• 2:09
Speaker 1: and deliver it to somebody somewhere.
• 2:11
Speaker 3: I'm not gonna have a giant check. I feel like
• 2:14
Speaker 3: we drive a technic.
• 2:15
Speaker 1: The ten thousand dollars in a briefcase would be so
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: much cooler.
• 2:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean, I'll be a little annoyed with
• 2:20
Speaker 2: ten thousand dollar bills.
• 2:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, well you could do it thousand ten dollars bills.
• 2:25
Speaker 3: I feel like for safety reasons a check might be okay.
• 2:29
Speaker 3: Well for shopping a chick Like literally, that sounds like
• 2:33
Speaker 3: a bad higher story Ready to happen. Somebody walks out
• 2:35
Speaker 3: with ten thousand dollars of a briefcase and then they
• 2:37
  Speaker 3: get dumped.
• 2:38
Speaker 2: They sit it on top of their car and drive

Speaker 1: Maybe you get a reach out from us. If you
• 3:05
Speaker 1: do respond, say yeah, be happy to do it. And
• 3:08
Speaker 1: what happens is one of one of somebody from our
• 3:11
Speaker 1: team will give you a call and they'll do a
• 3:13
Speaker 1: g a guest club segment. Well, they'll interview you on
• 3:16
Speaker 1: camera and ask you to tell your stories and a
• 3:19
Speaker 1: little bit about yourself and tell your bad high stories
• 3:22
Speaker 1: and then we'll run them and react to them here
• 3:23
Speaker 1: on the show. And that's uh, those are always my favorite.
• 3:27
Speaker 1: Has some pretty cool guest clips happen, and I hope
• 3:31
Speaker 1: you know, I understand you told me the other day
• 3:33
Speaker 1: there's you know, probably forty people in the pipeline. So
• 3:37
Speaker 1: that's cool that that are interested.
• 3:39
Speaker 3: In just for the month to day.
• 3:41
Speaker 1: So yeah, that's awesome. All right, So why don't we
• 3:44
Speaker 1: get started, all right, you guys ready? Yeah, So this
• 3:49
Speaker 1: is a submitted story. It's anonymous, so it won't be
• 3:52
Speaker 1: saying anybody's name, but it's called the three Hour Secretary.
• 3:58
Speaker 1: When running my family business, I was hiring in a
• 4:00
Speaker 1: front desk worker. It was a client facing position with
• 4:04
Speaker 1: elderly clients and people in medical crisis. So a resume
• 4:09
Speaker 1: came in and I gave it a preferential treatment because
• 4:12
Speaker 1: her name was the same as my niece. Oh okay,
• 4:15
Speaker 1: but also her resume qualified her for the job. I
• 4:18
Speaker 1: should have done more checks and a better interview, but
• 4:21
Speaker 1: I was blinded by an intense need to get someone hired.
• 4:25
Speaker 1: She came in and immediately couldn't figure couldn't figure out
• 4:29
Speaker 1: how to log in music calculator or really even type calculator. Yeah, oh,
• 4:36
Speaker 1: or even type at all. After having her answer the
• 4:39
Speaker 1: phone and then working with her to help her understand
• 4:42
Speaker 1: she needed to not stress and remain calm, I found
• 4:45
Speaker 1: her crying and smoking on the back near the oxygen tanks.
• 4:50
Speaker 3: Oh, that sounds like a bomb. But I was just
• 4:52
Speaker 3: about to say that sounds like a disaster.
• 4:54
Speaker 1: Wait and a half, that's not good. I took her
• 4:56
Speaker 1: into the conference room and asked her, Hey, can you
• 4:59
Speaker 1: handle this job, because it seems like you can't. She
• 5:03
Speaker 1: blurted out that she would, that she absolutely couldn't, and
• 5:07
Speaker 1: ran out and never came back.
• 5:09
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, did it was this like I think
• 5:13
Speaker 2: she got the name?
• 5:15
Speaker 1: It was crazy. I think she she got the job
• 5:18
Speaker 1: because her name matched the niece and he like somehow.
• 5:21
Speaker 1: I was like, oh, well, I love my niece. I
• 5:23
  Speaker 1: love this person.
• 5:24
  Speaker 3: Oh gosh, yeah.
• 5:25
Speaker 1: Just if somehow it's going to translated.
• 5:28
Speaker 2: Did they say if it was like a young person
• 5:31
Speaker 2: or like I'm assuming, Maybe no, if they couldn't type,
• 5:35
Speaker 2: or you like but then not use a calculator?
• 5:40
Speaker 3: Yeah, oh crazy, I don't know how to use a calculator.
• 5:44
Speaker 2: Maybe it was just from like the stress of it all.
• 5:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, just too much.
• 5:47
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 5:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, you know you're like you're trying to make it inside.
• 5:52
Speaker 2: That's kind of sad.
• 5:54
Speaker 3: Sad, Yeah, so sad. Higher.
• 5:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, you feel bad. I would feel
• 5:58
Speaker 1: terrible for some It was crying on the first day,
• 6:03
Speaker 1: that you know, But it does. They readily admit early that, well,
• 6:10
Speaker 1: I should have done some more checks and I should
• 6:11
Speaker 1: have interviewed them better. But yeah, I looked at her
• 6:14
Speaker 1: name and said, you're hired.
• 6:15
Speaker 3: Yeah, that is pretty frazy.
• 6:17
  Speaker 2: I'll take you.
• 6:18
Speaker 1: Before we dive back into the chaos on the bad hire.

• 7:00
Speaker 1: e X dot IOWESO. So if someone applies here called Morgan,
• 7:08
Speaker 1: I'll be like, Morgans. Morgan's are awesome.
• 7:10
Speaker 3: God, Morgan as a Morgan, I can attest. I'm just kidding,
• 7:18
Speaker 3: but no, that's crazy.
• 7:19
Speaker 1: So I got another one here. So in two thousand
• 7:22
Speaker 1: and two, all right, uh, the CFO of a major
• 7:26
Speaker 1: Silicon Valley software company called Veritas is forced to resign
• 7:31
Speaker 1: after it comes out that he had been claiming a
• 7:33
Speaker 1: Stanford NBA on his resume for years. He did not
• 7:38
Speaker 1: have an NBA from Stanford. An anonymous tip from outside
• 7:41
Speaker 1: the company brought it to light. I always wondering about
• 7:45
Speaker 1: these anonymous tips, like it's to be somebody who knows.
• 7:48
Speaker 2: It's got to be somebody who's plotting against.
• 7:50
Speaker 1: Him, you know, or somebody knows yeah, yeah, it's like
• 7:53
Speaker 1: somebody who knows his real backstory and is like, you know,
• 7:57
Speaker 1: he's pissed off it up?
• 7:58
Speaker 2: What kind of like the the one that we read
• 8:02
Speaker 2: a couple of weeks agobout the lady from MIT that
• 8:05
Speaker 2: like nobody turned around until twenty eight years later it
• 8:07
Speaker 2: was like, well, this was this person just sitting on
• 8:09
Speaker 2: this information for thirty years.
• 8:12
Speaker 3: A dop gets sick. Over Yeah, or they wait till
• 8:15
Speaker 3: they get to a certain level. I feel like even
• 8:18
Speaker 3: like you see that with football players, like it, like
• 8:20
Speaker 3: they get to the NFL finally and then a story
• 8:22
Speaker 3: comes out about them.
• 8:24
Speaker 1: It always gets me how that happens. But whether it's
• 8:29
Speaker 1: that or phased people or politics or whatever, it's like
• 8:31
Speaker 1: there's always after they've achieved, then someone comes out from
• 8:34
Speaker 1: twenty years later he's like, you helped this. You helped
• 8:36
Speaker 1: this for twenty years. Yeah. His name was Kenneth Launchar
• 8:40
Speaker 1: loncchar He had been CFO since nineteen ninety seven, so
• 8:46
Speaker 1: for five years overseeing the financials of one of the
• 8:49
Speaker 1: biggest storage software companies in the industry. The fake degree
• 8:54
Speaker 1: had been sitting on his resume the entire time, and
• 8:57
Speaker 1: nobody had ever checked it out. When the news broke,
• 9:01
Speaker 1: the company stock dropped nearly twenty percent in a single
• 9:06
Speaker 1: dick wow Wow. Analysts immediately started questioning whether the financials
• 9:11
Speaker 1: could be trusted. Because of that, Merrill Lynch downgraded the stock.
• 9:15
Speaker 1: The CEO had to get on an emergency conference call
• 9:18
Speaker 1: to tell investors that the lie was isolated to his
• 9:21
Speaker 1: educational credentials and had no bearing on the company's books
• 9:26
Speaker 1: that sucks. Launcher released a statement saying he regretted the
• 9:30
Speaker 1: misstatement and that this is what gets me, oh god,
• 9:36
Speaker 1: right when people make these come out and make these statements,
• 9:38
Speaker 1: They're like, I regret my misstatement. That's a one, two, three, four, four,
• 9:51
Speaker 1: twelve letter word for a three letter word, they're going
• 9:55
Speaker 1: to replace a three letter I lied, I regret my lie,
• 9:58
Speaker 1: and go I made a misstatement in a statement. Yeah,
• 10:02
Speaker 1: a misteamous suggests like I did that. I was totally
• 10:05
Speaker 1: by accident that I typed that onto my resume, saved
• 10:08
Speaker 1: it and printed it and sent it to you.
• 10:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, an interviewed with that resume.
• 10:13
Speaker 2: Fancy way to say, right.
• 10:16
Speaker 1: I just can't stand it when you know people do that.
• 10:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, Oh my gosh.
• 10:23
Speaker 1: I regret in the statement and that his resignation was
• 10:26
Speaker 1: in the best interest of the company. Yeah you think.
• 10:30
Speaker 1: Yeah for real. Now here's the part that makes the story.
• 10:35
Speaker 1: The company's name. I'm gonna take this for granted. Veritas.
• 10:39
Speaker 1: Somebody verified this for me, But is Latin for truth
• 10:42
  Speaker 1: it is?
• 10:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, it is, Oh my god, Oh jeez.
• 10:50
Speaker 1: Their CFO had been lying on his resume for five
• 10:54
Speaker 1: at five years, I gotta believe it was longer than
• 10:56
Speaker 1: five years. My bed is this, this followed him like
• 10:59
Speaker 1: the whole I can't believe he's threw that on his
• 11:01
Speaker 1: resume to try to get the veritas he had the
• 11:03
Speaker 1: CFO job probably you know the CFO, but the CFO
• 11:07
Speaker 1: had been lying on his resume for five years at
• 11:11
Speaker 1: a company literally called truth.
• 11:15
Speaker 3: I feel like that also poses a bigger question, is
• 11:17
Speaker 3: if he was doing his job good for five years
• 11:21
Speaker 3: and his Ivy League degree didn't matter. Yeah, I guess
• 11:24
Speaker 3: that also poses a question of how important was that
• 11:26
Speaker 3: Ivy League degree if it didn't make him incapable.
• 11:30
Speaker 1: You're gonna start a tired debate.
• 11:32
Speaker 3: You don't watch it today, conversation. No, No, I got
• 11:40
Speaker 3: a four point zero in college. I'm all for good
• 11:42
Speaker 3: and good grades, doing the right thing, being truthful. But
• 11:46
Speaker 3: that also makes me be like he was doing his
• 11:47
Speaker 3: job good and nothing was wrong. Yeah, he just lied,
• 11:51
Speaker 3: which obviously don't lie. But yeah, he was good at
• 11:54
  Speaker 3: his job.
• 11:55
Speaker 1: By that guy. But I did think it was super
• 11:56
Speaker 1: interesting in the financial impact to the business that you know,
• 12:00
Speaker 1: and of course it probably quickly recovered. It wasn't you know,
• 12:03
Speaker 1: it wasn't a long term loss. Of company value, but
• 12:08
Speaker 1: you know, an immediate hit to shareholders, and there are
• 12:11
Speaker 1: people that that does affect. Yeah, there are people that
• 12:13
Speaker 1: are holding different types of options positions that it does.
• 12:18
Speaker 1: You know, it shoots through some point and causes something
• 12:21
Speaker 1: to happen in their portfolio that could trigger losses regardless.
• 12:25
Speaker 1: So yeah, that's uh, that's that's terrible. You know, we
• 12:30
Speaker 1: see so minute, so much of this. We tell these
• 12:33
Speaker 1: stories all the time, and it's like at the most
• 12:36
Speaker 1: senior level and it's like it's like a lie they
• 12:38
Speaker 1: told early and it just it just follows it, and
• 12:41
Speaker 1: it's like it's got to be this whole time, right,
• 12:44
Speaker 1: as they continue to grow their career, they you know,
• 12:47
Speaker 1: they told us lie to get in. You see this
• 12:50
Speaker 1: on read at all the time. People are like, lie, lie,
• 12:52
Speaker 1: just lie on your resume. You're like, well, this is
• 12:54
Speaker 1: this is the end result, right, Some success comes your
• 12:58
Speaker 1: way and you have to keep perpetuating the lie and
• 13:02
Speaker 1: then eventually it catches you. Right, Eventually someone looks and
• 13:07
Speaker 1: you're like, well, you know, I was young, I led
• 13:09
Speaker 1: up my resume. Yeah it wasn't a big deal. Well
• 13:11
Speaker 1: you lied you went to Stanford.
• 13:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, it's not like you were, like, I
• 13:15
Speaker 3: went to Cataba Community College, you know, I went to Stanford.
• 13:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, we love you Cataba.
• 13:19
Speaker 3: Yeah for sure, that was no slight at Gataba. I'm
• 13:22
Speaker 3: just saying like there's a big difference from like a
• 13:24
Speaker 3: community school to the Stanford, like I mean, especially because
• 13:28
Speaker 3: I mean he obviously didn't get an education verification check
• 13:31
Speaker 3: on that probably so.
• 13:34
Speaker 1: Right, So Morgan, I think you got.
• 13:35
Speaker 3: My story is like dead on the same thing pretty much.
• 13:38
Speaker 3: So my story is so. David Over is Walmart's vice
• 13:42
Speaker 3: president of corporate Communications. He's been there for eight years.
• 13:45
Speaker 3: He's a face of the company to the press, and
• 13:46
Speaker 3: by all accounts, he's doing a good job. In twenty fourteen,
• 13:50
Speaker 3: Walmart decides that they want to promote him to senior
• 13:52
Speaker 3: vice president, and as part of that promotion process, they
• 13:55
Speaker 3: put him through a more comprehensive assessment, which included leadership evaluation,
• 14:00
Speaker 3: drug testing, all the works, and somewhere in that process
• 14:03
Speaker 3: a third party background check that flags his education. David
• 14:07
Speaker 3: Tover had been listing himself as a nineteen ninety six
• 14:09
Speaker 3: graduate of the University of Delaware for nearly two decades.
• 14:13
Speaker 3: The University of Delaware confirmed that he had attended, studied art,
• 14:16
Speaker 3: walked at graduation and cap and down with his family watching,
• 14:19
Speaker 3: and left campus, but only was a few credits short
• 14:22
Speaker 3: of actually receiving his diploma, and there was no degree
• 14:25
Speaker 3: on file, so he graduated technically, but they didn't.
• 14:29
Speaker 1: He did that he didn't get the pomp and circumstance
• 14:31
Speaker 1: of graduation exactly, but didn't finish the details.
• 14:35
Speaker 3: Exactly, so when Walmart confronted him about it, he was
• 14:38
Speaker 3: up front. He explained that after four years of Delaware,
• 14:40
Speaker 3: he had moved to New York, landed a job, and
• 14:42
Speaker 3: a few months later he had found out that there
• 14:44
Speaker 3: had been some kind of mix up with his credits.
• 14:46
Speaker 3: He just had never went back to finish, and he said,
• 14:49
Speaker 3: I got a job and never looked back. He said,
• 14:51
Speaker 3: I didn't really think that an art degree would matter,
• 14:53
Speaker 3: and communications, which was the field I went into. Walmart
• 14:56
Speaker 3: told him that they couldn't promote him based on what
• 14:58
Speaker 3: they found, and he said that the promotion was the
• 15:00
Speaker 3: only job he wanted, so they agreed that he would
• 15:03
Speaker 3: leave eight years at the world's large retailer and a
• 15:06
Speaker 3: career built entirely in the field. He said the degree
• 15:08
Speaker 3: didn't even apply to and it was the promotion, the
• 15:11
Speaker 3: background check that nobody runs until you're already on your
• 15:13
Speaker 3: way up that finally caught it.
• 15:15
  Speaker 1: Wow.
• 15:16
Speaker 3: So I mean that's kind of dirty though, because I
• 15:18
Speaker 3: feel like it's like four credits. I would have just
• 15:20
Speaker 3: been like, hey, I would have finished it.
• 15:21
Speaker 1: And then I would have to dig it into a story. Right.
• 15:25
Speaker 3: Well, the college even verified that he walked a graduation
• 15:30
Speaker 3: that he was only a few credits short, and so
• 15:32
Speaker 3: like I would like, well, he told.
• 15:33
Speaker 1: The story, here's the way he told the story. He
• 15:36
Speaker 1: told the story like I thought I was good and
• 15:37
Speaker 1: I left and then they called me back later and said, oh,
• 15:39
Speaker 1: your credit short. Yeah, And I'm like, is that really
• 15:42
Speaker 1: the truth? Is that what happened? Or do they say, hey,
• 15:44
Speaker 1: I've never known I've never known a college to say
• 15:46
Speaker 1: you can walk in May, you can take the summer
• 15:49
Speaker 1: course and get it knocked out.
• 15:50
Speaker 3: So I know a bunch of people who do that.
• 15:53
Speaker 3: I after know a bunch of people who just did
• 15:55
Speaker 3: that recently, So I don't think it's irregularly do that.
• 15:57
Speaker 1: You can do that, Let you walk.
• 15:59
Speaker 3: In May, because the next time you're not going to
• 16:01
Speaker 3: be able to walk is until December. So like a
• 16:03
Speaker 3: lot of people do you want to walk?
• 16:05
Speaker 1: Often got a job, so you should you hope you.
• 16:07
  Speaker 2: Have a job.
• 16:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, So I think like that is a real thing.
• 16:11
Speaker 3: But I feel like the mix up of credits would
• 16:13
Speaker 3: be something that I find hard to believe. Like most
• 16:16
Speaker 3: of the people who know that they're going to walk,
• 16:17
Speaker 3: and that's what I was the graduation, I feel like
• 16:20
  Speaker 3: they know it's.
• 16:21
Speaker 1: Like an agreement between you and the school. I didn't
• 16:22
Speaker 1: know if they would do that. Yeah, they do that,
• 16:25
Speaker 1: and there's kind of suspect. I'm like, yeah, you know,
• 16:27
Speaker 1: and then you're like, oh, I got my job and
• 16:28
Speaker 1: I going but you walk.
• 16:29
Speaker 3: They just hand you an empty degree. So like I
• 16:31
Speaker 3: mean like they he had to know, like he definitely
• 16:34
Speaker 3: got no degree that day. It was definitely an empty degree.
• 16:37
Speaker 3: They didn't print it out for him.
• 16:39
Speaker 1: So it could have been an empty degree. We're just saying,
• 16:40
  Speaker 1: we don't know.
• 16:41
Speaker 3: But exactly. Yeah, that's just my like from my experience
• 16:44
  Speaker 3: with graduating, Like.
• 16:45
Speaker 1: That's I kind of fall on like two sides here
• 16:47
Speaker 1: because it's like, yeah, if it was technically an error
• 16:50
Speaker 1: and he's right, I would I feel Walmart need to
• 16:54
Speaker 1: feel bad. Yeah, sometimes you get to listen to the circumstances.
• 16:57
Speaker 1: Even even if it was a criminal in criminal charges,
• 16:59
Speaker 1: you got to listen to this circumstance and get some
• 17:01
Speaker 1: context and figure out what happened. Clearly, this guy was
• 17:03
Speaker 1: doing a good job, He's going to get provoted to
• 17:05
Speaker 1: senior vice president. Wasn't about the quality of his work,
• 17:08
Speaker 1: And you get this issue and you go, was it purposeful?
• 17:11
Speaker 1: Did he do it on purpose?
• 17:12
Speaker 3: I feel like if you're the face of the company,
• 17:14
Speaker 3: and Walmart knows you're the face of the company, and
• 17:16
Speaker 3: you've been so much in the press, I feel like
• 17:18
Speaker 3: the right thing to do would have been, like, Hey,
• 17:20
Speaker 3: let's go have you finish up that degree, take go
• 17:22
Speaker 3: take your four credits whatever it is, and then you
• 17:25
Speaker 3: come back and you take that leadership role instead of like,
• 17:27
Speaker 3: I don't want to, like you know what I mean,
• 17:28
Speaker 3: like if that was really that important to Walmart that
• 17:31
Speaker 3: he go and finish that or you know, I don't know, but.
• 17:35
  Speaker 1: I think it's it's tricky. I'd be curious what HR
• 17:38
Speaker 1: people had to say about it.
• 17:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's kind of an interesting story.
• 17:42
Speaker 1: Wow, what a big one, and like derailed, Yeah, and
• 17:47
Speaker 1: deralled to and Derella's career. I hope he went right
• 17:51
Speaker 1: back and finish it up.
• 17:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, or got a nice job after that
• 17:55
Speaker 3: with somebody who didn't really care about that.
• 17:57
Speaker 1: You know, it would lean on us as we would
• 17:59
Speaker 1: lean owns Walmart experience, the art degree. All right, Emma,
• 18:05
Speaker 1: what do you got?
• 18:07
Speaker 2: My story is also similar to these were just full
• 18:09
Speaker 2: of fraud stories. So in two thousand and one, Notre
• 18:15
Speaker 2: Dame hired Georgia O'Leary as their head football coach. This
• 18:19
Speaker 2: is one of the most coveted coaching jobs in the
• 18:21
Speaker 2: entire sport, and they had just found their guy. They
• 18:24
Speaker 2: lasted five days. It came out almost immediately after the
• 18:29
Speaker 2: announcement that Alary's resume had some significant problems. He had
• 18:32
Speaker 2: claimed a master's degree from New York University. He didn't
• 18:36
Speaker 2: have one. He had also claimed to have earned three
• 18:39
Speaker 2: varsity letters playing football at the University of New Hampshire.
• 18:42
Speaker 2: He had never played a single game there. Notre Dame
• 18:45
Speaker 2: gave him the opportunity to resign, which he did, issuing
• 18:48
Speaker 2: a public apology for what he called inaccuracies in his biography.
• 18:52
Speaker 1: He said other long word, he.
• 18:54
Speaker 2: Said he was embarrassed and sorry for what he had
• 18:57
Speaker 2: brought upon the university, it's alumni, and its fans. The
• 19:01
Speaker 2: wild part of this story is that O'Leary was genuinely
• 19:04
Speaker 2: a good football coach. He had built a strong record
• 19:06
Speaker 2: at Georgia Tech before Notre Dame came calling. Nobody was
• 19:10
Speaker 2: questioning his ability to do the job. Just a story
• 19:12
Speaker 2: he had been telling about himself for years to get there.
• 19:15
Speaker 2: He eventually landed as head coach at the University of
• 19:18
Speaker 2: Central Florida, where he coached for over a decade. So
• 19:21
Speaker 2: the career survived, but the Notre Dame job was gone
• 19:24
Speaker 2: in five days over credentials he never even needed to
• 19:27
Speaker 2: lie about in the first place.
• 19:28
Speaker 3: Of course, a Notre Dame, a school that is more prestigious,
• 19:31
Speaker 3: they're going to be like than Central Florida, Obviously they're
• 19:33
Speaker 3: going to be like, no, you lied about your degree.
• 19:35
Speaker 3: But I mean the thing that if I was hiring
• 19:37
Speaker 3: a football coach, this is just me personally, I would
• 19:39
Speaker 3: care more about him not starting in the three.
• 19:41
Speaker 1: Sears controversy of getting caught right, then the media is
• 19:45
Speaker 1: on you and then it's just this thing, yeah, rusher
• 19:47
Speaker 1: cooker of everything right in that situation, and like they
• 19:52
Speaker 1: almost have to like let you know, listen, you know,
• 19:55
Speaker 1: everyone in the whole building's calling you a liar, and
• 19:57
Speaker 1: the media is calling you a liar, you know, no character.
• 20:01
Speaker 1: And then he comes out owns it, I screwed up.
• 20:05
Speaker 1: It was inaccurate. It's a heck of a lot better
• 20:08
Speaker 1: than a misstatement. Yeah, but he says it was inaccurate.
• 20:12
Speaker 1: I put something in accurate on my on my resume
• 20:14
Speaker 1: that that is close to saying I lied. Yeah, I
• 20:17
Speaker 1: mean it's still not the truth. Yeah.
• 20:20
Speaker 2: But then of course you're going to have people that
• 20:21
Speaker 2: are like, oh, he's just apologizing because he got caught,
• 20:23
Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah, Like yeah, you know, everybody, everybody's
• 20:26
Speaker 2: going to it looks like goes, hey, we're going to
• 20:30
Speaker 2: take him on his record.
• 20:33
Speaker 1: And now that that's in the open, can you imagine
• 20:37
Speaker 1: just going to bed every night just you know, maybe
• 20:39
Speaker 1: it's you know, it's constantly on your heels. You know,
• 20:42
Speaker 1: it's like this weight over your head that maybe you
• 20:46
Speaker 1: forget about it. Maybe you tell it and you forget
• 20:48
Speaker 1: about it. But I mean, you know, you've been telling
• 20:51
Speaker 1: the story that you played college football, You've been telling
• 20:53
Speaker 1: the story that you graduated, you had a degree, and
• 20:55
Speaker 1: you're really a high school graduate that never played any football.
• 20:58
  Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mean see, I couldn't.
• 21:01
Speaker 1: Feel deep inside you gotta feel like.
• 21:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, I couldn't live with myself. I would feel safe.
• 21:06
Speaker 1: All the time. I couldn't do it. I gotta believe it.
• 21:08
  Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a horrible liar, so I couldn't like, I
• 21:11
Speaker 3: could not get away with this. Yeah, I'm a really
• 21:14
Speaker 3: bad liar. And my no sherils flare like really bad.
• 21:17
Speaker 3: So like you might know them.
• 21:20
Speaker 1: That's good. That's really good to know.
• 21:21
Speaker 3: No storm like knows exactly what I'm lying because my
• 21:24
  Speaker 3: nose just goes.
• 21:25
Speaker 1: Yeah. So the other day when you when you said
• 21:28
Speaker 1: you were working remote, were you actually working?
• 21:31
Speaker 3: I promise I was working on a Friday.
• 21:34
Speaker 1: That was the hat day, chucking the nose.
• 21:41
Speaker 3: I never workund keep in by, I did the one
• 21:43
Speaker 3: hot day a week that I work remote.
• 21:47
Speaker 1: All right, Hey, listen, that's it. That was awesome. Good.
• 21:50
Speaker 1: Good resume fraud stories that like really significant ones. Things
• 21:53
Speaker 1: are all could have been caught by moral story.
• 21:56
Speaker 2: Do not buy the resume. It will catch up tea, Like,
• 21:59
  Speaker 2: what's the point.
• 21:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, when you're hiring these roles, you know you gotta
• 22:04
Speaker 1: sometimes it's these roles that move up and like remove
• 22:08
Speaker 1: HR out of them and they break the process. You know,
• 22:11
Speaker 1: HR has built the process. They got to figure it out.
• 22:14
Speaker 1: They know how to do it. They're vetting, their running
• 22:15
Speaker 1: their system. And and you know, some executives, some you know,
• 22:20
Speaker 1: athletic director, some you know, reaches down and pulls somebody
• 22:25
Speaker 1: up out of the process, says, hey, we're going to
• 22:27
Speaker 1: hire this guy. We're gonna move this guy. And then
• 22:28
Speaker 1: you find out and that's and and they break the process,
• 22:32
Speaker 1: and and and and that's how it happens. So, you know,
• 22:37
Speaker 1: kudos to good HR teams. Uh, you know, you got
• 22:40
Speaker 1: to stay, you got to keep keep them involved. I
• 22:42
Speaker 1: think well appreciate it. Hey, that's it for us today.
