- 0:48Speaker 3: What is going on?
- 0:49Speaker 1: We're doing Gross Point Gardens Society today, a fabulous show
- 0:53Speaker 1: on NBC which we Megan Grano and I are poised
- 0:57Speaker 1: to talk about, and we're doing it every other week
- 1:01Speaker 1: because Survivor is in my life now and listen, I'm
- 1:04Speaker 1: gonna be recapping that every other week, so we're gonna
- 1:06Speaker 1: switch on and off. So today we're gonna talk about
- 1:08Speaker 1: the last two episodes of gross Point Garden Society because
- 1:11Speaker 1: Meghan and I are both from gross Point in coming
- 1:15Speaker 1: in hot. Megan Grano is here, Megs, how.
- 1:18Speaker 3: You doing Hello, I'm so happy to be back recapping
- 1:21Speaker 3: this awesome show and talking about my home Tizzy gross Point.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah, Baby, I like, look at the background gardeners, you know,
- 1:34Speaker 1: the society ladies in the back, and I'm like, Megan,
- 1:38Speaker 1: and I need to be like not even like maybe
- 1:40Speaker 1: just get a line or two, like a couple of
- 1:42Speaker 1: lines where or the other thing. I had an idea
- 1:45Speaker 1: of where, I mean, I got to pitch this to Brett,
- 1:48Speaker 1: you know, you know, the two creators. I'm to do
- 1:52Speaker 1: us like a gross Point podcast where we're just you know,
- 1:56Speaker 1: sitting there talking like, oh my god, gross Point has
- 1:58Speaker 1: so much to offer and just like kind of make
- 2:00Speaker 1: a little bit of make fun of ourselves in that way.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And I'm like, just yes, so I'm casting ourselves. I'm
- 2:06Speaker 1: casting us on that show for next season as like
- 2:09Speaker 1: gross Point podcast.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yes. I think that's such a great vision to put
- 2:12Speaker 3: out there in a reality that needs to happen, because
- 2:16Speaker 3: it would make sense on the show, it really would.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Thank you very much. And so we're talking about a
- 2:21Speaker 1: couple of different things today now, and first and foremost, Megan,
- 2:26Speaker 1: I want to mention that our unofficial sponsor for today.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Is Twall, So major shout.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Out to Twall, and that is twelve T w al,
- 2:36Speaker 1: which is a modern take on of course, you know
- 2:39Speaker 1: what the Twall pattern is in life, which is a
- 2:42Speaker 1: very scenic pattern. That's a very old school design. It
- 2:46Speaker 1: could be on a pillow, it could be on a wallpaper,
- 2:48Speaker 1: it could be dolly, it could be anyway. It could
- 2:51Speaker 1: be an address.
- 2:52Speaker 3: But anyway.
- 2:54Speaker 1: A friend of mine, a friend of mine named Maggie Rlick,
- 3:00Speaker 1: has this amazing like female founded company. It is in
- 3:03Speaker 1: gross Point and I'll tell you what. I am blown
- 3:07Speaker 1: away that we are reconnected. She sent Meghan and I
- 3:09Speaker 1: an unbelievable care package of stuff from her.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I could not I mean I could not get over
- 3:15Speaker 3: how thoughtful it was, how sweet, how unexpected it was,
- 3:19Speaker 3: Like I got I'm wearing this hat right now, which
- 3:21Speaker 3: I know everyone can't see, but it's of it overroade Patreon.
- 3:24Speaker 1: If you're watching on Patreon tier two subscribe, you can
- 3:27Speaker 1: see the hat.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Yes, yes, you could see the hat. And it's a
- 3:30Speaker 3: picture of the My Amy and I both went to
- 3:32Speaker 3: this high school, Gross Points South High School and it's
- 3:35Speaker 3: just so cute. I love it so much.
- 3:37Speaker 1: It is amazing and so and I am wearing one
- 3:41Speaker 1: of her hats.
- 3:41Speaker 3: That is a fish fly.
- 3:44Speaker 1: There is a f We believe it's a fish fly, right, Maggie,
- 3:48Speaker 1: Because I was like, is that a dragonfly? And then
- 3:51Speaker 1: Meghan's like, oh my god, I think it's a fish fly.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Which if you know, you know.
- 3:56Speaker 3: If you know, you know, that is one season in
- 3:58Speaker 3: Michigan you don't want to be there for in Gross Point,
- 4:01Speaker 3: I should say, right, you don't.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Oh no, welcome, right, because that you got to be
- 4:07Speaker 1: by a lake, you know, And it's like Lakes St.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Clair specifically. But yeah, it's like what cicadas are in
- 4:13Speaker 1: a way, but on a different level.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Yes, it's like locusts.
- 4:18Speaker 4: It's like a plague.
- 4:19Speaker 3: It's it's it's they just infiltrate and they they're on
- 4:23Speaker 3: your car, They're on the garage door, they're on the house,
- 4:25Speaker 3: they're every crack crop.
- 4:27Speaker 1: When you go bike ride with your family, you get
- 4:29Speaker 1: them in your eyes and your teeth. You know, it
- 4:32Speaker 1: is what it is. You know you live by the lake.
- 4:34Speaker 1: That's what happens every summer. And I have fond memories
- 4:37Speaker 1: of just going down Lake Shore and just the just
- 4:41Speaker 1: hitting the windshield. All of these screens at home, they
- 4:46Speaker 1: make their.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Way smell that'.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Oh wow, it is a tree. But I gotta tell you,
- 4:51Speaker 3: on your hat they look freaking adorable.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Anything looks great on a hat. You know, you put
- 4:56Speaker 1: a nice design to it, you animate it, and boom,
- 4:59Speaker 1: You're not looking at an enemy, You're looking at something
- 5:02Speaker 1: pretty chic. But I do want to do a little
- 5:05Speaker 1: bit of an unboxing because like she sent this amazing
- 5:10Speaker 1: water bottle which has all of these landmarks I believe
- 5:15Speaker 1: of a gross point or at least like gross points
- 5:17Speaker 1: south is on here, a wagon, a red wagon, a
- 5:20Speaker 1: clock which looks like a clock from like the village.
- 5:23Speaker 1: There is a freighter which tons.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Of freighters going through.
- 5:31Speaker 1: We have beach. We had a beach thing because you
- 5:33Speaker 1: know there's a beach over at the pier park. And
- 5:37Speaker 1: what else do we have here that represents oh yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 1: we got that four.
- 5:41Speaker 3: The oriel. Yeah, a good gland mark, thank you, thank you?
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah. I And then what is oh my gosh, wait,
- 5:51Speaker 1: is this like the water tower thing at the top
- 5:53Speaker 1: of marass like a morass and lake show?
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 5:56Speaker 1: Clock or is that something else? No, I think you're
- 6:00Speaker 1: bells right, huh. That one I'm not sure about.
- 6:04Speaker 3: And there was this.
- 6:06Speaker 4: I couldn't figured this one. Maybe you know it, but this.
- 6:12Speaker 1: It's like stacked up cat like they look like bunnies
- 6:16Speaker 1: or a sculpture, some sort of sculpture that I'm not
- 6:19Speaker 1: unfamiliar with. Maybe that's because we haven't lived there in
- 6:21Speaker 1: fifteen million years and we're not familiar with what that is.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I am from this lastic era.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Is that from Eastland? Is that from inside the mall?
- 6:31Speaker 3: And they had that? I always went to Eastland.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Ye how about that lion sculpture with the little gold
- 6:38Speaker 1: brass mouse on it?
- 6:40Speaker 3: That was awesome. Yeah, that was so cute. Mouse and
- 6:44Speaker 3: a lion can be friends.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Anyway. She has these loosight trays as well, which are
- 6:51Speaker 1: super cute. This one has a fish fly and then
- 6:53Speaker 1: and then again like the what you McCall it the
- 6:57Speaker 1: water bottle, a looseight tray with all of these landmarks.
- 7:00Speaker 1: So you know, you can check out twall. You could
- 7:03Speaker 1: actually go to their Instagram and follow it twall dot
- 7:07Speaker 1: shop and just follow them anywhere. And thank you so much.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I really appreciate you.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
- 7:14Speaker 3: The gifts are incredible and I am a huge fan
- 7:17Speaker 3: of women owned businesses and cute things that you can
- 7:20Speaker 3: give as gifts.
- 7:21Speaker 4: And I just want to say.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I feel like those loose sight trays first of all trades.
- 7:27Speaker 4: You can always use them when you're entertaining people.
- 7:29Speaker 3: And secondly, give me a thank you give me. I
- 7:33Speaker 3: do feel like this this merch should make an appearance
- 7:36Speaker 3: on the show. I really do. It's so gross point.
- 7:38Speaker 3: She captured it perfectly, she did, And so we need
- 7:42Speaker 3: to bring this to the people.
- 7:43Speaker 1: You know, the people who run this show. They're like,
- 7:46Speaker 1: they have no idea that we're even talking about this.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It's fine, we don't need it. We've got our own drama. Okay, drama. Well, listen,
- 7:55Speaker 1: we have a lot to discuss today because it's two episodes.
- 7:58Speaker 1: But first and foremost, I you know, I've been hesitating
- 8:01Speaker 1: to bring this little story up, but I think it
- 8:05Speaker 1: it deserves some attention from us to put this on
- 8:08Speaker 1: the map of our podcast, to draw the draw the
- 8:13Speaker 1: connection between the story and the character of Gary the
- 8:16Speaker 1: real estate agent, and one such similar story that happened
- 8:21Speaker 1: actually in gross Point on you know, a smaller scale,
- 8:26Speaker 1: if you will. This was in the news. So I
- 8:29Speaker 1: am not saying anything that hasn't already been put out there. However,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I'm not going to say the person's name for the
- 8:34Speaker 1: sake of being you know, just to protect my drama
- 8:38Speaker 1: Darling podcast. But there was a realtor that was accused
- 8:43Speaker 1: of having sex in clients' homes, and so this was
- 8:47Speaker 1: all over the news. And we're talking twenty seventeen that
- 8:50Speaker 1: this happened, so it's not that long ago. A major
- 8:54Speaker 1: breach of ethics, and he was accused of having sex
- 8:57Speaker 1: with a married woman in several homes that he had
- 8:59Speaker 1: listed for sale. So a complaint was fired with the
- 9:02Speaker 1: state against him by the woman's jilted husband, who now
- 9:07Speaker 1: believes the realtor got a sweetheart deal that has just
- 9:11Speaker 1: been made final. And that is that. I believe he
- 9:15Speaker 1: got kind of just a slap on the wrist and
- 9:18Speaker 1: he took a you know, a leave of absence for
- 9:21Speaker 1: a little while. But it's his business and his family's business,
- 9:26Speaker 1: his family's real estate business. So I guess not one
- 9:33Speaker 1: but six homes that he listed for sale for a line.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I mean, you know, he mine, You're living large, buddy.
- 9:45Speaker 3: So it's you know, art imitates life, they say, or
- 9:50Speaker 3: life imitates no. In this case, art imitates life, you know,
- 9:53Speaker 3: it's a good storyline. It's a good storyline. It is,
- 9:56Speaker 3: and you know, I guess these things happen. These things
- 10:00Speaker 3: do happen beautiful homes.
- 10:02Speaker 1: There was a woman who took this news reporter through
- 10:05Speaker 1: the house that she bought through this reel tour, and
- 10:07Speaker 1: in the second floor bedroom, she said there was a
- 10:09Speaker 1: carpet that she has since removed that was in the
- 10:12Speaker 1: house with mysterious stains. Oh, I mean, I gotta be honest, though,
- 10:19Speaker 1: that could have been from anything. I mean, it could
- 10:22Speaker 1: have necessarily been from them.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I mean, but she.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Was like, I am thoroughly disgusted, I'm appalled, and I
- 10:30Speaker 1: just I just love that quote in this article. And
- 10:34Speaker 1: he said that the stains were from foot traffic from
- 10:37Speaker 1: people looking at the home. But yeah, you know, I mean,
- 10:40Speaker 1: now that I'm thinking about, it's probably from them.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Either way. Man.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Wow, it's a nine Yes, a nine member Michigan board
- 10:54Speaker 1: board of real estate Brokers and Salespersons approved a stipulated
- 10:57Speaker 1: agreement for a one month suspension, but no one would
- 11:00Speaker 1: discuss the terms. And uh. And then the woman who
- 11:05Speaker 1: had the affair with this man is in the sixth
- 11:08Speaker 1: gross point who had the affair with him in the
- 11:11Speaker 1: Six Homes is now divorced.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yes, of course, well that makes sense.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Okay, okay, I mean, you know, I look, that's that's
- 11:24Speaker 1: really gross.
- 11:25Speaker 3: But let's be honest, it's really gross point. Okay, it's
- 11:31Speaker 3: really gross.
- 11:33Speaker 1: As to quote Bertie in the actual episode that said,
- 11:36Speaker 1: you know, well, it's perfect because rich women are gross,
- 11:40Speaker 1: to which Catherine had to, you know, check her on
- 11:42Speaker 1: the actual meaning of gross and which it's that it's
- 11:47Speaker 1: a what did she say was.
- 11:50Speaker 3: A grand point? Yes, a grand point. And I always
- 11:53Speaker 3: thought it was I thought it was wide. I thought
- 11:55Speaker 3: gross from my Frenchman wide or large, and I and
- 11:59Speaker 3: I thought that it was in direct contrast to destois,
- 12:03Speaker 3: which means narrow, narrow destois. So I was like, oh,
- 12:08Speaker 3: you have destois and then you have gross. Yeah over here, Wow,
- 12:13Speaker 3: that's so good.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I love when you speak French. I actually thought it
- 12:17Speaker 1: meant baby got back. So I just assumed, you know,
- 12:21Speaker 1: which is what I thought everybody thought, right, But you know,
- 12:25Speaker 1: that's why we all walk around gross Point with our
- 12:27Speaker 1: tails in the air like we just don't care.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Why.
- 12:31Speaker 1: That's why we get into these houses, you know, and
- 12:34Speaker 1: have affairs. But I will say that like, you know,
- 12:37Speaker 1: that wasn't the first time and it won't be the
- 12:39Speaker 1: last time that these realtors. I mean, can you imagine
- 12:42Speaker 1: what happens in La? Can you imagine with these and
- 12:45Speaker 1: I'm talking like La, you know, I'm talking like in
- 12:50Speaker 1: the Hills, you know, when you get these like just
- 12:53Speaker 1: the sluttiest realtors one whatever lay their eyes upon.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Oh, it must be it just must be insanity.
- 13:08Speaker 1: That being said, now that we put that aside, Marilyn,
- 13:11Speaker 1: whoo does she like to boss Donna around over in
- 13:14Speaker 1: that garden in the garden Society? And I love how
- 13:17Speaker 1: she's just like, get over to get those marigolds, Danna. Immediately,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I love that character. She's great.
- 13:25Speaker 3: She is great. She is from I want to say,
- 13:28Speaker 3: Eastbound in Down.
- 13:29Speaker 4: I saw her in that.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I loved her in. But she is just talk about
- 13:33Speaker 3: blooming as a flower as an actress. I just love
- 13:36Speaker 3: her in this part.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I love her. And you know what, Megan, after seeing
- 13:40Speaker 1: now we've seen three episodes of this, I am very
- 13:43Speaker 1: attached to the characters. I am very attached to the
- 13:47Speaker 1: process of and the journey of how they're creating the show.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I think it's so well done. It is very Desperate Housewives,
- 13:54Speaker 1: but in a modernized way. I mean, it's definitely evolved
- 13:59Speaker 1: since then, and I think that the storytelling it's just
- 14:01Speaker 1: chock full. I absolutely think that they're killing it, and
- 14:04Speaker 1: I really hope that they continue to make the show
- 14:06Speaker 1: because I think they're doing a great job.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it. I love that we're bouncing around
- 14:11Speaker 3: between six months forward and then the past, because each
- 14:15Speaker 3: moves forward in each episode, like you learn a little
- 14:18Speaker 3: bit more about the day of the murder each episode,
- 14:21Speaker 3: and it's getting me more and more hooked on.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yes, what happened. I was so glad that I got
- 14:28Speaker 1: to watch two episodes in a row because they had
- 14:31Speaker 1: a real major cliffhanger last week. So yeah, I was
- 14:35Speaker 1: so happy last night when I watched him both. So
- 14:37Speaker 1: I'm glad that we're going to do this every other
- 14:38Speaker 1: week because I can't sometimes I just can't take it
- 14:41Speaker 1: just too. We're so used to binging stuff now, yes, yes.
- 14:45Speaker 3: We're used to binging. We're used to if you have
- 14:48Speaker 3: a cliffhanger, you just roll into the next episode. And
- 14:51Speaker 3: I made the mistake. I watched the first one not
- 14:53Speaker 3: you know, I couldn't. I'm like, wait, the third episode
- 14:57Speaker 3: ends with here's Brett. He's in the store. He's in
- 15:00Speaker 3: a police officer shows up. This is in the future,
- 15:02Speaker 3: you know, word the night of them or the day
- 15:04Speaker 3: after the murder, and the police officer shows up and says,
- 15:07Speaker 3: do you know someone by the name of.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Nothing? We get nothing nothing. But I was like, how
- 15:17Speaker 1: dare you do that to us? Gross point? How dare
- 15:21Speaker 1: police officer? Sergeant?
- 15:24Speaker 3: I can't live with that tension.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I can't. I have enough tension in my life. Somebody
- 15:28Speaker 1: did message me and told me what that gp DS
- 15:32Speaker 1: sid bar, but.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I strang shoted it so long ago.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Now I don't know what it is, but I will
- 15:36Speaker 1: say that the S stood for sergeant. Oh okay, okay,
- 15:40Speaker 1: So just so we're on the same page.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Then I'm so glad. I'm so glad to know that
- 15:44Speaker 3: because it did. I'm still going to say it looked
- 15:46Speaker 3: like a priest collar.
- 15:46Speaker 1: To it does, and I mean they love you know,
- 15:49Speaker 1: amandarin collar. It just is always going to throw you off.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I am zigging and zagging with this show so much
- 15:56Speaker 1: because the way that they keep moving these pieces around.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Just like you said, with the cliffhanger, we were like, well,
- 16:01Speaker 1: who was he gonna say is missing? And we found
- 16:04Speaker 1: out finally what was that pretty much the end of
- 16:07Speaker 1: this episode that it was Doug.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Doug, Yes, Alice's husband, Doug, who I have come to
- 16:16Speaker 3: like more and more as a character. At the beginning,
- 16:18Speaker 3: I couldn't get much of a read on him, and
- 16:22Speaker 3: as we've gotten further into these episodes, I love his art.
- 16:26Speaker 3: I love the paintings that we see of his they're
- 16:29Speaker 3: all alish. I love him now. I love his art.
- 16:34Speaker 1: He has gotten hotter and hotter with each episode. The
- 16:38Speaker 1: this like the last two, I was like, uh, bro
- 16:42Speaker 1: has fire inside of him and I am here for it.
- 16:44Speaker 1: My friend, Like, I was very excited because I'm like,
- 16:47Speaker 1: how was he not as attractive for the first episode.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Then all of a sudden he just got really hot.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I don't know how that happened, but it didn't know either.
- 16:55Speaker 3: He got fiery. He had this scene with Brett where
- 16:59Speaker 3: they were having like a friendly scene, which is exactly
- 17:01Speaker 3: how I overlooked him as a character. The first time
- 17:03Speaker 3: they're in the garden, I think they're in the Garden
- 17:05Speaker 3: center and it's like, oh, yeah, here's the things you
- 17:07Speaker 3: asked for. Okay, great transaction. And then Brett can't help
- 17:11Speaker 3: himself but add one more line like, you know, I think.
- 17:13Speaker 4: You're screwing things up with Alice here.
- 17:16Speaker 3: And then Doug just turns around, digs in, and I
- 17:19Speaker 3: saw his tube pop out, and I'm like.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Oh, I like him, hello ob duh. Well, I think
- 17:28Speaker 1: he's got really good range because he is keeping us
- 17:31Speaker 1: on his toes for the last three episodes. He came
- 17:35Speaker 1: in like a lamb, and now we're ushering him in
- 17:39Speaker 1: into the next phase of this as a lion, and
- 17:41Speaker 1: that just was very unexpected. And we're also like, wait,
- 17:45Speaker 1: is he was he killed? Did he kill?
- 17:48Speaker 3: Wait? What is he up to? Now?
- 17:49Speaker 1: He's asking for is he a bad guy? And that's
- 17:52Speaker 1: why they took care did he kill this dog? You know,
- 17:55Speaker 1: we are all over the map with him.
- 17:57Speaker 3: We don't know, And he went right he went running
- 18:01Speaker 3: an episode four, we're very clear that he went running
- 18:04Speaker 3: and he has a new balanced shoe on. So I
- 18:09Speaker 3: feel like they're trying to trick us. But it's only
- 18:11Speaker 3: episode four, so why would they be telling us all
- 18:13Speaker 3: that in episode four?
- 18:14Speaker 4: I mean, I am confounded confound me.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yes, I agree, and so now it takes me to like, oh, okay, well,
- 18:23Speaker 1: they took his shoes off and they put him on
- 18:25Speaker 1: someone else, or you know, like, what what is happening here?
- 18:30Speaker 1: Because I yeah, quite frankly, I mean it is a
- 18:32Speaker 1: who does happened? And it is it is also like
- 18:35Speaker 1: a who who got buried? But you know at this
- 18:38Speaker 1: point when you know they're painting the picture, like oh,
- 18:41Speaker 1: Gary's gone. Gary's been gone for a few days now.
- 18:45Speaker 1: And his wife shows up to Catherine and she's like,
- 18:49Speaker 1: I'm really sorry, it's just it's over. And she's like,
- 18:53Speaker 1: not that now, hon, it's not that, hon, He's gone
- 18:57Speaker 1: all right.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Yeah, She's like, I don't even want to have this
- 19:00Speaker 4: out with you.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I want to talk about a missing person who belongs
- 19:03Speaker 3: on a milk curton, right bye bye, a really bad husband.
- 19:09Speaker 1: So if you don't find him.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Well be okay sorry, so true, so true? Like that,
- 19:17Speaker 3: Why are you that worried?
- 19:18Speaker 4: I guess because you're pregnant.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 1: No, you don't want to go through this by yourself.
- 19:22Speaker 1: It's too much, I.
- 19:24Speaker 4: Do want to say.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Catherine in these in episode four in particular, it's like
- 19:29Speaker 3: the women at this gross point.
- 19:32Speaker 4: It's called the Morning.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Side Preparatory School. I believe it's like this private school
- 19:38Speaker 3: that her kids apparently go to. And she's besides being
- 19:41Speaker 3: in the Garden Society, she's also on the Bitchiest Pta
- 19:46Speaker 3: or whatever they are.
- 19:47Speaker 1: You get one bitch, yeah, if you got one bitch
- 19:50Speaker 1: in that room, you got about two dozen.
- 19:52Speaker 3: I mean line them up and one bitch out bitch
- 19:55Speaker 3: is the other.
- 19:55Speaker 1: And it is just fantastic. Oh it is.
- 19:59Speaker 3: It is a total fantastic dream of bitches in there,
- 20:04Speaker 3: just a dream and they are all drilling shame her.
- 20:08Speaker 3: That's what you call a group of bitches. You call
- 20:10Speaker 3: them a dream of bitches, you know, like a crash
- 20:13Speaker 3: of rhinocess. Yeah, a dream of bitches. We've all had
- 20:17Speaker 3: a murder of crows. We have a dream of bitches.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Oh yes, okay, so carry on with that group. But
- 20:24Speaker 3: they're just you know, she's in there. Shit. They're trying
- 20:26Speaker 3: to make plans for yet another fundraiser. All these women
- 20:29Speaker 3: do is fundraise, and she's trying to talk about it,
- 20:32Speaker 3: and she notices all these women whispering about her, and
- 20:35Speaker 3: it turns into this thing. I mean, it's just too
- 20:37Speaker 3: much for her to bear. She loses her mind. The
- 20:40Speaker 3: woman Jillian, who.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Seems to be was perfection.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Oh so good, just a horrible part of that dream.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Yeah, the letter of the dream, the leader of the dreams,
- 20:54Speaker 1: her character. My god, that was incredible casting. I love her.
- 20:59Speaker 1: She did a great job.
- 21:00Speaker 3: She agreed, and she's asking Catherine to step down, and Catherine,
- 21:04Speaker 3: I just love the scene. And I think it's worth
- 21:06Speaker 3: talking about where she decides, you know what, I'm not
- 21:08Speaker 3: gonna step down from this volunteer position. Instead, I'm gonna
- 21:11Speaker 3: shame each one of you, bitches. And I love it.
- 21:16Speaker 3: I loved it.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Yeah. She walks out with her tail between her legs
- 21:20Speaker 1: because no one likes to be gossiped about. And so
- 21:22Speaker 1: she's just sitting here going I mean I could literally
- 21:24Speaker 1: see you talking about me, you know, so anybody would leave.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Then she you know, you got to dig deep and
- 21:32Speaker 1: let this be a lesson to all of us. He
- 21:34Speaker 1: who throws the first stone, you know, look out, look out,
- 21:38Speaker 1: because you know, glass houses, it's gonna come right back
- 21:42Speaker 1: at you. And so for her to come back and
- 21:44Speaker 1: just return serve on this dream of bitches, Yes, yeah, phenomenal.
- 21:50Speaker 1: And and that's what I love that because it gave
- 21:53Speaker 1: her so much power. Who are you to say you're perfect?
- 21:57Speaker 1: And cast judgment upon me for all I know, not
- 22:01Speaker 1: only do you all have your imperfections, but for all
- 22:04Speaker 1: I know, you were also sleeping with Gary Doo for sure.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure they I am sure they did.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I wish they did a callback to that. I love
- 22:14Speaker 3: what they brought up, though, and it felt very gross.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Point to me. She's like, haven't you shoplifted from Sephora
- 22:20Speaker 3: and don't you take your happy pills? Like yeah, I'm like,
- 22:24Speaker 3: oh yeah.
- 22:25Speaker 4: I couldn't see all of this.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Good way to go, Catherine.
- 22:28Speaker 1: If I was in that room and she was just
- 22:30Speaker 1: blindly saying this to everyone and waiting for that victim
- 22:34Speaker 1: or the perpetrator to stand up, I'd be like, oh me,
- 22:36Speaker 1: oh not me, me, I'm in all those categories.
- 22:41Speaker 3: We're cool. We're cool. I have no problem. You stay
- 22:46Speaker 3: in your job, you stay there. Yeah, we're totally cool.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I loved it.
- 22:51Speaker 1: That was such there's great writing on this show, great acting,
- 22:56Speaker 1: and Catherine, she's doing a I love her character. It's
- 23:00Speaker 1: definitely unfolded and and you see so clearly how perfect
- 23:03Speaker 1: these people are in their roles. Snatched to the Gods.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Bertie is phenomenal. I love her. I think she's now
- 23:12Speaker 1: we got past the pilot, you know, and now we're
- 23:14Speaker 1: really chucking, and it's just everyone.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Is so great, agreed, And I wanted to say I'm
- 23:20Speaker 3: backing up one second on Catherine that I want to
- 23:22Speaker 3: add in on Bertie. On Catherine, I see glimpses of
- 23:26Speaker 3: myself and her that make me sick about myself. There.
- 23:30Speaker 3: It's like there's like a scene where she's in a
- 23:33Speaker 3: closet just briefly organizing the hangars, and I was like, oh,
- 23:38Speaker 3: it's me, and she's she's like coloring with her daughter,
- 23:43Speaker 3: and her daughter colors out of the lines and she's like, oh,
- 23:47Speaker 3: looks like you colored out of the lines there, and
- 23:50Speaker 3: I'm like, oh god, I can back me too.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I think it's me.
- 23:54Speaker 3: It's horrible, so o CD, she's so o CD, But
- 23:57Speaker 3: I do I love her.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I love her crumpled up rawings in the hallway because
- 24:01Speaker 1: she can't get it right. Was so sad when the
- 24:05Speaker 1: rumor filtered down to her kid being like, oh, yeah, schools, Yeah,
- 24:11Speaker 1: I heard that you like Gary better than daddy, right.
- 24:14Speaker 3: I was like, oh jeezus, I'm real, just brutal, just brutal, Sorry,
- 24:21Speaker 3: but yes, yes, back to Bertie. I do love Bertie
- 24:25Speaker 3: and I love her going to Bloomfield Hills and getting
- 24:29Speaker 3: to see the Bloomfield Hills Garden Society like that was
- 24:32Speaker 3: a real treat in this show. She takes it upon
- 24:34Speaker 3: herself to go there and she's going to find out
- 24:38Speaker 3: some of their secrets, and I just love that she's
- 24:40Speaker 3: the type who will do that.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Yes, she's going to take one for the team of
- 24:43Speaker 1: the GP Garden Society. And I didn't really know what
- 24:47Speaker 1: she was up to. I wasn't sure, you know, when
- 24:49Speaker 1: she had this grand scheme. So for her to leave
- 24:52Speaker 1: there with that glass trophy was so great.
- 24:55Speaker 3: And then for her to take it to legally Blonde
- 25:00Speaker 3: and be like, can you dust for Prince, you know,
- 25:03Speaker 3: and he's like, dom down, Let's go to drinks, and
- 25:06Speaker 3: just their.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Whole journey is just so crazy to me. Then to
- 25:10Speaker 1: find out that her biological son his Prince. Wait, no,
- 25:14Speaker 1: his prints were on the Yes, his prints were on
- 25:17Speaker 1: the landscape drawing. So Bloomfield Hills did not take the drawings,
- 25:23Speaker 1: They did not cheat. And then she has to go
- 25:26Speaker 1: confront him. That scene was great. She was so frustrated.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I loved the acting in that scene. Me too, and
- 25:32Speaker 1: that the you know, the first rule of garden club
- 25:34Speaker 1: and they have her back and they just smashed that
- 25:36Speaker 1: right then and there that trophy.
- 25:37Speaker 3: It is it. So she's not going to get in trouble.
- 25:40Speaker 3: I love that. Yeah, they they're there to help her,
- 25:43Speaker 3: even though it wasn't a great choice. They're like, we're here,
- 25:46Speaker 3: We're not going to like we're doing this now. Let
- 25:48Speaker 3: me ask you this.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Alice and Doug in couples counseling and she's just basically
- 25:53Speaker 1: bringing it to the table for the first time. Did
- 25:55Speaker 1: you or did you not kill my dog? And then
- 25:58Speaker 1: put the bullet casing and gun on the ottoman.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I think this is a good time for us to stop.
- 26:09Speaker 3: He is.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Like, he is just emphatic that he didn't do it.
- 26:15Speaker 1: There's also evidence that the gate was open. Now she
- 26:18Speaker 1: is still second guessing him, and she goes to look
- 26:20Speaker 1: for the bullet again, and so what are we thinking.
- 26:23Speaker 4: I do not think Doug did this. I really don't.
- 26:28Speaker 4: I think they're setting us up to think.
- 26:30Speaker 1: That he did it. Okay, what do you think? I
- 26:34Speaker 1: keep going back and forth and now I don't think
- 26:36Speaker 1: that he did it.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it would be I mean it would be so
- 26:41Speaker 3: early to show us that he's the killer, don't you think,
- 26:45Speaker 3: I mean, anybody they're showing us right now? I'm like,
- 26:47Speaker 3: isn't it too early to I don't know, right unless
- 26:50Speaker 3: they know something if we don't know, but like only
- 26:54Speaker 3: have two more episodes to.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Kill a dog, I mean, it's got to be. It's
- 26:58Speaker 1: got to be one of the you know, from the
- 27:01Speaker 1: Dream of Bitches, Like it's got to be someone from
- 27:04Speaker 1: there that did it. Like maybe even Jillian. I don't know,
- 27:07Speaker 1: she's wound so tight she might just lose her mind. Whoever,
- 27:11Speaker 1: or whoever's on the pills, I don't know.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:15Speaker 1: So, now, now Doug has moved out after this whole
- 27:19Speaker 1: thing has happened, and then we see six months later
- 27:22Speaker 1: that they are back together again.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Right because they're going to go to the party together.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Right, And then of course they have that huge fight
- 27:30Speaker 1: there between Brett and Doug and we Land.
- 27:35Speaker 3: And it's over Alice over her. I mean, wow, wow, primal.
- 27:43Speaker 3: That really was primal. You know.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I have to keep going back to the fact that
- 27:46Speaker 1: it's like, you know, Doug was fine with just them
- 27:50Speaker 1: hanging out all the time, Like I.
- 27:52Speaker 3: You know, I just can't get over that.
- 27:55Speaker 1: And then the the funniest part was like he obviously
- 27:58Speaker 1: had feelings with he knew we had feelings for her,
- 28:01Speaker 1: and so.
- 28:02Speaker 3: When she was like, I mean, what is he talking about?
- 28:05Speaker 3: You're a brother, Like you're basically disgusting. I mean, you know,
- 28:09Speaker 3: he just like walks away all side. He's just Charlie crowning.
- 28:12Speaker 3: So sad. Oh it was. It was so hard having
- 28:15Speaker 3: the context of the scene. I think it was in
- 28:16Speaker 3: episode two where his ex wife is like, of course
- 28:19Speaker 3: we had to get divorced. You're in love with Alice,
- 28:22Speaker 3: Like she sees that Alice doesn't see it at all,
- 28:25Speaker 3: and then makes him feel so bad about himself.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I don't know how she figured out that that what
- 28:32Speaker 1: she did really hurt him, but she did. And then
- 28:33Speaker 1: she went to go bring him something and then he's
- 28:35Speaker 1: got a girl there. He opens the door with like
- 28:37Speaker 1: his shirt unbuttoned.
- 28:38Speaker 3: I'm like, who opens the door? Like you know, I'm
- 28:43Speaker 3: a woman who's.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Over the woman who's over Like, hey, can I smoke weed?
- 28:46Speaker 3: In hear? I'm like, whoa, yeah, can I.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Take more of my pants off? For total strangers and
- 28:52Speaker 1: just let like just lean here.
- 28:55Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 28:57Speaker 1: It was all great speaking of I wasn't sure what
- 29:02Speaker 1: was going on with Catherine and her husband. At first
- 29:05Speaker 1: I had to rewind it because I was like, wait,
- 29:08Speaker 1: did he just admit he did admit or was he bluffing?
- 29:11Speaker 3: So he did admit that he was in love with
- 29:13Speaker 3: someone else too. I rewatched that as well, and I
- 29:17Speaker 3: thank you. Point was that he was in love with her.
- 29:21Speaker 1: That's what I looked, That's what I thought, and then
- 29:22Speaker 1: I rewound it. But then it did sound like you did.
- 29:28Speaker 4: Yes, I couldn't make I think maybe there was someone
- 29:32Speaker 4: else with for him.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Maybe I got to.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Say, uh, writers, you know we can't. We can't jump
- 29:39Speaker 1: through hoops. You know you got us going. You've got
- 29:41Speaker 1: us going on timelines, you know, forward and back, not
- 29:45Speaker 1: even back and forward. You know that's already a reach
- 29:48Speaker 1: for us. You know, we're we're regular people who watch
- 29:51Speaker 1: a lot of shows. We're on TikTok a good time,
- 29:54Speaker 1: that's right.
- 29:55Speaker 3: We got regular thumbs, we scroll, we know how to
- 29:58Speaker 3: hit forward and backwards.
- 30:00Speaker 1: But well, you're gonna need to spell a couple more
- 30:03Speaker 1: things out for us, because that was not laid out clearly.
- 30:06Speaker 3: It was not. I was literally like I went backwards.
- 30:12Speaker 3: So I'm so glad it wasn't the only one.
- 30:14Speaker 1: I landed on the fact that he really did love somebody.
- 30:19Speaker 4: I think that's right.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Okay, I think that's right.
- 30:23Speaker 3: You know. The thing is, he was so disengaged for
- 30:27Speaker 3: the first few episodes, so it just feels like that's right.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Yeah, but I you know, we go down this road.
- 30:33Speaker 3: She goes to his office, she's going through all of
- 30:36Speaker 3: his things. There's nothing to find on the guy, and
- 30:38Speaker 3: you're thinking, hey, he's he's just a nice guy who
- 30:41Speaker 3: I love. He says, let's just jump to the point
- 30:43Speaker 3: where we both try harder, which I was like, Wow,
- 30:46Speaker 3: he's so mature. Yeah, he's so thoughtful, he's evolved all
- 30:50Speaker 3: these things. I'm like, oh, maybe that's true. But then
- 30:52Speaker 3: when Gary gets thrown into that car at the end,
- 30:55Speaker 3: Gary the realtor, I'm like, oh, I do have to
- 30:58Speaker 3: wonder if he's behind that. I sort of do.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Oh my god, you mean that the teaser for next week?
- 31:07Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, Like, what's his name, I'm Catherine's husband, Tucker? Tucker?
- 31:11Speaker 3: Tucker is Tucker? Is Tucker really the one who who
- 31:15Speaker 3: although he's pretending that he's totally cool with everything, did
- 31:18Speaker 3: he actually orchestrate Gary's kidnapping. I don't know. Maybe is
- 31:22Speaker 3: he really that nicing?
- 31:24Speaker 1: You are so right, Oh, I'm really here for this, Yes,
- 31:28Speaker 1: because you can't just, you know, grab rack of lamb
- 31:32Speaker 1: over at the village market for no good reason for
- 31:35Speaker 1: just two people. Wasn't that what he was making?
- 31:38Speaker 3: Yes?
- 31:39Speaker 1: I mean yes, expensive dinner for too expensive and a
- 31:45Speaker 1: lot of preparation, right mom, I mean.
- 31:49Speaker 3: She know, yeah, your moms.
- 31:52Speaker 4: I yes, I don't know. I don't eat lamb, but
- 31:54Speaker 4: it's funny. I was just talking about.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Lamb was something that we occasionally were served as kids,
- 31:59Speaker 3: my brother and I, and we hated it. It was
- 32:02Speaker 3: something that had a taste that I don't know. I
- 32:04Speaker 3: never could get into lamb as a too lammy, too lamby.
- 32:09Speaker 3: I just got to get it.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Are you a Lamb fan?
- 32:11Speaker 1: Are you a you know what? I am a Lamb
- 32:15Speaker 1: fan and my mom makes a great rack of Liamb.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I am not afraid of limb. I've had it many
- 32:23Speaker 1: times on Easter and such, and I am not afraid
- 32:26Speaker 1: of it. And I'm sorry to all of you who
- 32:28Speaker 1: are vegetarians, pescytarians, vegan and such, and I ain't just apologize,
- 32:33Speaker 1: but I am a fan. On that note, let's take

- 36:45Speaker 3: We are back.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Megan Grano and I are speaking about the last two
- 36:49Speaker 1: episodes of Gross Point Garden Society.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Okay, so we've now.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Megan has laid out a theory about the reason why
- 36:57Speaker 1: Tucker is so at ease with finding out about Catherine's
- 37:01Speaker 1: affairs because he's taken matters into his own hands and
- 37:05Speaker 1: served up a little like revenge on a rack of
- 37:09Speaker 1: lamb platter, if you will to.
- 37:12Speaker 3: Get I sure will. That is a good platter to serve. Now,
- 37:16Speaker 3: what if what if.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Tucker and Gary's wife sorry, don't know her name. Oh
- 37:27Speaker 1: what if they had a little something happening there she's
- 37:31Speaker 1: pregnant with his child? Oh my goodness, it would be
- 37:37Speaker 1: it would be really advantageous of them to throw that
- 37:41Speaker 1: in there, because that just feels like something they would
- 37:44Speaker 1: do on this show, you know, just like whipping around
- 37:47Speaker 1: throwing people together.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Yes, Oh my gosh, yes, different parents all, they're all
- 37:56Speaker 3: one big family. Yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Oh, by the way, not to skip. So you're wait,
- 38:01Speaker 1: you're down with that theory? I mean I don't.
- 38:03Speaker 3: I love that theory, love it. I had not thought
- 38:06Speaker 3: of that at all. And now it's my new top. Yeah.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Well, I've got this fish fly had on, and I
- 38:12Speaker 1: think it's given us some superpowers. And you've got your
- 38:14Speaker 1: gross myself hat on. So on that note, I was
- 38:19Speaker 1: going to mention that, Oh darn it, what was I
- 38:23Speaker 1: going to mention?
- 38:24Speaker 3: Were you going to talk about the dad and ford
- 38:27Speaker 3: it all? The stepdad?
- 38:29Speaker 1: Oh? I was gonna be Yeah, I was going to
- 38:31Speaker 1: talk about Birdie's biological son and taking him to the
- 38:35Speaker 1: hospital with the bee allergy.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Is that what you were saying?
- 38:39Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, because what is the son's name?
- 38:42Speaker 3: Uh? Ford?
- 38:43Speaker 1: Okay, thank you, so thank you. You got it Ford.
- 38:46Speaker 3: And then now we found out what that story is,
- 38:49Speaker 3: I mean half of it, half of it. So the
- 38:53Speaker 3: story that so at least, here's what I'm getting, And
- 38:55Speaker 3: I need to fact check this with you, Amy Phillips.
- 38:59Speaker 3: Are you you getting that Bertie and Officer Joel were
- 39:04Speaker 3: the actual parents of Ford? Uh, Bertie got pregnant in
- 39:14Speaker 3: high school from that officer.
- 39:16Speaker 1: From legally Blond.
- 39:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, legally Blonde. Is that who got her pregnant?
- 39:21Speaker 3: Oh?
- 39:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought that we had already figured that out.
- 39:23Speaker 3: We know that, yes, we know that, we do so
- 39:27Speaker 3: that that's their child. But then there was just this
- 39:30Speaker 3: stuff they had to unpack in the episode where it's
- 39:32Speaker 3: like you're my stepdad. Oh you're not my dad, And
- 39:37Speaker 3: I was like, wait, right, I thought he is the dad, right,
- 39:40Speaker 3: but but the adopted mom doesn't know that.
- 39:43Speaker 4: That's what I'm taking at this.
- 39:45Speaker 1: That's okay, all right, Yes, that's what I'm taking too.
- 39:48Speaker 1: But you know what, I confirmed that he was the father,
- 39:54Speaker 1: the biological father with Bertie, But I actually don't think
- 39:58Speaker 1: that we've gotten that confirmation yet. I just made that assumption.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I made the assumption that they were together in high school,
- 40:07Speaker 1: that she got pregnant, she gave the baby up for adoption,
- 40:12Speaker 1: and then they somehow ended up adopting the child, and
- 40:16Speaker 1: then they have reunited and continued on their romance. But okay,
- 40:21Speaker 1: but now that you're saying that, now, I don't know
- 40:24Speaker 1: based on what he said. So, but I definitely can
- 40:26Speaker 1: say that the mother adopted Ford before she got with Joel.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Yes, Blonde, okay, yes, yes, I'm looking at my notes
- 40:40Speaker 3: right now, and yes, I confirm everything you just said.
- 40:43Speaker 1: So if that is in fact his biological son, she
- 40:47Speaker 1: certainly doesn't know it. Ford certainly doesn't know it, and
- 40:51Speaker 1: the only two people who do know are Birdie and
- 40:53Speaker 1: legally Blonde.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Yes, that's right, That's exactly right.
- 40:58Speaker 1: So how in the world did he managed to get
- 41:01Speaker 1: himself in that situation?
- 41:04Speaker 4: How did did he do it on purpose?
- 41:07Speaker 3: Does I love that woman? Right?
- 41:10Speaker 4: Is he the father of Gary's.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Wife, Gary's wife's baby baby? Right? I got anything. I
- 41:20Speaker 3: totally got you. I know exactly what you're saying. It's
- 41:24Speaker 3: really funny. A lot of unanswered you know, we are
- 41:29Speaker 3: on top of the mysteries that nobody's asking about. Nobody
- 41:33Speaker 3: wants to know, but we're on it.
- 41:35Speaker 1: That's right. I think there's a little sweetie that's crawling
- 41:40Speaker 1: around here. Hold on one second, I'm gonna pause this. Okay, Yeah,
- 41:44Speaker 1: Now I'm a working ma'am. You know, in Maddy's hoone
- 41:47Speaker 1: from school and that's when we're recording anyway, Megan, Okay,
- 41:49Speaker 1: so back over to our episodes. Yes, you had some
- 41:52Speaker 1: thoughts about something funny.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I just wanted to comment. I had to comment
- 41:58Speaker 3: on the charity may I loved him the charity names.
- 42:02Speaker 3: When Birdie goes to the Bloomfield Hills Garden Society, they
- 42:06Speaker 3: get into this sort of back and forth about which
- 42:09Speaker 3: charities they're involved with, and they dropped just some gems
- 42:12Speaker 3: I'm gonna highlight here, so pretty normal. The Detroit Food Foundation,
- 42:17Speaker 3: which I was like, oh okay, I like that. Then
- 42:19Speaker 3: Street Girls Fight Back, which just killed me. Then Bark
- 42:26Speaker 3: Bark for Bones that one really got. That's Bark for Bones.
- 42:29Speaker 3: That was great, and the one that was accused of fraud.
- 42:33Speaker 3: That I loved was Children of Cabo, Jill Cabo.
- 42:37Speaker 1: That was so awesome, It's so fun. They nailed it,
- 42:41Speaker 1: They absolutely nailed it. Can we talk about when Doug
- 42:48Speaker 1: when he was leaving for the party, when he was
- 42:51Speaker 1: supposed to be getting ready for the party, after he
- 42:53Speaker 1: went for a jog, then he brings in the mail.
- 42:55Speaker 1: He opens up this envelope, he sees what he sees.
- 43:00Speaker 1: That was obviously a quite the cliffhanger as well, And
- 43:04Speaker 1: we found out later that it was a job from
- 43:09Speaker 1: New York that Alice was hearing back about. But she
- 43:12Speaker 1: didn't apply for that for her. Brett did.
- 43:18Speaker 3: So that, which is interesting. It's like, on the one hand,
- 43:20Speaker 3: he believes in her talent so much that he applied
- 43:23Speaker 3: for this job for her.
- 43:23Speaker 4: On the other, I.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Don't know how I feel about someone applying for a
- 43:28Speaker 3: job for someone else.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 43:30Speaker 3: I don't know about that.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Also, like, if he loves her, why is he going
- 43:38Speaker 1: to send her to New York? I mean, yeah, it's
- 43:41Speaker 1: a little confusing whatever. Anyway, the point is Alice goes
- 43:47Speaker 1: and asks her mother in law for money because they
- 43:51Speaker 1: got evicted, and obviously she does it behind Doug's back.
- 43:55Speaker 1: And here's the other thing. She hangs up his paintings
- 43:58Speaker 1: in the local like Caribou call coffee or whatever, you know,
- 44:01Speaker 1: And she's like, He's like, well did they you know,
- 44:04Speaker 1: how are they doing? She's like, well enough to make
- 44:07Speaker 1: our rent.
- 44:08Speaker 3: I'm like, are you serious? Like, I highly doubt that.
- 44:11Speaker 3: I mean, it's great, but please, And then they're not
- 44:16Speaker 3: that good of pictures. And okay, Alice, even though they're
- 44:19Speaker 3: all of you, my goodness, we've all.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Seen pictures in coffee shops. They don't budge, that's.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Right, they stay there, they become fixtures.
- 44:30Speaker 1: But why is why is Doug constant? Why is he
- 44:35Speaker 1: blaming Alice for not having a job. Why is it
- 44:38Speaker 1: just landing on her and her mother in law too?
- 44:40Speaker 3: Why are they all like, well, Alice, if you would
- 44:43Speaker 3: just why if you would just get a job. It's like,
- 44:46Speaker 3: what is he doing?
- 44:46Speaker 4: I don't understand, Yeah, what is he doing?
- 44:49Speaker 3: He had been, you know, selling signs or commercial commercial
- 44:53Speaker 3: signs or something like that, and I don't know what
- 44:55Speaker 3: he's doing now.
- 44:56Speaker 1: So why is it that he's putting it on her?
- 44:58Speaker 1: I don't understand that.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Yeah, And I don't actually know what she is doing
- 45:03Speaker 3: with her free time right now, Megan, I beg your pardon.
- 45:08Speaker 1: She is trying to cover her tracks for murdering. How
- 45:12Speaker 1: dare you She is planting Marigold's in the wrong spot.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Yes, that's right, and not planting the petunias or whatever
- 45:23Speaker 3: it was that was supposed to go there.
- 45:27Speaker 1: My friend Lisa fuguer husband popped into the GP girl's thread. Actually, no,
- 45:35Speaker 1: you know what, she didn't even do it in the thread.
- 45:36Speaker 1: She didn't a side a separate text to me. This
- 45:39Speaker 1: was after the first episode. Do you know what her
- 45:42Speaker 1: theory was about? Is it Olga Bertie's.
- 45:48Speaker 3: That we haven't seen her in a while, the lady
- 45:50Speaker 3: who works at her house, Yeah, yeah, her housekeeper.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Her theory is that that is her biological mother and
- 45:58Speaker 1: Bertie doesn't actually know it.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Oh wow, that's Bertie's mother, so they all have children
- 46:07Speaker 3: out of wedlock. I love this and nobody knows right. Oh,
- 46:12Speaker 3: this is juicy. I love it good.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Yes crime episodes, you know, because she is a huge
- 46:20Speaker 1: true crime podcast listener, Like she's really into all that stuff.
- 46:23Speaker 1: I'm like, it is really paying off because I didn't
- 46:25Speaker 1: see that coming. Even though remember on the first episode,
- 46:28Speaker 1: we were like, is that our mom or is that
- 46:31Speaker 1: our housekeeper? Because I'm feeling this vibe makes sense.
- 46:34Speaker 3: Well, you know what, we need to do a DNA
- 46:37Speaker 3: roundup on this show. We need to do twenty three
- 46:41Speaker 3: in me or some sort of ancestry on these people,
- 46:45Speaker 3: because I have a feeling we'd turn up that they
- 46:47Speaker 3: are all related. Wow, there is a lot of sperm
- 46:52Speaker 3: and egg mixing between all these gross pointers.
- 46:55Speaker 4: And some might say that's true about gross points, so
- 46:59Speaker 4: they getting.
- 46:59Speaker 1: The mean I don't really like growing up there. I
- 47:03Speaker 1: don't really feel like it was that incestuous. I mean
- 47:05Speaker 1: incestuous in the sense that, like, you know, people would
- 47:08Speaker 1: date other people that their friends maybe dated, but not
- 47:12Speaker 1: in the sense that I don't know.
- 47:16Speaker 3: I think I think in the old days that's what
- 47:18Speaker 3: they dreamt it might be. Is this community of tight
- 47:22Speaker 3: knit people living on the water a very just a
- 47:25Speaker 3: tight knit community.
- 47:26Speaker 4: But I do think it's grown grown a lot past that.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it has too. Absolutely all right, Well
- 47:33Speaker 1: let's see. Oh, I did find the scene with Brett
- 47:36Speaker 1: letting his son go fly fishing with with Connor and
- 47:41Speaker 1: the family was a beautiful act of love and a
- 47:45Speaker 1: display of great parenthood and a selfish act, if you will,
- 47:49Speaker 1: a really amazing moment, and I thought that was very
- 47:52Speaker 1: cool to see.
- 47:53Speaker 3: Yeah I will.
- 47:53Speaker 4: I will absolutely give you that times one hundred.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Because I also thought it was nasty that Connor wanted
- 48:00Speaker 3: to take him when he knew it was so Brett.
- 48:04Speaker 4: It's just I don't like Connor.
- 48:06Speaker 1: I don't either the fact that he was like, oh wow, man,
- 48:09Speaker 1: that's great. You got all the equipment, that's.
- 48:10Speaker 3: What how can we figure this out?
- 48:12Speaker 1: It was like, oh, yeah, what's gonna do with myself?
- 48:16Speaker 3: Oh?
- 48:16Speaker 1: By the way, So then they have this car following them,
- 48:20Speaker 1: and then we find out that Connor hired a PI
- 48:23Speaker 1: to follow Brett.
- 48:27Speaker 4: I'm just Connor.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:30Speaker 1: So now they're worried that like, maybe this little kid
- 48:34Speaker 1: that was in the car that was probably listening to
- 48:37Speaker 1: true crime podcasts, you know, might have seen something. Yeah yeah, yeah, Okay,
- 48:47Speaker 1: well I think we may have covered it all. Megan.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Do you think we got I think you need to do.
- 48:53Speaker 3: I have a one off line that Doug said that
- 48:55Speaker 3: I wrote down and said, yes, brother, preach and this
- 48:59Speaker 3: is the throw away line, but really popped to me,
- 49:04Speaker 3: which is he's taken some vitamins, and he says, why
- 49:08Speaker 3: is the serving size always too? How about they make
- 49:11Speaker 3: a bigger vitamin? And I was like, I'm gonna use
- 49:14Speaker 3: my thumb and watch that again, because you know what,
- 49:17Speaker 3: I give vitamins to my kids every day and the
- 49:19Speaker 3: serving size is too and I'm always like, how about
- 49:22Speaker 3: we just have one like a god, yeah, a gummy.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Why don't we just make a little bit bigger one anyway.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I mean, it's not a choking hazard. Come on, you're
- 49:33Speaker 1: chewing it.
- 49:34Speaker 3: You're chewing it. I make it a little bigger. So
- 49:38Speaker 3: I just I really have to say.
- 49:39Speaker 4: I know it's off topic and nothing to do with
- 49:41Speaker 4: the garden.
- 49:42Speaker 3: I like all the vitamin makers out there.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Let it up, you know, just supersize it. That's all
- 49:48Speaker 1: you need to do.
- 49:50Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Also, I did love that Alice was talking about getting
- 49:54Speaker 1: together with Brett and he was so disinterested because he insulted.
- 49:58Speaker 3: Her in his manhood, insulted his man It's so bad.
- 50:02Speaker 3: And she's like, come on, house wives, it's a reunion.
- 50:07Speaker 2: That you had that.
- 50:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it was so good.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Yeah, So I think we we've covered it. I'm very
- 50:16Speaker 1: excited to see more of this. We will do it
- 50:17Speaker 1: every other week. Thank you guys so much for listening. Megan,
- 50:21Speaker 1: you know you do a lot of stuff here in
- 50:23Speaker 1: the Los Angeles area, So if you want to, if
- 50:26Speaker 1: you could just please tell us a little bit of
- 50:27Speaker 1: a one of your business ventures that you do with
- 50:29Speaker 1: all of your guns, I would love to.
- 50:31Speaker 3: Oh, thanks Amy. Yes, I do coaching for people who
- 50:35Speaker 3: are going on podcasts such as this, perhaps to be
- 50:39Speaker 3: interviewed for their company, or I sometimes help people who
- 50:43Speaker 3: are going on TV for interviews. But I do coaching
- 50:46Speaker 3: public speaking coaching is what I call it public communications coaching.
- 50:49Speaker 1: And I know a lot of people that have used
- 50:53Speaker 1: you and have absolutely loved you. And I I mean
- 50:57Speaker 1: I've used you for coaching for actings of our friends
- 51:00Speaker 1: use you for like direction, directing and coaching. But also
- 51:04Speaker 1: you work with very high profile clients that I will
- 51:08Speaker 1: not say who they are, I know who they are,
- 51:10Speaker 1: but and you help them with their presentations to huge
- 51:15Speaker 1: companies and whether it's a small boardroom pitch or a
- 51:20Speaker 1: large scale meeting, you help and you curtail whatever it
- 51:24Speaker 1: is that they need to do for the audience and
- 51:26Speaker 1: the platform that they're doing it on. So this is
- 51:30Speaker 1: like if you're in Corporate America, if you have a
- 51:32Speaker 1: small business, if you are hosting like a Zoom or whatever.
- 51:35Speaker 1: You know, Megan has unbelievable skills to get you where
- 51:39Speaker 1: you need to be. So Meghan, where can people find you?
- 51:43Speaker 3: You can look at my website and you can email
- 51:46Speaker 3: me straight off the website if you're interested in working
- 51:49Speaker 3: with me as a coach. But the website is Public
- 51:51Speaker 3: Speaking Coachcomedian dot com. I put everything together in one
- 51:56Speaker 3: big handle because there's tons of public speaking coaches out there,
- 52:00Speaker 3: but I'm the only one that I know of who
- 52:02Speaker 3: started in comedy, so I put that as part of
- 52:04Speaker 3: my handle, Public Speaking Coach Comedian.
- 52:07Speaker 1: And it's actually it's a huge part of like you,
- 52:09Speaker 1: everybody wants to infuse your personality and you know, and
- 52:13Speaker 1: some humor into a speech at some point.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Yes, you want to have a laugh. It helps win
- 52:18Speaker 3: that audience.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Over sure does. I will link that in the podcast
- 52:23Speaker 1: notes so you can get straight over there. And if
- 52:26Speaker 1: you guys like this podcast, obviously I'd love to see
- 52:29Speaker 1: you over on the Patreon dot com slash drama Darling
- 52:31Speaker 1: because we we recap all things Bravo and beyond, and
- 52:38Speaker 1: like I said, just got into Survivor.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Since season like eight, Yes, I haven't watched it.
