- 1:22Speaker 2: Bad Brad Wheeler.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I nominate Bad Brad Wheeler. Well, here comes some phone calls.
- 1:28Speaker 1: All right, let's begin Mike.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Hello, Yeah, what oh waits in Nashville?
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yeah? And what okay, what's the matter.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Well, that's all right, go ahead, go ahead, go ahead, Mike,
- 1:41Speaker 2: Go ahead, Mike, do the predictable.
- 1:45Speaker 5: Well, I know carry how much you like saxophonists and
- 1:47Speaker 5: bands like Well, it's Jeff Coffin's birthday. Jeff Coffin as
- 1:52Speaker 5: the saxophonist for Dave Matthews. Banny's sixty years old today.
- 1:56Speaker 6: Okay, perfectly fine, use of Hello.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I suppose it's I mean, you know, it's just Mike.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Next time you call, call about something other than Dave Matthews.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Okay, well I have one other thing actually, okay, well, okay.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Today was the first day of my kid's new school year,
- 2:17Speaker 5: so we dropped off three different kids at three different
- 2:20Speaker 5: schools today. It was very confusing and aggravating.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Now, why do they go to different schools just because
- 2:27Speaker 2: of age differences?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Or are some of them smarter?
- 2:33Speaker 5: Now they're all the same level. No, we've got it
- 2:35Speaker 5: at middle school or elementary school, and then a pre
- 2:37Speaker 5: k to that this year. So all right, okay, it's crazy.
- 2:40Speaker 2: All right, first day of school. Good day, and happy
- 2:43Speaker 2: birthday to whoever that got Thanks.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, bye, thank you very much. Let's go
- 2:48Speaker 1: to Chris. Chris. Yeah, hell Chris, where are you calling from?
- 2:54Speaker 7: I'm calling out a flaw lake.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Okay, what's up. I'd like to.
- 2:58Speaker 7: Express my frustration working as a school counselor in the
- 3:02Speaker 7: state of Utah.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Oh okay, tell us. Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 7: So, for those that don't know, Utah is what's known
- 3:08Speaker 7: as a parents' Right state, which means that basically whatever
- 3:11Speaker 7: parents say goes right. Part of being a school counselor
- 3:15Speaker 7: requires us to do classroom lessons for students, things like
- 3:17Speaker 7: bully prevention, you know, making friends, things like that. One
- 3:20Speaker 7: of the lessons we teach is suicide prevention, and every
- 3:24Speaker 7: single year I have about sixty to seventy students whose
- 3:27Speaker 7: parents do not want their parents to learn about suicide prevention, who.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Don't want their kids to learn about it.
- 3:33Speaker 6: Why on earth would you not want to have your
- 3:35Speaker 6: kids take that, because because people don't want to talk
- 3:38Speaker 6: about it.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Exactly. I think it doesn't happen. They no, No, they're
- 3:43Speaker 1: afraid that we even talk about it.
- 3:46Speaker 7: Yeah, they think that if we even talk about it,
- 3:47Speaker 7: then it gets into their heads and they start thinking
- 3:49Speaker 7: about it. They don't even talk about that subject.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Yeah, No, that's that's that's It's not that they want
- 3:55Speaker 2: that they don't want their kids to know about it
- 3:57Speaker 2: or that, but they fear. That's why people don't put
- 4:00Speaker 2: cause of death and obituaries as suicide. They never put
- 4:03Speaker 2: almost never put that. Uh, it's because A they're ashamed
- 4:07Speaker 2: of it, and then b the more you talk about it,
- 4:10Speaker 2: the more likely it is to happen.
- 4:11Speaker 6: But that I mean, I don't know what your your
- 4:14Speaker 6: history is with kids that don't take the class. Is
- 4:19Speaker 6: there some higher incidents of them having issues? Do you know?
- 4:24Speaker 1: You know?
- 4:24Speaker 7: One thing I will say is as a school counselor
- 4:26Speaker 7: once a week I do with the suicidal student.
- 4:29Speaker 1: M you guys aren't paid enough. It's yeah, well, reaching
- 4:36Speaker 1: the choir here.
- 4:36Speaker 6: I'm glad that they are coming to you, or that
- 4:39Speaker 6: someone is alerting you that there's a problem.
- 4:42Speaker 1: That that's a good thing.
- 4:44Speaker 7: There's definitely some safeguards in place. One of them is
- 4:47Speaker 7: an app.
- 4:47Speaker 5: That students use.
- 4:48Speaker 7: That's called the safe ut out where they can honestly
- 4:50Speaker 7: report friends issues, things like that. The other is a
- 4:52Speaker 7: plug and they're out there. People can dial the number
- 4:55Speaker 7: nine eight eight for suicide Prevention hotline and just general help.
- 4:58Speaker 1: And unless you're unless you're l g B t Q plus.
- 5:02Speaker 6: I mean, you could still use that number, but they
- 5:06Speaker 6: got rid of the specific.
- 5:09Speaker 2: The special counseling special counseling number and l g B
- 5:14Speaker 2: t Q plus kids are twice as likely or something
- 5:18Speaker 2: like that, twice as likely to think about suicide.
- 5:23Speaker 1: But so it's not just in Utah.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I mean, that's a national The Trump administration took that away.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Because the e I.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, well thanks for bringing me down.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You're doing you're doing good work. I'm glad you're out there.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna come to your school and have you counseled me.
- 5:45Speaker 8: Thanks do.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Let's see eight seven seven six oh two nine six
- 5:52Speaker 3: nine six.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Let's go to Eddie. Yeah, what Eddie? Good morning? What's up? Hey?
- 5:57Speaker 9: Good morning, lords and lady morning. I started four am vinyl.
- 6:02Speaker 9: I sent you guys a record, but I was gonna
- 6:04Speaker 9: see if I could talk about it for itsu.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Sure, did you eat.
- 6:10Speaker 9: Okay, Yeah, what were you going to say?
- 6:12Speaker 1: Did you get a record? I didn't get a record?
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah you got we got it. I think you have it.
- 6:17Speaker 9: Yeah, go ahead, I sent you one. The first one's
- 6:20Speaker 9: a little more country western, so probably not like your
- 6:22Speaker 9: guys' format. But Bill, I really think you'll like a
- 6:25Speaker 9: song on there called Moments Like These by a guy
- 6:27Speaker 9: named Daniel Young. I have a second volume coming out
- 6:32Speaker 9: that's a little more pop punky type stuff that I
- 6:34Speaker 9: think you guys will really like it will It's got
- 6:37Speaker 9: the plastic cherries on it and a band called Mouth.
- 6:41Speaker 9: So once that comes out, should be the beginning of September,
- 6:43Speaker 9: I'll send another copy into you guys. But right now
- 6:47Speaker 9: I'm starting an end of the year compilation because right
- 6:50Speaker 9: now my format is a ten inch vinyls that will
- 6:53Speaker 9: feature two bands with three songs from each band. And
- 6:57Speaker 9: the idea is to try to get this marketed out
- 6:59Speaker 9: of the state, to show people, like the rest of
- 7:02Speaker 9: the country, what's happening here, because I think our music
- 7:05Speaker 9: scene's pretty amazing here.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Now where can people get where can people get them?
- 7:09Speaker 2: And where what do they look for?
- 7:12Speaker 9: You can look me up on Instagram. Just four am
- 7:15Speaker 9: Vinyl on Instagram and then four am vinyl dot com
- 7:18Speaker 9: you can order it. I've got somebody working on the
- 7:21Speaker 9: website right now because I made the website and I
- 7:24Speaker 9: am not a website designer, as you will see if
- 7:26Speaker 9: you go there. But uh yeah, I'm working on an
- 7:31Speaker 9: end of year compilation that'll include like twenty to twenty
- 7:34Speaker 9: five bands and one song from each one, and it'll
- 7:36Speaker 9: be a double twelve inch and then people can vote
- 7:39Speaker 9: on their favorite band and they'll be a booklet with
- 7:43Speaker 9: artwork too, and they can vote on their favorite artists
- 7:46Speaker 9: for listener's choice compilation. Excell'll be coming out.
- 7:49Speaker 1: All right, sounds good, Thank you, thank you very much. Awesome,
- 7:53Speaker 1: see you think all right? It's uh yeah what it continues.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Mike is on the phone.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Hey Mike, I carry Bill and Gina. I want to
- 8:03Speaker 4: talk about summer movies for a second.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Okay, okay, go ahead.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Uh have you guys seen any of the big blockbuster
- 8:12Speaker 4: summer movies and if so, which ones were your favorite?
- 8:17Speaker 1: Carry four Fantastic I.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Saw Fantastic four, I saw Superman, liked them both.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I I'm you know me, I'm.
- 8:26Speaker 3: A Marvel zombie, but I have to say I like
- 8:28Speaker 3: Superman just a little bit better. Oh really, just a
- 8:31Speaker 3: little bit better than Fantastic One.
- 8:33Speaker 6: So it's fantastic for more stylish than story. Is that
- 8:36Speaker 6: kind of what I'm hearing it?
- 8:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 8:39Speaker 3: We I wanted more character. There's a lot of character
- 8:42Speaker 3: development in it, but I wanted more because it is
- 8:45Speaker 3: about family. I wanted more about that, and that's where
- 8:48Speaker 3: Superman delivered more.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Mike, let me ask you, have you seen any summer
- 8:53Speaker 2: blockbuster movies?
- 8:55Speaker 4: Well, I thought the summer. Yes, I have the summer
- 8:58Speaker 4: movie to see in my book was f one because
- 9:01Speaker 4: it was so exhilarating. You're watching these two hundred mile
- 9:05Speaker 4: an hour formula cars racing for two hours straight, and
- 9:11Speaker 4: it had me on the edge of my seat. I
- 9:13Speaker 4: loved the whole movie.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Cool. That's good. Good.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I'm glad you enjoyed it. Did you go see it
- 9:18Speaker 2: like in Imax, the Cinerama.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Yes, the big Imax, and it was incredible. I want
- 9:25Speaker 4: to see it again.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Yeah, if you're gonna see Fantastic Four, see it in
- 9:29Speaker 3: Imax because Galactus walking through the streets of New York
- 9:33Speaker 3: in Imax is glorious.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Well, thanks for calling, Mike, have a I hope this
- 9:38Speaker 2: is I hope you have a great swimmer.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Thanks guys, all right, yeah bye.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Mike eight seven seven six oh two nine six nine six.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Now see that call. That that phone call, that chat
- 9:49Speaker 2: with Mike. That's like talking to your neighbor over the
- 9:51Speaker 2: backyard fence.
- 9:52Speaker 1: That's all right, Cary. How are you doing today? I'm
- 9:55Speaker 1: doing fine, Mike. See any good movies?
- 9:57Speaker 3: Sorry movies?
- 9:58Speaker 4: Sorry about your tree?
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:01Speaker 3: Well I did watch Final Destination Bloodlines this weekend.
- 10:07Speaker 1: That was That was.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Cringey fun eight seven seven six two nine six nine six.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Any you know, you can just chit chat like Mike
- 10:17Speaker 2: wanted to.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Just chit chat serious, but it can. Yeah. I did
- 10:23Speaker 1: a Jurassic part. Yeah, let's see.
- 10:27Speaker 3: There's a text from Dawson in the other room. What
- 10:29Speaker 3: sounds good for dinner? Should I have chicken, mushroom, kebabs
- 10:32Speaker 3: or steak and taters.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I'd always go with steak and taters. I'm going to
- 10:37Speaker 1: have steak and shashido peppers. This week.
- 10:40Speaker 3: This is uh in relation to that phone call from
- 10:44Speaker 3: the counselor the high school counselor. We're allowed to request
- 10:49Speaker 3: three to five school supplies from parents, no fees. Frustrating
- 10:53Speaker 3: that they middle school teachers can require supplies and or
- 10:58Speaker 3: charge fees.
- 10:59Speaker 6: Yeah, three to five school supplies is not enough for
- 11:01Speaker 6: your Yeah, and and.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Teachers shouldn't be paying for that.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I mean, you know, we we've got money to build
- 11:08Speaker 1: a ballroom at the White House. Why don't we have
- 11:11Speaker 1: money for lunches school supplies.
- 11:13Speaker 6: I saw somebody tweeting about that, saying, you know, police
- 11:16Speaker 6: officers don't have to pay for the gas in their cars.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Exactly. You know there's any another bullets? Yeah, go to
- 11:22Speaker 1: one one.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Jackson.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Oh jeez, Jackson got a horrible phone. Jackson, my god
- 11:32Speaker 1: called back. Yeah, well, yeah, that's not good. I can't
- 11:35Speaker 1: Cary again. Whoa Wow? That hurt. And he said he
- 11:41Speaker 1: didn't know what was wrong. Sometimes you just need a refresh.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Let's go to Jessica. Hello, Jessica, good morning? Where are you? Jessica?
- 11:51Speaker 1: Good morning? Where are you? Okay? What's up.
- 11:57Speaker 10: About sister Dotty?
- 11:59Speaker 4: The other day?
- 11:59Speaker 7: And I wanted to know what happened with her?
- 12:02Speaker 2: Oh God, well, I hate to break it, do you,
- 12:06Speaker 2: but Sister Dottie the creation of our of our good
- 12:09Speaker 2: friend Charles Charles Lynn Frost. Charles Lynn Frost got an
- 12:15Speaker 2: aggressive form of cancer and he died a couple of.
- 12:20Speaker 1: During the pandemic. It was it's been it's been a minute.
- 12:25Speaker 6: Maybe Katie can dig up a best of that we
- 12:28Speaker 6: can play today sometime or or post up or post.
- 12:32Speaker 6: Katie said she's on it, so so pay attention to
- 12:35Speaker 6: our social media. We'll we'll play, we'll post some Sister
- 12:38Speaker 6: Dottie today. How about that?
- 12:40Speaker 7: That would be lovely?
- 12:41Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Yeah, thank you. Let's go to Braiden.
- 12:47Speaker 5: Hello.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah, what hi, Braiden? Where are you calling?
- 12:52Speaker 8: I'm currently calling from Highland?
- 12:57Speaker 1: Okay, what's up?
- 13:00Speaker 8: The reason I'm calling is a short PSA for anyone
- 13:05Speaker 8: who is driving south on I fifteen and gets off
- 13:09Speaker 8: on the Draper exit or the exit where the aquarium is.
- 13:13Speaker 8: I believe it's one two three zero zero south. Yeah,
- 13:17Speaker 8: you do not if you are turning right off that exit,
- 13:21Speaker 8: you do not have to stop. There's no stop sign,
- 13:26Speaker 8: there's no yield sign, there's no mergen.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:30Speaker 8: But people, they just hold up all the traffic and
- 13:34Speaker 8: I can't. I can't do it anymore.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I know it's it is.
- 13:37Speaker 2: It's odd because you know, you you can understand why
- 13:40Speaker 2: people do it because in almost every other instance, Yeah,
- 13:44Speaker 2: you do have to either there's a stop sign or
- 13:46Speaker 2: maybe a light, but that just has a lane that
- 13:49Speaker 2: emerges onto the onto the street. You don't have to
- 13:54Speaker 2: worry about it. But but you can understand why they
- 13:56Speaker 2: do it.
- 13:57Speaker 1: It just gets I can.
- 13:59Speaker 2: But if you're traveling that way and it happens to
- 14:02Speaker 2: you every day, it gets to be rather aggravating.
- 14:05Speaker 1: It was like when you go up to the Capitol.
- 14:07Speaker 1: You'd go up State Street to get to the.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Capitol before they put in that traffic circle, and you'd
- 14:12Speaker 2: get up there and there was no stop sign there
- 14:15Speaker 2: at the top of the hill, but people would inevitably.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Stop because it feels like there should be one. That's all. Yeah,
- 14:22Speaker 1: well thanks for the PSA.
- 14:24Speaker 8: There was Actually there was a big sign at the
- 14:27Speaker 8: top of the Capitol at the time that said no
- 14:29Speaker 8: stop required.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Yeah, they finally did put a sign in.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I was in a line of cars there stopped and
- 14:35Speaker 2: there was a cop car maybe four cars behind me,
- 14:38Speaker 2: and he turned.
- 14:40Speaker 1: On his loud speaker and said move it. I need Yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 1: let's try Jackson again.
- 14:51Speaker 8: Hello.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Yeah, what there we go? Hi Jackson, Yeah, that's up.
- 14:58Speaker 11: I have no idea what the problem was.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I'm sure it was on our end. I'm sure of it.
- 15:03Speaker 11: Oh that's unfortunate.
- 15:04Speaker 10: Well, here's what's up. On Friday.
- 15:08Speaker 11: I have an album coming out under my stage named
- 15:12Speaker 11: Dread November called The slip Away. I just wanted to
- 15:16Speaker 11: let you guys know. Yeah, the slip Away.
- 15:19Speaker 6: What kind of music is it?
- 15:22Speaker 11: It's Gothic industrial mostly, a little a little alternative pop,
- 15:28Speaker 11: a little alternative rock.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I like the title of the record, the slip Away,
- 15:35Speaker 1: The slip.
- 15:36Speaker 10: Away, I like it too.
- 15:37Speaker 11: Honestly.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Where can people get this new release?
- 15:41Speaker 10: It's on Spotify and Apple Music and YouTube music and
- 15:46Speaker 10: Amazon Music and all those other music places to listen
- 15:50Speaker 10: to Dread November.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And is it just you or do you have some
- 15:54Speaker 1: band names?
- 15:56Speaker 11: It is just me. I do have people that I
- 15:58Speaker 11: would play with if I went to go play live,
- 16:00Speaker 11: but it's just me who's produced everything.
- 16:03Speaker 1: All right, I will check it out later on today.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 16:08Speaker 11: That sounds exciting. Thank you so much.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Jackson. Well, that's a that's a hello.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Yeah what it's all the time we have for hello?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:16Speaker 1: What Sorry,
