Transcript
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to Pizzachade. It's many paying here, it's Friday,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and I have got Keisha here because we're going to
- 0:19Speaker 1: talk about family lock up. Almost said the wrong thing,
- 0:23Speaker 1: Kisha almost said love after lock up, but it's family
- 0:25Speaker 1: lock kay.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I know. It's a Friday morning, and you guys, here's
- 0:31Speaker 2: the thing.
- 0:32Speaker 1: We thought we were gonna get the screeners and we
- 0:33Speaker 1: were gonna have this episode out when you woke up
- 0:35Speaker 1: Friday morning and be in your feed, but they decided
- 0:39Speaker 1: not to go to screeners this weekend.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Maybe forever. We're not sure.
- 0:42Speaker 3: I'm planning it's gonna be a foreverything too, So I'm
- 0:48Speaker 3: thinking this may be just the norm what we're doing
- 0:52Speaker 3: right now. Because no, that looked good, that looked promising.
- 0:57Speaker 2: It doesn't. We don't.
- 0:58Speaker 1: We don't prefer to record in the morning, especially Keisha
- 1:02Speaker 1: because she's an hour behind me and neither one of
- 1:06Speaker 1: us are early birds.
- 1:07Speaker 2: So no, we're not.
- 1:11Speaker 4: No, we're not those that those type of girls at all.
- 1:14Speaker 2: But here we are. We're going to talk about this
- 1:16Speaker 2: show more addiction, more sadness.
- 1:21Speaker 3: There gotta be some episodes in there that are not addiction,
- 1:26Speaker 3: Like can we have like a shoplifting ring or something
- 1:29Speaker 3: like that.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Like, yeah, I'd like just some straight up grand theft
- 1:33Speaker 1: auto I'd like I'd like some white collar crime. I'd
- 1:38Speaker 1: like somebody origin checks for no reason. Yeah, that'd be great.
- 1:42Speaker 2: It doesn't have to be everybody's on drugs, But unfortunately the.
- 1:45Speaker 1: World we live in a lot of people are on
- 1:48Speaker 1: drugs and do go to prison because of it.
- 1:51Speaker 4: I guess we'll see. I have hope we're gonna get
- 1:53Speaker 4: some in.
- 1:53Speaker 2: There that are not little not addiction because this is.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Rough, because addiction is it kind of hard?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Now?
- 2:02Speaker 4: Yeah, makes it hard for us. I have to recap it.
- 2:08Speaker 1: But there are lessons to be learned here. So let's
- 2:10Speaker 1: see if we can figure them out. Okay, I immediately
- 2:14Speaker 1: need to help when we go into this, this couple
- 2:16Speaker 1: as we call them, So, Okay, Robert is the prisoner. Okay,
- 2:23Speaker 1: Brandon is the half brother of Robert. Yes, they seem
- 2:30Speaker 1: to have the same dad. Yes, okay, But Robert, the
- 2:37Speaker 1: older brother, grew up wealthy and Brandon, the second brother,
- 2:42Speaker 1: grew up in the hood.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Does that mean I don't.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Think he was I don't think he was wealthy. I
- 2:47Speaker 3: think he was like a suburb kid.
- 2:50Speaker 1: So does that mean Dad was married to Robert's mom,
- 2:55Speaker 1: who we see Dad was married to her. They had
- 2:58Speaker 1: a nice life, everything was fine, and then Dad married
- 3:01Speaker 1: somebody and had Brandon and moved to the hood.
- 3:06Speaker 3: I I personally think that Dad probably didn't marry any
- 3:10Speaker 3: of the women that he has children with because he
- 3:12Speaker 3: was an addict himself.
- 3:14Speaker 4: So I think he was just around slinging dick and
- 3:16Speaker 4: getting bit just pregnant and in.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Oh, you know what, gotta go because he's easier to
- 3:21Speaker 3: find a hood.
- 3:22Speaker 1: But he would say, he said, when I would go
- 3:26Speaker 1: to my dad's house, so it was the dad's house,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and it maybe Dad was with Brandon's mom at the time,
- 3:33Speaker 1: but maybe not married and maybe just they.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Had a house mama. Yeah kind of situation. Yeah. Dad
- 3:41Speaker 4: doesn't get mentioned a lot other than just that introduction
- 3:45Speaker 4: right there.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Yeah, And so I literally my first note is immediately
- 3:49Speaker 1: I need help figure this family out.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Yeah, because sorry, there's a weird.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Uh because I remember Brandon actually saying that Robert's mom
- 3:59Speaker 3: would come and pick him up so he could go
- 4:02Speaker 3: over to her house to spend time with Robert.
- 4:05Speaker 4: So I guess the baby mama's got along quite well.
- 4:09Speaker 2: So confusing.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Now if we beat Brandon, Okay, he's the half brother
- 4:13Speaker 1: of Robert. Robert is serving five months for a parole violation,
- 4:17Speaker 1: which we immediately know that probably means drugs. He's gonna
- 4:21Speaker 1: be released in four days. Why aren't we doing this
- 4:23Speaker 1: four days before?
- 4:25Speaker 3: I don't know, but I couldnot get past you know,
- 4:29Speaker 3: he was making that taffy and I'm like, why can't
- 4:32Speaker 3: you not trade some of that taffy for our haircut?
- 4:35Speaker 4: Because that hair bothered me the entire episode.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Both hair.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Yes, Brandon's hair was so egregious. What was happening? Did
- 4:48Speaker 1: he He's losing his hair and he's brushed it all
- 4:50Speaker 1: forward into a bowl.
- 4:53Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 4:53Speaker 3: He was giving me eminem Circle circa two thousand and
- 4:58Speaker 3: two or something like that. Maybe he watched the movie
- 5:01Speaker 3: eight Miles Miles, like eight times too many or something.
- 5:06Speaker 4: It was a lie, it was it was.
- 5:10Speaker 1: There's a lot of hair, A yeah, because Robert also
- 5:16Speaker 1: had terrible hair. So okay, so they have the same dag.
- 5:20Speaker 1: They're half brothers. Growing up, they didn't hang out too
- 5:23Speaker 1: much because Robert was older, but Robert was fun when
- 5:27Speaker 1: he would come over to Brandon's house to.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Their dad's house.
- 5:31Speaker 1: They would watch wrestling, and he remembers as a kid
- 5:35Speaker 1: having to visit his brother Robert in juvenile detention, and
- 5:39Speaker 1: that's when he realized like his brother was on the
- 5:42Speaker 1: wrong path, right, And it says Robert grew up in
- 5:45Speaker 1: a very nice neighborhood while he, Brandon grew up in
- 5:48Speaker 1: the hoods surrounded by addiction.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Isin't that funny how it goes? You know what I mean?
- 5:54Speaker 4: You you would think it would be reversed, but not.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Addiction doesn't discriminate, as we know, No, it doesn't.
- 6:02Speaker 1: And he said, right out of high school, he joined
- 6:04Speaker 1: the army, which made him who he is today. But
- 6:07Speaker 1: Robert has been in and out of jail, battling addiction,
- 6:10Speaker 1: and he's done backstabbing things to the entire family.
- 6:14Speaker 4: That happens a lot. It's a lot too.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yeah. So in twenty sixteen, Brandon was living with their
- 6:21Speaker 2: older brother. No he didn't say, he says other brother,
- 6:24Speaker 2: their other brother, Nathan. He had just bought his first
- 6:27Speaker 2: house and Robert moved in with the brothers. And it
- 6:31Speaker 2: was fine until out of nowhere he got back into
- 6:34Speaker 2: his addiction. And he said, and when he's.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Using, he's stealing and he's lying, and he says, after
- 6:39Speaker 1: he stole from me, I cut him off.
- 6:40Speaker 2: It's been eight years.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I want to have a relationship with my brother, but
- 6:44Speaker 1: he has to be able to change. So he hasn't
- 6:46Speaker 1: really talked to him in eight years. So I don't
- 6:48Speaker 1: think I'm coming in crazy, coming in.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Four days before. You don't have a relationship with him anymore.
- 6:53Speaker 4: I mean, no, you don't even know this person anymore.
- 6:56Speaker 4: I just the four days before eight years. Yeah, that's
- 7:00Speaker 4: threw me off. Yeah, that that that threw me off
- 7:03Speaker 4: big time.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I wish it would have been were coming in thirty
- 7:05Speaker 1: days before so we can talk to him and then
- 7:08Speaker 1: make him go to this thirty day program. So at
- 7:11Speaker 1: least he's got But I mean a two day head
- 7:13Speaker 1: start is not gonna do it, you know.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I was. I was shocked when they said that.
- 7:16Speaker 4: I was like, uh okay, So.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Literally the four days, what three of them are spent
- 7:22Speaker 3: with his brother.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and then he gets out that, Yeah it.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Made me listen, you know. Yeah.
- 7:29Speaker 1: So we see Brandon getting processed blah blah blah, and
- 7:32Speaker 1: he says, you know this seems you know, inhumane. I'm
- 7:35Speaker 1: sacrificing a lot for my brother, and my brother doesn't
- 7:38Speaker 1: have the plan to be on the right track and
- 7:39Speaker 1: get sober.
- 7:40Speaker 2: That's it. I'm not gonna have.
- 7:41Speaker 4: A relationship with him.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Were already a relationship, right.
- 7:45Speaker 1: So we meet Robert Gatz. He's thirty eight. He's the
- 7:47Speaker 1: brother of Brandon. He's in there for shoplifting and approbation violations,
- 7:51Speaker 1: assault and battery, stuff like that.
- 7:53Speaker 4: It's no big deal.
- 7:54Speaker 2: So we've seen worse, no big time.
- 7:58Speaker 1: He explains he was in and out of a jubie
- 7:59Speaker 1: from fourteen to eighteen with various charges. That was a
- 8:03Speaker 1: really hard time for him when he was in juby
- 8:05Speaker 1: and at the time he was really just no biggie.
- 8:07Speaker 2: He was doing ex coke and.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Then hard drugs came at twenty eight, So ten years
- 8:12Speaker 1: ago he was a stay at home dad.
- 8:18Speaker 3: That poor baby was given two bottles on east side
- 8:22Speaker 3: of his bouncy seat and put in front of the
- 8:25Speaker 3: TV to watch Dora the Explorer and take care of
- 8:28Speaker 3: itself the whole entire day.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Terrible, terrible.
- 8:33Speaker 4: What kind a mother would leave her a baby with Robert.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Well, she's like, listen, he shouldn't have a choice.
- 8:40Speaker 1: He's just doing a little ex little coke, a little pot,
- 8:43Speaker 1: it'll be it'll be.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Fine to get into fitting all and stuff like that.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And then baby babe, I should ask a little sen
- 8:49Speaker 3: year old girl next door if she could baby sit instead.
- 8:53Speaker 1: So he says, his buddy came over, who was Okay.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I had to read this a couple of times because
- 8:58Speaker 1: first I thought he said he got percoset. Then I
- 9:01Speaker 1: was like, oh, well, let's explain what the injury was.
- 9:03Speaker 1: But no, his buddy came over who had a prescription
- 9:06Speaker 1: for percocet, and he took it. But then he says,
- 9:10Speaker 1: he really didn't know it, but when you first sniffed it,
- 9:13Speaker 1: it was everything. He So he snorted up the percocet
- 9:18Speaker 1: and he said it was everything he wanted to feel.
- 9:20Speaker 1: But eventually it got too expensive, so he found heroin.
- 9:24Speaker 1: As it goes, so he said, he says, I have
- 9:29Speaker 1: a beautiful son. He had a seizure at age five,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and after that, you know, we didn't know what was
- 9:35Speaker 1: going on with him, and I tried to numb himself.
- 9:38Speaker 1: So the boy maybe has epilepsy. I don't that's not
- 9:41Speaker 1: ever totally.
- 9:43Speaker 3: He didn't get into his dad's stashed or anything like
- 9:46Speaker 3: that that would have been fucking horrible.
- 9:48Speaker 2: But okaysha, I didn't it.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Could have happened, especially with Robert being the babysitter, I mean,
- 9:55Speaker 3: leaving his shit out and all that kind of stuff.
- 9:58Speaker 4: I didn't even think of that would be awful. I
- 10:00Speaker 4: hate when they don't explain stuff. I'm like, no, it's
- 10:02Speaker 4: all had a seizure.
- 10:03Speaker 3: We need to know exactly the diagnosis, Like why did
- 10:07Speaker 3: you chow have a seizure?
- 10:08Speaker 4: Where is this child? Is a child? Okay?
- 10:10Speaker 1: Now, like because they mentioned they mentioned the kid, so
- 10:14Speaker 1: the kid's around, but we just don't know, right is
- 10:17Speaker 1: the mother?
- 10:17Speaker 4: Okay?
- 10:18Speaker 2: Yeah, okay.
- 10:20Speaker 1: So he says after that, you know, it was so
- 10:22Speaker 1: upsetting to him that he just tried to numb himself
- 10:25Speaker 1: and he lost everyone to his addiction. He lost his
- 10:29Speaker 1: child's mother, he lost his kid, his family, you know,
- 10:33Speaker 1: he lost everybody.
- 10:34Speaker 3: And look, can I just say that this dude looks
- 10:37Speaker 3: like he has not had a good night's sleep in
- 10:40Speaker 3: like thirteen years.
- 10:42Speaker 4: He's got the horrible BedHead, he's got the red eyes.
- 10:46Speaker 4: He just looks like he hasn't slept well.
- 10:50Speaker 2: He yeah, ah, that's true. He does look like complete shit.
- 10:55Speaker 1: He does, y'all what's the hardest thing about hitting your

- 12:16Speaker 2: You're on tropic time now.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I really thought that they were going to say that
- 12:22Speaker 3: he was using while he was in prison because he.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Looks like it he does, or he's just had such
- 12:28Speaker 1: bad withdrawals that this is the you know whatever.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And he says, I mean.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Advising, advising before we start filming, please.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Like damn, did somebody give me a brush for this hair?
- 12:44Speaker 3: Just I don't think a brush should do anything because
- 12:47Speaker 3: it's like growing out.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I think it's like he needs a squirt bottle so
- 12:51Speaker 2: he can it was rush.
- 12:52Speaker 3: It down, channeling will from life after luck up a little.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Bit with the sticking up here and there. Just never know,
- 13:00Speaker 4: just yeah, espially want to lick your head and go
- 13:04Speaker 4: I might help you out.
- 13:06Speaker 2: My son has a one of his best friends.
- 13:09Speaker 1: His hair looks like that, and it is wild because
- 13:12Speaker 1: that I think it's on purpose.
- 13:14Speaker 2: And you're all like, oh, I was like, his hair is.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Insane, and my son's like, I don't know, he likes
- 13:19Speaker 1: it like that, but it looks just like it looks
- 13:21Speaker 1: exactly like that.
- 13:22Speaker 2: It's just pieces all over the place because it's so.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Straight that he can't do it. It's yeah, oh boy,
- 13:29Speaker 1: it's like straight and thick, so it just sticks straight up.
- 13:32Speaker 1: He says, his mother, you know, had to take him
- 13:34Speaker 1: in and out of detoxes many many times. And he
- 13:38Speaker 1: talks about, you know, his brother being there, and he says,
- 13:40Speaker 1: you know, a brother's love is really strong and I
- 13:43Speaker 1: can remember him and I hope we can rebuild.
- 13:46Speaker 3: So it's strong unless you're stilling from him, right.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Sounds like a lot less strong lock ever, both his brothers.
- 13:52Speaker 1: It sounds like, yeah, we don't see Nathan in there.
- 13:56Speaker 1: So I got a little fruit fly kesha want to say.
- 14:00Speaker 1: One said, you know what, you got all my friends,
- 14:02Speaker 1: but you're not getting me, motherfucker.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Haha.
- 14:05Speaker 3: So you know I noticed that whenever you know they
- 14:10Speaker 3: were bringing Brandon in, did you notice what they did
- 14:14Speaker 3: that they didn't do last time.
- 14:17Speaker 4: What they made him do, the bendover cough.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I heard him say, hey, we have to do this,
- 14:24Speaker 1: you know, but you're gonna have to bend over, you
- 14:25Speaker 1: have to spread them.
- 14:27Speaker 2: But then you heard him go, you heard him cough.
- 14:30Speaker 4: I would have been like, where the contract exactly?
- 14:34Speaker 3: Didn't say this ship was okay and necessary because I'm
- 14:38Speaker 3: gonna need you guys to give me a.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Fucking extra thousand dollars. Show him a butthold this is
- 14:44Speaker 4: time necessary. I would I'm like, I'm done.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Think about the button they have to see ew and
- 14:53Speaker 1: what if something comes out?
- 14:54Speaker 2: What if she cough and something pops out?
- 14:58Speaker 4: I would fall out on that fucking floor.
- 15:01Speaker 1: You'd be like, it is not worth it. Whenever the
- 15:03Speaker 1: state came he for this job, or.
- 15:05Speaker 4: It's not worth it.
- 15:06Speaker 3: This has fucked me up for a lifetime right now,
- 15:09Speaker 3: Like that would be just the smell.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Ooh eoh, why did you go there? Stop on trying
- 15:15Speaker 2: to enjoy my coffee.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Okay, So here's where I said, are we going to
- 15:20Speaker 1: discuss Brandon's hairstyle, knowing we would have already discussed it. Okay,
- 15:25Speaker 1: so Brandon will be by himself. He'll be away from
- 15:28Speaker 1: his brother for twenty four hours, which we still think
- 15:31Speaker 1: is stupid to experience prison and the talk ahead Brandon
- 15:35Speaker 1: is like, I don't give a shit about this. I
- 15:37Speaker 1: grew up, you know, I was in the military. I
- 15:39Speaker 1: grew up in the hood. My dad was in and
- 15:41Speaker 1: out of jail for addiction. I've been around a lot
- 15:43Speaker 1: of bad people, so I do have to watch my back,
- 15:45Speaker 1: but I'm not. He's like, I'm not worried about this.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Yeah, he was pretty smart about it, you know.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Yeah, even though you know he Chucky came up to
- 15:55Speaker 3: him trying to be nice. I have never met a
- 15:57Speaker 3: Chucky that wasn't bad. From the dog to my cousin,
- 16:01Speaker 3: every Chucky I've ever met has just been bad. Like,
- 16:05Speaker 3: think about it.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I've never known anybody named Chucky.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But there was a player and all this that got
- 16:11Speaker 1: hit and paralyzed and his name was Chucky Mullins and
- 16:15Speaker 1: they have like a statue to him on campus. Everything
- 16:17Speaker 1: he did eventually die. But geez, so he was a
- 16:21Speaker 1: good guy. But I that's the only cho I didn't
- 16:24Speaker 1: know him. I just know of him. I've never met
- 16:26Speaker 1: anybody named Chucky in my life. All we know Chuck
- 16:31Speaker 1: from ninety Day Fiance Libby's dad, Chuck.
- 16:34Speaker 3: I know a Chuck, but I know some Chucky's And
- 16:38Speaker 3: I'm just telling you it's something about when they act
- 16:40Speaker 3: that I e. That just just fucks it all up,
- 16:43Speaker 3: like they're just bad or that why, yeah, just bad.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Well, the people are trying to talk to him, and
- 16:50Speaker 1: he's like, m like, you want to play ping pong?
- 16:52Speaker 2: You want to do this?
- 16:52Speaker 1: He's like, narp I got twenty four hours to ignore
- 16:55Speaker 1: all you motherfuckers.
- 16:56Speaker 4: So look ping pong in the regular world. So like
- 17:00Speaker 4: a good time.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Ping pong in prisons sounds like, buttholes may be included,
- 17:05Speaker 3: like involved in it, Like there's.
- 17:06Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, we're not doing that. Sounds a
- 17:09Speaker 4: little bit sexual to me.
- 17:11Speaker 1: It sounds to me like once you lose at ping pong,
- 17:14Speaker 1: now you owe me all your sheets and bedding and
- 17:17Speaker 1: that's how that's the rules. You didn't know they go
- 17:19Speaker 1: and just take all your shit. Yeah, No, he did
- 17:22Speaker 1: get he was smart, he didn't get involved. So oh lord,
- 17:26Speaker 1: here comes doctor Jeff. He swaggers in, He's got a swagger,
- 17:30Speaker 1: he swaggers in.
- 17:31Speaker 3: He is ready, he is ready for the lights, camera
- 17:34Speaker 3: action always Yeah.
- 17:36Speaker 1: So he comes, he comes in, He arrives to see Robert.
- 17:39Speaker 1: So Robert is trying to talk to doctor Jeff, but
- 17:42Speaker 1: he doesn't even make eye contact him. He's he won't
- 17:46Speaker 1: look at him. Yeah, And he tells him he was
- 17:48Speaker 1: addicted to opiates. It was heroin, and he's and he
- 17:51Speaker 1: also says he used to sell drugs, so that's new information.
- 17:55Speaker 1: He said, my mother was great, but I just went
- 17:58Speaker 1: to the streets, had nothing to do with her. And
- 18:00Speaker 1: he says, you know, my mom to me really was
- 18:01Speaker 1: like an ATM. He said, I put so much on her.
- 18:05Speaker 1: I would give her such a hard time. It has
- 18:08Speaker 1: been so bad for her. So Jeff says, what about
- 18:11Speaker 1: your brother Brandon. He says, well, Brandon went off to
- 18:14Speaker 1: the army after high school and I haven't seen him
- 18:16Speaker 1: in ten years. You know, I stole money from him.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I felt awful because I'm the oldest. And to be honest,
- 18:24Speaker 1: he'd love for Brandon just to give him a chance.
- 18:26Speaker 1: And Jeff goes, Okay, what's your plan for saying sober?
- 18:31Speaker 1: You know most people go from here to a sober
- 18:33Speaker 1: house and he goes.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Nah, I don't want to do that.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I don't want to hear people talking about addiction and
- 18:37Speaker 1: drugs every day. I just want to be normal and
- 18:39Speaker 1: just leave it in the past. That's just well, my
- 18:42Speaker 1: way is to not deal with it.
- 18:45Speaker 4: That's not a good idea.
- 18:47Speaker 3: And you you don't understand addiction the way that you
- 18:51Speaker 3: think you do.
- 18:51Speaker 4: You just know how to be an addict. You don't
- 18:53Speaker 4: know how to overcome addiction.
- 18:55Speaker 2: That's exactly right.
- 18:56Speaker 1: And he says, my way just is not to deal
- 18:58Speaker 1: with it, and Jeff goes, uh, huh, So, how long
- 19:00Speaker 1: have you been sober this time?
- 19:01Speaker 2: And he says, right now, five months. We're not sure
- 19:04Speaker 2: we believe that.
- 19:05Speaker 4: I didn't believe that. I was actually quite surprised when
- 19:10Speaker 4: he said.
- 19:10Speaker 2: That he's been so good it god.
- 19:15Speaker 1: So in the talking head, doctor Jeff is like, I'm
- 19:17Speaker 1: very concerned going into a sober house is the right
- 19:20Speaker 1: way to stay sober. His way is not the way.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Just like forget it and go back to regular life.
- 19:25Speaker 1: So he just said he was a drug dealer. So
- 19:29Speaker 1: day one, he's meeting with his uh, Brandon is meeting
- 19:34Speaker 1: with Robert's counselor to review what's happened since he's been
- 19:37Speaker 1: in there, and Brandon is saying, you know, oh, you know,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I'm hoping my brother's okay, we can rekindle the relationship.
- 19:43Speaker 2: She goes, okay, well, i'll tell you this.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Robert was in a twenty eight day program and he
- 19:47Speaker 1: had six absences and you're only allowed to have one.
- 19:51Speaker 2: So he was terminated from the program.
- 19:54Speaker 1: And Brandon goes, damn, he's in jail with nothing else
- 19:57Speaker 1: to do, and he can't give me to this group.
- 20:00Speaker 4: I agree, I like it.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Whenever a person is in prison, they come out like
- 20:05Speaker 3: ripped up, because like, what the fuck else are you doing?
- 20:08Speaker 3: Like you might as well work out, I don't know,
- 20:09Speaker 3: go to the drug program.
- 20:11Speaker 4: That means he went one day and then probably skip
- 20:14Speaker 4: the next.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Six days and they're like, we're done with you and
- 20:17Speaker 3: you can't come back. Yeah, you can't come back.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Stupid.
- 20:21Speaker 1: He goes, well, it seems like if he won't do that,
- 20:22Speaker 1: he's not taking it seriously. And she goes and it
- 20:25Speaker 1: sounds like his home plan is to go back to
- 20:28Speaker 1: his apartment where he was before, and.
- 20:30Speaker 2: He was like wow.
- 20:33Speaker 1: And she goes, and you know, his drug of choice
- 20:34Speaker 1: and he's a heroine. She goes and fentanyl. Oh, it's
- 20:37Speaker 1: like so dangerous and he's like what, Yeah, he said, No,
- 20:42Speaker 1: I didn't I didn't know. Well, I mean, how would
- 20:44Speaker 1: he know. He hasn't talked to many Yeah, yeah, she says,
- 20:47Speaker 1: you know, there are things we can do to help him.
- 20:48Speaker 1: There's AISS all Inclusive Health Services to help him on
- 20:53Speaker 1: the day of his release. There's meetings he can go
- 20:55Speaker 1: to immediately. There's things we can't do. If you go
- 20:58Speaker 1: to the AISS, that will help him, right, and Brandon goes.
- 21:02Speaker 1: But if he doesn't want it, I can't help him.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I'm here to help him as much as I can
- 21:06Speaker 1: and explain that he's going to lose me.
- 21:07Speaker 2: As a brother.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I got two days to encourage him to get a
- 21:10Speaker 1: plan going or it sounds like a death sentence.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, fucking Are I with fitting all?
- 21:17Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Okay, So Robert and Brandon are going to meet with
- 21:21Speaker 1: doctor Jeff and the talking head. Robert says, the relationship
- 21:26Speaker 1: with my brother is the most important thing to be
- 21:29Speaker 1: But I've done some terrible things and I would understand
- 21:31Speaker 1: if my brother wants to let go of the relationship,
- 21:33Speaker 1: and I would never fault him for that. You haven't
- 21:35Speaker 1: talked to him in eight years, he's already help each other.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Yeah, y'all don't know each other at all.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Neither one of you knows how the other's hair is
- 21:44Speaker 3: gonna look.
- 21:45Speaker 4: It's gonna be a fart for both of you. Filthy hair.
- 21:48Speaker 3: And I tell you what, I was waiting for doctor
- 21:50Speaker 3: Jeff to be like, Okay, guys like Brandon didn't say
- 21:55Speaker 3: anything about my jacket put and we all pick a
- 21:58Speaker 3: moment from my jacket, Please a moment for this jacket.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I did.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Chick me up.
- 22:05Speaker 1: He cracks me up. He did have like a nice
- 22:07Speaker 1: little like sweater under his jacket. He looks great, he
- 22:10Speaker 1: always does.
- 22:10Speaker 4: He could dress. Yeah, he dressed as well.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:14Speaker 1: So they see each other and they hug, and nobody
- 22:17Speaker 1: says anything about the other one's hair, which was surprising.
- 22:20Speaker 1: The one was like, God, your hair is fucked up.
- 22:24Speaker 1: The other one's like, yeah, cool, look at yours. So
- 22:29Speaker 1: Brandon says to Robert, He's like, man, I've been in
- 22:32Speaker 1: here like one day.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Man, this place, this place, ain't it? Man? This place
- 22:34Speaker 2: in it?
- 22:36Speaker 1: And doctor Jeff comes in and Robert gets really teary
- 22:40Speaker 1: and he says life is going by him, and he
- 22:45Speaker 1: says the drugs have put me in a standstill, and
- 22:47Speaker 1: Jeff goes, you're.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Out of here in two days, and he got.
- 22:49Speaker 1: No plan, and he goes, well, I'm just gonna go
- 22:53Speaker 1: get a job and fill my time because in the
- 22:54Speaker 1: past I would just sell drugs to fill my time.
- 22:56Speaker 1: So I'm just gonna have to change everything, like my
- 22:58Speaker 1: whole Outlook, I'm gonna.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Just and that's the whole plan right there, to get out.
- 23:03Speaker 3: I'm going to get a job. On the first day,
- 23:05Speaker 3: I'm going to move back into my apartment. What about
- 23:10Speaker 3: like and by the way, I'm I'm sure the apartment.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I'm sure the apartment is gone. By the way, I'm
- 23:15Speaker 3: sure gone. It's probably gone. But also, can you imagine
- 23:18Speaker 3: what it looks like? No, his hair, that's.
- 23:23Speaker 2: A good one. Okay.
- 23:26Speaker 1: So Jeff says, so what are you doing to do that? Like,
- 23:30Speaker 1: what have you done? And he goes, well, I've done
- 23:32Speaker 1: a group and Jeff goes one group. He goes, yeah,
- 23:35Speaker 1: I did a group, and Jeff go Jeff goes the
- 23:38Speaker 1: twenty eight day program.
- 23:39Speaker 2: You didn't complete it. You're just ready to go and
- 23:42Speaker 2: get out of here. And you didn't do it.
- 23:43Speaker 1: You didn't do the program. And he goes when you
- 23:46Speaker 1: guys are just in. You're like throwing shots at me.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And Jeff goes, oh, so you think we're picking on you,
- 23:51Speaker 1: and he goes, no, I.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Don't think you're picking you. Just it was shot to
- 23:54Speaker 2: be Okay, I missed a couple of groups, but it
- 23:57Speaker 2: wasn't helping me at all.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Well he only went to one.
- 24:02Speaker 2: It wasn't helping me, man, And Brandon goes, okay, so
- 24:05Speaker 2: just speak up about that. Let me know.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Why why do you keep coming back here, like to prison?
- 24:11Speaker 1: And Robert goes, I'm not coming back here, Brandon. I've
- 24:13Speaker 1: been here one time since two thousand and six. And
- 24:16Speaker 1: Brandon goes, okay, bro, I visited you in juvie. It's
- 24:21Speaker 1: been the same thing since that. Man, it's over and over.
- 24:24Speaker 1: You're my brother, and I love you, man, and you're
- 24:26Speaker 1: my older brother. And this is why I'm here. So
- 24:29Speaker 1: Robert gets up and tries to leave, like he's crying.
- 24:32Speaker 3: He like he can't take anything, Like he could hardly
- 24:35Speaker 3: just sit down in a chair. Yeah, Like I feel
- 24:38Speaker 3: like there's something else going on with him that we
- 24:41Speaker 3: just don't know about.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Yeah, Like he was too worked, he was too amped
- 24:46Speaker 4: up for me.
- 24:47Speaker 2: He can't take this confrontation.
- 24:48Speaker 1: He doesn't want to hear about what he's done and
- 24:51Speaker 1: making them ns for it or anything like that. So
- 24:57Speaker 1: Jeff says, you know, Robert, we need for you to
- 25:01Speaker 1: be clean and sober. That's what we need for you.
- 25:03Speaker 1: So he gets up, he walks out. He's like, take
- 25:05Speaker 1: off my mike, take off my mic and he said.
- 25:07Speaker 2: This sucks. Fuck on you guys, you know, so the
- 25:11Speaker 2: talking head Brandon goes.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Robert just plays the victim like I'm here to help him,
- 25:15Speaker 1: and he says, I'm throwing shots, like you know, he's
- 25:18Speaker 1: out of his comfort zone in this place and I'm
- 25:21Speaker 1: here for him.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Like this is ridiculous.
- 25:23Speaker 1: So now they're going to be housed together to continue
- 25:26Speaker 1: to confront issues in the relationship. I was like, oh man,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I thought that was the end of Robert. I thought
- 25:30Speaker 1: we weren't go to see him again, but I guess
- 25:31Speaker 1: we are.
- 25:32Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know if I would have wanted
- 25:34Speaker 3: to go wanted to go back with Robert, Like is
- 25:37Speaker 3: he gonna abandon me? He's gonna tell these people to
- 25:39Speaker 3: beat me up, He's gonna give him some taffy.
- 25:41Speaker 4: To fucking give me a shiner, Like nervous.
- 25:45Speaker 2: I'd be nervous too.
- 25:47Speaker 1: So they go back to go to the unit and
- 25:49Speaker 1: the producer is asking Robert, Okay, you're gonna need to
- 25:51Speaker 1: put your mic on everything. He goes, no, I don't
- 25:53Speaker 1: see the point of this. I don't I don't see
- 25:55Speaker 1: the point of this. And the producer says, your your
- 25:57Speaker 1: brother is here in jail to have conversations with you,
- 26:02Speaker 1: so I'm talking head. Robert goes, I feel, Brad, my
- 26:05Speaker 1: brother's had time out of his life to do this
- 26:07Speaker 1: and help me and step into my life.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I mean it means a lot, but I mean.
- 26:11Speaker 4: He don't care.
- 26:13Speaker 1: So Robert says, come eat with me. So he and
- 26:16Speaker 1: Brandon take their little trays and sit at the chest
- 26:19Speaker 1: table or whatever, and they eat and they talk about
- 26:22Speaker 1: how bad the food is, and Robert's like, I mean,
- 26:24Speaker 1: this is bad, but it's definitely been worse. And Robert says, look,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I'm glad you're here and bran and Brandon says, I
- 26:31Speaker 1: just want you to have a game plan with an
- 26:34Speaker 1: action plan and doing what you're doing just lead you
- 26:37Speaker 1: back here or into the grave.
- 26:39Speaker 2: It's one of the two.
- 26:40Speaker 1: And he says, and maybe I haven't seen you in years,
- 26:43Speaker 1: but I wanted to physically present myself to you to
- 26:46Speaker 1: show you that I still love you and that I
- 26:48Speaker 1: have hope for you. Yeah, and Robert says, well, I'll
- 26:52Speaker 1: be out in two days, and so hopefully we can
- 26:54Speaker 1: keep in touch because I need positive people in my life,
- 26:57Speaker 1: and he goes, you.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Got to be that.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Those a not the people at the rehab like they're
- 27:02Speaker 3: not positive enough.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Like, no, they're too much. They're talking about addiction he
- 27:05Speaker 2: don't want to talk about.
- 27:07Speaker 4: They're just a bunch of Debbie downers in there. So yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 4: I doesn't want my brother.
- 27:11Speaker 2: No, no, no, just need positivity.
- 27:14Speaker 4: It brings them down, and it brings them down.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Those people are annoying.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and Brandy goes, you gotta fall through, man, you
- 27:20Speaker 1: gotta be consistent, you gotta be sober.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I love you, man, They hug whatever.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Day three, you want to talk about somebody who looks
- 27:26Speaker 1: like that hadn't slept in thirty years. Here comes Robert's mom.
- 27:30Speaker 3: This thing has been She looked like she saw demons
- 27:34Speaker 3: in her sleep last night, Like she just looked worn out.
- 27:39Speaker 3: And I'm sure she's probably worn out from him worrying
- 27:41Speaker 3: about him.
- 27:42Speaker 4: And maybe she's drink too much the night before.
- 27:45Speaker 3: I don't know, but she she did not come in
- 27:48Speaker 3: camera ready.
- 27:49Speaker 1: But we also don't know if Robert's her only child,
- 27:53Speaker 1: and then Brandon and Nature our only child.
- 27:56Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 27:57Speaker 4: I assumed.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Yeah, And then the other two brothers are with other mother,
- 28:02Speaker 1: So she sits with him.
- 28:03Speaker 2: You know, they hug and it's very sad.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Yeah, And she says, your Robert, if you don't make
- 28:10Speaker 1: these changes to get sober, I can't I can't be
- 28:12Speaker 1: there for you anymore.
- 28:13Speaker 4: This is it.
- 28:13Speaker 1: You can imagine. And I had a cousin in my
- 28:16Speaker 1: life who just drains the life out of you. And
- 28:22Speaker 1: I mean he my cousin eventually died, and you the
- 28:25Speaker 1: drain everything from the parent.
- 28:28Speaker 2: The parents get divorced over it because.
- 28:30Speaker 1: One parent wants to wants to give all the money
- 28:33Speaker 1: and the other parent wants to tough love it, and
- 28:35Speaker 1: you'll get divorced over it. And then one parent loses
- 28:38Speaker 1: all their money to this one kid.
- 28:39Speaker 4: It's awful.
- 28:42Speaker 2: And that's the situation here.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I feel like she has given every penny everything she
- 28:45Speaker 1: had to get him in and out of detox and
- 28:48Speaker 1: rehab and everything.
- 28:49Speaker 3: And so and it's just all been, I mean, a
- 28:52Speaker 3: waste because he just wasn't.
- 28:55Speaker 1: He's not on board. He's not on board. So the
- 29:00Speaker 1: brothers talk to doctor Jeff and Roberts. So Robert says,
- 29:05Speaker 1: you know, I've had a I guess the brothers aren't
- 29:10Speaker 1: with her yet, right.
- 29:13Speaker 3: No, no, no, they're together, And then sitting there, Yeah,
- 29:16Speaker 3: I think his mom was just really yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 4: She would.
- 29:18Speaker 3: She acts like she had never seen a chair before
- 29:20Speaker 3: in her life. I don't know if you noticed it
- 29:22Speaker 3: or not. I'm like, bitch, it's a chair, Sit in it.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Why are you just standing there? Look like it's for you.
- 29:29Speaker 3: She the lady brought it. Right.
- 29:32Speaker 4: It was like she's just she seen some ship.
- 29:35Speaker 2: That's right. And she's probably scared of her kid too.
- 29:38Speaker 3: I bet that's well, and also probably afraid that she's
- 29:41Speaker 3: in prison. Yeah, all men's prison.
- 29:46Speaker 4: If something breaks out, she's fucked.
- 29:48Speaker 2: You can't look at that. Doctor Jeff can't offend you.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Well, look what's he gonna do.
- 29:53Speaker 2: He came with this pretty loafer.
- 29:55Speaker 3: If anyone can thrive in prison, it is Todd Christly
- 29:59Speaker 3: and doctor Jeff.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Okay, listen, listen, we're not saying okay.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 2: So they're talking to doctor.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Jeff and Robert says, you know, I had a long
- 30:07Speaker 1: night to think about, you know, my behavior or whatever,
- 30:10Speaker 1: and I'm I'm really angry, but mostly at myself.
- 30:14Speaker 2: And Jeff goes, twelve hours, man, you're out of here.
- 30:17Speaker 1: So as brothers, what was the thing between the two
- 30:20Speaker 1: of you, And Robert says, I don't know. Brandon had
- 30:24Speaker 1: me go to the store or something and I stole
- 30:26Speaker 1: sixty dollars and Brandy goes, it's not even near anywhere.
- 30:33Speaker 2: What happened? What are you talking about?
- 30:34Speaker 1: He says, I was asleep in my room and I
- 30:38Speaker 1: woke up and had a text message from the bank
- 30:41Speaker 1: saying a couple one hundred dollars had been taken.
- 30:44Speaker 2: And Robert goes, huh. He goes, oh shit, I thought
- 30:47Speaker 2: I just went to the store.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Brandy goes, yeah, Well, later after you came into my
- 30:53Speaker 1: room and saw I was super pissed off at you.
- 30:55Speaker 1: You told me I shouldn't have sept my pen as
- 30:57Speaker 1: my birthday, like it's your fault.
- 31:01Speaker 2: You shouldn't have had your.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Pen your pen set it is your birthday, which you know,
- 31:05Speaker 1: by the way, that is stupid.
- 31:06Speaker 3: But it is stupid, especially when you know you have
- 31:09Speaker 3: like a crackhead in the house who knows your birthday.
- 31:12Speaker 2: It's awful.
- 31:14Speaker 1: And he goes and he goes, that's what you said
- 31:16Speaker 1: to me, And Robert's said hmm, and Robert goes, my bad, he.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Has no recollection.
- 31:21Speaker 1: He goes, either way, I did that and that was
- 31:23Speaker 1: my bad, and I'm sorry, Like he's like, I don't
- 31:25Speaker 1: remember that.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I thought I went to this store whatever. Yeah, remember.
- 31:30Speaker 1: So Jeff goes, Okay, so you burn that bridge with
- 31:33Speaker 1: your brother. What has happened with your mom, who is
- 31:37Speaker 1: a shell of a human sitting here, who didn't know
- 31:40Speaker 1: what a chair was, and she's looking at these kids
- 31:42Speaker 1: with this fucked up hair and thinking where did I
- 31:44Speaker 1: go wrong?
- 31:44Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 31:45Speaker 1: So yep, he goes, I've hurt my mom mostly for
- 31:50Speaker 1: being a bad father. That's been the worst for her.
- 31:54Speaker 1: So we don't know if mom had to take this baby.
- 31:57Speaker 1: We don't know if if mom has had a hard
- 32:00Speaker 1: being able to see the kid because maybe the baby
- 32:02Speaker 1: man says no, like, we don't know because they focus
- 32:05Speaker 1: too much of the show on the first part of
- 32:08Speaker 1: him being in prison, before they need to go right
- 32:10Speaker 1: in and do three days of this. I agree yeah,
- 32:15Speaker 1: and she's he says, you know. The mom says, we
- 32:17Speaker 1: were so close when he was young, but around sixteen
- 32:21Speaker 1: to twenty he got in the system and it just escalated.
- 32:24Speaker 1: In his twenties, he's been on drugs. He knows, he's
- 32:28Speaker 1: put me through hell and back again. I have been
- 32:30Speaker 1: to neighborhoods and places I should have never been. Ooh,
- 32:34Speaker 1: that's theery, And she says, and I had. She's either
- 32:38Speaker 1: had to pick him up or take him.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Five yeah, of course whatever, looking for.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Him, looking for him yeah, And she says, I have
- 32:45Speaker 1: no idea why I've done all these things, but I've
- 32:48Speaker 1: tried to save him. I've tried to pick up the
- 32:51Speaker 1: pieces and he doesn't have a plan. And if he
- 32:53Speaker 1: doesn't have a plan, I have to let him go.
- 32:56Speaker 1: So now he's like, now your own mother is saying.
- 33:00Speaker 2: To let you go. I'm done.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yeah, So Jeff goes, Okay, So you want to be
- 33:05Speaker 1: a good dad and a good son for your mom,
- 33:08Speaker 1: And he says, more than anything, I want to do
- 33:10Speaker 1: it for my mom.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Now, I want to tell you something right now.
- 33:13Speaker 1: And people that are in addiction in recovery, they will
- 33:16Speaker 1: that's the one thing they'll correct you on every time.
- 33:19Speaker 1: You're not doing it for your mom, your wife, your brother.
- 33:22Speaker 1: You have to do it for yourself. Once you can
- 33:24Speaker 1: get selfish and do it for yourself, then everything else
- 33:26Speaker 1: will work itself out. Yeah, but he's saying I want
- 33:29Speaker 1: to do it for my mom, and doctor Jeff is
- 33:31Speaker 1: not correcting him.
- 33:33Speaker 3: I think that's just just like okay, any glemmer of hope,
- 33:38Speaker 3: if that's what you want to hold on to. But
- 33:40Speaker 3: now I agree, you have to want things for yourself.
- 33:42Speaker 3: It's just like losing weight you have. You don't do
- 33:44Speaker 3: it so you can get a boyfriend. You do it
- 33:46Speaker 3: because you do it for you to be healthier, happier.
- 33:52Speaker 1: But now I have a note that Kim comes in
- 33:54Speaker 1: here now, so maybe she sorry that one fruit flaw.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I said, I'm the last one standing. I'm going to
- 34:01Speaker 1: avenge my brothers.
- 34:03Speaker 4: I'm doing it for my brothers.
- 34:07Speaker 1: So now maybe Kim wasn't in there. I don't know,
- 34:09Speaker 1: so maybe what we were listen.
- 34:11Speaker 3: It was like still figuring out what a chair was.
- 34:13Speaker 3: She was still furi Yeah, she had to google it.
- 34:17Speaker 3: She's like, let me google what is.
- 34:20Speaker 2: So Robert is hysterically crying when his mom is Yeah,
- 34:23Speaker 2: and she's like, it's okay.
- 34:25Speaker 1: But I think they told her don't try to like
- 34:27Speaker 1: sit by him or hug him or like you go
- 34:29Speaker 1: over there, like don't try to coddle him too much. Yeah,
- 34:32Speaker 1: And Jeff says, I really want Jeff says, okay, Robert
- 34:38Speaker 1: really wants to be sober. He wants to do it
- 34:40Speaker 1: for you, and he wants to do for his son,
- 34:43Speaker 1: and he wants to do it for Brandon, but he
- 34:45Speaker 1: doesn't have a plan. And Jeff says, Kim, for years,
- 34:49Speaker 1: you've enabled him, but this is it. This is it now, Kim.
- 34:53Speaker 1: And she says, I now have to worry about my
- 34:57Speaker 1: own health. I can't be doing this. So she either
- 35:01Speaker 1: has a health issue or you know, maybe she has
- 35:03Speaker 1: cancer or something. But she's like I and maybe she's
- 35:07Speaker 1: just so worn down from the years of stress and stress,
- 35:09Speaker 1: and this last arrest was like I can't do it anymore.
- 35:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna die trying to help you exactly,
- 35:17Speaker 1: and she says, if you don't pull it together this time,
- 35:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to let you go, like this is it.
- 35:21Speaker 1: And so Di, I mean, in his mind, he's like,
- 35:22Speaker 1: she's not gonna give you any more money, you know.
- 35:27Speaker 1: So Jeff says, let's talk about what we're gonna do.
- 35:30Speaker 1: We're going to love you through it. It's not it's
- 35:34Speaker 1: not what he needs. Robert, Robert says, I'm gonna do it.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do a program. And
- 35:41Speaker 1: he says, because I'm scared to go home, because you
- 35:43Speaker 1: know what I'm gonna do. You know what I'm gonna do.
- 35:47Speaker 2: So okay, so he's admitting going back to the marketing it.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yes, And Jeff says, you're going to get recommendations of
- 35:55Speaker 1: what to do when you leave.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Will you follow it?
- 35:58Speaker 1: And Brandon says yeah, yeah, or I'm gonna Brandon says,
- 36:03Speaker 1: you're gonna end up. Brandon says, you're gonna end up
- 36:09Speaker 1: here or six feet under, and I'm gonna walk away.
- 36:13Speaker 1: And so Brandon saying I'm gonna walk away, and Kim says,
- 36:15Speaker 1: and I will also walk away, and Robert says, there
- 36:19Speaker 1: has to be a plan. I have to come up
- 36:21Speaker 1: with a plan. There has to be well, you've had
- 36:23Speaker 1: five months, but okay.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and people have been telling you this for five
- 36:26Speaker 3: months that you need to get your shit together. Yeah,
- 36:29Speaker 3: he just needed a little doctor Jeff in his life.
- 36:31Speaker 3: I guess I got Jeff.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I got a check.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Doctor Jeff consoles him and says, it's okay, you're gonna
- 36:38Speaker 1: come up with a plan. So he hugs him, and uh,
- 36:42Speaker 1: Brandon leaves.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Day three, the brother's hug say I love you, say goodbye,
- 36:47Speaker 1: and I was like, you're gonna see him tomorrow. Okay, right,
- 36:50Speaker 1: Brandon says he's okay in these walls.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Okay, is he?
- 36:58Speaker 1: But you know, and I'm trying. I'm trying, I will
- 37:00Speaker 1: be you know, we're okay. But if he's not willing
- 37:02Speaker 1: to do the work and you know, get better, I
- 37:05Speaker 1: can't watch him kill himself.
- 37:06Speaker 2: So we can't see him in eight years.
- 37:08Speaker 1: So anyway, I mean, I just keep going back to that.
- 37:12Speaker 1: I'm like, it's not like you good long time.
- 37:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:16Speaker 2: So, but I mean earlier Robert said he hadn't seen
- 37:19Speaker 2: him in ten years.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Well that's Robert saying that I got to know with
- 37:23Speaker 3: the counting that Brandon did.
- 37:25Speaker 4: Okay, you're right.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:26Speaker 1: One day later, Robert is leaving jail. He plans to
- 37:30Speaker 1: go right to and aftercare and get set up with
- 37:33Speaker 1: services in IOP and go to AA and make a
- 37:37Speaker 1: plan and he lost his job. What you're in jail
- 37:40Speaker 1: for five months? Well you were talking months, so yeah. Yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 2: He says he's used.
- 37:46Speaker 1: To doing the same thing over and over and over,
- 37:48Speaker 1: but now he's going to do a total life change.
- 37:50Speaker 1: He knows it's possible. In the end, all you have
- 37:53Speaker 1: his family, and he hopes his brother is waiting when
- 37:56Speaker 1: he walks out, and of course he is, because that's
- 37:58Speaker 1: what we're doing here.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I hope we get an episode where.
- 38:02Speaker 2: They tell us about everybody at the end.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Well that they I hope we get an episode where
- 38:07Speaker 3: it is a shaker that the person didn't go pick
- 38:10Speaker 3: them up.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Oh, which would be horrible.
- 38:14Speaker 2: That would be horrible.
- 38:15Speaker 1: But maybe the person's horrible when they go in and
- 38:18Speaker 1: they're like, well, fuck it, I'm not gonna teach you.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Maybe these first two episodes are trying to give us
- 38:23Speaker 1: good stories because next week you're gonna hit his.
- 38:25Speaker 4: Hard with the negory. I think so.
- 38:29Speaker 1: So Brandon says, I'm here to take you to the program,
- 38:32Speaker 1: and and he says it's day one. You know, he's
- 38:35Speaker 1: going to build his support system and maybe it'll be
- 38:38Speaker 1: all right, And uh, Robert goes, this is hard man,
- 38:44Speaker 1: but I gotta have tunnel vision.
- 38:45Speaker 2: It's hard.
- 38:45Speaker 1: It's a tough road, you know. Everybody hopes he sticks
- 38:48Speaker 1: to it. Okay, three months.
- 38:55Speaker 3: And see I knew it was bad when they said
- 38:57Speaker 3: three months because remember last episode it.
- 39:00Speaker 4: Was one week, so he's had a lot more time.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Okay, so three months, so I think, Okay, So this
- 39:07Speaker 1: is Brandon talking and he says, I saw him and
- 39:10Speaker 1: it was all positive. But then after a month he
- 39:12Speaker 1: got arrested for stealing, and we forced him into a
- 39:16Speaker 1: rehab facility and we hope that there he can get that.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Let me tell you something that a rehab facility, they're
- 39:21Speaker 1: gonna make you talk about addiction a lot, like all
- 39:23Speaker 1: day all.
- 39:24Speaker 4: That's their job.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's not. He's not gonna like it there.
- 39:28Speaker 2: They're gonna make him.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Talk too addiction. You better like it. He better like
- 39:32Speaker 4: it and like it quick. So he's gonna be fucking miserable.
- 39:35Speaker 1: And he says, we forced him into a rehab facility
- 39:37Speaker 1: and we hope he can get the help there that
- 39:39Speaker 1: he needs. I want to be there for him for
- 39:41Speaker 1: good and bad. Well, I mean, you just said you
- 39:43Speaker 1: were gonna cut him off, and then you didn't do it.
- 39:47Speaker 3: I think it's, you know, easier to say that when
- 39:49Speaker 3: you haven't seen or really talked to them in eight years.
- 39:51Speaker 3: But then film, Yeah you know what I mean, and
- 39:55Speaker 3: it kind of melts your heart a little bit. So, yeah,
- 39:57Speaker 3: he needs the support, Yeah, he needs it. He needs
- 40:01Speaker 3: it because the boy ain't sleeping right at night, that
- 40:06Speaker 3: hadn't slept a full eight hours.
- 40:07Speaker 4: No, they don't, they have not.
- 40:10Speaker 1: He says, I want to be there for him, good
- 40:12Speaker 1: and bad, and I know it takes a village. And
- 40:14Speaker 1: then we get the screen that says Kim and Brandon
- 40:17Speaker 1: are continuing to support Robert in his sobriety. Now we
- 40:21Speaker 1: got no information about Dad, we got no information about Nathan,
- 40:25Speaker 1: but those two are going to try to help him.
- 40:29Speaker 2: If he's in a.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Facility now, a thirty day facility for somebody like this
- 40:33Speaker 1: is not even gonna sat enough scratch the surface.
- 40:36Speaker 2: The twenty eight day program wouldn't have helped.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Long term, but it would have at least gotten him started,
- 40:42Speaker 1: so when he got out, he was and he'd be
- 40:45Speaker 1: more prepared.
- 40:46Speaker 2: He would go right into one of these programs.
- 40:47Speaker 1: And the language is familiar and the type of people
- 40:50Speaker 1: are familiar. And but he just seems sort of above
- 40:53Speaker 1: it all, and you're like, you're not above it all.
- 40:57Speaker 1: You're doing heroin and fentonyls, you know, street drugs. You're
- 41:01Speaker 1: not above it all.
- 41:02Speaker 3: And that phenyl, I mean, you don't know what that
- 41:05Speaker 3: stuff is cut with, Like you're not getting straight up fenl.
- 41:08Speaker 4: And that's the scary part. That the phanandyl is bad enough,
- 41:11Speaker 4: but it's just stuff that they cut it up with.
- 41:13Speaker 3: The Macy bars. I had a friend that odd off
- 41:16Speaker 3: of it two years ago and they I mean it
- 41:22Speaker 3: was sad because they literally found them like outside in.
- 41:26Speaker 4: A field by a dumpster.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Oh god head. It was just so devastating and it
- 41:33Speaker 3: was just like.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Fuck and you're like, your life is worth more than
- 41:37Speaker 1: being found dead by it you.
- 41:39Speaker 3: Found dead like that that. Yeah, the whole thing was heartbreaking.
- 41:41Speaker 3: But that was just like too much, too too much, and.
- 41:47Speaker 1: I think too after so many years, which it seems
- 41:50Speaker 1: like this guy Robert has been so many years on
- 41:52Speaker 1: these drugs. After so many years on these drugs, you
- 41:56Speaker 1: it takes a long time for your brain to like, yeah,
- 41:59Speaker 1: wire its after being on those drugs for so long.
- 42:02Speaker 1: So it's not even like thirty days will do anything
- 42:05Speaker 1: for you except for maybe encourage you to do the
- 42:09Speaker 1: next thirty days, or encourage you to do the thirty
- 42:11Speaker 1: days after that, or even like the three hours after that.
- 42:13Speaker 4: You know, hopefully he gets it together, because you.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Know, again, we say, please, when these ten or however
- 42:22Speaker 1: from the episodes we have are done, please give us
- 42:25Speaker 1: a rolling recap.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Of everybody and so on.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Please get that boy and ambient because he needs a good,
- 42:32Speaker 3: nice sleep, because he.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Just no, then he'll start to storting it. We don't
- 42:38Speaker 1: want to store ambient keisha.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Damn.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Sorry, right, I'm sorry. That's just the truth.
- 42:45Speaker 1: People snort the ambient and then they try to stay
- 42:47Speaker 1: awake through it, and then you're supposed to get you know, real,
- 42:50Speaker 1: real crazy.
- 42:51Speaker 4: Well, I don't fall asleep with ambient.
- 42:54Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 42:55Speaker 1: My mom takes it every so often and says it
- 42:58Speaker 1: just knocks her out, works like a term.
- 43:00Speaker 4: I wish I was like that.
- 43:01Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, you got to take take six
- 43:04Speaker 1: tries to put you down.
- 43:07Speaker 4: I might still wake up in the middle of the night.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Well I don't. I don't take any tries. I don't
- 43:11Speaker 2: take any tries anymore. Not great.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Yeah, one day she told me goes eventually. Our goal
- 43:17Speaker 3: is to get you off with a treas bitch you Lyne.
- 43:22Speaker 3: I'm not a part of that meeting.
- 43:24Speaker 4: Like what.
- 43:27Speaker 2: James and I had a discussion and we're just letting
- 43:29Speaker 2: you know. No listen.
- 43:30Speaker 1: If it works for you and you get a good,
- 43:31Speaker 1: solid nights sleep, that's good. I could probably use a
- 43:34Speaker 1: little little tries here and there. It's just like I
- 43:38Speaker 1: have such a hard time falling asleep. That's why the problem.
- 43:44Speaker 1: You know, some people go through menopause and you really
- 43:47Speaker 1: can't sleep, and and you're hot and you're cold.
- 43:51Speaker 2: And you got a dog laying on you.
- 43:52Speaker 1: It sounds like I'm just talking about myself, which I am.
- 43:56Speaker 1: No judgments here, No judgment here, double double dog in
- 44:00Speaker 1: the bed, everybody. That's our episode. This is Family lock Up.
- 44:04Speaker 1: It's an A and E on Thursday nights. If you're
- 44:06Speaker 1: not watching it, if you want to see the bad hairdoos,
- 44:08Speaker 1: you're gonna have to go and check it out.
- 44:12Speaker 3: You owe it to yourself to see these bed haircuts or.
- 44:19Speaker 4: I don't even know if we should call them haircut.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Well, Robert has an excuse. He's in prison and he
- 44:23Speaker 1: just has somebody chopping that up. With scissors, like he didn't.
- 44:25Speaker 1: You know, that's but but Briandon had no excuse.
- 44:28Speaker 2: He did that shit on.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Purpose, and he thinks it looks really good. And how
- 44:32Speaker 1: did he keep that going for three days? He just
- 44:33Speaker 1: didn't wash his hair because he couldn't. He could have
- 44:37Speaker 1: brought his gel products into gel it Forward.
- 44:40Speaker 2: And why did he keep that going? He just did
- 44:43Speaker 2: He just didn't wash his hair. He's like, I ain't
- 44:44Speaker 2: getting in that shower.
- 44:46Speaker 4: He played ping pong in prison.
- 44:51Speaker 1: All right, guys, well, here's hoping next week is it's
- 44:53Speaker 1: maybe maybe it's a girl.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Maybe we get a lady.
- 44:56Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, hopefully we get.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Some bad chop instead of.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Yeah, addiction.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, because we need to just a break
- 45:06Speaker 3: from the addiction to something else.
- 45:08Speaker 4: We need a little break, feel better about making fun
- 45:10Speaker 4: of it.
- 45:11Speaker 2: What's another crime?
- 45:12Speaker 1: Could it just be just a full like car ring,
- 45:15Speaker 1: I just stole them, oh you know. Or it could
- 45:17Speaker 1: be somebody that's just the kingpin of the drug dealers
- 45:20Speaker 1: but never did drugs.
- 45:21Speaker 4: That'd be good. Yeah, like Montana Mills.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Like Montana Mills did never do the drugs, just was
- 45:26Speaker 1: the drug dealer. Yeah, we would take that over this sadness.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I agree, Yeah yeah, Okay, listen, guys, we're trying to
- 45:35Speaker 1: make it funny.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Everybody followed Keisha.
- 45:37Speaker 1: She has a podcast, The Liberta with Keisha, and make
- 45:40Speaker 1: sure you're following her on social media as well. Please
- 45:42Speaker 1: make sure you're following me over on the Instagram, the TikTok,
- 45:45Speaker 1: Pink Shade Pod, Pink Shape Podcast. Just there it is,
- 45:48Speaker 1: and we'll be back next Friday for an episode of
- 45:52Speaker 1: Family lock Up. And here's hope where we get a
- 45:54Speaker 1: non sad prisoner.
- 45:55Speaker 4: Okay, you might have throw on your fingers, ye,
