Expect the unexpected
As attention turns to the immediate aftermath of Easter Sunday, Gareth takes time this week to reflect on the story of the road to Emmaus. The two travellers who unwittingly encounter Jesus just hours after this Earth-shattering event are confused – they’ve missed the point entirely and had completely incorrect expectations of what would happen to Jesus. How the story would play out. Is Jesus the person we expect to be or is he very different and far more?
