- 1:30Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:34Speaker 1: at ji Lets Stadium, and oh god, whoa, it's a
- 1:37Speaker 1: tough Tuesday. It's a tough tuesday. I did not expect that. Obviously.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I predicted. I thought Patriots win twenty seven and nothing
- 1:51Speaker 1: could have been further from the truth. I mean, that
- 1:54Speaker 1: was that was you know, you're really bad when you
- 1:57Speaker 1: become another team's get right game. You know, we became
- 2:02Speaker 1: the Cowboys get right game. You know, they lost to
- 2:05Speaker 1: the Cardinals and they got right against us. And that's
- 2:09Speaker 1: what we used to do. Like we'd have a bad
- 2:11Speaker 1: game and some team would come in and we'd get
- 2:13Speaker 1: right against them. That's what we were.
- 2:15Speaker 5: We know, how many people think the Saints are.
- 2:17Speaker 1: They get right game for the paper for us, I
- 2:20Speaker 1: don't see how you can believe that, you know it.
- 2:23Speaker 1: To me, it's like another one where it can go
- 2:27Speaker 1: either way.
- 2:27Speaker 10: Yeah, absolutely, you know it was.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Bad and you know what the worst part of the
- 2:32Speaker 1: game was losing Judon and Gonzales. You lost arguably your
- 2:38Speaker 1: two best players offense or defense.
- 2:40Speaker 9: And I mean that's just scratch on the surface of it,
- 2:42Speaker 9: which is ridiculous, But I mean Judon is like press conferences,
- 2:46Speaker 9: front and center, bring some entertainment, bring some life and
- 2:49Speaker 9: personality to this team. And Gonzalez was you know, has
- 2:52Speaker 9: been a star through these first three and change that
- 2:54Speaker 9: he played. You talk about just a need for playmakers
- 2:57Speaker 9: on this team, and you just lost arguably two of
- 3:01Speaker 9: your biggest playmakers, if not the two biggest playmakers on defense,
- 3:04Speaker 9: which we're all talking about the offense and Mac and
- 3:07Speaker 9: how are we gonna go going forward. It's like, you know,
- 3:09Speaker 9: even if they escape that game with a win and
- 3:11Speaker 9: you came out losing those two guys, it would probably
- 3:15Speaker 9: be just as bad as if you had lost this game,
- 3:17Speaker 9: you know, So I'm not sure how they overcome those losses.
- 3:21Speaker 10: It's gonna be a big, big blows.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I mean, the only saving grace maybe is if Jonathan
- 3:25Speaker 1: Jones and Jack Jones comes back and you get a
- 3:28Speaker 1: little bit more depth in the backfield.
- 3:29Speaker 13: But still, yeah, you know, I feel like the injuries
- 3:33Speaker 13: are turning into like a CBS receipt and hopefully you
- 3:35Speaker 13: guys are going digital at CBS now. But I will say,
- 3:39Speaker 13: I'm just it kind of sucks. I feel like the
- 3:41Speaker 13: defense has bailed this offense out or given the offense,
- 3:43Speaker 13: you know, ample opportunities and without them, and when you're
- 3:46Speaker 13: already out all the Joneses and to add those two
- 3:49Speaker 13: on the list is kind of a bit.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, we know that if the Patriots are going to
- 3:52Speaker 1: be at all competitive this season, from the evidence that
- 3:55Speaker 1: we have now, it would be up to the defense.
- 3:57Speaker 9: Yeah, and especially Gonzales and Matthew Judon to the way.
- 4:02Speaker 3: That's why that was the worst part, because you can listen,
- 4:05Speaker 3: it was a bad performance.
- 4:06Speaker 5: We're not going to spend two hours sugarcoating it.
- 4:08Speaker 3: But you can blow off a bad game as a
- 4:10Speaker 3: bad game, you know, like that's not you know, Bill
- 4:13Speaker 3: said after the game, I don't think we played you know,
- 4:14Speaker 3: our play today was indicative of what we are and
- 4:17Speaker 3: I would largely agree with that. That was by far
- 4:19Speaker 3: the worst I've seen them play. But to lose those
- 4:22Speaker 3: two guys, and we should probably update people. There are
- 4:25Speaker 3: reports now, you know, Adam Schefter, Tom Pellisero a lot
- 4:28Speaker 3: of guys. Judon is expected to undergo surgery tomorrow for
- 4:32Speaker 3: the torn biceps, so Chefter sort of alluded to the
- 4:37Speaker 3: fact that he's holding out hope. Judon is holding out
- 4:39Speaker 3: hope that he might be able to return, but it's
- 4:41Speaker 3: two months minimum, and you know to what will would
- 4:45Speaker 3: he be returning, you know, So in any regard, he's
- 4:49Speaker 3: out for a while. He's not going to be part
- 4:51Speaker 3: of your solution to get back into this this race
- 4:56Speaker 3: and Gonzales. I haven't seen any definitive report, but I've
- 5:02Speaker 3: read that it's a ton labor for him, which is
- 5:06Speaker 3: similar to what Marcus Jones is dealing with. So he's
- 5:09Speaker 3: gonna be out for a while, if not the entire
- 5:11Speaker 3: season as well. A lot of guys are eligible to
- 5:16Speaker 3: return from from I R I. You know, it certainly
- 5:18Speaker 3: seems like Taekwon Thoughton will be one of them based on.
- 5:22Speaker 5: His Instagram. Was an instagram that he had yesterday.
- 5:25Speaker 10: I think it was on the Graham You sure it wasn't.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Uh, it wasn't.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Threads Gallos humor.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I like it. My good job, good job, but you know,
- 5:36Speaker 1: I have to be transparent while this is all transpiring
- 5:40Speaker 1: during the game, I have to admit I was thinking,
- 5:42Speaker 1: all right, don't win anymore, let's let's get let's get
- 5:46Speaker 1: into the top pick race.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Did you just say that?
- 5:50Speaker 11: No, I mean, I'm just coming from you.
- 5:52Speaker 5: That is just no jarring Evan and I just I'm
- 5:54Speaker 5: not saying.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I'm not saying you don't stop trying, you don't stop frustrated.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Within the game, you mean, yeah, but during the game,
- 6:00Speaker 1: you're like, Okay, well, what's the point now, Like Paul said, Okay,
- 6:03Speaker 1: so maybe Judi can come back in December or Zales
- 6:06Speaker 1: can come back in late November to what Yah?
- 6:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know about Gonzales.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Is just yeah, just I'm saying maybe, I don't know.
- 6:14Speaker 5: I think there, I think he's out for the year.
- 6:16Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, the crazy thing to me is just
- 6:18Speaker 9: that we've only played four games, so it's thirteen games,
- 6:20Speaker 9: like this season hasn't even really started that much yet,
- 6:22Speaker 9: you know you still.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I don't know, still still, I'm only kidding, but I
- 6:30Speaker 1: don't know how. But what this like, how how do
- 6:33Speaker 1: you even get to five hundred?
- 6:34Speaker 8: Right?
- 6:34Speaker 13: The only way you get to five hundred at this
- 6:36Speaker 13: point is if you miraculously are playing the team without
- 6:40Speaker 13: their best player or best players one.
- 6:43Speaker 1: But they're playing us without our best player.
- 6:46Speaker 10: Too, right, and that changes it. That changes it for me.
- 6:49Speaker 13: It's like Matisa and I were looking at the rest
- 6:52Speaker 13: of the schedule yesterday and we were like, you still
- 6:55Speaker 13: have to play the Bills twice.
- 6:56Speaker 11: You still have to play the Dolphins.
- 6:57Speaker 13: You still have to There's so many people that you.
- 6:58Speaker 1: See the cheap Chiefs.
- 7:00Speaker 3: So that's so that's four that you're probably going to
- 7:03Speaker 3: be hard pressed. So that's seven losses. So to Fred's point,
- 7:06Speaker 3: you know, try to get to five hundred. You do
- 7:09Speaker 3: that by going seven and two in the other nine games.
- 7:13Speaker 3: And I think those other nine games are probably all
- 7:17Speaker 3: like this one against New Orleans.
- 7:18Speaker 5: They're coin flips.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And then okay, so let's say you do get to
- 7:21Speaker 1: five hundred. What good does that do you at this point?
- 7:24Speaker 14: How Fred really had an introspective to look at No,
- 7:27Speaker 14: I'm really looking at this and I'm looking at our personnel,
- 7:31Speaker 14: and I'm talking about offense mostly it ain't good enough.
- 7:35Speaker 1: It's just not good enough. And how do you turn
- 7:39Speaker 1: that around? Ye for twenty twenty four.
- 7:43Speaker 9: And what is the team? You know, what team is
- 7:44Speaker 9: this going to be? What emergency but I want to,
- 7:46Speaker 9: like conversate with Paul for a second.
- 7:48Speaker 11: We felt like those.
- 7:49Speaker 10: Were those were coin flips.
- 7:51Speaker 9: Like without Judon and Gonzales, do you really feel that,
- 7:53Speaker 9: like there's still coin flips, Like I feel like it's
- 7:56Speaker 9: kind of leaning the other way with a lot of
- 7:58Speaker 9: those games.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Now, it depends, it depends which one, you know, the
- 8:01Speaker 3: specific games that you ask about, like.
- 8:03Speaker 10: Like the Raiders okay, but like Adams well without like
- 8:07Speaker 10: if it's.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Miles br but is Garoppolo playing in the Raiders game,
- 8:11Speaker 3: because I would get the Raiders an edge if he
- 8:12Speaker 3: is right, you know, to you a point, you those
- 8:15Speaker 3: are the those have been their two best players, not
- 8:18Speaker 3: just defensive players, the best two players. And I think
- 8:21Speaker 3: Jonathan Jones is probably close because and I'm judging on
- 8:24Speaker 3: the fact that they haven't put him on I R right, right,
- 8:27Speaker 3: so they have to think that he's had a chance.
- 8:29Speaker 5: The last couple of weeks.
- 8:31Speaker 3: So I think if he comes back, that will help.
- 8:33Speaker 3: But you're still dealing with even this week, Okay, New
- 8:35Speaker 3: Orleans a team that's very much like the Patriots, struggling
- 8:39Speaker 3: to score points. Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, uh is.
- 8:45Speaker 5: It, Rashid.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Shaheed Shaheed, right, you know, big play guy.
- 8:51Speaker 5: So is it Miles Bryant and Sean Wade, Like that's.
- 8:56Speaker 10: That's Jonathan Jones and Jack Jones.
- 8:57Speaker 5: That's Worriso.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Like, I don't think Jack Jones comes in Bat Jones,
- 9:01Speaker 3: you know, And I think Jonathan Jones might come back.
- 9:04Speaker 3: But even if it is Jack Jones coming back to
- 9:06Speaker 3: what like he hasn't played in months at this point,
- 9:09Speaker 3: you know.
- 9:10Speaker 8: So.
- 9:12Speaker 3: That trouble that is that is a coin flip game
- 9:15Speaker 3: to me, only because the other team can't score. But
- 9:18Speaker 3: I would worry about the games like Washington, which is
- 9:21Speaker 3: a game that I didn't come into the season worrying
- 9:22Speaker 3: about because they've they've demonstrated the ability to score the courts.
- 9:27Speaker 3: You know, the the Colt young quarterback is making plays
- 9:30Speaker 3: and if he happens to go out of the game
- 9:32Speaker 3: like he did, Mitchew can put points on the boyd too. Yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 3: now that offense is played well, those teams worry me.
- 9:39Speaker 13: And it's like weird to say, But the Giants, I
- 9:41Speaker 13: know that they have they've had their moments where they're
- 9:44Speaker 13: like what is going on? But then they also have
- 9:45Speaker 13: the ability to do what they did against the Cardinals
- 9:47Speaker 13: and come back from being down to right like.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Like, I watched a lot of that game last night,
- 9:51Speaker 3: and it looks like a train wreck. You got sacked
- 9:53Speaker 3: eleven times, you had multiple turnovers that turned into touchdowns.
- 9:58Speaker 3: But there were times in that game where they moved
- 10:00Speaker 3: the ball effortlessly against Seattle. I thought for large parts
- 10:03Speaker 3: of that game they were a better team than Seattle,
- 10:05Speaker 3: and they didn't even come close to winning it. Maybe
- 10:07Speaker 3: it's just one of those years for the Giants and
- 10:08Speaker 3: they're done. They're one of the few teams that have
- 10:10Speaker 3: scored fewer points on the Patriots, right, it's it's the
- 10:13Speaker 3: Giants in Cincinnati.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Wow.
- 10:16Speaker 11: And my first of all that this team has broken
- 10:19Speaker 11: me to the point where I am ten minutes, I'm
- 10:22Speaker 11: not sick on top of everything and speak just let's
- 10:25Speaker 11: just put that out there. Why my voice sounds like this,
- 10:28Speaker 11: But this is in my lifetime and I don't count
- 10:32Speaker 11: the nineties because I wasn't old enough to really remember that.
- 10:36Speaker 11: I hate he just said. He just said in my lifetime.
- 10:39Speaker 13: To watch the tape.
- 10:40Speaker 11: Yet this was this is the darkest place I've ever
- 10:44Speaker 11: been in with this team.
- 10:45Speaker 5: So always darkest before the dawn.
- 10:46Speaker 11: No, it's not. And this is this is this is
- 10:50Speaker 11: as down on the team as I have ever been
- 10:54Speaker 11: ever really and and talk about it twenty years of
- 10:59Speaker 11: really understand was happening up.
- 11:01Speaker 5: There, and.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Well I didn't want to let him.
- 11:05Speaker 10: I didn't want to let him, you know, get it
- 11:06Speaker 10: all out up there. You gotta leave it for him.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I was waiting for Fred to like sort of rally
- 11:10Speaker 3: the troops, but I guess evidently he's looking for Caleb
- 11:13Speaker 3: Williams instead.
- 11:14Speaker 11: And uh, you know, to to the point about the
- 11:17Speaker 11: there's a million places to go. But from the point
- 11:19Speaker 11: of the injuries, in some ways, I hope people don't
- 11:24Speaker 11: take this the wrong way because Matthew Judon's meant a
- 11:26Speaker 11: lot to this team the last couple of years, and
- 11:28Speaker 11: I hate injuries for any player, regardless of who it is.
- 11:32Speaker 11: He's thirty one years old, he already was unhappy with
- 11:35Speaker 11: his contract this year, and I'm thinking about twenty twenty
- 11:39Speaker 11: four with this football team, So with him specifically, is
- 11:45Speaker 11: it the worst thing in the world that Keon White
- 11:48Speaker 11: is going to play more and maybe you're going to
- 11:51Speaker 11: see what josh Uja can do as a three down player,
- 11:54Speaker 11: and maybe you know, You'll see what some of the
- 11:57Speaker 11: interior guys like as Sam Roberts or someone like that
- 12:00Speaker 11: can do in the defensive front a little bit more.
- 12:03Speaker 11: At this point, you are looking at the Judan thing
- 12:06Speaker 11: to me as what can we develop for this team
- 12:12Speaker 11: because frankly, Matthew Juan is not going to be on
- 12:14Speaker 11: the next great Patriots team.
- 12:16Speaker 3: So what I would love is for Evan to be
- 12:19Speaker 3: right what he just said in the last minute, Keon White.
- 12:22Speaker 3: I want to see Keon White full time. Let's see
- 12:26Speaker 3: what he is.
- 12:26Speaker 5: You know what I'm afraid of.
- 12:28Speaker 11: It's the same thing Evan said Jilani Tavai and Ferny
- 12:30Speaker 11: Jennings activating Trey Flowers.
- 12:34Speaker 3: If they am afraid of Flowers coming off pup, you
- 12:36Speaker 3: got to get that veteran in there.
- 12:38Speaker 5: This is why we got them.
- 12:39Speaker 11: Yeah, if they do, if they go that direction, that
- 12:43Speaker 11: that is another strike to me against the coaching staff
- 12:47Speaker 11: because that is selfish. That that is looking at it
- 12:51Speaker 11: and saying we think that to win on Sunday, Trey
- 12:55Speaker 11: Flowers gives us the best chance to win, and not
- 12:58Speaker 11: looking at the bigger picture of where this team is
- 13:00Speaker 11: heading and how they need to develop some of the
- 13:01Speaker 11: youth on the team with Christian Gonzales. That one has
- 13:05Speaker 11: me in a dark place because that that is like
- 13:07Speaker 11: one of the few players that we could cling to
- 13:09Speaker 11: and say defensive rookie of the month, you know, going
- 13:13Speaker 11: up against toe to toe against these great receivers, and
- 13:16Speaker 11: we could cling to that and say, well, we got
- 13:18Speaker 11: a building block on defense. We have this foundational player
- 13:21Speaker 11: on defense, and him being out for an extended period
- 13:26Speaker 11: of time is is a death blow.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I'm going to look at the positive on that. But
- 13:30Speaker 3: I agree with everything Evan just said. Maybe, you know,
- 13:32Speaker 3: you get him out, you know, get this year older, healthy,
- 13:36Speaker 3: and get him stronger. Right, he's got to get a
- 13:38Speaker 3: little bit bigger up top and be a little bit
- 13:40Speaker 3: more physical, but tremendous outside.
- 13:44Speaker 5: How about the rookie corners. Did you watch any the
- 13:46Speaker 5: game last night, Witherspoon, Oh.
- 13:48Speaker 11: My god, Yeah, that was his first good game.
- 13:51Speaker 5: No, that was his first great game.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Is well, unless Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were blowing
- 13:58Speaker 3: smoke that Pete Carroll was trying to get them because
- 14:01Speaker 3: they were very complimentary him last night, he was inside
- 14:03Speaker 3: outside doing a lot of stuff, like two really good corners.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Now the other one that was taking a pick before Gonzales.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Emmanuel Forbes has not played very well. He's been very
- 14:12Speaker 3: inconsistent and got torched by AJ Brown on Sunday. But
- 14:18Speaker 3: for Gonzales, maybe you can look at it as okay,
- 14:22Speaker 3: you know, maybe protects his body a little bit, gets
- 14:25Speaker 3: a chance to get the surgery, maybe you know, whatever
- 14:28Speaker 3: you have to do for the labor, and then get stronger,
- 14:30Speaker 3: and maybe he comes.
- 14:31Speaker 5: Back better than ever.
- 14:32Speaker 3: But I agree with Evan, that's a like I was
- 14:34Speaker 3: looking forward to watching him play against some of these
- 14:36Speaker 3: receivers over the balance.
- 14:38Speaker 11: Because that's right. You're at a point now where you
- 14:42Speaker 11: have to watch the team for individual players popping like
- 14:47Speaker 11: is it you know this guy might might be for
- 14:49Speaker 11: individual right? And Gonzales was, you know, the one guy
- 14:52Speaker 11: that I felt like we would be able to sink
- 14:55Speaker 11: our teeth into and be like, all right, they got
- 14:57Speaker 11: something here with this number one corner, And now you
- 14:59Speaker 11: don't even and have that. So it's a dark place
- 15:02Speaker 11: right now. I think that the one thing I will
- 15:04Speaker 11: say about watching uh Mac Jones yesterday, I thought that
- 15:08Speaker 11: Bill O'Brien uh talked about it a little bit today.
- 15:11Speaker 11: To me, that was you can say what you want
- 15:14Speaker 11: about Mac Jones's physical tools and all that kind of stuff.
- 15:17Speaker 11: The decision making in that game, for Mac was uncharacteristic
- 15:20Speaker 11: of Mac. He does he doesn't play like that, you know,
- 15:25Speaker 11: because the games.
- 15:26Speaker 1: The game starts out and they go right down the field.
- 15:28Speaker 1: They only ended up with three, but it looked like, okay,
- 15:31Speaker 1: they're gonna be able to throw the ball today. It
- 15:33Speaker 1: looked that way. And I think Mac, you know, it
- 15:36Speaker 1: was the weather was right. You know, I'm joking, but
- 15:38Speaker 1: you know, compared to some.
- 15:39Speaker 5: Of them that came out that came out during the postgame.
- 15:42Speaker 1: You know, And and I think like Mac was feeling
- 15:45Speaker 1: pretty good. Yeah, and I think that he was making
- 15:48Speaker 1: decisions that of things that he can't do that he
- 15:52Speaker 1: thought he could in that game, and it, you know,
- 15:55Speaker 1: resulted in.
- 15:56Speaker 11: I think it was even worse than that. Like he
- 15:59Speaker 11: he was making this decisions that nobody should be doing,
- 16:02Speaker 11: like not not whether it's Mac Jones or it's it's
- 16:05Speaker 11: Josh Allen or Justin Herbert or Patrick Mahomes.
- 16:07Speaker 3: John Elway looked at one of those throws and said, bro,
- 16:09Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't know if I could get it.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I get it because You got to remember, like when
- 16:13Speaker 1: he's on the right sideline and he's throwing across field,
- 16:16Speaker 1: that's like a forty five.
- 16:17Speaker 5: Yard but can you imagine doing it twice?
- 16:19Speaker 1: Right? Well, the first one he got away with.
- 16:22Speaker 11: The first one.
- 16:22Speaker 5: The first one almost had like four different turnovers.
- 16:25Speaker 1: To I know, but he got away with it.
- 16:27Speaker 10: I thought was gonna cough it up.
- 16:28Speaker 11: I thought the first one was in terms of like
- 16:31Speaker 11: decision making, was almost more egregious than the pick six.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Yeah, totally.
- 16:35Speaker 11: He threw from the numbers on one side of the
- 16:38Speaker 11: field to outside the numbers on the other side.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I mean I just I looked at and reached him
- 16:43Speaker 3: like Bourne barely scraped it off the ground.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Then he's biling. You never seen him do that before.
- 16:49Speaker 9: And the second one was the hitch, Like he's sitting
- 16:53Speaker 9: there like you can't throw that that late in.
- 16:55Speaker 10: The down, like the defensive backs just sitting there watching him.
- 16:57Speaker 5: It was like, what's he gonna do. Bland was like
- 16:59Speaker 5: sitting next to him.
- 17:01Speaker 1: But to me, like some people say, well, he was
- 17:03Speaker 1: just desperate and trying to make plays. I looked at
- 17:06Speaker 1: it as like he's actually feeling good about himself and
- 17:10Speaker 1: he thinks and he thinks he can do things that
- 17:14Speaker 1: he can't do in this particular game.
- 17:16Speaker 3: That particular throw is a throw that he can't make
- 17:19Speaker 3: that he thinks he can because he's made it repeatedly.
- 17:21Speaker 11: I that game was up there with in terms of
- 17:26Speaker 11: like seeing ghosts and then not necessarily seeing the field
- 17:30Speaker 11: at all. With some of like the Zach Wilson and
- 17:32Speaker 11: Sam Darnold performances I've seen against the Patriots, like the
- 17:36Speaker 11: pick six. That on the pick six, if he just
- 17:39Speaker 11: throws it with some anticipation at the top of his drop,
- 17:43Speaker 11: it's open at the top of the screen and he's
- 17:45Speaker 11: not even looking there initially. And they're playing like a
- 17:50Speaker 11: quarter quarter half coverage where they have three guys running
- 17:53Speaker 11: on the right side of the formation into routes into
- 17:57Speaker 11: six defenders. It's clear as day that the one on
- 18:00Speaker 11: one matchup in the in the throw, the read is
- 18:02Speaker 11: taking him over to the left sideline, so that's it
- 18:06Speaker 11: was open initially, but he threw it two and a
- 18:10Speaker 11: half seconds too late. Yeah, And I just I've never
- 18:13Speaker 11: seen Mac in particular like lose sight of the field
- 18:18Speaker 11: like that, like his field vision where his eyes were,
- 18:21Speaker 11: you know, where the decision making all of that, and
- 18:24Speaker 11: I think that the one thing that I, if you
- 18:26Speaker 11: want to be positive about it, is that was so
- 18:31Speaker 11: uncharacteristically awful for Mac Jones, like the way that just
- 18:35Speaker 11: his process was just terrible.
- 18:38Speaker 1: And some of it was with Micaeh Parsons out of
- 18:39Speaker 1: the game.
- 18:40Speaker 9: Yeah, and that's and that's and I watched a bunch
- 18:43Speaker 9: of Mac yesterday because and I you know, I know
- 18:45Speaker 9: last week we talked about Batard's review, and I gotta say,
- 18:47Speaker 9: I don't really I don't really agree that the past
- 18:51Speaker 9: protection was the biggest issue for them. I mean, it's
- 18:53Speaker 9: certainly a problem, and there were mistakes, but I must
- 18:57Speaker 9: have watched every third down that they had three four
- 18:59Speaker 9: times e and Mac was just not in sync drifting
- 19:03Speaker 9: into pressure. He was late on a lot of the throws,
- 19:06Speaker 9: and I think that allowed the pressure to get to him.
- 19:08Speaker 10: But I also just didn't really agree with Greg.
- 19:10Speaker 9: I thought they were mean and Nev and I talked
- 19:11Speaker 9: about there were throws there to be made if he
- 19:13Speaker 9: got it out quick.
- 19:13Speaker 10: If he saw it. Yeah, he had Parker on at
- 19:15Speaker 10: least two crossers that were there.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Give me something to do this afternoon, read Greg, Well,
- 19:20Speaker 3: and I haven't seen it well, and I didn't.
- 19:22Speaker 9: He was more tweeting just about how terrible the past
- 19:24Speaker 9: protection wasn't I'm not going to tell you the past,
- 19:26Speaker 9: Presesson was saying.
- 19:26Speaker 3: I think two things can be true at the same time, right,
- 19:29Speaker 3: I looked at it. Obviously, we know how because Mike
- 19:31Speaker 3: and I did the whole post game show, so I
- 19:33Speaker 3: know how Mike feels, and I agree with him. I
- 19:36Speaker 3: think that the pass protection was bad, and I think
- 19:38Speaker 3: that he was quote unquote under pressure.
- 19:40Speaker 10: A lot, but he made it pert worse.
- 19:42Speaker 3: But it wasn't to the point where, yes, that's perfectly put,
- 19:46Speaker 3: he made it worse. It wasn't to the point where
- 19:48Speaker 3: he was running for his life and he was acting
- 19:50Speaker 3: as if he needed to run for his life. So
- 19:53Speaker 3: you can have numbers that tell me that he was
- 19:55Speaker 3: under pressure fifty whatever percent of the time. I wouldn't
- 19:57Speaker 3: argue with that, but I would also so argue that
- 20:00Speaker 3: he didn't handle it like I've seen him handle it
- 20:03Speaker 3: in the past, to Heaven's point, especially seeing him show better, Yeah,
- 20:06Speaker 3: I've seen him show better poise in the pocket this game.
- 20:09Speaker 3: For whatever reason, he did not show any poison, like.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Just guessing, we don't. I think it's just unraveled for him.
- 20:16Speaker 9: I mean, I just I think he started the press
- 20:18Speaker 9: and I think it was just one of those games
- 20:19Speaker 9: where he lost it, but but just real quick. Like
- 20:22Speaker 9: it had me wondering if a quarterback breaks the pocket
- 20:26Speaker 9: and the Yeah, I guess there was pressure there, but
- 20:28Speaker 9: he could have just did a little move up and
- 20:30Speaker 9: you know, take a little size sep. Do they qualify
- 20:32Speaker 9: that as a pressure even if though he could have
- 20:34Speaker 9: gotten around, he broke the pocket of his own volig.
- 20:37Speaker 5: Like I said, I thought there was a lot of pressure.
- 20:38Speaker 3: I thought there was a lot of very quick pressure,
- 20:41Speaker 3: but not to the point where it should have impacted
- 20:44Speaker 3: where his head was going. I thought he was watching
- 20:46Speaker 3: the rush yep, instead of looking and that's why. And
- 20:48Speaker 3: I thought Greg Olsen did a really good job at
- 20:51Speaker 3: times during the game of showing you know this, this
- 20:53Speaker 3: is an easy little throw right here is a four
- 20:55Speaker 3: yard crosser to Devonte Parker was there where he's not
- 20:58Speaker 3: like wide open like this guy on him, but that's
- 21:01Speaker 3: kind of NFL open. And I thought greg Olsen did
- 21:04Speaker 3: a good job of not killing him but saying these
- 21:06Speaker 3: these are throws that need to be made. And I
- 21:08Speaker 3: think instead of making those throws. He was watching Micah Parsons.
- 21:12Speaker 3: It was an ongoing listen, he was an ongoing problem.
- 21:16Speaker 5: He's a great player.
- 21:17Speaker 10: It wasn't just him too, I think it was other guy.
- 21:18Speaker 9: Like there were a couple of there's one you know,
- 21:20Speaker 9: where the guard kind of came across Andrews and and
- 21:23Speaker 9: and Andrews kind of took him and was it looked
- 21:25Speaker 9: like he might have gotten through, but he was kind
- 21:27Speaker 9: of falling down.
- 21:27Speaker 10: So it wasn't like he's coming up the middle. He's
- 21:29Speaker 10: kind of falling.
- 21:30Speaker 9: And it was just so many times when like Mac
- 21:32Speaker 9: do a little stuff to the left and fire the
- 21:34Speaker 9: ball like you know, and it's just it seemed as
- 21:36Speaker 9: soon as he felt like there was gonna be pressure,
- 21:39Speaker 9: he was out of his mind and doing something.
- 21:41Speaker 3: The stripsack to me was infuriating, like he's sort of
- 21:46Speaker 3: like jogging to the left down near his goal line,
- 21:52Speaker 3: Like do you not think that someone's coming, Like there's
- 21:55Speaker 3: no there was no awareness.
- 21:56Speaker 10: On is coming.
- 21:58Speaker 5: It's just us.
- 21:59Speaker 11: Well that is the point though, is no one is
- 22:02Speaker 11: cut like Mac is going to be the quarterback of
- 22:04Speaker 11: his team barring injury, Like he's he's going to be
- 22:08Speaker 11: the quarterback and to get him back on the tracks
- 22:12Speaker 11: here is just it starts with him really getting back
- 22:18Speaker 11: to where he was I thought in week one where
- 22:21Speaker 11: he did manage the pocket well, I thought, and he
- 22:24Speaker 11: did beat pressure by a quick release and getting the
- 22:27Speaker 11: ball out on time and those different types of things.
- 22:30Speaker 11: In this game, I I I watched the offensive line
- 22:34Speaker 11: multiple times through because fifty percent pressure rate from next gen,
- 22:39Speaker 11: fifty percent pressure rate from PFF. Other people are telling me.
- 22:43Speaker 5: So everybody was in control. Everybody was in agreement on that.
- 22:45Speaker 11: There Ever, everybody was telling me that the pressure was
- 22:48Speaker 11: was horrible and that on when it was bad. And uh,
- 22:51Speaker 11: you know, Viderian Lowe is he was bad like we all.
- 22:54Speaker 11: We all could see that. And and and uh he
- 22:58Speaker 11: gave he gave up nine nine pressures in this game,
- 23:02Speaker 11: nineteen pressures, seventeen in his two starts.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, sorry seven last week.
- 23:07Speaker 11: And uh so he was he was dreadful in this game.
- 23:12Speaker 11: But in general, I thought that there was a lot
- 23:15Speaker 11: of opportunities to just make some layups and get the
- 23:18Speaker 11: football out and get the ball out of the pocket.
- 23:21Speaker 11: And he made two of his turnovers were in clean pockets.
- 23:25Speaker 11: So you sit there and blame and blame the you know,
- 23:29Speaker 11: the pick six, or he's in a clean pocket and
- 23:31Speaker 11: he panicks. He panicked, and I just I've never seen Mac.
- 23:36Speaker 11: I honestly started to question in the second quarter if
- 23:38Speaker 11: you even knew what play they were running like, because
- 23:42Speaker 11: when I say that, I mean like, as the ball
- 23:45Speaker 11: was snapped, like he lost his mind totally, and you
- 23:48Speaker 11: kind of wonder if, like his eyes just weren't even
- 23:51Speaker 11: going anywhere, and you just kind of wonder if he
- 23:53Speaker 11: just lost all sense of the game at that point.
- 23:57Speaker 3: So that's why, like when when Mike was talking about
- 23:59Speaker 3: all the like, I'm not telling you that I disagree
- 24:02Speaker 3: with the rankings, Like I'm telling you that there were
- 24:05Speaker 3: plays that pressure presented itself that he just needed to
- 24:09Speaker 3: throw the ball, like Evan just explained, he did throughout
- 24:11Speaker 3: the Philadelphia game where he threw it in like two
- 24:14Speaker 3: point oh one whatever seconds on average, And that's how
- 24:17Speaker 3: they negated that pass rush is they got it out
- 24:20Speaker 3: really quickly. Now, maybe he took a lot of hits
- 24:24Speaker 3: in that game he didn't want to take any more,
- 24:25Speaker 3: Like I don't know what the reason is, but for
- 24:27Speaker 3: whatever reason, he didn't do the same thing in this
- 24:30Speaker 3: game that he has, I think generally, because I am
- 24:33Speaker 3: not a believer in mac Jones' future. That's no, I
- 24:37Speaker 3: don't think that's a secret. But I haven't been down
- 24:41Speaker 3: on mac Jones to the point where he played on Sunday. Yeah,
- 24:44Speaker 3: that's a totally different animal like and he's a better
- 24:47Speaker 3: player than.
- 24:47Speaker 9: That, agreed, And that's why I think it's And I
- 24:49Speaker 9: mean I just to say it, like I acknowledged, like
- 24:51Speaker 9: this was, you know, a terrible game for him, and
- 24:54Speaker 9: it's hard because, like you said, Paul, you said him
- 24:56Speaker 9: many times like he hasn't really won a game or
- 24:58Speaker 9: lost the game, and now this feels like the first loss.
- 25:00Speaker 9: So you can feel the energy of Patriots Nation being like,
- 25:03Speaker 9: now we have our excuse to say that's it, We're done.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I will say that I did, and I was on
- 25:07Speaker 3: the mail bag. I got a handful of those and
- 25:09Speaker 3: we never get them.
- 25:10Speaker 9: Yeah, And I mean I would say, look, I mean,
- 25:12Speaker 9: I'm I'm on Paul's side of the street with us generally,
- 25:14Speaker 9: but even I am saying, I think we need to
- 25:16Speaker 9: just give him this week to see him have the
- 25:18Speaker 9: ability to bounce back, because I think every player has
- 25:21Speaker 9: a game like this at some point in their career,
- 25:23Speaker 9: and you know, you have to be a little bit
- 25:26Speaker 9: flexible with that performance. And you know, I just look,
- 25:28Speaker 9: like I said, there's a long season ago. There's no
- 25:30Speaker 9: reason to jump off the bridge right now. I mean,
- 25:32Speaker 9: as much as we all want to, and we've been
- 25:33Speaker 9: seeing the same thing. And I'm sure Paul can tell you.
- 25:35Speaker 9: I was frustrated watching the game, like this is the
- 25:37Speaker 9: same thing we're watching over and over again. But it's
- 25:40Speaker 9: just hard to jump off the bridge when they just
- 25:42Speaker 9: didn't bring their game. They didn't bring their game in
- 25:44Speaker 9: that one. I want to judge them off of one
- 25:45Speaker 9: where all right at least likely.
- 25:47Speaker 1: But if you're the Saints and you looked at that game,
- 25:50Speaker 1: are you chopping at the bit right now? Yeah and
- 25:53Speaker 1: saying okay, yeah.
- 25:55Speaker 10: And that's why I don't know, you know.
- 25:56Speaker 9: And it goes back to like Paul's fifty to fifty thing,
- 25:58Speaker 9: where I mean, I'm feeling a little bit down where
- 26:00Speaker 9: I'm like, I don't I feel like forty sixty on
- 26:02Speaker 9: those games with the Patriots, just because.
- 26:04Speaker 10: Of the defensive injuries and all that.
- 26:06Speaker 9: But I think the Saints are kind of a perfect
- 26:09Speaker 9: team for this because they they have a respectable defense.
- 26:12Speaker 9: They certainly have pieces. The Patriots are not going to
- 26:14Speaker 9: get handed this game offensively, at least, and I think
- 26:17Speaker 9: that it'll give them a chance to at least go
- 26:19Speaker 9: against the good defense.
- 26:20Speaker 10: Try to get right, but don't let those.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Weapons on it.
- 26:23Speaker 3: I just would like to see the game unfold properly,
- 26:26Speaker 3: as opposed to like minus three turnals or plus three
- 26:29Speaker 3: internal you know, like if I'd like to see what happens,
- 26:32Speaker 3: just you know, the teams play if they you know,
- 26:35Speaker 3: if these two teams want to play close to the vest.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I don't know how healthy Derek Carr is. I didn't
- 26:40Speaker 3: get a chance to watch a ton of that game.
- 26:43Speaker 3: The final score of that game was deceptive. It was
- 26:46Speaker 3: a touchdown game with about two minutes left. Yeah, it
- 26:48Speaker 3: was seventeen to nine. But Derek Carr only threw for
- 26:53Speaker 3: like one hundred and thirty yards.
- 26:55Speaker 11: Yeah, he set a career high for passes behind the
- 26:57Speaker 11: line as.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, like Camara has everything. I had thirteen
- 27:00Speaker 3: catches for thirty three yards. That set a record for
- 27:03Speaker 3: the most catches fewish yards in the history of the league. Seriously,
- 27:07Speaker 3: so I don't know how much of that had to
- 27:10Speaker 3: do with his health and how much of it had
- 27:13Speaker 3: to do with just their offense is struggling. I know,
- 27:15Speaker 3: my boy, Pete Carmichael is under a lot of fire there.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Former teammate of mine, Fred Every offensive coordinator for the
- 27:22Speaker 3: Saints Boston Park League, Well, he was the offensive coordinator
- 27:26Speaker 3: for a long time, but didn't keep playing right now.
- 27:29Speaker 5: No baseball baseball, Yeah, no, he was a good player.
- 27:34Speaker 11: The Bucks played a lot of too high defense and
- 27:37Speaker 11: basically just dare Derek Carr to beat them outside the
- 27:40Speaker 11: numbers sound familiar.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Now, they had it, but they did have a great
- 27:43Speaker 3: deep ball to lave that. I mean, kind of got
- 27:47Speaker 3: to have that one could have changed the complexion of
- 27:49Speaker 3: the game. You know, when you when you're that kind
- 27:51Speaker 3: of an offense and you're setting up a shot or
- 27:55Speaker 3: two and then you get it and then you miss it.
- 27:58Speaker 3: That's how you went up thirty yards and get nine points.
- 28:00Speaker 11: I actually thought that they had two that they could
- 28:03Speaker 11: have hit down the field. The first one was the
- 28:06Speaker 11: drop or ish if you want to call.
- 28:08Speaker 5: It, was a little late too. I thought he was
- 28:09Speaker 5: open and he didn't get it to it.
- 28:10Speaker 11: And then the other one. I just had a really
- 28:13Speaker 11: fun time watching Vida veya. My god, is that guy
- 28:16Speaker 11: a monster? And he was right in his lap and
- 28:18Speaker 11: and car couldn't get enough.
- 28:19Speaker 3: On It's another team, I mean, we can get to
- 28:21Speaker 3: this more tomorrow. Another team with a lot of problems
- 28:23Speaker 3: in the offensive line. Caesar Ruiz didn't play because of
- 28:26Speaker 3: a concussion. Pete had to leave the game because of
- 28:30Speaker 3: a concussion. So those guys may or may not be available.
- 28:33Speaker 3: They've struggled at right tackle with Penning a little bit too, So.
- 28:37Speaker 11: Yeah, they're they're image right guard. Their right guard had
- 28:40Speaker 11: a really I think that's Ruiz's backup. I believe he
- 28:43Speaker 11: had a pretty rough game. I think that, you know,
- 28:45Speaker 11: for the Patriots offense, it's just if you're out on
- 28:48Speaker 11: Mac Jones, like I'm not I'm not gonna blame you,
- 28:51Speaker 11: Like I'm not going to keep pounding the table for
- 28:53Speaker 11: a guy that clearly just has limitations and and is struggling.
- 28:57Speaker 11: But why I'm in such a dark place with the
- 29:00Speaker 11: team is because, like, is this going to be better
- 29:03Speaker 11: with Drake may next year? Like is that what you're
- 29:05Speaker 11: trying to tell me? Like, even if they lose a
- 29:06Speaker 11: bunch of games and they get that a top ten pick,
- 29:12Speaker 11: like how is it gonna okay unless they change their philosophy?
- 29:15Speaker 1: This is this is this is what I've been preparing,
- 29:20Speaker 1: oh prior to because ever kind of opened the door
- 29:23Speaker 1: to what to say with, you know, like, okay, so
- 29:26Speaker 1: you get Caleb Williams, how is it going to be
- 29:29Speaker 1: better if you stick with the same philosophy. I was
- 29:31Speaker 1: waiting for a state and I've come to the point
- 29:34Speaker 1: now where when it comes to Bill Belichick, who runs
- 29:38Speaker 1: this team, I still think he's the best head coach
- 29:42Speaker 1: in the league. I don't know who I would rather
- 29:44Speaker 1: have other than him, And I also think he's a
- 29:47Speaker 1: good GM. But my definition of GM goes beyond just personnel.
- 29:51Speaker 1: It's running the whole football. I still think he's one
- 29:53Speaker 1: of the best. But I believe in twenty twenty four
- 29:58Speaker 1: there needs to be what whatever you want to call
- 30:00Speaker 1: the person a personnel director GM, whatever you want to
- 30:05Speaker 1: call that, that person answers to Robert Craft and whether
- 30:09Speaker 1: it's Matt grow or somebody else that they bring in,
- 30:13Speaker 1: we need somebody to head up personnel that answers to
- 30:16Speaker 1: the Crafts Jonathan and Robert and not to Bill. And
- 30:19Speaker 1: obviously they all work together and hopefully and I know
- 30:23Speaker 1: Bill has to be on board with this, because you know,
- 30:26Speaker 1: it doesn't work if he's not. But that's the conditions,
- 30:29Speaker 1: that's the conditions, that's what needs to happen.
- 30:33Speaker 3: In my opinion, It's a really interesting scenario. But what
- 30:38Speaker 3: I think is is different here. I understand what you're
- 30:42Speaker 3: saying about. Bill has to be on board with it.
- 30:44Speaker 3: So let's just we'll play the game and hypothetical it
- 30:47Speaker 3: and say Bill's on board with it. Is Bill also
- 30:50Speaker 3: on board with changing his philosophy of how do you
- 30:52Speaker 3: win games? Because if you don't change that, he's not
- 30:56Speaker 3: the best.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Head coach in football right now.
- 30:59Speaker 3: If you can keep saying that he's and this is
- 31:01Speaker 3: not coming at you, we can all keep saying that
- 31:04Speaker 3: he's the best head coach in football. But if he
- 31:07Speaker 3: really believes that playing stout defense, running the ball, and
- 31:11Speaker 3: being good on special teams is the key to success,
- 31:14Speaker 3: he's not the best head coach in football anymore.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I And that's a fair statement. And I
- 31:19Speaker 1: thought about that as well. And you know, part of
- 31:22Speaker 1: this is that you know, Bill O'Brien's still here and
- 31:25Speaker 1: he's running the offense, you know, but I feel like.
- 31:28Speaker 13: It's not enough to have Bill O'Brien. Bill O'Brien needs
- 31:31Speaker 13: the firepower, he needs the pieces. So if this GM
- 31:34Speaker 13: could get the personnel in here to make this better
- 31:37Speaker 13: and actually allow Bill O'Brien to run an effective offense
- 31:40Speaker 13: and not be telling him.
- 31:42Speaker 11: To Paul's point that you have to run.
- 31:43Speaker 3: The ball, right, I think this is Evan's point about
- 31:45Speaker 3: like if what changes if it's Drake may or Caleb Williams,
- 31:50Speaker 3: if you still think you need receivers that block, well.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Listen, you know what I mean. Like, if you're going
- 31:55Speaker 1: to draft a quarterback in the top five, you know,
- 31:58Speaker 1: if you're lucky to have that, unlucky enough to have that, uh,
- 32:02Speaker 1: and your philosophy is gonna be run, run, run, then
- 32:06Speaker 1: what are we doing? Why why bother drafting a quarterback
- 32:10Speaker 1: in the top five. If that's what you're gonna do,
- 32:12Speaker 1: anyone can hand off the ball. So I'm assuming that
- 32:15Speaker 1: if you're making a commitment to draft this guy in
- 32:17Speaker 1: the top five, you're gonna.
- 32:18Speaker 13: Use him, yeah, you know, and not only use him,
- 32:21Speaker 13: but get.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Some And I know he'll use Caleb Williams. But if
- 32:25Speaker 3: he's Caleb Williams, is it's still not gonna be as
- 32:28Speaker 3: productive as.
- 32:29Speaker 5: It could be. It's too if you have this philosophy.
- 32:32Speaker 11: Still it's still gonna look bad if you put a
- 32:34Speaker 11: rookie quarterback next year behind the line like this and
- 32:37Speaker 11: with receivers like that.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I still got I know, and I know we
- 32:41Speaker 1: say the Bill is stuck in his philosophy. I'm saying,
- 32:44Speaker 1: if right and and right now, it seems that that
- 32:49Speaker 1: is what he wants to do. Maybe because he agrees
- 32:52Speaker 1: with us that I don't have the right personnel. It's
- 32:55Speaker 1: we're not that good, you know. And maybe maybe and
- 32:58Speaker 1: again I'm speaking for myself, Maybe maybe he thinks that
- 33:03Speaker 1: Mac isn't that good, you.
- 33:05Speaker 11: Know, But I we would all agree with him that
- 33:08Speaker 11: Mac isn't that good. So why is your answer, Juju,
- 33:12Speaker 11: Simith Schuster, and MIKEASICKI like, if you really wanted to
- 33:15Speaker 11: win this season, wouldn't the answer be, well, let's look
- 33:20Speaker 11: at what Miami did for Tua, or let's look at
- 33:22Speaker 11: what the Eagles did for Jalen Hurts, or let's look
- 33:25Speaker 11: at what.
- 33:26Speaker 1: All these others may Jalen Hurts. I'd do the same thing.
- 33:32Speaker 11: I just don't. I'm just confused as to like, if
- 33:34Speaker 11: your goal is to win football games. And you think
- 33:37Speaker 11: your quarterback isn't all that great, then wouldn't the answer
- 33:41Speaker 11: to that be to surround the quarterback with as much
- 33:43Speaker 11: talent as possible so that he doesn't have to do
- 33:45Speaker 11: as much Because that that's that's what's crystal clear about
- 33:49Speaker 11: all this.
- 33:50Speaker 1: They don't let me, let me you're right. And I
- 33:52Speaker 1: think two years ago they attempted that and it just
- 33:55Speaker 1: didn't work out as much as they thought it would didn't.
- 33:58Speaker 13: I wouldn't say no, would they attept two years a
- 34:00Speaker 13: two years ago? Those were equate brand firepower.
- 34:04Speaker 1: They were the top of the market guys. They were
- 34:06Speaker 1: the best guys.
- 34:07Speaker 3: If they were the top of the market that market,
- 34:09Speaker 3: that's right. But they weren't that caliber of player.
- 34:11Speaker 5: They weren't a J. Brown. And by the way, those
- 34:13Speaker 5: are the guys that went in those markets. Yeah, the
- 34:16Speaker 5: Tyreek Hill and DeVante Adams and AJ Brown got traded
- 34:19Speaker 5: while you were signing those.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Because they didn't want to give up the assets they wanted.
- 34:22Speaker 11: To get it.
- 34:22Speaker 5: So don't tell me that they did that.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Okay, but they also believe that those assets are part
- 34:27Speaker 1: of building this team. Back to contention, they didn't want
- 34:29Speaker 1: to give up those assets. I'm just saying that if
- 34:35Speaker 1: Bill stays, I believe we need a personnel guy that
- 34:39Speaker 1: answers to the crafts not to build.
- 34:41Speaker 11: But does it just as a response to that, like,
- 34:44Speaker 11: does that give that personal guy control of the ninety
- 34:46Speaker 11: man roster?
- 34:48Speaker 3: Because essentially, yes, under your guys, Like that's why I
- 34:51Speaker 3: said we have to play it hypothetically. Yeah, so Bill
- 34:53Speaker 3: is completely saying, you guys do whatever you want with
- 34:56Speaker 3: the personnel.
- 34:57Speaker 1: No, of course he has input, no, no, but I'm.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Saying that's the only way it would work.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:01Speaker 3: I just don't think he wants to coach a team.
- 35:03Speaker 3: I don't think he thinks that the fancy wide receivers
- 35:06Speaker 3: are the way to go about it. Well, and like
- 35:08Speaker 3: I said the year before, like part of his job
- 35:11Speaker 3: should have been to understand where things were going. So
- 35:15Speaker 3: just because you got Hunter Henry and John Hi Smith
- 35:18Speaker 3: and paid fifty million dollars for these tight ends that
- 35:20Speaker 3: aren't worth that amount of money. They're not the kind
- 35:23Speaker 3: of playmakers. The next year you had top flight weapons
- 35:29Speaker 3: changing teams, multiple top flight weapons with Brown in hill
- 35:34Speaker 3: In Adams and even Hollywood. Brown, for God's sakes, would
- 35:38Speaker 3: be an improvement over what you have speed wise, and
- 35:41Speaker 3: he like that's part of being a good GM is
- 35:44Speaker 3: recognizing where that market's.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Going and going forward. Somebody else would be the ultimate
- 35:49Speaker 1: decider of that.
- 35:51Speaker 11: I just don't think he'll be the head coach if
- 35:52Speaker 11: that's the way you go.
- 35:53Speaker 1: And that might be true, you might be right, but
- 35:55Speaker 1: that's what's but I believe that's how you need to go.
- 35:59Speaker 11: I don't know, because I still believe.
- 36:00Speaker 1: He's the best head coach in the league. I do.
- 36:04Speaker 3: I haven't really thought that in a while, to be
- 36:06Speaker 3: honest with you. I see other teams that have talent
- 36:09Speaker 3: that's you know, not as not as great as what
- 36:12Speaker 3: the Patriots had in their heyday.
- 36:13Speaker 10: And that's it for me, Paul, I mean, that's what
- 36:16Speaker 10: does a coach do?
- 36:17Speaker 1: You know?
- 36:17Speaker 9: Like if it was coach have said, I said one
- 36:19Speaker 9: hundred times last week, is elevate that personnel.
- 36:21Speaker 10: But I just think it's.
- 36:23Speaker 9: Funny because we're kind of coming back to the Terry
- 36:24Speaker 9: Glenn Bill Parcells craft thing. Like it just sounds like
- 36:26Speaker 9: we're going you know what I mean, Like that's that's
- 36:28Speaker 9: that's what happened, right well, I mean, but but no
- 36:30Speaker 9: one else went and tried to get what happened.
- 36:32Speaker 1: When Robert Kraft sided with Bobby Greer. He Robert Kraft
- 36:36Speaker 1: had a personnel guy, and he said, if I'm going
- 36:38Speaker 1: to spend all this money to my scouting department, we're
- 36:41Speaker 1: going to listen to what they say.
- 36:43Speaker 3: But I think it comes back to I don't know
- 36:46Speaker 3: if you meant to make this point. It's a philosophy
- 36:48Speaker 3: with that position. Yeah, I think it goes back. It
- 36:51Speaker 3: goes back that far. That's not how you do it.
- 36:54Speaker 3: And as much as I love Parcels, Parcels was wrong,
- 36:57Speaker 3: Terry Glenn was how you do it. Now he ended
- 37:00Speaker 3: up being right because Terry Glenn wasn't mature enough to
- 37:03Speaker 3: handle things off the field, but he showed you immediately
- 37:06Speaker 3: that he could play and was a big part of
- 37:08Speaker 3: a team that went.
- 37:09Speaker 1: To the Super Bowl.
- 37:09Speaker 11: I also would just say that to me, it's also
- 37:12Speaker 11: not just about receivers. What they've done with the tackles
- 37:16Speaker 11: over the last couple of years is malpractice. Like they
- 37:18Speaker 11: went into the season with Riley Reef and Calvin Anderson
- 37:21Speaker 11: is their top two options at right tackle, and now
- 37:23Speaker 11: they have to play a guy that they traded for
- 37:26Speaker 11: who is gonna get cut by the team that he
- 37:27Speaker 11: was on previously, and Vederian Low can't block anybody again.
- 37:34Speaker 1: All of the above is why I believe you need
- 37:36Speaker 1: a guy now who has that autonomy.
- 37:39Speaker 3: But I needed to be the coach because I don't
- 37:42Speaker 3: trust it's just some random.
- 37:44Speaker 5: Guy to be well in lockstep with the coach.
- 37:47Speaker 1: But that works on a lot of teams.
- 37:49Speaker 3: No, but I don't think that Bill is gonna be
- 37:53Speaker 3: lockstep with mac Growe like, okay, I have control now, Okay,
- 37:57Speaker 3: Now we're gonna do the Evan plan and we're gonna
- 37:59Speaker 3: get weapons, So we're going to get tackles, and we're
- 38:01Speaker 3: going to get maybe some defensive lineman that can move
- 38:03Speaker 3: and not just take up space.
- 38:05Speaker 5: I don't think Bill will be on board with that.
- 38:06Speaker 11: Yeah, I just you had a quarterback in mac Jones
- 38:10Speaker 11: that has his limitations. We all can see that. We
- 38:13Speaker 11: can all tell that he is not going to be
- 38:16Speaker 11: the driving force that's going to win you football games.
- 38:19Speaker 11: So when you look at his limitations, like the number
- 38:22Speaker 11: one thing with his limitations is a lack of mobility,
- 38:25Speaker 11: in a lack of arm talent. So what do you
- 38:27Speaker 11: need to do? You need to protect him and you
- 38:29Speaker 11: need to create bigger passing lanes because he's not going
- 38:32Speaker 11: to throw guys open. He's not going to scramble and
- 38:35Speaker 11: make these great plays off platform and stuff like that.
- 38:38Speaker 11: So you need to make it easier for him. You
- 38:42Speaker 11: need to protect him, and you need to get guys
- 38:43Speaker 11: that can get open. They don't have either one of
- 38:46Speaker 11: those boxes checked. And so unless you're telling me that,
- 38:49Speaker 11: there's so few quarterbacks that succeed pretty much regardless of
- 38:55Speaker 11: the environment that they are in. Even this year with Mahomes,
- 38:58Speaker 11: he's starting to, you know, feel some of the growing
- 39:01Speaker 11: pains of that offense and not having Tyreek and not
- 39:04Speaker 11: having all the weapons that they've had in the past.
- 39:07Speaker 11: So at some point you have to look at that
- 39:09Speaker 11: and say that.
- 39:10Speaker 1: But it sounds to me. It sounds to me what
- 39:12Speaker 1: you're saying is I want a Mike McDaniel Sean McVay
- 39:15Speaker 1: type of head coach.
- 39:16Speaker 2: One.
- 39:18Speaker 5: You need someone that's what I want. Ben Johnson.
- 39:21Speaker 11: Ben Johnson's a good one.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I like the where is he right now? Off?
- 39:27Speaker 11: I like Waldron and Seattle too. I think he does
- 39:30Speaker 11: a lot of creative him.
- 39:31Speaker 5: Well he was here, Yeah, he was the Cardinals.
- 39:35Speaker 3: My fear Paul's Wellesley guy from the Cardinals who evidently
- 39:38Speaker 3: can light up even the Niners.
- 39:40Speaker 11: My guess is that if you have a new coach
- 39:42Speaker 11: in here next year, then you're gonna have a new
- 39:44Speaker 11: quarterback as well. Yeah, and if that those two things happen,
- 39:47Speaker 11: I don't like the idea of a defensive minded head
- 39:49Speaker 11: coach developing that quarterback unless you're telling it would be
- 39:53Speaker 11: Bill O'Brien. I guess I like that a little bit better.
- 39:56Speaker 11: But how long is Bill O'Brien going to be here for?
- 39:58Speaker 11: Because if he leaves the guy just like Josh McDaniels
- 40:01Speaker 11: did after one year, then.
- 40:02Speaker 5: Bill O'Brien already looks like a guy who might be gone.
- 40:04Speaker 3: In his reports that say that he's sort of in
- 40:07Speaker 3: line that Michigan State job.
- 40:08Speaker 5: Oh really, I don't.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Wow.
- 40:10Speaker 9: There's just one more thing that I just want to
- 40:11Speaker 9: bring up with this, like, cause next year they're going
- 40:14Speaker 9: to have at least three openings on their referensive line.
- 40:16Speaker 9: They're gonna have no tight ends, and they have remandre
- 40:19Speaker 9: As they're running back, and you want to call Kevin
- 40:21Speaker 9: Harrison there too.
- 40:22Speaker 5: But they'll be going into his last year, so there's.
- 40:24Speaker 9: Huge lifting to be done outside of the quarterback and
- 40:27Speaker 9: the weapons I would, you know, And so in some
- 40:30Speaker 9: ways I feel like, oh, it's a little bit of
- 40:31Speaker 9: an opportunity, but I also just wonder, like how much
- 40:34Speaker 9: resources do you have to add two tackles, some running
- 40:38Speaker 9: maybe two running backs, but this is waterbacks, you.
- 40:41Speaker 11: Know, Like, this is why I can't spend money on
- 40:43Speaker 11: nose tackles and guards, right like, this is why, this
- 40:46Speaker 11: is why the resources need to be allocated properly, because
- 40:49Speaker 11: there is a lot of things that need to be fixed.
- 40:51Speaker 9: By the way Paul, the Patriots have fallen to thirty
- 40:55Speaker 9: second in special teams in DVOA, so they are there
- 40:57Speaker 9: officially the last place team.
- 40:59Speaker 5: And funny how finding how Paul was ahead of the
- 41:01Speaker 5: curve on.
- 41:01Speaker 11: That a lot of that is because of Missfield.
- 41:04Speaker 13: I feel like they could have been shipping away at
- 41:06Speaker 13: some of this stuff that you that you brought brought
- 41:08Speaker 13: up just now, Mike. I feel like, but they've been
- 41:11Speaker 13: focusing on other things that You're like, why are they
- 41:13Speaker 13: resigning this person, Why are they bringing in this person?
- 41:15Speaker 13: They could have been shipping away at some of these
- 41:17Speaker 13: holes that are going to be there next year as
- 41:18Speaker 13: well as but I think.
- 41:19Speaker 11: That they in some ways. I think that some of
- 41:22Speaker 11: these positions that they value a little bit more than
- 41:25Speaker 11: other people are filled. Like I think that you will
- 41:28Speaker 11: have guards because you drafted like sixteen of them, and
- 41:32Speaker 11: you have Cold Strange under contract too. I think you
- 41:35Speaker 11: will have defensive linemen here next year that can play.
- 41:39Speaker 11: I don't think you need to go out and spend
- 41:41Speaker 11: twenty million dollars on a defensive end next year. So
- 41:45Speaker 11: I think that there are places. You know, Grushena Gonzales
- 41:47Speaker 11: will be back and will be healthy as your number
- 41:50Speaker 11: one corner. So those some of these boxes have been
- 41:52Speaker 11: checked already, but they just ignore the other the more
- 41:57Speaker 11: important boxes. They they things that they have prioritized are
- 42:02Speaker 11: just not things that are worth priorit prioritizing, and and
- 42:06Speaker 11: and on top of that, you know, we go back
- 42:08Speaker 11: to those Day two draft picks all the time from
- 42:10Speaker 11: this past draft. Kean White played nine snaps before the
- 42:14Speaker 11: game got out of hand in this game. Marty mop
- 42:17Speaker 11: who played a little bit more in this game. But
- 42:19Speaker 11: that's a player that's like the fourth safety on this
- 42:22Speaker 11: team right now.
- 42:24Speaker 5: They had and I haven't really know, like key On White,
- 42:26Speaker 5: at least in his limited snaps.
- 42:27Speaker 3: I notice him. I haven't really noticed much from Mapoo
- 42:30Speaker 3: other than him hitting Wattle in the head.
- 42:33Speaker 11: They just had they had more pressing needs than than
- 42:36Speaker 11: those two positions.
- 42:37Speaker 5: Yeah, oh no, I totally agree.
- 42:38Speaker 11: And so now that now they're they're in a spot where,
- 42:42Speaker 11: you know, Marty Maphu might end up being a nice
- 42:44Speaker 11: player for them down the line. But he's not playing
- 42:47Speaker 11: over Jabriel Peppers, he's not playing over Kyle Duggar.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Uh.
- 42:50Speaker 11: You know, he's starting now to play over Adrian Phillips.
- 42:54Speaker 11: But like he's your third safety at best, Whereas you
- 42:57Speaker 11: know with some of the guys that have panned out
- 43:00Speaker 11: in the draft, like that could have been Marvin Mims,
- 43:02Speaker 11: or that could have been Dowan Jones or that you know,
- 43:04Speaker 11: that could have been a player that could help you
- 43:06Speaker 11: immediately to.
- 43:08Speaker 9: The other receiver, Josh Downs, Like yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 5: I like, but I mean Rice from Knall, who's making
- 43:13Speaker 5: some place.
- 43:13Speaker 9: We're up the edge though, I mean Wucha is a
- 43:15Speaker 9: free agent. Judan will now be coming off of major
- 43:18Speaker 9: injury at thirty two next year.
- 43:21Speaker 11: So that's what you got.
- 43:22Speaker 3: So that's part of it, Like that, can I know
- 43:24Speaker 3: there's been a lot made of they have a lot
- 43:26Speaker 3: of money, and they're gonna have a lot of cap space,
- 43:29Speaker 3: and they'll have a lot of money to spend next year.
- 43:31Speaker 3: But what I worry about is retaining too many of
- 43:36Speaker 3: those guys. And I'm not suggesting you let them all go,
- 43:39Speaker 3: But how much money do you have to eat a
- 43:41Speaker 3: way to retain dougg er if you do.
- 43:44Speaker 5: And to Evan's point, maybe you don't need to. Even
- 43:47Speaker 5: though I love.
- 43:47Speaker 3: Kyle Dugar, I think he's a really good player. But
- 43:50Speaker 3: maybe if you have Mapu and you know you want
- 43:53Speaker 3: to have him have a bigger role next year, you
- 43:56Speaker 3: can you can let him go. Yeah, I'm not as
- 43:58Speaker 3: high on you a guy as.
- 43:59Speaker 5: You are, but are you really like you?
- 44:01Speaker 3: Really don't like Petrost I think is just a thoroughly
- 44:04Speaker 3: average player who makes a big hit or two every week,
- 44:07Speaker 3: and he's.
- 44:08Speaker 10: Made a lot of play since he's been here. I
- 44:09Speaker 10: think you're being I thought.
- 44:10Speaker 3: The play he made on the screen pass two weeks
- 44:12Speaker 3: ago was the best player that I've seen him make as.
- 44:14Speaker 11: A page of it, poor Randall Cob.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought that was the best play I've seen
- 44:18Speaker 3: him make his I haven't seen a lot of those.
- 44:20Speaker 10: Gree To disagree.
- 44:21Speaker 5: That's what I mean. That's okay, That's what I mean.
- 44:22Speaker 3: That's what we're all here for, right, We're all we're
- 44:24Speaker 3: all here to talk about different things like a when
- 44:27Speaker 3: you like, do you re sign him? Or do you say, no,
- 44:30Speaker 3: I got Mafi? I got So one of these guys
- 44:32Speaker 3: should be able to be like, that's what you hope for.
- 44:36Speaker 11: I think.
- 44:36Speaker 5: But at the same time, Freddy Guy guy, you need
- 44:39Speaker 5: guys to fill in.
- 44:40Speaker 11: Fred's GM guy would look at the guard situation and
- 44:44Speaker 11: be like, you know, Mafi can play right in. That
- 44:48Speaker 11: would be that would be what they would roll And
- 44:51Speaker 11: that might be what the Patriots roll with. But are
- 44:53Speaker 11: they going to use the ten million dollars of not
- 44:55Speaker 11: signing Mike on WINU Like, where are they going to
- 44:58Speaker 11: put that money? Because this offseas and they put that
- 45:00Speaker 11: money on signing like thirty average players and you know,
- 45:05Speaker 11: and not actually moving the needles.
- 45:07Speaker 1: So that's when I'm thinking about the head. Because I
- 45:10Speaker 1: was doing the block, I was getting killed. I mean,
- 45:13Speaker 1: the natives were restless. I mean, I was getting into fights.
- 45:17Speaker 1: It was terri I wasn't getting in fights. With people's
- 45:21Speaker 1: opinion about what we're talking about. It's just the venom
- 45:24Speaker 1: that they were. And I'm like, people, I think somebody
- 45:27Speaker 1: actually screenshot at one of my cars. I said, it's
- 45:30Speaker 1: not about who's right or who's wrong at this point,
- 45:33Speaker 1: why the venom? It's just football, I said, unless your
- 45:37Speaker 1: kid's future is tied up in this game, why are
- 45:39Speaker 1: we like going nuts here? I mean, it was really
- 45:43Speaker 1: getting nasty, you know.
- 45:45Speaker 9: I guess we're lucky at our halftime talks. They weren't
- 45:47Speaker 9: they They weren't you?
- 45:49Speaker 5: Mike and I had to spin, I know, and I
- 45:51Speaker 5: heard it wasn't pretty.
- 45:55Speaker 11: Old kids if we're going to get you know, And obviously.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Most of it was Mac. That's where the venom was.
- 46:02Speaker 1: I was pointed, as far as Mac goes, I'm still
- 46:06Speaker 1: willing to give it this season.
- 46:09Speaker 5: I don't think you really have a choice.
- 46:10Speaker 1: You know. But but you know what I mean, like
- 46:13Speaker 1: in terms of the fifth year option and all that,
- 46:15Speaker 1: I'm not like, there are people right now that city
- 46:17Speaker 1: that's it. He's out. I mean, people were saying cut
- 46:20Speaker 1: him after the game. I'm serious, I'm one hundred cut
- 46:24Speaker 1: him after the game.
- 46:26Speaker 3: If you had an option, I could understand that, but
- 46:28Speaker 3: you don't, Well, they don't care what I'm saying is,
- 46:32Speaker 3: but I'm trying to look at it realistically from the
- 46:34Speaker 3: other point of view, just because I disagree with it,
- 46:36Speaker 3: like I wouldn't, I wouldn't be doing that. But if
- 46:39Speaker 3: like Will Greer was here the whole year and you
- 46:40Speaker 3: just said, you know, we got to get him a
- 46:42Speaker 3: chance to play, like I think they have an idea
- 46:44Speaker 3: of Zappy. I think they're telling you what they think
- 46:46Speaker 3: of Zappy on multiple fronts.
- 46:48Speaker 5: They've already cut.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Them, and they're bringing in anybody with a pulse to
- 46:51Speaker 3: come in and try to be the number two guy. Right,
- 46:54Speaker 3: it was Matt Corral, it was Ian Book, and now
- 46:57Speaker 3: it's Will Greer. Like, clearly they're looking for a number
- 46:59Speaker 3: two option that's better than Bailey Zappy. So if one
- 47:03Speaker 3: of those guys was around for like the whole year
- 47:05Speaker 3: and knew the whole system, I wouldn't tell you that
- 47:07Speaker 3: that's foolish.
- 47:08Speaker 5: But you don't have any options. But your options are
- 47:10Speaker 5: play a guy that I already caught.
- 47:12Speaker 1: No, I don't like obviously the who's not ready. They're
- 47:15Speaker 1: giving up of the season, and they're saying that out
- 47:16Speaker 1: of spite. You know, they're throwing the baby out with
- 47:19Speaker 1: the bath wash, bath water. You know so, and I
- 47:24Speaker 1: understand where they're coming from, but that's the level that
- 47:26Speaker 1: we were at. You know, I'm I'm not there. I'm saying,
- 47:30Speaker 1: let's just see what this kid can do the.
- 47:32Speaker 5: Rest of them, because she sounded like you were there
- 47:34Speaker 5: at the beginning of the ship.
- 47:35Speaker 1: I mean, but I can talk about particulate.
- 47:38Speaker 10: I'll jump on this grenade.
- 47:39Speaker 9: But I mean, I for me, with all the holes
- 47:41Speaker 9: that they have and all the conversations we've had about
- 47:44Speaker 9: are they realistically going to get Drake? May you know
- 47:47Speaker 9: they're not gonna get Caleb in the first overall. Like
- 47:49Speaker 9: to me right now where I sit, I still think
- 47:51Speaker 9: Mac is a quarterback next year, and you've got to
- 47:53Speaker 9: do everything you're saying.
- 47:54Speaker 1: They're not gonna get Caleb Williams first overall, they're in
- 47:56Speaker 1: the running.
- 47:57Speaker 9: Well, if if he gets to that point, then then
- 47:59Speaker 9: now you do it. But I think you keep playing
- 48:01Speaker 9: Mac and then you see.
- 48:03Speaker 11: I think, just being realistic, Fred, I think it's easier
- 48:07Speaker 11: to get Fred.
- 48:08Speaker 9: You're I think it'll be easier to get one of
- 48:10Speaker 9: the top wide receivers, then it will be to get
- 48:12Speaker 9: one of the top quarterbacks. And you will never draft
- 48:14Speaker 9: a wide receiver in the top that's that's that's fair.
- 48:17Speaker 10: Never But if you're.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Going with somebody new, just like off the top of
- 48:21Speaker 3: your head, don't give it any thought. What do you
- 48:23Speaker 3: think the Patriots record will be when.
- 48:24Speaker 5: The season's over?
- 48:25Speaker 10: Eight and nine?
- 48:26Speaker 3: Okay, So that's why you don't think there's any chance
- 48:29Speaker 3: to get a quote. I think they're on the way
- 48:31Speaker 3: to like a like a five five winning team. And
- 48:33Speaker 3: if you are, you're in the top five.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Yeah. And what killed me was losing Judaon and Gonzales
- 48:38Speaker 1: because that your defense was your hope. At this point,
- 48:41Speaker 1: you I'm saying the ceiling right now is six and eleven.
- 48:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say that like that those nine gets.
- 48:49Speaker 3: So let's don't count Buffalo twice, Miami and Kansas City.
- 48:53Speaker 3: I think we'd all agree. You can pull an upset.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Upsets happened in the league all the time. Arizona just
- 48:58Speaker 3: beat Dallas, right, But those four games that gives you
- 49:01Speaker 3: seven losses. So the other nine games you have three, Yeah,
- 49:07Speaker 3: well that's not getting you eight n like seven and two.
- 49:12Speaker 5: I'm literally all games.
- 49:15Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, I'm not trying to talk you
- 49:17Speaker 3: out of it. Mike, I'm trying to say, like you
- 49:20Speaker 3: think they can go eight and nine. I think Fred
- 49:22Speaker 3: and I are kind of at the six win thing
- 49:24Speaker 3: because when I see nine games that I would say
- 49:27Speaker 3: like New Orleans, Vegas, Denver, Pittsburgh, Indye, Washington, you know,
- 49:34Speaker 3: the Jets, the Chargers, and the Giants. Those are the
- 49:38Speaker 3: other nine games I see five and four or four
- 49:41Speaker 3: and five. I think it's a I think every one
- 49:44Speaker 3: of those games could go either way, and when you
- 49:46Speaker 3: have a lot of games that could go either way,
- 49:48Speaker 3: they generally go either way. I don't think they'll lose
- 49:52Speaker 3: them all, but I think it's highly unrealistic to expect
- 49:55Speaker 3: them to go eight and one in those nine games.
- 49:57Speaker 9: Well, if they get to go to go nine and
- 49:59Speaker 9: eight eight nine, if they get to that point though,
- 50:02Speaker 9: they even changes it.
- 50:03Speaker 10: I mean it changes everything.
- 50:04Speaker 9: There's not gonna be, you know, a drum breaf beat
- 50:07Speaker 9: to bring this team back if they win five or
- 50:09Speaker 9: six games this season, I mean it'll be it'll be turnover.
- 50:11Speaker 10: I mean, no, it's gonna be the other thing that is.
- 50:13Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but I just want to fit the other
- 50:15Speaker 1: thing that it has me losing my hope a little,
- 50:17Speaker 1: because remember I started this season with no expectations but hope.
- 50:21Speaker 1: And the reason why I'm losing that hope is because
- 50:23Speaker 1: I don't see what's gonna happen on offense that's gonna
- 50:26Speaker 1: fix it. You know, every week so far, I've been saying, Okay,
- 50:30Speaker 1: this is the week they're gonna start turning things around.
- 50:33Speaker 1: I don't see what's gonna happen on offense that's gonna
- 50:36Speaker 1: make things better. I don't see it. Please, someone tell
- 50:40Speaker 1: me where the only thing that's gonna happen, but I
- 50:43Speaker 1: don't see it.
- 50:44Speaker 11: The only thing that I can give you, because you
- 50:46Speaker 11: asked for it, is please. The offensive line should be
- 50:51Speaker 11: better than this the Like. I'm not saying that they
- 50:55Speaker 11: are going to be an elite, top five offensive line.
- 50:58Speaker 11: They should not be the worst offense line in the NFL.
- 51:01Speaker 5: They just shouldn't.
- 51:02Speaker 11: And if you can figure out a better solution at
- 51:04Speaker 11: right tackle than Vederian Low and maybe get cold strange
- 51:09Speaker 11: to you know, be good. Yeah again or I don't
- 51:13Speaker 11: even know if again is the right word. That they
- 51:15Speaker 11: should be better on the line moving forward.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Okay, they should be.
- 51:19Speaker 11: And if you are, then you're looking at a team
- 51:22Speaker 11: that's you know, maybe a little bit more, running the
- 51:25Speaker 11: football a little bit better and doing some of those
- 51:27Speaker 11: little things a little bit better. And are they going
- 51:29Speaker 11: to be explosive and put up thirty points a game? No,
- 51:31Speaker 11: of course not so, but that's a place to start.
- 51:34Speaker 1: You know, there were very few givens when it came
- 51:36Speaker 1: to the offense going into the season, but one of
- 51:38Speaker 1: them was, oh, we think we got a pretty good
- 51:40Speaker 1: back of Ramandre Stevenson. But even he's having trouble right now.
- 51:44Speaker 1: And you could chalk it up to just the line
- 51:47Speaker 1: in front of him, but he just doesn't look right.
- 51:49Speaker 10: Yeah, you know, I don't know.
- 51:50Speaker 9: I think that there's also just a degree of when
- 51:53Speaker 9: a football offense isn't playing well, it all looks terrible, right,
- 51:56Speaker 9: looks terrible, right, And you know there's and I'm not
- 51:58Speaker 9: saying that they're going to be even good, but it'll
- 52:01Speaker 9: be it'll be better.
- 52:02Speaker 1: And that's what you have coaches for, and that's what
- 52:05Speaker 1: you know, Monday through Saturdays for is to get it's
- 52:08Speaker 1: just to hey, let's calm down, let's break it down,
- 52:11Speaker 1: let's watch exactly what this is, why this happened, you
- 52:14Speaker 1: can fix this, you know, I just don't know. On
- 52:17Speaker 1: offense what that is at this point or if it
- 52:19Speaker 1: can be. But you know, I'll go with Evan. Let's
- 52:22Speaker 1: say the line plays well. That answers a lot of questions.
- 52:25Speaker 1: If they can start playing better, that's time, gives maxim
- 52:28Speaker 1: time open some holes.
- 52:29Speaker 3: And I think that's realistic. As they play more together,
- 52:33Speaker 3: they should get better, right. I just don't know if
- 52:36Speaker 3: that's the difference between you know, three more scores, four
- 52:39Speaker 3: more scores of a game, which they need to do
- 52:41Speaker 3: to get to an average level of offense.
- 52:43Speaker 11: I think that they need to do something drastic on
- 52:45Speaker 11: the offensive line, drastic like kicking on winter to tackle.
- 52:50Speaker 11: I think you kick on win to tackle.
- 52:52Speaker 1: By the way, had one of his worst games.
- 52:54Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm not worried about him. I think that I
- 52:56Speaker 11: think it's getting a little bit overblown how bad he
- 52:58Speaker 11: was Collins.
- 53:01Speaker 3: If he's healthy, I guess supposedly he passed a physical.
- 53:05Speaker 3: I mean that might have been agent speak from his agent.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Who knows.
- 53:09Speaker 11: I think you're at the point with the other last.
- 53:11Speaker 5: Guy they signed didn't pass a physical.
- 53:13Speaker 11: That guy and then Marklin McCall, hello, goodbye.
- 53:15Speaker 5: It's amazing how he remembers the name he loved that guy.
- 53:17Speaker 11: Yeah, I think you're at the point now where you
- 53:22Speaker 11: have four games to judge in two of Darian Lowe,
- 53:26Speaker 11: where this this is not the NFL caliber.
- 53:29Speaker 3: It was like he played like he played left tackle
- 53:31Speaker 3: the first game and you're like, hey, like the game
- 53:33Speaker 3: didn't fall apart, He's okay, and then you're like three
- 53:37Speaker 3: games in a row now, and it just I.
- 53:39Speaker 9: Kind of brought it up like it reflects really poorly
- 53:41Speaker 9: on Calvin Anderson, who I think we all were kind
- 53:43Speaker 9: of like, this is the guy that they're bringing in
- 53:45Speaker 9: that they have some kind of designs on because they
- 53:47Speaker 9: didn't really sign anyone else. I mean, we know what
- 53:49Speaker 9: Riley Reef was, and that's a like maybe hold the
- 53:52Speaker 9: fort for a few games kind of a guy. But
- 53:54Speaker 9: those are the moves that they were kind of trumpeting.
- 53:55Speaker 9: And now that guy can't beat Vederian low out it, right,
- 53:59Speaker 9: So you want to give it's a great point. You
- 54:00Speaker 9: want to have a little hope.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Yes, a team that lost just coming, a team that
- 54:04Speaker 1: lost seventy to nothing two weeks ago came back. It
- 54:07Speaker 1: came from behind and won a game.
- 54:09Speaker 3: It was seventy to twenty first of all, but they
- 54:12Speaker 3: came from behind and beat a winless team. Okay, but
- 54:15Speaker 3: that hasn't won.
- 54:15Speaker 1: But they didn't collect.
- 54:16Speaker 5: The last game that team won was was when they
- 54:18Speaker 5: be They didn't collapse.
- 54:19Speaker 1: Even when they started, and even when they started losing
- 54:22Speaker 1: the game after giving up seventy points, you know, it
- 54:25Speaker 1: looked like they were gonna it was another one. They
- 54:27Speaker 1: still came back. So there's hope.
- 54:29Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 54:29Speaker 10: I don't want to get the you know.
- 54:30Speaker 13: But we still have yet to see this team be
- 54:32Speaker 13: able to do that.
- 54:34Speaker 3: And I have no illusions that what you saw Sunday
- 54:36Speaker 3: is what the team is. I don't think it's all
- 54:37Speaker 3: but it's not.
- 54:39Speaker 10: That was bad, but it's not all of a sudden
- 54:41Speaker 10: the two thousand and seven Patriot, like you know.
- 54:42Speaker 5: But if you're asking if they were playing Buffalo this week,
- 54:44Speaker 5: but I give them a chance.
- 54:45Speaker 11: No move on, when to tackle? Start mafia right guard,
- 54:50Speaker 11: get Cold Strange back at left guard, and let's see
- 54:53Speaker 11: what it looks like that those are five offensive linemen
- 54:56Speaker 11: that I think are NFL caliber players. I do not
- 54:59Speaker 11: think that Vederian Lowe as an NFL caliber player. So
- 55:03Speaker 11: at least you have five guys that you know can
- 55:06Speaker 11: play at this level. And I'm along with a lot
- 55:11Speaker 11: of other offensive coaches that I could call out right now,
- 55:13Speaker 11: like Adrian Clem's got to start making his money. Like,
- 55:17Speaker 11: you had a lot of injuries, you had poor continuity
- 55:20Speaker 11: all summer long. I get all of that, but at
- 55:22Speaker 11: some point in time, you're four weeks into the season.
- 55:24Speaker 11: Now you've had relatively the same group for a couple
- 55:28Speaker 11: of weeks. You got to start seeing some results from
- 55:30Speaker 11: the line. Because the the run game. I still have
- 55:34Speaker 11: scheme questions with the run game, but in general, you
- 55:37Speaker 11: got to block some people, like you know that. That's
- 55:39Speaker 11: how you get this thing going. It is improve upfront.
- 55:42Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, eight five to five past five hundred
- 55:45Speaker 1: is the ACE ticket, hutline, web radio at pages dot
- 55:47Speaker 1: com is the email address. Obviously a lot of people
- 55:50Speaker 1: want to wag in here, So let's get going Collins
- 55:52Speaker 1: in Texas. What's up Colin?
- 55:55Speaker 15: Hey, guys, just had two points in wanting to end
- 55:58Speaker 15: up a positive notice you give me the time. So really,
- 56:01Speaker 15: just the first thing I was at the game and
- 56:04Speaker 15: just the forty percent Patriots fans, they're just disappointing.
- 56:07Speaker 1: There were a lot of Patriots fans yep.
- 56:10Speaker 15: Yeah, So I mean you're walking around and we were
- 56:12Speaker 15: at the game like eight years ago whenever they were here,
- 56:14Speaker 15: and we're walking out Canton Brady, you know, going through
- 56:17Speaker 15: the halls, and it's just it was glorious and this
- 56:19Speaker 15: was one hundred and eighty degrees opposite of what it was.
- 56:23Speaker 15: And it's just disappointing too, because you watch that first
- 56:25Speaker 15: half of the Cardinals game and they're putting them a fight,
- 56:28Speaker 15: you know, and they're they're trying to actively give away
- 56:31Speaker 15: assets and build for the future in tank, if you will,
- 56:34Speaker 15: and we're we're not even keeping up with that, you know,
- 56:36Speaker 15: and it's just it's.
- 56:37Speaker 7: A shame.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Yep.
- 56:40Speaker 3: And I think that's where where Evan and I started with,
- 56:44Speaker 3: you know, the Keon Whites and the and the mapus
- 56:46Speaker 3: of the world like you can quote unquote tank and
- 56:49Speaker 3: I know that no one will ever use that word.
- 56:52Speaker 3: And play your butt off, just like Arizona is and
- 56:55Speaker 3: and they're playing really hard, but they've stripped away some guys.
- 56:58Speaker 3: That might be the difference between i mean winning and
- 57:01Speaker 3: losing some of these close games.
- 57:02Speaker 9: I like to tank, where you're playing players that are
- 57:04Speaker 9: promising and you're just like, look, we're just gonna go
- 57:06Speaker 9: for it, and a Kem White does what he did
- 57:08Speaker 9: last week and rushes upfield.
- 57:09Speaker 10: And loses his gap and some you know, they run
- 57:11Speaker 10: right by him.
- 57:11Speaker 11: All right, we'll live with it.
- 57:12Speaker 10: Let's let them make these mistakes now for the future.
- 57:14Speaker 3: And the Judon thing that I would worry about is
- 57:18Speaker 3: so they gave him a little They give him a
- 57:19Speaker 3: little bump this year to get him back in training camp. Right,
- 57:22Speaker 3: So what happens the year after that, it's the stuff
- 57:25Speaker 3: becomes Stefan Gilmour and that guy ends up being gone.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Now maybe in a warped way, the injury helps you
- 57:31Speaker 3: there because he's gonna have a hard time saying I
- 57:33Speaker 3: need more money when I only played four games.
- 57:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so who knows what else? Colin?
- 57:38Speaker 15: Yeah, And I mean we walked away saying we should
- 57:40Speaker 15: have just forfeited, you know, because we would have still
- 57:42Speaker 15: had Gonza positive.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Note.
- 57:46Speaker 15: I did visit the Hall of Patriots place and just
- 57:49Speaker 15: want to let everybody know it's it's all it's cracked
- 57:51Speaker 15: up to be. I even ran into Samara and Mike
- 57:55Speaker 15: and Paul there.
- 57:55Speaker 10: And it was often to you guys, And so you
- 57:58Speaker 10: get an autograph from play.
- 58:00Speaker 15: So if you're if you're trying to try to get
- 58:02Speaker 15: the positivity back in your life. Go to the hall,
- 58:04Speaker 15: you know, live through the past joys and you guys
- 58:06Speaker 15: are a wonderful day, all right?
- 58:07Speaker 3: Thanks Bill Peppers exhibit what's that past statue from Chey?
- 58:17Speaker 15: So I'll make a quick point, and I got a
- 58:19Speaker 15: question for everyone. I'm with you, Freddy, let's crash for Caleb,
- 58:22Speaker 15: Let's rip this thing down to the freaking studs and
- 58:25Speaker 15: start over. New head coach, new quarterbacks, new GM. Let's
- 58:30Speaker 15: do it.
- 58:31Speaker 6: My question though, is why do you think.
- 58:33Speaker 15: And I'm not just our team specifically, but why do
- 58:38Speaker 15: you think there's so many injuries in the NFL like
- 58:41Speaker 15: over the past few years. Is it because of the
- 58:43Speaker 15: CBA agreement and now they're they've practiced year round.
- 58:47Speaker 1: I think the time.
- 58:49Speaker 15: Didn't change, like they still have the same amount of time,
- 58:52Speaker 15: but before it was you went to training camp and
- 58:54Speaker 15: that was it.
- 58:55Speaker 1: I think there's always I think, are there any more
- 58:58Speaker 1: this year than any other year?
- 58:59Speaker 10: Don't know, I'm not that I've clocked.
- 59:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I think we do this every year, and I
- 59:04Speaker 3: don't have the information in front of me, so Patty
- 59:06Speaker 3: could have it right, But I feel like, you know,
- 59:09Speaker 3: like Tredevious White was like the most recent one.
- 59:12Speaker 5: You know, he goes down with the.
- 59:13Speaker 1: Torn achilles Aaron Rodgers.
- 59:16Speaker 3: But it does seem like there's a lot of serious
- 59:19Speaker 3: injuries to you know, high profile players. But I don't
- 59:23Speaker 3: think there's any more than normal.
- 59:24Speaker 10: Those two injuries to Gonze, I mean those are yeah, just.
- 59:27Speaker 5: Kind of falling down.
- 59:27Speaker 3: That's weird, like to me, like the Marcus Jones and
- 59:31Speaker 3: Gonzales torn Labraham for both of them, kind of that's
- 59:36Speaker 3: weird to me.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Well, it's it's funny. There's certain years that like there's
- 59:40Speaker 1: a rash of certain injuries. Like one year it's all hamstrings,
- 59:43Speaker 1: this year it's all arms and shoulders.
- 59:45Speaker 10: Remember the thumb year. Those a year where like there
- 59:46Speaker 10: were like three or four guys that all had broken Yeah,
- 59:49Speaker 10: it's it's.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Weird how that happens. Sometimes One more and then we'll
- 59:52Speaker 1: go to Paul's Food, Donnie's and Pittsburgh. What's up Donnie?
- 59:55Speaker 16: So mean to me, Hey, thanks for taking the golf thankfully.
- 59:59Speaker 16: Still embarrassing films equally this week. So I'm not getting
- 1:00:02Speaker 16: bullied out here, Yeah, but I'm just kind of done
- 1:00:04Speaker 16: with Mac. He's a college quarterback that's where we're at.
- 1:00:09Speaker 16: You know, last time I called him, when I emailed in,
- 1:00:11Speaker 16: I talked about being one for seven on the first
- 1:00:13Speaker 16: step drives against the Dolphins. Mack's career conversion rate on
- 1:00:16Speaker 16: offensive drives so far including Dallas thirty seven percent. This year,
- 1:00:21Speaker 16: he's ten out of forty eight for twenty percent. This
- 1:00:25Speaker 16: might sound harsh or unfair, but those are Brandon leedon numbers.
- 1:00:29Speaker 16: Brandon Whedon's two years in the league. He was given
- 1:00:31Speaker 16: eight starts his second year before the Browns decide he
- 1:00:34Speaker 16: was forty and he was twenty for ninety one that year,
- 1:00:37Speaker 16: which is the pace Mac is currently on for eight
- 1:00:39Speaker 16: games right now. So you know, whether he's the only
- 1:00:42Speaker 16: option we have to ride out this year, that might
- 1:00:45Speaker 16: just be the reality. But he is not an NFL quarterback.
- 1:00:48Speaker 16: And you know, even if Zappi is just an NFL backup,
- 1:00:51Speaker 16: that might be the better option this year. I'll let
- 1:00:53Speaker 16: you guys chew on that, all right.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Thanks Donnie. Now, Donnie did his homework.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: Toan So I don't know called me in with Bailey's
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: app Yeah, I don't know that he's not an NFL quarterback.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: I don't know if he's a playoff caliber NFL quarterback.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: I'll say that, but what was that those numbers that
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Warren sharpatt?
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: Will you say?
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: It's just percentage of drives that end in a punt,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: punt or turnover. And the Patriots are dead last.
- 1:01:17Speaker 9: Yeah, and scores their dead last too, like same thing,
- 1:01:20Speaker 9: like a number of scores and scoring again.
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: I think they jumped up to thirtieth with the giant skint.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Oh, maybe a better offensive line fixes that I'm talking
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: about this year twenty twenty three. But I don't know.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I'm losing hope really quickly about this offense. So all right, well,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: take a break, we'll come back. More calls and emails
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: here and Patriots Unfiltered get in.

- 1:02:28Speaker 8: Addlo again. Everyone, a very pleasant, good afternoon. Welcome to Arlington,
- 1:02:32Speaker 8: Texas at AT and T Stadium for a week four
- 1:02:34Speaker 8: encounter of the one and two New England Patriots. I'm
- 1:02:37Speaker 8: a two and one Dallas Cowboys. Bob soci Witscott Zolackett
- 1:02:41Speaker 8: is great to have you with us. Now. With an
- 1:02:43Speaker 8: empty set on second and four, Prescott thinks the shotgun
- 1:02:46Speaker 8: staff good coveragey roll to Vanier sign and he finds
- 1:02:49Speaker 8: that open Michael galplow the near sideline. He hurdles past
- 1:02:52Speaker 8: Ryan at the forty five of New England and eventually
- 1:02:55Speaker 8: Jabrill Peppers shoves him out of the forty so the
- 1:02:58Speaker 8: Patriots playing coverage contained. Prescott maneuvers and finds a wide
- 1:03:02Speaker 8: open gallop down the left sideline.
- 1:03:04Speaker 11: Too much initial time in the pocket.
- 1:03:06Speaker 18: Really didn't really have to bounce here, but you know,
- 1:03:08Speaker 18: Wise gets in a little internal pressure forces him outside.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: That's a big play right there for Dak running gallop.
- 1:03:13Speaker 11: That's twenty eight yards too easy.
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: You know, Pollard in the backfield hands on the east Prescott,
- 1:03:18Speaker 8: who with an adjustment at the line, swats under center,
- 1:03:20Speaker 8: takes the stat and he hops into Coward on the handoff.
- 1:03:22Speaker 8: Hollard strung out, why and tackled by Dugger. The Cowboys
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: stopped themselves before dug every course to take down at
- 1:03:29Speaker 8: the five. It will take advantage of it.
- 1:03:31Speaker 18: Just nothing but pure stupidity by the Cowboys. Opening driver
- 1:03:36Speaker 18: of the game, first and goal inside the tenth quarterback
- 1:03:39Speaker 18: running into the back.
- 1:03:40Speaker 8: You don't know which way he's going, shovel pass, faith throw.
- 1:03:44Speaker 18: Just he hated to that guy three times.
- 1:03:46Speaker 8: What are you doing? And now the former MLS soccer
- 1:03:49Speaker 8: player Brandon Aubrey, who's made his first ten field goal,
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: tries the first kicker in the Super Bowl Eras to
- 1:03:56Speaker 8: make his first ten attempts to the first three weeks
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: of the season. Onto it ten to twenty eight yarder
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: from the right hatch with a snap to anger the
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: swing of the right leg. The kick lifted of the
- 1:04:05Speaker 8: uprights gives Dallas the early lead, a field goal, but
- 1:04:09Speaker 8: yet a win of source for the Patriots defense. Time
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: to turn the Cowboys aside and a search for seven
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: What is now a three nothing game. It's a third
- 1:04:18Speaker 8: and six Henry motions rife that gives Joe's three receivers
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: to the right, one Parker to the left. Stevenson steps
- 1:04:24Speaker 8: up inside the left guard as Joe stakes a shot
- 1:04:27Speaker 8: against step pocket holding now Mack rolling left, running downfield,
- 1:04:31Speaker 8: Soft passes to a wide up and the Doubles at
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: the party. He stutter stepping a test standing the part
- 1:04:36Speaker 8: side line twenty and the Marios Doubles tumbles out of
- 1:04:39Speaker 8: bounds first down New England.
- 1:04:42Speaker 18: When that Jones start this game extremely accurate here scrambled out.
- 1:04:46Speaker 8: I thought he was gonna take off.
- 1:04:47Speaker 18: I thought he could have picked it up with the
- 1:04:48Speaker 18: Cowboys started to close defensively, directs traffic and floats one
- 1:04:52Speaker 18: perfected at the Mayo.
- 1:04:53Speaker 8: Douglas and then he spits out of the cut. Want
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: to move but again now hell an attempt a try
- 1:05:00Speaker 8: from the right hash of the nineteen twenty nine yard
- 1:05:03Speaker 8: at ten Waite's in the Staggers stand staffers in place.
- 1:05:06Speaker 8: Kick is airborne to the uprights and the kick is good.
- 1:05:09Speaker 8: So Chad Ryland draws the Patriots even with a fourth
- 1:05:12Speaker 8: field goal. In his fourth NFL game, Christian Gonzalez came
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: off the field his right arm tight to his side,
- 1:05:18Speaker 8: seemingly injuring his shoulder. He's gone to the injury ten
- 1:05:22Speaker 8: along the Patriots sideline. Meanwhile, in a three to three
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: tight Dallas with Prescott the Lava Dreux left side of
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: the end up her Lamb makes the grab. He dropped
- 1:05:29Speaker 8: it into the basket and the Cowboys take the lead.
- 1:05:34Speaker 10: How do you not go at him?
- 1:05:37Speaker 8: Man, you're down to Sean Wade.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: I'm out crying on the outside.
- 1:05:41Speaker 18: You got ceedee Lamb to drump in the bucket for deck,
- 1:05:44Speaker 18: easy touchdown, pitch a catch man, you're.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Gonna be chasing now.
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: Matt Jones Meanwhile, three for four on the first drive
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: of the Patriots. He'll work under center with Elliott the
- 1:05:54Speaker 8: single back behind it. Two tight ends to the right,
- 1:05:56Speaker 8: Plufs Born to the right, two receivers wide to the
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: left from the ball on and me Hash the right.
- 1:06:00Speaker 8: Hash Jones changing the play. Peryl Brown moves into the
- 1:06:04Speaker 8: back good off at full back hand off to Elliot
- 1:06:07Speaker 8: runs to the right side, dragging a defender forward. Van
- 1:06:10Speaker 8: Dresh had him by the seat of his pants, but
- 1:06:13Speaker 8: Ezekiel Elliott runs it across the thirty four.
- 1:06:15Speaker 18: Connor second counter of the game. Have one earlier than
- 1:06:18Speaker 18: vermondre down inside the red zone. It's good action here.
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: Kasiki in the left slot inside of Parker. Henry slot's
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: right on the outside Smith Schuster. Elliott starts in motion
- 1:06:28Speaker 8: left and then comes back to Matt Jones back, summoning
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: him with his left hand. Now extending the hands and
- 1:06:33Speaker 8: first intent. Takes the snap, dropping back pressure up the middle,
- 1:06:36Speaker 8: slings it down middle. Anna passes caught by Kasiki, crossing
- 1:06:40Speaker 8: left to right at midfield, a grab.
- 1:06:43Speaker 18: Under the rest with hers uncoverage help a little silent
- 1:06:46Speaker 18: from here by Mack to avoid the pressure. Pressure comes
- 1:06:49Speaker 18: from that left side. I think it was Parks and
- 1:06:52Speaker 18: Parsons and almost got to him. But it's a good
- 1:06:54Speaker 18: catch by Kasiki, dragon left the right.
- 1:06:57Speaker 8: It's fourth and less than they are, and they're gonna
- 1:06:59Speaker 8: run up where the cush push snapped at Joe and
- 1:07:02Speaker 8: he plunges Bour and it's close. He didn't get it.
- 1:07:08Speaker 8: He's short. Oh he got it well, the defend from
- 1:07:18Speaker 8: the far side right up. It spotted him short. Sough, No, no, no,
- 1:07:21Speaker 8: because I'm looking at I'm looking at the replay.
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: Here the blue I thought the buck.
- 1:07:24Speaker 8: No, he's short, is short now. Jalen Mills is in
- 1:07:28Speaker 8: the slot cornerback of the Patriots, opposite ceed Lamb Prescott.
- 1:07:33Speaker 8: I'm thirty eight being pressured by wy hut the middle
- 1:07:35Speaker 8: and then drive him down and sacked by you.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: Jay.
- 1:07:37Speaker 8: Here you go, Adrians getting to the quarterback for the
- 1:07:40Speaker 8: first time today with a sack back at the thirty
- 1:07:43Speaker 8: three yard line.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: Fantastic job.
- 1:07:46Speaker 18: Interior rush right here, y know, you get tied up.
- 1:07:50Speaker 18: Mills is light setting on Lamb. He gets the jam though,
- 1:07:53Speaker 18: and I don't know if Dac wanted to go to
- 1:07:55Speaker 18: him and he came back.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: To the left side by that time, it collapsed on him.
- 1:07:58Speaker 8: That's what you gotta do, That's what I thought you
- 1:08:00Speaker 8: had a chance at. Will start this game. Push head
- 1:08:02Speaker 8: heeade So a second down in seven, Stevenson stays on
- 1:08:05Speaker 8: the singles back two toight ends stack to the right,
- 1:08:07Speaker 8: two receivers to the left. Now Juju starts in motion
- 1:08:10Speaker 8: from the right, rehearsing direction. Jones with a playpits in
- 1:08:13Speaker 8: the pocket, pressures from back, starts for voting in their side.
- 1:08:16Speaker 8: He's sack balls picked up by bad raction. No bootball
- 1:08:19Speaker 8: that scoop and score.
- 1:08:23Speaker 18: You just said it can't have a turnover down here,
- 1:08:26Speaker 18: And what do you do? You give up the rush
- 1:08:29Speaker 18: on the right side, but carry low gets beat. You
- 1:08:32Speaker 18: get tracked out from behind. He doesn't have eyes in
- 1:08:35Speaker 18: the back of his head. But yeah, no, things are
- 1:08:37Speaker 18: breaking down around here. Paul gets put on the ground.
- 1:08:39Speaker 8: Stoopid score.
- 1:08:42Speaker 11: Here we go chasing fourteen again, Ross and.
- 1:08:46Speaker 8: Now the Cowboys baking for the throw off the staff
- 1:08:49Speaker 8: to the right and lumbering in for the score on
- 1:08:51Speaker 8: a two point conversion.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Wall I'm coached right now, boy.
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: While the Cowboys looking to bounce back, and they throw
- 1:09:02Speaker 8: it to Chauncey Golston at two hundred and eighty five
- 1:09:06Speaker 8: pound defensive end, linking out wide open to the right
- 1:09:10Speaker 8: for the two point conversion dialed up by Mike McCarthy,
- 1:09:14Speaker 8: and the Cowboys are rolling in the second. Jones he
- 1:09:17Speaker 8: on the gun. Three receivers left go to the right,
- 1:09:22Speaker 8: Mack pressure again, rolls to his right, lips down field,
- 1:09:25Speaker 8: holds up, throws back to broth the field. Combine Born
- 1:09:28Speaker 8: on a bottle at the thirty and then he's tackling
- 1:09:31Speaker 8: forward to the thirty five yard line and the teachers
- 1:09:33Speaker 8: throw across the cross. Kendrick Horn makes the play and
- 1:09:37Speaker 8: eventually is forced down by Deron Blen.
- 1:09:39Speaker 18: Playing with fire man, you are playing with fire with
- 1:09:42Speaker 18: you go outside the numbers to.
- 1:09:43Speaker 8: The right and throw all the way back across the
- 1:09:47Speaker 8: grain to the outside of the numbers on the left.
- 1:09:49Speaker 11: But you find a way to pick up sixty yards to.
- 1:09:51Speaker 8: Convert Patriots having trouble getting lined up, Stevenson has to
- 1:09:55Speaker 8: shift to the right of Jones. Three receivers right, one left,
- 1:09:58Speaker 8: Mac dropping back ruly life, pulling up looking back those
- 1:10:02Speaker 8: ho Si Pasha say good bye. Ron Bland to the
- 1:10:05Speaker 8: thirty twenty to the ten to the end zone. But
- 1:10:10Speaker 8: they tell you about rowing back across the grain.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: You're gonna kill yourself at some point.
- 1:10:16Speaker 8: Second defensive touchdown today Aaron Dallas two turnovers converting to fourteen.
- 1:10:24Speaker 8: I'm surprised if you shake things.
- 1:10:26Speaker 11: Up here soon to give yourself smart.
- 1:10:28Speaker 8: Well, he did it against the Giants twenty two yards
- 1:10:32Speaker 8: out against Daniel Jones, and now Den Blan kicks off
- 1:10:36Speaker 8: Mac Jones and runs it in for the Cowboys.
- 1:10:39Speaker 11: Make a move here.
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: I think I'll to strongly consider it. Fourteen off turnovers.
- 1:10:46Speaker 8: That's two turnovers by the Patriots quarterback resulting immediately in scores.
- 1:10:50Speaker 8: For the Cowboys to kick by Aubrey is good, irresponsib
- 1:10:53Speaker 8: There will get another pass earlier as well that could
- 1:10:55Speaker 8: have easily been nicked off and run in for a score.
- 1:10:58Speaker 8: Bland missed that time. Not this latest time. Out of
- 1:11:02Speaker 8: a timeout fourth and two, Jones takes the shorter high
- 1:11:06Speaker 8: staff from the gun, throws it to the right, picked
- 1:11:08Speaker 8: off again and get him on their side left, get
- 1:11:11Speaker 8: him out, stepped in front of the intended receiver at
- 1:11:15Speaker 8: the forty five of Dallas, and only a tackle by
- 1:11:18Speaker 8: Smith Schuster prevented another runaway to the end zone.
- 1:11:21Speaker 18: Telegraph off the back foot, no sip on the ball,
- 1:11:25Speaker 18: no break by the receiver.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: Time to get him out.
- 1:11:28Speaker 8: Cowboys have not lost back to back games since twenty twenty.
- 1:11:32Speaker 8: They lost the last week to Arizona. Refocused and sharp
- 1:11:35Speaker 8: from the outset at start, contrast to the Patriots today
- 1:11:39Speaker 8: tight end to the right, two receivers to the right,
- 1:11:41Speaker 8: single back play thing five. Prescott chased by device, crambled
- 1:11:45Speaker 8: to the near side and he's brought down. Jilani stayed
- 1:11:47Speaker 8: with it and he sacks the quarterback at the fifteen
- 1:11:50Speaker 8: yard lives.
- 1:11:52Speaker 11: Don't call by them, and.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Some silly calls here for Dallas.
- 1:11:57Speaker 18: Listen as much as they're up, like you got a holler,
- 1:12:02Speaker 18: you can sneak it twice of him with his legs.
- 1:12:05Speaker 8: Three forty one left in the third, Bailey Zappi enters
- 1:12:09Speaker 8: the huddle for the Patriots. They trail the Cowboys at
- 1:12:12Speaker 8: thirty one to three. He replaces mac Jones, who ends
- 1:12:15Speaker 8: the day twelve of twenty one, one hundred and fifty yards.
- 1:12:17Speaker 8: Two interceptions at a football law at zappy under center
- 1:12:21Speaker 8: with a change of the play right from the outset.
- 1:12:23Speaker 8: Two receivers left short motion by Smith Schuster hand off
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: the Stevens at hand in the backfield and Rock tackled
- 1:12:30Speaker 8: inside the twenty eight. That play had no chance. Neville Gallimore,
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: you know what's making a hit?
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: You know what's crazy.
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: Dallas isn't even They're not even good on the interior defensively.
- 1:12:39Speaker 8: All the strength is on.
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: The outside you were getting manhandled.
- 1:12:43Speaker 18: I mean, how many times have there been contact behind
- 1:12:45Speaker 18: the line of scrimmage coming off a week where you
- 1:12:47Speaker 18: actually move a lone of scrimmage against the Jets.
- 1:12:51Speaker 8: Second down at eleven for Dallas from the twenty five,
- 1:12:54Speaker 8: Prescott again under center two, tight ends to his right
- 1:12:56Speaker 8: at third tight end left October in short motion from
- 1:12:59Speaker 8: the lines up over the right tackle give Devance binds
- 1:13:02Speaker 8: away from Judad flooding left though surrounded him. Bentley takes
- 1:13:06Speaker 8: him down with some help on the edge on is
- 1:13:07Speaker 8: from another defender Mills. And now matt Judaan has heard
- 1:13:12Speaker 8: I think Keith Matthew Judah, let's not contact face down
- 1:13:17Speaker 8: on the turf. He's grabbing initially as he went down
- 1:13:20Speaker 8: his right elbow. This has been a disastros day for
- 1:13:25Speaker 8: the Patriots. They've lost Christian Gonzales and Matthew Judah went
- 1:13:29Speaker 8: back to the locker room with an elbow and drew.
- 1:13:33Speaker 8: Their quarterback has been pulled after three turnovers. Rerescott with
- 1:13:37Speaker 8: a handoff on the end a round him. Turpin has
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: a gaping holding the fifty cunning to the forty frock
- 1:13:42Speaker 8: past Dugger chase By at the twenty.
- 1:13:44Speaker 18: And Miles catches him half the fifteen yard line. He
- 1:13:48Speaker 18: punches the ball out and Dallas is more heads up than.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: You are to look at the ball and find you.
- 1:13:53Speaker 8: He recovered the Cowboys with a third and goal coming
- 1:13:57Speaker 8: up from the three ball on the right hash Tolbert
- 1:14:00Speaker 8: split outside of the left Turpin on the left slot,
- 1:14:03Speaker 8: Cooks lines up over the right tackle, give to Lifty
- 1:14:06Speaker 8: runs up the middle into the en zone. Touchdown for Dallas.
- 1:14:10Speaker 8: I'm a second career rush for a hunter loftie.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: The remote start?
- 1:14:21Speaker 11: Can you start the buses from here?
- 1:14:24Speaker 8: The rookie Rylan will attempt a fifty two yard field
- 1:14:27Speaker 8: goal from straight on. Cardono over the football to snap
- 1:14:32Speaker 8: it back to Berringer. Rylan leans forward. The snap of
- 1:14:40Speaker 8: the spot drives the kick Saley to the uprights and
- 1:14:44Speaker 8: the kick is no good. That guy today for the Patriots,
- 1:14:52Speaker 8: they elect to try to kick the field goal and
- 1:14:54Speaker 8: the kick was pushed high to the right. No good
- 1:14:57Speaker 8: from fifty two. He's still a thirty eight to three game.
- 1:15:02Speaker 8: Another meal down by rush columby fifteen in counting, and
- 1:15:07Speaker 8: on top of all of it, injuries to Christian Gonzales
- 1:15:10Speaker 8: and Matthew Judan. The terrific rookie cornerback and the outstanding
- 1:15:18Speaker 8: edge player for the Patriots who's been a pro bowler
- 1:15:21Speaker 8: and his two full seasons for New England to this point,
- 1:15:27Speaker 8: had a lot of soul searching, no doubt. In the
- 1:15:32Speaker 8: next six days before the Patriots take on New Orleans
- 1:15:35Speaker 8: next Sunday, forty two seconds encountering rush to the knee,
- 1:15:43Speaker 8: teams off the sidelines, a long walk for the Pats
- 1:15:48Speaker 8: from the near side of the field here at at
- 1:15:50Speaker 8: and T Stadium to complete a long day in Arlington, Texas,
- 1:15:55Speaker 8: fright of a long road ahead, with the Patriots falling
- 1:15:57Speaker 8: to the Cowboys thirty eight to three, dropping to one
- 1:16:01Speaker 8: in three overall this season, Miss Dallas improves to three
- 1:16:05Speaker 8: and one.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: Ridge Stone is the official tire of the New England

- 1:16:18Speaker 1: find a location near you. Boy, really sticking the knife
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: and deep with the ending of that mashup.
- 1:16:25Speaker 11: Huh the whole dragged out, Yeah, the whole.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: Soliloquy afterwards, picture my Bob Socy just you know, every
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: moment of that misery long walk. Yeah, anyway back here
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: on Patriots on siltered a five five pass five hundred
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: is the ace ticket houtline, web radio at Patriots dot
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: com is the way to email us. And got a
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: lot of phone calls, a lot of emails, so we
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: should get right to what I suppose.
- 1:16:53Speaker 11: No email is telling us for being too negative this week.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: No, yeah, sorry Brian in Lowell, what's up, Brian?
- 1:17:02Speaker 19: What's up?
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: Hey? Brian?
- 1:17:07Speaker 10: You called us?
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Okay, you got it? Now, now's the time where you
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: say what you want to say.
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: Oh man, I mean that game was just a brutal game.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: Yes, do you have a take?
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: Mac Jones needs to go?
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: I mean I hate to say the pants fan, but yeah,
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: I man, what's what's going with Mac?
- 1:17:35Speaker 15: But he's just not No.
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: I think I don't think he's not getting any better
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: than the last season.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Okay, all right, thanks for the car. I mean, you
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: know you gotta have a little bit more than that.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: All right, Christians in Boston, what's up Christian?
- 1:17:52Speaker 19: Hey, I'll be quick. The whole program's broken, got to go.
- 1:18:00Speaker 19: I don't think Max is the guy, you know, And
- 1:18:04Speaker 19: I called him the off season and said about Bill,
- 1:18:06Speaker 19: you know, moving off to him. I still thought he
- 1:18:08Speaker 19: could coach. I mean, talk about intelf injury with that
- 1:18:11Speaker 19: field goal in the two point conversion of the other day,
- 1:18:14Speaker 19: Like that's just just lack of focus and like just
- 1:18:18Speaker 19: not I just don't think he's got it anymore, not
- 1:18:22Speaker 19: even five ten years ago, like he had it.
- 1:18:24Speaker 20: He just doesn't.
- 1:18:25Speaker 19: And I don't know how much money moves to see.
- 1:18:27Speaker 19: Like twenty twenty, they get blown out at home against
- 1:18:30Speaker 19: the forty nine ers. Twenty one, they lose a game
- 1:18:32Speaker 19: at a time time game add Indy. Usually they win
- 1:18:35Speaker 19: those games. They get smoked in the playoffs by Buffalo
- 1:18:38Speaker 19: following year, take your pick. They lose on Thanksgivin Night
- 1:18:40Speaker 19: at Minnesota this year. This game, I mean, they're held
- 1:18:43Speaker 19: mary away from being one four. There really are.
- 1:18:46Speaker 8: Yeah, So it's crazy.
- 1:18:48Speaker 19: It's really painful to watch, and I just it's just
- 1:18:51Speaker 19: so disappointing. Like I don't think they be this bad,
- 1:18:55Speaker 19: and I don't think they're that bad as they worst Tidy,
- 1:18:58Speaker 19: I'm with everybody else on that, but they're certainly not
- 1:19:01Speaker 19: good enough, you know, to compete. I think that's pretty
- 1:19:03Speaker 19: clear to four games complete to be a viable playoff team.
- 1:19:08Speaker 9: All right, all right, yeah along those lines. I credit
- 1:19:12Speaker 9: to Coda Ranald for asking the question that was in
- 1:19:13Speaker 9: my head. I know I've said it to you guys.
- 1:19:15Speaker 9: But just when Bill got up after that blowoff playoff
- 1:19:17Speaker 9: loss to the Bills and said, you know, is this
- 1:19:20Speaker 9: who we are or is this just a bad night?
- 1:19:22Speaker 9: And Dakota brought that up and said, you know, is
- 1:19:25Speaker 9: this who you are or is this just a bad night?
- 1:19:27Speaker 9: And he said, well, we'll see going forward. But the
- 1:19:30Speaker 9: point remains, this is the second time in two years
- 1:19:32Speaker 9: that he's gotten up in a press conference and said
- 1:19:34Speaker 9: my team was not competitive, you know, I mean, and
- 1:19:36Speaker 9: that's as much of an indictment as you can get.
- 1:19:39Speaker 9: And you know, people want to talk about he's lost it,
- 1:19:41Speaker 9: he's lost it.
- 1:19:41Speaker 10: I don't know what he lost. I just know that
- 1:19:43Speaker 10: it doesn't seem like they're buying into what he's selling anymore.
- 1:19:46Speaker 10: So maybe he knows the game well and maybe he
- 1:19:48Speaker 10: has the right plan. I just don't know if the
- 1:19:50Speaker 10: team is listening to it.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: He came up and said, you know, I believe everything
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: he tells us.
- 1:19:56Speaker 11: Yeah, I don't think that's really That's how you took that.
- 1:19:59Speaker 13: No, that's what a captain is a signed to go
- 1:20:03Speaker 13: up there and say okay, but he said it.
- 1:20:05Speaker 11: Yeah, I didn't. I did not take Dietrich like listening
- 1:20:09Speaker 11: to it. I didn't take his response to that question
- 1:20:13Speaker 11: was as a glowing endorsement.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: For Bill Belichick. How did you take it?
- 1:20:17Speaker 11: I thought that he was looking for the words like.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: That's how he speaks.
- 1:20:22Speaker 11: No, I've spoken to Dietrich a lot, and I think
- 1:20:24Speaker 11: that he was trying in his head to make sure
- 1:20:28Speaker 11: that he was saying the right things. Honestly, I'm not
- 1:20:31Speaker 11: saying that Bill has like lost the locker room. I'm
- 1:20:33Speaker 11: not going there, but yeah, but I I we talk
- 1:20:40Speaker 11: a lot about like Bill's like philosophy on offense and
- 1:20:43Speaker 11: like team building and all that kind of stuff. And
- 1:20:46Speaker 11: I think something that's like irked me coming a little
- 1:20:49Speaker 11: a little bit off this game is like they've played
- 1:20:52Speaker 11: two really good offenses in Miami and Dallas, and I
- 1:20:55Speaker 11: don't really think they've been particularly good on defense. And
- 1:20:58Speaker 11: that's like supposed to be his side to the ball,
- 1:21:00Speaker 11: and that's supposed to be where like you know, we
- 1:21:02Speaker 11: can sit here and still put a feather in his
- 1:21:05Speaker 11: cap that you know he can still coach defense. And
- 1:21:08Speaker 11: I get it they had injuries in the secondary in
- 1:21:11Speaker 11: this game, but I mean, look the same way at
- 1:21:13Speaker 11: the beginning. I mean they went right through it, right
- 1:21:15Speaker 11: like right like the opening drive of the game. They
- 1:21:17Speaker 11: just go right down the field.
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: So the opening part of what you guys just said
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: is what I fixate on, you know, like, and this
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: is where I'm going to admit that I some of
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: my confidence in Bill the coach, just the coach has
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: been shaken a little bit, and you know, everybody just
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: just still know what I'd rather have, have a game plan.
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: And that might be true, okay, but the consistent pattern
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: that develops in these games is that they do not
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: do not play well early in the game. When they
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: play against a good team that's harder to shut down,
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: the other team tends to do their best work coming
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: right out of the shoot. So that's three times now
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: this year that the other team dominated the first quarter,
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: first half. Like it's hard to say, like, there's no
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: one I want having a game plan when the other
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: team gets the ball and goes right down the field.
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: The first two times they get it in the field
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: goal that they did hold them to the right.
- 1:22:12Speaker 11: The Dak and Tony Pollard run into each other. It's
- 1:22:14Speaker 11: not like it's kind of like that opening drive win
- 1:22:18Speaker 11: with Tua where and he like tripped over himself and
- 1:22:20Speaker 11: fell down on third down, Like.
- 1:22:22Speaker 5: I forgot about that.
- 1:22:23Speaker 21: But usually those are the hits that I like to
- 1:22:24Speaker 21: pay and I'm not, like, the defense is not why
- 1:22:27Speaker 21: they're losing, and like what I hate the defense been fine, Yeah,
- 1:22:30Speaker 21: I hate to attack the defense. But at the same time,
- 1:22:33Speaker 21: if you the formula coming into the season and you
- 1:22:37Speaker 21: said that, you know, four games in, you'd have two
- 1:22:40Speaker 21: takeaways on defense.
- 1:22:41Speaker 11: Like that, that's just that's not how they need to play.
- 1:22:45Speaker 11: Like they need to turn the ball over on defense.
- 1:22:47Speaker 11: I'm not asking the defense to score necessarily, but like
- 1:22:50Speaker 11: you need to set up the offense and for Paul's
- 1:22:53Speaker 11: pick threes and you know, and things like that, like
- 1:22:56Speaker 11: that those things need to happen more often for this
- 1:22:59Speaker 11: defense and what they have been and they just aren't.
- 1:23:01Speaker 10: You know, we had a strip eight this weekend.
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: Yeah, oh we gave up.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: A strip eight.
- 1:23:05Speaker 11: I've never seen that before in my last fallid. But
- 1:23:09Speaker 11: that like, it's not the defense's fault and I'm not
- 1:23:11Speaker 11: trying to come after that. They've been fine, but they
- 1:23:14Speaker 11: needed them to be better than fine.
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: Right, And I'm just talking strictly being prepared at the
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: start of the game. That was one of the things
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: that I had my bad list right sat on Sunday.
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: This is a pattern that they're not ready to go
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: when the game starts against good competition, and they're not
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: good enough to overcome a two score deficit against a
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: good team on a consistent basis. They just haven't proven
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: to be able to do that. So you can't think Cowboys.
- 1:23:38Speaker 11: Took them by surprise on that opening drive throwing the
- 1:23:40Speaker 11: ball right.
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: So they you know, God forbid someone who's not a
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: good game planner came out with a better game plan
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: than God's gift of game plans.
- 1:23:49Speaker 11: Yeah. No, I mean, look, I I'll fall on that
- 1:23:52Speaker 11: sort I I said it all last week that I
- 1:23:53Speaker 11: thought McCarthy was horrible in that game.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: This is not a s I didn't mean to and
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: that was that was snarky. I don't mean to be snarky,
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: but I do think Bill was excellent at preparing his team.
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: But I don't think we've seen that in a while now.
- 1:24:06Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean I thought that the Cowboys, they threw
- 1:24:10Speaker 11: the ball eighteen times on their first four drives, which
- 1:24:12Speaker 11: they haven't done all year.
- 1:24:13Speaker 5: And people are gonna say, well, Gonzalez, no that they
- 1:24:16Speaker 5: came out throwing it.
- 1:24:17Speaker 11: Yeah, they came.
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: Gonzalez was hurt. They were completing passes right down the field.
- 1:24:20Speaker 11: And they and they also, you know, to McCarthy's credit too,
- 1:24:23Speaker 11: because I definitely said last week that I didn't think
- 1:24:26Speaker 11: this would happen, to his credit, they knew the weak
- 1:24:28Speaker 11: links on the Patriots defense too. They went right after
- 1:24:31Speaker 11: Sean Waite. Oh and what else did they do just
- 1:24:34Speaker 11: in general, is they didn't fixate on CD Lamb. Cede
- 1:24:38Speaker 11: Lamb had a good game, he was fine. But they
- 1:24:40Speaker 11: were perfectly content to throw drive stars to Brandon Cooks. Yeah,
- 1:24:44Speaker 11: four targets, four catches, not a ton of yards, but
- 1:24:46Speaker 11: like setting up second and three on a consistent basis,
- 1:24:50Speaker 11: Gallup caught a handful of passes. They used the tight
- 1:24:53Speaker 11: end kid Ferguson. I think he was seven for seven,
- 1:24:55Speaker 11: seven targets, seven catches. If they'd thrown that one in
- 1:24:58Speaker 11: the end zone to him instead of the other I
- 1:25:00Speaker 11: who dropped it, they would have had another touchdown.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and then and even then there was one stretch
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: where the Cowboys all of a sudden started throwing these
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: quick sideline pass like, what are you doing? Look down? Oh?
- 1:25:10Speaker 5: I said that they don't need to be doing that.
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: The first two drives they went right down the field,
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: and the third drive after the failed fourth down, right,
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: they tried.
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: To throw two quick screens. Why what are you doing?
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: Right?
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: Like everything you were doing was working, and.
- 1:25:21Speaker 9: It's it's it's quite a contrast on the Patriots, who
- 1:25:23Speaker 9: are just trying to execute an offense, not they don't
- 1:25:25Speaker 9: have the ability yet to like attack a week point
- 1:25:27Speaker 9: on another team's defense. It's like they're just trying to
- 1:25:29Speaker 9: execute a play on their own without taking that all
- 1:25:32Speaker 9: into account.
- 1:25:33Speaker 11: Yeah, it just you know, the prevent defense that they
- 1:25:35Speaker 11: played against Miami and then this week just you know,
- 1:25:38Speaker 11: allowing Sean Wade to get picked apart in the beginning
- 1:25:41Speaker 11: part of this game, Like that's all you got, Like,
- 1:25:44Speaker 11: that's all you got? You know, I'm this is what
- 1:25:47Speaker 11: you're supposed to be selling me on, is that this
- 1:25:49Speaker 11: defense is going to be great, and Bill's going to
- 1:25:51Speaker 11: be great coaching it, and you know all this type
- 1:25:53Speaker 11: of stuff, and and all you got is to play
- 1:25:55Speaker 11: three deep safeties against the Dolphins and not get blown
- 1:25:57Speaker 11: out by seventy Like.
- 1:25:59Speaker 9: Well, I mean, when was the last time you felt
- 1:26:00Speaker 9: like they really were well coached and executed and prepared
- 1:26:03Speaker 9: for a game that they went out and executed and won.
- 1:26:06Speaker 9: You know, It's it's I can't think I'm sure that
- 1:26:08Speaker 9: there's others, but like, off the top of my head,
- 1:26:11Speaker 9: that Baltimore rain game where they like did have some
- 1:26:14Speaker 9: wrinkles for Lamar Jackson and had like those were some
- 1:26:17Speaker 9: of like the better game plans that I remember of
- 1:26:19Speaker 9: Bill from the last like three or four years, where
- 1:26:21Speaker 9: it was like, okay, that was that was innovative, Like
- 1:26:24Speaker 9: you played basically an inverted defensive front so that your
- 1:26:28Speaker 9: faster guys were out on the edge and you're still
- 1:26:30Speaker 9: you know, like that made sense.
- 1:26:32Speaker 11: Like I don't know, but there's a lot of.
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: Didn't you feel like that particular night it was so
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: bad with the rain that he had to run, like
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: they really had a hard time throwing it.
- 1:26:42Speaker 11: So yeah, but in nineteen they got blown off the
- 1:26:44Speaker 11: field by by Baltimore. Yeah, and then they had they
- 1:26:47Speaker 11: did play totally differently in twenty against but I.
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: Just think it would have been harder to play that style,
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: if they could have thrown the ball the way they
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: normally do. And I know they run first. I know
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: they were even even now they're still a run.
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: For I right against Damon's and Maryland. What's up, Damon?
- 1:27:06Speaker 19: Hang on?
- 1:27:07Speaker 8: How's it going?
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:27:10Speaker 22: So I went down to the game on Sunday? Who
- 1:27:12Speaker 22: my basketball party as a Patriots fan?
- 1:27:14Speaker 16: It was terrible?
- 1:27:16Speaker 22: But two quick questions. So, first, pertaining to the secondary
- 1:27:22Speaker 22: after injuries, where's the balance when it comes to talent
- 1:27:27Speaker 22: versus experience? I feel like Miles Bryan has the experience,
- 1:27:32Speaker 22: but is the endless weekly in the defense whenever he's
- 1:27:35Speaker 22: in the game, versus someone like Mapu, who has all
- 1:27:39Speaker 22: the talent in the world and looked lost out there
- 1:27:42Speaker 22: at times on Sunday. And Secondly, after a game like this,
- 1:27:48Speaker 22: is it just better to bury the tape and move on.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: To the Saints? Yeah?
- 1:27:55Speaker 5: Well I think they need to learn. Look what the
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: problems are.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: What you know, if if mac Joe was not seeing
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: things properly like we sort of suggest, I don't think
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: it's just right to just said, well, just forget about
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: that game. Let's show him like, no mac here right here?
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: Instead of looking at Michael Parsons over here. Look at
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: DeVante Parker right here, he's open.
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: He's a step ahead. Ever the movie you show him.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: You ever see the movie Clockwork Orange where they take
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: the toothpas and they tape his eyelids open. That's what
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: you need to do with Mac. I'd like to watch,
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: but it's like it's ugly and it's but you need
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: to watch all of it.
- 1:28:30Speaker 11: But I they I know they did watch it yesterday,
- 1:28:34Speaker 11: but like at this point, like you do need to
- 1:28:36Speaker 11: turn the page, like.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: But you have to address what happened.
- 1:28:40Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, but it's Tuesday now. I mean, there's no
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: you can't cry.
- 1:28:44Speaker 11: Back one and bury the ball.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: But I thought they did that already this season. But
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: maybe they did.
- 1:28:50Speaker 11: They really got a forest of balls, but I I
- 1:28:54Speaker 11: just it's like a graveyard.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: We're running on the balls.
- 1:28:58Speaker 5: It's like the Googling show.
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:29:01Speaker 11: I just still can't get over how poorly he read
- 1:29:03Speaker 11: the field. That's like, that's because that's just so uncharacteristic
- 1:29:07Speaker 11: of him that it almost wants to make me chalk
- 1:29:09Speaker 11: it up to like a one off where you're just like, not,
- 1:29:12Speaker 11: I'm willing for.
- 1:29:12Speaker 10: The next five days to kind of take that route because.
- 1:29:15Speaker 11: I'm no one's saying that they're gonna score forty points,
- 1:29:18Speaker 11: like no one's saying they're good offensively regardless.
- 1:29:20Speaker 5: But but he's not that bad, no.
- 1:29:22Speaker 11: And just some of the things that he missed are
- 1:29:24Speaker 11: just such ma like just easy things for Mac most
- 1:29:27Speaker 11: of the time, and it just is bizarre.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Als in Wisconsin. What's up? Al?
- 1:29:32Speaker 19: Hey, guys doing Evan? How's the how's the pledge to
- 1:29:38Speaker 19: be more positive on Tuesdays?
- 1:29:40Speaker 11: Hey, listen, I can They didn't hold up their end
- 1:29:42Speaker 11: of the bargain on Sunday. Al, So that's not my fault.
- 1:29:47Speaker 19: I'm gonna start off a little bit positive. And that
- 1:29:51Speaker 19: is with uh with spread bread knows how to rebuild
- 1:29:55Speaker 19: a team, Replacing Eric with Evan like replacing Max with
- 1:30:01Speaker 19: Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:30:03Speaker 11: Wow, thank you, it's.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's an insult to Mac, isn't it
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: just kidding?
- 1:30:13Speaker 8: Well?
- 1:30:13Speaker 19: You want to still the coach though, Like I've been
- 1:30:18Speaker 19: in Eldrid sided Street with build a GM for a
- 1:30:21Speaker 19: while now, But as a coach, I feel like in
- 1:30:26Speaker 19: the past like four years, just watching the games, I
- 1:30:30Speaker 19: feel like he's been out coached more often than on
- 1:30:34Speaker 19: the other side. Then he's been the better coach in
- 1:30:38Speaker 19: the game. And you know, I don't know, like I
- 1:30:41Speaker 19: don't have a name ready for like this is the
- 1:30:43Speaker 19: guy I wanted a head coach. But but I can
- 1:30:45Speaker 19: tell you that if we go into next year with
- 1:30:51Speaker 19: all that cap space, with probably a pretty good draft
- 1:30:54Speaker 19: pick and whirled this regime running things like I'm gonna
- 1:30:59Speaker 19: go into next season and with no hope. Like we
- 1:31:02Speaker 19: talked about how you have to have hope at the
- 1:31:04Speaker 19: beginning of the season, but we've seen the script for
- 1:31:07Speaker 19: the past four years. Now they're a team that can
- 1:31:11Speaker 19: beat up on bad teams. Now they might be getting
- 1:31:14Speaker 19: worse to the point where it's a coin flip between
- 1:31:17Speaker 19: bad teams and they can't beat any good teams. And
- 1:31:22Speaker 19: at this rate, like if they're trying to hold on
- 1:31:25Speaker 19: the bill for the record or something he needs, like
- 1:31:28Speaker 19: I think twenty nine wins and he's had twenty six
- 1:31:30Speaker 19: since Bratty left, so that's probably another five years.
- 1:31:34Speaker 8: Of this record nineteen yeah, nineteen yeah, or okay, or
- 1:31:40Speaker 8: if you.
- 1:31:41Speaker 19: Want to be narky, he's currently on pacee to get
- 1:31:45Speaker 19: those nineteen to get the record in twenty seasons.
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think it's fair to say at
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: this point it could be three seasons this season, next season,
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: in twenty five.
- 1:31:57Speaker 11: Yeah, but that's like I think you know at all
- 1:32:00Speaker 11: saying about this cap space and the high like with
- 1:32:03Speaker 11: this regime, it's like that's where I feel like I'm
- 1:32:06Speaker 11: in such a disarray with this is because you know,
- 1:32:09Speaker 11: Mike brought it up earlier, the free agents that they
- 1:32:11Speaker 11: have and the decisions that they have to make, and
- 1:32:13Speaker 11: it's like, if you're gonna turn this roster over again
- 1:32:16Speaker 11: and basically restart like and maybe even restarting at quarterback
- 1:32:21Speaker 11: another three years, and is this the guy that you
- 1:32:24Speaker 11: want to do it again with.
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the problem, right, Yeah, that I think they're
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: looking at is I'm not not necessarily sure I want
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: him with that cap space right based on what he
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: did in twenty one or.
- 1:32:33Speaker 9: Just it's an opportunity too, Like this is if you're
- 1:32:35Speaker 9: gonna hit the reset button, you're gonna have a new
- 1:32:37Speaker 9: coach or GM coming in, Like this is an opportunity
- 1:32:39Speaker 9: to say, hey, you can basically build the offensive line
- 1:32:41Speaker 9: from scratch.
- 1:32:42Speaker 10: You can tell us what you want to do at
- 1:32:43Speaker 10: tight end.
- 1:32:43Speaker 9: We got one running back who's in his last year,
- 1:32:45Speaker 9: So we got to make some moves there. We don't
- 1:32:47Speaker 9: really have a defensive end or an edge rusher when
- 1:32:49Speaker 9: we have his thirty two with a you know, coming
- 1:32:51Speaker 9: off a major injury.
- 1:32:52Speaker 10: So there's some wiggle room for a new guy to.
- 1:32:54Speaker 9: Come in as opposed to you know, you come in
- 1:32:56Speaker 9: and they're low on cap space, they're in cap hell,
- 1:32:58Speaker 9: and they've got to cut a bunch of guys. And
- 1:33:00Speaker 9: I'm sure they would cut a bunch of guys anyway, right,
- 1:33:02Speaker 9: you know, a cap hell, we gotta you know, cut half.
- 1:33:04Speaker 13: The team Sanders vibes coming in and wiping the whole team.
- 1:33:09Speaker 11: But yeah, but like that's for our fearless, you know, leader,
- 1:33:13Speaker 11: mister Kraft. Like, that's the question that you have to ask,
- 1:33:15Speaker 11: is that if we come into this, you know, at
- 1:33:17Speaker 11: by the end of the season and they're picking in
- 1:33:19Speaker 11: the top ten and they have to make all this
- 1:33:21Speaker 11: roster decisions with the guys already are on the team,
- 1:33:23Speaker 11: with free agents and all this, like is this really
- 1:33:27Speaker 11: you're rebuilding again? You you are you're rebuilding again? And
- 1:33:30Speaker 11: and how many more times are you going to let
- 1:33:32Speaker 11: them rebuild?
- 1:33:33Speaker 8: You know?
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:33:34Speaker 11: Well four years ago, I mean it's you know, we
- 1:33:35Speaker 11: kind of.
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: Has had a rebuild now, and I'm okay with rebuilding again,
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: but I'm not necessarily okay with the same plan.
- 1:33:43Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: No, Like, I don't want to chuck this failed rebuild
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: if you if it ends up making a fail as
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: just being like pick bad luck.
- 1:33:52Speaker 11: This wasn't bad luck, right that that that's yeah, that's
- 1:33:55Speaker 11: the way to put it.
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: Anthony's in Nashville. Hey, Anthony, Anthony, Yep, how you.
- 1:34:03Speaker 5: Guys doing, Man, We've all been better.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: I don't know if you're listening and you know how
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: we're doing.
- 1:34:10Speaker 6: It's my second time calling y'all.
- 1:34:12Speaker 19: I'm pretty sure y'all feel like me, man, But yeah,
- 1:34:15Speaker 19: I agree with you, Fred Man.
- 1:34:16Speaker 6: I agree, man. We got to get somebody that got
- 1:34:20Speaker 6: an answer to the owners.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:34:22Speaker 6: I don't think Bill is gonna cut it no more
- 1:34:25Speaker 6: as just you know, handling all the GM position by himself.
- 1:34:30Speaker 6: You know, I know Paul always here, he thinks he
- 1:34:32Speaker 6: makes all the decisions. And I don't think that that
- 1:34:36Speaker 6: there's gonna be you know, a good thing moving forward
- 1:34:39Speaker 6: for us. I mean, I believe that Matt could possibly
- 1:34:43Speaker 6: be you know, as good as like an Andy Dalton
- 1:34:45Speaker 6: or something like that, but I don't believe that he's
- 1:34:49Speaker 6: gonna be a top tier quarterback. I believe he's all right.
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of where I that's where I thanks
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: Anthony uh Andrews in Minnesota. What's up, Andrew? Hey? What's are?
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: You want a submarine?
- 1:35:05Speaker 5: That's That's exactly what it sounds like it. That's so funny.
- 1:35:09Speaker 16: I was just wondering, Actually, I just had a question
- 1:35:12Speaker 16: specifically for Evan.
- 1:35:14Speaker 20: I was wondering on that second drawn bland interception, why, why,
- 1:35:18Speaker 20: in your opinion, why there would be no rub in
- 1:35:20Speaker 20: that situation?
- 1:35:22Speaker 9: No?
- 1:35:22Speaker 15: What at that point?
- 1:35:24Speaker 20: I mean, it's just I feel like, how did that
- 1:35:27Speaker 20: formation there? Definitely should have been a rub or.
- 1:35:29Speaker 16: Something to help.
- 1:35:32Speaker 20: And then also at that point, I would just like
- 1:35:36Speaker 20: to say shout out to the Booty Clap bandit.
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: Evan.
- 1:35:40Speaker 15: You can be on board, but you want.
- 1:35:44Speaker 10: Booty out there, the Booty Clap bandits.
- 1:35:46Speaker 11: I mean, tell us about that.
- 1:35:48Speaker 5: I'm not a thing.
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: It just amazes me how the answer is like rookie
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: sixth round pick wide receivers like that just amazes I'm
- 1:35:55Speaker 3: not I'm not.
- 1:35:56Speaker 5: And I'm not suggesting that you like.
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: The answer basically dragging his name.
- 1:36:00Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:36:00Speaker 11: Yeah, the Booty Clap Bandits are a nice group on
- 1:36:03Speaker 11: on the X machine that that really like Kishan Boody
- 1:36:07Speaker 11: didn't want to see him out there. I'm not quite
- 1:36:09Speaker 11: yet in like Booty territory where we're we're playing guys
- 1:36:11Speaker 11: just to play the rookies and see what you.
- 1:36:13Speaker 5: Know, what you got. And I'm there on Douglas. Enough
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: from Douglas that I need to see more of him.
- 1:36:20Speaker 5: I've seen absolutely nothing.
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: From It's so funny, but this is this is the blog.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: So Douglas makes his great play next post where's Booty?
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: It's like, can't we just enjoy what we just saw
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: and said, like, who's the next guy?
- 1:36:32Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: By the way, that was an amazing move by him. Yeah,
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: he definitely fell and as he comes out of spin,
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: he sees the actually sees the guy coming and then
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: he reverses again.
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: He actually knocks himself down though, which was unfortunate, but
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: it was an unbelievable play. Yeah, and we really saw
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: very little of him the rest.
- 1:36:49Speaker 5: Of the game, and he didn't I got scared did that?
- 1:36:53Speaker 13: Well?
- 1:36:53Speaker 5: What I'm wondering about is.
- 1:36:55Speaker 11: He made a big play and can't have a get
- 1:36:58Speaker 11: out of there.
- 1:37:01Speaker 10: He's running too far.
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: Evan has taken the mantle for me for most Snarks,
- 1:37:04Speaker 5: and this is.
- 1:37:05Speaker 11: Great, Oh my god, can't do that out running our talent.
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: So this is one of another one of the things
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: that I've often been sort of annoyed about, even the
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: great Bill Belichick is like, do we have to always
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: have guys that do all of those things? Like we
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: need to kill Harry because he's a four down player,
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: like he can block and he could do but maybe, Okay,
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: So right now, completely anecdotal, it looks like.
- 1:37:29Speaker 5: Ta Mario Douglas doesn't always know what he's doing.
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: Yes, okay, And I'm gonna be honest, I'm gonna be
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: right out there and I'm gonna say that's what it
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: looks like to me. He ran right into Born on
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: that play. And maybe they just look at it and say,
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: I can't have this guy playing he doesn't know he's
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: And I'm just like, sometimes mistakes, when you can't move
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: the ball wind up making forty two yards.
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: That was a mistake. They made a mistake, and it
- 1:37:52Speaker 5: was the biggest play they made in the game by
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: far second.
- 1:37:56Speaker 11: Why not just the season, why not just let.
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: Him make a mistake every once in a while, and
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: maybe it were like I get frustrated with that if
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: you have a great offense and then you have this
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: young guy that might be able to provide more to
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: that offense, but he keeps making mistakes. By all means,
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: sit him down. You can't move the ball from here
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: to there without falling down, right, It's like Private Santiago
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: who seemingly can't run from here to they are without
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: falling down.
- 1:38:22Speaker 11: They can't move the ball.
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: They're going the wrong direct. It's twenty seventeen, thirteen and
- 1:38:27Speaker 3: now three they're going in the wrong direction, and we
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: can't find fifty five sixty snaps with to Mario Douglas.
- 1:38:34Speaker 11: Yeah, and I try to like highlight these things and
- 1:38:37Speaker 11: after further of you because people ask me about bour
- 1:38:40Speaker 11: and people ask me about Douglas and boring. Maybe not
- 1:38:42Speaker 11: as much of this year, but like, why aren't these
- 1:38:44Speaker 11: guys playing And the reason why Pop Douglas doesn't play
- 1:38:47Speaker 11: more is because the route running issue.
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: I'm assuming that that's the case.
- 1:38:50Speaker 11: It's not just you know that one was obviously egregious
- 1:38:53Speaker 11: and everybody could see it because of eighteen plays of
- 1:38:56Speaker 11: the play that transpire but there's probably four or five
- 1:38:58Speaker 11: times a game where I'm writing down while Douglas ran
- 1:39:01Speaker 11: into somebody, or Douglas doesn't really look like he knows
- 1:39:04Speaker 11: where he's going, or you know, Douglas is running the
- 1:39:07Speaker 11: wrong route most likely here, and that's why the coaching
- 1:39:10Speaker 11: staff looks at it and says, you know, we can't
- 1:39:13Speaker 11: play this guy. But it kind of comes back to
- 1:39:15Speaker 11: like Keon White now with Matthew Judon. I know that
- 1:39:19Speaker 11: from their perspective, Jilani Tavai is probably going to play
- 1:39:22Speaker 11: that spot more fundamentally sound than Keon White, but that's
- 1:39:28Speaker 11: not what's in the best interest of the team. Same
- 1:39:31Speaker 11: with the Mario Douglas, because Keon White might actually make
- 1:39:34Speaker 11: a play in the backfield and not just you know,
- 1:39:36Speaker 11: set a steady edge and keep the quarterback in the
- 1:39:39Speaker 11: pocket and like do the things that they want them
- 1:39:41Speaker 11: to do. This team needs needs plays, they need impact playmakers,
- 1:39:45Speaker 11: and some of these guys that might make a bunch
- 1:39:48Speaker 11: of mistakes might also make a forty two yard catch
- 1:39:50Speaker 11: and that's how they have to live right now.
- 1:39:52Speaker 9: I think the offense is going to be better this year,
- 1:39:54Speaker 9: but do we have a conversation about what if the
- 1:39:56Speaker 9: offense is really not all that much different than.
- 1:39:58Speaker 10: What it was last year with Matt?
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: What if it's worse? Like, what if it's it's worse?
- 1:40:03Speaker 11: Like, so what does that?
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: What does that look like?
- 1:40:05Speaker 10: I mean, was it a we were too harsh on
- 1:40:07Speaker 10: Matt Patrichol last year or is it just the players?
- 1:40:10Speaker 11: And this is what it is?
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: He doesn't last, he doesn't deserve you, and we weren't
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: too harsh on him last year, but there hasn't been
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: any better.
- 1:40:17Speaker 13: Think it's how Evan described it. Would you describe it
- 1:40:20Speaker 13: like the pig scenario that you used?
- 1:40:21Speaker 11: Oh yeah, yeah, put the lipstick on the face.
- 1:40:25Speaker 13: That's why I think the problem is.
- 1:40:27Speaker 11: I also just like quickly on the on the offense,
- 1:40:30Speaker 11: like the receivers and the route running. I I I
- 1:40:33Speaker 11: was already on Troy Brown last year, like I was
- 1:40:35Speaker 11: already on this, Like I am I I am so
- 1:40:39Speaker 11: far out on Troy Brown wide receivers coach, Like they
- 1:40:42Speaker 11: make more poor route running miscues than any team that
- 1:40:46Speaker 11: I watch on film every single week, Like, for example,
- 1:40:50Speaker 11: just run the route to the sticks? Like can we
- 1:40:53Speaker 11: run the route to the sticks? It's third and fifteen
- 1:40:56Speaker 11: and Juju runs a fourteen yard route and Mac makes
- 1:41:00Speaker 11: a good throw and.
- 1:41:01Speaker 5: He fell down as he was catching it too.
- 1:41:03Speaker 3: I'll leave that part up that this was sort of
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: where my phrase accidental offense. He really came to the
- 1:41:09Speaker 3: forefront in this game. It was Douglas running into Bourn
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: and creating a forty two yard play. It was Juju
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: falling down for that catch. It was thrown across the
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: field to Bourne who scrapes it off the ground and
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: somehow bobbles it three times with four guys all over
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: him and he doesn't lose it and they get a
- 1:41:27Speaker 3: first down.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: Nothing, I mean, aside of maybe a couple of passes
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: to Hunter Henry, nothing looked right.
- 1:41:33Speaker 11: They have poor route running receivers. Their receivers are bad
- 1:41:38Speaker 11: route runners. And at some point, yes, that's like a
- 1:41:41Speaker 11: personnel evaluation of the receivers and who the guys they
- 1:41:45Speaker 11: are that bring in. At some point you have to
- 1:41:47Speaker 11: look at the coaching like what I know for a
- 1:41:51Speaker 11: fact it is a Zappi In the game, the game
- 1:41:53Speaker 11: was out of hand. DeVante Parker had a twelve yard route.
- 1:41:57Speaker 11: He ran it at ten yards and got tackled short
- 1:42:00Speaker 11: of the sticks and put them in third down. It's
- 1:42:02Speaker 11: a twelve yard route and he runs it at ten.
- 1:42:05Speaker 11: It's third and fifteen and you're running it at fourteen.
- 1:42:08Speaker 11: And this happens all the time. You know, the caller
- 1:42:10Speaker 11: asked about like the rub out of the bunch. They
- 1:42:13Speaker 11: were supposed to be a rub. They just didn't execute
- 1:42:15Speaker 11: the rub right, So like it just these are Howard,
- 1:42:19Speaker 11: this is two three years now of the same sort
- 1:42:22Speaker 11: of just sloppy receiver play.
- 1:42:26Speaker 9: I'd kind of put Juju in this category two of
- 1:42:28Speaker 9: like are you doing what's best for the team or
- 1:42:30Speaker 9: are you doing what's best for the guy you signed
- 1:42:32Speaker 9: this offseason because it's just four games in a row
- 1:42:35Speaker 9: where he's on a different planet with what they're doing.
- 1:42:37Speaker 10: He doesn't look explosive.
- 1:42:39Speaker 9: I mean, if there's somebody, I don't know how long
- 1:42:41Speaker 9: they can keep trying to trot him out there and
- 1:42:43Speaker 9: every week he's willing to talk and it's like five
- 1:42:45Speaker 9: targets won't catch what happened.
- 1:42:46Speaker 10: Like, I think he's one of those guys too.
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: Let's get to some of the emails. A web radio
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: at pages dot comy and says, so the team's one
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: and three, perhaps that's more than they deserve. Quarterback as
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: a wet noodle for an arm, but what he lacks
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: in physical gifts he makes up for with questionable accuracy
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: and subpart decision making. The coach seems to have lost it,
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: but plenty of people improve cognitively in their seventies. Luckily,
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: he hasn't let his ego get in the way of
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: him adapting his football philosophy and doing what's best for
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: the team. These past five years, I'm starting to think
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: that the head coach and the GM really don't get
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: along with each other. Why else would the GM give
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: the coach such a rag tag bag of jags to
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: mold into a team. And sure, the defense are down
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: to the top four corners and have probably lost their
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: leader for the season. But do you know what I
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: like to tell myself in troubled times such as these,
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: no one is coming. It's up to us.
- 1:43:37Speaker 9: Oh, it's kind of weird, how like last week it
- 1:43:41Speaker 9: made no sense, and now after they have two major injuries,
- 1:43:43Speaker 9: it's kind of like, all right, now I get it.
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: But you know what, like the injury thing to me
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: is like those two on Sunday like sort of snap
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: me in the face too, Like you know how you
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: just sometimes you have those years where like you know,
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: everybody's just getting hurt, and like every you think you're
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: getting a guy back, someone else goes out. This just
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: seems like one of those years, which sucks.
- 1:44:05Speaker 10: Because it's week four and it's the realization of thirteen
- 1:44:08Speaker 10: more weeks.
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: And I'm not trying to like besunshine dot com, like
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: they'll make fun of me tomorrow for being like, I'm
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: not trying to tell you that's why they won in three.
- 1:44:15Speaker 5: That's not why they won three.
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: Like I think we all know, like the offense hasn't
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: been good enough, but I do feel like every step
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: they're going to try to take forward, it seems like
- 1:44:25Speaker 3: there's gonna.
- 1:44:26Speaker 10: Be Trent Brown's gonna get hurt.
- 1:44:27Speaker 5: There's gonna be an injury coming back. You know, DeVante
- 1:44:29Speaker 5: Parker's nowt had Trent Brown great out in that game,
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: So was he ninety eight again or whatever he was?
- 1:44:35Speaker 11: He was fine, but two weeks in a row on,
- 1:44:38Speaker 11: you know, he's gotten the much easier matchups. I think
- 1:44:41Speaker 11: picking this was.
- 1:44:42Speaker 10: Kind of fun. I went into the real super slow
- 1:44:45Speaker 10: mo with his uh that false start he kind of had.
- 1:44:47Speaker 11: They didn't call him for it, but it looked like it.
- 1:44:49Speaker 10: It wasn't a false start.
- 1:44:50Speaker 11: Yeah, No, it was right on the ball.
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: I mean I was in there, like up.
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: I thought there was one that he was offside, but
- 1:44:56Speaker 5: I didn't think there were a lot of them there.
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: Usually there's like five or no.
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: So I know it was just that one happened.
- 1:45:00Speaker 10: To watch it, I'm like, Wow, he is moving at
- 1:45:02Speaker 10: the exact moment.
- 1:45:03Speaker 11: I mean, even the one he got called for last week.
- 1:45:06Speaker 11: I had to go frame by frame because it was
- 1:45:08Speaker 11: that close.
- 1:45:09Speaker 10: It's it's a missing is that like or is that
- 1:45:12Speaker 10: like a like a you know, Cadence thing where he
- 1:45:14Speaker 10: kind of is.
- 1:45:15Speaker 11: I don't know, they'll never tell us because that's that'd
- 1:45:17Speaker 11: be given away to give.
- 1:45:20Speaker 8: Man.
- 1:45:20Speaker 11: I mean, he he's really he's really freaking good at that.
- 1:45:24Speaker 10: But I I just this big leg comes kicking out.
- 1:45:27Speaker 10: It's hard to miss.
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Adam and Dublin. If we don't believe in top
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: ten quarterbacks because you can get a guy to run
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: the system, why do you then refuse to adequately invest
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: in the system O line and pass catching resources and
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: a total letdown of drafting and free agency of the
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: past three or four years.
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: So I think that he thinks that they have the pieces.
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: I think that's where That's why I'm worried about what's
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: he saying.
- 1:45:54Speaker 5: Do you still continuing?
- 1:45:55Speaker 11: Do you still think he does I do.
- 1:45:58Speaker 5: I think he thinks it's on The players are not
- 1:46:00Speaker 5: for a lack of execution.
- 1:46:02Speaker 11: But I definitely think he thinks it's on. He he
- 1:46:06Speaker 11: harps on turnovers like it's like they're the most important
- 1:46:09Speaker 11: thing in the world, and they turnover differential is a lot,
- 1:46:13Speaker 11: very indicative of wins and losses. There's no doubt about that, obviously.
- 1:46:16Speaker 11: But if you the game that he loved was last
- 1:46:19Speaker 11: week against the Jets, I guess two weeks ago, now,
- 1:46:22Speaker 11: you only scored thirteen points on offense. He came out
- 1:46:25Speaker 11: after the game and said, we're not gonna win very
- 1:46:28Speaker 11: many games only scoring fifteen points. But the second no turnovers.
- 1:46:32Speaker 11: That was like the whole thing.
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: If you're playing on the edge of the way they
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: do all the time each week, turnovers are a bigger deal.
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: The Rams are in the bottom of the league in turnovers,
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: but they make plays to overcome it.
- 1:46:43Speaker 5: We can't over Turnovers are obviously huge, well.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: They are, but sometimes you can overcome it. But making
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: your own pay Yeah.
- 1:46:50Speaker 13: I mean, I mean, look at Mahomes like some multiple
- 1:46:52Speaker 13: interceptions still wins the game. Same thing with Josh Allen.
- 1:46:55Speaker 13: He always has multiple interceptions, but he still has the
- 1:46:58Speaker 13: ability to make a play to win.
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: But if Bill knows, he'd never admit it. But with
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: this talent, we can't overcome them ever, so we have
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: to always be better.
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: But I don't I would never make fun of a
- 1:47:11Speaker 3: coach for stressing no protecting the ball. I think that
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: that's a wise way to put it. One of the
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: easiest ways to lose games is by turning the ball over.
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: I don't, and I know this is silly. I don't
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: think they lost thirty eight to three. They would have lost.
- 1:47:23Speaker 5: Twenty four to three, right if they didn't turn the ball.
- 1:47:25Speaker 5: They got thoroughly all played in that game.
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: It didn't make it.
- 1:47:28Speaker 3: And I think to sit there and just harp on
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: turnovers all the time and try to convince yourself we're
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: not that bad.
- 1:47:34Speaker 5: We just keep we'll just keep turning the ball over.
- 1:47:36Speaker 5: You're losing.
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: Like the forest through the trees. They need to be
- 1:47:40Speaker 3: able to move the ball and score points. They don't
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: just have to punt it, which, by the way, they're
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: also lasting the league in that Yeah, right, net punting.
- 1:47:48Speaker 9: And that's also just ignorant of what we've been watching
- 1:47:50Speaker 9: for three years. I mean, this is the same thing. Like,
- 1:47:52Speaker 9: I mean, that's why so many people, including us, are
- 1:47:54Speaker 9: kind of apoplectic. It's like, how many times do we
- 1:47:56Speaker 9: have to keep having the same conversation over And you
- 1:47:59Speaker 9: start the season and you have some hope and you
- 1:48:01Speaker 9: think it might be a little bit different.
- 1:48:02Speaker 10: We got an offensive coordinator, maybe he'll pull it all together.
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: And yet but and then at some point you have
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: to look and say, why are we turning it over?
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: Is it because our quarterback feels he needs to make
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: plays in this.
- 1:48:13Speaker 5: In this game, your quarterback was reckless with Yeah, that's
- 1:48:15Speaker 5: why you're trying.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: But like, you know, why why are we constantly losing
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: the turnover battle?
- 1:48:20Speaker 10: And you know, and why are we watching our point
- 1:48:22Speaker 10: production go out?
- 1:48:23Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:48:23Speaker 11: I mean, like that's the thing is, Like I I
- 1:48:25Speaker 11: do believe in the old saying of like you gotta
- 1:48:28Speaker 11: stop beating yourself before you can start tuning, and they
- 1:48:31Speaker 11: are beating themselves with the turnovers. Even I know I'm
- 1:48:34Speaker 11: on a record of saying I don't think that they're
- 1:48:37Speaker 11: that they're self inflicted wounds. But regardless, they're they're killing
- 1:48:40Speaker 11: themselves with the turnovers. But you had a turnover free
- 1:48:43Speaker 11: game against the Jets and you only score thirteen points.
- 1:48:46Speaker 5: That's my point.
- 1:48:47Speaker 11: Where does it get you?
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: If they lost Sunday thirty eight to twenty seven, I
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: would say the turnovers with that was the.
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: Difference, right right? But three points, I mean it was
- 1:48:57Speaker 5: over ten to three like that.
- 1:48:59Speaker 3: They and they have so let's just say, for arguments sake,
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: instead of the strip sack on that drive, they just
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: go three and out and punt. Do you not think
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: it would have been seventeen to three the way the
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: game was going, They're punting out of their end zone.
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: They're gonna take over at midfield. The Patriots had just
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: stopped in the previous possession for the one stop they
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: got in the first half, I gotta think Dallas was
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: gonna go down the field and score.
- 1:49:24Speaker 5: I mean, that's just the way it means what they did.
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: There's no guarantees to it, but I just think putting
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: everything on the turnovers as being the reason is very shortsighted.
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: Ryan says, I wish this email was more positive, but
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: I'm just ready to scrap the whole experiment, Mack and all,
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: from the drafting of Cole Strange to the signing of
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: Juju over Myers. I think it's time to sell everything
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: and restart. The team has a clear talent issue from
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: all over the roster, and I think they need to
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: accumulate draft capital and spend every cent of that seventy
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: five million cap to get this roster back on track.
- 1:49:56Speaker 9: Yeah, that's just as frustrating because after twenty twenty one,
- 1:49:59Speaker 9: you felt like they had a base line to build
- 1:50:00Speaker 9: off of, and you know, it's all right. They they
- 1:50:02Speaker 9: weren't great, they got blown out, but you felt like
- 1:50:04Speaker 9: we turned the corner and we're not gonna be one
- 1:50:06Speaker 9: of those terrible teams in there's just been so many
- 1:50:09Speaker 9: bad decisions and bad players signed that haven't produced in
- 1:50:12Speaker 9: bad draft picks. You know, that was the point where
- 1:50:14Speaker 9: you got to comment, not perfect, but you have to
- 1:50:16Speaker 9: have more hits than strikeouts, and right now, looking at
- 1:50:19Speaker 9: what they have, they have strikeouts.
- 1:50:21Speaker 10: But it's not only that they're doubling down on.
- 1:50:22Speaker 9: Guys like Godshaw and Parker, and it's like they're saying
- 1:50:26Speaker 9: to us, these are the guys we want.
- 1:50:28Speaker 10: We got them and we want them.
- 1:50:32Speaker 5: He's not that he's not a nice I was.
- 1:50:35Speaker 8: That was just for you.
- 1:50:36Speaker 11: I would also just like caution against like spending the
- 1:50:39Speaker 11: money in free agency again, I know, because that the
- 1:50:42Speaker 11: way to to acquire real talent is to trade for it.
- 1:50:45Speaker 11: Now you have to. If you're gonna require t Higgins,
- 1:50:49Speaker 11: they're gonna franchise tag him probably to keep him under
- 1:50:52Speaker 11: team control, and then they're gonna trade him on the tag,
- 1:50:55Speaker 11: so you're gonna have to trade for him. You're gonna
- 1:50:57Speaker 11: have to trade for Jerry Judy, You're gonna have to
- 1:50:59Speaker 11: trade for anything that's gonna move the needle. The guys
- 1:51:03Speaker 11: that reached free agency, I think we learned the last
- 1:51:06Speaker 11: time around.
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: There.
- 1:51:07Speaker 11: You know, maybe you get a Jude On and you
- 1:51:09Speaker 11: get one really you know, impact player out of it,
- 1:51:12Speaker 11: But for the most part, it's gonna just be guys
- 1:51:14Speaker 11: that are going to fill in the roster and give
- 1:51:16Speaker 11: you some experience. That's all well and good. But to
- 1:51:19Speaker 11: go out and spend top of the market money again,
- 1:51:21Speaker 11: I just don't. I don't think is the way to
- 1:51:23Speaker 11: get see.
- 1:51:24Speaker 5: I don't want to do it either.
- 1:51:27Speaker 3: The way they did it the last time, the way
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: they did it the last time has kind of been
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: proven is a quick fix. It's gonna make you better immediately,
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: and then you're gonna regress. And that's and everybody said, well,
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: that won't happen with the Patriots, that won't happen with Bill,
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: and it happened.
- 1:51:41Speaker 5: It's exactly what happened. It gave you an.
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: Influx of talent in the immediate and it allowed you
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: to win some games, and then you immediately regress back
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: to what you are. I like free agency to fill
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: a very specific need. I don't want to have like
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: seven eight guys signed to to Fred's point, at top
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: of the market money, Like, people have this impression that
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: because they got all these guys, they weren't the highest
- 1:52:08Speaker 3: paid guys. I mean, we remember some of the comments
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: Kendrick Boren, why did you sign here? They offered me
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: the most money. Yeah, you know, the two tight ends
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: with the highest paid tight ends in football when they signed, Like,
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: they didn't get these guys on the cheap. And I
- 1:52:22Speaker 3: think if you identify one guy to your point, like
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: in the trade market, if you identify Devonte Adams and
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: you say, I'm going to give him one hundred million
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: I'm fine with that, like just like I was fine
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: with Stefan gilmore like one guy. But if you want
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: to just try to like get five or six guys
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: and you expect them to all hit, that's very unrealistic.
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: Andrew and Bradford, My biggest issue with the team is
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: that they are built just good enough to be bad
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: teams and backups. This leads to seven backups. This leads
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: to seven and nine to nine win seasons, putting you
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: in NFL purgatory.
- 1:52:53Speaker 5: I don't think they're there.
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: Any results this season against non playoff teams won't change
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: my feeling on the team in a positive light. If
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: the goal is to have Bill get the wins record
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: as a Patriot, that's fine. I can understand mister Kraft
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: not wanting to see another Patriots legend obtained an all
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: time NFL record with another organization. I'll cheer hard for
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: every win that gets them closer to it, but I
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: am more excited for the team to actually commit to
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: rebuilding to a new future. I want the team to
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: look outside the organization for the next head coach, Me too,
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: and entire staff. Bill's organizational philosophy has only worked with
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: Tom Brady. His record without Tom and the history of
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: his coaching tree failures show me enough. I do not
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: want to hire a McDaniels, Patricia Judge, Flores Mayo, Bill O'Brien,
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: Steve Belichick or any of that ilk to take over.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: It's clear from players around the league that style of
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: coaching is not enjoyable to play under. It only gets
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: buy in if you're winning, and has only proven successful
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: with Tom. I'm interested to hear your thoughts. I would
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: just like to see the organization change to be offense focused.
- 1:53:54Speaker 10: Bad I think everybody's on board with that.
- 1:53:57Speaker 9: I just I mean, do you guys think there's a
- 1:53:59Speaker 9: chance that the Crafts would allow Bill Belichick to stay
- 1:54:01Speaker 9: here the next three seasons winning five, six seven games
- 1:54:04Speaker 9: through the next three years.
- 1:54:04Speaker 13: I don't think, based off what we've heard in at
- 1:54:07Speaker 13: the owners meetings, No, it's.
- 1:54:10Speaker 10: A hard sell.
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: I think they'd have to really completely collapse, and I
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: think it would have to be more off the field.
- 1:54:15Speaker 5: I'm worried about that.
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: I am. I don't think so. They're paying him as
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: the head, the best head coach in the league, and
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: they expect better results. It's a results based in business.
- 1:54:29Speaker 5: I agree with that mentality.
- 1:54:31Speaker 10: I mean, what do the fans get out of Bill
- 1:54:32Speaker 10: Belichick breaking the record? Like you know what I mean,
- 1:54:34Speaker 10: I don'tbody clamoring for that, Like I don't get it,
- 1:54:36Speaker 10: you know, I don't know.
- 1:54:38Speaker 5: I don't think you get any buzz out of it
- 1:54:40Speaker 5: at all.
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: For three years.
- 1:54:41Speaker 9: It's bugging when people call that like Bill just wants
- 1:54:43Speaker 9: to win the record, Like I'm like, okay, but like,
- 1:54:46Speaker 9: you gotta win games, Like it's not like you can
- 1:54:48Speaker 9: just screw around and win the next whatever it is
- 1:54:50Speaker 9: eighteen games that he is away, Like, you have to
- 1:54:52Speaker 9: get good and win a lot of games to break
- 1:54:54Speaker 9: the record out of all right.
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: Let's quickly get through some of these calls, please have
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: I mean, first, so I want to thank everyone, whether
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: whether you're upset or optimist, it doesn't matter. You're engaging
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: with us, you're listening. I appreciate that there's tons of
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: emails that we didn't get to. I apologize for that.
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: We could do a five.
- 1:55:10Speaker 5: Interaction today and that's what.
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: We need, and we wouldn't get through everything even if
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: we had five.
- 1:55:14Speaker 5: No one's bailing Fred, I like it.
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: Let's let's get to some of these calls. We'll get
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: this done. Uh, now, do is in Chicago? What's up?
- 1:55:23Speaker 19: Hey?
- 1:55:24Speaker 7: This is my first time following Thank you a fan
- 1:55:27Speaker 7: of your talk show.
- 1:55:28Speaker 23: So good, right, And I think one of the reasons
- 1:55:30Speaker 23: the offense is Charlotte this year, it is because he
- 1:55:32Speaker 23: lost Yakobe Myers. He's our only man beater and in
- 1:55:37Speaker 23: our third and you know four and five situations that
- 1:55:39Speaker 23: doesn't really have anyone to go to.
- 1:55:41Speaker 5: And if they do, miss I'm interested.
- 1:55:45Speaker 7: I mean, when do you think Bill is going to
- 1:55:48Speaker 7: be getting Milie cunning in?
- 1:55:50Speaker 22: Man?
- 1:55:50Speaker 7: He's our only QB that has any shot of like
- 1:55:54Speaker 7: a ceiling the Highed that Bailey Zappy or mac Joe's
- 1:55:58Speaker 7: or Bigree or whatever. I mean, he's I know, he's
- 1:56:00Speaker 7: like found drafted rookie, but you know, he has much
- 1:56:03Speaker 7: more talent.
- 1:56:05Speaker 5: I don't think.
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: I don't think he does.
- 1:56:07Speaker 5: I don't think he has a higher ceiling than any
- 1:56:09Speaker 5: of those guys. I really don't don't. I think he
- 1:56:11Speaker 5: can run.
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: I think this year he'd be more fun to watch.
- 1:56:13Speaker 5: Oh that's different.
- 1:56:15Speaker 10: I don't know about that though.
- 1:56:16Speaker 5: And I don't think he has a higher ceiling, high
- 1:56:18Speaker 5: ceiling at all anything.
- 1:56:19Speaker 11: And he's gonna be trying to run for his life
- 1:56:20Speaker 11: and they can get killed as much as they definitely
- 1:56:23Speaker 11: missed Jacoby and we were dead wrong or I was
- 1:56:25Speaker 11: dead wrong. I was about the Jacoby move. But like
- 1:56:28Speaker 11: they were really like a great team against man coverage
- 1:56:32Speaker 11: even with j No, but he was the only one
- 1:56:34Speaker 11: that had gave him right right now, they're I mean,
- 1:56:37Speaker 11: they're probably a little bit in.
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: A game this season so far, they couldn't have used
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: him if.
- 1:56:41Speaker 11: I if I put the stats up though of like
- 1:56:44Speaker 11: them against Man last year and then again against Man
- 1:56:46Speaker 11: this year, Like they're they're pretty much the same.
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: Bet Josh as an Arizona what's up, Josh?
- 1:56:52Speaker 24: Hey, yeah, thanks for taking my call. What what are
- 1:56:56Speaker 24: you guys thinking about taking a of the Jets and
- 1:56:58Speaker 24: get a veteran like her cousins is a free agent
- 1:57:01Speaker 24: man just for.
- 1:57:02Speaker 19: A couple of years.
- 1:57:03Speaker 24: And on top of that, you know, we got Cam
- 1:57:06Speaker 24: Newton for the chief, why not get car Wentz for
- 1:57:08Speaker 24: the chief of the backup?
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: Well, listen, let's just say they do turn it around
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: and it's not because a Mac, you know, and they
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: end up eight to nine, right, they're not in the
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: quarterback running. I could see bringing in a veteran quarterback.
- 1:57:22Speaker 5: Just Ridge quarter I'm not a crazy Yeah, I'm not
- 1:57:25Speaker 5: completely against signing Cousins.
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: I don't think it'll happen. But I am a thousand
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: percent against signing Carson Wentz as a backup. I think
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: if you, if anybody has watched Carson Wentz played the
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: last couple of years, no one would want I mean like,
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: which is why he's unemployed.
- 1:57:40Speaker 11: If you're talking about you're going to have a new
- 1:57:43Speaker 11: quarterback that's a rookie and you want to sign like,
- 1:57:46Speaker 11: that's why I'm not a post a veteran guide to
- 1:57:48Speaker 11: In case you need to bridge the gap a little bit,
- 1:57:51Speaker 11: then fine. But for the most part, most of these
- 1:57:53Speaker 11: rookies play right away that are good and should be
- 1:57:57Speaker 11: playing right away.
- 1:57:57Speaker 13: I know that.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: But what if you're not in the running for one
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: of them?
- 1:58:01Speaker 11: You have to win a lot more games than we
- 1:58:03Speaker 11: all think they're gonna win.
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: No, but I would just argue that I think you've
- 1:58:08Speaker 3: seen a couple of bridge guys that they're not going
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: to get their teams to the promised Land, like Gino
- 1:58:12Speaker 3: Smith and Seattle, even Fred's guy Baker Mayfield in Tampa.
- 1:58:16Speaker 3: They have three and one like so you can sort
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: of remain relevant and find a way to you know,
- 1:58:21Speaker 3: I think kirk Cousins could be three and one.
- 1:58:23Speaker 5: Maybe not with the four games that they played this year,
- 1:58:26Speaker 5: but I think kirk Cousins can be Okay, while you
- 1:58:30Speaker 5: wait for you know the answer, like, if you're not
- 1:58:32Speaker 5: in position to get a quarterback, I would rather watch
- 1:58:35Speaker 5: Kirk Cousins play next year than Mac Jones if it
- 1:58:37Speaker 5: continues like this.
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:58:40Speaker 5: Ok, thanks Paul, But I don't think it's going to happen.
- 1:58:44Speaker 5: That's my point.
- 1:58:45Speaker 1: What's up, William? Another person in the submarine? What's going on?
- 1:58:49Speaker 5: I wonder if it's our phones? Oh yeah, okay, well
- 1:58:54Speaker 5: all right, I can't hear will will all right.
