A Concord-based sports memorabilia dealer, Daniel Damato, just got 21 months in federal prison for selling fake Willie Mays gear—including bats and jerseys—with forged histories. Between 2022 and 2024, he ripped off buyers for hundreds of thousands, even lying about a 1954 World Series bat and a 1972 game jersey. He also failed to deliver a $900K item and tried to obstruct the FBI by contacting a witness. After pleading guilty, he’s ordered to repay over a million dollars to victims.
