- 0:48Speaker 3: Come on, yo, I forget I'll do that. I mean
- 0:58Speaker 3: I wouldn't even expecting the ends against Roll. Let's go. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:03Speaker 3: we have.
- 1:03Speaker 4: To uh again.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Today's December first. That's that missed the Yeah? Ok, what happened?
- 1:11Speaker 3: We were chat? We were chit chat. What did you do?
- 1:14Speaker 4: I just made you sound like an elf?
- 1:16Speaker 3: Nice? I can't wait to hear. Sorry.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Welcome in O t B, Jake, Flynn, Elandra Cassie here
- 1:29Speaker 5: with you on this Monday morning. Tiffin watches over Kiff
- 1:35Speaker 5: and watch, buddy. We're starting with the two and nine
- 1:37Speaker 5: Saints lead this show you talking about You see him
- 1:41Speaker 5: man got outside kick?
- 1:43Speaker 3: Yeah, they did well, and then a lot they dropped
- 1:46Speaker 3: at the end zone.
- 1:49Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, we're not starting with the New Orleans Saints.
- 1:52Speaker 5: We'll get there eventually, we won't. Matthew's right the lane.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Kiffin watches over. He is now your Tiger's head coach.
- 2:02Speaker 5: And after weeks of speculation and when is it going
- 2:05Speaker 5: to happen?
- 2:06Speaker 3: Is it going to happen? It is done and.
- 2:12Speaker 5: You care, you know, turning a page from this season, uh,
- 2:17Speaker 5: looking ahead to the next season obviously, like already, like
- 2:21Speaker 5: got to hit the ground running. You got a signing
- 2:24Speaker 5: day coming up on Wednesday, and we'll get to we'll
- 2:27Speaker 5: get to all of that. But it is officially official
- 2:32Speaker 5: and the guy that I think every LSU fan wanted.
- 2:38Speaker 6: Is now your head coach. This is a day of
- 2:42Speaker 6: celebration for LSU Tigers. Lane Kiffin has made his decision.
- 2:47Speaker 6: I don't know, I felt like it's probably made a
- 2:49Speaker 6: little while ago.
- 2:51Speaker 5: It was a lot of I mean it was, but
- 2:54Speaker 5: as we've seen in these coaching searches, it's not official.
- 2:58Speaker 3: No, it's until it's either the coach or the.
- 3:03Speaker 6: University, one of the two universities makes an announcement.
- 3:06Speaker 5: And sometimes when the university even puts it out there,
- 3:08Speaker 5: they got to quickly delete the tweet.
- 3:09Speaker 3: You know.
- 3:11Speaker 6: Well, in a coaching decision that was full of turbulence,
- 3:14Speaker 6: full of uh, excitement, anger, nervousness, ULSU gets their number
- 3:20Speaker 6: one guy and that has been pretty clear. Been a
- 3:24Speaker 6: lot of questioning on on this side of the table
- 3:27Speaker 6: of is he really?
- 3:29Speaker 3: Is he not? Is it?
- 3:31Speaker 6: Like?
- 3:31Speaker 3: Why this? Why that?
- 3:32Speaker 6: A lot of questioning is just trying to figure out
- 3:35Speaker 6: trying to get in the mindset of other people, which
- 3:37Speaker 6: is impossible to do right. But no, there can't be
- 3:42Speaker 6: any argument that he was the number one target for
- 3:46Speaker 6: probably many schools, certainly two schools that.
- 3:49Speaker 3: We know of.
- 3:50Speaker 6: But Lsu is uh the prettiest girl at the dance.
- 3:54Speaker 6: There's no doubt about that when it comes to recruiting
- 3:57Speaker 6: high school kids, when it comes to history, when it
- 4:00Speaker 6: comes to what could possibly be.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Well, it is such a pretty girl at the dance. Lsu?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Is that you are?
- 4:09Speaker 6: You know, you're okay with kind of giving up the
- 4:11Speaker 6: opportunity to chase a national championship with the current team,
- 4:15Speaker 6: And whether you like that or love that or whatever
- 4:18Speaker 6: it is, you can't argue that ls you got a
- 4:20Speaker 6: good one. So we should all be excited, no matter
- 4:22Speaker 6: the circumstance. We should still be excited that he is
- 4:24Speaker 6: here in Baton Rouge and starting out on a good foot.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Of of course, all the you know, it's like.
- 4:30Speaker 6: A like a like a politician like the President visiting
- 4:33Speaker 6: Baton Rouge yesterday with the motorcade and the cobble in
- 4:36Speaker 6: the bushes. Again, you think he's got a tent by
- 4:41Speaker 6: this point, got a Ghillie suit. Where is he?
- 4:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 4:44Speaker 5: For sure, Like I wonder where he's sitting at, you know, kyble,
- 4:47Speaker 5: Like he really doesn't care very often, like he might
- 4:49Speaker 5: just be right there on the sidewalk and say, you know.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I'm right here waving until it's me. Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 5: I mean, he got video of everybody in the building
- 4:57Speaker 5: last night, and it's the scenes from both air.
- 5:03Speaker 6: The scenes from both there a little bit different different,
- 5:05Speaker 6: Probably a good forty five minute flight on that private jet. Yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 6: what a difference a takeoff and a touchdown can be.
- 5:14Speaker 6: So then you got Marty Smith with an interview by
- 5:18Speaker 6: the bushes and the barbed wire in the background. I mean,
- 5:21Speaker 6: this is it was a wild scene. You talk about
- 5:23Speaker 6: a rush decision, a rushed exit, a rush entrance.
- 5:27Speaker 4: My goodness, Marty and the bushes and being locked in
- 5:30Speaker 4: Oxford department was gold Like Marty is my week in winter?
- 5:37Speaker 3: For sure? My god. I was like, are they going
- 5:40Speaker 3: to let this man go home? H Like he was
- 5:42Speaker 3: being held hosted at.
- 5:44Speaker 5: This point, is he paying taxes in Oxford? My guy
- 5:48Speaker 5: is just there in the building. I'm like, and also
- 5:51Speaker 5: like if you're old, miss, and like you know why
- 5:53Speaker 5: he's in the building, like a little bit awkward when
- 5:56Speaker 5: you walk by him as well, because like he's there
- 5:58Speaker 5: to report your coach is probably leaving.
- 6:00Speaker 3: It's me Marty. And then I'm charming. He gets the
- 6:06Speaker 3: interview and Lane's like, that was impressive.
- 6:08Speaker 5: You went off road and dodged these fire trucks to
- 6:11Speaker 5: be able to get back here to this.
- 6:13Speaker 3: But I got locked in, locked into the cilly. You
- 6:15Speaker 3: think I'm missing this interview? Oh, like I am getting
- 6:18Speaker 3: this at all. Better let me on that plane. Oh
- 6:22Speaker 3: my god. It was great.
- 6:23Speaker 6: The memes great of Marty were great coming out of
- 6:25Speaker 6: like him with a with a beard, looking like he
- 6:28Speaker 6: was like one hundred and ten years old, still waiting
- 6:29Speaker 6: on the decision.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Yeah, it was. Yeah, that's really how I felt them.
- 6:35Speaker 6: Look, I don't I don't envy plane Kiffin and what
- 6:37Speaker 6: he's had to go to. I certainly don't feel sorry
- 6:39Speaker 6: for like any decision or like and and he said
- 6:42Speaker 6: the same thing about himself, like it's something not something
- 6:44Speaker 6: that I feel sorry for. But like I envy, I
- 6:48Speaker 6: I uh, I feel bad for the decision that had
- 6:51Speaker 6: to be made. Yeah, and we can get into that
- 6:53Speaker 6: in this show of like I guess the pitfalls and
- 6:56Speaker 6: the downside of college football and the scheduling and the
- 6:59Speaker 6: time everything and how that kind of forced this. And
- 7:03Speaker 6: unfortunately there's gonna be a lot of people out there
- 7:06Speaker 6: that are there that are gonna hate that are gonna
- 7:08Speaker 6: hate the decision and Lane Kiffin for doing this and
- 7:11Speaker 6: all that stuff.
- 7:12Speaker 3: But fans, yeah, oh, make no mistake about it.
- 7:16Speaker 5: Like we we already had a lot of college football
- 7:20Speaker 5: that did not like us, Like that was already in place.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Yep.
- 7:25Speaker 6: Now we're the main villain. Yeah, No, it's like full
- 7:27Speaker 6: blown hill turn situation.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Yeah, everybody, we are. But you know we are, y'all.
- 7:31Speaker 5: Y'all know this about me, and y'all are like this
- 7:33Speaker 5: as well. It is a family, It is faith, and
- 7:37Speaker 5: it is L s U. Those are my priorities in life. Okay,
- 7:41Speaker 5: So as long as that priority for me and L
- 7:44Speaker 5: s U is it a good spot and happy and
- 7:47Speaker 5: everything's moving in the right direction. The amounts of you
- 7:50Speaker 5: know what that I don't give that that is now
- 7:53Speaker 5: going to be the case and right, wrong or indifferent right.
- 7:56Speaker 5: I am always gonna want what's best for my family
- 8:00Speaker 5: and for LSU, and for LSU. This is a great deal,
- 8:05Speaker 5: This is a great move. This is something that makes
- 8:07Speaker 5: you better instantly.
- 8:09Speaker 3: All right.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Some of y'all were there with me in Norman, Oklahoma
- 8:13Speaker 5: and had to sit in that wind and watch that offense.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I hate where is about you being such a winny wind.
- 8:22Speaker 5: I know you played in Green Bay, my guy, and
- 8:24Speaker 5: I know you just took your jacket off to try
- 8:26Speaker 5: to flex.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Okay, but did one hundred and fify push ups this week.
- 8:30Speaker 5: If you had to sit in that weather and watch
- 8:32Speaker 5: that offense, I think you are even more excited that
- 8:36Speaker 5: Lane Kiffin is now going to be scheming up your offense.
- 8:39Speaker 6: I watched the offense, but I've done a lot of
- 8:41Speaker 6: film breakdown. I didn't even I'm not even gonna like
- 8:44Speaker 6: the last couple of weeks. I haven't even watched the
- 8:49Speaker 6: snap of film. Just don't want to. There's no reason to.
- 8:52Speaker 6: I don't want to, like say why you have it?
- 8:55Speaker 6: Because you don't recognize those plays because they're not real.
- 8:58Speaker 6: A lot of them aren't real plays, you know what
- 8:59Speaker 6: I mean?
- 9:00Speaker 5: There's not a lot of real plays, like for you,
- 9:01Speaker 5: somebody that's watched tape for a long time, and I
- 9:04Speaker 5: think it's honestly, you're one of the best I've ever
- 9:06Speaker 5: been around. So when you're doing that, well, there's a
- 9:09Speaker 5: rhyme or a reason to the plays that you're typically watching,
- 9:12Speaker 5: and you can see it.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Can't you can't do that. I'm not. I mean, it's
- 9:16Speaker 3: not a joke.
- 9:17Speaker 5: It's just as factual, like it's hard to find the
- 9:20Speaker 5: rhyme and reason in what you're watching, and so it's like, I.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Don't want to watch that. Yeah, I can't make a
- 9:25Speaker 3: note of that because that's not real. Mm hmm.
- 9:27Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like, uh, Unfortunately, we saw that with our
- 9:33Speaker 6: you know, guy we hired to be offensive coordinator, then
- 9:37Speaker 6: after he was gone, the guy we didn't hire to
- 9:39Speaker 6: be an offensive coordinator, and just it just it just
- 9:42Speaker 6: never worked. And I get it, you got to keep
- 9:44Speaker 6: you gotta try different things. But like, we don't have
- 9:46Speaker 6: to worry about that. We got Lane now, so we
- 9:48Speaker 6: don't have to worry about bad offensive play anymore. I
- 9:51Speaker 6: don't think, well, we'll see, we'll see. But like to
- 9:55Speaker 6: your point, to go back a little bit, on the whole,
- 9:57Speaker 6: like LSU fool Hill turn, like got in Brak being
- 10:00Speaker 6: the bad guy a little bit at least for a
- 10:02Speaker 6: little while, Right, And you were right. People love to
- 10:05Speaker 6: hate on LSU just because of the success l You's
- 10:08Speaker 6: had in all sports, because of in il In I
- 10:14Speaker 6: LSU documentary like all that stuff. Like people kind of
- 10:18Speaker 6: like to hate on LSU just because of the success
- 10:20Speaker 6: and because people like to give LSU, I think the
- 10:23Speaker 6: benefit of about nationally about being a top program in
- 10:26Speaker 6: almost every single sport, which is something that has been earned.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it has absolutely been earned the hard way.
- 10:35Speaker 6: So I think that people are gonna hate on this
- 10:37Speaker 6: because I think maybe they think we're gonna try to
- 10:39Speaker 6: earn it the easy way or the expensive route and
- 10:42Speaker 6: exploit a little bit of the college football money game
- 10:45Speaker 6: that is this day and age, this is this is
- 10:48Speaker 6: college football. And like I was probably the last person
- 10:51Speaker 6: to jump on board with this move. I was pretty
- 10:54Speaker 6: adamant about here, like why would he leave? Like why
- 10:56Speaker 6: would you do all this? Why this or that? Like
- 10:59Speaker 6: none of that really matters now, Like I did, I
- 11:02Speaker 6: didn't like. I love the coach. I think he is
- 11:05Speaker 6: a fantastic coach. I love Lane Kiff, and I'm super
- 11:08Speaker 6: pumped that he is at LSU. But I was pretty
- 11:11Speaker 6: vocal about saying, I just hate the circumstance, right, the
- 11:14Speaker 6: circumstance that he was put in, that everybody at LSU
- 11:17Speaker 6: was put in, old miss certainly what position that old
- 11:19Speaker 6: miss is put in.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I felt terrible for their kids.
- 11:21Speaker 6: I know not many people listening to my voice right
- 11:23Speaker 6: now care, but like, those are human beings right there
- 11:26Speaker 6: that that have worked hard. But the circumstance of all
- 11:31Speaker 6: this having to happen in such a rushed manner. Yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 6: and like you heard in Lane's voice when he got
- 11:35Speaker 6: interviewed yesterday, I'm already before he jumps on the plane,
- 11:39Speaker 6: like you could tell that there's some Yeah, there's some
- 11:40Speaker 6: pain behind those eyes right there, right rightfully? So and
- 11:44Speaker 6: I get it. So I hate the circumstance of everything happening.
- 11:48Speaker 6: But now that he is here in Baton Rouge, in
- 11:52Speaker 6: that corner office and why you know, waving with top
- 11:54Speaker 6: recruits off the balcony at Michael Cobble, Like, I couldn't
- 11:58Speaker 6: be happier. I'm thrilled, right, So who cares? Like, I
- 12:02Speaker 6: guess you you have to fully embrace it.
- 12:03Speaker 3: As LSU.
- 12:04Speaker 5: I'll tell you this and we'll take a break and
- 12:06Speaker 5: we'll try to say on the clock today, it's going
- 12:09Speaker 5: to be pretty difficult to do so of all the
- 12:12Speaker 5: like of all the things that I've seen about, you know,
- 12:15Speaker 5: the schedule, which it's it's broken, and I don't you
- 12:18Speaker 5: can argue with the wall. I don't really care. I'm
- 12:19Speaker 5: telling you what it is. It's broken. Rick Patino of
- 12:23Speaker 5: all people, all right, he's a sport coach, yep, you know,
- 12:30Speaker 5: he's at Saint John's now, and he's like, he's like,
- 12:32Speaker 5: I'm not taking a knock at football, but their calendar
- 12:37Speaker 5: is like if I just got the one seed in
- 12:40Speaker 5: March madness, but I had to decide do I coach
- 12:43Speaker 5: in March madness or do I take this elevated job.
- 12:47Speaker 3: That's what the football calendar is right now, rapid.
- 12:51Speaker 5: It would be a basketball coach having to take a
- 12:54Speaker 5: job after you get into March mad Yeah.
- 12:58Speaker 6: I mean, it's absolute stupidity, and I don't know what
- 13:00Speaker 6: the fix is. Certainly, don't have an early signing day.
- 13:03Speaker 6: That's dumb. Well, I have an early signing day so
- 13:06Speaker 6: they can enroll in the second like in the spring,
- 13:08Speaker 6: semester day. Don't let them enroll in the spring semester.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Let them come do football activities. If they want to
- 13:14Speaker 6: graduate early from high school, let them come football activities
- 13:16Speaker 6: and then start schooling.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Yeah, in the summer. Like there's rules that can be made.
- 13:20Speaker 3: I know it's in.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Vogue, and I know everybody does it, and I know
- 13:23Speaker 5: that ninety percent of your class does come early now
- 13:26Speaker 5: and I think it's dumb.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I do, but man, it.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Would take a lot for me to give up my
- 13:32Speaker 5: spring semester in high school and playing sports.
- 13:35Speaker 3: One last time in high school.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Yeah, that was That was one of the most like
- 13:40Speaker 5: the most fun I can remember having. Yeah, and guess
- 13:42Speaker 5: what I got here in June and I started as
- 13:45Speaker 5: a freshman.
- 13:46Speaker 3: It can be done. Yeah, it can be done.
- 13:48Speaker 6: Everybody did it until recently, right, and like this is
- 13:52Speaker 6: probably the day and age where you need to do
- 13:54Speaker 6: it the least them out. Like the kids don't need
- 13:57Speaker 6: to roll because the transfer portal. Yeah, my kids don't
- 14:00Speaker 6: have to step in as much.
- 14:01Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure, if I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure
- 14:03Speaker 5: harlem Berry wasn't an early enrollly. I'm pretty sure he
- 14:07Speaker 5: got here in the summer I got. So I'm just
- 14:09Speaker 5: giving you an example of like, you know, freshman can
- 14:11Speaker 5: figure it out. Yeah you don't, you can get ready.
- 14:13Speaker 6: I've always thought that the them enrolling early is dumb.
- 14:17Speaker 3: I'm sorry, that's just me.
- 14:18Speaker 5: We had like one or two our class our classes, Yeah.
- 14:21Speaker 3: And that, but that was like, that was a weird thing.
- 14:23Speaker 6: It's called a gray shirt at the Yeah, j I
- 14:25Speaker 6: think JV the High sp Yeah he did. Yeah, Trindon
- 14:31Speaker 6: Holiday did interesting. Well, Yeah, you'd have to change that certainly. Yeah,
- 14:37Speaker 6: let him sign in February again. Yeah, let him go
- 14:40Speaker 6: to their problem. My god, stop putting these seventeen year olds.
- 14:46Speaker 6: Who was the quarterback year? He was like sixteen last year.
- 14:49Speaker 6: And Colin Hurley. Yeah, Colin Hurley is like sixteen years
- 14:51Speaker 6: old in spring training last year.
- 14:52Speaker 5: I'm like, yeah, that's like eighth grade advantagel, Like, let
- 14:54Speaker 5: the kid get drive for the first time.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Oh my god. All right, So we got a lot
- 15:02Speaker 3: to get to.
- 15:03Speaker 5: There's a lot of different branches on this tree of
- 15:05Speaker 5: how it all played out, how we got here, what
- 15:07Speaker 5: it's like moving forward as well. Who's coming with Lane Kiffin.
- 15:11Speaker 5: He's bringing a ton of assistance and on the field,
- 15:14Speaker 5: off the field. We will get to every single aspect
- 15:17Speaker 5: of it. There's so much to get to. Stay locked

- 17:35Speaker 3: is a big deal.
- 17:37Speaker 5: We're not gonna do it because you you know, we
- 17:40Speaker 5: know why you're here. We get it, play the hits.
- 17:42Speaker 5: We're gonna get this show started.

- 18:39Speaker 6: and dealing with some weather change. Kind of like Lane
- 18:42Speaker 6: Kiffin right now, I'll be shocked if you wouldn't get
- 18:44Speaker 6: an IV today.
- 18:44Speaker 3: It's sure not a big deal.
- 18:46Speaker 6: Go boost that immune, says a little Meyer's cocktail straight

- 18:52Speaker 3: Go flow IV. Shocked. I mean you probably did how
- 18:58Speaker 3: yoga this morning? Yeah?
- 18:59Speaker 5: I might have had one of that that private jet
- 19:01Speaker 5: a little PG. Let me just tell you something real quick.
- 19:07Speaker 5: That was the same one that I rode on to Norman.
- 19:11Speaker 5: Let me tell you something. That is a smooth ride.
- 19:15Speaker 3: You know.
- 19:15Speaker 5: I thought I was getting on like one of those
- 19:17Speaker 5: you know, not a crop dust or anything. But sure,
- 19:21Speaker 5: you know, maybe like four seats in there. Walked on
- 19:23Speaker 5: that thing. It was more than four seats and it
- 19:26Speaker 5: was a little bit smoother than the four seaters I've
- 19:28Speaker 5: been on. Yeah, it's a shout out to MMR for
- 19:32Speaker 5: the ride. A little different than that old private jet
- 19:35Speaker 5: that they had. I remember like getting picked up on
- 19:37Speaker 5: that thing for my official visit.
- 19:39Speaker 6: Yeah, picked me up at Tyler pounds Field, flew to
- 19:43Speaker 6: Course of Canada, Texas, picked up Michael Montgomery Money Mike.
- 19:46Speaker 6: He ended up playing at A and m I was
- 19:49Speaker 6: his teammate in Green Bay for a year or two. Okay,
- 19:52Speaker 6: you know, Money Mike. We went and came to Baton Rouge.
- 19:55Speaker 6: It was it was it was amazing, but it was
- 19:58Speaker 6: like real tight, real for sure.
- 20:01Speaker 5: I'm thinking that one to media days with the LSU
- 20:03Speaker 5: before so they didn't pick up the two start uh.
- 20:11Speaker 5: After we played in the state championship game. We just
- 20:13Speaker 5: we made a pit stop for my official visit.
- 20:16Speaker 3: We drove up turn into receipts. We'll pay you for.
- 20:20Speaker 5: Gas'll give you a pretty, give you a pretty.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:27Speaker 5: Yeah, don't don't get those fundings at the gas station.
- 20:29Speaker 5: So we're recovering those.
- 20:32Speaker 3: All right.
- 20:33Speaker 5: So, as we said, we know some of the staff
- 20:36Speaker 5: from Ole Miss that is coming with Lane.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Kiffen to l s U.
- 20:41Speaker 5: You've got you know, some administration and on the field, uh,
- 20:45Speaker 5: Billy glass Cock is going to come in one general manager.
- 20:49Speaker 5: You've got strength and conditioning coach Nick Savage. So pretty
- 20:53Speaker 5: solid name for a strength and conditioning coach.
- 20:55Speaker 6: That is that is s tier name for a strength
- 20:59Speaker 6: and conditioning coach. Sure Savage. Yeah, Yeah, it's.
- 21:04Speaker 5: A lot to live up to. But getting jobs in
- 21:07Speaker 5: the SEC you've probably done that.
- 21:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I think there was some rumors. Yeah,
- 21:10Speaker 6: definitely a lot to live up to with the name. Yeah,
- 21:12Speaker 6: I think you could do it. Yeah, but there's a
- 21:15Speaker 6: lot of certainly we probably should because we mentioned so
- 21:18Speaker 6: much and we love that man so much. There's a
- 21:19Speaker 6: lot of rumors like, oh could we bring them off
- 21:21Speaker 6: it back? Blah blah blah. That probably closes that door. Yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 6: you never know, but like that probably closes that door.
- 21:27Speaker 6: But with the Namelin Nick Savage, all right, yeah, let's
- 21:31Speaker 6: see step one, see what you got step on.
- 21:36Speaker 5: H of course Lane's brother, Chris Kiffin, receiver coach, George
- 21:39Speaker 5: McDonald and probably more important than any of them and
- 21:44Speaker 5: not disrespectful to any of those guys. Right, we'll see
- 21:47Speaker 5: how that plays out. We'll give you a bio of
- 21:49Speaker 5: all those different guys. But we know what Charlie Weiss
- 21:52Speaker 5: offensive coordinator is all about as well, Like that's the
- 21:55Speaker 5: name that LSU fans are going to know, and you know,
- 22:01Speaker 5: I know his name is still kind of being floated
- 22:03Speaker 5: around for some of the G six jobs that opened
- 22:05Speaker 5: up because those G six coaches took some SEC jobs.
- 22:10Speaker 5: But as of right now, Charlie Weiss also going to
- 22:13Speaker 5: be here at LSU with Lane Kiffin, so that you know,
- 22:18Speaker 5: typically you don't hear that many staff members right off
- 22:21Speaker 5: the top because you're like, okay, well they're going to
- 22:25Speaker 5: finish out and then we'll get our staff all together.
- 22:28Speaker 5: But with the way this whole thing played out and
- 22:30Speaker 5: with old miss being like no, you either kind of
- 22:32Speaker 5: enter out, and Lane knowing that he had to bring
- 22:35Speaker 5: in his staff to get started, and he did.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I mean you saw him.
- 22:39Speaker 5: Lamar Brown's in his office last night, the top recruit
- 22:42Speaker 5: in the country and he's recruiting, so he's trying to
- 22:45Speaker 5: hit the ground running as well. And so that's a
- 22:48Speaker 5: lot of names and a lot of new faces coming
- 22:50Speaker 5: with Lane Kiffin.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Yeah, and you knew there was a lot.
- 22:53Speaker 6: Yeah, you knew there would be. It is a little
- 22:55Speaker 6: surprising that they're coming now. But maybe like this thing
- 22:58Speaker 6: was so got so messed see and so sloppy at
- 23:01Speaker 6: the end from an old miss standpoint that it was
- 23:05Speaker 6: like you could tell they're like, you're either with us
- 23:08Speaker 6: or you're not.
- 23:08Speaker 3: And we don't know who really said that.
- 23:10Speaker 6: I know there was reports yesterday of like an ultimatum
- 23:12Speaker 6: that Lane Kiffin gave, like cause I think the rumors
- 23:15Speaker 6: of oh my god, like so the reports are saying that,
- 23:20Speaker 6: you know, Lane's trying to coach. Of course a lobby
- 23:24Speaker 6: into coach and like I'm taking the other Hue job,
- 23:26Speaker 6: but please let me coach this this thing out because
- 23:28Speaker 6: of the timing and schedule of college football being all
- 23:31Speaker 6: screwed up. Let me coach and finish where we started.
- 23:34Speaker 6: And then the report saying you know, no, we're not
- 23:37Speaker 6: gonna let you do that. Okay, well then I'm gonna
- 23:39Speaker 6: take take some staff. So I don't know, it's all.
- 23:43Speaker 6: It's all sloppy, and I'm just gonna like put my
- 23:47Speaker 6: blinders to it and.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Just be happy that they're here. Yeah, And that's what
- 23:51Speaker 3: I gotta do for me.
- 23:52Speaker 5: There is some person I know, I know, but there's
- 23:55Speaker 5: there's some out there met that are acting like like
- 23:58Speaker 5: this has never happened before, like it's happened even going back.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Let me let me put them.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Oh god, it's been over twenty years twenty one years
- 24:07Speaker 5: ago when coach Saban left us, like no, no, hold on,
- 24:12Speaker 5: I know, before you do your whole we weren't playing
- 24:14Speaker 5: for the playoff. I know all that, But I'm saying
- 24:17Speaker 5: he was our coach one day and then he wasn't.
- 24:19Speaker 5: Derek Dooley was my running back coach, and then he wasn't.
- 24:22Speaker 5: He was still our coach at the next game. And
- 24:26Speaker 5: I yeah, because it was the Capital One Bowl, I
- 24:29Speaker 5: understand that it wasn't the playoff. My whole point is
- 24:31Speaker 5: I'm saying those were our coaches and then three days
- 24:34Speaker 5: later after the game, they weren't sure. It's like they
- 24:37Speaker 5: leave and they went to the Miami Dolphins. So like
- 24:40Speaker 5: for players, it's you know, the playoff portion of that
- 24:43Speaker 5: is obviously something different, but like once they take jobs,
- 24:48Speaker 5: they gone. I never talked like when Dooley took the job,
- 24:51Speaker 5: he was a running back coach, when he follows Nick
- 24:53Speaker 5: to Miami, I never heard from that man again, you know,
- 24:58Speaker 5: never like until we' Louis antech our senior year and
- 25:01Speaker 5: I talked to him for thirty seconds before the game.
- 25:04Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I mean this whole thing is unprecedented, so
- 25:08Speaker 6: like this is never really it would have certainly never
- 25:15Speaker 6: happened before that a coach leaves and decides to coach
- 25:17Speaker 6: for an extended period of time, and certainly they have
- 25:20Speaker 6: potentially what three more games to play and soon to
- 25:24Speaker 6: be probably the most important, biggest game in the history
- 25:27Speaker 6: of ole Miss hosting a playoff game pretty big deal
- 25:31Speaker 6: for sure.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's all because of what Lane and his
- 25:34Speaker 3: staff have done.
- 25:36Speaker 6: So yeah, certainly it would have been against the norm
- 25:39Speaker 6: to let him stay.
- 25:42Speaker 3: So yeah, I don't know. I feel bad for the kids.
- 25:45Speaker 6: John Summer, who will get to that's the same situation.
- 25:50Speaker 3: He's gonna at least coach the American Championship.
- 25:53Speaker 5: Yep, too Lane, right now, opportunity to make the Cosge
- 25:56Speaker 5: Football playoff a lot believe if they win the American
- 26:00Speaker 5: that they're going to get in the playoff. So I
- 26:03Speaker 5: mean it's not just Lane Kiff and leaving Old Miss.
- 26:06Speaker 5: I mean that's the same situation in North Texas. And
- 26:11Speaker 5: if they win the American and they get into the playoff,
- 26:13Speaker 5: guess where their coach is.
- 26:15Speaker 3: He's there. He's also the head coach of Oklahoma State.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Now mm hmm. And it's a little different ball again
- 26:21Speaker 3: because it's they're certainly not a rival.
- 26:22Speaker 5: They're not going to right, I get that part, But
- 26:26Speaker 5: their team still has a chance of the Coast Football Playoff.
- 26:28Speaker 5: One of those two teams, in my opinion, is probably
- 26:30Speaker 5: going to get in. And if they don't, by the way,
- 26:32Speaker 5: I get the turnover Chaine because that means James Madison
- 26:35Speaker 5: went got in.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Just lett, y'all know. But come on, too Lane.
- 26:40Speaker 5: I mean, so like this situation is not going to
- 26:43Speaker 5: be unique probably to Lank If in an Old Miss,
- 26:46Speaker 5: you're too Lane in North Texas might be in the
- 26:49Speaker 5: playoffs as well with their coach being the head coach
- 26:51Speaker 5: somewhere else.
- 26:52Speaker 6: Yeah, and that's probably the Probably something like this needed
- 26:54Speaker 6: to happen if people actually want college football schedule to change,
- 26:58Speaker 6: you needed something that is this polarizing. You needed something
- 27:03Speaker 6: this big to happen to like, to spark any change
- 27:06Speaker 6: in anything in life, you got to have something that
- 27:08Speaker 6: sparks it. And uh, hopefully this this does. But Fellows fans,
- 27:15Speaker 6: it doesn't really matter. What do you let's do over there?
- 27:19Speaker 4: I think editing something. I was gonna say that it
- 27:24Speaker 4: kind of happened with Brian Kelly, like Notre Dame was
- 27:28Speaker 4: they had a chance, they had a chance to make
- 27:30Speaker 4: the playoffs when he left them in the middle of
- 27:32Speaker 4: the night.
- 27:33Speaker 6: Yeah, the boor when he left Washington, And that was
- 27:38Speaker 6: kind of after when the rumors had started before, but
- 27:42Speaker 6: he did.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Yeah, it didn't come out till after I guess the game.
- 27:45Speaker 5: I think coach Saban knew what he was doing by
- 27:47Speaker 5: delaying his retirement until you know. That probably happened as well.
- 27:51Speaker 5: But the whole point is not the first time. It's
- 27:53Speaker 5: not the first time. Now this one looks why do
- 27:56Speaker 5: you keep scrunching your nose. It's not the first time
- 27:59Speaker 5: you have two coaches is in North Texas in Tunelane
- 28:01Speaker 5: that to be in the same situation, you know the.
- 28:04Speaker 6: Words coming out of your mouth. I got it. But
- 28:08Speaker 6: it's a little it's a pretty unique situation. Let's be honest.
- 28:11Speaker 5: But m M, you know you know the definition of unique,
- 28:16Speaker 5: because there's a chance that it could be.
- 28:19Speaker 6: You can look at everything with rose colored glasses if
- 28:21Speaker 6: you want. But it's it was messy. It was sloppy.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Oh of course it was.
- 28:24Speaker 5: But I'm saying it's not going to be the only one.
- 28:26Speaker 5: There's literally a chance that Oklahoma State's new coach or
- 28:30Speaker 5: Florida's new coach is gonna be put in the same
- 28:31Speaker 5: situation by who wins the American Championship Game?
- 28:34Speaker 3: Are they historic rivals so they play every year? Okay?
- 28:38Speaker 3: That adds a layer to it, That's what I'm saying.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Let me.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Okay, it took seven overtimes for L. S U and
- 28:44Speaker 5: A and M to be a thing. Seven overtimes. They
- 28:47Speaker 5: tried to force that to be a rival. It wasn't
- 28:49Speaker 5: It took seven overtimes?
- 28:52Speaker 3: Would you let me?
- 28:53Speaker 5: I'm trying to get there. It took that, Okay, Ole
- 28:58Speaker 5: Miss and L s U. I know for some people
- 29:00Speaker 5: it's been a rival. Was Old Miss a rival for you, sir?
- 29:03Speaker 5: When you played for LSU? Did you feel any Did
- 29:07Speaker 5: you feel any different when you made for me?
- 29:09Speaker 3: Either? All right?
- 29:13Speaker 5: So now sure, Now this adds a layer to it.
- 29:17Speaker 5: Maybe it's back, because I know at one time it
- 29:18Speaker 5: certainly was. It wasn't for a long time. There's a
- 29:21Speaker 5: lot of LSU football players that if you said give
- 29:24Speaker 5: me your three rivals, not one of them would say
- 29:26Speaker 5: Old Missing.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Those three.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Now you could ask some old heads and they for
- 29:30Speaker 5: sure would put Ole Miss in there. This just restarts
- 29:34Speaker 5: one of your permanent opponents. And now it took seven
- 29:37Speaker 5: over times for A and M to get some juice.
- 29:40Speaker 5: Well the juice is there now. So sure rival. Now
- 29:48Speaker 5: you just said it. You just said they weren't a
- 29:50Speaker 5: rival when you played.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Yeah, true, or in conference?
- 29:56Speaker 6: I never have a part. I know that part is different.
- 30:00Speaker 6: It is is a little bit different. The people who
- 30:02Speaker 6: play every year are in fact some sort of rival.
- 30:05Speaker 6: That's why it's different than the Big twelve. It's why
- 30:07Speaker 6: it's everything the Big ten. Anyway, we're arguing for nothing
- 30:12Speaker 6: right now, for no reason.
- 30:15Speaker 3: We do that a lot. Yeah, the old ball and chain,
- 30:20Speaker 3: old ball and chain.
- 30:21Speaker 5: All right, we'll take a break more OTB when we
- 30:24Speaker 5: come back here live.
- 30:25Speaker 3: From the Raising King Studio.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Well, what do we do? Go for dose?
- 30:34Speaker 6: Maybe nerve elibatory Irvin spears or celebratory beers.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Nervis spears is probably right for a.
- 30:40Speaker 6: Lot of people, uh beers watching the Oklahoma game.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Mmm, a lot of anger drinking.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I would have liked to go on for dose
- 30:50Speaker 5: and in the booth after you probably should have ended
- 30:52Speaker 5: the game there, probably should have.
- 30:56Speaker 3: But look, you got the holidays coming up.
- 30:58Speaker 5: You probably enjoyed it with Thanksgiving, you got Christmas, you
- 31:01Speaker 5: got the New Year's you got family in town, you
- 31:03Speaker 5: got everybody around the fire. No better way to celebrate
- 31:07Speaker 5: this holiday season than going for dose.
- 31:09Speaker 3: That's right.
- 31:11Speaker 6: We talked about all the different types of beers where
- 31:13Speaker 6: we talked about airport beers, talking about Friday beers, But
- 31:17Speaker 6: what about holiday beers? The holidays have started December first people,
- 31:21Speaker 6: Christmas has started. Man, no better time to go for dose.
- 31:24Speaker 6: Get you a little sixer at cold Mexican Logger, Go
- 31:26Speaker 6: for dose.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I'm coming out of my cage and two thousand and
- 31:36Speaker 1: seven Champs Purple and gold to the core. This is
- 31:39Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn Baton, Rouge's go
- 31:43Speaker 1: to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 31:54Speaker 5: Saw All right, welcome back in OTB.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Christmas theme. As you see behind us.
- 32:21Speaker 5: Look, I heard the open festively are Happy birthday to
- 32:25Speaker 5: my fourteen year old knock. Shout out to Knox fourteen
- 32:29Speaker 5: many got a sixteen and a fourteen week ow dude,
- 32:33Speaker 5: and also twelve, and also a nine and also two.
- 32:35Speaker 5: But you're old man, sixteen year old and.
- 32:39Speaker 3: A fourteen year old, So shout out to my guy Knox.
- 32:41Speaker 5: Christopher turning fourteen years birthday last weekend. Yeah, he's taking
- 32:46Speaker 5: all his buddies are going to see uh see the
- 32:49Speaker 5: god what movie? It's a movie? It is it's like
- 32:54Speaker 5: an anime movie or second, I'm not at stake. I
- 32:56Speaker 5: think it's I think it's an anime movie. I bought
- 32:58Speaker 5: the tickets last night. I should know this.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Uh.
- 33:00Speaker 5: But yeah, he's taking him as his buddies are going
- 33:02Speaker 5: to uh to the movies. Are gonna celebrate this weekend.
- 33:05Speaker 5: We're doing hibachi tonight. Oh that's such a good burden, say,
- 33:10Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, we all win. Everybody wins.
- 33:15Speaker 6: You do you have to get like reservations like six
- 33:18Speaker 6: days in advance or like or a.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Like four point thirty.
- 33:23Speaker 5: Yeah, we also do we just get another We also
- 33:25Speaker 5: do the Hibachi Express too, because like my kids are
- 33:30Speaker 5: they like that, they like going and seeing the show.
- 33:32Speaker 5: But like on a weekday after school after Thanksgiving break,
- 33:36Speaker 5: he might be like, hey, can we just like get
- 33:38Speaker 5: the Hibachi Express and do it at the house. Yep,
- 33:40Speaker 5: you know, so we'll see you know what.
- 33:43Speaker 6: Like one of the one of the more impressive professions
- 33:46Speaker 6: out there is being habachi chef. Like this, the amount
- 33:49Speaker 6: of skill that those guys have, it's incredible. I gotta
- 33:52Speaker 6: sit there and I watch my kids who have no
- 33:56Speaker 6: mouth eye coordination. They've never trained it. They can catch
- 34:02Speaker 6: an egg. They don't even move their face. I got
- 34:05Speaker 6: throw that egg right in there. It's unbelievable. So we
- 34:08Speaker 6: haven't thrown the shrimp at the kids yet. Well, obviously
- 34:12Speaker 6: catch it from across from Saint Francisville.
- 34:17Speaker 3: He's got it, no doubt. I might have to take
- 34:19Speaker 3: an egg. I might have to move my left right.
- 34:22Speaker 3: I can see him.
- 34:23Speaker 5: I can see him being ultra competitive, like boxing out
- 34:29Speaker 5: his kids to try to catch the little piece of egg.
- 34:32Speaker 6: That's the guy's throwing over there. I'll burn my hand
- 34:33Speaker 6: if I have to lean over. It doesn't matter. Oh yeah,
- 34:38Speaker 6: it's pretty good. But it's impressive what they do. They
- 34:41Speaker 6: just they get like the accuracy they have with a
- 34:44Speaker 6: long spatula like that with a little flick of an egg.
- 34:46Speaker 4: And they like flip knives and stuff and absolutely with knives.
- 34:50Speaker 6: I like when they put the throw the egg on
- 34:52Speaker 6: top of their hat. I like when they roll it down,
- 34:54Speaker 6: the spetch over.
- 34:55Speaker 4: The egg roll.
- 34:57Speaker 6: So when I was in Green Bay used to go
- 34:59Speaker 6: to there was a about you like not a lot
- 35:01Speaker 6: of restaurants in Green Bay.
- 35:02Speaker 3: There's a lot.
- 35:03Speaker 5: I mean when you were there, like I've heard, like
- 35:05Speaker 5: being there for the draft, I heard like all the
- 35:07Speaker 5: things that were like really really cool, weren't they were
- 35:09Speaker 5: like five especially.
- 35:10Speaker 3: For stuff around the state.
- 35:12Speaker 6: Like so when I was there, it was like either
- 35:13Speaker 6: chain restaurants or really nice restaurants. Hated to see you coming.
- 35:18Speaker 6: Oh my god, are you kidding me? Red Robin killing.
- 35:22Speaker 3: It, Red Robin.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Bottomless.
- 35:26Speaker 6: We had so much Chipotle it was ridiculous, but like
- 35:30Speaker 6: like one treat that would give ourselves, like once a
- 35:32Speaker 6: week we'd go to the Bachi place, because like we
- 35:34Speaker 6: all had that memory of you know, it's we got
- 35:38Speaker 6: to go there as a kid. I got to go
- 35:39Speaker 6: there like once a year. From now we're an adult
- 35:42Speaker 6: and we're getting a paycheck. Like I can go to
- 35:44Speaker 6: hibachi as much as I want.
- 35:45Speaker 3: This is amazing. So we would go there quite often
- 35:49Speaker 3: and uh I go. Then we we were there so much.
- 35:51Speaker 6: We were sitting at the table and chef comes over
- 35:54Speaker 6: and it's like, you know what, man, we're just hungry.
- 35:57Speaker 6: You can just cook. You don't have to do all
- 35:58Speaker 6: the tricks. He's like okay, and he starts going. I
- 36:01Speaker 6: think about it for like a minute. Like a minute later,
- 36:02Speaker 6: I'm like, you know what, keep the volcano, thanks bud.
- 36:06Speaker 6: So kept the volcano, Keep the volcano, keep it coming.
- 36:11Speaker 6: So yeah, one of those things.
- 36:13Speaker 4: The train.
- 36:14Speaker 3: The train is pretty good too, to m hmm. Make
- 36:17Speaker 3: the heart out of the rice.
- 36:19Speaker 4: I'm hungry, just make the food, but have to do
- 36:22Speaker 4: the tricks. Keep the volcano, keep.
- 36:24Speaker 3: The volcano place, thank you.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Also, like when they do the heartbeat with the rice,
- 36:28Speaker 4: the heartbeat is pretty good.
- 36:30Speaker 3: So respect that.
- 36:31Speaker 5: It's like the dance move and a step up, you know.
- 36:34Speaker 5: So when they have a little heartbeat, you know.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Exactly. Yeah, yeah, you get it. I get it. No,
- 36:41Speaker 3: I get it. Yeah kidding me. You're sipping one. I'm poored.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Uh huh. So where we go at the beat?
- 36:45Speaker 4: That's a new one, and I like it. I haven't
- 36:47Speaker 4: heard that one what I'm sipping with your.
- 36:49Speaker 3: Okay, all right, yeah, I've heard like all.
- 36:51Speaker 6: Of them, but that one picking up what I'm putting
- 36:54Speaker 6: down like those, and I'm gonna I want to throw
- 36:57Speaker 6: this idea out to anybody that's like has an entrepreneurial
- 37:00Speaker 6: out there.
- 37:01Speaker 3: I got the where we go to at the beach.
- 37:03Speaker 6: There's like this company that does the things called mister
- 37:05Speaker 6: Hubachi and they do like in home.
- 37:08Speaker 3: Come to your backyard, come to your backyard.
- 37:09Speaker 6: I don't know if we really have that battery. So
- 37:11Speaker 6: if someone wants to start that, you got a customer.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Didn't do that for your birthday one year?
- 37:15Speaker 6: We no, no, no, no, we got like stuff brought in
- 37:19Speaker 6: for that, but it wasn't like you got there sitting
- 37:21Speaker 6: and chopping up eggs and people's faces. So like that's
- 37:25Speaker 6: like the count you have a little house party, little
- 37:27Speaker 6: dinner party, little birthday party of the house.
- 37:29Speaker 3: So if someone wants to start that. You got a
- 37:30Speaker 3: customer right Christmas party?
- 37:34Speaker 4: Yes, and we get Hbachi what's called Hibachi rock Star
- 37:39Speaker 4: Hubachi to come.
- 37:42Speaker 3: All right, we can't do should we send up?
- 37:45Speaker 6: We should send you got a Lane, well, welcome present
- 37:50Speaker 6: TV to the office because we got to get them
- 37:52Speaker 6: obviously coming on this show.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah for sure. Not weekly daily.
- 37:56Speaker 4: We got snubbed by the last coach.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Yes, we had the other coach. We had coach O weekly.
- 38:02Speaker 5: We have Kim Moulk the Goat, Jay Johnson the Goat Weekly.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Kim Molke and Lane Kiffin all in the same program.
- 38:11Speaker 4: That's gonna be wild.
- 38:12Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like awesome dogs going all of them.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Well, Brady bunch of screen and Jay's like the quiet
- 38:21Speaker 4: psycho in a good way, Yeah, in a good way.
- 38:24Speaker 3: In a great way. Okay with there, Bud, Yeah, just
- 38:29Speaker 3: making sure making sure you don't have an interview in
- 38:33Speaker 3: sixteen minutes, making sure we'd have to leave you to
- 38:36Speaker 3: go to the football operation.
- 38:37Speaker 5: But also Ross Ellingers joining us at eight thirty, and
- 38:41Speaker 5: I was confirming that as well, love that Gordy's gonna
- 38:44Speaker 5: come sit in with us for a segment at eight o'clock.
- 38:46Speaker 5: I obviously want to get G's thoughts on him also now
- 38:50Speaker 5: he really had to sit in the cold and watch
- 38:51Speaker 5: that l shoe offense in Norman, Oklahoma. Just get G's
- 38:55Speaker 5: thoughts on Lane Kiffing and kind of what that looks
- 38:58Speaker 5: like as well.
- 38:59Speaker 3: So I'm about today's show.
- 39:01Speaker 5: You know, we've had a couple of weeks and and
- 39:04Speaker 5: shout out to Frank Wilson for keeping it all together
- 39:06Speaker 5: and for having that team ready to fight in Tuscaloosa,
- 39:09Speaker 5: ready to fight in Norman. You get a victory against Arkansas,
- 39:12Speaker 5: I know what Western Kentucky look like. We've all had
- 39:15Speaker 5: those games. We beat Troy with two minutes left my
- 39:17Speaker 5: freshman year. We've all had those games. But that was
- 39:20Speaker 5: a team that, I mean, the offense in the foundation
- 39:24Speaker 5: of it is broken. We know that we've laid that
- 39:27Speaker 5: out there. Anybody can see that. But they fought, and
- 39:30Speaker 5: they fought like hell. And that defense, my god, I mean,
- 39:33Speaker 5: they were gonna have to be perfect, unfortunately, and they
- 39:35Speaker 5: had one uh you know, miss Assigmon and coverage obviously
- 39:39Speaker 5: we all saw, but man, they were relentless.
- 39:43Speaker 6: Yeah, the defense was fantastic, and I'd like to I mean,
- 39:45Speaker 6: they deserve. They deserve it kind of break down that
- 39:49Speaker 6: performance and yeah, again, like I'll double down on your
- 39:52Speaker 6: credit to Frank Wilson on how he kept it, and
- 39:55Speaker 6: like there's there's something that an interim coach has to do,
- 39:57Speaker 6: which is keep everything together, keep everything together from keep
- 40:00Speaker 6: things from shadowing, and keep the energy up. And you
- 40:05Speaker 6: saw that on both sides of the ball, all three
- 40:07Speaker 6: phases of the ball. You saw more energy, you saw
- 40:09Speaker 6: more excitement, you saw more try try hards right now
- 40:13Speaker 6: an offense and didn't come the offense regress I mean,
- 40:16Speaker 6: which which was hard to say because they were bad
- 40:18Speaker 6: before Sloan left and it just kept going downhill.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Yeah, but they didn't. It wasn't like they weren't playing
- 40:25Speaker 3: with energy.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 40:26Speaker 6: Offense is a different thing. It's a fine motor skill thing.
- 40:28Speaker 6: It's an execution deal the foundation. Everything was so broken
- 40:32Speaker 6: this entire year, from the onset of this season starting
- 40:35Speaker 6: dating back to the last spring, everything was so broken.
- 40:39Speaker 3: The execution just wasn't.
- 40:41Speaker 6: It was impossible to happen no matter how much energy
- 40:43Speaker 6: you had, right, So there was there was no fixing that.
- 40:45Speaker 3: But at least, like you know, so credit.
- 40:47Speaker 6: To them, I mean, try to everybody, Frank and the staff,
- 40:51Speaker 6: and we can also we should also get into that
- 40:54Speaker 6: of like what we think our opinions are and like
- 40:55Speaker 6: the must keeps four lane Kiffin.
- 40:58Speaker 3: No, you call that what Radio teas. It's not a
- 41:01Speaker 3: big deal. We'll do it now, people on TV.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Off the bench, all right.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Go to boudros Eelectrical dot com.
- 41:09Speaker 5: When you go to the website top right corner, you

- 42:32Speaker 3: All right, Welcome back in OTB.
- 42:34Speaker 5: We want to remind you by our friends over at
- 42:35Speaker 5: ktz and tears and Outdoor Living been doing it since.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Two thousand and four.
- 42:39Speaker 5: Ktoz Blinds dot com is the website interior outdoor Living.
- 42:44Speaker 5: Brandon Barton and the team gonna come out, know your
- 42:46Speaker 5: space and learn your space, change your space in a
- 42:48Speaker 5: matter of minutes. They've done it for me, they'll do
- 42:50Speaker 5: it for you as well. Sometimes they fix the outside.
- 42:53Speaker 5: You don't even know what it's going to help. The inside.
- 42:55Speaker 5: Can't tell you what it's like. On Sundays, you got
- 42:57Speaker 5: the sun blaring in, you drop that shade, watch football
- 43:00Speaker 5: no glare on your TV. Also kind of helps out
- 43:03Speaker 5: with the temperature in the summertime with your living room
- 43:06Speaker 5: and Brandon Barton and the team did that for me,
- 43:08Speaker 5: and again they'll do it for you at your home,
- 43:09Speaker 5: at your business kt OZ, Blinds dot com. All right, Matt,
- 43:14Speaker 5: you mentioned the defense and they were great yet again
- 43:18Speaker 5: on Saturday in Norman and with all the people at
- 43:22Speaker 5: Lane Kiffen brought with him from Ole Mess It's been
- 43:27Speaker 5: offensive staff, or it's been you know, player personnel or
- 43:30Speaker 5: some my general managers.
- 43:32Speaker 3: No defense, all right.
- 43:34Speaker 5: Now, his brother was defensive analysts and as a defensive background,
- 43:38Speaker 5: but you know Pete Golding now they're head coach. It
- 43:44Speaker 5: never felt like that was going to be the move
- 43:46Speaker 5: here either. And I can tell you from having conversations
- 43:49Speaker 5: with Lane and destin this year and at SEC media days.
- 43:54Speaker 5: Big fan of Blake Baker, Yeah, big fan, big fan
- 43:58Speaker 5: of what he does. Talked about, you know, the difficulties
- 44:03Speaker 5: when you're going against a Blake Baker defense. Ole Miss
- 44:07Speaker 5: was held up, was it twenty four points when they
- 44:09Speaker 5: played against LSU and weren't putting some great situations.
- 44:12Speaker 3: But still I know there's a deep appreciation.
- 44:15Speaker 5: And again I've heard that from Lane to me like
- 44:18Speaker 5: that's the source, Like I know he has that for
- 44:21Speaker 5: Blake Baker, and so I know it's trending right now
- 44:25Speaker 5: in a good direction. Now, I know there's a two
- 44:27Speaker 5: lane portion of this that's where Blake played, and now
- 44:30Speaker 5: their job is open.
- 44:31Speaker 3: I don't know where that's at, but I can tell
- 44:33Speaker 3: you that.
- 44:35Speaker 5: It's going in the right direction for this defensive staff
- 44:38Speaker 5: for a large majority of it. I don't know if
- 44:40Speaker 5: it's in its totality yep, but I think the moves
- 44:43Speaker 5: are telling us a story of a defensive staff that
- 44:45Speaker 5: might be put back in the same place they were.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Yeah, we certainly hope so.
- 44:49Speaker 6: And I think as an LSU fan base, that's something
- 44:51Speaker 6: that we wanted to see potentially from a income A
- 44:55Speaker 6: new head coach was man, unless he's got some bad
- 45:00Speaker 6: at defense and defensive coordinator, like please like that's that's
- 45:04Speaker 6: a one guy. There's a couple of guys on the defense.
- 45:07Speaker 6: I think Blake Baker, I think Corey Raymond, I think
- 45:08Speaker 6: Kyle Williams, and that's those are just the ones that
- 45:11Speaker 6: stick out to me. I don't want to like minimize
- 45:13Speaker 6: any of the other efforts by the coaches on the defense.
- 45:15Speaker 5: Ja Golson the job he did at safety with aj
- 45:18Speaker 5: Hawsey to Marcus Cooley, Yeah, remarkable as.
- 45:20Speaker 6: Well, I think that you know, Lane comes in and
- 45:23Speaker 6: he solidifies the offensive side of the ball. There is
- 45:26Speaker 6: no upgrade needed on the defensive side of the ball, right,
- 45:29Speaker 6: I don't need it to me like if you're going
- 45:31Speaker 6: to go like you'd be lucky to find somebody at
- 45:34Speaker 6: the equal level of Blake Baker, certainly not going to
- 45:37Speaker 6: find somebody at a greater level. So unless there's like
- 45:40Speaker 6: some sort of just unspoken loyalty out there to defensive coaches,
- 45:43Speaker 6: which there might be, and it's understandable there's a human
- 45:45Speaker 6: element to this thing that lank if it might have
- 45:47Speaker 6: loyalties to some some guys, these relationships with guys he's
- 45:50Speaker 6: been with a long time. But I think if you
- 45:52Speaker 6: want the best for your new football team, you want
- 45:55Speaker 6: to really take a strong look at keeping Blake Baker
- 45:58Speaker 6: and a lot of that defensive Now, like you said,
- 46:01Speaker 6: there's a two line element to this, right, potentially Blake
- 46:04Speaker 6: Baker be enough for that. But I think I also
- 46:06Speaker 6: heard rumors of the Shannon Dawson, the offensive coordinator at
- 46:09Speaker 6: the University of Miami, who is from Louisiana, also going
- 46:12Speaker 6: to be in the.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Mix for the two line jobs.
- 46:14Speaker 6: So we'll see how all that plays out, if if
- 46:16Speaker 6: that's a job that Blake Baker would like to take
- 46:18Speaker 6: right now, or I mean, I know he's one of
- 46:19Speaker 6: the highest paid assistant coaches, so maybe he's okay with
- 46:22Speaker 6: doing like stop here Lane.
- 46:23Speaker 5: Yeah loves it here, came back here from Como when
- 46:27Speaker 5: he went to go be the Missouri defensive coordinator. So yeah,
- 46:29Speaker 5: something certainly to watch. Something we'll come back to throughout
- 46:32Speaker 5: the show. And right now it looks like it's trending
- 46:34Speaker 5: in a really good spot for LSU to keep that
- 46:37Speaker 5: defense staff. All right at number two when we come
- 46:39Speaker 5: back here live from the Raisin King Studio, off the bench,
- 46:43Speaker 5: all right, we are fired up to be back with
- 46:45Speaker 5: rejuven Me. Rejuve me Medical dot Com is the website. Remember,
