- 0:00Speaker 1: I need your everything different day.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I thought we were talking about dexterous mom giving away
- 0:23Speaker 2: a box. But what's going on? Everybody? I am the one,
- 0:27Speaker 2: the only, the w O Okay, I e joined here
- 0:29Speaker 2: by the normal cast of besfits. We got Ogre.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Helly, what's going on?
- 0:33Speaker 3: Everybody?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Glad to be back?
- 0:34Speaker 2: We got the evil one, Zach.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Unfair? How's it going?
- 0:40Speaker 2: You've you've made your bed, You're gonna have to lay
- 0:42Speaker 2: in it. We got big.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I don't think you're evil, Zach.
- 0:46Speaker 4: He's at least lawful evil.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I could go with them getting super technical.
- 0:53Speaker 4: I have been sick for a long long time, but
- 0:55Speaker 4: I'm at So I'm here, and we got Coal, the.
- 1:02Speaker 5: Fifth best voice on the podcast here.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Oh that's gonna be a thing, now.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Is it?
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah? Well, you know what, the people are gonna have
- 1:10Speaker 2: to start rating us. Dexter will be here eventually. He's
- 1:14Speaker 2: hanging out with his mom. She's a beautiful lady, Dexter's mom.
- 1:19Speaker 2: If you know, you know. But we're gonna start out
- 1:21Speaker 2: with unique for else for saying absolutely yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 6: I will say something. I will say something. I've met
- 1:32Speaker 6: Dexter's mom. She is an awesome lady. She drove Dexter
- 1:35Speaker 6: out to San Antonio for the KeyForge event, and like
- 1:38Speaker 6: super super Kind was there like supporting him and all that.
- 1:41Speaker 3: So very very nice, lady Dexter's mom. It just had
- 1:45Speaker 3: a birthday recently. Happy birthday, Dexter today, birthday.
- 1:49Speaker 1: To help you enjoy that crock pot.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Yeah, you probably already have three of.
- 1:55Speaker 1: For shame.
- 1:56Speaker 3: So unique in the week, Z had a really fun
- 1:59Speaker 3: idea and we're in a little bit differently. Yeah, I'm
- 2:03Speaker 3: not going to randomly talk about just some unique that
- 2:05Speaker 3: we picked out that was good. Instead, Z has set
- 2:07Speaker 3: up a little competition for us. Tell us the rules. Z.
- 2:11Speaker 4: All right, so we have worst Unique competition. So our
- 2:15Speaker 4: cast here, which we thought I was going to have
- 2:18Speaker 4: five contestants, We only have four contestants. Wait, wait, we
- 2:25Speaker 4: might have five.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I've picked invite.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Hey Dexter, are you actually here?
- 2:31Speaker 7: I'm here, but I'm in the car, so I won't
- 2:33Speaker 7: be able to share my unique. I have it off
- 2:36Speaker 7: the top of my head. I have it.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Well like screen change to your app, snip the picture
- 2:45Speaker 4: and DM it to me and I will do that.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Are you the one driving the vehicle?
- 2:53Speaker 4: Unless answer that question?
- 2:56Speaker 5: Why why did you join a highly professional plot cast.
- 3:00Speaker 3: All right, all right, your mom for me, the altered
- 3:05Speaker 3: Corner does not encourage its drivers to drive wild, distracted
- 3:09Speaker 3: or wild.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Exter.
- 3:10Speaker 4: This is true. This may be Dexter's last cast. So
- 3:15Speaker 4: let's from the top worst Unique competition. So they submitted
- 3:22Speaker 4: their worst unique to me from their collection. I'm gonna
- 3:25Speaker 4: just go based on my discord thing. So we're gonna
- 3:28Speaker 4: then they're gonna describe what their unique does, all of
- 3:32Speaker 4: the information from it, and then well, actually I will
- 3:37Speaker 4: describe the all of the information, and then they are
- 3:39Speaker 4: going to give us an argument like super Fight style,
- 3:42Speaker 4: that's a card game, why theirs is the worst? And
- 3:47Speaker 4: then they're gonna vote amongst themselves and then they'll be
- 3:50Speaker 4: down to the two highest voted card that are the worst.
- 3:55Speaker 4: We'll then have a face off and then they will
- 3:57Speaker 4: argue with each other one on Once it's at that
- 3:59Speaker 4: point they will know all the stats. Right now, they're
- 4:02Speaker 4: just staying why their card is bad. The final round,
- 4:06Speaker 4: which the two people will have to then say why
- 4:09Speaker 4: they think THEIRS is worse than the other person's. And
- 4:12Speaker 4: this is kind of like how you play the game
- 4:14Speaker 4: super Fight. If anyone's ever played that my kid loves
- 4:17Speaker 4: that game. You basically have these made up heroes and
- 4:20Speaker 4: you just argue the hell out of your heroes, say
- 4:22Speaker 4: why they're better. In this case, we're going the opposite,
- 4:25Speaker 4: so why they're worse. So I'm just going to start
- 4:27Speaker 4: off from the first person. I have a DM from
- 4:30Speaker 4: on the way at least is most recent DM from
- 4:33Speaker 4: is Cole. Cole's worst unique submission is from Muna, since
- 4:39Speaker 4: I don't know if he plays anything else. It is
- 4:42Speaker 4: a Muna Druid. This has a cost of three and
- 4:45Speaker 4: three for both costs. Its stats are three to three,
- 4:48Speaker 4: three all the way down. Normally this is played regularly
- 4:53Speaker 4: in common for them. I guess I should not say
- 4:57Speaker 4: that part. If you control three or more characters, reduce
- 4:59Speaker 4: my one and then it has a quick action, which
- 5:04Speaker 4: is the standard managery. A quick action anchor a character
- 5:09Speaker 4: with three or less that is your card. Col Why
- 5:13Speaker 4: is this your worst unique?
- 5:16Speaker 1: All right?
- 5:17Speaker 5: I think mainly this card just kind of makes me
- 5:21Speaker 5: mad because when you pull a unique, you want something good,
- 5:27Speaker 5: and when I pull a Muna Unique, I want it
- 5:31Speaker 5: to be good even more. And you might look at
- 5:36Speaker 5: the stats and the cost and be like, oh, it's
- 5:38Speaker 5: not too bad, but the ability is just insulting. If
- 5:43Speaker 5: you control three or more characters, which is kind of
- 5:47Speaker 5: already hard for Muna, you reduce its cost by one okay,
- 5:52Speaker 5: like oh, I don't care. And the from reserve is
- 5:57Speaker 5: also one more than any of their version of it,
- 6:01Speaker 5: which I actually do sometimes use the Muna Druid from reserve,
- 6:07Speaker 5: especially with Tasia if there isn't something that I want
- 6:12Speaker 5: to anchor so I don't think I would ever have
- 6:17Speaker 5: this take up by one of three slots in my
- 6:20Speaker 5: Mouna deck.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Gotcha sounds good and weel uh the cast. I'm putting
- 6:29Speaker 4: the pictures of these things for the cast and see
- 6:31Speaker 4: so it'll be easier for them to vote.
- 6:33Speaker 1: All right.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Next up, I have ogre I believe we were going
- 6:37Speaker 4: with your bottom submission.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Here, ogre Ye.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Let's go with the cadets.
- 6:41Speaker 1: All right?
- 6:42Speaker 4: We have it is mere card shocking. We complain about
- 6:44Speaker 4: them all the time, having suck uniques. We have ortist cadets.
- 6:49Speaker 4: This has a hand cost of two, reserve costs of one.
- 6:52Speaker 4: Its stats are wapping zero zero two. It does have
- 6:56Speaker 4: an arrow ability if you control one or more land
- 7:00Speaker 4: to mark create an order to recruit one one one
- 7:03Speaker 4: in target expedition to get you know, another whopping one
- 7:06Speaker 4: one stats. It has a quick action of discard the
- 7:10Speaker 4: next card you The quick action is the next card
- 7:14Speaker 4: you play this afternoon costs one less. Why is this
- 7:18Speaker 4: a bad unique?
- 7:20Speaker 3: Okay? So I think for my argument, what I'm going
- 7:23Speaker 3: to put forward for why this is a bad unique
- 7:25Speaker 3: is I'm going to try to describe to you the
- 7:28Speaker 3: ideal circumstance in which this card could be used. A
- 7:32Speaker 3: landmark is on the table. You're an ismeir, so you
- 7:35Speaker 3: probably paid five plus for that landmark. Maybe we're talking
- 7:40Speaker 3: about Boba's Ezba, right, But if we're talking about Bob's
- 7:42Speaker 3: Easba and you're playing this card, you pay two, you
- 7:48Speaker 3: get a zero zero two on the board, you get
- 7:50Speaker 3: a one one one body. You've got something to sacrifice,
- 7:53Speaker 3: and you theoretically have you know, a target for your ease.
- 7:57Speaker 3: But now, fair enough, is that worth a unique slot?
- 8:02Speaker 3: I don't think. So Let's say that, as most often
- 8:06Speaker 3: happens when we're cycling through our decks and we're trying
- 8:08Speaker 3: to play our uniques, you don't always get to play
- 8:11Speaker 3: them in their dream circumstance. A lot of times you're
- 8:14Speaker 3: going to draw this thing. You don't have a landmark
- 8:16Speaker 3: on the table, you never got around to it, and
- 8:19Speaker 3: at that point you're paying two for a zero zero two.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I had this discussion with Cole earlier today. I have
- 8:28Speaker 3: feelings about a stat block that includes not one, but
- 8:32Speaker 3: two zero's, and none of those feelings are positive. I
- 8:38Speaker 3: think this card is worthless. I think the best thing
- 8:43Speaker 3: that you can say about this card is that you
- 8:46Speaker 3: were never going to play the other version of it anyway,
- 8:50Speaker 3: and that's not really much to come at from a
- 8:52Speaker 3: positive point of view.
- 8:56Speaker 4: All right, so very strong words there.
- 9:01Speaker 1: M hm.
- 9:03Speaker 4: I'm just loading this up for our Our audience can
- 9:05Speaker 4: see these pictures as well if you have never thought
- 9:09Speaker 4: about coming to listen to us. We have a live
- 9:11Speaker 4: cast every what is Day Fridays for that and our
- 9:16Speaker 4: next uh person that I'm going to be sharing. Let's
- 9:19Speaker 4: go down the list. I have Wookie Wookie submitting a
- 9:28Speaker 4: so we decided it was actually dracana.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 4: They even though they acknowledged that the word was not that.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Yeah that in English. Thanks to our plant expert Coal,
- 9:40Speaker 3: we were all taught that it's pronounced, but they said
- 9:44Speaker 3: that for for their world, their world building. They wanted
- 9:49Speaker 3: it to be pronounced Stracina to point at the the
- 9:53Speaker 3: relation to the my mythological.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Creature right rrect yep.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Mm hmm, all right, card was it Zeke?
- 10:05Speaker 4: Well? Oh yeah, uh so the Dracana card. I was
- 10:09Speaker 4: the one that said I was gonna call it that
- 10:11Speaker 4: no matter what. Uh So, the this one is a
- 10:15Speaker 4: bravos racana. So it is out of faction unique. It
- 10:19Speaker 4: is three from hand to play, two from reserve. Its
- 10:23Speaker 4: stats are two to one two on play from hand only.
- 10:27Speaker 4: It gains anchored at noon. You may discard a card
- 10:30Speaker 4: from your reserve. If you do, it gets a whole
- 10:32Speaker 4: one boost and as a quick action up the one
- 10:35Speaker 4: target cute character gains fleeting. Okay, why do you think
- 10:39Speaker 4: this is your worst unique?
- 10:41Speaker 2: Because you told me it was.
- 10:45Speaker 4: This is true.
- 10:45Speaker 5: This is that way down argument.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I thought it was. You said it is not your Tanuki,
- 10:53Speaker 2: it is your Dracana. I mean I'm looking at the og,
- 10:58Speaker 2: the the raars and the nique, so it stat line
- 11:01Speaker 2: is kind of on par. The only thing it loses
- 11:05Speaker 2: is one from reserve. It doesn't the rare grow well
- 11:10Speaker 2: the rare. I was just say that the only thing
- 11:12Speaker 2: so if this one at noon you have to discard
- 11:14Speaker 2: a card from your reserve to gain a boost. The
- 11:18Speaker 2: other ones just gain it naturally.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Also, doesn't the original one have an arrow instead of
- 11:25Speaker 4: a hand.
- 11:25Speaker 1: It does.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Yes, So I am emotion, I am sail argument more
- 11:33Speaker 2: and more as I compare, and could trast the two,
- 11:37Speaker 2: but I can't quick actually give a card fleeting.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's not good.
- 11:44Speaker 5: I think the really hard part about this one is
- 11:49Speaker 5: at noon is a great text to have on a Dracana,
- 11:55Speaker 5: but then.
- 11:57Speaker 2: A better than it.
- 11:59Speaker 5: Well being and Bravos and the fact that you have
- 12:02Speaker 5: to discard from reserve. I was going to try to
- 12:06Speaker 5: make a case.
- 12:06Speaker 2: For it, but I don't know every other your cata
- 12:11Speaker 2: just okay, so let's let's here's the moon of one.
- 12:13Speaker 2: At noon, I gain one boost, just doesn't does it
- 12:16Speaker 2: on its own? Also moon and the moon a rare.
- 12:21Speaker 2: At noon, I gained two boosts. Yep, okay, yes that's
- 12:26Speaker 2: And then there's the Bravos version. At noon, I gained
- 12:29Speaker 2: one boost. So literally all the other ones do it
- 12:32Speaker 2: on their own. This one you have to get rid
- 12:35Speaker 2: of a resource well, and all.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Three other ones are an Arab affected.
- 12:42Speaker 2: So in every circumstance of this card, except for the
- 12:45Speaker 2: giving a creature fleeting. It is worse. It has a
- 12:50Speaker 2: little bittline, but that's about it.
- 12:53Speaker 3: That's what I'd like to call it. An algorithmic failure.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Yeah, this is empirically worse in every way than every
- 12:59Speaker 4: other ration, even.
- 13:00Speaker 1: The common one.
- 13:03Speaker 3: I get they consider the fact that it has a
- 13:07Speaker 3: quick action a benefit. I think like they waited in
- 13:11Speaker 3: their algorithm. I man in Bravos, that's like the last
- 13:18Speaker 3: faction because they can't afford to just chunk a card
- 13:21Speaker 3: out a reserve like everybody else can.
- 13:24Speaker 4: That's why that assumed the Sun card. It's actually not good,
- 13:28Speaker 4: like it's can't afford to lose an actual playable card
- 13:32Speaker 4: for one boost.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I can now agree with you on this versus
- 13:35Speaker 2: the new key, because yeah, this is pretty.
- 13:38Speaker 4: That's a new key can at least avotage twice. Cycle
- 13:42Speaker 4: is true?
- 13:44Speaker 2: From hand?
- 13:45Speaker 4: Isn't it an arrow?
- 13:47Speaker 2: It was only from hand hold on the.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Normal ones from hand? I think your unique.
- 13:51Speaker 2: What is an arrow?
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah, you are right, that's a significant difference.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yes, that is a significant difference. So yeah, that is
- 13:57Speaker 2: my worst.
- 13:59Speaker 4: All right already, I'm now depressed.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Thank you, I've.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Already qued up Dexter's I know that was on the
- 14:05Speaker 4: order I said, But let's talk about Dexter. Dexters submitting
- 14:09Speaker 4: a lera card. So that's a fourth faction from us
- 14:12Speaker 4: as MORELDA two costs from hand, three costs from reserves
- 14:16Speaker 4: that are three zero one. It has an narrow effect
- 14:20Speaker 4: if you control one or more landmarks, resupply and then
- 14:24Speaker 4: at dusk you may pay one. If you do, you
- 14:27Speaker 4: may return a card other than me from your reserve
- 14:30Speaker 4: to your hand. Maybe Dexter didn't understand the goal here.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Well, it's.
- 14:39Speaker 4: None of them were real bad because this is unique.
- 14:43Speaker 4: You're pulling way way.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Bad your weight class. Holy, this is this is a.
- 14:49Speaker 7: Complete side grade. This is a complete side grade. I
- 14:53Speaker 7: don't feel like how it's completely better than the rare
- 14:56Speaker 7: because the rare it's that's our to water and two
- 15:01Speaker 7: in earth is the rare an arrow. This one you
- 15:06Speaker 7: have to have landmark.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Yeah, so we're we're noticing a trend here. Actually, if
- 15:16Speaker 3: you talk about the ones like the last three, actually,
- 15:18Speaker 3: well the last two, anytime you have the algorithm interpret
- 15:23Speaker 3: and ability that doesn't have a cost and add a
- 15:26Speaker 3: cost on, it's almost always worse like that. They they
- 15:33Speaker 3: it seems like the algorithm never gives you enough after
- 15:36Speaker 3: the cost, like a bump from whatever the regular one was. Like,
- 15:39Speaker 3: let's say that the cost was you have to have
- 15:42Speaker 3: a landmark, but then I'm going to let you resupply too. Well,
- 15:45Speaker 3: oh man, that's nuts. You can do all kinds of stuff.
- 15:47Speaker 3: You can start justifying landmarks with that, but it's literally
- 15:50Speaker 3: just what the rare does. But you have to be
- 15:54Speaker 3: a criteria.
- 15:55Speaker 7: Now it's not a bonus effect that's better than the rare.
- 15:59Speaker 7: It's just still supplying, but now you need a landmark,
- 16:02Speaker 7: which this.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Which marks.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah, the algorithm loves putting conraditions.
- 16:12Speaker 4: There are some I saw one time. One time I
- 16:14Speaker 4: should have saved it. I had three conditions and one
- 16:17Speaker 4: one thing. Oh man, I gotta find that one day.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Okay, that's I just wanted to point out that that's
- 16:23Speaker 3: like the card that I submitted. Take the regular version
- 16:27Speaker 3: of the card and a landmark into the requirement to
- 16:30Speaker 3: get the ability. The card that WILLKIE submitted. Take the
- 16:34Speaker 3: regular ability at a discard effect.
- 16:38Speaker 4: We'll remove the arrow and make the arrow a hand.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Dex's we're back on this landmark train.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Mh yep, all right. Our final competitor is Noble. Uh
- 16:56Speaker 4: he is submitting an Axiom card. So yeah, we have
- 16:59Speaker 4: five complain. I like that that.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I was going to submit an ordest one but.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Done that recently, had this plan for last week, so
- 17:17Speaker 4: it's true.
- 17:18Speaker 1: It's true. Yes, I I found this last week and.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, so it's still good susmission. So we
- 17:23Speaker 4: have just gan assembly overseer in axiom and cost to
- 17:28Speaker 4: reserve costs two stats are one zero four from reserve.
- 17:33Speaker 4: When you play it, you may sacrifice the permanent. If
- 17:36Speaker 4: you do draw a card, it has a quick action.
- 17:40Speaker 4: You may activate the arrow triggers of one permanent you control, Zach,
- 17:47Speaker 4: Why is this our worst So when.
- 17:51Speaker 6: I was looking through this and this the ability about
- 17:54Speaker 6: anytime you have to take anything away from your own board,
- 17:56Speaker 6: right for for an ability, you're the axiom, you're killing
- 18:01Speaker 6: a permanent. Permanent like your permanence are what is likely
- 18:05Speaker 6: driving your your deck engine, right, especially if you're playing
- 18:11Speaker 6: any of the axioms, and the fact that you're the
- 18:15Speaker 6: sacrifice it just to draw card just seemed not like
- 18:20Speaker 6: a really good idea and comparing it even to the
- 18:23Speaker 6: you know, the common or the rare it. It has
- 18:27Speaker 6: the same it's slightly different worded, but the same ability
- 18:30Speaker 6: as far as activating the triggers of a target permanent
- 18:33Speaker 6: you control. But to play it from the reserve, you've
- 18:36Speaker 6: got to kill one of those permanents. So I tho't
- 18:39Speaker 6: just didn't like it. I I'd like to. I don't
- 18:41Speaker 6: know why I'm helping my opponents here, but first argument
- 18:46Speaker 6: against this card.
- 18:48Speaker 4: No, nope, send it down.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Good one denied?
- 18:54Speaker 4: All right, thanks you with that input, Seck had to
- 18:58Speaker 4: moderate like boss.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Okay, so we have yelled him down.
- 19:03Speaker 4: Yes, So we have the five competitive cards. They're all heroes,
- 19:08Speaker 4: of course. So you're sending me a d M. Which
- 19:12Speaker 4: one you think is the worst. You cannot choose your own.
- 19:16Speaker 4: There's the moona Druid from Cole, the Ordest Cadets from Ogre,
- 19:21Speaker 4: Dracina from Wookie as Morelda from Dexter, and gann assembly
- 19:27Speaker 4: Overseer from Noble. All right, I've got one vote, I've
- 19:32Speaker 4: got two votes. I've got three votes. Dexter, you got
- 19:38Speaker 4: to send me a.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Vote over get everybody else's vote, and then he could
- 19:47Speaker 3: just say his out loud.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Okay, we have a four to one because Wookie couldn't
- 19:53Speaker 4: vote for himself.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Ebody, you said you couldn't vote for yourself. I'm like,
- 20:01Speaker 2: I don't know what to vote for now at this point.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Uh So, I don't know if we need to do this,
- 20:09Speaker 4: but we should.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Who's the one vote?
- 20:12Speaker 2: The one vote was my vote because I'm not allowed
- 20:15Speaker 2: to vote.
- 20:15Speaker 4: For my assembly overseer. So so all right, there's the
- 20:19Speaker 4: show now, Woki versus Zach. He's got a lead, obviously.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I don't think I need to say anything. I think
- 20:25Speaker 2: Zach just needs to tell me why his is worse
- 20:27Speaker 2: than mine.
- 20:29Speaker 1: This is this wild you're worse than this is how
- 20:34Speaker 1: I went against the son.
- 20:35Speaker 6: If he doesn't want to say anything about his character, I'll, I'll,
- 20:38Speaker 6: I will light up my character.
- 20:40Speaker 1: So why this character is so bad? One?
- 20:43Speaker 6: It the stat line? Granted it is the same, you know,
- 20:47Speaker 6: but I'm paying two for five stats. You're paying three
- 20:50Speaker 6: for five stats. But you're staying anchored, right, You're killing
- 20:55Speaker 6: a permanent, you know, discarding the card from your reserve.
- 20:59Speaker 6: You can always refill your reserve, but a permanent is
- 21:02Speaker 6: something that you paid manafor that you're likely going to
- 21:06Speaker 6: need to drive the engine of your deck and you're
- 21:08Speaker 6: killing one just to draw a single card. Tray starready
- 21:11Speaker 6: has ability to draw cards. Uh, there's I think there's
- 21:15Speaker 6: some other draw abilities in some of the other heroes.
- 21:17Speaker 6: But it just it doesn't feel good to have to
- 21:20Speaker 6: kill your own stuff, whereas you know the Cane has
- 21:24Speaker 6: only discarded a card from a reserve again for what.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Well, yeah, and you get a boost from that, I
- 21:29Speaker 1: don't know.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Worse than the common or rare version in every conceivable notion.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 5: I was gonna say, do we get to add one comment?
- 21:41Speaker 5: Or is it just these two versus each other.
- 21:43Speaker 4: They're supposed to be versuing each other, but I can't
- 21:45Speaker 4: stop the pedap gallery.
- 21:47Speaker 5: I will say just one small comment. Sierra doesn't think
- 21:52Speaker 5: this assembly is oversere? Is that mad?
- 22:01Speaker 3: I disagree, but I think it's still bad.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I said not that bad.
- 22:08Speaker 3: You know you know what? My this is the thing
- 22:10Speaker 3: I was going to say earlier that that Zach wouldn't
- 22:13Speaker 3: let me say. Not Zach, Sorry, Zach, you really like
- 22:17Speaker 3: we do just give you the guilt by association. It's okay, okay,
- 22:21Speaker 3: So I would like any of you to tell me
- 22:23Speaker 3: the last time that you played against the g N
- 22:26Speaker 3: I've never seen him play anybody time in from the back. Okay,
- 22:32Speaker 3: there you go, there's your argument.
- 22:35Speaker 7: It's just a bad card.
- 22:37Speaker 3: I could be said that day.
- 22:44Speaker 6: We actually have three different g ns, three three g
- 22:47Speaker 6: N uniques, and all of them are like we yeah,
- 22:51Speaker 6: like literally take them out and put them in the recycling.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Because I will say what I will say this, I
- 22:58Speaker 3: am still sticking with the Racina is the worst because
- 23:02Speaker 3: there is a conceivable deck archetype that runs armor Jammer
- 23:08Speaker 3: and potentially like we may see more cards like that
- 23:11Speaker 3: one where you have to be able to play them
- 23:13Speaker 3: and then get rid of them to benefit from bonus effects.
- 23:16Speaker 3: And Cole is right that the quick action in certain
- 23:20Speaker 3: axiom heroes is valuable, whereas nothing about Wookie's card is value.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Again, you're supposed to be the moderator. Don't even even beck.
- 23:33Speaker 4: On the gn The quick action is discarded to trigger
- 23:37Speaker 4: a permanent.
- 23:38Speaker 3: So you can you can already regular.
- 23:42Speaker 6: Yeah, it's it's different, it's slightly different worded, but it's
- 23:45Speaker 6: the same ability.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Right, This is just activate the trigger abilities.
- 23:48Speaker 3: This whole unique is just like a it's a stat
- 23:50Speaker 3: reshuffle from from the regular card and.
- 23:53Speaker 7: Then it gives a play from reserve ability.
- 23:56Speaker 3: More or less again, unless you're running rare armor Jammer specifically.
- 24:03Speaker 5: Which has become more popular, and.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Normally I would have had all d M me again.
- 24:11Speaker 4: So we're gonna all vote on three and say the
- 24:14Speaker 4: name of the winning card. The card as a three two.
- 24:21Speaker 2: There it is.
- 24:22Speaker 4: Looking congratulations you Scar of altered corner. A way to
- 24:33Speaker 4: put this up on the site somehow you should frame this.
- 24:35Speaker 5: Card when I post the episode, update it to the
- 24:42Speaker 5: most recent one on the website, I will put a
- 24:44Speaker 5: little gallery of.
- 24:45Speaker 4: These uniques is its own, like little Pig the worst Uniques.
- 24:50Speaker 2: If we do that, then I'll have to I feel
- 24:53Speaker 2: like we should like pull the audience to like, what
- 24:55Speaker 2: what is the worst kid? Do you have a unique
- 24:57Speaker 2: that could beat this m M.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Audience the opposite of the other site?
- 25:07Speaker 3: Right, we did ours, but like two two, three casts
- 25:10Speaker 3: from now, we give we give them a little bit
- 25:11Speaker 3: of time for submissions.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, the discord or whatever, and maybe maybe we'll say, like, oh,
- 25:17Speaker 2: by the by, by the start of next year, let's
- 25:20Speaker 2: see what gets sent in and kind of go from
- 25:22Speaker 2: there or whatever. We'll we'll mention it. But like I
- 25:25Speaker 2: don't know, like yeah, like again just that a lot
- 25:27Speaker 2: of fun comparing it, It's like, wow, it's worse than
- 25:30Speaker 2: every conceivable notion, Like how would I ever like how
- 25:35Speaker 2: would I trade this card? Except for somebody's like, well,
- 25:37Speaker 2: I'm collecting collecting cards and I just I don't have
- 25:41Speaker 2: I'm a fan of cards.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Well, every Robinhood Unique is pretty trish.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Wow.
- 25:52Speaker 3: It had made an altar of of robin Hood cards
- 25:57Speaker 3: as a shrine for all the the old Robinhood players.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I feel like you should put the music in the
- 26:02Speaker 2: the what is that the defeat music in the background, Like,
- 26:07Speaker 2: put it on a page on our website and just
- 26:08Speaker 2: have every robin Hood Unique there a small slide show
- 26:15Speaker 2: like us come Back?
- 26:17Speaker 3: You know that, you know that late night infomercial Least
- 26:19Speaker 3: Come On, Dexter's too Young, But like it had the
- 26:22Speaker 3: lady that was trying to save the gorillas or whatever,
- 26:24Speaker 3: and they would always play the like mega sad song.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Yeah in the there you go you're talking about Sarah mc.
- 26:35Speaker 1: No. That was for the dogs.
- 26:36Speaker 3: That wasn't for yeah, but I swear there was a
- 26:39Speaker 3: gorilla one.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:40Speaker 6: I was like, did you just mash up two different
- 26:44Speaker 6: too late?
- 26:46Speaker 3: I swear I'm gonna look it up.
- 26:48Speaker 1: It's called Gorilla's and the Miss that's what.
- 26:50Speaker 2: That was a movie with Ripley from Aliens. I can't
- 26:54Speaker 2: remember her name. She's Ripley from Aliens.
- 26:58Speaker 1: There you go.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I couldn't remember her name.
- 27:00Speaker 4: But yeah, all right, moving not that was fun, graduates.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Thank you? I've won. What's my price? Do I get?
- 27:09Speaker 2: Like a good unique now? Like I trade this one
- 27:11Speaker 2: in or.
- 27:13Speaker 3: We will acknowledges.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess.
- 27:21Speaker 4: All right, somebody posted one of more audience posted something.
- 27:24Speaker 4: But you know what, guy, it immediately has an arrow
- 27:27Speaker 4: that's is anchored, so it's already better.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Than wookies does have less stats.
- 27:33Speaker 5: Getting rid of one of your man at orbs to
- 27:35Speaker 5: take out a permanent is pretty pretty harsh, though it
- 27:38Speaker 5: hurts it is. You may though, so you don't have to.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's also bad, like those are actually fairly close.
- 27:45Speaker 4: I still think we'll get it. Does it up just
- 27:47Speaker 4: a little.
- 27:48Speaker 3: You may discard one of your man at orbs? Oh no,
- 27:51Speaker 3: but absolutely not.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Well numbers you don't have to. But I mean, if
- 27:56Speaker 2: you got that sticky permanent that you got to get
- 27:58Speaker 2: rid of, and you know you don't have a you
- 28:02Speaker 2: know I did?
- 28:04Speaker 1: Uh?
- 28:04Speaker 5: I did play a kojo that got up to eleven
- 28:07Speaker 5: mana against me very quickly. They would love it.
- 28:11Speaker 4: I don't think they'll love that.
- 28:16Speaker 6: Uniques you're gonna put in your deck. You're not gonna
- 28:18Speaker 6: put this in your I gotta plan play all your permanence.
- 28:25Speaker 6: I'm gonna discard my whole man.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Set, all right, All right, let's move on to the
- 28:31Speaker 2: metal line of the week. What's that sponsored by Carls Jr.
- 28:37Speaker 5: No, it was sponsored by Carls Junior before.
- 28:39Speaker 2: We need no one sponsored by Wendy's.
- 28:44Speaker 6: So the metal line of the week is it's real bad.
- 28:49Speaker 6: So in order to have a metal line, to even
- 28:51Speaker 6: know what the meta is, it's very important that you
- 28:54Speaker 6: play altered, uh, you know during the ACE tournaments things
- 28:58Speaker 6: that we have or a wall or you know, just
- 29:01Speaker 6: even in the arena.
- 29:02Speaker 1: And that is something that I have not been doing lately.
- 29:06Speaker 6: Yeah, and once once a season one ended, I've kind
- 29:10Speaker 6: of stepped back.
- 29:11Speaker 1: The robin Hood crash came down. I now, it's it's just.
- 29:21Speaker 6: There's been a lot of other stuff going on, so
- 29:22Speaker 6: I haven't really had the time to devote to play
- 29:25Speaker 6: an altered and so.
- 29:26Speaker 2: I think we need to take metal line of the
- 29:28Speaker 2: week away from Zach. Now that order is no longer meta.
- 29:31Speaker 3: No, he just he's got to he's got to migrate,
- 29:33Speaker 3: He's got to find the next one.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Yeah, we've talked about that.
- 29:36Speaker 4: What does the migration look like? Well, what do you?
- 29:41Speaker 5: What do you I'm going to donate one to Zach.
- 29:46Speaker 6: New hero I will say, okay, so what so a
- 29:49Speaker 6: couple of the things and then we kind of hit
- 29:50Speaker 6: on this with the Robin hood nerves last week when
- 29:52Speaker 6: we talked about it. But the where the meta, or
- 29:57Speaker 6: at least my meta will be shipping to is one
- 30:00Speaker 6: of two heroes, likely either Traced or Fenn. Those are
- 30:05Speaker 6: probably two the top contenders right now.
- 30:07Speaker 3: So welcome to the brother.
- 30:09Speaker 1: You know was great and what the rest of us are?
- 30:13Speaker 6: I still love I still love the idea of it.
- 30:15Speaker 6: It's taken a hit. Hopefully we're going to get some
- 30:18Speaker 6: nice fire beer crats coming in trials by Frost. I
- 30:22Speaker 6: would know, Well, we'll see, I mean, you never know.
- 30:26Speaker 6: But also with that new set release coming in what
- 30:29Speaker 6: two months, that will also dictate the change of a meta.
- 30:33Speaker 8: So.
- 30:34Speaker 2: That one or is it just.
- 30:37Speaker 6: Yeah, just yeah, they won't do the kickstarter for two
- 30:40Speaker 6: three or four.
- 30:41Speaker 2: They said, it looks like I'll have to get some
- 30:43Speaker 2: stuff from z.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Yeah, what is this.
- 30:45Speaker 5: Are you used to some other company.
- 30:47Speaker 2: That game that just does Kickstarter after Kickstarter?
- 30:54Speaker 4: Well, that company has never done a.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Kickstarter, you're correct, didn't even go with the with They
- 31:03Speaker 2: had to go with its lesser cousin game found.
- 31:08Speaker 5: I am going to throw your brain for a loop,
- 31:13Speaker 5: o Zach on the two heroes you picked, talk to me.
- 31:17Speaker 5: What if I told you if you take out one
- 31:20Speaker 5: very good traced player, all of the top spots of
- 31:24Speaker 5: the tournaments for the past two weeks have been Akesha
- 31:28Speaker 5: or a funest.
- 31:29Speaker 6: So I have noticed that the I have been watching
- 31:34Speaker 6: with the A Wall tournament come in from all the
- 31:36Speaker 6: events and stuff, and one Waru is completely missing from
- 31:40Speaker 6: the whole top meadow, right, And that's kind of what
- 31:42Speaker 6: we expected.
- 31:43Speaker 3: But it's gonna take times people do it, just.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Sure, Yeah, they gotta.
- 31:46Speaker 6: They gotta dry the salt from the tears mine included,
- 31:49Speaker 6: and you know, rebuild from the ground up because you
- 31:51Speaker 6: know what I tease, but it I there is a
- 31:57Speaker 6: potential for Akesha or a f for you know, there
- 32:01Speaker 6: are good decks out there.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I think is.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Very one the one that's after you is. I get
- 32:08Speaker 2: those two I always get.
- 32:12Speaker 6: I think a fist is if you understand what the
- 32:18Speaker 6: deck is doing, it is beatable. And I think that
- 32:22Speaker 6: in a top meta play or a top UH, a
- 32:27Speaker 6: top level competition, it's you're not going to see them
- 32:30Speaker 6: go very far with people who know how to handle
- 32:33Speaker 6: or combat what they're trying to do.
- 32:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I will say it is not only a wall.
- 32:39Speaker 5: Though there was a win a Kickstarter box in Ravenna
- 32:44Speaker 5: with sixty one players, Aksha took first.
- 32:49Speaker 3: To to our listeners that don't know Cole's on a
- 32:51Speaker 3: crusade to convince all the rest of us that Akesha
- 32:53Speaker 3: is now. I don't think that Takesha is badly moving
- 33:01Speaker 3: into this new meta, but I don't think she's top contender.
- 33:04Speaker 1: I don't think she's met a line.
- 33:05Speaker 5: I only am scared and hate one specific time type
- 33:10Speaker 5: of Akesha. I should see if that's the kind that one,
- 33:12Speaker 5: because that would be just insane. I don't think, no,
- 33:16Speaker 5: it's not. It doesn't even have any permanence in this one.
- 33:20Speaker 5: So this is just a true blue Akesha. That one
- 33:24Speaker 5: the trace that's been tearing through a wall. Yola Yolo
- 33:28Speaker 5: Achin is just a really good player.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Well, and like at this point, TRACE's absolute worst matchup
- 33:38Speaker 3: is he's He's hiding under a rock somewhere, Like war
- 33:42Speaker 3: is gonna come back, and I still think Trace is
- 33:46Speaker 3: probably up there in contention for top dog, gonna be
- 33:49Speaker 3: for a while. But once, once the Warriors like figure
- 33:53Speaker 3: out where where they fit in now and how they
- 33:56Speaker 3: play without Robin Hood, and they're like, readjust check their
- 33:59Speaker 3: DEA lists out, figure out how they're going to cover
- 34:02Speaker 3: what was kind of a crutch before that, that Trace
- 34:08Speaker 3: number is going to start coming down because even even
- 34:11Speaker 3: without Robin Hood, war is still going to give Trace
- 34:16Speaker 3: players a hard time. And it's one of those like
- 34:21Speaker 3: with the relative absence that I'm seeing in these lists
- 34:24Speaker 3: of Waru players to run into and even then, like
- 34:29Speaker 3: how many Tracers one, two, three, four, It seems like
- 34:34Speaker 3: roughly the same distribution as all these other guys that
- 34:37Speaker 3: are shown up at the top.
- 34:38Speaker 6: I will say that in the latest a Wall tournament
- 34:42Speaker 6: there was a five and one place seventh war Room Mac.
- 34:46Speaker 1: But it is a very very different deck.
- 34:49Speaker 6: It is like you said, it like there's a few
- 34:52Speaker 6: I mean, it has the same a lot of the
- 34:54Speaker 6: key parts that the typical war Wu does, and it
- 34:57Speaker 6: is going to if it meets up against Trace slap
- 35:00Speaker 6: it right back down.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Likely.
- 35:01Speaker 3: So yeah, we're gonna see like without Robin, I think
- 35:04Speaker 3: Warrior players are going to start running things like the
- 35:06Speaker 3: Council again. And the Council is a card that, like,
- 35:08Speaker 3: it's not a bad card, but I think we've had
- 35:10Speaker 3: a conversation before where a lot of decks just don't
- 35:13Speaker 3: care when when you play the Council. Trace cries himself
- 35:17Speaker 3: to sleep when he's up against like particularly in Warrior,
- 35:21Speaker 3: because you can sleep one and then play one in
- 35:23Speaker 3: the other lane and now none of their cards do anything.
- 35:26Speaker 5: I also hate it.
- 35:28Speaker 3: So so I'm thinking we're going to see a lot
- 35:33Speaker 3: more councils. Kats is going absolutely nowhere, Leggate's going absolutely nowhere.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Attorney will still stay a part of it.
- 35:43Speaker 6: Attorney might calm, man, Now, you only wanted to go
- 35:48Speaker 6: to Common because you don't have rares.
- 35:50Speaker 1: That's why you want that to happen.
- 35:53Speaker 3: What's the difference between I've never actually seen it.
- 35:55Speaker 7: It's just one cheaper Okay.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they're gonna keep running.
- 36:02Speaker 5: Rare in in the in the server. Maddox Maddox Faction
- 36:08Speaker 5: is still trying with Waru. I think I think he's
- 36:12Speaker 5: dedicated to figuring it out. I also know he's preparing
- 36:15Speaker 5: for packs, so we'll see if that Warrior deck shows
- 36:19Speaker 5: up there or something else.
- 36:21Speaker 6: This the Warrior deck that he played on this last
- 36:25Speaker 6: a wall looks like he went born too, and it
- 36:29Speaker 6: is a very similar deck to what he played in
- 36:33Speaker 6: our A Season one championship, similar but obviously some changes.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Is he running three council back then?
- 36:39Speaker 1: No?
- 36:40Speaker 3: No, there's three council in the ear?
- 36:42Speaker 1: That was.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Okay, still three meadows.
- 36:50Speaker 1: The Athena he was running, and that was.
- 36:54Speaker 4: Oh he's the one with the super Athena.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah that one. That one. Uh that was rough.
- 37:00Speaker 1: That's real rough?
- 37:03Speaker 2: All right?
- 37:04Speaker 3: Is is a talk? Didn't this it talk kind of
- 37:06Speaker 3: go out?
- 37:07Speaker 4: Is this it talk?
- 37:07Speaker 3: Coming back?
- 37:09Speaker 1: I think he ran.
- 37:10Speaker 6: I saw him and Pluka both run at least one
- 37:15Speaker 6: is tak in their pre robin nerve.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Into the why I suck it altered? Jaxter, I guess
- 37:26Speaker 2: you're the only one who sucks it altered.
- 37:28Speaker 7: Ever, I think we're gonna skip that for now since
- 37:32Speaker 7: I'm still driving.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Oh, we're gonna skip that for now, since you're still driving. Okay,
- 37:38Speaker 2: all right, are we going into the marketplace research? I
- 37:41Speaker 2: got the worketplace pulled up right here. So what is
- 37:46Speaker 2: a box going for right now?
- 37:48Speaker 7: So?
- 37:48Speaker 2: A box of the Kickstarter beyond the gates? One?
- 37:55Speaker 5: Wow?
- 37:56Speaker 1: That dropped from last week?
- 37:57Speaker 2: Where's that?
- 37:58Speaker 1: That is?
- 37:59Speaker 2: D gamers?
- 38:01Speaker 3: I thought they were completely out of Kickstarter.
- 38:03Speaker 4: I thought they were out too.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Maybe they found some stashed away somewhere. Question Mark, I
- 38:09Speaker 2: don't know. Your next one is eBay at one fifty,
- 38:12Speaker 2: so I mean not a cray. I mean you're you're
- 38:14Speaker 2: looking twenty dollars difference. And then if you watch.
- 38:18Speaker 4: Oh that's their Black Friday sale. It's listed Black Fridays.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Oh is it?
- 38:23Speaker 3: It is still a great price.
- 38:26Speaker 2: It is a Black Friday sale. Wait till Black Friday?
- 38:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I think right now everyone does Black Friday starting now.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Oh that's true because Black Friday is a week later
- 38:38Speaker 2: this week. That's gonna say. It's key it continues to
- 38:41Speaker 2: be like Black November.
- 38:44Speaker 3: I want to point out there that this says this
- 38:45Speaker 3: is a restock pre order. How how where are they
- 38:50Speaker 3: getting from.
- 38:52Speaker 5: From what I have heard? Now, don't quote me on this.
- 38:55Speaker 5: I don't know if it's true they bought a massive amount.
- 39:00Speaker 5: I don't know if they're just shuffling it between locations
- 39:03Speaker 5: or what.
- 39:03Speaker 2: But one of those oh this palette over here got
- 39:08Speaker 2: lost or whatever and they're like, oh, man, we have
- 39:11Speaker 2: a whole other palette or so you don't it.
- 39:13Speaker 5: Happened like I've heard, I've heard estimates of over a thousand.
- 39:17Speaker 3: Boxes, boxes, cases.
- 39:22Speaker 5: I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if it was either.
- 39:24Speaker 3: But it had to have been cases, right because they
- 39:26Speaker 3: sold it was in the like four to five hundred
- 39:30Speaker 3: range on boxes that we saw, like after they had
- 39:34Speaker 3: been selling them for a while, and after they had
- 39:35Speaker 3: opened all their products for singles. However, many casts to go,
- 39:40Speaker 3: so they must have just loaded up.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Which you good on them. But ninety bucks for just
- 39:48Speaker 2: the regular Actually here's one for eighty three. I've never
- 39:51Speaker 2: heard of these guys before. TCG, Moon Blast. Wow. They
- 39:56Speaker 2: were originally asking one hundred and forty five dollars, but
- 39:59Speaker 2: they've got that to eighty three dollars for just a
- 40:03Speaker 2: normal old box.
- 40:04Speaker 3: And beyond the gates, it looks like GG came up
- 40:08Speaker 3: about what like five bucks, didn't They used to be
- 40:10Speaker 3: at eighty four ninety nine.
- 40:12Speaker 2: They've kind of been Yeah, they were like eighty.
- 40:14Speaker 4: Four, they were at eighty four.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Yeah, they've kind of bounced between those two.
- 40:21Speaker 3: So it's coming up. It's coming up slowly. I'm guessing
- 40:24Speaker 3: that's as they whittle through their stock. Right, all right,
- 40:30Speaker 3: it says they have sixteen hundred still available, so.
- 40:33Speaker 2: So no rush weird Black Friday, which is next Friday,
- 40:38Speaker 2: the real one, the real one. All right, Cole, what
- 40:41Speaker 2: do we got for events going on in the December months.
- 40:46Speaker 5: Yeah, if you are listening to this fresh and early Tuesday,
- 40:51Speaker 5: as soon as it comes out, pop in the discord
- 40:54Speaker 5: and you might have time to join a commons only
- 40:58Speaker 5: tournament that we're hosting four the break week, and let
- 41:02Speaker 5: me let me check how many people have signed up,
- 41:04Speaker 5: because I'm probably yeah, I'm about to be annoyed eight
- 41:07Speaker 5: people have signed up when it's probably honestly the most requested,
- 41:13Speaker 5: like alternative format. I see, But then I guess when
- 41:18Speaker 5: it comes down to it, people last minute sign ups
- 41:21Speaker 5: happen anyways, if you.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Hear that, are always huge, right, Yeah, when it's an
- 41:26Speaker 2: event that like is like online, Yeah, for whatever reason,
- 41:31Speaker 2: people procrastinate.
- 41:32Speaker 3: I don't know, although I do think like the off season,
- 41:34Speaker 3: we've had a little bit like lower attendance and it
- 41:38Speaker 3: people are like in the middle of trying to get
- 41:40Speaker 3: ready for the holidays.
- 41:41Speaker 2: And so you're also season. That's the big thing. Yeah,
- 41:44Speaker 2: you have Thanksgiving Day early next week, followed by Christmas
- 41:48Speaker 2: followed by the holiday season is always tough for everyone.
- 41:51Speaker 2: You'll see lower attendance during those times.
- 41:54Speaker 5: Yep, yep. And that's across the board on everything. I
- 41:59Speaker 5: will also say, if you are wanting to pre register
- 42:03Speaker 5: for the altered events that are happening at Packs, you
- 42:10Speaker 5: should do that if you haven't already and you're listening
- 42:13Speaker 5: to this, because they will no doubt sell out. The
- 42:18Speaker 5: ones you can pre register for are the Heroes Journey
- 42:22Speaker 5: events on December eighth, seventh, and sixth. There's multiple of those,
- 42:29Speaker 5: and then the Team Journey, which is a two v
- 42:34Speaker 5: two and I believe there's only one two v two
- 42:39Speaker 5: event and it's twenty four teams, so forty eight people total.
- 42:44Speaker 5: So if you haven't done that.
- 42:47Speaker 4: Zach, go to Packs and played a team of it.
- 42:50Speaker 3: I can't wait to play the team format. I don't
- 42:53Speaker 3: know if anybody else is with me, but like.
- 42:57Speaker 5: It is supposed to be a lot of fun. I
- 42:59Speaker 5: also need to learn it because I am ninety nine
- 43:03Speaker 5: percent sure I have to judge it, and I don't
- 43:06Speaker 5: I don't have anyone to play.
- 43:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the actual rules.
- 43:10Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, So exalts Table actually does have it.
- 43:15Speaker 5: So if we have a free night coming up and
- 43:18Speaker 5: you guys want to play it, I am definitely down
- 43:22Speaker 5: and anyone listening as well. If you hop into the
- 43:25Speaker 5: server and want to test it out, just give me
- 43:27Speaker 5: a ping and I will let you know when I'm available,
- 43:30Speaker 5: and to make sure.
- 43:31Speaker 3: That I'm correct. For that format, the two central cards
- 43:35Speaker 3: that let you make the l between the other tunnel cards,
- 43:38Speaker 3: they just made those available, right like you print them
- 43:40Speaker 3: off online somewhere. Is that accurate?
- 43:45Speaker 5: I actually don't know, But there is a whole article
- 43:48Speaker 5: on the two v two format. I actually didn't even
- 43:54Speaker 5: know there was a different card. I thought it was
- 43:57Speaker 5: just they made a t.
- 44:00Speaker 3: So there's you have to you have to acquire like
- 44:03Speaker 3: the for for either free for all whatever the multiplayer
- 44:06Speaker 3: formats there are. I think it's two cards, right, it's
- 44:11Speaker 3: a it's two And do you know where they made
- 44:13Speaker 3: those availables?
- 44:14Speaker 1: Act?
- 44:14Speaker 6: No, no, no, it looks like that they've taken, like
- 44:17Speaker 6: I'm looking at the two V two rules that Cole
- 44:19Speaker 6: was just referencing. They put an article onto the sixth
- 44:22Speaker 6: of September and it it.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Crosses as a tee.
- 44:26Speaker 6: But then they have the two they've taken two different
- 44:30Speaker 6: tracks of the three cards and just kind of like
- 44:33Speaker 6: made them at right angles to one another.
- 44:35Speaker 1: And so it looks like that the center location is
- 44:38Speaker 1: the uh like it's just a little bit different.
- 44:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. If you look like
- 44:44Speaker 3: on that image where it's got the all of them,
- 44:48Speaker 3: the two that are in the middle that are like
- 44:50Speaker 3: placed caddy corner unless they've changed things, those are special
- 44:55Speaker 3: cards once you flip them over.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Mmmm.
- 44:58Speaker 3: They they go together to form a little CROs I
- 45:02Speaker 3: say between the other ones. I'll see if I can say, I.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Don't see an image here, so that would.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Have to be I cannot have life from remember where
- 45:09Speaker 3: they posted it.
- 45:10Speaker 5: I can look at the marketing assets or prant and
- 45:14Speaker 5: play I would it's not a officially released format. I
- 45:20Speaker 5: don't think I wouldn't be surprised if they do have that.
- 45:25Speaker 6: If as far as what these rules say, it says
- 45:29Speaker 6: take two sets of Tumult cards form three piles, each
- 45:32Speaker 6: containing two identical Tumlet cards and random Miture three piles,
- 45:34Speaker 6: so there was no special cards for this one specifically.
- 45:38Speaker 6: It looks like these are just the random set or
- 45:42Speaker 6: the normal set.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Excuse men, all right, if.
- 45:45Speaker 5: I find something, I'll share it. The last thing is
- 45:50Speaker 5: I will kick it over to Z for any mention of.
- 45:57Speaker 4: A yes, So for listeners that it will be Tuesday
- 46:00Speaker 4: or after Tuesday. The following week will be December third,
- 46:04Speaker 4: I believe, and that is the date we will start
- 46:08Speaker 4: off our first week of play for season two. I'm
- 46:13Speaker 4: not sure exactly how many weeks will go before the
- 46:17Speaker 4: championship series. I kind of liked where we were last time,
- 46:20Speaker 4: but it might end up being five or six, depending
- 46:22Speaker 4: on what that timeframe was, because I basically wanted us
- 46:25Speaker 4: to finish season two and have that championship week basically
- 46:29Speaker 4: the week before the new product launches. So this season
- 46:34Speaker 4: maybe five or six weeks, depending whether we have to
- 46:36Speaker 4: take some time off for the holidays, but it'll be
- 46:39Speaker 4: best of one. Just like last time. We are changing
- 46:41Speaker 4: the start time to six thirty Central Time, and then
- 46:46Speaker 4: we'll finish with that championship invite only, and just like before,
- 46:51Speaker 4: you'll get an invitation for being the first or second
- 46:54Speaker 4: each week, and then the rest of the spots, however,
- 46:57Speaker 4: many spots that happens to be will be complete by
- 47:00Speaker 4: the people that are the most points, and just.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Like before, you'll get here's a crazy idea, hear me out,
- 47:07Speaker 2: crazy God, we should do something later, maybe on the weekends.
- 47:14Speaker 4: Yeah, that would be a not and ace event thing.
- 47:16Speaker 1: But like.
- 47:20Speaker 4: We could do some of the off things. I guess
- 47:23Speaker 4: that could.
- 47:23Speaker 5: Be when.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Thirty on like a Tuesday or what day is it Wednesday?
- 47:28Speaker 4: Yeah, we have we've been getting fifty to sixty people
- 47:30Speaker 4: and we're filling their needs.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Man, are you really going may not on a Tuesday.
- 47:35Speaker 4: Which may not mess your needs?
- 47:39Speaker 6: A wall fills a wall fills up sixty four plus
- 47:42Speaker 6: on every Wednesday.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Just about so yeah, I'm not even home by six thirty.
- 47:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:48Speaker 5: And we we tried to all be collaborative in the
- 47:53Speaker 5: online well most of us in the online tournament space,
- 47:56Speaker 5: Like we've talked with Kelan guy garting up something uh
- 48:02Speaker 5: or closely with Simon, and we try not to overlap
- 48:06Speaker 5: each other on the weekend. I mean, we could get
- 48:11Speaker 5: something going possibly I have.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Also so desperate to play anything that isn't like random
- 48:17Speaker 2: as I'll get out right and I just like, I
- 48:22Speaker 2: know your guys are scheduled. You guys all get home early.
- 48:24Speaker 2: I don't get home like man, they mark you off
- 48:28Speaker 2: on Tuesdays. Yeah, but that's my that's that's my game.
- 48:32Speaker 2: That shall not god.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Oh boy.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Mentioned night right. Some of us have other interests.
- 48:42Speaker 1: Yes, I have on the weekends.
- 48:46Speaker 2: That's not when they play Zach song.
- 48:50Speaker 1: But you're advocating for a weekend thing and one day
- 48:53Speaker 1: you're off is.
- 48:54Speaker 2: The one days off a week Yeah, but it's not Wednesday. Wednesday,
- 49:01Speaker 2: I'm in meetings all day so and then I've got
- 49:04Speaker 2: things to do. But I just I just want to
- 49:07Speaker 2: I want to do something. But like you guys start
- 49:09Speaker 2: like six thirty and it's like not even home, eh, you,
- 49:13Speaker 2: I mean.
- 49:14Speaker 5: They can always make Maybe I should.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Just have my iPad next to me while I know, you.
- 49:20Speaker 4: Should just stop playing that dead ass kid. You're not
- 49:23Speaker 4: going to have it legitimately though.
- 49:24Speaker 3: I do like I play on my iPad for like,
- 49:28Speaker 3: if I can't sit down and actually talk, if I'm
- 49:30Speaker 3: watching my kid or whatever, I just carry my iPad
- 49:33Speaker 3: around and play in the tournament while I'm you know,
- 49:35Speaker 3: that sounds really terrible, doesn't it. I say that like
- 49:37Speaker 3: I should be playing with my kid, but instead I'm
- 49:40Speaker 3: following him around and playing watch blueing.
- 49:43Speaker 4: Oh you're you're a teaching your kid what he needs
- 49:46Speaker 4: to watch blue All right?
- 49:50Speaker 1: Should color board, kid? Let's do this.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Yeah, those are the details.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Tuesday, six thirty.
- 49:56Speaker 4: We normally get sixty to eighty people, ten of them,
- 50:00Speaker 4: and we've had a grandle good time. It's nice and fast,
- 50:04Speaker 4: easy to squeeze in on a weekday. The whole dang
- 50:07Speaker 4: thing is normally done in two hours, much much sooner
- 50:10Speaker 4: if you're cold.
- 50:14Speaker 5: But that is so that I can cast the rest
- 50:17Speaker 5: of the game dot TV forward slash altered corner.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Yepkay calculated.
- 50:26Speaker 3: If anybody was curious, I did find it. It's in
- 50:28Speaker 3: the the marketing assets that you can get like, okay, that's.
- 50:33Speaker 5: Right, you know, yeah, that's right. I thought it would
- 50:35Speaker 5: be what under.
- 50:36Speaker 3: The under the cards folder under multiplayer you can get
- 50:39Speaker 3: the the central like cross cards. What I don't know,
- 50:44Speaker 3: based on what Zach was just saying, is if they
- 50:47Speaker 3: have done away with these in the rules set like
- 50:49Speaker 3: they had them, they made them available to print everything else.
- 50:52Speaker 3: Maybe they've said, you know what, we're just going to
- 50:54Speaker 3: take two other cards and like kind of prop them
- 50:57Speaker 3: caddy corner, and that's how they're they're saw for it,
- 51:00Speaker 3: so that people don't have to print this extra thing.
- 51:03Speaker 3: I don't know. So maybe that's something we can uh
- 51:06Speaker 3: like find and put the discorde for people that are
- 51:09Speaker 3: listening and want to be able to go out and
- 51:11Speaker 3: try multiplayer themselves.
- 51:13Speaker 4: Yep yep.
- 51:14Speaker 5: I also shared the Exalts table in the stage. I
- 51:19Speaker 5: will post it in the main part of the discord
- 51:22Speaker 5: after this as well. And then, like I said, if
- 51:24Speaker 5: anyone wants to play TVT TWOV two, let us know.
- 51:28Speaker 2: But I will. You don't want to where you do?
- 51:34Speaker 5: Okay?
- 51:34Speaker 1: Cool?
- 51:35Speaker 2: But not on simulator?
- 51:37Speaker 1: No, it's eal it's not TU those central cards. I
- 51:42Speaker 1: I like that's that is slick. I like that all right?
- 51:48Speaker 2: Does that do it for events for us this week?
- 51:52Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 51:53Speaker 2: Perfect? I think I'm not sure who put this one
- 51:56Speaker 2: in here with the uh.
- 51:58Speaker 5: Yeah, it's uh I'll start us off, but it's gonna
- 52:02Speaker 5: be be all of us. So I like the good,
- 52:06Speaker 5: good little boy. I am watched the Trickster interview with
- 52:11Speaker 5: Justin who is the organized play manager for Altered and
- 52:18Speaker 5: I took bullet points because Blue in the main discord
- 52:24Speaker 5: asked to get a summary, and it's a good topic
- 52:28Speaker 5: for us to talk about. So I will go point
- 52:31Speaker 5: by a point, and then if you want to stop
- 52:33Speaker 5: me and jump in, just go ahead, or if you
- 52:36Speaker 5: have thoughts at the end. So there's obviously been some
- 52:42Speaker 5: concern about the game growth in North America and what
- 52:46Speaker 5: Equinox is doing or has done. Of course, there are
- 52:52Speaker 5: more things coming next year that haven't been announced yet.
- 52:56Speaker 5: But you might not think it, but a big amount
- 53:01Speaker 5: of money has been put towards the US OP. It's
- 53:07Speaker 5: just been really hard because of how everything is spread out,
- 53:12Speaker 5: and it's just a lot easier over in you know,
- 53:16Speaker 5: France and Italy where it's not a spread out. And
- 53:20Speaker 5: then of course there is the you know, it's a
- 53:23Speaker 5: French game, they're gonna support it hard.
- 53:27Speaker 3: Can you clarify? I had misread that when you, I
- 53:29Speaker 3: guess shared it. I thought that what you were saying
- 53:32Speaker 3: is that he clarified that a lot of money had
- 53:35Speaker 3: been put into trying like things that haven't happened yet
- 53:40Speaker 3: that are coming down the pipe for US based op
- 53:42Speaker 3: for like them to try to ramp it up. Here,
- 53:44Speaker 3: you're saying he said they've already sunk a bunch of resources.
- 53:48Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, And I would say, from my standpoint, I
- 53:54Speaker 5: think that is probably true because you know, I'm a
- 53:58Speaker 5: person who did the road shows. They did a road
- 54:01Speaker 5: show before the kick started launched, and they did a
- 54:05Speaker 5: summer road show after.
- 54:07Speaker 3: But road shows, those those aren't part of the actual
- 54:10Speaker 3: like it's to get people part of like advertising its stuff, right.
- 54:15Speaker 5: I mean, with a team of like ten people, it's
- 54:18Speaker 5: the same it was to get the you know word
- 54:22Speaker 5: out in the US a lot more interesting.
- 54:24Speaker 3: I just wouldn't categorize those is like the same category.
- 54:29Speaker 5: I guess I would say that the way they did
- 54:32Speaker 5: it is and I was obviously paid, and I am
- 54:36Speaker 5: one person in one metro, and they did it across
- 54:39Speaker 5: the country.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Uh.
- 54:41Speaker 5: And then there was you know, the Gamers Guild thing
- 54:44Speaker 5: and some other things. There are future things coming, so
- 54:48Speaker 5: that could also include that.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Hmmm.
- 54:54Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm extra skeptical of that statement.
- 54:58Speaker 4: I disagree with what he's saying about the marketing part,
- 55:00Speaker 4: Like I am with Ogre that I I I gave
- 55:05Speaker 4: a different company a lot of shit about improperly marketing
- 55:09Speaker 4: a game not too long ago, and that's why I died.
- 55:13Speaker 6: But when you when you say improperly marketing, you mean
- 55:20Speaker 6: zero marketing, right.
- 55:21Speaker 4: Like yeah, like like stuff that you see, So like
- 55:24Speaker 4: I am, I would also be interested to know. I
- 55:28Speaker 4: will agree with what you're saying. Is marketing like road shows,
- 55:32Speaker 4: OP events, op price packs at stores. That is your
- 55:36Speaker 4: is a marketing budget. That is where that falls under
- 55:39Speaker 4: when you're launching a game. So I get that part
- 55:42Speaker 4: of it. I do see that, and that they've done
- 55:44Speaker 4: a pretty good job about getting the the product in
- 55:49Speaker 4: the stores hands that sign up for it.
- 55:52Speaker 3: That's That's where I'm coming at it from. I just
- 55:54Speaker 3: feel like what the Roads were accomplishing was getting people
- 55:56Speaker 3: to the kickstarter and getting people to I ended that
- 56:00Speaker 3: early online product. I don't think it was doing much
- 56:02Speaker 3: to help get people into stores.
- 56:05Speaker 4: And that's where I was going, just like I don't
- 56:07Speaker 4: think most stores have a reason to seek that out though,
- 56:11Speaker 4: because like even in our local area where we tried
- 56:14Speaker 4: to get multiple stores on board in this Uston's a
- 56:18Speaker 4: big card game area, it wasn't easy and we only
- 56:23Speaker 4: have like one in two halves basically at the moment.
- 56:30Speaker 5: Yeah, And to be fair, he didn't say those were
- 56:33Speaker 5: the things. He just had a statement like, I know
- 56:36Speaker 5: it's rough, and I want to see it, you know,
- 56:38Speaker 5: grow I'm American living in America. He's like, we're working
- 56:43Speaker 5: on it. He's like, you'd be surprised to know that
- 56:46Speaker 5: it is actually the most like resources I am saying
- 56:50Speaker 5: from my side, I can see how that's easily true
- 56:55Speaker 5: just looking at the manpower from gen Con road shows.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Kind of loan. So I talked to said Dead Card
- 57:03Speaker 2: Games leadership, just having a chat and kind of talking
- 57:09Speaker 2: about it, you know, gen Con alone for said Dead
- 57:13Speaker 2: Card for the card game to which not shall not
- 57:15Speaker 2: be named, right for their their small booth they had
- 57:18Speaker 2: and all the things they did asto about thirty thousand dollars,
- 57:25Speaker 2: which wasn't like that that just included like floor space
- 57:32Speaker 2: that they you know that's not including is not cheap
- 57:36Speaker 2: and that now imagine also doing that, I gotta imagine packs.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Is it kind of in the same vein like very
- 57:43Speaker 2: very similar, you know, budget.
- 57:45Speaker 3: Wise, Yeah, if they're if they're having to pay to
- 57:47Speaker 3: get product transported, they're assuming they're going to have any
- 57:49Speaker 3: available and everything else, like.
- 57:50Speaker 5: It's that's a whole endeavor, that's that's.
- 57:55Speaker 2: To be there, right, like because yeah, it's it's not cheap.
- 57:58Speaker 3: Yeah, And I do not doubt in the least that,
- 58:03Speaker 3: however successful the road shows were stateside, because I have opinions.
- 58:09Speaker 3: I totally get that that had to have been a
- 58:12Speaker 3: pretty pretty large expense. And there's also like they are
- 58:17Speaker 3: printing and sending a bunch of these oh P packs
- 58:20Speaker 3: out to stores. Again, how well this first round was
- 58:24Speaker 3: executed opinions.
- 58:27Speaker 4: But I I think in one of the articles they
- 58:31Speaker 4: admitted that their launch for the States wasn't assful as
- 58:34Speaker 4: at homes. I think I read something about.
- 58:36Speaker 2: That they're always tough with card games like period of
- 58:41Speaker 2: a story, like it's it is just yeah, it's.
- 58:43Speaker 3: There's there are large barriers to break through to try
- 58:45Speaker 3: to get.
- 58:46Speaker 2: You are literally competing against like because like to think
- 58:50Speaker 2: about like Magic, Pokemon and Yugi are kind of your
- 58:54Speaker 2: top three, right and they've been up there for a longist.
- 58:58Speaker 4: Agree, Wookie, like fab lor Kana.
- 59:02Speaker 2: Sorcery had top five, but it's not great.
- 59:06Speaker 4: They all had great launches. It doesn't I'm not talking
- 59:08Speaker 4: about like where they ended up.
- 59:10Speaker 3: They did have a pretty good launch. I'll give you that.
- 59:12Speaker 3: All three, I would argue not have the best launch
- 59:16Speaker 3: a very.
- 59:17Speaker 4: Enthusiast let's redefine what I'm saying is good because of
- 59:22Speaker 4: some like things that sucked on the logistics. It kind
- 59:26Speaker 4: of held them up later for one of those three,
- 59:28Speaker 4: But all three of them sold out all US product
- 59:32Speaker 4: almost immediately, and players all over the country that wanted
- 59:36Speaker 4: to play the game and for various reasons could not
- 59:39Speaker 4: because all three of them.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Haven't let me finish. But like so, like when you
- 59:45Speaker 2: are breaking in, especially into the TCG market, it's not easy, right,
- 59:49Speaker 2: This isn't an easy thing. Number One, the TCG market
- 59:52Speaker 2: right now is as flooded as it's ever been. The
- 59:55Speaker 2: last time I've seen the TCG market this flooded, I
- 59:58Speaker 2: think was like all five when, like it's been a while,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: everything had a TCG. Battlestar Galactica had a TCG, like
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: literally everything had a TCG at that point. Wwe had
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: a TCG.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Bandel Laura right now has as many TCGs out as
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: we saw like for the past two decades.
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, I will say from because I had I
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: do have a unique perspective. I did road roadshows for
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: both Star Wars Unlimited and Altered Altered. It was a
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: really big push to get as many stores interested as
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: we could, as like the roadshow person I had emails
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: I sent, I called stores. It was incredibly hard. Star
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: Wars Unlimited. They said, these are the two stores you're
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: going to. That's it, that's all we're doing. Both of
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: the games. Even Star Wars was super hard to sell.
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: I went to my like most local game store. I
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: was like, oh, hey, did do you do you guys
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: have any you know, Star Wars Unlimited And the guy
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: behind the counter said, nah, we skipped out on that.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: So like the even the closest like big Star Wars
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: Unlimited hub is the same place I play Altered And
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: it's because it's a great store and they try to
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: support all.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: That they can, right And basically where I was headed
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: to with my whole little speech here is like it's
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: tough to get stores to really sink money, time, resources,
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: floor space into anything unless it's it's Magic, it's Pokemon,
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: or it's u Gio and even sometimes you don't see
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: the yugyoh like Magic and Pokemon. Absolutely like every game
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: store is going to have that. But like some stores
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: like you. I mean you talked about flesh and blood.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: I don't see flesh and blood in some of the
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: game stores near me. Yeah, I wasn't caring. I's not
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: saying fab is a big I'm just saying like there
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: are still pockets that like, oh no, we don't carry
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: flesh and blood or we don't carry you get.
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: The thing is, I don't know, like I don't know
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: how like how like what Equaducts can do to relaunch
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: their game, because like there's some other repsn't some of
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: the reps don't even have like no alter exists, Like yeah,
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: I had to originally contact ours. They're like, let me
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: look if we have that product, and like they they
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: figure figured it out.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: So like the biggest thing is like it's gonna fall
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: on players again. It's just it's going to ask for
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: it to be like, oh, is there any way I
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: can get it and then start something?
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: I will say in this case, players are also up
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: against a unique challenge on that front, right in that
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: it's one thing to ask for a card game, and
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: I'm pecularly a new one right that hasn't found its
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: footing yet, and it's doing it like it primarily its
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: sales are coming retail like that a lot of these
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: Kickstarter TCGs. It's a whole other thing because like the
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: majority of the people that are the driving force behind
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: wanting to get play into stores right now are already
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: or we're already products saturated. And if you're the store
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: looking at that, you're saying, Okay, well they sold how
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: much on the on the Kickstarter before it's ever going
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: to come to me? How much am I going to
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: put on my shelf. On top of the fact that,
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: like we're altered specifically the Kickstarter boxes are juiced compared
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: to the ones that they get access to, and for
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: just from people like that I was talking with, the
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: level of hesitancy was so much higher just based on that,
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: like regardless of anything else, not looking at how the
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: game plays, not looking at like what else is competing
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: for time in the store, anything else. It was just
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: the fact, Oh I see they had this big Kickstarter game.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: Yeah, like Kickstarter games, they hate them. Like, talk to
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: any game store owner that isn't like you know, somebody
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: that's will oh you know, maybe I'll buy a box
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: or two and see what happens. Like they absolutely just
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: spies kickstarter games because it's exactly what you said. The
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: people who wanted to play it I have already bought
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: in a ton of it, so getting more in really
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: isn't helping anybody. And then not only that, the store
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: does feel a little left out because like, well, you
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: just sold all this product direct to consumer, and they're
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: just kind of left out. They don't they don't get
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: to share in any of that profits. So it's really
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: hard to get them interested in it when they're like, well, now, now,
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: I so you want me to support a game where
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: the initial launch I got nothing out of Yeah, I think.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: And I originally, like I had multiple I had sort
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: of some eat of discussions in a few different communities
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: about you know, they were they had some very negative
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: things to say about the game for a number of
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: reasons that I thought were dumb. But one of the
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: things that they said that I think I'm I'm gonna
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: have to eat crow on it about it at this point
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: was that they expressed concern with how juiced the Kickstarter
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: boxes were like and what effect that was going to
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: have on people's desire to spend on retail after the fact.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: And I think we've seen a little bit of that
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: born out. I wonder once trial hits, because that is
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: now like that that resets the playing field a little bit,
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: where all the people that went heavy on the kickstarter
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: they don't have any of it. Theoretically, you've got that
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: seed of players that have all of this this product
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: from the kickstarter and from those of us that have
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: been trying to keep it afloat with retail since maybe
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: you can get a fresh wave of interest and then
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: you like, the marketplace hits and suddenly all these cards
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: that the rest of us are sitting on that are
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: extras are available, so that you know, new players coming
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: in can jump right into play sets of things that
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: they want, maybe even for affordable prices, and like maybe
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: you can you can spark the kindling and really get
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: something going when that happens. But there have been a
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: number of unique challenges that I feel like Altered was
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: up against the other games just weren't even if they
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: did have like a similar number of problems that were
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: just coming from other issues. And I don't know, like
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: I don't know exactly what steps they can take to
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: try to try to minimize the impact that that's had,
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: or at least try to like corse correct, but I
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: will say that every day we email, you know, for
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: a little bit they were able to get ten and
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: twelve and now they're down to four and now they're
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: not firing. And two things I think one that's disheartening
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: but holidays, right yep, telling how much of that is
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: due to the holidays? How much of that is due
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: to we had a robin hood was causing a number
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: of problems. I I hope January spell is like a
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: pretty big change for that. But I think to tie
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: this back to the original, like bullet point, I really
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: think Equinox has to step up and do something differently.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: I get that, like it's harder here in the States,
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: but you kind of like are you interested in this
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: part of the market or not? So here's here you're
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: not gonna be able to see the pro in.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: Europe arkans corner, we say, like the same thing, but
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: what it would like? Okay, so step up and do
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: but what like what is it we want them to do?
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: Like is it in?
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: It's again you gotta find you have to find a way.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: And I don't have the answer, So don't look at me.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: I don't have one.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: I I have a few things. I think that the
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: the way that the oppas were distributed uh much more
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: difficult on Like I don't know. I don't want to
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: go into like the specifics about numbers that I was
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: told because I don't know how factual they were, But
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: from what I've just seen from the store that I'm
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: able to get to and from a few like stories
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: of certain certain stores getting allocated more if you're just
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: doing it based on the quantity of boosters at that
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: store purchases, I get it, they purchase more product you
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: want to give. You want to like theoretically you want
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: to send them more OP. The problem is if a
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: store is buying a ton of product to sit and
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: flip later, like as part of something besides just like
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: what's their active player base? Right, is store buying a
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: bunch of product that are also moving in an online
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: for format afterwards, and they're getting a ton of OP
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: whereas other stores that actually might be actively trying to
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: push but can't get that OP because they don't have
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: the same buying power. Like, there needs to be some
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: way of distributing the OP that isn't tied only to
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: how much product somebody is buying.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Well, there's no reason, like, I mean, there's no reason
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: like there stores should be going without right I mean.
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: And particularly an altered and it doesn't have to be
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: a pack. That's what kills me. Like they could literally
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: just because they have the digital capability, they could do
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: op for stories, for participation and everything else. They could
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: just give us the digital cards and.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Wait for people. There are other people who are like, hey,
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: I want to have something in my hand. I am
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: one of those, Like I don't really like playing digitally.
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: I know, well, but that's the thing is that altered
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: even if you get the digital card, you don't have
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: to play it digitally, like you're going to be able
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: to print those cards out in your collection.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: But it's not right now, that's the thing. It's not that.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: That's that's fair. This is the future case thing.
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: I think there's one distinction that is unfortunate in that
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: Equinox does not have any control over what you just mentioned. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: there is a big A word And that's all I
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: will say. And then I will say there are plans coming.
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: It's it's been in the discord, but they just hired
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: another community manager, so there are changes coming and there
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: are plans especially for North America for next year. And
- 1:10:22Speaker 5: I had a long talk with the guy at my
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: LGS last night because our op did not get enough people.
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: It only got two, And he said, basically, everything has
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: been downhill across the board since Halloween.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: For all card games or for Altered specifically.
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: All card games now downhill. For Pokemon means they still
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: get you know, one row of tables, but even Pokemon,
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: even Magic, all of that has been downhill. And if
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: you pay any attention to Star Wars Unlimited from being yeah,
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: being being a foot in both you know, ponds or whatever, uh,
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: Altered comes out ahead in that regard.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: I heard boxes were down to about sixty bucks retail
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: for for Unlimited, So Unlimited as struggling right now. Especially
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: I'm and I just had a band very similar to Uh,
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: well they didn't. They're not calling it a band, they're
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: calling it a suspension.
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a band from Premiere for Boba.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Yeah, one of the big heroes that a lot of
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: people spent down a lot of money building. Because I mean,
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: I'll tell you what, Like I built my my Altered
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: deck for like seventy five dollars. Now I net deck.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie to nobody, but still seventy dollars
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: isn't bad. Like if one of those cards, like all
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: of a sudden, dropped off the face of the earth.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: I'm not too angry, right, but like those vaders at
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: one point were like one hundred and thirty a piece.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: The bowl and character cards were like eighty five dollars apiece.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: So I mean you're looking at you're probably about three
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: to five bills in.
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I just want to know that that whole long
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: conversation was only bullet point one.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: Yes, Okay, let's.
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: The next couple of bullet points kind of continue the
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: same kind of conversation. So if Ogre there was anything
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: else you wanted to tie in, it'll after this as well.
- 1:12:31Speaker 5: Confluence and Worlds. I'll be honest, I haven't read specifically
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: what the Confluence is, but from my understanding of this
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: conversation is it's going to be their big event called
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: the Confluence, And previously people thought it was only in France,
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: and that was the understanding. There will be one in
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: the United States and there will be one in France.
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: That is just based on the size that they want
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: to do it. That's all that's going to work out,
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: you know, finding a venue, getting that many people, all
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: of that. It's just going to be one for each area.
- 1:13:15Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: The target area for this is May to September. The
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: one in France will be first. So like if the
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: one for France ends up in May or June, then
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: the US is might be July. There it's going to
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: be a big event. They're going to have partners all
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: this stuff, so.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: They don't know what location or they don't have any
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: of this lockdown yet.
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: I mean not that they're going to share, say.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: So in that sense, please.
- 1:13:50Speaker 8: No.
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: I from my once again, my understanding of how I
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: took it is this is going to be its own things.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: Star Wars is doing the Galactic Championship in Vegas. I
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: mean I wouldn't be surprised if that's where the Confluence
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: event ends up, or you know, somewhere like Texas maybe Dallas.
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: Uh there's a very you know I'm hearing over there. Yeah,
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: So in this same timeframe, Uh, Set three the target
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: right now is May. Set four is September ish, and
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: that is going more through like events going through to
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: next year does include the US, and there are other
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: things they're working on that you will find out more.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: Influence what they're these are their their premiere events, their
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: large set scale premiere events, or this is a one
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: time thing.
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: It'll it'll be it's like a world's like, but I
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: think they're aiming to do more than just you know,
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: a world's.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: COMPETI yeah, the Confluence, for the record is like in
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: the lore for the game, that is like the big
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: event that resulted in all the weird stuff that is
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: part of the altered setting. It's it's when the magic
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: kind of broke the world in the way that like
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: imagination started running wild, and it's how civilization got split
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: and all the cool stuff. So it's it's it's a
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: neat thing. Like hopefully there'll be a bunch of events
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: that tie into that idea, assuming there's more to the
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: name than just the fact that they there's like, oh, hey,
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: in the lore of the word confluence was there and
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: that was cool. I have to I have to hope
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: that there'll be some neat tie ins on that front.
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not That's why I just said I'm not
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: one hundred percent sure if there's other info about what
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: kind of event they want to do out there, because
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: that was kind of the first time I've heard it
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: called specifically.
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: That what else you got?
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: All Right, it is not entirely impossible that cards could
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: be buffed in the future. But keep in mind certain
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: cards or heroes as they are now will only get
- 1:16:06Speaker 5: better as more sets come out. As an example, the
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: Era will just get better as more permanence come out.
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: A Fawness will get better as more spells come out,
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: so on, so forth. And that was in response to
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: Robin was just eraded. Do you ever see the chance
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: of buffing some of these, you know, underutilized cards? Justin
- 1:16:33Speaker 5: did say, I'm not one of the game designers. You
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: should get a game designer on to talk about these
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: specific things. But I don't see it entirely impossible.
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: I have just one thing to say about that. If
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: we're going to make the argument that new cards coming out, right,
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: Like if a statement is they can only get better
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: as new cards come out, that can't be true because
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: that new cards coming out cuts both ways. A card
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: that is really good today because doesn't have an answer.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Once an answer is printed, it gets worse, right, Like
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: the nature of card games is that it's always going
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: to be shifting up and down as new cards come
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: out and as new metas shape and everything else. Like,
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: I think, yes, there's definitely room for some of these
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: underrepresented archetypes and cards to grow, But there's also room
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: for things to get trumped because hower creep always happens
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: in these games. There's a number of things that like
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: are just part of the standard that you expect to
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: see a card five years from now, if we're all
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: still here playing Altered, is probably going to buy base
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: be better than the cards that we're playing with today
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: out of Beyond the Gates well.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: And it really depends on like support levels, right, So
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: I mean we again, we don't know what's in the
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: next set. I think there's been a handful of spoilers
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: that have been out there, but you know, who's to say.
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: Next set you know, doesn't have a lot for Lyra,
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: but it has a ton for Mona, right and that
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: with the how they're doing what it's it's one large
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: set and three mini sets. Do I have that right?
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: Or are the too mini sets and one large set?
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: The rise.
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: Trial by Frost is smaller than Beyond the.
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: Gates, I don't I don't think they've committed to a
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: specific pattern, yet I think they've said.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: Maybe I heard a rumor somewhere or was poking around
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: on the Internet and Reddit. I thought it was going
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: to be either two or three like support sets, and
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: then you're going to have one large like beyond the
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: Gate set, and that was going to be like kind
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: of the cycle it winn in.
- 1:18:37Speaker 7: Yeah, that's what I heard, will be one big and
- 1:18:38Speaker 7: then too small, But I don't know if that's completely.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they're still kind of I think they're
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: still trying to figure it out because they've already come
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: back and said that it might not exactly follow that
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: for this as they try to get like you know,
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: the early days.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: And that could change. But again, like you've seen it,
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: like certain archetypes get more support than others another art types. Right,
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: so what's an underrepresented archetype right now could just become
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: better because it's heavily helped in another set.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: Always like card TCGs are change, right, That's that's why
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: people stick with them. That's how you that's basically how
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: you keep your audience. Like things are gonna go up
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: and things are going to go down. Cards are gonna
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: get printed that invalidate previous cards. Cards are going to
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: get printed that make cards have a place that they
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: never had before. Like that's just card games.
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: Right, Uh what were we going to say?
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: We're just saying, but I personally see and I had
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: this discussion in privacy, in private, like in our DMS
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: for the for the cast, I am personally of the
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: opinion I'd love to see them do both buff and
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: NERF passes periodically to affect some of these cards that
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: we're all playing in are just sitting and our binders
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: doing nothing. I'm for it. I think they have of
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: a system in place that lets them do something a
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: card game has never been able to do, and I
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: want to see the muse it. Like for a lot
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: of card games, it doesn't make sense because you don't
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: have the capability to rapidly distribute updates to people without
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: making them do jump through silly hoops to get the product.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: You guys know what, I'm taking a shot at.
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: Oh, let's let's let's have a quick side note here,
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: because I do think that there's been some doom and
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: gloom recently in the community, like the ops going down,
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: things being a little delayed. I think the grass is
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: pretty green over here because there was recently another card
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: game that had a major errata that basically murdered a
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: card and they don't have the same system as Altered.
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: And when they did the reprint of the card Bucky
- 1:20:55Speaker 5: in lor Kana, they said, you can get this new
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: reprint card if you buy a booster box you will
- 1:21:04Speaker 5: get one card one.
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: What's the playable set of the call or man.
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: A booster a bock and what the theory is the
- 1:21:17Speaker 5: way that Altered worded their document on robin hood is
- 1:21:22Speaker 5: there will be something they're doing for players with their
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: robin hoods.
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: Let's let's let's say they did nothing. Let's say they
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: didn't give it and who knows, We don't know, right,
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: Let's say they just asked you to use the print
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: on demand once it comes out. I believe they're estimating
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: it's about a dollar a card if you do a
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: small badge, right, Like, you can't benefit from economy of
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: scale if you're doing a small order. Yep, So that
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: is three dollars to reprint a place set of cards
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: for less than a booster pack of cards. I can
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: get the errata from for whatever I need, right which
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: I get it. You could make the argument they just
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: nerve my card and they want me to spend three
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: dollars to get new copies of it. That's upsetting, fair enough.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: It also means that if they buff a card, I
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: can spend three dollars and get my brand new copies
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: of it.
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: So it is is lark Kna also saying like you
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: have to have this new version of the card to
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: even play with it.
- 1:22:19Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, well yeah, but nobody wants to play with it.
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and I guess now it's meaningless. But like that's dumb,
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: Like it's really dumb. That's not kind of dumb.
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: That's that's that means, don't play Lorca play altered.
- 1:22:32Speaker 5: Yeah, lord, ConA Twitter was very upset rightly, So that.
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: Is it's absurd, it's absurd.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: Well you know that, Yeah, that is absurd. Like if
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: that card was still metter relevant, I'd be like, well,
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: I don't know where I'm selling these.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: I think the biggest insult there is that like when
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: I look at like, I don't know if they still
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: do it all the time, but like a car like
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: Bandai games, right, a lot of times when you buy
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: a booster box of their stuff, you're also getting various
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: what do they call them like, is it toppers something.
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: It's like a little booster pack bonus promo things that
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: you get for buying a whole box instead of buying
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: you know, per pack off of a shelf. And they
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: imagine that rare alt art cards that are super cool
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: and you can't get anywhere else, and like that is awesome,
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: that's nice. But to say, hey, these cards that you
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: already bought that aren't good, We'll give you a copy
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: of it, but only if you buy a hole what's
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: it a lorcan of booster backx one hundred and forty
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: bucks something like that.
- 1:23:39Speaker 5: Yeah, it's over one hundred dollars.
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: Whoa, Yeah, So on that note, I'll gladly take my
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: three dollars to reprint whatever they decide to arrive. Yeah,
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: please in things.
- 1:23:50Speaker 5: Yep uh there. So this one is kind of cool too.
- 1:23:54Speaker 5: Altered has a kind of unique thing in the factions,
- 1:24:01Speaker 5: where people you know, kind of live and breathe their faction.
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: For the organized play, they pick a faction. Some people
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: may decide that based on what perk you get, but
- 1:24:14Speaker 5: then some people just pick without even looking. That's what
- 1:24:17Speaker 5: I did. I just picked Muna didn't even I have
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: still not looked at what the organized play rewards are.
- 1:24:24Speaker 5: I just picked Muna. Something new that they're going to
- 1:24:28Speaker 5: be starting for the first time at PAXU is for
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: the factions, there will be a Expedition Captain. So these
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: are things that plan to reward people for playing certain factions.
- 1:24:47Speaker 5: So it could be like the highest placed Muna player is,
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: you know, that Expedition Captain or something like that. And
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: the question was, what are you guys going to do
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: to kind of reward people for playing things a little different?
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: Aka what about the people that don't play Ortists? So
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: we don't know too much about it yet, but at
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: packs we will, so that's cool. These next ones, I
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: think are pretty quick, so I'll just run through them
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: and then you can say what you will. Out of
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: all the sets being worked on and or finished currently,
- 1:25:31Speaker 5: Trial by Frost is likely Justin's favorite from a thematic
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: and mechanic standpoint. I know some of you will take
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: that a certain way. So Trial by Frost will have
- 1:25:45Speaker 5: something that will change how people see an aspect of
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: Altered that they didn't think about much before. And a
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: seventh bonus card can possibly be won at packs outside
- 1:25:57Speaker 5: of the six already announced oversized hearts.
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: I kind of want an oversized card I have.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: I got a Red Asker. Yeah, because, uh, Julio is
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: a really nice guy. Shout out to Julio Vegas Rocks.
- 1:26:15Speaker 7: I don't want Michael down on b RD. I got
- 1:26:19Speaker 7: that red a Tosker too.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: I won something that I was I don't even remember
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: which which which day it was, but I won. And
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: on the way out he was like, hey man, would
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: you like this too?
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: Yes, sir, yes, right.
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: What the the theory that the discord has gone and
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: run with, because you know, if you give anybody, any
- 1:26:42Speaker 5: fans a little a little piece, they're gonna take it
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: is they are thinking the seventh bonus card, since there's
- 1:26:50Speaker 5: only six factions, will be a neutral card that can
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: be played in any faction.
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: I sincerely not.
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: That's just what That's just what they're saying in the discord.
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: That's not at all hinted or alluded to anywhere.
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: So I I think I am in the camp that
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: really prefers the clean lines drawn drawn between the factions
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: because it lets you do I don't know, it lets
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: you kind of like, if you're not going to play everything,
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: you can really pick a lane and stay in it
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: and feel comfortable there.
- 1:27:25Speaker 4: It's a Giants and Man a conversience card.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27:28Speaker 5: I was gonna say, there's technically already a card that
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: exists that is factless.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: But like that's a token.
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: If you want to print a neutral token, Yeah, I
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: don't know what you're going to use it for it,
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: go for it.
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: I'm all about it, and you're you're how how you
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: see it, and you know what you prefer is valid.
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: But I will say there are a lot of people
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: who would love to see factionless cards.
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: I I All I can say is that I've played
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: a lot of card games at this point, and it's
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: a lot easier to balance cards, period and statement when
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: you know exactly what the like curated pool of cards
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: that they're going to be played with is. I've seen different.
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: I don't want over here because like here's the snaios.
- 1:28:27Speaker 4: There's only two right, it's a metteral relevant, then it's
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: automatically in all decks every day, or it's not melt irrelevant.
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: I don't want either of those exist. Like that's the
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: only two end results, that's the only choice you get.
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: All I know is I heard it's my favorite set
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: and then thematically and any and right anytime, anytime somebody
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: from the company says that usually means that set's dog water, right.
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: I don't think. I don't think that's the case.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: But I have this.
- 1:29:09Speaker 4: You just know, all you know is what the dead
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: one the dead ones speaking.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: That's what we heard, No, because I mean we we
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: heard we heard this from Gavin ver Hay in a
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: Magic set and the Magic set was terrible.
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: But also like this guy's he's on a podcast, he's
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: a representative of the company. He has obligations to say
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: certain things right, like they're they're building up to a release.
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: He's got a hype it Like, sure, he can't get
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: out there and say this set that we're about to release,
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: of the three that we're working on in the future
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: is my least favorite. He can't see that.
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: Well then, but then you say nothing at all, right,
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: like you don't. I don't know if this was prompted
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: or like how I didn't listen to it, So I
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: don't know if it was prompted to be said or
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: like what how how it all went down?
- 1:29:59Speaker 6: But I mean, I like, I like the fact that
- 1:30:02Speaker 6: it's the Trial by Frost coming out in the winter time,
- 1:30:04Speaker 6: like both in Europe and in the US. Like, I
- 1:30:07Speaker 6: think that's very timely, and I think they're they could
- 1:30:10Speaker 6: do a lot of fun things thematically with it, right,
- 1:30:12Speaker 6: with that within the game.
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: So yeah, I'm pretty hopeful. I'm on the the hoping
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: TBF is really gonna hit big.
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:22Speaker 5: I I think I think it's fair to uh take
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: it as it is because one, it's a small team.
- 1:30:30Speaker 5: You know, Magic, all these other card games have so
- 1:30:33Speaker 5: many factors. I could see how a massive team, you know,
- 1:30:38Speaker 5: one person says this is my favorite and then it's like,
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: actually this is trash. But with such a small team,
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: you know, they're probably stoked about this. The other thing
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: is we've been playing the same set since technically February,
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: sometimes some even January, So even just getting new mechanics,
- 1:31:00Speaker 5: new cards, things like that has got to be huge.
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's going to be a breath of fresh air.
- 1:31:05Speaker 5: Yeah, it's going to be the first and only time
- 1:31:08Speaker 5: where it's like we played all these cards for a
- 1:31:11Speaker 5: year and now we finally have new ones.
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: Yeah, you see it. You see the argument a lot
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: like oh this, you know, Altered has only been out
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: for X months, was there we on three months now, September.
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: Yeah, was technically the world.
- 1:31:24Speaker 3: Release, but but like many of the cards have been
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: being played for longer than that.
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: Yeah, And.
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: I think there's something to be said for I don't know,
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: every card game is different. Every card game has a
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: certain expectation, because like, as soon as I say that's
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: a really long time to play one set of cards,
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: somebody is going to pop up in the comments and say, oh, well,
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: Sorcery only does one set a year.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: But like.
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: That's different. That is a boutique card game that has
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: a huge, ridiculous pool of cards, and they're specifically targeting
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: that slower cycle where you're just meant to sort of,
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: you know, chill on the weekends and you're not really
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: like grinding through metas and you're not doing all these things.
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: In a game like Altered, I think you want that
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: breath of fresh air to keep people interested in trying
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: new things and avoid staleness. And I'm so looking forward
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: to it.
- 1:32:23Speaker 5: So I looked up my email to see how long
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: I've been playing Altered. I have been playing since technically
- 1:32:32Speaker 5: December twenty twenty three, oh way, And there are people
- 1:32:36Speaker 5: who were play testing and playing before that who are
- 1:32:41Speaker 5: still playing the game. So yeah, it's a long time
- 1:32:44Speaker 5: to be playing the same cards. A good amount of
- 1:32:48Speaker 5: the cards have changed a little bit, but not like drastically.
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: Apparently Sierra got a lot worse.
- 1:32:56Speaker 5: Yeah, but that's like playtest, Like I haven't even played Latex.
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: All right, what else we got?
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: That's it?
- 1:33:06Speaker 8: Uh?
- 1:33:07Speaker 5: Dexter? Did you give your mom a crop pop?
- 1:33:11Speaker 4: I did?
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: Did you?
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Nope?
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: I forgot what I needed to call her right now
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: and tell her happy birthday?
- 1:33:19Speaker 4: From what did you tell her? Why you suck it altered?
- 1:33:22Speaker 7: I did not?
- 1:33:24Speaker 4: Well, how about you tell us?
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:33:27Speaker 7: So, so last week at the draft, I used a
- 1:33:34Speaker 7: Kelon burst on one of their cards and I had
- 1:33:37Speaker 7: a choice between two different things, and one of them
- 1:33:41Speaker 7: was bigger than the other one, so I picked the
- 1:33:44Speaker 7: one that was bigger, and then they just played it again.
- 1:33:47Speaker 7: The other one that they had was fleeting. So this
- 1:33:51Speaker 7: was where we were, like in the in the very
- 1:33:53Speaker 7: last one, right, So this this made me lose because
- 1:33:57Speaker 7: I picked the wrong target to get rid of because
- 1:34:00Speaker 7: then he just played it again. So make sure when
- 1:34:03Speaker 7: you're using your targeted removal on characters, if they can
- 1:34:08Speaker 7: just play the character again, it's not really helping you
- 1:34:11Speaker 7: at all. And you should get rid of something that
- 1:34:13Speaker 7: either has a man of cough that's too high that
- 1:34:16Speaker 7: they can't play again, or fleeting so that it gets
- 1:34:19Speaker 7: rid of it. Because in that scenario, I just got
- 1:34:21Speaker 7: rid of his character and he played it right back
- 1:34:23Speaker 7: again and I couldn't do anything to beat him, and
- 1:34:25Speaker 7: then he won.
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: I've seen that catch a number of people off guard.
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: Yeah, say that line a lot.
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: The nature, and you see things like people forget the
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: fact that, like let's say they've only got one card
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: in hand and they've got six mana open. I think
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: people forget that that card. Like let's say you're in Bravos, right,
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: they've got a small character in either lane, they've got
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: one card in hand at six, you're making your evaluation
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: for like what you're going to play. If that one
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: card is physical training, they're gonna play it twice. Yeah,
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: it doesn't matter that it's one card. Well, they're gonna
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: play it once. They're gonna draw a card and then
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: they can either play it again three or they can
- 1:35:10Speaker 3: play that card that they just drew if it represents
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: you know, a better shift than three.
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: Stats.
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: But like one card in hand will frequently be two
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: plays of a card or you know, maybe it's a
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: character and not. But like people forget that because the
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: flow of cards and altered is different.
- 1:35:28Speaker 7: The reserve exists. You can play all spells twice if
- 1:35:31Speaker 7: they don't have fleeting. It's definitely a very big thing.
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: All right, Well, I do believe that's gonna do it
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: for us for this week. Right, we don't got anything
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: else to go over, Zach, Are you still crying over there?
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: It's okay, No, no, just making sure, making.
- 1:35:51Speaker 4: Sure you're right, still in mourning for Robin Hood was
- 1:35:54Speaker 4: this dear friend.
- 1:35:56Speaker 2: Making sure he's okay. That's all I'm doing.
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: I'll let him, We'll let him wear that veil as
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: long as he wants to. We're a supporting group of friends.
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: Mm hmmmm mmm.
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: I do think it's funny that as soon as you
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: lose all the meta, you're like, well, I'm just gonna
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: jump ship to a new hero.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: I had other things going on.
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: I'm going.
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: Hold on in defense in defense of my friend. When
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: when we first started this cast, z like straight up said,
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: Zach is the guy that I have elected to hopship
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: as the meta changes, and he's always going to be
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: playing top dog, so.
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: Like that is true, that was that is that was
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: my role.
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: I can also confirm that that is his m O. Yes,
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: nearly as long as he but I'm known for a while.
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: Uh yeah, that's what he'll do.
- 1:36:52Speaker 5: Zach guy that plays all the ship to find out
- 1:36:54Speaker 5: weird stuff. And uh yeah, Lindaway was a great learning
- 1:37:00Speaker 5: experience and you are all worse off for not joining it.
- 1:37:05Speaker 7: I need a lot of bad plays in that tournament.

- 1:38:31Speaker 7: You get any wins?
- 1:38:33Speaker 5: Uh?
