- 0:17Speaker 1: how you.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Doing, Hey, Mark, how are you? I'm a long time listener.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I go back to the days when you used to
- 0:25Speaker 2: do the Simon phone.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Well, and looks we're still doing it.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Look at this, you still are. One of your greatest
- 0:32Speaker 2: bits I still laugh about it was you were somebody
- 0:34Speaker 2: at what they thought about euthanasia and their answer to
- 0:38Speaker 2: you was, there's many of them and they're very politically motivated.
- 0:42Speaker 1: That's right. We used to do these man on the
- 0:44Speaker 1: street where we'd ask people questions like how do you
- 0:45Speaker 1: feel about euthanasia? And the guy would say, I think
- 0:48Speaker 1: they should stay over there and not come here.
- 0:50Speaker 2: And it was a great bit. And I'm friends with
- 0:53Speaker 2: Jay Diamond. I know Rich from Myrtle Beach made a comment.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Where Jay Diamond was on the radio years What is
- 1:00Speaker 1: Jay Diamond doing now?
- 1:02Speaker 2: I don't know what he does now, but you're friends
- 1:04Speaker 2: with him. Well, he doesn't do he really doesn't do anything.
- 1:09Speaker 2: He Uh, he's the kind of guy stays up late
- 1:12Speaker 2: at night. I live in California, as you know, it's
- 1:17Speaker 2: the truth. But uh, you know at three in the morning.
- 1:20Speaker 2: He'll call me in our time at midnight, which is
- 1:23Speaker 2: still too late for me. So we never seem to
- 1:25Speaker 2: get it together to talk, but we text a lot.
- 1:28Speaker 1: All right. Well that's uh, I'm glad. I'm glad he's
- 1:31Speaker 1: all right. Thanks.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I met him.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I met him in the street in our Chinese restaurant
- 1:36Speaker 2: one day.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Well, this is one exciting story.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Well, I recognized this voice. I heard a guy arguing
- 1:43Speaker 2: with a waiter saying, what's this? What's this on my bill?
- 1:46Speaker 2: And a waiter said, that's tax and he said, uh,
- 1:49Speaker 2: I didn't need any tax. I don't remember eating anything.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Recognized Henny Young win joke. Any young would always get
- 1:55Speaker 1: the bill. I don't know the tax.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah. So I said your name Jay and he said, yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 2: who are you? And I said, I was just listening
- 2:03Speaker 2: to you on the radio. Used to be on w EVD.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Let me just say something to you. If you're ever
- 2:09Speaker 1: playing Carnegie Hall or somewhere. Don't close with this story.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I need a better story. But Anyway, thanks for calling.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Good hearing from you. Take care. Let's go to Mike
- 2:20Speaker 1: and Florida. Mike, how you doing.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark, that's Mike. I just wanted to thank
- 2:26Speaker 4: you for two things you just said. One is that
- 2:29Speaker 4: we're music to my ears by the way. One was
- 2:32Speaker 4: that the soccer is going to be over a week
- 2:33Speaker 4: from Sunday. I can't wait. And the other was that
- 2:37Speaker 4: you succinctly called these guys communists. Yeah, I already hear
- 2:42Speaker 4: the usual pundits and experts on the conservative Republican side
- 2:46Speaker 4: fun thing all over the place. Well, they're not really communists.
- 2:48Speaker 4: It's socialism.
- 2:49Speaker 1: But it's like people are clear socialism communists. It's exactly
- 2:54Speaker 1: the same thing. The only difference is, of course socialism
- 2:56Speaker 1: is usually voted in. Communists usually take it by revolution.
- 3:00Speaker 1: But so you hey, yes, yeah, you're in Florida then,
- 3:04Speaker 1: and then make it as much fuss about soccer down
- 3:06Speaker 1: there in Florida.
- 3:08Speaker 4: H This place I go to every day for lunch,
- 3:10Speaker 4: and it's their promo that they this promotion where it's soccer.
- 3:14Speaker 3: And the games are on.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Usually there's just the TVs are on and his music
- 3:18Speaker 4: playing the games. The music goes off this the volume,
- 3:21Speaker 4: the audio comes on for the games, the four people
- 3:24Speaker 4: who can't speak English on the panel explaining what soccer is.
- 3:28Speaker 4: And then groups of people come into the place, go
- 3:31Speaker 4: crazy for ninety minutes and then leave without paying, sometimes
- 3:34Speaker 4: and without so Unfortunately the place I go to, it's
- 3:38Speaker 4: very it's concentrated on this idiotic games.
- 3:42Speaker 1: All right, So we got a week from Sunday, soccer
- 3:45Speaker 1: will be over. We'll be done with it, Mike, great call,
- 3:47Speaker 1: Thanks for colling. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 3:51Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Mara. Mark. You're a spot
- 3:54Speaker 3: on when you talk about these commercial building conversions to
- 3:59Speaker 3: residential buildings. I know because I've converted commercial real estate
- 4:06Speaker 3: into residential real estate. And the big problem, as you
- 4:10Speaker 3: pointed out, is running the waist line. Because, as you
- 4:15Speaker 3: point it out and your an iHeart, you have one
- 4:17Speaker 3: bedroom down the floor, you have one waist line going up,
- 4:21Speaker 3: one waist line going down. You have to have wasste
- 4:25Speaker 3: lines for the kitchen for the bedroom, and they have
- 4:28Speaker 3: to crisscross all over the place throughout the building. Then
- 4:32Speaker 3: in the cellar you're going to probably have to change
- 4:35Speaker 3: the main waste lines that come out of the building,
- 4:38Speaker 3: then the ones that go underneath the sidewalk into the
- 4:41Speaker 3: city street, because they have an estimated volume per hour
- 4:46Speaker 3: that they could handle. That's why, for example, when it
- 4:49Speaker 3: rains really heavy, which I hope it doesn't do today
- 4:52Speaker 3: in the residential neighborhoods of New York City, after one
- 4:55Speaker 3: and a half inches an hour, it starts to back up,
- 4:58Speaker 3: and then you start to have water. These problems now
- 5:01Speaker 3: and in these residents, these big office buildings that they convert,
- 5:07Speaker 3: those waistlines have double the size that let's say you
- 5:10Speaker 3: have in a brownstone or in a small small tenement house.
- 5:15Speaker 3: And my attitude is, unless I see it going up,
- 5:20Speaker 3: I want nothing to do with it. And just for
- 5:22Speaker 3: the record, Steve Closo, talk about Manhattan real estate. Don't
- 5:27Speaker 3: talk about Brooklyn real estate, because you're out of your league. Pale.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Although those going up the real estate colums for the or.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Yeah, but for for Manhattan and for a certain area.
- 5:40Speaker 3: For most of what he says, Mark doesn't even fly
- 5:43Speaker 3: over here.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Don't worry he's fact checked.
- 5:46Speaker 3: No, he hasn't. Because all of the dirt avenue apartments
- 5:49Speaker 3: that's built on all toxic soil over there that's all
- 5:52Speaker 3: a condemned site.
- 5:55Speaker 1: We got to go for the news, but great call.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. When we come back. The Great Jimmy
- 6:00Speaker 1: Fail a very funny, great comedian and talk show host.
- 6:02Speaker 1: He'll be with us next on seven ten wor
