The Rose Grower: Hilda Murrell, Sizewell B and the 21-Year Hunt for Her Killer
In March 1984, 78-year-old rose grower and anti-nuclear campaigner Hilda Murrell was abducted from her Shrewsbury home in her own car and left to die in a copse while she was preparing evidence for the Sizewell B inquiry. For 21 years her murder fuelled theories about MI5 and the Falklands War, until DNA led police to a teenage burglar they had questioned and released in 1984. Andrew George was convicted in 2005, but her family still believes the full story has never been told.
