- 0:40Speaker 4: that's I am abnormally tied to n He's done absolutely nothing,
- 0:45Speaker 4: But I like also to what he would do it like,
- 0:47Speaker 4: I don't want a defensive coach again.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Again.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Sorry, I'll ask you this question because you've killed my
- 0:55Speaker 4: buzz on Tuesday about mobs or are you prepared to
- 0:57Speaker 4: kill my buzz on Douglas too?
- 0:59Speaker 1: No? Oh no, but I have not heard see he
- 1:01Speaker 1: includes the media in these people.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Fred, all due respect, I really don't care what Joe
- 1:07Speaker 4: the Plumber has for a pit I look at the
- 1:08Speaker 4: night or some random I want to know what, well,
- 1:11Speaker 4: you don't know the zeitgeist from listening to ninety eight five, you.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Get a cross section. He's so obsessed with the media.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Why are I obsessed with it? I'm talking about having
- 1:20Speaker 4: a prediction for a team I know, but like you
- 1:22Speaker 4: care so much what they say, I don't care about it.
- 1:25Speaker 1: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:27Speaker 5: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals Shy at Toyota
- 1:31Speaker 5: dot com.
- 1:33Speaker 1: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:37Speaker 1: at Jillette Stadium, but more importantly, it's week one game week.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It's finally here. We are ready to go Philadelphia Eagles
- 1:48Speaker 1: for twenty five on Sunday. And this also, of course,
- 1:52Speaker 1: marks the first of our in season programs. Were now
- 1:55Speaker 1: three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday noon unless we
- 2:01Speaker 1: change the time. Uh. And we are all video all
- 2:04Speaker 1: the time. So I succumbed to the demand of the
- 2:09Speaker 1: fans and we are now video. We're on YouTube, We're
- 2:13Speaker 1: on Patriots dot com. Uh. So you know you can
- 2:17Speaker 1: now see us in all our glory as we wolf
- 2:20Speaker 1: down food in the middle of the show and all
- 2:22Speaker 1: that stuff. But here we are here.
- 2:24Speaker 6: We are Sorry, Hey everybody, sorry, what are you gonna do?
- 2:28Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Got my patriots. Filtered, sheltered, unfiltered, unfiltered.
- 2:33Speaker 7: Are we gonna be filtered more?
- 2:36Speaker 4: It's regular season. Time time to time to put a
- 2:39Speaker 4: filter the video.
- 2:40Speaker 7: We've got to put some filters over it for our faces.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Sometimes you can get away with stuff in the off season.
- 2:44Speaker 4: People aren't really paying attention.
- 2:45Speaker 1: That's it's it's to marrot, it's Alex, it's Paul myself.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Matt's in the booth, and Alex decided, you know now
- 2:53Speaker 1: that we're on video, absolutely absolutely dress.
- 3:00Speaker 8: I have no makeup on for the record.
- 3:02Speaker 1: For the I don't know where you've been for the
- 3:04Speaker 1: last two months.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Okay, I know she still works.
- 3:07Speaker 8: There's been one.
- 3:08Speaker 9: Thanks for coming back because I missed Paul.
- 3:15Speaker 8: Making fun of me. I thought I was a favorite.
- 3:17Speaker 9: Yeah, but we hang out every day. We all know
- 3:20Speaker 9: every day upstairs. Paul has been banished to the basement.
- 3:24Speaker 9: So also just there's too many cooks in the kitchen.
- 3:28Speaker 8: Sometimes have beef bring.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Well, no but I but bring your own ingredients, you know,
- 3:37Speaker 1: just because there's.
- 3:38Speaker 9: A lot in this year, realistically speaking, the best chef here,
- 3:43Speaker 9: but no, I know pigs are coming up.
- 3:46Speaker 4: It's about on Thursday.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Two picks.
- 3:51Speaker 8: I have no not tomorrow, because I gotta get new
- 3:53Speaker 8: breaks Thursday.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Thursday.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I've got two days to get a feeling for the league.
- 3:57Speaker 7: Yeah, yes, you don't got no feeling.
- 4:00Speaker 4: You ain't got no feeling.
- 4:01Speaker 7: About Kansas City, Detroit, any feeling on that one yet.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Well, I'm certain teams you know that are But I mean, really,
- 4:08Speaker 1: if anyone thinks they know how every team is going
- 4:10Speaker 1: to do this year, they they're crazy.
- 4:13Speaker 4: In any year, if anybody thinks they know what every
- 4:15Speaker 4: team is going to take, I think, except for the.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of uncertainty this year.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Yes, you know, I think so, but I mean no
- 4:25Speaker 4: more so than any of the year.
- 4:26Speaker 6: But some certainly, I think the Kansas City maybe here Philly, Philly.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I think we're certain that Kansas City will be good Philly.
- 4:34Speaker 1: But the thing about Philly is you lost the super Bowl.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And there's a history of teams that you know, lost
- 4:41Speaker 1: the super Bowl of having a down year, you know,
- 4:43Speaker 1: but they're loaded.
- 4:45Speaker 4: There's no doubt the team that lost the super Bowl do.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Kansas City didn't won the super.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Bowl, and the last team that lost the super Bowl do.
- 4:53Speaker 3: I will say this this time last year, I did
- 4:56Speaker 3: not predict the Eagles to be in the super Bowl
- 4:58Speaker 3: super Bowl, like I'm little bit yeah, I'm a little
- 5:01Speaker 3: bit shocked, right, especially when they you know, got off
- 5:03Speaker 3: to eight and oh, wasn't expecting.
- 5:04Speaker 1: So the question is what team do we not expect
- 5:07Speaker 1: to do really well this year will do well?
- 5:09Speaker 4: And that's the hard part. Like every year there's at
- 5:12Speaker 4: least three or four teams that make the playoffs one
- 5:14Speaker 4: year and don't make it the next, right, and identifying
- 5:16Speaker 4: those teams, that's that's the tough.
- 5:19Speaker 6: Like my feel for the league right now is that
- 5:21Speaker 6: people are starting it's starting to turn on Kansas City.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Everyone was like they're great, but now people are starting
- 5:25Speaker 6: to be like they're too good. They've been too good
- 5:26Speaker 6: for too long.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Now we're starting to do on the radio yesterday, let's
- 5:29Speaker 4: see what happens with Mahomes when Travis Kelsey A right,
- 5:31Speaker 4: I heard when old man Kelsey is not there anymore?
- 5:34Speaker 1: Wow?
- 5:34Speaker 4: Now, Patrick Mahomes is a product of Travis kelcey. But
- 5:37Speaker 4: got it.
- 5:38Speaker 1: But that narrative is what I'm hearing about. The Bills.
- 5:40Speaker 1: The Bills, they're the ones that everyone going to drop off.
- 5:44Speaker 6: But I think I think the Eagles are kind of
- 5:46Speaker 6: the sweethearts right now, though they're you know, as much
- 5:47Speaker 6: as Kansas City has won, and you know, deservedly so
- 5:50Speaker 6: I think, you know, it's like what happened on the Patriots.
- 5:52Speaker 6: You start to win too much and people are like, Okay,
- 5:54Speaker 6: what's next.
- 5:54Speaker 7: I'm kind of sick of this. I want someone else.
- 5:56Speaker 6: Like, I'm not as enthusiastic about a new team. I
- 5:58Speaker 6: wanted to be Philadelphia. I think they're the they're the
- 6:01Speaker 6: darling right now. I think, which is you know, puts
- 6:03Speaker 6: a whole nother thing on this game too.
- 6:04Speaker 8: I agree.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I feel like they were a team that was slept on,
- 6:08Speaker 3: especially in the off season last year. They're like, oh,
- 6:10Speaker 3: you know, Hurts can't do it, Like he doesn't have
- 6:12Speaker 3: the talent around him, he doesn't have.
- 6:14Speaker 8: The ability to throw the ball.
- 6:15Speaker 3: He's just all legs like and I think that he
- 6:17Speaker 3: was able to prove that he can do both, kind
- 6:19Speaker 3: of like Lamar Jackson in a sense of like, oh,
- 6:21Speaker 3: he won't make it an NFL, but.
- 6:22Speaker 7: Right, did we ever see that coming? We're in Philly
- 6:24Speaker 7: a couple of stars ago.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Like I remember that, Like his development as a passer
- 6:28Speaker 4: from year one to year three was unbelievable.
- 6:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, need did have a few.
- 6:32Speaker 6: I remember, you know, standing in that corner in between
- 6:34Speaker 6: Joe Flacco's bathroom breaks a couple nice. Uh, you know,
- 6:37Speaker 6: I remember Goddard like I remember the tight ends looking good.
- 6:40Speaker 6: But you know, I mean they obviously didn't have a
- 6:41Speaker 6: j Brown at that point either or or DeVante Smith.
- 6:44Speaker 6: I think, right that was going into twenty twenty one.
- 6:46Speaker 6: I guess maybe they just had had him. But yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 6: they're they're stacked team, so it's gonna be uh, it's
- 6:52Speaker 6: gonna be.
- 6:53Speaker 7: A dan dy Yeah, this weekend.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I think, you know, one of the wild cards should
- 6:57Speaker 1: be this year is Cleveland, Like, how is Sean Watson
- 7:00Speaker 1: going to do? You know?
- 7:03Speaker 7: Disappointing though, right, I mean everybody felt disappointed in him last.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Year, but now but he give him that year, like
- 7:09Speaker 1: this is year he should If he's going to be
- 7:11Speaker 1: who he was, it should be this year, right, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 1: But we'll see two years.
- 7:19Speaker 8: Have some good players on that team. I think they'll
- 7:21Speaker 8: surprise a lot of people.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So, you know, but you know, your Steelers, what are
- 7:26Speaker 1: they going to do this year? You know, I think
- 7:28Speaker 1: they did, Yeah, I think they did better than people
- 7:33Speaker 1: thought they were last year.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I think I think Kenny Pickett watching him in the preseason.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Obviously it's tough to say, but it looks like he
- 7:41Speaker 3: got his like rookie, you know, young player jitters out. Obviously,
- 7:45Speaker 3: he's still going to have a lot of welcome to
- 7:46Speaker 3: the NFL moments still this year. He's still very new,
- 7:49Speaker 3: but I think that they have a little.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Thing going there. Yeah, so I can't wait. I'm excited
- 7:55Speaker 1: Thursday night, We've got the game. Who is it the
- 7:59Speaker 1: Bills and who isn't it?
- 8:01Speaker 8: Lions?
- 8:01Speaker 7: Lions? Casey was the one.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Top of this is the best part about having video.
- 8:10Speaker 4: You can see the worst part. That's why I'm going
- 8:11Speaker 4: to get fired.
- 8:12Speaker 8: You can see the palms up moment.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I love when Paul does.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Casey in the in the Lions and you know, are
- 8:19Speaker 1: the Lions for fun?
- 8:20Speaker 3: I think they could be a sleeper team if their
- 8:22Speaker 3: players can stop gambling.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Last year, stop don't bet on it.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Yeah, but I see what you did that.
- 8:33Speaker 1: So let's get back to the Patriots current state of
- 8:37Speaker 1: the team. Uh, yesterday they had practice, I'm sorry yesterday,
- 8:42Speaker 1: yesterday they had practice in pretty good attendance. Riley Reef
- 8:46Speaker 1: though now is our he's on I R.
- 8:50Speaker 3: You got a new guy in red.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Yeah, the quarterback, Matt Carral. But he is on, Oh
- 8:58Speaker 1: he is. No, he's on the actor roster. He has
- 9:00Speaker 1: to be for at least three weeks. And that prompted
- 9:03Speaker 1: a whole flurry of rule clarification yesterday and how to
- 9:07Speaker 1: use the emergency quarterback? And is this true that the
- 9:13Speaker 1: rule was just the wording was just changed or is
- 9:16Speaker 1: it just people are noticing it. I think that they awards.
- 9:19Speaker 4: I think they clarified it heading into the season because
- 9:22Speaker 4: it's a new rule.
- 9:23Speaker 1: The ability to use emergency quarterback, right.
- 9:26Speaker 4: And the only I think the only thing that as
- 9:28Speaker 4: it pertains to the Patriots that I can tell is
- 9:30Speaker 4: you have to have all three of them on the roster,
- 9:33Speaker 4: the active fifty three man roster to use one as
- 9:35Speaker 4: a emergency. It doesn't but take me if I'm wrong, Mike.
- 9:39Speaker 4: I know you probably digested this a little bit better
- 9:41Speaker 4: than I did. But it doesn't prevent them from having
- 9:44Speaker 4: Bailey's appy elevated to the roster on game day and
- 9:49Speaker 4: being the backup and having Matt Corral as one of
- 9:51Speaker 4: the inactives.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Right, that's right.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Which is what I think that they will do at
- 9:56Speaker 4: least week one, probably all three weeks.
- 9:58Speaker 1: And I think what people I saw the back and
- 10:01Speaker 1: forth on the various platforms, what people were forgetting is
- 10:04Speaker 1: the difference between the active fifty three and game day active. Right,
- 10:08Speaker 1: it's a different number. You can be on the all
- 10:11Speaker 1: fifty three but not be active on game day.
- 10:13Speaker 7: Yep, you know, I think, what is it forty five?
- 10:16Speaker 7: So there's usually eight guys.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's forty six six. They made that change,
- 10:20Speaker 4: But yeah, I think that's I think you're right, Fred.
- 10:22Speaker 4: I think a lot of people is like, well, so
- 10:24Speaker 4: this means you can't, know, in order to have an
- 10:27Speaker 4: in like an emergency quarterback, all three of them have
- 10:31Speaker 4: to be regular members of the fifty three. You can't
- 10:33Speaker 4: be a practice squad elevation right on the week of
- 10:36Speaker 4: the game.
- 10:37Speaker 7: It's really just a game day thing.
- 10:38Speaker 6: I mean, it's I think people might have had visions
- 10:41Speaker 6: of you know, all the Shenanigans being able to promote
- 10:43Speaker 6: guys and then use them as the quarterback, but I
- 10:45Speaker 6: mean it's you got to have them on the roster,
- 10:47Speaker 6: so like it helps your game day, but it's not
- 10:49Speaker 6: really like.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Basically it's it's burger. Yeah, the rules not there for
- 10:55Speaker 1: someone to exploit. Now, it's there to like keep the
- 10:58Speaker 1: quality of the game up the event you lose two quarters.
- 11:01Speaker 4: It's going to the situation where San Francisco was during
- 11:05Speaker 4: the NFC championship, Right, That's the only I mean, Otherwise
- 11:08Speaker 4: it's a huge nothing burger. There's no like edge to
- 11:12Speaker 4: be gained by having it. I think to Mike's point,
- 11:14Speaker 4: I think people envisioned like Malie Cunningham is going to
- 11:17Speaker 4: be the emergency quarterback and you can use him, And no,
- 11:20Speaker 4: you can't do that. No, if you want to have
- 11:22Speaker 4: him active in the game, he needs to be active
- 11:24Speaker 4: in the game. If you want to have him as
- 11:25Speaker 4: a wildcat or you know, doing some read option type
- 11:29Speaker 4: stuff or acting as a wide receiver, he needs to
- 11:31Speaker 4: be one of the guys that's active on game day.
- 11:33Speaker 4: You can't just like exploit a loophole and say, well,
- 11:36Speaker 4: he has quarterback qualities, so I can use him as
- 11:39Speaker 4: my emergency quarterback. Then he can't play.
- 11:41Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, do you think the Patriots maneuvering was
- 11:44Speaker 6: an impetus for them to say, maybe not necessarily directed
- 11:47Speaker 6: at the Patriots, but saying there might be a loophole.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Well, that's the conspiracy theory is Patriots are gearing up
- 11:53Speaker 1: to do something.
- 11:53Speaker 4: What is loophole?
- 11:55Speaker 8: Well, that's how it was reported with this.
- 11:57Speaker 4: No, No, I'm well aware of how it's because Fred
- 12:00Speaker 4: will tell you everything is it's us against the world
- 12:03Speaker 4: and everything that's right. But what is to be gained
- 12:05Speaker 4: by the pay If the Patriots wanted to have Bailey
- 12:08Speaker 4: Zappy be the backup quarterback and Matt Carrall be the
- 12:12Speaker 4: third quarterback, what's the difference then the way it's going
- 12:16Speaker 4: to be with him being inactive? Yeah, the only difference
- 12:19Speaker 4: is now Corral wouldn't be available if both Jones and
- 12:24Speaker 4: Zappi got hurt.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think's the only difference. I think
- 12:28Speaker 1: it was the whole elevation from the practice squad thing.
- 12:31Speaker 1: That was the loophole that people thought the Patriots were going.
- 12:35Speaker 6: To, Right, they'll just they'll just promote their backup quarterback
- 12:38Speaker 6: every week is to be just the backup.
- 12:39Speaker 4: But then but there's nothing, there's no advantage to be
- 12:42Speaker 4: gained there. You don't get any advantage from that, right,
- 12:44Speaker 4: Like I'm I'm very this is going to shock you. Fred,
- 12:47Speaker 4: I'm very defensive of the Patriots and Billier. I don't
- 12:50Speaker 4: think there's any advantage that Bill's trying to get with that, But.
- 12:53Speaker 1: It is interesting that, you know, the week of the game,
- 12:57Speaker 1: they decided to emphasize the rule, like why, Yeah, I
- 13:01Speaker 1: don't think they're of all the rules.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I just think it was something new and they put
- 13:06Speaker 4: some clarification. I think they did add some wording, and
- 13:08Speaker 4: I think they did well add some clarifications, But I
- 13:11Speaker 4: don't think it was to like prevent some team from
- 13:15Speaker 4: getting an advantage.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I'll bet you some team you know, said the Patriots
- 13:19Speaker 1: are going to try something, and then the league did that.
- 13:22Speaker 4: So that that's an interesting one then, because like I said,
- 13:25Speaker 4: I didn't I didn't really swallow the rule. I didn't
- 13:28Speaker 4: go over every word of the rules. So I'd be
- 13:31Speaker 4: curious to see what people think they could have done
- 13:35Speaker 4: that they no longer can that would have been to
- 13:37Speaker 4: the Patriots advantage.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Okay, because.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Maybe I'm missing it. I don't really see what the
- 13:43Speaker 4: difference is.
- 13:44Speaker 9: Every move Bill makes will always just be like overanalyzed,
- 13:47Speaker 9: in questioned.
- 13:47Speaker 4: But he didn't make any moves. Well, that's my point
- 13:51Speaker 4: to move to them both and.
- 13:53Speaker 8: Then resign them to the practice squad people were really.
- 13:56Speaker 4: The same thing last year with Brian Hoyer.
- 13:59Speaker 1: No, but we didn't go into the season. We didn't
- 14:01Speaker 1: we didn't have one quarterback on the roster for any
- 14:04Speaker 1: period of time.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Yes, you did.
- 14:05Speaker 1: When last year when not at cuts.
- 14:09Speaker 3: On the fifty three man, I think he's saying like
- 14:11Speaker 3: we still had zappi Ann Jones versus just Mac always.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Was it in a different years that I'm back? Was
- 14:20Speaker 4: it two years ago?
- 14:21Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 14:21Speaker 4: It's it's it's maybe a different whole.
- 14:24Speaker 6: Past week of craziness of guys are on, guys are off.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I don't remember at Cutts having one quarterback.
- 14:29Speaker 4: I'm just saying like he didn't he cut Bailey Zappy
- 14:32Speaker 4: because he's not sure about him, not because he was
- 14:35Speaker 4: trying to get into advantage. That's all. I'm like, I'm
- 14:37Speaker 4: trying to defend Bill here, I really know, and I'm
- 14:39Speaker 4: in an odd spot.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I agree with you and it, But from the outside
- 14:44Speaker 1: people what are they doing on there's one quarterback.
- 14:47Speaker 4: And he's looking for an upgrade, that's what he's doing.
- 14:50Speaker 4: But and he found it in Matt Correll.
- 14:51Speaker 1: But we feel that way. But people that hate the
- 14:53Speaker 1: Patriots don't feel that way up, he's up to something.
- 14:56Speaker 1: He's gonna do something.
- 14:57Speaker 8: Search for the gray area, no matter how.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Well I'd be, like I said, I'd be curious to
- 15:02Speaker 4: hear some scenarios of people that I would put a
- 15:05Speaker 4: tin foil hat on and think that they actually, let's
- 15:07Speaker 4: hear it prevented him from doing something. You know me,
- 15:10Speaker 4: I love those conspiracy theories absolutely, and plus Alex will
- 15:14Speaker 4: be here to shoot him all down. I'll tell you
- 15:15Speaker 4: about clean eating and.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Get the good news from yesterday's practice was seeing DeVante
- 15:22Speaker 3: Parker return to practice after not seeing him for two days,
- 15:25Speaker 3: a portion that we were.
- 15:26Speaker 6: Able to see what did he look like because I
- 15:27Speaker 6: saw some people say he looked tall, limited catches a
- 15:30Speaker 6: lot of contested balls. Yeah, I'm curious how that plays
- 15:34Speaker 6: out though, if if he's able to go or you
- 15:36Speaker 6: know if.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Yeah, because were you getting a little worried about wide receiver, Mike,
- 15:41Speaker 4: I mean, I just I.
- 15:42Speaker 6: Think that there's certainly a role for DeVante Parker, and
- 15:44Speaker 6: I just think it gets interesting without him.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Well, I just felt like, especially because we saw so
- 15:49Speaker 3: much of him.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Well, Jalen Rager getting signed to the practice squad and
- 15:52Speaker 4: now another guy whose name escapes me, Pharaoh.
- 15:57Speaker 7: He just.
- 16:00Speaker 4: That's why I bring you adding a couple of wide
- 16:04Speaker 4: receivers to the practice squad at this juncture. Like, honestly,
- 16:08Speaker 4: I'm just worried about it. Maybe they felt like they
- 16:11Speaker 4: weren't going to you know, Juju Smith Schuster really hasn't
- 16:13Speaker 4: been overly active throughout so now I was wondering if
- 16:16Speaker 4: they felt like they needed somebody.
- 16:17Speaker 3: So I'm wondering. That's a good point, Paul, because it's like,
- 16:20Speaker 3: you know, you see the reports about Juju's knee about reportedly,
- 16:24Speaker 3: you know, something can happen to it at any moment.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Then you obviously to Mark back, then he comes back,
- 16:28Speaker 3: then to Mario Douglas. You know, he was on the
- 16:30Speaker 3: upper fields for a little bit, and then we saw
- 16:32Speaker 3: DeVante Parker disappear for two days. So it's like, I
- 16:34Speaker 3: wonder if they're getting some insurance.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:37Speaker 6: My just feeling is that we got to keep beating
- 16:39Speaker 6: the bushes because we don't have guys that we feel
- 16:43Speaker 6: one hundred percent certain about that they're game changing players.
- 16:45Speaker 6: And I mean, as much as Rigor has been a disappointment,
- 16:48Speaker 6: you know, I think anytime there's a guy with a
- 16:50Speaker 6: little bit of pedigree that you can bring on the
- 16:51Speaker 6: practice squad and work them out for a little bit.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Like, just what do you think of his situation? He'll
- 16:59Speaker 4: be gone next week.
- 16:59Speaker 6: Yeah, that's that's I'm not I don't really, Yeah, I
- 17:04Speaker 6: mean I do. I don't even know what what that's
- 17:06Speaker 6: gonna really do two years later.
- 17:08Speaker 7: But I don't know.
- 17:09Speaker 6: I just I think anytime you have a chance to
- 17:11Speaker 6: take a chance on somebody like those, because god knows,
- 17:13Speaker 6: two years ago or three years ago, if they drafted
- 17:15Speaker 6: him in the first round, everyone would have gone crazy.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I think they just want.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Have gone crazy because they missed on Justin Jefferson.
- 17:22Speaker 1: But I think the Patriots just need options right now.
- 17:25Speaker 1: They need to see as many people and see what sticks.
- 17:28Speaker 7: Beat the bushes, you know. And I mean, I don't
- 17:30Speaker 7: know what's up with Parker.
- 17:31Speaker 6: I just I just think that he has of everything
- 17:34Speaker 6: we know about the Patriots offense. That's one of the
- 17:36Speaker 6: only things I feel like that's a thing like throwing
- 17:38Speaker 6: Parker a contested catch in the red zone. That's gonna
- 17:40Speaker 6: happen a dozen times at least this year. But if
- 17:43Speaker 6: he's not out there, you know, how do they kind
- 17:45Speaker 6: of play no Thornton with any speed on the outside,
- 17:47Speaker 6: So you know, now are you playing born on the
- 17:49Speaker 6: outside And it's just that I don't know, it gets
- 17:51Speaker 6: it gets sticky without Thornton or or Parker out there.
- 17:56Speaker 6: I just don't think you really have a true outside guy.
- 17:58Speaker 6: You've got a bunch of guys who are kind of
- 18:00Speaker 6: middling inside. So it's just how how are they going?
- 18:02Speaker 6: Maybe they lean more into Kasiki and that. I just
- 18:05Speaker 6: think that's my person.
- 18:07Speaker 7: Yeah, Like my.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Question is is is how are they going to balance
- 18:10Speaker 6: it all? You know, like how are they going to
- 18:11Speaker 6: balance Zeke and Remandre? How are they going to balance
- 18:13Speaker 6: the two tight ends? How are they gonna bounce?
- 18:15Speaker 7: You know?
- 18:16Speaker 6: But that's yeah, I mean, that's that's the whole thing
- 18:18Speaker 6: onto itself. Although I think I just feel like with
- 18:20Speaker 6: Calvin Anderson, if he's able to go at right tackle,
- 18:22Speaker 6: I mean, that's.
- 18:23Speaker 4: That's what I mean. How are they gonna I mean,
- 18:24Speaker 4: you have strange when you and Anderson potentially playing for
- 18:30Speaker 4: the first time.
- 18:31Speaker 7: And not really anybody to row.
- 18:32Speaker 4: You can't expect them to go wire to wire right.
- 18:35Speaker 6: You're gonna have to rotate a little bit, I mean,
- 18:37Speaker 6: and then it's you know, are one of those guys
- 18:39Speaker 6: lower Wheatly that they got ready is so ready to
- 18:43Speaker 6: get a chance.
- 18:43Speaker 7: I mean, it's.
- 18:44Speaker 6: Thee And when you get into your rotational stuff, Paul,
- 18:47Speaker 6: that I think is a great observation.
- 18:49Speaker 7: That's where it gets scary. I mean, I like, for
- 18:50Speaker 7: my like, at least we get out there.
- 18:52Speaker 6: I'm like, there's a starting five that seems like a
- 18:53Speaker 6: reasonable starting five. We get to the third quarter, we
- 18:56Speaker 6: see how it looks in terms of conditioning and stuff.
- 18:58Speaker 4: I could see something like Strange starts at left guard
- 19:02Speaker 4: on the third series, Mafi replaces him at left guard.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Maybe on the fourth series Mafy moves to right guard
- 19:08Speaker 4: for when you and Strange goes back in.
- 19:09Speaker 7: And that's how you sort of right tackle.
- 19:13Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, but he could play right tackle.
- 19:15Speaker 4: I'm not telling you, but I don't think he would
- 19:17Speaker 4: go from right guard to right tackle without injury.
- 19:20Speaker 1: And by doing what Paul.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Just and so would do the same thing for Calvinish.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Doing what Paul suggested, it kind of avoids another team
- 19:30Speaker 1: like getting the read on a guy. So if Mafi
- 19:33Speaker 1: goes from one position to another, a different series, like
- 19:36Speaker 1: if he's losing.
- 19:37Speaker 7: A battle like you can protect him a little Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 7: you can.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Protect him a little bit. I think you have to
- 19:43Speaker 1: be strategic that way, because you know, Philadelphia's front is
- 19:47Speaker 1: that good and it's deep, and if they get a
- 19:49Speaker 1: matchup that they can exploit, they're going to exploit it.
- 19:51Speaker 1: They're gonna go crazy.
- 19:52Speaker 6: I mean, they've got some stuff to play with that
- 19:54Speaker 6: Nolan Smith, you know, off the.
- 19:56Speaker 7: Edge, I mean, they've got they've got some depth with that.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Yeah, So it's gonna be an interesting game. I mean,
- 20:03Speaker 1: to me, the key is the defense for the Patriots.
- 20:06Speaker 1: They have to just try to keep it close into
- 20:09Speaker 1: the second half. Don't let this thing get away from them.
- 20:12Speaker 1: You know, that's the and then maybe you got a shot.
- 20:15Speaker 1: But the defense has to get the Eagles off the field,
- 20:20Speaker 1: the Eagles offense so that you just can keep it
- 20:23Speaker 1: within range, you know.
- 20:25Speaker 3: To me, I think it starts with the offense because
- 20:27Speaker 3: if the offense can't stay on the field, and the
- 20:29Speaker 3: defense is going to be on the field the entire game,
- 20:31Speaker 3: and they're gonna be burnt out.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I know, the score they give each other hope, there's
- 20:37Speaker 1: no doubt about it.
- 20:38Speaker 3: They need like long drives, they need to stay on
- 20:41Speaker 3: the field. So that the defense can have a chance
- 20:42Speaker 3: to catch.
- 20:43Speaker 1: But don't you think like there's less chance of the
- 20:45Speaker 1: offense coming out hot than the defense for the Patriots.
- 20:48Speaker 1: So I think it's gonna take the offense some time,
- 20:51Speaker 1: and I look at the defense as that middle reliever
- 20:54Speaker 1: that just kind of keeps the game close until you
- 20:56Speaker 1: can get to your closer.
- 20:57Speaker 4: I think the Eagles offense is better than their defense.
- 21:00Speaker 4: So I would give Philly's one.
- 21:02Speaker 9: Of the few teams too that actually has a respectable
- 21:05Speaker 9: oline that, like our pass rush might have a difficult
- 21:08Speaker 9: time with.
- 21:09Speaker 8: That's one of our greatest advantages.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I mean, there's a reason why they went to the
- 21:12Speaker 1: super Bowl.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Now, you're right, like the week one uncertainty that Bill
- 21:16Speaker 4: always talks about, who knows, maybe this year's Eagles offense
- 21:19Speaker 4: is not going to be anywhere near as explosive as
- 21:21Speaker 4: it was last year, and maybe teams spent the offseason saying, Okay,
- 21:26Speaker 4: this is what they're doing, this is all the RPOs
- 21:28Speaker 4: they're running with Hurts. Let's make sure we take that away,
- 21:30Speaker 4: you know whatever, mush rush and keep him in the pocket,
- 21:33Speaker 4: make him beat us with his arm, and maybe he's
- 21:35Speaker 4: not as good without that stuff. I think he is.
- 21:38Speaker 4: I think he sort of developed last year in that regard,
- 21:41Speaker 4: and teams had a hard time finding answers. And I
- 21:43Speaker 4: think their weapons individually, whether it's Swift or Brown or
- 21:48Speaker 4: DeVante Smith or Goddard, I think they have a lot
- 21:50Speaker 4: of different options. And those are the kinds of teams
- 21:53Speaker 4: that traditionally had given the Patriots defense trouble when there's
- 21:56Speaker 4: not one guy to focus on or two guys, and
- 21:58Speaker 4: then of course the ability factor with the quarterback has
- 22:01Speaker 4: been thrown on their side for a while.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I saw an interesting stat on Hurts is that the
- 22:07Speaker 1: key for him is not keeping him in the pocket.
- 22:09Speaker 1: It's pressuring him to move, you know, because his number
- 22:13Speaker 1: is his completion percentage when he's on the move goes
- 22:16Speaker 1: from like sixty something percent down to twenty something percent
- 22:20Speaker 1: when he throws on the move.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Now how does that fare with other guys? I don't know,
- 22:26Speaker 4: but I've always been told he's very good off platform
- 22:28Speaker 4: on the run.
- 22:29Speaker 1: On a design play.
- 22:31Speaker 4: But I'm talking about it red the needle and I
- 22:35Speaker 4: don't know. That number sounds bad to me, but is
- 22:37Speaker 4: it is? It is that number one in football?
- 22:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 22:40Speaker 4: For throwing on the run.
- 22:41Speaker 1: But you know, if that's the difference, little thing you
- 22:44Speaker 1: can yeah, but yeah, I just I mean, you know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: not to get on this, but like you know.
- 22:49Speaker 7: If Bill Bill's the greatest coach of all.
- 22:51Speaker 6: Time and this is the NFL's hot new offense. I said,
- 22:55Speaker 6: if if Bill's the greatest coach all the time and
- 22:57Speaker 6: this is the hot new offense, you know, and they've
- 22:59Speaker 6: gotten pains by this kind of attack a few times
- 23:02Speaker 6: in recent memories, certainly Lamar Jackson a couple of times.
- 23:05Speaker 4: You know, it's with less weapons than this team.
- 23:07Speaker 6: It's you know, it's I don't want to say it's
- 23:08Speaker 6: time for this to happen, but like you know, hey,
- 23:10Speaker 6: we're putting our faith in the coach here, and the
- 23:13Speaker 6: coach to come up with You've had a full year
- 23:15Speaker 6: to prepare for this. To Paul's point, we know what
- 23:17Speaker 6: they do. They took the NFL by storm. So you know,
- 23:20Speaker 6: maybe a little bit of that special sauce from Bill
- 23:22Speaker 6: Belichick would be it would be nice, like you know something, Wow,
- 23:25Speaker 6: they look like they're having some trouble moving the.
- 23:27Speaker 1: But I think that special sauce will only go so far.
- 23:29Speaker 1: If Christian Gonzalez is having a hard time, you know, sure, absolutely,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I mean because that's going to be trial for fire,
- 23:35Speaker 1: but for him.
- 23:36Speaker 6: Oh absolutely, yeah, yeah. I mean there's no there's no
- 23:39Speaker 6: easy way around it. Like I just think they're gonna
- 23:40Speaker 6: make plays. And it's not like you can say, well,
- 23:42Speaker 6: we'll just play zone, or we'll just play Man Demand,
- 23:44Speaker 6: or we'll just do X, Y or Z, we'll just
- 23:46Speaker 6: play this package. Like there's no answer schematically, you just
- 23:50Speaker 6: have to play better than them, and everybody has to
- 23:52Speaker 6: play well for sixty minutes. It's just one of those
- 23:54Speaker 6: games where you throw the playbooks out the window. I
- 23:56Speaker 6: feel like, because they do everything well and you want
- 23:58Speaker 6: to take something away, well, they've got something else.
- 24:00Speaker 7: So you just got to.
- 24:01Speaker 6: Win every snap, you know, as much as you can,
- 24:04Speaker 6: and then at the end make those last plays that
- 24:06Speaker 6: you know sometimes they weren't able to make last year.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Speaking of the secondary, I heard on want of Paul's
- 24:12Speaker 1: shows this morning a guy called in and again I
- 24:15Speaker 1: don't know, did you hear this? He said, he's very
- 24:19Speaker 1: very very close. He has a friend who's very very
- 24:21Speaker 1: close to the Jack Jones case, and that word is
- 24:26Speaker 1: that the whole thing's good, not get dismissed.
- 24:29Speaker 4: But he said dismissed.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think he misused that word. It's going
- 24:33Speaker 1: to be a plea bargain where there'll be no jail.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I have to do some community service and it's all
- 24:39Speaker 1: going to be announced this week.
- 24:40Speaker 6: So he's there's a loophole in there, somehow something happened
- 24:43Speaker 6: that there's'll be improperly collected evidence.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Or no, no, no, no, you know what I worry about, right,
- 24:49Speaker 4: I worry about everything, right. I worry that if it
- 24:53Speaker 4: gets sort of completed this week that allows the NFL
- 24:56Speaker 4: to step in and suspend them. Well, that could be
- 24:58Speaker 4: that worries me. Yeah, Whereas if this played out, they
- 25:01Speaker 4: might just say, well, we're going to let it play
- 25:03Speaker 4: out in the courts, and maybe he squeezes in the
- 25:05Speaker 4: season before it actually goes to trial or whatever. If
- 25:08Speaker 4: it's going to be finalized and he has a plea bargain,
- 25:11Speaker 4: and if it's if he pleas out, he's going to
- 25:13Speaker 4: have to plead guilty, right then I think the NFL
- 25:16Speaker 4: can step in, but he would.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Be pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
- 25:19Speaker 4: IF's I'm not saying they will, I'm saying they can't.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Say but I don't think the league would. I think
- 25:23Speaker 1: they say, well, the court's spoken. If they think that,
- 25:26Speaker 1: you know, all he has to do is community service,
- 25:28Speaker 1: then we're good.
- 25:29Speaker 4: You know how many guys the court has spoken and
- 25:30Speaker 4: said the guy didn't have to do anything and they
- 25:32Speaker 4: suspended him, like Ezekiel Elliott.
- 25:36Speaker 1: But there was video there of him, like.
- 25:38Speaker 4: You know in the court said he didn't do anything wrong.
- 25:41Speaker 1: No, but there was video, there was public reaction will
- 25:44Speaker 1: be big, yeah, factory.
- 25:46Speaker 7: I just wonder how he's going to get out of it,
- 25:47Speaker 7: Like what is you know?
- 25:48Speaker 1: I don't like, I said, I don't wonder who's.
- 25:50Speaker 8: Close enough to this case to be even speaking about it.
- 25:53Speaker 4: That's why I don't. I don't buy it. Yeah, I
- 25:55Speaker 4: don't buy it at all.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 25:57Speaker 4: He said it's today. Fred's right. The guy said it's
- 26:00Speaker 4: going to get resolved today.
- 26:01Speaker 7: Oh really?
- 26:02Speaker 4: Yeah, so who knows? Maybe the guys really close with
- 26:06Speaker 4: one of the guys involved in law enforcement.
- 26:09Speaker 6: Moving el moving Ellen Evan Lazzar weighed in on our
- 26:12Speaker 6: previous discussion about the QBS.
- 26:14Speaker 7: He just texted it.
- 26:15Speaker 4: But I miss it, doesn't because I'm sure I'm sure
- 26:18Speaker 4: he read the rules.
- 26:18Speaker 6: He texted this with his tongue while he was carrying
- 26:20Speaker 6: a box up flights of stairs up. To clarify, the
- 26:22Speaker 6: difference now is that QB two has to be on
- 26:24Speaker 6: the fifty three man roster. The rule was originally not
- 26:26Speaker 6: written that way, so you could elevate QB two from
- 26:29Speaker 6: the practice squad and dress all three quarterbacks with Corral
- 26:31Speaker 6: as emergency. QB could have dressed all three while only
- 26:34Speaker 6: taking up two game.
- 26:35Speaker 7: Day roster spots. That's the loophole they closed, That's what evans.
- 26:38Speaker 4: So, yeah, I don't think there's anything different there that
- 26:40Speaker 4: I said.
- 26:42Speaker 1: I think, well, he's saying they changed the rules.
- 26:44Speaker 4: You can't use a guy on the practice squad as
- 26:47Speaker 4: your emergency quarterback either. Like that's like that's the like
- 26:51Speaker 4: the rule that they said yesterday. But I just don't
- 26:55Speaker 4: know how that would have been an advantage.
- 26:57Speaker 3: I guess were they trying to say that, like you
- 27:00Speaker 3: could elevate elite Cunningham, well, Matt Correll, that you could
- 27:04Speaker 3: elevate Cunningham without I don't know, without taking a roster spot.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Jack And says, the loophole was that if the first
- 27:14Speaker 1: two quarterbacks did not have to be on the fifty
- 27:16Speaker 1: three man roster. The Pats could have named Mac as
- 27:20Speaker 1: their first quarterback and named Cunningham as their second quarterback
- 27:24Speaker 1: without placing him on the fifty three man roster. Then
- 27:27Speaker 1: the Pats could have designated Corral as their emergency You
- 27:29Speaker 1: can't do that, no, but he's saying they could.
- 27:32Speaker 4: You could never have a guy on the fifty three
- 27:34Speaker 4: man roster if he's not on the fifty three man roster,
- 27:36Speaker 4: he said, he would have to be elevated from the
- 27:38Speaker 4: practice squad. They could still do that.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he said. Then they designate Corral as their emergency
- 27:44Speaker 1: third quarterback, then Cunningham could have played even if both
- 27:47Speaker 1: Mac and Corral were not injured.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Yeah, oh yeah, that is the rule. But you can't
- 27:55Speaker 4: have Cunningham play and be the layer not be on
- 27:57Speaker 4: the fifty three man roster, right or be.
- 28:00Speaker 1: You can't have him play and be declared the emergency quarterback.
- 28:04Speaker 1: The emergency quarterback cannot play period, unless both the other
- 28:08Speaker 1: quarterbacks get hurt.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Period, And you can't have a guy off the practice
- 28:12Speaker 4: squad active if someone else is an emergency quarterback.
- 28:15Speaker 6: It's just for teams with a third quarterback on their
- 28:17Speaker 6: regular roster. He's he's okay on game day, right, Like,
- 28:20Speaker 6: he can be the game day quarter.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Only if the other two quarterbacks are.
- 28:23Speaker 7: But I mean, I'm just saying he's able to dress
- 28:25Speaker 7: then for the game if you have a third quarterback
- 28:27Speaker 7: on your FI As.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Far as like I said, can chime in again because
- 28:31Speaker 4: I know, like I said, I know he read this.
- 28:34Speaker 4: As far as I can tell, they can opt to
- 28:36Speaker 4: have Zappy elevated to the active roster on Sunday and
- 28:40Speaker 4: have Jones, Zappi and Corral if they want to elevate
- 28:45Speaker 4: Cunningham to him as well. They could all be active.
- 28:48Speaker 4: You can have the game, you can have ten. None
- 28:49Speaker 4: of them can be the emergency quarterback. That's all.
- 28:52Speaker 7: They couldn't. Corral no, because he's on the fifty three.
- 28:56Speaker 4: No, because you can't elevate a guy from the practice
- 28:58Speaker 4: squad to make him the two. If you're going to
- 29:00Speaker 4: use another guy as the emergency quarterback, he can be inactive,
- 29:05Speaker 4: but he can't be the emergency quarterback. Okay, all right, Well,
- 29:08Speaker 4: according to what I read Yester, the way I read
- 29:10Speaker 4: it yesterday. But my point is they haven't closed any
- 29:14Speaker 4: loophole to use Malie cunning game if they want to like,
- 29:17Speaker 4: they just can't have an emergency quarterback if they want
- 29:20Speaker 4: to have.
- 29:21Speaker 1: You don't even.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Understand what I'm saying. Yeah, but that's what I don't
- 29:23Speaker 4: really get. I don't really get where the advantage was lost.
- 29:27Speaker 4: I don't think they've lost any advantage. I don't think
- 29:29Speaker 4: they had an advantage to begin with.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I'd be interested to hear what Evan thinks of why
- 29:35Speaker 1: they changed the rule.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Well, I'm pretty sure I have an idea.
- 29:38Speaker 7: Let's see if he's he's not typing.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I don't know, Yeah, because it's fiance, probably caught him
- 29:43Speaker 3: with his phone moving to the show.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Pick up that box, all right? Eight five to five,
- 29:49Speaker 1: pass five hundred is the a sticking outline? Web radio
- 29:52Speaker 1: at patries dot com? Is the email address any other
- 29:56Speaker 1: Patriots news we just got to pick up before we
- 29:59Speaker 1: open up the phones and question.
- 30:01Speaker 3: So, if this guy is wrong and Jack Jones like
- 30:04Speaker 3: can't play or whatever happens and he can't play, how
- 30:06Speaker 3: comfortable are we with what's left?
- 30:08Speaker 7: Sean Wade, Yeah, that I don't think it would be him.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Well, everyone's saying that he was used differently this preseason
- 30:16Speaker 1: and it's more suited to his abilities in the slot inside,
- 30:21Speaker 1: not on the outside. Even though he's a bigger guy,
- 30:23Speaker 1: he's just not suited for the outside. And he did
- 30:25Speaker 1: better playing against maybe Mills.
- 30:28Speaker 7: Maybe Mills. Yeah, yeah, I think a mere speed. That's it.
- 30:33Speaker 4: I think, well, Miles Bryant could play well.
- 30:35Speaker 7: I'm saying outside guys, I mean Miles Brown the outside.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Oh, I mean, if you had to put some I
- 30:40Speaker 4: would just put Jonathan Jones back on the outside and
- 30:42Speaker 4: put Marcus Jones in the slot. If Jack Jones can't play, Yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 4: I don't love that.
- 30:48Speaker 7: No, I think you got too. I think Jonathan.
- 30:49Speaker 6: I mean, I'm expecting Jonathan Jones canna be outside, yeah
- 30:52Speaker 6: to begin with, But j and Jonathan if.
- 30:55Speaker 4: Jack Jones plays Sunday, I expect Jack Jones and Gonzales
- 30:59Speaker 4: to be outside with Jonathan Jones on the slot.
- 31:02Speaker 7: I don't, Okay, I disagree with you.
- 31:04Speaker 4: I'll bet you at lunch.
- 31:05Speaker 7: Okay, I think it'll be Ja Jones.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Now they won't. Now they won't play.
- 31:09Speaker 6: Well, what if it's like this, What if it's j
- 31:11Speaker 6: Jones and Gonzalez of the two outside guys and they're
- 31:15Speaker 6: kind of you know, mixing and matching on the inside.
- 31:16Speaker 7: Then third down, Jack Jones comes on. J Jones goes
- 31:19Speaker 7: in the slot.
- 31:20Speaker 4: Oh, then the bets off. That's off because that means
- 31:22Speaker 4: Jack Jones didn't start. I'm saying Jack Jones is going
- 31:25Speaker 4: to start.
- 31:25Speaker 7: You think they'll go three corners?
- 31:27Speaker 4: Yeah, but if he doesn't start, then my bets off.
- 31:30Speaker 7: Okay, all right, that's fun, little side, that little side hustle.
- 31:33Speaker 1: I can't wait. I can't wait.
- 31:36Speaker 6: There's a lot to look at plus Brady anything that, like, Yeah,
- 31:41Speaker 6: what's he going to be doing?
- 31:42Speaker 3: The plot twist is Brady is going to be QB
- 31:44Speaker 3: one and Max and to be QB two.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Here we go. I like it coming out of it.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Here is on the roster so he can be a
- 31:50Speaker 4: Can we elevate Brady?
- 31:52Speaker 7: What's elevating a retired player? Is that?
- 31:55Speaker 1: All right, let's get to the phones. Got a lot
- 31:58Speaker 1: to talk about. People have things on their mind. They
- 32:01Speaker 1: need to impart on us. Patty's and agawam, what's up?
- 32:06Speaker 10: What up?
- 32:06Speaker 11: Everyone?
- 32:07Speaker 1: Hey?
- 32:07Speaker 7: Patty?
- 32:09Speaker 11: I don't know why.
- 32:10Speaker 12: Maybe it's because I'm not too great, but I've got
- 32:13Speaker 12: a really good feeling about this game against Philly. Now,
- 32:16Speaker 12: I'm not saying that they're gonna win or they're gonna
- 32:18Speaker 12: like run over them. But I just I think people
- 32:21Speaker 12: are gonna be underestimating this team. Not only that, I
- 32:24Speaker 12: think there's gonna be a lot of emotion. I think
- 32:26Speaker 12: with the the new video board, I think that could
- 32:29Speaker 12: give you know, if the fans show up and if
- 32:33Speaker 12: they're if they're really into it from the from the
- 32:35Speaker 12: first snap, you know, the first defensive snap. I think
- 32:38Speaker 12: this that might be able to rattle the Eagles offensive
- 32:41Speaker 12: line a little bit. That being said, you know, I
- 32:45Speaker 12: think people, like I said, are going to underestimate the
- 32:47Speaker 12: offense this year. And you guys already know Max might
- 32:50Speaker 12: breakout player. And that's all I got.
- 32:53Speaker 1: All right, thanks. I would love it if the reason
- 32:56Speaker 1: why the Patriots won this game is because of the
- 32:58Speaker 1: new video board. We should that would be great. Yeah,
- 33:02Speaker 1: you know, best investment.
- 33:03Speaker 9: The Patriots ever had on the video board, like like
- 33:06Speaker 9: a basketball player taking a free throw.
- 33:08Speaker 6: It's just my favorite thing about the new video board
- 33:11Speaker 6: is that I can't even see it from my seat
- 33:13Speaker 6: that spot.
- 33:14Speaker 7: It's like it doesn't even exist.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I can only see like the bottom half of it.
- 33:17Speaker 1: You got nothing like feet right.
- 33:19Speaker 7: It's the same exact field.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, I just wonder if video boards around the
- 33:27Speaker 4: league get the amount of attention that from fans as
- 33:29Speaker 4: this one did, not like from the fan viewing experience,
- 33:32Speaker 4: because I think that's awesome, well the one and the Cowboys,
- 33:34Speaker 4: I mean, but I'm talking about affecting the game. Like, yeah,
- 33:38Speaker 4: I've heard like double digit questions about the wind patterns. Yeah,
- 33:43Speaker 4: I just can't imagine that that has gotten as much
- 33:46Speaker 4: attention in Denver, say, like it's supposedly that's the tallest one.
- 33:50Speaker 3: It happened at your Dame because they didn't have one
- 33:52Speaker 3: on one Saturday. They didn't have one at all, Like
- 33:54Speaker 3: it was bad on one satur stadium because they wanted
- 33:56Speaker 3: to keep the historic field.
- 33:58Speaker 4: But there was that year that they got names and
- 34:00Speaker 4: stuff too, that get They got really wild on their jerseys, Yes,
- 34:04Speaker 4: like what do you de penn State put the stripe
- 34:06Speaker 4: down the helmet and they said whoa, whoa woa, whoa
- 34:08Speaker 4: whoa slow down.
- 34:10Speaker 3: So Notre Dame usually only puts the names in the
- 34:11Speaker 3: back of their jerseys for bowl games, and if they're
- 34:13Speaker 3: seen before that, then it's like you would think all
- 34:16Speaker 3: hell is regular.
- 34:17Speaker 7: Rudy's rolling over in his grave.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Pretty sure he's still with us.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Yeah, Christians in LA. What's up Christian?
- 34:28Speaker 13: Yeah, hey guys. Two quick questions, one pertaining to the
- 34:32Speaker 13: game and the other one pertaining to leave. First one,
- 34:34Speaker 13: the game, how many points do we have to win
- 34:38Speaker 13: by for you guys to say, Okay, the team looks
- 34:41Speaker 13: good and we have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs?
- 34:43Speaker 13: And then conversely, how many do we have to love
- 34:46Speaker 13: by for you guys to say it looks like we
- 34:48Speaker 13: don't have the talent to go you had this year.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not done and twenty Yeah you can't, like listen,
- 34:54Speaker 1: I'm not going to fall into that like week one
- 34:56Speaker 1: and then that's it. Come on, well, let's not do that.
- 34:59Speaker 7: But I went out in any fast. But can I
- 35:02Speaker 7: watch the games? Yeah?
- 35:04Speaker 4: Like, you know, if it's one of those games like
- 35:07Speaker 4: Cincinnati last year and they happen to win it, it'd
- 35:09Speaker 4: be really exciting in an upset. But I'm not going
- 35:12Speaker 4: to say that that means anything going forward. If they
- 35:15Speaker 4: just like low their doors off and they're the better
- 35:18Speaker 4: team for sixty minutes, then I'll sit back and say, wow, yeah,
- 35:21Speaker 4: I didn't see that coming. I might have to reassess.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I don't think Duke's going in the National championship because
- 35:25Speaker 1: they be clemsing.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Absolutely, But that's a perfect example if it's like that.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Did you see that? Do you watch any of the game? No,
- 35:31Speaker 4: Clemson killed them. They missed two field goals, they fumbled
- 35:34Speaker 4: twice inside the ten, once at the one. Yeah, it's
- 35:38Speaker 4: just one of those things, right, yeah, yeah, all right.
- 35:41Speaker 13: Here's my second question. As the league never to be
- 35:44Speaker 13: moved to the eighteen games schedule, would it be more
- 35:47Speaker 13: beneficial for the league to allow five more players to
- 35:51Speaker 13: the active lobster or ten more players to the practice squad.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Some adjustment I could see.
- 35:57Speaker 4: Can't have any more in the practice squad, yes.
- 36:00Speaker 1: But but I could see, you know, maybe more active
- 36:02Speaker 1: on game day, you know, perhaps you know.
- 36:05Speaker 4: I think the practice squad used to be like five.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it was. It was really low.
- 36:09Speaker 6: I mean it's not really different now because of COVID
- 36:11Speaker 6: with veterans, you got six six veterans.
- 36:13Speaker 7: I think that you can have on that.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Are I mean I think they should get rid of that,
- 36:16Speaker 1: you know, just the ir rule they changed. I think
- 36:19Speaker 1: I like that rule coming back.
- 36:21Speaker 6: Unlimited people can return now where it used to just
- 36:23Speaker 6: be like a handful, right, Like I don't know, two,
- 36:25Speaker 6: maybe two or something. At some point there was only
- 36:27Speaker 6: a couple guys that returned from there. So I just
- 36:29Speaker 6: I like any chance it gives a team to develop players,
- 36:32Speaker 6: to hold on to players, you know, I get that's
- 36:35Speaker 6: what it should be.
- 36:36Speaker 1: It kind of.
- 36:36Speaker 6: Becomes like a little holding ground for like vets who
- 36:39Speaker 6: you don't really want to pay, and.
- 36:40Speaker 4: So instead of six of these, maybe can we use two?
- 36:43Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 36:44Speaker 4: You know, can we can we lower it from because
- 36:46Speaker 4: I think you can have six vets on the practice squad?
- 36:48Speaker 4: Can we lower that till like two and have the
- 36:51Speaker 4: other ones.
- 36:51Speaker 6: Be because it's like guys like Jayden Rieger that you know,
- 36:54Speaker 6: it's yeah, it's nice for the team to be able
- 36:57Speaker 6: to take a chance on him and look at them.
- 36:58Speaker 6: But I'd rather see a player like that, if he's
- 37:00Speaker 6: really gonna make it, have to get picked up by
- 37:02Speaker 6: a roster and you know, I I mean, I would
- 37:05Speaker 6: guess by this point he would A guy like him would.
- 37:07Speaker 7: Have burned his eligibility already anyway.
- 37:08Speaker 6: But I mean, I like the flexibility of it. But
- 37:12Speaker 6: they got they got I mean, it's all guys too
- 37:14Speaker 6: that are internal. It was all guys that were pretty
- 37:16Speaker 6: much in camp with them here.
- 37:17Speaker 7: I think there was one.
- 37:18Speaker 6: One exception was h was watch his face Farrow Brown
- 37:21Speaker 6: that just got promoted. So I don't know, it's just
- 37:23Speaker 6: interesting after COVID how that's all evolved.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I also Fred because I asked Mike a
- 37:28Speaker 3: similar question, not in regards to points win or lose,
- 37:32Speaker 3: but just like on expectations going into the game. It's like,
- 37:34Speaker 3: if they play well but they lose, it's like, are
- 37:37Speaker 3: you going to be happy or you know, high expectations.
- 37:40Speaker 8: But if they.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Play horrible, are you going to be like they're exactly
- 37:44Speaker 3: where I thought they were?
- 37:44Speaker 1: Yeah? Well, people will say that it's.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Tough because I'm like, this is a good team. So
- 37:48Speaker 3: like if you were opening against the Lions, then it'd
- 37:51Speaker 3: be different.
- 37:51Speaker 8: But it's the Eagles.
- 37:52Speaker 1: But like Paul said, you got to see the game.
- 37:55Speaker 1: What if the Eagles just look bad have six turnovers?
- 37:58Speaker 1: Because what are you going to gain out of that?
- 38:02Speaker 4: They could lose the game and raise my expectations by
- 38:05Speaker 4: playing well, right and playing against a team that played
- 38:09Speaker 4: well and they were just better and they beat you
- 38:10Speaker 4: that day, Like I could see myself saying, well, wow,
- 38:14Speaker 4: they stood toe to toe with them.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Paul two thousand and one. What was the great example
- 38:18Speaker 1: of the Rams. Sorry, we played the greatest team on
- 38:22Speaker 1: turf and they beat us during the regular season, but
- 38:25Speaker 1: we were right with them, and then we beat them
- 38:27Speaker 1: in the super Bowl.
- 38:28Speaker 6: You know, it's a big it's a big matchup. I mean,
- 38:31Speaker 6: I think I'll take a win in any capacity, no matter.
- 38:33Speaker 4: How the bottom line is you win the game and
- 38:36Speaker 4: you know you're feeling better about yourself then.
- 38:38Speaker 6: But I feel I do always I always temper expectations
- 38:41Speaker 6: for week one, and I also try not to get
- 38:43Speaker 6: ahead of myself to look at Miami because I think
- 38:45Speaker 6: that that's that's.
- 38:46Speaker 7: A real big game.
- 38:46Speaker 6: Oh yeah, you know, as much as you lose, it
- 38:52Speaker 6: can happen. But I just I'm really optimistic this year
- 38:55Speaker 6: that they're going to be a lot more competitive with
- 38:58Speaker 6: with these good teams. I think a lot of these
- 39:00Speaker 6: games are gonna you know, and even the ones that
- 39:01Speaker 6: maybe looked competitive and you know on the scoreboard, we
- 39:04Speaker 6: knew weren't really competitive. I think they will be a
- 39:06Speaker 6: lot more competitive this year. I just hope that they
- 39:08Speaker 6: have enough to get over the top, you know, and
- 39:11Speaker 6: beat these teams. Like I don't want the season where
- 39:14Speaker 6: we fought hard. We were right there with everybody, but
- 39:16Speaker 6: we you know, it was a six and eleven season.
- 39:18Speaker 7: Like that's you know, I don't want that moral victory of.
- 39:20Speaker 4: How he just sneaks in there.
- 39:22Speaker 1: I know, see see how we don't want it.
- 39:24Speaker 4: I don't want I didn't say six and eleven, see
- 39:26Speaker 4: how he just sneaks it in there?
- 39:27Speaker 7: I think you did on the radio line, I did.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Not uh toss in New York. What's up to.
- 39:34Speaker 14: Hey, guys, I'm I'm thinking about my favorite reading regular
- 39:42Speaker 14: season game?
- 39:44Speaker 10: What is yours?
- 39:46Speaker 4: Which one is yours?
- 39:47Speaker 7: What do you got?
- 39:49Speaker 5: Week twelve thirteen Patriots versus wrong going twenty four zero
- 39:56Speaker 5: come back?
- 39:57Speaker 4: Oh that was a great, great one. That was a
- 39:59Speaker 4: great one in the wind, Yeah, yes.
- 40:02Speaker 1: I mean I love the Grand The Tennessee shalaking was
- 40:06Speaker 1: a great one. The one with was it against the
- 40:11Speaker 1: Bills where he had five touchdowns in a quarter or
- 40:15Speaker 1: something like?
- 40:15Speaker 4: Fred loves all the blowouts. I like the one. I
- 40:18Speaker 4: I like the one at Denver on a Monday night
- 40:21Speaker 4: game in like three where he hit Givens. The safety game,
- 40:24Speaker 4: the Lannie Paxton's was a great one. That that drive
- 40:28Speaker 4: down the field at the end and the throat of
- 40:29Speaker 4: Givens just perfect.
- 40:31Speaker 6: Yeah, that Ravens oh seven game. It wasn't like necessarily
- 40:33Speaker 6: a great game.
- 40:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 40:34Speaker 6: I just took great enjoyment of watching the Ravens absolutely
- 40:37Speaker 6: melt down in the game.
- 40:39Speaker 4: So this is time to pick from.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, toss Seek, thanks for the call. Let's
- 40:45Speaker 1: go to Anthony in Seattle. What's up, Anthony?
- 40:47Speaker 10: Hey, what's up my people?
- 40:49Speaker 1: Hey?
- 40:51Speaker 10: Hey, I called it. Sorry that I got sidetracked with
- 40:54Speaker 10: my double one reiterating my two role prediction, but I
- 40:57Speaker 10: called it about something else, a couple of things. Oh
- 41:00Speaker 10: you cracked me up man. On Tuesday. That was one
- 41:03Speaker 10: of the best PFW slash tu cursing moments because.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you hear yourself say, I even repeated it.
- 41:13Speaker 10: I did like around Oh.
- 41:16Speaker 4: I was very mic like on that one.
- 41:18Speaker 7: Just you didn't even realize.
- 41:19Speaker 4: I didn't even realize you repeated it.
- 41:22Speaker 10: What did Yeah was the first time somebody repeated it,
- 41:28Speaker 10: and then it was like, oh, I did curse.
- 41:29Speaker 4: So oh yeah, that word is not yea not allowed
- 41:32Speaker 4: to say that.
- 41:33Speaker 10: Okay, fauld and dude, and I'll real quick and I'll
- 41:35Speaker 10: get off the air.
- 41:35Speaker 11: But a couple of things.
- 41:36Speaker 10: I loved the the twelve Brady moment. I agreed with
- 41:40Speaker 10: the with the the top three. I knew those would
- 41:43Speaker 10: be the top three in my opinion, and obviously just opinion.
- 41:49Speaker 10: If we're talking about just moments that Super Bowl fifty one,
- 41:54Speaker 10: and I know you had to play crappy in order
- 41:56Speaker 10: to be down twenty eight to three, but the fact
- 41:58Speaker 10: of the matter is they were down two eight to three.
- 42:00Speaker 10: And then what I saw that, man, do is we're
- 42:03Speaker 10: talking about just Brady. I mean, as far as the
- 42:06Speaker 10: game tuperow forty nine by all means.
- 42:07Speaker 11: But as far as just Brady, Wow, I mean.
- 42:11Speaker 10: And that was the day after my thirtieth birthday, so
- 42:13Speaker 10: I was told enough to appreciate what I had seen,
- 42:16Speaker 10: and it was just like it was like godly to me.
- 42:19Speaker 10: I did chills when I talk to people about it.
- 42:22Speaker 10: I don't want to go on a tangent because I
- 42:23Speaker 10: want to take up too much time. One thing that's
- 42:24Speaker 10: tied to that more Fred's thing as far as like moment,
- 42:28Speaker 10: just like a moment by itself, is media day leading
- 42:33Speaker 10: up to that. And one of those things named something
- 42:35Speaker 10: that lives like rid free in your head is when
- 42:37Speaker 10: the kid.
- 42:38Speaker 11: Asked them, who's your who's your hero?
- 42:41Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 42:41Speaker 10: You know my dad, and I cried, I cheer up.
- 42:46Speaker 10: And when I think about it because in hindsight, what
- 42:48Speaker 10: you know, his mom was battling cancer. You know, Tom
- 42:50Speaker 10: Brady Senior is the rock of that family. You know
- 42:53Speaker 10: his wife obviously, and then you to see Tom the human.
- 42:56Speaker 11: Side and the you know the my dad that that
- 42:59Speaker 11: oh my god.
- 43:00Speaker 15: Yea.
- 43:00Speaker 10: So those are two things that I wanted to pitch.
- 43:03Speaker 7: All right, thank you, Anthony, are the mister miss coming,
- 43:06Speaker 7: mister missus.
- 43:07Speaker 4: Brady family will be yes, and he well, Tom Sr.
- 43:14Speaker 4: I don't know about I don't know about her. That's
- 43:18Speaker 4: that's that's a woman.
- 43:19Speaker 9: Right, That's a woman, trust me, a woman.
- 43:28Speaker 4: You guys are very inappropriate. Yeah. I think Chris Gasper
- 43:33Speaker 4: of The Globe had a piece last week. I think
- 43:35Speaker 4: Sunday with Tom Brady Senior. And the plan is for
- 43:39Speaker 4: Tom and Galen to be there. Damn rights, damn rights.
- 43:42Speaker 7: Damn rights.
- 43:43Speaker 6: We expect to win pretty easily, to be honest, wh
- 43:45Speaker 6: when we said that about the Tampa thing.
- 43:46Speaker 4: Frankly, frankly, frankly, they didn't win easily. No, I was
- 43:52Speaker 4: wrong about that.
- 43:53Speaker 1: You know all right, web radio at patres dot com
- 43:56Speaker 1: is the email address, got a lot of email.
- 44:01Speaker 4: I'm not supposed to be like a monsoon on Sunday
- 44:03Speaker 4: or anything, is there.
- 44:04Speaker 1: There's a thirty chance? Yeah, I mean, if you know, like,
- 44:08Speaker 1: because we're gonna get real hot, this week's gonna be
- 44:12Speaker 1: on Thursday, building up exactly, and that's what happens. Eventually
- 44:15Speaker 1: it breaks and usually there's no.
- 44:17Speaker 4: I just assume that would be Friday night when I'm
- 44:19Speaker 4: at TJ's game.
- 44:20Speaker 7: I want to get a weather check on that.
- 44:23Speaker 1: David and Bethlehem says a couple of points. Philly has
- 44:26Speaker 1: replaced both offensive and defensive coordinators.
- 44:29Speaker 4: Correct.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Their old line is not solid. The center is old,
- 44:31Speaker 1: and I think they have a couple of rookies. Herts
- 44:34Speaker 1: has not grown taller. Pat's pass rush can force him
- 44:37Speaker 1: to leave the pocket where map who can mop up
- 44:40Speaker 1: Pat shot the Sharks and win.
- 44:44Speaker 4: Okay, So just so you know, the Eagles returned four
- 44:47Speaker 4: or five starters on their on our offensive line that
- 44:49Speaker 4: is considered to be, if not the best, one of
- 44:52Speaker 4: the three best offensive lines in football, though the one
- 44:54Speaker 4: area they lost Isaac supposed I think in free agent
- 45:00Speaker 4: see second year Guy cam Jurgens is replacing him, and
- 45:03Speaker 4: he had an up and down camp. According to Jeff
- 45:07Speaker 4: McLain of the Philadelphia Inquirer, I read some stuff from him.
- 45:11Speaker 4: Sort of feels like he's a good player, but he,
- 45:14Speaker 4: you know, sort of struggling. So maybe that opens the
- 45:17Speaker 4: door for a Christian Barmore or even Godscha on early downs,
- 45:21Speaker 4: maybe you know, collapse the pocket a little bit for
- 45:24Speaker 4: some some pressure. But I'm sorry, Landon Dickerson.
- 45:28Speaker 7: Jordan, Jordan Giant.
- 45:32Speaker 4: And Lane Johnson. That's an excellent offensive line. Now maybe
- 45:36Speaker 4: you play better than them on Sunday, that's why they play,
- 45:39Speaker 4: but that's a good offensive line.
- 45:41Speaker 7: I just you mentioned Barmore.
- 45:42Speaker 6: I'd love to see him out there and really playing
- 45:44Speaker 6: a lot, and I'd even throw a quality in there.
- 45:46Speaker 6: I just I think we were talking Evan about this.
- 45:48Speaker 6: I'm sure we'll get into it in the next couple
- 45:50Speaker 6: of shows too. But it's just if you kind of
- 45:52Speaker 6: do that thing with Godshaw and Guy where the two
- 45:54Speaker 6: gap and they kind of sit there like it just
- 45:57Speaker 6: allows them so much time in.
- 45:58Speaker 7: The backfield to do their little stuff and you know,
- 46:01Speaker 7: do what they want.
- 46:02Speaker 6: I just I'd love to see an aggressive approach that
- 46:04Speaker 6: just kind of has bar more in a quality in
- 46:06Speaker 6: the middle, and even maybe key On White go get them, you.
- 46:09Speaker 7: Know, just to every play.
- 46:10Speaker 1: I just love a year from now to be saying
- 46:13Speaker 1: Keon White and Christian barbar are the to one of
- 46:15Speaker 1: the you know, two of the most ferocious tackles in
- 46:18Speaker 1: the league.
- 46:19Speaker 7: And hopefully we can resign.
- 46:21Speaker 4: Oh, Like that'd be great if these guys would get
- 46:24Speaker 4: re signed and stick around.
- 46:25Speaker 3: And I really just hope that they're available to do
- 46:28Speaker 3: dress that. And I think with Barmore, like we really
- 46:31Speaker 3: suffered last year not having him for that handful of
- 46:33Speaker 3: games where he was hurt. So hopefully this year, like
- 46:36Speaker 3: he starts off strong but also finishes there and.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Is able to play more than just third downes, you know,
- 46:41Speaker 1: like they decide they're going to use him and he performs.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Dan and Maine says, what's up with the news on
- 46:48Speaker 1: Juju's knee being a ticking time bomb and no thoughton
- 46:52Speaker 1: for at least four weeks? Do we need to make
- 46:54Speaker 1: a move in the wide receiver room early in the
- 46:56Speaker 1: season like they kind of are they're you know, little
- 47:00Speaker 1: moves they're doing it.
- 47:01Speaker 6: I just hate how the media operates now where these
- 47:03Speaker 6: stories get recycled every other week and you're.
- 47:05Speaker 7: Like, we just we just dealt with this. He said
- 47:07Speaker 7: it two weeks ago. We all talked about it two
- 47:09Speaker 7: weeks ago.
- 47:09Speaker 6: Karen wrote a whole thing two weeks ago, and now
- 47:12Speaker 6: I guess Dove apparently decides now it's time to reaggregate
- 47:15Speaker 6: it and it comes out again and everyone has to
- 47:17Speaker 6: like respond against.
- 47:18Speaker 8: To it like a new new report.
- 47:20Speaker 15: Right.
- 47:20Speaker 8: He was, yes, the same thing.
- 47:24Speaker 4: That's an old thing that Brier wrote.
- 47:26Speaker 9: Literally, I just tweeted it yesterday for I am trying
- 47:31Speaker 9: to figure out the reason.
- 47:32Speaker 4: I didn't love Juju's response. By the way, in Karen's
- 47:35Speaker 4: piece didn't necessarily shoot it down. But this is not
- 47:40Speaker 4: new news even with Bert's report. I mean, Juju Smith
- 47:44Speaker 4: Schuster is second year in the league, just absolutely exploded.
- 47:48Speaker 4: He had like one hundred catches for like fifteen hundred yards,
- 47:51Speaker 4: and he had a really bad knee problem the following
- 47:55Speaker 4: year and has never really been the same. He's dealing
- 47:57Speaker 4: with a knee injury that has affected him at the
- 48:00Speaker 4: very least and prevented him from playing at the most periodically.
- 48:04Speaker 4: Since I want to say that was eighteen that he
- 48:07Speaker 4: had that big year maybe it was nineteen, but last
- 48:12Speaker 4: year in Kansas City, I think he was able to
- 48:14Speaker 4: manage it enough that he was out there playing. And
- 48:16Speaker 4: I think that's probably a reasonable expectation now, Like, I
- 48:19Speaker 4: don't know if he's going to give you. He's not
- 48:21Speaker 4: going to give you the fifteen hundred yards, like, but
- 48:24Speaker 4: can he be a complimentary piece of the puzzle. I
- 48:27Speaker 4: think he can.
- 48:27Speaker 7: I just I don't know what he is.
- 48:28Speaker 6: I really, I mean he could and I think we
- 48:30Speaker 6: said on the show, like he could be good. I
- 48:31Speaker 6: just you know, he might be one of those receivers
- 48:33Speaker 6: that he's big, he's physical, he doesn't pop when you're
- 48:36Speaker 6: just kind of practicing. But I didn't see a lot
- 48:38Speaker 6: from him this summer, and you know it certainly had
- 48:40Speaker 6: a couple where it looked like, all right, that's him
- 48:43Speaker 6: one on one at the five yard line with the
- 48:44Speaker 6: guy he's I think he's.
- 48:46Speaker 7: Going to get in and if that's a game situation.
- 48:48Speaker 7: So I don't know.
- 48:49Speaker 6: I think he's one of the most interesting players to
- 48:51Speaker 6: watch this You think he can be as good as
- 48:53Speaker 6: le Garrett Blunt was.
- 48:54Speaker 1: When he was here.
- 48:55Speaker 7: Oh that's an interesting.
- 48:57Speaker 4: Who are we talking about?
- 48:59Speaker 1: Ju ju oh I was talking about z on the
- 49:05Speaker 1: five yard line.
- 49:06Speaker 4: Yeah the problem. Yeah, I think Zeke will be a
- 49:08Speaker 4: good goal line back. But I don't know about the
- 49:11Speaker 4: Garrett Blun because I don't think he's going to get
- 49:13Speaker 4: that that amount of carries. But like I know what
- 49:16Speaker 4: I thought.
- 49:17Speaker 1: But you know, every once in a while, you know,
- 49:19Speaker 1: he tippy toe in the backfield and get caught a lot,
- 49:21Speaker 1: but every once in a while he break one.
- 49:23Speaker 7: I had a scheme going, and I don't know.
- 49:25Speaker 6: I I think my expectations for Zeke are more just
- 49:27Speaker 6: as a complimentary back, and you know that they both
- 49:30Speaker 6: had a really good day. I don't really expect, wow,
- 49:32Speaker 6: Zeke's really going today, Romandre. We're going to pull back
- 49:35Speaker 6: on him and this is going to be a Zeke
- 49:36Speaker 6: day like it was with Blunt Blunt against the Colts.
- 49:39Speaker 4: You remember, like I was going to say that my
- 49:40Speaker 4: recollection of Blunt is just hereak. Every time they played
- 49:43Speaker 4: the Colts, he run for about twenty could you.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Could you see them elevating Kevin Harris on game day,
- 49:49Speaker 3: like to have three or do you think they'll stick
- 49:50Speaker 3: with two?
- 49:52Speaker 6: I think they'll stick with two in time, Ontomery I
- 49:54Speaker 6: think they elevate.
- 49:55Speaker 4: Time Montgomery, you think he'll get elevated.
- 49:57Speaker 7: I think that would be the three right three.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Because he there's him in the passing game.
- 50:01Speaker 7: I think he's as much a receiver as anybody as
- 50:03Speaker 7: any of those guys.
- 50:04Speaker 4: Yeah, you're probably right, all right.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Well, as you can see Fritz Foods here, everybody's Fritz.

- 58:29Speaker 19: and look at this, Brady's gonna go with an.
- 58:31Speaker 4: Empty backfield that's putting the pressure on himself.
- 58:34Speaker 19: Brady takes the snap back to throw, gets rid of
- 58:36Speaker 19: it down the field.
- 58:37Speaker 20: Got twenty yard line, thirty thirty five forty down the
- 58:41Speaker 20: lock sideline.
- 58:42Speaker 4: He's gonna go the touch packs on ninety nine yard
- 58:45Speaker 4: touchdown play.
- 58:46Speaker 16: How about that?
- 58:47Speaker 1: Unbelievable? How about that?

- 59:31Speaker 4: Great moments in.
- 59:35Speaker 1: History. If they didn't have joint practices, I think this
- 59:38Speaker 1: three would be a three.
- 59:39Speaker 4: Do you know the difference between a joint and a
- 59:41Speaker 4: blunt and a split? I heard a little talk today.
- 59:45Speaker 4: I didn't know what a blunt was. I had to
- 59:47Speaker 4: I had to have it explained to me, and I'm
- 59:49Speaker 4: I don't know if.
- 59:50Speaker 1: It rolled cigarette, cigar, roll, cigar.
- 59:55Speaker 7: Joint and paper.
- 59:56Speaker 16: The spli is a mixed tobacco and weed.
- 59:58Speaker 4: It like in a gent.
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: That's what he made.
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: He makes himself a nice fifty to fifty mix. Now
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: is it it?
- 1:00:04Speaker 10: Is it?
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: Pronounce it's a spliff sliff? Yeah, I always I don't
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: know why I thought it was screeez.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Spliff spliffy if you want to pronounced splif spliffy.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: Now, now as I understand it, Matthew, it's pronounced spliff
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: That is that correct?
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I did. I learned a little something today
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: listening to Hardy and Arkans.
- 1:00:23Speaker 16: But the blood is marijuana, pot dope as as you
- 1:00:27Speaker 16: would as you would acquire and enjoy it.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: But the blunt itself is actually just the role.
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: Is that correct? It's just a different name.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: What about the chronic?
- 1:00:37Speaker 16: Are you chronics the type of marijuana?
- 1:00:39Speaker 7: I mean I lived in California?
- 1:00:40Speaker 10: Right now?
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: What about the white widow?
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: What is that?
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Okay, here we go. This is why, this is why
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: we gotta shoot the post games.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: This is the best part. This is what people stay
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: up for. The guy in UK he's still listening. It's
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: six o'clock in the morning.
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Now you want to here to provide a service. What
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: is the stickiest of the inky? I need to know?
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: What about the chronic? That's another great moment from.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:01:14Speaker 15: Uh?

- 1:01:42Speaker 6: I got some leaf peepers coming in in early November
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: to PieP some leafs? Is that too late for leaf peeping?
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: It depends on the weather.
- 1:01:49Speaker 7: I guess that's all we can't figure out.
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: You know, it seems like the seasons are delayed a
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: little bit.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: I think so.
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: I think so.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: Yeah, globe warming.
- 1:01:56Speaker 8: Yeah, they say we're going to have a really colorful
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: fall though, because of all the rain this summer.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Oh that makes sense.
- 1:02:02Speaker 8: Fun people are saying.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: I mean, I've never remember it having my lawn green
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: all through August. Really, yeah, you know, so it's because
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: of the rain.
- 1:02:13Speaker 7: Who knows. Hopefully there's no snow all right?

- 1:02:21Speaker 1: com is the email address. We're back to three shows
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: a week, Duce Tamara, Alex Paul, myself, Matt in the booth.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Evan is moving but he did email us what what?
- 1:02:33Speaker 17: What?
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: What's he saying, I don't know, he's just you don't know, well,
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: he just he has something kind of cryptic, which I
- 1:02:40Speaker 6: don't know if I'm clear to share. But it's just
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: it sounds like what we're talking about with Jack Jones,
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: that there might be something brewing there today with him
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: pleading let's hope.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: Let's hope get that clarified and get him in the
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: starting line, then we can have our bet, but pleasure.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: I'm concerned for Evan listening to the show and writing
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: in and what his fiance is going to do when
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: she sees him doing this, She's gonna take the phone confiscated.
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: Treading carefully, I hope.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: So let's hope that guy on in all seriouss, let's
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: hope that guy on ninety eight five today was right, yeah,
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: and it's going to end today.
- 1:03:07Speaker 7: But it's like, but again, like when you plead out,
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: you're saying, yeah, I did it. Do with me what
- 1:03:13Speaker 7: you will, but I did what?
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Like you know right? That that's what I just you know,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: sometimes you plead to a lesser charge, right, and then
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: it's a deal.
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: Is that just like possession?
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: As tomorrow will tell you from Law and Order.
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: I was just gonna sit. Do you remember back in
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: the old days with what was it shift?
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Yeah, the just make the deal. You better make it.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: You better get this right. It's gonna be your job,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: my job, everybody's job.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: Make the deal. He wanted to make the deal every time,
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: and obviously you knew they weren't going to make the deal,
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: otherwise there would be no show.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: He always just wanted to, you know, wash his hands
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: of every case.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: That was when like Sam Waterston was the A D
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: A right, the og, Jack McCoy, him and Mike Michael Moriarty.
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: You probably you probably weren't even alive when those guys were.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: Michael Moriarty was like one of the original adas.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Yeah, he was the first one.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: I have gone back to season one actually and watched it.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: It's crazy how different it looks, Paul, It's crazy.
- 1:04:13Speaker 8: I neverone watched those only s VU.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: I won't let my wife.
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: You learn a lot.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: There are two kids getting raped and women getting raped,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: and it's just it's.
- 1:04:25Speaker 8: Not good for you to be very careful that it
- 1:04:29Speaker 8: teaches you to be like an anxious mess.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:04:36Speaker 9: But also would you rather your wife just like blissfully
- 1:04:40Speaker 9: skipping through a parking garage at night, or be kind of.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Someone who watch We're ready to go. We don't need
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: the TV show to teach us that, you know, you
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: ready to go.
- 1:04:51Speaker 8: That's why women love true crime so much. It's because
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: we feel like we're getting preppar rate. I don't personally
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: like true crime.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: That much, but getting prepared to like they're getting prepared to.
- 1:05:02Speaker 8: Be defending themselves or together out of a situation.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: I mean in a sense like you don't like walk
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: down the street of New York, like always in your
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: phone you should always pay attention to like is someone
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: following you ten blocks? Is someone coming in behind you
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: in your apartment like that.
- 1:05:17Speaker 9: I watched a TikTok video of a girl bear Macon
- 1:05:19Speaker 9: the hell out of some guy who is trying to
- 1:05:22Speaker 9: get into her apartment with her, and like, yeah, that's
- 1:05:25Speaker 9: just happening now, So.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: You learn a lot.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: Also, I really like the crossover episodes, like when the
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: regular Law and Order and SPU work together it is amazing,
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: or when.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: They mix it with the Chicago Yes, yes, oh that's
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: really new. Oh yeah, I've never seen a Chicago fire.
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: Just so you know, those have been on for like
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: ten years too, you know Chicago fire Chicago p D
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: Chicago Fire.
- 1:05:52Speaker 8: Yeah, amazing, And they all cross over with each other
- 1:05:55Speaker 8: and it's all the same. I need to that's different.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: Now there's a regular FBI, then there's an international, and
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: then there's the most wanted. It's like eight nine in
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: ten cs. I still go the international one. I don't
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: really love.
- 1:06:12Speaker 8: What's the criminal intent on order? Criminal intent too?
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: It's a new and now there's organized organized crime with
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: a stable.
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: Yes, boy to beat Dick Wolf huh money?
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: Okay, So he I wonder I'm.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: Like, is he paranoid, like coming up with all these
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: scenarios and stories, like is he parenting.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Stories? He's like just sitting back right now. Everybody else
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: is doing the work. Anyway, back to football.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: As we all know, the stories are ripped from the headline.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: Eight five five past five hundred is the A Sticket hotline?
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Web radio at pages dot com is the email address.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Let's get to the A Sticket hout line. Jeff's and Maine.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: What's up, Jeff, Jeff? I know you're there. I hear
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: you up, Jeffrey. Yeah, okay, Jeff, you call, you wait
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: for twenty minutes and then you hang up. You do
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: you Jeff, whatever, whatever you want to do. Let's see
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Christian from North Charlotte rights. In last show, Paul said,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: what are you doing as a fan if you don't
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: go into a season with optimism. I want to counter
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: this argument being the fan with no optimism.
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: Okay, all right, good one.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: The roster building has been terrible this off season. Two,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: our first round pick so far looks like he needs
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: a year to truly be a top tier player. Three
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: we may have one of the worst o lines in
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: the league this year. Four Finally, we are essentially having
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: to rely on the downfall of teams to make a
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: playoff push this year. Eight to nine is the ceiling
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: for this team. I think until we get a new GM,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: I want to be realistic about this team and hopefully
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: I get surprised this year. That's the most optimism I
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: can get.
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I would push back a little on two and three. Yeah,
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: I don't. First of all, I think the offensive line
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: right now is dealing with a lot of injuries, and
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: these guys are getting back. I think if three weeks
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: from now they don't suffer any more injuries, I think
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: you're gonna look at that and say, Okay, we're all right, right,
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: Trent Brown, Cole Strange, David Andrews, Michael and you and
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: Calvin Anderson. I think it's not the best offensive line
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: in the world, but I don't think you'll be looking
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: at that and say, well, no one could compete behind
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: that offense.
- 1:08:31Speaker 8: There's like an epidemic of bad lines right now.
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: I feel like two yeahs end up in the Super
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: Bowl somehow. I don't know. I don't know how that goes.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: But here's my prediction. If Matt Jones is thirty percent
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: better than he was as a rookie, the Patriots will
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: be vying for the playoffs at the end of the year.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: If he makes a thirty percent improvement over a good year,
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: they'll be in the playoffs.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: But here's the thing about it. I've heard people say,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: if Jones can just be as good as he was,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: that's not good enough. No, that's not good enough. I agree.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: He faltered down the end and he was very controlled.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: You know, if they played him the same way this
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: year that they did two years ago, Patriots will do nothing. Yeah,
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: he's got to be markedly better than he was as
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: a rookie.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: I forget what the third one was there, but two
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: and three. I didn't necessarily think with Fay.
- 1:09:22Speaker 7: Well, the team building stuff.
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: I mean, I agree, and man, I like some of
- 1:09:26Speaker 6: their draft picks, but you know, and I think that's
- 1:09:30Speaker 6: where it needs to come from. Obviously, in hindsight, you
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: would have loved to maybe drafted a tackle, a real tackle,
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: or signed a tackle who wasn't in their mid thirties.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Yeah, building the way Mike is like the little subtle
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: words real tackle in the mid thirties, part really low
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: is just power.
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: So that's another one that's you know, sort of stuck
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: with me. Riley Reef. We mentioned the beginning of the show,
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: he's placed on ir Right, he spent a week maybe
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: playing tackle, and then the rest of camp in the
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: preseason playing guard. Right yesterday he gets moved on injury reserve,
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: and the headlines were all projected starter at tackle. Well,
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: I don't think Bill Belichick looked at it that.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Way, didn't. Yeah, didn't he get hurt in the third
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: quarter of the preseason.
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: Playing guard playing guard? But my thing is tackle. I'm
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: I think he may have been a starter, but I
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: don't think they were playing on starting him at tackle
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: based on what I saw.
- 1:10:34Speaker 7: But he couldn't. He couldn't hang out there.
- 1:10:35Speaker 6: Still he was playing guard, been okay, he probably still
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: will be okay, as their third guard might even.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: Just call So here's another interesting thing off of that.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: Ian Rappaport from NFL.
- 1:10:46Speaker 7: Netwhe crap sheet, crap sheet.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: He said, uh not, I forget the exact wording, but
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: not expected or not necessarily a season long, season ending
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: injury for the reef for a reef, which tells me
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: I'm not necessarily sure he's gonna be back in four
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: weeks or available in four weeks.
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: That's I mean, And that's I know some people have
- 1:11:13Speaker 7: kind of highlighted that decision.
- 1:11:14Speaker 6: I mean, I don't know if that was necessity to
- 1:11:16Speaker 6: have to play him in the third preseason game, but
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: I mean, given the situation you already were in with
- 1:11:21Speaker 6: the offensive line, it was I mean, maybe they had
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: a bead already that when you and Strange were going
- 1:11:25Speaker 6: to be okay. But still, that's that's that's a tough
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: one lose. You know, somebody who I mean not necessarily
- 1:11:31Speaker 6: projected starter. But I think he's say, if he was healthy,
- 1:11:33Speaker 6: probably he's definitely.
- 1:11:34Speaker 7: Playing this week.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: You know, I don't know if he so when you
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: talk about on when you Cold Strange and maybe even
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Trent Brown to start this game against the Eagles, do
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: you play the guys that had more reps this summer
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: and then rotate in the guys who are the projected starters,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: or do you do it the other way around, the
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: other way around you put in the.
- 1:11:56Speaker 6: Guys that Yeah, I think I would put in the
- 1:11:59Speaker 6: guys but I just I think that, you know, for
- 1:12:02Speaker 6: cold Strange to not really have done anything all this
- 1:12:04Speaker 6: summer and then to get a test like this against
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: a team that you know, this is guys.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: That you kind of see what's going on with Philly's
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: front and then you know, okay, we're getting killed. We
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: got to put Cold Strange in, or we got to
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: put on when You in, then we kind of know
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: what to expect.
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, and I wonder too, just like a
- 1:12:23Speaker 6: factor for me is like just the energy of the
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: first game, you know, and how much energy is that
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: Philly defensive line going to come out with. I would
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: expect they're going to come out for Week one and
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: the place is going to be rocking, and they're gonna
- 1:12:33Speaker 6: feel like the underdogs because you know, they're inn in
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: waste stadium, and I would expect they're gonna.
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: Come with a lot of energy right at the top.
- 1:12:39Speaker 7: So I don't know.
- 1:12:39Speaker 6: I mean, it's I definitely feel more like start with
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: the starters, but I also am just like, you know,
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: those guys ready to handle what's going to come at
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: them right out.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Of the gate, Like if they wear down, Yeah, what
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: do you do in the second half?
- 1:12:51Speaker 7: You know and know where to go.
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: I mean, I think I think it's like Paul said,
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: it's going to be a little bit of a mix,
- 1:12:56Speaker 6: and you'll work Maffie in.
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: And their health and so much strange. And that's a
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: big assumption because he hasn't really been a full participant
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: in back to back practices and stuff. So yeah, I mean,
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: I think that's a big assumption. But if they're healthy
- 1:13:10Speaker 4: enough to be out there, then I think that they
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: should start and play as much as they can. Now.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: I don't expect them, like I've been saying for a
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: week now or two weeks, I don't expect them to
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: go wire to wire. I think that's asking too much.
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: And Rappaport's tweet was placed Riley reef on Injuriserve, though
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: it's not believed to be season ending.
- 1:13:29Speaker 7: That to be the yeah, wiggle room of it could possibly.
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: Like to me if it I wasn't really thinking of
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: it in terms of a season ending injury. But my
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: guess is that's in play.
- 1:13:40Speaker 6: I mean, to be honest, not to say that it's
- 1:13:43Speaker 6: every somebody got injured, but if they get kind of
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: the band aid torn off and it's like, well, sorry,
- 1:13:48Speaker 6: you just got to play Jake andrews now or you know,
- 1:13:50Speaker 6: you got to play mofee more than you might have
- 1:13:51Speaker 6: wanted to, Like, those things are more in the long
- 1:13:54Speaker 6: term interest of the team then, you know, making sure
- 1:13:56Speaker 6: Riley Reef gets back.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Uh Neil and Nuke Brunswick. Is this team any good?
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: On paper? The a f C is way too good
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: for us to compete. Name five teams in the a
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: f C that, on paper are worse than the Patriots.
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: Indeed, Houston, the Raiders.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: See some would argue the Raiders, aren't they have more talent?
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: I think they're rebuilding motive.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's four.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: Yeah, Broncos mm hmm.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all depends on Peyton there.
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: Yeah, it's I get the guy's point. I get the
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: email's point. I think if you're it's the better conference
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: you have, but you have to if you're looking for
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: more than what the Patriots have accomplished so far, You're
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: you're banking a lot on Bill Belichick and Bill O'Brien.
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: They're going to coach us through this.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: He says, our only hope is elape by Matt Jones
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: to be a bona fide franchise quarterback, which I believe
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: is possible, but the old line disaster Bill created makes
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: it even less.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: Like, well, if that happens, if Mac Jones makes the
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: lead to franchise quarterback, now your roster is not where
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: people think it is right now. Yeah, do you know
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: what I mean? Like you better. Your talent is better
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: than people think it is. If you have an elite
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: quarterback on your team, that's part of your talent on
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: your roster. And I don't think a lot of people
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: look at Mac Jones that way right now.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: Anthony says, you can plead no contest in a case
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: and take a deal from the prosecution without admitting guilt.
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: So okay, hmm, I guess we'll wait to see what
- 1:15:35Speaker 6: exactly transpired, But I think, I mean, I think it's
- 1:15:38Speaker 6: it's a good point by Paul that just because he's
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: out of.
- 1:15:40Speaker 7: That, I just worry about the league could come down
- 1:15:43Speaker 7: and about the way I.
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: Think that for the most part lately they seem to be,
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: you know, kind of lenient, but you never know, and
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: then if you know, they're going to screw the Patriots,
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: right Jeff?
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: And mainly what's up, Jeff?
- 1:15:59Speaker 7: Yeah, thank you, Jeff.
- 1:16:01Speaker 14: So the AFC is just loaded all around the NFC,
- 1:16:05Speaker 14: I would say it's more top heavy, with a lot
- 1:16:08Speaker 14: more bottle bottom of the barrel team. Where would you
- 1:16:11Speaker 14: rank the Patriots and the NFC. I think i'd have them,
- 1:16:15Speaker 14: as a fan, the sixth best team. I'll take it
- 1:16:18Speaker 14: off the.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: Air, I think that, okay. Yeah, And like in the division,
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: like if if you just like extrapolated so that they're
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: in the NFC East, I would say Philadelphia and Dallas
- 1:16:28Speaker 4: are both better than them. They're probably on par with
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: the Giants in Washington, maybe better than Washington. Yeah, but
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: if you put them in like the A South, I
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: think they would run away with it.
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: Maybe, I think they're by far the best of those
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: four teams, So.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Maybe not top five, but they could be definitely top
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: ten in the NFC.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: And maybe you know, they better be top ten.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: In the close close to five or close to six maybe.
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, but it's just all on paper, and
- 1:16:56Speaker 6: I think that's what we're all excited.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: Like.
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: You know, you spend all season summer reading like the
- 1:17:01Speaker 6: previews and this and that, and they added this guy
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: and that guy, and then this guy and that guy
- 1:17:04Speaker 6: get hurt, and you know, until you start playing the games,
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: you really get a sense for who these teams are
- 1:17:08Speaker 6: and who suddenly has caught a little magic.
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: Did you hear Fred on my station this morning when
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: that guy who called in about the Jack Jones information
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: that looks like he's was right?
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: Did you hear like when Rich kept talking about like,
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: well now we can get away all the fake stories.
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: It's real football now. And like what fake stories have
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: there been? I don't know, Like just because it's preseason
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: doesn't mean the stories are been.
- 1:17:32Speaker 7: I guess Zappi versus Mac was kind of no, sorry,
- 1:17:35Speaker 7: no it wasn't.
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: I don't think that was a fake story. I think
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: Mac played better than me too. You don't think Mac
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: played better than.
- 1:17:41Speaker 6: So No, I just don't think it was a back
- 1:17:42Speaker 6: and forth quarterback competition story. This summer it was you know,
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: maybe the well, I don't think.
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: That was the story. The story was that Zappi was
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: gonna have a chance to compete. Well, that was why
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: I said, and Mack killed him.
- 1:17:52Speaker 7: That story, That's what I mean. It wasn't a story.
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: Oh I disagree. I think it was a story. I
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: think they did have a chance to compete and Zappi
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: fell back. But you felt like that was a dramatic
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: story that went on through ramatic training I don't think
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: it was. I think it was a story.
- 1:18:07Speaker 6: I think it was a story until preseason started. Then
- 1:18:09Speaker 6: it wasn't a story and we were still kind of
- 1:18:10Speaker 6: beating the horse with it. And that's what that'stant what
- 1:18:13Speaker 6: about it? Like you know, Matt Bill hates Mac and
- 1:18:16Speaker 6: talk but.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: The offensive line health. I don't think that's a fake story.
- 1:18:21Speaker 7: No, that's not a fake st I just think it's.
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: Jones the situation. I don't think it's a fake story.
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: I just think it's the overreaction in both directions of
- 1:18:28Speaker 6: good or poor performances in a training camp practice or
- 1:18:31Speaker 6: you know, like like just reading too much into what
- 1:18:34Speaker 6: happens when quarterbacks don't really have pressure and you know,
- 1:18:37Speaker 6: those those are the stories that get kind of carried
- 1:18:39Speaker 6: away with that.
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: What I would agree, you know, but like I've also heard,
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: you know, many people say, like, you know, what's it?
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: The big reason that our own Bob Socy this morning
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: was on one of those stations give any reason for ops, Well,
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: the immense improvement on offense improvement? Played the games with
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: that small sample three series, and they weren't good in
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: that three series, uh sample size.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: Yeah, And I'm like the only thing you can say
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: immense improvement on is that it actually looks like an
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: offense is being run like in terms of like not
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: a lot of like miscommunication, and it looks clean.
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: It's faith, yeah, and I have it because I'm a
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: believer in Bill O'Brien. So I have the faith and
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: I understand that. But when I would say that, I
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: wouldn't say, well, the improvement on offense, Yeah, no, it
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: hasn't happened yet.
- 1:19:23Speaker 7: Yeah, it says question will.
- 1:19:25Speaker 6: I think we all feel better about the scheme, But
- 1:19:27Speaker 6: I think that only takes you so far, and at
- 1:19:29Speaker 6: a certain point, the players take over, and those are
- 1:19:31Speaker 6: the one that takes.
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: Point about Mac Jones' rookie year. The scheme brought them
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: only so far.
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: And that's why I just wonder, like, even with thirty
- 1:19:38Speaker 6: percent better Mac Jones, like, you know what if you
- 1:19:40Speaker 6: don't have the same defensive turnover output or touchdown ut putter,
- 1:19:45Speaker 6: you know, there's all kinds of these little It's not
- 1:19:47Speaker 6: just like it's just knob up and the other knobs
- 1:19:50Speaker 6: will all stay right where they were.
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: Mike, and it just don't allow three kickoff returns to touchdowns.
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: You go right, You don't eliminate the punt return you
- 1:19:57Speaker 4: had for a touchdown in the seventeen fumble returns you
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: had but touched out. Yeah, bose all stay the same.
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: You don't get it.
- 1:20:02Speaker 6: But but I think part of it too, though, is
- 1:20:04Speaker 6: if Mac is thirty percent better, then I think that
- 1:20:06Speaker 6: that's a good energy for the team and the team,
- 1:20:08Speaker 6: you know, because I do think that you know, some
- 1:20:10Speaker 6: of the stuff you've been seeing about players talking about Mac,
- 1:20:13Speaker 6: everybody's you know, how's Mac?
- 1:20:14Speaker 7: How's Mac?
- 1:20:14Speaker 6: All that you know constant that I do all think
- 1:20:17Speaker 6: that nobody really questions how hard that kid works and
- 1:20:20Speaker 6: how dedicated he is. But it doesn't mean that he's
- 1:20:22Speaker 6: going to be an NFL superstar. But I think everyone
- 1:20:24Speaker 6: in the locker room, respects his work ethic and the
- 1:20:27Speaker 6: energy that he brings every day. It's just ultimately got
- 1:20:30Speaker 6: to come down to he's got to perform. He's got
- 1:20:32Speaker 6: to you know, he's got to make that throw in
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: the fourth quarter that they have to have that score
- 1:20:36Speaker 6: that you know, he's got to make those plays to put.
- 1:20:38Speaker 7: Him over the top.
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: And I need that better to be in the red zone,
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: Like that's a great.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: Place speed if we can get there. But I mean,
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: but I think that there's no doubt on every team
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: that has a a you know, a franchise quarterback, they
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: set the tone, whether it's Joe Burrow or Jalen Hurts
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: or Aaron Rodgers. Now the Jets, Brady goes down to
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: Tampa and change the culture. The quarterback is the leader.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: And if they play well, it trickles down. It trickles
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: down obviously to the offense, but also the defense. It
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: gives them hope. You know, they play a little bit harder,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: they have a little bit more confidence.
- 1:21:18Speaker 6: You know, sort of at the NFL level, how long
- 1:21:20Speaker 6: did players buy what coaches and quarterbacks are selling in
- 1:21:23Speaker 6: terms of, you.
- 1:21:24Speaker 7: Know, just believing they can do it. Like any coach.
- 1:21:27Speaker 6: Could I could walk in as a coach and say
- 1:21:29Speaker 6: this is what we're gonna do, and you know, but
- 1:21:31Speaker 6: at a certain point, people just kind of stop believing you,
- 1:21:34Speaker 6: you know, like if it's not if you're not getting results,
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: it's like.
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: That's you know, I think that's a big Did you
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: see the clips of and I don't even know what
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: it is. It's like one of those in season hard
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: knocks is like on Showtime or something with Jonathan Gannon Arizona. Yeah, Like,
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: I'm sorry, but if I were a football player, I'm like,
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: that's my leader. I don't know how you can talk
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: like that and expect a command a room. Now, he
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: might be brilliant. I don't know a whole lot about
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: Jonathan Gannon or I know that the Eagles fans weren't
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: overly happy with him last year as defensive coordinator. Yep,
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: but I don't know much about his like his whole
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: personality or whatever. But just on that little clip, and
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: it's dangerous to go off with Twitter. Not a guy
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: necessarily I want to go to battle.
- 1:22:19Speaker 7: What was he saying about like taking the bus?
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: But how'd you get here today?
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: Did you hear that? Friend? Did you see it? How
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: like soft spoken he was.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: No, I mean, listen, if what you're saying is good,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: you can you know, you don't have to be no.
- 1:22:33Speaker 17: You know.
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: I don't think Bill is a fire and brimstone guy,
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: but I think he certainly motivated his team pretty well
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: for twenty Anything.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: About Dean Sanders, yeah, how about that?
- 1:22:40Speaker 7: Just flexing, flexing, we're not coming, we're here here is
- 1:22:46Speaker 7: built different.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: I mean, just like looking at all the clips from
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: the press conference of like people asking him questions and
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: he first before he answers your question, He's like, do
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: you believe? Because I saw your article, So do you
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: believe now?
- 1:22:57Speaker 8: And I'm like, oh, it's okay, I just.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: I don't know's I know, people, it's great, it's great theater,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: it's great entertainment. But I will say, setting him, he's
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: setting up that team for a hard fall.
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: You know. Yes.
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: But I was a little bit I guess shocked, not
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: shocked that they won, but like shocked, I guess just
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: to see them come out and play the way they did,
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: especially like they weren't playing like some off brand teams.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: I mean, his son was throwing down his son can play. Yeah,
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: I mean it.
- 1:23:28Speaker 8: Would have been.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: But the way makes it all about him.
- 1:23:31Speaker 8: It's like, come on, but I mean it would have
- 1:23:34Speaker 8: been bad.
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: So you know the video that went out when he
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: first got to the school and he got rid of
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: all those players, It would have been so bad if
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: he got rid of all those players and they came
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: out and they're just horrible.
- 1:23:42Speaker 7: But no, but and that's like to my point, it
- 1:23:45Speaker 7: gives him some credit.
- 1:23:46Speaker 6: Now, So this week in the locker room, there are
- 1:23:48Speaker 6: probably some players who I don't want to say we're
- 1:23:49Speaker 6: on the fence with, but you know, just all right,
- 1:23:52Speaker 6: is this real?
- 1:23:52Speaker 7: Like he's a lot of hype and there.
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: Were no players in that locker room on the fence
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: because he got rid of all you know, that's fair.
- 1:24:00Speaker 7: But but even more so today.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: They bought in there.
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: That's when people like I think that was sort of mischaracterised.
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: And you can come at if you want to say,
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: like did you believe I guess he really gave Edward
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: or a hard time? You know, media guys should be big.
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: You know, I'm a big boy. I wrote something and
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: you proved that to be one hundred percent wrong. You
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: have to take your medicine, Like how many times have
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: I said, like, listen, I was wrong, Richard Seymour, I
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: was wrong.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: I think.
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: I mean, it's not that hard. And if I was
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: in that press conference and he and I asked a
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: question and he wouldn't answer it and said, do you believe,
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: I would have said, no, you're right. I didn't and
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: I still don't. It's probably would have been my answer.
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: But you should as a media person, you should have
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: to take that. Like the media hue and cry Saturday afternoon.
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: This is no way to know when you write stuff.
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: You should be accountable, just like the coaches.
- 1:24:49Speaker 6: And the players have to be account have as big
- 1:24:51Speaker 6: of egos as way, big way, bigger now thing.
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: I would say, I don't think a lot of people
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: don't think Deon Sanders has the ability to coach. They
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: didn't agree with the way he went about doing this,
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: and I would stand by that. I don't think he
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: had to get rid of seventy five players like he did.
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: He goes, I only kicked twenty of them off. The
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: rest of them left, Well, what do you think they're
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: left for? And I think you like the ones that
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: he ski kept, like the kicker or something, or the
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: punty like I think you can bring in your fair
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: amount of guys from your your team, like your son,
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: and add transfer portal guys. I think what I think
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: he did was he went to the best schools and
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: looked at like the two and three deep and said,
- 1:25:36Speaker 4: would you rather be third string there or come and
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: play for me right away. I don't have any problem
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: with that, but you didn't have to kick everybody off
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: the team. And I think that's what he did, and
- 1:25:46Speaker 4: I think a lot of people that rubbed people the
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: wrong way.
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: I'll be interested to see. And this is my last
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: take on college football, because.
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: Right well, I know why you're out on college football.
- 1:25:54Speaker 4: That was on your Twitter Twitter feed.
- 1:25:56Speaker 7: It's been like ten minutes since you watch the vision stuff.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: She was not happy story for OAH. But I'll be
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: interested to see when they go up against at USC
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: in two weeks lled what his reaction is going to
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: be in the locker, in the locker room and his
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: press conference when the media comes to him, you know,
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: with questions as they should, like I hope he keeps
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: that same energy and taking accountability and understanding that like, hey,
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: this is why people were writing what they were before.
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: So because this week they have Nebraska they're not.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: Yeah, they're going to beat in Nebraska now, although Nebraska
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: was favored by eight and now the line has changed
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: since that win.
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: But Nebraska stinks.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but they were favored.
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: But that USC game is going to be a tough test,
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: and I'll be interested to see.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: Like he is now.
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: I would love to see them prove everybody wrong and
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: be great, because I think it's good for college football
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: to have someone upset the apple cart and do different things.
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: And I would love to see that happen if they
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: were to beat like Oregon and USC and Oregon State,
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: you know. But I think that most people look at
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: their schedule and say they'll go like seven and five,
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: maybe six and six, you know, and that would be
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: which to me, is they beat the teams they were
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: supposed to.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: First time D one coach, that's good. If he went
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: seven and five, six, I mean, I think all credit
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: to him if he can do that. I don't know.
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: I don't think that's much of an accomplishment.
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: His first year as a head coach in D one.
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: I think he's in coaching, I know not.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: No, he hasn't been coaching for long. Yeah, he has,
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: what four years?
- 1:27:28Speaker 4: Yeah, something like that okay, you know, and I think
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: he has an entire roster full of Division IE players
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: that he coached from other team.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: As you know, Paul, it's not about collecting talent, it's
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: about building a team. Yeah, well, in iron sharpens iron.
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: In college football, it's about collecting.
- 1:27:44Speaker 7: Talent, playing the greatest hits over here.
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: Like Kirby Smart and Nick Sabing collect talent like that's
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: why they beat everybody. You know, Ryan Day has a
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: lot of talent.
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: That's why you still got to coach him up. He
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: got to coach him up, you know.
- 1:27:58Speaker 6: But there's just a mix to it, you know. I
- 1:28:00Speaker 6: don't I don't think it's easy to cultivate. You can't
- 1:28:02Speaker 6: really like recruit and build a team like it's bit
- 1:28:05Speaker 6: by bit. But I think that teams have a certain thing.
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: And if he did that, if he just came in
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: and said, listen, this is going to take time, this
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: is you know, we have to get our players into
- 1:28:13Speaker 4: the program, then I would say, what Fred's Fred's point?
- 1:28:15Speaker 4: You know, six and six, that's remarkable. But he had
- 1:28:19Speaker 4: he brought all the talent, so he took away that
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: like sort of grace period that rebuild. What about that
- 1:28:24Speaker 4: they're not rebuilding that they have a.
- 1:28:26Speaker 7: Twelve kid that played both ways and if.
- 1:28:28Speaker 4: He can do that all year too, like more power too.
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: I'm like, and I'm rooting for that. I Like I said,
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: That's why I love Otani so much. Yeah, because I
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: love change the unconventional, Like if people say you can't
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: do that, like, well, why where where is it written?
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: If this kid plays every play like that, I mean,
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: that was amazing performance. I would I would be on
- 1:28:46Speaker 4: board with watching that love that love that love that
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: you uh like if he if he shuts down Caleb Williams,
- 1:28:52Speaker 4: you know, to point and that kid is like, you know,
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: picking off a couple of passes and being a shutdown corner,
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: That's great. What a great story that would be.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Kevin's in South Carolina?
- 1:29:03Speaker 11: Hey Kevin, Hey, by the way, you want to know,
- 1:29:07Speaker 11: you want to know, Dion's a good coach. Watched the
- 1:29:09Speaker 11: last game Jackson State played. All those dudes are gone,
- 1:29:12Speaker 11: that team got crushed.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: What so Jackson steak up from now all the players left?
- 1:29:19Speaker 11: M h, I will I will take over fred uh.
- 1:29:25Speaker 11: I watch everything you guys do on video on demand.
- 1:29:28Speaker 11: I love it And I'm always working with my first
- 1:29:30Speaker 11: time getting a call, and over a year I have
- 1:29:33Speaker 11: for you the performance reviews you didn't ask for. Iron
- 1:29:39Speaker 11: indeed strikes and sharpens, iron conflicts drives, good content, good work. Okay, yeah, Deuce,
- 1:29:48Speaker 11: I love your heel turned. I love it, but I
- 1:29:50Speaker 11: still miss the Brady song.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: There you go, Alex, what's up?
- 1:29:55Speaker 11: You throw darts? You always hit. Don't be afraid to
- 1:29:59Speaker 11: throwing more darts. I love your I love everything you do.
- 1:30:01Speaker 11: I'm calling you, by the way from Bluffing, South Carolina,
- 1:30:03Speaker 11: which is where Hayley Bieber is married.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: Justin Okay, my parents are just down tomorrow.
- 1:30:10Speaker 11: Sorry, I'm rolling on y'all, but watching on Saturdays makes
- 1:30:14Speaker 11: you better on Sundays. I love the content. I love
- 1:30:16Speaker 11: the social media minute. Thank you, Paul. I am from
- 1:30:22Speaker 11: the Boston suburbs. You are from the Boston suburbs. Need them?
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: No, No, Everett, not a suburb, not from a suburb.
- 1:30:33Speaker 11: In that case, I'm sure you'll take this well. You
- 1:30:36Speaker 11: are rude, just like me. Okay, And I'm trying to
- 1:30:40Speaker 11: assimilate here in South Carolina. I've been here fourteen years.
- 1:30:44Speaker 11: And let me tell you, you use comedy as a
- 1:30:47Speaker 11: love language, and watching specifically tomorrow assimilate from a southern
- 1:30:51Speaker 11: culture up north. What I've really enjoyed is this. She's
- 1:30:54Speaker 11: got a great sense of humor and that you all,
- 1:30:56Speaker 11: when you make each other laugh, is something I don't
- 1:30:58Speaker 11: get enough of down here. And so from what I
- 1:31:01Speaker 11: can read, watch anyone's video on demand, you are all
- 1:31:03Speaker 11: each other's biggest fans. I think that sentiment makes you
- 1:31:06Speaker 11: better than what I see on radio, and I celebrate
- 1:31:10Speaker 11: you so all around.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: Well, thank you, thank Evin. Right, thanks for the call, Kevin.
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: So we got our mid midyear review right there. I guess,
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: can we just know mine? Brady, he'll turn. That's a
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: w w e ye. Now you're a good guy, and
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: then you do your heel turn, you become a bad guy.
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: I got you, I gotcha. Yeah, yeah, Well that's what
- 1:31:33Speaker 7: three seasons of five hundred football will.
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: Be, right, He's just tired of twelve and four Adam's
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: and Delaware. What's up, Adam?
- 1:31:40Speaker 15: Hey?
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: How you guys doing good?
- 1:31:43Speaker 15: Great? So, I just I don't know if I'm late
- 1:31:46Speaker 15: to the subject or what I just got home from work,
- 1:31:48Speaker 15: but I apologize, but I have a question on like
- 1:31:51Speaker 15: the game game plan. To start the game, I noticed
- 1:31:55Speaker 15: that Barrow Brown was elevated from the the practice squads
- 1:32:00Speaker 15: the fifty three. And I don't know, just looking at
- 1:32:03Speaker 15: the Eagles front seven, is it really smart to go
- 1:32:06Speaker 15: that heavy personnel to start the game because obviously, like
- 1:32:08Speaker 15: here just going to load the box and try and
- 1:32:12Speaker 15: stop for Andre and Zeeke and it's just like, you know,
- 1:32:15Speaker 15: you don't want to go three and out and get
- 1:32:17Speaker 15: down two possessions to these guys and then you've just
- 1:32:20Speaker 15: become pass happy.
- 1:32:21Speaker 11: So like, do we you know, do we you know,
- 1:32:24Speaker 11: set up for that twelve and just you.
- 1:32:26Speaker 15: Know, obviously the smart thing to do would be wear
- 1:32:29Speaker 15: him down so the pass rush doesn't get the mac.
- 1:32:31Speaker 15: Or do we let Mac get up to the line,
- 1:32:33Speaker 15: spread him out, you know, you know, set his adjustments,
- 1:32:36Speaker 15: get his pre pre snap adjustments right, and really attack
- 1:32:39Speaker 15: the middle of the field where they have a rookie
- 1:32:41Speaker 15: and they lost t J. Edwards and then and then
- 1:32:44Speaker 15: the two new safeties. I don't know, it's just some
- 1:32:47Speaker 15: food for thought.
- 1:32:49Speaker 6: I don't I mean, I I just say I don't
- 1:32:51Speaker 6: just because that's a far Brown. I don't really see
- 1:32:53Speaker 6: it as a signal that gets a heavy tight end set.
- 1:32:55Speaker 6: I just think that they needed a third tight end
- 1:32:57Speaker 6: who can block, and I think that's what he is.
- 1:32:59Speaker 6: Talk to him in their locker yesterday. It seems, you know,
- 1:33:01Speaker 6: it's a very mature guy. Just seems like an experienced
- 1:33:03Speaker 6: NFL veteran. But I just I think when you have
- 1:33:05Speaker 6: limited tackle depth and you don't really have a tight
- 1:33:07Speaker 6: end who can block, you'd love to have that guy
- 1:33:09Speaker 6: you can.
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: They're gonna have the time. Yeah, they're gonna have to
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: have like tackle eligible, like just for extra protection at times.
- 1:33:16Speaker 6: I don't Yeah, that's I think that's exactly why they
- 1:33:19Speaker 6: would put them out there. I don't think you can
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: do that with Henry or KASICKI. I mean I wouldn't
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: even be, you know, surprised at times if they're up
- 1:33:24Speaker 6: against it and they have to throw the Farrell Brown's
- 1:33:26Speaker 6: just the guy out there blocks, Yeah, because they don't.
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: But they also I think because he's right, the caller's right.
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: They are big. I mean, the Eagles are big, and
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: if you go twelve personnel, that probably keeps the big
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: personnel on the field and that might open up you know,
- 1:33:41Speaker 4: some matchups for you. Yeah.
- 1:33:42Speaker 6: Yeah, no, I think that's I mean, you know, just
- 1:33:44Speaker 6: talking to everybody, it's you know, trying to get to
- 1:33:47Speaker 6: their cornerback depth and trying you know, trying to Like
- 1:33:50Speaker 6: what he said was, I think that's what Bill O'Brien
- 1:33:52Speaker 6: does great, Like, you know, mix the packages guys are
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: in and out, make them keep up with you. Don't
- 1:33:57Speaker 6: let don't let them just line up and tee off on.
- 1:33:59Speaker 6: You be spinning the dial a lot and making them
- 1:34:02Speaker 6: think about motions and our pos and you know, put
- 1:34:05Speaker 6: all that stuff in their heads so that it's not
- 1:34:06Speaker 6: just because if they just rush three four guys and
- 1:34:09Speaker 6: they just are pinning their ears back and trying to
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: you know, test city. So on his handful of snaps,
- 1:34:13Speaker 6: like you know that that could be one play that
- 1:34:15Speaker 6: changes the game.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: Over under too many men on the field penalties for
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: the Patriots.
- 1:34:21Speaker 7: Under Fred.
- 1:34:22Speaker 6: We got to see this goes back to the coaching thing,
- 1:34:24Speaker 6: like let's get back to a well coached team that
- 1:34:26Speaker 6: isn't going to beat itself.
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: Oh wait, no, what you should have said is over
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: under Trent Brown being off side?
- 1:34:30Speaker 7: It's the first pit Like how.
- 1:34:32Speaker 6: Many could we how many do we think can't get
- 1:34:34Speaker 6: a clarification on your over under?
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:34:37Speaker 7: Is it?
- 1:34:38Speaker 4: Does it count? If they have to call time out
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: to avoid it.
- 1:34:41Speaker 7: Yes, yes, it does.
- 1:34:43Speaker 8: No, but that's not technically a penalty.
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: Then under if it's all like if it's one and
- 1:34:49Speaker 4: a half and it counts like they have they got
- 1:34:51Speaker 4: called for twelve men and they had to call a
- 1:34:53Speaker 4: time out to avoid two others, I'll take the older. Okay,
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: how about that, I'll take the under. If it's just
- 1:34:57Speaker 4: a penalty.
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: Once you get called for the penalty, anything after that,
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: even if it's causing you to counts toward it. Once
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: you get the one penalty, everything else then counts. I'm
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: saying over.
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: No, I'm saying under.
- 1:35:12Speaker 7: I'm just and I think like this just speaks to
- 1:35:14Speaker 7: my bigger point.
- 1:35:14Speaker 6: Happened once wanting to get back to what you know,
- 1:35:17Speaker 6: we think this team should be, which you know, like
- 1:35:19Speaker 6: I said, they like last year, it's just the stupid mistakes.
- 1:35:24Speaker 7: In gotta have It moments, given up two kickoff returns.
- 1:35:27Speaker 6: I mean, how many moments could you go through the
- 1:35:29Speaker 6: last two seasons to be like, geez, that's really not
- 1:35:31Speaker 6: what we've come to believe about this team.
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: But that's just kind of way. Somebody on one of
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Paul Show's saying it was a caller actually that said,
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: you know, those plays have now become characteristic. They used
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: to be uncharacteristic of this team, but in the last
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: four years they've become characteristic.
- 1:35:46Speaker 6: I mean, you know that's bad, like the end of
- 1:35:48Speaker 6: the Raiders game like that, Like that's still is like
- 1:35:51Speaker 6: how does this team so I just for me, I
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: think we talked a lot about the matchup all just
- 1:35:57Speaker 6: for them get back to not the stupid mistakes that
- 1:36:01Speaker 6: are avoidable, and I mean, and to be to be
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: fair to them, like didn't seem a lot of that
- 1:36:05Speaker 6: like false start stuff in practice.
- 1:36:07Speaker 7: Get get back in the huddle. You don't know what
- 1:36:08Speaker 7: you're doing. Like they seem like they got it, at
- 1:36:10Speaker 7: least on the offensive side.
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: Of the ball, but it looks a little bit more
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: well run.
- 1:36:14Speaker 6: I just you know, special teams break down stupid stuff
- 1:36:17Speaker 6: in the big moments like those things, Like if they
- 1:36:19Speaker 6: can't get over that stuff, then what are.
- 1:36:21Speaker 7: We even doing?
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: A little over under game from Cody and Indiana Mac
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: Jones passing touchdowns for the season twenty six and a hey, I.
- 1:36:29Speaker 7: Think that's about a good Hey.
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: Uh, I'm gonna say over over, Alex, are you participating?
- 1:36:40Speaker 23: And I just threw a dart and said, under, I
- 1:36:42Speaker 23: think I was thinking those darts under I hate him
- 1:36:46Speaker 23: a number of Patriots with double digit sacks one and
- 1:36:50Speaker 23: a hey, under, I'm.
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: Gonna say over, I'm gonna say a good question.
- 1:36:58Speaker 4: I like the questions that kind of like reveal a
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: lot in your answer, Like last year they had they
- 1:37:02Speaker 4: had too.
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: I'm going to say, over, I think pull it out
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: in the second half of the season, wory that we're.
- 1:37:07Speaker 8: Putting too big of expectations on on them.
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know number of games Paul gives the
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: nod four and a hey.
- 1:37:15Speaker 7: Oh, the old nod of the Patriots showed up.
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: I haven't really give him a nod in about four years.
- 1:37:22Speaker 6: No, this coount as a nod if it's like before
- 1:37:24Speaker 6: the fourth if it's not before like the five minutes
- 1:37:26Speaker 6: in the fourth quarter, like.
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: What's the like maybe the Colts game?
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: What about last year? What about negative nods?
- 1:37:32Speaker 6: Well, Over, I don't think that doesn't That's not how
- 1:37:36Speaker 6: Paul runs though, because they'll always have that like nah,
- 1:37:40Speaker 6: that there'll be like forty to nothing in like the
- 1:37:41Speaker 6: second quarter.
- 1:37:42Speaker 7: But I don't know, though they might.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: They could come back negative nods.
- 1:37:45Speaker 7: He'll go the other way. He'll go the other way.
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: Hunter Henry touchdowns six and a hay over.
- 1:37:50Speaker 7: I think that's I feel good about that.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: I see him getting back to what he was two
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: years ago when he had what fifteen I think, or
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: was it twelve.
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: I'm going to take the under on that. Yeah, Okay,
- 1:38:00Speaker 4: I think KASICKI poaches some from.
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: Zeke rushing yards five hundred under.
- 1:38:07Speaker 7: I'm going to say.
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna say over, but.
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: I think that's bad.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: If it is.
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: I think under that means the other guy didn't have
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: as many as we think.
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: What about protecting the lead at the end, and he, like.
- 1:38:16Speaker 4: Coreyandre Stevenson doing that, I want to get first downs.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: I think he can do it too. Anyway. Weeks Alex
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: is around for Thursday. Picks seven and a hey, good.
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: Number, good number. Over Oh declaration, Well, she controls it,
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: so I'm going to say over.
- 1:38:35Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, he picks. Is she gonna make?
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: I don't quite understand this email. Yemmy in Texas says,
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: you know about this is about the third quarterback loophole.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: A loophole that the Saints exploited was to move Taysom
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: Hill from tight end to quarterback. Then they can designate
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: Jamis Winston as the emergency quarterback, which will allow them
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: to have an extra player on the game day roster.
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: You can't do that.
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: I don't understand how that.
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: Yeah, that means Jameis Winston wouldn't be able to play. Yeah,
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: so if he's your backup quarterback, that's not a good loophole. Now,
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: in that case, Taysom Hill is capable of playing quarterback. Right.
- 1:39:10Speaker 4: So in other words, Malie Cunningham, you don't want playing quarterback, right.
- 1:39:14Speaker 23: I don't.
- 1:39:15Speaker 4: So that's not a good loophole.
- 1:39:18Speaker 7: Bad looper.
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: Let's see. Let's see. David says, three games to glory
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: shout out for my favorite Brady memory before the Atlanta
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: Falcons Super Bowl, I put on three games to glory
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: four rewatching Brady and the Patriots go for the fourth
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: Super Bowl after ten years drought. Two defeats of the Giants,
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: coming back from two touchdowns twice against the number one
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: defense is a core Brady memory and added to the
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: rollercoaster of emotion on the day of a twenty eight
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: to three comeback. What are we talking about? I don't know,
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: Awsome If you have.
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: To miss Dame, Yeah, Okay, if you have.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: To say today, will Bill Belichick be the general manager
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: for the Patriots next year?
- 1:40:01Speaker 4: I say today, I said yes he will.
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: Yeah, based off the offensive weapons the last few years.
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: Here's hoping he's not. It's is the deficiencies in the
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: offensive line and lack of top end talent at wide
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: receiver because Bill believes it's more scheme than talent.
- 1:40:17Speaker 6: I don't know about what he believes. I just think
- 1:40:18Speaker 6: they missed on the draft picks and those positions. And
- 1:40:21Speaker 6: I mean I saw somebody post like offensive players. Since
- 1:40:23Speaker 6: twenty twelve, they have gotten a second contract with the paper.
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: First three rounds. Three rounds, I have like three guys.
- 1:40:30Speaker 7: Good that that right there, And that's what that's the problem.
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: See, I think, like I'm fine with Bill still having
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: complete control, but I want that guy in the role
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: of mac Grow, whether it's Macro or somebody else, to
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: be really smart so that when he gives Bill Belichick information,
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: Bill says, okay, because A I trust you, but be
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: that's a really good decision, that's really good scouting.
- 1:40:57Speaker 4: If Bill is the coach, then I want him in charge. Yeah,
- 1:41:01Speaker 4: I would think that's the way I.
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: Want Bill to be in charge, no doubt. But I
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: also want Matt Grow to have, you know, the confidence
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: of Bill, so that when Mac Grow says, no, we
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: we did the scouting. This guy is the guy we
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: should pick. We should pick, Bill listens to him.
- 1:41:18Speaker 3: That's what I'm feel like is not happening though, I
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: don't know, Like I feel like there's no way that
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: I see Matt Grow in them saying Cold Strange, that's
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: our guy.
- 1:41:29Speaker 4: Oh, everybody gave him credit for it. Like I'm especially
- 1:41:32Speaker 4: that that was the fast draft.
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that early.
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: I was really confused about it. It's like, sure, you
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: like Cold Strange, but that picked that round.
- 1:41:40Speaker 4: Like, I just see, I think it's always been Bill,
- 1:41:42Speaker 4: But wasn't that considered the Matt grow draft? I want
- 1:41:46Speaker 4: across the board?
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it was Cole Strange, Taekwon, Thornton, Marcus Jones, Pierre Strong,
- 1:41:51Speaker 4: you know all these fast guys. Now that draft is, uh,
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: you don't hear that as much. You don't hear about
- 1:41:56Speaker 4: that as much anymore. Now it's Bill's fault.
- 1:41:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, whoever's fault it is that that draft
- 1:42:01Speaker 6: class right now has has a lot of work to
- 1:42:03Speaker 6: do to turn around. And I mean It's another one
- 1:42:05Speaker 6: that you know, pilot right there with seventeen eighteen, nineteen
- 1:42:08Speaker 6: bad drafts at the bat at the absolute worst time,
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: and I hope that that draft can still turn it around.
- 1:42:13Speaker 6: I meantime, you know, everybody everybody got you know, I
- 1:42:16Speaker 6: think fired up when when Macro said all those things
- 1:42:18Speaker 6: about speed, and I think we were all in the
- 1:42:19Speaker 6: same page of you know, needing the offense to be
- 1:42:22Speaker 6: more explosive coming off you know, nineteen twenty when they
- 1:42:24Speaker 6: just had nobody they could move. But right now it's
- 1:42:29Speaker 6: it's hard not to, you know, talk about Macro and
- 1:42:31Speaker 6: that regime and feel like, well, they have a draft
- 1:42:34Speaker 6: of their own that was kind of you know, right
- 1:42:37Speaker 6: now doesn't look so hot, so it sound effect.
- 1:42:39Speaker 7: This kind of folks are, Yeah, it's kind of a
- 1:42:41Speaker 7: Foxer draft.
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: Cole writes in he says he used to be from Eugene, Oregon,
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: but moved to Denver, Colorado. That's great, It's still be
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: f one. Why did the Patriots leak it to Mike Reese?
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: That and when you could play right tackle? Does this
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: mean he won't play right tackle?
- 1:42:59Speaker 7: Did they do that?
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: Did they leak something to Mike Reese?
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: Not that I'm aware of, not that I'm aware of,
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: but that's funny to think that it's like, you know,
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: the other way around.
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: We were the ones.
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: Well we were talking about Reese wrote it on Sunday
- 1:43:11Speaker 4: absolutely about when you I don't know that there.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: Was Lee, but we were talking about it last week
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: that it's a possibility. Yeah, yeah, Well nobody leaked it
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: to it.
- 1:43:19Speaker 4: In fairness, it's been a widespread thought once camp started
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: and it was apparent they didn't have any right tax
- 1:43:27Speaker 4: and everybody remembers how well he too.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: How much will White and Gonzo play on Sunday? Do
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: you think either we'll have a highlight play Keon White
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: or Gonzales.
- 1:43:36Speaker 7: I think it's also play every snap unless he gets benched.
- 1:43:39Speaker 4: I agree. I think he could go wire to.
- 1:43:41Speaker 6: Wire, rotational, you know, probably some some subpass rush words, kind.
- 1:43:46Speaker 4: Of think of White and Mapu similar, maybe White with
- 1:43:49Speaker 4: a little bit more of a role.
- 1:43:50Speaker 7: I totally agree.
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: I will take the fifteen yards if I can see
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: key On White get in the backfield, pick up Jalen
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: Hurds to just throw them ten yards.
- 1:43:58Speaker 4: We're going to you'll still complain about call.
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: We're going to see he was doing that just now
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: reminded me of the blind Side when Michael or picks
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: a guy up and walks him like all the way
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: to the bus and they're like, where are you going?
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: That's what I just thought of on YouTube.
- 1:44:11Speaker 6: That's just how key On White like goes stand in
- 1:44:13Speaker 6: front of the Eagles bus like he's not gonna play
- 1:44:15Speaker 6: in the game, He's just gonna stand in the bus
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: when they get off and try to like counter somebody because.
- 1:44:18Speaker 7: They get a lot of those guys too, like so scared.
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: Did you see what do you see the pictures he
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: posted on Instagram like have we ever seen him smile?
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: I have?
- 1:44:28Speaker 7: I cracked him.
- 1:44:29Speaker 9: It was like a little smirk, like kind of just
- 1:44:31Speaker 9: like you're walking by someone in the hallway and just
- 1:44:34Speaker 9: like little nod with the smirk.
- 1:44:36Speaker 7: Yeah, a little SMIRKD.
- 1:44:38Speaker 8: He's scared and see any teeth. He's scary, Like not
- 1:44:41Speaker 8: in the smirk.
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: I feel like that him at the draft is just
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: going to be all over the internet this weekend.
- 1:44:46Speaker 8: So he's scary.
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: He is scary.
- 1:44:49Speaker 8: He's scared if you're playing against him.
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: That the first day I met him, I said, so,
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: the scouting on you is that you're smart, and you're tough,
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: and he's like, all true, shut your face. I love him.
- 1:44:59Speaker 7: I think, get out of my I love.
- 1:45:02Speaker 8: Everything about that.
- 1:45:04Speaker 4: Uh three.
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: How does this being the thank You Tom game impact
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: the performance of the Patriots?
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: I was right.
- 1:45:12Speaker 7: I don't think it has much of a I don't either.
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, they're going to be in in
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: the locker room when all this is happening.
- 1:45:18Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, I mean I think it'll help the
- 1:45:20Speaker 6: energy in the building and everybody will be pretty fired up,
- 1:45:22Speaker 6: but you know, it's the first game of the season.
- 1:45:24Speaker 7: Everybody should be anyway.
- 1:45:26Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:45:26Speaker 8: I mean, in some ways, there's no way to demoralizing
- 1:45:30Speaker 8: to go out there and just get there.
- 1:45:31Speaker 6: Yeah, And that's and that's why in some ways I
- 1:45:33Speaker 6: feel like Bill almost like and I'm not the like
- 1:45:36Speaker 6: I wasn't expecting Bill to shoot down Brady questions, but
- 1:45:39Speaker 6: you know, he's kind of like glowing in his response,
- 1:45:40Speaker 6: and like, I feel like he hates this because this
- 1:45:42Speaker 6: is like a whole side show that's going on that
- 1:45:45Speaker 6: you know is going to be mentioned and talked about,
- 1:45:46Speaker 6: and we're going to be in the locker room asking
- 1:45:48Speaker 6: people about Tom Brady and stuff, and you know, it's
- 1:45:50Speaker 6: kind of overshadowing the game a little bit, and so
- 1:45:52Speaker 6: some part of me almost wonders if that's, you know,
- 1:45:54Speaker 6: a bad thing that you kind of have his well,
- 1:45:57Speaker 6: from Bill's perspective, talk about that then, yeah, EXAs and
- 1:46:01Speaker 6: O's that you just asked to sort of.
- 1:46:04Speaker 7: What have you seen from Calvin Anderson?
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: Do you like those talk about Andre?
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: Curious?
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: Curious Andre from New Jersey? Listen, I get your concerns
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: about uh well used to be not Oh god, this
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: is English these people with their writing. But other than that,
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: Conduce and Evan lighting up on the negatives this season
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: really even start yet there were shots at Juju for
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: some reason. They mentioned Harry in the conversation, calling the
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: defense old and slow. We might not see Mapu this year.
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: We're going to be roadkill if we don't get the
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: eagles and third down situations and the worst of it.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: We're easy to defend. If I hear that one if
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: I if I hear that one more time from boss Man,
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: I might just shut my ears up. Please positive energy.
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: I'm with Anthony from Seattle twelve and Baby heading to
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: the playoffs but losing the divisional round unfortunately.
- 1:47:04Speaker 4: Oh god, you're all possible. Wow, they have one of
- 1:47:07Speaker 4: the best teams in the league. They're gonna get upset
- 1:47:09Speaker 4: in the playoffs, is all right? Great?
- 1:47:12Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:47:13Speaker 6: That's what we saw this summer from Juju and those
- 1:47:15Speaker 6: are observations. I mean, I certainly feel good about things.
- 1:47:18Speaker 6: I feel good about some players, But like I said,
- 1:47:20Speaker 6: it's been three seasons of five hundred football.
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: So you know, what do you want me to do?
- 1:47:24Speaker 7: Just sing from the heavens it's all going to be great.
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: I want you to backtrack and say I miss Tom Brady.
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: I want you to admit that you miss Tom Brady,
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: and then you wish to stay here. Even if they
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: got twelve and five, you wish they.
- 1:47:37Speaker 7: Suld Well, what if they had? Uh what I mean,
- 1:47:40Speaker 7: I don't discussion are they really going to play this?
- 1:47:44Speaker 9: In the discussion at the eleven o'clock meeting that you
- 1:47:47Speaker 9: were going to do a live a cappella version actually
- 1:47:49Speaker 9: on the field.
- 1:47:50Speaker 7: I don't warm up, but I mean I'm down, I'm down.
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: I'm totally that would be something if they did play then.
- 1:47:55Speaker 7: And now welcome Mike Dessault with a musical arrangement for Tom.
- 1:48:01Speaker 8: You give us permission, the licensing right for that.
- 1:48:04Speaker 7: You probably have to talk to Poison about that. Let's
- 1:48:06Speaker 7: we'll see.
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: Zach and Pennsylvania really like the move to video. Been
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: in favorite all the way, favor of it up to four.
- 1:48:14Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: By the way, Alex, you're looking good even without the makeup.
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: Paul care dial a little bit, bro.
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: He says, Paul could use the touch up.
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: I'm hundred years old either. I don't want to be
- 1:48:28Speaker 4: on Campbell.
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: It is what it is. Ford in Savannah, Georgia. You've
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: been in Savannah? No, great, great little city, lovely Savannahligia. Yeah,
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: I don't think I have beautiful.
- 1:48:42Speaker 8: Really cute, quaint right, it's really nice.
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: Yeah. We used to go when we go to Florida,
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: it'd always stop in Savannah and we go to the
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: Pirate's House restaurant. I think it's still there there.
- 1:48:51Speaker 7: What do they got.
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: It's like supposedly it used to be a pirate hangout
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: and they turned it into this restaurant.
- 1:48:56Speaker 8: The trio of Savannah, Charleston and Hildenhead.
- 1:48:59Speaker 4: Is just like Charleston.
- 1:49:00Speaker 8: I would retire there.
- 1:49:01Speaker 4: And be very nice. Charleston very nice.
- 1:49:03Speaker 7: Never lived that lifetime loser used to be there.
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: Uh Ford says, you guys and gals are the best.
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: Thank you for all you do. What John Cougar Mellencamp song,
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: won't Patriots fans be listening to this week? Not little
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: kind of a riddle. You have to know his catalog.
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: I guess right, so good, hurts so good, Paul very good?
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: Yeah good prediction. Patriots squeak a w on a game
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: winning field goal in Brady's honor twenty four to twenty one.
- 1:49:32Speaker 7: And Brady's holding Who's.
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing if they are gonna win, that's
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: kind of has to be what the score would be, right, Yeah,
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: you have to hold these guys to forty one?
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: Would you guys? Have no faith?
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: Now?
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: No faith? I have faith in the defense.
- 1:49:48Speaker 4: I think if you're going to win, you go out
- 1:49:50Speaker 4: and outscore them. So you don't have to just keep
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: winning one way. We know they can do that.
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: What's more likely the defense rises up or the offense
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: scores in the thirty.
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: I think in this game the offense, because I think
- 1:50:01Speaker 4: the Eagles defense isn't as good as the offense.
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: I needed someone to mean that.
- 1:50:06Speaker 4: I'm being serious. I think the Eagle, the Eagles defense
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: is not this shutdown unit. You should be able to
- 1:50:12Speaker 4: move the ball and score some points.
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: Oh okay, here's the setup. If the Patriots scored thirty points, Wow,
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: the Eagles defenses no, no, no, this is what we're
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: preparing for.
- 1:50:22Speaker 4: How many of the Eagles have thirty points?
- 1:50:24Speaker 7: I'll take it.
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: Huh.
- 1:50:25Speaker 4: If the Patriots score thirty points, how many of the Eagles.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: Have I'm just saying that the Patriots offense looks good.
- 1:50:30Speaker 4: No, listen, Fred, Eagles defense is no good. You're embarrassing
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: yourself and stop for that's what happens. That's the Eagles time.
- 1:50:36Speaker 4: The Eagles had one of the best defenses in football
- 1:50:39Speaker 4: last year, but this year they won't be good. They
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: have some holes. And we had a caller or an
- 1:50:44Speaker 4: email or about a half hour ago it talked about
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: they've lost the middle of their defense. They had no
- 1:50:50Speaker 4: nose tackle last year. They replaced him with a second
- 1:50:52Speaker 4: year guy who didn't play much in Jordan Davis. They
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: had linebackers TJ. Edwards left and now they have Nikobe
- 1:50:59Speaker 4: d who's never played, stepping in their safeties with CJ.
- 1:51:03Speaker 4: Gardner Johnson and some other guy whose name is scapes me.
- 1:51:06Speaker 4: They're gone they're replacing them with an undrafted free agent
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: in year two who played five games last year and
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: read Blankenship, there's some holes in the middle of the
- 1:51:16Speaker 4: defense that this might not be the same defense that
- 1:51:19Speaker 4: was last year. Now, if they are, you know, we'll see.
- 1:51:24Speaker 4: But I don't think this is a team that you
- 1:51:26Speaker 4: should go in and say we have to win seventeen
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: thirteen or twenty one seventeen. We can't win any other way.
- 1:51:31Speaker 4: I know they can win that way. That's the only
- 1:51:33Speaker 4: way they've won games the last three years. If I'm
- 1:51:36Speaker 4: going to get excited about something, it's gonna be winning differently,
- 1:51:40Speaker 4: and that means going out and scoring points against a
- 1:51:42Speaker 4: good team.
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: I just don't think in Week one we're going to
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: score in the thirties, you know. I just don't think
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: we're ready yet.
- 1:51:49Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:51:50Speaker 6: I don't share your pessimism about that though. I mean,
- 1:51:52Speaker 6: I really just leave the door open a little bit,
- 1:51:54Speaker 6: like I mean, just for week one, I don't know.
- 1:51:56Speaker 6: I mean, Bill O'Brien a lot of different pieces to
- 1:51:59Speaker 6: work with. None are you know, going to shock the world.
- 1:52:01Speaker 6: But I think that they've got some good pieces.
- 1:52:03Speaker 4: By predicting it, No, but I could see it. I
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: can see what Mike is talking about.
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: I mean we get like where were you know, we
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: have high hopes for Pop Douglas, but like we have
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: no idea how he's gonna be.
- 1:52:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, if you're gonna tell me it's going
- 1:52:15Speaker 4: to require that, then I'm gonna guys that I think
- 1:52:18Speaker 4: they could run the ball.
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: Like right now, I would say the guy I have
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: the most confidence in right now is Kendrick Bourne.
- 1:52:24Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, Okay, and like.
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: Parker didn't play much during the preseason. There's a lot
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: of like question marks on offense that I think on
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: defense we have a little bit more certain.
- 1:52:40Speaker 4: But none of those guys played a lot in the preseason.
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: So you're not going off anything you saw this year.
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: I know. But you know, offense requires timing and you know,
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: working together and all that stuff, and we just didn't
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: get a lot of it this preseason. I just don't.
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: I think it's gonna take a little time, is what
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: I'm saying. Okay, you know, I'm not saying that.
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: I'm not saying they can't get there.
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: I'm just saying it's gonna take a little time.
- 1:53:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I think if I'm more with Mike. I think
- 1:53:04Speaker 4: if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen earlier. When you're
- 1:53:06Speaker 4: catching teams by surprise, at least a.
- 1:53:08Speaker 7: Spark, you know, you know, I mean it's a pause point.
- 1:53:10Speaker 6: Maybe it's you know, you got little Nikobe Dean getting
- 1:53:12Speaker 6: dragged down the field.
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: They if they score twenty four points and they're all
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: offensive points, I'll be happy with that as long as
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: we can keep them twenty.
- 1:53:21Speaker 7: One twenty four. Now, I I don't know.
- 1:53:27Speaker 6: I just I think that there's enough newness with between
- 1:53:29Speaker 6: Bill O'Brien and Gasicki and Elliott and a couple of
- 1:53:32Speaker 6: the rookies and you know, Kendrick Bourne looking juvenated, and
- 1:53:36Speaker 6: you know, there's there's a little something there. But like
- 1:53:38Speaker 6: we haven't seen anything. We're talking a lot about three
- 1:53:41Speaker 6: drives and that wasn't even really the full the.
- 1:53:43Speaker 4: New coordinators for Philadelphia, there's a lot of newness there.
- 1:53:45Speaker 4: You don't know exactly what Brian Johnson is going to do,
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: Sean decide is that a Loby promis his name? Decide.
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: We don't know.
- 1:53:53Speaker 4: Exactly what they're going to be, So there's some element
- 1:53:55Speaker 4: of surprise. Well they don't know exactly what the Patriots
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: offense is going to be either, well, that's a good
- 1:53:58Speaker 4: that is true, you know. I think again, I'm not
- 1:54:01Speaker 4: necessarily predicting it. I think Philadelphia is a better team.
- 1:54:04Speaker 4: But I understand what Mike is talking about. I could
- 1:54:07Speaker 4: see all of a sudden, well, they really catch them
- 1:54:09Speaker 4: off guard with these RPOs.
- 1:54:11Speaker 7: And it's like pace and they're just like play, you know.
- 1:54:13Speaker 4: And then when they sort of bike a couple of
- 1:54:15Speaker 4: players in the passing game, here comes Romandre and they
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: I could certainly see some of that.
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: Listen from your mouth to God's ear.
- 1:54:23Speaker 4: But I think that's what it's going to require to
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: win the game. I don't think you can just rely
- 1:54:27Speaker 4: on the other team having a bad game or you
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: shutting them down.
- 1:54:29Speaker 6: Well that's the thing, Paul, that's just like you just
- 1:54:31Speaker 6: don't want to receeven un full where it's like here
- 1:54:34Speaker 6: we are again on this narrow path where if it
- 1:54:36Speaker 6: all goes great and it goes like that Green Bay
- 1:54:38Speaker 6: game started off, where you get a force fumble, you
- 1:54:40Speaker 6: you get you have eighteen yard touchdown drive like you
- 1:54:43Speaker 6: know with a penalty, like you know, it all lines
- 1:54:44Speaker 6: up great, We're rolling.
- 1:54:45Speaker 7: This is the kind of game they win, Like you
- 1:54:47Speaker 7: want to see those games they're not supposed to win
- 1:54:48Speaker 7: that we haven't seen them win in.
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: The last few years where they're not in a different way,
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: like you know, not only being a good team, but
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: this week, I don't.
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: No, No, I understand Fred, but none of us is
- 1:54:58Speaker 4: going to sit there and say, well they twenty one seventeen.
- 1:55:01Speaker 4: But man, that's stocking. No, I mean you win, you win.
- 1:55:03Speaker 4: I mean that's a huge win. I don't think a
- 1:55:05Speaker 4: lot of people are predicting. Some are, but I don't
- 1:55:07Speaker 4: think a lot are predicting a win in this game.
- 1:55:10Speaker 4: But if you ask me, how would they win to
- 1:55:13Speaker 4: make me feel the best, it would be winning differently,
- 1:55:16Speaker 4: Like the defense doesn't have to do that, doesn't have
- 1:55:18Speaker 4: to score, They don't have to score, they don't have
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: to keep them in the game. The offense did that
- 1:55:22Speaker 4: for you.
- 1:55:22Speaker 7: Yeah, you gave up twenty points. That is what it
- 1:55:24Speaker 7: is a good offense. You know, it didn't matter.
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: You know, maybe he won the game thirty one twenty seven. Yeah,
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: I think that would be awesome.
- 1:55:30Speaker 7: It's a real game. Yeah. Uh.
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: Colin in Kansas City, in the spirit of being a
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: fan who's optimistic or hopeful for this season. Side note,
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: sorry to hear Deuce say recently he used to be
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: a fan. I'm wondering if Bill's team, why don't you.
- 1:55:46Speaker 7: Jump off the Bandwell, I I think I was talking
- 1:55:49Speaker 7: to when I was a fan before my job.
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: I'm wondering if Bill's team building strategy could actually work.
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: I really hope he proves us wrong. I hope they're
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: gonna be surprisingly punchy and beat some good team teams
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: with solid defense and clean offense, even if it's not
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: explosive and star studded. Can you imagine a best case
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: scenario in which Bill's team building strategy works and the
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: team actually has a winning record makes the playoffs in
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: his competitive Is it possible this approach works? What needs
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: to happen for it to work?
- 1:56:18Speaker 4: Yeah, Mac Jones has to make a leap.
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: Into everybody does their job.
- 1:56:23Speaker 4: Mac Jones needs to make a jump into an elite quarterback.
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: Stat that's it.
- 1:56:27Speaker 6: Getting them into the right plays, the right protections a
- 1:56:30Speaker 6: day in, day out, gets the ball out to the
- 1:56:32Speaker 6: right guy quick. You know, it doesn't even have to
- 1:56:34Speaker 6: be a super special impossible throws. Just making good decisions,
- 1:56:39Speaker 6: not making the stupid mistakes and keeping them competitive.
- 1:56:41Speaker 7: When it's all on the line. That's what Mike has
- 1:56:43Speaker 7: to prove. That's what we're waiting on.
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: Mac like, yeah, But the most important question that Colin
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: has is what kind of clubs did Hardy give Paul.
- 1:56:50Speaker 7: He knows now he found them.
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: He took him out with I know, callaway, he gave
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: a callaway irons. I mean fancy white PELOI yeah, yeah, no,
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: real nice and Paul, you told me that you use them, and.
- 1:57:05Speaker 7: I'm back, babe, amazing by himself.
- 1:57:09Speaker 4: X rs.
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: I think, yeah, that's that's that's And he just throws
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: three of clubs. I mean, you're in good shape when
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: you can just throw away a set of irons, right, you.
- 1:57:19Speaker 7: Know in an improved balls game?
- 1:57:21Speaker 4: Uh, immensely. I played like I've actually had a club
- 1:57:24Speaker 4: in my hands before yesterday. I was a big improvement
- 1:57:28Speaker 4: over the previous five.
- 1:57:29Speaker 8: I wish we had a golf tournament.
- 1:57:31Speaker 4: We have done that and bring it.
- 1:57:33Speaker 8: There's a lot of a lot more players golf.
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: Now, let's let's players. Let's make it.
- 1:57:37Speaker 4: Oh you're talking about the player you met us, We've
- 1:57:41Speaker 4: had one before.
- 1:57:43Speaker 8: I'm telling you about like a lot of teams golf tournament.
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: Oh for the foundation.
- 1:57:48Speaker 4: The Patriots used to do that. They don't.
- 1:57:49Speaker 8: But not enough guys played golf, according that's what Stacey
- 1:57:52Speaker 8: told me.
- 1:57:53Speaker 4: But every everybody played though. Yeah it was required, yeah,
- 1:57:57Speaker 4: but it wasn't fun.
- 1:57:59Speaker 8: Well, the guys that play golf, they can sign up
- 1:58:01Speaker 8: to do it. You can get alumni in the mix,
- 1:58:03Speaker 8: you can get media.
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: In the mix.
- 1:58:04Speaker 7: The cart man.
- 1:58:06Speaker 8: I used to be a cart girl. Best job I
- 1:58:08Speaker 8: ever had until this one.
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: Hell selling beer on a cart.
- 1:58:12Speaker 7: Hell.
- 1:58:12Speaker 4: Yes, So before you saw can I just ask you
- 1:58:18Speaker 4: how creepy was it? Because I could just imagine, Like,
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: so all I do, like every single time I'm in
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: one of those tournaments, hold driver, the cart girl comes up.
- 1:58:31Speaker 8: Oh, I love to whole them.
- 1:58:32Speaker 4: All I think about is.
- 1:58:35Speaker 9: They'd be like, oh, you're gonna you're gonna do this
- 1:58:37Speaker 9: drive and it's like, oh, I bet you I could
- 1:58:39Speaker 9: reach the fairway twenty bucks.
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: And you're a good golfer, decent. Oh yeah, what's your handicap?
- 1:58:45Speaker 8: I don't have the handicap, but like I can break
- 1:58:47Speaker 8: a hundred, that's really good. If you're broken ninety five, Listen.
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: If you can break a hundred and you're not losing balls.
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: You can golf with anyone.
- 1:58:54Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and you can do that.
- 1:58:56Speaker 9: Like most of the women are just like, I don't
- 1:58:59Speaker 9: know what it is about getting They think that everyone
- 1:59:02Speaker 9: that goes and plays golf is good. But the reality
- 1:59:05Speaker 9: is I started playing and I'm like, Wow, all my
- 1:59:06Speaker 9: guy friends really suck too.
- 1:59:08Speaker 8: I'm actually better than that. Just getting over the embarrassment.
- 1:59:12Speaker 4: But just so you know, guys think like that too,
- 1:59:14Speaker 4: Guys that like I automatically would assume if I haven't
- 1:59:18Speaker 4: played with you that they're way better than me. That
- 1:59:21Speaker 4: would be my assumption. Then you go out and play
- 1:59:23Speaker 4: and you realize, yeah.
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: The big thing about golf is you don't want to
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: go out there and make a fool you right, hold people,
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: Hold people.
- 1:59:29Speaker 6: Yeah, you're the pain in the ass that you're like
- 1:59:30Speaker 6: everyone's waiting on the green and you're in the woods.
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: Everyone's waiting on you all the time.
- 1:59:34Speaker 3: And I feeling bowling.
- 1:59:38Speaker 8: How much time can you your approach?
- 1:59:41Speaker 4: I don't remember the last time I went bowling.
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: The thing about bowling is you're not holding anyone up.
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: You take you take your shot, and then you go
- 1:59:48Speaker 1: sit down.
- 1:59:49Speaker 4: Autoco, get candlepins, regular you be candle no candle It's
- 1:59:58Speaker 4: like a New England.
- 1:59:59Speaker 7: It will change your life.
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: Rhode Island has a thing called duck pins. Do you
- 2:00:02Speaker 1: ever hear those?
- 2:00:03Speaker 4: What's happening?
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: Is there? Ten pin? It's ten pin, but the pins
- 2:00:07Speaker 1: are the same shape as the big pins, but they're small,
- 2:00:10Speaker 1: So it's called duck pins and it's a small ball.
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: That's only a Road Island thing.
- 2:00:16Speaker 9: But Mookie Bets came back and was like, yeah, the
- 2:00:18Speaker 9: one thing I'm really looking forward to is seeing my
- 2:00:20Speaker 9: bowling friends and.
- 2:00:21Speaker 8: He like went bowling with them.
- 2:00:23Speaker 4: Did he do candlepins?
- 2:00:25Speaker 8: Candlepins specifically?
- 2:00:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I did.
- 2:00:27Speaker 8: I did not.
- 2:00:28Speaker 7: Candlepin didn't exist everywhere.
- 2:00:29Speaker 6: And my in laws were like, this is so much
- 2:00:31Speaker 6: more fun than trying to lug a thirty pound ball
- 2:00:33Speaker 6: and like roll it down.
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it's hard though to get it to get a
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: high score, Like you whip it down there and like
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: one pin goes the handle pin. Yeah, candle pick.
- 2:00:45Speaker 4: We used to play a lot when there was used
- 2:00:46Speaker 4: to be a million bowling alleys everywhere.
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: Yeah, there all the way all right. As you can see.
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: We went to the end of the show. Do I
