Welcome to Soul Elevation: Guiding Your Ascension to New Heights. I'm your host Kara Goodwin, Today, I'm excited to talk to you about the inverted reality and what this means, and there are a couple of different ways that we're gonna look at this, this kind of upside-down world that we're in. And I was reading a book recently that was really fascinating called The Red Lion, and this is actually a novel. It's a, an, about alchemy. It's beautifully written. Um, a lot of divine inspiration, I believe, went into this book. Very beautiful book. It's old. Um, but I was really captured, captivated by, uh, something that I read in that book, which was the... I can't
• 1:00
even remember now how they put it, but they were talking about the Earth plane and spiritual, the spiritual plane. And so they were talking about it like a mirror or like how it, as it being... I can't remember again exactly how they put it, but as it being upside down, and that it's, that what we experience here is the opposite in the spirit world. And they didn't go deeply into that But I was... It was such a fascinating way to think about things because... And they said, one of the things that they said was that, um, what is good here is bad there, and what's is bad there seems good here, and that's really interesting. And there are a couple of different ways to think about this and to consider this, because even though this is a
• 2:00
novel that I, that I heard this information from, it is true. I just hadn't thought about it the way that, in that part- in that particular language. So how is this world upside down? How is this reality inverted? How is what is good here bad in the spirit realm, and what is bad in the spirit realm is good here? And of course, these are very black and white terms. Things really are not black and white like that. Um, and you can even say that in the spirit realm, if you get into non-duality, that really nothing is good and bad and everything just is. Everything is an experience. But for our human experience, let's use these kind of elementary terms of good and bad, black and white, and, like, because that serves the purpose of this mirror of, of reality. So we can have things that happen to
• 3:00
us i- in a human life that seem like they're bad. They're things that we wouldn't choose. They're things that we, um, are... that we regret, that are... w- that cause us guilt or pain or hurt or shame. And everybody has these. Everybody has these. Whether you're going through them now or you've been through them before, you know how that works, and so it feels bad. It feels like it shouldn't, like something is wrong. But we know that from a soul perspective, we grow through our experiences, we grow through our challenges, and that from a spirit perspective, we, in fact, came here to experience those challenges
• 4:00
and to grow through those challenges. Well, when we are challenged in the human, things aren't comfortable. We don't say like, "Oh, I'm coasting through life and everything that I want turns to gold. You know, everything I touch turns to gold, and I have everything that I could possibly need, and it arrives before I even know I need it." That is not a challenging ex- experience, and you're not really growing as a soul when you're sailing through life. If we are here in the human form, and from the time we wake up until we go to bed, all we do is sit on the couch, and we consume TV or movies or social media, and we don't really actually get up off our butts and do anything. We don't interact.
• 5:00
We don't move our bodies. We don't experience. We're just here kind of taking up space. It might mean that we don't have a lot of challenges, maybe we escape the challenges, but we're not having a very fulfilled life. We're kind of in that, um, just that standstill. We're not really getting from life what we're here from, what we're here to get. But when we are engaging, we're out there in the world, we've got our hands in the dirt, we're having conversations. We might be having conflicts. We might be challenging people and making, uh, making ourselves feel uncomfortable. Through that discomfort, we are growing, we are learning, we are sharpening the blade of our
• 6:00
life through our experiences. And so we, we really get to know who we are through the experience of wading in the challenges and seeing how we respond. And when we respond or react in a way that doesn't feel good, then we learn. We learn from that. That- that's the idea. You learn. When you react, when, when something goes a certain way, you react, you respond, but then you learn whether that was a, a good way to do that or not for you. W- did it give you the result that you need? Did it give you... Are you, um, do you feel that you responded from a place that was good for your soul? Likewise, so that's when we experience quote unquote bad things in this realm,
• 7:00
and they're actually good for us from the spirit side. We're getting that chance to stretch ourselves, to grow, to practice some of the philosophy that maybe is only conceptual about how to treat people and how, um, you know, the role of compassion, the role of forgiveness, the role of, um, standing up for yourself. You know, those are great concepts, but if you never get a chance to practice them, then it's only a theory. You have to kind of put them into practice and utilize them and really see if that is within you. Do you have courage? Do you... Is courage important to you? You see it as an asset. You see it as a virtue. You see yourself as courageous. But you never really put yourself, you never are in the situation where you get to see if you're really courageous or not. If you have the opportunity to stand up for yourself or someone else, do
• 8:00
you? Well, if you're not engaging with life and you're never standing, getting the opportunity, or you don't even know really what it is that you value, so you never know what you need to stand up for You know, that's something to think about. So that's when we have the challenges on the earth, in our earth life, our human life, and then we have the, you know, it's actually feeding our soul. It's actually good for us in the spiritual realm. And then we have the opposite where something may look good here in our human life, but it is not serving us in the spiritual sense. And so this could be things that we think are important, but they're not. So fame, uh, being rich, being powerful, having
• 9:00
power over people. Those things, those are those typical traps of human life that most people have to learn that no amount of money is going to actually fulfill them. No amount of recognition, if they are empty inside, is going to fulfill them, is going to please them. They're... The more they get, the more they need because it's not... They're looking outside of themselves to fulfill something that cannot be filled from the outside. And because people might get a certain amount of power, money, attention, quote unquote love, sex, all of that, they may think that that is what has been missing in their life and if only they had that then they would feel complete.
• 10:00
And they keep getting more and more of it, but it's not filling the hole so they think they just haven't gotten enough yet, and they want more and more and more. And it's this trap, and it's... Their eye is on the wrong ball because what actually creates the sense of fulfillment is the self-love, the realization of the truth of who you are. So from that spiritual realm perspective, we have the, oh, these are the good things. These are the things that are gonna make me happy. They're gonna make me secure. They're gonna be fulfilling. But they're the things of money, power, um, riches, sex, attention, fame, that type of thing which are actually soul
• 11:00
traps. And it does, I don't want you to misunderstand and think, oh, money is bad, or, um, I, I need to, you know, not have a partner or whatever, you know. However we can twist things and try to make it very black and white and try to read into things that I'm not saying But it's that insatiable, uh, need for those things and the erroneous, um, the erroneous assumption or belief that they are going to be fulfilling in and of themselves. That fulfillment is going to come from understanding yourself, from accepting yourself, from loving yourself, from s- knowing yourself as a s- as a soul, from knowing the love of God, from
• 12:00
knowing that there is divinity and you are a part of it. That's where the true fulfillment comes from. And maybe the words that I'm saying you can feel that, but it's not something that I can give you. You can feel how it feels when I talk about that, the self-acceptance, the self-love, the understanding and accepting yourself as a child of God, the spiritual truth that you are eternal and you are a soul. You can feel within you, or you might be able to feel that, the, the how that fills you up. But it's really about you internalizing that at a really deep, deep level, and only you can do that for yourself. So
• 13:00
when we're too focused on that external of the things that society tells us will make us safe and secure, again, the riches, the attention, the sex, all of those things, the power. Those seem good in our human reality, but from a spirit side, those things are not it. So again, like, we can say they're bad just for, uh, the purposes of being black and white, but it's not that black and white. Those things are not necessarily evil in and of themselves, but it is not the real high truth They can have their own divinity to them, but they
• 14:00
are not in and of themselves, they are not ever going to be able to give you that fulfillment within you. And we have so many examples of... You probably have examples in your own life where you achieved something that you thought was gonna bring you fulfillment, and it was fleeting, and it fell into one of the categories of riches, power, sex, fame, attention. And it was very short-lived, if it even provided you a level of fulfillment at all. And so that is, I think, a very interesting way to think of, you know, what we're told and what we're taught, at least in Western society, about what is good, what i- what you should strive for, um, what we value, and from a spiritual perspective,
• 15:00
what actually that is, and tho- how those things don't match. It's like they're completely opposite of each other And then we live in this matrix. We live in this artificially constructed reality that is our society. It is the way that we understand reality. It is, again, like where do those thoughts come from about riches and, um, and fame and all of that? Like, you look at how Hollywood has been presented to us as though it's this glittering, um, glamorous place. And the deeper you look into that, it is filled with demons and black magic and all kinds of really dirty, low, disgusting things that have nothing to do with glamour
• 16:00
and glitter and, you know, having this amazing life. It's actually a cesspool. The same thing with the government. You know, we've... Maybe we've trusted the government our whole life, and then it's becoming more and more broadly accepted of just the level of corruption. And, you know, there have been whispers about the level of corruption in the government forever, but it's really coming to light now just how deep that corruption is, just how entrenched, um, and insidious it is, and, and on and on and on. You know, big industries, big, big industries that we rely on for our wellbeing in so many ways, for our nourishment, for our nutrients, for our, uh,
• 17:00
our health, all of those things that we have been told to trust. And the deeper you go into what's really happening, the more you can see that it's not. It's, it's often exactly the opposite of what we're led to believe it is. We're led to believe that to trust it because it's taking care of us and it wants to help us, and then we realize it's actively working against us. And you'll see this over and over and over, so many examples. And yet, even that is part of your soul- Experience and nourishment. Because if you think about why you came here, why would you
• 18:00
have chosen to come to a place where the illusion is so thick, where reality is so distorted, where the forgetfulness is so strong of the spiritual aspects of life, and we're so disconnected as a species, as a society from the spiritual truths. Why would we choose to live there if we are spirit beings? And there is actually a lot of soul nourishment in the remembrance of who you are, in the discovery of who you are, in the realization of the truth of your soul, the reality that is beyond this earthly experience. There's such, such soul food
• 19:00
there, such nourishment for your soul. And from a, from a soul perspective, when you have that level of forgetfulness and you still find your way back to remembering the truth, and you have this level of oppression a- as a soul, and you still choose love and compassion, and you still choose to bring God into your life and to honor your soul, and you still make that a priority, I mean, that is good stuff. That is, that is a chance to really become masterful at the soul level when you have this huge weight of illusion and you still choose to rise above it. And so that is really unique
• 20:00
and exceptional, and it's an amazing opportunity, and it doesn't mean it's easy. But just the same way as any Olympic athlete is only gonna become one of the very best through their training and through the stresses that, that it puts on its body and the, the choice to continue to engage That is what makes you sharp. That is what makes you strong. And so just by even watching content like this, you know, choosing of anything that you could be watching, that you're choosing something that speaks to your soul, that says a lot about you and how you're engaging in this life. And so You're, you're doing it. You're doing it, and doesn't mean it's easy. But take some time
• 21:00
