- 0:00How easy it is and how comforting to look at someone
- 0:05who opposes us, or who is creating some form of havoc in
- 0:10the world at large and simply label that individual as pure
- 0:15evil, as a rakshesa, an asura, a demon, or some other form of
- 0:23hostile being. And yet those individuals are
- 0:28actually part of the creation and apparently have some role to
- 0:32play, even if that role appears to be highly destructive.
- 0:39In the economy of the Universal Manifestation, there are forces
- 0:43that create and build, but also forces that tear apart and
- 0:48destroy. In some cases, stagnation and
- 0:52past fixed formations actually need to be removed in order for
- 0:57progress to occur, and these destructive forces are tasked
- 1:02with the role of breaking down the fixed confining habits of
- 1:05the past. There seem to be limits to each
- 1:09of them. In a non dual universe, even the
- 1:14adverse powers must contain a spark of the divine presence.
- 1:19The ancient Chinese symbol of Yin Yang attempts to describe
- 1:23graphically this interconnection and the deeper harmony that is
- 1:29implied. The ancient stories embodied in
- 1:33the piranhas in India frequently tell tales of demonic beings who
- 1:38seem to stride across the world and seem invincible.
- 1:42In many cases they are said to have received special boons from
- 1:46the Creator as a result of austerities they have
- 1:50undertaken, and for a time they seemed to be unconquerable.
- 1:57It should be noted that in each case they appear to have
- 2:00requested immortality, but the Creator denied but allowed them
- 2:06to determine the cause of their eventual death.
- 2:10They were sometimes quite creative in finding ways to
- 2:13exclude virtually every form of death, and yet eventually death
- 2:19came to them in the form they either failed to omit or which
- 2:23met all the conditions they had set.
- 2:27In the end, the reign of Terror was ended and the world moved on
- 2:32in its development. In a number of these cases, the
- 2:36gods and the rishis prayed to the Supreme to solve the issue
- 2:41and were told that it would be taken care of when the sins of
- 2:45the offending party had reached a state of fullness, indicating
- 2:50that somehow the atrocities were part of the action sanctioned by
- 2:54the Supreme for a time, for whatever larger universal
- 2:58purpose may have been under way, but not forever.
- 3:04From our human standpoint, acknowledgement of these
- 3:07uncomfortable facts is difficult, if not impossible.
- 3:12Yet if we shift to a wider viewpoint and look through the
- 3:16lens of history and time, we can see that along with all the
- 3:21destruction and harm caused, there is a removal of past
- 3:25limits and elements that could hold back progress, and there is
- 3:29a countervailing force that arises, grows, and eventually
- 3:34ends the disaster. In that form, that newly arisen
- 3:39countervailing power continues to exert its positive influence
- 3:42and helps the world progress. It is almost as if the universal
- 3:47method is to raise up unacceptable forces in order to
- 3:52provoke a new level of progress to come into existence.
- 3:56It is generally true that unchallenged, we do not tend to
- 4:01strive or grow as fast or as far as when obstacles are placed in
- 4:06our path. In some cases, this leads to the
- 4:10development of individuals who take on the role of leaders of
- 4:13the evolutionary development, who see the opposition, who
- 4:18understand its role and its limitations, and who help guide
- 4:23humanity to the next stage of its growth while confronting and
- 4:27overcoming these adverse forces. For those who have to live
- 4:33through such times and events, the circumstances are
- 4:36excruciatingly painful and much suffering occurs.
- 4:41These are not all human caused events, however, although
- 4:45nowadays human actions may actually contribute to what
- 4:48formerly were purely natural catastrophes.
- 4:53Volcanoes, cyclones, tornadoes, droughts, floods, wildfires,
- 5:00heat waves and deep freeze periods, as well as the
- 5:04potential for meteorite strikes represent forces outside human
- 5:10control that create tremendous destruction and suffering when
- 5:14they occur. In the end, something new arises
- 5:19to replace what was destroyed, the mother notes quote.
- 5:26And this presence becomes quite obvious in the human being.
- 5:30Even the most rudimentary, even in the most monstrous human
- 5:34being, in one who gives the impression of being an
- 5:37incarnation of a devil or a monster, there is something
- 5:42within exercising a sort of irresistible control.
- 5:47Even in the worst, some things are impossible.
- 5:52And without this presence, if the being were controlled
- 5:55exclusively by the adverse forces, the forces of the vital,
- 6:01this impossibility would not exist.
- 6:04Each time a wave of these monstrous adverse forces sweeps
- 6:08over the earth, one feels that nothing can ever stop the
- 6:13disorder and horror from spreading.
- 6:16And always, at a certain time, unexpectedly and inexplicably, a
- 6:23control intervenes and the wave is arrested.
- 6:27The catastrophe is not total. And this is because of the
- 6:32presence, the supreme Presence in matter.
- 6:37But only in a few exceptional beings, and after a long, very
- 6:42long work of preparation extending over many, many lives,
- 6:46does this presence change into a conscious, independent, fully
- 6:51organized being, all powerful master of his dwelling place.
- 6:56Conscious enough, powerful enough to be able to control not
- 7:01only this dwelling, but what surrounds it, and in a field of
- 7:05radiation and action that is more and more extensive and
- 7:10effective. End Quote reference.
