- 0:17Speaker 1: What you're doing with it? Trying to do the very
- 0:19Speaker 1: very best I can with it? I really am. You know,
- 0:23Speaker 1: I get tired sometimes on my journey. I'm not gonna
- 0:26Speaker 1: kid you. Trying to make something about yourself is a task.
- 0:35Speaker 1: If you want to attempt to do something, and and
- 0:38Speaker 1: and understand going in that that the if the thing
- 0:43Speaker 1: you're trying to do is to improve yourself, to better
- 0:47Speaker 1: your position, to better your relationship, your family, anything, You're
- 0:53Speaker 1: trying to be a better you. You're trying to make
- 0:56Speaker 1: more money, You're trying to get it together, you trying
- 1:00Speaker 1: to change if any of those things are in your
- 1:05Speaker 1: hopes and dreams. Know this right here, you are about
- 1:10Speaker 1: to face some challenges. But you might as well go
- 1:15Speaker 1: ahead anyway and face those challenges, because if you don't,
- 1:20Speaker 1: you have a whole other set of challenges to face.
- 1:23Speaker 1: You know. It's an amazing thing, man, how people sit
- 1:27Speaker 1: around and they watch other people strike out to become successful.
- 1:32Speaker 1: They sit in the stands watching these people play out
- 1:35Speaker 1: these games and they and they, and they criticize, they boo,
- 1:39Speaker 1: they laugh at their efforts and everything, and they talk
- 1:43Speaker 1: about the failse he missed that game when he shot
- 1:46Speaker 1: boy he suck man, he did this. He ain't worth that.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I hear people who sit in stands who criticize people
- 1:56Speaker 1: who are out there on the playing field. Now, when
- 2:00Speaker 1: you're on the playing field, you have a set of
- 2:04Speaker 1: challenges in front of you. You're going to be open
- 2:06Speaker 1: to criticism, You're going to be open to ridicule. You're
- 2:11Speaker 1: going to be talked about when you don't know the
- 2:13Speaker 1: people who are talking about you. Now, here's the upside
- 2:21Speaker 1: to being the player on the field that's facing all
- 2:25Speaker 1: the challenges, to criticisms, the laughing, the joke, to being
- 2:29Speaker 1: talked about. He has something going for him. This person, boy, woman, child, girl,
- 2:38Speaker 1: man has an opportunity to win. They have an opportunity
- 2:45Speaker 1: to win. And in the game of life, just because
- 2:51Speaker 1: you lose one of the games or you lose one
- 2:53Speaker 1: of the matches, it don't mean you've lost. You don't
- 2:57Speaker 1: get put out. You keep playing. And when you're playing,
- 3:03Speaker 1: here's the upside. You have the opportunity to win. But
- 3:07Speaker 1: guess what, you're gonna win some of the matches. You're
- 3:10Speaker 1: gonna win some of the points. You're gonna make some
- 3:11Speaker 1: of the dunks. You're gonna hit some of them over
- 3:13Speaker 1: the wall. You're gonna hit some out the park. You're
- 3:16Speaker 1: gonna score some goals. You will if you're playing the game.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Here's the problem with the people who don't face criticism,
- 3:27Speaker 1: who nobody boos or cheers for, who sits in the
- 3:31Speaker 1: stands and knows neither victory nor defeat. Those people, without
- 3:39Speaker 1: realizing it, are facing a set of challenges also. And
- 3:44Speaker 1: the challenges they're facing is how I'm gonna live with myself?
- 3:50Speaker 1: What I'm gonna do? Now? What direction am I going in?
- 3:58Speaker 1: Where am I gonna live? Wonder what job will hire me?
- 4:06Speaker 1: Wonder if I can get paid for criticizing? Ah, woe
- 4:11Speaker 1: is me? I can't find the purpose in my life.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And man, I'm just waking up in a state of confusion.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I don't know what to do. Now, let me ask
- 4:24Speaker 1: you something, which one of them set the challenges you'd
- 4:26Speaker 1: rather be faced with? Because if I'm on the flow playing,
- 4:30Speaker 1: if I'm on the field playing, if I'm out on
- 4:33Speaker 1: the court playing, then guess what I got a chance
- 4:37Speaker 1: at winning. But guess what I'm doing every day while
- 4:40Speaker 1: I'm playing. I'm strategizing. I'm waking up with a purpose.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'm waking up trying to come up with another angle.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I'm in pursuit of a goal every single day. Versus
- 4:55Speaker 1: the people in the stands know neither victory nor defeat.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Get in the game, face the challenges. Better yourself, better
- 5:10Speaker 1: your wife, better your children, better your condition, better your
- 5:13Speaker 1: employment status, better your job, better your career. Take a shot.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Come on, man, what you waiting on? Because the alternative
- 5:21Speaker 1: is to watch other people play the game? You know
- 5:25Speaker 1: what I just do? Sometimes sometimes I just I get
- 5:28Speaker 1: Forbes magazine or Money magazine, or sometimes I still grab
- 5:33Speaker 1: a copy of the rob Report. I just flip through
- 5:36Speaker 1: it just to see. I used to get this book
- 5:39Speaker 1: called Unique Homes. Unique Homes is a magazine that just
- 5:43Speaker 1: has a lot of extravagant houses that's on sale across
- 5:47Speaker 1: the country, across the world. I used to flip through. Man,
- 5:50Speaker 1: let me just see, man, what the people that's playing
- 5:53Speaker 1: the game out there doing. Stop watching other people become
- 5:57Speaker 1: successful when you could very easily be you if you
- 6:01Speaker 1: make the decision. But when you make the decision to
- 6:04Speaker 1: become successful, get ready for a series of challenges. I
- 6:09Speaker 1: think it's more difficult not to accept the challenge. I
- 6:13Speaker 1: think it's for me. This is just for me. It
- 6:16Speaker 1: may not be the case for you. For me, I
- 6:17Speaker 1: think it's far more difficult to wake up and just
- 6:20Speaker 1: see how life gonna go today, because man, it could
- 6:23Speaker 1: just deal you any kind of hand today. You understand
- 6:28Speaker 1: I don't like, you know, spades. Let's talk a card
- 6:32Speaker 1: game for a temple, the game of spades. Really, man,
- 6:35Speaker 1: it ain't a whole lot you can do if you
- 6:37Speaker 1: don't get no spades. Really, it's a little couple of
- 6:40Speaker 1: little strategies you're gonna do. But you can have all
- 6:43Speaker 1: this age, king, queen, diamond all you want. But man,
- 6:45Speaker 1: you ain't got no spades. They cutting them. You're in trouble.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Be it. With different game. You can create what's in
- 6:53Speaker 1: your hand. You got dealt a hand too, But you
- 6:56Speaker 1: can create a hand. You can call a trump. You
- 6:59Speaker 1: can make diamonds your spades. You can make hard to
- 7:03Speaker 1: clubs your spades. That's what I'm saying. You can do
- 7:06Speaker 1: something with it. It's a different game, man. You can strategize.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I would rather have a say so in my life
- 7:12Speaker 1: than to wake up every day and just see how
- 7:14Speaker 1: it's going. I think it's more difficult to not accept
- 7:17Speaker 1: the challenge to be something than it is to accept
- 7:20Speaker 1: the challenge to be something. I think it's more difficult
- 7:23Speaker 1: to sit around and not be nothing. I think it's
- 7:26Speaker 1: harder to watch everybody life going somewhere but mine. I
- 7:29Speaker 1: think it would be very difficult for me to sit
- 7:31Speaker 1: here and hear them talking about other people that never
- 7:34Speaker 1: mentioned my name. It would be difficult for me to
- 7:37Speaker 1: see everybody rise and getting promotions accept me. That would
- 7:41Speaker 1: be difficult for me. It may not be for you,
- 7:43Speaker 1: but for me it would be quite challenging. I would
- 7:46Speaker 1: rather accept the challenge of making something out of my
- 7:49Speaker 1: life than to sit there and criticize those and then
- 7:53Speaker 1: watch and see how my life just may go. Okay,
- 7:56Speaker 1: just a thought. Today, you're listening to Eve Harvey Morning Show.
