probably shouldn't eat.
- 52:26SPEAKER_04: But uh if you guys like th plus three and a half, once again, I'm with you fellers.
- 52:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's do cow plus three and a half.
- 52:34SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'm a little over my britches here.
- 52:36SPEAKER_00: I I think again the week one to week two thing, Cal is gonna improve.
- 52:39SPEAKER_00: That cow UCLA game was close until the end, and then it went sideways and they blew him out.
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: And this the final score was not at all indicative of what actually happened.
- 52:49SPEAKER_00: I think Cal is better than the final score shows them.
- 52:52SPEAKER_00: And I'm just I refuse to believe in a Syracuse team.
- 52:55SPEAKER_00: That's over on over on Wintola's four and a half at Steve Angeli's quarterback.
- 52:58SPEAKER_00: I got Fran Brown, love you as a D-Bax coach.
- 53:01SPEAKER_00: I just don't think this is it.
- 53:02SPEAKER_00: So I got Cal going in there with the way we're just bringing Steve Angeli, but JKS is a way better quarterback.
- 53:08SPEAKER_00: So I'm taking three and a half points going in there.
- 53:10SPEAKER_00: That checks out with yeah.
- 53:13SPEAKER_01: All right, our next game, Marcus Stokes and the Memphis Tigers bring their perfect two and oh record to the blue turf of Boise, fresh off of nearly upsetting number two, Oregon, still favored by a touchdown and a half.
- 53:26SPEAKER_01: Actually, it's an eight and a half now.
- 53:28SPEAKER_01: Kickoff is six o'clock on the USA network.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: Both of these group of six contenders have playoff aspirations, and they feel like this is like a play-in game.
- 53:37SPEAKER_01: Guys, what are you thinking about?
- 53:39SPEAKER_01: Memphis going to Boise State.
- 53:41SPEAKER_04: Blue turf, baby.
- 53:43SPEAKER_04: Is this gonna be the greatest game of the day?
- 53:46SPEAKER_04: Is this gonna be more electric than Ohio State and Texas Longhorns?
- 53:52SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 53:52SPEAKER_04: We gotta tune in for this one.
- 53:54SPEAKER_04: Loving it.
- 53:56SPEAKER_00: Boise isn't gonna beat themselves in this game.
- 53:58SPEAKER_00: I cannot believe how crisp and how efficient and how uh operationally sound they were in outset.
- 54:05SPEAKER_00: And this time they get them at home.
- 54:06SPEAKER_00: They can't start 0-2, and they don't.
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: I love Memphis, I really do.
- 54:10SPEAKER_00: I think Mark Stokes is a phenomenal quarterback, I think he's gonna do well with them.
- 54:14SPEAKER_00: I think that defensive line duo that we saw ruined you and LV's day, tapping Kinsler, they're gonna have to get after it big time.
- 54:21SPEAKER_00: And I think Boise's gonna have a plan to neutralize them.
- 54:24SPEAKER_00: Still bullish on Memphis.
- 54:26SPEAKER_00: I really do like Memphis, but I was confident Oregon was gonna beat the brakes off Boise, and it did not happen.
- 54:31SPEAKER_00: Boise might be truly excellent.
- 54:33SPEAKER_00: It hurts me to do say this, but I got Boise covering.
- 54:38SPEAKER_04: We are just wrestling each other here, Mike Wade.
- 54:41SPEAKER_04: I can't do it.
- 54:41SPEAKER_04: Eight and a half is a lot of points for that beautiful team that we saw in white and blue beat UNLV uh in week series.
- 54:52SPEAKER_01: They didn't look as good as week two.
- 54:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and my heart is with Memphis.
- 54:56SPEAKER_00: I want you to know that Memphis is one of my favorite teams this year.
- 54:59SPEAKER_00: I really like what they're doing.
- 55:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let Charles off.
- 55:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I love their coach.
- 55:03SPEAKER_04: Franzen, what'd you see in week one out of Memphis?
- 55:06SPEAKER_04: No confidence.
- 55:07SPEAKER_01: I liked what I saw out of Memphis against UNLV.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: What I didn't like is I now they beat Arkansas State due to 24, but I think that game was a lot closer than the score indicated.
- 55:18SPEAKER_01: And they let Arkansas State move the ball.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: When I thought the defense was stout against UNLV, they weren't as stout against Arkansas State.
- 55:25SPEAKER_01: So I don't know.
- 55:26SPEAKER_01: I like Boise definitely to win.
- 55:28SPEAKER_01: I don't know about eight and a half, though.
- 55:31SPEAKER_00: And Arkansas State is not the team you should be giving up 24 points to if you're Memphis.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: If you're trying to make noise as a G6 playoff team, you can call it emotional letdown after going to Vegas to get that big UNLV upset at the time.
- 55:43SPEAKER_00: And now they're going at Boise.
- 55:45SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be rabid there.
- 55:46SPEAKER_00: There, Maddox Madsen is a good quarterback.
- 55:48SPEAKER_00: He really impressed me that Oregon game.
- 55:51SPEAKER_00: I want to bet Memphis, but I'm all Boise in this one.
- 55:54SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, the line did move.
- 55:56SPEAKER_00: It was seven and a half when I sent you guys that two days ago.
- 55:59SPEAKER_00: It's eight and a half now.
- 56:00SPEAKER_00: Um the flow is going to Boise for what it's worth.
- 56:03SPEAKER_04: I like that you're betting the favorite and laying big points.
- 56:06SPEAKER_04: And so for that reason, honestly, I do love Maddox Madsen and I love the hurry-up offense that Memphis is gonna bring.
- 56:14SPEAKER_04: I love the over 55.
- 56:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't particularly feel like we're on the blue turf.
- 56:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:22SPEAKER_00: A fast game.
- 56:23SPEAKER_04: Fast game, a lot of score, a lot of plays, a lot of downs.
- 56:27SPEAKER_04: So over 55 sounds great.
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: I can see some short field turnovers as well.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: I'm good on over.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: I'll take the over on that.
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: Memphis ran for 335 yards against Arkansas State.
- 56:37SPEAKER_01: They put the ball on the ground, like not fumbling, but they run a lot.
- 56:41SPEAKER_01: And that concerns me for a high over.
- 56:44SPEAKER_01: You said it's 55?
- 56:46SPEAKER_01: 55 and a half is what I'm seeing.
- 56:49SPEAKER_01: It was 54 and a half earlier today.
- 56:51SPEAKER_04: That's it.
- 56:51SPEAKER_04: I said 55, but it's 54 and a half.
- 56:53SPEAKER_01: Oh god, gosh, that's tough.
- 56:55SPEAKER_00: 55 and a half.
- 56:59SPEAKER_01: I don't feel good on this one.
- 57:02SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't even double it up.
- 57:03SPEAKER_00: I would do Boise covering and over.
- 57:05SPEAKER_00: I don't feel that good about it.
- 57:06SPEAKER_00: I think there's gonna be a I think there's gonna be a lot of points.
- 57:08SPEAKER_00: I think a lot of them are gonna go to Boise.
- 57:10SPEAKER_00: Can I get consensus on Boise covering or the over?
- 57:14SPEAKER_00: Or we lay off.
- 57:15SPEAKER_00: We can lay off.
- 57:15SPEAKER_04: You like lay in eight and a half points with Boise?
- 57:20SPEAKER_01: I will like the over.
- 57:22SPEAKER_01: The more I man, the more I look at it.
- 57:24SPEAKER_01: So I was looking over here at some stats from the game, and Marcus Stokes was 12 of 15, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.
- 57:31SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 57:32SPEAKER_01: Boise State, they were in a slug fest with Oregon.
- 57:35SPEAKER_01: And I don't think Memphis can come back from getting punched in the mouth by Boise.
- 57:39SPEAKER_01: The more I look at Memphis, the more I'm more I I could support an eight and a half.
- 57:46SPEAKER_00: Boise's doesn't make mistakes.
- 57:48SPEAKER_00: They played so well in outset.
- 57:51SPEAKER_00: They were a flawless team.
- 57:52SPEAKER_00: Memphis is gonna they're gonna show some highlight plays, but they're also gonna they're gonna give away the ball once or twice too, and Boise's just not gonna do that.
- 57:59SPEAKER_00: I'm really a I think Boise is well coached, highly operational, successful team.
- 58:05SPEAKER_00: I just I think they're gonna roll.
- 58:07SPEAKER_01: They went and did that in Oregon too.
- 58:09SPEAKER_01: Boise looked good.
- 58:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I like Boise.
- 58:12SPEAKER_04: You talk me into it, Mike.
- 58:13SPEAKER_04: You're wearing your blue.
- 58:15SPEAKER_04: I can't wait to see that blue turf.
- 58:17SPEAKER_04: Loving Boise, actually.
- 58:19SPEAKER_04: They're the class.
- 58:20SPEAKER_00: Boise my boise my own.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 58:23SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 58:23SPEAKER_01: The last game available for the parlay, which is more.
- 58:27SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 58:27SPEAKER_01: It's the point spread on this one for a second.
- 58:29SPEAKER_01: The real story is Akron this week and season ticket holder Marty wins the second, who won the zips viral offensive coordinator of the game contest will help coach Joe Moorhead script the opening drive against Robert Morris.
- 58:41SPEAKER_01: The promotion earned 23 million social media views and sold out the Akron Suites for the first time ever.
- 58:49SPEAKER_01: Game is 3.30.
- 58:50SPEAKER_01: You'll probably watch it till about 345 just to see the first drive.
- 58:54SPEAKER_01: Um Akron's favored by 28 and a half.
- 58:58SPEAKER_01: But guys, Robert Morris has only given up 16 points this year in their two games.
- 59:03SPEAKER_01: Now we'll see how they do against Akron.
- 59:07SPEAKER_01: But I'm just I'm only good for the first 10 minutes.
- 59:11SPEAKER_00: I'm me too.
- 59:11SPEAKER_00: I got no interest in betting in this game, but I will absolutely be watching I exclude my television for that.
- 59:16SPEAKER_00: I'm not touching this one from a 10-foot pole from a gambling perspective, but go zips, man, and go that fan.
- 59:21SPEAKER_00: I man, I hope you get seven on that opening drive.
- 59:24SPEAKER_04: Man, first play, a naked bootleg to a tight end, a leaky tight end from the opposite side of the field.
- 59:31SPEAKER_04: Second play of the game, you gotta go deep sideline, just straight flag.
- 59:36SPEAKER_04: Just like bomb, throw it as far as you can, kid.
- 59:40SPEAKER_04: You gotta go bigger go home.
- 59:42SPEAKER_01: Fourth play is gonna be a punt.
- 59:45SPEAKER_04: No, man, it's gonna be TD.
- 59:47SPEAKER_04: T D in 45 seconds of gameplay.
- 59:50SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 59:51SPEAKER_04: Why don't you get it?
- 59:52SPEAKER_00: I got a 13-play methodical drive.
- 59:54SPEAKER_00: It's gonna end in six.
- 59:56SPEAKER_00: That's what that's what I'm pulling for.
- 59:58SPEAKER_01: They're gonna fumble a flea flicker on the second play.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_00: Please don't.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_04: Triple reverse.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_01: All right, enough.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_04: Akron.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_00: Uh it has to be successful so they do it again.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_00: That's the point.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_00: I love this promo.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_00: It's gotta go well.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_00: So I'm only good juju setting to Akron.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_04: And the guy who got selected to to do the work is not younger than 24 years old.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_04: So we are we're talking about somebody who's been a seasoned ticket holder for decades in Akron.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_04: And this this guy's my age, our age or more.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_04: And so he's gonna he's gonna have some common sense.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_04: And yeah, we might just see uh we might just see a methodical rundown that you know I hope it doesn't end in three.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_04: That would be kind of a a bummer, but let's push for the six here.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_04: Let's show a little enthusiasm once we get inside the 20 in the red zone.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_00: That's gonna wrap up.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_00: No, I was gonna say, should we maybe we the three of us do a prop that's just uh outside the parlay on what's gonna happen on that drive?
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_00: Let's keep it rolling.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_01: All right, it's homer time, everybody.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_01: Now we're gonna start with Tennessee.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: They're gonna roll into Atlanta of a 56-9 statement win while Georgia Tech is stinging from a heartbreaking blocked field goal by the Colorado Buffaloes and Deion Sanders.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_01: The balls are now laying it two, nearly a two touchdown favor on the road, 7 p.m.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_01: ABC.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_01: Tennessee by 12 and a half, as last time I checked.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_01: Did that number move too far too fast?
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_01: Can Tennessee cover that?
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_00: Tennessee big.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_00: They're gonna roll.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_00: I wish I'd backed them when they were paying the mighty paladins from Furman last week.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_00: I was impressed with Brandon Faison.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna do it again.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_00: But the bigger story, I think Georgia Tech is on major fraudwash.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_00: And I alluded to this last week.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_00: They are going to really notice how bad they hurt losing Buster Fall through the off-the-horter to Florida.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_00: Haynes King is gone.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_00: Aaron Filo, the quarterback of Florida now, is gone.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_00: I was so underwhelmed by Georgia Tech inability to run the ball.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_00: Colorado is stopping them.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_00: Tennessee, you know, they are one of those highly volatile teams with a defense that has to come together.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_00: The new Jim Knowles regime to work, and obviously a true freshman quarterback, but they're loaded everywhere else.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_00: They have NFL talent in a lot of spots.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_00: Running back, two receivers, linebacker, cornerback.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_00: I think this is gonna be ten.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_00: I know it's in Bobby Dodd.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_00: I know it's in Atlanta and the outdoor and the heat.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_00: I believe it's a night game, seven o'clock.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_00: I don't think any of that matters.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_00: I got Tennessee big.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_00: Tennessee by 21.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_04: Once again, I got Faith in Key.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_04: Michael, I'm gonna I'm gonna have to go against you once again.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_04: I got Mendoza throwing some really accurate balls.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_04: I think they're going to wake up.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_04: I think they got a little bit of embarrassment, like I keep saying last week.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_04: And they're gonna show some defense, they're gonna show some grit, they're gonna run the ball, they're gonna keep it within 13 points of Tennessee at home.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_00: How about the over?
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_00: Points.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_04: What's our over now?
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_00: 55 and a half, fifty five and a half-five and a half.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_00: Points.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so the question is Georgia Tech built to just backdoor cover, basically, to make it uh respectable in the third, fourth quarter.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think they are.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_04: I think Mendoza really does have what it takes.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_04: He's the total opposite quarterback of Haynes King.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_04: That's fine, but the whole team just got to get behind that, and he's gonna pick and surgically just pick his way down the field, throw a lot of completions.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_04: I think they can do that.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think an over looks pretty good.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_00: I think Tennessee is gonna win 60 to 10.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_00: And right the way we both hit it.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_04: And I love an over when a team like Tennessee can actually score it all by themselves.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I think that I really think we'll now we're coming in here locally.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_01: Number 25, UVA.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_01: They knocked off NC State, the game we went to and enjoyed, and now they're a 44 and a half point favorite over Norfolk State on Friday night.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_01: Kickoff is seven o'clock on the ACC network at Scott Stadium.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_01: This might one might not stay competitive past the first quarter.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there's not much to say here except that UVA only needs to keep from patting themselves on the back too hard from being in the AP 25 spot.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_04: If they can stay focused, Pribula and is it Pribula or do we say Prabula?
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_04: I say Prabula, sure.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_04: Prabula is gonna do his thing, he's gonna run for 100 in the first half, and all the starters are gonna come out, and UVA is gonna sing their songs.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we can't bet on this game anyway.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a beautiful Friday night in Charlottesville.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_00: They're gonna cruise the win, and they're all eyes on West Virginia in Charlotte next week for the Duke's Mayo game.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_00: Mike Vick will be on the sideline for Norfolk State, so okay, great, that'll be cool.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_00: But I don't see this being competitive or really much fun to watch from that standpoint either.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_00: But yeah, UVA 2-0, all eyes to Charlotte.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_00: That's all I got.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_01: Let's move it over to Darren's team, his homer team, James Franklin and Virginia Tech, debuted with a 73-3 obliteration of VMI.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_01: Currently, they would be ranked 38th and lane 18.5 point favorites against Old Dominion, who struggled to beat Norfolk State 31 to 10 this past week.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_01: They beat them two years in the row running.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_01: The game is noon, it's at Lane Stadium.
- 1:05:15SPEAKER_01: Can the monarchs make this respectable, Darren?
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_04: I can hardly explain or understand an 18 and a half point favoritism here.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_04: I feel like I've got a lot of Homerism creeping in right now, but I feel like Virginia Tech should be favored by 30.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_04: Go ahead and double that.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_04: We got a lot of recent history that the old Dominion monarchs have been troublesome for the Virginia Tech, but that is so far in the past right now, with the regime change, Virginia Tech rolls and wins by 35.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_00: So this line moved.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_00: It was like 15 and a half, moved to 17 and a half.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna chase the seam on this one.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna with Darren.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_00: We can't bet on anyway, but I would bet on them the cover.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_00: ODU's a plucky squad.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_00: They're probably the second or third odds on favor to win the sunbelt behind JMU.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_00: They're not a bad team by any means, but they're gonna miss Colton Joseph, who's now playing for Wisconsin right now.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_00: I got another coming out, pad stats, big win, James Franklin.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_00: Keep the high vibes rolling.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_00: I know the ODU goes through there, but I don't see them today.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_00: If I could bet on that, I'd be with Dare on that one.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_00: I would also take Hokies cover.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_01: Do the same thing.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_01: I would join you guys on that one.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_01: Any closing statements on Virginia Tech, Mr.
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_01: Statement?
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_04: Man, we are looking at a ACC championship contender and the Virginia Tech Hokies.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_04: They are right up there.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_04: I think we're lucky enough to be invited and pit and UVA, sure.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_00: We turned down an invite.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, did you say, Mark, are you heading to this game?
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_01: We got offered tickets to go, but we both got things going on this weekend that we weren't able to go to it.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_01: But man, that was enticing.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_01: But the wife's got to work.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_01: And we need to be home on Saturday for the big Cy Hawk Gay.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_01: The rivalry's back at Kennick Stadium.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_01: Iowa destroyed NIU 40 to nothing.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_01: And now we are hosting 730 under the lights, Kinnex Stadium.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_01: Wave to the kids.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_01: Are the Iowa Hawkeyes finally back?
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_01: Favored by two touchdowns here.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_01: Now, I don't trust Iowa yet to start continuing to score like they did against NIU.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_01: They only put up 40 when Virginia Tech put up 73.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_01: I definitely think Iowa's gonna win, but I don't know that they go over 14 on that one, especially since they haven't established a quarterback yet.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_00: This line moved down.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_00: It was 14 and a half, and now I'm seeing 13 and a half as we watch.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_00: We're watching it right now.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_00: I have the same situation.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna win.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_00: This is a rivalry game.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_00: This is a weird spot.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_00: Weird things happen in games like this.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_00: Iowa State's a pride, proud team.
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_00: They're not gonna lay down for Iowa in the which is just in this rivalry of games.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_00: Over-under is also 40 and a half, which means they're calling for a pretty low scoring game.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_00: That implies a SOTA a score of 27 to 13 to make all those points and spreads make sense, which I don't have a hard time seeing.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_00: I'm not laying two touchdowns since he doesn't have a quarterback.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_00: I so I'm out on betting Iowa to cover.
- 1:08:26SPEAKER_00: I'm in no play here.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_00: But Darren, what do you think?
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that 14 points is gonna be no problem because Iowa State's gonna score zero points in this day.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_04: I think there's a lot of a lot of false memory just creeping into these lines right now.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_04: But Iowa State for the last five or six years with Matt Campbell has been a real formidable squad.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_04: That ain't happening on Saturday.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_04: They're gonna score nothing.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_04: Iowa has got a real offense.
- 1:08:55SPEAKER_04: So those narratives of Iowa can't score and Iowa State can throw that out the window.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_04: Iowa's gonna win by 30 points.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_00: The over-under and a half.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_00: That is that is a low number.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_00: 40 and a half is getting into service academy numbers.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_00: The Army Navy game is over-under.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_00: If you're talking about a tight game, I I really don't like Lay and Iowa 13 and a half.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_00: It's a total that low.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_00: I just that that all my red flags are going off on that.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_00: Mark, you got Mark, it's your game.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_00: You got the final word.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_01: DraftKings got it at 14 still, and yeah, they it was 41 and a half earlier.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_01: It's down to 40 and a half.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_01: I'd hole off on that one.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_01: I want to bet with my head, not with my heart on this one.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_01: So I'll stick with no bet on this, and we'll see how they go establish themselves in a couple weeks.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_01: Exactly what you said.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_01: Let's go on to Louisiana Tech visiting Mike's LSU Tigers, the greatest team ever assembled.
- 1:09:53SPEAKER_01: Return to Death Valley after the 51-10 statement win over Clemson and Lane Kiven's debut.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_01: Imagine if they had pro players.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_01: Mike, tell us how much of a bloodbath is this gonna be.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_00: The line's moved up.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_00: It was 33 and a half.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_00: Now it's 35 and a half, which is actually a tough one of those tough numbers.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_00: Now you're over five touchdowns.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_00: If I'm betting anything, I'm betting LSU to cover.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_00: This I think left you're gonna be an offensive wagon all year and the market's gonna be behind him.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_00: I think Lane Kiffin has made it very clear he doesn't want to want to pull any punches.
- 1:10:22SPEAKER_00: I was I couldn't believe how aggressive he was with his backups so late in the game with when Landon Clark and Hussan Longtree win in.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna see more of that as well.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna play fast because what they want to do.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_00: Louisiana Tech is gonna offer about as much resistance as Clemson did.
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_00: 31 points.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_00: So if I'm betting anything, and over-underwind toll is 56 and a half, was what they're calling for right now.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_00: I'm betting LSU to cover with confidence.
- 1:10:47SPEAKER_04: 36 points, no sweat.
- 1:10:50SPEAKER_04: And this is the type of matchup where it's a 30-point spread at halftime.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_04: So yeah, and I don't think Louisiana Tech has any sort of backdoor capability.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_04: So cover the big number, LSU Tigers.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_04: They want to, they're pissed.
- 1:11:05SPEAKER_04: They're eight, they're sitting at eight in the AP poll.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_04: I'd be pissed too.
- 1:11:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think they will.
- 1:11:11SPEAKER_00: I legitimately think they do not have a chip on their shoulder.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_00: They will next week when they go to Ole Miss, but I think they are acting like they do right now.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_00: I think they are Hornet's nest.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna beat the brakes off of Louisiana Tech to a point that really doesn't even make sense, but it's what he went for two up 35 last weekend.
- 1:11:27SPEAKER_00: Are we all forgetting that part?
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_00: Like, why did he do that?
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_00: So I'm expecting more of the same.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_00: I got LSU easily covered.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_00: Mark, what do you think?
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_00: Are we there all together?
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_01: We're all together on that one.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_01: They're gonna come out.
- 1:11:37SPEAKER_01: Lane Kevin is out to show that he's for real.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_01: Ole Miss will be a good game, but they're gonna go roll this one.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_00: I think so too.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_00: All right, that's eight Lagos.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_00: Let's review real quick.
- 1:11:48SPEAKER_00: Oregon minus 13 and a half, first half, Oklahoma, Michigan under 43 and a half, over Arizona State, Texas AM, 15.5, Kentucky plus 10.5, hosting Alabama, Cal plus 3.5 at Syracuse, Boise State minus 8.5, hosting Memphis, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, over 55 and a half, LSU minus 35 and a half,$10 wins you unboosted$1,725 is what we're playing for this.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_00: So we will post that link in the Discord.

- 1:12:27SPEAKER_00: Anything else for the week two preview, the go to the order?
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_04: Man, let's do it.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_04: Eight legs.
- 1:12:32SPEAKER_04: I don't I feel like we disagreed a whole lot more than that, but we got eight together.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_01: Okay, whole bunch of games.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_00: Okay, we got it together.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's let's make some money.
