- 0:01The NFL is back and everyone's bad at football.
- 0:04LSU somehow skirted any type of punishment.
- 0:07And of course, we're having technical difficulties. Also,
- 0:11Shohei Ohtani's broken. Fuck. Tanya, how you
- 0:14doing? Great to see you. Happy Friday. This is the worst thing
- 0:18that's ever happened on 9/11. Cheers. Jesus.
- 0:31Like, no, we're trying really hard not to crash out right now.
- 0:34I need you guys to understand that, like, it's taking every single,
- 0:38every single thread of patience in our bodies not to crash
- 0:42out because this was, this was worst case scenario, like I said. Yeah,
- 0:46we, we spent 40 minutes. Maybe this is the second worst thing that's
- 0:50ever happened on 9/11. Maybe. I think that's fair. I think that's very fair.
- 0:52Um, genuinely though, uh, in regards to the fact that it is 9/11, I suppose
- 0:55we should acknowledge that.
- 0:59Um, not great. Wasn't a great time. No, it was not. I was
- 1:02a freshman in high school. Been 25 years. We were exactly the same age,
- 1:06right? Just starting high school. And, um, it's, uh, it's been
- 1:0925 years of like watching the country fall
- 1:13apart since. Yeah, we couldn't have known it when we were, you know,
- 1:1614-year-old kids. No, no, we had no idea that, that our, that our true,
- 1:20our childhood really was over. Yeah, so Uh,
- 1:24you know, we're drinking, we're drinking to that. I watched the new Netflix documentary
- 1:28on it. I, I took a long time off from
- 1:319/11 documentaries. Yeah, because it was like, what? I can't— first
- 1:35of all, I can't do propaganda. No, I get it. Oh boy. You know,
- 1:38and then for a while it just like, it seemed sort of repetitive. Not that
- 1:42I didn't want to hear people's stories, but like, you know, um, but this
- 1:45one, this new one on Netflix, I think does it really, really well. I learned
- 1:50some stuff about what has happened with our military and what happened
- 1:54after we pulled out of Afghanistan, what the new generation of American
- 1:57soldiers are dealing with in the— in sort of like the,
- 2:01the kids who don't remember 9/11 or weren't even alive for it that are still,
- 2:05you know. So they do— they go all the way through it, and I think
- 2:08they did a really, really beautiful job of tying together the trauma of the event
- 2:11and not underplaying it in what we went through as Americans, but also
- 2:15understanding the imperialism that we
- 2:19sort of invited the rest of the world
- 2:22to like suffer from on our behalf, and then what happened in the aftermath,
- 2:26right? So they did a really good job. So I think that it's like,
- 2:28it's a— if you're a documentary person, then check it out. Pretty well done.
- 2:32I will definitely check it out on that. That— yeah, I remember it's so funny,
- 2:36we were talking about it before the show started. I remember certain things like vividly,
- 2:39like really, really vividly. Yeah. And, and I'm not positive
- 2:43that that I saw what I saw type of thing, you know? Like, I remember
- 2:47memories layer a lot of experiences over each other over time, and collective memories,
- 2:51right? Completely. It's like, it's almost like, it's almost like a confirmation bias from other
- 2:55people. It's like, yeah, I saw that. Yeah, I saw it too. Yeah. And that
- 2:58footage might not actually exist, and it's just something that we've all played. It exists.
- 3:01I think that's why we think we remember it, because it's so like in our
- 3:04memories now. Like, you can see this happening live on television.
- 3:08Yeah, there were some people who spotted it live. Do we— did we? I don't—
- 3:12I don't even know anymore. Yeah, I feel like I did. I feel like I
- 3:15did too. I remember vividly seeing the second plane hit, but it might
- 3:19not have been that. It might have just been a replay of something else.
- 3:21And, you know, keep in mind, 3 hours behind over here in Los Angeles.
- 3:24I was in Santa Monica and I was— it was like 6:04. Yeah, we would
- 3:27have— I was debating not going to school. And keep in mind, I was in
- 3:30school for all of one week in high school at that point. We had been
- 3:34through— I think we were on our second week of high school. Yeah, legitimately second
- 3:37week of high school. And, you You know, my high school in Santa Monica is
- 3:40huge. There's like 4,000 students that go there. So I was already
- 3:44feeling overwhelmed. And now this is happening. And it was funny because— well, not funny.
- 3:47I apologize. It was weird because I went to school that day. Now, my high
- 3:51school was the size of most small colleges. And it was empty. I was
- 3:55like one of what felt like 400 kids at the school, which 400
- 3:59kids at a school is probably a lot to most people. But in this particular
- 4:03school— Why did you— how come you went to school and everybody else didn't?
- 4:05Was it because your parents were working? And so you just got yourself to school
- 4:08and realized— I asked them, should I go to school? And they're like,
- 4:11yeah. And so they're like, I don't give a fuck. Like, who knows?
- 4:15School's not canceled. So I went and it became a— it was a very
- 4:19weird day. Yeah. Yeah. I truly did not know at the time that the world
- 4:23had drastically changed forever. Yeah. Well, there was a lot more stuff that unfolded because
- 4:27there was other crashes. There was. It was— it was a pretty crazy— and there
- 4:31was like a lot of— there was a lot of fear here at the time
- 4:33because people were like, well, are they going to come? All the big cities,
- 4:35Los Angeles, Chicago, like all that whole thing. It was supposed to be going— it
- 4:38was a Boston flight that was supposed to be going to LA too, I believe,
- 4:41that Flight 11, that original one. I don't know what the second one was.
- 4:44I'm not sure. Either way, they both came from Logan and they were supposed to
- 4:47be going to LA. So yeah, um, but a lot of— I grew up
- 4:51in Massachusetts. I know a ton of New York people and Massachusetts people who were
- 4:54really directly affected by it. So I always just try to,
- 4:58you know, send that out there. Um, friends and
- 5:02acquaintances who've gone over to the Middle East and died in the wars
- 5:05that were started after this. And my, my husband has a massive tattoo
- 5:09on his leg for his high school best friend who was
- 5:12killed by an IED over there as a,
- 5:15as a medic. And so, like, lots, lots of people's
- 5:20lives have been affected beyond just that day. And a whole generation of kids has
- 5:23grown up in the aftermath of it. So, well, we want to, we want to,
- 5:27of course, acknowledge anybody who was affected by that day and also, you know,
- 5:30acknowledge the great work that has been done this week, specifically that speech by Jon
- 5:33Stewart yesterday and the files that have been released and just You know, just everyone
- 5:37that was affected, especially first responders who have been dealing with the aftermath of
- 5:41it with their health issues and everything. I hope you get all of the everything
- 5:44you possibly could need to either get healthy or get the—
- 5:47or whatever. Just literally whatever. Just what a tragic, insane time
- 5:52it was. And, and we're also— we should also say for the record, because we
- 5:56are, we are that kind of podcast, we're not,
- 5:59we're not down with Islamophobia. Oh, God, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 6:02Because here's the thing about that. That's, that's starting to pop back up. I'm glad
- 6:05you said that. Oh, start to pop up. It is out. It is flat out
- 6:08out there. We like, we're watching it with the Mondani shit, like from everybody,
- 6:12whatever the fuck. That weird, most Islamophobic 9/11
- 6:15that I, that I have. Other question. Remember since like the
- 6:19first couple? Yeah. Like it's really, you know what really upsets me the most is
- 6:22the phrase never forget. You know why? Because people have changed. Never forget what that
- 6:26actually means. Never forget what's supposed to be. Never forget the first responders,
- 6:29those who died and gave their lives to try to save so many people and
- 6:33tragically were lost. And of course, the people that were already tragically lost. Yeah.
- 6:36It's not never forget those who did this to us. And that's what you—
- 6:40a lot of you people have done. And really, I don't— there was,
- 6:44you know, I don't— I don't— that's not— that's not Muslims.
- 6:48That's not Islam. That's not— those are just terrorists. And that
- 6:52is what it is. It was just, uh, yeah, horrible. And let's— let's hope for
- 6:55a better future that is only going to last for 10 more years before AI
- 6:59kills us. Yep. Based on what we've learned this week. Oh yeah, Mocha, we only
- 7:01have 10 more years. 10 more years, buddy. Yeah, so don't worry about it.
- 7:04We're toiling away for 10 more. You're not even gonna make it to
- 7:08the age that Cody and I are right now. Then the fucking Cylons are coming
- 7:11for you, bro. So sorry. I'll be cybernetically enhanced.
- 7:15Oh, that's a nice way of going about it. If you could be cybernetically
- 7:20enhanced, like you didn't have a body anymore, but you were still your brain.
- 7:23Yeah, but like you had a robot body or something. Sure. You, you down
- 7:27for that? No. No, it's not all bad.
- 7:31No. What if you have all the same sensations? What if you can, like,
- 7:34still— like, you're a robot that can still fuck? Imagine cybernetic sports.
- 7:38No way. There's— I can't imagine. There's got to be a way. If I can't—
- 7:42if I don't have a functioning penis, I don't think I want to do this.
- 7:45Yeah, I don't want to be— What if you have a super penis?
- 7:49What if you have— what if I— what if— what if— what if Mocha and
- 7:52I have super penises? Well, you know what?
- 7:55That goes for every body part. For me personally. What if you have a super
- 7:59vagina? What if I have a super penis? Maybe you can. What? It's robot
- 8:03world. And we can all switch. We could switch. Oh, maybe. And maybe
- 8:07we could all actually get past some shit. By the way, congratulations, Dallas, for your
- 8:11Grindr network to fall— fail yet again. Oh, did it?
- 8:14Yeah. For the— I don't know if you heard, there's a Republican convention going there
- 8:18right now and it's— oh yeah, it's totally going to— it's going to— Grindr goes
- 8:21nuts. Yeah, it did. Grindr goes nuts. And you know what? I wish
- 8:25they would all just come out and embrace who they are. Would they? Would really—
- 8:28world would be so much easier. This whole— all of this mess wouldn't be happening.
- 8:33All right, speaking of messes, let's get into headline number 1, Cody.
- 8:36Let's get right into it. Rams, what the fuck was that? We had
- 8:402 football games already, which is why I'm still— again, I'm gonna say it one
- 8:43more time— so pissed we don't have a fucking live show right now. But anyways,
- 8:48uh, the— we'll start with Thursday Night Football, the most recent game,
- 8:5249ers versus Rams in Australia. The first game ever in
- 8:55Australia, the first NFL game ever in Australia. The Australians were loving it. They were
- 9:00loving the vibe. There was a good time. The Niners
- 9:03had been there. So not only did the Niners get in, get themselves adjusted
- 9:07to the time zone, but they also became the darlings of the area.
- 9:11Right. Because they're in Melbourne. So like they became the BFFs with the
- 9:14Aussies. We just experienced this all over the country with the World Cup. I was
- 9:18getting some flashbacks. Yeah, like awesome flashbacks. Yeah. So like the
- 9:22San Francisco, the team and the fans and stuff that were there,
- 9:26You know, they just made, I think, a whole new group of fans in Australia.
- 9:29They did, really did. Um, meanwhile, the Rams participated
- 9:35in an overthinking ritual that I both can relate to and
- 9:39judge tremendously. Oh man, I can't wait to talk about this
- 9:42because I have, I have a lot of thoughts on this, and I even,
- 9:45I even have an excuse for the future of this. Great. Okay, so I'll
- 9:49give the quick recap of what happened. The Rams looked
- 9:53awful. Awful. This is a team that is, is stacked across the board with,
- 9:57as you know, as much talent. I mean, they have some holes, but they have
- 10:00everything you need to be a contender. They, they were, of course, the team we
- 10:04were talking about who had a reign that we didn't even know existed last year.
- 10:07And this reign has been epic. This reign has— it ended before
- 10:11it began. And Josh Allen's going to possibly end it. Maybe it ended before
- 10:15it began, but so do the Niners. The Niners, when they are healthy, are just
- 10:20as talented as, as most teams in the NFL. And what
- 10:23we saw was just an absolute, like, demolition of the Rams.
- 10:27It was, uh, their biggest loss in, I think,
- 10:313 years. I think there was something like that. Yeah, it was awful. It was
- 10:35the lowest scoring game of Matthew Stafford's Rams tenure. Yeah, it was shit.
- 10:39He was shit. So the Niners won 35-7. And the— and the— at the
- 10:43heart of this, after the whole— after the game and during the game, was everybody
- 10:46talking about the same thing, which is that The Rams had this very bizarre plan
- 10:50to— for travel. Yeah. Now, to be fair, going— having to go to Australia
- 10:54to play a fucking NFL game is brutal. I'm happy for the Australians, but like,
- 10:57that fucking sucks. Let's not act like that's like normal. And really
- 11:01quick, this is also an in-division rivalry game, and it was a home game for
- 11:04the Rams, right? So the Rams lose a home game, so they're like, okay.
- 11:07So Sean McVay and his, his team of,
- 11:10of McVay people, like, for all of— for all of McVay's
- 11:14incredible qualities, he is a little bit ridiculous, as,
- 11:17as many are. Um, he overthinks it. He decides that—
- 11:21so they've spent about 15 months to 2 years with
- 11:25staffers traveling, studying sleep schedules,
- 11:29doing all this stuff. And so they do all of that. They've got like all
- 11:33these beds set up on the plane so they can all sleep at a specific
- 11:36time, and they're going to get them adjusted in, but they're going to stay in
- 11:39Los Angeles until 28 hours before the game. Yep.
- 11:42I think most everybody on planet Earth was like,
- 11:45that's a bad choice. It just— there was no world where any of us
- 11:49were buying it. And this is not Monday morning quarterback. Agreed. Like, we all kind
- 11:53of were like, there was a part of me that liked it and was more
- 11:55intrigued than anything else. But, but I want to explain
- 11:59why I like it. And I'm not— we're not there yet. I want to continue.
- 12:02All right. So, so they— the Rams
- 12:06have— the Niners have been there for a week. They're fully adjusted.
- 12:09They're feeling good. They are also, by the way, the delinquents
- 12:14of the offseason, right? Jed York, a disaster. Kyle Shanahan, a disaster.
- 12:18This team, which is rarely all healthy at the same time, destroyed by
- 12:22the— by their power plant practice facility.
- 12:25Like, I firmly believe the Rams were going to win 35-7.
- 12:29I really thought that. They've got a fake wide receiver that got arrested
- 12:34by feds. Wasn't their fault, but it is funny that he was a Niner.
- 12:36So funny. And they're finally healthy for the first time like that, that we just
- 12:39don't get to see all these— like Trent Williams healthy. Fred Warner's healthy.
- 12:43Like, all these dudes are healthy, right? Yes. And that's great.
- 12:46Even Christian McCaffrey, all these dudes. Yes. But we've had
- 12:51the Rams propaganda in our ear and it was— it was— and I'm part of
- 12:54it. I'm part of it. Okay. And I've been— I've been— I've been— I've been
- 12:57fucking carrying a Rams flag every single day because I've been excited for this.
- 13:00This has been like— I've been legitimately excited for the Rams.
- 13:03And when I tell you, they just looked like— they looked like
- 13:06a shell of themselves. As bad as the Patriots were in the 4th quarter
- 13:10on Wednesday night, which we will talk about, The Rams never even got it going
- 13:13enough for us to feel like they might have a chance. Like, it was pretty
- 13:16rough. Did it first at like very— at
- 13:20very first. You mean like the first play? Like the first quarter,
- 13:23it looked like maybe they were gonna start doing it. And once when
- 13:27they got that interception, I was like, here they go. And then it was just
- 13:31nothing. Well, so what it was was that the— I never thought the Rams
- 13:35looked good. I just didn't. We— it was before the 49ers got fully heated up.
- 13:39That's more what you're talking about. That is fair. You're right. The second for the
- 13:4249ers to heat up, and then as soon as that happened, it like, oh,
- 13:44the Rams aren't— it wasn't even a game. And so like Sean
- 13:48McVay said, he's, he's doubling down on the fact that the Rams travel plans were
- 13:51not the issue. He says, I know there's going to be a lot of narratives
- 13:53that appropriately put the blame on me and that then we'll move forward
- 13:58the right way. I don't believe the travel plan is why we didn't play well
- 14:01enough. I really don't. That's something that I'll always make decisions that I think are
- 14:05best for the football team. It's easy in hindsight to say it was a miss,
- 14:07but those are responsibilities that I'll take. Okay, well, it sounds like
- 14:11you're still not taking the responsibility, but that's fine. Um, my takeaway
- 14:16on this is not super harsh on Sean McVay. It's just
- 14:20something that I think all coaches— it's a, it's an odd situation
- 14:24to be going to Australia. I think that the 49ers had way
- 14:28bigger fish to fry and were like, we're gonna fucking fly out there and play
- 14:31the goddamn game. They don't have time for this shit. McVay had time to overthink,
- 14:35and he had, had, had been overthinking it. And I told the story. Did you
- 14:39see my video that I posted last night? I liked it. I was one of
- 14:42the many hearts you got. Thank you so much. You're welcome. That's my favorite one.
- 14:45I know yours was my favorite one. You didn't even fucking know I watched it.
- 14:48I'm never hearting your shit again. I can't tell with all the likes
- 14:52I get all the time. It's sometimes I can't see, you know what I mean?
- 14:56When Samuel L. Jackson's following you, it's so hard
- 14:59to tell. You are. But I— for
- 15:03anybody who didn't see, this is an issue that the 2007 Patriots experienced
- 15:08heading into the Giants Super Bowl. They had just played the Giants 4
- 15:12weeks prior. They were like all over the place. Bill Belichick made
- 15:15some choices with their sleeping situation in their hotels and
- 15:19keeping them away from their families to keep them really focused and really intense.
- 15:22And he thought that that was the plan and that was the way to go.
- 15:26And in the aftermath, he was just like, this was,
- 15:29this was just not— I fucked up. And the players were tense. They were
- 15:33edgy already, right? Like, this is a very tense,
- 15:36edgy situation. So this is not me being like McVay trash.
- 15:40I'm, you know, great coaches make these mistakes.
- 15:42Sometimes I think you're better off having a scandalous
- 15:47offseason where you just can't think about anything other than just getting to football and
- 15:51then playing like, you know, lights out. Sure, sure, sure. Tell that to Mike Vrabel.
- 15:55We'll get to it. Don't worry. Here's the deal. All right. So I have a
- 15:58lot of information and personal
- 16:02experience for this. So, um, I, I actually liked what the Rams
- 16:06did, but not for the reason you think. Like, I was intrigued by this entire
- 16:09concept. It really was. I was intrigued by the amount of— I just couldn't— I
- 16:13could not find myself doing it. No, no, no, I agree. Like, such a tryhard.
- 16:16On, on paper, you would think getting there and getting yourself acclimated is
- 16:20the way to go. Yeah, like, we know what works with jet lag. 100%.
- 16:24We know that on paper. Yeah, I, I appreciated— and I just want to only
- 16:28say I appreciated this outside-the-box thinking. Okay. However,
- 16:3317 fucking hours on a plane is 17 hours on a plane. Yeah. I don't
- 16:37care what kind of plane you're on. Yeah. Uh, reason why I have personal experience
- 16:40in this is because I played in the World Baseball Classic. I went from playing
- 16:44spring training in Arizona to having to go immediately play over
- 16:48in Korea. 17-hour flight, exact same shit,
- 16:51nightmarish type of thing. Having to get on a brand new other side
- 16:55of the world sleep schedule on a very short amount of time. We did arrive
- 16:584 days before the tournament, kind of got ourselves acclimated and played.
- 17:02Here's what I do like, but here's also a thing I want to
- 17:05mention that might not work either. But this is
- 17:09why I— this is where I think the thinking really was coming up, and they
- 17:13are taking the blame for all this shit for game 1. I do think the
- 17:16plane flight had something to do with it. I don't think it's the end-all be-all
- 17:20excuse. I think it's a percentage. They all looked like they just got off a
- 17:2317-hour flight. They all looked like shit. Myles Garrett had no
- 17:27stat. Myles Garrett had no stat. Not a stat. When I posted— so
- 17:32I put that in our rundown and I was like, this— I had to double-check
- 17:35it. I was posting my NFL stats and I was like, I really need to
- 17:39like triple-check that he didn't have a tackle or a like—
- 17:43no pressure. It was zeros. It was so alarming
- 17:47that I was like, there's no way. Especially because next to it Fred Warner
- 17:51looked like he had the game of his fucking life, and I'm like, oh boy,
- 17:54right? I'm telling you, nothing. Yeah, nothing in it. Now, he also
- 17:58mentioned that his knee still isn't completely right, but guess what? As much as
- 18:02I want to say that— playing in the game, you're playing in the game.
- 18:04And also, if your knee's not right, I don't think you should have just flown
- 18:0717 fucking hours, because guess what? You gotta fly 17
- 18:10hours back. So these guys always have something that's not right, and they decide when
- 18:14they want to talk about it, when they don't. That's okay. Completely agree. Okay.
- 18:16But I'm just saying. Yeah. Now here's what I do
- 18:20like about it that might prove to be absolutely fucking
- 18:23nothing. Their next game is not until Monday night, the 21st.
- 18:27They got a decent amount of time off in between games since they already flew
- 18:31back. And I believe they probably already landed here in the States at
- 18:34this point. They technically never had to get on a different sleep schedule.
- 18:38Technically, I really am saying technically. I mean, so they come
- 18:42back and they're, they're kind of going to stay on the same circadian sleep schedule.
- 18:46Yeah, or closer to it than— yeah, the Niners do have to
- 18:49fly back and then reacclimate a second time.
- 18:53Now I think that was the thought process that they might have had
- 18:56going like, well, we'll come back and we're just going to stay on the same
- 18:59sleep cycle and we'll actually come back, we'll be better for the future games,
- 19:03and while the Niners are going to kind of struggle to kind of reacclimate.
- 19:07I think that's the overthinking portion. I like the idea
- 19:11of it. I don't think any of this fucking works.
- 19:14But I will tell you, coming back from Korea the way I did.
- 19:17Yeah, it took me a minute to reacclimate to everything
- 19:21to get back to the United States. But here's the problem. They got time off.
- 19:23Here's the problem, though. This was for them outside
- 19:28of each one of their games against, you know, their games against Seahawks. This is
- 19:32one of the most important games you're going to play. Completely agree. So that's why
- 19:34they prioritize the front end or the back end. You prioritize
- 19:38beating the Rams, you prioritize beating the 49ers. Whatever happens
- 19:42in week 2, get your shit together. Like I said, right? So that to me
- 19:45is like— for— I'm not saying that what you're thinking is, is crazy,
- 19:49but what I'm saying is be tired in the United States with a win rather
- 19:53than fucking tired in, in Australia and losing. Oh wow,
- 19:56you're rested to go in and you're 0-1. I personally
- 20:00think this was so much fucking— and you know what the other
- 20:04thing I think that caused this? The overthinking of this whole fucking thing, because I
- 20:08think they were feeling themselves from last year. Because when they went over to London
- 20:10and beat the living shit out of the Jacksonville Jaguars, they did something in front
- 20:14of all those goddamn Jaguars fans in London. London loves the Jaguars. I know they
- 20:18do. I know they do, for obvious reasons. But yeah, but I gotta make this—
- 20:20they beat the fuck out of them over there in London. Yeah, but the reason
- 20:23they did it, and I think they were thinking, man, we really got this shit
- 20:26figured out, is because that week they spent the entire week training in New York.
- 20:29They did not go to London. They played in New— they stayed in the East
- 20:32Coast. Trained in the East Coast, flew to London, beat them up, and then came
- 20:35right back. So they didn't kind of get off everything. And they think they looked
- 20:39at that going like, we understand sleep, let's figure out Australia
- 20:43now. And I think they really thought they had something here. Gang, I hate to
- 20:47break it to you, but as, as good as the Jaguars were last year,
- 20:49they're not the fucking 49ers. They're not. And they're not your division
- 20:52rivals. They're not. That's— this is Shanahan versus McVay is
- 20:56a gauntlet every time. And he already has your number, McVay. Like, well, he has
- 20:59for the last 2 seasons. Yep.
- 21:03Whereas before that, McVay was kind of rolling against Shanahan,
- 21:06but like, not these last couple of years. Yeah. And that's, that's the issue.
- 21:09Now I'm just saying, I think that's where they kind of got a little big
- 21:13for their britches. And also the fucking great vibes offseason they just had. I never
- 21:17can tell if they're like big on— like, that's the, that's the biggest thing.
- 21:20And, you know, we're going to get into the game against the Patriots
- 21:24the night before, or the Patriots versus the Seahawks, the Super Bowl rematch.
- 21:27But I think sometimes we see these performances
- 21:31and we're like, well, were you overconfident? And I just— I
- 21:35don't know that it's overconfidence as much as it is you
- 21:40cannot replicate the urgency and the, like,
- 21:43stress of needing to come in hot. And I think
- 21:46that the Niners having a healthy team for the
- 21:50first time in a minute with all those electric players
- 21:55they had a sense of urgency that, that you can't manufacture, and that's
- 21:59a very difficult thing. Listen, dude, I completely agree. I thought this was a huge
- 22:02fucking— I didn't think it was a huge mistake at the time. I was just
- 22:05kind of more like intrigued. I wanted to wait. The game went on, I was
- 22:09like, oh man, I just ate like fucking raw meat. I went in there,
- 22:11I'm like, I'm really excited to see how this goes. What if
- 22:15the Rams fuck them up? Yeah, nope.
- 22:18Way to, way to fuck up and reinvent the wheel. Fucking stupid.
- 22:22Didn't work. And I immediately— today I even opened up
- 22:25the show talking about it. Like, throw away your fucking Whoop band.
- 22:29Yeah, throw away your— all your sleep data is all fucking
- 22:33worthless. Yeah. Fred Warner's just been there fucking having,
- 22:36having a time for a week and he just kicked you out. He's just been
- 22:39drinking Foster's all week waiting for you to come in.
- 22:42By the way, you know that my least favorite NFL fan base is the 49ers.
- 22:46I'm safe to say this because there's no live— there's no live chat. So like,
- 22:49whoever. And I actually have like a lot of good 49ers
- 22:52fan followers, but you know how this is. It's a majority thing. It's not like
- 22:56that there's not individually awesome fans in every fan base. I, I trolled
- 23:00the fuck out. I never troll. I never troll because it never goes well,
- 23:03but I had to do it. I was like, Fred Warner's too cool for the
- 23:0649ers. I wish he was a Baltimore Raven. Oh dude, how great. They got so
- 23:10mad. My girlfriend's a 49er fan, by the way, and that's the worst thing about
- 23:14her. Do you know how many men were like this is why women shouldn't talk
- 23:17about football. I was like, oh my God, cry, cry, cry,
- 23:20crybaby. There's nothing more soft
- 23:24as a man to get than like get it like, this is why women—
- 23:28you're a fucking bitch. And like, also, I'm sorry,
- 23:31I'm, I'm so, so, so sorry to break it to you, but like,
- 23:34I've, I've worked with more NFL players than you can name off the top of
- 23:38your head. Like, you're such a bummer. Like, you're bumming me out with your whole
- 23:40thing. I've seen more NFL players naked than you
- 23:44fucking can name. Honestly? Yeah. I hate the fact— I hate that fact that that's
- 23:47true. I have as well, in various different situations. Me only in
- 23:51one, the showers. Headline number 2. We're going to
- 23:55stay in this realm. We're going to just go a night earlier and we're going
- 23:58to talk about the Super Bowl rematch between the Patriots and
- 24:02the Seahawks. More shit football. This is one of those things where I,
- 24:06I went into it kind of assuming the Patriots were going to lose the game.
- 24:10I did too. But then And this is how the Patriots have been losing games.
- 24:14And it's really infuriating is like they're like, actually,
- 24:17no, we can win it. We're, we're about to win it. Never mind.
- 24:20Yeah. And that is the worst way if you're like a fan of a team
- 24:23to watch, like just lose, just like look kind of crappy the whole time,
- 24:27have it like completely not in your possession whatsoever, have no
- 24:30way to win it and just fuck it. Why is it like this every time?
- 24:33So the Drake Maye factor is a big part of that since
- 24:37the playoffs last year where it's just like he kept getting lucky, lucky. I will
- 24:40say, what I want on record is that both of these defenses played really
- 24:44well. The Patriots defense was great. Their pass rush was
- 24:49way better than I expected. Christian Gonzalez played like the best cornerback
- 24:53in the NFL, which he got paid to be. He wasn't letting any shit happen
- 24:56on his side of the fucking field. The Patriots defense looked great. The Seahawks defense
- 25:00looked fucking great. The Seahawks lose Sam Darnold,
- 25:04which blows, by the way, like in the 4th play
- 25:07of the game. Yeah, it was fucking Sucks. Aaron Rodgers fucking 3 years
- 25:11ago, except that was fun. They said his hip muscles are intact.
- 25:14Thank God. Good news. By the way, I had that, that exact same thing that
- 25:18happened the way his knee got driven, driven the ground with his hip. Same exact
- 25:21thing happened to me. And was your hip muscle intact? I got very lucky,
- 25:25but I, I had to miss 3 weeks, and I will tell you, it was
- 25:28exceedingly painful. Oh my God. Yeah, he's— I mean,
- 25:31you land and your knee lands like that and just pushes into your fucking hip
- 25:35joint. It's your hips, it's your back, it's your— it's all bad. So I'm—
- 25:39I'm— Drew Lock comes in. He— Drew Lock is one of those players
- 25:42where like he's like Gardner Minshew or like some of those like Ryan Fitzpatrick where
- 25:47you're like, he can play really well and he did play really well. But when
- 25:51you are playing Drew Lock instead of Sam Darnold, you now should be winning
- 25:54that game. Yeah. And the reality is that there
- 25:58were many things wrong in the Patriots approach
- 26:02offensively. Again, defensively they were great, but this looked like a team that was
- 26:06unprepared. To take on a defense that had just beat them
- 26:10in the Super Bowl. They just— the adjustments weren't there. AJ Brown gets hurt.
- 26:13That changed the complexion of the offense for them. But also they
- 26:17were missing their starting quarterback. So now that if they'd
- 26:21lost AJ Brown and they— and the Seahawks still had Sam Darnold,
- 26:24that's one thing. They lost their starting quarterback. You lost your starting wide receiver.
- 26:28These 2 things are not the same. You got to still win that game.
- 26:31Drake Maye throws 3 4th quarter interceptions. He threw 8
- 26:35picks all of last season. This is, this is a
- 26:39meltdown. One of them is a tip ball. Okay,
- 26:42whatever. You can still say like there's still an issue there. But one
- 26:46of them, there was a Romeo Doubs drop, right? That was a bad drop.
- 26:49It was a bad drop. But also that was informed by the fact that there
- 26:53were, they were missed connections between those 2 players the entire
- 26:564th quarter specifically. They had not developed a rapport.
- 27:00They're leaning on Rhamondre Stevenson once again. Once again, the play calling sucks.
- 27:04They're not going to the tight ends. There's all kinds of shit going on.
- 27:08Here's the thing. And my, my, my big question
- 27:14for you is like the— I wish it didn't
- 27:17always come down to quarterback conversation, but there's a
- 27:21lot of tension around the idea that Drake Maye was an
- 27:25amazing regular season quarterback against an easy schedule last year. Looked a
- 27:28lot less dynamic in the playoffs, makes the Super Bowl,
- 27:32isn't— doesn't play well in the Super Bowl, and then doesn't play well today.
- 27:35So it's been a minute— or this week, it's been a minute since we saw
- 27:38Drake Maye play at that like MVP level, which he was at. Yeah, he was.
- 27:42Do you think that this game specifically, in light of the playoffs,
- 27:47is like we should be pressing the panic button on Drake Maye?
- 27:51Like, are you starting to be like, this guy might not be he might not
- 27:55be what we thought he was. Or if it's not that, what are— where
- 28:00are you at with Drake Maye? So I've never been a huge Drake Maye guy.
- 28:03I'll freely admit that. I do think everyone has
- 28:06put him on a semblance of a pedestal that I don't think he necessarily
- 28:10deserves to be on. I do think the narrative of the easy
- 28:15schedule in the season he had is very real. I mean, he's not doing anything
- 28:19to make it— yeah, to make it seem like that wasn't the case. That final
- 28:22play of the game. Was something a truly
- 28:25terrified rookie would make. And I was blown away by it.
- 28:29By it. Like, truly blown away by it. Mainly because it was, what, 3rd and
- 28:325? So you have another down and you're already well in field goal range
- 28:35in a 3-point game. It was a fucking— it's baffling. It's a
- 28:39football, like, malpractice. Absolutely.
- 28:43And absolutely cannot make that. Nothing about that
- 28:46was mechanical. Nothing about that was scheme. That was just pure
- 28:51fucking panic and you threw it up for no fucking
- 28:55reason other than to do it. Time on the clock, field goal.
- 28:58I wish I could say anything else. It was fucking insane that
- 29:02I watched that happen. Yeah, I— that you would lose your mind if you saw
- 29:05that in a high school game. Yeah. That being said, panic— it's
- 29:10game 1 of the season. Yeah, he was just in
- 29:14the Super Bowl. Sure, I'm gonna get— and you know how it is for the
- 29:18first month, of the season. No one plays in the preseason. This is— we're in
- 29:21the preseason for the next 4 weeks. Listen, the MVP didn't exactly play great either,
- 29:24right? The MVP played like dog shit. In fact, the 2 MVP
- 29:28candidates played like dogs. Would you like a fun stat about that?
- 29:32I would. Uh, so this is the first time in NFL history
- 29:36that the top 2 finishers in the MVP voting the previous season each had their
- 29:40team score 10 or fewer points in the season opener. Um, which I— as I
- 29:44was watching that, I had a feeling. So when I found that stat, I wanted
- 29:47to include it because You and I have talked a ton about the weird conversations
- 29:51around quarterbacks, the racism, the dog whistles, the way certain quarterbacks are spoken
- 29:55about when they succeed, when they fail. You know, the, the leeway
- 29:59certain people get. The word quarterbacky. Sure. And so for me,
- 30:04this being— it's like we've got these 2 sort of great white hope types.
- 30:08Matthew Stafford's put in the fucking time. He's a 17-year veteran,
- 30:12you know, whatever. And then we've got the young guy. But let's be really honest
- 30:16with ourselves. Like, there was a, like a sort of salivating
- 30:20that was done by a segment of the media regarding these 2 being MVP
- 30:24quarterbacks that felt a little bit yucky. This was a rough showing.
- 30:28It was all offseason. They, they've been talking about Matt Stafford
- 30:32being either the best quarterback in the NFL or one of the best quarterbacks among
- 30:36the top 3 or 4, which I've never understood. Like, to me,
- 30:39Matthew Stafford is like a 6th, 7th best quarterback in the NFL. Who happened
- 30:43to have a great MVP season. I don't have an issue with him winning the
- 30:46MVP, but like the, the inability to, to, to handle the nuance
- 30:50of this is somebody who was a little underrated for a while and now
- 30:54has become a little bit overrated. We can't have normal
- 30:57conversations. But what I'm seeing is people saying like,
- 31:02oh, Matthew Stafford's getting all this grace after he,
- 31:05um, after he screwed up. Like he was awful in this game and everybody's like,
- 31:09oh, he'll get his shit together or whatever. But everybody's saying that Drake Maye is
- 31:12like a fucking bust now. These, like, they can't keep their,
- 31:15their narrative straight and all that stuff. I would,
- 31:19I would argue that the reason people are giving Matt
- 31:23Stafford the benefit of the doubt is because he's been playing in the NFL since
- 31:252009. Yeah, I would argue that we have literally watched him
- 31:28play football for 17 years. So when he has a really bad game, we have
- 31:32a, a 16-year career that gives us a sense of like, how good
- 31:37is Matthew Stafford? Let's be real. That's a first. He's a first ballot Hall of
- 31:39Famer. He's not. He's not a first ballot. You don't think so? Fuck no.
- 31:42Really? This is part of it. So this is part of the like, he's going
- 31:45to be— no, this is part of the overreaction, right?
- 31:49Of like how up until he won a Super
- 31:52Bowl, Matthew Stafford had never regularly broken
- 31:56into the top 8 of NFL quarterbacks. Yeah, but you had the Detroit narrative around
- 32:00that. No, there was no narrative. He was throwing hospital balls to
- 32:03fucking everybody. Like, no, he was Brett
- 32:07Favre without the MVPs. Like, he was Brett Favre without— like, that was what
- 32:11he was. He was a gunslinger. They call him a fucking cerebral quarterback last
- 32:15night. Matthew Stafford, not a cerebral quarterback. He's got a big arm and he's tough.
- 32:18That's what has always been his thing. But keep in mind, also last night's scheme
- 32:21was dogshit as well. He's not a cerebral quarterback. They ran the ball
- 32:25more times in that game than they have in like the last 4 years.
- 32:27He doesn't touch— he doesn't touch Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers,
- 32:31Drew Brees, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes. He doesn't fucking touch them. He doesn't touch them.
- 32:36Not in talent, not in statistical output, not in efficiency. Not in, in the
- 32:41ability to elevate the players around him on a team like that. Like, no,
- 32:44he is, he is an inarguable Hall of Famer.
- 32:48He is an Eli Manning type Hall of Famer. Interesting. And that—
- 32:52but the narrative around it, I under— and I'm
- 32:56fine. I think Matthew Stafford, if in this, especially because
- 33:00he had a late career renaissance with the team that could
- 33:03actually utilize his skill sets the best, I think it's a good story,
- 33:07and I think it— I, I wouldn't be mad if it ends up in the
- 33:10Hall of Fame, but absolutely not. He's not even fucking— like,
- 33:13it's, it's a genuine— I think he's going in the first ballot. He's not.
- 33:17Eli Manning didn't, and he had— I know, but like, the greatest Super Bowl wins.
- 33:20No, you're right about that, but Eli Manning had a whole thing where he,
- 33:23like, his whole career, like, there was a very specific narrative around
- 33:27it. What is your understanding of Matthew Stafford's, like, career statistics? No,
- 33:31no, no, I, I know what his career statistics are, but he at least— he
- 33:34had for that entire Detroit run, a full-on narrative that he
- 33:38was put in— basically, he was put in the worst position ever.
- 33:42Greatest wide receiver of a generation. He did.
- 33:45He had Megatron. You're right, he was fine. I'm just telling you,
- 33:49that is the narrative. That is the national narrative around— no, the narrative was that
- 33:52this is his excuse for not making the playoffs. That's a— which is valid.
- 33:56You can't make the playoffs. They threw out that he was a crash test dummy
- 33:59all the time. He was running for his life at all times and had to
- 34:02make throws that he didn't— wouldn't have made otherwise. I'm not saying it's right or
- 34:05wrong. I'm just telling you that was what he said. He was throwing hospital balls
- 34:08last, last season in the playoffs. This is what he does. He and, and Sean
- 34:13McVay schemes him to throw situations that— in situations he shouldn't be throwing. Like,
- 34:16he's— they're a match made in heaven. But, but Matthew Stafford
- 34:20is a great quarterback, and we need to be okay with dudes being
- 34:23great and not first ballot Hall of Famers. I'm so tired of everybody— but
- 34:28like, I'm so tired of the, of the conversation boiling down to if they're
- 34:32great they're a first ballot Hall of Famer. No, no, they're not.
- 34:36They're not. Right. Like, arguably right now, Josh Allen's
- 34:40not a first ballot. We're going to need to make a bet on this.
- 34:42Not because I think you're wrong, but I just— what I do think there's a
- 34:46narrative around specifically Matthew Stafford where I think he would be a first ballot Hall
- 34:49of Famer because the voters— I think I'm telling you right now, it's not fucking
- 34:52happening. I'm telling you right now, it's not fucking happening. I look forward to when
- 34:56we enter an alternate universe It's not
- 34:59fucking happening. You think we're not in an alternate fucking universe?
- 35:03Well, you really think that? Good. I want to make this bet.
- 35:07This is gonna be a great bet. Let's do it. I mean, listen, it's,
- 35:10it's not one of those things where like, even if they did,
- 35:14I would— it would be so pathetic. Like, if you look at
- 35:18the list of who's actually been voted in first ballot at quarterback,
- 35:21yeah, like he doesn't— he can't hold their jocks. Like,
- 35:24it's Probably. But I got to say, probably if I had my
- 35:28choice between holding their jocks or having the amount of money that Matthew Stafford has
- 35:31made, because I think he's like 3rd all time in the NFL. Oh, I'm sorry.
- 35:34We're talking about money now? Why not? I didn't— I'm not saying one equates to
- 35:38the other. I'm just giving you all the facts. Why'd you bring it up?
- 35:41Because I'd rather have that. I would too.
- 35:45The end. That's a— that's like you just brought up a totally different thing.
- 35:48It's relatively related. Well, I mean, I think Tom
- 35:52Brady's doing well, too, with money. He's doing fine. Just so we're clear, he's doing
- 35:54just fine. He's been able to buy like 4 new Jaws.
- 35:58Yeah, well, you know, the job keeps— budget
- 36:02is high. It's getting weirder and weirder.
- 36:06Something that we both agree on is headline 3,
- 36:10which is we're always right and never wrong.
- 36:13Oh, weird. Isn't that crazy? I can't believe— never wrong. Can't believe
- 36:17this happened. Can't believe that cooler heads prevailed
- 36:21because I can't believe the threat of expelling LSU
- 36:25didn't come to fruition. No way they didn't expel LSU.
- 36:29You know, like one of their most popular teams that generates a fuck ton
- 36:34of money for them, probably second in the entire conference. So the SEC
- 36:38is not expelling. There's going to be no sanctions regarding
- 36:42the meeting on the expulsion. The conference issued a statement following the highly anticipated
- 36:46meeting on Thursday. That indicated they would decide
- 36:50whether to terminate LSU from the SEC. According to the statement, the video conference
- 36:55was meant to discuss recent matters involving conference expectations and responsibilities.
- 36:58Those discussions will continue at the conference and its members' universities work
- 37:03toward the appropriate resolution. The threat of expulsion had subsided in recent
- 37:07days as the football program backed off its desire to add former NFL rookies Daquan
- 37:10Wright and Xavien Harris to its roster. In a letter to SEC Commissioner Greg
- 37:15Sankey. School President Wade Roos on Wednesday
- 37:19said the Tigers complied with the conference rules by not rostering former pros,
- 37:23calling the issue moot. I will say the SEC rules currently,
- 37:28or the, the Louisiana judge had ordered that
- 37:32they were cleared. Those players were cleared to go back and play college
- 37:36football. So like the SEC being pissy about it didn't fucking
- 37:40matter because the court had overruled it. But They still complied.
- 37:44Fine. They're like, oh, we don't need— we, we absolutely slaughtered Dabo
- 37:48and fucking Clemson. Fine, dude, we won't sign them. Are you happy?
- 37:52And, and the SEC is like, oh, thank God. Now we don't have to pretend
- 37:55that we're like— you guys were never going to kick them out anyway. This was
- 37:58a fucking dog and pony show and an embarrassing
- 38:01one to boot. I don't know.
- 38:05Is there anything more embarrassing right now than the SEC and how they handled this
- 38:08entire situation? And LSU for that matter. By the way, I don't necessarily think LSU
- 38:12is in the wrong in this entire situation. Again, these are— they're not in the
- 38:15wrong or the right. Like, like no one— I feel like everyone's like weirdly wrong
- 38:19now. Like, the SEC sucks the most, but that's only because of
- 38:22the systemic sort of like setup. It's not really because LSU is
- 38:26like likable. This is like one of those situations where like, hey, the worst person
- 38:30you ever met in your life just made a good point. Like, it's that shit.
- 38:32It's lame Kiffin. And it's fucking lame Kiffin. Fuck.
- 38:36Yeah, it's— it's— I hope they all eat
- 38:40each other. Yeah. And between— so between all of this bullshit
- 38:43and like what's been going on in the Big Ten and the Michigan stuff and
- 38:47whatever, I am at the point now where as
- 38:51long as— as long as these
- 38:55major, you know, programs are going to continue
- 38:59to be embroiled in scandal. Yeah. I, I,
- 39:03I hope they all lose to Indiana again. Like, I hope that some—
- 39:07all I want in the world is for some other random school to pop up
- 39:11and ruin their lives and keep, and keep forcing us to,
- 39:14like, face the reality that, like, even with the NIL money, these people
- 39:18can't win. I can't deal with the,
- 39:21with the whining about players getting paid when
- 39:26the reigning champion is Indiana. The reason Indiana had
- 39:30NIL money is because of the talent that they brought in. Like,
- 39:33I— you guys are like, it's like, what are we supposed to do when they
- 39:37can just— when Michigan— when Dave Portnoy can just pay for a quarterback?
- 39:41Well, that quarterback fucking sucked in that game. And what
- 39:45do you mean, what are you supposed to do? That none of these teams you're
- 39:47worried about were even in the fucking title game.
- 39:50What are we even talking about? The, the reigning champions
- 39:55are Indiana. Yeah, the historical
- 39:59football powerhouse. Why are we acting like football is broken?
- 40:03Like, I'm so— can I actually say this?
- 40:07Football, NCAA football was fucking broken for like 15 years and it
- 40:11was an SEC. I'm sorry. Yeah. Like, I don't recall them ever getting a BCS
- 40:16national champion. Can we all, can we all like knock this shit off? This was—
- 40:19this is like the college playoff had turned into like this beat, this SEC fucking
- 40:23thing. It was the same team every single
- 40:27fucking year. Until Phil Knight bought Oregon, pretty much,
- 40:30and then they added them into them. Like, like, I don't know what else
- 40:34to say. And Cam Newton went to fucking Auburn. But this is like the same
- 40:37fucking conversation we had like fucking a week ago, 2 weeks ago. Like,
- 40:41what you guys are like, you have weird-ass nostalgia of some sort
- 40:45of fucking universe that never happened. College football has been the most corrupt,
- 40:49fucked up thing that exists in all of sports.
- 40:52Like, it's fucking insane. It's, it's been borderline slave
- 40:57labor. Fucking insane. And you guys all want to get it back to there.
- 41:00It's fucking crazy. And, and right now, I honestly think we're dealing with more
- 41:04parity now than we were in the past because more— there's more opportunity.
- 41:07As much as I agree that JMU had no chance in hell of actually
- 41:11going anything in the playoff last year, I don't give a fuck. Glad they're there.
- 41:15We're getting— Indiana won the fucking title last
- 41:19year. The fucking Hoosiers? I didn't know they had a fucking football team till
- 41:233 goddamn years ago. And that— and Curt Cignetti
- 41:27is like, fuck, hilarious. Like a truly insane person. Um,
- 41:31so like just evidence that just— yeah, I don't— I, I don't— I don't have
- 41:35any issues. I, I don't care. I don't feel bad for the SEC. I don't
- 41:39feel bad for the Big Ten. I don't feel bad for any of these fucking
- 41:41conferences. I don't feel bad for any of these teams. I'm so sorry. We're Big
- 41:45Ten people. We're UCLA people. You know why? Because we're going gonna be at the
- 41:48Rose Bowl next week together. We are at the Rose Bowl. The Regulars is gonna
- 41:52take a suite at the Rose Bowl and we're gonna fucking party.
- 41:55Yes, and we might be doing it quite a bit throughout the season because,
- 41:58uh, I am now an official season ticket holder.
- 42:01I got a letter from the new acting AD today.
- 42:05He— it was sent to everyone, but I felt it was a personal touch to
- 42:09this one. And, uh, he thanked me for my donation. He was like, be sure
- 42:13to bring your co-host. He's like, make sure you bring the hot one. Make sure
- 42:18the hot girl's here to promote UCLA. No one fucking
- 42:22cares that you did this if Tanya doesn't show up. This is nothing.
- 42:25I'm gonna wear my Michigan gear there. Don't you fucking dare.
- 42:29You're wearing— you don't need to wear anything UCLA, but wear
- 42:33blue. Okay, I'll wear a tint of blue. I'll wear navy blue
- 42:36and gold. I'm actually okay with that, which is Michigan colors,
- 42:40but there is no M on Anywhere. Okay.
- 42:43You can wear a Jordan logo. It is a Nike school these days. We were
- 42:47Adidas when I was there and it was one of these— I'm a big Adidas
- 42:49person. So am I, because of my sneaker situation. You and I both have the
- 42:52same similar sneakers. Like, I'm a huge Adidas person. But you have to understand,
- 42:55when I was at UCLA, because I had an Adidas deal during my baseball career
- 42:58at one point. I talked about your cleats. We talked. Yeah, he had a Reebok
- 43:01contract, which was— sorry, Adidas. The Reebok contract was the best.
- 43:05Yeah. Then I had an Adidas contract, which is actually really good.
- 43:08But when I was in college, we had— we were an Adidas school at UCLA.
- 43:12Adidas wasn't doing anything in baseball. We were wearing spikes
- 43:16from 1994. I mean, were you at least— you could at least
- 43:20pretend you were like Jose Canseco if you wanted to.
- 43:23Sure. But he, he, he, he was able to inject things that probably
- 43:26took away a significant amount of pain to his feet that we could
- 43:29not take away at the time. Well, you know, you win
- 43:33some, you lose some. Then Adidas eventually made like the greatest spikes ever.
- 43:36It just happened to be like 10 years after I was in college. So sorry
- 43:39to hear that. So, you know, thanks. Good, good Adidas. I was also— I was
- 43:42a soccer kid, so of course Adidas was like— no, and I love Adidas now.
- 43:45Like, and I, I'm, I'm a, I'm a sneakerhead. I'm, I'm, you know, I prefer
- 43:48Air Force Ones. That's my thing. But no, but for workout sneakers, the Adidas that
- 43:52I wear are the only thing I've worn for so long. My favorite shoe of
- 43:56all time. Like, I— and I have like 3 pairs of it, and I will
- 44:00be more. Uh, the Adidas Ultraboost. That's what I wear. It's the single greatest shoe
- 44:03ever made. Let's fucking go. The fucking— the Adidas Ultraboost are the the only fucking
- 44:07sneakers I will work out in. Look at my fucking eyes. It's the greatest shoe
- 44:11ever invented. It's so good. Ever invented. I don't— invented.
- 44:15I, I like was suffering, suffering until— and every
- 44:18iteration, by the way, they have not like— they've not gotten worse like every single
- 44:22time. Because you know how they'll sometimes change it. Do you wear— do you have
- 44:25the knit one? I have every— I've had every single— so have I, but I,
- 44:28I, I only buy the knit currently. The ones that
- 44:32I have right now are the knit I— they remember they were doing the
- 44:36like, um, the piece of like rubber that had the—
- 44:40yes, yes, yes, yes, the stripes on it. I liked that better. Now it just
- 44:43has like a, a stripe. Yeah, I liked that when it had like the rubber
- 44:46ingrain, but other than that— so I'm— I, I have— here's
- 44:50the problem with it. I don't think it's a particularly attractive shoe. Yeah,
- 44:53it's just such a comfortable shoe. I actually think the women's look
- 44:57really good. I think the all-white one That's what I
- 45:00have. You see, I have 2 pairs over the years. Like, it gets dirty so
- 45:03easy. No. Oh, so hard to get— it's so easy. Well, you— do you
- 45:06work out outside? No, no, I have one that I work out in, and those
- 45:10are— those are dirty because I work out in them. I don't care. I have—
- 45:13I have 2 pairs that are just walking around. Okay. And it doesn't
- 45:17take much. Oh dude, but you— those things dry so fast. I know, but they
- 45:20need to be pearly white. But you— I can get mine pearly white that I'm
- 45:24sending them. You just need OxiClean. That I'm sending my shoes to you. I'll bring
- 45:27them home with me. Done, done. Bring your stinky-ass sneakers home with me. No,
- 45:31no, I wash all my shoes, make no mistake. Just the, the wash. I just
- 45:34need you to help me. Okay, bring out the best of the whites.
- 45:37A phrase I hope I never say again. Bring out the best in these whites.
- 45:41We are trying to bring out the best. We are trying to. Never— a phrase
- 45:45I'm gonna say a lot. Bring out the best in these whites. We gotta bring
- 45:48out the best in these whites because these whites are fucking Racist.
- 45:53These racist whites are not really doing it for us. We're trying to bring out
- 45:56the best in them. I'm tired of these, these whites.
- 45:59Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Mocha hates a
- 46:03dirty white. Yeah.
- 46:05Yeah. Headline. Our final headline real quick. This is something I actually
- 46:09just kind of wanted to ask you about. Ask me what you think. I think
- 46:12it is interesting because even now, because some of us, some of us respect each
- 46:15other's expertise in these spaces.
- 46:18Right. I respect your baseball expertise. Thank you. Yeah, I was a major leaguer.
- 46:24Oh, did you hear about the kid that— the 30-year-old that got called up after
- 46:2812 years in AAA to the Mets? Good for him. Yeah, I'm really, really excited.
- 46:32Um, his name is— he's— I'm sorry, it wasn't the Mets, it's the Blue Jays.
- 46:35Uh, Rudy Martin Jr. You're my favorite fucking player,
- 46:38Rudy Martin. Look at this motherfucker. Look how cool he looks too. Fuck yeah,
- 46:42I know, Rudy, you're the fucking man. You're the fucking man. I thought you were
- 46:45gonna love him, so I saved the fucking man, bro. 12 years,
- 46:50drafted in the 24th round, which doesn't exist anymore. Nope, I was 22nd
- 46:54round, my man. Yeah, so we're gonna— we're
- 46:57all Rudy. Rudy, you're the— you're the real Rudy.
- 47:01You're the real Rudy. Uh, so that was exciting, and I want to tell you,
- 47:03I'm fucking— that made me happy. Thank you. Might have made my day. Yeah,
- 47:06because everything else has been— I know. And so you can— you can refer Rudy
- 47:09on the Blue Jays. My Cadillac's in the shop. Uh, no, we're not going to
- 47:12talk about our car situations. No one wants to know what's happening Both of our
- 47:16cars. Yeah. All right. Headline number 4
- 47:19is this question about who's to blame in the
- 47:24Shohei Ohtani injury saga. It's a good question. This take from The Athletic
- 47:28is that it's everybody, everyone and everybody.
- 47:31I'll read the quick little blurb and then I do kind of want
- 47:35to hear your take. Nobody's blameless in the Shohei Ohtani injury
- 47:39saga, not the Los Angeles Dodgers front office, which should have
- 47:42been more proactive in protecting the team's biggest star, not Ohtani, who downplayed the severity
- 47:47of his symptoms. And while hindsight is always 20/20, there were warning signs throughout the
- 47:50last few weeks that suggested a stint on the IR— on
- 47:53the IL was the safest course of action, and the organization
- 47:57wanted to give its prized star the best possible chance at healing.
- 48:02If they did that, that's what they would have been doing. As the Dodgers
- 48:06prepare to be without Ohtani until September 23rd at the earliest, Their biggest concern
- 48:10has become a reality. When Ohtani, who is expected to be placed on the IL
- 48:13on Friday, does return, there's no guarantee he'll be in optimal
- 48:17condition for the postseason. Now, you and I have talked a lot about where the
- 48:20Dodgers have been at since the whole situation over the last couple
- 48:24of months. We have definitely seen them backslide in a way that nobody
- 48:27necessarily expected. Well, they have won 7 in a row, though. In fairness, they're playing
- 48:31great now. Right. But I mean, like, they're also— there's also been like a lot
- 48:34of struggles. There's issues. There have been issues. So happy to tell you any of
- 48:37them. Number one, do you think that the Ohtani situation is a problem?
- 48:41And if you do, who is there? Is there a reasonable
- 48:46expectation that there could have— there could have been something more preventative in this situation?
- 48:49Okay. I want to— who wrote this, by the way? The Athletic.
- 48:53I would love their name because I know for a fact they're listening to
- 48:56my fan show. Okay. I know for a fact. All right. They have to be
- 49:00because this is Katie Wu. Katie Wu's listening to my show. Yeah. Um,
- 49:04because Katie Wu is correct. This is exactly the take I have.
- 49:07Um, no one and everyone is to blame at
- 49:12the end of the day. So it is everyone. I mean, there is the— you
- 49:14do believe there was a— there were measures that could have been taken? This has
- 49:18been— I've been saying now for a week and a half, you need
- 49:22to put Ohtani on the IL. Okay. There is clearly something wrong
- 49:25with him. Okay. And I believed it was more of a shoulder issue than it
- 49:28was knee issue because he was, you know,
- 49:31shaking out his arm. And it was very clear he wasn't hiding that he was
- 49:35hurt. And even Dave Roberts had to address it after a game. Here's the thing
- 49:38about Shohei Ohtani and Shohei Ohtani's contract. He has Shohei Ohtani,
- 49:42he has his people, and the Dodgers have Dave Roberts and they have their
- 49:45people. And this has been a kind of a symbiotic conversational thing.
- 49:50Shohei Ohtani is one of one in Major League Baseball. Shohei Ohtani kind of has
- 49:53final say. He's the most powerful person, sort of like a LeBron type,
- 49:57very much a LeBron type, but like, but very collaborative.
- 50:00Everyone's working together. But I also— LeBron's like that too. But I also believe Shohei
- 50:03Ohtani is not expressing exactly how much pain he's been in, because you have
- 50:07to understand what Shohei Ohtani does. Like, the— I don't understand how it's even possible,
- 50:11how much pain I was in just being an offensive player, let alone with
- 50:15a subpar human. And you're just not— you're not built like Ohtani. Every major
- 50:19leaguer is subpar in this sport. I'm obviously Obviously fucking— no, no, no, I'm agreeing
- 50:22with that. I was definitely subpar, but now compared to Ohtani, everyone is. Because,
- 50:26yeah, right. But no, there's, there's like, there's every normal athlete
- 50:29that's a professional, then there's like Ohtani and LeBron and Serena Williams and
- 50:33like Simone Biles and like their own category, right? Yeah. Um, at the
- 50:37end of the day, it's Shohei Ohtani's decision and everyone's,
- 50:41and Dave Roberts is going to adhere to it, and I
- 50:45don't believe he has final say. I do think he has
- 50:48an opinion. Do you think anybody in the Dodgers organization could say
- 50:52to Ohtani, I really love that you want to keep playing? You're on the IL
- 50:56right now. Yes, I do. I 100% think they do. But I do think
- 50:59the final say would be coming from Shohei Ohtani. No, I honestly—
- 51:04okay. I think they know sometimes you do this. You have to— you just said
- 51:082 things. No, no. Well, your question— my question is, is there
- 51:11anybody in the Dodgers organization that can shut down Ohtani Regardless
- 51:16of what he wants? Yes, but that—
- 51:21who is it? Probably Andrew Friedman. Okay. The president of
- 51:25baseball ops. But I got to say, he won't. I don't
- 51:28think he would if Ohtani said no, because I
- 51:32do think that was the— that's part of the premise of the conversation. No,
- 51:34no, it's a fair premise. You're saying there's some— if there was anybody who would
- 51:39try, it would be Andrew Friedman. Or Mark Walter
- 51:44himself, right? But he's not— is he that involved? I don't know.
- 51:48Yeah, but here's the thing, Mark Walter is busy trying to sell— he's got enough
- 51:52problems. He's got a problem now. But I— you have to understand, there's also this
- 51:55aspect that I do think is kind of lost in the translation. Like, I want
- 51:59to make it abundantly clear, this is like— this is very confusing because there was
- 52:03this preventable thing that could have happened. Shohei Ohtani played in a game about 4
- 52:06nights ago. He should not have played in that game. In fact, He should have
- 52:09gone on the IL about 5 days earlier. He took about 5 days off and
- 52:12he came back for that one game. And I was thinking, what the fuck are
- 52:14you guys doing? Put him on the IL, retroactive him back 5 games, give him
- 52:18a goddamn month off. I'm at the point where I'm like, he should just shut
- 52:21him down. And they freely have now admitted even when he comes back, he's not
- 52:25going to be 100%. This has been,
- 52:28I think, a lot of lost in translation, not because of Japanese or
- 52:32anything. This has been more lost in translation. English perfectly,
- 52:35perfectly well. This is more lost in translation, pardon the expression,
- 52:39due to the idea that basically Shohei Ohtani is
- 52:44superhuman. He knows he's superhuman and is, but he's not.
- 52:48I know. So that's what we're seeing. Like Shohei had to miss seasons pitching.
- 52:52He said like, this is not, you know, when I see this sort of superhuman
- 52:55behavior, um, from— he's now 31
- 53:00years old though. So it's which We're getting to real realistic
- 53:04life. Okay, but you have to remember that like these are— this is, this is
- 53:07the era where across sports players are able to
- 53:11sort of sustain their bodies in ways that are different than they were before.
- 53:14Now the pitching is going to go before the hitting. We all know that.
- 53:17That's like a whole thing. I've expected him to not pitch after 2 years.
- 53:21This is not a player that has been, that has been free of injury or
- 53:25free of sort of taking specific time. Multiple Tommy John So what I'm
- 53:28saying is like, we— I know why LeBron might overestimate
- 53:33his body. I know why, like Serena, I know why,
- 53:38uh, like, uh, somebody like Cal Ripken or Eli
- 53:41Manning with these like crazy games played in a row
- 53:45stats might overestimate their bodies and push because
- 53:49they're like, I don't get hurt, right? I don't get hurt.
- 53:53Here. Oh, Shohei gets hurt. Yes. Where is the arrogance?
- 53:57Okay, though, the arrogance is coming from this because when he was hurt, he wasn't—
- 54:00yes, he was hurt in that he had Tommy John surgery and couldn't
- 54:04pitch. He won an MVP that year because
- 54:08he was so ridiculous offensively because the Tommy John surgery didn't stop
- 54:11him. The Tommy John surgery stopped him from winning a title? No,
- 54:15he won a World Series with the Dodgers that year. So he didn't miss time
- 54:19is what you're saying? No, not with the Dodgers. He got Tommy John surgery in
- 54:22the offseason after the Angels. Then came to the Dodgers, wasn't able to pitch for
- 54:25this first full year. He didn't— when became he— that's fine, he was
- 54:2950-50 and won the MVP and a World Series. But what I'm talking about
- 54:32is he didn't pitch, so just stop pitching. No, I agree, that is always going
- 54:36to be the case. This is the problem: he had already stopped pitching. He was
- 54:39trying to come back to pitching, and the problem is everyone was saying bicep injury.
- 54:43I, I want to make it about— bicep is not the injury, it's bicep tendon.
- 54:46A bicep injury goes into your shoulder. He has a shoulder injury.
- 54:50The shoulder injury is fucking everything up. That's the problem.
- 54:53Now it's becoming a neck injury. He can't pitch anymore. In my
- 54:57opinion, he shouldn't have been fucking trying to pitch after he
- 55:01stopped pitching like 2 months ago. There is a bit to me there. What all
- 55:05you're doing is convincing me that there is a bit of Shohei imposing
- 55:09his, his personal ambition. Yes.
- 55:13Onto a team that is trying to win a fucking title. His personal
- 55:16ambition this year was about winning a Cy Young. They were not quiet about it
- 55:20and he was not quiet about it. And he wanted to get back to doing
- 55:22it, which I will say. And he was on his way to doing it.
- 55:24A lot of players would get lambasted for that, but he was on
- 55:28his way of doing that. And when he— but, but hear me out. After he
- 55:31came out of doing that, he was still offensively playing like the
- 55:35MVP as time went forward. And when you were Cy
- 55:39Young, though, the MVP is not the Cy Young. Agreed. And he didn't want the
- 55:41MVP anymore. He wanted the Cy Young. And I understand he won a Cy Young.
- 55:44No. No, he hasn't. So this was like— and he was on track for it.
- 55:48I'm starting to get a little bit suspicious of Shohei's ambition. His ambition was very
- 55:52specific. But you have to understand that also, just hear me out. I'm not
- 55:56hearing— you're not the issue. Shohei's the issue. You can say whatever you want.
- 55:59The Dodgers also live a very charmed life during this entire process. While Shohei
- 56:03has been a little down and not even hitting well, the Dodgers still have the
- 56:072nd best record in Major League Baseball by a game and a half. They are
- 56:11still on pace to win another 100 games. They actually don't even need Shohei to
- 56:14win a title. They do not. In fact, since Shohei's been on— not even
- 56:17on the IL, since he's been sitting down, the Dodgers have won 7 of those
- 56:218 games. They've won 7 in a row. They're playing great without Shohei. Their,
- 56:24uh, entire roster is perfectly fine. Like, if, if Shohei is,
- 56:27is at his best and he just puts them over the top to
- 56:31100%, undeniable. But like, so I— my thoughts was he needed to be
- 56:35shut down a couple of weeks ago. If he's a fucking DH, I've been saying
- 56:39it all along. Shohei should have been shut down a couple of weeks ago.
- 56:41This is just— but here I think this is a combination of a lot of
- 56:45things, and I'm not trying to make excuses for Shohei, the Dodgers, or anybody.
- 56:48I'm just saying, they finally— this is the first time I've raised my eyebrows at
- 56:51like, Shohei, what are we doing? Shohei was going for certain things. I think
- 56:56he thought he had more in the tank than he did. That is some privileged-ass
- 56:59shit. That's like, I'm on the Dodgers, I make more money than any human's ever
- 57:04made in sports, and You know what? I want a Cy Young. And the last
- 57:07time I was hurt, I won an MVP anyways. I like— it's just this
- 57:11isn't like— it's not that, but it's not that going specifically for a Cy Young.
- 57:15Oh, he was— is like, so for somebody whose
- 57:19pitching has been like— he's been amazing when he's been a great pitcher,
- 57:23but like, that's a skill set that's going to decline really quickly.
- 57:26Yes. To like prioritize that is— is that
- 57:30if I were a Dodgers fan, I'd be so frustrated with it. But also
- 57:34it's Shohei Ohtani. How mad can you possibly be at somebody who's like literally
- 57:38created your team into a dynasty? It's almost like
- 57:42you almost got to be like, yeah, kind of. If you're a Dodger fan,
- 57:45you're like, you're like, look what he's done for us. We kind of got to
- 57:48let him try, right? You know, I think what's happening in my brain right
- 57:52now is I am equating him to LeBron, and I'm thinking
- 57:55about the, the 20-plus years of LeBron is
- 57:59selfish. LeBron only cares about himself. LeBron only cares about this, that, and the other
- 58:03thing. While watching him absolutely fucking put his whole body
- 58:08on the line, play more minutes than anyone's ever fucking played in any fucking sport.
- 58:12We've never seen anything like it. He's played so many more minutes
- 58:16than any other NBA player. Um, and him going and,
- 58:19and carrying these teams for like years
- 58:23with no fucking help on the Cavs. And then, oh, so much shit
- 58:27just because he wanted to play with Dwyane Wade. So much shit because when he
- 58:30went back to the Cavs he had Kyrie. Oh, thank— like, God forbid he not
- 58:34have to carry Zydrunas Ilgauskas and a bunch of people we don't remember to fucking
- 58:38Finals, right? And it's just like, over— I've been listening to it for 20-plus
- 58:43years that he is just this selfish person who only cares about his fucking performance,
- 58:46which is not true. It's— he's the ultimate team
- 58:49player. He can play all these positions. You don't want— he doesn't— he— oh,
- 58:53we don't need him to score tonight? He'll just be the best point guard in
- 58:56the league. Oh, you don't mean he'll just be the best rebounder in the league.
- 58:58And so when I, when I hear this, the excuse-making
- 59:01for like a player who might have— and by the way,
- 59:05this is more— this is less about Ohtani and more about the way people
- 59:08talk about sports, where it's like, he get— who gets the passes? And he's
- 59:13getting the pass, right? Here's the thing, okay, I don't know what it is.
- 59:14I'm not even mad at Ohtani. No, no, I'm sure you know that there's like
- 59:18a part of this that was like, I hear what— how you're even pointing this
- 59:21out, and I fucking totally hear Yeah,
- 59:26I wanted to see it. I really did see what I wanted
- 59:30to see him get. That's— I wanted to see him go for the Cy Young.
- 59:32And I wanted it. So I too, I just wanted it.
- 59:35And even though it was possibly hurting the Dodgers, it would have been really
- 59:39cool, but not at the expense. You are right. But again,
- 59:43what expense? The Dodgers are primed and ready to make another October
- 59:47run. They're not going to win. I honestly do not think they're
- 59:51going to win the NL. I honestly do not think they're going to. They can
- 59:54and they should, but I don't think they're going to. Yeah, I think there are
- 59:57too many teams in the National League that, one, have their number.
- 1:00:00Yeah. By the way, the Diamondbacks are fighting for a spot. If the Diamondbacks played
- 1:00:04the Dodgers in October, the Diamondbacks are knocking out the Dodgers. And the Diamondbacks
- 1:00:08have the Dodgers' number. They— when they went to the— when they fucking own them—
- 1:00:12when they went to the World Series, they beat the Dodgers and they Pretty easily.
- 1:00:15But I'm telling you, if the Diamondbacks make October and play
- 1:00:19against the Dodgers, I firmly believe the Dodgers will be knocked off. Bringing that up,
- 1:00:22by the way, because if the— if— and it's an if.
- 1:00:26No, this is a very small chance, but like the
- 1:00:30smallest of chances. First of all, the Diamondbacks need to make the playoffs. But if
- 1:00:32they do, and some way, somehow the universe collides
- 1:00:36where it's Diamondbacks-Red Sox in some way, shape, or form, I need
- 1:00:40to live here. For like a week and a half. I want— that's fine by
- 1:00:44me because you have to understand something. I don't know, because I'll
- 1:00:48be conflicted for that series. It doesn't matter what you care about. I know your
- 1:00:51husband is a diehard Diamondback. No, you can root for whoever— what I'm saying is
- 1:00:55you can root for whoever you want. We can watch games together, whatever. But you're
- 1:00:57gonna— I lit— I don't— it's— I love the Diamondbacks so much.
- 1:01:01So do I. And, and he also loves the Red Sox, but the Diamondbacks
- 1:01:05are like his fucking team, right? Yeah. And like, I was like, Chris, I don't
- 1:01:08know that I can do that. Like, we— I want to
- 1:01:12root for the Diamondbacks so bad, but you can't get— but my brain,
- 1:01:16my body's gonna take over. I get it. Like, my favorite player is on the
- 1:01:19Diamondbacks, my favorite baseball player is on the Diamondbacks, but my body will take over.
- 1:01:23We got an extra room for you, you're fine. I mean, the studio's got a
- 1:01:26fucking— you can pull out that right there. You have a pull-out bed in the
- 1:01:29studio. Yep, we have everything here. Yeah, no, no, guys, we have everything.
- 1:01:33We have everything, and we're going to be showing you everything Hopefully live if our
- 1:01:37fucking system doesn't fucking do what it did today. Yeah,
- 1:01:40seriously, I'm gonna have some very angry conversations with a company soon.
- 1:01:44Um, we— before we head out, we do need to do a little bit
- 1:01:47of media corner here because— oh, I saw this. This— holy
- 1:01:51shit, I saw this. I fucking couldn't believe what— I'm having a little
- 1:01:55bit of an identity crisis, dude. He needs you back so bad. It's so
- 1:02:00bad. No one's needed— I need Tanya. No one needs Tanya
- 1:02:04more than fucking Colin Cowherd needs Tanya. I— all right, I'm gonna, I'm gonna
- 1:02:08preface this with, uh, so Cowherd interviewed Sophie Cunningham on his podcast.
- 1:02:11Gross. Um, and before we get into what that entailed, that everybody
- 1:02:16needs to know that I worked on Colin Cowherd's, uh, show The Herd on Fox
- 1:02:20Sports 1 for 6 and a half, almost more than 6, almost 7 years.
- 1:02:23I really like Cowherd,
- 1:02:26liked Cowherd. I enjoyed working with him. He was a good person.
- 1:02:30He seemed to work hard. He listened to his production staff.
- 1:02:34He was collaborative. He was still a white guy
- 1:02:38of a certain generation, and he had his predispositions, but he was certainly
- 1:02:42willing to have conversations. And,
- 1:02:46and I've worked with a lot of fucking people. I've worked with everybody
- 1:02:49that you could possibly think of. I've probably worked with them or know somebody who
- 1:02:52has. And I like Colin. I don't
- 1:02:57know what's happening here, but this was like a, a, a twist
- 1:03:01that like genuinely made me feel a little bit gross. It was not good.
- 1:03:04So he had Sophie Cunningham on his podcast, the WNBA
- 1:03:08player who started the whole trans panic in the WNBA. Yep.
- 1:03:11Who already is on our bad side. And the fact that she's on his podcast
- 1:03:16is quite literally only because she's become this sort of white
- 1:03:20America anti-trans phenomenon. She's not a great WNBA player.
- 1:03:24She's a passable bench player. Yeah. Um, and that's fine,
- 1:03:28and that's fine. There's room for that. But that's what she is. So in this
- 1:03:32conversation, he has this weird moment where he's
- 1:03:36like, I, you know, I don't know how to bring this
- 1:03:40up or how to say it, but, uh, you're like the WNBA's
- 1:03:44like sex symbol. No, she's not.
- 1:03:48There's so much wrong with— and she's like, just say it. That made me sick,
- 1:03:51by the way. She's like, just say it, just say it, I don't care,
- 1:03:52I don't care. And she was anticipating being called like a transphobe
- 1:03:56or something, so she was like relieved that all he said was, yeah, you're hot.
- 1:04:00And he had to say, no, you're really fucking hot. You are
- 1:04:04so gross. Like, it was— and he was like looking off, and he— it was
- 1:04:07like he was uncomfortable to say it, but then he said it anyway. The whole
- 1:04:10thing was odd. And she was like, no, no, it's cool, whatever. And I didn't
- 1:04:13even watch her response. Like, I literally had to clock out. But here's the thing,
- 1:04:17Sophie Cunningham— I— what I will say is that there is a segment
- 1:04:22of white supremacists who very specifically have used Sophie Cunningham
- 1:04:26as this, uh, like, she's so beautiful
- 1:04:30and that's why everyone hates her, because she's like a tall white blonde woman,
- 1:04:33and so everyone's jealous. They've decided that that's what it is with Sophie,
- 1:04:37and they're so grateful that Sophie exists because Nobody— they weren't really selling it with
- 1:04:40Caitlyn. But the thing is,
- 1:04:43um, and you and I have talked about this, so sex
- 1:04:48sim— so beauty's in the eye of the beholder. I actually do agree with that.
- 1:04:51I actually do. Like, there— I was just talking on the internet today about
- 1:04:55how I've had a crush on Oliver Platt since I was a child. Beauty is
- 1:04:58in the eye of the beholder. I'm not deadass— I would, I would do—
- 1:05:02I would, I would tomorrow. I would Oh,
- 1:05:05right now, Oliver Platt. You know what, Oliver Platt has so much
- 1:05:09fucking good sexual energy. He's hot. I don't know what it is. So my
- 1:05:14point is, I don't just say that. Nice. Okay,
- 1:05:16but on the flip side, sex symbol is a,
- 1:05:21is a very specific— like, we all have to agree
- 1:05:25on it. That's fucking nuts. Sex symbol is Halle Berry,
- 1:05:29you know, like talent and hotness, whatever. I'll even give you Sydney Sweeney.
- 1:05:34I'll, I'll give you that. I'll give you that. I, I am personally— she's not
- 1:05:37for us, but she's not my— honestly, I think Sydney Sweeney is like, yeah,
- 1:05:41she's attractive, but she's not like— I don't look at Sydney like— I don't even
- 1:05:44think she's attractive. Like, she's— I quite literally don't think she's hot.
- 1:05:48But also, she is a sex symbol because of the, like, the pervasiveness of her
- 1:05:52being very much so. Great body. Like, I think she's like— I think she's a
- 1:05:55good body. She's just not for me. Like, she's not my style. I'm not She's
- 1:05:59not my type. And if she came to me and said, let's have sex,
- 1:06:00I would probably say absolutely. But I mean, let's just give it a shot.
- 1:06:04But you should see my list. Yeah, but like,
- 1:06:09that's a broad statement. And the biggest problem I have
- 1:06:13with it is that by far the WNBA
- 1:06:17has the biggest like group of like
- 1:06:20beautiful, could-be-model athletes Yeah,
- 1:06:25that we have. Like, they're all tall and
- 1:06:29like incredible shape and really, really hot. And one of my
- 1:06:33biggest crushes right now is a WNBA player. Which one? I don't know.
- 1:06:36You don't want to say? No, I'm not doing this. Wait, really? Well, you know,
- 1:06:40you know, okay, you don't want to— time, you know, my all-time is Candace Parker,
- 1:06:44right? Yes. Yeah, I think Candace Parker is like one of the
- 1:06:48most attractive human beings that has ever existed. Planet Earth. But you don't know— but
- 1:06:51you're right now, you can't say we shouldn't. We don't need to do this.
- 1:06:54Why? Do you know— do you
- 1:06:58know who Ray Burrell is? What did you say? Doesn't matter, it's not
- 1:07:01important. No, wait, she's a member of the Sparks. She's on the Sparks.
- 1:07:05Oh, she's on the Sparks, so you don't want to get— you're— it's too proximate
- 1:07:08to you. It's close by. Okay, close by. I see what's happening. Just— just— do
- 1:07:12you know Ray Burrell? Yeah. Okay, do you know who she is? Okay, yes,
- 1:07:15yes, she's a good basketball player. Okay. He's a great— and by the way,
- 1:07:18I talk, I talk, and that's all. She's a good basketball player and I respect
- 1:07:22that. I respect her. I have every ability to
- 1:07:25say someone is extremely hot and good at basketball and we can talk about both.
- 1:07:29She's really— she's, she's also attractive. Yeah, like I
- 1:07:33have, I, I have a million crushes on
- 1:07:37WNBA players. Yeah, but the thing is that
- 1:07:41the— no, you have more than one right now. I got one.
- 1:07:44Okay, you got laser focused. I am. I, I can't— tunnel vision.
- 1:07:47Okay, actually admirable. Yeah, sorry, it's how I get it. I,
- 1:07:51I'm that guy. I am a member
- 1:07:54of the tall blonde white woman community.
- 1:07:57You are. This is true. I do know, right? So I am, you know,
- 1:08:02we don't sign up for it, although some of us do. Some people dye their
- 1:08:06hair. Sophie actually is, I think, a natural blonde. I think so. I don't think
- 1:08:09it's that exact shade, but I do think she's actually a natural blonde, which is
- 1:08:11quite rare. And here's the thing, I don't
- 1:08:15appreciate— I don't appreciate that being the bar. I don't appreciate Sophie
- 1:08:19Cunningham being the bar. I think she's fine. I don't think
- 1:08:23she's ugly. She's cute. She's done a lot of work. I think she's pretty.
- 1:08:26She's had a lot— she's had to throw a lot of filler into the lips.
- 1:08:30She's had to throw a lot of, like, you know,
- 1:08:32eyebrow lifting. But I don't begrudge anybody.
- 1:08:35I do when they're transphobes. Oh, that's a different— when they're doing
- 1:08:39gender affirming— oh no, no, no. That's the conversation you're having.
- 1:08:43Oh no. Yeah. Oh yeah. Oh, fuck you. No, that's a different conversation altogether.
- 1:08:46Yeah. I thought you were saying just in general, people doing
- 1:08:50things to make them feel better or how they look. No, I don't care about
- 1:08:52that. I'm on board with you getting all the fucking filler and anything that makes
- 1:08:55you feel good about yourself. Yeah. So because you're a transphobe,
- 1:08:58fuck you. Yeah. So you and your gender-affirming care that has
- 1:09:02made you, I would say on a, on a good day,
- 1:09:06I'm going to go, you're We're in LA, so the bar is high.
- 1:09:10Bar's pretty— so the— an LA 10 is one of the hottest people you've ever—
- 1:09:13like, you might not be able to look at them straight in the eye,
- 1:09:15right? It's a different conversation. So that, that's Kate Beckinsale. I'm gonna— not anymore.
- 1:09:20I didn't say today. Yeah, I'm saying the time I saw her in Ursula's on
- 1:09:24Wilshire Boulevard. We have a big problem with small body— with people who are too
- 1:09:27small. Like, in my, in my neck of the woods, when people are too short
- 1:09:31and too small— she's like 90 pounds. But I will tell you, there's only 2
- 1:09:34people I've ever seen in public. She was Where I'm like, what the fuck?
- 1:09:36That's not real. Her— Issa Rae,
- 1:09:39I'm telling you. Oh, why are you saying that like that? No, no, no,
- 1:09:43no. Like, she is so hot. No, no, she's so hot it hurts.
- 1:09:46But the problem is her on camera doesn't—
- 1:09:51that's how everybody is close. That's how everybody is. I was—
- 1:09:54was it— who was it that saw? I thought I looked at the sun.
- 1:09:58I think I had to turn away. I think it was Chris saw
- 1:10:02Kim Kardashian one time and he was like, oh, like, she's so small.
- 1:10:07Like, I don't think people understand how— I've seen Kim multiple times and
- 1:10:11there's nothing about Kim that even made me look twice. But you can't tell how,
- 1:10:14like, hot people are or how small they are, or like— I saw— you're so
- 1:10:18tiny. No, Issa Rae is ridiculous. I thought I was— I literally
- 1:10:22turned away. I'm like, I— it was like looking at this. No, that's a lot.
- 1:10:24I'm like, that's a problem. That's— I think I can't be here. But there's a
- 1:10:27lot of WNBA players that are that. And Sophie
- 1:10:31Cunningham is just like— I, I'm gonna go back
- 1:10:34to the LA scale. I'm gonna go 6.5. Wow. There's a lot
- 1:10:38of tall blonde women, um, in LA, and like, she just would
- 1:10:42never be the one that I was looking at. Like, she just— that's fair,
- 1:10:45you know? It's just like, oh yeah, would I ever be like, ew?
- 1:10:48Like, of course not. But like, is she in the same— if I— is she
- 1:10:52in the same bar as Ray Barrow? Yeah. Then guess who I'd And I— if,
- 1:10:56if, if this is there and Ray Burrell's over here, I'm— my,
- 1:10:59my back is turned and I'm looking at this direction, but not looking at
- 1:11:03Ray Burrell. I'm looking in this direction. The bigger issue is I gotta use my
- 1:11:06periphery. I can't be that creepy guy that's looking directly at her. I have
- 1:11:09to look— you can't be Colin Cowherd fucking being like, sex symbol? So you're a
- 1:11:13sex symbol now? By the way, great job on challenging her on anything,
- 1:11:17you fucking old-ass nothing now.
- 1:11:20What the fuck happened to fucking Colin Cowherd? No,
- 1:11:23that's what— that was the bigger part of this is, which is this, like,
- 1:11:27there's nothing— what are we doing anymore? I, like, there's— there—
- 1:11:31we have never sat down and had a conversation with, like, some 7th man off
- 1:11:35the bench and been like, you know you're the hottest guy in the league,
- 1:11:37right? Yeah, we did. What are we fucking— we did this with Rick Fox here
- 1:11:40in LA for years. He was, he was very attractive.
- 1:11:45Um, Rick Fox, he was good. One of the hottest.
- 1:11:49But he was so fucking hot. I firmly believe he
- 1:11:53was a Laker for that run. Because of how hot he was.
- 1:11:56So that's a perfect example of like the level of attractive you should be
- 1:12:00if like people can't not talk about it. Yeah, Sophie Cunningham is
- 1:12:04just a girl. Yeah, Rick Fox— if I had my choice between
- 1:12:08sleeping with Sophie Cunningham and Rick Fox, yeah, I'm sleeping with Rick Fox
- 1:12:1110 out of 10 times. Like, you need to be the kind of like attractive
- 1:12:15that's like distracting, to be like— have that be like a point
- 1:12:19of conversation in sports podcast situation.
- 1:12:23Like, you know what I mean? Like, by the way, I'm so glad I said
- 1:12:24Rick Fox and you immediately agreed. We all agree that Rick Fox was stupid attractive,
- 1:12:29right? I gotta bring this up with Fish at some point. I'm like, was it
- 1:12:31awful being in a room with that guy? My family, Rick Fox.
- 1:12:35Um, but dude, do you know Rick Fox? Uh, yeah,
- 1:12:39but like, do you remember how handsome he was? Uh, I was a kid,
- 1:12:43dude. Google it, it's fucking stupid. Prime Rick Fox was, um, it was— wasn't he
- 1:12:47married to— he was married to somebody famous. Yeah, he was married to somebody famous.
- 1:12:49Um, Vanessa Williams, maybe? That might be right. And then this
- 1:12:54was like when Vanessa Williams was like— Vanessa Williams, also one of the more distractingly
- 1:12:58beautiful people. Um, this was a time in life. This is what I'm talking about,
- 1:13:01like where I don't— I'm not so stupid that I can't understand that people are
- 1:13:04distractingly beautiful, that where you can't not talk about it. I'm not— yeah,
- 1:13:08but Sophie Cunningham's not— we're just not— come on. Like, I'm sorry,
- 1:13:11that's just not the case. Like, she's no Ray Burrell. Let's be real. Okay.
- 1:13:15I'm glad. I like how you weren't gonna say the name, but now you said
- 1:13:18it 90 times. I don't know what you're talking about.
- 1:13:22Maybe, maybe she'll be at the UCLA game.
- 1:13:25No, no, no, I would, I would have to leave the UCLA game.
- 1:13:30I'm like, no, Tyler, we gotta go. I can't be here. I cannot be here.
- 1:13:34I'm gonna keep looking over there and someone— security is gonna grab me at
- 1:13:38some point. I'm like, I swear he's not a creep. I swear to God,
- 1:13:41I'm just looking for field peripherals. Listen, yeah, you gotta play,
- 1:13:44you gotta learn. No, it works. Like, you're looking this way, like, and when they
- 1:13:47walk this way, you do one of those. Oh my God, that's so crazy that
- 1:13:50I was just looking this way. That's like wild how I was just looking that
- 1:13:53way for no reason. Anyways, I'm looking forward to my restraining order. Continue. Um,
- 1:13:56so yeah, anyways, uh, we're, we're keeping an eye on— we're on coward watch,
- 1:14:00I think, at this point, which is like, he's— he has taken a turn into
- 1:14:04a space that makes me a little bit uncomfortable. Yeah, it's weird. And I
- 1:14:08said to somebody in a group chat earlier today where I was like, I,
- 1:14:13I know Colin, like I, I worked with him long enough to understand that like
- 1:14:17this is just not who he was. And you know, the, the old creepy
- 1:14:21white guy comes for all, all these dudes. I guess Chicago changed
- 1:14:25him. I guess I, I think what changed him is just like really understanding
- 1:14:30that there's a specific thing you have to do to stay relevant in this media
- 1:14:33market at at his age and stage, and he's decided that this is what it
- 1:14:37is. I, I'm disappointed. I thought— and I am rarely disappointed.
- 1:14:41I am very— I need people to understand, I'm very rarely like,
- 1:14:45wow, I expect like a little bit better. I didn't expect Colin Cowherd to be
- 1:14:49this like woke, like elder Gen X bro, but like I expected
- 1:14:54more than like, you're a sex symbol, now you're creepy old
- 1:14:57white guy. Even having Sophie Cunningham on his podcast, like nobody's having Sophie
- 1:15:01Cunningham on their podcast. This is not like a regular thing. Here's the thing,
- 1:15:04I would have been okay with it if he at least had the balls to
- 1:15:08challenge her on the actual important topic and then have that conversation.
- 1:15:12But he's not that guy. Uh, the thing, you know what I liked
- 1:15:16about Colin forever? He was kind of like nice and bubbly, but he was also
- 1:15:19fairly intelligent. And I don't— that's not what we're
- 1:15:23leading with anymore. And now we have this and
- 1:15:27that and Listen, that's why you got the regulars. We're,
- 1:15:31we're fucking— we're so much smarter than everybody else. Problem is we're also drinking a
- 1:15:35lot though. I mean, you know, moderately. I mean, moderately,
- 1:15:39moderately, moderately. Uh, we, we keep it classy,
- 1:15:43I think. I think so. Unless you bring up Ray Barone. Mocha, do you think
- 1:15:47we keep it classy? Yeah, actually, that's a fair point. Mocha, what do you think?
- 1:15:49Of course you guys keep it classy. Thank you.
- 1:15:53I feel like maybe it felt a little bit Pandora.
- 1:15:58Of course you guys keep it— no, Mocha actually is kind
- 1:16:02of— you're never sloppy and yelling and— oh, I've been—
- 1:16:05wait, wait, wait, wait, I've been sloppy and yelling on this show many times.
- 1:16:08I'm not going to sit here and— never, never. I was sloppy and yelling fucking
- 1:16:12on Tuesday. Utmost professionalism
- 1:16:16from, uh, fucking gaslighting
- 1:16:19shit. Well, but I will say Mocha is he's on— he's been like
- 1:16:23on a, on a marijuana sort of sobriety journey. I know, he hasn't
- 1:16:28smoked marijuana in a while. So how's it going for you?
- 1:16:31Um, it's better than smoking every
- 1:16:36day. Really? Yes. Oh, fuck. But that's it. I'm not gonna do it. That is
- 1:16:39it. I don't know, I can't really tell. It is a personal— no, it is
- 1:16:42though, because you can't tell. I hope so. My mom— my sister and her husband
- 1:16:45go through this all the time where they're like, I think I need to take
- 1:16:47a break and I need to like like whatever, and they'll take breaks and then
- 1:16:49they'll interrupt it or whatever. The, the— it— which sister? The,
- 1:16:53the youngest one. Youngest one's married? My youngest sister, yeah.
- 1:16:57Dude, your youngest sister I think has some cool-ass style, by the
- 1:17:01way. Oh, she's so cool. She is so fucking cool. No, she's actually become like
- 1:17:05one of my favorite follows on Instagram. She's just got like this— she's got a
- 1:17:08cool vibe. Yeah, yeah. She looks like you but like is also so
- 1:17:11different than you. She looks like both of us a little bit. It's like if
- 1:17:15we morphed into one She looks like our child. She does.
- 1:17:20She's like covered in tattoos. Yeah. And I'm like, this is a cropped haircut.
- 1:17:24She's so different. Like, but she's like, I— she's— your sister's got like one of
- 1:17:27the cooler vibes I've ever seen. Yeah, it's very cool. We love— and that's Angel.
- 1:17:31Yeah. Uh, she's a professional ballroom dancer. Of course she is. And a barber.
- 1:17:36Of course she is. She's the coolest person alive. That's so fucking cool.
- 1:17:39Yeah. So, uh, way cooler than Colin Cowherd. We can say that.
- 1:17:42Um, do you have anything that you need to get off your chest pop culture-wise?
- 1:17:45Before we, uh, head out. The, the Emmys are coming
- 1:17:48up. I've been catching up on the show. Have you heard of the show Task?
- 1:17:52No, what's Task? It's Ruffalo, who I will support. Oh,
- 1:17:55I do know about this show, but I haven't watched it yet. I heard it's
- 1:17:58really good though. It's Ruffalo, Tom Pelphrey. Big Mark Ruffalo fan.
- 1:18:02Did you watch it? By the way, just real quick, I'm Jewish. Big Mark Ruffalo
- 1:18:05fan. Yeah, right, exactly.
- 1:18:09Um, Tom Pelphrey from— I originally saw him in Ozark,
- 1:18:12Yeah, um, good actor. He's amazing. Yeah,
- 1:18:15really good. Uh, we've got a bunch of— we got a bunch of people in
- 1:18:18this, but it's, um, it's like a dark drama type situation. I'm watching it
- 1:18:22purely to support Mark Ruffalo. Always. He is nominated.
- 1:18:26Always. I feel like it's getting real weird out there for Mark. Hope he wins
- 1:18:29so he can give a speech. Yeah, which they won't let him do. There's no
- 1:18:31way it happens. Um, make it an hour. Yeah.
- 1:18:34And but like, I'm still whatever. So I'm like, that was my big thing was
- 1:18:38first of all, he's always in great stuff and I love these guys and also
- 1:18:41whatever. So I'm, I'm, I recommend that. It's been like, it's gritty,
- 1:18:44it's interesting. This, this is great acting. Oh, you know who else is in it?
- 1:18:48Um, Mocha, you know who's in it is, um, so they're doing this like Delco
- 1:18:51like accent that's like that area, that like Philly Delco
- 1:18:55area accent. And Criston Cole from
- 1:18:59House of the Dragon plays this like Philly FBI agent.
- 1:19:04Yeah, Christian Cole, you know who I'm talking about? Yeah, of course. And he's
- 1:19:08doing it like, he's like really doing it. He's doing the accent like he's a
- 1:19:11totally different type of character. And I found
- 1:19:15it, found it fascinating because like he was so embedded in my brain as
- 1:19:18Christian Cole. So underrated. Yeah. No, uh,
- 1:19:22by the way, you need to shine more. Was you telling me to watch Widow's
- 1:19:25Peak as well? Yes. So I have to watch that.
- 1:19:29Uh, have you watched that, Boca? Because I heard it's the shit.
- 1:19:34I really have. It's really good. I'm a big old horror fan too. You both
- 1:19:37would like it. Yeah, I know, dude. I know. I fucking— yeah, you really both
- 1:19:40would. It's called Widow's Bay. It's like a comedy horror
- 1:19:45thing. It's like, it's a comedy, uh, with a little bit of elements
- 1:19:49of horror and like genre to it, but it's, um, it's also
- 1:19:53like shot as if it's like a prestige coastal HBO show.
- 1:19:56Yeah, like it's, it's like basically like How I've heard it described to
- 1:20:00me in like the best way, it's like what American Horror Story wishes
- 1:20:05it was type of thing. Like it's a parody and
- 1:20:09a horror and a comedy. Really, really good. Like I can't
- 1:20:13wait to watch it. Yeah, it's really, really good. Yeah. Um, where can I watch
- 1:20:17it? It is on Apple TV. Apple TV. Apple Plus. Oh shit,
- 1:20:21really? That's one you don't have? Pirate it. You don't have it? I'm gonna pirate
- 1:20:23it. I don't know. He's not— he's not— you're in my family. No, I don't.
- 1:20:27You're in my family. He's a Gen Z He knows how to pirate everything.
- 1:20:29Fair. Never mind. Yeah, you're not my family. You got this. Yeah, he's— he— they
- 1:20:33all— they don't need these. What is the gen— what is the Gen Z
- 1:20:37fucking LimeWire? What is it? Um, wait, there's like—
- 1:20:42no, you can't. Don't. Yeah. Oh yeah, no, no, don't, don't let it put you
- 1:20:45guys on game. Yeah, you need to— you need to gatekeep that. Yeah, whatever your
- 1:20:48LimeWire is, good job. Yeah, gatekeep that. We couldn't steal shows,
- 1:20:51we just stole— you know why I don't use streaming
- 1:20:55services because every time I log on it's like,
- 1:20:58are you really the owner of this account? I'm like,
- 1:21:02okay, fuck you. Yeah, dude, I have it all the time because
- 1:21:06my brother uses some of my shit. Exactly. Florida. And like, I have to like
- 1:21:10constantly redo my shit. It's a— it's like,
- 1:21:13I would pay if you guys make it so annoying. Yeah, no, exactly.
- 1:21:16I've gone through so many times that I've reached the point where I'm You know
- 1:21:20what, I'm not gonna call my dad to ask for the password. Thank God.
- 1:21:23Tax write-off, dude. It's— yeah, I don't know.
- 1:21:27Yeah, so it's like you leave me no choice. I'm taking—
- 1:21:31I'm taking what I support. I support any sort of, uh,
- 1:21:35getting around streaming platforms anyway, so I'm on board anyway. So it's made
- 1:21:39it easier. Yeah, I don't pay for this. But just
- 1:21:43for— just for the record, I don't have anything on Pop Culture Corner that I
- 1:21:45need to get off my chest. I do have something I want to get off
- 1:21:47my chest, but I don't want to do it today. I want to do it
- 1:21:50on Tuesday when we're back live and streaming. And I, and I have some questions
- 1:21:53for you. I want to know how everybody in this room deals with
- 1:21:59exes. Okay. When, when,
- 1:22:02when you don't trust what's taking place. Okay. Oh, I love this. And I
- 1:22:06don't want to do it today because we're not live and I want the chat.
- 1:22:08No, we need the chat involved. We need the— we can't be doing juicy drama
- 1:22:12stuff when there's no juicy drama. I'm just interested in how people handle exes,
- 1:22:17and I'm not— it's not specific. I'm just interested in like— I have like
- 1:22:21stories that I want— I, I just have so many questions. Okay, all right,
- 1:22:24let's do that. Uh, Mocha, if we forget, we're all talking about our exes on
- 1:22:27Tuesday. Tuesday, I need you to get all, all your fucking ducks
- 1:22:31in a row, and I want to know what you got. Yeah, yeah, you know,
- 1:22:35because, you know, is your ex— by the way, When you work with somebody,
- 1:22:38does any of your exes like, uh, block like,
- 1:22:42say, your co-host on, on every social platform?
- 1:22:47Not a problem I've encountered. Wasn't a problem for me either. It's not in
- 1:22:51my field. But I know that definitely didn't happen to us. I just have questions.
- 1:22:53That definitely didn't happen to us. I— because weirdly, in the last
- 1:22:57week, some weird shit has taken place, and I— and it
- 1:23:02makes me think I'm gonna get like served papers soon for something.
- 1:23:05Listen, I, I, I can't say anything other than
- 1:23:10I was a little surprised myself. That's neither here nor there.
- 1:23:13Such embarrassing behavior. We'll get into it on Tuesday. It's a good sign for you
- 1:23:17that you're doing something right. Yeah, maybe. Oh well, they're going out
- 1:23:21of their way to keep tabs on you. Yes, in some sort of way.
- 1:23:25I just have questions and I'm looking very forward to Tuesday's show. Hey, I would
- 1:23:28love to spill some tea on Tuesday's show. In the meantime, Cody, what do you
- 1:23:31got for us? Uh, listen, Listen, like, share, and subscribe. Like, share, and subscribe.
- 1:23:35Like, share, and subscribe. YouTube, we're really sorry that you didn't get to be a
- 1:23:38part of this. This was fucked up today. Really fucked up. If we don't get
- 1:23:41to talk about football on Tuesday live, I will end it all. Tanya,
- 1:23:45question for you: do we want to do our first live Monday, or we want
- 1:23:49to hold off on that? Because we've got to get to 1,000 followers. We got
- 1:23:52to get to 1,000 subscriber base. This all comes down to that. We need to
- 1:23:56hit 1,000 followers and people can subscribe, throw us a little money so
- 1:23:59that we can put on a show for them in a way that like that
- 1:24:02really benefits everybody. Um, until then, like, it's too much work for
- 1:24:05us, quite honestly. Like, we're trying our best to put out free content that for
- 1:24:10everybody, but we do— we can only do so much. So we're gonna, um,
- 1:24:12I'll— I will— if you subscribe to my Substack, I'll be doing a live chat
- 1:24:16on Mondays before Monday Night Football. Subscribe to that to just,
- 1:24:20uh, chat about the— that week's games on Sunday. So I'll be doing that this
- 1:24:23Monday if you want join me for that. Um, Cody, you're of course welcome to
- 1:24:27join. Thank you. I am already— I am a subscriber. Yeah, that's good.
- 1:24:30So, uh, so we'll be chatting about that, and then,
- 1:24:33you know, hopefully you'll be seeing Cody and I in a couple of weeks starting
- 1:24:37to do some live watches. Yeah, Monday Night Football. Not to mention, uh, like,
- 1:24:40uh, in a week— literally in 8 days, we're gonna be live
- 1:24:44at the Rose Bowl. We'll do some shit with that. We're gonna have some fun
- 1:24:46there. The regulars at the Rose Bowl for the UCLA game. And, uh,
- 1:24:50Honestly, Tuesday we will be back live. Uh, I apologize that we were
- 1:24:54not live tonight. That is a system error and we will,
- 1:24:57we will be fixed. I think it— I'm personally blaming it on Mocha.
- 1:25:00I have a feeling it was Mocha's fault because I had everything set up.
- 1:25:02I had everything set up till he fucking showed up. It was— I just assume
- 1:25:06he, he sat on something, hit a button, and we're gonna blame him. He's a
- 1:25:10savage. It was my aura. I walked into the room and
- 1:25:14everything went fucking haywire. Well, seriously, like, share, and subscribe.
- 1:25:17We appreciate you guys hanging with us and listen, We got— the future's
- 1:25:21bright. The future's bright. We are. We're here.
- 1:25:24We've finished all of our drinks. It's time for us to go eat food somehow.
- 1:25:28And before we go, we need to always— we
- 1:25:32didn't get to Curt Schilling tonight. But here's the thing. I want to make that
- 1:25:34abundantly clear. Oh, Curt, I know you watch
- 1:25:38this show. Like, you know, because you're about to talk about how the bloody sock
- 1:25:42was real. No, it was not real. And also, but whether or not
- 1:25:46it was real or not, I have met Curt Schilling, and fuck Curt
- 1:25:49Schilling. Oh, absolutely fuck Curt Schilling.
