- 1:14Welcome to 70x80, the section of 7080 .it that
- 1:18deepens the topics dealt with on the portal.
- 1:21I'm with the journalist Enzo Mauri, who introduces
- 1:24today's topic. Good morning, today I'm talking
- 1:27to you about a successful comic. Destiny wants
- 1:29quality products to undergo countless attempts
- 1:32of imitation. In the 60s, the same fate touched
- 1:35Diabolic, which made several publications from
- 1:39the beginning, the so -called minor black, among
- 1:41which SADIC was one of the best comics. Sadik
- 1:44was born from an idea by the journalist and screenwriter
- 1:47of comics Nino Cannata, inspired by the success
- 1:49of Diabolik, published by the sisters Angela
- 1:52and Luciana Giussani. The drawings were taken
- 1:54care of in particular by Gianni Agnello, Camillo
- 1:56Zuffi, Ennio Missaglia and Clario Onesti. Published
- 2:00on March 10, 1965 by Ugo Dal Buono editor, the
- 2:04first number of Sadik entitled The Castle of
- 2:06Terror was immediately exhausted with 100 ,000
- 2:09copies sold. At the time, such comics as Satanic
- 2:12or Criminal despite the undoubted success, risked
- 2:15censorship due to content considered at least
- 2:18uneducated. For this reason, after just two numbers,
- 2:26the publisher decided to suspend its distribution.
- 2:28With the help of Sadiq, Edizioni Antares resumed
- 2:32its publications until January 1966 for a total
- 2:35of 12 numbers, giving life to what is remembered
- 2:38by collectors as a yellow series for the color
- 2:40of the ribs, followed by the red one, composed
- 2:43of only five albs. From March 1966 to December
- 2:471967, for a total of 45 releases, came the Diamond
- 2:51series, this time under the edition Alhambra
- 2:54by Renato Bianconi. To avoid censorship, in fact,
- 2:56the first numbers of Sadi, which had a fairly
- 2:59irregular release date that ranged between the
- 3:01monthly and the quaternary, the latter was adopted
- 3:04by the third series. There was also the kidnapping
- 3:06of album number 17 of November 1966, Double Game,
- 3:11and the missed release of number 46, La Grande
- 3:14Sfida, planned at the first moment. Distinguished
- 3:16for the quality of the drawings and the stories
- 3:18of José, Sadiq was cynical and merciless. The
- 3:21costume that combined him with the K in the name
- 3:24and the other characters of the same genre, thanks
- 3:26to a chemical process, temporarily became a projectile
- 3:30test. Look for the page and the group of 7080

- 3:39beautiful years. Next to him, the fascinating
- 3:40and cruel Luna, while the policeman Eddie Castell,
- 3:43inspired by the actor Eddie Constantine, was
- 3:45his terrible enemy. Just to make the story less
- 3:48cruel and therefore avoid problems of legal nature,
- 3:51the editor Renato Bianconi decided to modify
- 3:53the characteristics of Sadiq, who had become
- 3:56a hunter of criminals. The change of route did
- 3:58not please the readers who abandoned the comic,
- 4:00determining the end of the publication. In addition
- 4:06to the prints issued in the 70s and 80s, in 2008
- 4:09there were three versions of the number 46 of
- 4:12SADIC, the first called 46 series Diamante 2008,
- 4:16another printed in 555 copies numbered on the
- 4:19occasion of the Comic Convention of Milan, the
- 4:21third of only 53 copies with each an original
- 4:24table. Thanks to Enzo Mauri for the theme today,
- 4:28appointment to the next episode of 70x80. Tyler
