- Simeon Schlicher: my gosh. Well played, Robert. Micaiah: Got it in, I think. Roberto Con Queso: That's what she said. Micaiah: it is mostly college football. We are back in better than ever. The three amigos back again. I'm Captain Boring alongside my two other co hosts, Roberto Conqueso and aka aka. He is back from being at the shore. Gang gang. Welcome back, everyone. It is mostly. College football. we thank you for being here. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and share. we used to be Fourth One podcast, but we have since rebranded and we are now Simeon Schlicher: Let's go. Micaiah: mostly college football, which pretty much is simple and concise about what we are. Boys, how are we doing today? Simeon Schlicher: Mostly college football dot com. Let's go. Roberto Con Queso: Feeling feeling crazy. Micaiah: Feeling crazy. Simeon Schlicher: By the way, if you go to that website, you won't find anything. We just own the domain too. So you can't have it. You can't. Micaiah: All right. You can't have it. You can't have it. No. There's there's a soundbite or something in there. Simeon Schlicher: I feel like there is. Micaiah: boys, we are 18 days away from college football. It is very exciting. It is three and a half weeks. Simeon Schlicher: That's three and a half weeks. That's well, sorry, work weeks. That is that is two and a half weeks if I actually do regular days. Micaiah: This coming Saturday we will be two Saturdays away from August twenty ninth, which is week zero, which Simeon Schlicher: Go week zero, aka Bill Belichick's beatdown. Micaiah: I don't know. We'll we'll have to see. Simeon Schlicher: I don't know who he's playing actually, so that could be totally wrong. Micaiah: He's playing North Carolina. Thanks for paying attention. Simeon Schlicher: No no, he w coaches for North Carolina. Who does he who is he who's he playing? That's who I thought he was playing, so maybe. Roberto Con Queso: He is North Carolina. Thanks for paying attention. Micaiah: He is north. He's he he's TCU. He's playing TCU. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Saman, you have a new fan, by the way. Simeon Schlicher: I do? Micaiah: yeah, a guy in our dynasty. his name is Cody. Shout out Cody if he listens to Simeon Schlicher: Shout out Cody. Micaiah: this. he is he loved your pick of the Sooners in the SEC title game. So he big fan. He rolls with you now. That's what he said. Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: I see. I see. I see. Just because I just didn't want to pick who's probably actually gonna win. Micaiah: Yeah, yeah, but we're not here for that. Simeon Schlicher: Cody will let them believe. Micaiah: Robert, a quick update on the social front. You're still hated by LSU fans. Simeon Schlicher: Are we more hated by LSU fans? Roberto Con Queso: listen. I will take that every day. Simeon Schlicher: Mm-hmm. Micaiah: Simand to answer your question about the same as it was two weeks ago. Simeon Schlicher: We need more hatred. Micaiah: I I d I don't know what to tell ya. They're they're they're a dense c they're a dense fan base. Simeon Schlicher: I don't see lady lady Roberto Con Queso: What? Simeon Schlicher: that's putting them mildly. It's hot. Okay. It's sweaty. They're they're actually, yeah. they there's not much in between there because they're spending most of their energy sweating. listen, when Makaiah and Robert went off on LSU last last week, I wasn't here to defend myself. And by defend myself, I mean absolutely pour it on in a way that I actually did in the group chat. So I feel left out now. of our it's really to put Robert's Lane Kiffin and therefore LSU administration, because that's really more what it is, hatred. We don't hate the players. We hate the game that they're being forced to play. So here we are. Micaiah: d do you wanna jump in with your hatred or or you got any fa Simeon Schlicher: No, no, no. I was just wanting Roberto Con Queso: What was Simeon Schlicher: to make sure that I was on record as Micaiah: okay. Simeon Schlicher: full not even full I am captaining this boat of LSU Lane Kiffin hatred. Micaiah: I know that the arguments that I really hate online that a lot I see a lot of people doing it. It's not just with this LSU thing, but that's what I'm talking about because that's where I get it from, is Rob, like, you know, I'll drop a clip about, hey, Lane Kiffin, he was 11 and 24 versus, you know, the top 25 at his time and it'll miss and someone will comment. That's 34%. How would you how so I'm guessing that you're gonna say that then you're concerned about Kyle Whittingham being thirty eight percent against the top twenty five. And I'm like, that has nothing we're not talking about Kyle Whittingham right now. Or they'll bring up the fan base, you know, they'll be like, Michigan fans know nothing about college football. And I'm meanwhile, it's the clip of you saying they're and five versus Alabama. So so now we're just we don't know how to read? I don't know. Roberto Con Queso: Well, no one ever said you go to an SEC school for an education. Micaiah: Well that Amen, brother. Amen. Simeon Schlicher: Go targets. Roberto Con Queso: Big ten big ten schools are the smart schools. Everyone knows this. Simeon Schlicher: Okay, that's not true. Roberto Con Queso: Most of the big ten schools are the smart schools. Simeon Schlicher: I'll allow it. also it's the ACC now just because they're they're not the ACC. They're the they're not the USA either, but they're the USA, you know? Micaiah: I have no idea what you talk Roberto Con Queso: You know what? Agree. Simeon Schlicher: They go coast to coast. They have Cal and Stanford now. Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: Ha that's not man. For the record Yeah, I mean for the for Micaiah: Well we have we have we have Rutgers and USC and UCLA. Simeon Schlicher: for the record, Micaiah is not the smartest cookie in the jar either, so Micaiah: Hey, I may be stupid, but I'm not an idiot. All right. Well, you know what? Sure. Simeon Schlicher: qu can I ask one question before I let you actually host? Roberto Con Queso: Come on. Micaiah: Sure. That was gonna be a great segue, but go ahead. You can interrupt. Simeon Schlicher: I'm gonna segue it anyway. Do you think after the thirty-five million dollars that Northwestern will get over the next three years, they'll be s somewhat Micaiah: that big donation. Simeon Schlicher: competitive in their football program? Their new stadium Micaiah: Never. Simeon Schlicher: looks hot. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. They'll be competitive. Micaiah: Yeah, I would have to assume. They're they're that's a too smart of a school for there not to be some rich people to give that to give money to that program. And if Indiana has taught you one thing, it's money changes everything, right? Roberto Con Queso: I mean, they're still gonna be like a middle of the road Big Ten team. Like they're not gonna be a they're not gonna become a powerhouse. Micaiah: I mean, we would have said the same thing about Indiana, right? Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, but Indiana has a good coach. Simeon Schlicher: Did did I miss Chip Kelly getting hired as the offensive coordinator at Northwestern? Micaiah: Yeah, you've missed a lot of things. Simeon Schlicher: I know I missed a lot of things, but that was last year. This happened this year, darn it. Micaiah: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Robert, would you have said that Kirk Zanetti was a good coach before he took the Indiana job? Roberto Con Queso: Well, he was a good coach at JMU. Micaiah: Right, but d did you did you really think yeah, they Roberto Con Queso: I wouldn't yeah, I wouldn't go and say, he's de him going into Indiana, like there was no inkling from any soul on earth other than himself that would have said or or Simeon who would have said, Yeah, Indiana's gonna win a national championship. But who's he who's Northwestern's coach? Doesn't matter. They're not gonna win a national championship because Micaiah: yeah. Simeon Schlicher: I don't even I can't even David Braun. Roberto Con Queso: because not o there's Kirk Signetti, you have Ryan Day, you have you know, whatever you want to call that LSU coach, the the waste of money down there. Simeon Schlicher: Brian Kelly. Micaiah: Yeah. Toxic relationship. Nope, Lane Kiffin, bud. Simeon Schlicher: I wasn't sure who we were talking about there. They both were wastes of money. Micaiah: fun fact of the day. Do you know the last time Purdue, do you know who which team Purdue hasn't let me start over? I'm gonna start over. Okay. Roberto Con Queso: Yep, let's hear it. Let's hear it. Simeon Schlicher: Folks Micaiah: Purdue hasn't won a Big Ten game in two years. Do you know who was the last Big Ten team that they beat was? Roberto Con Queso: I see. Simeon Schlicher: Was it northwestern? Micaiah: no, they beat Indiana. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: Well I guess that makes sense 'cause Indiana was bad three years ago. Micaiah: Indiana was really bad three years ago. Okay. Roberto Con Queso: So that checks out. Micaiah: you know who's also really bad? But they're trying to get better. And that would be the Akron Zips. they are not very good, and they are not very good at football, so therefore their crowds aren't very full. So, what are they doing to try to get money into the football program through ticket sales? Is they are going to let you. Script the opening drive of the home opener, which is week two of the college football season. It is a brilliant idea. You're going to come into practice that week. You are going to be able to be on the sideline press box with a headset and a clipboard. Joe Moorhead, the head coach of at Akron, want Simeon Schlicher: There it is. Micaiah: wants you to bring in a playbook full of plays. And then they'll kinda see what matches up and they'll let you script the opening drive. And here's the thing. Season tickets are only seventy-five dollars. Simeon Schlicher: You you miss it that was a great read, Makai, except for the fact that you missed the part that you have to be a season tick hold season ticket holder in order to be entered to win this drawing. Their suites Micaiah: Yeah, yeah. Well, well okay, fair. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you have to be a season ticket holder. Simeon Schlicher: have sold out for the first time ever. Roberto Con Queso: So did you see the other article where week two, their home opener is against Robert Morris out of Pennsylvania? Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Go kernels. Roberto Con Queso: They were ch a lot of RMU fans were trying to buy season tickets. Because in theory, Micaiah: no. Roberto Con Queso: our Robert Morris should not be Akron. In theory. So they Micaiah: Right. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: wanted to sabotage. Akron's first Micaiah: Mm. Roberto Con Queso: drive to try and get a leg up. Micaiah: I I would assume there's like a workaround of that. I would assume. Roberto Con Queso: I I mean I would assume I would also assume that there's no way this goes well other than we're throwing double passes and flea flickers and fake punts on first and ten. Micaiah: Bob, w w what does your opening script look like? Simeon Schlicher: Great question, Mikhail. Roberto Con Queso: You know what? First off, depends where we start. We get a kick off if we get a kick return all the way down to the opponent's one yard line, I t I will not go from shotgun. I will go from right underneath center and Simeon Schlicher: Mm-hmm. Roberto Con Queso: a QB sneak. I know it's a crazy play 'cause no one else in college football could figure that out, but that's what I would do. Other than that, Micaiah: Okay, but Roberto Con Queso: hey, other than that, it's a deep shot. You got a good deep shot. Open up open up the sky. Spin the bean. I don't know how g I don't know how good Akron's Simeon Schlicher: So okay, so let's let's do this, Robert. You know the average Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, right Simeon Schlicher: is starting about on the twenty five or the thirty five, whatever it is now. So let's assume kick back of the end zone. You're starting at your own. Is it twenty five or the it Okay. Twenty Micaiah: It doesn't matter, just save twenty five. Simeon Schlicher: five. You can script this. What do you actually Roberto Con Queso: Okay, first play first play Statue of Liberty. Statue of Liberty. Let's catch him off guard right off the bat. Cause the defense has to know something crazy is going to happen in the first drive. It's a fan who's scripting the plays. It's not an actual offensive coordinator. So you Micaiah: Yeah. Right. Roberto Con Queso: gotta come out. Statue of Liberty, first play. Second play, quarterback sneak. You're not you're not gonna see either one. Simeon Schlicher: From where? Is it is it like a QB draw sort of situation or is it like literally under sender tush push? Roberto Con Queso: under center. Under center. Under center we're going. Question. Go ahead. Micaiah: Quick quick question. If the Statue of Liberty was an incomplete, you still run in the quarterback sneak on second down? Okay. All right. Roberto Con Queso: Yes. Yes. Second and ten. Yeah, w nothing changes. We just keep going. Simeon Schlicher: So so it's so okay, so with the first two plays, you're at f third and five probably. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, so if we're going third and five, knowing that we're probably not gonna get anywhere else out of this, I might just have the quarterback drop back to the set like stand seven yards back and just pooch kick it. Just to get just to get us down there. Micaiah: my goodness. Simeon Schlicher: You act like they are a high school football program that has no idea what they're doing. Roberto Con Queso: Brother, brother. Micaiah: I mean that's not that far from the truth though. Simeon Schlicher: They're better than Purdue. Micaiah: I I don't know if they are. Roberto Con Queso: Hmm. Simeon Schlicher: Stat statistic statistically speaking, the Akron zips are better in the past three years than the Purdue Boilermaker. Micaiah: Are they? Didn't they have like a didn't they loot go like one and eleven recently? Simeon Schlicher: I mean, yeah, but so did Purdue. Roberto Con Queso: I mean so yeah. Micaiah: Alright, we're gonna look this up. Hold on. Roberto Con Queso: I mean either that or you just or you just gotta come out, spread everyone out. Micaiah: Five Y. Roberto Con Queso: I'm well I would I don't think I would go five wide 'cause Simeon Schlicher: five verts. Roberto Con Queso: no, I would I would want a I would want a running back with me. So maybe we'll go trips trips with a running back. But my running back is not my running back. My running back is actually my offensive guard. Micaiah: my gosh. Roberto Con Queso: We we are gonna earn some yards today, baby. Micaiah: Simeon, you are right. In the last three seasons they are two and ten, four and eight, and seven and five. Simeon Schlicher: I am not just a pretty face. Micaiah: Simeon, what are what are you doing to script the opening drive? Simeon Schlicher: Okay. Because I'm a normal human being, it's obviously Micaiah: Mm-hmm. Simeon Schlicher: now I don't know what I I I don't know. Let's assume they're running some sort of weird college style offense, right? They're not running some pro style or, you know, air raid or whatever. so it's obviously what is it? Inside zone. Inside zone left. Okay, Micaiah: Yep. Okay. Simeon Schlicher: inside zone right. Micaiah: huh. And now you're at third and two fourth and two. Simeon Schlicher: No, no, no. That was two downs. We're at third and two. Micaiah: I I'm sorry. It was left and you said inside zone, inside zone. Okay. So it's inside zone left. Inside zone right. Yeah. Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: Inside zone left. Inside zone right. Okay. You gotta you gotta keep them on. little play action with a kick out on the tight end. That gets me a first down. Okay. Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: There's your first three plays, and I'm not gonna bore you with just thinking it and dunking it down the field. Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: But eventually, but then it's gonna probably be like another run left, you know, then like a like a jet sweep kind of motion or try to get spread them out, then try to do a play action with something a little bit over the top or across the field. Micaiah: I'm doing a double pass. Roberto Con Queso: That is the most bo see, thank you, Makai. Thanks for spicing it up. Like, it's Akron. This game Micaiah: No, no, no. Roberto Con Queso: come on. Micaiah: I'm gonna start with an inside zone, but then as but then I might go to the double pass. I gotta see. I gotta see. Like I I at least need three yards. Get three yards first down because then I feel accomplished. I said, listen, I called a play that gained some yardage at the college football role. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. I wanna know if this team has any cojones. Micaiah: So you're gonna use your backup left guard? Simeon Schlicher: So you're gonna pooch kick? Micaiah: So you're gonna pooch kick on third down? Roberto Con Queso: Well yeah. Yeah, I'll pooch I'll pooch kick on third and eight if we don't get there. Just to advance the advance the game here. Simeon Schlicher: On third and eight. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, just advance the game. We're not throwing the ball. Micaiah: Ga we're on ESPN plus Simeon Schlicher: Well, Micaiah: at three thirty. This game needs to end quickly. It it it is on ESPN plus at three thirty. Simeon Schlicher: Is this game actually on ESPN Plus at three thirty? It's gonna be the most watched Roberto Con Queso: Hey because Simeon Schlicher: ESP for the first five Roberto Con Queso: let's be honest. Simeon Schlicher: minutes is gonna be the most Micaiah: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: watched ESPN Plus game ever. Roberto Con Queso: Let's be honest. You're gonna call that first drive and you're leaving the game. You're not staying. Simeon Schlicher: a hundred per You don't get you they're probably walking you back to wherever your season tickets are. Roberto Con Queso: So I'm already going to dread the whole process Micaiah: No, you get to be Roberto Con Queso: up to it. Micaiah: you get to be on the field or in the booth the whole game, it said. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, so you I'm so Simeon Schlicher: that's nice. Roberto Con Queso: I'm gonna dread the whole process up to this. Simeon Schlicher: Also, if you're scripting it, you're probably not calling the place. You i yeah yeah. It's like I Micaiah: No, no, no. They're not gonna let you call the place 'cause you don't know the verbiage. Simeon Schlicher: it you write it down and you read it. You can talk in mat you can honestly talk in Roberto Con Queso: Run the ball right throw the ball. Micaiah: Running back dive. And Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: the quarterback's like, okay, we need more than that. We need the blocking assignments. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: You're just yelling yelling in a helmet and it's like tell everyone block straight, give them the ball. On two. Micaiah: Have they ever tried like just running straight instead of sideways? I I would call an inside zone. My running back would try to get shifty in the whole dude. I am lighting his ass up on the sideline when he comes in. I'm being like Simeon Schlicher: You you're Micaiah: downhill, buddy. North Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: and south. We're not east and west. I'm turning into Nick Saban. Simeon Schlicher: He would he would look at you like, Who the heck is this guy? Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. You Micaiah: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: just just some dude on the sideline, you're like, I'm sorry. I didn't know that the end zone was over there in the stands or it was over there. Simeon Schlicher: Did we did we call HP sweep or did we? Micaiah: Yeah. I'm throwing visors, I'm throwing my headset, Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: my clipboard's going 20 yards into the air. I am just Roberto Con Queso: It's got one sheet of paper on it. Micaiah: yeah. Yeah, wanting to sheet a blank piece of paper. Roberto Con Queso: You're you're get like you're getting thrown out of the game. Yeah. Micaiah: yeah, yeah. Joe Moorhead's gotta be like, get this guy out of here. I know he won the contest, but get him out of here. All right. so we would have some fun with that. So whoever the winner is, I will be intrigued to see what that opening script is. It will be the most watched Akron Simon, you're a hundred percent correct game or first fifteen minutes. Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: game probably all s all s all season. But I'm saying more ESPN plus is yeah, yeah. ESPN plus is so trash it'll be the most streaming they've had on that. Yeah, in a good hot second. Micaiah: For for sure, for sure. All right. We are going to play a little game with the season approaching here, cause you know, we're almost there. We're about two weeks away from being able to preview games and talk about games. Next week will kind of be the last, you know, preview season week before we get into things. So here's what we're gonna do we are going to play ceiling and floor, and I do love this game. And I think it's underutilized in the podcast space because I know all there is to know about hosting a successful podcast. Follow along all season on mostly college football to find out why that is false. All right, so here's everywhere, everywhere you get your podcasts. Simeon Schlicher: Everywhere. It's not different places. Guys, we got a name and it's mostly college football and that's what you search and then you find us. Hi, I'm Simeon. Micaiah: Yes. hi, I'm Almo. Hi, I'm Paul. That's the soundbite, actually. all right. There we go. All right. So here's how this works. Robert, I'm gonna give you a team and Roberto Con Queso: Let's hear it. Micaiah: and you're gonna look over their schedule. Dude, it's way off the rails already, and we're only 20 minutes in. you're gonna look over their schedule and you're gonna say, you're gonna give me the ceiling of their record and then the floor. Right? Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Yeah. Micaiah: So Let let's start you off with Miami. The Miami hurricanes coming into this season. Roberto Con Queso: Miami Hurricanes. Now I already I did look at their schedule, but I want to bring it back up. just to confirm my thoughts here. I have their ceiling at a eleven and one, Micaiah: Okay. Roberto Con Queso: which I think is pretty respectable for them. Micaiah: I would think so with that roster. Roberto Con Queso: Yep, yep, yep, yep. but their floor I have them as ten and two, so there's not too too much a difference between their floor and ceiling. However, depending on where those losses somewhat fall, that could be very detrimental. Micaiah: who in their ceiling eleven and one, who are they losing to? Roberto Con Queso: Notre Dame. Micaiah: Notre Dame. Okay. All right. Simeon, your first team is Indiana. Simeon Schlicher: okay. I was looking for these. okay. Because I didn't get to pull them up. I mean, it's the big twelve. I mean, it's the big ten, not the big twelve. We're off to a Roberto Con Queso: On track. Simeon Schlicher: we're off to a great start for Simeon so far. All right, Indiana Hooters. So, I mean, the ceiling is another chat is another natty. I think, given we've already talked about this, given who Kirksonetti is. That's more of the system. They've retained all their co most, if not all of their coaching staff. now that I have it pulled up, potential losses being Ohio State, at that point we'll know if it's actually Michigan or not. and USC. I mean, I think the floor here is I don't wanna get I don't wanna get clipped in four K but like Two losses, maybe. One? I'm really feeling one. I'm really feeling 11 Micaiah: Ten and two. Yeah. Hmm. Simeon Schlicher: and one. You know, why not? Micaiah: I I yeah, I I mean I wouldn't be surprised given Kirk Zenetti's track record and their non-conference is not hard whatsoever, right? I'm gonna give myself the Michigan Wolverines, and this ceiling and floor is a big difference. So their I believe their ceiling is 10 and two. And their two of their losses is coming to is two of the following teams: Oklahoma, Oregon, Ohio State. Penn and Penn State. Those are where the two losses will come from. However, I think there's their floor, so that's their ceiling 10 and 2. Their floor is 7 and 5, with losses coming to Oklahoma, Penn State, Oregon, Ohio State, and Iowa. Simeon Schlicher: Going to Indiana. Micaiah: I'm sorry. And Indiana. So actually let me rephrase. I think their ceilings nine and three and their and their floors six and six, which is wild. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, I'm j I Micaiah: No arguments with that. Simeon Schlicher: I mean, no. They get Iowa at home. I just don't believe in Iowa. So like freaking you should have fi you fired the wrong coach at Iowa. It's not just the offensive coordinator. The the head coach needed to go to. Micaiah: I I Micha the the schedule's very tough for Michigan. So I'm either going nine and three with the floor of six and six, which if it's six and six, Simeon Schlicher: it it Micaiah: that's a rough season. Simeon Schlicher: If I'm putting numbers on and I'm putting numbers on six and six, not not nine and three. Micaiah: Fair fair enough. Robert, your Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: next team is Alabama. Roberto Con Queso: Alabama. the f ceiling for Alabama I have as a national championship at twelve and which would end up being what sixteen, seventeen and Micaiah: sixteen and I think. Depending on if they get a first round buy or not, yeah. Roberto Con Queso: sixteen. that right. So that would I would say is their ceiling, their floor. I'm writing them at about nine and tree. Micaiah: Nice. Who are who are their losses to? Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. you went out of order on the thing, so now I gotta go try and find everyone. so I have their Micaiah: Apologies. Roberto Con Queso: yeah, I mean, you better. So the obviously one of them was going to be Georgia. Micaiah: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: So I'm kinda like fifty fifty. It's are they gonna beat Georgia? Are they not gonna beat Georgia? I gave them the having the worst game of their life in Baton Rouge and losing to LSU. That's why it's probably not gonna happen. And then I also had them I think I had them drop in one to Tennessee at Tennessee. So Micaiah: Okay. Roberto Con Queso: that would be that would be their nine and three. Micaiah: Lane Kiffin has never beaten Alabama. Just a friendly reminder, Robert. Roberto Con Queso: trust me. Well aware. Don't know if the fans of LSU and Lane Kiffin are aware, but I am definitely aware. Micaiah: Okay. All right. Simeon, since I have to go in order now, your next one is Oregon. Simeon Schlicher: I mean you didn't have to, first of all, in looking at this, Oregon's first game is against Boise State. And I'm like, they're one of the new Pac twelve teams, right? 'Cause getting them in the Mountain West confusing, right? I think we can all agree on that. I didn't have to have a kid to be confused by that by that fact. Then I then I looked at Pac Micaiah: Sure, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: twelve. Still not still not twelve teams. All of them are state schools. Did we notice this? Has anyone reported on this? Micaiah: I actually heard that I no one's reported on this, but I I did know that because I was watching Bordeaux, shout out Bordeaux, the YouTube streamer, and he put Hawaii in the pack twelve and he noticed that and so he was talking about that for a little bit. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Yeah. Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Texas State, Utah State, Washington State. It's no longer it's not the Pac twelve. What? What? Micaiah: That's a lot of state. Roberto Con Queso: You know You know what else is crazy about that? They're all terrible. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah They're all FCS schools. Roberto Con Queso: Like okay. Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: So we're calling them the State Eight on the podcast officially. Okay. Micaiah: The state a the hateful state. Simeon Schlicher: The hateful states, I'm fine with that as well. the hateful states, I don't really care. Okay, Oregon. I had their schedule pulled up, and I'm really only seeing that Washington game is always a trap game for them. I'm really interested to see how Michigan State's doing, but we don't really care about them. I don't think Oklahoma State's gonna be, but it's at Oklahoma State. Ooh, in September too. Yikes. Okay. Micaiah: Ooh, can't wait for Oregon to win that game by twenty five. Simeon Schlicher: Okay, so I think it's a conference championship. Let's say a deep run in the in the playoff. If that's kind of how we're doing this, I think that's the the ceiling. I I don't necessarily they have a them having Dante Moore coming back is is good for them. they lost their offensive coordinator, right? I'm remembering that. He went somewhere. So that's not Okay. Micaiah: Yes, Kentucky. Will Stein. They lost both coordinators, one to Cal, one to Kentucky. Simeon Schlicher: Well, there you go. So however I think head coach, you know, keeping the culture plus quarterback keeping the offensive culture is a good thing. I don't know about their defense. Sorry, defenses be more sexy. So floor, two, three, four, what was that, eight and four? Micaiah: That's a lot of losses for Oregon, but okay. Simeon Schlicher: I could see them dropping all their all their all their big games easily. Micaiah: Okay. Depending on how their coordinators shake out. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, and just it's it's a it's an annoying like that's how it is in the Big Ten. Someone's gotta lose. Oregon hasn't proved necessarily to me that they can when going gets tough, they get going, you know? Micaiah: Another team that has proven to me that they, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going or hasn't proved that is the Texas Longhorns. their schedule, they have the SEC schedule, but then they also have Ohio State out of conference. I see their ceiling 12-0. Absolutely. I think if Arch takes that next step, the defense was nasty last year. If they get help from the running game, as they kind of did towards the end of the year, I think. I think 12 and 0 is a perfectly fine ceiling. Their floor, though, I think is nine and three with losses to Ohio State, Oklahoma, and either LSU or Texas AM, one of the two. So I I'm looking at undefeated for Arch and Sark. My guess is they'll probably end up 11 and 1, 10 and 2, somewhere in that range, but 9 and 3 would be the floor for them. So, Yeah, I mean they got a tough kind of middle of the schedule. It's Tennessee, Oklahoma, Florida, Old Miss. However, and Mississippi State. However, that's all at home. From October 10th to November 7th, they are at home in Austin. Austin. And the only time they go on the road in during the first Seven weeks of the season is to Rocky Top. I'm just realizing another crazy schedule, Robert. How about that? Texas doesn't leave Texas except for September twenty-sixth to Rocky Top. Isn't that wild? All right, Robert, for you, your next team is LSU. Simeon Schlicher: Why'd you give it to him? Roberto Con Queso: I have so LSU schedule, it's not it's not great, it's not bad, it's kinda mid. I their ceiling, I'm gonna sit at nine and three. Micaiah: man. Roberto Con Queso: With losses to Texas, Bama and Ole Miss. I I think that's fair. Micaiah: Yeah, I mean yeah. Roberto Con Queso: It's you know, could they be ten and two? Yeah, if they really pull off an upset, but nine and three I feel is pretty comfortable. The floor, I mean seven and five with losses to Clemson, Ole Miss, Alabama, Texas, and Tennessee. One, two, three, f yeah, five. I mean, they could even lose the AM They could lose at Arkansas late, late in the season, so they could end up like six and Micaiah: What Roberto Con Queso: seven. Micaiah: what what is that fan base gonna do if he loses three, four games this year? Let's just be nice and let's just say th he loses three games, right? What is that fan base gonna do? Roberto Con Queso: Well what was at what was LSU's record last year? Micaiah: I think like five and seven maybe. Let me look. Roberto Con Queso: Okay. So If you're the fan base, as long as you can progress and not regress, like you should not be walking into this season thinking SEC championship, playoffs, national championship. Those three thoughts should not be like it that should not be your expectation. Like you you just haven't earned Simeon Schlicher: Nine and four. Roberto Con Queso: that yet. So You're gonna find out. Okay, so seven Micaiah: they finished seven and five, by the way. Roberto Con Queso: and five. If you go nine and three, as much as you're gonna hate it, take it. Because, like we said before, nine and three is probably gonna put you ts pretty close to the top of the SEC. Maybe, with the way the schedule works out this year. Micaiah: I would think so. Yeah, yeah. Roberto Con Queso: But I just wouldn't have the expectation super high, just because, again, it's his first year there. It's not it shouldn't be pretty. And if it is pretty, then something is gonna fall way off the tracks real fast at the end. Micaiah: always. I mean, it's the most toxic toxic relationship in all the sports. I've said it again. I will that is how I will refer to this until this thing runs off the track. Now, if he proves me wrong and he's there 10 plus years, I will be shocked. I think this thing ends in four seasons, five at the latest. Robert, I'm with you. Like, and he was in. I mean, he's kind of spent this off season after his initial like get there of kind of trying to pull the ring. Reigns back, but we've seen it on our socials. The LSU fanbase is expecting a playoff run SEC championship game appearance, and their whole reasoning behind that is he's taken over train wrecks and improved them. He hasn't improved them in their first year, and LSU has been train wrecks. Roberto Con Queso: And the Micaiah: These last couple years. Roberto Con Queso: the unfortunate part for LSU is they could walk November seventh they play Alabama. They could have one loss or no losses, be maybe two in the country. And they get Bama one week, Texas at Ten and then at Tennessee three weeks in a row. You could go from being number two, and you lose two games in a row, now you're back at fifteen sixteen out of the playoffs. Out out of the SEC. And now and Micaiah: Yeah, out of the out of the C C just you're gone. Roberto Con Queso: yeah. And now Simeon Schlicher: Bring back Tulane. Roberto Con Queso: and now you're fighting for your life just to stay relevant in the SEC. Micaiah: And and let's not get it twisted. The Rocky Top fan base is looking for any reason to jump on Lane Kiffin still for what he did, like however long ago that was, you know, 20 years ago, however long ago that was. So they're just gonna pile on and and they're even though he is now removed from them and he And he's not at Old Miss, he's at LSU. They're gonna pile on there. So that's not any this entire season for Lane Giffin is going to be his hardest coaching season mentally for him. And if they lose one game, what happens? Does it all unravel as you mentioned, Robert? It's gonna be it's the storyline of the season. I'm very excited for it. Game day is gonna be covering LSU games two times in the first three weeks, and I don't necessarily hate it. Simeon, Oklahoma Sooners, Boomer. Sooner Boomer has blue eyes. Simeon Schlicher: good to know. Yeah, I didn't remember hearing that. sorry, I looked up all my AM information. I'm locked and loaded on AM, but you know, that's not who's next in alphabetically. And not even alphabetically. Oklahoma, okay. Listen, you we already know I'm high on them. so you know, it's gonna be a fun team no matter what. I have them over here. Okay. out of conference games being UTEP, Michigan and New Mexico. Yikes. they're at Georgia, at the swamp, and at Missouri. they get Texas AM at home. so floor, which unfortunately in the SEC, and given this, what is that? One, two, three. Roberto Con Queso: Shoot. Simeon Schlicher: No, four, no, four. Four losses. I was I was going Micaiah: Learning how to count on mostly college football. Simeon Schlicher: down the I was going down, it was like, Roberto Con Queso: Well Simeon Schlicher: do we make s is South Carolina a team they can beat? No. It's the yes, they are a team they can beat. Like that's their Micaiah: So so so that's their floor eight and four. Simeon Schlicher: four. Eight and four, I think. I I this this gives me ten and two. Roberto Con Queso: Mm. Simeon Schlicher: Like maybe, maybe with Johnny with Johnny that doesn't work 'cause that was also Menzel with Johnny Mateir. maybe he stays healthy, doesn't have finger thumb issues, I think is what it was. And we get a surprise run from them. But, you know, I think we're having conversations about Brett about Brett Venevol's being Oklahoma's head coach at the end of the year if they they're going ten and two even still. I think the expectations are too high for in in not still water. Where are they at? Norman. Micaiah: No, I I I I disagree. I I they're Norman. I I dis I disagree with Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, I mean. Micaiah: that. I think they are happy with him. Simeon Schlicher: I'm not saying they're firing him. I'm just saying they're having discussions about it. It's like how Ryan Day, if he loses to Michigan, but goes ten it goes eleven and one, they're having discussions about it. Them be the rules. Micaiah: I I don't I don't even know how much that's true. Simeon Schlicher: No, you know I'm right. You know I'm right. It's Oklahoma. There are teams like Oklahoma which demor the rules. I'm no don't like that they're the rules. I'm just telling you the rules. Micaiah: No, but I no, no, but I no no I think no I think Oklahoma I think Oklahoma is far more passive in term or far less reactionary than some of the big brands are. Simeon Schlicher: You're talking about southern football, bro, being being passive. I I disagree. Micaiah: Yes, Robert. Your hand is raised. Roberto Con Queso: Okay. Since I had to th I had to raise my hand there to interject. Micaiah: Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: For Simeon's sake, I will say that the seat gets a little warmer. It does not necessarily starting Simeon Schlicher: It it's not hot. Roberto Con Queso: discussions, but it might get up a little bit where they're like, hey, maybe we need to sit here and talk about this. We're not really I mean, they haven't won an SEC championship. They haven't Simeon Schlicher: One of the big boosters is floating the idea out there. I'm not saying the administration is talking about it. I'm just saying Micaiah: Alright, fine, fine. I I I will concede the point that a big time booster might bring up the point. Thank you for whoever's throwing these thumbs up and claps. Simeon Schlicher: It's Robert. Micaiah: I I don't think the administration what you can't afford to do in this age of college football is be, in my mind, this reactionary. Unless if you went from a national chicken Penn State did, national championship to losing a UCLA, right? And and And now you're and now you're out the door. Simeon Schlicher: See, we say this, but like we've compared n modern day college football to the Premier League, and we're starting to get there. we're seeing NFL coaches get fired more constant more consecutively in the middle of the season. Why is college football not there? Chelsea fired very good coaches that were doing okay for because they weren't winning. Micaiah: Bi big t big time buy big time buyouts and now you have you are as a school, you're doing one thing you haven't planned y for decades for in the budget, which is paying for players. So now y now in the now in the past Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, but but teams like Oklahoma are already doing that. I would agree with you for a team like UTEP. Oklahoma is the type of school and the type of blue blood that if you went just went ten and two, which is an upgrade from last year, right? Let's say your your losses let's say they beat let's say they beat Micaiah: I think they went ten and two last year actually. But yeah. Simeon Schlicher: Did goes to show you I didn't Micaiah: I think so. Simeon Schlicher: I didn't pay attention. but I can remember he injured his hand. Micaiah: I think they lost I think they they lost to Texas and they lost to Alabama, I'm pretty sure. Simeon Schlicher: So let's say they beat Texas, right? They lost to Texas and they lost to Ole Miss. And then Alabama in the college football playoff first round. But let's say they repeat Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: that again. Right? That's basically what I'm saying. As their ceiling. They're out in the first or second round of the college football playoff. They lo they lose to Texas and call it Florida or Georgia, more likely, right? Like Micaiah: The I again I will concede the point that someone in the room will is bringing it up. I I just I would laugh. Simeon Schlicher: I don't think they're firing him. Micaiah: Yeah. He he is way too good of a coach given what he had to inherit to bring into the SEC suddenly, that he he's way too good to to be getting rid of. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, see Makaiah, but this is our favorite to turn of phrase. That's logical. Micaiah: Yeah, no, fair fair enough. All right. I'm I'm looking at the Georgia Bulldogs who only go on the r road four times all season, and they go on to r Simeon Schlicher: Crazy. Micaiah: on the road to Arkansas, Alabama, Old Miss, and South Carolina. And I'm thinking the only loss on their schedule of their four road games are possibly to Alabama. However, the Simeon Schlicher: Did you say Oklahoma? Not to stop your flow. Micaiah: I meant Ole Miss if I did say Oklahoma. Simeon Schlicher: No, they they go never mind. I'm looking at the wrong thing. They're going never mind. Shut up. Sorry. Micaiah: Okay, great. their ceiling is 11 and one, I think, with a loss to Alabama. And I think their floor Simeon Schlicher: Wow. Micaiah: is 10 and 2 with losses on the road to Alabama and and oldness. Right? I I don't think I no one else on their schedule. Their non-con doesn't scare me. Georgia Tech's good, but not SEC in the trenches. And then everyone else, they kind of have the bottom half of the SEC that they from last year. So I I I picked Georgia to represent be one of the title game representatives, and I don't see any reason why they'll lose any more than two games in the year. So that's who I'm going with. Robert, your next team is Notre Dame. Roberto Con Queso: well with the cupcake schedule that Notre Dame inherits every year, you automatically have to go twelve and national championship is kind of their ceiling. they actually have like a decent team kind of returning. the floor I would say is probably nine and three. losses Miami, BYU, and then maybe a sneaky Like Wisconsin gets them early off in the beginning of the year. Micaiah: Mm. Roberto Con Queso: Like the like an early gut check kind of deal. Like when they lost to Northern Illinois that one time. Or Marshall that other time. But you know, it I feel like it's reasonable to assume that they're they should W they should it they should go undefeated. They should. The big the big one's gonna be Miami, obviously. Micaiah: How embarrassing would it be? Because to refresh everyone's memories, Simeon on this podcast, Notre Dame took their ball last Simeon Schlicher: Hi. Micaiah: year and went home when they did not make the college football playoff. When they got left out, they took their ball and they went home. They didn't want to play in the Pop-Tart bowl and eat the Pop-Tarts or do whatever. Simeon Schlicher: Great game. Micaiah: They threw a temper tantrum, like a five-year-old, and they took their ball and went home. If they come out and drop an egg to Wisconsin at Lambeau, how Loud does this talk get? Simeon, speaking of Oklahoma over reactions, whatever, Marcus Freeman has a tendency in his coaching career to drop early games. He's done it twice to lesser opponents. Early in the season. So if he drops one to Wisconsin, you took your ball, you went home. So people have that bad taste. You lose to Wisconsin. How loud is that talk for the fighting Irish? Roberto Con Queso: Feel like that's a tricky one for Notre Dame. Just because they Micaiah: The game Roberto Con Queso: w they did make it to the national championship like what two or three years ago? Two years Micaiah: Right, two years ago, right. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: ago. So it's like it's one of those things where it's always a diehard fan base that overreacts to one, two bad seasons where it's like Micaiah: Right, sure. Roberto Con Queso: a bad season's only like a two lost season. And it's like, well, it would it would almost be like if Harbaugh stayed. Nothing happened and the following season we went eight and or nine and three. And then it was like, Well think we gotta start thinking about letting Harbaugh go again and it's like, Well, we just won a national championship like two years ago. You know what I mean? It's I feel it's it would it would be hard to let Marcus Freeman go, I would say. Cause I mean, Notre Dame hasn't had a good coach since Brian Kelly. Kind of. Micaiah: Yeah, I mean kind of. Right. I mean, he made a few college football playoffs but didn't do anything with it. Marcus Freeman at least made it to the national championship game. I I'm not saying there would be talks to f of firing or anything for Marcus Freeman, but what I'm saying is like that media in South Bend, that's gotta be pretty loud. That they're gonna bring up every l they're gonna bring up the martial laws, they're gonna bring up the North Northern Illinois lots, they're gonna bring up the fact that you took your ball, went home last year. That you had a returning quarterback and you start the year O and one, I mean, whew, that Roberto Con Queso: Well, I mean Brian Kelly took him to a national championship. When they got Molly Wapped by Bama. Yeah. Micaiah: I mean I mean yeah, by by Bama, sure, sure. And I mean they started and two last year, right? Notre Dame. Did they not? Wasn't that just last year they started O and two? Roberto Con Queso: was it? Micaiah: With losses to Miami and someone else. Roberto Con Queso: I think you're right. 'Cause I think that was the big thing we were talking that it it was gonna be almost impossible for them to kind of rebound that. Micaiah: And and and we'd be right. Roberto Con Queso: We were right. Micaiah: Simeon, your next team is A and Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. we've been kinda we've been kinda quiet on them, huh? Micaiah: Well be Simeon Schlicher: Little bit. the answer to the question here is championship. I didn't realize what they brought in. I didn't realize Marcel Reed stuck around. I didn't, you know, know all of this. and I'm looking at their schedule and don't get me wrong, their schedule is difficult, but you look at last season's schedule, they had a loss to Texas. where again and this is and then they're they had a Very close game, if I'm remembering correctly, with with Miami. I think it was pretty ugly, but it was close. for a loss, their last two losses of the season. But if I can pull up their current, unless Arizona State is scary, their first their non conference is Missouri State, Arizona State, and the Citadel. Three W's. Okay, so where are their losses, Simeon? All right, they're gonna have a challenge against LSU. Everyone on the podcast goes, yeah, that's a win for them. Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas. Those are like the other question marks with Tennessee being just explosive. That's the only reason why. Let's assume they beat Tennessee because it's a Mike Elko defense. Let's assume Mark so Marcel Reid's gonna be playing first round, you know, top ten, top five draft pick level football. At which case, I think they beat Oklahoma defensively. They look fantastic. They did last year. They brought in pi players to replace them. So I gave you this the sorry, I gave you the ceiling, which is what? Why are you giving me faces? Micaiah: No, no, no. I'm laughing at Robert's dog in the background. I i she like her head popped out and then it was like moving. Is she trying to scoot her way under that bed? Could she get under that bed? Yeah, Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Micaiah: a little bit. Okay. All right. Simeon Schlicher: Ha ha ha. Roberto Con Queso: You doing. Micaiah: I was just laughing because I just seen his head pop out and then the head just rocking back and forth. I was just like, what is she doing? Okay. All right. Roberto Con Queso: Okay, he's creeping. Simeon Schlicher: So to me, but then what's the four, right? It's the SEC they like to beat up on each other, especially in the years okay, losses to Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, and Alabama. Four. Eight Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: what is that? Not eight and four, yeah, eight four. Micaiah: Eight and four. Simeon Schlicher: But I don't think they're going to. Again, if I'm taking the money, it's gonna be on the national championship. Micaiah: The team that Lane Kiffin left Ole Miss, they their players are excited about Pete Golding being there. They're bringing in the offensive coordinator from East Carolina, which kind of runs the same similar style offense as Lane Kiffin did. Trinidad Chambliss is returning, so is their running back, whose name escapes me, and the wide receiver. So they should have all this offensive production. My problem is that the defense was not liked out. Now you have a head coach. Who of not a lights out defense calling the defensive plays? So, how's this gonna work? Right? They got a tough opener against Louisville. Jeff Brahm knows how to call offensive football. He can slice and dice the best offensive play calls with anyone in the country. I think their floor really is six and six with losses to Louisville, LSU, Florida, Texas, Georgia, and Oklahoma. That that's a lot of losses. Their ceiling to flip that is nine and three at best. I think you're losing to Oklahoma, Georgia, and Texas. And then you're getting the adrenaline rush of LSU. You you go on the road to the swamp. I'm really loving what I'm hearing from John Summerl Florida and how he's changing the culture mindset. Sneaky team, the Florida Gators there. So I think for the old miss rebels, you go from one game away from the national championship, one Carson Beck scramble away from the national championship. Two, you're six and six, and now you're at your administration is like, all right, let's start maybe thinking about a new coach. Pete Golding gets one more year, sort of deal. Cause was he the true, true replacement, or was he a panic replacement that you kind of was too late in the process to find an another guy? So you just kind of stuck with him, sort of deal. So Old Miss Rebels floor six and six, ceiling is only nine and three and no playoff. Robert, your final team is the Texas Tech Redas. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, Texas Tech is kind of a odd one because it's solely going to depend on who is it, Will Hammond, quarterback? Yeah, it's gonna Micaiah: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Roberto Con Queso: depend on how healthy he is. Because of course, the gambling rambler man Sorzby is not going to be playing for Texas Tech this year. I do have their ceiling as twelve and mainly because their schedule they don't play the better Big Twelve team, i.e. BYU. Simeon Schlicher: Colorado. Roberto Con Queso: yeah, 100% Colorado. Just the the monumental team that that has become Simeon Schlicher: Powerhouse. Yeah. Roberto Con Queso: yes. but I would say their floor is probably ten and two and I would say that their losses It would be the most random losses that they've probably ever had. Maybe one to I I really couldn't figure out like who to give them two. I just assumed that two was like an appropriate number of losses. Yeah, they might they they could drop one to Oklahoma State. It's hard it's hard to tell with the Big Twelve because none of them are good. Micaiah: Yeah. Texas Tech, if it wants to compete once it gets outside of the Big Twelve, needs to beef up the lines of scrimmage. I think they did that well on defense last year, but offensively they did on the offensive line, they didn't do that well. So I'm really interested to see how the offensive line looks in season. Can they road grade people? Because that's that's how you compete at a national level is can you road grade people? Grade people. Indiana could do it when they wanted to last year. Ohio State the year before that, Michigan before that, and then it was Georgia twice. You know, all the national champions could just road grade people late in games, and Texas Tech was unable to do that and relied a lot on their quick kind of passing game. Sammy and your final team is the USC Trojans out of the big ten. People are saying this might be a make it break it year for Lincoln Riley. So what do you have the Trojans doing? Simeon Schlicher: I mean, I would agree with you that it's a make it break it year for Lincoln Riley, but established quarterbacks in Lincoln Riley is a great great combination and he gets Jalen Milata, am I re How Mayada Mayava V. Yes. Micaiah: Jaden Mayava. Mayava. Yep. Simeon Schlicher: There's too many back. so that's great. brought in some defensive help, which is good. You know, what I was really surprised about the Trojans is right, like it was this whole big thing. They got Lincoln Riley, they stole him out from under Oklahoma. my gosh, you know, this is coming he was he I forget what he did that year. I think he was a, you know, knockout in the semis, you know, sort of situation. And then he comes into the Big Ten and just just farts in the bed for lack of, you know, for keeping this PG. Roberto Con Queso: Much oven. Simeon Schlicher: Just Micaiah: Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: pink eye everywhere. Just the worst. Okay, hookworm. Yeah, Micaiah: Yo maybe a little shard act action. Simeon Schlicher: 100%. Not trusted a fart that he shouldn't Roberto Con Queso: Pin painworms, everything. Simeon Schlicher: have. Yeah, 100%. so the floor to me is fired by. No, he won't get fired. He'll wait till the end of the season and then they'll to fire him. But the floor to me is Like the ceiling is more of a question than the floor. The floor is losses to Oregon, Washington, Penn State, Ohio State, and Indiana. And let's just throw a USC in there. So what is that? Six and six? Just for fun. It's probably more like seven and five is their floor. They only lost two games last last three conference games. well they were all conference games, but three games last year. So like to me, again, tooling up. they probably shouldn't have lost to Illinois. That's one of the reasons w people were probably annoyed at them. But what's their ceiling? In the big ten, we're talking we're not they're not in the conversation for me for a championship. They're not in the conversation at all, even to make it the playoff. and I mean that from a like we're not having those conversations, not that they aren't good enough. They probably are. But they have to get through teams like Penn State, you know, they call Iowa State and State College. they have to get through Oregon, which I don't think they're going to. Th three lost team probably, Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon. Micaiah: So there's ceilings nine and three. Simeon Schlicher: Their ceiling's the same thing it was last year to me, and I think we're talking about Lane Kiffin of like he wasn't able to transfer into it. Micaiah: You you you talked a while to get to that number, bud, but we appreciate that you finally got there. Simeon Schlicher: Listen, it's a podcast. We're supposed to t share our opinion. Roberto Con Queso: One, two, three. Micaiah: Two, three. my final team is the Ohio State Buckeyes. Simeon Schlicher: You guys are the worst. Micaiah: and we're gonna be much, much quicker with this because their ceiling is 12 and And yes, they do have a new offensive coordinator, but the talent's already there. They have the best root player, definitely receiver, if not player, in the game in Jeremiah Smith. Their quarterback Julian Saiyan was just lights out accurate last year, but can he push the ball a little further downfield? They kind of let him warm up. That defense let him warm up early in that season. And then by the end, he was much better, except in the game against Miami and in the Big Ten title game. So, can they get kind of explosive plays down the field? And they have Bo Jackson at running back, so that will be very interesting to see. But on their best days, they're gonna beat Texas, they're gonna beat USC, Oregon, Indiana, Michigan, all of that. On their not best day, so their floor, they would lose to Texas, they would lose to Indiana, they would lose to Oregon, they would lose to USC, and they would lose to Michigan. And it's five Roberto Con Queso: Good Lord. Micaiah: losses. I do not think that they're gonna have five losses, but their floor is seven and five. Their ceiling is twelve and I think they're gonna finish closer to ten and two. What's the chance that the number one team in the country at the end of the year has two losses? Simeon Schlicher: Pretty high. I think above seventy percent. Roberto Con Queso: Mm, I'm gonna Simeon Schlicher: We're talking about the national champion having more than two last two losses regular season losses. Right. Roberto Con Queso: No. Well n well he just said the number one team. Micaiah: The number one team at the end of the regular season. Yeah. Simeon Schlicher: end of the regular season? Roberto Con Queso: So okay, so are we just saying Ohio State in general or just whoever Simeon Schlicher: Okay, so Roberto Con Queso: finishes number one? Micaiah: Whoever finishes number one. Because at as Simeon Schlicher: more than forty percent I would say probably. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, I would s I would be confident saying probably fifty percent shot. Micaiah: I I think it's higher than that. Looking at these schedules for some of these teams. I I mean, I I I said last year, you know, Corso said it and I said and I even said it last year, which was I don't think we'll ever have an undefeated national championship again, and then Indiana, you know, runs the table. But looking at especially the teams in the Big Ten and the top teams in the SEC, their schedules are are difficult. There are chances that we got two lots, and you're looking up at the end of the season and the top t 10 teams all have two losses, two to three losses. And that'll just be wild to me, because what does the committee do then, right? Like, are people freaking out about extra conference games? But as we were going through that that kind of thought sparked my mind. Real quickly, Pac 12 is back and better than ever. It's got eight teams. They all end in state. Simeon Schlicher: No, say it right. Micaiah: What the stateful eight or whatever? Simeon Schlicher: To state eight. Roberto Con Queso: This date philate. We got the philate of fish over here. Micaiah: The Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. Micaiah: the f the flay of fish. All right. The the state eight. who will be repro representing the state eight in their Simeon Schlicher: Me. Micaiah: pack pac twelve championship game? Simeon, go ahead. Simeon Schlicher: It's me. I'm gonna be representing them in their championship game. Micaiah: Okay. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, it's gonna be Boise State for the next twelve years. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah, I mean yeah, it's probably I I had them up Micaiah: Okay, great. But but who's gonna be playing Boise State? Simeon Schlicher: Fresno State's in them, right? So hold on. I have to actually go see who's in this 'cause again, the whole conference thing. Boise State Roberto Con Queso: Well it's it Simeon Schlicher: is going to play Washington State. Roberto Con Queso: Washington State. Simeon Schlicher: Yeah. It's gonna be Micaiah: Okay. Simeon Schlicher: the battle for the border. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah. Every year for the next twelve years. Micaiah: Alright, you know what? I'm good with that. Boise State and Washington State. That's who will be representing the Pac-12 in the championship Pac-12 championship game. assuming that they have one. All right. Guys, another exercise that we are going to do here, kind of to finish Roberto Con Queso: Exercise. Micaiah: to finish out the Simeon Schlicher: We d did we talk about the Mac? What about the Mac, huh? Sacramento States in the Mac now, Mikayah. What about I don't know, someone else. The Mountain West. The new and approved Mountain West. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Micaiah: Hey Simeon. Simeon, just real quick. Just super quick. Shut up. All right. Simeon, Roberto Con Queso: Boom. Micaiah: who's who's gonna finish last in the American? Simeon Schlicher: Okay. You gotta give me a little bit more heads up 'cause again, I don't even know who's in the American. Not Kent Roberto Con Queso: Okay, temple. Micaiah: I was just hoping you would throw out a temple. Simeon Schlicher: thank you. He's right though. Thanks, Robert. He's a hundred percent right. Roberto Con Queso: Yeah, no problem. Micaiah: Okay. Robert.
