- 0:00coming up oh my god that can lead to some sort
- 0:05of possession yeah fuck this fuck them fuck everything
- 0:09fuck you when's the podcast starting right now
- 0:13oh perfect um it actually started last week because
- 0:18in last week's podcast episode we talked about
- 0:20kind of crafting the scariest possible solo investigation
- 0:24imaginable and by the way if that episode gets
- 0:29400 listens by september 1st 2026 we will follow
- 0:33through and make it a reality if you want this
- 0:36to happen you actually got to like try to share
- 0:39this podcast out to people and be supportive
- 0:43of us in a torturous way because we don't want
- 0:46this but also hey i mean you don't you don't
- 0:50have to listen to that episode too like it's
- 0:53fine if you skip that one But let me know because
- 0:58then I'll listen to it an extra time. I got an
- 1:01extra Spotify account. Brianna already said she's
- 1:03not going to listen intentionally because she
- 1:05doesn't want to get to 400 listens. So I'm going
- 1:07to listen to it again on Spotify. But yeah, just
- 1:12let me know. You don't have to listen to it.
- 1:13I'll listen to it again. But anyways, if you
- 1:16want to know the context of why we bickering
- 1:18about this previous episode. I was going to say
- 1:21go listen to it, but maybe not. Who knows? Depends
- 1:24who you ask. Point being, we crafted the scariest
- 1:27possible outcome for a solo investigation. But
- 1:31I have a question to ponder. Because that was
- 1:34all fun and games, talking about the scariest
- 1:36possible solo that may or may not become a reality.
- 1:41Now we've got to get serious for a second. Because,
- 1:44like everything, you have the serious, you have
- 1:47the fun. Last time was the fun, now it's the
- 1:49serious. Every time we post something paranormal,
- 1:53and we show a natural, genuine reaction, maybe
- 1:57we get startled. Maybe we say, oh my god. Angela
- 2:01loves to say, dude. Dude. Anytime. Say it again.
- 2:09Dude. Yes. Every time she says, dude, someone
- 2:16comments on the video saying, do not. Show it
- 2:20fear. You better not show it fear. And then you
- 2:24ask, what do you mean? That was just a natural
- 2:27reaction. Why can't you show or express your
- 2:30emotions? Why aren't you allowed to be yourself?
- 2:32Why aren't you allowed to just be genuine in
- 2:35whatever happens? And then they say, it opens
- 2:37you up to demonic possession. And you know how
- 2:44we feel about the possession tapes. So, I guess
- 2:48we gotta answer the question right now, over
- 2:52the course of this podcast. Is there a danger
- 2:56to being scared and showing fear? Does that open
- 3:03you up or make you more vulnerable to a demonic
- 3:06attack? Welcome to our podcast, where we take
- 3:09deep dives looking at various topics through
- 3:12a paranormal lens. Okay, we're back from the
- 3:16intro. Any thoughts to ponder? So, you're not
- 3:22going to like my answer. Because I want to say
- 3:26yes and no. That was my answer. Oh, okay. Maybe
- 3:33for different reasons, though. But yeah, continue.
- 3:35Okay. So, why yes? In the past, we've talked
- 3:40about, like, um... our episode on like exorcisms
- 3:45and like possession and getting attachments and
- 3:48that sort of stuff that vulnerable state is what
- 3:53can lead or a state similar is what can lead
- 3:58to some sort of possession or attachment like
- 4:02that that being said not all things that you're
- 4:07going to experience during investigations because
- 4:11of your heightened sense of fear are going to
- 4:16be an attachment or possession or demonic in
- 4:22any way and it literally could just be your fear
- 4:25and it is more than likely just your heightened
- 4:29awareness that's causing you to have the reactions
- 4:31so it's a yes and no because yes you could be
- 4:35more open but it's a no because you may not actually
- 4:38be having these crazy experiences you just are
- 4:41having a heightened adrenaline making you seem
- 4:45like you're having more things happen so you're
- 4:49more heightened aware of your surroundings too
- 4:52when you're scared so i feel like you will see
- 4:55more things yeah or not see but experience more
- 4:59things i mean you're more likely to get spooked
- 5:03by your own shadow and then when you can't replicate
- 5:05it uh go away thinking it was a ghost because
- 5:10you were scared as opposed to i mean how many
- 5:13times do you do a double take in broad daylight
- 5:16getting spooked by your own shadow and then you
- 5:19walk away because it's broad daylight randomly
- 5:23and you don't think anything of it like the context
- 5:25matters if you're in a dark spooky attic and
- 5:27that happens and you're already scared you're
- 5:28gonna probably trick yourself into or convince
- 5:31yourself that was a ghost yeah we've definitely
- 5:34all had that happen Where in hindsight, we're
- 5:37like, okay, there's probably nothing. But in
- 5:39the moment, we were convinced it could have been
- 5:42something. You have to kind of like talk yourself
- 5:44down from the experience because context does
- 5:47matter. My other caveat and why I would say no
- 5:53is because we talked recently, I think it was
- 5:55in the AI episode, about if fear of AI can like
- 5:59feed AI, like if it's an egregore, if that egregorical,
- 6:04which is a word. We didn't make up, but we kind
- 6:07of fell in love with that. If AI is an egregore,
- 6:10can our fear of it feed it? Essentially, can
- 6:14fear feed egregores? And we kind of said no,
- 6:18because in your words, people aren't really scared
- 6:22of AI. They were more angry of it. And we're
- 6:25kind of talking about, like, is fear more powerful
- 6:28than anger when it comes to egregores and stuff?
- 6:31And what we determined, at least at the time,
- 6:34was... That we all kind of thought, like, all
- 6:37these emotions have equal, I don't know, strength
- 6:40or, like, energy when it comes to this stuff.
- 6:42So, my mindset applying it to this conundrum
- 6:44is, if I show fear, or if I get spooked, really,
- 6:50how is that any different than if I go into an
- 6:52investigation? Because who knows how I felt leading
- 6:55up to it, what happened earlier in the day, in
- 6:58the week, if I'm stressed. If I'm just stressed,
- 7:00if work is stressful, if I had an argument with
- 7:02someone before, if I'm angry. how does that have
- 7:06like i don't think that has any less of an impact
- 7:09you know i feel like anger i feel like sadness
- 7:13we've all been gotten unexplained sadness on
- 7:17investigations if we acknowledge that like oh
- 7:20i feel really sad right now does that open you
- 7:22up to a demonic you know what i'm saying like
- 7:24i i just that's kind of where my mind was going
- 7:28of What does that imply about the other emotions?
- 7:32Because if you're saying that fear can open you
- 7:35up, you're also. Other emotions can open you
- 7:39up. Yeah. I mean, and I, I do think that's like
- 7:43true, like other emotions can open you up, but
- 7:47I think that's going beyond what we're talking
- 7:51about. Well, but to that point question, we've
- 7:56all. had that, like, sensation in other people
- 7:59too, it's common in paranormal, just, oh my god,
- 8:02I just felt unexplained sadness out of nowhere.
- 8:04Yeah. Should you acknowledge that? If you, in
- 8:08the moment, say that and draw attention to the
- 8:11emotion, are you opening yourself up to whatever's
- 8:15causing that emotion? That's a good question.
- 8:18I never really thought about that. In a paranormal
- 8:22investigator sense, Yes, you should still, like,
- 8:26say it out loud because you want to document
- 8:29it. But in a other sense, in a safety sense of,
- 8:34oh, I don't want an attachment or to draw attention
- 8:36to myself, you probably know. But if you're an
- 8:39investigator, you do want to have those experiences.
- 8:43So you do want to open yourself up. See, this
- 8:50is the point where the yes and no answer kind
- 8:51of falls apart. Who are you in this scenario?
- 8:54Are you the investigator, Bree? Or are you the
- 8:57person that doesn't want that out? Depends on
- 9:01the day. Depends on the day. That's an answer
- 9:09usually resigned for if someone says, what's
- 9:12your favorite song? And you say, depends on the
- 9:14day. Is addressing the unexplained sorrow you're
- 9:19experiencing right now, opening your demonic
- 9:21attachment, depends on the day? Depends on the
- 9:26day. You equate demonic possession to your favorite
- 9:32song? That's the level where, I love this. Depends
- 9:37on the day. Depends on the day. Ask me tomorrow.
- 9:42Ask me tomorrow. angela what about you what what's
- 9:50your what's going through your mind no man um
- 9:54i don't know it may be the energy coming from
- 9:57you because of your fear can make the energy
- 10:00stronger or whatever but i don't know i don't
- 10:04know well that's another point too do we think
- 10:07the energy we put into the paranormal investigation
- 10:10is kind of like a mirror in a way and it comes
- 10:11back like if we're just walking through a haunted
- 10:13place i'll kind of pissy in an attitude, not
- 10:17really paying attention to it, and we're just
- 10:18like, fuck this, fuck that. Do you think, like,
- 10:21that's gonna reflect back? Yeah. I think so,
- 10:25yeah. Yeah, you're not gonna do anything, because
- 10:28the ghosts are also gonna be like, yeah, fuck
- 10:30this, fuck them, fuck everything, fuck you, fuck
- 10:34me. But would that ironically open you up to
- 10:37a possession or a negative experience more, because
- 10:40you're putting out negativity? So is putting
- 10:42out negativity... Maybe worse if it is reflective
- 10:47or is it just... I don't know. Maybe I'm overthinking
- 10:51it. But... If you go in... Let's just assume
- 10:55you're going in with a positive attitude. How
- 10:58about that? Because if you're going in with a
- 11:00bad attitude and you're provoking and stuff,
- 11:02we already said we don't agree with provoking
- 11:04and stuff. So... Because I feel like that stuff,
- 11:08if you're intentionally trying to rile it up,
- 11:11if you're intentionally trying to rile it up,
- 11:13it's going to have a negative reaction. And there
- 11:16are consequences. But if you're going in a clean
- 11:18slate and you're just angry at other stuff or
- 11:22you're scared just about the environment. Yeah,
- 11:25it all depends, I guess, on the attitude that
- 11:27you have. Yeah. Like, what specific kind of attitude
- 11:32are you having at the moment? Like, are you being
- 11:35sad? Are you being angry? Are you having a F
- 11:38this attitude? Are you going in with an attitude
- 11:41already believing nothing's going to happen?
- 11:44Are you going in with an attitude believing the
- 11:47scariest shit is going to happen tonight, you
- 11:50know? Well, that's a good point, too. If you
- 11:53believe that everything there is a demon, you're
- 11:55going to encounter a demon. You're going to encounter
- 11:57a demon, yes. Caught on camera. Big O -face.
- 12:01Everyone make their O -face for our little...
- 12:06That's a thumbnail right there. i'm gonna do
- 12:11a big red circle too oh my god everyone knows
- 12:13what we're talking about but if you don't and
- 12:15you need a visual just like look at this podcast
- 12:17like artwork okay um oh so cringy it is cringy
- 12:23it is cringy but if you if you put out that cringy
- 12:25everything's a demon attitude you know what's
- 12:27gonna happen i think i think there is a level
- 12:30to this of we are potentially overthinking it
- 12:33some of it is predictable there is some predictability
- 12:36if you're a negative nancy And you just go in
- 12:41and you're stirring shit up intentionally. What
- 12:45do you think is going to happen? Intention matters.
- 12:48Now, clean slate. You're positive. You have as
- 12:55little bias as possible on how you expect or
- 12:59want the investigation to go. And you just randomly
- 13:03get spooked, right? You are the cleanest of slates.
- 13:07And you just... get rattled and you go, oh my
- 13:12god! Does that... What? That was a sound, Ben.
- 13:23That was a sound. I'm just saying, like, if this
- 13:27is clean slate and you just get spooked randomly,
- 13:30does that instance of fear matter? Is that dangerous?
- 13:41No. I would say no. Yeah. I would say no. Because,
- 13:48like, you're not, you're not in a, I don't, I'm
- 13:57going to say no. But what you're trying to say
- 14:01is, I think there's a difference between you
- 14:03being scared all night and you getting. spooked
- 14:07in an instance yes yes that is that is what i
- 14:11was that is what my brain was thinking but my
- 14:13words were not wording no that's good because
- 14:16i was gonna say this is like another point i
- 14:18was gonna bring up here was clip culture on social
- 14:22media if someone gets spooked by an instance
- 14:26that is what we call clippable so we clip that
- 14:31instance and it gets a lot of views on the internet
- 14:35That is 10 seconds out of 10 hours. That is not
- 14:41a representation of the evening or how we felt
- 14:43throughout the evening. So when someone comments,
- 14:46don't show it fear, it's natural for us to be
- 14:50like, we weren't showing fear. Then if you take
- 14:53a step back, that's all they know about us is
- 14:57we showed fear in that one instance. We got spooked.
- 15:00But that's the entirety of that one clip. unfortunately
- 15:06that's the entirety of some people's perception
- 15:10perception i mean hint hint project fear i mean
- 15:18it says fear in the name right so i mean and
- 15:20their whole their whole thing is fear like yeah
- 15:23you and they're straight up about that like so
- 15:27you can't blame them but still it's just like
- 15:33They get scared all the time. I do love them,
- 15:35but it's just like you do this so often. How
- 15:38are you so scared by like basic ghost hunting
- 15:41stuff like now? Yeah, REM pod goes off, they
- 15:45scream. Should we psychoanalyze this a little
- 15:49bit? Do you think part of it is if you truly
- 15:53believe that fear can heighten the activity,
- 15:59wouldn't you want to always be scared? Just to
- 16:03get more clippable YouTube content. If you're
- 16:07a YouTuber and you have the firm belief, you
- 16:10have fear in your name, you have the belief that
- 16:13fear makes more activity happen, wouldn't you
- 16:16always want to be scared and never change? I
- 16:20was going to say, if you want activity and you
- 16:22believe that being scared is going to cause more
- 16:25activity, then continue being scared. But that
- 16:29comes down to belief. Do we believe? Yeah. Do
- 16:31we share that belief? Do we think that if we
- 16:33go into an investigation and we are scared out
- 16:36of our minds the entire night, that would make
- 16:38for... Like, let's say we're filming. We're making...
- 16:41We're filming two investigations. One that we
- 16:45film, we're scared out of our minds the entire
- 16:47time. The other, we're not. Would the one where
- 16:50we're scared have... I don't know, more activity?
- 16:55Just based on that variable changing? Man, this
- 17:04is a hard question. I'm not sure. I'm not sure
- 17:08either. Yeah, I'm not sure. If we change one
- 17:14variable, only one, and it's that we are scared
- 17:17one night, we are not scared, and like, seriously
- 17:19scared the entire night. I don't know. I don't
- 17:24know. I want to say... gut instinct and this
- 17:32this was an impromptu question i didn't plan
- 17:34this before so i'm in the same boat as you guys
- 17:36i want to say it's that same getting spooked
- 17:41by your own shadow thing where in the moment
- 17:43you perceive it as the craziest night ever and
- 17:46then the next day you look back and realize nothing
- 17:50actually happened you're just psyching yourself
- 17:52out that's what i want to say well do you think
- 17:56in that case If you are scared out of your mind
- 17:59and the adrenaline is rushing and everything,
- 18:01do you think you are contaminating the investigation?
- 18:07Hmm. I... Hmm. I feel like there's just not really
- 18:16a yes or no answer to any of these. I feel like
- 18:21I want to say no. Like, I don't think you'd be
- 18:25contaminating the investigation because, I mean,
- 18:29what is the point of doing a paranormal investigation?
- 18:33It is to find out if the place is haunted or
- 18:39if there are ghosts or what have you, your goal.
- 18:43Yeah. So to have, be spooked, be scared, and
- 18:49potentially have that. ramp up activity or make
- 18:53something interact with you that's further proving
- 18:58the point of your investigation so i mean true
- 19:03i wouldn't say it would be a contamination it
- 19:07would be a potential additional benefit that's
- 19:15probably not the right words i like how you put
- 19:18it makes sense Unfortunately, there's two cons,
- 19:23though, that I can think of. One is if you are
- 19:27scared out of your mind, I know from experience,
- 19:29the footage and you're filming, the footage is
- 19:32going to be shaky because you're shaking. So
- 19:33there's one con. Yes. Another con is if you are
- 19:38freaking out the whole time, thinking that everything
- 19:41around you is 10 times scarier than it is and
- 19:45that everything is a demon. You are opening yourself
- 19:50up to the only thing worse than demons, Facebook
- 19:56trolls. You get comments like this from, this
- 20:01was, I actually got this notification. This was
- 20:03a year ago today we got this comment. It's from
- 20:07Justin. He says, supernatural shit like this
- 20:11is fake. It's all in your head 100%. I don't
- 20:13really care what you think your experiences,
- 20:16in quotes, are. And then someone responded to
- 20:19Justin named D. And D said to Justin, does your
- 20:22ass still hurt? And then Justin responded to
- 20:25D. Yeah, bro, so bad. Still recuperating. What
- 20:29are you, 11? And then D responded, no, just 10
- 20:32inches. And then they started having a whole
- 20:35argument. And then the video got half a million
- 20:38views because they were arguing. You gotta love
- 20:42the people who argue. That's what gets a lot
- 20:44of views. Yeah, please argue under last week's
- 20:47episode um justin d oh yes let's let's take send
- 20:56them send them yeah let's like take them in the
- 20:59comments or something and then you just let it
- 21:02roll from there just under last week's episode
- 21:05i tagged justin and d saying hey how's your ass
- 21:08feeling now it's been a year But, like, not as
- 21:14crossroads of curiosity, like, as my personal
- 21:17accountant over, like, who the fuck is this?
- 21:19Oh my god. Who is this random man? But if you
- 21:25don't acknowledge, like, vibes or feeling spooked,
- 21:29you don't get comments like that, you know what
- 21:31I mean? So... Yeah. Yeah. I mean, if you show
- 21:38a bunch of fear and your adrenaline is amped...
- 21:42And then someone responds to you, it's all in
- 21:45your head. What do you really say to that? Like,
- 21:48there comes a point, I'm not talking about us.
- 21:51I'm talking about people that are just like the
- 21:54big screamers and they're always scared and everything's
- 21:57a ghost. And someone says to them, it's all in
- 21:59your head. Like, there comes a point, I think,
- 22:04where you got to evolve past a state of perpetual
- 22:08fear. Just my two cents. because that's the only
- 22:13way you truly know if it's in your head or not
- 22:15yeah i mean i feel like we're getting to that
- 22:20point like there's like we go to investigations
- 22:22and it's just like we're not scared constantly
- 22:26i'm not brie are you scared constantly not constantly
- 22:30no i definitely get spooked yeah like we're just
- 22:34telling sometimes and i feel like that really
- 22:36helps with like being more aware of what's actually
- 22:41happening. I think that's good. I like how we
- 22:46differentiated getting spooked from having fear
- 22:50of ghost hunting. We don't have a fear of ghost
- 22:54hunting. You can get spooked by it, though. Yeah.
- 22:59But I guess Project Spooked doesn't have a good
- 23:03ring to it. I'm totally naming this episode Podcast
- 23:11Fear. I hope that's not already taken. That's
- 23:17funny. That's really, really good. On that note,
- 23:21any final thoughts? No, I think we all kind of
- 23:26wrapped it in a nice little bow. Yeah. I do have
- 23:30a confession. Oh, no. I'm scared. What is it?
- 23:34I'm scared of ending this episode. You're gonna
- 23:39cause paranormal activity. Well, that's dangerous
- 23:42in your guys' apartment. I'm scared of ending.
- 23:51Don't let Annabelle know you're scared. Don't
- 23:55let Annabelle know. Don't let her know. She can
- 24:01smell it, Ben. She can smell the whiskey. That
- 24:08reminds me though of like when we go live on
- 24:10TikTok and the amount of people who are like,
- 24:12don't show fear, they'll know. And I'm just like,
- 24:15well, they're also like our roommates and they
- 24:19know us good enough. So they would know if we're
- 24:21actually like scared or not. And believe me,
- 24:24we're not scared right now. It's okay. All the
- 24:27ghosts in the apartment, they don't engage in
- 24:29clip culture. You know why? They died in the
- 24:3219th and 20th century. That we know of. It could
- 24:35be a 2000 ghost. Either way, it was pre -TikTok,
- 24:38so they know us for who we are. They don't watch
- 24:4410 seconds and think we're scared. Yes. I mean,
- 24:51that's another reason why we started this podcast.
- 24:52We're anti -clip culture, so next time someone
- 24:55says, you guys shouldn't show what fear, I will
- 24:58respond with a link to this episode, and I guarantee
- 25:01none of them listen, because they don't have
- 25:03the attention span to listen to something more
- 25:04than a minute long. Hey, you can't insult our
- 25:07people. I know, but I'm not insulting our people.
- 25:12I'm just saying there's a reason a clip of us
- 25:15screaming gets a million views on TikTok and
- 25:18then us talking about the experience for 20 minutes.
- 25:23No one has time to listen. They're like, eh,
- 25:25it's too long. Well, a million of you watched
- 25:29the clip. It's 20 minutes, audio only. You can't
- 25:34get people to... engage in long -form content.
- 25:38It's unfortunate, but that's a conversation for
- 25:41another day. Hey, you know what's good, though?
- 25:44It's that people who can engage in long -term,
- 25:47they're the people for us. They're November fans.
- 25:52They're the people we want. They are. And if
- 25:54you're still curious, last week's episode, we
- 25:57crafted the scariest solo of all time, and instead
- 26:01of 400 people listening by September 1st, we
- 26:03will actually do it. It involves a bat shitting
- 26:07on Brianna's head. Or whoever does the solo.
- 26:13Yeah. Doesn't have to be me, but it will most
- 26:18likely end up being because that's just how it
- 26:20goes. When I suggest something and I'm like,
- 26:24ooh, this would be fun for a solo, I'm always
- 26:27the one who ends up doing it. Go listen to last
- 26:32week's episode. Even if you already heard it.
- 26:35Listen to it again. Okay. Thanks for listening
- 26:41to this week's episode of Paranormal Lens. If
- 26:44you liked what you heard, every five -star rating
- 26:46and positive review tells the algorithms we're
- 26:49a worthy podcast and pushes us out to more listeners.
- 26:53We appreciate each and every one of you and we'll
- 26:56see you next Thursday for another paranormal
- 26:58deep dive.
