- 2:02I mean, I'm nervous for this talk, but I'm so excited, like it's finally happening.

- 2:43Congratulations Yvonne Thank you, and thank you for being part of this.
- 2:47I'll be driving the Screen2Speed Dream Team, Accelerated by Male,
- 2:53uh, together with Seradov, Nina Ham, and And Victoria Mello.
- 2:59I'm really looking forward to this.
- 3:00This will be the VCO infinity.
- 3:04Oh God, that will be so awesome.
- 3:07I mean, competing in VCO, I mean, I feel like it's like everyone's dream
- 3:13to compete there in high level of competition and congratulation for
- 3:17making your way to the dream team.
- 3:20I'm so looking forward to have you, to see how you're doing in the race.
- 3:25But before we talk about the VCO and Dream Team and more, uh, why don't you introduce
- 3:32yourself to the audience, Yvonne?
- 3:36Yes.
- 3:37Well, I'm Yvonne Aufflaer, 30 years old, originally from the
- 3:41Netherlands, but living in Austria now.
- 3:44And, uh, I am, uh, the community manager from Energy Sports.
- 3:48I'm also a disabled sim racer and a racing driver.
- 3:52I'm Um, yes, it is.
- 3:58Right, right.
- 4:00So I feel like you're doing a lot of things like you're sim racing.
- 4:05You are racing in real life and also you are the community
- 4:09manager of Innit Esports.
- 4:11That sounds like a lot of job to do.
- 4:14Don't you think so?
- 4:16It is, but I have the passion for it.
- 4:18So if you have the passion for it, it doesn't feel like working.
- 4:21Right.
- 4:21That's great.
- 4:23Yes.
- 4:25Right.
- 4:25Right.
- 4:26And before, before we talk more about this, um, would
- 4:31you mind to explain it to us?
- 4:32Like how did you get into motorsport or sim racing?
- 4:37Well, I was a little girl, seven years old.
- 4:40I was already watching Formula One with my dad.
- 4:44And we were on holiday in the south of France.
- 4:48And there was a go karting track, an outdoor one.
- 4:51And I said to my parents, I said, Oh, this is cool.
- 4:54I want to do this.
- 4:55So I went there and went some go karting.
- 4:58And, uh, yeah, I loved it and, uh, Emily's one as well.
- 5:02So back in Holland, we were looking for a go karting club and,
- 5:07uh, that's where it all started.
- 5:09Right.
- 5:10So you went to this, you, uh, you, you're watching this Formula One race with your
- 5:15dad and you were like, I want to race too.
- 5:19Yes.
- 5:20And you started finding a karting club?
- 5:24Yes.
- 5:25Yeah, and Zootermeer.
- 5:26Uh, it's now, uh, way more improved than it was back then, which is great to see,
- 5:32because I keep following them still.
- 5:35And, uh, they are coaching youth to get better and to go
- 5:39karting and, uh, go to races.
- 5:42It started with indoor, now it's also outdoor.
- 5:45Yeah, it's great.
- 5:47Right.
- 5:47So speaking about karting, cause sometimes I ask my friend, the real driver,
- 5:53like, how do you get into motorsport?
- 5:55How do you get into real racing?
- 5:57And they always recommend you to start from karting.
- 6:01Yes.
- 6:02It's good to learn.
- 6:04It's like the start of everything.
- 6:09It doesn't have to be, but most are starting with karting, because
- 6:13you can learn very well the basic, and it's still expensive, but a bit
- 6:18less expensive than a motor racer.
- 6:21So, um, Yeah, especially when you're younger, like I was seven years old, uh,
- 6:27from sim racing I never heard back then.
- 6:29Right.
- 6:30So, uh, for me, go karting was the first step, uh, into this.
- 6:36And, uh, when I was fifteen years old, I, uh, got my racing license.
- 6:42Oh, wow.
- 6:43When you're 15, when you were 15, you already got your racing license.
- 6:48Yes, I wasn't allowed to drive on the road, but I could drive on the circuit.
- 6:52Yeah, I heard about that from some of my friends.
- 6:54Like, they started go karting from a very young age.
- 6:58And all of them saying that, yeah, I didn't have my race, uh, driving license
- 7:02back then, but I can race in the tracks.
- 7:05So you're saying that if you want to be a racer, you can start from
- 7:09the young age and you don't really need to worry about driving license
- 7:12because driving license and racing license are two different things.
- 7:17Yes, it is.
- 7:19Right.
- 7:20And you're mentioning before that, uh, you started from indoor karting,
- 7:25then go to the outdoor karting.
- 7:28Is it like everyone should start from the indoor karting or they
- 7:31can just straight to the outdoor?
- 7:33Yeah.
- 7:34You can also start from the outdoor, but I found a nice, uh, club to learn
- 7:39and I wanted to learn and I wanted to get better and I wanted to win a lot.
- 7:43So that's where I started and grew from there.
- 7:47Right, right.
- 7:49And what's the difference that you, that you see between, uh,
- 7:54indoor karting and outdoor karting?
- 7:57Is it like much of a difference?
- 7:58Um, The level is higher outdoor.
- 8:01So I was very happy when I came from Indore that I could build up
- 8:05the experience, the learning curve.
- 8:08I knew everything I needed to do.
- 8:10I knew all about racing lines, uh, in the weather because it's like
- 8:14to rain here in the Netherlands.
- 8:16So we drove in a lot of rain.
- 8:18Uh, I knew exactly what to do, uh, with the cards, with the setups, uh, and so on.
- 8:24So, it's very good to learn the basics for me, indoor, and then
- 8:29make the step outdoor with another team, and, uh, go further there.
- 8:35Uh, now I, no.
- 8:39Or now I can tell the difference, like, yeah.
- 8:42I mean, if you're doing an outdoor car thing, you have to deal with
- 8:45the weather, the changing weather.
- 8:47When, meanwhile, when indoor, you can focus on learning
- 8:51how to drive, how to race.
- 8:53Yes.
- 8:54And most of the times outdoor is going a lot quicker as well.
- 8:57Or, uh, the indoc cots are usually slower than an outdoor cot.
- 9:03Mm-Hmm.
- 9:05. Right.
- 9:06So, for everyone here watching the INIT Talks, we just
- 9:11learned something new today.
- 9:12So, if you want to get into rail racing, you can start from indoor karting.
- 9:17So, it's like the best way to learn.
- 9:19Like, it's a great way.
- 9:20It is the best way.
- 9:22Everyone does what they prefer.
- 9:24But I really like the option to learn and be prepared because I like to be prepared.
- 9:29Mm hmm.
- 9:30And then Go to the other track and go from there.
- 9:35Right.
- 9:36And now down to the next question.
- 9:39You're talking about karting.
- 9:42It's, it's something that we are doing in real life.
- 9:45We're not playing games in karting, right?
- 9:48No.
- 9:49And now that you are also doing a lot of race in the sim, Can you
- 9:54tell, like, what's the difference?
- 9:57Like the first thing that you notice, okay.
- 9:59It's the, it's so different between sim and real racing.
- 10:03So yes.
- 10:04I don't think it's good.
- 10:07There are sim racing now, because back then when I was seven, we never heard
- 10:12about sim racing and maybe there was something on a console or something,
- 10:16but not like iRacing or a set of calls.
- 10:19I can teach on a ground.
- 10:20So this was Ava.
- 10:22Uh, And so on and it's a lot cheaper than carting.
- 10:28That's for sure.
- 10:29And especially with a playstation you plug it in the tv You can sit on a chair
- 10:34or in the couch and you can sit with a controller and you can already race
- 10:39So there isn't much needed if you Want to do some sim racing on the console.
- 10:46The pc is a little bit more expensive but still is nothing compared to Go
- 10:52karting and it's a good preparation because I can learn the tracks For
- 10:59racing in the same so I know how the track goes and then I go to the the in
- 11:05real life track Then you already know.
- 11:08Okay, the Sun is going right is going left That's the turning point and it
- 11:14can be a little bit different in a racing car But at least you know how the
- 11:19track goes so it makes it easier Right.
- 11:23Cause, um, I live very close to Sonoma Raceway, and I race
- 11:27a lot in that track on the sim.
- 11:29And when I went there, when I went to the track, I arrived at the track.
- 11:33I can actually tell that, okay, that's my breaking point in the games.
- 11:38I see that sign, I need to brake right there.
- 11:40And for me, like, by looking at it, between sim and real
- 11:44life, it looks similar.
- 11:47Yes.
- 11:48Like, you can actually learn the track from the sim.
- 11:50You don't need to spend a lot of money doing a track test, track day, whatsoever.
- 11:54You can learn that from the sim, right?
- 11:57Yes.
- 11:58So, simulator giving you a really big access to real racing.
- 12:03Yes.
- 12:03And I wish I had it back then, because the first time I drove at Sunforce,
- 12:10But they have a different layout there, like the national track, the GP track.
- 12:15It was before some sports cars rebuilt for the F1s, that was way before then.
- 12:20But then we came for another track day, and I didn't have the simulator.
- 12:25So I didn't know all the other layouts.
- 12:27And we go on the track, and I had a coach next to me.
- 12:31And we didn't know, and he didn't know either, that there was a
- 12:34chicane built, and there was gravel.
- 12:37So So I came there way too quick, and I was like, oh no, this is not good.
- 12:42But I knew if I would break, I'm stuck in the gravel, I can't go
- 12:46anywhere, and it was just a little bit.
- 12:48I think 10 meters or something.
- 12:50So I just floored the throttle in, and then fingers crossed I'd come out.
- 12:55And we came out, so we were lucky there.
- 12:58But if I had a simulator back then, I would have known.
- 13:03Right.
- 13:03Yes.
- 13:04Right, right.
- 13:05So back in the day, you don't have irising or any kind of simulator?
- 13:10No.
- 13:11How did you learn the track back then?
- 13:14Uh, YouTube watching a video.
- 13:17Mm-Hmm.
- 13:18and, um, yeah, some draws there were draws of the track.
- 13:22Mm-Hmm.
- 13:23so you could know how it goes.
- 13:24Mm-Hmm.
- 13:26. And, uh, then just go on the trek and, uh, see how it goes.
- 13:30Basically.
- 13:31That sounds like a challenge, because I just started doing sim racing,
- 13:36like I just four years into it.
- 13:38And when I got into sim racing, we already have iRacing.
- 13:43It's so easy for you to find a wheelbase of pedals.
- 13:46You can just go to Amazon and get a new set of wheels.
- 13:50It's very easy in my era, but I imagine in your era back then,
- 13:55you don't have a sim racer.
- 13:56Europe as well, yeah.
- 13:58Yeah, it must be like really, really hard.
- 14:01So do, but honestly, I really adore the, I'm not, I don't want to say the old
- 14:08razor, but razor from the older era, like when they didn't have simulator, when
- 14:14everything is still limited, like all the source are limited, learning how to
- 14:19raise can be like really, really hard.
- 14:22Like there's a lot of things you need to learn on the track.
- 14:26And I feel like you need to learn and adjust everything on the fly.
- 14:32Yes, especially back then.
- 14:34But it also made it a challenge.
- 14:35It was very cool.
- 14:37Yeah, exactly.
- 14:39Oh well, hello Yukino Suzuka!
- 14:42I remember your name.
- 14:43Ah, Mika.
- 14:44From the sprint to speed winter cup on Gran Turismo.
- 14:47Right?
- 14:48Hello.
- 14:50So you did an BMX in my younger, younger years and drivers like Alexander,
- 14:55we and Colonel Brothers, you learned the racing lines and defending
- 14:59Li defending defensive lines too.
- 15:01In BMX.
- 15:03Honestly, I've.
- 15:04BMX is super, super new to me.
- 15:07I have no context about the BMX.
- 15:10So Yukino, if you don't mind sharing your experience with that,
- 15:14feel free to share in the chat and for every one of you stay tuned.
- 15:18Don't go anywhere because after having this talk with Yvonne, you
- 15:22can ask questions like any kind of question as long it's related
- 15:26to sim racing and motorsport.
- 15:29Okay, Yvonne, let's get back into our conversation.
- 15:34Speaking of accessibility and, um, pathway to get into motorsports.
- 15:40Um, do you have any experience on that?
- 15:43Like from getting it, like how, how do you manage to make it?
- 15:50To real racing because um, you're doing some racing also.
- 15:55So if you don't mind sharing with us like, um, What are the experience you got from?
- 16:01Getting into real motorsport.
- 16:03What are the challenge in motorsport in real racing speaking
- 16:07about sponsorship and stuff?
- 16:11Well, it is a challenge I have a scoliosis which means I had a surgery,
- 16:16uh, Okay when I was 13 years old.
- 16:19So my back got fixated.
- 16:22And, um, yeah, for me it was a challenge because I can't walk very well.
- 16:27So if they see me coming, uh, you think, Oh, well, she can't even walk well.
- 16:33How is she going to drive a car?
- 16:34That's already the first thing.
- 16:36And especially when I was younger, it wasn't as much,
- 16:41um, Racing with a disability.
- 16:44It wasn't much known.
- 16:46Uh, there were a set of hand controls, but it was very expensive to drive.
- 16:51And, uh, at some point, uh, I needed to stop because, uh, because of my
- 16:57disability, it's come backwards.
- 16:59I couldn't feel what I was doing with the pedals.
- 17:02And, uh, yeah, I was just getting lost basically.
- 17:06So, uh, then I stopped and due to sim racing, I got the, The
- 17:11chance, uh, by Team Red to race with them with the hand controls.
- 17:16So, uh, I've raced on Silverstone, uh, Alton Park, uh, Anglesea, a few other
- 17:24tracks, and, um, with hand controls.
- 17:29Right.
- 17:29And, uh, They are specialized in racing with a disability as well.
- 17:35And yeah, that was a great experience.
- 17:37Unfortunately, I am now having a year of a break because my
- 17:40health has gone backwards a lot.
- 17:43So I need to recover first and, uh, see some doctors more.
- 17:48And then, uh, we'll see from there.
- 17:52Right.
- 17:52So you've got a chance to do that.
- 17:55Drive in real life, edit Silverstone.
- 17:58One of the most legendary tribe in the world.
- 18:03What a great experience.
- 18:05Oh wow.
- 18:06I'm so jealous of you now.
- 18:07I want to race in real life too.
- 18:10I'm sure you can get there.
- 18:12I'm into that.
- 18:13I'm in.
- 18:14I really hope that one day I can race in real life just following your
- 18:18path, getting into real motorsports.
- 18:21That's wow.
- 18:22Will be great.
- 18:23We will cheer you on.
- 18:27You'll be in the paddock like watching me.
- 18:32. Okay, so speaking of the real track, Silverstone and stuff,
- 18:36Alton Park, what, which one is the most memorable track for you?
- 18:40I, which, or should I say which one is your most favorite
- 18:44tracks to drive in real life?
- 18:47That's difficult.
- 18:48After 10 years, the first time I was back in a racing car
- 18:52for a test was Silverstone.
- 18:55Which was already great.
- 18:57But it's not my favorite track to race on because I really love Brent's Hatch.
- 19:02It's going up and down, blind corners, and uh, yeah, I love that.
- 19:06And Anglesea as well.
- 19:09It was beautiful.
- 19:09On one side you had the mountains, on the other side you had the lake.
- 19:13It was going up and down.
- 19:15And, uh, there was also the corkscrew was in there.
- 19:18Only just the other way around, so it was laguna.
- 19:21Uh huh.
- 19:21So, uh, yeah, it was great.
- 19:24That's like an interesting track.
- 19:26I wish we had that in iRacing.
- 19:28Like, iRacing, please, scan that track.
- 19:31I wanna see the lake and the mountains.
- 19:33Yes, it's recommended.
- 19:34Yes.
- 19:35And I remember our coach saying, Don't look too much when you
- 19:38go the first time on track.
- 19:40Only in your in lap after the practice we were allowed to look around.
- 19:44So the in lap were very slow because Um, we needed to cool the car
- 19:48down but also have a Have a look around Brands hutch is the best.
- 19:55Hello sarah.
- 19:56Oh my god, sarah and girza.
- 19:59Welcome to any talk Welcome to the first episode of any talks.
- 20:02It's very nice to have you here today Girza the winner of screen to speed
- 20:07winter cup on gran turismo the first winner on gran turismo Welcome, girza.
- 20:12Welcome.
- 20:12Welcome and sarah also agree that brands hutch is the best I think Sarah
- 20:18Hawkey is an instructor at Brands Hatch.
- 20:23Or another track.
- 20:24I'm not sure.
- 20:27She probably can tell more about it soon.
- 20:30That is really cool.
- 20:30If you are the instructor in Brands Hatch, please, when I
- 20:34go to UK, please educate me.
- 20:37Please coach me.
- 20:38It's like one of my favorite track back in the day when I was racing in ACC
- 20:42because The first corner, I feel like the first turn is very, very technical,
- 20:47like it's going downhill and the breaking point, like if you miss the
- 20:50breaking point, you will end up in the grass or not the grass, the sand kind
- 20:55of thing over there, the gravel, right?
- 20:57Why do I call it sands?
- 20:59Yeah, so Brands Hatch is very, very interesting.
- 21:03And I saw that on social media.
- 21:06I think Elisa Seville, the girl who raced in the screen to speed.
- 21:10I think she raced in, um, International Women's Day, if I'm not mistaken.
- 21:16And in the Invitational back in December 2023.
- 21:21She just had a race in Brands Hatch, I believe, in the MX 5, and wow.
- 21:27I want to see that track in real life one day.
- 21:31It is recommended, it is good.
- 21:34I'm an, I'm a super car instructor at Brands Hatch and few other tracks.
- 21:38Oh, wow.
- 21:39Sarah.
- 21:39Wow.
- 21:40That's really, really amazing.
- 21:42Wow.
- 21:43Wow.
- 21:44Sarah, one thing for sure.
- 21:45I will contact you when I go to any rest track in the UK and maybe you
- 21:52can coach me next time, me and Yvonne.
- 21:55And Girza said that people who race with disabilities are a badass.
- 22:00It makes me so happy to see.
- 22:02I mean, I personally, I really adore you.
- 22:05I really adore you, Yvonne.
- 22:07Like from the very first time I met you in the more female
- 22:10racers, you were in the pro class.
- 22:12And back in the day I was in the AM class.
- 22:14So I'm still a newbie back then.
- 22:17And I really look up to you.
- 22:19Like you're fast.
- 22:20You're fast.
- 22:20Like, I really look up to you and I'm so happy that we become friends
- 22:25now and we did some race together.
- 22:28Yes, we did.
- 22:29In iRacing, yeah.
- 22:31Yeah, that's good fun.
- 22:33You are a lot quicker now than you was back then, so that's good.
- 22:38Thank you very much.
- 22:39I'm trying my best to keep on improving.
- 22:42Like, you know, honestly, I'm Every time I'm seeing the girls racing
- 22:46in the screen to speed I watch the broadcast sometimes and You can tell
- 22:51these girls are so fast and really really competitive I mean, especially
- 22:55if you look into the Winter Cup, the battle is always like full of Bianca
- 23:00and Nina like I Learned how to take a defensive line and I learned how to okay.
- 23:06That's how you do a race from that series Like wow, I want to be like you
- 23:11girls one day like Being fast compete like start in the front row and keep on
- 23:17competing like wow So if any one of you want to compete in the screen to speed
- 23:24Congratulations, we just opened the registration not like we just open it.
- 23:28We already open it since last week something like that So if you're looking
- 23:32for a competitive league for female feel free to join the screen to speed
- 23:37You can register on screen to speed.
- 23:39com and i'll see you on the track Oh my God.
- 23:44Yes, Sarah.
- 23:45Oh my God.
- 23:46And even speaking of real racing, let's talk a bit about real racing.
- 23:52Um, I did some carting back in the day in North America and I, what I
- 23:59notice, uh, the difference between simulator and real life is that when
- 24:04I'm entering the one corner, I can tell if I'm going too fast in real life.
- 24:09Meanwhile, I don't really feel that.
- 24:11in simracing is how do you what do you think about that is it like quite
- 24:16accurate or not i think it's also depending on the equipment you have
- 24:22if you have a direct drive you can feel a lot more and especially a lot
- 24:26more in the details uh of from the car what it's doing um if you don't have a
- 24:33direct drive Then you feel a lot less.
- 24:36It's, uh, you just feel like this, but you don't feel what, what the car does.
- 24:42Mm-Hmm.
- 24:43. And, uh, I think with a, a dd it comes a little bit closer to real racing, but
- 24:50real racing, you can feel it with your back, uh, with your, but yeah, you can
- 24:55feel it more when you sit it in and in a simulator or you have a full motion, but.
- 25:01Well, I don't have a full motion.
- 25:02I think most of the people don't have that.
- 25:04Yeah, true.
- 25:05Um, you don't feel exactly the same what's happening in a, in real life and
- 25:12the uttering and everything that comes with, uh, it's, I think the difference
- 25:19that I feel when I was like doing this carting kind of thing is that,
- 25:24yeah, I can really feel on my back and on my butt when I'm going too fast.
- 25:28Okay.
- 25:29I can feel it like, okay, it's too fast for me.
- 25:31Okay.
- 25:32Or if I'm going too slow, I can feel it like, okay, I'm too slow.
- 25:35I can get back on throttle like really quick.
- 25:38Meanwhile, in simulator, I feel like I really need to depend on my eyes on this,
- 25:43like eyes on the screen to see if I'm going too fast or if I'm going too slow.
- 25:49And what I like about real racing is that you are feeling more
- 25:53details than in the simulator.
- 25:55Like, yeah.
- 25:57Yeah, Yukino, Road America.
- 26:00It's one of my favorite tracks in United States.
- 26:03It's like one of my, one of the most beautiful place
- 26:07in America is Road America.
- 26:10And Yvonne, what about you?
- 26:11What, is there any favorite tracks?
- 26:15That you like is there any tracks that you like in the simulator?
- 26:19Let's talk about semen Oh in in the simulator.
- 26:22Yes bizarre I love it.
- 26:25Um now it's also my racing so i'm very excited to race at bizarro
- 26:33But on ACC, I have many and many hours on that track.
- 26:38You can cut everywhere and it's just a lot in the details.
- 26:42And if I had the speed that I have there on that track, on every
- 26:47track, that would have been amazing.
- 26:50And what makes you like that track?
- 26:54Just that it flows well.
- 26:56Just when I drive it, I get in the flow and then, uh, it's, uh
- 27:01Yeah, it's just a great track.
- 27:03Huh, because I think for me, uh, Misano the first, uh, the first turn is like
- 27:09going There's like a small chicane kind of thing like right left Yes, but you
- 27:15can cut a lot and little tap on the brake in the middle cut again Yes I think
- 27:23your type of favorite track is totally different than my type of favorite
- 27:27track Maybe because our driving style is different Mine is Road America and Sonoma.
- 27:34I thought you were going to come with a cute oval.
- 27:38We are talking about the road track.
- 27:41We are talking about the road track.
- 27:43We will talk about the oval, maybe later.
- 27:48But I really want to get back into road racing because road
- 27:52racing has its own challenge.
- 27:54The way you break, the way you like, I don't know.
- 27:57It's just quite different for me.
- 27:59And yes, it is Yep, especially because in road racing you have more corners
- 28:06than when you are racing in oval I mean oval is just oval Like this, right?
- 28:10Yeah, but you say it's just oval, but oval racing, there comes a lot with it.
- 28:16It's still difficult with the brake and, and if you apply too much brake,
- 28:21uh, the wheels just looks up and you have all kinds of flat spots and, uh,
- 28:26yes, uh, then it's going to be a long stint if you need to drive a stint.
- 28:30Yep.
- 28:31And I like also the tactics because, um, um, yeah, I like the tactics in a race.
- 28:37Uh, which side should I take, uh, the strategy, uh, when do I stop, uh,
- 28:44I want to get back in the lead lap.
- 28:46That was really invitational.
- 28:47I was getting the lap back, so I came back into the race and, uh, yeah, it's
- 28:56what I like about, um, overall racing is, uh, totally different than road racing.
- 29:03I feel like oval is like a different world than road racing.
- 29:07Yes.
- 29:08Like the way you drive and you really depend on the draft and the way you make a
- 29:13pass is totally different than when you're trying to make a pass in road racing.
- 29:18It's not like you can just take different line and hoping that you will make
- 29:21a pass, you know, like it's, it's a different way to race in my opinion,
- 29:27like within oval and road racing.
- 29:30And even yes, it is for you as European.
- 29:34How do you see awful racing?
- 29:36Oh, I love it.
- 29:37It's a bonus person, by the way.
- 29:39. . I love it.
- 29:40I hope I can do it sometime in real life because I really like it.
- 29:45Uh, we have had a nascar, uh, we first only had a Cup series, and
- 29:49now I think since one or two years ago, we can also see the Xfinity
- 29:53series and the track series.
- 29:54Mm-Hmm.
- 29:55. So every weekend nowadays we have nascar IndyCar.
- 29:59On TV and yeah, I love to watch it.
- 30:03It's most of the time it's late evening, so when the Gran Turismo
- 30:077 is ended, the races, as we are done, then we go watch the TV, watch
- 30:13some good NASCAR and then go to bed.
- 30:16Imagine like watching the NASCAR race before going to bed.
- 30:19Yes.
- 30:21Oh, wow.
- 30:22I mean, not like this is the first time I'm seeing someone who actually
- 30:26loved doing oval, my European friend that actually loving oval.
- 30:30Welcome to the club.
- 30:32Thank you.
- 30:33Thank you.
- 30:34Oh, I would love to.
- 30:36Wow.
- 30:37We should do some.
- 30:38Yes, it is.
- 30:38It isn't a race.
- 30:41That's because you really need to have a lot of practice.
- 30:44Uh, to be fast in the whole stint, in the whole race, instead of over one or two
- 30:50laps and then you get a drop off, uh, it takes a lot of practice to, to get there.
- 30:56True.
- 30:57And I feel like in oval, let's talk about racing oval in the simulator.
- 31:02It's um, I feel like every time I get into the oval race, it's all about surviving.
- 31:08Like you go on survival mode.
- 31:09Yes.
- 31:09Absolutely.
- 31:10Like, you have to learn how to survive, make it to the end.
- 31:15I think, I think that's when I learned that racing is more than, um, trying
- 31:21to push, trying to be fast, trying to be in front as much as you want.
- 31:26Yes.
- 31:26But sometimes you have to, like, wait in the mid path and read your opponent.
- 31:32Like, it's a different game.
- 31:35Yes, it is different and it's surviving.
- 31:38And then the last, uh, 20 laps or 30 laps, it's all goes out and goes for the win.
- 31:44Mm hmm.
- 31:45And I feel like in Oval, you are racing the drivers.
- 31:48Especially in iRacing, because I believe between Toyota, Chevrolet, and Ford, they
- 31:54are running the same machinery, like in iRacing, so basically everyone is driving
- 31:59an equal car, not like you're having like an OP car that fast at the straight,
- 32:04meanwhile the other is not really fast.
- 32:06So, for me overall, it really teach me how to race.
- 32:10Yes.
- 32:11Yes.
- 32:13Yeah, and Yvonne, is there any memorable event in sim racing for you?
- 32:21What I remember from the past, you mean?
- 32:24Like any memorable event
- 32:29I did a lot to be honest, a lot of series, a lot of endurance racing, uh with
- 32:35Sophie and uh, Sarah Dove Sarah Johnson, Alatea Uh, we drove a lot together and,
- 32:45uh, yeah, we still do endurance racing because it's what I like the best.
- 32:50Endurance.
- 32:52Endurance.
- 32:52Yes.
- 32:53That's interesting.
- 32:55You like the endurance.
- 32:56You like a long race.
- 32:58Yes.
- 32:58Rather than doing like a heat race, really fast, 10 minutes, 15 minutes.
- 33:05Hmm.
- 33:06I like when a bit of strategy comes involved and the weather changes
- 33:10and, uh, you know, Well, just driving with a team is also great.
- 33:15We help each other, we spend a lot of time together.
- 33:18Uh, yes, it's, I like it.
- 33:21It's something special.
- 33:23Right.
- 33:24Oh, yes.
- 33:25I, I remember you, Maika.
- 33:27We, we meet each other for the first time with the Diamond Drive Cup.
- 33:31Oh.
- 33:32And, um, and then I heard her talking, I think during the
- 33:36briefing or something, I think.
- 33:37Oh, she is dutch, that's great.
- 33:39So we connected right away because that's good.
- 33:43Another dutch writer That's good.
- 33:46And uh, I I saw sophia also for the first time due to that diamond
- 33:52life So diamond drive cup Right.
- 33:56Hey sharon.
- 33:57I think it was like back in 2020 2021 I think, yeah, or
- 34:05something like that before.
- 34:08Hi Sharon.
- 34:09Oh my God.
- 34:10Another one.
- 34:11Another GT seven drivers.
- 34:13Hi Sharon.
- 34:14It's very nice to have you here today.
- 34:16Welcome in.
- 34:17Welcome.
- 34:17Welcome in your time here.
- 34:18You're very awesome.
- 34:2121.
- 34:22Right.
- 34:22I feel like time flies so fast.
- 34:24Like I started fundraising.
- 34:26Yeah.
- 34:26It's pretty fast.
- 34:26In 2020, I got into the more female racers.
- 34:30I think we met in more female racers back in 2021 or 22, and now it's like 20, 24.
- 34:37Like time flies so fast.
- 34:39Yeah.
- 34:39I think you joined in season three, I think four.
- 34:43Season four.
- 34:44I was four.
- 34:44Yeah.
- 34:46I was in season four and it was like, back in the day, it was like a one hour race.
- 34:50I think we did like a one hour race with teammates.
- 34:54Yeah.
- 34:55Ah, yes.
- 34:56Yeah.
- 34:56Yep.
- 34:57I think that was my first, um, experience.
- 35:01Competitive simracing event for female like first time I get I'm getting into
- 35:06the female Simracing league and honestly right now I'm super super happy because
- 35:13now here in in it eSports We are having a regular screen to speed event I can
- 35:17say like it's regular because every time this show is done The event is
- 35:21done we straight into the other one.
- 35:23We straight to the next one.
- 35:25Keep on doing it You know, yes, and I feel like we need more Um, sim racing
- 35:31event for a woman, because at least for me as a woman, I feel like I feel
- 35:36kind of awkward to get into, um, a new league and full of strangers.
- 35:42And for me, I prefer to talk with girls, like, you know, So, I think what we are
- 35:50doing right now here in Innit Esports, here in Screen2Speed, we are doing a
- 35:54really great job to meet more women, to invite more women, to get into the
- 36:00competition because, again, not everybody wants to throw themselves into the race,
- 36:05like high level, straight into it, right?
- 36:09So yeah, everyone, once again, if you, if you are looking for a sim racing
- 36:14league for female, join the screen to speed spring cup and learn more on www.
- 36:21screen2speed.
- 36:22com.
- 36:22And don't forget to follow us on social media at init esports and screen to speed,
- 36:28because we are working, we are cooking on a lot of fun things on social media,
- 36:33and hopefully we can Keep on, you know, like bringing more women into more sports.
- 36:40More endurance.
- 36:41Should we do a screen to speed endurance series?
- 36:44How about that?
- 36:46Would you join, Yvonne?
- 36:48I would like to.
- 36:49Yes, I love some good endurance racing.
- 36:52Yep.
- 36:53What?
- 36:53Okay.
- 36:54I think I can ask you this question.
- 36:58What are the challenges in the endurance race?
- 37:01Other than changing weather and stuff like that?
- 37:06Staying consistent.
- 37:09It's a challenge.
- 37:10I'm good with that.
- 37:11That's why I like the endurance race.
- 37:13My pace is sometimes not as quick as the quickest.
- 37:16But because I'm driving very consistent.
- 37:19It levels out, basically.
- 37:22It's getting ego, a bit more ego.
- 37:25I don't know how you say that well in English.
- 37:27But, uh, yes, I think that's the key.
- 37:31Consistency is the key.
- 37:33Keeping the car on track.
- 37:36Right.
- 37:36And stay consistent.
- 37:38So, in the endurance race, because sometimes when I'm asking, A question
- 37:44to someone, to the pro player, like, how, how to be good in simracing?
- 37:49Yeah, you have to be fast, you have to keep on pushing.
- 37:52Meanwhile, it, that thing doesn't always work in the endurance, right?
- 37:57No, if, if you are very fast, and one of the fastest on track, but you
- 38:03in, you're in the wall two times and have a 15 minutes repair on iRacing,
- 38:09then you have no chance to win.
- 38:13Then you can be the fastest all race, but the longer you spend in pit
- 38:18lane, the more you're losing time.
- 38:21That's a good point.
- 38:23So endurance and sprint race is like two different things.
- 38:27Meanwhile, I think in sprint race you can keep on pushing
- 38:29because the race is a lot shorter.
- 38:31It means that you need to push if you want to gain position.
- 38:35Yes, then you need to push.
- 38:37Yes, it is.
- 38:39Right.
- 38:41And by the way, speaking of your other profession, other than being
- 38:46a sim racer and IRL driver, you're mentioning earlier that you are also
- 38:52a community manager and based on the list of experience that you gave me,
- 38:59you are also the team manager, right?
- 39:03Can you tell me a bit about your story as a team manager?
- 39:07Well, I'm a co founder with Sophie from United Sim Team.
- 39:11And, uh, we rebranded E Team Brits back then, basically.
- 39:17And it's great to give our drivers the opportunity to race, to learn from each
- 39:21other, to basically have the USC family.
- 39:25And, uh, Yeah, it's great to do and share our passion with them and they
- 39:32are also sharing it further out.
- 39:35So that's great.
- 39:36And yeah, eSports has started before the Las Vegas event,
- 39:43I think in the end of 2022.
- 39:47And yeah, it's great.
- 39:49My health went backwards.
- 39:52And yeah, I just wanted to help and share my passion and
- 39:57Stephie gave me this opportunity.
- 39:58amazing opportunity and I'm still doing it every day and it's great to do.
- 40:05Is there any challenge or any obstacle that you got as a community manager?
- 40:12As in like, what are the challenge on handling people or managing people?
- 40:18I mean, you don't have to be like, uh, very brutally open on that, but
- 40:24just telling me like in general, like, Because I assume that handling
- 40:28people can be a challenge sometimes.
- 40:32It sometimes is, but you get also so much back from it.
- 40:37Uh, a lot of the drivers are very grateful and very exciting.
- 40:42Uh, so having the opportunity to get the highlights and, um, yeah, that,
- 40:48that's where, why I want to do this.
- 40:51I want to help them and help them grow further into sim racing.
- 40:56Um, And also to be there for them and show what is possible.
- 41:02And that's the same with my disability.
- 41:05I love to help people.
- 41:06If I, if my, uh, telling my story help for others, even if I can just
- 41:11help one that will be already great.
- 41:15Of course, I want to help a lot more.
- 41:17That's step by step.
- 41:19And, uh, yes, that's the, the goal.
- 41:23How about us?
- 41:24Be there for them, give them the chance to shine.
- 41:27You are doing a great job, like, in this community, like, you're helping
- 41:33a lot of people, you are encouraging a lot of people, because I was driving
- 41:37with you in one event, and I remember that the way you taught me about
- 41:42track, you sent me the track guide.
- 41:44I remember that in the MFR, like you sent me the track guide, and also
- 41:48that when I was like having a really big issue with my PC, you decided
- 41:54to, okay, I will take over this car.
- 41:56I will drive.
- 41:57I know that our car is broken, but you keep on driving.
- 42:01I think that is one thing that I learned from you.
- 42:04Like, no matter what happens, you have to keep on going.
- 42:07You have to finish your race.
- 42:09You have to commit.
- 42:10Like, you are in this race.
- 42:13You have to finish it.
- 42:14No matter what are the challenges is.
- 42:17Yes.
- 42:18Never give up.
- 42:19Inspiration, but also in life.
- 42:21Never give up.
- 42:22That's the key.
- 42:23Yeah.
- 42:24I'm honestly.
- 42:26In my sim racing journey, I must say that I wouldn't be here without you.
- 42:33I mean, I know that I, I don't normally say this and maybe you don't hear this
- 42:38from me all this time, but I wouldn't be here competing, keep on competing
- 42:43if, I mean, thanks to you, really.
- 42:47Thanks to you.
- 42:48Well, thank you.
- 42:48I'm happy you're still competing because it's great to watch you and you have
- 42:53a lot of passion for it and, uh, you show it on your face as well very well.
- 42:58And if you watch your streams, they are, uh, getting also that passion
- 43:03you can feel with and that's good.
- 43:05I like that.
- 43:06Yeah.
- 43:07I mean, thanks to you.
- 43:10Cause I remember that you are the one approaching to me.
- 43:14On discord.
- 43:15I still remember that like three four years ago.
- 43:18You text me like hey, do you wanna drive with us?
- 43:20Do you wanna this that and it means a lot to me back then as a newbie in simracing
- 43:25I feel so accepted in the community.
- 43:28Yeah, but that's what I like, especially when you're new in simracing You're not
- 43:33sure how it all works where to find series Like Sharon I found her on Twitch Uh,
- 43:40for the Winter Cup on Gran Turismo 7.
- 43:43She never drove an online race before.
- 43:46Uh, we've practiced with her and now she is gonna do the Spring Cup as well.
- 43:51And she's getting better every week.
- 43:53Wow.
- 43:53And that's just great to, to see.
- 43:57Yeah, I think it's beautiful to see people grow.
- 44:01You know?
- 44:01Giving them the opportunity is the best way I can do.
- 44:04Mm hmm.
- 44:05Wow.
- 44:06I cannot, I don't know.
- 44:08I cannot thank you like thank you is not enough to me because you push me to keep
- 44:14on doing it like you want to race with me.
- 44:16Do you want to race with us in the 24 hours of spa?
- 44:19That was our first endurance.
- 44:21Oh, yes.
- 44:24And after that, um.
- 44:27Um, you invited me to race in the VCO 10 hours of Suzuka and that
- 44:33were, that moment it was only two of us racing in 10 hours race.
- 44:38So each of us driving five hours, right?
- 44:42Yes.
- 44:42It was good fun.
- 44:43It was such an honor for me to drive with you, Yvonne.
- 44:46Because I see you as my senior in sim racing and to be driving with someone
- 44:52that I adore most is like wow wow I keep on telling my friends and my family
- 44:56back then that I'll be racing with her she's my senior in the competition like
- 45:02that right I mean oh wow I feel like you whatever you do you're doing great in
- 45:10this community and we need more people like you Yvonne Because there's a lot
- 45:18of people who want to drive, but not a lot of people want to be the community
- 45:23manager, you know, not everybody having a passion on that, I must say.
- 45:31Well, to be honest, for some time, I liked it even more than driving in the sim,
- 45:36because my health went so much backwards and, uh, Uh, Just wasn't well enough
- 45:42to race in the same, and that I could do this and give odys the opportunity,
- 45:47that was the best thing that I could do.
- 45:50Mm-Hmm?
- 45:51. Oh, wow.
- 45:52Yeah.
- 45:53I mean, I cannot, I don't know.
- 45:56Thank you.
- 45:57Is not enough, you know, but again, it is, it's, it's all good.
- 46:02. I'm so grateful.
- 46:04To get a chance to actually know you in person, we met, we met in Detroit
- 46:09back then, and now we are here having a talk, sharing about your experience
- 46:15in rail racing, sim racing, and I know from your perspective about, uh, being
- 46:21a community manager, because I don't think I can do that, to be honest.
- 46:27I like to help people and talk with them.
- 46:29So, uh, it's great.
- 46:33Yeah.
- 46:33And here, um, Maika, I think.
- 46:35Yukino is Maika, right?
- 46:38Yes.
- 46:39That's what she did to me too in Diamond Drive Co op.
- 46:43See?
- 46:44You're helping a lot of people.
- 46:45You're not just helping one person.
- 46:46That's right.
- 46:48I try.
- 46:49I try to help everyone.
- 46:50That's right.
- 46:53And, um, before we get into the Q& A session, is there any message that
- 47:00you want to share with everyone out there who got, who has disability
- 47:05and they want to do sim racing or they want to do like real racing?
- 47:09Is there any words of wisdom?
- 47:11Please, please message us because we can help you.
- 47:15I can eSports as well.
- 47:19And, um, There are many possibilities to go into sim racing, into racing,
- 47:25uh, I can invite, uh, advise what you need, or, uh, if you just want to
- 47:32have someone to talk, uh, talk about your disability or something like
- 47:36that, feel free to send a message.
- 47:39Right.
- 47:40So we are creating a safe space for a woman in sim racing.
- 47:45We need more, we need more people.
- 47:49To get into sim racing more female.
- 47:52So if any of you guys here watching the stream and you know, some girls who like
- 47:58to drive in simulator and they might be thinking, but is there any, uh, sim
- 48:04racing league dedicated for a woman?
- 48:06You can, you can share the screen to speed.
- 48:09com.
- 48:10You can share the event to your friends, to your family.
- 48:13So hopefully we keep on seeing new faces in the, in our series.
- 48:18Right.
- 48:18Cause I feel like regeneration is really important.
- 48:21Like, um, keep having new people joining, you know, and by the way,
- 48:28speaking of the safe space, I would like to share you our discord link.
- 48:33So feel free to join everyone.
- 48:35We are, um, Oh, I cannot share the link here.
- 48:39Okay.
- 48:39I can share.
- 48:42Okay.
- 48:42Could you share the link?
- 48:43In the chat, so everyone who wants to join can click on the link and I will
- 48:50see you on discord Hey, by the way, Micah and Sharon and everyone here.
- 48:57If you have question to simracing and motorsports, feel free to Feel free
- 49:04to send it in the chat All right, here we go So, um, Yvonne, while we
- 49:12are waiting for anyone in the chat to ask questions, I think I will
- 49:18have a few more questions for you.
- 49:22Okay.
- 49:23Right, so, um, speaking about real racing, uh, which car did you drive in real life?
- 49:30Uh, I drove in the, um, In the Volkswagen Scirocco and also, uh, in the Citroën C1.
- 49:41Citroen C1.
- 49:42Right, right.
- 49:44Have you tried, um, because I've seen this, uh, on the, on the story here.
- 49:49Um, you're saying that, uh, back in the day you did the testing
- 49:53with the BMW E30 and the Suzuki.
- 49:56Yes, that was the, The first car that I version on Trek was A-B-M-W-E 30.
- 50:03I loved that car.
- 50:04And the same car is now on grand charisma seven.
- 50:07So Sophie made me a beautiful united, same Ry Oh wow.
- 50:12For that car, see?
- 50:13Yes.
- 50:14Wow.
- 50:15Yes.
- 50:15It's race and the Suzuki Swift.
- 50:17Uh, I, I had that car back in the day when it was really, really hype and I
- 50:22must say that it is a good car to drive.
- 50:24Like really, really good car.
- 50:26Fun car to drive.
- 50:29Yes, it was good fun.
- 50:31Yep.
- 50:32Wow.
- 50:33Well, I mean, honestly, you got so much experience in drill
- 50:39racing and sim racing also.
- 50:42Like, wow.
- 50:44Are you still learning new things until today?
- 50:47I, I learn every time I learn new things.
- 50:50And that's what I like about it as well.
- 50:54You can learn so much.
- 50:57And I always like to learn, so, uh, yeah, that's good, and every little
- 51:04bit that you can learn, it can make you just that little bit faster, or just a
- 51:07little bit more, uh, uh, Oh, I'm losing it now, consistent, sorry, um, just a
- 51:18little bit more consistent, that's good.
- 51:22Right, so everyday you're learning, doesn't matter if
- 51:26you're already doing simracing for 10 years, 5 years, or even 20.
- 51:31I've started simracing in 2015, so 9 years this year.
- 51:38So, you never, uh, learn, uh, learn enough, basically.
- 51:45You never stop learning.
- 51:48Right.
- 51:51Oh, cool.
- 51:52There we go.
- 51:53Michael got a question for both of us.
- 51:57Question to both.
- 51:58Uh, you mentioned before One Mix Race.
- 52:00Which series, not NASCAR, would you like to race?
- 52:03Yvonne knows mine.
- 52:04Okay, Yvonne, you answer first.
- 52:07Well, I would love, uh, the 24 Hours at the Nordschleife.
- 52:12It's definitely something I would love to race.
- 52:16Uh, also the 24 hour NMR, of course, as well, uh, the, the WEC
- 52:22season, uh, WEC series, W E C.
- 52:26It's also amazing.
- 52:27I like the endurance racing, so yeah.
- 52:30Wow.
- 52:30You are really the endurance queen.
- 52:32You are the endurance queen.
- 52:36Okay, for me, Maike, which series, not NASCAR, series other than
- 52:41NASCAR that I would like to do?
- 52:43Hmm.
- 52:44It's a hard question because I put all my love in NASCAR, even if I
- 52:48want to race in real life one day.
- 52:50I want to race in NASCAR when I get into the Arca series as a start.
- 52:56But maybe if I become a road racer, maybe.
- 53:01Maybe I will take the MX 5 Cup.
- 53:03It's so fun to drive.
- 53:05It's always close racing.
- 53:06And, yeah, my goal in road racing is to race the MX 5.
- 53:11Like, compete in one full season of the MX 5 Cups.
- 53:16I like driving a short, uh, like a slow car.
- 53:19Cause for me, one thing for sure, GT3 car will be like too fast for me.
- 53:24If you put me in the GT3 car in real life, I would crash.
- 53:27You know?
- 53:28You know?
- 53:30And Sean, is there any sim racing game that feels more
- 53:34like real life racing to you?
- 53:36Yvonne, a question for you.
- 53:39I'm using a direct drive wheel, so in my opinion when I have everything set
- 53:44up perfectly, iRacing comes the closest.
- 53:48But I really love the graphics on ACC or Gran Turismo.
- 53:53If you look to Gran Turismo streams, the broadcasts of our events.
- 53:58It looks perfect.
- 54:00So, yeah, if they could combine it in some way all together in one game.
- 54:05It would be perfect.
- 54:06That would be amazing, yeah.
- 54:08So, iRacing is still your sim of choice?
- 54:11Speaking of the realistic.
- 54:14The feel, with the base in the game.
- 54:19Mm hmm.
- 54:20The, the, the feel, what you get back in the steering wheel.
- 54:25Mm hmm.
- 54:26It feels for me more realistic than Frontierismo or ACC or Aerofactor 2.
- 54:31But it also depends on which equipment you're using.
- 54:36Right, right, right.
- 54:39RaceRoom has the best sounds.
- 54:42RaceRoom.
- 54:43I never tried RaceRoom.
- 54:44Have you tried RaceRoom before, Ethan?
- 54:46I tried it before.
- 54:48I can't remember when it was.
- 54:50It's quite some time ago.
- 54:52But I don't think I still have it.
- 54:54I think the base one is for free, I thought.
- 54:59I need to have a look.
- 55:01Right.
- 55:03I think for me, uh, Yvonne and Chad, I think most of the
- 55:07time I only race in iRacing.
- 55:10A bit of ACC back in the day when I was still active competing,
- 55:14but now I'm more like in iRacing.
- 55:18And I don't think it's like, still my sim of choice until now.
- 55:23Speaking of, I can feel the tires, even though that I'm not
- 55:27using a direct drive, I can feel.
- 55:30And, yeah, maybe the second one will be ACC for me.
- 55:36Speaking of the PC games, okay?
- 55:39But, I think for console games, I think I'm still loving the Gran Turismo.
- 55:47Again, because of the graphics, it's so beautiful, and I think sometimes
- 55:53people like, yeah, you don't have to play Gran Turismo, we learned that,
- 55:56uh, we heard that sometimes, right?
- 55:58Like, yeah, you go to iRacing, straight to it, you know?
- 56:02But I think for me, Gran Turismo is the best game, or
- 56:07sim, to start doing sim racing.
- 56:10Yes.
- 56:10Yes.
- 56:10Yes.
- 56:11Yes, Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport, that's especially
- 56:18to start with sim racing, it's a lot less cost to get racing.
- 56:23So, you need a console and a controller and you can just sit in front of
- 56:29your TV or a screen, what you've got.
- 56:32You plug it all in and you're good to go.
- 56:36Right as you can already race you can already compete if you want to
- 56:40and of course you can have a rake and a And a great wheel as well
- 56:44for forza motorsports or grand turismo 7 but Um, it's not needed.
- 56:51It's not necessary as for pc racing It's just possible with a controller,
- 56:58but to be good, especially in endurance races, to be consistent,
- 57:04that's so much better on the wheel.
- 57:08So if anyone here want to start getting into sim racing, is it like a
- 57:14requirement to get a set of wheel and a rig as a start, or are you saying
- 57:19that starting with controller is fine?
- 57:24If you start on the PlayStation or Xbox with a controller, you can start,
- 57:29you can race in our series on the Gran Turismo 7, and we can help you, uh, and
- 57:35you can get experience into racing, you can practice with all of us, uh, who
- 57:41are there, and, uh, yeah, it's great.
- 57:46Right, right, right.
- 57:47So.
- 57:48Guys, it's not a requirement to get a fancy set up if you
- 57:53want to start doing sim racing.
- 57:55Cause again, you can just start from the PlayStation using a
- 57:59controller, uh, learn about the line, learn how to ride, how to drive.
- 58:04Then if you are into it, then you can start making an upgrade on your setup.
- 58:10Gran Turismo is especially good if you find a small community
- 58:15with friends and weekly races.
- 58:17That's how I got into it about 15 years ago.
- 58:21Wow.
- 58:21Uh, wow.
- 58:22A lot of senior here.
- 58:24I feel like a newbie here.
- 58:28You've been doing seam raising for 15 years.
- 58:33That's amazing, Micah.
- 58:34That's really amazing.
- 58:36Team motion controls right here.
- 58:38Wait, are you still, uh, are you racing with a controller in, in the, in the
- 58:43winter cup is She showed me how to do it.
- 58:47You have the controller in your hands and you're steering like this.
- 58:51Like an, I've tried it as well.
- 58:54Oh, wow.
- 58:57You are amazing.
- 58:59Cause I watched the replay of the broadcast and I saw you sometimes
- 59:04in the race and I can't believe you're racing with controller.
- 59:08See another controller player that can actually compete.
- 59:13Wow.
- 59:14Yes.
- 59:17So, again, you don't need a fancy wheel to start simracing.
- 59:23All you need is passion to start doing it.
- 59:29And even Another question.
- 59:32Anyway, guys, feel free to ask questions, feel free to ask questions.
- 59:36So Yvonne, our guest of the day, but again, before we, while we are waiting
- 59:41for, um, questions to come in the chat, I want to ask you here, since
- 59:46we are talking about getting into sim racing, if someone wants to get into
- 59:51sim racing, want to learn how to drive, what do they need to learn first?
- 59:58Well, it also depends on the game.
- 1:00:01Let's say you are very small.
- 1:00:03Uh, you need to learn how the controller works.
- 1:00:06Because, uh, when I held the first time a controller in my
- 1:00:09hands, I thought, okay, nice.
- 1:00:11And now?
- 1:00:12So, you need to learn how the button's working, uh, the
- 1:00:16joystick, I think you're saying.
- 1:00:18Yeah.
- 1:00:18And, uh, the throttle and the brake, I have it then on the back.
- 1:00:21Yep.
- 1:00:21Um, You need to learn how it all works, and then just start on a track
- 1:00:27maybe that you already know that's possible, you see it in real life,
- 1:00:30you know how the tracks roughly goes.
- 1:00:32You put the racing line on, put the assist on in the beginning,
- 1:00:36and just learn how the track goes.
- 1:00:38You don't have to, uh, be quick right away.
- 1:00:43You can build it up.
- 1:00:44Practice is key.
- 1:00:46So, you start slowly and practice and build up the speed.
- 1:00:51And then you can go into races if you like, or with a community, or just with
- 1:00:56some friends, it's all great to do.
- 1:01:00So, I think for learning how to compete, how to start competing in
- 1:01:07simracing, you're recommending us to start from a small community race?
- 1:01:14Wow.
- 1:01:15It, it depends what you want.
- 1:01:17Uh, I sometimes throw myself into the deep and just do it, and we'll
- 1:01:22see how we, you, how I get on.
- 1:01:25But I can understand that some, uh, ladies or, or drivers thinking, well, start
- 1:01:31small, learn, get a bit of the groove, uh, experience how it is to race in the
- 1:01:36sim, and then we go to something bigger.
- 1:01:40Uh, I understand both sides.
- 1:01:44Right.
- 1:01:44So it depends on, um, how, how are you learning things?
- 1:01:48If you are the type of person who likes to, okay, just throw myself
- 1:01:52into the competition, then do it.
- 1:01:55But if you feel like you don't have enough confidence on the track, starting from the
- 1:02:02community league is a great way to start.
- 1:02:05Yes.
- 1:02:07Right.
- 1:02:08And Sean asking a question.
- 1:02:10Have you seen the Gran Turismo movie?
- 1:02:12If so, what did you think of it?
- 1:02:14Yvonne, have you watched the movie?
- 1:02:16To be honest with you, I haven't watched it.
- 1:02:19Luckily, Soph said today it is on Netflix.
- 1:02:23So, we need to watch it sometime.
- 1:02:25When we have some time in the evening, we're gonna watch the movie.
- 1:02:29Yeah, same here, Sean.
- 1:02:31I haven't got a chance to watch the Gran Turismo movie, but I watched
- 1:02:36the NASCAR Full Speed on Netflix, the documentary, and The Drive to Survive.
- 1:02:41Maybe I'm more like, I prefer watching a documentary than
- 1:02:45watching a movie, I think.
- 1:02:47What about you, Yvonne?
- 1:02:49Yes, it's shorter.
- 1:02:52Yeah.
- 1:02:53I think, yeah, I think for us, it's shorter.
- 1:02:55I must say for us, we prefer watching a documentary than watching a movie.
- 1:03:00But it doesn't mean that we are not going to watch the Gran Turismo, but We are
- 1:03:04gonna watch it when we have some time.
- 1:03:06We're gonna sit down and watch it.
- 1:03:08Yeah, I just haven't got a chance to watch it because I just moved to California.
- 1:03:13We are still, like, I'm still, like, cleaning stuff.
- 1:03:16I haven't, I haven't got TV here in my gaming room.
- 1:03:20It should have a TV right there So maybe I can watch the grand turismo in the
- 1:03:24gaming room, but it's just that I haven't got a chance to do it You have seen it
- 1:03:29but you're not a fan of it And oh a mix a mix review on the chat one One person
- 1:03:38likes it one person saying that not a fan of the grand turismo movie But I think
- 1:03:44it's like based on the true story, right?
- 1:03:46I I mean, I read a bit about the movie preview on the internet somewhere.
- 1:03:54I think it's, it's like based on a true story about a sim racer
- 1:03:58who wants to be a real racer.
- 1:04:01So by the movie, I'm assuming that, um, it's, you can find your
- 1:04:08way to motorsport from sim racing.
- 1:04:14Hey, hello!
- 1:04:16UnitedSim Team Andre.
- 1:04:17Andre, welcome to the first episode of Initalks.
- 1:04:21It's very nice to have you here today.
- 1:04:24Hi, how's it going?
- 1:04:26So, we are chilling right now.
- 1:04:28Like, um, we are, if anyone in the chat have a question for
- 1:04:33Yvonne, feel free to ask one.
- 1:04:34And any question related to sim racing and motorsport, feel free to
- 1:04:39ask anything in the chat while we are having a chat, me and Yvonne.
- 1:04:44Now we are talking about the Gran Turismo movie.
- 1:04:47We are talking about someone who wants to get into real racing from sim racing.
- 1:04:53I think that will be me because I started from sim racing and
- 1:04:56I want to get into real racing.
- 1:04:58While Yvonne, she already did a lot of drive.
- 1:05:02Back in the day, in karting, sorry I'm a little late doing a GT7 daily race.
- 1:05:09Oh, a daily race, interesting, interesting.
- 1:05:13And you can learn a lot from the daily race too, right?
- 1:05:17Like, you can learn how to drive from the daily race, I believe.
- 1:05:22Yes, but the driving standards are sometimes a bit interesting.
- 1:05:28So, I haven't done much dailies.
- 1:05:31I think I've got a B license and that's it.
- 1:05:35Yeah.
- 1:05:36Right, right.
- 1:05:37So, um, is it like a total requirement for someone who wants
- 1:05:42to get into real racing from sim racing to get into the PC, PC games?
- 1:05:50I think it's, it's, um, possible to, to, to do it with Gran Turismo as well.
- 1:05:58I think in the PC, uh, they achieved a little bit more also with events
- 1:06:04for going into, to racing as well.
- 1:06:07Uh, so,
- 1:06:11yeah, it's, it's possible.
- 1:06:13So it's possible, but maybe, um, when you're getting into the real track,
- 1:06:19maybe there are still something that you need to learn because
- 1:06:22you didn't get that in the sim.
- 1:06:25Yes, you always need to learn.
- 1:06:28It's, uh, you can learn a bit of the basics in the sim, and then
- 1:06:32you go to the track, and then it's going to get real, so people getting
- 1:06:37nervous or something like that.
- 1:06:38It's, uh, There are a lot of other things coming with that you don't have in the
- 1:06:44sim or don't have as much in the sim.
- 1:06:47Right.
- 1:06:48I think when I was doing a carting, one thing that makes me shocked back
- 1:06:53then is that I hear the sound of other car right next to me, and it makes me
- 1:06:58shocked like, oh wow, that's so loud.
- 1:07:01Cause back in the day when I was racing in iRacing, I turned down
- 1:07:05the engine volume so I can hear the sound of the tires better.
- 1:07:09While in reality, you cannot.
- 1:07:11choose which which sounds you want to hear more so you hear everything even
- 1:07:15though that you already wear a helmet you can still feel the engine like
- 1:07:18really loud like and it makes me kind of yeah but back in the days i'm not
- 1:07:25sure if they still allowed now but back in the days when i was Racing outdoors.
- 1:07:30We were also sitting on the engine and putting the choke,
- 1:07:34I think you call it a choke or something in English, I'm not sure.
- 1:07:38Putting it in, to just get a few kilometers an hour faster.
- 1:07:42I'm not sure, I'm still alive now, but back in the days it was a good trick.
- 1:07:48To get a few kilometers an hour faster.
- 1:07:51On the straights or just out of the corner, just a little push.
- 1:07:55Push, little push.
- 1:07:57And, oh, Sean, what about Formula Woman for ULs?
- 1:08:01Would you ever consider joining that?
- 1:08:03I would love to, but I think it's in Europe, I think, yeah.
- 1:08:07Cause It's in England now, but I'm not sure if something is like that in America.
- 1:08:13Yeah, because I'm Fiona Antonia, I live in the United States, and
- 1:08:17honestly, I'm still finding my way to start getting into motorsports.
- 1:08:23And what I'm thinking right now as a start is I want to try indoor karting.
- 1:08:28Because Yvonne said it earlier, like, yeah, indoor.
- 1:08:32And a lot of my friends recommends me to try out from indoor karting.
- 1:08:37So, um, yeah, maybe as a start, I will get into karting, learning how to
- 1:08:43drive in real life, race in real life.
- 1:08:46And then after that, maybe I will start finding my way to get
- 1:08:51into motorsport, real racing.
- 1:08:53Cause it's the thing that I really want to do in my life, in this
- 1:08:58lifetime, racing in real life.
- 1:09:05I want to know if she still has ambience for, uh, for real racing.
- 1:09:09Is it for E FON?
- 1:09:11I assume it's for E FON.
- 1:09:12I don't think so.
- 1:09:12Yes.
- 1:09:14Yes.
- 1:09:14Yes, André.
- 1:09:15I still have it.
- 1:09:16I haven't lost any of it, uh, the passion for racing or whatsoever.
- 1:09:21Fortunately, my house has gone a lot backwards.
- 1:09:24Uh, the last year.
- 1:09:26So, uh, I need to recover.
- 1:09:28And, uh, see a few more doctors.
- 1:09:31Um, to get recovered afterwards.
- 1:09:34And then hopefully next year we can look back and to, to get racing again.
- 1:09:40Right.
- 1:09:41I really hope that one day, or not one day, next year.
- 1:09:45Make it next year.
- 1:09:47Next year you will be back.
- 1:09:49Oh yes.
- 1:09:49So sparkling.
- 1:09:50Mm hmm.
- 1:09:52Let's feel back.
- 1:09:54Well, I hope the Nordschleife, huh?
- 1:09:56I really hope that will be the goal, the 24 hours of
- 1:10:00Nordschleife in a couple of years.
- 1:10:02That will be a great goal to get with Sophie, of course, to do that together.
- 1:10:08That's great.
- 1:10:09Well, we must say, like, don't be afraid to dream big, right?
- 1:10:14Yeah.
- 1:10:15Don't be afraid to dream big.
- 1:10:17It's free!
- 1:10:19You don't need to pay for Dream Big.
- 1:10:21So, yeah.
- 1:10:23Dream Big, put, put your, uh, put your time and energy.
- 1:10:29Try to do it, like, one step at a time.
- 1:10:32I think, yeah, one step at a time.
- 1:10:34Yes.
- 1:10:36First for me, I'll get into karting.
- 1:10:38Trying to follow your path.
- 1:10:40When you were young, you started from karting.
- 1:10:42So, I will try to follow that.
- 1:10:44I got some basic knowledge from sim racing, then maybe time to step up
- 1:10:49into karting, and hopefully one day I will make it to NASCAR, because,
- 1:10:55okay, I didn't get into the NASCAR.
- 1:10:57Oh yeah, some good, some good NASCAR racing.
- 1:10:59I would love to have some, someday a track day or something in a NASCAR.
- 1:11:05And then on the high speed ovals.
- 1:11:07Oh, that's so great.
- 1:11:10Yep.
- 1:11:10Yes.
- 1:11:11Because when we were in Las Vegas, I think that was the first time I fell
- 1:11:16in love with motorsport because I went, we went to the Las Vegas motor
- 1:11:21speedway and I still remember that, uh, we walked down the bridge, like
- 1:11:27we tried to cross the bridge, like the basement tunnel part of it like that.
- 1:11:33And that was the moment when all the cars passing the, the bridge
- 1:11:38and I can feel the, the road is like rumbling really loud.
- 1:11:42I think that's what makes me love the oval race.
- 1:11:46And I think since that day, I said to myself that I want to race in oval one
- 1:11:50day because, oh, the ground is shaking.
- 1:11:53It's so cool.
- 1:11:54Like, wow.
- 1:11:56Well, you have that also with road racing.
- 1:11:58It's on foot, you have it as well on the, on the straight
- 1:12:01to start finish line straight.
- 1:12:03You can walk on that and then On the bridge basically they're racing on
- 1:12:08and you have the same feeling as well.
- 1:12:11Yeah Well, maybe I mean I just in the end.
- 1:12:16I just want to race in real life So if I got the opportunity to drive in
- 1:12:21real life doesn't matter if it's awful or road racing I will take that I will
- 1:12:25take every opportunity So I'm not gonna choose, like, I just want to do oval.
- 1:12:30I will take everything to learn about rail racing, then maybe
- 1:12:34later I can choose my preference.
- 1:12:38When I drove in the wet on ZI didn't understand the wet lines.
- 1:12:42Now we have rain in I racing.
- 1:12:44I get the basics I learned in real life for sea racing.
- 1:12:49Hey, Sean.
- 1:12:50How?
- 1:12:51Uh, no, I, no, that is, uh, Michael.
- 1:12:53Mike, Michael.
- 1:12:54I thought that was John.
- 1:12:55I'm sorry.
- 1:12:56Then Michael, um, you are saying that you got the basic
- 1:13:01that you learned in real life.
- 1:13:03And you apply that to sim racing.
- 1:13:05Um, do you see any difference?
- 1:13:08Do you feel any difference driving in the rain between real life and in the sim,
- 1:13:13of course, other than the other is game.
- 1:13:16The other is real life, but can you actually bring whatever you learn on
- 1:13:21the track in real life to sim racing?
- 1:13:24That's the question for the chat.
- 1:13:29Aren't there, aren't there NASCAR course on several Oval?
- 1:13:32Especially Las Vegas should be the place where you can buy
- 1:13:34day in one or multiple cars.
- 1:13:39NASCAR course on several Oval.
- 1:13:42Oh wait, what do you mean by that?
- 1:13:45I think she meant like track days on, uh, on Ovals.
- 1:13:50Uh, different levels, uh, in America, especially Las Vegas should be a
- 1:13:55place where you can buy a day, so a track day in one or multiple cars.
- 1:14:00I think that's possible, yes.
- 1:14:02I think it's possible, but I just haven't got a chance to take a
- 1:14:07look into the driving experience or the track day experience.
- 1:14:11But I know that some road tracks has the track days, you can drive
- 1:14:14around the track, but I'm not sure about the off road track.
- 1:14:19Like, I'm not sure about the Oval Trek, if they're having that Trek Days experience.
- 1:14:23I'm pretty sure they have it.
- 1:14:24Hi!
- 1:14:27PrangisDesignTV!
- 1:14:28Hello!
- 1:14:28Welcome to the first episode of Innit Talks.
- 1:14:31It's very nice to have you here today.
- 1:14:33Enjoy your time here.
- 1:14:34You're very awesome!
- 1:14:35We are having a chat with the one and only Yvonne Ouvillard, the sim
- 1:14:39racer, IRL driver, and also the community manager of Innit Esports.
- 1:14:45So if you have any questions related to sim racing and motorsport,
- 1:14:49feel free to ask in the chat.
- 1:14:53It was very accurate to be honest.
- 1:14:56So iRacing is doing a great job with the rain, Dan.
- 1:15:00I haven't tried driving in the rain since since it's released because
- 1:15:03I haven't got my setup ready but have you tried driving it, Tiffan?
- 1:15:08Uh, yes, one time.
- 1:15:10Uh, I've tried it.
- 1:15:12I think it's good.
- 1:15:13I like some good rain.
- 1:15:15Hmm, because I think some drive in the rain but it was in the ACC, I think.
- 1:15:21But in ACC, I forgot.
- 1:15:25But in iRacing, it's like almost rule of thumb that you need to take
- 1:15:28a different line when it's raining.
- 1:15:30Yes.
- 1:15:30You cannot take the bottle.
- 1:15:32I think in ACC you can still take the Wait.
- 1:15:35You can still take the racing line.
- 1:15:38Yeah.
- 1:15:39Oh, but in real life, well, a c, c in I racing, you do in, I racing you, you do
- 1:15:48a little bit wider, make sure the car's straight, and then you accelerate again.
- 1:15:52Basically that works better.
- 1:15:54And in a CC, that's not needed and you can just do the normal racing line.
- 1:15:58Yeah, that's, I think that's all I reme all I remember in a CC, you don't have
- 1:16:03to take like a different line in when it's raining, but you have to break
- 1:16:07like early, of course, because of.
- 1:16:09Yes, reduce the speed a bit.
- 1:16:13Right, right.
- 1:16:15So that's what you guys do in real life when it's raining.
- 1:16:19Yes, and because we are Dutchies, we know about some rain.
- 1:16:25We have a lot of rain.
- 1:16:27We have a lot of rain.
- 1:16:28So both of you are very well trained in the rain.
- 1:16:32So rain is not a problem.
- 1:16:35Meanwhile, it could be a problem for me because we don't really
- 1:16:38have much rain in California.
- 1:16:41I'll help you.
- 1:16:42Don't worry.
- 1:16:45How are you, Yvonne?
- 1:16:46I wanted to stop in and see what you guys were up to.
- 1:16:49Been missing all of you over here at Enid.
- 1:16:52Missing you too.
- 1:16:54Yvonne, how are you doing?
- 1:16:56How do you feel?
- 1:16:56How's life and everything?
- 1:16:59Yeah, I'm okay.
- 1:17:02Yes, and hopefully, Trangis, hopefully in the future we will
- 1:17:06have more shows on Enid's channel.
- 1:17:08We're starting from Enid Talks, having this little chat talk show, and hopefully,
- 1:17:14maybe, one day we can have, I don't know, a community session, or something
- 1:17:19fun, like a game show, or anything.
- 1:17:21You know, like we are open to any kind of ideas.
- 1:17:24So if you have any fun ideas that we should bring to the channel, feel
- 1:17:29free to put it in the chat, or you can message us on Discord, on Enid's Discord.
- 1:17:34I believe Yvonne already shared the link to Discord.
- 1:17:38So yeah, feel free to join, or you haven't.
- 1:17:42Hold on.
- 1:17:43I have fun ideas, but I can't see it back.
- 1:17:46Join our Discord.
- 1:17:48Don't worry, I will type it up for you.
- 1:17:53There we go.
- 1:17:58So, I think you should be able to see the link, guys, on Discord.
- 1:18:04There we go.
- 1:18:06Right, so, um, Ifon, I think that will be all the Um, all the question from me and,
- 1:18:15um, Michael here's, uh, and everyone in the chat, if you have, um, some questions,
- 1:18:22um, feel free to ask in the chat, any kind of question you want to know, even
- 1:18:27asking a question about the grand turismo movie, we accept that because it's still
- 1:18:31related to sim racing and real racing.
- 1:18:37I remember your name.
- 1:18:41I'm not sure if I say it right, I'm sorry if I don't.
- 1:18:44Um, but I think he is the one that's also raised on ACC, with
- 1:18:49the United Elite Esports Slavery.
- 1:18:52If I remember correctly.
- 1:18:55Right, right.
- 1:18:57I think, I think Trangis sometimes stream on Innit Esports back in the day.
- 1:19:02So, I think I hang out a bit back in the day, in the chat.
- 1:19:06So, of course I remember you.
- 1:19:08I remember every, I feel like I remember every names in simracing.
- 1:19:13Like, most people in simracing.
- 1:19:15I don't know, maybe because it's a small world.
- 1:19:17Like, it's, it's Everybody knows everybody and it turns out that I met someone on
- 1:19:23the track right before I know her or him.
- 1:19:26Like, it's a small world in sim racing so I feel like everybody knows everybody.
- 1:19:36And anyway, Yvonne, um, is there any um, future goal for you?
- 1:19:44Before we end the talk for today, Is there any goals that you want to
- 1:19:51achieve other than racing in real life?
- 1:19:55Well, I would like to help as many ladies and drivers getting involved
- 1:20:00into, to sim racing, uh, coach them, help them to get better, uh, and, uh,
- 1:20:10Get more women involved, basically.
- 1:20:12Get more women into sim racing, right?
- 1:20:15Because I feel like in sim racing, we are driving with the same, not like same
- 1:20:22equipment, but all of us racing with a wheel and pedals, so for me, um, it
- 1:20:29doesn't matter if you're like a girl or a woman, a girl or a boy, I mean,
- 1:20:33sorry, so if you keep on doing it, if you keep on doing it, Keep doing it, right?
- 1:20:40Like, don't be afraid just because you're a girl or something.
- 1:20:44Just do it, and let the results speak, right?
- 1:20:48Yes, but not only in simracing, also in real life, in the daily life.
- 1:20:54Don't give up, keep pushing yourself.
- 1:20:57Keep fighting.
- 1:21:00Keep fighting, it will make yourself happy.
- 1:21:05If you can achieve what you want to achieve.
- 1:21:08So yeah, I hope also in real life to help as many people with, for
- 1:21:13example, a disability, uh, to show them what you all can do, even
- 1:21:20with a disability or wheelchair.
- 1:21:22It doesn't matter.
- 1:21:23You can do everything.
- 1:21:26Just maybe a little bit slower or a little bit adjusted.
- 1:21:29I race adjusted in the sim and it works very well, so it's
- 1:21:33nothing that, uh, can stop you.
- 1:21:37Nothing can stop you from doing what you love.
- 1:21:41Yes, indeed.
- 1:21:43Cause, I remember back in the day when I just started doing simracing.
- 1:21:48So, my background in social media is, I started as a beauty blogger.
- 1:21:53I'm doing makeup.
- 1:21:54I'm giving a makeup tutorial, it's not like I'm giving you a simracing tutorial.
- 1:21:58I think you can give me a makeup tutorial, then I'll give you the simracing tutorial.
- 1:22:02Yep.
- 1:22:03Right.
- 1:22:03I can give you some tips about makeup and you can coach me about simracing.
- 1:22:06Yeah, so back in the day when I started doing simracing like everybody will
- 1:22:14everybody said like she wouldn't survive in this gaming world she she will never
- 1:22:19making it to the top because again, my background because I'm a beauty blogger
- 1:22:25and also that this This world is full of, um, men, so back in the day, having a
- 1:22:33female sim racer back in my home country, it's like something new to everyone.
- 1:22:38Like, okay, a female sim racer, what's that?
- 1:22:41I don't think you will survive.
- 1:22:43But yeah, keep on doing it, cause I never I thought that I could be
- 1:22:48here having a chat about simracing and wanna get into real racing.
- 1:22:54So yeah, I mean, if I stopped, if I gave up like back then,
- 1:22:58I wouldn't make it here.
- 1:23:00Ow!
- 1:23:01Oh my god, Linda!
- 1:23:02Hi, Linda!
- 1:23:04How's it going?
- 1:23:05Welcome to the first episode of Innitalks.
- 1:23:08I'm Els and I'll be your host for the Innitalks and for the first
- 1:23:13guest of the day of the Innitalks, we are having Yvonne O'Fleur.
- 1:23:22I'm a proud disabled sim racer and driver and I'm so proud of you.
- 1:23:26I'm so proud of you, Linda, and I'm I'm super, super proud of you, Yvonne,
- 1:23:31because after having this talk, I feel like, yeah, don't let anything
- 1:23:37stop you from doing what you love.
- 1:23:40Yes.
- 1:23:41Wow.
- 1:23:42I should push myself even more as in like, thank you for giving
- 1:23:47me like extra fuel to myself.
- 1:23:49Yeah.
- 1:23:50You know, after having this talk, I feel so motivated to get back into simracing.
- 1:23:55Cause sometimes I'm losing it because I've been busy with works and stuff.
- 1:24:00Sometimes I'm questioning that, do I still wanna stream and doing simracing?
- 1:24:05But then today we are having this chat.
- 1:24:09I don't know.
- 1:24:09It kind of reminds me of something that I like.
- 1:24:14I don't know if that makes sense to you.
- 1:24:16Yes, it does.
- 1:24:17Well, due to my health, uh, I can't race much in the sim now.
- 1:24:22So, uh, I do, uh, one league on Gran Turismo with a controller.
- 1:24:26Uh, and that's already difficult enough because I'm not a
- 1:24:30controller driver at all.
- 1:24:32But, uh, I just like to compete a little bit and practice some in the sim.
- 1:24:36I'm gonna practice a lot with the Dream Team for the VCO event.
- 1:24:40Yeah.
- 1:24:41And, um I'm not racing much anymore in the scene, but to
- 1:24:45help others is also great to do.
- 1:24:50So, that's what I'm doing more now.
- 1:24:52Yeah.
- 1:24:54And last question, because we're about to end the talk for today.
- 1:24:59What are your preparations?
- 1:25:01Getting into the VCO event with new teammates, the Dream Team girls?
- 1:25:09Yes, we, uh, we are going to practice, all four of us together.
- 1:25:15Once the cars will be announced, uh, we're gonna decide who is driving which car.
- 1:25:21And then, uh, we're gonna practice for those cars only.
- 1:25:24Because I'm not gonna practice with all the five cars, if I don't
- 1:25:27have to drive all the five cars.
- 1:25:30And, uh, when the tracks are announced, we're gonna practice
- 1:25:33with the cars on the tracks.
- 1:25:34Uh, I'll be hosting sessions, uh, some coaching sessions.
- 1:25:39Uh, and so on, to be on fire when the race weekend comes, the 20 and 21 of April.
- 1:25:46So it's like in less than one month from now.
- 1:25:50Yes.
- 1:25:51Yes.
- 1:25:52So is there any expectation going into this event?
- 1:25:57Well, I think if we can get in, in the top 10 as a team, that will be amazing.
- 1:26:05We have two top drivers, Sarah Dorff and Nina, I'm a bit in between.
- 1:26:11And we have Victoria Miller who is coming from the Sim4Sam
- 1:26:15program into iRacing last year.
- 1:26:18And we're gonna coach her and she's gonna do great.
- 1:26:21A very young talented lady who's very motivated to get everything out of it.
- 1:26:28So, uh, I'm looking forward to that.
- 1:26:31I'm looking forward to see her race.
- 1:26:33In the FEC area as well.
- 1:26:35I'm really rooting for you girls.
- 1:26:37eSports team!
- 1:26:40Full of female like all female members competing in VCO.
- 1:26:45I'm supporting you.
- 1:26:46You got my support like me and my family will supporting
- 1:26:49this dream team like for real.
- 1:26:52I mean for me, I mean honestly for me as a viewer of this event I mean, I'm
- 1:26:59of course I want to see you girls on the top, but for me Take the journey, enjoy
- 1:27:06the journey, especially for Victoria.
- 1:27:09I don't know if she's here or watching, but for Victoria, take your time.
- 1:27:14Learn one step at a time.
- 1:27:16I'm rooting for you, and I'm rooting for all of you.
- 1:27:20Nina, Sarah, Yvonne.
- 1:27:22Sarah, I remember that she really loved driving in the rain back in the day when
- 1:27:26I was racing in 24 Hours Spa with her.
- 1:27:29So I'm really looking forward to see All of you driving in the
- 1:27:34VZO, like, really, I cannot wait.
- 1:27:37I'm so excited.
- 1:27:37I'm so happy.
- 1:27:38When I'm posting the announcement, I'm so happy.
- 1:27:41Like, oh my god, we make it happen.
- 1:27:43You know?
- 1:27:45Yes.
- 1:27:45I'm so happy.
- 1:27:47Oh, wait.
- 1:27:48Shouldn't we have a weekly practice session with the Screen2Speed Discord?
- 1:27:52That's a really good idea, Meika.
- 1:27:54We can have like, I don't know, like a weekly, in it weekly race,
- 1:27:58maybe like a community race, like every Thursday or every Friday.
- 1:28:03Just a community race, everyone is just like hosting a lobby.
- 1:28:06We drive together, we get to know each other more, and we learn how to drive.
- 1:28:11That's a good idea, I will put that on the list, and maybe we will make it happen.
- 1:28:17Cause we keep on trying to make everything happen.
- 1:28:20Make the impossible possible, basically.
- 1:28:23Cause, when I just started getting into simracing, I don't think that it's
- 1:28:28possible to have a female simracing team.
- 1:28:32And, here we are now, in Innit Esports, we are making a simracing team.
- 1:28:37So, um, Maybe in the future, in the near future, we will have an in it weekly
- 1:28:43race, like a hosted lobby, we can drive together, have fun, and we can make
- 1:28:48a content, or maybe me, I'm a content creator, in gaming, so maybe, Uh, here on
- 1:28:55Init Talks, we can have, um, I don't know, a talk show talking about how to start,
- 1:29:00uh, being a content creator in gaming.
- 1:29:03If you guys interested, I'm down for it.
- 1:29:05Like, we can have, um, how to start, um, making a content, how to start being a
- 1:29:11content creator, if you guys interested.
- 1:29:13Cause, I feel like sometimes people asking, like, Aya, how do you make a clip?
- 1:29:17How do you make a fun clip like that?
- 1:29:20And I learned that.
- 1:29:21So, maybe now it's my job.
- 1:29:23To share my knowledge with you, all of you guys, like, help me in the conversation.
- 1:29:29I'll be standing first row, because I really like what you're doing with the
- 1:29:33social media, and I already learnt a lot, because, uh, compared to you, I'm
- 1:29:37just a rookie, uh, into social media.
- 1:29:41So, uh, I really like what you're doing, and I learn still every day.
- 1:29:45Yeah, maybe?
- 1:29:47On for the next next episode, maybe we will have like a like a What do
- 1:29:54you say like a class like not like an online class But it will be free for
- 1:29:59everyone, but you guys can ask question about content creation on how to grow
- 1:30:04your uh social media channel what what works and what's not works in on social
- 1:30:10media So maybe in the in the near future we will have that so we might have
- 1:30:16uh a weekly race and other than that we will we might have um A session, a
- 1:30:24learning session, I must say, a learning session on how to be a content creator.
- 1:30:30Or maybe in the future we can have Ash Vandele, because
- 1:30:34she's a woman in motorsport.
- 1:30:35She's like doing a really great job.
- 1:30:37Her content is so good.
- 1:30:40Chef kiss, you know, so maybe we can have Ash, we can learn from her also.
- 1:30:44Or maybe if you have any other recommendation about who should we invite
- 1:30:49for the next IndyTalks, feel free to let us know on the chat or on Discord,
- 1:30:55because we would love to highlight every woman in motorsport and sim racing.
- 1:31:01It's our goal to give you girls, uh, a spotlight here in sim racing
- 1:31:07because everybody is different.
- 1:31:09Everybody has its own specialty and every one of you is unique.
- 1:31:15So share your story to us.
