- 0:09Speaker 3: The World's a Vegetal podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. What do you think about that?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Is that just a money thing? I still do. They're
- 0:24Speaker 2: trying to get that money.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Coming in, and I think you've confused me on such
- 0:28Speaker 1: an epic scale thread that I just have no idea
- 0:30Speaker 1: what it means anymore.
- 0:31Speaker 4: When a line goal two and a half, here we go,
- 0:34Speaker 4: I'm going from two and a half to three.
- 0:36Speaker 2: The houses are saying we need more new England money. Sure,
- 0:39Speaker 2: be careful.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Something's going on, That's what I mean.
- 0:42Speaker 2: What is going on something?
- 0:44Speaker 4: I think there's a spread that's a little bit okay,
- 0:47Speaker 4: So this spread, I think it should be closer.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I'm getting information.
- 0:52Speaker 5: I'm getting information, and I'm like you, I'm not stubborn.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Every single thing we do the same thing. It's like,
- 0:59Speaker 2: what is this? Just like Joe Murray, this mouse pull?
- 1:05Speaker 1: One question though, I think you would have absolutely loved
- 1:07Speaker 1: it was you know, just what made you want to
- 1:09Speaker 1: make that tackle?
- 1:12Speaker 4: What made you want to make it?
- 1:15Speaker 5: I play for an NFL, Robert writes in he says,
- 1:19Speaker 5: I agree with Fred, the odds are disrespectful.
- 1:23Speaker 2: This is Patriots Unfiltered.

- 1:32Speaker 4: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday. Here
- 1:36Speaker 4: at Chile's Stadium, get ready for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I'm excited about this one.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Yeah, this one.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Every day every I get excited about all the games,
- 1:45Speaker 4: but this.
- 1:45Speaker 2: One, you know, there's a lot of intrigue here.
- 1:48Speaker 7: It's your guy Baker.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you want Baker to bank. Yeah before listen.
- 1:57Speaker 4: The league, you know, is as good as it is.
- 1:59Speaker 4: One of the reasons because Baker Mayfield's in it.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Are you saying that when you see with Carolina back
- 2:04Speaker 1: when they were joined practices and he was like on
- 2:06Speaker 1: the sidelines.
- 2:07Speaker 8: Not playing, actually gave him the career.
- 2:14Speaker 5: I've always enjoyed Baker full enthusiasm for football.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got some funny ads to like the one.
- 2:21Speaker 2: With like the beatle Baker. They stopped doing those, right, Yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 2: he's ironically when he started playing, well they're.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Doing maybe his price went up. Anyway, He's got that
- 2:33Speaker 4: dog in them, so we've we've got that We've got
- 2:35Speaker 4: picks later on, so of course we have to hurry.
- 2:37Speaker 2: It's Thursday.
- 2:39Speaker 4: We had our first participation report yesterday wasn't great? Yeah, good, great?
- 2:44Speaker 2: What do we have on it? Yeah?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Well, I think, I mean Garrett Bradberry was a little
- 2:48Speaker 1: bit of a surprise not not showing up there, but
- 2:51Speaker 1: Kashan BOUDI Remindros Stevenson, Christian Ellis, Josh Farmer, Josh Farmer
- 2:56Speaker 1: not a stunner.
- 2:56Speaker 2: If you listen to the post game show, yeah, you
- 2:59Speaker 2: and I talked about brad Berry maybe jumping into the
- 3:02Speaker 2: tent periodically, did not miss a snap in the game,
- 3:06Speaker 2: but I think he's definitely dealing with something.
- 3:08Speaker 1: It's just the Wednesdays now with Rabel, I feel are
- 3:10Speaker 1: often veteran rest days. Even if a guy is a
- 3:12Speaker 1: little banged up, it doesn't necessarily mean you got to
- 3:14Speaker 1: see some of today. Who's out there? And yeah, I
- 3:17Speaker 1: hope that at least Bradbury, But you know, Ellis is
- 3:21Speaker 1: an interesting one. I think he's uh. I mean they
- 3:23Speaker 1: have some depth to kind of you know, let Jack
- 3:25Speaker 1: Gibbons play in there and to buy so I think
- 3:27Speaker 1: they can manage a little bit there. But I think
- 3:31Speaker 1: it's Uh, it'd be interesting like next week not to
- 3:33Speaker 1: look ahead to the Jets have but when we were
- 3:34Speaker 1: kind of talking about what the Jets like to do,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I think you might like to have both your fastest
- 3:39Speaker 1: linebackers out there to deal with that run game. So yeah,
- 3:42Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe they look ahead a little bit
- 3:43Speaker 1: and say, hey, let's rest Ellis this week, but no
- 3:46Speaker 1: Booty and Stevensoner the headlines.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Mike and Mike and Evan are just looking ahead. I
- 3:50Speaker 2: don't know if you like that.
- 3:52Speaker 1: It's because it's a short week.
- 3:56Speaker 2: You got to stay focused. Alex and I are staying
- 3:59Speaker 2: focused on the buck you.
- 4:00Speaker 8: Guys, as we always say, I do I don't coach,
- 4:03Speaker 8: and I don't play. So looking ahead to the Jets
- 4:07Speaker 8: is not the same as Mike Rabel and the Patriots
- 4:10Speaker 8: looking ahead to the Jets. Yeah, it's a pretty deep
- 4:14Speaker 8: all of a sudden, they kind of have some injuries.
- 4:16Speaker 8: Now they're not serious long term injuries, it doesn't feel like.
- 4:20Speaker 8: But for a team that's been really healthy through the
- 4:24Speaker 8: first nine weeks of the season. You know, Booty going
- 4:27Speaker 8: out in the second half, how much did that mean
- 4:30Speaker 8: In that game against Atlanta, you know, scored three points
- 4:33Speaker 8: in the second half and he didn't play, so is
- 4:36Speaker 8: that a factor? And no Ramondre against a very blitz
- 4:39Speaker 8: heavy defense in Tampa Bay, which I think is a factor.
- 4:43Speaker 8: I think Garrett Bradbury, well, he was out there yesterday observing.
- 4:49Speaker 8: He just wasn't participating in the practice. So this feels
- 4:53Speaker 8: more like a maintenance day for him yesterday than anything.
- 4:56Speaker 8: But he's definitely a little banged up. And then he's
- 4:59Speaker 8: got Vita coming off his yeah, inside shoulder, you.
- 5:03Speaker 7: Know, so yeah that'll be fun. Yeah, good luck. So yeah,
- 5:07Speaker 7: it's all of a sudden, you got some injuries.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It's an interesting point about Booty though, just because he's
- 5:11Speaker 1: not a high volume guy, but he delivers in key
- 5:14Speaker 1: spots and so you might look at the box scoring
- 5:17Speaker 1: you see like he's got three catches, but you know,
- 5:19Speaker 1: one of them was a thirty forty yard touchdown and
- 5:22Speaker 1: it's hard to say, like how much did they miss that?
- 5:24Speaker 1: Would that have been part of the game. But I
- 5:26Speaker 1: think you're seeing a couple, you know, pieces that are
- 5:28Speaker 1: gonna put more pressure on Drake this weekend without Stevenson
- 5:31Speaker 1: a Booty if they can't go.
- 5:32Speaker 8: So he's got those haymakers where like it's the third
- 5:35Speaker 8: quarter in the game, but it's a little bit up
- 5:37Speaker 8: for grabs and then they hit a forty yard bomb
- 5:40Speaker 8: and start the buses and so and you don't have that.
- 5:43Speaker 5: You're gonna need tight ends to be involved this week.
- 5:45Speaker 5: I think, I mean gonna be the quarterback's best friend.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I think it's gonna it's a big week for Drake,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and I think it's gonna go, you know, one of
- 5:52Speaker 1: two ways it's gonna go. He's gonna bounce back and
- 5:54Speaker 1: seem like he's back into the flow of the offense,
- 5:56Speaker 1: or he's gonna you know, this pressure is gonna get
- 5:59Speaker 1: to him and it's gonna take them out of it
- 6:00Speaker 1: a little bit. And you know, to me, it's I know,
- 6:03Speaker 1: you make one prediction at the beginning of the week
- 6:05Speaker 1: and then you like, hear more and you learn more,
- 6:07Speaker 1: and then it's it's going to be a grind. I
- 6:09Speaker 1: think for both of these offenses kind of going against
- 6:11Speaker 1: each other. I think there's points. It's not gonna be
- 6:13Speaker 1: a high scoring game. I think it's going to be
- 6:15Speaker 1: two quarterbacks trying to find a couple of big plays
- 6:18Speaker 1: to make the difference in the game. But I love
- 6:21Speaker 1: the challenge for Drake. I just love the opportunity for
- 6:23Speaker 1: him to go. You know, your time is a learning opportunity. Yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 1: we're talking about preview. You know, the last couple of weeks,
- 6:28Speaker 1: you've had some defenses that aren't hard to hype up.
- 6:31Speaker 1: They're pretty good defenses, Defenses that can make some plays
- 6:34Speaker 1: and you know that have some talent and this is
- 6:36Speaker 1: probably the best of the three. I mean, maybe you
- 6:38Speaker 1: don't have a Miles Garrett necessarily, but overall, I think
- 6:41Speaker 1: the sum of the parts on Dampest Defense are really
- 6:44Speaker 1: solid and they've got a good scheme and it's going
- 6:46Speaker 1: to be aggressive and it's just going to be a
- 6:48Speaker 1: great challenge for Drake if he passes this test, and
- 6:50Speaker 1: I think you can really start it now. You think
- 6:52Speaker 1: it's good, Well, I just think now we're back on track.
- 6:55Speaker 1: But you know, right now, being honest, things have kind
- 6:57Speaker 1: of been a little shaky, and you know, not necess
- 7:00Speaker 1: sssarily all his fault. He's missing you know, Remandre and Booty,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and there are some issues going on, but overall, it's
- 7:05Speaker 1: it's it's gonna be a big week for Drake.
- 7:07Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I mean managing pressure is the thing that
- 7:10Speaker 8: we're talking about He's talked about it yesterday, you know,
- 7:13Speaker 8: Putting saying that a lot of the sacks are on
- 7:16Speaker 8: himself and you know some of the stuff that we've
- 7:18Speaker 8: been talking about. So, uh, this is a week where
- 7:21Speaker 8: their fourth in the league and pressure rate, they're seventh
- 7:23Speaker 8: in blitz rate. Like that's Tampa's defense. They'd come after
- 7:27Speaker 8: quarterbacks and they pressure quarterbacks and they're in the top
- 7:30Speaker 8: ten in pretty much every pass rush metrics, sack pressures,
- 7:33Speaker 8: you know whatever. So this is that type of week.
- 7:37Speaker 8: And they're good at taking the ball away too. You know,
- 7:41Speaker 8: Antoine Winfield in the back ends one of the best
- 7:43Speaker 8: free safeties in the league. So this is a good
- 7:46Speaker 8: defense and I kind of I hope that the Patriots
- 7:51Speaker 8: defense could maybe limit this offense in Tampa that really
- 7:55Speaker 8: is very banged up and is missing a lot of
- 7:58Speaker 8: key pieces. So you have a game where it's not
- 8:01Speaker 8: all on Drake to go out there and score, you know,
- 8:03Speaker 8: twenty seven thirty points to outduel Baker Mayfield. You know,
- 8:07Speaker 8: can the defense show up and uh, you know, limited
- 8:12Speaker 8: offense that's a little bit limited right now. You know,
- 8:14Speaker 8: Detroit did that a couple of weeks ago before thereby,
- 8:17Speaker 8: you know, was nine points I think Tampa scored in
- 8:21Speaker 8: that game, Like, so can you can you do something
- 8:23Speaker 8: like that?
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah, take the ball away some short fields, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 1: just give a boost to the offense. Man right, more that.
- 8:28Speaker 5: It's Evan, it's Paul, it's me, it's Deuce, it's Alex
- 8:30Speaker 5: here because it's Thursday and she needs to get her flowers. Oh, Alex,
- 8:36Speaker 5: And what did I even do well? I don't know.
- 8:40Speaker 5: I have no idea. You always do well, So I'm
- 8:42Speaker 5: just assuming. Yeah, it's a good assumption, just assuming you.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Paul, Paul has and she did do well.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Okay, all right, what else do we need to get
- 8:51Speaker 5: on the table?
- 8:52Speaker 4: That's our opening salvo.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Maybe just a little on the Bucks injuries as well,
- 8:56Speaker 1: with you know, Godwin continues to be out. Bucky Irving's
- 8:58Speaker 1: a big part of their offense, explosive playmaker in the
- 9:01Speaker 1: In the running game, you know, Evan mentioned Gadeck either
- 9:04Speaker 1: right tackle. Maybe he's back, but he's coming off ir
- 9:07Speaker 1: so it might take a little bit of time, but
- 9:09Speaker 1: not no major surprises. But Baker Mayfield is on there
- 9:11Speaker 1: with I think oblique and a knee, so he's.
- 9:13Speaker 8: At a little while there's been a little bit of
- 9:18Speaker 8: talk about that, and also like Mike Evans is not playing,
- 9:21Speaker 8: but uh, there's been a little bit of talk about
- 9:24Speaker 8: Baker being a little banged up in the last couple
- 9:27Speaker 8: of weeks before thereby he wasn't scrambling quite as much
- 9:30Speaker 8: as he was. You know, some of that I think is,
- 9:32Speaker 8: you know, they were spying him and it became a thing.
- 9:35Speaker 8: We know he can scramble, we know he can run around,
- 9:37Speaker 8: but you do wonder if maybe that knee or whatever
- 9:40Speaker 8: is preventing him from being quite as you know, dynamic
- 9:44Speaker 8: and as a scrambler, because the first like four or
- 9:47Speaker 8: five weeks, he was like scrambling like crazy and like
- 9:50Speaker 8: running people over and like had these like ridiculous third
- 9:54Speaker 8: and long scrambles and stuff like that, and that's kind
- 9:57Speaker 8: of subsided over the last few weeks. So maybe it's
- 10:00Speaker 8: because of some of those injuries. But they were hoping
- 10:03Speaker 8: that they were going to get a bunch of these
- 10:05Speaker 8: guys back. Hassan Reddick, Godwin Irving, like Mike Evans is
- 10:10Speaker 8: out for the year, but they were hoping they were
- 10:12Speaker 8: going to get those three guys back, and it doesn't
- 10:14Speaker 8: look like they are going to be ready to play
- 10:17Speaker 8: on Sunday. So uh, they're they're missing some pieces.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Okay, all right, Christian Uh from with a T I
- 10:26Speaker 5: A N just writes and quickly said, Fred's sweater, that's it,
- 10:30Speaker 5: that's the email.
- 10:32Speaker 7: It's fair show.
- 10:34Speaker 9: I have a really similar sweater and let me know
- 10:36Speaker 9: next time you're going to wear yours?
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you call that?
- 10:41Speaker 2: Excited?
- 10:42Speaker 1: A VNA?
- 10:42Speaker 2: Just like a tennis you know, like do you play
- 10:48Speaker 2: tennis in it?
- 10:49Speaker 4: Those I don't play tennis in it.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Now I have to ask who are you wearing?
- 10:55Speaker 9: You should get like a collared Oxford to wear underneath it,
- 10:58Speaker 9: and then maybe another sweater like.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe a head band two.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Okay, Fred, you know, change my name to Chip. Don't
- 11:07Speaker 2: scoff at the Fred tennis. I've seen it.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Fred can play and hard. People still talk to Hart's manhood. Yeah,
- 11:15Speaker 1: he was just twying with him this corner that you know,
- 11:18Speaker 1: that's a good thing.
- 11:19Speaker 7: Like, you know, maybe put him in his place a
- 11:21Speaker 7: little bit.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Oh, it didn't make him any less obnoxious, but he
- 11:24Speaker 2: did take his manhood that day. I beat him in
- 11:26Speaker 2: three sports and I was calling.
- 11:30Speaker 4: One on one basketball, tennis and one on.
- 11:33Speaker 8: One slamming rackets to the ground, and whole goal was
- 11:39Speaker 8: to try to try to play as quickly as he could.
- 11:42Speaker 2: And Fred would He's not lying. Fred would like just
- 11:45Speaker 2: immediately try to hit a winner on like the first
- 11:47Speaker 2: volley and every shot, and you know he was good
- 11:51Speaker 2: enough to do it more often than not. But when
- 11:53Speaker 2: he didn't, he would then go and walk to get
- 11:57Speaker 2: the ball. That was furthest away so we'd have more
- 11:59Speaker 2: time to rest.
- 12:00Speaker 5: I had to lie down on my office floor afterwards.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Did it during lunchtime?
- 12:05Speaker 1: I want, I got, I want, all.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Right, good time? All right?
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah, so we've got the picks. We want to get
- 12:18Speaker 4: to calls.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Yeah, we talked to We talked mccollins yesterday. Yeah, so
- 12:22Speaker 1: we'll have that at halftime. A nice conversation I brought.
- 12:25Speaker 7: It was like, strangely normal is a normal guy.
- 12:29Speaker 9: I know of things, but like as a dude talking
- 12:34Speaker 9: to him, he's.
- 12:34Speaker 8: Very about a guy that normal waters together like, but yeah,
- 12:39Speaker 8: I thought we were going to get some like quirky
- 12:41Speaker 8: mccollins answers and he was like really normal.
- 12:45Speaker 3: He's a pretty stoic guy.
- 12:47Speaker 6: Look like the ultimate warrior.
- 12:48Speaker 2: What are you talking? Yeah?
- 12:51Speaker 1: You take away the pack and we're looking what's on
- 12:52Speaker 1: the inside. Matt not that not but.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Like his cut up practice shirt.
- 12:55Speaker 9: To him, it's a practical rise quicker and he can
- 12:59Speaker 9: wipe his hands and he'll explain that to you.
- 13:01Speaker 3: And you're like, Okay, like it looks weird, but it's
- 13:03Speaker 3: hard to argue.
- 13:04Speaker 2: That you like it.
- 13:05Speaker 7: I love it.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Yeahd wasn't it just yesterday we were talking about snowblowers
- 13:11Speaker 4: and Aarons and all that. Well they must have been listening.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah, because to.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Celebrate Veterans Day with a new snowblower from Aarons during
- 13:20Speaker 5: their Heroes and Holiday Sales event, they sent us this thing.

- 13:47Speaker 5: just we just got this. We're talking about Aaron. So
- 13:52Speaker 5: I don't know if they deliver to Iceland, but our
- 13:55Speaker 5: our emailer yesterday, if you want to go an Aaron's,
- 13:57Speaker 5: you save one hundred bucks right now.
- 13:59Speaker 2: It is a upset.
- 14:00Speaker 5: The cost of ship said, it's a very good snowbo board.
- 14:04Speaker 5: I can say firsthand, very good. Your guy, Tony Mazzerati,
- 14:10Speaker 5: he's a big errands guy.
- 14:11Speaker 2: He is a big errands guy. Yeah, I think they
- 14:13Speaker 2: pay him. I'm pretty sure they do. He does a
- 14:16Speaker 2: lot of reads. He does an annual video of his
- 14:19Speaker 2: clean driveway.
- 14:20Speaker 7: And I wasn't too happy with how they treated you yesterday.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I heard about this.
- 14:24Speaker 2: They were they came home. First time I came in.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I told it's the first time all year. They got
- 14:30Speaker 2: me into a negative spot. And I didn't have any
- 14:33Speaker 2: idea how bullying. And they were picking and choosing their words,
- 14:37Speaker 2: and I was like, that's why, that's why he's that's
- 14:40Speaker 2: why they have a good show. They were like just
- 14:43Speaker 2: joking on every like I had sort of made a
- 14:45Speaker 2: comment that, you know, his little eye opening how much
- 14:49Speaker 2: the whole team sort of dipped alongside Drake May in
- 14:53Speaker 2: the second half of the Atlanta game, you know, concerned
- 14:56Speaker 2: that there's too much on Drake May. So Felger immediately
- 14:59Speaker 2: goes so Paul thinks that they're putting too much on
- 15:02Speaker 2: Drake May. I'm like, that's not what I said. I said,
- 15:05Speaker 2: there is too much on Drake May. I didn't like
- 15:08Speaker 2: to be like it was a personal choice by Mike.
- 15:10Speaker 2: We're able to say we're going to put him out
- 15:12Speaker 2: there and we're going to live and die with everything.
- 15:14Speaker 2: That's not the way they designed it. I just I
- 15:17Speaker 2: worry a little bit that that's the way it is,
- 15:20Speaker 2: that if he doesn't play well, they're in trouble, like
- 15:23Speaker 2: because they were in trouble in that second half, you know,
- 15:27Speaker 2: that kind of stuff. I was sort of okay with
- 15:30Speaker 2: not doing anything in the trade deadline. Oh, you don't
- 15:32Speaker 2: believe in the team, so it's one of those things,
- 15:35Speaker 2: or you know, and Mike doesn't believe, so they don't believe.
- 15:37Speaker 2: That's really sad, and so.
- 15:39Speaker 4: I could say the opposite by not doing it, you
- 15:41Speaker 4: do believe.
- 15:42Speaker 2: So they forced they forced me to sort of start saying,
- 15:45Speaker 2: you know, like just how good are they? And again
- 15:48Speaker 2: I ended up in a negative spot that I had
- 15:50Speaker 2: no intentions of being in. At the beginning of the
- 15:52Speaker 2: show and we were done with the first segment, I
- 15:54Speaker 2: took my headphones off. I just s thoughted, laughing. I go,
- 15:57Speaker 2: you two are unbelievable. I don't know how you got
- 15:59Speaker 2: me here, but you did.
- 16:01Speaker 1: That's what they do. And I'll exact question about it.
- 16:04Speaker 8: They were telling him, you know the you know that
- 16:07Speaker 8: that someone told him in the organization that he had
- 16:09Speaker 8: to say these things, you know, like.
- 16:11Speaker 7: Stuff like that.
- 16:12Speaker 8: It's like, that's so low and that's so easy to like,
- 16:16Speaker 8: you want to.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Know the best way to get me to say something.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Paul, you're leaving, but just come in the office real quick.
- 16:23Speaker 8: He has talking right exactly, talking points every saying that.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I like, if that, if that was more time, if
- 16:30Speaker 2: it was true.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Then why would you have him as a guest, right?
- 16:33Speaker 2: And if they thought it was true, they wouldn't have
- 16:35Speaker 2: me right, right, But yeah, I was. They were definitely felgy.
- 16:40Speaker 2: In particular, was in one of those little like semantic
- 16:43Speaker 2: like nitpicky, like every syllable that I was saying, it
- 16:47Speaker 2: was it was like me on steroids. It was bad.
- 16:50Speaker 7: He's never liked that, So, I mean, I'm surprised.
- 16:54Speaker 4: And also hope nobody connects dots that aren't there, like.
- 16:57Speaker 2: They're in full full fledged you know how they love
- 17:00Speaker 2: to do it, they love to set it up. So
- 17:01Speaker 2: no matter what happens, they're going to be right and
- 17:03Speaker 2: they're going to be able to kill somebody right. So
- 17:07Speaker 2: to talent, honestly, yeah, it is. It is a skill.
- 17:09Speaker 2: That's why they have the best. But you know what's good.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I know how this is going to unfold. I was
- 17:13Speaker 2: telling Mike this morning. If they end up falling short
- 17:19Speaker 2: of the super Bowl. Yeah, let's just say they make
- 17:24Speaker 2: the playoffs and they get knocked out in the first round,
- 17:26Speaker 2: it's going to be a referendum on because you didn't
- 17:28Speaker 2: believe in the team, you didn't add to the team,
- 17:30Speaker 2: you could have done it and that, and they're going
- 17:32Speaker 2: to kill them for that if they win. I mean,
- 17:35Speaker 2: unless they win there, it is, unless they actually win
- 17:40Speaker 2: the super Bowl, they're going to be able to say, well,
- 17:42Speaker 2: if you know, if you just a little, that would
- 17:45Speaker 2: have been enough. You know, So, no matter what happens,
- 17:47Speaker 2: they're going to.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Be able to Can I ask a question though, like
- 17:50Speaker 1: if it ends up being let's say the final four
- 17:53Speaker 1: is uh, Buffalo, Kansas City, you can tell how.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Mad I am? Right there?
- 17:57Speaker 1: Philadelphia and Detroit and whoever wins the championship games and
- 18:02Speaker 1: one of those team four teams wins the Super Bowl?
- 18:04Speaker 1: Is it really a down year? Are we just looking
- 18:05Speaker 1: at the first half of the season and saying some
- 18:07Speaker 1: of the good teams didn't have the great greatest first
- 18:10Speaker 1: half of the season. Therefore, is this a down year
- 18:13Speaker 1: or is this just gonna be you.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Would have been good? Yes, and you would have gotten
- 18:16Speaker 2: yourself into a negative spot. I really didn't mean to,
- 18:19Speaker 2: because that's exactly the point I was I was trying
- 18:21Speaker 2: to make. It was like, yeah, we're seven and two
- 18:24Speaker 2: and everything is great, but you really think that they're
- 18:27Speaker 2: like a super Bowl contender? Yeah, and you would have
- 18:30Speaker 2: thought that. I said, there's no Santa Claus Like they
- 18:33Speaker 2: just attacked like Paul doesn't believe in the team. I'm like,
- 18:36Speaker 2: that's not what I said. Like, that's not what I said.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I just I'm trying to objectively look at everything. And yes,
- 18:45Speaker 2: the Colts win made a big, major splash move. Does
- 18:48Speaker 2: that mean that's the only thing that that should have happened? Like,
- 18:53Speaker 2: I don't know, We'll see how it all unfolds.
- 18:56Speaker 7: We've lost the plot a little bit because of how
- 18:58Speaker 7: good they've been of this truly being Mike Rable's first
- 19:02Speaker 7: year as the head coach of this team, and like,
- 19:04Speaker 7: this is what they're doing this year is not no
- 19:08Speaker 7: one could have could have expected this. No one could
- 19:12Speaker 7: have expected it.
- 19:13Speaker 8: So they they are ahead of schedule, They're way ahead
- 19:18Speaker 8: of schedule, and so that's great, and that's that's great
- 19:21Speaker 8: for for everybody, but it's also just you know, I'm
- 19:26Speaker 8: hearing a lot of that of like talking about super Bowl.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Wide open, wide open, like is it and you.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Don't want to like to do don't get excited, right.
- 19:37Speaker 2: And that's like, you know's what I And that's what
- 19:39Speaker 2: I mean by like I got myself I spot.
- 19:42Speaker 8: But I'm not talking about fans. Fans get excited like that.
- 19:46Speaker 8: That's I'm talking about, Like, now we're treating this team
- 19:49Speaker 8: like the expectation is that they're going to go on
- 19:51Speaker 8: a run and into the super Bowl because they're seven
- 19:54Speaker 8: to two, and it's like, okay, let's let's.
- 19:57Speaker 2: I made the mistake of you know, and in twenty one,
- 20:02Speaker 2: we were further along in the season, higher in the
- 20:05Speaker 2: standings than we are right now. And I don't think
- 20:09Speaker 2: anybody thought at the time they were a legitimate Super
- 20:11Speaker 2: Bowl contingents. May do, you know what I mean? And
- 20:15Speaker 2: it's just like it can change that quickly. You know.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Right now everybody's remembering that that they beat Buffalo, just
- 20:23Speaker 2: like in twenty one, everybody remembered that they beat Buffalo
- 20:26Speaker 2: in that game at Buffalo. Then when Buffalo came into Foxborough,
- 20:31Speaker 2: you didn't even make them punt. Right, What if that
- 20:33Speaker 2: happens in a month? Now, what if the Patriots beat
- 20:35Speaker 2: them again and then beat them twice and win the division? Right?
- 20:40Speaker 2: That would separate now, right, But that needs to happen
- 20:45Speaker 2: first before you start to think in a different way.
- 20:47Speaker 1: That nothing has to have to get his pants off,
- 20:49Speaker 1: but we all.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Do, we all go pants off.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Well, but I mean, you know, to get into like
- 20:55Speaker 1: Felgrim Mass semantics land a little bit of I feel
- 20:59Speaker 1: kind of like they're on schedule by taking advantage of
- 21:02Speaker 1: bad football, which was the goal stated by Mike Rable
- 21:04Speaker 1: at the beginning, you know what I mean, Like, and
- 21:07Speaker 1: so are they still able to do that? You know
- 21:09Speaker 1: when they play the good team. So the good team
- 21:11Speaker 1: is going to play bad football. It's Buffalo going to
- 21:13Speaker 1: have They're going to do again football game, correct, you know,
- 21:15Speaker 1: So in that regard, I almost much. Just say no,
- 21:18Speaker 1: I think they're on schedule, and I think Drake.
- 21:21Speaker 2: May is way ahead of schedule. I did not expect
- 21:23Speaker 2: him to be this good, this fast. That's the thing.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Everything else is kind of like, we knew that they
- 21:28Speaker 2: improved the roster. We knew they had some good free
- 21:31Speaker 2: agent moves, and most of those moves have been pretty good.
- 21:34Speaker 7: I just don't You couldn't have predicted it. He'd be
- 21:36Speaker 7: a top five quarterback.
- 21:37Speaker 2: And that's why May is way ahead of there.
- 21:41Speaker 7: For the offense as a whole, ahead of schedule.
- 21:44Speaker 5: May, that's why everybody is going crazy. It's it's you know,
- 21:49Speaker 5: the elevated expectations is because of the play of the quarterback.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Fly.
- 21:54Speaker 2: We have a guy now who is the guy.
- 21:58Speaker 3: But it feels like he's become a start.
- 22:00Speaker 2: You don't care for No, I.
- 22:01Speaker 7: Don't care for all this national media attention.
- 22:04Speaker 4: I know I would rather be under the radar. But no,
- 22:08Speaker 4: it's not even that.
- 22:09Speaker 8: It's just like and I'm not trying to victory lap,
- 22:12Speaker 8: but like.
- 22:13Speaker 7: No, like, if you if you watched them in college,
- 22:16Speaker 7: you need and credit.
- 22:18Speaker 2: It's unbelievable.
- 22:19Speaker 8: If you if you watch them in college, you were
- 22:21Speaker 8: as big of am on them as I was.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Everybody else sees it the way I do.
- 22:26Speaker 8: Know, I'm mad that the people that were on that
- 22:28Speaker 8: side of the street are now telling me that how
- 22:31Speaker 8: great he.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Is, Like they can change their mind based on.
- 22:34Speaker 10: Yeah, but it's but it's the it's the glowing, like
- 22:38Speaker 10: profusive praise, like I'm sorry, Like these people that were
- 22:43Speaker 10: thank you sure, these people that were that were telling
- 22:47Speaker 10: me that he needed to sit two or three years
- 22:48Speaker 10: are now the same ones that are saying he's the
- 22:50Speaker 10: best quarterback in the league.
- 22:52Speaker 2: And it's like, just just stay on that side of
- 22:56Speaker 2: this so someone can't admit they're wrong.
- 22:58Speaker 7: They don't admit they're wrong.
- 23:00Speaker 9: I just pretend old take never happened exactly.
- 23:03Speaker 1: But I think it's what it's just said of like
- 23:05Speaker 1: he seems like he became a superstar overnight and people
- 23:08Speaker 1: are more than willing to you know, And I mean
- 23:10Speaker 1: it's a positive too, Like I mean, there's you know,
- 23:12Speaker 1: it's it's frustrating it can be at the same time.
- 23:15Speaker 1: That's why you have some expectations that the quarterback might
- 23:18Speaker 1: just go berzerker mode in the playoffs, and when you
- 23:20Speaker 1: a game.
- 23:20Speaker 2: It's somebody coming out of the yeah, okay, but.
- 23:25Speaker 8: It's somebody else coming out of the wood work every
- 23:27Speaker 8: single day now, some other national media guy that's like, oh,
- 23:30Speaker 8: discussion on Get Up this morning, like how great Drake
- 23:34Speaker 8: may is playing. I'm like, okay, Evan's trying to think,
- 23:38Speaker 8: yeah hundred percent. No, No, I didn't say that.
- 23:42Speaker 7: I said like a band.
- 23:44Speaker 3: When a band gets like mainstream success, I.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Like them, right, I like them before everyone else.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I like them when they're at the House of Blue.
- 23:50Speaker 5: I do care for it, like I was seeing Jerry
- 23:53Speaker 5: Seinfeld before anybody.
- 23:58Speaker 7: I don't know what it is. I can't drive it.
- 24:00Speaker 8: It's just like it's your guys are okay, like you know,
- 24:04Speaker 8: you go you go over there, all right, like there, take.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Your ball and you go home.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Youk you are geiky, that's all right.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Do you think Buffalo people feel like this about about
- 24:18Speaker 3: Josh when he had his ascension?
- 24:20Speaker 8: Probably, But like I don't think that Bill's fans, if
- 24:25Speaker 8: they were honest with themselves, I don't think Bill's fans
- 24:29Speaker 8: like thought that Josh Allen was going to be great
- 24:31Speaker 8: the whole time, Like I think after Josh Allen's rookie season,
- 24:36Speaker 8: because there were concerns with Josh Allen. Same way with
- 24:38Speaker 8: Drake May coming out of college and then he had
- 24:40Speaker 8: a so so rookie season. I don't think that they
- 24:43Speaker 8: were all like one hundred percent sold until like the
- 24:46Speaker 8: second or third year. I think Drake May had a
- 24:49Speaker 8: much better rookie season than Josh Allen did, just individually
- 24:53Speaker 8: as a player.
- 24:54Speaker 7: Like not the team, but individually as a player.
- 24:56Speaker 2: I would agree with that, but what would I know?
- 24:57Speaker 1: You more though, It's like you're at this phase where
- 24:59Speaker 1: it's all or the bandwagon, but you're gonna eventually get
- 25:01Speaker 1: to the point where it's you know, he's actually not
- 25:04Speaker 1: that good. There's like, you know, he only does this.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Everything has to be this, you know, like that'll be
- 25:08Speaker 1: like they do with Brady, like he only throws short passes.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I mean, let's go back to France. You know what
- 25:15Speaker 2: was the talk of Jayden Daniels last year, c J.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Stroud two years ago? Like now, c J. Stroud is
- 25:22Speaker 2: not that good. I don't know if you know that
- 25:23Speaker 2: he's not that good even though he is, he's terrific,
- 25:26Speaker 2: but he's not that good anymore because he didn't take
- 25:29Speaker 2: what he did in his rookie year and then build
- 25:31Speaker 2: on it exponentially. That will happen, and.
- 25:35Speaker 1: That does along his life have You know what Paul
- 25:37Speaker 1: and I were talking about this morning, and we talked
- 25:38Speaker 1: about I think yesterday, the day before of you know,
- 25:41Speaker 1: next year, the schedule gets a lot harder. There's a
- 25:42Speaker 1: lot more difficult matchups. So you know, what do you
- 25:45Speaker 1: do this coming off season to not only prove some
- 25:48Speaker 1: of the depth but also, you know, take the steps
- 25:51Speaker 1: forward you're gonna need when you have to go to
- 25:52Speaker 1: Kansas City and Detroit next year and you know among
- 25:55Speaker 1: which other teams they have to face Foxborough.
- 25:58Speaker 2: So we'll document it.
- 26:00Speaker 9: And to that point, I think the way Drake's playing
- 26:02Speaker 9: right now, you're in a position where we haven't been
- 26:04Speaker 9: in a long time where I think Drake May is
- 26:06Speaker 9: going to attract players that want to play with him.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, yes, increase the skids a little bit.
- 26:12Speaker 4: In Agen, I'm always open to criticism, and bretton Halliburton,
- 26:16Speaker 4: Ontario delivers it.
- 26:18Speaker 2: He says, Fred, this is a season from heaven.
- 26:20Speaker 5: In my mind, all rainbows, but the show gets too
- 26:23Speaker 5: negative for no reasons sometimes like yesterday, so what that
- 26:28Speaker 5: some callers are getting So what that some callers are
- 26:32Speaker 5: getting ahead of themselves about our overall chances. Why the
- 26:36Speaker 5: constant complaining about callers. Callers are the customers and the
- 26:40Speaker 5: ongoing chat in the background. When a caller says something
- 26:43Speaker 5: that the crew seems to need to take a whispered
- 26:45Speaker 5: snark at let the caller finish making their point.
- 26:49Speaker 4: It's a fun, fun season so far.
- 26:51Speaker 5: Some snark is okay, but let's all have fun and
- 26:54Speaker 5: drop the petty, sarcastic snarkingl.
- 26:59Speaker 7: Okay a combats highly unlikely.
- 27:04Speaker 11: All is negativity that's in this town sucks.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I don't know. I think I don't.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Even know what he's talking about, and that's no, it's
- 27:14Speaker 2: definitely me. The only thing about that whole thing that
- 27:17Speaker 2: I would disagree with is the negative part. I think
- 27:19Speaker 2: this has been a really positive show for the entire
- 27:22Speaker 2: season because of the stuff that we're talking about. Drake
- 27:24Speaker 2: May has made a meteoric rise, and I think we've
- 27:27Speaker 2: been here for it from from day one. The snark
- 27:31Speaker 2: and all that stuff, I'm guilty as charged. I probably
- 27:34Speaker 2: don't matt down a little bit. Sorry, don't do that.
- 27:37Speaker 2: You got to be me, you got to be free.
- 27:41Speaker 4: I like some of the caller and call a crime
- 27:43Speaker 4: and all that stuff. That's fun. It's where a community
- 27:46Speaker 4: we make fun of each other, and.
- 27:48Speaker 2: That's where the crime is. It's caller on caller, right
- 27:51Speaker 2: except for you know the one that's the one call
- 27:53Speaker 2: that we get every day. Yeah, we kind of jump
- 27:56Speaker 2: in on the fun. I'm not sure. I'm not sure
- 27:58Speaker 2: he even realizes it's all right.
- 28:00Speaker 1: It's becoming a thing though, and we went.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Now, I love it. He's my favorite.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Now all right?
- 28:08Speaker 5: Eight five five Pats five hundred is the hot line.
- 28:10Speaker 5: Let's go to Francisco in North Carolina. I hate Francisco.
- 28:16Speaker 12: Hey, what's going on?
- 28:16Speaker 8: Guys?
- 28:17Speaker 13: Cut off yesterday?
- 28:18Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:19Speaker 14: Sorry, now you're all good.
- 28:21Speaker 12: Uh So, I'm not just hopeful in Drake May, but
- 28:25Speaker 12: like I'm getting hopeful in the way that Kashan Boody
- 28:28Speaker 12: has been been growing it as well as we're finally
- 28:32Speaker 12: starting to see the pop Douglas that we thought we
- 28:34Speaker 12: were going to get after training camp. But with all
- 28:37Speaker 12: that being said, I'm on a two game heater. When
- 28:41Speaker 12: I called crazy on Henderson outperform Twin Shawt Jenkins, and
- 28:45Speaker 12: I called Parker Roma to Missichique an extra point last week.
- 28:49Speaker 12: So my lock of the Week is hole william gets
- 28:53Speaker 12: his first touchdown fifty yards locket.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Kyle Williams down.
- 28:58Speaker 4: Okay, I like Francisco mark that down. I tell you this,
- 29:02Speaker 4: tell you what if he's right, send him a T shirt.
- 29:05Speaker 2: I got to give him credit though he's not just like,
- 29:08Speaker 2: you know, I think, yeah, I think the Patriot's gonna win.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Lock it in. He's talking about very specific things that
- 29:15Speaker 2: are not just run of the mill stuff. Yep, Like
- 29:18Speaker 2: Romo's going to miss a big kick and Kyle WiM's
- 29:21Speaker 2: going to get a fifty yard touchdown. That's a legit prediction.
- 29:24Speaker 4: And it doesn't matter if it's air. If it's fifty yards,
- 29:28Speaker 4: he gets a T shirt.
- 29:29Speaker 8: I mean, I think if he's gonna score a touchdown,
- 29:31Speaker 8: it's kind of the only way it's gonna happen, right,
- 29:33Speaker 8: It's gonna be a screen, it's going to be a
- 29:34Speaker 8: go ball that he catches it down the sideline and
- 29:36Speaker 8: scores a touchdown.
- 29:37Speaker 2: But I like it. We have a like the pick.
- 29:39Speaker 8: He might have a Pop Douglas thing in the works
- 29:42Speaker 8: about his little breakout here over the last month or
- 29:45Speaker 8: so on the website, but one of the main themes
- 29:48Speaker 8: of it, you know, he said the one that we
- 29:50Speaker 8: expected to see, you know, coming out of training camp.
- 29:52Speaker 8: I actually think that they've completely changed his role and
- 29:56Speaker 8: as a result, he's he's been significantly better. They kind
- 29:59Speaker 8: of to have, at least by my interpretation, kind of
- 30:03Speaker 8: said enough of like the Edelman Weelker quick hitters over
- 30:07Speaker 8: the middle type of stuff, and let's get you running
- 30:09Speaker 8: vertically down the field. And his average, you know, air
- 30:13Speaker 8: yards per target is just skyrocketed. It's like tripled in
- 30:16Speaker 8: the last month, and so is his production.
- 30:18Speaker 2: So do you think that might have something to do
- 30:20Speaker 2: with the stuff that we constantly talk about with him,
- 30:22Speaker 2: that sometimes he doesn't necessarily read the coverage for the
- 30:26Speaker 2: same way that that may does.
- 30:27Speaker 8: Yeah, so he you know, when I was talking to
- 30:30Speaker 8: him yesterday, because I agree with you, Paul, I think
- 30:32Speaker 8: that's really what it is. And he said that this
- 30:34Speaker 8: is really where he feels. He said, it's my element
- 30:37Speaker 8: is to be running vertical routes from the slot down
- 30:40Speaker 8: the field.
- 30:40Speaker 7: And this is what he did at Liberty.
- 30:42Speaker 8: This is what got him here, he said, And you know,
- 30:44Speaker 8: this is this is him And he gave Josh McDaniels
- 30:47Speaker 8: all the credit and said, you know, he changed like
- 30:50Speaker 8: he adapted the role that I'm in and and made
- 30:53Speaker 8: more of a vertical slot. And you know, he said
- 30:56Speaker 8: that it's that's all Josh, that he's the one that
- 30:59Speaker 8: kind of made the switch. And I think he runs
- 31:02Speaker 8: a deep crossing route better than anybody on the team.
- 31:05Speaker 8: Like he's it's dynamite when he runs those routes.
- 31:08Speaker 1: It's funny thinking back to training camp a little bit.
- 31:09Speaker 1: I remember a couple of those being the big plays
- 31:12Speaker 1: he had in training camp. I mean, he had a
- 31:13Speaker 1: good camp, but it wasn't the stuff we kind of
- 31:16Speaker 1: thought it was. And that's the stuff that looks kind
- 31:18Speaker 1: of clunky and the he just sit down in the
- 31:19Speaker 1: middle of the field and you know, he's got the
- 31:21Speaker 1: one handed catch, and I just wonder if he's doing
- 31:24Speaker 1: less of that, if it opens up maybe more of
- 31:26Speaker 1: an opportunity for someone else to, you know, take on
- 31:29Speaker 1: some more slot reps and some of that you know,
- 31:31Speaker 1: quick open, short game kind of stuff.
- 31:33Speaker 8: It feels like the short game stuff has gone to digs. Yeah,
- 31:36Speaker 8: and he's sort of turned into that, you know, chain mover,
- 31:39Speaker 8: that type of guy, and Pop is you know this
- 31:41Speaker 8: the speed on the inside. And then Booty's been you
- 31:44Speaker 8: know the deep thread on the outside. But it's kind
- 31:46Speaker 8: of crazy. The numbers of you know, how far down
- 31:49Speaker 8: the field he's being targeted now compared to beat the
- 31:52Speaker 8: beginning of the season is staggering. And he's averaging like
- 31:56Speaker 8: twenty one yards of catch over the last.
- 31:58Speaker 7: Month of the season.
- 31:59Speaker 8: So there, they're getting big, big plays down the field
- 32:02Speaker 8: out of him. Now, we just got to get him
- 32:03Speaker 8: to like in the open field, to not be like
- 32:05Speaker 8: a drunken sailor out tire.
- 32:07Speaker 1: But yeah, that's really high and stumbles after catch too. Yeah,
- 32:10Speaker 1: this sack.
- 32:11Speaker 8: No, it's funny because he's kind of explained that, and
- 32:14Speaker 8: I I got what when you watch it back once
- 32:17Speaker 8: he told me what happens.
- 32:20Speaker 7: I actually you can see it in real time.
- 32:22Speaker 8: And he said that he was looking behind him because
- 32:26Speaker 8: he was worried that somebody was coming from behind. So
- 32:29Speaker 8: he was looked behind him and then when he brought
- 32:31Speaker 8: his head back forward, it like gave him like whiplass.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 7: Yeah, And so then he started to.
- 32:37Speaker 4: Worry about that because there was another play earlier.
- 32:39Speaker 5: It was a home game, and we both said it
- 32:42Speaker 5: at the same time, just Goland, you just trust your speed.
- 32:48Speaker 8: So I didn't get to ask him this, But it
- 32:50Speaker 8: dawned on me as I was writing the piece that
- 32:52Speaker 8: his rookie season, he got stripped from behind against Miami.
- 32:56Speaker 8: He broke into the open field and he it was
- 33:00Speaker 8: against Miami week two of the season.
- 33:02Speaker 2: And he basically remembers he's running up the field twenty
- 33:05Speaker 2: four to seventeen loss, and the guy.
- 33:08Speaker 8: Came from behind and punched the ball out from behind
- 33:10Speaker 8: close to the end zone.
- 33:11Speaker 2: In that one, he was he was.
- 33:12Speaker 8: Like at like maybe the twenty, but he had a
- 33:14Speaker 8: lot of open case like he was running.
- 33:16Speaker 2: You can get this mic. It was the cold strange game.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Oh why would I call it the cold strange?
- 33:21Speaker 1: Like caught the pass and then like it was like
- 33:23Speaker 1: it was the end of the game. Right, that's a
- 33:25Speaker 1: random one. I wouldn't remember that one. Usually I'm bad
- 33:27Speaker 1: on that.
- 33:27Speaker 8: I wonder if he remembers, like if that stuck with him, Like,
- 33:30Speaker 8: you know, I don't.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Know if it's the same game.
- 33:32Speaker 5: But have a good grip on the ball.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Just trust your speed. That's what I told him.
- 33:38Speaker 4: You know, you told him that.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Oh that's coaching. I'm just coaching them up.
- 33:42Speaker 3: I just like, just go coordinator.
- 33:46Speaker 4: He's like, don't let Ray will catch you coaching people up.
- 33:50Speaker 2: How we need, not what we're looking at.
- 33:51Speaker 7: It wasn't that serious.
- 33:53Speaker 5: I'm only back to the phones, Christian and La.
- 33:57Speaker 4: What's up?
- 33:58Speaker 2: Christian? Oh man, La?
- 34:00Speaker 13: You guys think I know that I'm the call that
- 34:02Speaker 13: you all go in on.
- 34:04Speaker 2: No, No, honest to God, we weren't talking about you.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Send me something offline and I'll let you know who
- 34:12Speaker 2: we're talking about. I don't want to embarrass anymore.
- 34:14Speaker 5: Okay, No, we openly mock you.
- 34:18Speaker 2: That's true because because we know you can take it right.
- 34:22Speaker 13: Yeah. Yeah, I'm in New York. I'm like you guys
- 34:25Speaker 13: from East Coast. I got a pretty thick skin.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Thick skin like the hot dogs they sell on the street.
- 34:30Speaker 13: Hey, hey, don't you talk about our hot dogs.
- 34:33Speaker 4: I love the hot dog. Give me a hot dog
- 34:35Speaker 4: with brown mustard and sour kraut every day, sitting in
- 34:38Speaker 4: that dog water.
- 34:39Speaker 2: They are elite.
- 34:40Speaker 4: I'm good elaps with that.
- 34:46Speaker 13: What about the red onions?
- 34:48Speaker 4: No, No, just sour kraut and brown mustard.
- 34:52Speaker 2: He's now finger wagging you, Christian.
- 34:54Speaker 4: No too much on the hot dog, you know.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Like onion, onions and mustard.
- 34:59Speaker 1: That doesn't matter me.
- 35:00Speaker 4: I don't need a hot dog bomb.
- 35:02Speaker 13: Speaking of speaking of New York, speaking of you, you
- 35:06Speaker 13: you bunch of uh. I don't know you mobsters over there,
- 35:10Speaker 13: I got, I got mobster names for you guys now.
- 35:13Speaker 13: So it's it's ready to finger because he's the one
- 35:16Speaker 13: that controls whether you live or die with the phone button.
- 35:20Speaker 13: You got, you got a squeaky for the voice. You
- 35:24Speaker 13: got the face man over there, you got doll, and
- 35:27Speaker 13: you got the grump. But that's how I think of you, guys.
- 35:29Speaker 13: Whenever I looked at you like this mafia.
- 35:32Speaker 5: Well, we had a we had a caller who used
- 35:34Speaker 5: to call me.
- 35:41Speaker 1: English Nick.
- 35:45Speaker 2: You did copy?
- 35:46Speaker 5: Yeah, thanks, Christian, appreciate the call. Let's see March in Connecticut.
- 35:53Speaker 13: Hey, Mark, Hey, what's going on today?
- 35:56Speaker 2: Guys?
- 35:58Speaker 15: Well, Michael went you. I've been really disappointed in him,
- 36:03Speaker 15: you know, I don't want to say most of his
- 36:06Speaker 15: career with us, but especially the last couple of games.
- 36:09Speaker 15: I'm just seeing him getting blown up with Sun and
- 36:12Speaker 15: just getting beat on the line, and I'm just wondering.
- 36:15Speaker 15: I mean, I know he's getting paid a lot of money,
- 36:18Speaker 15: so I don't think they're going to bench him or
- 36:19Speaker 15: anything like that. But I don't know, is there anybody
- 36:23Speaker 15: else in the pipeline that we can maybe shift around
- 36:26Speaker 15: the old line, you know, to give a little more
- 36:28Speaker 15: protection to Drake May, to give him a couple of
- 36:31Speaker 15: seconds to be able to throw the ball down the field.
- 36:33Speaker 15: I know that was just one game, this last game,
- 36:36Speaker 15: but you know, I.
- 36:38Speaker 5: Just I just feel like I think everything's on the
- 36:40Speaker 5: table for next year, but I think for this year
- 36:43Speaker 5: you kind of want to stick with what you got
- 36:45Speaker 5: at this point, barring injury, of course, rather than making changes.
- 36:49Speaker 5: But you know there's Cayden Wallace, this guy's on the
- 36:54Speaker 5: practice squad that next year it could be an open competition.
- 36:58Speaker 8: We'll see they're you know, yeah, it's with on when
- 37:01Speaker 8: wu I think, and I'm not saying Mark is wrong,
- 37:04Speaker 8: he's he's dead on. But it's like one or two
- 37:07Speaker 8: reps a game where it just is an egregious lot.
- 37:11Speaker 7: Like a loss that is very obvious, like to everybody
- 37:15Speaker 7: like that.
- 37:15Speaker 8: He gets beat mostly in pass protection, but it's not
- 37:19Speaker 8: you know, he actually plays pretty well on the whole,
- 37:22Speaker 8: but it's those one, you know, kind of big errors
- 37:25Speaker 8: that really cost you in a big spot, like on
- 37:28Speaker 8: the strip sack, you know, in last week's game, but
- 37:31Speaker 8: they're squarely in the guard market in twenty twenty six.
- 37:34Speaker 8: You know, I don't think Jared Wilson's a long term guard.
- 37:37Speaker 8: I think he's gonna get moved inside to center, And
- 37:41Speaker 8: I don't know what their thought process is going to
- 37:43Speaker 8: be long term with on when who he's expensive And
- 37:45Speaker 8: I agree with Mark, I don't think he's necessarily played
- 37:48Speaker 8: to that contract so far. So whether it's replacing one
- 37:52Speaker 8: or two, I don't know, but I think they're gonna
- 37:54Speaker 8: need at least one guard, you know, starting caliber guard
- 37:59Speaker 8: to compete inside.
- 38:00Speaker 7: There.
- 38:01Speaker 4: Randy's in Providence. Hey Randy, Hi.
- 38:05Speaker 14: How's it going all right?
- 38:06Speaker 2: Ernie?
- 38:08Speaker 14: So I'm wondering the run defense looking at the schedule,
- 38:12Speaker 14: when's the next time or when's the first time? I
- 38:14Speaker 14: guess this season that you guys think that we have
- 38:18Speaker 14: like a real risk of seeing say fifty to one
- 38:20Speaker 14: hundred yard rusher because we haven't seen a fifty plus
- 38:24Speaker 14: one yet. And what's the best do you guys know,
- 38:28Speaker 14: like by the numbers, the best run defenses in history?
- 38:32Speaker 14: Because I mean we're kind of getting we're past a
- 38:34Speaker 14: halfway point. These guys are very good on the run defense. Numbers.
- 38:39Speaker 14: It's kind of getting to a point where we can
- 38:41Speaker 14: least talk about, hey, where might they fall. They're currently
- 38:45Speaker 14: giving up seventy five yards of game total.
- 38:48Speaker 4: I know it's crazy somewhere, but you know, to do
- 38:51Speaker 4: it in history is tough because of the change in
- 38:54Speaker 4: the game. You know, like back in the seventies, having
- 38:56Speaker 4: a great run defense is a lot different than today. Yeah,
- 39:00Speaker 4: you know, because teams were just so much you know,
- 39:03Speaker 4: dependent on the game was so much more run orient.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you know.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I mean James Cook, that's you know, shutting him down
- 39:09Speaker 1: twice would be a big challenge. But I mean, he's right.
- 39:12Speaker 1: I love to see book Bucky Erring this week, go
- 39:14Speaker 1: against him, see how it is. But I think Henry,
- 39:17Speaker 1: yeah right, that's I mean, that's not that.
- 39:20Speaker 8: Even the Jets, like the Jets run game is really good.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Yeah, like the Jets.
- 39:25Speaker 7: The Jets run game is I'm their Jet Their run
- 39:29Speaker 7: games isaaa.
- 39:31Speaker 2: What's his name?
- 39:32Speaker 7: Davis? Yeah he's been he's been pretty good too.
- 39:34Speaker 8: They're you know, eighth and success rate their third and
- 39:37Speaker 8: explosive run rate, like they have an explosive run game too,
- 39:40Speaker 8: And so I I guess if Justin Fields goes for
- 39:43Speaker 8: over fifty.
- 39:44Speaker 7: Does that break the streak? I don't.
- 39:45Speaker 8: I don't know, but you know, he's a runner as well,
- 39:48Speaker 8: so I wouldn't sleep on the Jets run game. But
- 39:51Speaker 8: they've been fantastic. The Patriots run defense has been fantastic,
- 39:54Speaker 8: and I think that the way they're stopping to run
- 39:57Speaker 8: is fun. Thanks a little bit different and what they've
- 40:00Speaker 8: done in the past, a little bit more aggressive and
- 40:02Speaker 8: up the field. And yeah, it's been uh, it's been cool.
- 40:05Speaker 8: I mean, best round defensive all time. I don't know,
- 40:09Speaker 8: like that's yeah, but it's been good.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Like they even want. They won right now in the league, and.
- 40:13Speaker 8: In terms of rushing yards per game, yes, but not
- 40:17Speaker 8: in the some of the efficiency metrics, they're like in
- 40:20Speaker 8: the top ten, but not.
- 40:22Speaker 2: If they averaged the least amount of yards rushing per game,
- 40:25Speaker 2: then that's the top rushing defense.
- 40:27Speaker 7: And yeah, in that status, you know, continue.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Analytics can always figure something out.
- 40:32Speaker 7: Well no, oh yeah, it's not down, not down.
- 40:37Speaker 5: They were Eldred Carolina.
- 40:44Speaker 4: What's up? Eldred Aldred.
- 40:52Speaker 7: Hey, yes, sir.
- 40:57Speaker 16: Street, I came back over a little bit. But do
- 41:00Speaker 16: you worry about some of this stuff you do in
- 41:01Speaker 16: North Carolina that cares all year, but other than that,
- 41:05Speaker 16: you're right. So this morning at the Trust stop, just
- 41:08Speaker 16: some coffee, he ain't been talking about Drake May and
- 41:11Speaker 16: the Patriots Number one see on the way till two busy,
- 41:15Speaker 16: y'all need to cut it, cut it out. You know,
- 41:17Speaker 16: that's too far the band with seven and two. You know,
- 41:21Speaker 16: But if it happens, I'm happy it hale. If it don't,
- 41:26Speaker 16: you know, it's just just just him hyping this up.
- 41:29Speaker 16: And I wish they flew it down a little bit.
- 41:31Speaker 16: So they've got a way of jink to feet. But
- 41:33Speaker 16: how you feel about it?
- 41:34Speaker 2: And I take it off the air, all right.
- 41:36Speaker 7: I fans are more than welcome on the bandwagon.
- 41:39Speaker 2: I don't.
- 41:40Speaker 7: I don't scoff at fans out.
- 41:41Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 41:42Speaker 5: Cody writes, saying, Evan gate keeping, Drake May's success is wild.
- 41:46Speaker 4: I love that level of receipt keeping. No one can
- 41:48Speaker 4: say he's good, but me.
- 41:50Speaker 8: I do love the level of receipt I said receipt
- 41:54Speaker 8: keeper like that, but I never said that.
- 41:59Speaker 2: You have one.
- 42:00Speaker 8: And the biggest name on the list is the head
- 42:01Speaker 8: coach of the North Carolina football team, by the way,
- 42:04Speaker 8: But no, I don't I don't say that. I'm the
- 42:08Speaker 8: only one. I just remember the people. Meryll Hodge, I
- 42:13Speaker 8: remember the people.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Asky said two years he says it for two years
- 42:17Speaker 2: now he's the best quarterback in football.
- 42:20Speaker 4: And has anyone heard from Meryl Hodge the coach killer?
- 42:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 42:24Speaker 7: Now, job killer is what it was.
- 42:26Speaker 2: But I'll tell you one guy who has been very
- 42:29Speaker 2: accurate with a lot of that stuff is Tim Hasselbeck,
- 42:32Speaker 2: who was effusive, yeah I did in his praise of
- 42:40Speaker 2: Drake May coming into this draft, and was also very
- 42:43Speaker 2: lukewarm at best on Mac Jones coming into that draft.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Didn't see first round skills. He likes the tools, but yeah,
- 42:50Speaker 2: he's obviously he's like me. He's enamored with the tools.
- 42:54Speaker 4: Claire, Hello, everyone, Hello, Marine, Hello Evan. I totally get it.
- 42:58Speaker 4: They aren't owning.
- 42:59Speaker 5: They weren't in on May, and now they're having the
- 43:02Speaker 5: audacity to tell us May is good when we thought
- 43:06Speaker 5: he was. Anyway, I stand with youf send them home,
- 43:09Speaker 5: You send them home out of here Barton Poland just
- 43:16Speaker 5: to clarify what I meant yesterday, Paul scoffed at the
- 43:19Speaker 5: idea that some teams wouldn't trade with us regardless I
- 43:22Speaker 5: don't want to put words in fred Or Evans's mouth,
- 43:24Speaker 5: but at least what I meant was this, if two
- 43:27Speaker 5: identical offers are on the table, the main sellers Titans, Dolphins,
- 43:31Speaker 5: Jets simply won't pick ours. If both we and the
- 43:34Speaker 5: Eagles offered a third for Phillips, Miami would obviously send
- 43:37Speaker 5: him to Philly. We need to offer a second to
- 43:39Speaker 5: beat that same If both we and the Ravens offered
- 43:42Speaker 5: a conditional fifth to Tennessee for Jones, the Titans would
- 43:45Speaker 5: go with Baltimore instead. And I don't think we were
- 43:48Speaker 5: in the position to overspend on players.
- 43:51Speaker 2: I would agree with that. With the teams that you
- 43:53Speaker 2: used as examples, I think you had two Division teams.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:56Speaker 2: What I mean is everyone that I think is legitimately
- 43:59Speaker 2: in in the mix of Amy Adam Strunk did not
- 44:02Speaker 2: want to deal with Mike Grabel, So I think those
- 44:04Speaker 2: three teams I would absolutely agree with. Bart.
- 44:10Speaker 5: The most interesting Patriots fan in the world, James Pettigrew,
- 44:13Speaker 5: is getting inquiries about why he's so interesting rights and
- 44:17Speaker 5: I'm receiving a number of inquisitions on the pics from
- 44:20Speaker 5: the picture group as to my pseudonym and whether it's earned.
- 44:24Speaker 2: To that end.
- 44:24Speaker 5: I have a serious proposal for the off season. Send
- 44:28Speaker 5: Deuce to Belize and I'll take him into the jungle
- 44:31Speaker 5: for a few nights, and one of the reservations I help,
- 44:34Speaker 5: I can tell him what it's like to attend a
- 44:36Speaker 5: Super Bowl forty nine. It was I that sent you
- 44:40Speaker 5: the picture of Andy's head, Fred, how it felt being
- 44:43Speaker 5: in the crowd at the very first double bye game
- 44:45Speaker 5: in that time I helped end democracy in Chad. Get
- 44:50Speaker 5: him to Belize, Fred, I'll take care of the rest.
- 44:53Speaker 4: It'll certainly be more interesting than those long form Eric
- 44:56Speaker 4: articles about an obscure European special team a phone collection.
- 45:01Speaker 5: Think of it as a hunter S Thompson's style gonzo piece.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Oh wow, believe you're not ready for that, Mike, Mike
- 45:08Speaker 2: to live and I don't think that's a good way
- 45:11Speaker 2: for that. That you noticed he didn't invite me because
- 45:14Speaker 2: he knows. He knows I'm not ready for that.
- 45:16Speaker 1: He thinks I might be ready for him.
- 45:18Speaker 4: Brendan and Evan, surprisingly, I'm with you on this May gatekeeping.
- 45:24Speaker 4: The perfect example is a guy like Tommy Kurrn, the
- 45:27Speaker 4: biggest May doubter, having to slowly change his tune over
- 45:30Speaker 4: time because he's realizing he's wrong.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Well, there's nothing wrong with changing you too. That's the
- 45:35Speaker 2: part that I.
- 45:36Speaker 7: Don't get nothing wrong with that. I didn't say there was.
- 45:39Speaker 4: Rather have people admit facts.
- 45:41Speaker 2: I yeah, I get annoyed the other way when despite
- 45:45Speaker 2: all kinds of evidence to the contrary, I'm just going
- 45:47Speaker 2: to be take cornered and continue down this road that
- 45:50Speaker 2: I'm right because it's me and I'm right and you're wrong.
- 45:53Speaker 1: You'll see, I don't.
- 45:55Speaker 2: I don't.
- 45:56Speaker 7: People can change their minds. That's this isn't what I'm saying.
- 45:59Speaker 2: I do.
- 45:59Speaker 7: Remember, I want a public public that's what I want.
- 46:03Speaker 1: I'm proud.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I remember.
- 46:04Speaker 1: I had a funny interaction with Tom statement I found
- 46:07Speaker 1: at the owners meetings last year, because you know, that's
- 46:09Speaker 1: in the lead up to the draft and we're like
- 46:11Speaker 1: waiting in line at the hotel Little Deli and I
- 46:14Speaker 1: was just like, and he was like, you know, I
- 46:15Speaker 1: think they're ready for the I'm like, I don't know.
- 46:17Speaker 1: I just want Drake May. I was like, I just
- 46:19Speaker 1: want Drake.
- 46:19Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm not going to overthink this too much.
- 46:21Speaker 2: That's like and again, that's to me, what makes this fun.
- 46:25Speaker 2: And I know you guys always like, you know, how
- 46:27Speaker 2: can Paul argue everything? Because that's fun to me. Like
- 46:31Speaker 2: someone had a mentality that you can't build a team
- 46:34Speaker 2: by getting the quarterback first, and you have to get
- 46:37Speaker 2: the stuff around him, prop them up and get a structure,
- 46:40Speaker 2: you know, and support him. And I would just say,
- 46:43Speaker 2: there's a million different ways to do it, and there's
- 46:45Speaker 2: no I'm not telling you that the way the Patriots
- 46:47Speaker 2: are doing it right now was the right way. It's
- 46:50Speaker 2: working because Drake May is right now proving to be
- 46:54Speaker 2: worthy of the third overall pick and progressing to the
- 46:57Speaker 2: point where he's making players better. The Jets we talked
- 47:00Speaker 2: about yesterday did it the other way. They did it
- 47:03Speaker 2: the tom Current way. They drafted some good players, and
- 47:07Speaker 2: ultimately those guys ended up looking not as good as
- 47:09Speaker 2: they probably are because they didn't have the support around
- 47:12Speaker 2: them with the quarterback. Yeah, and they weren't able to
- 47:14Speaker 2: win games. Evan called it like an overrated roster, which
- 47:17Speaker 2: he might be right. You know, those players maybe weren't
- 47:20Speaker 2: as good as some people think they are. I think
- 47:22Speaker 2: they were, but you'll never know because they missed on
- 47:26Speaker 2: Zach Wilson when they drafted those guys, and Zach Wilson
- 47:28Speaker 2: might be one of the biggest busts out of all
- 47:30Speaker 2: of those quarterbacks taken early over the last you know,
- 47:33Speaker 2: five years.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's also you make the right moves,
- 47:37Speaker 1: like you know, it's not everybody, Well we have the
- 47:39Speaker 1: franchise left tackle like you didn't. But you know, a
- 47:42Speaker 1: team like Washington last year, we go out and you
- 47:44Speaker 1: signed some veterans in. You plug the holes and maybe
- 47:46Speaker 1: they're not you know, guys that are going to be
- 47:49Speaker 1: in position for ten years, but you've at least made
- 47:51Speaker 1: it solid enough that this year from Drake May, he's
- 47:53Speaker 1: going to be able to compete. He's got enough protection
- 47:57Speaker 1: to make plays.
- 47:58Speaker 2: And then when the quarterback is good, he makes those
- 48:00Speaker 2: guys look a little bit better, which and I think
- 48:02Speaker 2: Daniels did the same thing in Washington last year. I
- 48:05Speaker 2: don't think those guys were that quote unquote that good.
- 48:07Speaker 2: I think he really want to.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Like the Brandon Coleman kid, what they drafted him in
- 48:11Speaker 1: like the third round, he played left tackle for them
- 48:13Speaker 1: last year. It wasn't the long term answer for them,
- 48:15Speaker 1: so they you know, they still went out this year
- 48:17Speaker 1: and filled that position.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Similar.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Just what we were talking about, yeah this morning was
- 48:23Speaker 1: you know, there's always going to be a need next year,
- 48:25Speaker 1: There's always going to be a need coming down the pike.
- 48:27Speaker 1: There's always going to be a contract that you have
- 48:29Speaker 1: to you know, figure out. But again, it's just I
- 48:32Speaker 1: just remember where we were two years ago when you're
- 48:35Speaker 1: we don't know what we're going to do out the quarterback,
- 48:36Speaker 1: like you know.
- 48:37Speaker 2: It's like you know the gs like that particularly, I mean.
- 48:40Speaker 1: That, and that just hung over everything we talked about
- 48:42Speaker 1: how do they find the quarterback? And now you know
- 48:44Speaker 1: that's off the table. They have plenty of other things
- 48:46Speaker 1: that they're going to have to manage and fix and
- 48:48Speaker 1: you know, continue to build. But it just solved so
- 48:50Speaker 1: many problems.
- 48:51Speaker 8: It's pretty remarkable how bulletproof he's been. Like even his
- 48:55Speaker 8: rookie season, he still played really well on the whole
- 48:58Speaker 8: on a team that was not very good around him.
- 49:00Speaker 8: There's kind of a disaster around him, and he still
- 49:03Speaker 8: was able to do it. And now this team he's
- 49:05Speaker 8: turning like an average supporting cast into a great one.
- 49:09Speaker 8: And you just brought up Zach Wilson. You know a
- 49:13Speaker 8: lot of young quarterbacks, they're not good enough to go
- 49:17Speaker 8: into a bad situation and be bulletproof.
- 49:19Speaker 7: And Drake May has been like Drake.
- 49:21Speaker 8: May's for all the roster Deficienciason, like that rookie season
- 49:26Speaker 8: for a lot of young quarterbacks that could have broken him.
- 49:29Speaker 8: That he was in such a bad situation and he
- 49:31Speaker 8: was able to come out the other side of it
- 49:33Speaker 8: and just kind of be immune to it, which I
- 49:36Speaker 8: think is incredible.
- 49:37Speaker 4: Kyle and Pembroke has a would you rather game for
- 49:40Speaker 4: this Sunday Drake May throws three hundred plus yards or
- 49:43Speaker 4: Henderson runs for one hundred plus yards Drake.
- 49:47Speaker 2: I'm gonna go Drake.
- 49:48Speaker 5: Drake May and Baker throw four plus touchdowns each or
- 49:52Speaker 5: both throw two touchdowns or less each.
- 49:55Speaker 1: I'll go two or leo or less. Yeah.
- 49:58Speaker 4: Kyle Williams having fifty plus f receiving yards or e
- 50:01Speaker 4: ft and Chisholm having fifty plus receiving Kyle Williams and
- 50:05Speaker 4: finally Pop Douglas having one hundred plus yards or Digs
- 50:08Speaker 4: having one hundred plus yards Digs six.
- 50:12Speaker 1: I like to see Diggs, you know, have a have
- 50:14Speaker 1: another one of those kind of games, you know. I
- 50:16Speaker 1: think that it's been a little quiet.
- 50:18Speaker 5: I mean, like one of them to have one hundred
- 50:19Speaker 5: plus the other have ninety nine, then we're good.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Then we're good. Asking for round numbers asking too much?
- 50:27Speaker 2: I know not, I said not ask.
- 50:30Speaker 4: Has Drake had a three hundred plus passing game yet?
- 50:33Speaker 2: I don't believe his career.
- 50:34Speaker 7: In his career, I don't know about career, but not
- 50:38Speaker 7: this year yet.
- 50:39Speaker 2: No, Okay, the coming do you think that? In the cards?
- 50:42Speaker 8: I think it's just more of been about volume, Like
- 50:44Speaker 8: I think he easily could have thrown for three hundred
- 50:46Speaker 8: yards in some of these games, but they haven't had him.
- 50:49Speaker 4: Yep.
- 50:49Speaker 7: Needed toward the end, needed to drop back as often.
- 50:52Speaker 6: So to eighty seven is his highest yeah in this career?
- 50:57Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, to.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Eighty two against Cleveland a couple of weeks go. It's
- 51:01Speaker 1: flirting with it.
- 51:02Speaker 7: But I give that Cleveland game.
- 51:03Speaker 2: How many fourth quarter do you have his stats in
- 51:05Speaker 2: that game?
- 51:07Speaker 1: I just have the basics right now, Yeah, like two
- 51:11Speaker 1: eighty two, three touchdowns, one interception, one thirty five point eight.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Rating, no, no attempts in completion.
- 51:16Speaker 1: I can get to that for you.
- 51:17Speaker 8: Pall not a big police I mean that game was
- 51:20Speaker 8: over at the end of the third quarter.
- 51:21Speaker 2: So, but they were bombing away. It's not like they
- 51:24Speaker 2: stopped throwing.
- 51:24Speaker 7: But if they had to really keep scoring, I think if.
- 51:28Speaker 1: They're gotten to shootout, he would have gone over three
- 51:30Speaker 1: on eighteen to twenty four with six sacks and how
- 51:34Speaker 1: many runs?
- 51:35Speaker 2: So they threw the ball about thirty two thirty three times.
- 51:39Speaker 1: You mean his runs are the runs for the team? No,
- 51:41Speaker 1: his runs, His runs were seven. I mean his runs
- 51:44Speaker 1: the last four weeks. I mean that's thirteen in addition
- 51:47Speaker 1: to twenty four. Yeah, I mean it kind of feeds
- 51:49Speaker 1: into Evans thing. It's like if you just look at
- 51:51Speaker 1: Drake's rushing attempts in the game, you kind of have
- 51:52Speaker 1: a sense of you know, I mean he had the
- 51:55Speaker 1: last four games is eight seven, eight nine. Before that
- 51:58Speaker 1: it was three to three, seven to ten, and we two.
- 52:02Speaker 1: I guess that's not entirely correct with Miami, but.
- 52:06Speaker 4: Uh, Dan and Hyde Park has some praise for Deuce
- 52:11Speaker 4: Juice is underappreciated. In a two minute span on yesterday's show,
- 52:14Speaker 4: he made a funny ELF reference when Francisco called in.
- 52:17Speaker 4: Then someone named Monroe called in, and I'm pretty sure
- 52:20Speaker 4: he made a last of the Mohicans refd.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Hell Yeah, dude.
- 52:23Speaker 2: Yes, no one acknowledged him.
- 52:24Speaker 4: Don't worry, Deuce, I'm picking up what you're putting down.
- 52:27Speaker 2: So I apologize. I'm not a Last of the Mohicans,
- 52:31Speaker 2: so I did not pick up on that. I don't
- 52:32Speaker 2: know what that right. I definitely picked up roll in
- 52:34Speaker 2: the other.
- 52:35Speaker 7: I wasn't here for the Last of the Mohicans reference.
- 52:37Speaker 2: I missed that.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Well, oh, you're.
- 52:40Speaker 7: Talking about the movie. I thought you were talking about
- 52:42Speaker 7: South Park.
- 52:44Speaker 3: One.
- 52:45Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, another one, which is I would not have
- 52:47Speaker 7: gone it either.
- 52:48Speaker 4: I wouldn't have gotten the last of the movie.
- 52:50Speaker 1: That's a deep.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Is it from the movie or the book?
- 52:54Speaker 1: No, it's from the movie. I tried to read the
- 52:56Speaker 1: book when I was young because I loved the movie
- 52:57Speaker 1: so much. You guys seen that movie. That movie is amazing.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Learned so much better.
- 53:04Speaker 1: We go to some Native American I especially Northeastern Native
- 53:09Speaker 1: American history.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Well, you know there is a branch of the do
- 53:12Speaker 4: So family that we're a That's what.
- 53:15Speaker 1: They say, but I can't find it in my DNA.
- 53:17Speaker 1: My my grandmother was convinced we had Native American blood.
- 53:21Speaker 3: May Flower.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Well you have connection to the Mayflower, you, Elizabeth Warner,
- 53:25Speaker 1: we did we did the you know, the DNA test.
- 53:27Speaker 1: There was no.
- 53:29Speaker 2: I don't know what that's gonna cost me. And my
- 53:32Speaker 2: mentions shouldn't have said that, how are you with a
- 53:34Speaker 2: bow and arrow?
- 53:35Speaker 1: It's just solids and the kid's got a couple of
- 53:37Speaker 1: bow and arrows. And I like to go out there
- 53:39Speaker 1: and and and you know, sling it around a little bit.
- 53:41Speaker 1: But I did. I did not well.
- 53:48Speaker 4: Jacob from Illinois has a stump to Paul email. He says,
- 53:53Speaker 4: to preface this, I sent this last week and Matt
- 53:55Speaker 4: replied saying he'd send me a shirt. Uh not what
- 53:58Speaker 4: I want to earn it.
- 54:00Speaker 2: I honestly, he just wants it right on air.
- 54:02Speaker 4: So anyway, here's there's the question.
- 54:04Speaker 5: In November of twenty eleven, Paul, the Patriots played the
- 54:07Speaker 5: Jets and Sunday Night Football. Two players for the Patriots
- 54:11Speaker 5: defense made their first career start that night. However, NBC
- 54:14Speaker 5: didn't have time to film them for their intro for
- 54:16Speaker 5: their name in alma mater. Instead, they got a headshot
- 54:20Speaker 5: ripped from the team roster uh roster picks in awkward silence.
- 54:25Speaker 4: Who were these two players?
- 54:26Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 54:28Speaker 4: I kind of remember that story.
- 54:29Speaker 7: That is very Paul's like it's like Jersey numbers and like,
- 54:34Speaker 7: you know.
- 54:34Speaker 4: Do you remember the game? What was the score? Twenty
- 54:38Speaker 4: eleven Jets?
- 54:39Speaker 2: Where was it? Uh, Sunday night football?
- 54:43Speaker 4: I don't.
- 54:43Speaker 5: I don't know if Neworker here, yeah, or New Jersey.
- 54:48Speaker 5: I should say, like is it the.
- 54:49Speaker 2: Butt football game?
- 54:51Speaker 4: That's the first thing I thought I was giving. Yeah, okay,
- 54:54Speaker 4: I was twelve giving Yeah, anyway, the Patriots starting the Castle.
- 54:58Speaker 4: The Patriots won twenty seve in twenty.
- 55:00Speaker 2: Three, twenty seven to twenty oh no, that's.
- 55:03Speaker 4: For this game. That's his prediction. But the two players
- 55:06Speaker 4: are Jeff Tarpinian and Sterling More.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Wow, okay, Jeff Tarpinian played that late twenty eleven. According
- 55:15Speaker 2: to the emailer, get some stamp. I mean, I never
- 55:18Speaker 2: would have never gotten that sterring More twenty eleven if
- 55:21Speaker 2: I gave it some thought. I might have come up
- 55:23Speaker 2: with that because he was responded, that's an off air.
- 55:28Speaker 2: I don't know why you have to do that.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Well, sorry, he's just string morning.
- 55:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's personal. Sorry, but I might have come up
- 55:38Speaker 2: with that because he made the big play in the
- 55:40Speaker 2: AMC Championship game.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Yeah, when which was a.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I got his handed he did, got it. Complete
- 55:49Speaker 2: the catch.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Complete the catch.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Today, it would be a touchdown.
- 55:52Speaker 4: Tony's in Canada. Hey Tony, Tony.
- 55:55Speaker 17: Hi guys, good morning.
- 55:56Speaker 2: Hey.
- 55:58Speaker 17: Yeah, So, I just wanted to give my two cents
- 56:00Speaker 17: worth regarding the fact that we haven't picked up any
- 56:03Speaker 17: players here in the last little while. We were sellers,
- 56:07Speaker 17: not buyers. And I'm honestly, I'm pretty happy with the
- 56:11Speaker 17: way the Patriots are building the team right now, and
- 56:15Speaker 17: I'm looking forward to the draft next year. I don't
- 56:19Speaker 17: mean to say that I've given up on the season, No,
- 56:21Speaker 17: far from it. I'm very optimistic, but I'm happy to
- 56:25Speaker 17: see the way they're building a team. It's the slow approach.
- 56:28Speaker 17: And this is actually my position of this has changed
- 56:31Speaker 17: quite a bit. Last year. I was thinking we need
- 56:34Speaker 17: to go out and get, you know, wide receivers and
- 56:36Speaker 17: do the big free agent signings for those those wide receivers,
- 56:41Speaker 17: the household names. Now I'm more interested in I hope
- 56:44Speaker 17: that we focus more on the O line and D line.
- 56:48Speaker 17: And yeah, that's pretty much all I wanted to say.
- 56:50Speaker 17: And one last request. I didn't hear Paul say that
- 56:54Speaker 17: we got our a guy regarding May and I wonder
- 56:57Speaker 17: if he would, if he would be so kind to
- 57:00Speaker 17: say so, because I'd love to hear it with.
- 57:03Speaker 2: May we got our guy, absolutely, we got our guy.
- 57:06Speaker 2: We got our guy, no question.
- 57:09Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, So there you go, Tony. I hope you're happy.
- 57:12Speaker 4: Desmond's in decent, easy ques Desmond to fulfill Desmond.
- 57:21Speaker 2: All right, that's red dropping more called ridder of Desmond.
- 57:29Speaker 4: William writes in I'm really hoping for a great game,
- 57:31Speaker 4: bringing my mom, who's battling cancer. She's from Quincy but
- 57:35Speaker 4: raised me in Florida. Last game we went to was
- 57:37Speaker 4: Brady's last game in Miami as a Patriot. I think
- 57:40Speaker 4: the score was forty eight to nothing. I'm believing something
- 57:43Speaker 4: similar will happen in Tampa.
- 57:44Speaker 2: No. Forty three, forty three. That was the entire hope
- 57:48Speaker 2: too Brown game. Oh boy, I hope it's uh something
- 57:52Speaker 2: like that.
- 57:53Speaker 5: I I could use a nice game where I can
- 57:55Speaker 5: just relax.
- 57:55Speaker 2: And because it's all about your relaxation, that's right, right,
- 57:59Speaker 2: it's definitely, but you got that right.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Definitely. The high point of that season was that after
- 58:04Speaker 1: that win, I think it was kind of.
- 58:05Speaker 2: What was the low point?
- 58:07Speaker 1: Everything else probably the well I mean, but then the
- 58:12Speaker 1: Buffalo win and then and then it was just kind
- 58:14Speaker 1: of I'm sorry, I confused my nights different season that Baltimore.
- 58:20Speaker 1: I think Baltimore loss was kind of reality coming home
- 58:23Speaker 1: to roost.
- 58:24Speaker 2: I would agree, you know, but the Baltimore game told
- 58:27Speaker 2: me that they weren't.
- 58:28Speaker 1: It's funny when I looked back, you know, it was
- 58:30Speaker 1: like my first year here, and I remember like I
- 58:32Speaker 1: had picked Baltimore in the game, and I felt kind
- 58:34Speaker 1: of weird about it, like is this all right?
- 58:36Speaker 2: Like I picked the other.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Team to win, you know, But it was the thing
- 58:39Speaker 1: where they were undefeated and like, but we still kind
- 58:42Speaker 1: of knew that they, like, I don't know, they had
- 58:45Speaker 1: this like epic defense they had, Like the numbers were
- 58:48Speaker 1: like legendary, making this out to be one of the
- 58:49Speaker 1: best defenses of all time. And you know, you have
- 58:52Speaker 1: people calling and saying, we're being negative about this team.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Even then we were kind of being negative about it,
- 58:57Speaker 1: like an eight to no team that was you know,
- 58:58Speaker 1: going into place a Baltimore team. Knew that team was fun.
- 59:01Speaker 2: And that was the night that I realized that they
- 59:04Speaker 2: probably weren't. Because that never really happened to the Patriots.
- 59:06Speaker 2: They could lose. I mean eight No, you go to
- 59:09Speaker 2: Indy or whatever and you lose, you lose. But like
- 59:11Speaker 2: they got thoroughly out played in that game.
- 59:13Speaker 1: Yeah, like Mohammed san Nu.
- 59:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I just remember them getting the ball the first
- 59:18Speaker 2: time and Lamar Jackson went right down the field on him, which,
- 59:22Speaker 2: like you like, Bill will have something for Lamar Jackson.
- 59:25Speaker 2: No one can stop this offense, but Bill will. They didn't.
- 59:28Speaker 2: I think they gave up like forty points that maybe
- 59:30Speaker 2: thirty eight points. So that was Yeah, that was kind
- 59:34Speaker 2: of an eye opener. That was the night that al
- 59:35Speaker 2: Michaels told everybody that Tom Brady was the most miserable
- 59:38Speaker 2: eight no quarterback for him, and Tom Brady told us
- 59:41Speaker 2: after the game.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Well yeah, but he had told al Michaels told us
- 59:44Speaker 1: with his body language, all right.
- 59:46Speaker 5: We're going to take a break. More calls and emails
- 59:49Speaker 5: right after this.

- 1:03:49Speaker 1: to be joined by Matt Collins, fresh off the practice
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: field here for kicking things off against the Bucks. How
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: is practice today?
- 1:03:54Speaker 22: Max was great, Always good to get out there and
- 1:03:56Speaker 22: get some work in after for a couple of days off.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: So I got to take you back a minute because
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: and I we were out in Vegas back in twenty
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: twenty two for the joint practices, and yeah, I found
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: DeVante Adams was impressive. But I'm watching it. I'm like,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: this mac Hollins guy is a problem. And you know,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: so when you signed here, I was like, this makes
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: all the sense in the world to me. You had
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: a great year with Josh. Is there something about him,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: this system or it just that attracted you to New
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: England to pick up where you kind of left off
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: there in Vegas.
- 1:04:20Speaker 22: Yeah, I think it's just you know, it's all about
- 1:04:23Speaker 22: executing and do whatever you can for the team, and
- 1:04:25Speaker 22: I think that's kind of something that my game reflects.
- 1:04:28Speaker 22: Whatever it takes, whether it's blocking or whether it's pass
- 1:04:31Speaker 22: catching or special teams, whatever it is, they're going to
- 1:04:33Speaker 22: give you opportunity if you continue to do the right things.
- 1:04:36Speaker 22: So I was super excited when I found out Josh
- 1:04:39Speaker 22: was over here.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: I was like, come on, let's give it another run.
- 1:04:42Speaker 8: So we were talking to coach Rayo was doing his
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: press conference earlier today and he said forty one guys
- 1:04:48Speaker 8: showed up on the off day to lift, and that
- 1:04:50Speaker 8: was a pretty high number. I thought, and just what
- 1:04:53Speaker 8: have you seen from kind of the buy in and
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: the energy right now, because you know, we had ten
- 1:04:57Speaker 8: weeks in without a buye week.
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: It's been a long haul here.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:00Speaker 22: For sure, it's always exciting to get guys in there
- 1:05:03Speaker 22: because I'm I'm a Tuesday lift guy. I like to
- 1:05:05Speaker 22: get it out of the way and play football on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
- 1:05:09Speaker 22: So to see more guys in there, I think it
- 1:05:10Speaker 22: just gives more energy to the whole weight room, especially
- 1:05:13Speaker 22: when you get young guys in there that just see, hey,
- 1:05:15Speaker 22: this is what we this is what the standard is.
- 1:05:16Speaker 22: We're just gonna go and I'm gonna make sure I
- 1:05:18Speaker 22: get my lift in. Yeah, it's off day, but it's
- 1:05:20Speaker 22: more of a I don't have meetings off day, not
- 1:05:23Speaker 22: a I'm done with football off day.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna say one of the coolest relationships I think
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: this year has been you and Fton, Like you guys
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: seem to just have this bond. And remember back in
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: camp you're talking about, you know, driving together, and it
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: seems like that's continued into the regular season, like, well,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: what's up. Been like taking the young undrafted brook you know,
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: under your wing a little bit. Yeah, absolutely, he's it's
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: been great.
- 1:05:40Speaker 22: It's been great to work with him and his willingness
- 1:05:45Speaker 22: to continue to work. You know, I've worked with a
- 1:05:47Speaker 22: lot of young guys in camp and then it kind
- 1:05:49Speaker 22: of fades away. But he's he's there every every day.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: That I'm in there.
- 1:05:53Speaker 22: He's pushing me the same way that I'm pushing him,
- 1:05:55Speaker 22: and that's the way that you want it to be.
- 1:05:58Speaker 22: And selfishly, I'm like, I'm getting work out of him
- 1:06:00Speaker 22: because if I don't show up now he can look
- 1:06:02Speaker 22: at me like, Mac, why aren't you there? And then
- 1:06:03Speaker 22: he can give me crap and the guys laugh because
- 1:06:06Speaker 22: they're like Mac, he turned them into a miniu And
- 1:06:08Speaker 22: I'm like, what's wrong with that? I just want to
- 1:06:10Speaker 22: work all day. He just want to scream, me, yell
- 1:06:12Speaker 22: and work hard.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: Well, it seems like such a key thing because you know,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: we look last year, we were like this room kind
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: of needs some leadership, and it seems like you and
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: Steph have really come in and gotten this group. Everybody's
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: pulling the right direction. Everybody's pulling for each other. A
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago, you have a big game, Pop
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: has a big game last week, everybody's contributing. Like what's
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: just what's the feeling in the room like right now
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: with all you guys stepping up and you know, contributing
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: key spots.
- 1:06:32Speaker 22: Absolutely, that's that was the message from the very beginning
- 1:06:35Speaker 22: is Hey, you don't know when your time is going
- 1:06:37Speaker 22: to be. And that's whether it's from coach downing me, Steph,
- 1:06:40Speaker 22: anybody in the room. Hey, your opportunity is whenever you're
- 1:06:43Speaker 22: on the field. It's not Hey, this is your week.
- 1:06:45Speaker 22: Every week is your week and you just don't know.
- 1:06:48Speaker 22: And it's showing whether it's me or Pop or Kashawan
- 1:06:50Speaker 22: or whether it's Chis or Kyle this week. You know,
- 1:06:52Speaker 22: everybody has a week and you're just always ready and
- 1:06:56Speaker 22: it's exciting to be in a room like that where
- 1:06:57Speaker 22: everybody when we go out to the prackfield, it is
- 1:06:59Speaker 22: like you got to come to come to work because
- 1:07:00Speaker 22: this could be my week. So every week of practice
- 1:07:03Speaker 22: is hard, every every game is exciting. And that's what
- 1:07:05Speaker 22: a receiver room is supposed to be.
- 1:07:06Speaker 8: Like I was just gonna say, is Efton gonna stop
- 1:07:09Speaker 8: wearing shoes and stuff, you know, wearing costumes.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: That's some time to do. He's there, Yeah, maybe a few.
- 1:07:16Speaker 22: He does do some barefoot stuff with me, but he's
- 1:07:18Speaker 22: not He's not fully about.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: A joint costume when we got I mean, we see last.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: Couple of weeks. We'll see.
- 1:07:24Speaker 22: We'll see if if it's something that's worthwhile and means something,
- 1:07:26Speaker 22: I'll do it.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: But I won't do it just for the fun of it. Absolutely.
- 1:07:29Speaker 8: The last one for me, just got to ask you
- 1:07:30Speaker 8: about Drake and just working with him and he My
- 1:07:34Speaker 8: favorite throw that he makes is that whole shot that
- 1:07:36Speaker 8: he hit you on in Tennessee, because he throw that
- 1:07:39Speaker 8: ball better than any quarterback you've played with.
- 1:07:40Speaker 7: Because it's pretty amazing how he puts it in there.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he's pretty impressive.
- 1:07:45Speaker 22: And it's not it's nice to you know, obviously have
- 1:07:47Speaker 22: a quarterback that can sling the rock, but it's something
- 1:07:50Speaker 22: he works on. It's not you know, he didn't go
- 1:07:51Speaker 22: to Tennessee and I was like, oh, that's the first
- 1:07:53Speaker 22: time I've seen that ball throw. You know, it's been
- 1:07:55Speaker 22: since I've been here in OTAs working those throws. And
- 1:07:58Speaker 22: you know, he's got he's had bad ones in practice
- 1:08:01Speaker 22: and developed and got better and better and better every
- 1:08:03Speaker 22: week and that's why he's able to execute in a game.
- 1:08:06Speaker 22: So it's it's great to know that no matter what
- 1:08:08Speaker 22: routes you're running, he might be able to fit it there,
- 1:08:11Speaker 22: Like he might be able to throw that. So like,
- 1:08:12Speaker 22: don't don't slow down, don't think, oh he wouldn't throw this.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: He's gonna if.
- 1:08:16Speaker 22: You're you're out there, you're there to run a route
- 1:08:18Speaker 22: and run a successful route and get open and let
- 1:08:20Speaker 22: him decide where he wants to put the ball.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: Yeah, last one, just to wrap it up, what do
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: you guys got to do down in Tampa Bay to
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: keep this win streak going?
- 1:08:26Speaker 22: What Rave' has been saying, travel with that identity, you know,
- 1:08:29Speaker 22: do the things that have allowed us to have success
- 1:08:32Speaker 22: throughout the year, taking care of the ball, having effort
- 1:08:34Speaker 22: and finish and everything we do, the details, and then
- 1:08:37Speaker 22: making great decisions before the play, after the play.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: And during the play.
- 1:08:40Speaker 22: That's what you know helps you win games in this league,
- 1:08:42Speaker 22: whether you're on the road or you're at home.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Yeah, well, thanks back this weekend out.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: He appreciate it. And now great moments in.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: History.
- 1:08:53Speaker 8: If there's five guys across the line of scrimmage, right,
- 1:08:56Speaker 8: and then there's five offensive linement, a lot of blitz.
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: But some kuys, some kuys, sometimes guys drop out, and
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: then it comes from a safety's But so it's it's
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: it doesn't matter where they come from. It's how many come.
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: But if it's if they run, but if well, if
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: I have an extra tight end as a blocker, then
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: it's not a blitz. But it's five on five, five
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: hats on five ads, but that'd be six on five whatever.
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: If I have a hat on every hat, it's not a.
- 1:09:28Speaker 8: Blitz, right, that's what I'm Yeah, but it doesn't matter
- 1:09:32Speaker 8: where it comes from.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: I don't know what they're arguing about.
- 1:09:34Speaker 10: You know, how does it not matter where it comes from?
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: If I if I have if they only have five,
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: if I have five blockers and they have five people coming,
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: it's not a blitz.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: I don't care if it comes from the safety, but.
- 1:09:48Speaker 7: It matters a lot because of the protection scheme.
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: Well, they might screw up because of that, but that
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: doesn't mean it's a blitz.
- 1:09:53Speaker 7: But it's not screwing up.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: So if they send, if they drop a defensive tackle
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: and a cornerback comes on the blitz, is that a blitz?
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: They only Russian, that's a drop.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: Somebody out, But that's a red dog.
- 1:10:04Speaker 7: No, no, no dog.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Just jumped the red dog.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: I don't know. That's another great moment.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: All right, Yeah, so all right, No, it's time for
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: everybody's newest favorite segment, Paul. It's co Pilot Question of
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: the Week, presented by Microsoft co Pilot, where every day
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: is game day and where every decision is powered by
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: insight innovation. Microsoft technology helps to make decisions faster, insights sharper,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: and strategies more adaptive. So, guys, this week, we're going
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: to stick with some history, Patriots and bucks, and of
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: course I'm making a whole project on the eighty five season,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: which will be coming out soon. And so we're going
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: back to the nineteen eighty five matchup for the Patriots
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Paul, I'm screwed, and we're
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: going very specific player here, and maybe you won't have
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: the exact answer, but you can maybe tell me a
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: little something about Don Blackman. A very special day for
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: him that has stood up and not only Patriots history
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: but NFL history. You know what it was, Paul or Fred?
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: What did Don Blackman do that special day? And then
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: while you're thinking, I can just point out that we
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: love Andre Tippet. Of course he works here. He's got
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: a nice picture right over there. But Don Blackman, on
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: the other side, was an absolute nightmare. Injury cut his
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: career short. But this was his best season. So do
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: you want going to tell you what?
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: He was a terrific player. So what is there a
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: specific game?
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Yes, against the Tampa Bay Bucks in nineteen eighty five.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: If you had told me that they played the Bucks
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: in eighty five, I wouldn't remembered.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: Now this is before your time, This is before your time.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: So I will tell you, guys, what was special about
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: this game? Was that Don Blackman picked up his second
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: safety of the season, which they're eighteen way tie in
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: the NFL for players who have had two safeties in
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: one season. It's also a Patriots record for Don Blackman.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: But huge season for him. He had eight sacks on
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: the year. He also had his only interception of the
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: game against the Buccaneers and that was his career of
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: his career.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: You needed AI to come up with this.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: Sometimes did see here. Thanks for that really lays it
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: all out. But it was a game ceiling safety as well.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: But a big game for Don Blackman, who I thought
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: deserved a little bit of love. As I've done this
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: eighty five projects, he's really stood out and they're right
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: out of the gate. Game won that season. Tip had
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: three sacks. He had three sacks, and it was kind
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: of that was the first game of the season. This
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: wasn't the first game of the season. They did play
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: the Packers here in Foxborough in Week one. Both those
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: guys had probably it sounds about right like Lynn Dickey
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: maybe with the with the quarterback, I believe David Whitehurst,
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: I guess we're going to green Bay said the opening
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: game was green Bay.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I'm trying to think who was.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: The second game was at Chicago, lost twenty.
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: What's the quarterback of the Bucks in eighty five?
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: Steve de Burgh? Was it the bird? The burg Burn?
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Okay, Steve the Bird know someone? So there's your co
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: pilot question.
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: I would not have had that give the rest of
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: the nineties.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: But it's been a sporadic kind of run for the
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: Patriots Buccaneers. They had large wretches of time where they
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: did not face each other.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: I mean the seventies and eighties. I'm good for trivia too,
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: I just don't have any.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: It's pretty random, it's pretty deep.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: I thought you were going to go with, if I'm
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: not mistaken, the first ever overtime win in Patriots history
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: was over the Bucks.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: Well, that probably would have been a better one.
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: Ten seven and overtime in like eighty six or seven
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: somewhere around there, somewhere, you know, and the.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Well, maybe I should consult you with l eighties, but.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: I think it was the first because they had lost.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: They lost like their first eight or ten overtime games
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: in franchise history, and then that was I think the
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: first one that they won.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna effort that I'm gonna go to the locker room.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna copilot. I'll find out check the cop pilot
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: where I get back.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: On how they gets the right information and asked Paul
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: Paul GPT.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Don't worry. I'll be back soon for picks up.
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: Has to go. He'll be back though. Hustle it up
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: while we wait for Deuce. We'll get back to you.
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: Desmond's calling back from Washington, d C. What's up, Desmond?
- 1:14:01Speaker 11: How y'all doing.
- 1:14:05Speaker 23: A long time listener, first time caller. I just want
- 1:14:08Speaker 23: to say, first, don't stop what y'all doing. I think
- 1:14:12Speaker 23: that's what makes the show. Another thing I want to
- 1:14:16Speaker 23: say about the trade deadline, I think it speaks more
- 1:14:19Speaker 23: about our team that we.
- 1:14:20Speaker 11: Were sellers, not buyers. I think this team we're just
- 1:14:25Speaker 11: growing each week. Each practice, you get work for all
- 1:14:29Speaker 11: these things that we're doing as a team on and
- 1:14:31Speaker 11: off the field. And then, lastly, I want to say,
- 1:14:37Speaker 11: as a fan, I get the optimism. I just want
- 1:14:41Speaker 11: us all just to stay in the moment, like the team,
- 1:14:44Speaker 11: take it one week at a time. It's good to
- 1:14:48Speaker 11: have all these aspirations, but I feel like we should
- 1:14:51Speaker 11: just tone.
- 1:14:52Speaker 23: It down and that's all.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: I understand what's coming from listen. I'm all for the enthusiasm.
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: I don't go crazy, But what I'm worried about is
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: at the end of the season, if they don't win
- 1:15:04Speaker 4: a Super Bowl, people being upset. That's not fair.
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: Or if you don't go deep into the playoffs. I
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: don't think that's fair. You know, right, thrilled about the future.
- 1:15:16Speaker 9: I feel like that's how most fans feel. I feel
- 1:15:19Speaker 9: like most fans right now are just happy to be here.
- 1:15:21Speaker 9: They're enjoying Sundays again.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:23Speaker 9: I think a lot of people maybe took the Brady
- 1:15:25Speaker 9: years for granted and being so good for so long,
- 1:15:29Speaker 9: and then they got knocked down to reality.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: So I feel like people are actually taking.
- 1:15:33Speaker 9: A really grounded approach to this run good No, in
- 1:15:36Speaker 9: my experience, Yeah.
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: Isn't it fun?
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: Everyday?
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: Like what, you know, what's Drake going to do this week?
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: What receivers or offensive player is going to be? You know,
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: the person who steps forward this week? Is the run
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: defense going to continue? You know, there's like really positive
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: things to look forward to every week. It's great and
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: we're not going to win every game, you know, but
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: I'm I'm happy.
- 1:16:03Speaker 9: I haven't seen a lot of I don't know, it's
- 1:16:08Speaker 9: a lot more like, oh my god, I can't believe
- 1:16:09Speaker 9: we're as good as we are unless, like we have
- 1:16:11Speaker 9: to go this far, these are the expectations.
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: Yeah, Boston Cream's on the line.
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: Hey, Boston Cream, guys, I'm sick.
- 1:16:19Speaker 13: And tired of Patriots telling me not to be optimistic.
- 1:16:23Speaker 13: We're Patriots fans. We're supposed to be illogical.
- 1:16:26Speaker 14: All right, eighteen and two straight to the super Bowl,
- 1:16:29Speaker 14: Drake may MVP can't tell me otherwise.
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: Okay, but you're not gonna be like crestfallen if it
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: doesn't happen.
- 1:16:36Speaker 15: Right, Wow, I might be a bit dissuaded, but okay.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you're disappointed and like pissed off for
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: two different things.
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: Yeah, thanks Boston Cream, right right, Like if you get
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: to the if somehow we got to the super Bowl,
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: I'd be I'd be like, we're gonna win this thing.
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and if we don't, We're I'm gonna be really disappointed.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: But I would be disappointed anyways, because season's over, you.
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: Know, forty eight hours later, I'm gonna be like, you
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: know what, that was a hell of a run. And wow,
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: We've got ourselves a team here, let's build on it.
- 1:17:10Speaker 5: So Christian Virginia writes in before the season started, I
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: would categorize the atmosphere around the team and supporters as
- 1:17:17Speaker 5: being hopeful for the future. We attended our first every
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: game in Tennessee earlier this year, and at that time
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: there was definitely an overwhelming sense of excitement amongst the fans.
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: This week, it feels like we are now in a
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: position of expectation of success.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: We feel guaranteed of.
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: A playoff space, and this reinforces that at what point
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: does expectation become pressure on the team and what will
- 1:17:39Speaker 5: this look like by the time we attend our second
- 1:17:41Speaker 5: every game in Baltimore December PS in the first year
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: we have ever been able.
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: To attend games.
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: I'm so grateful that the December match will be a
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: meaningful game of football. That's christin Virginia.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I'm not really it's going to sound
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: like flipping. I don't I'm not really concern with the
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: pressure that adds. Like when you win games, they become
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: more important, so there's an inherent pressure that comes. Like
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: what we're saying isn't really going to impact the team
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: and what you're feeling.
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: I don't know about that.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: Alex says, like games are fun again, right, So should
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: you not think that the games are fun because it
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: might put undue pressure on the players, Like you can't
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: act like that.
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: The way I feel is pressure from winning is a
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: lot better than pressure because you suck really bad and
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: you could lose your job.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: There was a lot more pressure around here last year.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, at this time than there is the least.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: Justin Brooklyn writes a nice Mac Collins interview. You saw
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: that at halftime. Please tell him that for Halloween next
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: year he should go. Is is it Haesus or Jesus
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: Quintana from Big Lebowski? I don't know, but he should
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: go as Hazus Quintana from The Big Lebowski played by
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: John Tuturo. And he has a picture and I'm like, yeah, okay,
- 1:18:53Speaker 5: I see it. Well, I see it right there.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: You don't have to make it worth his while because
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: I'm sure he's gonna get paid for whatever he's dressing
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: up as. Yeah, which, God bless him. I don't hold
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: that against him at all.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: I'm glad he didn't. Numbers were great on social media
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: on his little video.
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: George writes in he's in Maryland. I haven't heard any
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: Father fred references in a while. I know it would
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: be better than Boston Blue, and you know, and that
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: is all Gods.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: You watch any of Boston Blue, Freddy? Not once? Really,
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: it's on network do what did you watch?
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: Blue Blood?
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: Paul? Thank you? Thank you? Did you ever, how did
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: you know? I couldn't come up with the name of
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: the show. I've never watched blue Blood. I never watched
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: Blue Bloods either. It's just unbelievable that you were such
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: a snob.
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: It's not I just it's on.
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: Network TV, so it can't possibly be good.
- 1:19:48Speaker 4: I'm not going to like tune in at you know,
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: Tuesdays at ten.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: But you don't have to do that. You can do
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: it just the way you do to stream something. You
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: can watch it whenever you want to.
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: Be really good for me to do that too.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: These shows might be great.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: It's just so I'm not telling you that Blue Bloods.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: They might be.
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: I'm not like, I don't want to say, oh, the
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: show suck. They might be great, but they're just so
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: off my radar these days.
- 1:20:14Speaker 9: Aside from hearing like whatever broadcaster is calling the primetime game,
- 1:20:19Speaker 9: talk about it.
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: I would never think of.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: It, right, I just I like, I'm remembering up.
- 1:20:26Speaker 5: I'd have TV Guide and you're in the book TV
- 1:20:29Speaker 5: Guide and you're looking at what's on tonight.
- 1:20:31Speaker 9: Or even not the book, but the info on the
- 1:20:34Speaker 9: remote brings up.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: The whole guy, I don't watch like Law and Order,
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: like the repeats.
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: My wife has it on constant.
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I would rarely watch TV.
- 1:20:43Speaker 9: I don't rarely watch watch right, the new episode, you
- 1:20:47Speaker 9: do watch the rewatch.
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: It when I know it's the same way you stream
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: something on Netflix. You can watch I know, I know
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: how it works, Paramount or Peacock. You should know more
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: than everybody else. Yeah, he read all off all the
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: names of the networks every week.
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: I just don't.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: I just don't. I just I don't know. I think
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: you're missing out. I probably saying there's some good content.
- 1:21:10Speaker 5: I'm not saying that I like they aren't good shows.
- 1:21:13Speaker 5: I'm not saying that. I just it's just not on my.
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: There's a lot of stuff that streams, and I feel
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: like I don't even scratch the surface of being able
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: to see everything.
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: There's a lot of crap We're on a golden age
- 1:21:25Speaker 4: of Alex so much some really good stuff.
- 1:21:30Speaker 9: Aside from that show You and We were into your
- 1:21:32Speaker 9: friends and Neighbors.
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: I haven't really loved a show in a while.
- 1:21:36Speaker 8: Like.
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: Is it nobody wants this?
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: Yeah? I love I really like the first season. It
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: was cute.
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: Watching the second season.
- 1:21:43Speaker 9: I haven't gone into it because I heard that it's
- 1:21:46Speaker 9: it's just.
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: Not great, and I did. I enjoyed the first season.
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: It's a it's a show that I watch with my
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: wife so you guys can make fun of me rom com.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: It's cute, like it's fun.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: It is, and I like it because it's quick. They're
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: like half hour episode. You can watch it before.
- 1:22:02Speaker 9: And I talk about this all the time. It just
- 1:22:04Speaker 9: comes down to like poorly written.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: It's hard. And I think when they like they got
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: something that was kind of clever that probably was a
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: paint staking process to original originally get on the air,
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: and then it was good and then they're like, Okay,
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: we have to build on that, and they just throw
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: something out there because they know what worked and people
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: are gonna watch it.
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: It's not And that's the problem with movies and shows.
- 1:22:24Speaker 9: It's just no one's willing to take a gamble like
- 1:22:27Speaker 9: that movie Parasite that won all those awards a couple
- 1:22:29Speaker 9: years as phenomenal, but it took them like ten years
- 1:22:32Speaker 9: to make that movie because no one believed in it.
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:22:35Speaker 9: Everyone just wants to do like a tenth sequel, or
- 1:22:39Speaker 9: like a tenth version of a superhero movie, or you know,
- 1:22:42Speaker 9: it's just.
- 1:22:42Speaker 4: I got to see that one DiCaprio movie I've heard.
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: I was so excited to see that.
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: I heard a guy talk another what one battle after another.
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: I was so excited to see that. Looking at the
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: cast I heard it was terrible, so really funny.
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: It was great.
- 1:22:58Speaker 6: He doesn't win some kind of award, I will be done.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: Greg Hill had a guy on this morning, and I
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: can't belive the guy yeah him, yeah, and he was
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: really talking that movie up. And Greg Hill said the
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: same thing that Alex just said. He had heard from
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: people that it was really bad. And then this guy
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: was is its sligh slay is a hip hop art? Yeah,
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: I know when he was in the town and some
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: of those other movies Gone, Baby Gone, I think, but
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: he said that he really really enjoyed it. You know,
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: So now Greg Hill is I'm gonna have to walk.
- 1:23:29Speaker 6: Like shann Performance of the Century.
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: He's almost never be you like it.
- 1:23:38Speaker 6: It's unbelievable. I saw it twice along with Alex he
- 1:23:40Speaker 6: saw twice too.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and Sean Penn is not usually in bad movies, now,
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: I mean he usually he picks.
- 1:23:47Speaker 5: I'm gonna I gotta see this movie. I don't care
- 1:23:50Speaker 5: what anyone says, and I see it.
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: Interested to hear your review. Surprise, you haven't seen it yet,
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: No busy.
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: Guy time time. So I'm gonna go, uh the other way.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: And I made fun of you, and now I'll make
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: fun of myself. You guys were talking about Parasite and
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: not like I would intentionally not see those movies because
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: if it's up for an Academy Award, in general, I'm
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: not interested. And that's where I'm like, I said, you know,
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: Fred to I said to Fred, you're closing yourself off
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: to a lot of potentially good show, isn't it. You
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: know it's not. They're not all just like you know,
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: mindless half hour sitcoms. It's something like mad Man was
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: a really good show, but I didn't see it. No,
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: because you refuse to watch network TV. Huh, what But
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: like I do the same thing with generally movies that
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: the critics are, you know, critically acclaimed. It's like generally
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: not for me. So I'm sure I've missed out on
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: a handful of movies over the years. That's pretty good.
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: Father critically acclaimed. Yeah, that's a little different. You can't
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: say it's I think The Departed sucked. Honest with you,
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: I think it was as average as average can be.
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: But with I don't want to be a product of
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: my How how did you hate that?
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: It was just I think Jack Nicholson mailed it in.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: I just completely obvious the whole movie. Like, I didn't
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: really I didn't like it. Okay, those movies are my wheelhouse.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Like the Town. I'm here for the Town.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: And you thought The Town was better than The Departed?
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: Oh by light years.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: With Blake Lively's trash she was.
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: She wasn't good in her little cameo role there, but
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: there was a much better movie. Wow, just my opinion.
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: Wow, he didn't like that the pot.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: I loved the Town. I loved them both, but I
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: loved The Departed.
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: Oh well, Ryan and Quincy writes, and I know I'm
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: probably in the minority here. But I'm actually not upset
- 1:25:48Speaker 4: that we didn't make any moves at the deadline. Rabel
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: has this locker room believing in each other and getting
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: better every week. Bringing in new guys just to say
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: you did something could have broken chemistry and could easily
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: mess with the culture they've been building all year. I
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: don't think they do it just to say they did it.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: That's the part that we're sort of tiring. Yeah, we
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: all know this isn't a win now season.
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: So in the big picture, I think it was smart
- 1:26:12Speaker 5: to let this roster ride and save the splashes for
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: the offseason. Prediction for Sunday Patriots beat the Bucks twenty
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: seven to twenty four, and a move that would make
- 1:26:20Speaker 5: me happy signed a Sante Samuel Junior.
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: Okay, so do you think they have a chance to
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: win win it all the way? Yeah, of course there's
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: a chance. Do you think they have a chance to
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: be sort of you know, let's just say, get to
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: the AFC Championship. There's a chance. Okay, So like, why
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: would you not want to, Like why would you act
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: like this is not the year? Anyway?
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: And that's the thing they did try.
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: They made inquiries they would have done something, had anyone
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: wanted to do business with us, But they don't.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: And I'm not a like, win it all or it's
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: a failure. That's that's for Mike and Tony my shows.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: When I go on, I know they're all at while scoreboard.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: You got to win the title, Like, No, I get it.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: You can have a really good season. Washington had a
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: really good season last year. The Patriots are having a
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: really good season right now. You don't have to win
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: it all for it to qualify as a really good season.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: But just because you're not really expected to win doesn't
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: mean that you shouldn't look at it as same. Well,
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: you have an opportunity to win these games. You know,
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: let's try to put ourselves in the best position possible
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: to take advantage of these opportunities. Yea, why you know?
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: Why not?
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: Yeah, Austin wants to know he's in Illinois. Any chance
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: we can get a pp in the Dude special on
- 1:27:38Speaker 5: Monday to replace the Thursday show? No, I understand that
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: you and Evan have to travel for the game on Sunday. No,
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: you'll get them on the pregame show on Thursday night.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: What does he want us to do?
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: He wants an extra show on Monday because we're not
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: doing a PU on Thursday because we have the next week.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: I thought he meant like permanently.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: Too, and I was I think he means next week.
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: You know me, I'll do a show and yeah, I
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: love what. I love to appee. We're doing the pregame
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: show on Thursday. Uh yeah, so I.
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: Mean you'll have us, you'll have us Tuesday.
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll have to do you have to pick some
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: Wednesday next week? Yeah. Question what do you forfeit your title?
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: What do practice squad players do for road games? Do
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: they travel? Do they watch from home or the facility?
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: Some of them do travel occasionally. I don't know how
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: Mike Rabel determines that, but there have been instances where
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: they travel. I think, in general their home. I don't
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: think they come here.
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: Based on Instagram stories there they tend to be home
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: watching the game.
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: You think they watched together.
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: I think in some in some cases they do. Why not?
- 1:28:48Speaker 11: Right?
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: Sure you don't have like a girlfriend here, And.
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: I mean it's probably a generalization, but I'm guessing that
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: a lot of Practice Squad players are young, probably don't
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: have homes, probably live in apartments, and you know maybe
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: in some cases they live in the general same general area,
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: same complex. Even maybe Yeah, I could see them getting together.
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: We should do Uh, how many stories have we do?
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: I was gonna sae we should do a practice story.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: How about b with him when they're watching the game.
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: There you go?
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that story. That sounds like it sounds
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: like a story. Well, you guys are we're a little busy.
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: You guys are doing the show. It sounds like I'm
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: gonna get stuck with that.
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: We'll figure it out. Well, you gotta have video. It's
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: a video thing, you know, hiring freelancers. Yeah, Greg writes
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: in he's in SLC. What's that so SLC Salt Lake City?
- 1:29:56Speaker 23: There you go?
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: Can we please lose the breaking glass sound when Mike
- 1:30:01Speaker 5: comes back from the locker room. The song is amazing, obviously,
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: but the breaking glass is way too loud and honestly
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: scary when I'm driving somebody.
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: Else, scary when I'm sitting here yet.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: Email it makes me jump every time.
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: I'm gonna have a heart attack one day.
- 1:30:16Speaker 5: Not sure what it sounds like on your end, but
- 1:30:18Speaker 5: please consider dropping the breaking glass sound.
- 1:30:21Speaker 6: It's super loud on my end, and that's on purpose.
- 1:30:24Speaker 3: Turn it up today just despite it.
- 1:30:26Speaker 6: I mean, if you're a fan of the show, you
- 1:30:27Speaker 6: should know Pixes come in and do something.
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: But you never know when he's gonna walk in. It
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: gets me every time.
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: I know, that's the point we like watching it on video.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: I don't want to cause any access. We got Eldred
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: beeping in the middle of the freeway, and you know,
- 1:30:44Speaker 5: now we've got glass breaking. You know I'm gonna get
- 1:30:47Speaker 5: a visit by the state troopers.
- 1:30:50Speaker 9: I want to put like a GoPro and Eldridge truck
- 1:30:52Speaker 9: and like a dash cam rather than just when he's honking,
- 1:30:56Speaker 9: see how traffic reacts.
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: Like be funny.
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: Let's get to the phones because any moment now we'll
- 1:31:04Speaker 5: probably have breaking glass.
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: So get your get ready. Let's see. We got Jose
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: in Texas. What's up, Jose? Hey Fred?
- 1:31:16Speaker 12: This Monday, I saw the Arizona team playing there in Dallas,
- 1:31:19Speaker 12: and the only thing I could think was, I wonder
- 1:31:21Speaker 12: if Fred has been taking his rackets to the team
- 1:31:23Speaker 12: on the team playing this year.
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:31:25Speaker 5: When I went to Arizona, I brought my rackets. I
- 1:31:28Speaker 5: played with somebody out there speaking to Dallas. You know,
- 1:31:34Speaker 5: I was kind of holding it for when we did
- 1:31:36Speaker 5: their picks. But just a really sad story out of Dallas. Awful, Sorry, Jose, Yeah,
- 1:31:47Speaker 5: I guess I guess it was suicide.
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: According to the police.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: Police.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: Yeah, self inflicted four years old.
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: Go to touchdown Monday night.
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: Just go to show you never know, you just don't know.
- 1:32:01Speaker 5: And you know, you know, having been through that myself before,
- 1:32:05Speaker 5: you look back and say I should have known, like
- 1:32:08Speaker 5: I should have seen, you know, looking back.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: But it's hard, you know, so you feel for that
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: locker room this week?
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: Uh, Donovan's in Missouri. Hate Donovan.
- 1:32:21Speaker 13: How's it going?
- 1:32:21Speaker 24: So kind of a comment like you're talking about we're
- 1:32:25Speaker 24: not expected to win this year when Brady came in
- 1:32:28Speaker 24: after Bloodoo got hurt. We weren't expected to when we
- 1:32:31Speaker 24: still did.
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: That's right, correct, that's right. So keep the faith.
- 1:32:36Speaker 24: And also if Williams doesn't do anything this year, I'm
- 1:32:39Speaker 24: not upset we didn't do anything in at the deadline.
- 1:32:43Speaker 24: Do we do we get a receiver coming out or
- 1:32:46Speaker 24: you think we're just gonna go for Tree.
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: You mean in the off season or picking up.
- 1:32:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: I think, you know, they'll figure it out, like whatever opportunities.
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: We have a lot of areas that are going to
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: need to be addressed in the off season.
- 1:33:00Speaker 5: I think, other than quarterback, which is a good thing,
- 1:33:04Speaker 5: everything's on the table.
- 1:33:05Speaker 11: You know.
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: I think I mentioned this to you yesterday, Fred or
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: maybe Tuesday, Like just look at the offense and some
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: of the key players on offense, I would, you know,
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: and there's a lot of them. But you know, Mogan
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: Moses at right tackle was thirty four years old. Hunter
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: Henry and Austin Hooper were in their thirties. You know,
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: Stefan Diggs is the number one receiver. He's I think
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: he's thirty three. They're going to need to replace those guys, yep. Soon,
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: you know, like the next time that you're, you know,
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: universally considered a Super Bowl contender, you're probably not going
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: to have those guys on the team and you're going
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: to need to replace some of them, you know, in
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: addition to the holes that you know everybody's looking for,
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: you know, edge rushers, number one wide receiver, maybe some
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: depth in the in the secondary. You know, Carlton Davis
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: is a little bit older one of the guys, Carlton
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: Davison and Harold Landry have been around a little bit.
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: So yeah, this is this is like step one. There's
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: a long way to go, Matt and Madison, Wisconsin. It's
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: refreshing to have a quarterback that I look forward to
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: watching every Sunday. However, I can't shake this feeling that
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: this isn't actually him. This is probably because after Matt's
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: first year, we thought we had our guy, and I'm
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: just waiting for Drake to regress. I'm obviously hoping I'm wrong,
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: and I keep seeing Drake pro progress. Do you all
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: feel the same way at all? Now?
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: I think Dre's talents are insulate him from what happened
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: to What did I say, I'm now combining Drake's talents
- 1:34:44Speaker 5: insulate him from what happened to Mac.
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: Mac didn't have the talents of Drake. I would just
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: argue that Mac didn't have the the success rookie his
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: rookie year that may even had last year.
- 1:34:55Speaker 5: Yeah, in my view, yeah, we've documented did it pretty
- 1:35:02Speaker 5: thoroughly on this show that the second half of Mac
- 1:35:06Speaker 5: Jones's rookie year was not that great and it showed,
- 1:35:10Speaker 5: you know, especially when they played the Bills the second
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: time and in the playoffs. The first half of the season,
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: they micro managed him. He didn't throw the ball to
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: the end zone for like the first half dozen games.
- 1:35:21Speaker 5: It was very, very conservative. And then in the second
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: half when he had to do more, it just you
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: could see that he just didn't have it.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:35:29Speaker 4: And then of course, you know.
- 1:35:31Speaker 5: You had the crazy second year.
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: What are we doing myself?
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: I was waiting for Mike to open the door so
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: I didn't jump out of my seat. Oh okay.
- 1:35:42Speaker 9: Even that Bills game with Mac that we were talking
- 1:35:44Speaker 9: about and kind of comparing it to this year. How
- 1:35:45Speaker 9: many times did Mac throw the ball in the game?
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: That was the that was the winning game? Right?
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:35:54Speaker 4: No?
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: Glass? Wow, Okay, here's the people what they want issue?
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: Safety issue. I heard about.
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: Someone called in I'm in my car, and.
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: Well I told them not to play because I don't
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: really have a report today because we got him wicked
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: late and I had to get back.
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: No wait, wait, wait, we got to play this song.
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: All right, let's just do what. I don't remember telling
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: you to do anything.
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: Reports.
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: What do you answer to that?
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: Well, it was pretty quick because we got him late.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: I don't know Josh Joshunley, so I went quick like
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: we had Julia down there. She's going to be holding
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: the mic for me today, so one of our one
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: of our fellows. So lucky we had some help. But
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: good atmosphere, I would say. The only thing of note
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: to report from my brief day in the locker room
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: was all of the rivalry helmets were lined up, and
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: I think they're gonna wear them this week just to
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: get used to it before next Thursday's game. Is that
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: when they're wearing them next Thursday? I guess so yeah, yeah.
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: But good contingent, good energy. But otherwise it was it
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: was a quick one today and.
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: Not much report.
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: What was Evan doing.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: He was just kind of sitting in the middle talking
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: with his fellow friends colleagues. Barthy was yelling at barthe season.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: I did have time to check, though, Paul, you were correct.
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: First overtime win Patriots I think in nineteen eighty eight
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: and seven over the Bucks, So yeah, I should I
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: should have done that one for the question, but I
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: know I had to get back for picks. So here
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: I am.
- 1:37:31Speaker 4: Okay, Paul, what happened last week?
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: Iand the music?
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: I thought we had the band in all music.
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: You have such a baby. You really are a baby.
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: We're just not playing music anymore.
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: Alex back at the top ten and four. Let's see
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: Mike and Evan nine and five, Paul and Fred eight
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: and six with a spread. Alex all also takes the week,
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: only one above five hundred at eight and six, Evan
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: and Fred six and eight, first losing record. I can
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: remember for you, Fred, Paul and Mike five and nine.
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: Not good good so. Overall season standings Alex ninety two,
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: forty two and one, Fred eighty eight, forty six and one,
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: Mike eighty six, forty eight and one, Paul eighty one,
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: fifty three and one, and Evan seventy eight, fifty six
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: and one, with the spread, Fred dominating seventy six and
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: fifty nine, the only one above five hundred. Alex and
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: Paul tied for second at sixty seven and sixty eight.
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: Right tied for second. Oh yeah, I don't care about
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: you after being in the basement Evan the Basement sixty
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: two and seventy three and poop Emojio Mike fifty nine
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: and seventy six three. Okay, so Bred is seventy six
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: and fifty nine. Mike is fifty nine and seventy six.
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: That's pretty bad. But you know that's why gambling is
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: hard doing it with the spread, you know, it's designed
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: to make you sh bad, not a sharp all right.
- 1:39:18Speaker 5: So we start with tonight, Thursday Night on Amazon Prime.
- 1:39:23Speaker 5: It's the two and six Raiders at the seven and
- 1:39:26Speaker 5: two Denver, Oh Raiders.
- 1:39:29Speaker 13: Big.
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: I'd say that big shock Broncos at home that I'll
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: save you the trouble.
- 1:39:33Speaker 11: Uh.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: The Denver by nine and a half would be that
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: way for the rest of the season.
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: That's a really big number. Just doing a little research
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: on this one. Of course, Jo Kobe Myers no longer
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: there for our friend Gino Smith, but he has had
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: some interceptions. You know, I'm gonna take Denver to win,
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: but I think we brock Bauers back Division game Thursday night.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the do you say nine and a half?
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: Nine and a half?
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: I'll take the nine and a half for Vegas.
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: I feel the same way as a little too big
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: of a spread for me.
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it is a big spread, especially for Thursday night. However,
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna lay the points. I think, Uh, I think
- 1:40:11Speaker 2: the Broncos are due to play a complete game. They've
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: kind of been a little bit choppy lately. Yeah, I
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: had to come back against the Giants a few weeks ago.
- 1:40:21Speaker 11: I mean.
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: Close games, and they always tend to squeeze it out.
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: Yeah, bo Nicks plays well when he has to, but
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: he hasn't really played well for the full four quarters.
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: I think he's a little bit closer to Their team defense.
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: Is very good.
- 1:40:34Speaker 4: I like the games where the team I'm picking isn't
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: the team I want to win, because then I win.
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: Either win win.
- 1:40:42Speaker 4: But I'm going to be going with the Broncos to cover,
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: but rooting hard for the Raiders because we're in a
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: race with Denver.
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: They're one of the teams that we need to they
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: are absolutely so let's go Raiders. The next game qualifies
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: the same way.
- 1:40:59Speaker 5: Yeah, this is a game in Berlin, Berlin, so it's
- 1:41:05Speaker 5: on the NFL network.
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: It's at nine to thirty Eastern.
- 1:41:08Speaker 4: It's the three and five Falcons at the seven and
- 1:41:13Speaker 4: two Colts. And I say, at the it's in Berlin,
- 1:41:16Speaker 4: but the Colts are the home team.
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: Colts by six and a half.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: Six and a half. Huh, I'm gonna do what I
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: just did last time. I'm gonna take the Colts to win,
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: but I'm going to take the six and a half
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: for Atlanta. I think.
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: I just think Indian's gonna have a little bit of
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: a stumble here still win.
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: But yeah, okay, Colts Colts.
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: I'm overthinking it now.
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I am gonna take Colts Colts too, but I'm
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: not gonna lie.
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: I feel like this is a coin flip.
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: Well, there's part of me spread that if Daniel Jones
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: plays the way he did, you know the mass you
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: know most of the games, then I don't think this
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: is a coin flip. But there is part of me
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: that saw Daniel Jones and the Colts turn it over
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: six times last week and wonder if that's the Sam
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: Darnold moment for Daniel Jones, and he says, oh, yeah,
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: I forgot. I'm Daniel Jones and these games starting to count.
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: So I'm going to take the Colts, but reluctantly.
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: I was actually tempted to pick the Falcons outright, and
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: I'll hedge it. I'll take the points, and I feel
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: fairly confident about that. Let's go to Sunday at one
- 1:42:27Speaker 4: the one in eight Saints at the five and four Panthers.
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: This game is on.
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: Fox Carolina by five and a half. We could be
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: in a world where the Panthers would be six and four.
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: I mean, they're a good team, Paul, they were.
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: A good team. Mike's been telling me they're a good team.
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: It's like the emergence of Rico Doubtle, like you know
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: this guys all of a sudden become a stud. But
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Carolina and I'm gonna ley the points.
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: Team.
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: Definitely taken Carolina to win. I will take them both ways,
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: just to well five and a half, just to take
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: scores like thirteen points every game like the Panthers. But
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: so I'm going to take the home team and I'm
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: gonna lay the point.
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: We've seen them both.
- 1:43:17Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the move, true, take the take the Panthers
- 1:43:20Speaker 5: both ways. One o'clock on Sunday, the two and seven
- 1:43:25Speaker 5: Giants are at the five and three Bears.
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: This game is on Fox Chicago by four and a half.
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: Hmm, yeah, I think I'm gonna go with Caleb Williams
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: at home. There a little Jekyl and High with some
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: of these performances, but I think they're the longer they play,
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: the better they're going to get with Ben Johnson. So
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Chicago. Lay the points.
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Chicago. Something about the Giants makes you
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: want to allow them.
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: To cover Giants with points. Yeah, I thought about it.
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: I think the Giants have played pretty well with Jackson Dart.
- 1:44:01Speaker 4: They have, but the scatter the loss is deflating.
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but they were without him. How they do Last week?
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: They lost by ten. I think I think they lost
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: thirty four to twenty four at Philly. I'm going to
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: take Chicago both ways. I think Caleb Williams is starting
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: to put some better games together. He wasn't really good
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: in Baltimore a couple of weeks ago. He was very
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: good against the terrible Bengals. We'll see what he can
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: do against the Giants.
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: I am going to take the Giants to cover this game,
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: and it might be the last week I do that
- 1:44:34Speaker 4: if they let me down.
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: But I always think the Giants aren't that bad. I
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: don't think they're that bad. I know that whether they
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: two and I don't think I think they're I agree.
- 1:44:44Speaker 4: Ye, all right, Sunday at one, it's the five and
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: three Jaguars at the three and five Texans on CBS.
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: So Jacksonville is favored by one and a half no CJ. Stroud,
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: which probably explains the spread before you wonder if it
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: smells or sniffing, you know, you know they probably got
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: it right.
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: Yeah, Houston Houston another really good defense. Tough to pick
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: without Stroud, though I thought Jacksonville put up some fight
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: last week pulling it out. I'll take Jacksonville gaggs a
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: small spread.
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't have any faith in Jacksonville, but without CJ. Stroud,
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: I can't take the Texans, so I will take Jacksonville
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: on the road. I don't like it.
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: I'm taking Jacksonville. It's an easy one for me. Sunday
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: at one on CBS, the six and two Bills at
- 1:45:41Speaker 4: the two and seven Dolphins, Buffalo.
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: By nine and a half.
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: There needs to be like, remember we had the study
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: of like teams getting a bump after they fire their coach.
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: I wonder if there could be a study about like
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: teams that kind of offload star players of the trade deadline.
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: How those teams do I called it next week dumping
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: the coach adjacent and so I said to you this morning.
- 1:46:00Speaker 4: I wonder does Miami have the same problem. I mean,
- 1:46:02Speaker 4: does Buffalo have the same problems in Miami that the
- 1:46:04Speaker 4: Patriots do?
- 1:46:06Speaker 8: Not?
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: Really, I don't think No. I think they've they've pretty
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: much owned Miami.
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: Right, Okay, I don't know.
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I'm gonna take Buffalo and I'm gonna man.
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: I just it's at that Miami location, and it's a
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: New England thing that scares me. I'm gonna lay the
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: points though. I think Buffalo blows nine and a half.
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: Buffalo wins. Something's itching at me.
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know why.
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: I don't know why.
- 1:46:33Speaker 9: I'm going to go again, your gut, I know, but
- 1:46:35Speaker 9: I feel like my brain is like, are you stupid?
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: If I go with my gut, to.
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: Go with the logic Buffalo both ways, I'm gonna go
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: with the logic.
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to take Buffalo both ways too. Just
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: don't have any faith in Miami.
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: So whenever I have no faith in Miami.
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: Yeah they beat Atlanta, Yeah.
- 1:47:01Speaker 4: I do. Miami wins out right.
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: Wow, I feel worse about it.
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: Miami wins outright. Let's go Miami, go you fish.
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: I say this every years that I say this every year.
- 1:47:16Speaker 2: It's amazing that he still beats us in the contra
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: when he literally gives us games like that one. It's
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: a feeling. You watch, I did not giving anybody any no, no, no,
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: you have five games every week that you pick out
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: of spite.
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: But that was my intuition too, is right there with him.
- 1:47:32Speaker 3: That's Miami cover. I wasn't going to go as I.
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: Think the stars are aligned. I think you know, yep,
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: I think, so where's where's the gravity?
- 1:47:44Speaker 3: The astrology thing?
- 1:47:45Speaker 4: Gravity is pulling down that window, fact based pulling down
- 1:47:53Speaker 4: all right, Another game that we need to be concerned
- 1:47:57Speaker 4: with as Patriots fans. Sunday at one, Baltimore three and
- 1:48:01Speaker 4: five at Minnesota four and four on Fox.
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: Baltimore by four and a half. Oh, it's such disrespect.
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I like this game Minnesota. You know JJ McCarthy
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: coming back last week. Shoot, I'm gonna take Baltimore to win,
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: but I'm gonna take the points for Minnesota. I think
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: it's a close onewet.
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: Uh yeah, not me. I'm gonna take Baltimore both ways.
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: I think their defense is starting to get it together.
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: Kyle Hamilton back in his rightful spot after that trade
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: with San Diego for that safety. It's not San Diego anymore,
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: I know, but I chat Gilman. I think has allowed
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: Kyle Hamilton. I was reading some stuff about this on
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: the intranets, allowed him to get closer to the line
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: of scrimmage at times, playing more in his comfortable role.
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: And the defense has been much better since that's happened.
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: So okay, I think they're starting to put it together
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 1:49:02Speaker 5: Uh, Miami covers, so Baltimore wins and they're not playing
- 1:49:07Speaker 5: I mean, Minnesota covers.
- 1:49:09Speaker 4: I have Miami on my mind. Minnesota covers, Baltimore wins.
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: Again, so now you know my I'm losing. And this
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: is he doesn't even know who's playing in the games,
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: and I'm like, well behind. Uh.
- 1:49:22Speaker 4: Sunday at one Cleveland two and six at the Jets
- 1:49:26Speaker 4: one and seven on CBS.
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: I can't believe I care about this game all game
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: of the week. Cleveland by two and a half. This
- 1:49:34Speaker 2: is where we're wondering if you get the fired head
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: coach adjacent to bump right for the Jets right right?
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: Shoot. I'm sorry, Paul, I'm gonna go with Cleveland. I
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: just I gotta believe the Jets.
- 1:49:46Speaker 2: Are not going to have I'm going with Cleveland too,
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: Bro Cleveland, doub Brown's. Yeah, I think we're all going
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: with Cleveland. Yeah. I'm a little worried about it, but
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: I'm gonna. I'm gonna.
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: He was on the Jets briefly this morning.
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and then the Quincy Williams is the thing that
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: put me over with the top. They told him, you're
- 1:50:04Speaker 2: not playing well off, You're out of the starting lineup.
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: It's like, obviously they couldn't trade him. They tried. I'm
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: going to take the Browns, but I don't know. I
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: don't like it.
- 1:50:12Speaker 5: Okay, Now we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock
- 1:50:16Speaker 5: and we go to four oh five, the three and
- 1:50:19Speaker 5: five Cardinals at the six and two Seahawks.
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: There's a chance to be an interesting game. Seattle is
- 1:50:25Speaker 2: playing quietly as well as anybody save or by six
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: and a half.
- 1:50:30Speaker 4: There's no Kyler Murray right now.
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: He's on eyebea kobyt time.
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: I love what the Seattle Seattle's too, and I love
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: their throwback uniforms. Yes, he'd now helped complement JSN, who
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: is just playing out of his mind. I'm gonna take
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: Seattle only the points same.
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: I am going to take Seattle, but I'm going to
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: take the points.
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:50:55Speaker 2: I mean, Arizona's played better as of late with Brissette,
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: they were often looks better. I think five more points
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: per game. I'm going with Seattle.
- 1:51:04Speaker 5: I'm not going to judge anything that the Cardinals are
- 1:51:06Speaker 5: doing off playing the Cowboys.
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: I was basing more on the Green Bay game two
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: weeks ago.
- 1:51:11Speaker 4: Uh, Sunday at four to twenty five on Fox, the
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: Rams at six and two playing the six and three
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: forty nine ers.
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: So do you remember when San Francisco beat the Rams
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: on a Thursday night a few weeks ago, and uh,
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: Kyle Shanahan lost his ever lover mind about the point spread. Yeah,
- 1:51:29Speaker 2: I think he's going to be every bit that's motivated
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: because the Rams are favored by four and a half
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: at San Francisco. I don't think he's gonna like that.
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: It's disrespectful. Mac Jones. Yeah, what's this minus four and
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: a half?
- 1:51:41Speaker 2: I mean plus four and a half San Francisco plus
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: four and a half.
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah at home, Mac Jones, I just I can't
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: believe I'm gonna do it. I mean, stole This is
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: a great game. And it's a divisional game. I'm going
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: to take San Francisco to win and the points.
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: Other than Mac Jones, how is the forty nine Ers.
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: Hell banged up? Banged up? That's why they're four and
- 1:52:05Speaker 2: a half point underdogs.
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: ROMs.
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Rams too, mostly because they
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: they slipped up and lost that game on that Thursday night.
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: But this is one of those NFC West games, Mike.
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: The Niners own the Rams, but I'm gonna try to
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: buck that tramp.
- 1:52:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Rams, but I'm taking
- 1:52:26Speaker 4: the points, taking the points.
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be a close game. You're probably right.
- 1:52:32Speaker 4: Four to twenty five on Fox, the five and three
- 1:52:35Speaker 4: Lions at the three and six Commanders.
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: Detroit by seven and a half.
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: Sure, that's a good number. Uh yeah, I'm not gonna
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: overthink this one. I'm gonna take Detroit against Mario.
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: Taking the hook.
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: No, not even laying the points.
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: Okay, Lions, Lions, Yeah, Lions, Lions for me as well?
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: Ah yeah me too, Lions both ways.
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: Now we move to the nighttime game on Sunday eight
- 1:53:03Speaker 4: twenty on Sure Universe, the five and three Steelers at
- 1:53:10Speaker 4: the six and three Chargers.
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: The lack by three, oh with no offensive line?
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: Ye against t J. Watt and uh the other guy that.
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: I think it's on Pittsburgh.
- 1:53:23Speaker 5: I'm a little bent out of shape at that line.
- 1:53:25Speaker 5: Why I think I'm much better because of the because
- 1:53:28Speaker 5: of injuries.
- 1:53:29Speaker 2: But what's the records?
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: It's both the same, And where's the five and three?
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: It's in the it's in l A.
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: What do you? What have you taught me?
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: I know?
- 1:53:38Speaker 5: But if I'm Pittsburgh, if I'm Pittsburgh, I'm like, I'm
- 1:53:43Speaker 5: better than they should be giving.
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: Pittsburgh is not better than the Chargers, not personnel wise.
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: No, that's and that's why I'm.
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: Not telling you they can't win the game. But they're not.
- 1:53:51Speaker 4: They don't have any tackles.
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: Pittsburgh doesn't have any players. They stink well.
- 1:53:55Speaker 4: They managed to win five games TJ.
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: Watt, which could be a problem. But I'm gonna go
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: with the team with the better quarterback who is at home.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Chargers.
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: I'm gonna say it takes a minimum of five turnovers
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: to Pittsburgh to win.
- 1:54:08Speaker 3: Go.
- 1:54:10Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't love the Chargers without Joe All but
- 1:54:13Speaker 9: I'm still I'm gonna take them and the points they
- 1:54:16Speaker 9: got to prove me wrong.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: It's a good game.
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: So here's what worries me for Freddy's thing. First of all,
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: every time he does this, he ends up winning and
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: sticking it up my backside. The second part of what
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: I'm picking, the second part of it is, you know
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: that stadium is going to be all Steelers fans with
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: their stupid towels, and it's going to be a home
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: game for Pittsburgh. I don't care. I'm taking the Chargers.
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: They're better even without even without the lineman, they're better.
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I listen. I think Hardball is a good coach.
- 1:54:45Speaker 5: There's something wrong with the Chargers.
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I mean, the strength and conditioning coach.
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: They've watched like seven offensive linemen. Ah, this is.
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: This is so hard. I'm gonna go with Pittsburgh.
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: Yeah game.
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: I mean, they just traded for terror Penning, who got
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: moved inside. Like I wonder if they're gonna like just
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: have to try to move back and playing tackle. I
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: don't know about Becton.
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: I just know because I heard them say that they
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: have a tackle who they moved to guard. Who's moving
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: back to tackle, and I thought maybe they were talking
- 1:55:15Speaker 2: about Beckton.
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: And Penny too.
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: I don't know who knows. I mean, they're desperate, they
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: are very desperate, and Pittsburgh absolutely could win the game.
- 1:55:22Speaker 4: Monday Night, eight fifteen on ESPN, ESPN Plus he and
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: pissed the Portes the six and two Eagles at the
- 1:55:30Speaker 4: five to two and one Green Bay Packer.
- 1:55:32Speaker 2: It's a good, good Monday night game, a rare good
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: Monday night matchup. Pack go Pack by two and a half.
- 1:55:39Speaker 2: That Lombo.
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: That's the playoff game last year.
- 1:55:42Speaker 4: I find this is an interesting spread.
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: It is a little interesting. And I mean, I just
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: I I just Jordan Love. I continue to remember what
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: it makes.
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: Fun of me, but he does it for every single game.
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: Jordan Love just drives me nuts. I just I think
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: he's so sporadic. Sometimes he can look great, other times
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: he doesn't look like he has a clue. I'm going
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: to go with Philly on the road.
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: What are the sharp snow?
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: Something going on here? Something's going on here. I just
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: ask what the fishiness would be. I think the Eagles
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: should be favored by like four points on the road
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: for two teams that are the same They're not the same.
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: What's what's different about them?
- 1:56:24Speaker 4: Eagles are much better based on what their team and
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: their talent.
- 1:56:28Speaker 2: Okay, that's in my opinion.
- 1:56:33Speaker 3: The cheese stinks. No, I'm going to take Green Bay.
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: I don't know what the sharps know, but.
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: Something I just hate Green Bay. So I'm going with
- 1:56:41Speaker 2: my heart and I'm taking the Eagles.
- 1:56:43Speaker 5: I'm taking the Eagles too, because I think they're better.
- 1:56:47Speaker 5: All right, Now we move back to one o'clock.
- 1:56:50Speaker 4: It's the seven and two New England Patriots at the
- 1:56:54Speaker 4: six and two Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tapa by two and
- 1:56:58Speaker 4: a half CBS. Do we have a Jim Nansen this?
- 1:57:01Speaker 4: We do?
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: We do? We got the eight team?
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: I don't know, Fred, I don't know this game. I
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: just I think it's kind of a coin flip. And
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: to be honest, I kind of lean like Tampa's going
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: to be able to pull it out. I think their
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: defense is going to do enough to really give Drake
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: some problems. But I'm gonna put my Homer hat on
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: and I'll stick with what I did on Monday at
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: one point win.
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: For the Patriot that you just covered all your bases,
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: did you learned that from watching me learn to say.
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: Patriots twenty eight twenty seven touchdown at the end to
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: win it.
- 1:57:34Speaker 9: Patriot's twenty four Tampa twenty three homer hat is on
- 1:57:38Speaker 9: and bit and tight.
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: So I'm a big believer in the spot kind of stuff.
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: I don't like some of the stuff I've heard out
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: of the Patriots this week, kind of alluding to being
- 1:57:52Speaker 2: a little bit in the grind and one down a
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: little bit. I don't think you can win every game.
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: I don't think they're good enough to to do with
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: like the O seven Patriots, and just like win ten
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: in a row, twelve in a row, you gotta lose
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: some time. I don't think Tampa is a great team.
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: I think this is a tough spot for the Patriots
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: with the bucks coming off they buy twenty four to
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: twenty Tampa. Okay, I think the Patriots have every opportunity
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: to win. So I don't throw this back in my face.
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: If the Patriots win in you know, you know, don't
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: pull a Felger on me. Yeah, that's all I ask.
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: But listen, it.
- 1:58:26Speaker 3: Sounds like some It is a cias.
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: No doubt about it, and the Patriots aren't gonna win
- 1:58:30Speaker 4: every game, but they are going to win this one.
- 1:58:33Speaker 4: Oh wow, twenty nine twenty four Buccaneers.
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: Oh maybe it's surprised by a pick, as I've been
- 1:58:42Speaker 2: in the Fred kersher Era ra.
- 1:58:45Speaker 4: That doesn't mean that they're not going to blow away
- 1:58:47Speaker 4: the Jets on Thursday. But I in this last stretch,
- 1:58:51Speaker 4: they have eight games left. Yep, they're not gonna win
- 1:58:55Speaker 4: them all.
- 1:58:55Speaker 5: So you got to you gotta find the one or
- 1:58:58Speaker 5: two games that they might lose.
- 1:59:01Speaker 2: One or two.
- 1:59:02Speaker 4: I agree, and this this is probably one of them.
- 1:59:05Speaker 2: Yeah, like Paul said, it's the spot, it's it's it's
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: it's a good spot for Tampa. Yeah, they're coming off
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: of bye. I know Bulls hasn't been great coming off
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: to buy. I think he's like one in five, Yeah,
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: something like that. Two and five I think are coming
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: off the buy. But yep, this is gonna be This
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: is gonna be a tough one.
- 1:59:23Speaker 4: I hate it, but again it's the feel for.
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: The league, and I absolutely think the Patriots. I don't
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: think Tampa is really There's some games that you play
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: I think the other team just has a lot more
- 1:59:34Speaker 2: talent than you, and this isn't one of them. Yeah,
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: certainly not with the guys they're missing, that's true. So
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: I think the Patriots can win this game. Can Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: I think Mayfield. I have respect that.
- 1:59:47Speaker 5: I hope I'm wrong, of course, because I think the
- 1:59:49Speaker 5: Patriots can win it. But I just I have this
- 1:59:52Speaker 5: feeling that this is this is the game that they're
- 1:59:54Speaker 5: gonna you know.
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and I feel and if you start to look
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: at things like, if you have to lose a game,
- 2:00:02Speaker 2: not bad to lose it, not a conference one exactly.
- 2:00:07Speaker 2: You know, in terms of tiebreakers, that's better. Fred and
- 2:00:10Speaker 2: I sort of talked about it. If you knew you
- 2:00:11Speaker 2: were going to go one on one in these next
- 2:00:13Speaker 2: two games, what would you rather do. I would rather
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: lose it. I would rather beat Tampa and loose to
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: the Jets than the other way around, even though it
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: doesn't help your tie breakers and whatnot, because I think
- 2:00:24Speaker 2: mentally it tells everybody on your team in a country
- 2:00:28Speaker 2: they can go on the road and beat good teams.
- 2:00:29Speaker 2: It wasn't a fluke that they be buffed.
