- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Welcome to the Almost Fais podcast. We are here today
- 0:07Speaker 2: to break down all the headlines happening in Bachelor Nation.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Ashley has read, up, studied, investigated, and is an expert
- 0:15Speaker 2: at all of these headlines, and so she joins us
- 0:17Speaker 2: today to answer any questions I may have. The first
- 0:20Speaker 2: headline is this Jen Tran I saw this actually reacts
- 0:25Speaker 2: to Bachelor franchise being in shambles because of her and
- 0:28Speaker 2: Grant Ellis. Now I want to say, Ashley, before you
- 0:31Speaker 2: break this down, that headline is hinting at something. It's
- 0:36Speaker 2: that fans are blaming Jen and Grant for the downfall
- 0:40Speaker 2: of the show, and so Jen is coming to react
- 0:42Speaker 2: to that.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly why are you blaming Jen? She had been
- 0:48Speaker 3: screwed over by a guy that they didn't vet and
- 0:52Speaker 3: he was a fraud. Honestly, so Grant, well, Grant, I
- 0:58Speaker 3: just don't think it was the greatest lead.
- 0:59Speaker 4: But anyway, people are blaming them for the fall of
- 1:03Speaker 4: the franchise.
- 1:03Speaker 3: That's just that's that's ridiculous, ridiculous, yah yah, And she
- 1:08Speaker 3: is kind of joking back by saying no, no, no,
- 1:12Speaker 3: you guys are looking at it all wrong. I was
- 1:15Speaker 3: actually such an amazing bachelorette and my relationship ended in
- 1:18Speaker 3: such success. They could simply never find anyone to replace me,
- 1:23Speaker 3: because my season will forever be ingrained in your little
- 1:26Speaker 3: brains and you're never going to get it out of
- 1:29Speaker 3: your head. Thank you say it with me, Long Live
- 1:33Speaker 3: Jen Tran. That's what she captioned it.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I mean, it's kind of funny, it's it also takes
- 1:40Speaker 2: some confidence.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Ye Hey, her season was incredibly memorable.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Oh, I think her season was great. I don't think
- 1:47Speaker 2: we can blame jan for the downfall of this show.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I think the show was on kind of a ratings
- 1:57Speaker 2: like some ratings momentum coming off a Joey's season. I
- 1:59Speaker 2: think they had every opportunity to bring this kind of
- 2:03Speaker 2: momentum in through the Golden Shows and The Bachelorette and
- 2:06Speaker 2: The Bachelor. And I do think fans reacted to the
- 2:10Speaker 2: fact that Jin had such a precast and had some
- 2:15Speaker 2: guys on there that obviously should never have been on
- 2:18Speaker 2: national television. And I think the show definitely felt the
- 2:22Speaker 2: repercussions from fans saying I'm done watching this show. If
- 2:25Speaker 2: I can't even watch it and know that these dudes
- 2:27Speaker 2: are decent dudes, and then I do I think Grant
- 2:30Speaker 2: season struggled. It struggled to find a storyline, It struggled
- 2:33Speaker 2: to find any like buy in from the audiences. It
- 2:38Speaker 2: felt disconnected, and as a result, I think all those
- 2:42Speaker 2: things kind of compiled on for the show to be
- 2:44Speaker 2: where it's at today now Ashlely, we're hearing rumors because
- 2:49Speaker 2: it's it means out there the Bachelor has not been
- 2:51Speaker 2: picked up for another season at this point, which at
- 2:54Speaker 2: this point in time usually it is, and we're hearing
- 2:56Speaker 2: rumors that Paradise's ratings will have a massive on if
- 3:01Speaker 2: The Bachelor gets picked up or not for another season.
- 3:06Speaker 2: So the waight now on Paradise is incredible, and it's
- 3:11Speaker 2: a whole new production team coming in to do it.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I guess my simple question to you is it's not simple,
- 3:18Speaker 2: but do you think Paradise will deliver?
- 3:22Speaker 3: I'm so loyal to the past group of producers that like,
- 3:26Speaker 3: I'm going to just say that they have a lot
- 3:28Speaker 3: to live up to, But I do think people are
- 3:30Speaker 3: really excited for Paradise to be back after the break year.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I said, the break year is probably in the favor
- 3:37Speaker 3: of a new production crew because people have been you know,
- 3:41Speaker 3: they just missing it, so they're eager to press play
- 3:44Speaker 3: on the first or second episode.
- 3:47Speaker 4: It'll be whether they can grasp them.
- 3:49Speaker 3: In that to continue people to continue to have people
- 3:53Speaker 3: watch it throughout.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It's going to be a big question looming over Paradise
- 3:57Speaker 2: all season. Are people watching or not? And here is
- 4:00Speaker 2: my take, They're gonna have a hard time with people
- 4:02Speaker 2: watching because a lot of these cast members fans have
- 4:05Speaker 2: never bought into.
- 4:06Speaker 4: We shall see.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Our next headline actually has to do with the state
- 4:11Speaker 3: of the franchise.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Disney TV boss talks future of Bachelor franchise, says new
- 4:16Speaker 2: leads must meet the bar of excellence.
- 4:21Speaker 4: So there's shade.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Now, Jen, I understand you being annoyed at that comment,
- 4:27Speaker 3: but I still don't think that's aimed at Jen. I
- 4:29Speaker 3: think that's aimed at Grant.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I read this headline with complete shade, like they're definitely
- 4:34Speaker 2: blaming leads for the downfall of.
- 4:37Speaker 4: The show, which isn't it on them to pick the lead?
- 4:41Speaker 2: That was my question is then whose job is to
- 4:43Speaker 2: pick the lead? Because I know the extensive process by
- 4:47Speaker 2: which this goes through. It used to kind of just
- 4:50Speaker 2: be a Mike Fleiss decision, I know, and then he
- 4:52Speaker 2: would kind of pass it off. But now I'm imagining
- 4:56Speaker 2: that it did go through a bunch of different lanes
- 4:59Speaker 2: to actually say, yeah, you can be our lead. So
- 5:03Speaker 2: I'm hoping and I'll get in trouble for this at
- 5:07Speaker 2: some point in time. Now, you and I both have
- 5:09Speaker 2: a lot of respect for the teams that put on
- 5:11Speaker 2: this show. We have a lot of admiration for the
- 5:14Speaker 2: executives who have cultivated this show for so many seasons.
- 5:18Speaker 2: At some point, though, in any leadership role, big or small,
- 5:23Speaker 2: when failure happens, you have to start looking internally too,
- 5:27Speaker 2: at yourself. You cannot just continue to blame external factors
- 5:31Speaker 2: or decision makings that somebody else did. Because ultimately, this
- 5:36Speaker 2: headline says a TV boss talks future of Bachelor franchise.
- 5:41Speaker 2: They are they have the ability to speak into this
- 5:44Speaker 2: if this is something they actually care about, and so
- 5:47Speaker 2: if anybody listens from the franchise, this might reve you
- 5:50Speaker 2: the wrong way. And I'm not telling anybody specifically, but
- 5:54Speaker 2: if you feel convicted by the statement that I just made,
- 5:57Speaker 2: maybe that's a sign that you should start looking internally
- 6:00Speaker 2: and also blaming yourself for some of the downfalls that
- 6:03Speaker 2: have existed over the last few years.
- 6:06Speaker 3: But well put okay, So this is his quote. He says,
- 6:09Speaker 3: the Bachelor universe continues to be very important to us.
- 6:12Speaker 3: The Bachelor installments are no different than any other show.
- 6:16Speaker 3: You have to have the right cast and the right
- 6:18Speaker 3: people in front of the camera who have an amazing
- 6:21Speaker 3: story to tell, but also who are willing to share
- 6:25Speaker 3: their story and reveal themselves. We're only going to roll
- 6:29Speaker 3: out these as they come together and meet the bar
- 6:32Speaker 3: of excellence that the tradition of the show has set.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Okay, so it sounds like it could take off seasons.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that is what it sounds like, because he's like, oh,
- 6:44Speaker 3: if there aren't people willing to do that, we don't
- 6:47Speaker 3: find these people, then we're only going to put it.
- 6:50Speaker 4: We're only going to put out good people, is what
- 6:52Speaker 4: they're saying.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Tyler Norris, former Bachelorette contestant and Bachelor and Paradise contestant,
- 7:08Speaker 2: is engaged to his fiancee Alyssa.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Yes congratulations you q on Instagram where he announced he said, well, well,
- 7:15Speaker 3: I've been dreaming of this day since I first met you.
- 7:18Speaker 3: You're everything I could have asked for and more. How
- 7:21Speaker 3: to get so lucky to meet you still doesn't make
- 7:24Speaker 3: sense to me. I love you more than I can
- 7:25Speaker 3: explain less. And now let's do this damn thing future,
- 7:30Speaker 3: Missus Norris, love your fiance.
- 7:33Speaker 2: He wasn't on BECA season?
- 7:35Speaker 4: Was he? He was on? He was on Tues Seasons
- 7:39Speaker 4: of Paradise. He was on. No, he was definitely not
- 7:44Speaker 4: on BECA season. He was on.
- 7:48Speaker 2: He's quoting a bachelorette during his.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Let's see this damn thing?
- 7:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Ugh, he wasn't the Bachelor. Okay, the Bachelor along
- 7:59Speaker 2: Luke pell mayor is Haley James and western formal wedding
- 8:02Speaker 2: at his family's Texas ranch.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Yes, you and I were friends with Luke back at
- 8:09Speaker 3: Bachelor Winter Games.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Congrats.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Yes, we're very happy for him. He and Haley have
- 8:13Speaker 3: been together for quite some time and they got married
- 8:16Speaker 3: over this past weekend. It was on his family's ranch
- 8:19Speaker 3: that we saw back when he was on Jojo season.
- 8:23Speaker 3: They had one hundred and seventy guests. They had street
- 8:25Speaker 3: tacos and barbecue and roast chicken and waffles, and they
- 8:30Speaker 3: had what a burger as a late night stack and
- 8:32Speaker 3: instead of one and kick, they had peach cobbler and
- 8:35Speaker 3: banana pudding. They are looking forward to starting a family together.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Congrats Luke, Congratulations to Haley. Congratulations also to Tyler Norris
- 8:47Speaker 2: and his fiancee Alyssa. Love is in the air in
- 8:50Speaker 2: Bachelor Nation and the final headline is this where people
- 8:54Speaker 2: are questioning if love still is in the air. Juliana
- 8:57Speaker 2: and Grant discuss breakup rumors that fans have been wondering
- 9:03Speaker 2: about and if they're still going to Italy.
- 9:06Speaker 3: So they did a Q and A on their Instagram stories.
- 9:09Speaker 3: We saw them get proposed just two months ago, and
- 9:13Speaker 3: right now they're talking about, you know, they're a dressing
- 9:17Speaker 3: the rumors, and Grant says, we have just been getting
- 9:20Speaker 3: ready for the move and everything, but we are together.
- 9:23Speaker 3: They're moving in together in Boston, or at least that
- 9:26Speaker 3: was the plan when they announced their relationship two months ago,
- 9:30Speaker 3: and he said that when the move happens, we're about
- 9:33Speaker 3: to be everywhere. Juliana also responded to the rumors, saying
- 9:36Speaker 3: it was just a bad rumor, lol, and she hung
- 9:39Speaker 3: up her ring in the video with Grant in the background,
- 9:43Speaker 3: and she said that they have booked flights to Italy
- 9:46Speaker 3: for the trip that the show gets.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I'm sweet. We hope they're still together.
- 9:50Speaker 3: We're glad, but you know what, can I just be
- 9:52Speaker 3: a little bit of a drama queen right now, a
- 9:54Speaker 3: little bit of a gossip queen. Always it seems like
- 10:00Speaker 3: there might be some trouble in paradise. I mean, this
- 10:03Speaker 3: is not like the most definitive sounding response to these rumors.
- 10:08Speaker 2: We've had a lot of bachelor and bachelorette couples tell
- 10:11Speaker 2: us they're doing great, uh, when in fact they're not.
- 10:15Speaker 2: So it's I'm always a little hesitant until like the
- 10:18Speaker 2: day they get married that you know there is trouble
- 10:22Speaker 2: in paradise. I just don't. I don't know what the
- 10:24Speaker 2: two of them.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Then it's the way that he worded this, okay, because
- 10:29Speaker 3: I could break this down instead of saying we are together,
- 10:34Speaker 3: we're excited to move in together in our new apartment
- 10:37Speaker 3: in Boston in so and so months or like next
- 10:39Speaker 3: month or next week or whatever. Instead he started by responding,
- 10:43Speaker 3: we have just I also feel like the word just
- 10:46Speaker 3: is like, Okay, we have just been getting ready for
- 10:50Speaker 3: the move and everything, what's and everything? But we are together,
- 10:56Speaker 3: but we are together, just the way that that's worded,
- 10:59Speaker 3: is not worded with.
- 11:00Speaker 4: A sense of confidence or clarity. No details.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll watch, we'll pay attention. So much happening in
- 11:09Speaker 2: Bachelor Nation, so much love in the air. Until next time.
- 11:13Speaker 3: I've been, Ben, I've been, Ashley Grant and Juliana are
- 11:16Speaker 3: probably never coming on our podcast.
- 11:18Speaker 4: See you next time. Bye.
