- 0:01Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:03Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. The world's
- 0:09Speaker 1: vigion poet, Welcome to patri Gets Unfiltered. I'll bring some
- 0:19Speaker 1: food over and entertain her baby daddy. That's a big
- 0:22Speaker 1: question in my house is what's the food going to
- 0:23Speaker 1: be thinking? Oh, I thought it was who's the baby daddy?
- 0:26Speaker 1: I have pure joy being on on the tennis court.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You know, I get the smell of the balls. It's
- 0:32Speaker 1: just be said in a long flight of taking your
- 0:33Speaker 1: shoes off, because your feet do like swell up a
- 0:36Speaker 1: little when you do that. I'll take my shoes off.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You're getting the don't you're getting the visual finger wag
- 0:42Speaker 1: from Alice. I think, Alex, just I think you'd like
- 0:46Speaker 1: my feet. I told Paul there was there's somebody crammed
- 0:49Speaker 1: in between, and I zoomed in on the legs. Didn't
- 0:52Speaker 1: look like Paul's legs, not that I do you imagine
- 0:54Speaker 1: he said that to me. I zoomed in on the legs.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It didn't look like your legs. Right at least Fred
- 0:57Speaker 1: looked at the sneakers to see if you could recognize then, right,
- 1:00Speaker 1: which is what I do. Has always been a like guy. Anyway,
- 1:03Speaker 1: that's any other question. Are you familiar with Bledsoe's vineyard?
- 1:11Speaker 1: What about Stag's lead Artemis? I believe wine cellars vineyard?
- 1:18Speaker 1: I don't know. This is Patriot's Unfiltered, fueled by Duncan.
- 1:25Speaker 1: All right, we're here Patriots Unfiltered. That's right, folks. Fred
- 1:28Speaker 1: is out this week. He's in sunny Aruba, so you're
- 1:30Speaker 1: stuck with me. Deuce and joined, of course, Paul Parolo,
- 1:34Speaker 1: Alex Francisco and Evan Lazar. We got the fearsome forsome
- 1:37Speaker 1: here today. And of course, guys, we got a big game,
- 1:40Speaker 1: a big game to talk about here, Northeastern winning the
- 1:42Speaker 1: being Pot, that's all anyone's been talking about, celebrating like
- 1:45Speaker 1: they had just won the Stanley Cup. It's climatic though
- 1:48Speaker 1: with the shootout. It wasn't real happy with her, but
- 1:51Speaker 1: you know, four out of five, what are you gonna do?
- 1:52Speaker 1: And it's Drew Blitzo's birthday. It's kind of a little
- 1:55Speaker 1: Parolo holiday too. It is a little bit of you
- 1:57Speaker 1: must be feeling good today. I was. I was. I
- 1:59Speaker 1: was very happy last night. I kid of celebrating while
- 2:02Speaker 1: trying not to wake Bath up a little fist pump,
- 2:05Speaker 1: and she had to work today, so you know, me
- 2:07Speaker 1: and the boys were celebrating quietly. It's not the same
- 2:10Speaker 1: as watching an endless overtime that you don't know when
- 2:13Speaker 1: it might happen. Especially, I mean, I'm sure you've stayed
- 2:15Speaker 1: up for some bean pots on Monday nights and that
- 2:17Speaker 1: go to overtime and you're like, I could be up till. Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Those don't usually end well, though not for you. This
- 2:22Speaker 1: one ended well, the shootout. So we're here talking some pats.
- 2:26Speaker 1: We're now officially on the offseason. Of course, we're going
- 2:28Speaker 1: to talk about the Super Bowl and Kansas City Chiefs
- 2:31Speaker 1: getting their second title in four years. And I guess
- 2:34Speaker 1: I'll just say it off the top. I mean, I'm
- 2:36Speaker 1: just I gotta I said, I think going out of
- 2:38Speaker 1: our show on Thursday, if the Chiefs win, it's gonna
- 2:40Speaker 1: be because the Patrick mahone was playing out of his
- 2:42Speaker 1: mind that second half. He played out of his mind.
- 2:45Speaker 1: He just I think showed why he is the best
- 2:46Speaker 1: quarterback in the game right now. And Indy Reid deservedly
- 2:49Speaker 1: getting a lot of credit too. I mean, just you know,
- 2:51Speaker 1: just seeing it the pieces that they did it with.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I mean, and I even think I brought up Pa Chaco,
- 2:55Speaker 1: but like that guy runs like a maniac. He had
- 2:57Speaker 1: some big runs. But but they did it, you know,
- 2:59Speaker 1: kind of the old fashioned. Of course they had Kelsey,
- 3:01Speaker 1: but just credit to read and what he did to
- 3:04Speaker 1: kind of counter the Eagles there in the second half.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I know, some big moments we can get into, but
- 3:08Speaker 1: that was just my big takeaway was was wile Patrick
- 3:11Speaker 1: Mahomes and you know, congratulations to the chief. Sorry sorry
- 3:13Speaker 1: if that you know some of them will I touched
- 3:17Speaker 1: on that this weekend with Andy two. We've been talking
- 3:18Speaker 1: a little bit about that, but um, you know, at
- 3:21Speaker 1: this point, how do you how do you deny it?
- 3:22Speaker 1: They're just they're also I'll let you know Evan and
- 3:25Speaker 1: Alex talk about the game itself. Just to quick aside
- 3:27Speaker 1: on that topic. I had a guy I used to
- 3:30Speaker 1: work with. I had this long thing on Facebook where
- 3:33Speaker 1: he said, you know, this whole idea that Patriots fans
- 3:36Speaker 1: are rooting against Kansas City is bs And you know,
- 3:39Speaker 1: I don't like Kansas City because I think they have
- 3:42Speaker 1: a lot of bad guys. And that's why I root
- 3:44Speaker 1: for Cincinnati. Because I like Joe Burrow, to which I
- 3:47Speaker 1: immediately sparted Joe Mixon. He's a guy really worth getting behind,
- 3:51Speaker 1: really upstanding citizen. I said, just admit it. And he's like, well,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you gotta told me what I root for? Oh? Nick
- 3:57Speaker 1: at all, Mattic Oh no, it's a guy used to
- 3:59Speaker 1: work to tell me how to be a fan. That's
- 4:01Speaker 1: basically what he said to me. And I was like, yeah, okay,
- 4:03Speaker 1: whatever makes you sleep better at night. I don't like
- 4:05Speaker 1: kids a city you can just to follow it up with,
- 4:09Speaker 1: I root for Cincinnati like any other team. He could
- 4:12Speaker 1: have said, Joe, you know, as if he was gonna
- 4:14Speaker 1: have people not like me. They were waiting like every team.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Every team's got him. Every team has them, but has
- 4:23Speaker 1: that color? What team you root for or not? Anyway,
- 4:27Speaker 1: that was just the critics. Do you guys think yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 1: would you think of the game him? I think that
- 4:30Speaker 1: everybody's getting their flowers that deserves their flowers. Patrick Mahomes
- 4:35Speaker 1: and he read even a few. You know. Nick Boltan
- 4:37Speaker 1: on defense for the Chiefs had a great But I
- 4:40Speaker 1: want to give some credit to the GM bread veach too,
- 4:43Speaker 1: because they trade Tyree Hill. Everybody's thinking there's offense is
- 4:47Speaker 1: going to take a huge step back without Hill, and
- 4:49Speaker 1: I think that in some ways their ceiling maybe wasn't
- 4:52Speaker 1: quite as high offensively without him there. But I think
- 4:55Speaker 1: what he did, what they did was they didn't just
- 4:59Speaker 1: replace Tyree Hill with one person, right. They went out
- 5:01Speaker 1: and they signed a bunch of different guys. They drafted
- 5:05Speaker 1: sky More in the second round, they drafted Picheco on
- 5:07Speaker 1: Day three, they signed mvs, They signed Juju Smith Schuster,
- 5:12Speaker 1: And I think that there's something to be said for
- 5:14Speaker 1: the fact that when you have a great quarterback, it's
- 5:16Speaker 1: kind of like how the Patriots were built for years.
- 5:19Speaker 1: When you have a great quarterback like that and you
- 5:22Speaker 1: have one guy in Travis Kelsey in the passing game
- 5:25Speaker 1: like the Patriots had with Groundcoscan, they had Edelman too,
- 5:28Speaker 1: But a lot of these other guys are the Chris Hogans,
- 5:31Speaker 1: are the Brandon Lloyd's, are these other complimentary pieces. And
- 5:35Speaker 1: I thought that they have a book now out there
- 5:38Speaker 1: for you too if you have the quarterback, which is
- 5:40Speaker 1: obviously a big if, but they have a book out
- 5:42Speaker 1: there now where it says depth matters, like you can
- 5:46Speaker 1: build a team through depth at the skill positions, as
- 5:49Speaker 1: long as you have a great quarterback and one great
- 5:51Speaker 1: weapon like Kelsey, then you can go ahead and build
- 5:54Speaker 1: out the depth of the group. And it does remind
- 5:57Speaker 1: me offensively of how the twenty ten Patriots were built.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You know, if Gronkowski being the coverage you know, the
- 6:05Speaker 1: guy that demands the coverage and the game plan guy.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But then you just have kind of reliable players in
- 6:10Speaker 1: all the other positions. And I think it made Patrick
- 6:14Speaker 1: Mahomes in some ways better because he had to spread
- 6:16Speaker 1: the ball around and be more of a efficient quarterback
- 6:20Speaker 1: versus just looking for the big plays all the time.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I think that last part is the most important from Mahomes.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I think Kansas City's offense got a little bit stale
- 6:28Speaker 1: last year. As great as Tyreek Hill is, and I'm
- 6:30Speaker 1: not telling you he's overrated, he's not. He's great, but
- 6:33Speaker 1: I think that too often he just sort of dropped
- 6:35Speaker 1: back and relied on I'm just gonna huck it down
- 6:38Speaker 1: the field and Tyreek Hill is gonna make a play.
- 6:40Speaker 1: That's how their season ended. If you recall, in that
- 6:43Speaker 1: overtime loss to Cincinnati was a pick on a heave
- 6:46Speaker 1: downfield to Tyreek Hill that Hill didn't really do it.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I think it was tyreek Hill that he was thrown
- 6:51Speaker 1: to one that play. Don't let the fact, don't let
- 6:54Speaker 1: the facts get in the way if it wasn't, But
- 6:57Speaker 1: just uh, I think that it kind of I think
- 7:00Speaker 1: it dovetailed into the way, you know, that whole thing
- 7:03Speaker 1: that people talked about defense has changed this year and
- 7:06Speaker 1: did a better job of, you know, kind of keeping
- 7:09Speaker 1: things in front with the two high looks. And I
- 7:11Speaker 1: don't know how valid that is and how much that
- 7:14Speaker 1: sort of got into the narrative, but I think it
- 7:17Speaker 1: played right into the way Kansas City had to play
- 7:19Speaker 1: because they didn't have those electric guys that that could
- 7:22Speaker 1: get downfield as one. And then even to feed into that,
- 7:24Speaker 1: Vic Fangio comes in on what like a two day
- 7:26Speaker 1: contract with the Eagles with that, that's his exact thing
- 7:29Speaker 1: like trying to bring that to the table, which you know,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I thought was funny. There was some debate going on
- 7:33Speaker 1: with that, and it worked perfectly for Mahomes in the
- 7:36Speaker 1: Super Bowl because the one thing that we all talked about,
- 7:38Speaker 1: why I know, that's why I picked Philadelphia. I thought
- 7:41Speaker 1: that defensive line would wreak havoc. Not once Kansas City
- 7:44Speaker 1: just said, were you gonna let you get anywhere near us?
- 7:47Speaker 1: We're gonna throw the ball short quick, You're gonna get
- 7:49Speaker 1: get it out. We're gonna be efficient in the passing game,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and you're not. Your past rush is not going to
- 7:53Speaker 1: dominate this game. Whereas I think if you still had
- 7:56Speaker 1: Tyreek Hill and you're looking to make plays down field,
- 7:59Speaker 1: you're going to roll the dice on some of those plays.
- 8:01Speaker 1: They never did that. They never got close. Really, the
- 8:03Speaker 1: Eagles led the league this year. I believe in quarters
- 8:06Speaker 1: coverage right, two high safeties, four guys across the back end,
- 8:10Speaker 1: and that was the Vic Fangio system. It's all of
- 8:12Speaker 1: this quarters coverage, match quarters things like that, and Kansas
- 8:16Speaker 1: City on top of throwing some of this stuff underneath
- 8:19Speaker 1: and the quick game stuff and domain in the middle
- 8:21Speaker 1: of the field. They also have Pacheco now to run
- 8:23Speaker 1: the football a little bit against those lighter boxes, and
- 8:26Speaker 1: I really think that that played a factor in the
- 8:28Speaker 1: way that the Eagles were able to defend them too.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So it was a bad matchup and ended up playing
- 8:33Speaker 1: out this way. But I think even beforehand going in
- 8:36Speaker 1: it was sort of a bad matchup in a lot
- 8:38Speaker 1: of ways for the Eagles defense, just because of the
- 8:40Speaker 1: way that the Chiefs can now be balanced and sort
- 8:43Speaker 1: of beat you in a multitude of different ways and
- 8:45Speaker 1: not just chucking the football down the field. The Chiefs
- 8:48Speaker 1: now Patrick Mahomes is averaged up to target area yards.
- 8:51Speaker 1: All that kind of stuff is nowhere near as high
- 8:53Speaker 1: as what it used to be with Tyreek Hill. So
- 8:55Speaker 1: they're not a chuck it team anymore. They are in
- 8:58Speaker 1: effishing offense, and it was sort of a bad matchup
- 9:00Speaker 1: for that Eagles defense. But I would also be remissed
- 9:03Speaker 1: without mentioning the field conditions like that. To me, the
- 9:07Speaker 1: call at the end of the game, the punt, I
- 9:09Speaker 1: think is it gets amplified because of the narratives around
- 9:12Speaker 1: officiating right now because of the moment that the call
- 9:15Speaker 1: was made in. But the real disservice to the game
- 9:18Speaker 1: was the field conditions. I mean, that was a slipping
- 9:20Speaker 1: slide for most of that game, and to have the
- 9:24Speaker 1: biggest game in the world to be played on an
- 9:26Speaker 1: ice rink is just it's it's a bad look. It's
- 9:29Speaker 1: really a bad look for the league. I think I
- 9:31Speaker 1: saw some of the footage on the punt return that
- 9:32Speaker 1: you know, near the end with Tony and like just
- 9:34Speaker 1: it was like everybody at once, like everybody was on ice.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It was there's a montage video going around it's so bad. Yeah,
- 9:40Speaker 1: the cutting edge. Uh but why why is it so bad?
- 9:44Speaker 1: I mean everybody outside right like they wheel it out,
- 9:50Speaker 1: it gets real like what like it's almost like it's
- 9:53Speaker 1: not able to root your movie like for a team
- 9:56Speaker 1: or oh I got you. It was really somebody tweeted
- 10:00Speaker 1: out before the game all the optics of the grass
- 10:02Speaker 1: and how they spent two years like getting this grass
- 10:05Speaker 1: ready for the Super Bowl and is it can you
- 10:08Speaker 1: break in grass? Like is that? Like? Is it? No
- 10:10Speaker 1: one had ever played on that grass before. It was
- 10:12Speaker 1: a hybrid of like a couple of kids. I knew
- 10:16Speaker 1: you would do that, of a couple of kinds of golf,
- 10:18Speaker 1: the great thing off fairway grass grass. Yeah, and it
- 10:23Speaker 1: just I just don't think it worked. It wasn't Maybe
- 10:26Speaker 1: it was maybe it just hadn't taken yet. Fully, I don't.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I don't know what field normally, Yes, why not just
- 10:33Speaker 1: make no? Is it grass? Its grass? I know that
- 10:37Speaker 1: we couldn't go back to the fred montage if they
- 10:39Speaker 1: pull it out shoft and then it goes back in
- 10:42Speaker 1: hot when I was standing on the problem. But I mean,
- 10:48Speaker 1: to me, I always think of Super Bowl forty nine
- 10:50Speaker 1: when the Patriots played the Seahawks. There, right, just how
- 10:53Speaker 1: bright that green was, Like that grass always just kind
- 10:56Speaker 1: of jumped off the screen to me. In the logos,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I think it were a problem. Yea with all the
- 11:01Speaker 1: paint that was right. I know it's the Super Bowl, Like,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I don't need a thirty five yard logo so the
- 11:06Speaker 1: kicker can slip. Yeah, now, fortunately was a bomb anyway,
- 11:10Speaker 1: it was a touchback, but like why, I mean, you
- 11:12Speaker 1: shouldn't have your kickers falling down kicking off. It's also
- 11:15Speaker 1: kind of tough to tell where they are on the
- 11:17Speaker 1: field when the logo takes up fifty yards, like it's
- 11:21Speaker 1: it's like, oh wait, there they're in the red zone.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Like the logos there, it's too big, too much, h
- 11:27Speaker 1: one interesting. I know, we'll work our way toward the
- 11:29Speaker 1: end of the game, but I just I was so
- 11:31Speaker 1: pissed when it looked like Mahomes got hurt. And that
- 11:34Speaker 1: was like, I think I learned a little bit about
- 11:36Speaker 1: something about myself because like, yes, I was kind of
- 11:38Speaker 1: rooting for the Eagles and all that stuff. But I
- 11:41Speaker 1: just wanted to see a healthy game and to you know,
- 11:44Speaker 1: see these guys go head to head that I mean,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I just I thought when he went down, I'm like,
- 11:48Speaker 1: I don't know what it's gonna look like. He's about
- 11:49Speaker 1: to take a forty minute halftime. You know, maybe they
- 11:52Speaker 1: had to to shoot him up again or something. But yeah, absolutely,
- 11:55Speaker 1: that's where the long halftime helps you. So I just
- 11:58Speaker 1: that that moment for me, I was I was a
- 12:00Speaker 1: little bit worried that this was going to end up,
- 12:02Speaker 1: you know, being like the NFC Championship, especially like where
- 12:04Speaker 1: the Chiefs were at that point in the game. Obviously
- 12:07Speaker 1: that was before that. That just makes Patrick mahomes is
- 12:10Speaker 1: like performing so much more impressive to me. I thought
- 12:12Speaker 1: they were toast after that. Yeah, And I've also tried
- 12:14Speaker 1: to turn over new leaf. I'm trying not to get
- 12:16Speaker 1: worked up about any ancillary family members or any of
- 12:19Speaker 1: that stuff. I'm trying to be TikTok. I saw plenty
- 12:24Speaker 1: of like Patrick Mahomes getting interviewed, was doing his postgame interview,
- 12:28Speaker 1: doing his postgame interview, and his brothers taking selfie videos
- 12:32Speaker 1: in the bat Like, oh my god, you can't even
- 12:34Speaker 1: it's like you can't even make it up. It's almost
- 12:36Speaker 1: like it was like on purpose. Do you remember last
- 12:38Speaker 1: week I asked you guys like these Twitter people like
- 12:41Speaker 1: that they're not necessarily like patriots, you people immedia. No, no, no,
- 12:46Speaker 1: remember there was names and Tanya ray Fox. I think
- 12:50Speaker 1: this one. So you know, I always tell you and
- 12:52Speaker 1: you get and Fred especially makes fun of me. I
- 12:54Speaker 1: wish he was here. I always say, I don't have like,
- 12:57Speaker 1: I don't know how you get these Jackson Mahomes things
- 12:59Speaker 1: in your time line, Like someone always shows them to me,
- 13:03Speaker 1: but they never show up. I finally figured out Tanya
- 13:06Speaker 1: ray Fox. Don't ask me why she's in my time
- 13:09Speaker 1: I don't know who that is, but she's the one
- 13:12Speaker 1: that tweeted that ridiculous Jackson Mahomes in the background. And
- 13:15Speaker 1: I was like, oh, that's how the I get it. Yeah.
- 13:18Speaker 1: It was like, well, no, it still doesn't. It still
- 13:21Speaker 1: doesn't make me rooty gets the chiefs. It's not even
- 13:23Speaker 1: like if Patrick Mahomes was doing stupid stuff like that,
- 13:25Speaker 1: that'd be worth not rooting for him. But it annoys you. No,
- 13:28Speaker 1: he's annoying. I think I got without question, he's annoying.
- 13:31Speaker 1: But you know, it's just like coordinated hand movement. Is
- 13:34Speaker 1: anyone more more? It is anybody more annoying than the
- 13:37Speaker 1: entirety of the Gronkowski family other than Rob Okay, let's
- 13:40Speaker 1: talk about that too. Rob is one of my absolute
- 13:43Speaker 1: favorite players of all time. That commercial all of a
- 13:46Speaker 1: sudden just came in and it's go time, and here
- 13:48Speaker 1: it is, and like it's just lie, Like I had
- 13:50Speaker 1: no idea what's going on? And then I mean I
- 13:52Speaker 1: saw another footage of it, but it looked like it
- 13:53Speaker 1: went through, and I think it's good people. I think
- 13:55Speaker 1: that was the worst officiating call. But then they showed
- 13:57Speaker 1: they showed another angle. I saw Gronk and it was
- 13:59Speaker 1: like it just it got taken by the wind. It went,
- 14:01Speaker 1: it went in front of the upright. So I thought
- 14:04Speaker 1: that was a brilliant marketing campaign that they missed. Like
- 14:09Speaker 1: ultimately it got time to do it and execute it,
- 14:12Speaker 1: and everybody dropped the ball. It was so happened. Didn't
- 14:14Speaker 1: it just look like it was another like it wasn't live.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah it wasn't live, no, but like that, but but
- 14:21Speaker 1: it looked like it wasn't. My point is you have
- 14:24Speaker 1: to at least fake it right, you have all of
- 14:26Speaker 1: these like you all getting like defensive because people were
- 14:32Speaker 1: saying it wasn't live and she was like it was live.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I was like, it wasn't live. Okay, it wasn't live,
- 14:37Speaker 1: Like it's okay, Like I don't care, but let's not
- 14:40Speaker 1: let's not like that. I think that could have been
- 14:43Speaker 1: a really really great thing. Like you know, you're given away,
- 14:47Speaker 1: like betting is becoming more and more mainstream. You're giving
- 14:49Speaker 1: away this great opportunity, but you should play it up
- 14:54Speaker 1: and then have it. Like all of a sudden, they
- 14:57Speaker 1: they switched to it. He kicks it. You can't tell
- 14:59Speaker 1: of he made it or not. You just see the
- 15:01Speaker 1: referee say no. He falls down to you a point
- 15:04Speaker 1: of like it's so it looks so fake, like is
- 15:07Speaker 1: he just like acting right now? I guess did this
- 15:10Speaker 1: happen like three hours ago? Like two days ago? I
- 15:13Speaker 1: did launch it though it was missed it, but then
- 15:17Speaker 1: they just launched all the celebration fireworks. Anyway, They're like,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I didn't get it, but whatever does everybody won? Anyway?
- 15:23Speaker 1: Yeah they did. Yeah, they like it didn't matter that
- 15:25Speaker 1: he missed it in the long run, which is unfortunate
- 15:27Speaker 1: for them. Because I think they could keep doing that
- 15:31Speaker 1: if he made it. Yeah right, Well, but now that
- 15:33Speaker 1: he missed it, everybody knows, well, what's the difference. You're
- 15:35Speaker 1: gonna give it to us anyway. It's like the puppeople.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Uh So we're just about the halftime. So we had
- 15:41Speaker 1: some spirited debate upstairs about Rihanna. Some people upstairs, ever
- 15:45Speaker 1: unhappymale me text me come up. I can't believe you
- 15:51Speaker 1: didn't hear it because I don't sit in the right
- 15:53Speaker 1: come up, and I sit in the cubes with the
- 15:55Speaker 1: more of the social team. I could hear Evan like
- 15:57Speaker 1: loud and clear, tell you when you guys are talking.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Guys unhappy with the playlist, didn't think didn't think she
- 16:04Speaker 1: she hit enough of the hits. I would agree with Chris.
- 16:07Speaker 1: This could be the Chris listening. This could be the
- 16:09Speaker 1: first time in old person hundred years here at the organization. Yeah,
- 16:14Speaker 1: you missed Diamonds and Diamonds was in the Diamonds the
- 16:18Speaker 1: big one that but SOS came out in like two
- 16:22Speaker 1: thousand and eight. Also, when did Umbrella come out? After
- 16:27Speaker 1: nine OS? Was like Rihanna's debut album was like sixteen
- 16:31Speaker 1: years but also, to be honest, I couldn't. I could
- 16:33Speaker 1: have taken some PONDI replay and that's probably your first
- 16:36Speaker 1: That's one of my favorite time. That's maybe the one
- 16:38Speaker 1: that I felt like she missed was Pond to replay.
- 16:40Speaker 1: But like sos, no offense on the pantheon of Rihanna's songs.
- 16:43Speaker 1: It's disturb you pretty disturb you play the hits she did,
- 16:48Speaker 1: she did, she probably couldn't have played. They probably would
- 16:51Speaker 1: have and and did everybody freak out? You thought Kanye
- 16:53Speaker 1: was going to pop out for a second started to
- 16:55Speaker 1: play No no, I know but that but the whole
- 17:00Speaker 1: performer star was commercial earlier in the super Bowl with
- 17:02Speaker 1: the swastika, So I don't know, like they might have
- 17:05Speaker 1: allowed every miss Oh yeah, yeah, which commercial. There was
- 17:09Speaker 1: a It was a commercial for like a TV show
- 17:12Speaker 1: that was like some sort of like murder, you know,
- 17:14Speaker 1: FBI type show, and they like did like a raid
- 17:17Speaker 1: and it was kind of a miss character. I thought were, no,
- 17:23Speaker 1: it's not promote let let's let's not put any of
- 17:27Speaker 1: that in any commercial. Please, thank you all right enough?
- 17:31Speaker 1: Set Yeah, So I don't know, overall, I thought it
- 17:34Speaker 1: was fine. I'm like everyone's like what did you think.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know. Really, I came on saying
- 17:38Speaker 1: some songs that I knew I do I have to
- 17:39Speaker 1: have a hot take on just like listening for ten minutes.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I don't know. You were supposed to say it's the
- 17:43Speaker 1: worst ever halftime show or the best ever halftime show
- 17:47Speaker 1: within thirty second. Halftime show is super polarizing. You either
- 17:51Speaker 1: every year, you either loved it or you hated it,
- 17:54Speaker 1: and there's no in between for people agree. I love
- 17:57Speaker 1: that kind of I was not on it. I was
- 17:58Speaker 1: thought I was really installed. It brought me back to
- 18:01Speaker 1: college and high school and like fun times with my girlfriends,
- 18:04Speaker 1: but also it just lacked like a little something for me.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I was waiting for someone to come out or I
- 18:09Speaker 1: think I know. I think her being pregnant definitely played
- 18:11Speaker 1: a factor. That's the only thing I would say in
- 18:14Speaker 1: retrospect is I wish he had said, you know, can
- 18:17Speaker 1: we I'm honored by this, I want to do it.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Can we do it next year? Because she couldn't perform
- 18:22Speaker 1: right or get someone to come out with you and
- 18:24Speaker 1: like add some luster to it. Well, so when she
- 18:27Speaker 1: did all the lights, I was like, all right, they're
- 18:29Speaker 1: not going to bring out Kanye because it's Kanye. But
- 18:31Speaker 1: then she did Run This Town and I was like,
- 18:33Speaker 1: there's like ten people you can jay Z was there
- 18:36Speaker 1: at the super Bowl because they showed him a pre
- 18:38Speaker 1: game and then I was like, all right, well, why
- 18:40Speaker 1: don't you just have jay Z come in and do
- 18:41Speaker 1: a verse from Run this Town and then go into
- 18:44Speaker 1: your next song. They she didn't do. That was where
- 18:46Speaker 1: I thought that she had one the opportunity. He was
- 18:49Speaker 1: in the building, like he's a big football guy, and
- 18:51Speaker 1: I would have been straight to all the everybody thought
- 18:55Speaker 1: have been great. I would have taken Monster. But eminem
- 18:58Speaker 1: was there last year. I would have again. Chris Stapleton
- 19:01Speaker 1: just sticking around for halftime. That was pretty cool. That
- 19:04Speaker 1: was pretty cool. Yeah. Then that's like something I can
- 19:06Speaker 1: get behind where it's just simple and it's just you know,
- 19:08Speaker 1: it's not drawn out and overproduced. It's just a guy
- 19:11Speaker 1: on a guitar. It's amazing, you know, he's so amazing.
- 19:14Speaker 1: It was. It was fine. I didn't see said fine
- 19:16Speaker 1: you must not like not you're not a country I'm
- 19:18Speaker 1: not a country guy first of all, or just you're
- 19:20Speaker 1: not a music I'm also not an anthem. Guy, like
- 19:24Speaker 1: everybody going that's over the anthem. It's like it's the anthem,
- 19:26Speaker 1: like I'm sorry, you know. To me, there's the anthem
- 19:29Speaker 1: and then someone who's butchering right, as long as the
- 19:32Speaker 1: anthem goes off without it being an absolute train wreck,
- 19:35Speaker 1: Like to me, it's an anthem. It's like Carl Lewis
- 19:37Speaker 1: Rosanne bar like that stands out to me. But like
- 19:42Speaker 1: Carl Lewis, Whitney, Houston Stapleton, right, well, Whitney was the
- 19:46Speaker 1: best ever. But I honestly think Chris Stapleton's performance was
- 19:49Speaker 1: like everybody was. Everybody thought it was amazing. So yeah,
- 19:53Speaker 1: and I can't say it wasn't because, like I said,
- 19:55Speaker 1: I didn't see it. It was on. I just didn't.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I was it was probably feeding my fat face. So
- 20:01Speaker 1: we get into the second half, and I was thinking
- 20:03Speaker 1: going into it all the times I've heard Patriots players
- 20:06Speaker 1: everybody just say the second half of the Super Bowl
- 20:08Speaker 1: it's like a whole new game. And that's what I
- 20:11Speaker 1: like going into it. I didn't really see coming what
- 20:14Speaker 1: was going to happen, but I just from the get
- 20:16Speaker 1: go it just felt like the Chiefs had kind of
- 20:18Speaker 1: flipped the switch and they were ready to go. You know,
- 20:21Speaker 1: I was very surprised that both offenses were as dominant
- 20:23Speaker 1: as they were, Like I thought the defenses would at
- 20:26Speaker 1: least pose a little bit of you know, like we've
- 20:29Speaker 1: talked about with the past, seventy sacks couldn't get seventy
- 20:33Speaker 1: They didn't really didn't even have pressure, let alone say
- 20:36Speaker 1: I think it was only five percent of Mahomes's dropbacks
- 20:39Speaker 1: for first downs forty eight. I mean, that's incredible. He
- 20:43Speaker 1: scored thirty eight points on eight drives because they barely
- 20:45Speaker 1: possessed the ball. And that's I had a talk with
- 20:48Speaker 1: with no Socks about that. And it's like, you know,
- 20:49Speaker 1: you would have thought Philly would have had such a
- 20:51Speaker 1: bigger lead with the time of possession. I was like,
- 20:53Speaker 1: but Kansas City just kept scoring so fast. And I
- 20:56Speaker 1: know they had the defensive score and then the punt return,
- 21:00Speaker 1: but all their other drives were touchdowns too, Like they
- 21:03Speaker 1: only punted twice. Both teams punted twice. That's crazy. I
- 21:07Speaker 1: feel like the turf was responsible for more like near sacks.
- 21:09Speaker 1: That's where I'm an. Honestly, I hate to make it
- 21:12Speaker 1: like that, Like I hate to say things like that.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Included a little paragraph about the turf and my recamp.
- 21:18Speaker 1: It was a part of the game. Hassan Reddick and
- 21:20Speaker 1: Josh Sweat were like two of the best bookend rushers
- 21:22Speaker 1: in the league all year long, and you just watched
- 21:24Speaker 1: them slipping all over the place trying to turn the corner.
- 21:27Speaker 1: And as a blocker, I mean, all you're doing is
- 21:29Speaker 1: getting to right and then you know, these guys are
- 21:32Speaker 1: trying to turn that tight corner and if you can't
- 21:34Speaker 1: take your feet in and bend, then it's sweats fixed.
- 21:37Speaker 1: That's the NFL. They wanted it that way. They didn't
- 21:39Speaker 1: want phill well. I mean you have to say on
- 21:41Speaker 1: that particular issue, they were guys just going down like
- 21:43Speaker 1: bowling pins all night. Oh yeah, you know, like sky
- 21:46Speaker 1: Moore had like a little jet sweep. They just fell
- 21:48Speaker 1: You know, he was going to come around the corner.
- 21:50Speaker 1: I don't think it was going to go for a
- 21:51Speaker 1: huge game, but he just fell down. I'm telling you guys.
- 21:53Speaker 1: When I saw the montage video, I thought, I was like, no,
- 21:55Speaker 1: this is clips from other times they played each other,
- 21:57Speaker 1: Like has to be right. No, But I do think
- 21:59Speaker 1: it impacts did the Eagles pass rush immensely I think
- 22:02Speaker 1: he's had an impact on the game. Chris Jones didn't really,
- 22:05Speaker 1: I mean, did he do. I'm trying to I don't
- 22:07Speaker 1: remember him standing. Why don't you go back and check
- 22:09Speaker 1: the rushing stats for the Eagles and then tell me
- 22:11Speaker 1: what Chris Jones did? Ye not to go out Evan
- 22:13Speaker 1: on you. Yeah, yeah, but all right, I'll have to
- 22:15Speaker 1: get back you on that one though. That was another
- 22:17Speaker 1: surprise to me that the Chiefs just completely I mean
- 22:21Speaker 1: Boston Scott, I mean miss Andrews, guys nothing. So I
- 22:23Speaker 1: had a guy had Kenneth Gainwell for the first touchdown
- 22:27Speaker 1: for like some some ridiculous odds. I don't even know
- 22:31Speaker 1: what they were. Yeah, but they you know, like that's
- 22:33Speaker 1: an obscure guy first touchdown and he gets it called
- 22:36Speaker 1: you know, not called back but respotted after a review
- 22:39Speaker 1: and you knew they weren't going to give it to
- 22:41Speaker 1: him on the next play. Yeah, and so uh and
- 22:44Speaker 1: then they couldn't run at all. They I think they
- 22:46Speaker 1: had seventeen runs for like forty six yards without Hurts, right, Yes,
- 22:51Speaker 1: I was gonna say Hurts was really the only run factor.
- 22:54Speaker 1: And really that was one big run. Yeah, how about
- 22:56Speaker 1: those QB sneaks too. That's gonna be out loud, right,
- 22:59Speaker 1: I mean the way they I actually do you feel
- 23:01Speaker 1: about it? I actually kind of like it, Like I
- 23:03Speaker 1: think it's cool, Like it's like almost like a rugby play,
- 23:06Speaker 1: you know. But at the same time, I don't think
- 23:08Speaker 1: that that's the spirit of the play. Like, I don't
- 23:10Speaker 1: think that that's how since my boy Felger talk about
- 23:13Speaker 1: that yesterday, he used almost the same words that Evan
- 23:15Speaker 1: just did. He's like, they need to outlawge. It's it's
- 23:17Speaker 1: not football, it's rugby. And you know, Andrew Callahan was
- 23:21Speaker 1: on that show last night, and I don't think he
- 23:23Speaker 1: could understand, like he goes. You know, Tom Brady was like,
- 23:27Speaker 1: was money on quarterback sneaks? He ran it really effectively,
- 23:29Speaker 1: and Mike just kept saying, but they just ran a
- 23:31Speaker 1: traditional quarter I'm not saying outlawed the quarterback sneak. The
- 23:34Speaker 1: quarterback can take the snap and run up the million.
- 23:37Speaker 1: You should be able to have guys pushing from you know,
- 23:39Speaker 1: from behind like they used to be. There used to
- 23:43Speaker 1: be rules about aiding and a betting you know, the
- 23:46Speaker 1: crime right the ball carrier, and now let's just seems
- 23:49Speaker 1: like you could do anything that they had a prere
- 23:51Speaker 1: on Felger and Mas last week he talked he was
- 23:54Speaker 1: talking about from a player safety perspective, because they outlawed
- 23:57Speaker 1: pushing from h you know, the second level kicks, right,
- 24:00Speaker 1: you can't push on a on a field goal or
- 24:03Speaker 1: an extra point. But I just feel like, first of all,
- 24:07Speaker 1: they don't like any play that's that automatic. Like if
- 24:10Speaker 1: you're third and one and you're the Eagles are getting
- 24:13Speaker 1: it ninety's that's too much for the NFL. That's why
- 24:17Speaker 1: they pushed back the extra point, right, It's too much
- 24:19Speaker 1: of an automatic play. So I think they'll do something
- 24:22Speaker 1: about it. But I like the idea of of you know,
- 24:27Speaker 1: how the Eagles got to scheming up sneaks like that,
- 24:30Speaker 1: And I think in general the sneak, to me is
- 24:33Speaker 1: one of the most underutilized plays in football because on
- 24:37Speaker 1: third and one, how many times do we see teams
- 24:39Speaker 1: spread out the field and try to throw for it
- 24:42Speaker 1: or they try to run it in a kind of
- 24:44Speaker 1: like a goal line package when you need you need
- 24:47Speaker 1: two and a half feet, I mean, just just push
- 24:49Speaker 1: the pile, right. I think that teams should be sneaking
- 24:53Speaker 1: a whole lot more. And I think the Eagles have
- 24:54Speaker 1: put a lot of thought into it, which I give
- 24:56Speaker 1: them credit for for practicing it like that. That is true.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Even I wouldn't be upset if they outlawed it. I
- 25:03Speaker 1: do give the Eagles credit for their creativity. You know,
- 25:06Speaker 1: no one else did it that way. Yeah, yeah, you know,
- 25:08Speaker 1: like the bush push happened how long ago? Yeah, two
- 25:11Speaker 1: thousand and six, two thousand and five, you know, and
- 25:15Speaker 1: they took it to another level and have two guys
- 25:18Speaker 1: right directly behind the quarterback and here we go. So
- 25:22Speaker 1: the last call, the holding call. Um, I it's just
- 25:28Speaker 1: exactly the way I felt two weeks ago when the
- 25:30Speaker 1: Cincinnati won. Yeah it was a penalty. Yeah, I wish
- 25:33Speaker 1: they kept the flag in that point too, I know it,
- 25:35Speaker 1: but he definitely held them. You just didn't get a
- 25:37Speaker 1: chance to see. Everybody wanted to see that big ending,
- 25:40Speaker 1: you know, to get that last stop. And yeah, that
- 25:42Speaker 1: was just being selfish. I wanted the game to keep going.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I said, up, there's any time there's a game where
- 25:46Speaker 1: you're trying not to score at the end of the game.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I don't like it. I just don't like the situation.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I don't like how like it don't care for it
- 25:52Speaker 1: if you're if you're going down at the one yard
- 25:53Speaker 1: line purposely trying not to score. I don't like where
- 25:55Speaker 1: it's going. But um, it's just like I had such
- 25:59Speaker 1: a designation when that happened, it was like and there
- 26:02Speaker 1: it is, like, you know, the crappy call, and that's
- 26:04Speaker 1: how it's gonna end. Just like that again, d for
- 26:07Speaker 1: it all over again, you know one. Uh but he
- 26:11Speaker 1: was just when correct? Yeah, and it was holding. Yeah,
- 26:18Speaker 1: Like I wish they didn't call it. I couldn't wish more.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I think what was based about this one was that
- 26:24Speaker 1: it ended the game because it Choos were able to
- 26:26Speaker 1: just kneel out the talk and kick the field goal.
- 26:29Speaker 1: It that that, to me is even worse because Kansas
- 26:33Speaker 1: City literally did basically didn't have to do anything else
- 26:35Speaker 1: to win the game at that point other than kick
- 26:37Speaker 1: the field goal and not screw up I guess on
- 26:39Speaker 1: a kneel down, which never happens anyway. So I think
- 26:42Speaker 1: if that was the part that was the biggest bummer.
- 26:44Speaker 1: But I also think that we should recognize there was
- 26:47Speaker 1: a minute and fifty eight seconds left and they made
- 26:49Speaker 1: the holding call. So if kan City kicks the field goal,
- 26:51Speaker 1: there like they still have to score, right, like, like
- 26:54Speaker 1: Philly still has to go. And what I wanted, I
- 26:56Speaker 1: wanted the drama. You know, Ken Hurts do it again.
- 26:59Speaker 1: He's been I mean he had one mistake the whole
- 27:01Speaker 1: which was a big mistake, but other than that, he
- 27:04Speaker 1: was unbelievably good in the game. Did you see him
- 27:06Speaker 1: you do it again? That would have been awesome the watch.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Did you see a continuation two of a lot of
- 27:09Speaker 1: like early false I don't want to say false starts
- 27:12Speaker 1: because they weren't really called. But again, like I just
- 27:15Speaker 1: John every play, it just seemed like guys were popping
- 27:17Speaker 1: off snap get online. Twitter started on the Lane Johnson thing,
- 27:21Speaker 1: that's what you're supposed to do. I did it all
- 27:24Speaker 1: year and he didn't get They call it impeccable timing.
- 27:27Speaker 1: They think Lane Johnson just said that, Yeah, at one
- 27:30Speaker 1: point he's just absolutely in sync with Jason Kelsey and
- 27:33Speaker 1: it's just impeccable. I even thought one of the one
- 27:36Speaker 1: one of the ones on the goal line, because I
- 27:38Speaker 1: think the Chiefs got called three times for being offside,
- 27:41Speaker 1: and one of the ones on the goal line, the
- 27:43Speaker 1: guy in the middle, I think it was ninety one
- 27:45Speaker 1: moved into the neutral zone, had gotten back, and then
- 27:48Speaker 1: the Eagles reacted and they called offside. I think it
- 27:52Speaker 1: should have been a neutral zone in fraction they did,
- 27:54Speaker 1: I mean the false start because they didn't react fast
- 27:57Speaker 1: them Like you know, Bill says, make content when that
- 27:59Speaker 1: guy you make contact with him immediately you get the flag.
- 28:02Speaker 1: But they gave it to him anyway. Yep. Well, head
- 28:06Speaker 1: over to the phones. Give us a call here, five
- 28:08Speaker 1: five pats, five hundreds, shoot us in. I don't really
- 28:11Speaker 1: want to talk about the replays, either web mail or
- 28:13Speaker 1: sorry web radio ast was how is that? Like he
- 28:18Speaker 1: really had? We really need to I think the other one,
- 28:21Speaker 1: I think I think they might have gotten them backwards. Yeah,
- 28:24Speaker 1: that was close. I never saw the full one I
- 28:26Speaker 1: wanted with the back foot on the sideline with Goddard
- 28:29Speaker 1: that one like I think it was, but I never
- 28:32Speaker 1: got the actual shot where it felt in my league.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Both of them are catches five years ago. They're both
- 28:36Speaker 1: catches DeVante Smith play. He catches the ball, takes two
- 28:41Speaker 1: steps in bounds and then goes to the ground. And
- 28:44Speaker 1: the way that they had they had changed the rule
- 28:47Speaker 1: to the point where I think it's three steps and
- 28:50Speaker 1: then you're no longer you no longer need to complete
- 28:54Speaker 1: the process. So the fact that he only got two
- 28:56Speaker 1: feet down and then went to the ground, but he's
- 28:58Speaker 1: an upright player when he catches to me, it's two
- 29:02Speaker 1: feet Okay. If he's like toe tapping two feet down
- 29:04Speaker 1: and then her right, I still think it's wrong. But
- 29:07Speaker 1: you could make an argument this is two running strikes. Right,
- 29:10Speaker 1: he's a runner there, right, He's like if he's in
- 29:12Speaker 1: the field of play, that should have been a fumble.
- 29:13Speaker 1: So that's they hadn't hit the ground. That's the terminology.
- 29:16Speaker 1: The official is an upright player. So if you get
- 29:18Speaker 1: three feet in bounds, you're you now become an upright player,
- 29:22Speaker 1: and then you don't have to complete the process. So
- 29:25Speaker 1: he only got two so he wasn't deemed that yet.
- 29:27Speaker 1: But I thought it was interesting that Pereira, you know,
- 29:30Speaker 1: because on that same interview with kind of didn't didn't
- 29:34Speaker 1: go down that road. He sort of talked about it
- 29:37Speaker 1: is easier now, like I think they've agree with it
- 29:39Speaker 1: with Alex just said, I think they've somehow tweaked this
- 29:43Speaker 1: now to make it even more sort of convoluted. I
- 29:48Speaker 1: just don't understand how Devanta Smith catches the football, takes
- 29:52Speaker 1: two full strides in bounds, and then goes to the
- 29:56Speaker 1: ground as he crashes into the sideline and he still
- 29:58Speaker 1: has to hold like a at some point that process
- 30:01Speaker 1: is completed. That's my feeling, and I just think that
- 30:05Speaker 1: we we slow it down too to you know, every
- 30:08Speaker 1: single frame by frame, and it's like, of course the
- 30:12Speaker 1: ball moves and of course you know little it's It's
- 30:16Speaker 1: just that's not what this is. The one thing I
- 30:19Speaker 1: agree with felgeron like that's not what review was meant for.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Like that was not why they initiated reviews, and all
- 30:25Speaker 1: these reviews were meant because if an egregious call was
- 30:29Speaker 1: called the wrong way that we can fix it. This
- 30:31Speaker 1: is this is like kind of break down every play
- 30:34Speaker 1: into its minutia to find a potential penalty or reason
- 30:37Speaker 1: we can write it done. The thing like I was,
- 30:38Speaker 1: so I was watching a lot of guys had first
- 30:41Speaker 1: that I was watching with like everyone bet on Philly,
- 30:43Speaker 1: and then the rest of it was like their girlfriends
- 30:45Speaker 1: and I was probably the only girl that's really into
- 30:47Speaker 1: football there. And I was asked by one of my
- 30:49Speaker 1: friends to explain why that wasn't a catch and I,
- 30:54Speaker 1: what do you even say? I don't know. This is crazy.
- 30:57Speaker 1: That's that's my thing too, is if I my mother
- 30:59Speaker 1: know nothing about football, lover love you, mom, there's nothing
- 31:02Speaker 1: about football. But if I can explain the rule to
- 31:05Speaker 1: her when we're watching the super Bowl, which is probably
- 31:08Speaker 1: the one game a year she might watch, then like,
- 31:10Speaker 1: I feel like that, and they've done a good job
- 31:12Speaker 1: with the rule. But if I have to sit there
- 31:14Speaker 1: and be like, honestly, I don't know, and how many
- 31:16Speaker 1: times have you done that this year? Because I looked
- 31:19Speaker 1: at those two plays and I said, on the first one,
- 31:23Speaker 1: I think it's a catch. It would be a catch
- 31:25Speaker 1: if I was making the ruling, but I think that
- 31:27Speaker 1: they're gonna call it incomplete. On the second one, I said,
- 31:31Speaker 1: I think it's a catch. I would call it a catch,
- 31:33Speaker 1: but I think they're going to call it incomplete. And
- 31:35Speaker 1: they called him too totally different ways. Yeah, I knew
- 31:38Speaker 1: from the get that Davante Smith was going to be
- 31:40Speaker 1: a no catch. Yeah, me too, I knew it. I
- 31:42Speaker 1: thought they would call with no catch. Yeah. I thought
- 31:45Speaker 1: they were trying to hurt him too, Like it seemed
- 31:46Speaker 1: like they were trying to really get physical with him.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Especially like after the play, like it just seemed like
- 31:52Speaker 1: I should think of falling on the Eagles linebacker tackle
- 31:55Speaker 1: on Mahomes when he got hurt. I wanted to see that.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I was looking for that. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, it
- 32:02Speaker 1: was an extra Rose John said, no, I agree, that's
- 32:07Speaker 1: what you should do. I think. I mean, I thought
- 32:09Speaker 1: that was it. I really thought that was it. I
- 32:11Speaker 1: was so I was like, I'm not even watch well.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I knew he was gonna play chat. I just didn't
- 32:14Speaker 1: know can he can He played? But like, and I've
- 32:17Speaker 1: heard the Patriots talk about this with the the extended
- 32:20Speaker 1: halftime at the Super Bowl allows you to do. I
- 32:22Speaker 1: think they talked about it with Gronk some training stuff.
- 32:26Speaker 1: I wish they would let it, like we could have
- 32:28Speaker 1: just like a panel with the team doctors, like what
- 32:30Speaker 1: did you shoot him up with? Total It's a bad ideas,
- 32:33Speaker 1: a very bad idea. It would never happened, but just
- 32:35Speaker 1: out of my own curiosity. Yeah, after the game, he
- 32:38Speaker 1: insisted that he didn't he didn't have anything, no, no
- 32:41Speaker 1: pain killers. And half time I was like, Okay, they
- 32:43Speaker 1: had time to get Jackson. That might be his first dance,
- 32:46Speaker 1: that might be his first public misstep there, right, because
- 32:49Speaker 1: that's that's really hard to believe. All right, let's let's
- 32:52Speaker 1: jump over to the phone real quick. Before you go
- 32:54Speaker 1: to the phone, hold on, Patty, were coming just a
- 32:56Speaker 1: real short one. Came away really really impressed with Philadelphia.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I mean the way they played the game, but their
- 33:03Speaker 1: postgame reaction was Bradberry over the time. Bradberry was ridiculously good, like,
- 33:10Speaker 1: but the whole organization, Like he didn't hear a thing. Yeah,
- 33:15Speaker 1: I mean, just took it like a champion. I mean,
- 33:17Speaker 1: I know some people think Cincinnati is the model of
- 33:19Speaker 1: franchise in the league. I mean, just compare and contrast
- 33:22Speaker 1: Cincinnati's postgame behavior to that. Yeah. Yeah, Like, I was
- 33:26Speaker 1: really impressed with Philadelphia. I mean, I know what they're
- 33:28Speaker 1: thinking in their minds. They're thinking they got screwed. But
- 33:31Speaker 1: Sirianni must have put the hammer down post game and said,
- 33:35Speaker 1: we're not talking about the referees calls. That's not why
- 33:37Speaker 1: we lost. Hey, Patty, what's going on? You're on? Hey?
- 33:41Speaker 1: What's up everyone? No amazing As I've been watching the
- 33:45Speaker 1: NFL for almost forty years, and this year I don't
- 33:48Speaker 1: know what the hell it catches. Really, I mean like
- 33:50Speaker 1: you said, Paul, we've we've seen it like maybe four
- 33:53Speaker 1: or five times, and I just I don't know anymore.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Um yeah, And I'm with you guys too, like I
- 33:59Speaker 1: would have liked to see just get one more chance
- 34:02Speaker 1: and just see what, you know, see what would have
- 34:04Speaker 1: happened for kick a field goal to tie, had turned
- 34:07Speaker 1: the ball over or possibly like leaves too much, like
- 34:10Speaker 1: maybe twenty five forty seconds on the clock, for Pat
- 34:13Speaker 1: Mahomes to go down and score again. Um. But one thing,
- 34:18Speaker 1: I mean one thing that I got from this game,
- 34:20Speaker 1: and you guys touched on it too, is I was
- 34:22Speaker 1: amazed to see what Pat Mahomes did this year and
- 34:25Speaker 1: how he kind of took his game to a new
- 34:27Speaker 1: level without Tyreek Hill. And I mean that's I think
- 34:31Speaker 1: the thing that separates him from all the great young
- 34:34Speaker 1: disease that are in the league right now, that Jalen Hurt,
- 34:36Speaker 1: the Josh Allen, the Joe Burrows is I'm at this point,
- 34:40Speaker 1: I'm already considering him an all time great, you know,
- 34:43Speaker 1: and he's only been playing starting for five years. And
- 34:47Speaker 1: that's that's really all I got. That's my take on
- 34:50Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, And hopefully we can talk to him
- 34:53Speaker 1: Drafts Day, guys later, Thanks Patty. Yeah, he's trying to
- 34:58Speaker 1: you know, I'd argue with any of that moments. Is
- 35:00Speaker 1: just like I'm trying to, like and I totally agree
- 35:02Speaker 1: with everything Patty said about you know, he's he's just
- 35:05Speaker 1: he's clearly going to be one of the all time greats.
- 35:06Speaker 1: But it's like it's so hard to really pin him
- 35:08Speaker 1: down as to what he is like. And I just
- 35:10Speaker 1: I just feel like he's so hard, he's wiley, like
- 35:13Speaker 1: he just he makes things happen. When plays break down,
- 35:17Speaker 1: it's just he can do it out of the pocket.
- 35:18Speaker 1: If it's not there, he he'll run with his feet.
- 35:21Speaker 1: He can get the ball out late. He and the
- 35:23Speaker 1: off platform stuff. I you know, I like, I think
- 35:25Speaker 1: that gets overblown, but he can do it. And in
- 35:27Speaker 1: the critical moments too, and the third downs. It's you know,
- 35:30Speaker 1: you just can't put him in a conventional kind of
- 35:32Speaker 1: box of like pocket passer or even like a mobile
- 35:35Speaker 1: Michael Vick. You know though, He's his own kind of thing,
- 35:37Speaker 1: and it's just he's just so hard. I feel like
- 35:39Speaker 1: every time you watch him play, you're just like on
- 35:41Speaker 1: the edge of your seat, like get him and you
- 35:43Speaker 1: can never get him because too. I mean, he will
- 35:45Speaker 1: make some reckless throws, like you know they all do.
- 35:48Speaker 1: But I think he also has a good idea of
- 35:51Speaker 1: where he's what he's trying to do, you know, like
- 35:54Speaker 1: it's not just running around making plays schoolyard all the time.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I think he has a good plan. I thought he played.
- 36:00Speaker 1: I mean maybe part of it was because he knew
- 36:01Speaker 1: he wasn't gonna be able to run around. I thought
- 36:03Speaker 1: he played really run though, like even some of those
- 36:06Speaker 1: runs were but you know, he ran when he had to.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Like that long run to me looked like every step
- 36:11Speaker 1: he was taking with little steps to give it look especially,
- 36:17Speaker 1: so you know, it was funny to watch. I just
- 36:19Speaker 1: think in this in this era, I can't speak to
- 36:23Speaker 1: older eras unfortunately, but in this era, I don't know
- 36:25Speaker 1: if there's another quarterback that does as many things that
- 36:29Speaker 1: as Mahomes does. Like he checks every single boss. He
- 36:33Speaker 1: can play instructure, he can play out of structure, you
- 36:36Speaker 1: can run quick game concepts, he can run vertical concepts.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Can you can run every single thing at every single
- 36:43Speaker 1: level of the defense. And he can hit every single
- 36:45Speaker 1: throw and I don't know, you know, other guys you know,
- 36:47Speaker 1: Brady's obviously great at what he does, or you know,
- 36:50Speaker 1: other guys are great at what they do. Alan's great
- 36:53Speaker 1: out of the structure of the play. But I don't
- 36:55Speaker 1: know if anybody is as good at all of the
- 36:57Speaker 1: things that you can do, um, Mike, Patrick Mahomes is.
- 37:00Speaker 1: And I think that that's why as much as a
- 37:02Speaker 1: Deerk's Patriots fans, I think that's why people look at
- 37:04Speaker 1: him as in the conversation potentially down the road, as
- 37:08Speaker 1: the greatest ever is because he can truly do it
- 37:11Speaker 1: all on a football field, and there's not very many
- 37:14Speaker 1: guys that could do that at that level, you know.
- 37:17Speaker 1: So maybe some other guys can run occasionally or scramble
- 37:21Speaker 1: or extend plays occasionally, but he does it at an
- 37:23Speaker 1: elite level. I just it's hard to find another guy
- 37:26Speaker 1: that's as as polished in every area like Patrick mahomes is.
- 37:30Speaker 1: And that's I mean, it's just every time you play him,
- 37:32Speaker 1: it's it's frustrating because he's able to get so much done. Uh,
- 37:36Speaker 1: let's go back out to my old my old town up. Jerry. Hello, Hello, Jerry,
- 37:41Speaker 1: what's going on right? How's it going? Good morning, everybody,
- 37:45Speaker 1: Good morning, Good afternoon wherever you may be going. UM.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I wanted to UM, I wanted to ask with the
- 37:56Speaker 1: build the one that I wanted mac Jones to stay
- 37:59Speaker 1: on the silent he he wanted to be like more
- 38:03Speaker 1: or was the mac Jones I wanted to to take
- 38:06Speaker 1: the longer the courts before coming back. I'm not I'm
- 38:10Speaker 1: not sure you broke up a little bit there. Mac
- 38:12Speaker 1: Jones want to come back earlier than he did? Or
- 38:15Speaker 1: did the Patriots make him stay out? Is that the question?
- 38:18Speaker 1: Because yeah, because when you guys were talking about you
- 38:22Speaker 1: making the calling the plays and stuff like that, and
- 38:25Speaker 1: he knew how the offensive wasn't going to be asked
- 38:26Speaker 1: good Maybe he wanted mac Jones to be more out
- 38:31Speaker 1: of the season so that way she would she wouldn't
- 38:33Speaker 1: blame his quarterback. He wouldn't have in the situation he
- 38:36Speaker 1: hasn't been right now. Yeah, I mean, I don't know
- 38:38Speaker 1: the definitive answer. My my answer would be, my feeling
- 38:42Speaker 1: would be I think they both wanted to be back
- 38:43Speaker 1: as soon as he possibly could be back. I think
- 38:47Speaker 1: Bill wanted mac Jones back on the field as fast
- 38:49Speaker 1: as he could. And I think it's pretty obvious Mac
- 38:52Speaker 1: wanted to be back as fast as he could. Now,
- 38:55Speaker 1: we could all argue that the Chicago game was not
- 38:57Speaker 1: handled well, both maybe having him start in the first
- 39:01Speaker 1: place and then how we handled taking him out and
- 39:05Speaker 1: all that, but I think that they wanted both sides.
- 39:07Speaker 1: I think we're in agreement. We want this guy back
- 39:09Speaker 1: as fast as we can, don't you think? Yeah, he
- 39:12Speaker 1: said something. Belichick said something later in the season. Forget
- 39:16Speaker 1: which game it was where they they didn't play out
- 39:19Speaker 1: the string fully. They are down by two touchdowns and
- 39:22Speaker 1: they they didn't didn't go for it in the end.
- 39:25Speaker 1: I think it was that Buffalo game, the one here
- 39:27Speaker 1: um where they didn't really go for it in the
- 39:29Speaker 1: fourth quarter to make the comeback, and he said that
- 39:32Speaker 1: he didn't. You know, last time we tried to do that,
- 39:34Speaker 1: we got Mac hurt. Yeah, And that told me that
- 39:37Speaker 1: he views Mack as still the starter, even though you
- 39:41Speaker 1: wouldn't say it right, like, yeah, I kind of took
- 39:43Speaker 1: a backdoor angle to saying it, But I think that
- 39:46Speaker 1: that in that instance, I was like, Okay, well, he
- 39:49Speaker 1: clearly looks at Mac a little bit differently than he
- 39:53Speaker 1: looks at Bailey's appy, right, He's if he really thought
- 39:55Speaker 1: Bailey's appy was max equal, then there wouldn't be a
- 39:58Speaker 1: problem of oh Mac get we just have you know
- 40:00Speaker 1: what I mean? So I think that that's that was
- 40:03Speaker 1: the moment where I realized that maybe some of the
- 40:05Speaker 1: chatter of the disagreements over the injury and how it
- 40:09Speaker 1: was handled outside of the Chicago game and all that,
- 40:12Speaker 1: but just in terms of how it was handled behind
- 40:14Speaker 1: the scenes, I kind of was like, all right, and
- 40:16Speaker 1: maybe that was a little bit overblowed. I do have
- 40:18Speaker 1: a little bit of a different view now on like
- 40:20Speaker 1: what was that like when Mac went out with all
- 40:22Speaker 1: the stuff that came out about the struggles on offense,
- 40:25Speaker 1: the friction, the you know, just inability to get things
- 40:28Speaker 1: ever really rolling? You know, what was I just wonder
- 40:31Speaker 1: and we will never know, but what was it like
- 40:33Speaker 1: behind the scenes when Mac was hurt? Like a lot
- 40:35Speaker 1: of times you say, oh, guys heard he's gonna like
- 40:36Speaker 1: help people, but like, you know, was that the time
- 40:38Speaker 1: he was kind of reaching out because he had a
- 40:40Speaker 1: chance to like step back and see, man, this this
- 40:43Speaker 1: really is. I don't I don't know, but it's just
- 40:45Speaker 1: an interesting little little period here in last season. But
- 40:49Speaker 1: I'd want to bring this up to Colts have finally
- 40:52Speaker 1: picked a new head coach. I'm probably shame Stiken, who
- 40:56Speaker 1: was the Eagles offensive coordinator, so and play car and
- 40:59Speaker 1: play call. So Sirianni was at the Colts and then
- 41:02Speaker 1: he went and Frank. They had Frank Rank before this,
- 41:05Speaker 1: So they're they're in that that Doug Peterson or whatever
- 41:08Speaker 1: coaching tree you want to give credit, that's that's their tree.
- 41:11Speaker 1: And so they're gonna probably I mean, this does a
- 41:14Speaker 1: signal they're gonna go for a quarterback or try to
- 41:16Speaker 1: try to finally make a move. He was with the
- 41:18Speaker 1: Chargers too. I think maybe when didn't Rich wasn't right
- 41:23Speaker 1: with the Charges for a while. Yeah, maybe he was
- 41:24Speaker 1: the maybe they assistant, maybe they didn't app I don't know,
- 41:28Speaker 1: kind of staying in the same family, which I think
- 41:29Speaker 1: is kind of interesting. It's like, you had Frank Rank, right,
- 41:33Speaker 1: you know, we've got Frank Brek's protege now. Uh, but
- 41:37Speaker 1: it's not Jeff Saturday. So he posts Twitter. Twitter can
- 41:41Speaker 1: stand down. He posted on Twitter like a little you know,
- 41:44Speaker 1: selfie video of him being Cults Nation. It was okay, Yeah,
- 41:49Speaker 1: had a great time. I do wonder though, if this,
- 41:52Speaker 1: if this is uh you know, if they're if they're
- 41:54Speaker 1: gonna make an aggressive move for a quarterback in the draft,
- 41:57Speaker 1: and you know, if you get into that stuff a
- 41:58Speaker 1: little bit, Yeah, I think that's something probably. You know,
- 42:00Speaker 1: we get talked about the super Bowl today, but there
- 42:03Speaker 1: is musical chairs again that you know, between Rogers and
- 42:06Speaker 1: car and Garoppolo and whoever else is today With Derek
- 42:09Speaker 1: Carr when he's gonna supposedly he's gonna get released today.
- 42:12Speaker 1: I mean, I'd have to look at the details of
- 42:15Speaker 1: that more. But if I were the Raiders, I like
- 42:18Speaker 1: I wouldn't be happy the way he's been sort of
- 42:21Speaker 1: handling himself since the decision to bench him, I would
- 42:25Speaker 1: I would look into doing something too. What do you mean,
- 42:27Speaker 1: like poo poo in the Saints trade like that, because
- 42:29Speaker 1: it's not going to be a Saint trade. Yeah, he
- 42:31Speaker 1: has no trade class even he wants to get released,
- 42:35Speaker 1: so the team that he goes to doesn't get anything
- 42:37Speaker 1: from them. You know. I also think it's because of
- 42:39Speaker 1: guarantee the money in his contract. So if he's a
- 42:42Speaker 1: free agent, he's now gonna get that guarantee up front today.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I think if he's on, if he remains on the
- 42:48Speaker 1: roster today, I believe, Yeah, the Raiders would have to
- 42:52Speaker 1: pay him because I don't think they had any fear
- 42:57Speaker 1: that he was to not be their quarterback. Yeah, I
- 42:59Speaker 1: think that there's The Raiders are in a weird spot too,
- 43:01Speaker 1: because they don't do they have a first round pick.
- 43:04Speaker 1: I I don't remember if they traded which they traded
- 43:08Speaker 1: to pick for Davante Adams. I don't know which, if
- 43:11Speaker 1: it was last year, this year. But they're not in
- 43:14Speaker 1: a position. They don't pick in the top ten. I
- 43:16Speaker 1: know that, Like, they're not in a position to get
- 43:18Speaker 1: any of the of the quarterbacks at the top of
- 43:20Speaker 1: the draft. So I wonder where they're going to go
- 43:23Speaker 1: at that position for sure? What is Josh gonna do?
- 43:25Speaker 1: Jimmy Jimmy, Yeah, I can see Jimmy go back with Josh.
- 43:29Speaker 1: He has at least an understanding of the system, probably
- 43:32Speaker 1: plug and play. It's really tough though, is you think
- 43:34Speaker 1: Josh went there thinking I got a guy. You know,
- 43:37Speaker 1: I have a guy in play. I'm going to give
- 43:38Speaker 1: him a contract and this and this part of the
- 43:40Speaker 1: equation which is so important to me being successful here
- 43:43Speaker 1: in my second stint as a head coach, and just
- 43:46Speaker 1: like that like and as bad as they were this year?
- 43:48Speaker 1: Do you put all that on Car? Was that he
- 43:50Speaker 1: didn't play well? And I and I like Car more
- 43:53Speaker 1: than most, but he didn't. He didn't, was he? But
- 43:55Speaker 1: were you surprised still that they that they decided to
- 43:58Speaker 1: move on? Just I think it's funny because his first
- 44:00Speaker 1: goal around his first order business was to take a
- 44:03Speaker 1: guy that most people thought was pretty good in Jay
- 44:06Speaker 1: Cutler and cut Ties sight unseen. Basically it wasn't because
- 44:10Speaker 1: he went there and realized that Cutler was kind of
- 44:13Speaker 1: the dufist that we all know him as now right, Um,
- 44:16Speaker 1: he just decided I'm gonna cut Ties. He alienated Brandon
- 44:19Speaker 1: Marshall in the process and it was a disaster. So
- 44:21Speaker 1: this time he goes in and he's, oh, no, no no,
- 44:23Speaker 1: we're gonna we're gonna extend the incumbent quarterback. And we
- 44:27Speaker 1: are a year in and because they're on the hook
- 44:30Speaker 1: for forty million if they don't really sten today and now.
- 44:32Speaker 1: And that's Davante Adam Selvater who was like, not only
- 44:34Speaker 1: I think Dante Adams is really lobbying to get Rogers. Yeah,
- 44:39Speaker 1: well that could be that could be on the table
- 44:41Speaker 1: as well. Perhaps we'll see as we but Jimmy would
- 44:44Speaker 1: be good for like ten games you'll break down. I
- 44:47Speaker 1: am surprised at some of the conversations around this quarterback
- 44:51Speaker 1: class that that I've heard, though, because I think the
- 44:54Speaker 1: quarterback class a little bit better than it's getting talked
- 44:57Speaker 1: the other way, because I know you don't like Will
- 44:59Speaker 1: Levis and every but he has him in the first
- 45:01Speaker 1: so Will I saw. I saw some things out there
- 45:03Speaker 1: about Will Levis from some people that I that I
- 45:06Speaker 1: do normally trust and think no football, but you're kind
- 45:10Speaker 1: of comparing him to sort of that like Herbert level
- 45:12Speaker 1: prospect where it's not like a it's not a slam dunk,
- 45:15Speaker 1: but he's got the tools and if you get him,
- 45:17Speaker 1: get it out of him sort of thing. But I've
- 45:19Speaker 1: seen Josh Allen. I don't think big, big runner who
- 45:23Speaker 1: Row but yeah, refined enough. But I look at CJ.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Stroud and and Bryce Young and they're as good to
- 45:30Speaker 1: prospects as to any of the guys maybe besides Burrow
- 45:33Speaker 1: who's come out recently. I mean what Stroud did against
- 45:37Speaker 1: George's defense and the College Football Playoff is I mean
- 45:40Speaker 1: that was absolutely ridiculous, Like some of the throws he
- 45:43Speaker 1: was making or just absolutely absurd. I don't know how
- 45:46Speaker 1: you look at that film and not think, Okay, this
- 45:48Speaker 1: guy could be a franchise quarterback, just like the rest
- 45:50Speaker 1: of those guys you know in the last time. I
- 45:52Speaker 1: just would worry about the size, especially with young He's
- 45:54Speaker 1: really small. Um, but they're both, I mean it, terrific players.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Kind of an email here at Paul, I'm gonna throw
- 46:02Speaker 1: this one to you is I I don't know the
- 46:03Speaker 1: answer to this, but you might. This is from Mark
- 46:05Speaker 1: and Saint or sorry, Mark Saint Louis, not Mark from
- 46:08Speaker 1: Saint Louis. Mark Saint Louis writing in about his UVM
- 46:12Speaker 1: days correctly if I'm wrong, But wasn't Scott Zolak's dad
- 46:15Speaker 1: Montana's high school coach. I think they edited the promost
- 46:18Speaker 1: because the sports Hub is deleted the portion of Zolax
- 46:20Speaker 1: clip when he mentioned his high school and Joe Montana. Yeah,
- 46:23Speaker 1: he was a coach in high school. He was not
- 46:26Speaker 1: the head coach, the guy that the name begins with
- 46:29Speaker 1: an Amapolis or something like that. Um, I didn't look
- 46:35Speaker 1: it up. You're looking it up, Evan, Yeah? Or did
- 46:38Speaker 1: you lose interest? Yeah, Zoe's dad. As a matter of fact, UM,
- 46:45Speaker 1: Matt Smith was on a trip with the Patriots, UM
- 46:49Speaker 1: and Montana was there, and in conversation, Matt asked Montana
- 46:54Speaker 1: if he knew Scott zolak Zo because I love Zoe,
- 46:58Speaker 1: I love his dad because he's his dad was definitely
- 47:01Speaker 1: a coach there. They grew up in the same town, um,
- 47:05Speaker 1: you know, in western Pennsylvania. They played together. It's hard
- 47:08Speaker 1: to find, but he was young, Um Montana, um was
- 47:12Speaker 1: I think yeah, he was like a ball boy, like
- 47:17Speaker 1: running around throwing throwing passes with Montana as a kid.
- 47:20Speaker 1: That's pretty cool. I don't know how you know how
- 47:22Speaker 1: many I don't know how many years apart they are,
- 47:23Speaker 1: but probably at least ten because Montana came into the
- 47:27Speaker 1: league in like seventy nine and Zoe didn't come into
- 47:29Speaker 1: like ninety one, so it's probably more than that. So
- 47:32Speaker 1: according to Google, uh, Zoe's dad was the ad of
- 47:37Speaker 1: the high school. Okay, he wasn't on the coaching staff,
- 47:39Speaker 1: but maybe he was at a earlier time. Yeah, I
- 47:42Speaker 1: know this piece that I read that Um who wrote
- 47:46Speaker 1: that piece? Was it Wickersham? That long piece on Montana?
- 47:51Speaker 1: It was right to right. Thompson right, Thompson um he
- 47:56Speaker 1: had a name and had like even quotes from the
- 47:58Speaker 1: guy's daughter saying how nice Montana was to the family,
- 48:04Speaker 1: even after all the bad things that is, her father
- 48:06Speaker 1: had said about Montana, he was always very gracious and uh,
- 48:11Speaker 1: you know it was I forget the name now, but
- 48:13Speaker 1: it was not Zolak's father. Oh that two leader is
- 48:17Speaker 1: like heaven to me right now. Yeah. It says he
- 48:19Speaker 1: was the ad at the high school that Zoe went to. Perfect. Well,
- 48:24Speaker 1: lunch is here, so we're gonna take a quick break.
- 48:26Speaker 1: We will be supposed to say, Paul's gotta eat. I
- 48:28Speaker 1: didn't want to throw you under the bus. I was
- 48:29Speaker 1: trying to be nice. I'm like myself under the bus.
- 48:31Speaker 1: He was like, oh, my two leaders of Pepsi's here. Sorry,
- 48:34Speaker 1: we're all we're all probably gonna eat. Something else brought
- 48:36Speaker 1: a lunch and Evan's got a back too, so we're
- 48:38Speaker 1: all gonna eat. We'll take a break back shortly. Verizon,

- 57:55Speaker 1: FDIC And now great moment history. I know everybody around
- 58:03Speaker 1: here says the You know, the Celtics love to make
- 58:05Speaker 1: it hard on themselves, and you know they're doing it again,
- 58:08Speaker 1: and they're blown opportunity with like nothing to do with
- 58:11Speaker 1: the other team, like forcing eight team turnovers. It's the
- 58:14Speaker 1: Celtics govern That's what I was trying to tell you
- 58:16Speaker 1: all these years with the Patriots when you would say
- 58:18Speaker 1: the other teams stake and I say, well, maybe the
- 58:20Speaker 1: Patriots had something to do with it. But now because
- 58:23Speaker 1: now you have that take Wait a minute, and I'm
- 58:25Speaker 1: glad you've come around. Wait a minute, and I agree
- 58:27Speaker 1: with your take on the Patriots, and I always have
- 58:29Speaker 1: no in games like you and Andy and play it
- 58:32Speaker 1: sucks the Pats. You know you're you're making two different arguments.
- 58:35Speaker 1: The league does what happens. The league does suck by
- 58:39Speaker 1: and large and teams give games away. But you can't
- 58:42Speaker 1: tell me they won six Super Bowls because the other
- 58:43Speaker 1: team sucked. No, that's stupid. That's what you guys used
- 58:46Speaker 1: to say never once that I little super Bowl, the
- 58:49Speaker 1: other team sucked. I would I would give credit to
- 58:52Speaker 1: the other team and the Patriots having beaten that team.
- 58:54Speaker 1: You would take away from the Patriots by diminishing the
- 58:57Speaker 1: other team. I would take away again and again and
- 58:59Speaker 1: again when when they get dominated by like the Cleveland
- 59:03Speaker 1: Browns and Louis because Cleveland gives the ball away seventeen times.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Like that's different, right, because my Patriots had nothing to
- 59:08Speaker 1: do it. But you don't beat the like the Steelers
- 59:10Speaker 1: and the Colts and the Rams all because the other
- 59:13Speaker 1: team sucks. Sorry, the other team doesn't suck. No, But
- 59:15Speaker 1: day say, teams come to me. That's what the teams come.
- 59:18Speaker 1: They just pooped themselves. I just don't know what to do.
- 59:22Speaker 1: It's all about the Celtics sucking, not the Golden State
- 59:25Speaker 1: doing anything that I agree with. And I also agree
- 59:27Speaker 1: with the other way too. That's another great moment from
- 59:33Speaker 1: all Right. We are back from lunch here on Patriots Unfiltered.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Last hour coming up, and uh, I got to jump
- 59:39Speaker 1: right into one of these emails because it's it's got
- 59:41Speaker 1: Paul Paul written all over it. We got to tap
- 59:42Speaker 1: your your mind when it comes to scoring and going
- 59:46Speaker 1: for two and all of these things we'll put I
- 59:48Speaker 1: would have my my guests here. I'm gonna guess what
- 59:52Speaker 1: the question is. My guest here is Evan may have
- 59:55Speaker 1: been more willing to have gone for two than I
- 59:58Speaker 1: would be. Oh yeah, you see, he's got the pater.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: After the Chiefs last touchdown, they kicked the extra point
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: to go up eight. The analytic people are up in
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: arms about this. Yes, I look at it as I've
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: guaranteed that that a tie is going to happen. If
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: I miss it, I could lose, because I don't know
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: why you would go unconventional and go for two in
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: a situation like that, but just automatically assume Philadelphia is
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: not going to go for two and try to be well,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: especially the way Philadelphia has got gone for two all
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: year there. Right, They're a no risk it, no biscuit
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: type of right I would I would have been afraid,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna kick the extra you know, I'm gonna go
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: for two and miss and be up seven and I'm
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: gonna lose in regulation. That would have been my fear.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Philly is all over the nerds, like for like in
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: a good way like fourth and one. They're going like
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: a difference to me, like I think you go up eight.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I remember Pete Carroll did it here against when when
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Seattle came here from one of the more entertaining regular
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: season games out of the bye right, one of those
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: yeah they could was coming off of buy it was
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: a Sunday night game here, and he did that. He
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: scored with less than five minutes left to go up
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: seven and went for two. And remember Bill, who, as
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: we all know, is not an overly analytic, not overly
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: aggressive decision maker, you know, not not not analytic based.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: He remember that the camera caught him. He goes, do
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: I have the score wrong? Like you could read his lips.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Do I have to the score? Well? Uh? And he
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: went for two. Didn't get it? Um Tom Brady's last
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: every game here, uh, that playoff game against Tennessee on
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: the logan Ryan pick six, Mike Rabel went for two
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: to try to make it nine and missed it. So
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: people do do it. I'm not. I I understand the mindset.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: You try to go up two scores when there's not
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: enough time left for two scores. I get it. But
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: the Eagles are a good version of the Chargers. Like
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: the way they call the game offensively, and I like
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: the way you put Everybody gives Daley all this crap
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: for the way that he does it because they don't
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: convert the Eagle. I think he does it too much
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: deep in his territory. Like yeah, if you recall in
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, now, you could make an argument that
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: he should have stuck to his good The one time
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: that that the Eagles got stopped conventionally in that game
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: was after the Chiefs went ahead twenty eight twenty seven,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: the Eagles went three and out and punted on fourth
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: and two. We were talking about it, you know, the
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: group that I was watching with should they go for this?
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: And I was like, I think they did the right
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I think they did the right thing. Now in retrospect,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: that's the The ensuing punt was the one returned inside
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: the five yards by Tony, So you know you're not
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: planning on that. Well, there you go, Tyler. That was
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Tyler from Providence's question that I didn't even have to read.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: I just looked at Paul and said, I need you
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: ask you this one, and you knew exactly what it
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: was going. My only problem with with those things like
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: to me, I can hear it, like I think Evan
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: made a good argument for going for two, and I've
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: heard arguments that that. I step back and I say, yeah,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: that's a that's a good point. I would do it
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: this way, But I could see that side. It's the
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: people that get angry, like Felger got like really violently
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: angry yesterday at the suggestion of going for two. He
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: thinks he should have just kicked it to make it eight.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Bard wrote, and then I guess talked about on that show,
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: the Sunday Night Show, um about like violently saying how
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Andy Reid is still Indy Reid because he didn't go
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: for two Like that, to me is just pure hatred
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: of Andy Reid to be that, like, to be that
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: emotionally upset that a guy talking about didn't kick an
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: extra point, I mean, didn't go for two to try
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: to make it nine and kicked it to go up
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: eight in the Super Bowl, Like really, you've you're upset
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: about that? Like I don't don't. That's the analytics. That's
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: the analytics part that I don't understand. It's I think
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: that there's a solid argument for both, which I think
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: is where the analytics community. It's for them, it's we're right,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: and everybody else is in more because it's always about
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: the percentage, and if Shanda is more in your favorite,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: you have to do it every time, right, I think.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: So let's say the win percentage is it's a four
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: point swing, you know, percentage wise, if you go for
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: two versus not go for two. Well, that doesn't mean
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: that you still lose the game thirty five percent of
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: the time. And you you know, you know, it's you're
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: still talking around. There's a chance always that you could
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: still lose the game. But I think the go for
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: two to go up nine is a good idea because
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: that too possession thing. When you really start to get
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: into the math of okay, how many times can they
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: possess the ball with less than five minutes to go
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: in a football game? You really are putting them up
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: against it in terms of time to even just be
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: able to attempt to do it. And had they gone
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: for two, I wouldn't be sitting here saying Andy Reid
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: blew it. But I'll guarantee you if they had gone
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: for two and not gotten it, and then the Eagles
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: went ahead and he read blew it. It would have
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: been Andy Reid, blew it. What you doing going for two?
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Fire them like that's what would have happened. Yeah, Darry,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: all right, I got I got two emails. I'm going
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: to be back to back kind of the illustrating two
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: ends of the Patriots fan spectrum here these days. I'm
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: gonna I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna do this in
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: the Fred kind of Fred vote. I don't know if
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: it'll be a Fred voice, It'll just be a Fred feeling,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: because I feel like this is a Fred email. From
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: the word dynast. This is from Joe on Michigan. This
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: is an email. The word dynasty means dot dot dot.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: A powerful group that maintains its position for a considerable time.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: Twenty years is a dynasty, not five. Five is a run.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: Casey is not a dynasty. Joe on Michigan. That's his
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Why do people care so much about? Hold on? Now?
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: We got Shotty from Houston. I wanted to run about
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: Patriot fans this week. The incessant bitching about the Chiefs
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: and being helped out by the rest make this fan
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: base look ridiculous. The majority of this fan base has
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: turned into what Patriots fans complained about during the Brady years.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Mahomes is what Brady was. Different styles, obviously, but both
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: winners and the Chiefs are what we were and should
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: aspire to be in the next year's moving forward. So
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: balance trying to bring you both that that's very unfredlike
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: he would have only read one of her first he
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: would only read the top one right well, that one
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: had Fred written all over it. But you know, I
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I just like, like what Andy. Andy asked me the
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: same question when I went on EI this weekend with them,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: and you know, you're you're trying to trigger the Patriots fans.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: It's like, oh, you know, patri you know, and and like,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I just like, what do we expect here as Patriots fads?
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Like we got the greatest twenty years to watch football.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: It was as good as it could possibly be, had
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: ups and downs, wins, losses, roller coaster. I mean, I
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: don't know as an NFL fan what you could want more.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Another team was gonna come along and be good and
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: you know, and inevitably the comparison so Joe and Michigan. Okay,
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: I want you to think back Jacksonville, Super Bowl thirty
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: nine Patriots over the Eagles. The aftermath, Gil Santos, Yes,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: back to back, three out of four. Yes, it's a dynasty,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: three out of four dynasty. And and by the way,
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: he was right, three out of four, like you went
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: three times. Now you can make an argument, well, the
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Chiefs haven't won, they've gone to three to four, but
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: the only one two right, Yeah, so you can make
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: the argument that what they've done is not a dynasty,
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: mean dynasty though, like the core root of the word,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: it's it's generational rain. And that's I think what the
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Patriots did accomplish. It is funny you say that, though, Alex,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: because I think your Patriots is unquestionably a dynast You're
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: right because and that's why I'm saying the Chiefs aren't yet,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: because I would say the Chiefs are, I would say
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: the Steelers of the seventies were. I would say the
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: forty nine Ers were. I would say the Cowboys of
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: the nineties were. And the Patriots in the niners were
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: the longest ones, they were the best ones. Yeah, it
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: was almost like, I mean, I kind of like first dynasty. Second,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: I mean yeah, two two runs of three. I mean
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: they were connected. Obviously, Tom Brady was the connective tissue
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: of it all. But see, I connect them because not
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: because Brady and Belichick stayed, but because every year in
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: those ten years that they didn't win it, with the
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: exception of oh eight, they had a chance to win it.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Every year. Every year you went into it and you said,
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: they're going to the playoffs, they're going deep in the playoffs,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: and they might go to the super Bowl every year
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: for ten years. They didn't win at any of those
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: ten years. But that, to me, that's what the Chiefs
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: will be as long as Mahomes is healthy. You know,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: it was kind of cool for me to see, and
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: it was a little bit surprising, was and this came
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: off an Ordolovski video. Evan, I'm sure you know what
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: I'm bringing up with. You know the two plays that
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: they played off each other with Tony where they had
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: the motion and then they reverse the motions, had him
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: go out and you know, just credit to Andy Reid
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: play design. And you know, are we ever going to
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: get to a point where we're gonna have Mahomes and
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: verse Andy Reid and who's like the bigger piece of it?
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: And you know, like, because right now happened it feels
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: to me right now where we're at, and I haven't
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: seen that yet, but I just I feel like it's
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: a perfect marriage right now of Patrick Mahomes being able
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: to pull the trigger on whatever he wants to do
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: and him just putting players in position to succeed. And
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: you know those examples are being highlighted. It's just, you know,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: obviously we know what's talked about around here, but I
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: don't know. So you said we're getting on that point now,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: that's exactly why the world's gonna tear them down, you know. Oh,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: I think it's it's been there for a long time.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: I think he read was widely considered to be a
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: bozo in Philadelphia and he could not he bungled the
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: clock constantly with Alex Smith. Patrick Mahomes is here. He
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: no longer is screwing up the end of the game situations.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Although I think you can make an argument that they
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: were a little overly aggressive at the end from the
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: fifteen yard line, I think you might have been better
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: off running the ball on the second down play to
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: maybe make it, I don't know, third and five instead
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: of third and eight, right, I just don't the whole
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: dynasty thing. I don't know why this bothers Patriots fans.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: I don't and I just wish Fred was here to
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: listen to you. And I also don't know why people
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: try to trigger Patriots fans with this. I like I
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: do because I know, but Patriots fans triggered themselves. Okay,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: like I'm gonna call him out. Ben Vollan wrote that
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: was what do we do? And Ben like, wait, catch
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: me up. So Ben Volland wrote an article right after
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: the Super Bowl that said, sorry, Patriots fans, the Chiefs
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: are a dynasty. And you know how much she wrote
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: about the you know how much he wrote about the
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Chiefs dynasty like three sentences right, and then it was
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: like it was totally he was totally intentional. I just
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: don't know why this bother no one. No one is
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: saying that the Chiefs dynasty in air quotes is more
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: impressive than yours. Nobody is saying that. Nobody is saying
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: that it's equal. Like, I don't understand why this is
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: so triggering, Like nobody is sitting there saying the Chiefs
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: are a dynasty that was better than your dynasty. It's
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: just if they if you want to call it Chiefs dynasty. Fine,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: but nobody's saying it's better than the Patriots. Nobody. I
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: don't know why. You know why cheap right lions and
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: cheap like That's where I go with this. I agree
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: with you. But the other the other fuck fact is
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: there is it's it's real, like the voland thing was real,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: like he was completely trying to troll Pagriots fans. But
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: the other part of it is real too. And this
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: is a tweet that came out. People will complain about
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: all the overwrought Mahomes hype, but how many other quarterbacks
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: that have ever played could complete two immediate intermediate short
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: yardage misdirection touchdowns to wholly uncovered players schemed up open
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: by his coaches. He's a wizard and you're just gonna
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: have to live with it. Yeah, that's a bad one too.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: You know who did that? I don't want to know,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Matt Chadham. Oh well, yeah, Like, are you telling me
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: as a former NFL player and I use that term
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: loosely because he played special teams and we all know
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: that doesn't count. You're gonna tell me that you don't
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: have respect for Patrick Mahomes's ability. You forfeit all right
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: to talk about the game when you write something like
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: that to me. And I know he's tongue in cheek,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: but that's his mentality. I've seen enough of his tweets
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: over time to know that's what he thinks. The Patriots
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: are the only team that does it right and everybody
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: else is a moron and lacks talent. Right Like how
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: like Evan said it at the very beginning of the show,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: like how mad did the Patriots fans used to get
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: when everybody would say Brady gets all the breaks, Like
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: every time Brady needs a flag, he gets it, yep.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: And now you're doing the same thing right and that
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: if I've seen that that meme of Bill Vinovich with
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: the Chiefs colors on his right referee shirt, I've seen
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: it like ten times, and I saw I saw a
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: Chiefs fan tweet something exactly to that. Paul almost like
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: apologizing to Patriots fans, being like, it's always the calls.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: Everybody's out to get us. I get it now and
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: it's and it's like, as a Patriots fan, what did
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: you want back then? Just the people to tip the
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: cap and say you guys are good, And that's just
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: what you're doing with the Chiefs. Like, to your point,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: how can you, like, how can you enjoy football and
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: not appreciate what kind of player Patrick Mahomes is, Like,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: that's just to me, that's the pure joy of full
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: Just just think about how things changed. So the first
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: time they went to the Super Bowl against San Francisco,
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: he was a little erratic. Earlier in the game, he
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: had a couple of picks. Then it gets to the
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: fourth quarter, they're down ten, and he's unbelievable balls, right,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: He's nails in the fourth quarter. The next time they
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: go to the Super Bowl, he got his ass kicked
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: for for the full sixty minutes. Very similar, in my opinion,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: to the Patriots against the Giants in forty two, when
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Brady was completely under siege for the entire game. At
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: the time, everybody said Mahomes had no shot. I mean,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: he was just getting killed. I mean they were even
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: showing some of the incomplete passes that he was throwing.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: While like, but this this is my point we make.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: I'm listening to the radio this past week and this
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: was like a lot of different people saying and if
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: you remember, like, Mahomes really hasn't even played good when
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: he's gotten there. I mean the first time he kind
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: of sucked in the first game and it came back
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: late because Garoppolo missed that pass. I'm like, is that
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: why they came back later? They scored twenty one points
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter. And I thought, by the way,
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: playing bad early in the game, but being balls in
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: the fourth quarter to bring your team from behind, I
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: don't know, like maybe Brady did against Seattle or you know,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: getting you know, throwing two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: you have to throwing a pick in the goal line
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: earlier in the game. I always thought that that kind
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: of carried more weight, like being the best when it
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: matters most. I always thought that counted for more. But
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: not only he sucked in the game against San Francisco.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: He sucked against Tampa Bay too, So I guess like
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Brady sucked against the Giants in that game, or well,
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Brady got his ass kick for sixty minutes against the Giants,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Like which is it? Yeah, And that's the part of
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: it that I can't if you can't be intellectually honest
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: and say, yeah, I think the Patriots dynasty is better
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: than everybody else's, Like like Alex explained, like the longevity
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: of that run is better than anything that's happened. I
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: think San Francisco's is right on par with it. By
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: the way, Man, I think they I think they won
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: five from eighty one to ninety four, but this was
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: but the Patriots went better. They have six, so it's
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: a little bit better. But you can't tell me that
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: what the Chiefs have done in the six years is
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: comfortable to what the Patriots did in the first six
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: years of Braidy's career. It's almost the same, right, And
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: now you're at the point after this championship where you're
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: not asking yourself, well, what's it going to look like
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: when he is on Tyreek hildethrow Doo anymore? You know.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: I mean, I think this year, I just wonder what
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: it look like with Kelsey, without Kelsey, and no, I
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: wonder what it'd be like without Andy Reid. And he
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: read sixty four. So I think I think Bill was
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: I think Bill was still in his forties toward the
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: end of the first part of the you know, I
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: get this at a similar stage. He's seventy now, so yeah,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: I mean that kind of checks out. If he was
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: like in his late forties, early fifties, fifty two, maybe
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: Andy Reid sixty for how many more years he got,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: plus he each Cheesburg is like Paul if I'm him, though,
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: like they they got assuming that the enemy doesn't go anywhere,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: and they have spags on the defensive side of the ball,
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Like he can just be kind of that over. He
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: doesn't have to put in the man hours that maybe
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: he once did because he's got some good lieutenants there
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: to run the show for him on the details. But
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: I just again, I nobody is saying that the chiefs
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: are better than you. Nobody better than Brady, no one
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: like career. They might say he has more skilled than Brady,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: but no one's saying he's accomplished more than Brady. Well
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: he hasn't. It's talk about the third part of it, though,
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: how much of this do you think is is a
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: little bit motivated by the fact that Andy Reid is
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: immensely likable guy generally. I mean, I know there's some issues,
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: but but generally he's a very likable guy. And Bill
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: has just never been soft and fuzzy. He's been a
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: dick a lot of the times to the media, and
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: you know that's kind of his relationship and he's just
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: quite you know, like, no, I think that's true. You know,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: I think that that's I think he's more people want
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: to think, is more well liked around the league. People,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: more people trying to go to bat for him, and
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: I don't know, I think that's part of it too. Uh.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Let's jump back to the phone, and he gets a
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: lot of static read ready because people that people think
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: that he's a product of now he might be. I
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: looked at he dragged Donovan mcnabby straight garfage titles and
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: he's Alex Smith. They were pretty good and like every
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: year with no matter who is I mean, I know
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: that they haven't been as good as Patrick Mahomes, but
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: no matter who his quarterbacks been, it's Alex Smith, Donovan McNabb.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: He's making the playoffs winning season. I look at it.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: I think he's a pretty good coach, especially to make
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: an offense around Mahomes, which just gives you so many
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: opportunities to do different things. And I mean it's a
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: perfect combination of creativity and ability. Let's jump back to
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: the phone's Hey, Mark from Bolton, what's going on? Mark? Hey, guys,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: I know it's primarily a post Super Bowl call. Todaybody
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: know that Evan had his first Mark draft a lot
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: oh Jar did as a fifty we do four year
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: season ticket holder. I'm about we should look into doing
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: mock drafts. You should maybe ask ask somebody if we've
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: done those. Sorry, Mark Goohead's so right, No, I mean,
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: like I was just saying, I'm a fifty four year
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: season to get holder. I'm looking for for going forward
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: and getting the Chiefs when they come here next year
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: and you know, get some get some players to kick
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: their ass. So I mean Evans, you know at fourteen
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: had SCARONI also had Josh down to forty six. I
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: think those are I don't think we can do any
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: better than either of those picks, which means that I
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: don't know if they're going to actually happen. But right,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: But so, another scenario I'd like to throw out there
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: is if somehow one of the top all four quarterbacks
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: are there when the past come up at fourteen, like
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Nancy Richardson, we might be able to trade down with
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: something like the thing at twenty eight. Um, so we
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: could get twenty eight and forty, and then we'd also
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: have to throw in our fourth round, pick like number one,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: sixteen to get to get uh, you know, get those.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: So then you have twenty eight and we're going from
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: fourteen to twenty eight. We should be able to get
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: a lot for that. Two groups of receivers, the tough
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: cover group, which I don't dare call a slot because
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Paul Will jumped on my throat what just let him
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: a long receiver a couple of weeks ago, and it's like,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: I'm so sick of this idea that all you need
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: use this, you know, fifth round guy who's a three
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: cone drop? No, we got that was me, We got
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: we got Yeah, that was deuce, that was my but no,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: but we get it. We get it. Charlie Jones, produce
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: Charlie Johnes. There you go, smaller and less athletic the better. Well,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: so anyway, there's there's three of those is Addison, you know,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Smith and Check and Flowers, you know, and maybe one
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: of those falls with twenty eight. If not, then one
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: of the two home runheaters might fault to you know,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: Quentin Johnson, Daleen hyatt Um. I'm of the philis got
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: the tough cover johnson Um. But then at forty, then
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: you picked off one of your you know, maybe left tackle,
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: you know, Anton Harrison's, Darnell Wright, Darwin Jones, project guys
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: possibly um to hand. So Mark, can I just backpedal
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: real quick for a second. Yeah, because that's that's exactly
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: what I was going to try to do. What are
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: we what are we getting from New woleans to go
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: from fourteen to twenty eight because that's a big that's
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: a big drop. We should be able to get a
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: significant amount of resources for that. So what are we
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: getting their number two, which is a great pick at
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: number forty? Okay, we should get more than that. No, no,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: no we don't. That's all the draft for fourteen spots
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: in the first round all you get. Unfortunately, teams have
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: gotten smarter about these trades. The Patriot Jesus swindle teams
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: all the time like this, and that's when it trading
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: down and actually was shrewd because they would get future
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: first round picks for trading down. I would do it
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: for that, right, So they would trade down from you
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: know forty this year is worth the first round next year, right,
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: so they want they would get those future first round picks. Unfortunately,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: now a lot of the Jimmy Johnson draft chart that
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: teams used to use to value picks. We now have
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: the nerds are making smarter ones of those chill and
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: they are no longer value a blogger, Yeah, they're no
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: longer valuing. The picks are no longer as valuable. Right,
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: So you know, I would take a first round or
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: in the future if you could get it. If it's
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: just getting the number forty pick. I don't want the
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: seventh tackle at twenty eight. Yeah, well no, but you're
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: getting no, you're getting numbers. You're getting there, obviously, you're
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: getting there, number twenty eight plus forty. Yeah. So so
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: for just adding the fortieth pick, I have holes to
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: fill it. I have a good draft pick. I want
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: to take a good player. I don't want to hope,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: well that I get like the fifth tackle on the board. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: but I'm saying I'm saying, well, I'm saying you're going
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: to get one of your top needs, which is receiver,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: which is a primary receiver, whether it's going to be
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: your under your tough cover or one of your home
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: run hitters. And then these tackles are not bums. I mean,
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: these guys are looking like, you know, players that can
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: come in and play or I mean you you've you've
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: got Trent Jones for another year to I mean, whats
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: the name brown? You know to cover the left tackle,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: and you sign a right tackle in free agency, um,
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: these guys, and then you're getting an extra you know,
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: that extra pick allows you to go get a prospect.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: I mean a high end prospect. I think we need
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: like a like a Luke Musgrave for this modern day
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: tight end. And that's you're getting total offense. But you
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: keep you you use in terms like high end, and
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: you're going from fourteen to twenty eight and forty, Like
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: that's a lesser end than I want to take. I
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: want to take a better player at fourteen. Well, just
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: telling you the reality that Okay, well you're not going
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: to get anymore. Um that's all I'm telling you now.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: I think, So that's fine. I'll still like the trade
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: down scenarios that that yeah, he just laid out, Like thanks, Mark, appreciate.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: There's some there's some logic to it. I'm not gonna
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: sit here and completely dismiss it, but I just I
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: always come back to with the draft. With the Patriots,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: they are in a position where they need I call them,
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: blue chippers, whatever you want to call them. They need
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: guys that are franchise players, they need pillars of this
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: next team. I'm with you, Yeah. And if you're trading
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: from fourteen to twenty eight to draft a guy, you know,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: even if you do get somebody like Jackson Smith and
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Jigberz a Flyers and you get lucky that one of
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: those guys falls in your lap later on in the
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: first round, I just feel like you are taking that
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: risk that I'm sorry, I'm gonna say it, that you're
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: gonna end up with another Coal Strange. And I like
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: Cole Strange. I think he's a solid guard. You don't
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: need solid guards right now. You need guys that are
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: going to change the dynamic of your team, that are
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: going to really be you know, pillar players, blue chippers,
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: franchise guys, whatever you want to call it. And you
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: have this asset at fourteen where I think that that's
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: very attentable, and now all of a sudden you're trading
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: down to go right back into the good but not
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: great range of the draft. It's as high as you
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: pick since met you took Mayo, I mean, highest pick
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: you've had. I'm with Evan, Like, really, luck step on
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: that whole mentality. I don't not necessarily the specific players
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: or positions, but the mentality. Yeah, I think when you
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: have holes on your roster when you were a sub
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: five hundred team, you need an injection of talent. And yes,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: Mark's trade could work out perfectly because you could move
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: down and somehow get the guy that you want. Anyway,
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: I think you're rolling the dice. I think you're rolling
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: the dice. I think that this is exactly what's gotten
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: them into this mess, to be honest with you, is
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: that they think, Okay, the guy, the guy at twenty
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: eight is the same player as the guy at fourteen,
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: and that is just not accurate. It's just not the truth.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: It's that whole mentality of well, and I'm just using
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: names here just so I'm not telling you where they're ranked,
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: because I don't know where they're all ranked. But you know,
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: Smith and Jigba and Zay Flowers, doesn't matter. We could
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: take either one of them, I'm sorry, Like one of
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: them's evaluating talent, one of them is better than the other, right,
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: So I can't just say, oh, I'd be happy with
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: either one of them. So I'll wait till twenty eight. No,
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: if I want one of those guys, and I'm not
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: saying those I'm just using them as examples Scronsky and Johnson,
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: you know, tackles. Yeah, no, one of them is better.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: So I want the better player. I don't want to
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: just say, well, I'll probably get the other one at
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: twenty eight if I wait, I want the guy that
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: my talent evaluators think is the guy that's most ready
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: to play at a high level. Yeah, I think, I mean,
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: I think, And it's the cold strange thing is a
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: perfect analogy. I mean just looking at the board, the
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: way that it was presented to them when Coles where
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: they were on the clock originally, and they traded Dad
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: for Cole Strange. I don't want to like play revision
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: his history all the time with the draft, but it's
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: just you had guys on that board that had that
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: type of talent, and you took the guard and I
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: think you got what you like you paid for. I
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: think the team, the offense last year, the team last
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: year was a total microcosm of that was Draft night,
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: was taking Cole Strange in the first round, and look
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: at some of those chiefs guys like they had like
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: four rookies or something playing in the secondary. And I
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: know that McDuffie got beat deep. I thought he was
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: competitive as hell the whole game, Like even that play,
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: I don't think he got torched. He just lost the ball.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: Um that that was one of the guys that was
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: in between where you traded down from. So you picked
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: quay Walker Devin Lloyd, and then you know, I look
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: at this draft and at fourteen there is it might
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: be too early for some of the wide receivers. The
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: one thing I agree with the caller is that the
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: wide receiver sweet spot is probably going to be in
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: the twenties and thirty. I'm with Mark on that too, right,
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: I don't think any of these wide receivers are twenty
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: top twenty picks this year. That's why I just said
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: I'm just using names here. I'm not telling you the positions.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: I agree with Mark on that that mentality of the
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: wide Look at all the guys AJ Browns and the
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: Terry mclaurin's of the world. I mean, there's a million
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: of debo. There's a million really really good wide receivers
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: nineteen draft that weren't first round picks. That's what makes
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: that draft for it even more. You picked the only
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: guy in that entire draft at that position that couldn't
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: play right jj R Kaga Whiteside also couldn't play to
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: be fair, but I think so. You know, the Patriots
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: were interested. I'm sure they were. The tackles in the
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: corners though that they someone at fourteen is going to
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: be available at one of the those two positions, whether
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: it's the top three tackles, or it's Joey Porter Junior
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: or Christian Gonzalez from Oregon or whoever. Like, someone is
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: going to be available at that spot that has that
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: type of elite level talent, measurables, athleticism, film like the
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: whole package, and you gotta just get one of those
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: guys at some point. Yeah, who's gonna fall through the cracks?
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: It's kind of similar to what we were thinking when
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: we were fifteen with Mac. You know, it's just what's
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: gonna happen to top ten? Who's going up to get quarterbacks?
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: What are we going to be left with? It should
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: push some of the value down. Uh, let's jump back
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: to the phones here, William and Phil, I'm sorry for
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: making your hold on so long, William. How you doing, man,
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I'm doing I'm doing, dude, how you doing that? I'm good,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: I'm good, Thank you? Okay, Um, I have someone some
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: many things I want to say. Geez man, Um, I'll
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: start just far to draft up and I'll leave it
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: at there. I see that. Uh your board, your buddy
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: and cold work. Um did the draft from one? My draft? Oh? Yes?
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: What do you get? He okay? So the the first
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: pick is fine. I'm cool with that because I see
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: everybody wants that tackle from Georgia, which is prouder Jones Jones,
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: I like, I like him. I like him is where
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: he lost him with the third pick. The third pick.
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: He want us draft in a five eight uh five
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: A wilde receiver Tank Dell Like I know, yeah, Tank
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: del So I like Tank deal too. But here's my
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: pushback with that. Um Evan, all right, you have you have,
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: um Marcus Jones, he's five A two. Why do we
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: we got enough short? We know, corner receiver? Whatever we need?
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: Tall guy. You know what I'm You understand what I'm saying.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: I think you need. I think you need bigger than
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: Tank Dell. I'm with you on that. When I was
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: doing my mock draft, I ran into a similar thing
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: where there is I was originally was trying to look
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: for a receiver in that third round and for the
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: third round pick, and I got to that spot and
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: I'm looking at Tank Dell. I'm looking at Rashi Rice
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: from SMU. I don't really like to be honest with you,
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: and some other guys that are you know, Xavier Hutchinson
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: Iowa State, and I'm just like, I don't love any
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: of these guys, Like they're all fine, but I don't
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: love any of them. I think they're all complimentary receivers
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: at the next level. I don't think any of these
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: guys are difference makers. And with Tank Dell, I think
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: he has the difference making separation ability, but he's tiny,
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: and I just can't get on board with that's sixty pounds.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: So I ended up taking downs in the second round
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: because he's just a little bit bigger. He's five ten,
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: he's one eighty, Like, he's just a little bit bigger.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: He's not this big dude, but he's a little bit bigger.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: I don't necessarily get caught up in I don't think
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: they need Quinton Johnston like I don't think they need
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: a six foot four guy. But I do think that
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: because I'm just not sold that that's what's best to
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: pair with Mac Jones. Like, I just don't know. What
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: you're asking Mac Jones to then do is feed a
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: number one receiver who lives outside the numbers vertically down
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: the field and outside the numbers. I just don't know
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: if that's what's best for the quarterback. I said it
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: to deuce off the era. This is gonna be my
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: take for the draft. They need to get back offensively
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: to winning in the middle of the field slot receiver
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: position tight ends because that's what the quarterback does best.
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: If you wanted to be chucking bombs, like I just don't.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: We saw what that looked like at times this year
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: when they became more vertical and he's turned the ball
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: over like crazy, and it just wasn't efficient at all.
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: I want to get back to the middle of the field.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: That's where I want to dominate. Okay, so so tell
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: me so get me all right? So it then tell
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: me who was it that shoot want? Then? Well, I
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: am going to release some wide receiver rankings later in
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: the week that you all can read on Patriots dot Com.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: But I'll give you some names. Just no, just one.
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: Just give me one name that you that you won
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: for us to have the pages they have. Just one.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: My my crush of the draft, one hundred and ten
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: percent crust Jackson Smith and Jigba from Ohio State is
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: my guy? That's my guy. Strange pig, did you Jackson
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: Smith and Jigba? No, that's taking a like the fifth
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: or six tackle at twenty eight would be kind of
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: like Jaison is. And I understand that they're all trying
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: to hype him up going into the draft, but I
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: believe Garrett Wilson and Chris Lave when they say that
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: he was the best out of the three of them,
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: and I think that that's that. I think there's some
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: truth to that. And I know that I always forget
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: who their wide receivers. Coaches at Ohio statement he's one
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: of the better ones in football at any level, and
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: he's said that he thinks that Jason's the best out
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: of all of them. Now, Marvin Harrison Junior was on
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: that team as a freshman, so I don't know if
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: their opinions would now chains but they said that he
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: that JSN in that wide receiver room with Garrett Wilson,
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: Chris olav and Marvin Harrison Junior that the best one
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: out of the four was Jackson Smith and Jigba. So
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: I I'm taking him all day long. He'll catch one
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: hundred and twenty passes in the slot from Matt Jones
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: if Matt Jones gets to where we hope he can
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: get to, and they'll be back to Wes Welker Julian
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: Edelman like, they'll be back to that type of offense. Thanks, William,
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: I agree. I totally agree. Rich. Thanks, I'm gonna let
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: you go. Okay. Um, So the caller that just called
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: before then he's saying, we trade from fourteen to what
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: twenty eight? Yeah, it was like a trade down and
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: get you know, an equivalent player who you know, on
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: most boards might actually be the fifth tackle, whereas you know,
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: for them, they see no difference between you know, taking
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: somebody like Roderick Jones in the top half of the draft. Right.
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: But dude, I mean, dude, don't you think that seems
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: like BILLI Bill Belichick situation he did last time. Yeah,
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: that's what we're saying. We're against. We want talent the
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: board takes on the board why are you moving to
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: in the picture situation right now? We don't need to
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: be moving all across the damn board like it's like
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: his chest. We don't need that right now, you know
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: what I'm saying. But we need talent. That's that's a
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: good good Thanks. There's a lot of calling in. I'm
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: gonna I'm gonna let even have a second. He's the
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: best part though, like to me about the whole situation
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: and part of the mail back this week, and people
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: were doing these kinds of things like, you know, should
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: they do this or I think that's what's gonna make
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: it an exciting offseason. They have a lot of work
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: to do, and I know that's daunting, but there's a
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: lot of work that's gonna happen. It's there's gonna be
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: a lot of you know, player acquisitions, and I think
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: there's gonna be trade markets open. I think they have
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: some cash space. They don't have a you know, a
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: crap ton, but they have plenty to do work. You
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: can trade for players, you can add players in free agency,
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: and you have eleven draft picks. So, Paul, who do
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: you think Evan Evan said that thing about tall outside
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: receiver that set up the bat signal. Somebody's calling in
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: ready to argue. Biggie, biggie, come on down. What's going on? Eldred?
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: How are you hey? No? Kind of the middle of
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: the field wide receivers, tin is you know what I mean?
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: Because he did throw deep when he was Alabama. Yeah, Williams, Yead,
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: Mike head Smith, he did throw deep, so he can't
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: throw dep But you know, like I'm not you're thinking that. Uh,
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: he's like DK Metcal was. Like I said before, he's
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: more than a one trick pony, more than outside the number.
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: He can run inside run, He run over round three.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: But he got Stee Johnson and like I did on
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: another show, I mean, I mean Patriot Steve catch Bull
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: passing one yards in a touchdown? Huh last year? Who's that?
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: Wait to say it again, how many guys we got
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: on the field that could catch like like he was
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: using a Winton Johnson like, Well, he only did just
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: in the championship game four four hundred fifty six in
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: a touchdown. I don't see that happened on the Patriots.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: So he's a big play guy, that's what he is. Absolutely,
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: he's a chunks play guy. And I I will push
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: back a little bit with the full round tree, I'm
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: not I'm not sure I'm with you on that he's
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: a big player receiver. There's no doubt about that. I
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: just don't think that Mac Jones and that type of
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: we actually saw and I listen, I get it was
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: with lesser talent, maybe potentially than a guy like Quentin Johnson.
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: But first month of last season they tried to be
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: a vertical offense. They tried to throw the football down
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: the field and he turned it over like crazy. I
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: just don't think he has the what do you think
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: of js nye? Slow guys running down the field. They
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: ain't no fasom down the field, slow guy. But then again,
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: I rather see the muse that fourteen on a corner.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: I hate to say this music on a corner. A
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: real man demand corner. And Evan I like that third
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: round pick. You got it, three guy corner. I like
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: him too, his brands. That's one of my guys. You
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: got one good job. Look, I there's a great argue
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: like Quintin Johnson's a good prospect. Like I'm not trying
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: to sit here and say you can't play. I just
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: can't don't think he's gonna be good for you. I
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: don't think they've ever taken that player and turned him
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: into a good, productive draft pick. They've never done it.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: They've taken He's Nikkil, Harry, Chad Jackson, Aaron Dobson, it's
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: the same guy, and they've never developed that player. And
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: I understand Bill O'Brien's back, and I think the offense
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: is going to be better and all those types of things,
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: But Bill O'Brien was here when, you know, when those
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: things were going on too, like the first time, and
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: they still is. He's not like some wide receiver whisper
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: that's going to come in and fix the receiver. Sure,
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: the offense is going to look much better schematically and
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: be coached up a lot better. But they've never taken
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: Quinton Johnston's skill set and turned that into what his
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: potential could possibly be in the NFL. They've never done it.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: I've seen them take slot guys and turned those guys
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: into Pro Bowl, All Pro type of players. So if
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: you take a guy like Jackson, Smith and Jigba and
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: you put him in Bill O'Brien's offense, balls, yeah like that.
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: That's that's the idea, and I just until i'd see it,
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: Until they take a guy like Quentin Johnston in the
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: draft at the top of the draft and turn him
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: into it an actual stud in the NFL, I'm not
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: going to be convinced that they would do it. I
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: just say I feel similar. I was a little surprised
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: that that was the direction Phil went with him. You know,
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: I respect Phil's takes, Um Paul, Yeah, anything. I think
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: at some point their offense needs to evolve, that's all. Like,
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: I think Evan's right, Like I remember all those guys too.
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: At some point they need to figure out a way
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: to move the ball without just throwing it eight yards
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: over the middle. So like post mac Jones evolving. Yeah,
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: Like I think that he might catch one hundred and
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: twenty balls. Now that's a lot of catches, obviously, but
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: how many plays is he making with those like Stefan
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: Diggs catches one hundred and twenty balls too, But I
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: think we could argue that No, no Smith and Jig,
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: but could be that dynamic kind of guy in the
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: slot who's averaging like thirteen to catch as opposed to nine. Yeah,
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: Like there's a big difference there. I know it doesn't
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: seem like a big difference, but that is a big
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: difference if you're making those kinds of plays. If they
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: can have a big play slot receiver, then I don't
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: care if he minds up. And this is why I
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: push back on Mark. I don't want to talk about
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: I don't have anything against a slot receiver. I have
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: something against the Patriots offense has to have a slot
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: receiver like mentality. No, they need good players. I don't
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: care where they line up and how they produce. If
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: they produce, I mean and Bob went to Houston and
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: produce with DeAndre Hopkins. Is the number one guy I
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: k who's not a true slot by any means Stefan Diggs,
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: not to obviously everybody would love to have Stefon Diggs.
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: But to me, the number one thing that they need
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: at that position is separation. And I think it's at
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: the first and second level, like I think the vertical separation.
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: But the quarterback that you currently have is not a fit,
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: Like it's just not a fit for the quarterback. I
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: don't want mac Jones to lead the league in deep
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: pass attempts, like I don't want that to be something
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: that talking talking about like next year, where we're halfway
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: through the year, like we were in the first month
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: last year, where he was throwing the ball twenty yards
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: down the field at like twenty five percent of the time,
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: And it was to taking notes on what you're saying.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: Right there, he's on the TV behind us. Let's hit out.
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: I believe this is Henderson, Nevada, Robert, thanks for holding
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: on what's going on Raider Country? Hi there, Hi, So
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: I just had a question. It's kind of a thought
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: of it randomly, but I m Bill Belichick. Do you
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: think he's ever gonna win another Super Bowl with the Patriots?
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: And how much longer do you think he has And
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: how long do you think it'll take before the Patriots
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: get back to that level of play? Gotcha, let's uh,
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: let's debate how long? How much long do you think
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: Bill's got a few more years? Three? I'm gonna say three.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: I think that's what he wants. Yeah, if he makes it,
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: it's gonna be really hard. I mean, you know, look,
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: I know we're all searching for and we all want
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: the Patriots to win the Super Bowl again, But I mean,
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: just given what we've seen him, where they're at in
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: the direction they went this year. Unless it's a huge
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: turnaround this year, like it's it's hard to say, yes,
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: he will definitely win a super Bowl within the next year.
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: And I try not to get into those because I
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: think in that league, you can turn it around so fast,
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: like you have like a really good offseason and you know,
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: a couple of things fall into place. I mean, who saw,
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: Like I think everybody knew that Philadelphia had some talent,
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: but who saw Jalen Hurts doing what he did this year?
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: And I'm not telling you this is what mac Jones
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: is going to do next year. But who saw Jalen
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: Hurts turning into an MVP candidate. I did Milly a
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: couple of years summers ago. I mean, I thought he
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: could be good. I thought he was a good runner,
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: and largely that's what he is, but he turned into
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: a pretty good passer too. And if mac Jones gets
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: Bill O'Brien like Kevin was talking about, and the offense
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: gets fixed, quote unquote, why can't they go from eight
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: wins to eleven wins and you go, you get eleven
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: wins and I think you were a threat. Now if
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: you squeak into the playoffs, you know nine or ten wins,
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: now you're probably wildcard fodder. But you win eleven or twelve,
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: I think you're in the mix. Yeah. I think getting
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: past that they take the draft seriously, then they can
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: be an eleven twelve one team. I just think you
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: can turn it around in that league so quickly because
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: the cap is so easily manipulated. Free agency is open
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: to everybody. Like back in the day, you had no
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: way to get players. If you didn't have them, there
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: was only one way to acquire them through the draft.
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: No one traded anybody, and no one had free agency
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: like in the seventies. If you didn't have something, you
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: were screwed. That's what I'm waiting for, is who's the
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: disgruntled wide receiver that we find out around the combine
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: wants out of whatever situation and not going to happen,
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: And not not DeAndre Hopkins, like not the guys that
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: are obvious because there's no one saw a tire killer
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: AJ Brown getting traded like that. Those both came out
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: of Who's the guy that comes out of nowhere that
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: all of a a sudden is unhappy with the situation and
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: wants out. That to me is they are now in
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: a position the Patriots that they need to be ultra
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: aggressive for that player if somebody at that caliber moves
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: this offseason, and then they should be squarely in the mix.
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: And the only reason why they should lose out on
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: that player is if they somehow get grossly outbit But
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: at the fourteenth pick in the draft, Like, if you're
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: trading a first round pick, that's a pretty good first
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: round pick to trade. I don't know if a lot
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: of teams in the top ten are trading first round
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: picks for wide receivers because they're not just a wide
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: receiver away at this point. Not that the Patriots are,
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: but you know, you catch my draft, So I think
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: that's a pretty good asset. So Deuce would not only
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: not be interested in trading the first round pick for T. Higgins,
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: he's not interested in just switching spots with Cincinnati in
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: the first round for T. Higgins. Well, I mean to
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: which I would say with Cincinnati on crack, all they
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: want is just to switch spots in the first round
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: to get to give up to Higgins. I don't know
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: if they're trading to Higgins. I know I don't think
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: they are, ead so right now, I'm buying into some
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: of the narratives out of Cincinnati since they lost two
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: weeks ago. Yeah, like, I think they feel like they're
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: pretty close. I think they like it what they have
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: going and they're gonna write it out. I thought I
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: thought I saw Higgins say something that I've talked to
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: Burrow about how he wants to structure his deal to
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: keep everybody to get like those I didn't even see that,
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: but that's would be another I think that'd be another factor.
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: It was either Chaser Higgins who said that, but they
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: both kind of mentioned that Burrow was going to try
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: to be as team friendly as he possibly could with
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: the contracts so they could keep everybody together. But like
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: just in a vacuum, you know, we've been talking about
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: T Higgins for so long. They bring it out to
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: do something on EI and it was posed to him
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: if Cincinnati was interested in saying, you know, swapping you know,
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: going from you, you know, you'd go from whatever you
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: take their first and you switch spots, switch first round
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: picks for T. Higgins, would you, Dad, Michaels, No, And
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: I'm like, well, like you wouldn't drop ten spots in
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: the draft for T. Higgins. All right, Well, I didn't
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: hear that part of the question where they actually said
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: the conversation I would, I mean, sorry, maybe whatever. But
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: my response was and it was kind of what Evans saying,
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: the same kind of thing is that saying, I think T.
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: Higgins is a little bit more of that outside guy.
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: I don't. I'd rather just you know. And part of
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: it was just trying to make some radio fodder too,
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: because I know that's what Andy had written, because everybody
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: is so convinced, like, and I agree with Evans saying
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: I don't want mac Jones leading the league in deep throws.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: I don't want that, but he can be very productive
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: on the outside. And it doesn't have to like it
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: doesn't have to be a slot receiver, it doesn't have
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: to be five yard throws all day. Let's talk back
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: to the phone's Rashad and Baltimore Harris shot, how are
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: you hey? What's up? What's up? I had I just
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: had a two things about the draft. The avan all right, Evan,
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: um um, I'm not going I'm not gonna say. I'm
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: not gonna say who the ray? I mean, who the um?
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: The Patriots ship pick at a pick fourteen. But the
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: two players that I like, I like the cornerback from Maryland,
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: Deontay bank Thick too. I saw a few games of Maryland.
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: He looked he looked solid, and I feel like, I mean,
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: we definitely need another corner. I know John Jones, he's
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: not a number one corner, but he I mean he's
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: He's a solid corner. He's a solid slot corner. So
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: I think we should keep him. I don't know what
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: they're gonna pay him, but I think we should keep him.
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: But we definitely should add another corner. And while I
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: receive my guy, Jordan Addison, I'm gonna keep pushing for
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: him every time. Yeah, the dream is to see him
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: in a Patriots uniform, uh, you know, getting passed from
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: Mac Jones because I think I think he's next up.
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: I think he's gonna be I think he's gonna be
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: a superstar. I love Jordan and Addison too. I think
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: Jordan Addison is um Jackson Smith and Jabe was my guy,
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: but I would have Jordan Adison number two on my
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: wish list. He's DeVante Smith. He's really close to that
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: type of player. Uh, can can do it all. I
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: love him too, um the Maryland corner. I actually just
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: I don't know much about Actually just watched him yesterday
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: because he's been moving up the big boards and everything
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: like that into the top fifty and creeping up. And
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: I watched him against Ohio State, and he was like
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: the only guy in that Maryland secondary that looked like
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: he belonged on the field with Ohio States receivers. And
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: he's a really physical corner at the line of scrimmage,
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: like press man, get in your face. And he had
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: a jam on one of their receivers. It was in
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: Marvin Harrison Junior, but it was one of their other
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: guys where the guy couldn't even get off the line
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: of scrimmage because he just jammed him so hard that
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: he was just held up completely at the line of scrimmage.
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: Really physical, big outside corner, like exactly what they could need.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: I I have some hesitations, you know, stiffness and long
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: speed and things like that. That's why I like Brands
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: from Kansas State because he's really loose, fluid guy at
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: that size. But I liked what I saw from Banks.
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: I was really impressed. I think that's the hard thing
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: is is we get into the draft is you have
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: those three tackles, you know, tackles, any three guys who
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: were all good top left tackle prospects, but you don't
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: know if you're gonna even get a shot at those three.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: And I mean, I think you're right with Scarnzi, but
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: it's you know, and then you have Addison and Smith
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: na Jig but like a little bit lower. So you're
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: a little bit in that void of like, you know,
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: you don't really want to trade down to your earlier point,
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: but at the same time, it's it's just we know
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: we need Is there a guy that fits right there perfectly?
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: I don't know. It's it's it's not easy to to
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: just size it. That's why they dismissed the trade down scenarios.
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: Oh I wouldn't because because I do think that you
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: could be stuck in a place where you don't want
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: to be, which is that pocket of we missed out
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: on all the real premier talent, but we're not we're
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: too early for some of these secondary guys that we like.
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: I think that there is a possibility that that happens,
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: and if that does happen, then you have to entertain
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: a trade down scenario at that point. One more little
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: bit of Patriot news I forgot to mention, which came
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: out with Peter King yesterday was packing. It sounds like
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: the Patriots and Kansas City are going to play back
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: to back weeks in early November in Germany and presumably Frankfurt,
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: I believe. So that was report from Peter King. So
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: it looks like we'll be heading there out to Germany.
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: I don't know if we will be, but hopefully maybe.
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: But how to get pass There were the Chiefs as well,
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: and then too, so yeah, that's the only thing this week.
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: The Chiefs will not be the opponent, because I know
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: there's been some confusion about that. We had an ASPFW
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: this week. The Chiefs are also hosting a game in Germany,
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: but it will not be the Patriots involved. Both the
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: Patriots in the Chiefs will be hosting separate games in Germany.
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: A lot of people got confused about that. I was
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: confused for a minute, but then it said back to
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: back weeks, and I'm like, well, that's going to be
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: two different games then, of course, but they will be
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: here so we'll get a chance to see how the
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: Patriots matchup. Checking in with the emails here Jack and Anaba.
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: The offensive tackle the Patriots might want may not be
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: available at the fourteenth pick. In that case, the patch
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: should pick a game wrecker, a defensive line linebrecker, or
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: wide receiver. The point is the patch that select a
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: game changer with the fourteenth pick. I think we're all
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: on board with that. I think just the question is,
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: if it's not a receiver, a cornerback, or a tackle,
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: what you know, what position might they surprise you with?
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: Seen a lot of was it Brian Branch from from
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: Alabama who is like just looks like one of their
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: strong safety Kyle Dugger types? But how many times can
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: you draft that guy? Like how many strong safeties and
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: box safeties d and need, especially at that where you're
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: just it just feels redundant. And Paul hits this point
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: all the time, like does it make you better? Like
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: does that move like it maybe makes you a little
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: bit better than Kyle Dugger if you really believe that
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: somebody like that is better. But just like moves like that,
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: I'm like, hit the positions you need, Yeah, I mean,
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: positions are kind of interesting to talk about in the
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: first In the first round, you know, like, um, what's
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: uh Why am I blanket on Baltimore Notre Dame Kyle Hamilton? Yeah, yes, okay, um,
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: pretty well rounded guy. You know, it was a pretty
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: well thought of prospect, even him, like I think he's
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: pretty good. Kind of took him half a season to
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: kind of get settled in and make an impact. Now
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: that's a pretty good defense that, you know, and in Baltimore,
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: you know, is probably not the easiest transition. But I
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: think he was pretty good coming out of Notre Dame,
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: and he was right around that time. If I'm not mistaken,
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: it's probably we're fourteen. I mean, I don't know exactly
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: what he was taken, but probably in between the twelve
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: twelve to sixteen range dropped out to the combine because
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: it didn't run as fast as people thought. So I
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: just think that's sometimes those positions can be tricky. And
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: there have been a handful of safeties taken pretty high,
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: and I can't really remember a lot of them being
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: home runs. I think Darwin's probably the only one. James
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: obviously home Yeah, And I think Brian Branches that he's
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: that type of guy, not Derwin good, but just he's
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: more of that Kyle Dugger than he is Devin McCarry. Now,
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: I don't hate the idea of them trying to build
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: it like Jordan Poyer and Mike High where you have
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: two interchangeable safeties, especially in the day and age of
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: disguise and all that kind of stuff, where now all
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: of a sudden you have which one's back, which one's for,
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: like you don't know, and they're kind of basically the
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: same guy. But if one of them can't play true
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: center field, then it really takes away from that set
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: skising because then you're kind of putting a guy in
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: a bad spot by putting him in the middle of
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: the field. So those two guys are rare because they
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: can both play center field. That you have to have
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: a little bit of that in your game to be
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: truly interchangeable. Any thoughts on the defensive front, guys like
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: I mean the Clemson guys. So I watched a guy
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: from Texas Tech, Tyree Wilson yesterday who's six six, two
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: eighty defensive end that as as powerful of a prospect
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: on the defensive line, Like this guy collapses the pocket
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: like that's his whole thing. He's long, he's heavy handed,
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: super powerful guy. I could see them loving him just
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: because of the versatility, can stand up, he can play
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: with his hand in the dirt on the end of
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: the line. He's a true strong side edge player too,
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: like not a Jude On or an uj who wants
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: to come off the back side. Like he can play
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: that that combination of the tight end and in the
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: tackle and things like that really well, So maybe you
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: go that direction. It's not a great off ball linebacker class.
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: You're not really getting into off ball linebackers until you
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: get more into the twenties and into day two. Um,
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: but a couple of the guys up front, like they
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: could use one though and second third rounder. Yeah, there's
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: a couple of them, you know. I think the guy
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: from Oregon, Noah Swell, is kind of like an on
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: and off type of guy. Um, he can play a
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: little bit of both, but I've seen him sort of
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: be in the late twenties. He related to the tackle
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: ye brothers, their brothers. Yeah, I'm bad with that kind
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: of stuff. Well, just because he went to Oregon, I
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: would just say he's kind of that Kyle van noy
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: Dante high tower hybrid type of player. I'm not saying
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: he plays exactly like those two, but can play on
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: and off the line. So I think that there's some
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: front seven guys that will be they'll be interested in
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: in the draft. Henry to too from Alabama. Just whenever
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: there's a good front seven player from Alabama, you gotta
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: put him on the list. He's another one of those
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: types of guys. Yeah. Yeah, but that's this is all
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: to me. Uh, I think you're getting into my apologize.
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: I think it's two apostrophes. Actually, his name's right. Here's
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: an email from Dan and Lynchburg. I like this idea.
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: What about Cooper Cup. He'll turn thirty in June. He's
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: signed through twenty twenty six about fourteen point three million
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: per year. Rams are fifteen million over the cap head
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: in the off season, may have to make some tough
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: personality decisions. How will they get under the Cuba? Could
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: we take I take a and then we can bring
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: you know, prime Randy Moss back from retiring. Come on,
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: it's his birthday. Everybody would take Cooper Cup of course,
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: because he's wicked awesome. I like the Rams are going
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: to say that from Scott, New Jersey is and I mean,
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: this is a good question. I think the Evans point,
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: like why can't we trade up? Like what you know,
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: like I mean and I don't even care. He's his
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: point is like trade up from fourteen to go up
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: and you know, actually get especially if this is true
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: that the prices aren't, Like let's get the twenty twelve draft.
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: We always hold that up as like the grand you know, hey,
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: this is what we had to do. You know, get
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: a couple picks, take take fourteen, trade back up, take
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: somebody else in the twenties and get you know that
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: town those quarterbacks end up, you know, going off the board,
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: Like if you end up I mean, we know stroud
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: In and Young, but like if it ends up with
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: like Richardson and Levis and some of these other guys
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: that maybe what's the five first round picks and one
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: of missing those four are the consensus? What if those
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: guys end up going in the top ten. I know
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: that's a stretch, but still, like all of a sudden,
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: there's two or three players that you didn't expect to
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: be available at at eleven that are available. Maybe you
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: love one of them, Yeah, go get them. I wish,
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: I mean just to get packed up now into you know,
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: like just the aggressive the aggressive draft mentality. I thought
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: it was back in you know, when they took Mac
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: in twenty twenty. I need to see the stack. I
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: actually could care less about the on field workouts for
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: the tackles, but the measurements I think matters a little
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: bit to me. In this one with Roderick Jones and Scarnsky.
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: Scaransky's arm length is a big concern. Some reports out
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: there and say that he only has thirty two inch arms,
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: which is guard like you had. Like, you know, there's
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: very few tackles that make it under thirty three. That's
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: like sort of the threshold for franchise tackles. Then there's
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: Rodert Jones, who's also kind of undersized for tackle. It's
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: not like full Isaiah Win. I know people are gonna
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: make that comparison because of Georgia. But he's six to four,
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: you know, three hundred right, Like he's not this one
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: of these big prototypes. Paris Johnson from Ohio states the prototype,
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: that guy's gonna be six six three ten, you know,
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: great length, great athleticism. That's the left tackle and you
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: know made in a lab. So let me ask you.
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: So Scronsky, you're there, they let you hold the tape measure,
- 1:56:28Speaker 1: it's thirty two point five. What would you do? Would
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: you take him off your would you take him off
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: your board? Can I call Dante and ask him, like, no,
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: I would have happen. Is it's a great I wouldn't
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: take him off the board because he is He's he's
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: one of those guys that and I'm not like saying
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: to toot anybody's horn at my own horn. But like,
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: when I started watching him, I was like, this is
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: the guy that everybody's saying is a lock top fifteen pick.
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: But then once you get into the film with him,
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: You're like, oh my goodness, this guy doesn't make a mistake.
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: He's never in the wrong place. He you know, they're
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: sending blitz is sim pressures at him, and he's picking
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: up the guy that he needs to pick up every
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: single time. He's always he's just so technically and fundamentally
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: sound that I don't know if like an inch being
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: off of his arms is really gonna gonna make a difference,
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: because he's got it between the ears and he's got
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: great feet, So I don't know. I don't really I'm
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: not a big arm length guy, Like I'm not like, oh,
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: we gotta take this guy off the board. But obviously
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: it's it's football, and your boy was definitely not a
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: beauro that stuff is way and he didn't say stuff
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: is way overrated, right, um, And I know Evan's right
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: because we just went through this with Win. Yeah, he
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: was a little shorter and his arms were a little
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: shorter and he didn't work out right. But Matt Light
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: was kind of in that boat. A lot of people
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: thought he was a guard. So I think, sir, he's
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: gonna measure out more like Matt Light than Isaiah Win. Well,
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: they both I think if I Isaiah looked U up,
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: I think they had similar size arms. They did, but
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: Matt Light was a little bit taller like length like
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: actually not biceps like actually height wise was a little bit.
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: They didn't get their swoll on out. If you just
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: clip like like Evans last like four sentences on, it's
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: the most bizarre radio. I don't want you want every
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: half inch he can get. It's really between his years.
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: Isaiah Win was is an undersized offensive lineman, Like no
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: matter where you put him, he's undersized. That's that was
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: the problem with him, And I think people are gonna
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: get caught up in that. But like Scronsky's six five,
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: three fifteen, he's not undersized every He's just got shorter arms.
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: Like it's just a little nitpicky thing about him. It's
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: not like Isaiah Win was short with short arms and
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: he was underweight, like it was he played the left
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: side sky Yeah, So like, would that maybe translate to
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: a switch to the right side if I think you could,
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: I would leave him at left tackle until he fails. Like,
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: if he fails at left tackle, then we can start
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: talking about flip banger moving him inside and about him
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: is like, I mean, he's been so good at left
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: house McGlinchey and draft him. Yeah, and that's you'll let
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: Trent Brown all right? Last question here, Alan Texas. I
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: thought this is a good, good, little wrap up. Now
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: that the season is over, what are your feelings on
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: this past NFL season? It felt to me the product
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: on field was not that good. I watched the NFL
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: all season long and look forward to it every year.
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: The majority of games were just not that good in
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: my opinion. The other area that seemed really bad was officiating.
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: Do you all feel the same Goodell doesn't feel the
- 1:59:30Speaker 1: same good. I mean I largely do feel the same,
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: and I try not to be the get off my
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: lawn guy, I really try. I just feel like it.
- 1:59:38Speaker 1: I feel like this almost every year recently, Like the
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: caliber of the games doesn't consistently stack up. Now there
- 1:59:48Speaker 1: are I thought the Super Bowl, did yeh? Super Bowl
- 1:59:51Speaker 1: was terrific. Um. You know, I think back to last
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: year with that Kansas City Buffalo, that whole division around weekend,
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: you know, the San Francisco Dallas game, the Kansas City
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: Buffalo game. Those were great games. Cincinnati would they beat
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: was a Tennessee in the divisional round? The last field goal? Yeah,
- 2:00:09Speaker 1: I mean there was like Baltimore. There were like four
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: games that went down to like the last play of
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: the game. Yeah. So I think there are times that
- 2:00:18Speaker 1: the game is better. I thought, I thought Kansas City
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: in Philadelphia, I would put Buffalo in Cincinnati in there
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: in San Francisco when there those were the five best
- 2:00:28Speaker 1: teams in football. Yeah, and you had two of them
- 2:00:30Speaker 1: playing in the championship. Like, maybe it wasn't a great
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: year for the league in general, and I would certainly
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: agree with the officiating. I would push back a little
- 2:00:39Speaker 1: on Dodge, but I thought they were the best teams,
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: and that was a good representation, he said. I think
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: for me, just think I had such high expectations for
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: so many of the moves, especially in the AFC West.
- 2:00:49Speaker 1: A lot of the teams that made those moves that
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: that didn't really pan out, and at the end of
- 2:00:53Speaker 1: the day, it was still just kind of the same teams.
- 2:00:54Speaker 1: You knew Baltimore was in it when Lamar was healthy,
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: and you know, otherwise it was kind of predictable. They
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: signed Todd munkin today for their offensive coordinator, by the way,
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: so it'd be interesting to see what he can do
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: with Lamar, assuming Lamar stays. Lamar's back. That's the biggest
- 2:01:10Speaker 1: takeaway from me, you know, just to pick offense like
- 2:01:13Speaker 1: and how it's schemed, and to sit what we sat
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: through with the Patriots, and then to watch some of
- 2:01:18Speaker 1: these teams that were in the playoffs, you know, Andy
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: Reid and the Philly staff, and I think that they
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: have really evolved offense, like to the point where some
- 2:01:30Speaker 1: of these like motion things that they're using and stuff
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: like that. It's just how defenses are going to start
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: to build in like checks and things like that to
- 2:01:38Speaker 1: combat some of these things. Is going to be really
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: fascinating because some of the crazy things that they're doing
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: now with you know your eyes and the motion's coming here,
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: but then it's coming back over there. It's like there's
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: so much going on pre snap and in the first
- 2:01:53Speaker 1: kind of steps of the play that defenses are going
- 2:01:56Speaker 1: to have to figure out a way to start checking
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: some of these things and passing them off for doing
- 2:02:02Speaker 1: something different to combat some of those different things that
- 2:02:05Speaker 1: teams are doing. So it's it's exciting to watch these
- 2:02:08Speaker 1: teams on film and how how they are able to
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: scheme guys open and things like that. Makes you you
- 2:02:13Speaker 1: wish that that that happened more right here, you wish
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: you do wish All right, that's gonna do it for us.
