3:07
Speaker 5: The show, Good morning.
3:08
Speaker 2: How many years is Kexs Rikaine that's been having Oh gosh,
3:11
Speaker 2: that is.
3:11
Speaker 6: A great question that I do not have an answer for.
3:14
Speaker 6: But many many years, many years.
3:17
Speaker 2: Well, it's a great event, and tell us exactly For
3:19
Speaker 2: people that have never been to Kekes, Rikaine has explained
3:22
Speaker 2: exactly what happened.
3:23
Speaker 6: Sure, so we set up at the Red Carpet parking lot.
3:26
Speaker 6: We have a tent, tables, chairs, a couple of beer trailers.
3:31
Speaker 6: The KCHA Caravan will be there with adoptable dogs.
3:35
Speaker 2: And I love that it's care care, care of.
3:38
Speaker 6: And yes, we love a good alliteration. We love a
3:42
Speaker 6: good play on words. So yeah, it's just a really fun,
3:47
Speaker 6: laid back afternoon of people coming together that love shelter, animals,
3:51
Speaker 6: that love dogs. Uh, just raising awareness and support for KCHA.
3:56
Speaker 2: I love when I have Angie Gillenwater around with me
3:58
Speaker 2: every Friday. She always when she promoting this thing, Angie
4:01
Speaker 2: always says, there's dogs and beer. What more could you do?
4:04
Speaker 4: Exactly right, I mean hello, I mean hold beer, cold noses.
4:10
Speaker 5: They go together afternoon.
4:11
Speaker 2: It is the weather, you know, of course long a
4:14
Speaker 2: few days away, but as of right now, Brian Hughes says,
4:17
Speaker 2: the weather's going to be absolutely fantastic out there, and
4:19
Speaker 2: there is some college football on. It's not the you know, W.
4:22
Speaker 2: Marshall or whatever. There is some college football on. So well,
4:24
Speaker 2: he's got some TVs out there, so maybe if there's
4:26
Speaker 2: a game you're interested in, you won't you won't have
4:29
Speaker 2: to missit. So you got there, lots of great food,
4:31
Speaker 2: lots of great drink, and again lots of opportunities to
4:35
Speaker 2: help out the shelter. And there's things that go on
4:37
Speaker 2: there besides just buying tickets.
4:39
Speaker 6: Right, Yeah, we have t shirts available, we have DJ
4:43
Speaker 6: Allie is going to be there, Josh Pantry will be
4:46
Speaker 6: joining us later in the afternoon for some music. Some
4:50
Speaker 6: of our sponsors will have some table set up with
4:53
Speaker 6: goodies and some free giveaways. So yeah, it's just a
4:57
Speaker 6: really it's just a really fun after and in a
5:00
Speaker 6: really great way to spend a Saturday.
5:01
Speaker 2: And you couldn't do this without the sponsors.
5:03
Speaker 6: Absolutely not. Yes, our our sponsors are incredible. We're really
5:08
Speaker 6: thankful for their partnership and their investment not only in
5:12
Speaker 6: the event, but in Kseha's work and mission throughout the year.
5:16
Speaker 6: We have a very wonderful community and we're just so
5:19
Speaker 6: thankful for their support.
5:20
Speaker 2: And you know, you guys have had I mean, I
5:22
Speaker 2: was going to say you've had a rough couple of months,
5:25
Speaker 2: but uh, you know, that's kind of comes with the territory.
5:28
Speaker 2: But most recently you've been dealing with the with the
5:30
Speaker 2: aftermath with the flooding last Sunday. I know, when I
5:33
Speaker 2: talked to Angie, she talked about how the community had
5:36
Speaker 2: really come out to help Tree remove all the things
5:38
Speaker 2: that nature house.
5:39
Speaker 6: The recovery going aboud, it's going pretty good, uhur. Our
5:42
Speaker 6: staff really came together to get everything cleaned up that
5:47
Speaker 6: Monday that we.
5:48
Speaker 5: Had the aftermath from that storm.
5:51
Speaker 6: Bolts was out on Monday removing the two trees that
5:54
Speaker 6: had fallen on our property, so we were uh power
5:59
Speaker 6: was restored Monday afternoon, so we were ready to open
6:02
Speaker 6: on Tuesday, but we just Like I said, we have
6:04
Speaker 6: a really great community, but we also have an incredible
6:07
Speaker 6: staff that's just really committed to making sure that animals
6:10
Speaker 6: are taken care of and that you know, everything was
6:15
Speaker 6: cleaned up and ready to go for Tuesday of Animals.
6:18
Speaker 4: Yeah, and really the shelter does a awesome job. You
6:22
Speaker 4: guys not only help with fostering animals, but the medical
6:26
Speaker 4: care you guys do. You'll see these dogs or cats
6:30
Speaker 4: that you know people dump or whatever you know, are sick,
6:33
Speaker 4: and you guys rise to the challenge every time. My
6:37
Speaker 4: last one, two, three, four dogs have come from the shelter.
6:41
Speaker 4: We adopt senior dogs and somebody's got to take Yeah. Yeah,
6:46
Speaker 4: I mean it's a little rough when they passed, but
6:48
Speaker 4: we chime back in again and go grab another one.
6:51
Speaker 2: So last one, Oh what a beast. Chihuahuas are crazy. Yeah,
6:56
Speaker 2: I had no idea. Now you're not crazier than I am.
7:00
Speaker 2: That's saying something.
7:01
Speaker 7: It is.
7:02
Speaker 2: We're talking about Kekes for Canines, which is going to
7:04
Speaker 2: be this Saturday at the Red Carpet Lounge to Charleston,
7:06
Speaker 2: The Dave Allen Show on five Vidieline Broncho in part
7:08
Speaker 2: by Pinnacle consultants. When environmental questions come up into building.

7:15
Speaker 2: mold and indoor air quality issues with accredited LAMB testing

7:20
Speaker 2: Pinnacle Corp dot net. Helping you understand your environment because
7:23
Speaker 2: what you don't know can't hurt you. Now, how do
7:25
Speaker 2: people get tickets?
7:26
Speaker 6: So we have tickets available online if you head over
7:29
Speaker 6: to Kchase facebook page. Cakes for Canines has an event
7:33
Speaker 6: page there and getting tickets is super easy. We have
7:38
Speaker 6: our early bird pricing still going on through Friday, so
7:41
Speaker 6: you can save a little bit of money if you
7:42
Speaker 6: get your tickets before the event, or we'll have tickets
7:45
Speaker 6: available at the door.
7:47
Speaker 2: And it would really behoove people to try to get
7:52
Speaker 2: their tickets ahead of time. Absolutely, it just helps everybody.
7:55
Speaker 2: I'm the number one the person's going to be able
7:57
Speaker 2: to get in and we're not saying we're too crowded.
8:00
Speaker 2: But also it gives you an idea for the head count.
8:01
Speaker 6: Exactly how many people we can expect. Yeah, so you
8:05
Speaker 6: save a little you secure your spot at the event,
8:07
Speaker 6: and you get to help shelter pets.
8:08
Speaker 4: It's a win win with and it's a great get
8:11
Speaker 4: And if you can't make it, you can still make
8:12
Speaker 4: a donation.
8:13
Speaker 6: Absolutely. We have a donation button on the event ticketing page.
8:17
Speaker 6: You can make a gift on our website. We're always
8:19
Speaker 6: looking for supplies too, So if you've got dog food,
8:23
Speaker 6: cat food, blankets, toys, any of that, you can drop
8:25
Speaker 6: that off at the shelter or drop it off at
8:28
Speaker 6: the event and we'll take it back to the shelter.
8:29
Speaker 2: Absolutely, and that's all help. That's one of the things
8:32
Speaker 2: we talk about in our Adopt Me Please put of
8:34
Speaker 2: the Week that we do every Friday with Angie. One
8:36
Speaker 2: of the things that we like to talk about there
8:38
Speaker 2: is that there are so many ways. You know, they
8:40
Speaker 2: say you can't save them all, and there are people
8:42
Speaker 2: that love animals that can't. Necessarily they live in an
8:45
Speaker 2: apartment complex, or maybe they've got little kids and they're
8:48
Speaker 2: just you know, having an animal is not in the
8:52
Speaker 2: cards for them at that time. But you can donate.
8:55
Speaker 2: You can donate supplies, you can come up and take
8:59
Speaker 2: dogs for walk, you can foster them. Yeah dogs and cats, yes.
9:04
Speaker 6: Yep, absolutely, Yeah, there's whatever way you're able to support
9:08
Speaker 6: or however you want to be involved. We have a
9:10
Speaker 6: way for you to help out. We're currently ellens Is.
9:16
Speaker 6: We're in a partnership with Ellen's ice Cream downtown. So
9:19
Speaker 6: if you borrow a buddy, if you take a dog
9:21
Speaker 6: out for a couple of hours, gives them a break
9:23
Speaker 6: from a shelter life, you can take them down to Ellen's,
9:25
Speaker 6: get them a free pub cup so they can get
9:28
Speaker 6: something sweet while they're out. But yeah, there's there's an
9:32
Speaker 6: opportunity for anybody to to support and to get involved.
9:36
Speaker 2: We had a text here says how is sweet? And
9:38
Speaker 2: I don't know if this is layla or La la
9:41
Speaker 2: la la, you know what I'm talking about? Uh, how well,
9:44
Speaker 2: the first part of the question was how is how
9:46
Speaker 2: is is that dog doing?
9:48
Speaker 3: Oh you know what?
9:49
Speaker 6: I actually I don't know. I would have to get
9:52
Speaker 6: back to you.
9:52
Speaker 2: Okay.
9:53
Speaker 8: Yeah.
9:53
Speaker 2: Also Texas, I just saw on the shelters Facebook page
9:55
Speaker 2: dog just brought in a little while ago that was
9:57
Speaker 2: hit by a car. Thankfully looks to have no broken bones. People,
10:01
Speaker 2: please watch out for these animals out on the road.
10:02
Speaker 6: Absolutely, yeah, we you know, like STIs, we have an
10:06
Speaker 6: amazing medical team that will take care of the animals.
10:09
Speaker 5: But yeah, just be extra vigilant out there, and just yeah,
10:13
Speaker 5: keep an.
10:13
Speaker 4: Eye out, watch out for small pets and children because
10:15
Speaker 4: kids are back at school.
10:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, and of course, as I said, Steve and I
10:21
Speaker 2: will be out there for ninety eight seven a month,
10:23
Speaker 2: and then there'll be several other of us out there
10:25
Speaker 2: because one thing that the WVRC Media Charleston group does
10:29
Speaker 2: is we all love animals and we all like to
10:32
Speaker 2: have a party. So we're all going to be there
10:34
Speaker 2: for both of those animals.
10:35
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it's always a good time. I've been to
10:38
Speaker 4: everyone back in when it started forty nine years ago,
10:41
Speaker 4: so it's going to be a good time. Don't miss
10:44
Speaker 4: out at the red carpet this Saturday, four o'clock.
10:47
Speaker 2: All right, again, give us the website and social media
10:50
Speaker 2: and everything so people can Yeah.
10:52
Speaker 6: You can head to kha's Facebook page and look for
10:56
Speaker 6: the Cakes for Canines event page there and the link
10:59
Speaker 6: for tickets right there for you.
11:01
Speaker 2: And we'll start about four o'clock, as I said, fourida
11:04
Speaker 2: seven ish, but at midnight. You know, Steve and I
11:08
Speaker 2: were talking about this yesterday because he and I both
11:11
Speaker 2: that day have got like five different events that we
11:13
Speaker 2: have to be at. So but we can assure you
11:15
Speaker 2: by four o'clock. Will be there four to four thirty.
11:18
Speaker 2: Animal and I will be there, and I think several
11:19
Speaker 2: other as I said, several our other folks here into
11:22
Speaker 2: Bilding going to be there as well. It's always a
11:24
Speaker 2: pleasure to have with you on the show. Thanks for
11:26
Speaker 2: being here. And again Canines will be this coming Saturday.
11:30
Speaker 2: It starts at four o'clock at the Red Carpet Lounge
11:33
Speaker 2: Elizabeth Street and Charles Big shout out to PG and
11:35
Speaker 2: all those folks over there for making that happen. And
11:37
Speaker 2: I'll talk about this a little bit later on Steve.
11:39
Speaker 2: Totally unrelated to this. On Thursday, Steve and I are
11:43
Speaker 2: going to be at Painted Capital City Green. Yes, we
11:46
Speaker 2: are to build No Flight School and I'm going to
11:49
Speaker 2: fly a plane. Now do you know this story, Amanda.
11:54
Speaker 2: So we do Painted Capital City Green. It's a fundraiser
11:58
Speaker 2: for the Big Green from Marsh University and they do
12:00
Speaker 2: it once a year up at bill No Flight School
12:02
Speaker 2: by the airport. And the way they do it is
12:06
Speaker 2: they bring people in, you know, through the entryway, but
12:08
Speaker 2: then they actually walk you across the runway and they're
12:11
Speaker 2: you know, it's obviously it's the whole FAA thing. They
12:13
Speaker 2: want to make sure that they get everybody in there
12:15
Speaker 2: safely to get them under the hangar. There are some
12:18
Speaker 2: planes because Marshall has a very robust flight school now
12:22
Speaker 2: and so they have some planes out there on display.
12:25
Speaker 2: And let's just say a couple of years ago we
12:27
Speaker 2: found out the hard way that they don't like when
12:29
Speaker 2: you get in the planes, right, Steve, I don't know
12:32
Speaker 2: what you're talking about.
12:33
Speaker 4: Yeah, I just you know, they don't they I mean,
12:37
Speaker 4: they'll come and you know, I thought they were trying
12:39
Speaker 4: to buckle the seatbelt on me.
12:40
Speaker 2: It was just now those are called handcuffs.
12:42
Speaker 4: Yeah.
12:44
Speaker 2: So yeah, but it's all of that. It's always fun
12:48
Speaker 2: when when when all of us get together. Uh so
12:51
Speaker 2: again that we'll talk about that a little bit later.
12:53
Speaker 2: And man, that I appreciate you being here. Thanks you

16:23
Speaker 2: about another event that's going to be happening. This is
16:25
Speaker 2: next week September the first over Capital Market. It's called
16:29
Speaker 2: Sweet Charity and it's a fundraiser for the Faith in
16:32
Speaker 2: Action Group the Greater Kanah Valley. Here to talk about
16:34
Speaker 2: Jennifer Wagner. She's the executive director of Faith and Action
16:37
Speaker 2: of the Greater Kanaal Valley. Thanks for Bena and Jennifer,
16:39
Speaker 2: thanks so much for having me right and first of all,
16:42
Speaker 2: talk about the group. What exactly is Faith and Action
16:44
Speaker 2: in the Greater Kanav Valley.
16:45
Speaker 12: Sure? So, Faith in Action is a volunteer drecatory to
16:48
Speaker 12: pull in their organization that supports seniors in our community.
16:53
Speaker 12: We provide free services like transportation to medical appointments, grocery
16:57
Speaker 12: shopping assistants. We do friendly phone calls, check ins. We
17:01
Speaker 12: do minor home repairs for safety like handrails and grab
17:04
Speaker 12: bars and things like that. It's all free, it's all
17:07
Speaker 12: volunteer driven. That's our great need always is volunteers. So
17:12
Speaker 12: we'd love to talk to you about that.
17:14
Speaker 2: But what kind of volunteers could you use with your organization?
17:17
Speaker 12: So the single biggest requested thing that we have is
17:20
Speaker 12: transportation to medical appointments, which is so critical. I mean
17:23
Speaker 12: for to empower as senior to stay in their own
17:26
Speaker 12: home like they would like to do an Asian place
17:28
Speaker 12: with some dignity and some you know independence.
17:31
Speaker 13: Uh.
17:32
Speaker 12: They got to get to the doctor, they got to
17:34
Speaker 12: get checked out, they got to get their health taken
17:36
Speaker 12: care of. So that's the biggest request is transportation. You
17:40
Speaker 12: can do it once a month, you can do it
17:41
Speaker 12: once every three months, you can do it five times
17:43
Speaker 12: a week. Whatever you're available, you sign up on your schedule.
17:47
Speaker 12: It's a really flexible and wonderful opportunity to give back
17:50
Speaker 12: and to get to know somebody in our community.
17:52
Speaker 2: What is some of the other volunteers. I know that's
17:54
Speaker 2: the big one. But I mean you talked about doing construction,
17:56
Speaker 2: you know, minor construction and things like that.
17:59
Speaker 12: So we don't do construction. I want to be clear
18:01
Speaker 12: on that, because we get calls for roofs and things
18:03
Speaker 12: all the time and we don't. Okay, okay, we do
18:05
Speaker 12: very minor things for safety in the home, like grab bars.
18:08
Speaker 2: In the bath rails, handrail, yeah, okay.
18:11
Speaker 12: We can repair steps that are damaged and things like that.
18:15
Speaker 12: But we do not have construction crews or.
18:16
Speaker 2: That kind of ability, but just minor stuff like that,
18:19
Speaker 2: and that'd be great opportunity for people, not me, but
18:21
Speaker 2: for people that are handy that can do things like
18:23
Speaker 2: that'd be a great opportunity to help out. If they
18:26
Speaker 2: want to volunteer, what do they need to do?
18:28
Speaker 12: The single biggest thing is to visit our website. There's
18:30
Speaker 12: a whole bunch of information on there about volunteering. It's
18:33
Speaker 12: a three step process. There's a training you need to attend,
18:35
Speaker 12: an application to complete in a background screen that's required.
18:38
Speaker 12: Once you do those three things in your set.
18:40
Speaker 2: Give us the website a game.
18:41
Speaker 12: It's faith in Action GKV dot com. That's for Greater
18:45
Speaker 12: Canall Valley. I always like to clarify, Yeah, so faith
18:48
Speaker 12: in Action GKV dot com. That our volunteer page is
18:51
Speaker 12: chock full of info.
18:52
Speaker 2: All right, and let's talk about this event that you
18:54
Speaker 2: do it next week. Give us all the details.
18:56
Speaker 12: Sweet Charity, so Sweet Charity was our signature fundraiser for
18:59
Speaker 12: the five years and then COVID took us out as
19:01
Speaker 12: it did a lot of things. But last year we
19:04
Speaker 12: decided to bring it back and we changed up the venue.
19:07
Speaker 12: We moved it to Capital Market and man it came
19:10
Speaker 12: back with a vengeance. It was a strong event. It
19:13
Speaker 12: was sold out and we anticipate this year is being
19:16
Speaker 12: sold out as well. We feature nine area chefs and
19:19
Speaker 12: bakers who bring their wares for you to sample. As
19:22
Speaker 12: an attendee, you get to vote for your People's choice
19:24
Speaker 12: award winner. We have a panel of celebrity judges, which
19:28
Speaker 12: I'm going to get you on that one these Yeah.
19:30
Speaker 2: Hello, I may not be a celebrity, but I'm judgmental.
19:34
Speaker 9: There you go, that's all you need.
19:37
Speaker 12: This year, we have Chef Key who was our big
19:39
Speaker 12: winner last year at Sweet Charity, so we've invited her
19:41
Speaker 12: to be one of our celebrity judges.
19:43
Speaker 2: She's one awesome she really.
19:45
Speaker 1: We brought her.
19:46
Speaker 2: I'll tell you a quick story about Chef Key. We
19:47
Speaker 2: brought her in I think it was last year prior
19:50
Speaker 2: to fourth of July, and we brought her in on
19:54
Speaker 2: the show with Amanda and myself and we in the
19:56
Speaker 2: midday show I'm talking about, and we just sat down
19:59
Speaker 2: and just set give us some different ideas other than
20:02
Speaker 2: hot dogs and hamburgers. We did like I could have
20:05
Speaker 2: done that segment, you know, I mean for like two
20:07
Speaker 2: hours with all just all the different ideas that we got.
20:09
Speaker 12: She's amazing and she can do so much with so little.
20:12
Speaker 12: Sometimes you know that her her spreads are just amazing.
20:14
Speaker 12: But her desserts are also delicious. And she took all
20:18
Speaker 12: the big awards People's Choice and I believe it was
20:21
Speaker 12: Taste the Taste Award last year. So she's one of
20:25
Speaker 12: our judges this year. We're proud to have her back.
20:28
Speaker 12: Zach Harold from Festival is one of our celebrity judges.
20:31
Speaker 12: And our third one is Jessica Martin, which you may
20:34
Speaker 12: you may know Jessica.
20:35
Speaker 2: She works here and she you hear her so jam
20:38
Speaker 2: Fancy one seven three to beat Yeah says she is
20:41
Speaker 2: one of our You chose you chose Jessica over me?
20:45
Speaker 2: I mean for thirty eight years? Tell you she's only
20:48
Speaker 2: been into business for six months. Okay, I want to
20:50
Speaker 2: tell you the truth.
20:51
Speaker 12: She's an influencer with some influence.
20:53
Speaker 2: That's there. You go, and I'm not no, no.
20:57
Speaker 12: Our mission is to sell some tickets and get people
20:59
Speaker 12: to this show.
21:00
Speaker 13: She does.
21:01
Speaker 2: She does great with what she does. We're very very
21:03
Speaker 2: happy to have her on board here with our station.
21:05
Speaker 2: She's incredible. Yes, she's great for.
21:08
Speaker 12: This town too. She just blows everybody up and she
21:10
Speaker 12: spreads the love. And with all the events we have
21:13
Speaker 12: and all this great stuff we have happening here, it's
21:15
Speaker 12: nice to have a voice.
21:15
Speaker 2: I got you, I got you, all right, So uh,
21:18
Speaker 2: tell us about Okay, we know who the judges are.
21:20
Speaker 2: Tell us some people that are going to be there.
21:22
Speaker 2: Take us to the door.
21:23
Speaker 12: We have several retorneys like Rainy Day Bakes, she's she
21:28
Speaker 12: won an award last year as well. We have Edgewood
21:30
Speaker 12: Summon has been with us since the very beginning. Their
21:32
Speaker 12: their chef team, their team of chefs in their service
21:38
Speaker 12: dinner services. They do amazing job.
21:41
Speaker 9: Every year.
21:42
Speaker 12: We have some new people this year. We have Obscure Bakery,
21:46
Speaker 12: which you may not have heard of. They do a
21:48
Speaker 12: lot of They do a lot of markets there at
21:51
Speaker 12: Capitol Market, a lot. She's got. She's a rock star.
21:55
Speaker 12: She with these crazy concoctions of brownies and treats and
21:59
Speaker 12: sweet since she's just really imaginative and I'm anxious to
22:02
Speaker 12: see what she has. We have a gentleman coming who
22:05
Speaker 12: has Burton's Bakery. He does cheesecakes. He specializes in cheesecakes,
22:09
Speaker 12: and I have.
22:10
Speaker 3: Never met him.
22:11
Speaker 12: I just he's from the area and he started this business.
22:15
Speaker 12: He learned to cook with the hands of his grandma
22:18
Speaker 12: and his mom and he's just started this bakery with
22:21
Speaker 12: the support of his family.
22:22
Speaker 5: He's one.
22:23
Speaker 12: I can't remember the name of the competition that he
22:25
Speaker 12: was in at the Civic Center, but he's he's an
22:30
Speaker 12: up and comer and we're excited to have him. So
22:32
Speaker 12: that's that's exciting. So we've got lots of great people coming.
22:35
Speaker 12: There's nine, Like I said, there's nine chefs and bakers.
22:38
Speaker 12: You get to sample all the whar's. Your taste passport
22:40
Speaker 12: gets you a free bite of everything and you get
22:44
Speaker 12: to cast your vote for your favorite you get. Well,
22:47
Speaker 12: there's nine o nine.
22:50
Speaker 2: It's a lot, Yeah, it is. I've done a lot
22:53
Speaker 2: of events like that, you know, like we do the
22:56
Speaker 2: mac and Cheese Festival Capital Market every year. They usually
22:58
Speaker 2: wrote me into that, and also the Biscuits and Gravy Bowl,
23:01
Speaker 2: which will be happen to hear. I'm sure I'll get
23:03
Speaker 2: a phone call about that because it normally happens as
23:05
Speaker 2: the weather gets a little bit cooler, and we'll do
23:07
Speaker 2: that sometime in October November. Looking forward to that. But
23:10
Speaker 2: you do you sample as a judge, and you sample
23:12
Speaker 2: one or two bites, you know those things. But I mean,
23:14
Speaker 2: it sounds like it's going to be a great event,
23:16
Speaker 2: and it's going to be at Capital Market, which is
23:17
Speaker 2: the winner in and of itself, and just.
23:20
Speaker 12: A couple of other things. Adam Harris has been our
23:21
Speaker 12: MC every year. He's wonderful as well. Steve Haines is
23:24
Speaker 12: going to be providing some live music. We have the
23:27
Speaker 12: wine shop will be there with a cash bar. Base
23:30
Speaker 12: Camp Printing is going to be there doing a demo
23:31
Speaker 12: that everybody can take a print home with them, So
23:33
Speaker 12: that's going to be cool. We have just lots of
23:35
Speaker 12: fun stuff happening. It's outdoors, it's a lovely summer evening
23:39
Speaker 12: and it's it's just it's it's a lot of fun.
23:41
Speaker 12: And I would urge you to get your tickets because
23:43
Speaker 12: we did sell out last year and we were close this.
23:46
Speaker 2: Year and Henton we'll do it a couple more times
23:48
Speaker 2: before we let you go, But remind people where they
23:49
Speaker 2: can get tickets.
23:50
Speaker 12: You can get tickets at Faith INACTIONGKV dot com. On
23:53
Speaker 12: the Sweet Charity button. We'll be right there in front
23:55
Speaker 12: of your face when you go there. And also it's
23:57
Speaker 12: all over our faith Facebook page, which is Faith and
24:00
Speaker 12: Action of the Greater Granaul Valley.
24:03
Speaker 2: Try to Jennifer Wagner. It's twenty two minutes away from Tampa.
24:05
Speaker 2: Dave Island show on five eighty line brought you'd fired
24:07
Speaker 2: by the all New Generations Ford of Hurricane was a
24:10
Speaker 2: Generations forward dot com without mentioning any names or anything
24:15
Speaker 2: like that. Give me a cup one or two of
24:17
Speaker 2: the projects that you have done for some of our
24:20
Speaker 2: older folks that you're that you're most proud of.
24:22
Speaker 12: Sure, one that springs to mind every time I get
24:25
Speaker 12: this question. We had a woman who lived in Nitro
24:28
Speaker 12: and her home. She was living in a home that
24:32
Speaker 12: one of her relatives had let her stay in, and
24:34
Speaker 12: the front door was a sliding patio door that somebody
24:37
Speaker 12: had just thrown up. I don't know what happened to
24:39
Speaker 12: the original door, but that was the case and it
24:41
Speaker 12: didn't lock, so she had to put the broomstick in
24:44
Speaker 12: the you know, and that was her safety, you know,
24:46
Speaker 12: in this house in Nitro, and it was just not
24:49
Speaker 12: a good situation if she wanted to bring groceries in
24:52
Speaker 12: or something. She always had to go all the way
24:53
Speaker 12: around the house to come in the back. She couldn't
24:55
Speaker 12: get in the front door because the broomstick was the lock,
24:57
Speaker 12: you know, locking the door. So anyway, we had it
25:00
Speaker 12: team of volunteers who got together and installed a brand
25:02
Speaker 12: new front door for her. And I have a picture
25:04
Speaker 12: of her standing with the key in the door with
25:06
Speaker 12: a smile on her face that would melt anybody's heart.
25:09
Speaker 12: And she said, I feel like the Queen of England.
25:12
Speaker 12: I feel like, you know, this is like mind palace now.
25:15
Speaker 2: And you know, it was just a door, but it
25:18
Speaker 2: was it was much more than a door to her.
25:20
Speaker 12: It was safety, it was ownership, you know, she had
25:23
Speaker 12: she had her own key to get in her own house.
25:26
Speaker 12: It was it was just it was a lot and
25:28
Speaker 12: it was a very emotional day, but it was that
25:31
Speaker 12: was That's one of my favorite all times.
25:33
Speaker 2: That's a great story right there, Jennifer, And it really
25:35
Speaker 2: is a great story because again it's not just a
25:37
Speaker 2: door that's for her, it was a whole lot more.
25:39
Speaker 2: And that's and when you when you support the events
25:42
Speaker 2: like this one that we're having, the Sweet Chaired event
25:44
Speaker 2: coming up on September first at Capitol Market. That's that's
25:47
Speaker 2: the kind of stuff that you're paying for, absolutely when
25:49
Speaker 2: you come out for that.
25:50
Speaker 12: You know, we have lots of sons and daughters who
25:53
Speaker 12: live out of state and want to support their parents,
25:56
Speaker 12: their aging parents, but don't know how because they're far away.
25:58
Speaker 12: They can't get in the car and drive them to appointment.
26:00
Speaker 12: They call us and we connect with their parents, and
26:04
Speaker 12: it's a nice way for them to know that their
26:07
Speaker 12: their parents are being taken care of. And you know,
26:10
Speaker 12: I had one lady tell me, she said, when I
26:12
Speaker 12: call my mom, you know, I used to have to
26:13
Speaker 12: nag or did you take your medicine, did you make
26:15
Speaker 12: your appointment, did you get to your appointment, how you
26:16
Speaker 12: get in to your appointment, all these different things. And
26:18
Speaker 12: she said, I was becoming the parent and I was becoming,
26:20
Speaker 12: you know, a nag for her to the point where
26:23
Speaker 12: she didn't want to answer the phone when I would call.
26:26
Speaker 12: She said, with you guys, engage, she said, I'm back
26:28
Speaker 12: to being her daughter again. And it's she said, You've
26:31
Speaker 12: given me the gift that I know that's irreplaceable. So
26:34
Speaker 12: you know, those kinds of moments, and you know, you know,
26:37
Speaker 12: it's three hours of your time to drive somebody to
26:39
Speaker 12: a doctor's appointment and home again, but it's a lifetime
26:43
Speaker 12: of you know, it's a better quality of life for
26:45
Speaker 12: the person that you're assisting. And you know, the instant
26:48
Speaker 12: you have done that active service with that person and
26:51
Speaker 12: spent that time with that person and been in the
26:52
Speaker 12: moment with that person, you know you've made a difference
26:55
Speaker 12: in their lives.
26:55
Speaker 2: Well, and you've made a friend too. If you didn't
26:57
Speaker 2: already know my heead of time. If you're driving somebody
27:00
Speaker 2: an hour or two to a doctor's appointment or even
27:02
Speaker 2: it's around town, you're going to strike up a conversation.
27:04
Speaker 2: And then if you're a halfway decent person, which I'm
27:06
Speaker 2: sure people you know, I'm so weird about that. I
27:09
Speaker 2: still like to think that most people are, Uh, then
27:12
Speaker 2: you're going to think, Okay, well, I picked this lady
27:14
Speaker 2: up and I took her to a doctor's appointment. I
27:16
Speaker 2: wonder how she's doing. I'm going to give her a
27:18
Speaker 2: call later and make sure that she's feeling a.
27:20
Speaker 12: One And we have volunteers who see a name like
27:23
Speaker 12: they drive somebody in and they jump on the schedule
27:26
Speaker 12: to sign up for that person every time they're on
27:28
Speaker 12: the schedule. So you know, they become they do become attached,
27:31
Speaker 12: they become close, and they become friends, and it's it's
27:34
Speaker 12: it's just it's a really unique opportunity to make a
27:38
Speaker 12: difference on a one to one basis, on your schedule
27:40
Speaker 12: and on your time. I mean, really there's it's the
27:43
Speaker 12: most flexible volunteer opportunity are going because you sign up
27:46
Speaker 12: when you're available. If you're not available, you don't sign up.
27:48
Speaker 2: It's just sim And as far as the volunteers go,
27:50
Speaker 2: I mean, I'm assuming they have to be eighteen twenty
27:52
Speaker 2: one somethun t drive. It have to be twenty one
27:54
Speaker 2: or all right, a licensed driver with insurance and all
27:56
Speaker 2: the things.
27:57
Speaker 12: And but to do anything else, like you know, if
28:00
Speaker 12: you want to move grass, if you want to install
28:02
Speaker 12: a grab bar. You know, we have volunteers sixteen and up,
28:05
Speaker 12: but you know, if they're sixteen to eighteen, you have
28:07
Speaker 12: to be with another volunteer. But yeah, we have opportunities
28:12
Speaker 12: for everybody. We have moms who drive and take their
28:14
Speaker 12: kids with them, which is a great example to set.
28:16
Speaker 2: You know, if there's a learning experience, for sure, we
28:19
Speaker 2: have some of.
28:20
Speaker 12: Our seniors that we serve are actually volunteering as phone callers,
28:24
Speaker 12: so they are calling a lonely senior and they're both
28:27
Speaker 12: helping each other and it's a beautiful day. It's one
28:30
Speaker 12: of my favorite programs because the volunteers in the phone
28:33
Speaker 12: call program are largely people that we're serving in other ways,
28:37
Speaker 12: so it's there's just it's just a great I just
28:41
Speaker 12: I just get up happy to go to work.
28:42
Speaker 2: I was gonna say, how long have you been.
28:44
Speaker 1: Involved in this?
28:45
Speaker 12: I started this program here? Twelve years are about twenty fourteen,
28:50
Speaker 12: So yeah.
28:51
Speaker 2: So you started the pre what if you don't mind?
28:52
Speaker 2: I asking what led you to start the program.
28:54
Speaker 12: I was working at the Alzheimer's Association at the time,
28:57
Speaker 12: and my background is marketing. We moved back home in
29:00
Speaker 12: two thousand and nine and I had a corporate marketing
29:02
Speaker 12: background and I came home and that job didn't exist here.
29:06
Speaker 12: So I wanted to do something that made sense for
29:09
Speaker 12: my heart more than my pocketbook, I guess, and I
29:12
Speaker 12: went to work at the Alzheimer's Association, and in that role,
29:15
Speaker 12: I was on the front lines a lot with the
29:16
Speaker 12: families who would call in, and I just saw the
29:19
Speaker 12: gaps in the holes in the in the services that
29:21
Speaker 12: were available to families and seniors in particular. So even
29:25
Speaker 12: with our county aging programs who were wonderful and do
29:28
Speaker 12: a great job, you know, they have eligibility requirements because
29:31
Speaker 12: they take tax payer money, right, so they have to
29:34
Speaker 12: meet certain requirements to get their funding. So if you're
29:37
Speaker 12: a you know a little bit, if you make twelve
29:40
Speaker 12: dollars a month too much, or you live just outside
29:42
Speaker 12: the geography that they serve, or whatever the case may be,
29:44
Speaker 12: you may follow in the gap where you can't get
29:46
Speaker 12: served by them.
29:47
Speaker 9: So then what do you do?
29:48
Speaker 12: You still need help, you know, so who's going to
29:50
Speaker 12: be there for you? So that's why I created Faith
29:53
Speaker 12: in Action, which is a model that it's a national
29:54
Speaker 12: model that I brought here. So we're a local, one
29:57
Speaker 12: hundred percent local organization, but Faith in Action is based
30:00
Speaker 12: on a national care caregiving model.
30:03
Speaker 2: Well, and so when people if they buy their tickets
30:05
Speaker 2: for this event or they make donations, does the money stay.
30:08
Speaker 12: One hundred percent of the fund stay right here? We
30:10
Speaker 12: have a local board. We don't report to anybody else
30:13
Speaker 12: beyond us. We are we are one hundred percent self
30:15
Speaker 12: contained and local We.
30:16
Speaker 2: Had a text here said, could kids volunteering to do
30:19
Speaker 2: things with you all be their community service requirements for graduating?
30:22
Speaker 12: One we have beg schools to give us some lawnmowers.
30:27
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there you go.
30:28
Speaker 12: We have so many people who need help with yard
30:30
Speaker 12: work and it's you wouldn't believe what a challenge it
30:33
Speaker 12: is to find somebody who wants to mow the grass
30:35
Speaker 12: for for someone a couple of times a month. So yeah,
30:38
Speaker 12: so absolutely, just give us a call or you know,
30:41
Speaker 12: send us an email or a message through Facebook, and
30:43
Speaker 12: we'd be happy to talk to you.
30:44
Speaker 2: And I think that's what the text is referring to.
30:46
Speaker 2: I think that's one of the best things that West
30:48
Speaker 2: Virginia Schools Public Schools ever did, was requiring community service
30:53
Speaker 2: for you know, kids in order to graduate, to have
30:55
Speaker 2: to have so many hours, and there's so many different
30:57
Speaker 2: opportunities and so many different things that they can do,
31:00
Speaker 2: whether it's something like you guys do or something you know,
31:02
Speaker 2: there's so many different things they could do. I think
31:03
Speaker 2: it's a wonderful opportunity, you know, and.
31:05
Speaker 12: Everybody always wants the group projects, you know, team building
31:07
Speaker 12: and this and that, which is great, but it's really
31:10
Speaker 12: for us, it's more one on one. It's more personal than.
31:12
Speaker 2: It's not just about I mean, from what I'm gathering
31:14
Speaker 2: from you, and we've talked about this in the past,
31:17
Speaker 2: it's not just about mowing the grass. It's about you know,
31:19
Speaker 2: sitting there on the porch, maybe talking with them, having
31:21
Speaker 2: a glass of water lemonade afterwards, and talking to.
31:24
Speaker 12: One of the most important pieces of the training that
31:26
Speaker 12: you'll if you come to a training. The very last
31:29
Speaker 12: message that I leave you with is it's not about
31:31
Speaker 12: the task you're doing or the request you're fulfilling. It's
31:35
Speaker 12: about the time you're spending with that person, in the
31:37
Speaker 12: connection you're making. It's about looking them in the eye
31:39
Speaker 12: and being present in that moment with them. We you know,
31:42
Speaker 12: we never want them to feel like they're a burden
31:44
Speaker 12: or that we're doing them a big favor. You know,
31:46
Speaker 12: it's it's our privilege and our pleasure to serve. And
31:50
Speaker 12: you know the volunteers who work with us feel that
31:51
Speaker 12: way too, and make sure that our seniors know that.
31:54
Speaker 12: So you know, that's that's that's what it is in
31:57
Speaker 12: a nutshell for me.
31:58
Speaker 2: All right. So the event is called Sweet Charity. It's
32:01
Speaker 2: at the Capital Market on September the first, and give
32:05
Speaker 2: us a ticket. Get your tickets please, because it's sold
32:07
Speaker 2: out last year and it's going to sell out over
32:09
Speaker 2: in that next couple of days. So if you're planning
32:10
Speaker 2: on attended, my man Adam Harris, one of my best friends,
32:13
Speaker 2: is going to be serving the dreams. See, you can't
32:14
Speaker 2: go wrong with Adam over there. Just keep him out
32:17
Speaker 2: of the sweets. He's approved. Just try to keep him
32:19
Speaker 2: out the sweet as much as possible. But it is
32:21
Speaker 2: going to be a great event and one of those
32:22

36:04

36:07
Speaker 2: Penn State, so we'll hear from Tony Gibson about that.
36:10
Speaker 2: UH had a basketball coach, Corney Jackson. Several of the
36:13
Speaker 2: other coaches are there, Julie Fulkes, Caleb Bowen, Evan Richards,
36:16
Speaker 2: the athletic director, Jerald Harrison, who I mean, We've interviewed
36:20
Speaker 2: him several times on mid Day. I've done several events
36:23
Speaker 2: for Marshall UH with with Ady Harrison. He's absolutely a trip.
36:27
Speaker 2: I mean, he's saying he's a great, great guy. So
36:30
Speaker 2: he's going to be there. The Voice of the Thundering
36:33

36:36
Speaker 2: does is we have some of the coaches. Sometimes players
36:38
Speaker 2: show up sometimes you know, sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not,
36:42
Speaker 2: but the coaches are definitely there. He does a little
36:44
Speaker 2: bit of a roundtable with the coaches to talk about
36:47
Speaker 2: their upcoming seasons, their past seasons.
36:50
Speaker 16: UH.
36:50
Speaker 2: It's just a big old party up at the bill
36:52
Speaker 2: No Flight School. And look, somebody asked me one time,
36:54
Speaker 2: they said, well I would it sounds like a lot
36:55
Speaker 2: of fun, but I'm more of a WVU fan, or
36:58
Speaker 2: I'm that's okay. It's a party. I mean, it doesn't
37:02
Speaker 2: it doesn't really matter whether you don't have to be
37:04
Speaker 2: a hardcore Marshall fan to have a good time at
37:07
Speaker 2: the party. And that's exactly what it is. It's up
37:10
Speaker 2: at the bill No Flight School by the airport and
37:13

37:22

37:38
Speaker 2: A couple of quick things in the news story posted
37:41
Speaker 2: this morning WHS network dot com. The flood cleanup is
37:46
Speaker 2: continuing here in kanaw in the Canawha County area, not
37:50
Speaker 2: only in the city of Charleston, but also in the
37:52
Speaker 2: outline areas that we I want to focus on. The
37:53
Speaker 2: outlining areas right now, the County Commission has two weeks
37:59
Speaker 2: that they set up for cleanup of debris. Now. C. W. Sigmund,
38:02
Speaker 2: who is the Canawa County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director,
38:05
Speaker 2: says the county has a contract with Rodney Lofts and
38:08
Speaker 2: Sons to collect debris in Campbell's Creek, Cabin Creek, Rutledge Road,
38:14
Speaker 2: and Across Lanes. Now they're starting in Campbell's Creek and
38:19
Speaker 2: Cabin Creek and it's kind of Sigmund did an interview
38:24
Speaker 2: with her news team and he says, it's kind of
38:26
Speaker 2: iffy right now as to whether or not there was
38:29
Speaker 2: actually enough damage to believe it or not for a
38:31
Speaker 2: federal disaster declaration for individual assistance. And again, this can
38:36
Speaker 2: be very complicated and sadly, in West Virginia, as many
38:39
Speaker 2: floods as we've had, we should be used to this
38:41
Speaker 2: by now, but it's very complicated the way it works
38:44
Speaker 2: as to whether there'll be money's are available for individuals.
38:48
Speaker 2: But he was kind of as well, we may and
38:51
Speaker 2: we may not. We just don't know yet. But just
38:55
Speaker 2: remember though, they ask that if you've got this debris
38:58
Speaker 2: and you live in those areas again, are going to
39:00
Speaker 2: start on Campbell's Creek and Cabot Creek. If you live
39:02
Speaker 2: in those areas, you need to pull that stuff out
39:04
Speaker 2: of your yard or to the curb or your driveway
39:07
Speaker 2: or whatever, because by law, they are not allowed to
39:10
Speaker 2: go on private property. And I know it happened so
39:12
Speaker 2: many times people they got flooded. They're like, well, I've
39:15
Speaker 2: got this refrigerator and it needs you know, it needs
39:19
Speaker 2: to come out of my basement or my It's just
39:21
Speaker 2: the way it is. They cannot go on private property.
39:24
Speaker 2: So get your neighbors, get you you know, church groups
39:26
Speaker 2: or whatever, and get somebody to try to help you
39:28
Speaker 2: get it out to the curb. So again, we got
39:31
Speaker 2: more information available over at the local website wcchsnetwork dot com.

Speaker 2: Mid afternoon yesterday, the names were released in that fatal
40:04
Speaker 2: car crash after the Jason Alding concert over to Conndal
40:07
Speaker 2: Seaman Convention Center on Friday night. Story post at wv
40:10
Speaker 2: metronews dot com. Twenty year old James McDaniel and Colton Garcia,
40:15
Speaker 2: both again were twenty and a couple of twenty one
40:17
Speaker 2: year olds named Cayden. Cayden Ashby was one, Caden Radford
40:21
Speaker 2: was the other. All are from Raleigh County, and you
40:24
Speaker 2: know the story. They were killed when the pickup truck
40:29
Speaker 2: they were in ran over the retaining wall on the
40:33
Speaker 2: elevated part of the sixty four to seventy seventh split
40:35
Speaker 2: and that truck fell, according to investigators, approximately forty two
40:40
Speaker 2: feet onto a lot below.
40:42
Speaker 7: Now.
40:42
Speaker 2: Charleston Police say the investigation is continuing and it's a
40:46
Speaker 2: tragic story, nonetheless, But I guess what kept hitting me
40:51
Speaker 2: was these were four young men, ages twenty and twenty
40:55
Speaker 2: one respectively, you know, and that's the thing that just
41:00
Speaker 2: and again, the investigation is continuing. We'll leave that up
41:03
Speaker 2: to the authorities as to what happened and all that.
41:05
Speaker 2: That'll all come out later, but regardless, those families are
41:09
Speaker 2: without four young men just really starting the primes of
41:12
Speaker 2: their lives to be adults, and it's just a sad,
41:15
Speaker 2: sad story in their hearts. And thoughts and prayers go
41:18
Speaker 2: out to the families and the friends and loved one
41:20
Speaker 2: of those four young men that were killed in that
41:22
Speaker 2: tragic accident Friday night, immediately after the Jane the Jason
41:26
Speaker 2: Alding concert and one of the if you don't want
41:31
Speaker 2: to say one of the good things that came out
41:32
Speaker 2: of it, but I will say after the fact, there
41:35
Speaker 2: are several groups that are getting involved. I saw actually
41:38
Speaker 2: a piece on the news last night that the people
41:41
Speaker 2: and the brothers of the Wheel Motorcycle Club are planning
41:44
Speaker 2: charity ride next month in honor of these four guys
41:49
Speaker 2: and to try to help their families out financially and
41:52
Speaker 2: so on and so forth. And that's going to be
41:54
Speaker 2: next month. We'll have that story on the air as
41:56
Speaker 2: we get a little bit closer. But it was a
41:58
Speaker 2: sad story all around, for sure. Nine forty nine eleven

45:15
Speaker 2: I apologized. They were asking if the shelter would accept

45:25
Speaker 2: Texas City and State need to take a long look
45:27
Speaker 2: at these large retaining walls like the Leon Sullivan accident
45:30
Speaker 2: and on the Ford Hill Bridge. They may actually need
45:33
Speaker 2: to be reconstructed and possibly have steel support beams behind
45:36
Speaker 2: them that could be stretched to the row below. We
45:39
Speaker 2: talked a lot about this over the last twenty four
45:41
Speaker 2: hours since these you know, we had the accident last
45:43
Speaker 2: Wednesday morning involving the tractor trailer, and even before that
45:47
Speaker 2: we talked to on midday yesterday Delaga Dane of Ferrell,
45:50
Speaker 2: whose daughter was involved in an accident on the Ford
45:53
Speaker 2: Hill Bridge. I think it was the previous Sunday night
45:55
Speaker 2: to that, and then of course this accident that we
45:57
Speaker 2: talked about from Friday and night after the concert. And
46:02
Speaker 2: you know, I don't know. I try not to weigh
46:05
Speaker 2: in on things like that because I'm not a road engineer.
46:07
Speaker 2: Uh and uh, I don't, I don't, I don't. I
46:11
Speaker 2: don't know what I'm talking about, even less that I
46:13
Speaker 2: normally know what I'm talking about, So leave that up
46:16
Speaker 2: to the professionals. But I do appreciate the text, and
46:20
Speaker 2: you know, I did learn so I didn't learned a
46:22
Speaker 2: lot in the interview yesterday with the Elegant to Dana Ferrell,
46:25
Speaker 2: when I guess I just hadn't thought about that when
46:28
Speaker 2: we were talking about, you know that there's more traffic
46:31
Speaker 2: in those areas now than what there was ever before.
46:33
Speaker 2: In my mind, because I'm a simple guy, my mind
46:36
Speaker 2: was like, well, there's like fifty percent less people here
46:39
Speaker 2: than what the east. But that's actually there's a lot
46:41
Speaker 2: more vehicular traffic than what there was, thank you Amazon,
46:45
Speaker 2: uh and plus back in the day, in the sixth
46:48
Speaker 2: season seventies, pretty much everybody drove cars, and now people
46:51
Speaker 2: buy a truck or they drive trucks and SUVs. Some
46:54
Speaker 2: manufacturer don't even make cars anymore, they do, They just
46:57
Speaker 2: make one or two. Everybody drives big SUVs and it's
47:00
Speaker 2: gonna take it's gonna take a toll on the roads.

Speaker 2: in life, looking to blame something or somebody. Speed, the
48:16
Speaker 2: drug kills, speed, the car kills every time, every day.
48:19
Speaker 2: Sadly it will not be the last. Well, I mean,
48:23
Speaker 2: and we talked to Brent Walker, Apartment of Highway spokesperson
48:26
Speaker 2: yesterday about that. And look, I'm not going to get
48:31
Speaker 2: into you know, what happened in any of these particular accidents,
48:35
Speaker 2: not my place to do that, but I will say
48:38
Speaker 2: that in so many accidents, it all starts with human error.
48:41
Speaker 2: And we can talk about highway issues, we could talk
48:44
Speaker 2: about this, talk about that, but a lot of it
48:47
Speaker 2: that's exactly where it starts. Text Perhaps people should drive,
48:52
Speaker 2: try driving slower and creating space between them and the
48:55
Speaker 2: car in front of them. Yep, I would agree. Agree.
49:00
Speaker 2: You know, from time to time I go on the
49:02
Speaker 2: show and I give my pet peeve when it comes
49:04
Speaker 2: to a driving I will say that one of those.
49:08
Speaker 2: One of those is that if you are in a
49:11
Speaker 2: construction zone and I just happen to be driving in
49:16
Speaker 2: one the other day going to southern West Virginia, going back,
49:18
Speaker 2: going back to LA over the weekend, and fifty five
49:23
Speaker 2: lights are flashing, obvious cones out I'm doing fifty five
49:26
Speaker 2: in a construction zone, no way anybody to get around me,
49:29
Speaker 2: he or whatever. And I got people like riding my
49:32
Speaker 2: you know what. You know, it's like you can't go
49:37
Speaker 2: around me. I'm sorry, but I ain't getting popped for
49:39
Speaker 2: you know, a two or three hundred dollars ticket and
49:41
Speaker 2: points off my license because I'm in that big a
49:43
Speaker 2: hurry to get somewhere. I'm sorry. So if you are
49:47
Speaker 2: the driver of that other car, I apologize. Text. I
49:53
Speaker 2: wonder if building a separate bridge strictly for tractor trailers
49:56
