- 0:00Because fuck you. That's why it is a founding member of the Odd Pods
- 0:03Media Network. But I don't know for me, like I love these games
- 0:40with you guys when we're playing them because I don't give a fuck if I
- 0:44want to lose. I'm just having fun. I'm playing with my friends and
- 0:46trying to make somebody on the board. Fuck what in the games had me
- 0:54until that last bit like wait what? I'm like wait wait what? Oh
- 1:00yeah, I forgot the fuck hut stone age. We gotta play that again.
- 1:03That's what we should do. We should listening. One of the actions
- 1:07you can take to send two of your workers to a hut space and they
- 1:12produce a third worker. So how does it happen? Just when two meeople's
- 1:21love each other very much, they go into a hut, they disappear into
- 1:23a hut, and then they show up with gets on top of the lady
- 1:29meeple that searchs his meeple penis to meepal people his meeness you. Oh my
- 1:38god, I don't think we're gonna have a better intro than that one.
- 1:49Welcome to b F y tw because fuck you. That's why nothing personal.
- 1:56We are having a chill show. And we're just kind of enjoy each other's
- 2:00company and catching up as it were, talking about playing stone Age and making
- 2:07meatpals. Fuck you do you know? Yeah, So we're just chilling today,
- 2:17no real agenda, no games, just kind of relaxed and hanging out,
- 2:23getting away from the stresses recently. And you may have noticed, because
- 2:27of the audio quality, at least coming from my end, that this is
- 2:30a remote show. And that's because our neck of the woods in western New
- 2:36York just got hit with an ice storm. So basically every surface for like
- 2:42thirty miles is covered in a sheet hockey skates or ice skates. You're not
- 2:51going anywhere. Like I came out to the studio and almost felt like four
- 2:53times like no joke, And I was like, what the fuck, it's
- 2:58literally treacherous. Were like, nah, not doing that, fam na um.
- 3:02But we are. We are chilling. So um, yeah, what's
- 3:07been going on, guys, What's what's been up lately? Um, no
- 3:10joke, I haven't. I mean we've been coming up with some extra Patreon
- 3:15stuff, obviously because love Patreon. Yeah, if you ever want to check
- 3:20out our extra bonus content, we send a ton of it over to Patreon.
- 3:23Dot com slash b fy tw it's only five bucks. Yeah, that
- 3:27reminds me I need to whip up some more Aaron Murders people clips for you,
- 3:30because I imagine you'll be running out soon. I just did the latest
- 3:34one, a vp amp episode four just released last Friday, yesterday, Episode
- 3:42four, Yeah, so fantastic. What we did is we teased a little
- 3:46bit. We gave. We gave everybody a taste. As long as you
- 3:50were just following us on Patreon, not even subscribe, just following us.
- 3:53You got to see the first two for free, and then after that everybody
- 3:58from the point tier, the two dollar tier it up, gets to see
- 4:01those videos. So now we got something extra for that point tier, that
- 4:05support. So we're starting to give everybody a little bit more if we can.
- 4:10Among other things. Yes, yeah, it quite literally pays to be
- 4:15a member of our Patreon because we just we have so much extra stuff that
- 4:19just gets thrown up there. And aside from that, I have been enjoying
- 4:25your YouTube videos and the two of you, Oh my god, dude,
- 4:30like I've been trying to get back into streaming real bad, and I'm glad
- 4:35I've done away with the video cam because that helped a lot. Now I
- 4:41just got to work on the whole not sitting there for dead silent for like
- 4:44minutes on end. I can't help it. I'm also high while playing video
- 4:46games, but naturally, what games have we been playing. We've been playing
- 4:51a variety of games, but we seem to gravitate towards our favorites most of
- 4:57all. I tend to play a lot of World Warcraft. You tend to
- 4:59play a lot of Call of Duty. Yes, yes, I am fucking
- 5:01Call of Duty whore. Like no, I can't stop. I played six
- 5:06or seven matches already this morning, like before noon. I'm just like,
- 5:10I love that game so much. But I've been having a lot of fun,
- 5:14and I can definitely tell my skill has increased over the last couple of
- 5:16months to be playing practically every day. And now you've been joining me on
- 5:20which has been a riot, and we've been both streaming it to our respective
- 5:26Twitch streams, but we have also been placing it on our YouTube channel,
- 5:30um which is which is befw yep YouTube dot com. I can't remember before
- 5:35I still if I change it to beyw podcast, so that way was more
- 5:41distinct about my god, I don't think I did. I know it still
- 5:44should still be. I mean it's pretty obvious. It's our logo. Yeah,
- 5:47I mean like there's nothing else like it on YouTube. You find it
- 5:49on our site either, but yeah, it's we've been freaking everything that we've
- 5:54been streaming individually. We've been throwing up on the show YouTube just for some
- 5:57extra stuff for people to watch. Yeah, because some visual entertainment. We
- 6:01are normally you know of the audio, uh persuasion, but media persuasion.
- 6:09But what else we've been We're doing VR together. We've been streaming VR together
- 6:14as well. We've been doing Contractors, which is a Call of Duty type
- 6:16game, but in VR. Um. Look, it's been a very cold
- 6:19winter. We've just been playing. But it's nice because all he's been modifying
- 6:25it. We played a Stormtroopers already with multiple Star Wars weapons and we just
- 6:30modded it again where they've unlucked like what thirty other guns or something, yeah,
- 6:35or something stupid and all these different armors and gardais and shit. So
- 6:39we get to jump on that soon. But today today I was able to
- 6:46get Xbox Game Pass game display and work over my VR and it's No Man's
- 6:53Sky. Oh yes all, ye already started in the VR. You actually
- 7:00got to right first. I started it before the recent update. The reason
- 7:04update has has improved its quality immensely. Beforehand, I wasn't even wasn't even
- 7:10batting an eye atic because it was it was just functional enough. But now
- 7:15it seems to be a full fledged, like VR version of No Man's Guy.
- 7:20I was in today for about an hour and a half, maybe just
- 7:24because I'm setting it up, because I had to start it over like brand
- 7:27new and go through the whole intro thing and just no joke, the game
- 7:30loading, when you're going through that star system, you see the random planet
- 7:33names and all that people made. Being in that at the inn the VR
- 7:39was insane. But getting into that fucking ship and flying off man and being
- 7:46like, oh my god, being in the cockpit felt like actually being in
- 7:49the cockpit again, Like, no fucking joke, It felt so nice.
- 7:54I'm like, after we're done with this, I might be jumping on that
- 7:57tonight. I know tomorrow for a fact, we are playing oh Man Sky,
- 8:00So if you want to hang out with us tomorrow, we're jumping into
- 8:03that bitch for sure. Like wow, oh dude, it is so beautiful
- 8:07like I never realized. And not only have it cranky on settings, it's
- 8:09on medium. I'm like, no, this is going to fucking high tomorrow
- 8:13because I'm so I'm putting all Command Rise in seven fucking kick ass ad that
- 8:18bitch. It's gonna be great. I feel like, oh, I'm so
- 8:22excited. And the best thing is, I don't know much about this game.
- 8:24I really don't, but what I have been learning and watching Augie play
- 8:28and what he's taught me, I'm having a lot of fun and I just
- 8:31know it's gonna be so much more fun if we can all play together.
- 8:33You know. Hell yeah, man, Like you have that game, don't
- 8:37you, because I think you played it as well. Oh yeah, I've
- 8:39got no man sky. I got it on a goog back when it launched
- 8:45out nice and I liked it back then, like, and this is before
- 8:50they apparently have added a whole metric ton of stuff yeah to the game,
- 8:54like it's it's huge now. And yeah, you know it didn't originally have
- 8:58co op play, like you could you could go to a planet where your
- 9:01friend had been, but it was impossible to meet up, I believe.
- 9:05To put it into perspective, I think for like almost a year after its
- 9:11initial release, the game went from a full priced game to like maybe ten
- 9:16dollars. Holy shit. Yeah, it did not go over very well.
- 9:22The company behind No Man's Guy, which I can't remember at the moment um,
- 9:28I think it's is it Hello Games? It might be. They've come
- 9:31a long way. They've they've basically they went in with a promise and it
- 9:35was not their greatest work and they but instead of giving up on it,
- 9:39they spent pretty much the entirety of it's lifetime now just improving it. And
- 9:46even better is they've been improving it without cost to the players. So yeah,
- 9:50which is they're not they're not asking for expansion, although I think I
- 9:54think now recently they released an actual expansion. I could be wrong, but
- 9:58they might been talking about it. But at this point they've earned that right.
- 10:03Yeah, they come back because up until now, and it's been several
- 10:07years at this point, all of the updates have been free, like all
- 10:09of them, um, and they've added a ton of content literally free of
- 10:13charge, So that that alone is reason enough to give No Man Sky a
- 10:18shot, even if you hadn't before. Well, and even better, it's
- 10:20on sale right now on Steam two for half price. Wow. Yeah,
- 10:24I saw if exploring a massive, massive, procedurally generated universe filled with all
- 10:33sorts of crazy planets and creatures and uh and weird alien species and whatnot.
- 10:41If that sounds like you're bagged, then check out No Man Sky because it
- 10:45is. It is a thoroughly enjoyable little crafting slash survival slash exploration game that's
- 10:52unlike anything else I've ever played. For sure, it's cool. Not sponsored,
- 10:58by the way, No, yeah, not sponsored, just just recommendation.
- 11:05Yeah, it's definitely huge, but yeah, I look forward to playing
- 11:09more of it tomorrow, especially with Augie. If we can get you in
- 11:11there, and it'd be fucking cool. We can get a b f y
- 11:13tw planet, I say, we fucking do it. The planet I'm on
- 11:18right now has acid rain, so I gotta take all my buildings shit and
- 11:22go somewhere else. We fill it with creatures that look like bombs. Oh
- 11:28my god, yeah we will. We will spend the next several months scouring
- 11:33the galaxy looking for the planet that has equal parts creatures that look like bombs,
- 11:37plants that look like we leafs, and uh, and building buildings that
- 11:41look like a ticking ball. Yeah, just because in a somewhat livable atmosphere,
- 11:46I'll be happy. Oh my god, there's gonna make a giant bomb.
- 11:52It's just the shape of a bombs. Oh my god. Okay,
- 11:56I don't again. I'm new. I don't know much about this game.
- 12:00How many players can actually play together at once? Is it unlimited as MMO?
- 12:03So I don't know. It's like, how many can you play?
- 12:07Like, say, I want to get a bunch of bfy T people together.
- 12:11Can you do that? Or no? It's complicated, Algie, you
- 12:13don't have to get to your phone. Now, we can look this up.
- 12:16Okay, it's complicated because the way their multiplayer system works is, yes,
- 12:22you can invite friends. I don't know how many friends you can invite
- 12:26into an area. But if you went to, like, say, I
- 12:31don't know, a planet that had multiple players on it, I don't know
- 12:35how many would actually show up on your screen because they might still only allow
- 12:39a limited amount. Oh, I'm on, I'm on the I'm on the
- 12:41wiki right now. Yeah. The game can currently be played by multiple people
- 12:46together online in parties of two to four players. Okay, now up to
- 12:52thirty two players on a PC or eight on console can be in the same
- 12:56instance of a star system. Start. You could theoretically get thirty two people
- 13:03together, all playing on PC, into the same into the same instance of
- 13:07a star system and play together. They just wouldn't be in the same party
- 13:11and probably wouldn't share resources or whatever other bonuses you get from being in a
- 13:18party, but you could probably meet in a star station, have everybody get
- 13:20together and build two to four. Yeah, that'd be kind of cool.
- 13:24Could you imagine, Like, all right, anybody who's in the discord,
- 13:28we're all gonna go to the stars, and we're in the star system.
- 13:30We're going to this fucking in this instance and come hang out. We're gonna
- 13:33build a giant base that looks like a dick and ball, Yes, next
- 13:39to the Java Spaceport. Like they'd be fucking cool. Man, Like,
- 13:45oh, this just made me so happy to play games tomorrow. If all
- 13:50that's gonna happen tomorrow, well, if you find a planet, if of
- 14:00it, we could always jump over to pay Day two, which I learned
- 14:03this week. Ye features the voice of a frequent contributor to our show,
- 14:11the multiple episode guest David Atovino, blew min. I had no idea.
- 14:20His wife apparently had made him a new banner to show off on his you
- 14:26know, his voice actor page and you know, to take with him the
- 14:28conventions and whatnot. And on the banner was the logo for Payday two.
- 14:33And I was like, huh, did you do voices for Payday two?
- 14:37We play paid two. I've been playing pay Day two for years? And
- 14:41he was like, yeah, no. Back in like twenty seventeen, twenty
- 14:46eighteen, Starbree Studios called me in and just had me do some lines for
- 14:50you know, just a cop. And I was like, you have got
- 14:56to be kidding me, uh, And sure enough, he actually he sent
- 15:00me what he could. You know, obviously, you know, some of
- 15:01the stuff was confidential. H R. What's what's the word? Not dmade,
- 15:07but yeah, and D A lot of it was probably ND eight.
- 15:11But what he did send me was like, oh, I've I've heard these
- 15:15lines before. They were they were generic cop lines, were like greade or
- 15:18let's get the motherfuckers and you know, stuff like that. And I was
- 15:22like, oh shit, has Dave been in our fucking game this fucking time?
- 15:28Because we played a lot. I have played that game enough to prestige
- 15:33twenty eight times. Hey, So to be fair, I would a prestige
- 15:39if I knew how to all those times. I'm just an idiot. I
- 15:43know. We played paid A one for a while, then we jumped to
- 15:45this and this thing was just blew that game out of the water. Yeah.
- 15:48But the fact that Dave, he's playing one of the cops the whole
- 15:52time, he's just mind blowing me, Like, we got motherfucker. We
- 15:58got to stream the three of us, or I'll record the three of us
- 16:00playing next time and we'll try to haunt him down and we'll just send him
- 16:04the clips in Twitter. I'll just keep tagging him every like fifteen second clip
- 16:07of a and we we we have to at least one time like convince him
- 16:15to join our team. Oh my god. Yes, for those listening who
- 16:19don't know Payday two, you're playing as bank robbers and thieves basically, uh,
- 16:25you know, basically pulling heists at various locations. And one of the
- 16:29things you can do is you can you can convince an officer to you know,
- 16:33give up, basically surrender, put their gun down, and then cuff
- 16:37themselves. But there's a special ability you can then do to turn them to
- 16:42your team. They basically just go oh shit, and then they pull their
- 16:49gut out and start shooting the other police with you. Yeah, they just
- 16:53join you. It's amazing. I'm sure is a thing that happens in real
- 16:57heists all the time all the Hey. You you're on my team now,
- 17:03Okay, okay, sorry, just amazing. I'm offering you zero money and
- 17:15no promise of survival. Fuck it, I'm in. Let's do it.
- 17:18You had it. You had to get this job anyway. You had me
- 17:22at zero. Oh man, all right, I think that's a good time
- 17:30for a break. That sounds good. All right, all right, let's
- 17:33take a quick break. You'll hear from our advertisers and we'll be right back
- 17:37right after this. Hi. I'm Shannon, I'm Jamie. We're Married with
- 17:49Television, Married with TV dot Com. We are a couple of Hollywood dorbies
- 17:55on the outskirts of the film the TV industry, and we talk about our
- 17:57favorite TV shows, music, good mo reason. Sometimes they talk back to
- 18:02us. Our podcast is Married with Television One Word on Stitcher, Spotify by
- 18:07two weeks, been SoundCloud, Possibody, Amazonestly, and we are a proud
- 18:12member of the Odd Pods Media network. Harry looking, Hey, welcome back.
- 18:36It's it's part two of our rather chill show. Um as per usual
- 18:41one card two. We usually start off part two by um uh listening to
- 18:47some voicemails or emails, but we don't have either of those, but we
- 18:48do have some comments on our Patreon page Stevie, is that right? Heck
- 18:53yes or um yeah, we got one from actually, so if you do
- 18:57join our patreon, if you didn't know the extra content some of it is,
- 19:00we will send our pre show and some of our stuff that we cut
- 19:03out of our breaks to our patrons. So this is actually a comment on
- 19:07one of the pre shows, one fifty three in Breaks said I'm dying laughing,
- 19:11cannot wait for this episode, and that episode was actually the one fifty
- 19:15three, that one that came out last week on Thursday. The Fink Kink
- 19:18Stink that was from Kristin Farley also commented on the same episodes David m.
- 19:29He said, Yes, I've been waiting for this episode since it was announced
- 19:32this week and it's early. Thank you guys so much. That's one of
- 19:34the other bonuses of being in the Patreon. You get the episodes a few
- 19:37days earlier than everybody else do as well. Yeah that's true. And then
- 19:41our last commentists from Kristen again, what a great episode made me laugh so
- 19:45hard. Bless you Aaron, for you have the patience of a saint.
- 19:52And then I wrote back sbfy, we definitely need to get Aaron a gift
- 19:56basket or something to put up with us. So those were the Patreon comments
- 20:03for this. You know, I enjoy everything. You know that is it
- 20:07his patience or his punishment heaven or hell, Aaron, It's kind of my
- 20:17fetish at this pace. I can't even get it up. If my friends
- 20:21aren't driving me crazy, like Stevie, just just just say some real annoying
- 20:29shit into this microphone so I can use it later. And wow. Anyway,
- 20:44uh hockey, do you do you want to go next? Or should
- 20:47I go next? I can go next. I'm an issue. Oh yeah,
- 20:49go ahead, fuck it, I'm going next do the thing. I
- 20:56have been having a lot of fun and I haven't been able to talk about
- 20:59it much since. I think the last time we did a chill show maybe,
- 21:02but you remember that mini PC I was talking about the one that was
- 21:06going to take a month to show up something. Uh. Yeah, the
- 21:11the it's the chatray uh g one Max I think is its official name.
- 21:18Um. I found it just as the g one on Alley Express, but
- 21:22I bought it directly from the company that quote unquote manufactures them. Although I
- 21:27think they're I think they're more of like just a reseller because they have tons
- 21:32of different models that I know other companies are also selling. So so this
- 21:37thing is about the size of a large book and say maybe maybe a Lord
- 21:42of the Rings hardcovers. I described it as being the size of a good
- 21:48steak. It would be the size of a really good steak. It's that
- 21:51big. Um, you probably couldn't finish it. But it is demonstrably many
- 21:59many times aaller than my my actual PC. But the power this thing puts
- 22:03out is just insane. It came bare bones. It had an I seven
- 22:11ten eight seventy h I think, which is a really solid uh. And
- 22:18it's only it's only three generations old CPU in it um, which is still
- 22:23impressive in my book. And it's paired I think, quite well with a
- 22:29sixteen fifty TI mobile graphics card. Nice nice now, Um, the it
- 22:37was it was bare bones, so it had no RAMS, so I had
- 22:40to furnish my own RAM. I also had to furnish my own storage,
- 22:41so I got sixteen gigs of DDR four I think thirty six hundred thirty two
- 22:48hundred. Okay, I know it was a multiple of four because it's gonna
- 22:53be but you know, reasonably fast ram H And I put in an NVMe
- 23:02one terabyte SSD. But this thing also had room for a two point five
- 23:07inch drive, so I added a two terabyte of refurbished Western Digital hard drive.
- 23:15So this thing had three terabytes out of the box of storage, which,
- 23:18as it turned out, wasn't enough. I literally filled it out,
- 23:23and then I was starting to I had to delete, go back and delete
- 23:26things because I too much space in any event, so I basically loaded it
- 23:33up with everything. I tested everything. Everything was great. Um, And
- 23:37this was like this past week. I think I posted on Facebook and I
- 23:41posted it in our our patreon only discord server. I posted pictures to our
- 23:45patreons. Got to see all those pictures, and I think Stevie threw it
- 23:49up on the actual Patreon page shortly after. Yes, and that thing is
- 23:52awesome. It even came with like led and ship, yeah, which I
- 23:56was not expecting. I thought it was literally just going to be a great
- 24:00a box with some like twinkling lights on it whenever the Internet was interacting or
- 24:03whatnot. But it actually does have rainbow led on the top cover, yeah,
- 24:08which I thought was a really nice touch. It actually does look pretty
- 24:11fucking bad ass, Like, that's pretty neat. It's it's it's pretty cool.
- 24:15I'm I'm, I'm, I'm I'm. I've been becoming more and more
- 24:18a fan of it the more I play with it. Um and the whole
- 24:22thing came to about seven hundred and fifty dollars, which isn't bad. And
- 24:26the specs in that machine like no joke, the specs and that can run
- 24:30practically every game you need to run. Yeah, literally every night. But
- 24:34it can run everything you need, everything I've thrown at. It has run
- 24:37even Cyberpunk twenty seventy seven, which is probably probably the hardest game to run
- 24:42that I currently own. Um it it runs at ten ADP at thirty fps,
- 24:49okay, not bad. If I wanted to push it to sixty,
- 24:53I could probably drop it down in seven twenty or I could even drop the
- 24:57graphic settings down to low. I think they're on medium UM at thet when
- 25:03I installed it, basically, but that's that's like the hardest thing that the
- 25:10machine has, you know, and calling it struggling is a joke, because
- 25:14thirty FPS is enough for me to play the game enjoy it. Like you
- 25:18know, I absolutely do not need sixty to enjoy every single game lay you're
- 25:22not playing against other players, so you don't really need thats a single person
- 25:27game. As long as I'm enjoying myself, that's what matters, UM.
- 25:32So, like everything I've thrown at it has been great, UM. But
- 25:37usually once I'm done testing, like it's usually like onto the next thing.
- 25:41But I can't stop playing with this thing, so I've been I've been pushing
- 25:47it UM as much as I can. In particular, this past week,
- 25:49I have spent a lot of time with upscaling, experimenting with upscaling older UM
- 25:59older game systems and emulators to higher resolutions than they originally played in really,
- 26:07so, for example, UM, I've been playing a lot of PS two
- 26:11games, PlayStation two games upscaled to ten ADP resolution, which the PlayStation two
- 26:17could not do, and the results have been kind of gorgeous, like I
- 26:26played Final Fantasy ten, and it just like I The difference was night and
- 26:33day. Like now that I've upscaled Final Fantasy ten, I can't play it
- 26:37any other way. Like it's it just looks. It looks so good,
- 26:41and now I'm literally spoiled. Now I can't go back. Um, like,
- 26:48any three D game on the PS two is going to benefit greatly from
- 26:52upscaling. Now two D stuff. The problem with upscaling is that when you
- 26:56get like two D stuff involved, usually like xt on screen text or like
- 27:02simple two D graphics like your HUD, sometimes there will be like lines you
- 27:06can see yes on the edges of them because they're not meant to be upscaled,
- 27:11you know. So upscaling does weird things, and it usually results in
- 27:14these these lines that you can see, and sometimes, depending on the game,
- 27:18sometimes it might take you out of it. And there's there's one game
- 27:22in particular I tried that just could not be upscaled at all because it broke
- 27:26everything so badly and it just looked ungodly ugly because there were so many two
- 27:32D elements that had those lines. It basically looked like lined paper and I
- 27:36was like, this is gross. This is awful, so like I think
- 27:41it's like Wild Arms Altar Code f is the game that I played at that
- 27:47just when I tried to upscale it looked terrible. But Final Fantasy ten has
- 27:51very few of those. There's only a couple that you can see sometimes,
- 27:53like on the character's hit points on screen, but it's very faint and unless
- 27:59you're looking for it, you're not even going to see it. Um.
- 28:02And that game was designed like with so much richness of color, Like it's
- 28:10just an absolutely gorgeous game to look at, especially in ten ADP, and
- 28:14I didn't stop there. Um. I also I did the same for GameCube
- 28:19and we those are also upscaled to ten ADP. Really, and I spent
- 28:26a good deal time playing Super Mario Galaxy for the first time. Really,
- 28:30I've owned it forever, I've never actually played it beyond the first ten minutes,
- 28:34but now I'm actually giving it a shot now that it's absolutely gorgeous,
- 28:40and I figured out how to configure it to be played with a with a
- 28:44three sixty controller nicely. Yeah, it's fantastic. Um. I haven't dealt
- 28:52too much in the GameCube because I mean, we if if a we game
- 28:55looks that good. A GameCube game is going to be gorgeous too. Yeah,
- 28:57although I think I did play the Mario Kart Double Dash just to just
- 29:02to see it, and if I recall, it was absolutely gorgeous. Um.
- 29:06I've also been playing around with upscaling like Dreamcast games. So even Dreamcast
- 29:11games are in full ten adpuh and they're gorgeous as well. And with the
- 29:17widescreen mod, it's just perfect. It's like, oh my god. Dreamcast
- 29:22games were generally all in four by three resolution, but there's an easy widescreen
- 29:26mod that you can apply to just about any game, and most of them
- 29:30work with it perfectly. Like it's kind of impressive how easily you can just
- 29:34change the Dreamcast over to widescreen. M and I also have been upscaling the
- 29:41PlayStation Portable the PSP really um that was if I recall like that was one
- 29:47of the first emulators that allowed up scaling, was the PPSSPP is the name
- 29:52of a young lator which is just designed to be hard to say and funny.
- 29:59But yeah, I know that even that's in like in three X resolution.
- 30:03I think it's higher than three x ten ADP. But because the PSP
- 30:06is really low resolution to start with, something like I think it's four eighty
- 30:10by two seventy two. I think it's just a little standard resolution in the
- 30:12PSP because it was a little handheld, it was not meant to be crazy.
- 30:17But yeah, you can pump that thing up to ten ADP and all
- 30:18of a sudden, everything sharp as hell, and you're like, oh my
- 30:22god. Um, so I've been playing around with that, but I didn't.
- 30:26I didn't suck there either. Um, Like, you can't do a
- 30:29lot of upscaling for older systems than that, and there, and it's it's
- 30:33insanely difficult to do upscaling on newer systems than that. It's like that that
- 30:37is the sweet spot, like GameCube, PS two, PSP, all that
- 30:41stuff, any anything newer would require an absolutely beastly processor and GPU combo to
- 30:51upscale beyond what the system was meant to. Like, I wouldn't even try
- 30:56PS three upscaling yet, um, even though most games were on at seven
- 31:00twenty p just twine. You know, it's like that's a bit scary,
- 31:04Like I may be pushing maybe pushing this little box a little too hard,
- 31:10um, but instead I've also been looking at it naturally. Instead, I've
- 31:18been looking at like PC remakes and remasters. So I've been spending a lot
- 31:25of time with the Super Mario sixty four PC port, which plays in full
- 31:30ten ADP and wide screen. What um with the Xbox controller. Yeah,
- 31:37with an Xbox through sixty controller. Um. And I've heard that the Legend
- 31:42of Zelda Acarina of Time has also been ported to PC in the same way,
- 31:47but I don't haven't and I haven't played with it yet. But just
- 31:51being able to play Super Mario sixty four again on a controller that makes sense?
- 31:55Yes? Um, I don't under control was made for man. I
- 32:00mean yeah, we needed vmba dextrous No, I mean you need to have
- 32:06three hands to work every single but no sense um um? But yeah,
- 32:13no it in ten ADP and wide screen. I mean you can only shine
- 32:16a turd so much like but you you cannot. You cannot change the fact
- 32:22that the N sixty four games had limited polygons. So everything does still look
- 32:27you know, like low low, low poly But as far as the resolution
- 32:31is concerned, like, everything does look sharp and crisp, and it's it's
- 32:36it's it's prettier to look at than it would be on a real N sixty
- 32:38four and it's in wide screen, so it fits my PC perfectly, you
- 32:43know. Um, So I've been having fun with that. But probably the
- 32:46absolute gem and one of my favorite things in my collection. Like I came
- 32:51across somebody some years ago, well before Nintendo finally got around to doing it,
- 32:57um decided to on their own take Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii and
- 33:05using Prime Hack, which is a it's a version of the Dolphin emulator that
- 33:10allows you to play Metroid Prime as a first person shooter with one stick being
- 33:19moved and one stick being looked. And he took all that, and then
- 33:27on top of that, decided to upgrade as many textures in the game as
- 33:30he could to higher resolutions. So it's basically a homemade version of Metroid Prime
- 33:37Trilogy Remastered, which recently came out for the Switch. Obviously it's obviously not
- 33:44the same thing, but this is like a homemade version of that, and
- 33:46it is absolutely stunning, and I've been having an absolute blast with it.
- 33:53Like I've been having so much fun playing through the first Metroid Prime, which
- 33:58I'd never finished, and I never even played two or three, so I
- 34:01might actually wind up playing through all three games at some point, just because
- 34:06it's so much easier now, Like you can't go back to those old games
- 34:09where they didn't have you know, one stick is look and one stick is
- 34:14move when that's what you're used to now, like first person games like even
- 34:20Gold and I and a Nintendo sixty four feels weird because I can't move and
- 34:25look at the same time, you know, independent, you know what I
- 34:30mean, and H and Metroid Prime was also a problem, like when I
- 34:35would try to go back and play again because I got pretty far. I
- 34:38think I got halfway through the game at one point, but never finished it.
- 34:43And now every time when I go back and try and play it,
- 34:45it feels weird. So with Prime Hack, it actually plays more like a
- 34:49shooter, like you can actually look and move and you can aim properly at
- 34:53enemies without needing to use the lock on feature because you can actually control your
- 34:59aiming right now that you're able to use the right stick to look around.
- 35:04I don't understand the complications they why I even I mean, back then didn't
- 35:08even make sense, Like none of it made sense ever. Well in their
- 35:13defense back then, like the first person shooter model wasn't standard, like nobody
- 35:20had a few developers had put it into their game, but it wasn't it
- 35:24wasn't the common thing, and you know, uh, and it took it
- 35:29took some people, you know, time to come around. There are people
- 35:31who still haven't come around to using one stick to move and one stick to
- 35:35look, like our good friend of the show who we still have to get
- 35:38on at some point somehow. Reluctant Butter is one of those people who's just
- 35:45never gotten used to the modern First he has, oh he has. Oh
- 35:50yeah, we've played Call of Duty really. Oh yeah, we would do
- 35:52bots all the time downstairs. Oh oh yeah. Yeah. The last time
- 35:57I talked to originally talked about it, he still hadn't come around. He
- 36:02was still like, I have to have it where you know, one you
- 36:06know, moves and turns and the other stick strapes and looks up and down.
- 36:12And I'm like, that is insane. You are you are literally crossing
- 36:19the streams. Why why would you do this? Um? But now he
- 36:25just was so used to it from games like Golden Eye and you know,
- 36:29the earlier stuff that sucked it all. He just he just never bothered to
- 36:32learn the new way. Which honestly just makes so much more sense to me.
- 36:37It's like separating your left brain and your right brain into two separate things.
- 36:42Okay, I can move in this direction while aiming in another direction entirely
- 36:46independently of one another, and it doesn't break my brain. You know,
- 36:55Yeah, I don't. I mean I got it right away with those I
- 36:58love that shit when it came out, like I was like, I wasn't.
- 37:00I didn't even have a PlayStation. I think I had a PlayStation two
- 37:04at one point. But like when when the newer systems came out twer back
- 37:07then after Nintendo the newer systems came out, when PlayStation had the analog sticks,
- 37:13I'm like, this is fucking genius. No, I'm like, this
- 37:15is fucking smart, because the Xbox One was fucking stupid the way they had
- 37:19it, the original Xbox I'm like, why, why why are these This
- 37:22is not set up right at all? What with one stick in the upper
- 37:27left and another stick in the lower right. Well, I knew it was
- 37:30like further than that. It is now, you know, like now it's
- 37:32kind of even and shit, even if it is off a little, but
- 37:36it's like that first one and then they had the two white and black buttons
- 37:37that were underneath the ant like it was a weird spot orneath the analog stick,
- 37:42like what are you guys doing? No, okay, so PlayStation,
- 37:45when's this is? Because it's a controller. But then after when the new
- 37:49xboxes came out, the Xbox three sixty I think was the one that yeah,
- 37:52three sixty was the first one with the new design. That shit was
- 37:55like, all right, this fits my hands perfect. I don't have like
- 37:59big hands or anything, but like I can cradle that thing like my balls.
- 38:05Well I on that note, I think we'll just turn this train right
- 38:12around now that we board Augie to tears. Yea, all that tech stuff,
- 38:19great, bake up. We're doing a podcast. I thought we were
- 38:22talking tech. Well, we can talk tech. I guess it depends on
- 38:27what you want to talk about. But we'll get to what's new in Augie's
- 38:30life when we come back right after this. I'm Richie aka Midnight Agent Raw.
- 38:45I'm Devin aka Special Delivery Dev. We're the Supermediate Bros. Podcast,

- 39:04listen to podcasts. Shades on We're off he Man, welcome back. It's
- 39:22time for part three of our chill show. We've caught up with me,
- 39:27We've caught up with Stevie. It just leaves one person. Now, who
- 39:30could it be? There's somebody else I don't know, who could have Jesus
- 39:37Christ. Hey, look, something fell over in the studio earlier. I'm
- 39:43pretty sure it's haunted now because we were it was the opposite side of the
- 39:46studio. We were. The lamp is on the floor. Yeah, no,
- 39:50a lamp fellow. It's on the floor, and I don't know what
- 39:52the nothing vibrated. I don't know. I'm pretty sure the studio has haunted
- 39:57now. Awesome, good jog, All right, very good, it's very
- 40:00good. Well I'm terrified, so I'm just gonna go. But in the
- 40:04meanwhile, Aggie, what's going on? Man? Uh? Not much,
- 40:08honestly. Uh. It's just been such a brutal winter, just kind of
- 40:13biding your time for spring. I've been spending it playing mostly World of Warcraft,
- 40:17which I really need to. It's like a bad addict that just keeps
- 40:22relapsing. I really need to do you need an intervention, Aggie. Do
- 40:27not yet give me to put a block on your account. No, that's
- 40:30unecessary. But give me a couple more months. Wait a minute, and
- 40:32we'll see we're at if it really is bad? Can I Am I allowed
- 40:37to make your account and a child account under my adult I don't think so,
- 40:40because I like no, Aggie, there's no while for you today.
- 40:44What you need to chill the fuck out? You played for twelve hours yesterday.
- 40:49Motherfucker, you're done, I don't think so. You go to logging
- 40:53screen, it says you're locked, it says a countdown or something to be
- 40:57fucking. I think the accounts made to be a child safe account. This
- 41:01was just a standard made account. Just I don't think it works that way
- 41:05unless you can convert it. I don't think I'm gonna find out. But
- 41:07anyways, I need your Passford. Yeah, sure, I'll say it right
- 41:12here. It's oh yeah, um uh so. Yeah, that's basically all
- 41:17I've been doing. I've just been buying my time. I've got a lot
- 41:21lined up for spring. I've got so much stuff line up for spring.
- 41:24I've got sunflowers, a plant, vegetables, a plant. I've got a
- 41:29bunch of science projects I'm gonna be doing with my niece. Yeah, I
- 41:32want to pick up singing singing? Yeah? Do you want to do karaoke?
- 41:38And this my sister could do it. I want to try it.
- 41:40Yes, Okay, So now you guys heard it here. At first,
- 41:44our new fucking superstar is gonna like rise from like the b F y tw
- 41:49studio and like set the world a blaze. First, the fucking snow needs
- 41:52to go right, which it's far too depressing to try anything right now.
- 41:58So Aaron's should come over too, because Aaron sings, we should all just
- 42:01come in here and do karaoke. True, I mean we could do that,
- 42:06sure, yeah, yeah, no, I fully appreciate and endorse your
- 42:09desire to learn to sing. Man, it's never too late. Um,
- 42:14there's it's extremely rare that anyone would be tone deaf. But it's funny because
- 42:20the one person who we would never try to get to sing it was Jorge.
- 42:27Jorge is as close to a tone deaf person as I've ever met in
- 42:30my entire life. He could not could not sing a note if he tried
- 42:37to sing along with the song, it would sound awful and God bless him,
- 42:43Like he would keep trying, and then like one time I remember,
- 42:45I remember actually confronting him about it. I'm like, dude, are you
- 42:49tone deaf? And he's like no, I'm just singing the harmony And I
- 42:52was like, sh just the harmony to what completely different song? Like oh
- 43:05man, but but listen, like you know, it's never too late.
- 43:08Like a lot of people who think they're tone deaf aren't actually tone deaf,
- 43:13and they just lost confidence as a child. Yeah, like maybe somebody told
- 43:17them you're doing it wrong or whatever, and they just, you know,
- 43:21weren't like this is not my thing. I'm pretty sure that's just what happened
- 43:23to me. I was inquired when I was in school, um, as
- 43:28a young kid. Yeah, to even get inquired, you have to be
- 43:30able to sing at least a little bit. Yeah, so I was capable
- 43:34of I think what that is. It's just it was either too boring or
- 43:37it was just not enough support behind it. Like I did get bullied bullied
- 43:42a lot in school, so maybe that what didn't help a lot. So
- 43:45I just kind of left it behind me and never really. Every time someone's
- 43:49like, hey, sing this with me, I'm like, no, it's
- 43:50okay. Now, I kind of want to see if I can try.
- 43:53Yeah, dude, hell yeah, I'm just to see I'll sing with young
- 43:59not good, I just do it, okay, fuck, I mean I'll
- 44:06sing with you. I'm nothing special, but I can sing so like you
- 44:09know, yeah, I've heard you only do some duets and whatnot on a
- 44:15karaoke machine that we oh, we just gave it away. We don't need
- 44:17a karaoke time. It's okay. I've got the equipment, hipment and YouTube
- 44:24and you literally don't need it. Like you could. You could just took
- 44:28up microphone up to a PC and and just run a YouTube song. That's
- 44:32the plan. Or we could just stand in front of the television just sing.
- 44:37Yeah, you do that too, It's so fun. It's fun with
- 44:40the microphones though, that is true. Yeah, I can record it and
- 44:45send it the Patreon. Yeah yeah, looking forward to our new Patriot exclusive
- 44:52it. We'll do it. You know, it'll be really kind of it
- 44:55is that if I can actually do it, but I can also improve.
- 45:00So yeah, if you follow us on Patreon, you'll actually see me try
- 45:02and possibly even improved. Let me write this down. We're doing karaoke and
- 45:08I can start singing. I'm fucking in. Let's do it, man.
- 45:14I'll start setting it up so we can. I gotta get the monitor speakers,
- 45:16but I'll get it set so we can do that shit. Yeah,
- 45:19for the time being. You got where your headsets too, because your tone
- 45:22death. That's why that's an entirely different acronym b f y t d W
- 45:32wait because no, wait, there's no F because b y t d W.
- 45:40What b y t d t W. You don't need the other D
- 45:45tone deaf is hyphenated. Oh so it's one word. Yeah, Oh so
- 45:52b y t t W. Yeah, hin TD. I knew it,
- 46:00knew it. I knew that was heading somewhere. Why don't you have a
- 46:07damn it, you and your fucking bits. I genuinely don't see this ending
- 46:17on. No, sorry, guys, sorry, this is what you're getting
- 46:22this week. This is our doing, and we're sorry. Um, that's
- 46:35gonna be it for us. I think that that's also a good plan.
