- 0:02Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:05It's time now for our one on one with the pro and we've got
- 0:09the ladies in from Truity Credit Union today. We're going to get into this
- 0:13a litlarly because they battled the storms and you know, the flooding and everything
- 0:17else to get here, so we're gonna give them a little extra time.
- 0:19First of all, good morning to you. We have Ashton Armstrong say honey,
- 0:24hi hey, and we have Aliyah. How you doing good? I
- 0:28am doing just wonderful. Thank you very much. We're going to talk about
- 0:33culture today, so well, you know, I'm going to stand up straight
- 0:37going to well, it's a little bit more than that, but it is
- 0:41how we carry ourselves at Trudy Credit Union, isn't it. Yes, And
- 0:45tell us a little bit about the culture here. I mean you're the Culture
- 0:48Crew leader. Now there was a band called Culture, but I don't think
- 0:52it's that. But you're still cool, so tell us all about that.
- 0:58Yeah. So Culture Crew is a team up of like various employees across all
- 1:02levels, all branches. So we have people here in Bartlesville, we have
- 1:04people in Lawrence, we have people in Houston, and we have people who
- 1:07work remotely at their homes that are all part of our culture crew. So
- 1:12we all band together, we meet bi weekly and we talk about like things
- 1:17to enhance our culture here at Trudy. Well, that's that's really pretty cool.
- 1:22What's it like being part of the team. It's been fantastic so far.
- 1:26Been on it for about eight months now, and it's been really fun
- 1:29finding ideas and being creative and trying to find different ways to better our culture
- 1:34as we go along. Well, just by the way you two present yourself
- 1:38and the way you smile and your very positive vibes I'm getting from both of
- 1:42you, this has to be not only a cool growing experience, but it's
- 1:47got to be a very cool teaching experience too. Oh yeah, So we've
- 1:52been, you know, each year, trying to do better and create different
- 1:56things, like we started doing our Christmas party again last year and doing our
- 2:00company picnic again because we had to take that away because of good old COVID,
- 2:05and so being able to ban everybody together again has been really fun and
- 2:10having those fun experiences again. So what's it like coming all back together now?
- 2:15It's awesome being able to see people actually interact together and not just over
- 2:20a computer or over cell phones, different things like that, being able to
- 2:23actually interact and see each other. People are really they're loving being able to
- 2:30see each other, you know, and even people having to travel down here
- 2:34from like Lawrence and he's in different places. People are really enjoying being together.
- 2:38So that is really great, you know, because you know, true
- 2:42to create a union really isn't small. Even though it started out very very
- 2:46small, it still has that small town field to it. And I think
- 2:51with this culture that you've created internally has found it's always found its way outward
- 2:57with customer service and then the way we exact business with one another, and
- 3:02really it's kind of a sweet thing. Yes. So, like we have
- 3:06five culture rings, and one of those culture rings that we focus on is
- 3:08membership centric, So we actually focus internally on our internal members, but we
- 3:15also focus outwardly to our other members. Because if we're if we're happy employees,
- 3:21we're going to be havey we're going to have happy members and it's all
- 3:24good for the outcome, isn't it. Yes, it is. So as
- 3:27long as we're benefiting, everybody else will benefit as well. Because if we
- 3:30didn't know with the Credit Union. If you open an account with us,
- 3:35you're instantly an owner of the Credit Union. True, so you have a
- 3:40vote in and a buy in of what we do and how we run our
- 3:44business. So we'd love to hear ideas and get input to better your membership
- 3:49with us. Well, that's great. I mean, the Good Lord gave
- 3:52us two ears and one mouth, so listening. Listening is pretty good.
- 3:54Yes, it is one of these other rings we're talking about. So we
- 3:59all also have Yeah, we also have people focused, which is what we
- 4:05just focused on here recently, and we had our survey over that just recently,
- 4:11so we're actually gonna hold like a cookout for employees next week to focus
- 4:15on them. So our peak people focused. We also have innovation. So
- 4:20for our innovation ring, what we do is we take in ideas year round
- 4:26from employees internally. They can submit ideas through an online portal. No sugah,
- 4:33they're kind of outdated now now we have it online, so they can
- 4:38submit their ideas through that and a lot of ideas that we you know,
- 4:43new things that we bring in and new ideas that we implement come from our
- 4:46internal employees bringing ideas forwards. So that's a really neat one. And then
- 4:53we also have one team and personal achievement as well. So one team,
- 4:58we really want to focus on all of the departments feeling as united. We
- 5:01never want to have that mindset of it's my job or that's your job.
- 5:05I don't want to deal with that. We always want to be one team.
- 5:09If I am you or call you know, everyone's always willing to help
- 5:13out. And then we have our personal achievement because you could be working here,
- 5:17but you could also have big milestones like graduating college or even internal promotions.
- 5:23We always want to recognize those personal achievements with all of our employees.
- 5:27That's really cool. I mean this goes back on basically how you'd like to
- 5:31be treated and just treating each other the same way. It's a great thing.
- 5:39You've got another ring. Therefore, I think those are all the rings
- 5:44God. But the thing is, it's really cool, truity, great UNI.
- 5:50I'm a customer, I'm a partner in yes, and every time I
- 5:56go in, I feel very welcome. And whenever I've had a question,
- 6:00there's only somebody there. They don't have the answer, they know someone who
- 6:03does. And when you were talking about that, team. I never once
- 6:08heard, well, that's not my department. You know what I heard,
- 6:12Hey, let's let's find out where we can get this answered. And just
- 6:17like that, you know, problem solved, and it was a good feeling,
- 6:23very quick, verying. You know, there was no hasshole. And
- 6:28in this world of you know, things get kind of rough out there,
- 6:31it's nice to know that when you go into your financial institution, it's not
- 6:35going to be rough in there. It's going to be actually a pretty dark,
- 6:38good experience, absolutely, and that's something that we work on ongoing.
- 6:42Even today, we had a meeting, a general employee meeting, and we
- 6:46talked about that. You know, there's things that we have committees going together
- 6:49and they're constantly talking about things that we can do better to be one team
- 6:54and constantly fixing things that we might find wrong along the way. But we're
- 6:59constantly working on that. So well, that is outstanding. One of the
- 7:02things that I'm hearing here is that there's a lot of care. It's not
- 7:09like isolation. It's not like anything else that you might see or hear in
- 7:15a bigger business where you know, it's kind of dog eat dog. It's
- 7:18pretty much you know, we're all here, we're all cool, We're all
- 7:24focused on the same goal. Is that what I've done? Yes, it
- 7:26is. So we also like to do little recognitions with our employees. So
- 7:31we like to weave desk drops. We do random theme days to like,
- 7:36you know, break the monotony of the workday and stuff. So we always
- 7:42like to keep it fresh and have fun little days like that. So you
- 7:46got to put your little creative caps on every now, and they don't.
- 7:48Absolutely, and I feel like our managers do a really good job of that
- 7:51too, creating ways different ways to promote their employees and give them recognition for
- 7:59what they're doing. So we're really focused. Even though we are focused on
- 8:03our members outwardly, we're also focused on our internal employees as well. Well.
- 8:07You know what that does, It makes people want to see where do
- 8:09I sign? Where can I get a job with Truity? Absolutely, And
- 8:13you do have a website with employment opportunities, yep, and that's really easy
- 8:18to navigate Truity cut. Yes, absolutely, And if there's not a job
- 8:24opening that you see, we have future job opportunities that you can apply for
- 8:28and we'll keep your resume in there and circle through them. So definitely a
- 8:33great place to work. Well, from the looks of things and the way
- 8:35you guys come in here all happy, I'm just guessing it probably is.
- 8:41Yes, absolutely now a truity. You have your main office right downtown,
- 8:46big beautiful building with a nice big parking. Everything looks so dug going metropolitan,
- 8:52but it's home town inside. It is absolutely got the big mural wrapping
- 8:56the whole downstairs park and everything. And it's people. You know, people
- 9:03you see at the ball games when you're out there with your kids or plays
- 9:07or whatever. Uh. Whenever, we have a lot of organizations doing their
- 9:11nonprofits in town, I'm always seeing somebody volunteering, and yeah, we have
- 9:18so many volunteer opportunities, and our employees really take part in that. So
- 9:22that's really awesome to see people out in the community doing things. My goodness
- 9:28sakes, Yeah, it is. It's not like, yeah, it's going
- 9:30to go and work, go home, and you're out there. You're out
- 9:33there making connections, making friends and and they're really welcoming folks. Then of
- 9:39course you got a little beautiful one down here on the southwest Washington. That's
- 9:45that's a piece of work. That's a piece of art going on down there.
- 9:48Yeah yeah, and then you you mentioned we have some in Kansas now,
- 9:52yes, cub Kansas and as well ye aleisa okay, oh yeah,
- 9:58that's beautiful town. Yeah, Lawrences was the all right, very good.
- 10:03So if I become a asking for a friend, I become a member of
- 10:11the credit can I can I got a debit card? And if I have
- 10:15that debit card? Is it only good in Kansas and Bartlesville? And oh
- 10:20no, that's good everywhere everywhere you go. He's online at ATMs pretty much
- 10:26anywhere you want to that accepts visa debit cards. You can use your debit
- 10:28card anywhere, and you can get your debit card as soon as you come
- 10:33into the branch and get it. Knock down with a feather. Now.
- 10:37I also heard another thing, you know from a friend that day. You
- 10:39can help support your schools with the debit card if you get a special one
- 10:45and that doesn't cost any answer, doesn't it does not get the fun school
- 10:50designs. Yes, you see, I like a business that says yes a
- 10:54lot there. And we've been talking about the culture of a Truity Credit Union
- 11:01today with our culture crew Ashton to Armstrong and also Leah Attabury and both of
- 11:09you are just like almost fresh out out of school and you wind up at
- 11:15a pretty dark, good place to work. There's a great place to land.
- 11:18And one of the things that Truity Credit Union does so well is that
- 11:24when you go in to maybe apply for a home loan or for a car
- 11:26loan or anything else like that, they've got really smart people who know how
- 11:31to really break it down so simpleton like me can understand what's going on.
- 11:35I mean, they're brilliant people, but they tell you in very plain English,
- 11:41and they take you a step by staff of what to expect, what
- 11:43the next move will be, and how the process works. How do you
- 11:46find great folks like that? All starts in the interview process and getting those
- 11:52applications in. So we always try to find the right people that fit our
- 11:56culture to help increase it and have those great experience for you. It's all
- 12:00part of the culture. Once again, you got to give them make a
- 12:03little college here at a Union College of Culture. A few other people I
- 12:11know could probably use that, but no, it's really great. So once
- 12:16again, if you want to go to the website, it's trudcu dot org.
- 12:20That's trudcu dot org and you can navigate there. You can find out
- 12:26checking used to be called share drafts in the old days. It's checking savings,
- 12:31which, by the way, we have a current rate here on the
- 12:37no minimum high yield checking of five percent ap Y, which is quite generous,
- 12:41thank you very much. And you can learn more about that on the
- 12:46website too. If you're looking for employment, they have that as well.
- 12:48All kinds of financial instruments and tools and also who to talk to about such
- 12:56financial needs and services. It's all right there too, right fingertips. And
- 13:01on top of that, if you want to go out to the one on
- 13:05Southwest, well they got this really cool automated teller. Yes, that's cutting
- 13:11edge. It's almost like, eh, but it's cool. It's cool.
- 13:16I understand that it starts at the top technology. It's kind of working its
- 13:20way from the top all the way through here. And also when it comes
- 13:22to safety, folks, you can rest assured that you've got the safest safeguards
- 13:28in the financial realm with Trudy grantit Union because you guys are in gals,
- 13:33it's so cutting edge when it comes to all of this, My Heaven's sakes,
- 13:39so what else about the culture crew have we not covered other than dog
- 13:43Gunty? You guys are fine? Well really we covered it all in that
- 13:48short of time. Yeah, we did. Oh my goodness saying you know,
- 13:52I want to thank you very much for coming in and you know,
- 13:56and we did. We normally do this in nine forty five, but we
- 14:00decided to go just a little bar ely today because we had you in here
- 14:03and you has so much fun and you're going to go out and spread the
- 14:05funnel over the place after they get done here. So I want to thank
- 14:09you Lee and Ashton for coming in and being a part of our one on
- 14:13one with the pro right here, I'm K one, the one you trust.
