- 0:00Speaker 1: Now more of the Mark Simone Show on seven to
- 0:03Speaker 1: ten wor filling in for Mark.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Here again is Ken Rosato.
- 0:08Speaker 1: So nice to be with you on a beautiful Friday,
- 0:11Speaker 1: and a guy I'm sure has great weekend plans I
- 0:13Speaker 1: saw to him now Vincent in Brooklyn, Good morning.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Sir, Good morning Ken. Could you hear me?
- 0:18Speaker 3: I can hear you? Agree?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna probably go down to the shore, Kevin.
- 0:22Speaker 2: What I wanted to talk about is in Bologna, Italy
- 0:26Speaker 2: right now these past few nights, they're going through their
- 0:29Speaker 2: same George Floyd's into the Apparently what happened is this
- 0:35Speaker 2: Arabian man who lived in this housing complex was having
- 0:38Speaker 2: a psychotic episode, going around to all the people's doors
- 0:42Speaker 2: in the courtyard, banging on their doors, garages, screaming stuff,
- 0:47Speaker 2: yelling just nonsense, then laying on the floor spitting around
- 0:52Speaker 2: vibn The guy was obviously either on drugs or psychotic,
- 0:55Speaker 2: so they called the police and one of the cops
- 0:59Speaker 2: was small. Even though in Italy they don't require the
- 1:02Speaker 2: cops to wear body cameras, this guy bought one from
- 1:05Speaker 2: the police supplies in the United States, and this is
- 1:09Speaker 2: what's vindicating him. So It shows the police getting out
- 1:12Speaker 2: of the car going over to the guy, trying to
- 1:15Speaker 2: talk to him. The guy's going off, so then they
- 1:18Speaker 2: went to put the plastic cancuffs behind the guy just
- 1:22Speaker 2: to take him to the hospital. The guy's going crazy.
- 1:24Speaker 2: It took three people to get him down. The guy
- 1:27Speaker 2: starts having going into arrest. Immediately, the ambulance comes with
- 1:33Speaker 2: the EMS personnel and they're working on the guy to
- 1:37Speaker 2: guy try and revive him. And even though the guy
- 1:40Speaker 2: was crazy and he was on something, the people over
- 1:44Speaker 2: there are tearing up the place to ride, and his mother,
- 1:48Speaker 2: Elizabe Morocco, says, the police executed my son. She's thrown
- 1:53Speaker 2: gasoline on the fire. And meanwhile all the citizenry who
- 1:58Speaker 2: live in the housing complex who took videos with their
- 2:01Speaker 2: cell phones are saying that's not the case at all.
- 2:04Speaker 2: The guy was going crazy, bringing down the vesting off
- 2:07Speaker 2: people's doors and everything in vincent.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry, it's right, just in fairness because my family,
- 2:13Speaker 1: my mother's side, comes from Amilia Romania. Bologna is communist.
- 2:17Speaker 1: It always has been.
- 2:19Speaker 3: They are crazy.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I mean they I wouldn't set it's a beautiful city,
- 2:24Speaker 1: but they are crazy. Comedies inn and they have been
- 2:27Speaker 1: for over one hundred years. I'm sorry, I just wanted.
- 2:29Speaker 2: To set all my friends who live in Milan, they
- 2:31Speaker 2: called that the red zone.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it is the red zone. One of the reasons
- 2:35Speaker 1: why my mother's family fled. They wanted to get away
- 2:38Speaker 1: from the gomutis they.
- 2:39Speaker 2: The versus the team It till this day the Communist
- 2:42Speaker 2: Party is not no longer an official party in Italy.
- 2:46Speaker 2: But in all the bars and everything, you see the
- 2:49Speaker 2: hammer and sickle, the flags and everything, it's sick. I
- 2:52Speaker 2: only went there once. I went to the Piazza majority
- 2:56Speaker 2: to go to the museums and do that. Then I
- 2:59Speaker 2: got the hell out.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Of the Yeah, otherwise they they they'll they'll start talking,
- 3:03Speaker 1: they'll pick your brain. I made the mistake once of
- 3:08Speaker 1: answering a question. Somebody said, so you know politically in
- 3:11Speaker 1: the US who you support, and I stupidly talked about it,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and that was it.
- 3:14Speaker 3: I got to tack.
- 3:17Speaker 2: T to put poison in your food.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Yeah, although the food is good if they don't poisons.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Go there. You look at the windows of the shops,
- 3:26Speaker 2: you see the old ladies rolling out the dough to
- 3:29Speaker 2: make the totalini and everything. It's fantastic. The food is great.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Just make sure they don't have a knife in there.
- 3:35Speaker 3: That's it.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Vincent, You're awesome. Enjoy down the shore this weekend. It's
- 3:40Speaker 1: perfect weather, buddy, have a great We have a great weekend.
- 3:43Speaker 2: You did, they can't can't.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Bye bye, John and Norwalk. Good morning to.
- 3:48Speaker 4: You, Good morning, Good morning Ken.
- 3:51Speaker 3: How are you, sir?
- 3:53Speaker 4: I am I am well. And by the way, I
- 3:56Speaker 4: think that you're doing a great job taking my place
- 4:00Speaker 4: while he's enjoying himself for the weekend.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Thank you, sir. I appreciate it.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Nobody could take Mark's places. I'm just sitting in the
- 4:06Speaker 1: seat to keep it warm, but I appreciate that.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Well, you're doing a great job. Anyway, I have I
- 4:13Speaker 4: have one question, simple question, and if you have time,
- 4:16Speaker 4: I have a great knittin Yahu story. I'm just wondering
- 4:21Speaker 4: with Mandami announcing that people should get out in the streets.
- 4:27Speaker 4: If net and Yahoo comes to New York City and
- 4:30Speaker 4: demonstrate if something happens to him, if something happens to people,
- 4:36Speaker 4: if buildings start getting burned, cars start getting overturned, that
- 4:39Speaker 4: kind of thing, wouldn't he be responsible for this? I mean,
- 4:43Speaker 4: they they try to pin uh the insurrection on Trump falsely,
- 4:51Speaker 4: wouldn't that be about basically the same thing?
- 4:54Speaker 1: Well, you would think, but it can't be. Elected officials
- 4:57Speaker 1: are immune from that. But yeah, you would think if
- 5:00Speaker 1: the person is out there egging it on, I mean,
- 5:02Speaker 1: isn't that inciting a riot potentially? I mean he could
- 5:05Speaker 1: always say no, I was just advising people to go
- 5:07Speaker 1: out and exercise their freedom of speech. That's that would
- 5:10Speaker 1: be his defense. But yes, you and I know know
- 5:13Speaker 1: differently that it literally is pouring gas on a fire,
- 5:19Speaker 1: and he wants, I think in the back of his
- 5:21Speaker 1: mind he wants to recreate the summer of twenty twenty
- 5:25Speaker 1: and see it all over again, and God forbid, we
- 5:27Speaker 1: don't want to see that.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I think you're absolutely right. And I just think
- 5:31Speaker 4: he's really just a horrible person. Thank God. I don't
- 5:35Speaker 4: live in New York, but I do live in Connecticut unfortunately,
- 5:38Speaker 4: So it's you know which one is worse? Would you
- 5:42Speaker 4: like to hear my quick?
- 5:44Speaker 3: Can you do it in like thirty seconds? Because then
- 5:46Speaker 3: we had to go to commercial Sure.
- 5:48Speaker 4: I can A long long time ago Netta, who was
- 5:52Speaker 4: I believe it was the Defense Minister? And Wolf Blitzer
- 5:56Speaker 4: from CNN was doing an interview with him, and at
- 6:00Speaker 4: that time, while he was doing the interview, they started
- 6:04Speaker 4: getting rocket attacks or mortar attacks, whatever it was. And NetTel,
- 6:10Speaker 4: who stood there, he wasn't really moving, and wolf Blitzer
- 6:14Speaker 4: jumped underneath the table. I mean he was really scared.
- 6:17Speaker 4: And who had that grin on his face and he said,
- 6:20Speaker 4: mister Blitzer, you have to understand, in Israel, diplomacy is
- 6:25Speaker 4: a contact sport. And I've loved Netta who ever since,
- 6:30Speaker 4: ever since I heard him say that, I thought it
- 6:32Speaker 4: was wonderful.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean he put his money where his mouth is.
- 6:35Speaker 1: They all served in the military. They know what it's like.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Maybe there's something to that that we should all think about.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Remember when every president at some point served in the military.
- 6:43Speaker 4: That's it, that's right. I served in the Middle I
- 6:46Speaker 4: was in there for a Semitic and I didn't you
- 6:49Speaker 4: know my year in Vietnam.
- 6:50Speaker 2: God.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Well, thank you for your service, sir. I appreciate it,
- 6:55Speaker 1: and we appreciate the phone call. Thank you John and Norwalk,
- 6:58Speaker 1: Thank you Ken.
- 6:59Speaker 3: I have a good weekend. We're gonna take we got
- 7:01Speaker 3: a few seconds here, Let's go to Edin Huntington.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Hello, ed, Hey, good morning. Just wanted to touch on
- 7:07Speaker 5: the shooting you were just talking about. I was a
- 7:10Speaker 5: New York City police sigeant thirty six years wow. And
- 7:13Speaker 5: someone one said to me, why don't I don't understand
- 7:15Speaker 5: why you guys don't shoot at people's legs. I said,
- 7:17Speaker 5: you're right, you don't understand. I said, the thread is
- 7:20Speaker 5: a gun, a knife. But bet I'm looking at the
- 7:22Speaker 5: threat and I'm gonna miss his legs. The best place
- 7:25Speaker 5: to shoot is set a mask. That's how you stop
- 7:27Speaker 5: them play.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Yeah, my dad was a cup My dad was He
- 7:30Speaker 1: was Westchester County Police, so they didn't see the action
- 7:32Speaker 1: you would have seen. But yeah, he said, that's what
- 7:35Speaker 1: you shoot at the biggest target. So that if that's
- 7:38Speaker 1: their stomach, their chest, that's what you're going on. You
- 7:40Speaker 1: don't you don't hope you'll hit their left toe, because
- 7:42Speaker 1: then you're gonna miss.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Uh.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Yeah, right, You know what, You can't look at his
- 7:46Speaker 5: tall You gotta look at the gun, the knife they throwing,
- 7:49Speaker 5: whatever they do with you. You gotta look at the
- 7:50Speaker 5: thread too.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Your job is to stop the force. Your job is
- 7:54Speaker 1: to stop what's happening right then, it's not to let's
- 7:56Speaker 1: inflict the least amount of harm. If you're gonna pull
- 7:58Speaker 1: your gun and shoot, there's a weezy for it.
- 8:00Speaker 3: And it's not.
- 8:00Speaker 1: About well, let's hope he'll get scared by it. That's
- 8:03Speaker 1: not the point. It's to neutralize the actor in that case.
- 8:08Speaker 1: So thank you very much, Ed, and thank you for
- 8:09Speaker 1: your service as a sergeant. We appreciate you.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Thank you.
