After establishing Jesus Christ as the preeminent here in Chapter 2, Paul warns the Church at Colossae. False teachers have come in who were teaching Philosophy, Legalism, and Asceticism as a way to salvation and holiness. We, too, must beware that we are not deceived by the persuasive words of false teaching, which lead believers away from the truth and liberty we have in Jesus Christ alone.
