- 0:00Speaker 1: And now, Mark Simone on 710WOR. Thank you, Shadow Stevens. Well,
- 0:07Speaker 1: we got a lot to get to. We'll talk with
- 0:10Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman about the governor's race and the debate coming
- 0:13Speaker 1: up on Tuesday. We'll take a look at a lot
- 0:16Speaker 1: of stuff. Now, this ICE shooting, let's just clear up
- 0:19Speaker 1: a lot of stuff here. ICE is in New York
- 0:22Speaker 1: last night, yesterday. And here's the problem.
- 0:26Speaker 2: The....
- 0:28Speaker 1: Department of Homeland Security has asked local police everywhere to
- 0:31Speaker 1: cooperate with ICE. If ICE has to come in and
- 0:34Speaker 1: arrest people, it's the position of the Trump administration. They
- 0:38Speaker 1: would prefer that the illegals just be turned over to
- 0:43Speaker 1: ICE peacefully. For instance, in New York City jails, we
- 0:48Speaker 1: have 15,000 illegals who are also criminals. That's why they're
- 0:53Speaker 1: in jail. They've committed crimes and they're here illegally. ICE
- 0:57Speaker 1: has asked that New York City turn them over, peacefully
- 1:00Speaker 1: turn over these prisoners to ICE so they could be deported.
- 1:04Speaker 1: If you're here illegally, you should be deported. If you're
- 1:06Speaker 1: here illegally and you're a criminal, of course you should
- 1:10Speaker 1: be deported. And that's the Trump administration policy when it
- 1:14Speaker 1: comes to deportation. They want to first and foremost just
- 1:19Speaker 1: go after criminals, illegal criminals committing crimes, rape, robbery, gang members,
- 1:24Speaker 1: that sort of stuff. that are here illegally, deport them.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And they've been doing that. They've done 500,000 already. 500,000
- 1:31Speaker 1: of these criminals have been deported. That's one reason the
- 1:35Speaker 1: crime numbers keep coming down all over America. All these
- 1:38Speaker 1: different cities, crime has dropped. Yeah, that's why, because they've
- 1:42Speaker 1: taken these illegal who are committing crimes. You've gotten, just
- 1:45Speaker 1: here in New York, they've gotten a couple thousand criminals
- 1:47Speaker 1: out of here. Now, they've arrested 500,000 of these criminals
- 1:53Speaker 1: off the streets. 500,000 out of these 500,000, there've been
- 1:57Speaker 1: about three of these incidents where they had to shoot somebody.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Three out of 500,000. It's a pretty good record. So
- 2:07Speaker 1: what happened with this guy yesterday, he's an illegal, he's
- 2:11Speaker 1: gang affiliated, he's got some crimes, he's got a rap sheet,
- 2:16Speaker 1: but it's New York. So even though he confessed that
- 2:19Speaker 1: he was guilty on the last robbery, They gave him probation.
- 2:22Speaker 1: They didn't put him in jail. They let him run
- 2:24Speaker 1: around the streets. So he's got a kid in the car.
- 2:28Speaker 1: It's believed it's his child, a five-year-old. Here's what we know.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Forget all the yelling and screaming and grandstanding. This is
- 2:36Speaker 1: what we know. We have surveillance cameras all over the
- 2:39Speaker 1: streets of New York. You can see on the surveillance
- 2:41Speaker 1: camera that this guy's driving with the kid in his car,
- 2:44Speaker 1: and he sees a parking space, and he backs up
- 2:49Speaker 1: trying to pull into this parking space. And as he's
- 2:51Speaker 1: pulling in, ICE agents approach the car. One on the
- 2:57Speaker 1: driver's side, and then one comes from the passenger's side. Now,
- 3:01Speaker 1: this is a criminal with a rap sheet, and he's
- 3:04Speaker 1: a criminal who's been approached by ICE before. ICE has
- 3:08Speaker 1: tried to detain him before. So a lot of times
- 3:11Speaker 1: when you've got a real career criminal who's had run-ins
- 3:14Speaker 1: with the police, they don't want to get arrested again,
- 3:17Speaker 1: He's also on probation, which would send him to prison.
- 3:20Speaker 1: So he sees the ICE agents approach. They're undercover, but,
- 3:25Speaker 1: you know, he assumes they're cops. And this is what
- 3:28Speaker 1: you can see on the surveillance camera. As they approach
- 3:30Speaker 1: his car, as he's trying to pull into the space,
- 3:33Speaker 1: he sees them and he pulls out of the space,
- 3:36Speaker 1: trying to speed away from them. Well, unfortunately, that's where
- 3:40Speaker 1: it goes out of camera range and there isn't another
- 3:42Speaker 1: surveillance camera on the street. So that's what the police
- 3:45Speaker 1: commissioner has confirmed. On the New York City cameras, you
- 3:48Speaker 1: can see as ICE agents approach, he pulls away. Now,
- 3:51Speaker 1: what the Department of Homeland Security is saying, and they
- 3:55Speaker 1: say they have body cameras that show this. They haven't
- 3:59Speaker 1: released it yet, but they say they will release it later.
- 4:03Speaker 1: They want the investigation to take place first. And then
- 4:06Speaker 1: they said they will release the body camera footage. So
- 4:10Speaker 1: if they release it and their story holds up with
- 4:13Speaker 1: the body cam footage, Then that's it, case closed, shooting justified.
- 4:17Speaker 1: What they're saying is, as the guy tried to speed
- 4:20Speaker 1: away with his car, there were other ICE agents in
- 4:23Speaker 1: cars and they tried to box him in so he
- 4:26Speaker 1: couldn't get away. And then apparently he rammed his car
- 4:31Speaker 1: into these law enforcement cars. He rammed his car into
- 4:35Speaker 1: theirs and then tried to run over some police officers,
- 4:41Speaker 1: some ICE agents who were standing there. Not in cars,
- 4:44Speaker 1: but standing on the street. He tried to run them over. Well,
- 4:46Speaker 1: if this is the case, they're saying that's what happened.
- 4:49Speaker 1: If the body cam footage backs it up, then that's it.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Justified shooting. Absolutely, thousand percent justified. So we're just waiting
- 5:00Speaker 1: to see that body cam footage. I would assume it's
- 5:03Speaker 1: all true, because why would the Secretary of Homeland Security
- 5:06Speaker 1: say all this, release all this, if he couldn't back
- 5:09Speaker 1: it up? So we're just waiting for that body cam footage.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And that's the end of the matter. Despite the grandstanding,
- 5:16Speaker 1: despite Mamdani.
- 5:17Speaker 2: New York City will not stand by while ICE agents
- 5:20Speaker 2: shoot New Yorkers. And we will not back down from
- 5:24Speaker 2: the demand that so many, including myself, have put forward
- 5:27Speaker 2: time and again. This is an agency that must be abolished.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Okay, they're not shooting New Yorkers. No New Yorkers are
- 5:33Speaker 1: targets of ICE. They're going after illegals. who are not
- 5:37Speaker 1: supposed to be here, illegals, and only after illegals have
- 5:40Speaker 1: committed crimes and are gang-affiliated or have rap sheets. And now,
- 5:45Speaker 1: after this, Mamdani goes into a rage, grandstanding like crazy.
- 5:50Speaker 1: He says he was on the phone. Listen to this.
- 5:52Speaker 2: For the past two hours, I have been on the
- 5:55Speaker 2: phone with President Trump and Secretary Mullen, negotiating the release
- 6:00Speaker 2: of the man ICE agents shot. Those negotiations were unsuccessful.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Okay, here's the real story. He was on the phone
- 6:07Speaker 1: with Mullen and the Department of Homeland Security for two hours. Yes,
- 6:13Speaker 1: the president talked to him, but that was five minutes
- 6:15Speaker 1: of the two hours. Now, here's the problem. When he
- 6:20Speaker 1: demanded the release of this guy, the Trump administration agreed
- 6:24Speaker 1: to release the guy. They said they would release him
- 6:27Speaker 1: to the NYPD as long as the NYPD would hold
- 6:31Speaker 1: the guy in custody. That's not what Mamdani was asking for.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Mamdani demanded the guy be released back into the streets.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Dangerous criminal. He wanted him released back into the streets.
- 6:46Speaker 1: This is obviously irrational, obviously reckless, stupid. Now, the ICE
- 6:53Speaker 1: agents fired at the car. Apparently, they fired seven shots.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Only one went through the windshield. You can see one
- 7:00Speaker 1: bullet hole, and it hit this illegal officer. in the neck.
- 7:05Speaker 1: He was taken to the hospital. Apparently, he was not
- 7:08Speaker 1: badly hurt, not too badly hurt, because they released him.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Hours later, they released him. So, that was what Mamdani
- 7:16Speaker 1: was demanding. He was demanding they let this guy go,
- 7:19Speaker 1: let him back into the streets. This criminal with the
- 7:22Speaker 1: rap sheet, this is typical Mamdani. Criminal, career criminal, gang affiliations,
- 7:28Speaker 1: let him roam the streets. That's what Mamdani was fighting for. Now,
- 7:33Speaker 1: One reason he might be grandstanding like crazy, this is
- 7:37Speaker 1: October 8th yesterday. October 7th, Mamdani got himself into a
- 7:43Speaker 1: lot of trouble. Mamdani crossed a line on October 7th.
- 7:47Speaker 1: He's openly anti-Semitic, very anti-Israel, but to the point where
- 7:52Speaker 1: it's obvious anti-Semitism. You know, if you hate Israel, the country,
- 7:59Speaker 1: for some reason, that's one thing. You lay out exactly
- 8:02Speaker 1: what you don't want them to do And you try
- 8:04Speaker 1: to get them to stop doing something. If you want
- 8:07Speaker 1: Israel gone, abolished, then you're anti-Semitic. You know, they keep saying,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I'm just anti-Israel. You can't separate the two completely. Every
- 8:16Speaker 1: ethnic group has a homeland, a country. The French have
- 8:19Speaker 1: a country. It's called France. Germany has a country. It's
- 8:22Speaker 1: called Germany. The Brits have a country. It's called the UK, England.
- 8:28Speaker 1: To say that one ethnic group, the Jews, can't have
- 8:31Speaker 1: a homeland... It's absolute anti-Semitism. Of course they have to
- 8:37Speaker 1: have a homeland. Of course they should have a homeland.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Of course they should have a country. So it's real anti-Semitism.
- 8:43Speaker 1: But October 7th, he pretended to be somewhat supportive of
- 8:49Speaker 1: the Jews by going to this vigil, this candlelight vigil
- 8:53Speaker 1: for those killed on October 7th. But then he published
- 8:57Speaker 1: online the most disgusting, vile, anti-Semitic, stuff against Jews, against Israel.
- 9:05Speaker 1: It was just horrifying. And the reason I say he
- 9:08Speaker 1: crossed the line, there were people that were defending him
- 9:11Speaker 1: on his anti-Semitism. You know, even political commentators. You know,
- 9:16Speaker 1: Mark Halpern, who, this guy's all over the map, but
- 9:20Speaker 1: even he always defended Mamdani. He said, you know, obviously
- 9:25Speaker 1: he's not fond of Jews, but you're throwing the anti-Semitism
- 9:28Speaker 1: word around too much. He was defending. There were people
- 9:31Speaker 1: like that. Well, after October 7th, they all came out
- 9:35Speaker 1: publicly and said, I was wrong. This guy is an anti-Semite.
- 9:39Speaker 1: So some of the people, even some of the Democrats
- 9:41Speaker 1: who were defending Mamdani after October 7th and what he
- 9:45Speaker 1: published said, to do this, to publish this anytime is horrible.
- 9:50Speaker 1: To do it on October 7th is absolutely an outrage.
- 9:54Speaker 1: So even a lot of the people defending Mondani turned
- 9:58Speaker 1: on him. They said he clearly is deeply, deeply anti-Semitic.
- 10:02Speaker 1: So he went too far. Now, the problem is he
- 10:06Speaker 1: was trying to play both sides of the aisle, the Jews,
- 10:09Speaker 1: the Jew haters. But he ended up getting them all
- 10:12Speaker 1: mad at him. Jews were jeering him. And then his
- 10:22Speaker 1: anti-Semitic base, well, they were mad at him too for
- 10:25Speaker 1: going to the vigil. So clearly he crossed the line,
- 10:38Speaker 1: really crossed the line. And lost both sides. So that's
- 10:41Speaker 1: why when this ICE shooting happened, I think he went
- 10:45Speaker 1: crazy trying to grandstand off it. Hey, now there's another
- 10:49Speaker 1: problem here. Mamdani appointed all these crazies into all these
- 10:52Speaker 1: departments here. He's got a new transportation secretary. You know,
- 10:56Speaker 1: they always get this war on cars. First, they put
- 10:59Speaker 1: in bike lanes. Then there's certain Bloomberg was guilty of this,
- 11:02Speaker 1: this war on cars. Made a pedestrian plaza right in
- 11:06Speaker 1: the middle of Times Square. No cars. Herald Square, it's
- 11:10Speaker 1: just ridiculous. You look at, look out the window here,
- 11:12Speaker 1: Sixth Avenue. Look at that. Used to be like a
- 11:15Speaker 1: five-lane street. Now it's two lanes of bike lanes. It's
- 11:19Speaker 1: another bike lane. It's a pedicab lane. It's an electric
- 11:22Speaker 1: scooter lane. Maybe there's one lane for cars who could,
- 11:25Speaker 1: it's ridiculous. So they screwed up the streets. They're trying
- 11:29Speaker 1: to stop, you know, make more, they want to do
- 11:30Speaker 1: more pedestrian plazas. But listen to this, Mondani's transportation boss.
- 11:35Speaker 1: They're really trying to win this war on cars. They're
- 11:38Speaker 1: going to go after parking spaces. They're going to go
- 11:42Speaker 1: after parking. As the Department of Transportation Commissioner Mike Flynn
- 11:46Speaker 1: told an audience that car owners are wealthy elitists and
- 11:52Speaker 1: we should go after them. He said car owning is
- 11:56Speaker 1: a burden for the lower income. He's going to target parking.
- 12:00Speaker 1: He said it's a giveaway. So I guess they're going
- 12:02Speaker 1: to go after the parking spaces. and make it impossible
- 12:07Speaker 1: to park. They'll do anything to get these cars to
- 12:09Speaker 1: go away. Now, if you park in a garage in
- 12:13Speaker 1: New York, or you live in a building where you
- 12:15Speaker 1: got a garage, they could try to go after the garages.
- 12:19Speaker 1: That's tough though, because all these, the garage, like the
- 12:22Speaker 1: one over there, they rent it from the building. The
- 12:25Speaker 1: building is the landlord, not the city. But you'll see
- 12:28Speaker 1: the city, there are municipal lots. You'll see them probably
- 12:31Speaker 1: go after those. They're trying to do this. Now, how
- 12:34Speaker 1: many people own cars? Staten Island, 85% have cars. Queens, 63%
- 12:44Speaker 1: have cars. This is the majority in Queens and Staten Island. Brooklyn,
- 12:48Speaker 1: it's 45%, about half. The Bronx, it's 40%. Manhattan, just 23%
- 12:57Speaker 1: have cars. But there are some Democrats, and this is ridiculous,
- 13:02Speaker 1: punishing drivers by making commuting harder. It doesn't force people
- 13:07Speaker 1: onto bikes in public transit. It just puts an incredible
- 13:10Speaker 1: burden on them. A lot of people are using cars
- 13:13Speaker 1: because they need to use a car for one reason
- 13:14Speaker 1: or another. And as another person pointed out, transportation is
- 13:21Speaker 1: not up to one person. Everybody should have choices. Where's
- 13:26Speaker 1: your freedom of choice? You want to have a car?
- 13:29Speaker 1: You want to have a bike? It should be a
- 13:31Speaker 1: matter of choice, not the government telling you how you're
- 13:35Speaker 1: allowed to get around Absolutely ridiculous. Hey, anybody tells you
- 13:39Speaker 1: New York is dying? Not the case. Manhattan rent. You know,
- 13:45Speaker 1: the rental market's going crazy in Manhattan. People are moving
- 13:47Speaker 1: here like crazy. Go try to rent an apartment. You
- 13:49Speaker 1: can't do it right now. And if you can, you
- 13:51Speaker 1: can find one. The rent is at an all-time high.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Rent average now is $ 6, 800 a month. $ 6, 800 a month.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Manhattan rent's going crazy. Brooklyn has logged the busiest September
- 14:07Speaker 1: in six years. People coming to New York more than ever.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Vacancy rate is now 1.5%. Fifth consecutive year. That's really low.
- 14:20Speaker 1: That's incredibly low. That's because the vacancy rate is minuscule
- 14:26Speaker 1: and there's no inventory. Inventory has now declined year over
- 14:31Speaker 1: year for two straight years. So rental going crazy right now,
- 14:36Speaker 1: which means people are moving here. And remember, people come,
- 14:39Speaker 1: all the people renting, all these people come and rent.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Many of them will start to buy next year. A
- 14:44Speaker 1: lot of people who are renting are trying out a place,
- 14:47Speaker 1: a city. And then if they like it a year,
- 14:50Speaker 1: two years, they decide to buy. So when the rental
- 14:53Speaker 1: market goes crazy, it means the buying market will go
- 14:56Speaker 1: crazy next year and the year after. Hey, we'll take
- 14:58Speaker 1: some calls next 800-321- 0710 is the number. Give me
- 15:04Speaker 1: a call, especially if you're a new caller. 800-321-0710.
