- 0:00Speaker 1: And so I may I can't. You know, I know
- 0:02Speaker 1: you're tired, you're hot, you're dehydrated, and you're here.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, tell me you're emotional.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I mean you got all a million things, yeah, right
- 0:14Speaker 1: running through you.
- 0:15Speaker 2: And I imagine you.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Can't wait for this to sink in and get home
- 0:18Speaker 1: and set sit down and just let it, you know,
- 0:20Speaker 1: come to you. Uh, talk about not only just how
- 0:22Speaker 1: physical this race is, but also the emotions of winning it.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:26Speaker 3: I mean what I'm about to say sounds like BS.
- 0:29Speaker 3: But it wasn't too hot in the car.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:33Speaker 3: I think, Man, what an incredible opportunity for me to
- 0:41Speaker 3: be a part of and then capitalize on it. You see,
- 0:47Speaker 3: the twenty two have an issue that you had a
- 0:49Speaker 3: left right rear left for a flat and in that moment,
- 0:52Speaker 3: you don't know what happens, and you just you just
- 0:54Speaker 3: run your own race. And the next thing you hear
- 0:56Speaker 3: is you're the leader with twenty to go, and you're like,
- 0:58Speaker 3: oh damn. It felt like the racious started here we
- 1:00Speaker 3: go and uh, I hate that. I start counting the
- 1:06Speaker 3: eggs before they hatch. I started thinking of who to
- 1:09Speaker 3: think how big the celebration is going to be and
- 1:12Speaker 3: then I go in to miss the corner.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Oh oh like easy.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Like focus, and my car was going extremely loose and
- 1:21Speaker 3: I cannot drive these things loose at all. And uh,
- 1:24Speaker 3: I started thinking like, oh man, this is it, this
- 1:26Speaker 3: is over with. Then I started thinking about my son.
- 1:30Speaker 3: I started thinking about what MJ would say, and all
- 1:33Speaker 3: of a sudden the car got better and it was like, oh, okay,
- 1:37Speaker 3: this is our race still. And so those last twenty
- 1:41Speaker 3: laps was just a surreal moment for me to uh,
- 1:45Speaker 3: to just be a part of and be in the
- 1:46Speaker 3: passenger seat. For Yes, I'm extremely wore out mentally physically,
- 1:52Speaker 3: and I just I didn't think anybody. My mind is
- 1:57Speaker 3: not there. But I appreciate Chumbu Casino for coming on
- 2:01Speaker 3: board McDonald's Air Force, LDOS, Robinhood, Toyota Mobi One.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Thankful the cameras right there. I can see everybody on
- 2:07Speaker 2: my fire suit. I feel like right there for sure.
- 2:14Speaker 3: It's been Uh, it's been an incredibly fun but difficult journey.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Thinking about when Blaney won the six hundred after being
- 2:27Speaker 3: in a drought and says.
- 2:29Speaker 2: You don't know any if you can do it anymore.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Right, it's going on three years and four years into
- 2:35Speaker 3: twenty three. My last one was in the forty five.
- 2:39Speaker 2: We did it.
- 2:40Speaker 3: That's the first thing my wife said to me, because
- 2:42Speaker 3: we did it. And uh, you have no many how
- 2:47Speaker 3: many times I told myself I couldn't do it in
- 2:49Speaker 3: those last twenty laps.
- 2:51Speaker 2: And here we are.
- 2:52Speaker 3: So I'm proud to stand up here and sit up
- 2:55Speaker 3: here with you guys. And it's this ship is so hard.
- 3:01Speaker 3: And I look in the mirror and I'm like, here
- 3:03Speaker 3: we go with the five, what's gonna happen? And I
- 3:07Speaker 3: thought under that first and rear white Jackard, you know,
- 3:10Speaker 3: to beat the best, to be the best, you have
- 3:12Speaker 3: to beat the best. We can all sit up here
- 3:14Speaker 3: and say if Kyle Larson is the best at the
- 3:17Speaker 3: time right now, and it's an honor and political privilege
- 3:19Speaker 3: to race with him. But I go back to what
- 3:23Speaker 3: MJ said last year at Darlington things you want more
- 3:26Speaker 3: costs for Larson. Wasn't getting that for me, you know,
- 3:32Speaker 3: And so I just thank everybody.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I think my parents. I think my mom.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I know she was praying for fuel because fuel was
- 3:41Speaker 3: a big issue and we had enough. I thank my
- 3:45Speaker 3: dad from day one. I had fun today, Dad, I
- 3:51Speaker 3: had fun today.
- 3:52Speaker 4: It's so cool, bub I think all of us up here,
- 3:54Speaker 4: you know, grew up racing with with our family. And
- 3:57Speaker 4: to see your emotion, I tell you that I was
- 4:00Speaker 4: a crier, so I appreciate what I'm seeing right now.
- 4:03Speaker 4: And I think it's it's the one thing that's important
- 4:06Speaker 4: to explain to fans. And if you've ever been at
- 4:09Speaker 4: a professional level of sports, is that a lot of
- 4:11Speaker 4: times those emotions are from the work that you've put in, right.
- 4:14Speaker 4: And I think about the I watched your wife Amanda
- 4:16Speaker 4: come out, and I was like, because I've been there, right,
- 4:19Speaker 4: and you you see that first interaction if you see
- 4:22Speaker 4: her and I'm like, oh man, he's not going to
- 4:23Speaker 4: be able to to keep it together. But it was
- 4:26Speaker 4: such a special moment for us to share. And I'm
- 4:27Speaker 4: going to tell you all of us up here are
- 4:30Speaker 4: going to agree that that you being open and honest
- 4:32Speaker 4: about the way you feel. We love that because that
- 4:35Speaker 4: that's that's what I mean. That shows how much you
- 4:38Speaker 4: care and what this means to you. And and I
- 4:41Speaker 4: love seeing your passion and and I know you got overwhelmed.
- 4:45Speaker 2: You could say I was like, he gonna pass out.
- 4:47Speaker 3: He can pass out, right there in front of all this, said,
- 4:49Speaker 3: is this the last time I sat down? Because the
- 4:53Speaker 3: ups and downs is getting to me. Also, i'd be
- 4:55Speaker 3: remissed Amanda's excuse me. A man's grandmother passed Friday night
- 5:04Speaker 3: and she was riding with us from the start of
- 5:08Speaker 3: practice to qualifying and definitely in the race. And it's
- 5:12Speaker 3: just crazy how life works out.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Man. This was the first This is.
- 5:18Speaker 3: The first ride around where I didn't hear the fans.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I heard the wind, I heard the birds. It's a
- 5:25Speaker 3: surreal feeling. I'm trying to walk you guys through it.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Today was different and very reminiscent of the feeling that
- 5:31Speaker 3: I got in Kansas. I didn't hear any noise today,
- 5:37Speaker 3: just heard the opportunity and I seized it.
- 5:39Speaker 5: I love that so much, you know, kind of what
- 5:41Speaker 5: Jamie said. I think one of the things, one of
- 5:44Speaker 5: the reasons I believe that this is such a popular
- 5:46Speaker 5: win across the board in the garage is because you
- 5:48Speaker 5: do take us along on the ride. You take us
- 5:50Speaker 5: along on your emotional ride when things go well, when
- 5:52Speaker 5: things go bad. We've seen you be so close before
- 5:57Speaker 5: in the day twenty five hundred in races, and you
- 5:59Speaker 5: have taken us along for those rides. How have those
- 6:02Speaker 5: moments and those heartbreaks? How did those moments prepare you
- 6:06Speaker 5: for what you had to do in the car against
- 6:08Speaker 5: Kyle Larson.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I've been racing for twenty three years.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Everybody in motorsports knows we lose more than we win, right,
- 6:16Speaker 3: and every loss you learn on all the things you
- 6:19Speaker 3: did wrong. I was very frustrated yesterday and qualifying zecond
- 6:25Speaker 3: just because I felt like I left something out on
- 6:28Speaker 3: the table. Thirteen hundreds out on the table, right, And
- 6:30Speaker 3: we're so we're so competitive and it's so close, and
- 6:34Speaker 3: so you push the absolute limits, and when you do
- 6:37Speaker 3: come up short, you push yourself to learn why. And
- 6:41Speaker 3: there was plenty of opportunities today where I gave up,
- 6:43Speaker 3: and I didn't give up. I missed an opportunity and
- 6:46Speaker 3: I lost out and I learned from it.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I didn't get.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Down, I didn't get out. My mind wandered a little bit,
- 6:53Speaker 3: and I told myself to refocus. There's still a lot
- 6:56Speaker 3: of opportunity in front of us, and here we are.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I want to give you for advice. You don't really
- 7:01Speaker 1: need anybody there. This is the best advice that I
- 7:04Speaker 1: think I got in moments like this, Enjoy every second
- 7:08Speaker 1: of this, like the rest of this. You know, all
- 7:11Speaker 1: the media you're gonna do after this moment, all the
- 7:14Speaker 1: other moments you're gonna have with your family and friends,
- 7:16Speaker 1: your team, whatever party you have tonight with.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Let's send you guys the address. Come on, yeah, we'll
- 7:21Speaker 2: get on over there.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Enjoy it and soak it all in so you know
- 7:25Speaker 1: you never do this again. For the first time, and
- 7:29Speaker 1: you also have uh you know, you're locked into the
- 7:31Speaker 1: playoffs and you can let all of that Holy make
- 7:34Speaker 1: sure roll off your back. I know what that feels like.
- 7:36Speaker 2: That's three years of frustration.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Great feeling not having that pressure going in the next
- 7:41Speaker 1: half moree races. So just take it all in and
- 7:43Speaker 1: enjoy it. Man, you can prepare for the next one
- 7:47Speaker 1: in a day or two. Give yourself about twenty four
- 7:50Speaker 1: next Well we got five left.
- 7:52Speaker 2: But what did Michael say? Well, what did my MJ sadio?
- 7:55Speaker 2: He was just so proud. I said, I wish you
- 7:57Speaker 2: were here for it.
- 7:59Speaker 3: He was like, He's have a drink or two for
- 8:00Speaker 3: me tonight, so we'll be celebrating together in spirit. I
- 8:03Speaker 3: guess go ahead.
- 8:04Speaker 1: See I'm with Jamie listen, don't hold that emotion back,
- 8:07Speaker 1: because you've earned the right not to.
- 8:08Speaker 2: That's the that's the thing.
- 8:09Speaker 1: We've all been here, we've all felt it.
- 8:12Speaker 4: You know, you've earned the right to act like you
- 8:14Speaker 4: want to celebrate, you want to feel like, you want
- 8:16Speaker 4: to be relieved, to be exhausted.
- 8:18Speaker 1: You have earned the seat you're sitting in right now.
- 8:20Speaker 2: So damn race and hell has some fun. Thank you, brother,
- 8:22Speaker 2: I appreciate that.
- 8:23Speaker 4: I think it's been remarkable how you've mentioned the no
- 8:25Speaker 4: noise today, how you've put all that noise.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you deal with more than anyone else in this sport,
- 8:30Speaker 3: and you put that aside and be able to raise
- 8:31Speaker 3: your performance, get this with today.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Thank you appreciate that's awesome.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Thanks for coming up here with us.
- 8:35Speaker 5: Had the bricks taste?
- 8:36Speaker 2: They were good?
- 8:37Speaker 3: I told him, man, that's some competition right there.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Thank you guys. I appreciate you guys so much there
- 8:44Speaker 2: with us.
