- 0:00Speaker 1: This podcast is recorded on gadigal Land Always was, always

- 0:12Speaker 2: Hey jicks, I'm out and this is Two Road Chicks,
- 0:14Speaker 2: the show that shares life lessons and tips to help
- 0:17Speaker 2: make you rich in life. And we've decided to do
- 0:20Speaker 2: a little bit of a fun, flirty episode today. We
- 0:24Speaker 2: are going to be chatting the propaganda I Am falling for.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I'm sure most of you would have seen this trend
- 0:31Speaker 2: online which started as propaganda I'm Not falling for, which
- 0:34Speaker 2: we did as a segment recently.
- 0:36Speaker 3: But we're going to tell you the things.
- 0:38Speaker 2: We are falling for that we're like, sign me up, baby,
- 0:42Speaker 2: I'm on the board.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah right, I'm on the board.
- 0:45Speaker 4: Bitch, Yeah I'm down.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:47Speaker 4: Brainwash me.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Literally, I don't actually want a single original thought of
- 0:51Speaker 2: my own. So before we get into this, sour, I
- 0:55Speaker 2: need to know what's.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Your obsession of the week?
- 1:00Speaker 5: Know, well, my obsession of the week is something that
- 1:02Speaker 5: I know is also your obsession of the week. And
- 1:05Speaker 5: I guess should we say it three two one three
- 1:07Speaker 5: two one?
- 1:09Speaker 3: Never mind it.
- 1:11Speaker 4: We weren't anyway, is.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Something that I know that we both are obsessed with,
- 1:15Speaker 5: and it's the new TV show over compensating.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Then out of fucking head.
- 1:21Speaker 5: It's on Prime video. It's like a coming of age
- 1:24Speaker 5: comedy TV series. It was created by Benny Drama. He
- 1:28Speaker 5: probably recognized from TikTok. He is hilarious, but it's such
- 1:33Speaker 5: a good show.
- 1:34Speaker 4: It's very nostalgic.
- 1:35Speaker 5: It has like ninety five percent on Rotten Tomatoes, so
- 1:38Speaker 5: it deserves that.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Also, he stars in it.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Yeah, he's the main character.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Yeah, and I think it's loosely based on his life
- 1:45Speaker 5: and it's amazing.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Ten out of ten.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Definitely watch it one hundred percent. We like, literally our
- 1:51Speaker 2: jaws were dropping. We watched it all in one day
- 1:53Speaker 2: and when it finished, we were like.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Screaming, no, no, no, no, no, Like we're like, no,
- 1:58Speaker 3: I need season two now, please immediately.
- 2:02Speaker 4: We needed it yesterday.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I have never do you know what I loved about
- 2:06Speaker 2: it as well is that so many of the actors
- 2:08Speaker 2: in it were people that I had never seen before.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I think it was only one that I had seen before.
- 2:12Speaker 2: He was like the toxic hot guy that I was like.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And also came over from Charlie xc Oh. Yes, she's
- 2:19Speaker 2: great in it. It's just fucking dumb and stupid, and
- 2:22Speaker 2: I love it, yeah, but so smart and also heartwarming.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:26Speaker 2: All, Okay, My obsession of the week is I don't
- 2:32Speaker 2: know if you would have seen this online, but Steve
- 2:35Speaker 2: Madden on The Cutting Room Floor podcast. No, Oh my gosh,
- 2:41Speaker 2: So Steve Madden, the shoe designer, right, he went on
- 2:44Speaker 2: this podcast, The Cutting Room Floor, And I haven't listened
- 2:46Speaker 2: to the full episode. It's just the clips that I've
- 2:48Speaker 2: seen because I went to go listen to it and
- 2:50Speaker 2: it's I think it's on like Patreon or paywall, and
- 2:52Speaker 2: I honestly couldn't figure out.
- 2:53Speaker 3: How to do it on Spotify. But I'm absolutely going
- 2:56Speaker 3: to be listening to the full thing.
- 2:57Speaker 2: And the podcast host, she is literally incredible. She does
- 3:03Speaker 2: not hold back in the way that the clip that
- 3:07Speaker 2: I saw was discussing basically his like knockoffs or his
- 3:13Speaker 2: inspiration of designer shoes, and she pulls up photos of
- 3:18Speaker 2: his shoes and quizes him on the designer that has
- 3:24Speaker 2: been the inspiration I say in quotes or like that
- 3:27Speaker 2: they've dooped or knocked off or whatever, and he gets
- 3:31Speaker 2: every single wine.
- 3:32Speaker 3: But I love it. He's just like this big man.
- 3:35Speaker 2: That's been like, oh, I love them, like it's just
- 3:39Speaker 2: icon behavior.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I don't really.
- 3:40Speaker 4: I feel like, no shame, literally.
- 3:42Speaker 3: No shame.
- 3:43Speaker 2: This is like my first interaction I've ever seen of
- 3:45Speaker 2: Steve Madden on the internet. Just yeah, that sniffert. I
- 3:49Speaker 2: was like, I'm obsessed. Yeah, I'm obsessed. And then the
- 3:52Speaker 2: other obsession I have of the week is that men
- 3:55Speaker 2: who kiss their partners before leaving for work live an
- 3:58Speaker 2: average of five years longer than men who don't. So
- 4:03Speaker 2: this is design to send this to your boyfriend to
- 4:06Speaker 2: make sure you get a forehead kiss before he leaves
- 4:08Speaker 2: for work every day, or before you leave for work
- 4:10Speaker 2: every day.
- 4:11Speaker 5: If you're not already getting one, dump here, dump hiven
- 4:14Speaker 5: find one will.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Literally when I said this to my partner, he was like,
- 4:20Speaker 2: so I'm going to live forever And I was like, yeah, bitch,
- 4:22Speaker 2: I'm immortal.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 2: So the psychological study mentions that a nineteen eighties study
- 4:28Speaker 2: observed similar findings, with men who kiss their wives before
- 4:32Speaker 2: work living an average of five years longer than those
- 4:34Speaker 2: who didn't. Kissing has always been shown to release hormones
- 4:38Speaker 2: like oxytocin and dopamine, which improve mood and reduce the stress.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Hormone cortisole, which can negatively impact health. When chronically elevated,
- 4:47Speaker 2: regular kissing may foster a positive attitude and a sense
- 4:50Speaker 2: of connection, leading to a better mental.
- 4:52Speaker 3: And physical health. This is propaganda I'm falling for.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Yeah, more kissing, Honestly, more.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Kissing, more making out, more head kisses, all of it.
- 5:03Speaker 3: So send this, Send this to him or them or whatever. Yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 3: your lover a. Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Shall we get into our propaganda that we are, propaganda
- 5:11Speaker 2: that we are falling for.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Yes, My first piece of propaganda that I am falling
- 5:20Speaker 5: for is the internet's boyfriend.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Oh okay, who's our boyfriend at the moment.
- 5:26Speaker 5: I personally love a good celebrity crush, and I doesn't.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Some people don't.
- 5:33Speaker 5: Some people like aren't really into it. I remember I
- 5:36Speaker 5: was like, which is so fine, Which is so fine?
- 5:39Speaker 4: But ever since I was like.
- 5:40Speaker 5: A little kid, I've always had like a new celebrity crush.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I cried when I watched High School Musical two because
- 5:48Speaker 2: I had the realization that Zac Efron didn't know who
- 5:50Speaker 2: I was.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Honestly, it's a true heartbreak.
- 5:54Speaker 5: But I absolutely love this trend and that we all
- 5:58Speaker 5: have a new Internet boyfriend pretty much every single month.
- 6:01Speaker 5: So let's run through some of our favorite Internet boyfriends Okay,
- 6:06Speaker 5: Adam Brady yep, Pedro.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Pascal, Oh, yeah, that one, that one.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Love him, Paul Mescal Oh yes, Henry Cappell.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Don't know, Smash Sorry, that's actually a bit too much.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Sorry, Harry Styles. You know he's all right. You wouldn't
- 6:26Speaker 3: shut the door in his face?
- 6:27Speaker 4: Well yet, no, Michael B.
- 6:30Speaker 5: Jordan, Oh yeah, especially like recently, I feel like, oh,
- 6:36Speaker 5: I've been there.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I've been there since he was in the movie with
- 6:40Speaker 2: Zach Effron.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Zach Efron. Yeah, I love that.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Miles Taylor is another one I reckon, yep.
- 6:46Speaker 5: And then last but certainly not least, Timothy Shallow May.
- 6:51Speaker 5: I think it's interesting though, because I do feel like
- 6:54Speaker 5: the Internet's boyfriend is different to maybe like the hottest
- 7:01Speaker 5: man of the year kind of vibe, because I feel
- 7:05Speaker 5: like maybe the Internet's boyfriend is typically like maybe a
- 7:09Speaker 5: little bit more nerdy, seems like a little bit more approachable, because.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I was going to say, like, I dress Elba, but
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'm like, but he's amazing.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel like there's a difference between like the
- 7:20Speaker 5: Internet's boyfriend and then a sex icon, yeah, a man.
- 7:28Speaker 4: But I do think there's.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Potential to have some crossover because I do think that
- 7:32Speaker 5: Pedro does kind of sit into that.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah no, because he's yeah being like daddy's the
- 7:37Speaker 3: state of mind. Yeah, And I.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Love all those clips of him being asked, like if
- 7:42Speaker 5: he looks at the fan edits and he's so into it.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Yeah, like he doesn't deny that he is the Internet's boyfriend.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Love that.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Yeah, what's your first one?
- 7:51Speaker 2: Okay, my first propaganda that I am falling for is
- 7:54Speaker 2: girl Math. Oh yeah, but let me explain, because girl
- 7:58Speaker 2: Math isn't dumb. It's rebranding financial savvy and like moving
- 8:04Speaker 2: away from this sexist narrative that women shop but men buy.
- 8:09Speaker 2: And when I'm saying I subscribe and I believe in
- 8:13Speaker 2: this propaganda, I'm not talking about like the playful rhetoric
- 8:18Speaker 2: that's like if I return it then I made money
- 8:21Speaker 2: or like that's just lighthearted giggles, you know. But I
- 8:24Speaker 2: think what girl Math has done is put more of
- 8:27Speaker 2: a light on value and getting more bang for your buck.
- 8:32Speaker 2: And it's not about impulse, so it focuses on you know,
- 8:36Speaker 2: it's put a massive spotlight on you know, cost per wear,
- 8:39Speaker 2: shopping sales and using discounts, making sustainable and thoughtful purchases
- 8:44Speaker 2: and sticking to budgets, and it just kind of challenges
- 8:47Speaker 2: that notion that like women are just here like frivolously
- 8:51Speaker 2: buying shit.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Yeah you know what I mean, we don't know what
- 8:54Speaker 4: to do with our money. Yeah, that way to shopaholics.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah, And like, yes, the term has been used for
- 9:00Speaker 2: jokes and giggles and whatever, but it's also used to
- 9:05Speaker 2: highlight when we're being like, yes, I'm gonna buy this,
- 9:07Speaker 2: because even though this pair of jeans is like two
- 9:09Speaker 2: hundred dollars, if I wear it twenty times, you do
- 9:12Speaker 2: the math, and I'm like.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm subscribing to that. I'm a part of that.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I love that propaganda, absolutely love it.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Yeah fully.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 5: And also even in its silly elements, I also you know,
- 9:26Speaker 5: I like consuming the content that's just like silly and fun.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Yeah as well.
- 9:30Speaker 2: But I think it has given us a word that
- 9:33Speaker 2: is a bit sexier to talk.
- 9:35Speaker 3: About getting more bang for your buck.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, because like, especially coming into you know, our job,
- 9:41Speaker 2: it's kind of hard to communicate like saving money and
- 9:46Speaker 2: finances in a fun way.
- 9:49Speaker 3: So being like this is.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Why this is a good deal, Because if you subtract
- 9:53Speaker 2: twenty dot.
- 9:54Speaker 3: People like I'm board scroll.
- 9:55Speaker 2: But if you're like, no, the girl mapth on this
- 9:57Speaker 2: is really good. People like I'm listening tell mimo. Yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 2: and so yeah, I love it. I'm not glorifying the
- 10:04Speaker 2: side that's like, oh, if I use after pay it's free.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah that's no, Like we're not glorifying debt, but yeah, it's.
- 10:12Speaker 3: More the highlight.
- 10:13Speaker 2: It's given to actually focusing on the value and cost
- 10:17Speaker 2: and getting the most bang for your bart.
- 10:19Speaker 3: And I'm like, yeah, our fucking yep.
- 10:21Speaker 5: My next propaganda that I'm falling for is Type A
- 10:25Speaker 5: and Type B dynamics.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Oh yes, I've also seen Type C.
- 10:29Speaker 5: What's oh yes, yes, yes, okay, yeah, Type C.
- 10:34Speaker 4: I like because while I do really.
- 10:37Speaker 5: Like this trend and I do think it's funny and
- 10:40Speaker 5: also relatable, I do think that sometimes people could be
- 10:43Speaker 5: a Type C because sometimes you are a bit of
- 10:46Speaker 5: the best.
- 10:46Speaker 4: Of both worlds, you know what I mean.
- 10:48Speaker 5: But I also love the trend that's like behind every
- 10:53Speaker 5: anxious woman who is overthinking everything is their boyfriend who
- 10:58Speaker 5: has never worried about anything a single day in his life,
- 11:01Speaker 5: and like or friends on a trip, and it's like
- 11:04Speaker 5: the type A friend and they're the one who's like,
- 11:06Speaker 5: I've booked this, I've made reservations for blah blah, this
- 11:09Speaker 5: is the activity we're doing. And then the other friend
- 11:11Speaker 5: who's like the type B friend who's like.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Where are we going?
- 11:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know where my passport is, like, and
- 11:16Speaker 5: it's just like living off of vibes.
- 11:19Speaker 2: You know what I've seen, though I've seen it reversed
- 11:21Speaker 2: as well, where it's like, you know, the couple and
- 11:24Speaker 2: it's like the type beavers type A, and every time
- 11:25Speaker 2: I scroll past, I expect the girl to be the
- 11:27Speaker 2: type A because like, statistically women carrying more mental load
- 11:31Speaker 2: and organization and shit like that.
- 11:32Speaker 6: Yeah that when it's the guy, I'm like where and
- 11:35Speaker 6: how like I am always like you are living the
- 11:39Speaker 6: dream like but then again, I would never let a
- 11:42Speaker 6: man control the shit that I do, but I'd be like, hmm,
- 11:44Speaker 6: your schedule sucks, I'm doing it.
- 11:46Speaker 3: But like that to me is I'm like whoo yeah. Yeah.
- 11:49Speaker 5: Another part of this trend that I have saying that
- 11:52Speaker 5: I feel like I relate more to is like the
- 11:55Speaker 5: anxious girlfriend and the calm boyfriend. And I do think
- 11:59Speaker 5: that that is a dynamic that we see whether it's
- 12:02Speaker 5: just in a partnership, regardless of gender and regardless of
- 12:05Speaker 5: who sits under what. But I do think the opposites
- 12:08Speaker 5: do attract sometimes with these dynamics, and it can make
- 12:11Speaker 5: for really good relationships, whether that is in romantic or
- 12:15Speaker 5: in friendships as well. So if you're not familiar with
- 12:19Speaker 5: what type A and type B is, I'll give like
- 12:21Speaker 5: a quick rundown. So Type A is the type of
- 12:24Speaker 5: person who is like competitive, ambitious, time conscious, maybe a
- 12:28Speaker 5: little bit impatient, often experiencing stress and a bit of
- 12:33Speaker 5: anxiety because they love their schedule and they love to
- 12:36Speaker 5: be in control of the situation. But they're often hard
- 12:39Speaker 5: working and driven towards achieving their goals. Then, on the
- 12:42Speaker 5: other hand, Type B is more relaxed, patient, flexible, easy going,
- 12:49Speaker 5: maybe less prone to stress. And then there's type C,
- 12:53Speaker 5: which I believe is the sort of person who may
- 12:56Speaker 5: show habits of type B but then potentially has the
- 13:01Speaker 5: stress of type A. So some examples that I've seen
- 13:06Speaker 5: is I'm a Type C girl. I'll spend hundreds on clothes,
- 13:09Speaker 5: but they never wear them. I can wake up at six,
- 13:12Speaker 5: but I can also sleep until noon. I procrastinate everything,
- 13:16Speaker 5: but we'll get it done two minutes before it's due.
- 13:19Speaker 5: My room can be immaculate, but my drawers and closet
- 13:22Speaker 5: are an absolute wreck. I get ready five hours before,
- 13:25Speaker 5: but I'm still late, Or I get ready thirty minutes
- 13:28Speaker 5: before and I'll be on time. So they're kind of like,
- 13:32Speaker 5: am I the mix of both. But I also think that,
- 13:36Speaker 5: like with these sorts.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Of labels, it's also just you know whatever.
- 13:40Speaker 5: Yeah, And I'll get into this a little bit more
- 13:42Speaker 5: later with one of the other propagandas I want to
- 13:45Speaker 5: talk about, But I do think it's one of those
- 13:46Speaker 5: exact I know that you can kind.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Of like pick and choose between.
- 13:52Speaker 5: But the reason why I do subscribe to this propaganda
- 13:55Speaker 5: and I personally like it, especially for like the anxious
- 13:59Speaker 5: skins early calm boyfriend ye doing at me. So there
- 14:04Speaker 5: are many benefits to maintaining a balance in relationships between
- 14:09Speaker 5: these two types of people. So Type A tends to
- 14:14Speaker 5: go go go, which can lead to burnout, and two
- 14:17Speaker 5: type as can feed off each other in unhealthy ways
- 14:20Speaker 5: because there's no Type B like pulling back and being like,
- 14:23Speaker 5: let's maybe like not do this, like to go with
- 14:26Speaker 5: the flow.
- 14:27Speaker 4: It's kind of like two type as being.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Like, yeah, that's optimize every single hour.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Yeah exactly.
- 14:32Speaker 5: But then on the other hand, Type A can encourage
- 14:35Speaker 5: and motivate Type B who may be a little bit
- 14:37Speaker 5: more relaxed and not much so I think that they
- 14:41Speaker 5: can bring out the best and each I agree. Yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 5: you kind of briefly touched on it as well, And
- 14:45Speaker 5: I do want to say that the part of this
- 14:47Speaker 5: like propaganda that I don't agree with is that it
- 14:50Speaker 5: is the woman who is always Type A and having
- 14:52Speaker 5: to carry all of the emotional labor and load, and
- 14:56Speaker 5: then the man who's just like like and doesn't know
- 14:59Speaker 5: like their own mum's birthday.
- 15:00Speaker 2: And I also think with these things, I don't know,
- 15:03Speaker 2: and I know you would agree with this as well,
- 15:05Speaker 2: but like people just get really kind of wrapped up
- 15:08Speaker 2: and being sometimes a label that they then kind of
- 15:12Speaker 2: attribute their entire personality to it good and bad.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 2: That like sometimes when people are just being an asshole,
- 15:19Speaker 2: they're like, sorry, that's just me being like so Type
- 15:21Speaker 2: A exactly. I'm like, actually you're being a bitch, Jessica,
- 15:24Speaker 2: Like yeah, like it's just or people being like when
- 15:29Speaker 2: people fucking rude, And we'll probably talk about this later.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Being like, ah, sorry, that's just me being as Sagittarius.
- 15:35Speaker 3: No Jessica bitch again.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Okay, my next one is actually a propaganda I am
- 15:44Speaker 2: falling for that I'm stealing from someone else who we've
- 15:47Speaker 2: actually already discussed this episode, and as Charlie xx and
- 15:51Speaker 2: in her list, which I was like, oh, taking that
- 15:54Speaker 2: and peppering it into my life, was not being obsessed
- 15:57Speaker 2: with yourself all the time?
- 16:00Speaker 3: That I was like, fuck yeah, I like that.
- 16:04Speaker 2: There is such a strong movement of self love and
- 16:08Speaker 2: body positivity and embracing self care and identity and et cetera,
- 16:14Speaker 2: et cetera. Put those words in a posaurus, right, that
- 16:17Speaker 2: it also becomes a little bit of toxic positivity that sometimes,
- 16:22Speaker 2: you know, allowed to just like feel a little bit
- 16:23Speaker 2: shit about yourself, Like you're not going to be obsessed
- 16:25Speaker 2: with yourself all the time. And then whenever I'm not
- 16:28Speaker 2: in those moments where I'm not obsessed with myself, right,
- 16:31Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, I'm a fraud. I'm a fraud telling
- 16:34Speaker 2: people to love themselves and I don't even love myself.
- 16:37Speaker 3: But that's just normal and natural, and half the time
- 16:40Speaker 3: it's ainy alluvial phase. Let's be honest.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think that is a good reminder that, yeah,
- 16:46Speaker 2: the way that you feel about yourself, about your work,
- 16:49Speaker 2: about your relationships, friendships, whatever, it's not linear, like it
- 16:53Speaker 2: is a bit of a rollercoaster.
- 16:55Speaker 3: And I just I liked that because sometimes I actually
- 16:59Speaker 3: I think this is a bit roue to say.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Sometimes I just want to talk shit about myself and
- 17:04Speaker 2: not have someone being like, no, you're beautiful, and like, listen, Jessica,
- 17:08Speaker 2: I fucking have seventeen pimples on my face, my period hurts,
- 17:13Speaker 2: my hair's oily, and I haven't fake tanned, and also
- 17:15Speaker 2: my ex mes itchy. Like just just let me say
- 17:19Speaker 2: that I feel ugly and I'll get over it.
- 17:22Speaker 3: It's not gonna be forever.
- 17:24Speaker 2: But sometimes I just want to talk shit about myself
- 17:27Speaker 2: without someone being like no, Like we should be able.
- 17:30Speaker 5: To have, you know, those down days you do a
- 17:34Speaker 5: little bit negatively, feel like a.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Bit neutral, like you don't have to like sure, I
- 17:39Speaker 2: love feeling like I could kick a door if its
- 17:41Speaker 2: hinges and like gas myself up. And I love my
- 17:44Speaker 2: like god complex flare ups like that's a vibe. I
- 17:47Speaker 2: love when that happens, right, But to expect that all
- 17:50Speaker 2: the time is just exhausting.
- 17:52Speaker 3: And also you're gonna fail at that like all the time.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Yeah, So yeah, balance balance baby.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Yeah, and don't feel bad if you do have those
- 18:01Speaker 5: days when you're not feeling like you're biggest fan.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Yeah, or if you're just neutral. Yeah you know.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Okay.
- 18:07Speaker 5: My next propaganda that I am falling for, it's a
- 18:11Speaker 5: quick one. The full face of makeup and dressing like
- 18:15Speaker 5: Adam Sandler.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Combo.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Oh oh, I've seen this trend. I've seen this trend,
- 18:20Speaker 3: and it's like, do I look like a boy popa?
- 18:22Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 18:23Speaker 5: I fucking love that. I think that is the ultimate combo.
- 18:27Speaker 5: I would rather have a full face of makeup on
- 18:30Speaker 5: and my hair done and then dress really comfortably. If
- 18:32Speaker 5: I have to pick one of the two.
- 18:34Speaker 2: You're talking to a bisexual icon, I absolutely self climb
- 18:39Speaker 2: yeah to me just previously saying don't be obsessed with yourself.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Five minutes later, I'm.
- 18:44Speaker 2: A bisexual icon. I feel like for our live show
- 18:50Speaker 2: tour later this year, we should do themed nights and
- 18:54Speaker 2: one of the theme yeah, and one of the theme
- 18:57Speaker 2: nights should be dressed like Adam Sandler full face of makeup.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Yes, I'm everyone comes when.
- 19:03Speaker 4: You dressed like that too.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's so cute.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I love that.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Yeah done.
- 19:07Speaker 2: My next one is PROPAGANDAA am falling for intuition whispers
- 19:12Speaker 2: anxiety screams. So if a thought feels frantic, fear driven,
- 19:18Speaker 2: and pushy, it's probably your anxiety. If it feels quite clear, steady,
- 19:24Speaker 2: it's likely your intuition. And the inability to tell the
- 19:29Speaker 2: difference between these things can often be what causes us
- 19:33Speaker 2: to make the wrong decisions or leads us down a
- 19:37Speaker 2: path that maybe isn't necessarily the best one for us
- 19:39Speaker 2: out of a place that's not necessarily looking out for
- 19:42Speaker 2: what's best for you, but it's coming from a place
- 19:44Speaker 2: of fight or flight, right, and learning to tell the
- 19:47Speaker 2: difference is a skill, but brings you to more of
- 19:49Speaker 2: a place of clarity that I think anxiety does serve
- 19:54Speaker 2: a purpose.
- 19:55Speaker 3: However, Now, the.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Things that can trigger it are often not life threatening, right, Yeah,
- 20:01Speaker 2: Like and I say often because asterisks. Right, if you're
- 20:05Speaker 2: in a woods and there's a bear, shiel or whatever
- 20:07Speaker 2: it is you're sending an email, Yeah, that's that's not
- 20:11Speaker 2: necessarily what it means. And like examples, I pulled some
- 20:14Speaker 2: examples together to kind of make this a little bit clearer. So,
- 20:17Speaker 2: for example, the situation is you're dating someone new and
- 20:20Speaker 2: they haven't texted you back.
- 20:21Speaker 3: For a few hours.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Anxiety screams they're losing interest, they no longer want to
- 20:26Speaker 2: date you, they found someone new. Should you double text
- 20:30Speaker 2: You're never going to find someone like quick, double down,
- 20:33Speaker 2: like reach out now, whereas your intuition would whisper, they're
- 20:36Speaker 2: probably busy. They'll get back to you when they can.
- 20:39Speaker 2: If it's not meant to be, then it won't be right.
- 20:42Speaker 2: That's the difference there. Another situation would be your debating
- 20:45Speaker 2: buying something a little bit more expensive. Maybe it's a laptop,
- 20:48Speaker 2: a design, a handbag, whatever you want.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Anxiety would scream if you don't buy this now, like,
- 20:53Speaker 3: you'll miss out.
- 20:55Speaker 2: What if it sells out, what if you regret not
- 20:59Speaker 2: treating yourself, And intuition would whisper, this isn't the right time.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Maybe let's sit on it for twenty four hours. I'll
- 21:06Speaker 2: wait one week and see if I still want it,
- 21:08Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, I'm trying to kind of embody that
- 21:11Speaker 2: a bit more of being like, is it my intuition
- 21:13Speaker 2: or my anxiety talking right now?
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yeah? Is that fucking bitch? Yeah, Jessica, and her name
- 21:21Speaker 3: is just a gap.
- 21:24Speaker 2: No.
- 21:24Speaker 5: I love that, and I do think that when you
- 21:27Speaker 5: do sit down and think about it, it's you know,
- 21:30Speaker 5: the difference between the anxiety and the intuition propaganda.
- 21:34Speaker 4: I'm falling for zodiacs.
- 21:37Speaker 5: All right, hit me, little WITCHI shit, So I tell
- 21:40Speaker 5: myself that I.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Don't believe in zodiac science. Just silly. It's just fun.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Ha ha, It's just something fun to say.
- 21:48Speaker 5: And yet and yet whenever I ask somebody what their
- 21:52Speaker 5: staff sign is, nine out of ten times their characteristics
- 21:57Speaker 5: line up with that.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Am I fucking with a plus zbo? Probably?
- 22:01Speaker 2: Probably?
- 22:02Speaker 3: But you know what she's always said, I fuck with
- 22:04Speaker 3: the place ebo.
- 22:05Speaker 4: That's right. A lot of people feel this way.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just fun.
- 22:10Speaker 4: It is just fun.
- 22:12Speaker 5: And apparently this is explained by something called the Barnum effect.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's in like PJ. Barnum or whatever. The
- 22:20Speaker 3: circus guy's name is, yeah, Hugh Jacksman.
- 22:22Speaker 2: But we just swing from Machine de Leer and seeing
- 22:26Speaker 2: the soundtrack to the Greatest Showman who.
- 22:28Speaker 5: I believe so because because it was based on like
- 22:31Speaker 5: a magician who can convince people that what they're saying
- 22:35Speaker 5: is true, I'm pretty sure, So whether or not that's influenced,
- 22:37Speaker 5: we can look into it. The Barnum effect is a
- 22:39Speaker 5: cognitive bias where individuals believe that vague and general descriptions
- 22:44Speaker 5: apply specifically to them. So this could include zodiac science,
- 22:50Speaker 5: psychic readings, motivational quotes and speakers, memes, and also marketing
- 22:57Speaker 5: and advertising. And the cause of the Barnum effect is
- 22:59Speaker 5: that when we're isolated and disconnected as human beings, we
- 23:03Speaker 5: don't thrive. We are a communal beast, like that's just
- 23:07Speaker 5: how we've always been. So, according to doctor Edward Ratouche,
- 23:11Speaker 5: humans are biologically designed to seek out connections with each
- 23:14Speaker 5: other and the world around us. So that's why I
- 23:16Speaker 5: fuck with the propaganda of zodiacs just trying to connect
- 23:19Speaker 5: to you, man.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Yeah, fuck, I like it. I think they're fine.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I love looking at the memes, which are always accurate.
- 23:27Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying.
- 23:29Speaker 5: And when every time I check like a meme page,
- 23:31Speaker 5: a zodiac meme page, I always check mine and I
- 23:33Speaker 5: check Alex's too, and they're always so spot on.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Do you know what I wonder? Though?
- 23:37Speaker 2: And I'm sure there'd be studies on this, and if
- 23:40Speaker 2: they haven't, then hit me up. But when you understand
- 23:45Speaker 2: a label or the categories under that label, do you
- 23:49Speaker 2: grow into that label? So, for example, but where by
- 23:52Speaker 2: being young and hearing that, you know, an ares is
- 23:55Speaker 2: always really spicy and outgoing and blah blah blah blah blah,
- 24:00Speaker 2: if I just grown towards that or is that me?
- 24:03Speaker 3: They did the question to e Mass to ask us
- 24:06Speaker 3: said the questions. Yeah.
- 24:07Speaker 5: The weird thing is that when I was little and
- 24:09Speaker 5: I heard about Pisces, I just thought it was like
- 24:13Speaker 5: creative and likes like art and music.
- 24:16Speaker 4: That was kind of all I understood about it.
- 24:18Speaker 5: And then as I got into my twenties and probably
- 24:20Speaker 5: saw more of the memes and like looked into it more,
- 24:23Speaker 5: I was like, what, there's actually a lot of things
- 24:26Speaker 5: that a line that I had no idea had anything
- 24:28Speaker 5: to do with the zodiac sign until I was in
- 24:30Speaker 5: my twenties and I already had grown into the person
- 24:32Speaker 5: that I was.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Probably a coincidence, still fun, Yeah.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Okay, next one, my next propaganda, I am make up first,
- 24:41Speaker 2: hair second.
- 24:42Speaker 3: If you do it the other way around, that's weird.
- 24:45Speaker 5: Yeah, make up first, hair second, outfit last.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Yes, and if you do a different do a different order.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I'd love to hear why, because here's here's my breakdown. Right,
- 24:56Speaker 2: to do your makeup, it's got to be off your
- 24:58Speaker 2: face because you've got to get into the roots and
- 25:00Speaker 2: all that stuff. Especially if you've got really light hair,
- 25:04Speaker 2: you've got to be able to clean the makeup off
- 25:06Speaker 2: that gets on your hair. So if you do your
- 25:08Speaker 2: hair and it's done, then you've got to like wet
- 25:10Speaker 2: it again you've ruined your hair. So then once your
- 25:14Speaker 2: makeup is done, then you do your hair. Because again,
- 25:17Speaker 2: if you do your hair first, then you're like there
- 25:19Speaker 2: with like a bare face, being like whose horse is that?
- 25:21Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 25:22Speaker 2: You know, and then your hair looks shit exactly by proxy,
- 25:25Speaker 2: you know, by proxy. And so then that it must
- 25:28Speaker 2: be the way because as well outfit last. Can't put
- 25:31Speaker 2: the outfit on before you're going to get makeup on it,
- 25:34Speaker 2: that's not even a question.
- 25:36Speaker 4: And also you can't get a true understanding.
- 25:39Speaker 5: If the outfit looks like without the makeup and you
- 25:43Speaker 5: thank you even without the hair done.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Like if the hair is in a messy bun and
- 25:47Speaker 2: I've got makeup on and I put the outfit on, crazy,
- 25:49Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Crazy business a whole wardrobe. Actually, I'm not even coming anymore. Yeah,
- 25:55Speaker 3: I'll put Majami's on and I'm going to bed. Yeah.
- 25:58Speaker 5: My last piece of propaganda that I am falling for
- 26:01Speaker 5: is my eight dollar ice coffee.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Oh yeah, mine's five dollars.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Yeah, mine's five dollars. Your local, does you a good
- 26:09Speaker 4: a good deal?
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yours is five fifty because you get the soy, But
- 26:12Speaker 2: mine's oh.
- 26:12Speaker 5: At yours, yeah, at my local, mine's like seven eighty.
- 26:16Speaker 4: So but it's the propaganda I fall for, I guess.
- 26:20Speaker 3: And I love it.
- 26:21Speaker 5: But I was looking into what the average price of
- 26:24Speaker 5: coffee is because this is something a piece of propaganda
- 26:28Speaker 5: that I have been falling for for the last ten years.
- 26:31Speaker 5: And I'm like, at what point will I be like enough,
- 26:34Speaker 5: I can't afford this anymore? Yeah, Like, is coffee one
- 26:37Speaker 5: day going to be like thirty bucks?
- 26:38Speaker 2: What is the most you would pay for a soy
- 26:43Speaker 2: ice latte.
- 26:44Speaker 4: If there was no other option?
- 26:46Speaker 2: Like, as we walked into a cafe and you ordered one,
- 26:50Speaker 2: what's the price that they would say back to you
- 26:52Speaker 2: and you go, don't worry about it?
- 26:53Speaker 4: Twelve dollars?
- 26:54Speaker 5: Yeah, I think, yeah, And that's pretty bad. I'm not
- 27:00Speaker 5: proud of that because that shows how deep in this
- 27:05Speaker 5: propaganda I am.
- 27:07Speaker 4: And I hate myself for that because.
- 27:08Speaker 2: It's only four dollars more than eight dollars, you know,
- 27:11Speaker 2: I know, but that's like a lot.
- 27:12Speaker 5: That's a lot, okay, But I was curious, like, what
- 27:16Speaker 5: is the average price of coffee?
- 27:18Speaker 4: The average price of.
- 27:19Speaker 5: A cup of coffee in Australia has risen by thirty
- 27:22Speaker 5: seven point five percent from pre pandemic levels, moving from
- 27:27Speaker 5: four dollars to approximately.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Five dollars fifty.
- 27:30Speaker 5: A flat white now costs between six dollars and seven
- 27:34Speaker 5: dollars in major cities, while an iced long black ranges
- 27:38Speaker 5: from six to fifty to eight dollars. In regional Australia,
- 27:42Speaker 5: some coffee prices have reached close to ten dollars per cup.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Fock, yeah, so oh many like pre pandemic that was
- 27:53Speaker 4: you know, five or six years ago. So how much
- 27:56Speaker 4: am I going to.
- 27:56Speaker 5: Be paying in six years? Because I don't see this
- 28:01Speaker 5: addiction being curved anytime soon? Oh my gosh, I'm deep
- 28:07Speaker 5: in the propaganda.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Baby, Yeah damn, what's yours? Okay?
- 28:12Speaker 2: My propaganda that I am falling for is recipe talk.
- 28:17Speaker 3: I love TikTok recipes. I think they're like one of
- 28:21Speaker 3: the best things to come out of the app.
- 28:23Speaker 2: And it's just made cooking so much more fun and
- 28:26Speaker 2: so much more experimental, and.
- 28:28Speaker 3: I've just made things that I've never even conjured in
- 28:32Speaker 3: my brain before. My one of my favorite.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Recipe TikTok is is Michael Finch, Yeah.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Which I really like his content as well.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I love it and like I used to watch his
- 28:46Speaker 2: YouTube beauty channel make Up by Michael Finch, so it's
- 28:49Speaker 2: just like so nostalgic to me as well. Yeah, like
- 28:52Speaker 2: I don't think anybody would have predicted that story art
- 28:55Speaker 2: I know what's happened, and like their recipes and their
- 28:59Speaker 2: con is just so so good. And there's one called
- 29:05Speaker 2: fuck Me Salmon Pasta. It's like people have like marry
- 29:08Speaker 2: me pasta, but he's like, I call this one fuck
- 29:11Speaker 2: Me sam and Pasta, and it's so yum and delicious
- 29:15Speaker 2: and I'm like, give it to me. But if you
- 29:19Speaker 2: also fall into the trap of like saving and liking
- 29:22Speaker 2: recipes and then never being able to find them, there's
- 29:25Speaker 2: this app called Recie Me Recime, and you can send
- 29:30Speaker 2: the TikTok to this app and it breaks down the
- 29:33Speaker 2: recipe for you in the app. That's like all the
- 29:36Speaker 2: ingredients and the directions, and I think there is like
- 29:39Speaker 2: a paid element to it. So you could also just
- 29:42Speaker 2: when you save it, organize it in the folders of
- 29:45Speaker 2: your TikTok. So when you save something on TikTok if
- 29:48Speaker 2: you don't know, I'm sure most do that, you can
- 29:50Speaker 2: put it into a folder and so you can save
- 29:52Speaker 2: all your recipes in there. But sometimes it can be
- 29:54Speaker 2: a bit hard to find, like the information or whatever.
- 29:57Speaker 2: That like, having it in an app can make it
- 29:59Speaker 2: a bit easier if you want. But yeah, I love it.
- 30:02Speaker 2: What's like, have you made anything from tiktop?
- 30:04Speaker 5: I made this like Mega rang at home, which is
- 30:08Speaker 5: so so yummy. It's like really spicy spring onions in it,
- 30:14Speaker 5: and it was so easy as well.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and you got that from TikTok h and that's
- 30:17Speaker 2: like in your regular rotation.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Now Yeah, yeah, same.
- 30:20Speaker 4: I feel like I have it once a fortnight.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Literally you're licking your lips so.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Yum, I'm imagining the chilies.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Okay, Well that's my Yeah, I love it.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Love Okay.
- 30:31Speaker 5: Should we move into our quick fire propaganda from the cheese? Oh? Yes,
- 30:35Speaker 5: so we also asked you chicks to send in the
- 30:38Speaker 5: propaganda that you're falling for. So let's do a quick
- 30:41Speaker 5: fire jelly cats. Oh my god, yes, yes, gentle parenting.
- 30:47Speaker 3: I'm Italian, so.
- 30:50Speaker 5: I'm not a parent, so I don't know exactly, but
- 30:53Speaker 5: I've also like pah propaganda and falling for filtered water.
- 30:58Speaker 3: It tastes different, it tastes different.
- 31:01Speaker 5: You are falling for that one, Oh, filtered water drug. Yeah,
- 31:04Speaker 5: cozy gaming to drop screen time, animal crossing for hours, some.
- 31:11Speaker 3: Secret Life of Mormon Wives.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Yes, we just started watching the first two episodes and I'm.
- 31:17Speaker 4: Yeah, so good. Steamed bun from Macas?
- 31:20Speaker 3: Have you had that?
- 31:21Speaker 4: No, you haven't seen that trend? Oh my god. There
- 31:25Speaker 4: it's been going on for a few years now.
- 31:27Speaker 5: But there's this trend that when you go to Maccas
- 31:30Speaker 5: you ask for a steamed bun and apparently it's amazing,
- 31:34Speaker 5: like the bun expands by like double the size, and
- 31:37Speaker 5: I think it's really like light and airy.
- 31:40Speaker 4: But I've yet to.
- 31:40Speaker 5: Try it because I always forget. So maybe we should
- 31:42Speaker 5: try it next time we get married. Absolutely, someone said,
- 31:45Speaker 5: fun Auntie is where it's at.
- 31:47Speaker 2: I saw that one. A lot of people said ten
- 31:50Speaker 2: thousand steps a day. M shopping on deep hop.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Yeah, bonus points if it's.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Like midnight and you're just buying someone's random cammiyeh from
- 32:01Speaker 2: like nineteen eighty.
- 32:02Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, thank you thirteen dollars. Thank you very much.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Money will always come back.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Oh, propaganda, I am falling for cow's milk. Mmmm, yeah,
- 32:15Speaker 2: I'm on that train.
- 32:15Speaker 4: A few people said strength training.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Oh I like that.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Someone's it special edishing books costing more than some class
- 32:25Speaker 1: Hey drugs.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Shit, there you go on books to you by?
- 32:29Speaker 4: Yeah, limited a dish.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Oh do you know what? Let's finish on this one.
- 32:33Speaker 2: This one's good one. Propaganda and falling for being introverted.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Fucking slay. Everyone needs a little bit of introvert time. Yeah,
- 32:39Speaker 2: at least once a week.
- 32:40Speaker 4: I agree.
- 32:41Speaker 3: It's a day.
- 32:41Speaker 4: We're in our cozy girl era.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Yeah, cute, love it, love it.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Well, that's a wrap.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Rappy doodles on the propaganda we are falling for. But
- 32:52Speaker 2: please feel free to let us know in the comments
- 32:53Speaker 2: of propaganda. Yalla falling for even more.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Yeah, we want to hear and no shame.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Yeah, this is a safe space. We listen and we
- 33:02Speaker 3: don't judge. All right.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Thanks Jeus having in theref he you were to be here.
- 33:08Speaker 2: We love you, chicks, thanks for making this episode of
- 33:10Speaker 2: Doe Roach Chicks happen, and we'll catch you next week.
- 33:12Speaker 3: So yeah,
