- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to jags Am. It is Monday, December eleventh. I'm
- 0:19Speaker 1: Tinani Stevens here with Brian Sexton and John Oser. Were
- 0:22Speaker 1: doing a little vintage in the old drivetime studios and
- 0:24Speaker 1: the post game studios today for jags Am as we get.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Ready to go over.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Unfortunately, a game that was not great for the Jaguars
- 0:32Speaker 1: in many facets yesterday as they fell to the Browns. Brian,
- 0:35Speaker 1: I know, we talked about a lot of situations. We're
- 0:37Speaker 1: talking a lot about whether Trevor was going to play.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Trevor did play, but there was a lot of other issues.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Yeah, the most obvious one to me was just the
- 0:44Speaker 3: lack of timing. And you see how important practices for players,
- 0:47Speaker 3: especially young players, only in his third season and trying
- 0:50Speaker 3: to figure it out.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, I'm frankly not quite sure it
- 0:55Speaker 4: was Trevor's timing as much as receivers go in the
- 0:58Speaker 4: wrong way. And then on defense, it's just bust after
- 1:01Speaker 4: bust after bust. They would play good for a couple
- 1:04Speaker 4: of series and then have a huge play. The Browns
- 1:09Speaker 4: are really good at home. Yeah, the Jaguars made it
- 1:11Speaker 4: way too easy for that good team to win.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Sure, did.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Let's go over some of our big things here today.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Big thing number one is Trevor tried.
- 1:18Speaker 2: He definitely tried.
- 1:19Speaker 1: We talked all week about whether he was going to
- 1:20Speaker 1: play or not. He went out there, he felt good,
- 1:22Speaker 1: he played well, said the ankle did not affect him.
- 1:24Speaker 2: But as we mentioned, he didn't.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Practice all week very much, if if at all, and
- 1:29Speaker 1: didn't get that timing down with these receivers. Obviously no excuses,
- 1:32Speaker 1: but a lot of miscommunication.
- 1:34Speaker 5: There's too many miscommunications. You know, we've been playing, we've
- 1:37Speaker 5: been playing together for.
- 1:38Speaker 6: A while now, and that's on us, and we got
- 1:40Speaker 6: to take some accountability, you know, for cleaning that up.
- 1:42Speaker 5: And that's just stuff that can't happen, you know, for
- 1:46Speaker 5: both of us.
- 1:46Speaker 6: You know, we got to be on the same page.
- 1:49Speaker 6: And there it seemed like all those plays that we
- 1:52Speaker 6: weren't you know, some week you're able to get away
- 1:54Speaker 6: with it and it doesn't bite you. It seemed like
- 1:55Speaker 6: this week they all did turned into turnovers or or
- 2:00Speaker 6: or bad plays or whatever. You know, So we gotta
- 2:03Speaker 6: we all gotta kind of take accountability and look in
- 2:05Speaker 6: the mirror and you know there's stuff that you know,
- 2:06Speaker 6: I didn't do well today, and then just in general,
- 2:10Speaker 6: we all have to communicate better.
- 2:11Speaker 2: With communication.
- 2:14Speaker 1: We talked about it being an issue for the defense, Brian,
- 2:16Speaker 1: but it was the offense yesterday.
- 2:18Speaker 3: John. This is where you felt the absence of Christian Kirk.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I mean, it was clear that he was missing from
- 2:24Speaker 3: the offense because there was just the guy that that
- 2:27Speaker 3: Trevor can throw blindly to turn without looking and know
- 2:30Speaker 3: where he's going to be. And it played out not
- 2:33Speaker 3: just in those deep down the field shots that it
- 2:36Speaker 3: always seems Kirk is underneath, but in the third down
- 2:38Speaker 3: percentage you know that they couldn't move the chains consistently
- 2:42Speaker 3: because he couldn't get rid of the ball under pressure.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Yeah, and he clearly has timing with Evan, who was
- 2:52Speaker 4: really good, really good. And the shame of it is
- 2:57Speaker 4: again I go back to you turned the ball over
- 3:01Speaker 4: four times and you gave them three easy plays on
- 3:04Speaker 4: defense and you still only lost by four. I mean,
- 3:09Speaker 4: you know, so this is one where they can really
- 3:13Speaker 4: look in the mirror and know that those big moments,
- 3:18Speaker 4: it's just not supposed to be that easy in the NFL,
- 3:20Speaker 4: its score.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Touchdowns, No it's not. And you did it with your
- 3:24Speaker 3: backup to the backup to the backup of the left tackle.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I mean, Blake kans Is out there lined up against
- 3:29Speaker 3: Miles Garrett and he did okay, right, he got some help,
- 3:34Speaker 3: but he held his own. You did it without fully
- 3:37Speaker 3: font Coassi in the middle of your defense, and without
- 3:39Speaker 3: Christian Kirk. I mean, except for a couple of mistakes
- 3:43Speaker 3: here and there, you gave yourself a chance to win
- 3:45Speaker 3: despite the fact that it didn't look on a surface
- 3:47Speaker 3: level like you had much of a chance to win
- 3:49Speaker 3: based on the injury list.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Well, the interesting thing, or it's interesting or frustrating, whatever
- 3:55Speaker 4: you gonna call it. They were decimated in the secondary.
- 3:57Speaker 4: You know, you're down no Trey Hearnd and no Tyson Campbell.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Six goes in and out. But the breakdowns, two of
- 4:07Speaker 4: them are on linebackers. So it really wasn't necessarily that
- 4:11Speaker 4: they went right after these spots where the Jaguars were hurt.
- 4:15Speaker 4: It was just you had huge breaks, huge missed assignments
- 4:21Speaker 4: that caused successful plays to become uber successful plays and
- 4:25Speaker 4: touchdowns the kind that you wind up.
- 4:27Speaker 3: On NFL Network with the first Touchdowntoku djoku and the
- 4:31Speaker 3: second one or the last one to David Bell were
- 4:35Speaker 3: both that what happened there.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Well, so it was the second one I mean, I
- 4:38Speaker 4: mean touchdowns, Yes, was the same thing.
- 4:42Speaker 7: You caught the ball five yards wide open.
- 4:44Speaker 4: There was some stat that no receiver has been that
- 4:46Speaker 4: wide open for two touchdowns since you know, the fifties.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I mean they started throwing the ball. I'm exaggerating, but
- 4:52Speaker 4: it h Look season's not over, but you can't have games.
- 5:00Speaker 7: It's too bad. That could have been a hero game. Yeah.
- 5:02Speaker 4: And even as much as as Trevor's timing was off
- 5:06Speaker 4: and I thought the ankle affected his accuracy at times,
- 5:08Speaker 4: there were plays that you think, you know, may didn't
- 5:10Speaker 4: make that, uh, but he getted it out and it
- 5:14Speaker 4: probably should have been enough to.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Win some of those mistakes by the lake.
- 5:17Speaker 1: That's our second big thing because as you mentioned, some
- 5:20Speaker 1: of those touchdowns given up to the rounds were wide
- 5:23Speaker 1: open plays for them. And of course the turnovers three
- 5:25Speaker 1: interceptions for Trevor Lawrence fumbled by Parker Washington, all that
- 5:30Speaker 1: just to disconnect.
- 5:30Speaker 2: As far as Doug Peterson's concerned.
- 5:34Speaker 8: I think offensively we were a little disconnected. You know,
- 5:38Speaker 8: Trevor and the receivers were a little off.
- 5:41Speaker 5: You know, we had opportunities to.
- 5:42Speaker 8: Make plays in the first half didn't Obviously, the turnovers,
- 5:45Speaker 8: you know, are are big and you can't you can't
- 5:49Speaker 8: do that. You know, we had a little success early
- 5:52Speaker 8: run in the football, you know, were some of the
- 5:55Speaker 8: things we did to keep them off balanced, but just overall,
- 5:59Speaker 8: just not not enough plays made, you know, too many
- 6:04Speaker 8: self inflicted wounds. You know that that kept us from
- 6:06Speaker 8: sustaining drives or you know, staying on the field.
- 6:12Speaker 3: John.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Two of those interceptions for Trevor, the ball was headed
- 6:15Speaker 1: Calvin Ridley's way. They looked like they weren't not on
- 6:18Speaker 1: the same page, not in the same book, even if
- 6:20Speaker 1: you want to put it that way.
- 6:21Speaker 2: What was going on there.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I don't know because I'm not in players heads. It
- 6:29Speaker 4: appeared on the first one there was the interception where
- 6:34Speaker 4: the defender intercepted of the ear line and the names
- 6:36Speaker 4: escaped me. I was constantly more in the Jaguars. Calvin
- 6:39Speaker 4: didn't look for the ball. On the second one, when
- 6:41Speaker 4: Trevor threw deep, it appeared that Calvin stopped and then
- 6:44Speaker 4: realized what was coming to him and then continued running.
- 6:47Speaker 7: That's how it looked on film.
- 6:48Speaker 3: But it looked like as if the ball was over
- 6:50Speaker 3: his outside shoulder and that he had turned inside on
- 6:52Speaker 3: the one, the second one, the diving one you're talking about. Yes, Yeah,
- 6:56Speaker 3: it looked like he was he was running the wrong
- 6:58Speaker 3: route right, and he didn't look for the ball.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 4: So because when it came back Trevor was pointing in
- 7:06Speaker 4: his eyes to me, it said, look for the ball.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Look.
- 7:10Speaker 7: I'm sure a lot of that is timing.
- 7:13Speaker 4: As Doug said after the game, there was no practice
- 7:16Speaker 4: of any significance for Trevor. So as a result, you
- 7:19Speaker 4: haven't repped those plays to be ready for it. The
- 7:22Speaker 4: other side of that is you're fourteen games in. There
- 7:25Speaker 4: should be some muscle memory there.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Yeah. Although you know, Doug and Trevor both talked in
- 7:29Speaker 3: the postgame about having played enough football together that they
- 7:33Speaker 3: should have better communication. But it's pretty clear that they don't.
- 7:36Speaker 3: I mean, there's been a lot of moments this year
- 7:38Speaker 3: where that has been off. Say Jones comes back in right,
- 7:42Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, it starts to look like
- 7:44Speaker 3: it's supposed to look. Then Christian Kirk goes out and
- 7:46Speaker 3: say Jones is having to deal with other things, and
- 7:48Speaker 3: all of a sudden, yesterday didn't look like it was there.
- 7:50Speaker 3: So there's still more time on task that needs to
- 7:54Speaker 3: take place between the quarterback and zero in order to
- 7:58Speaker 3: get where they want to be. What are they now?
- 8:01Speaker 3: Fourteen games into this thing. You'd hope that it would be.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Thirteen games into this thing, you'd hope it would be
- 8:08Speaker 3: clearly it's not yet.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I think frustrating, I'm sure for fans as well to
- 8:12Speaker 1: watch that knowing that you need someone to step up
- 8:14Speaker 1: because Christian Kirk isn't there, and then having those mistakes
- 8:17Speaker 1: with players that have been out there the whole season
- 8:19Speaker 1: so tough to see. Now, who's desperate? Now? Is our
- 8:22Speaker 1: final big thing? Our big thing number three? Because they've
- 8:25Speaker 1: gone up against the Jaguars, have gone up against some
- 8:27Speaker 1: desperate teams as of late that needed a win to
- 8:29Speaker 1: stay in the playoff on and now that's kind of
- 8:31Speaker 1: the position there. And they've got the Baltimore Ravens coming
- 8:33Speaker 1: in on Sunday Night football, and then this division has
- 8:36Speaker 1: not been locked up by any means, So that's something
- 8:38Speaker 1: they're a little bit going to be a little bit
- 8:39Speaker 1: desperate about this week.
- 8:41Speaker 6: Something needs to be said. I'll say it to them
- 8:43Speaker 6: while it's on the field and try to do it
- 8:45Speaker 6: in the most respectful way, because I never want to
- 8:48Speaker 6: look like I'm point in the finger. But also there's
- 8:50Speaker 6: stuff that needs to be fixed, and same thing for
- 8:52Speaker 6: those guys that can tell them to me and talk
- 8:53Speaker 6: to me if I'm not doing something right, if they're
- 8:55Speaker 6: thinking I'm going to put the ball here and I
- 8:56Speaker 6: put it there, we got to clean that up.
- 8:58Speaker 5: So it's full circle and those guys understand it.
- 9:02Speaker 6: And that's something that we've created where we're gonna have
- 9:05Speaker 6: accountability if you're not doing their job, whether that's me,
- 9:08Speaker 6: whether that's Zay Calvin, Christian Evan, anybody. You got to
- 9:12Speaker 6: your job and we understand that, and you're not gonna
- 9:14Speaker 6: win if you don't.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Brian, it's frustrating because it feels like self inflicted things
- 9:21Speaker 1: that they're doing wrong. So does that mean they should
- 9:23Speaker 1: be able to change it on Sunday.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Well, you'd like to think so that. Look, the Niners
- 9:27Speaker 3: came in here, they lost three in a row, and
- 9:28Speaker 3: they were desperate to re establish themselves and they played
- 9:31Speaker 3: with great energy. It was clear from the beginning of
- 9:33Speaker 3: that game that the Niners played with more intensity than
- 9:35Speaker 3: the Jaguars. I don't think that's an arguable point. And
- 9:39Speaker 3: then yesterday they got a Browns team they had lost
- 9:42Speaker 3: back to back and they felt like things were getting
- 9:44Speaker 3: away from them and the injuries, and at least in
- 9:47Speaker 3: the first quarter on the first two or three series,
- 9:50Speaker 3: they played with great energy. And I realized the JAG's
- 9:53Speaker 3: energy level was gonna be a little different because they
- 9:55Speaker 3: were just trying to figure things out with who's in
- 9:57Speaker 3: the lineup and how can the quarterback perform it high
- 10:00Speaker 3: level and all of that stuff. But man, they brought it.
- 10:02Speaker 3: They were at home, they had lost too in a row.
- 10:05Speaker 3: They knew they needed to put the flag in the
- 10:06Speaker 3: ground and say no more. And that's what the Jaguars
- 10:09Speaker 3: need to do because you've got the Ravens coming in
- 10:11Speaker 3: and look, John, they got the gift yesterday that the
- 10:15Speaker 3: Jets clobbered the Texans and that the Bengals did the
- 10:18Speaker 3: same to the Colts, and so they still have that
- 10:20Speaker 3: one game margin, but you can't count on that. The
- 10:22Speaker 3: Jaguars have to come out with great intensity on Sunday
- 10:25Speaker 3: against the Ravens.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Yeah, and I don't think the Jaguars are desperate. They
- 10:30Speaker 4: need to have better urgency for perspective. I thought the
- 10:36Speaker 4: Jaguars were about eleven ish twelve ish win team this year.
- 10:41Speaker 4: I'm not sure they're gonna beat the Baltimore Raves. I
- 10:42Speaker 4: think Baltimore Ravens might be the best team in the AFC.
- 10:46Speaker 4: I think they'll win their last three. I think they'll
- 10:48Speaker 4: finished eleven and six. I think they'll win the division.
- 10:50Speaker 4: To me, this is sort of what I expected them
- 10:52Speaker 4: to be right now. They are going through a patch
- 10:56Speaker 4: that often hits teams. Didn't hit it really hit him
- 10:58Speaker 4: last year. You're in you're trying to figure things out
- 11:01Speaker 4: after being injured, You're fighting through that Cleveland game was
- 11:04Speaker 4: always going to be tough. Yeah, they're inconsistent on the road.
- 11:08Speaker 4: They're really good at home, and they're a really good
- 11:11Speaker 4: pass defense, which played into what the Jaguars weren't doing well.
- 11:16Speaker 4: They have earned their cushion. There's still really a game
- 11:20Speaker 4: and a half of because of the tie breaks. If
- 11:22Speaker 4: they play to their potential, they can do this. But
- 11:25Speaker 4: this is my hot take, so I won't completely burn it,
- 11:27Speaker 4: but they got to start doing that.
- 11:28Speaker 3: To be clear, there is a difference between being desperate
- 11:32Speaker 3: and feeling desperate, and that's what I think they need
- 11:35Speaker 3: to be on Sunday is to have that energy level
- 11:38Speaker 3: that comes from no more. We've got to draw the
- 11:40Speaker 3: line in the sand right here. We've got to avoid
- 11:43Speaker 3: the mistakes. If you have bumbles at the bank, right
- 11:46Speaker 3: instead of mistakes by the lake, if we're talking about
- 11:49Speaker 3: that next Monday, then that's the problem, right.
- 11:55Speaker 1: And I think it's the trends as well. Right, they
- 11:57Speaker 1: were inconsistent at the beginning last season. They reeled off
- 12:00Speaker 1: all those wins in a row. You get that, you know,
- 12:01Speaker 1: kind of feeling where things are coming together for you.
- 12:04Speaker 1: But now I think also the way that they're losing
- 12:06Speaker 1: some of these games, it's things that are repeated mistakes
- 12:10Speaker 1: or issues that we didn't expect, right. We expected this
- 12:12Speaker 1: offense to be able to do a lot of things,
- 12:13Speaker 1: but then to have communication issues in Week fourteen with
- 12:16Speaker 1: receivers you played with all year, that's weird to see,
- 12:19Speaker 1: or just you know, miscommunications in the secondary that we've
- 12:21Speaker 1: seen all season long.
- 12:22Speaker 2: So I think some of those things are strange.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And obviously when it's repeated mistakes, they don't have answers
- 12:27Speaker 1: for it because they know that it's been a problem.
- 12:29Speaker 3: And it's really telling because if you make mistakes and
- 12:32Speaker 3: shoot yourself in the foot. A backup named Jake Browning,
- 12:36Speaker 3: who's making his first ever road start, his second ever start,
- 12:39Speaker 3: can thrash you, which he did at Joe Flacco, who's
- 12:42Speaker 3: about to turn thirty nine, who you know famously last
- 12:46Speaker 3: week told people I was sitting on my parents' couch
- 12:48Speaker 3: watching football. Then he comes in and throws for three
- 12:50Speaker 3: hundred yards and they get thirty points on you. If
- 12:53Speaker 3: you don't play your best football right now, which Doug
- 12:56Speaker 3: alluded to in the post game, then these backup quarterbacks
- 12:59Speaker 3: can come and throw it at you.
- 13:01Speaker 1: They did, all right, Stay with us coming up after
- 13:04Speaker 1: the break here on Jagsam, we're gonna go over some
- 13:06Speaker 1: of the highlights from yesterday and the plays that we remember.
- 13:08Speaker 2: After break.
- 13:15Speaker 1: It's presented by Forever BET's Animal Hospital. Your pet will
- 13:18Speaker 1: receive access to exclusive merchandise, events and sweepstakes throughout the
- 13:21Speaker 1: twenty twenty three season. This is Jaguars dot Com Slash
- 13:24Speaker 1: Promotion Slash four Leggeds fan club to sign up today.
- 13:31Speaker 6: You know that's saying about this league. No one really
- 13:32Speaker 6: cares who you're missing. There's a lot of teams missing
- 13:34Speaker 6: players at this point. In the season, but percent obviously
- 13:37Speaker 6: missed Christian. He's you know, one of our best players
- 13:39Speaker 6: and makes a huge impact, you know, on this offense
- 13:42Speaker 6: and this team, so of course you miss him and
- 13:45Speaker 6: you know Christians on IR you know, we gotta we
- 13:47Speaker 6: gotta find a way to still win games without them.
- 13:49Speaker 5: So that's not going to change in the next few weeks.
- 13:52Speaker 6: So we got to figure we gotta find a way,
- 13:54Speaker 6: and I got all the confidence that we will. But
- 13:56Speaker 6: you know, this week, we gotta you know, we gotta
- 13:58Speaker 6: go to work, we gotta, we gotta get better, we
- 13:59Speaker 6: gotta communicat we got to get on the same page.
- 14:01Speaker 6: You know, just too many, too many mistakes.
- 14:05Speaker 2: That's right.
- 14:05Speaker 1: No one feels bad for you in the National Football League,
- 14:07Speaker 1: that's for sure. Kay, Nannie Stevens, Brian Sex, and John
- 14:09Speaker 1: Osier here with us is we're going to go over
- 14:11Speaker 1: some of the plays from yesterday, highlights and low lights
- 14:13Speaker 1: of course, of just what went down in Cleveland. Now,
- 14:17Speaker 1: one of the highlights I would say for the day
- 14:18Speaker 1: was Evan Ingram and what he's been able to do.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I guess the last two games really and obviously early
- 14:23Speaker 1: on took advantage. They were able to force a turnover
- 14:26Speaker 1: on defense or Cooper's fumble there early. I'm not sure
- 14:30Speaker 1: what he was doing, trying to switch the switch hands
- 14:32Speaker 1: with the ball or something like that, but the Jaguars
- 14:35Speaker 1: were able to get it recovered in the red zone,
- 14:37Speaker 1: giving them a good opportunity. And then Evan Ingram he
- 14:40Speaker 1: had a day.
- 14:44Speaker 3: You know, the takeaways yesterday were the way the defense
- 14:48Speaker 3: played early this season where they built that cushion that
- 14:51Speaker 3: you talked about, John, and it was good to see.
- 14:53Speaker 3: You know, do we get in there and knock that
- 14:54Speaker 3: ball free. That's what gave the Jaguars a chance to
- 14:58Speaker 3: stay in it at a moment that it looked like
- 15:01Speaker 3: it could get away from a bast I mean at
- 15:04Speaker 3: it gave him two short field scoring opportunities with an
- 15:08Speaker 3: injured quarterback and a makeshift offensive line against the number
- 15:12Speaker 3: one defense in football. You're gonna need the exact same
- 15:14Speaker 3: thing against the Ravens, who lead the league in pressure,
- 15:18Speaker 3: and on Sunday night are going to come in here
- 15:20Speaker 3: or chase your quarterback and we don't know what the
- 15:21Speaker 3: offensive line looks like. You're gonna have to get more takeaways.
- 15:24Speaker 7: Yeah, it's such a league of moments and plays.
- 15:28Speaker 4: The defense played okay yesterday except for three awful plays,
- 15:34Speaker 4: so that means they didn't play well in the NFL.
- 15:37Speaker 4: They played with heart, they played with guts. Evan aingern
- 15:41Speaker 4: to me. He is having a great year and he
- 15:46Speaker 4: is the reason the Jaguars offense is able to at
- 15:48Speaker 4: least function without much of a running game. I consider
- 15:51Speaker 4: Evan's stats right now sort of this supplement to the
- 15:54Speaker 4: running game because Trevor's been able to throw short to
- 15:56Speaker 4: him and Evan can get seven or eight yards and
- 15:59Speaker 4: keep them in at least a manageable down and distance.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Without him, this would really feel like a clunky, running,
- 16:06Speaker 4: gameless offense right now. So he's saving it on that front.
- 16:09Speaker 4: That chemistry that go to ability. Is that enough, I
- 16:15Speaker 4: don't know, But right now that's the way I see
- 16:18Speaker 4: him contributing to the offense in a big way, and
- 16:20Speaker 4: that's critical.
- 16:22Speaker 1: The Jaguars also turning the ball over yesterday a couple
- 16:25Speaker 1: of interceptions from Trevor but also fumble from Parker Washington,
- 16:28Speaker 1: which set up good field position for.
- 16:31Speaker 2: The Browns in this game as well.
- 16:32Speaker 1: And as much as we talked about the Jaguars getting
- 16:35Speaker 1: it in the red zone, when you turn things over
- 16:36Speaker 1: on your half the field and give the Browns short
- 16:39Speaker 1: field as well. They took advantage of that, running up
- 16:41Speaker 1: the score early, and it felt it was a close
- 16:44Speaker 1: game by points, but it felt that this was the
- 16:46Speaker 1: point where it started to feel like it was getting away.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Yeah, but There's did a nice job yesterday, and it
- 16:53Speaker 4: was impressive in a way, encouraging in a way that
- 16:57Speaker 4: it felt a couple of times like he was getting away,
- 16:59Speaker 4: and they figured out a way to stay in it.
- 17:02Speaker 4: And I was almost laughing in the fourth quarter when
- 17:04Speaker 4: they got the ball back with a chance to tie,
- 17:07Speaker 4: and I was thinking, if they win this game, what
- 17:10Speaker 4: an incredible effort because you tried so hard to give
- 17:14Speaker 4: it away. Unfortunately then they didn't do that, but it
- 17:18Speaker 4: did show fight. I don't think there's any quit yes,
- 17:23Speaker 4: say well enough.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Moving on another I'll say silver lining bright spot of
- 17:27Speaker 1: the day is we got to see a little bit
- 17:28Speaker 1: more of Antonio Johnson, probably because of the injuries we've
- 17:31Speaker 1: been dealing with, but he got a stripsack and just
- 17:35Speaker 1: his play. We know they kind of would like him
- 17:37Speaker 1: to play Nickel at some point. They want to see
- 17:39Speaker 1: more of him, and there's flashes there and that's what
- 17:41Speaker 1: you want to see in that position group, especially when
- 17:43Speaker 1: you're dealing with some injuries.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Right That's the play that john was talking about where
- 17:46Speaker 3: it felt like the game was getting away from them
- 17:48Speaker 3: and uh oh, all of a sudden, now they're going
- 17:50Speaker 3: to be back deep to throw and Miles Garrett is
- 17:53Speaker 3: going to come after the quarterback. And yet it was
- 17:55Speaker 3: the Jaguars that got that play done. What a play
- 17:57Speaker 3: that we've been waiting for that kid because his hamstring injury,
- 18:00Speaker 3: he was slowed into the season and now with you know,
- 18:03Speaker 3: yesterday Cisco and Rayshawn out of the game, it's really
- 18:06Speaker 3: nice to have a young talented player at that position
- 18:09Speaker 3: that you can put on the field.
- 18:10Speaker 7: And say something here.
- 18:11Speaker 4: But here's something too about Travis Etn who end up
- 18:14Speaker 4: scoring on that play.
- 18:15Speaker 7: It's got to earn every inch right now. I mean,
- 18:18Speaker 7: you know it's.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Not real great interior push again, he made something out
- 18:25Speaker 4: of nothing here. Yeah, I think Jaguars want to see
- 18:28Speaker 4: more out of Antonio Johnson. I think he's the starter
- 18:30Speaker 4: next year. I think he's going to be. I think
- 18:32Speaker 4: they wanted to be a key part of it. He
- 18:37Speaker 4: he looks to me again like a guy who can
- 18:39Speaker 4: fill that role. Good to see him do that yesterday. Again,
- 18:42Speaker 4: I keep going back to the defense. As much as
- 18:45Speaker 4: things got away from them in certain plays, they did
- 18:48Speaker 4: enough to keep them in it late, and I think
- 18:52Speaker 4: that's something that at least gives you hope for this
- 18:56Speaker 4: bunch to stay stout and play better in the next
- 19:00Speaker 4: four games.
- 19:00Speaker 3: And the theme of the last couple of highlights has
- 19:02Speaker 3: been takeaway touchdown, take away touchdown, take away touchdown, and
- 19:05Speaker 3: it would keep going.
- 19:06Speaker 2: It did continue Trevor.
- 19:08Speaker 1: One of Trevor's interceptions would follow that, and then that
- 19:10Speaker 1: would lead to another Brown's touchdown. And Trevor, I don't
- 19:14Speaker 1: want to say that he expect a little bit more
- 19:18Speaker 1: in terms of his understanding with either Ridley or whoever
- 19:22Speaker 1: he's throwing the ball to, But I did expect a
- 19:24Speaker 1: little bit more out of both of them. And it's
- 19:26Speaker 1: not to blame either one of them necessarily, because I
- 19:28Speaker 1: don't know what's happening in the meetings. I don't know
- 19:30Speaker 1: what play is exactly called up. But you can use
- 19:33Speaker 1: your own eyes and know that it doesn't look right.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Well, if the other two interceptions were on Calvin for
- 19:38Speaker 3: running the wrong route or not looking for the ball.
- 19:39Speaker 3: That one was on the quarterback for just heaving it
- 19:41Speaker 3: up there and expecting him to get back on the other.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Side when he hasn't done it.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I think the receiver's got to help
- 19:48Speaker 4: the quarterback in that situation. This league right now is
- 19:50Speaker 4: about throwing up and let your guy make a play.
- 19:55Speaker 3: But newsm was over the top the whole way. Well,
- 19:59Speaker 3: I mean, at what point would you see that and say, oh,
- 20:02Speaker 3: he's gonna get by.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Him because he's won on one with the corner, So
- 20:06Speaker 4: you throw.
- 20:07Speaker 3: The ball up and.
- 20:09Speaker 7: Let it go to guy, go make a play.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Unfortunately, didn't see that play get made yesterday. Parker Washington
- 20:17Speaker 1: has been forced into things with Jamal agnew being ounce
- 20:20Speaker 1: who's been returning kicks, and now with Christian kirkout, he's
- 20:22Speaker 1: kind of become that extra wide receiver in the slot,
- 20:24Speaker 1: trying to fill that role a little bit. We've seen
- 20:26Speaker 1: flashes from him. Obviously, he's made mistakes, had a fumble
- 20:29Speaker 1: in the game yesterday, had some other you know, was
- 20:31Speaker 1: miscommunication on that play where Trevor got hurt on Monday
- 20:34Speaker 1: Night Football. But this was a great catch and these
- 20:36Speaker 1: are the flashes where you see you understand what he's
- 20:38Speaker 1: going to bring to the team and why they liked
- 20:40Speaker 1: him and why they drafted him.
- 20:41Speaker 3: He just knows so little of the offense. I mean,
- 20:44Speaker 3: he just has such a slight understanding of the role
- 20:49Speaker 3: that he has to step into. But that's the kind
- 20:52Speaker 3: of catch that Christian Kirk would make, and so for
- 20:54Speaker 3: him to pull that one down, John, we talked about
- 20:57Speaker 3: silver linings and little bits of hope. You know, over
- 20:59Speaker 3: the next couple weeks, with more time on the practice field,
- 21:01Speaker 3: more reps, more timing with the quarterback. I mean, think
- 21:04Speaker 3: about this, this week he gets into the starting role,
- 21:05Speaker 3: but he doesn't get any reps with his quarterback because
- 21:07Speaker 3: his quarterback can't practice. So you think that if Trevor
- 21:10Speaker 3: can be on the practice field this week, that kid
- 21:12Speaker 3: can make more of an impact.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Well, we talk so much and everybody in the NFL
- 21:16Speaker 4: talks about second year jumps. He looks to me like
- 21:21Speaker 4: a kid who's has a chance to be outstanding next year.
- 21:25Speaker 4: If you're making a few plays a game like this
- 21:27Speaker 4: as a rookie, this is above and beyond what you
- 21:31Speaker 4: expect from a fifth round picks.
- 21:32Speaker 7: A rookie. He looks to me like a.
- 21:37Speaker 4: I don't remember the last time this team drafted a
- 21:40Speaker 4: wide receiver who in year three or four of that
- 21:43Speaker 4: kid's career, he's been a really go to guy and
- 21:46Speaker 4: go to you know what I'm saying, Well, he can
- 21:49Speaker 4: be really productive for a long time.
- 21:50Speaker 3: You draft a kid like that because you expect him
- 21:52Speaker 3: to eventually replace Christian Kirk. Right, it's a couple of
- 21:55Speaker 3: years down the road. Here's the other thing that put
- 21:57Speaker 3: it into context what he's doing. He's also the return guy,
- 22:00Speaker 3: replacing a Pro Bowl caliber punt returner in Jamal Agnew,
- 22:03Speaker 3: and yesterday he had a couple and an eleven and
- 22:05Speaker 3: a twenty six yard punt return. So he is replacing
- 22:09Speaker 3: Agnew and Kirk. If you had said before the season, oh,
- 22:12Speaker 3: at some point the same game, he's going to replace
- 22:13Speaker 3: both of them, play pretty well, you'd say.
- 22:16Speaker 4: What, Yeah, considering his first real reps were last week, Yeah,
- 22:20Speaker 4: two touchdowns.
- 22:22Speaker 7: You'll take his production and his potential growth.
- 22:26Speaker 1: He's got upside, real upside, full rookie in the sense
- 22:29Speaker 1: of he makes mistakes and you're very very mad at him,
- 22:31Speaker 1: and then he does some awesome stuff and you're like, oh, okay,
- 22:33Speaker 1: it's all right, So we get the full gambit with
- 22:34Speaker 1: Parker there late in this game, as we mentioned, it
- 22:37Speaker 1: felt like they were out of it, but the Jaguars
- 22:39Speaker 1: really were in it until the final minutes of this game.
- 22:42Speaker 1: And I think, you know, they were trying to stay
- 22:44Speaker 1: in and go for it on fourth down late when
- 22:47Speaker 1: they had the ball and they were within a score,
- 22:48Speaker 1: and that's when they were trying to get back into things.
- 22:51Speaker 1: And it's just and they weren't calling this all day,
- 22:57Speaker 1: and I understand why his Adrianes is frustrated. The you know,
- 23:00Speaker 1: the back is on him before the ball gets there.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But there's probably two or three plays that they had
- 23:05Speaker 1: done this and at this point you weren't going to
- 23:07Speaker 1: get that call because you didn't get it the two
- 23:09Speaker 1: times before that the exact same thing happened.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Well, and you got to wonder, if Christian Kirks on
- 23:12Speaker 3: the field, how much more that opens things up for
- 23:14Speaker 3: Za to be able to make that catch or Kirk
- 23:17Speaker 3: is open on that catch. This will be the last
- 23:19Speaker 3: time we can say, well, probably the last time we
- 23:22Speaker 3: will say, well what if Christian was on the field,
- 23:24Speaker 3: because it's the first game after that. But it allowed
- 23:27Speaker 3: them to get that field goal with the game out
- 23:29Speaker 3: of reach.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I think we may be saying I think maybe
- 23:34Speaker 4: talking about Christian for a little bit, because it feels
- 23:37Speaker 4: like his absence is gonna hurt. I didn't have a
- 23:40Speaker 4: huge problem with the non calls. It felt like they
- 23:43Speaker 4: were calling that pretty much both ways the whole game.
- 23:46Speaker 2: I was gonna say, they're consistently not calling it.
- 23:48Speaker 7: So yeah, it was have been called.
- 23:51Speaker 4: I guess not surprising when you're playing a really good
- 23:54Speaker 4: pass defense at their place that you don't forget it.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Sometimes you throw the flag simes they don't.
- 24:00Speaker 3: It's a game of interes and yards and first and
- 24:04Speaker 3: second down. Jacks did a really nice job on that
- 24:06Speaker 3: drive of keeping the Browns at bay and then a
- 24:09Speaker 3: third down they got freed just enough to make it
- 24:12Speaker 3: a fifty five instead of a fifty eight, and you
- 24:13Speaker 3: wonder if it's fifty eight or fifty nine if the
- 24:16Speaker 3: kick is good.
- 24:17Speaker 1: So Ingram had two touchdowns on the day. As we
- 24:21Speaker 1: mentioned earlier, he was, you know, the bright spot for
- 24:24Speaker 1: this team on offense as far as that goes, And
- 24:26Speaker 1: the last two games really he's been clicking. Unfortunately it's
- 24:29Speaker 1: in two games that the Jaguars have come up short.
- 24:32Speaker 2: But he's kind of that. You know, they don't have
- 24:34Speaker 2: that big wide receiver.
- 24:35Speaker 1: He fills that role a little bit the red zone,
- 24:37Speaker 1: which is sorely needed and was much appreciated yesterday at
- 24:40Speaker 1: least to keep them in out.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's encouraging that he got He had
- 24:45Speaker 4: not been great in the red zone this year, and
- 24:48Speaker 4: a lot of that circumstance he hadn't had a touchdown.
- 24:50Speaker 4: But sometimes you know, you can go through patches where
- 24:53Speaker 4: it's just not going your way down there. It's encouraging
- 24:57Speaker 4: for this stretch run that they're production in the red
- 25:01Speaker 4: zone from man, they were four to four in the
- 25:02Speaker 4: red zone yesterday. It didn't feel like it because they
- 25:04Speaker 4: kind of gave away a couple of.
- 25:06Speaker 7: Like thirty five and forty in.
- 25:10Speaker 4: If he gives them that wrinkle in the red zone,
- 25:14Speaker 4: that could make a difference to one of the last
- 25:15Speaker 4: four games.
- 25:16Speaker 3: If you go look at tight end numbers, and I
- 25:17Speaker 3: haven't yet this morning updated numbers, but if you go
- 25:19Speaker 3: look at tight end numbers around the league, you'll find
- 25:22Speaker 3: him in the top five in almost every category. In fact,
- 25:24Speaker 3: yards after the catch he was number one and Najoku
- 25:28Speaker 3: was number two. And I think najok who passed him yesterday,
- 25:31Speaker 3: but just by a hair. I mean, he is as
- 25:34Speaker 3: productive a tight end as you could ask for outside
- 25:37Speaker 3: of Travis Kelcey and Greg Kittle. So to have that
- 25:40Speaker 3: going into the stretch run of the season, that is, boy,
- 25:44Speaker 3: if he gets dinged up, you're in real trouble.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I think he's eighty six catches something like that on
- 25:48Speaker 2: the season, and he broke.
- 25:49Speaker 3: His own Jaguars single season receptions record by a tight
- 25:53Speaker 3: end yesterday.
- 25:53Speaker 1: He's close to the wide receiver records for the Jaguars
- 25:56Speaker 1: that is going to be at the end of the season.
- 25:57Speaker 1: So definitely something that they need to keep going to
- 26:01Speaker 1: him on offense and hopefully that opens up some other people.
- 26:04Speaker 1: All Right today with us, we've got hot takes coming
- 26:06Speaker 1: up after the break here on Jagzam this morning presented.
- 26:09Speaker 2: By Carshield Move the Freight.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Moved the Freight Magellan Transport voted the coolest office space
- 26:17Speaker 1: in Jacksonville. You can apply online at www dot Magellanlogistics
- 26:21Speaker 1: dot com. We welcome you back into Jagzam on this
- 26:26Speaker 1: Monday as we recap kind of Week fourteen and everything
- 26:29Speaker 1: that went down with the Jaguars and Bengals yesterday. You've
- 26:32Speaker 1: heard a little bit of what we thought about the game,
- 26:34Speaker 1: but now we're going to go over our full hot takes. John,
- 26:37Speaker 1: do you want to kick us off with your hot
- 26:38Speaker 1: take today?
- 26:39Speaker 7: Yeah? I need to see it.
- 26:43Speaker 4: But basically, it's uh, they control their faith. There's still
- 26:49Speaker 4: a game up and they're more than that because of
- 26:53Speaker 4: tie breaks, and they've earned that. They're the best team
- 26:56Speaker 4: in the AFC South. I still think they're going to
- 26:57Speaker 4: win the AFC South. I don't think they're going to
- 27:00Speaker 4: be like the number one see but I didn't think
- 27:04Speaker 4: they were that level to begin with. I think they're
- 27:07Speaker 4: probably the third, fourth, fifth team in the AFC somewhere there.
- 27:10Speaker 4: They can still get back to there. They're still capable
- 27:12Speaker 4: of it. These patches happen when you're trying to fight through.
- 27:17Speaker 4: With this team's trying to fight through, I don't think
- 27:20Speaker 4: they should panic again. I'm not sure they beat the Ravens,
- 27:23Speaker 4: but it's there for them if they just get back,
- 27:27Speaker 4: especially defensively, to being more solid. I don't think this
- 27:30Speaker 4: is a time to panic, but they've got to do
- 27:32Speaker 4: it at some point.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Well, you know you say that you don't think they're
- 27:34Speaker 3: at that level, and certainly they're not with the injuries
- 27:36Speaker 3: that they have taken on right now. They just don't
- 27:38Speaker 3: have the depth of the offensive line. But they're a
- 27:40Speaker 3: misbranded McManus field goal away from being just a game
- 27:42Speaker 3: out of that. So they john they took advantage of
- 27:46Speaker 3: the opportunities they had and put themselves in a position
- 27:49Speaker 3: to be able to see it from here. So here's
- 27:51Speaker 3: my point. Beat the Ravens claim the South. Right, you
- 27:54Speaker 3: look right now at the Colts who got clobbered yesterday
- 27:57Speaker 3: by the Bengals. Gardner Minshew is what he is. If
- 28:00Speaker 3: everything else is good, if they're not turning the ball over,
- 28:03Speaker 3: if the defense is helping, he can put you in
- 28:05Speaker 3: a position to win, like he did in Nashville. But
- 28:07Speaker 3: they haven't beaten many really good teams. They haven't played
- 28:09Speaker 3: any really good teams. They've beaten the Patriots and the
- 28:13Speaker 3: and the Panthers and you know, and the Titans, and
- 28:16Speaker 3: so they are what they are. And then now all
- 28:18Speaker 3: of a sudden, the Texans have a quarterback who's in
- 28:20Speaker 3: the concussion protocol and they're very beat up and there
- 28:25Speaker 3: are trouble So you go claim it on Sunday by
- 28:27Speaker 3: beating the Ravens at home, which, without knowing what the
- 28:32Speaker 3: lineup is going to look like up front, seems like
- 28:33Speaker 3: a formidable task. But if the quarterback comes out and plays.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Right, it's still a very hot take in my opinion,
- 28:39Speaker 1: that they're going to be able to beat the Ravens
- 28:41Speaker 1: this week.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Well, I mean, are you ready to claim that they can't?
- 28:43Speaker 2: They can. They can do a lot of things whether
- 28:46Speaker 2: they win.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Not claiming they will. I'm saying, beat the Ravens, you
- 28:51Speaker 3: win the South on Sunday night.
- 28:54Speaker 8: All right.
- 28:54Speaker 3: By the way, you asked for hot take, wild.
- 28:56Speaker 2: That was blazing hot take.
- 28:58Speaker 1: My hot take is that they aren't following their own
- 29:00Speaker 1: motto right they talk about gritty not pretty. They're trying
- 29:02Speaker 1: to play pretty right now, they're trying to play finesse.
- 29:04Speaker 2: They're not.
- 29:05Speaker 1: You know, in the trenches is where it starts. I think,
- 29:08Speaker 1: you know, when you lose fully thought to cost you
- 29:10Speaker 1: and other people you're you know, injuries are an excuse,
- 29:12Speaker 1: but there's an issue there. And then wide receivers. The
- 29:15Speaker 1: only ones that are having success in the offense right
- 29:17Speaker 1: now are Evan Ingram and Parker Washington, who's shown he's.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Probably one of the toughest people they.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Have out there right now, and it's for me a
- 29:26Speaker 1: matter of maybe that's not how this team is built,
- 29:28Speaker 1: but when it comes to this point of the season,
- 29:30Speaker 1: especially when you're playing teams like the Browns and the
- 29:34Speaker 1: Ravens and the Bengals for that matter, you know, the
- 29:37Speaker 1: Browns are have twice the amount of injuries that we have,
- 29:40Speaker 1: but they're just built on being a physical football team,
- 29:43Speaker 1: and I really feel like that's what it kind of
- 29:45Speaker 1: came down to yesterday.
- 29:46Speaker 3: You got to be able to run the ball, to
- 29:47Speaker 3: play that gritty style, and as we talked about right now,
- 29:50Speaker 3: at least I don't see the ability to do that.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the Jaguars play callers, everybody offense would
- 29:59Speaker 4: love to be gritty. I'm kind of with Brian. You know,
- 30:02Speaker 4: you threw on third and one yesterday because evidence has
- 30:08Speaker 4: shown you in recent games that third and one has
- 30:11Speaker 4: to have to pick up rushing for this team.
- 30:12Speaker 7: So I think they'd love to be gritty. I think
- 30:14Speaker 7: they sort of have to try to be pretty.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I want to go past one more hot take real quick,
- 30:18Speaker 3: give Tank Bigsby a couple of carries here and there.
- 30:20Speaker 3: I mean, you need to have that Slamm and I
- 30:22Speaker 3: understand when he's on the field, defense is under They
- 30:25Speaker 3: know it's not going to be a passing play because
- 30:27Speaker 3: the Jaguars, if they don't trust anything in Bigsby, it's
- 30:30Speaker 3: they don't trust his protection, right, his ability to protect
- 30:33Speaker 3: the quarterback in passing situations. But he has in his
- 30:36Speaker 3: last ten carries for six yard carries. You need that
- 30:40Speaker 3: between the tackles outside. Etn is one of those guys
- 30:43Speaker 3: who can give you an eleven yard game. But how
- 30:45Speaker 3: many times was he stuff behind the line of scrimmage yesterday?
- 30:48Speaker 3: A lot?
- 30:49Speaker 2: Right, So if you can give tank and he can
- 30:50Speaker 2: kind of move through the pile, that's what they are
- 30:53Speaker 2: missing right now.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Excuse me what they're missing right now? And also, you know,
- 30:56Speaker 1: not being able to open things up with the line
- 30:58Speaker 1: because of the injuries they have or personnel or whatever
- 31:00Speaker 1: it may be. Yeah, you gotta try something new. So
- 31:03Speaker 1: maybe that's maybe that's the answer. Maybe they will try
- 31:05Speaker 1: that on Sunday night. Stay with us, we'll look ahead
- 31:07Speaker 1: to the rest of the week here on jagsam.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Jags fans.

- 31:17Speaker 1: out zipchare dot com. To browse all the customizable options.
- 31:20Speaker 1: ZIP chair is furniture made for fans. Jagxam also brought
- 31:23Speaker 1: to you by publics or shopping is a pleasure.
- 31:30Speaker 3: You can't replace the guy like one three, but you
- 31:33Speaker 3: know there's no excuses.
- 31:35Speaker 5: We ill found a way to do it. And this
- 31:38Speaker 5: is this is a scene when it walking room year
- 31:39Speaker 5: to figure it out and get it und to day.
- 31:42Speaker 3: But you know it gets all that stuff.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Evan Ingram post game yesterday, probably one of the most
- 31:49Speaker 1: demonstratively frustrated with how the team has been. Obviously he's
- 31:52Speaker 1: a leader in that room, so you know when he's frustrated,
- 31:54Speaker 1: it's frustrated with a situation that it's probably reached its
- 31:57Speaker 1: spoiling point.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Yeah, and he clearly was took no solace in having
- 32:04Speaker 4: a big game.
- 32:04Speaker 7: That's not who he is.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Look, the season's not on the brink, it's not over.
- 32:12Speaker 4: It's all right there in front of him. But they
- 32:15Speaker 4: have to make a couple of more plays a game
- 32:18Speaker 4: as bad as that felt, Yeah, you're like you said,
- 32:22Speaker 4: it's such a league of inches. You're a couple of
- 32:24Speaker 4: plays away from having won the last two and everything's rosy.
- 32:28Speaker 4: But if you keep doing that everything's not gonna be righty, Well, we've.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Seen some things that work. It's just, and Dug said yesterday,
- 32:35Speaker 3: it feels like you're not playing your best football. And
- 32:38Speaker 3: when you're losing, right, clearly, you can't say that you are.
- 32:41Speaker 3: You'd like to feel like, hey, we're getting better here
- 32:43Speaker 3: as the season goes along, right, you know we're grabbing
- 32:46Speaker 3: a win. You beat the Bengals, you lose to the Browns,
- 32:48Speaker 3: you can at least say, all right, you know that
- 32:50Speaker 3: was on the road against the playoff team. We feel
- 32:52Speaker 3: like we're playing good football. Away we go. You just
- 32:54Speaker 3: get this feeling like your footing isn't as solid. And
- 32:58Speaker 3: if the Ravens come in here and win on Sunday night,
- 33:01Speaker 3: you'll really feel that way. But John's right, the season
- 33:03Speaker 3: isn't on the brink. You want them to play with
- 33:06Speaker 3: a sense of desperation, play like a desperate team without understanding, hey,
- 33:10Speaker 3: it's over right. You want everyone to kind of calm
- 33:13Speaker 3: down and make that happen. Just a thought real quick
- 33:15Speaker 3: on Ingram and the absence. I'm gonna grab Chad Hall
- 33:18Speaker 3: this week, the wide receivers coach John So much of
- 33:20Speaker 3: modern football is about getting guys in space in one
- 33:23Speaker 3: on one matchups and then having a guy who can
- 33:26Speaker 3: beat it. And it's kind of like basketball, right, And
- 33:29Speaker 3: you've got a guy in Ingram that's used to the
- 33:31Speaker 3: spacing Zay, that's used to the spacing that a guy
- 33:33Speaker 3: like Christian Kirk creates. So I want to find out
- 33:35Speaker 3: who can they put on the field because it isn't
- 33:37Speaker 3: Tim Jones, right, is it Elijah Cooks? Is there somebody
- 33:40Speaker 3: that can create the sort of spacing that gets guys
- 33:43Speaker 3: a chance to get open in this offense? Is there
- 33:47Speaker 3: somebody who's sitting there in that room because there's a
- 33:49Speaker 3: couple of guys on the practice squad? Is there anybody
- 33:51Speaker 3: that you can put in there and try and find
- 33:53Speaker 3: something or is it going to be Parker getting better?
- 33:56Speaker 1: I think Parker will definitely get better, I think, and
- 33:58Speaker 1: I'm assuming I'm gonna speak for Chad Hall. He's very
- 34:01Speaker 1: impressed with what he's been able to do in the
- 34:03Speaker 1: short term, and I think that he'll be involved a
- 34:05Speaker 1: lot more going forward.
- 34:07Speaker 2: See, we should hope.
- 34:09Speaker 1: All right, stay with us this week. Of course, we'll
- 34:11Speaker 1: have jagsam on Wednesday and Thursday we'll get ready for
- 34:13Speaker 1: Sunday night football against the Raven's gonna be a huge
- 34:15Speaker 1: game here, and of course we'll get your prepped the
- 34:18Speaker 1: whole week long right here in Jags. Aam
