Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: He Hello, friends from across the nation and around the world.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I'm Martin, and you are listening to dad's bedtime stories. Tonight,
- 0:12Speaker 1: we're headed back into the Quantum universe, a universe in
- 0:17Speaker 1: which you find a quantum computer that helps you build
- 0:21Speaker 1: a three D printer, and that helps you build a
- 0:24Speaker 1: whole bunch of other cool stuff. I got a couple
- 0:28Speaker 1: suggestions that I think I'm going to put together in
- 0:30Speaker 1: this one, so let's check them out.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Hi.
- 0:34Speaker 3: My name is jose and I'm eight years old, and
- 0:37Speaker 3: I have a story request for the Quantum series where
- 0:42Speaker 3: you make a high tech suit and you use it
- 0:45Speaker 3: to defeat a trash bonser Bie. I love your podcast.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Well, Josiah, that is a great idea, and since I
- 0:53Speaker 1: believe in some of the crossover episodes I did a
- 0:56Speaker 1: while ago that Quantum has some sort of mech suit,
- 1:01Speaker 1: we're going to have to put that in. I also
- 1:04Speaker 1: got this idea from Millie that I think could go
- 1:06Speaker 1: along with it. Let's check it out too.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Hi, my name is Milly Orbustoilia. I want a suggestion
- 1:14Speaker 2: for quantum computer. When Samony hacks into Quantum and when
- 1:21Speaker 2: you say I think the quotum herennaws you.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Perfect, Millie, and I believe that that is a great
- 1:29Speaker 1: invitation to introduce an antagonist or like a bad guy
- 1:35Speaker 1: into the Quantum universe, because you always need someone to
- 1:38Speaker 1: compete with to make a good story. If you have
- 1:42Speaker 1: an idea for Dad's bedtime stories in any one of
- 1:45Speaker 1: the universes we already do, or just an idea of
- 1:48Speaker 1: your own that could stand alone or even become a
- 1:51Speaker 1: new series, be sure to leave me a message on
- 1:54Speaker 1: speak pipe. It's my favorite way to get messages because
- 1:57Speaker 1: I can play your little voice clip at the beginning.
- 1:59Speaker 1: But if you don't want to leave a message, there's
- 2:01Speaker 1: still a Google form where you can write your ideas
- 2:04Speaker 1: and I always read that too. This podcast would not
- 2:08Speaker 1: be possible if it weren't for your ideas. And while
- 2:12Speaker 1: I can't make every single one, I do read and
- 2:15Speaker 1: listen to every single one, and they always inspire me
- 2:19Speaker 1: to do new things and they give me a good
- 2:22Speaker 1: idea about what the audience likes and wants. So please
- 2:27Speaker 1: keep them coming, with the permission of your parents, of course.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And now it's that time again, time for another possible
- 2:35Speaker 1: word from a sponsor in case we have one of
- 2:37Speaker 1: those did we have one? I can never tell if
- 2:40Speaker 1: we have one, because it kind of depends on where
- 2:42Speaker 1: you live. Now, it's time to close your eyes, get
- 2:46Speaker 1: as comfy as you can in that bed, and imagine
- 2:49Speaker 1: yourself doing what the kid in the story does. Imagine
- 2:56Speaker 1: yourself waking up in the morning inside your very own bed.
- 3:02Speaker 1: It doesn't take you long to remember Quantum. For a second,
- 3:09Speaker 1: you wonder if the whole Quantum thing was just a dream.
- 3:13Speaker 1: And then you suddenly hear a voice coming from your watch.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Good morning, Quantum says. You lift your arm and see
- 3:22Speaker 1: Quantum's little smiling face glowing on the watch. Good morning.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Anything happened while I was sleeping? Of course, several thousand things,
- 3:34Speaker 1: you blink, several thousand that is technically correct, or they
- 3:41Speaker 1: good things. Mostly that's not as comforting as you think
- 3:46Speaker 1: it might be. The ocean cleanup fleet continues to expand.
- 3:51Speaker 1: The mother sub has successfully printed additional collection units. The
- 3:57Speaker 1: underground base remains stable. The hover copters are fully charged.
- 4:03Speaker 1: The starship has completed its overnight diagnostics. Also, one of
- 4:09Speaker 1: the helper bots has attempted to make pancakes. You pause,
- 4:15Speaker 1: attempted to make pancakes. Yes, I have now banned that
- 4:21Speaker 1: particular bot from the kitchen. Oh well, I guess I
- 4:26Speaker 1: better go check everything out. You climb out of bed
- 4:30Speaker 1: and press the button on your nightstand once again. The
- 4:34Speaker 1: bed slide sideways across the floor with a smooth mechanical hum,
- 4:40Speaker 1: revealing a glowing metal hatch underneath. You open the hatch,
- 4:46Speaker 1: sit at the top of the shiny metal slide, and
- 4:49Speaker 1: push off. Immediately you shoot down into the tunnel. The
- 4:54Speaker 1: slide twists and turns through glowing blue light. Your stomach
- 5:00Speaker 1: jumps as it dips suddenly and then levels out, sending
- 5:05Speaker 1: you smoothly into the underground base, the one that Quantum
- 5:10Speaker 1: secretly dug and built beneath your home. You slide out
- 5:15Speaker 1: of the bottom and come to a stop on the
- 5:18Speaker 1: polished floor. The base looks even more complete than ever.
- 5:24Speaker 1: The launch bay is lined with hover copters, and of course,
- 5:27Speaker 1: the giant spaceship. The huge three D printer glows softly
- 5:33Speaker 1: along one wall. Helper bots float everywhere, moving tools, polishing panels,
- 5:39Speaker 1: welding things together, carrying energy tanks, and generally just doing
- 5:45Speaker 1: what helper bots do. It's kind of like watching a
- 5:49Speaker 1: small swarm of very busy metal bees. The living room
- 5:54Speaker 1: area looks even cozier. Now there's a soft couch and
- 5:59Speaker 1: the huge, huge Quantum TV still sits in front of it.
- 6:05Speaker 1: You walk over and see a plate, and on the
- 6:09Speaker 1: plate is a pancake, at least something shaped like a pancake,
- 6:14Speaker 1: only it's glowing for some reason. You look at Quantum's
- 6:20Speaker 1: main screen on the wall. Is this the pancake that
- 6:24Speaker 1: the helper bot made? Yes? Why is it glowing? You ask?
- 6:31Speaker 1: That is one of the reasons the helper bod is
- 6:34Speaker 1: banned from the kitchen. I'm thinking I probably shouldn't eat
- 6:38Speaker 1: that pancake. No, you definitely should not. May I suggest
- 6:44Speaker 1: using the food replicator instead? A little device lights up
- 6:49Speaker 1: along the wall, A food replicator, you ask. Yes, it
- 6:56Speaker 1: works in much the same way as the three D printer.
- 7:00Speaker 1: It takes matter and reorganizes it into the form of food.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Any food in my database can be recreated into something
- 7:11Speaker 1: edible that is exactly identical to the food itself. So
- 7:17Speaker 1: it turns garbage and stuff into food essentially. Yes, Quantum answers.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You move over to the food replicator and start flipping
- 7:29Speaker 1: through the screens. There's breakfast foods, lunch foods, dinner foods,
- 7:35Speaker 1: foods of all different kinds. You pick one of your favorites,
- 7:41Speaker 1: press enter, and glowing energy appears on the surface of
- 7:46Speaker 1: the replicator. It forms itself into a plate and then
- 7:51Speaker 1: into the food you ordered. You pick it up and
- 7:56Speaker 1: take a bite. It tastes well, actly like you'd expect
- 8:01Speaker 1: it to taste. As you eat, you turn to Quantum. Uh,
- 8:05Speaker 1: what do you think we should build today? You ask,
- 8:09Speaker 1: Quantum screen brightens. I'm glad you asked. Now that you
- 8:14Speaker 1: possess a starship, I believe it is time to construct
- 8:18Speaker 1: some personal exploration equipment. Personal exploration equipment, you ask, yes,
- 8:27Speaker 1: for example, a protective spacesuit or exoskeleton. You stare at him.
- 8:34Speaker 1: You mean like a mech suit. That is a less
- 8:39Speaker 1: precise term, Quantum answers, but yes, like a mech suit.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Your eyes go wide, a.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Flying mech suit eventually with super strength, of course, and
- 8:56Speaker 1: built in gadgets several and armor. Obviously, you grin so
- 9:05Speaker 1: wide your face almost hurts. Quantum, why haven't we built
- 9:09Speaker 1: this already? Because we had many other things to build first?
- 9:15Speaker 1: Fair enough, you say, A glowing blueprint appears on the
- 9:20Speaker 1: giant screen. Then the same design projects into the air
- 9:25Speaker 1: in the middle of the base, made from bright blue
- 9:29Speaker 1: lines of light. It's incredible. The suit stands taller than you,
- 9:35Speaker 1: but not so huge that it looks impossible to move.
- 9:39Speaker 1: It has powerful mechanical legs, reinforced arms, a thick chest
- 9:46Speaker 1: frame boosters on the back. The helmet looks smooth and rounded,
- 9:52Speaker 1: with a dark visor across the front. One arm has
- 9:55Speaker 1: a tool system built into it. The other has a
- 9:59Speaker 1: strange round device near the wrist, like a blaster of
- 10:03Speaker 1: some kind. Oh, what's that, you ask? That is a
- 10:08Speaker 1: multi purpose blaster. It can produce different kinds of beams,
- 10:13Speaker 1: including a freeze ray. You built a freeze ray into
- 10:18Speaker 1: the mech suit, You ask, Technically, I designed a freeze
- 10:23Speaker 1: ray for the mechsuit. It has not yet been built. Quantum.
- 10:29Speaker 1: You say, yes, I believe you should start building this immediately.
- 10:36Speaker 1: That is the plan. Quantum responds, However, I believe we
- 10:41Speaker 1: should test the starship's mobile fabrication system at the same time.
- 10:46Speaker 1: If you plan to explore space, it is important that
- 10:50Speaker 1: the ship can build and repair equipment away from the
- 10:54Speaker 1: underground base. So you want to take the starship somewhere,
- 10:59Speaker 1: collect material, and build the suit there. That is correct.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Where the screen changes to a map, a glowing dot
- 11:09Speaker 1: appears outside the town, past some old industrial roads and
- 11:14Speaker 1: a place you've never quite noticed before. This is an
- 11:18Speaker 1: abandoned garbage dump. Quantum says, you make a face that
- 11:24Speaker 1: doesn't sound very heroic. Many heroic things begin at disgusting locations.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I'm not sure that's true, Quantum, it is today. A
- 11:36Speaker 1: few minutes later, you find yourself climbing into the Quantum Starship.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You pass the rear fabrication bay, humming softly, with a
- 11:47Speaker 1: bunch of little helper bods locking into their docking stations.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Quantum appears on the cockpit screen as you sit in
- 11:55Speaker 1: the pilot seat. Ready, he asks. The launch hatch opens
- 12:02Speaker 1: above the base and sunlight pours in. You pull up
- 12:07Speaker 1: on the control and the starship rises smoothly from the
- 12:10Speaker 1: underground chamber. It lifts past the house and into the sky.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Is The hatch closes below, hiding the base as if
- 12:20Speaker 1: it never existed. You press the button to switch into
- 12:25Speaker 1: flight mode. As soon as you're high enough. The engines
- 12:28Speaker 1: glow and the ship blasts forward. You pass over forests, fields, roads,
- 12:35Speaker 1: and rooftops. Soon the town fades behind you. And the
- 12:41Speaker 1: land becomes rougher and emptier, and eventually you see it,
- 12:48Speaker 1: the abandoned dump. You pop back in to hover mode.
- 12:53Speaker 1: The dump stretches out across an old fenced off area,
- 12:58Speaker 1: crumbling concrete buildings and rusty metal towers, piles of junk everywhere,
- 13:05Speaker 1: old appliances, broken pipes, twisted metal, plastic barrels, tires, wires,
- 13:12Speaker 1: cracked machines, things that look like they might have once
- 13:15Speaker 1: been cars, and of course a whole bunch of sludge
- 13:22Speaker 1: sludge that was probably once sandwiches or something like that.
- 13:26Speaker 1: You lower the ship down over top of the dump,
- 13:30Speaker 1: scanning Quantum says as a soft blue light sweeps across
- 13:35Speaker 1: the place useful materials, detected metals, plastic, rubber, glass, wiring, electronics,
- 13:43Speaker 1: and several items that I strongly advise you do not touch.
- 13:48Speaker 1: We have everything we will need to easily repurpose into
- 13:53Speaker 1: a mechsuit. All right, perfect, Now activate the Starship collector.
- 14:02Speaker 1: You press a little button on the console and a
- 14:05Speaker 1: collector beam shoots down at the ground. A cone of
- 14:09Speaker 1: glowing energy shines outward, and pieces of junk begin lifting
- 14:14Speaker 1: from the piles. They rise into the beam, break apart
- 14:19Speaker 1: into shimmering particles and flow into the ship's storage tanks.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Inside the fabrication pay the printer comes to life. You
- 14:31Speaker 1: walk back to take a look. The first pieces of
- 14:36Speaker 1: the exo suit begin to form. You stand just outside,
- 14:41Speaker 1: watching with excitement as the helperbots fly back and forth.
- 14:45Speaker 1: They grab parts as they print and begin assembling them
- 14:49Speaker 1: on the platform. First comes huge legs. Long silver mechanical
- 14:56Speaker 1: frames lock together with blue glowing joints. Then the feet,
- 15:01Speaker 1: then the chest, framed the arms. The helper bots work
- 15:06Speaker 1: quickly snapping pieces together, welding them, tightening joints and connecting
- 15:12Speaker 1: glowing power lines and that sort of thing. This says amazing,
- 15:17Speaker 1: You say, thank you, Quantum replies, I thought it was
- 15:22Speaker 1: a good idea. The suit starts to look real very quickly.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Soon it stands on its own, though the chest is
- 15:32Speaker 1: still open and the helmet hasn't been attached yet. Then
- 15:37Speaker 1: something changes. At first, you see a light out of
- 15:42Speaker 1: one of the windows. You move over to take a
- 15:46Speaker 1: better look. You look at the ground, or around the ship,
- 15:51Speaker 1: or below the ship. As it darkens slightly, a strange
- 15:56Speaker 1: beam of purple green light shines down from the sky.
- 16:01Speaker 1: It's thin at first, almost like a laser pointer from space,
- 16:05Speaker 1: and then it widens. The lad spreads over the garbage dump.
- 16:11Speaker 1: A refrigerator door creaks open by itself. Quantum, I see it.
- 16:19Speaker 1: An old tire rolls across the ground. A bundle of
- 16:23Speaker 1: wires slides over a pile of scrap like a nest
- 16:27Speaker 1: of snakes. A broken washing machine rattles and tips forward. Quantum,
- 16:34Speaker 1: why is the garbage moving? I am currently analyzing that
- 16:40Speaker 1: that's not as good as already knowing. Pieces of trash
- 16:45Speaker 1: begin dragging themselves together. Metal pipes roll into place like bones.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Plastic sheets stretch across them like skin. Tires stack and twist.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Wires wrap around the whole thing like muscles. A washing
- 17:02Speaker 1: machine drum lifts up and locks into place near the top.
- 17:06Speaker 1: More and more garbage joins it. The pile rises and
- 17:12Speaker 1: rises and rises.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Soon.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Standing in the middle of the dump is a giant well,
- 17:20Speaker 1: a giant like garbage monster thing for lack of a
- 17:24Speaker 1: better word. Its body is made of twisted metal and
- 17:28Speaker 1: broken plastic. One arm is made of pipes and car parts,
- 17:33Speaker 1: the other is a huge claw of scrap metal. Its
- 17:37Speaker 1: head looks like an old machine drum with a jagged
- 17:41Speaker 1: mouth of broken steel. Purple green light glows in the
- 17:46Speaker 1: cracks between the pieces, and you take a step back.
- 17:51Speaker 1: H Quantum, Yes, I don't think that's normal garbage behavior. No,
- 17:59Speaker 1: the monster turns to war the starship. Then it charges
- 18:05Speaker 1: its huge feet slam into the ground, shaking the whole dump.
- 18:11Speaker 1: It swings one massive arm and smashes into the side
- 18:15Speaker 1: of the floating starship. The shield flashes blue and the
- 18:20Speaker 1: whole thing shakes. You fall over, shield integrity holding, Quantum says,
- 18:28Speaker 1: for now, the garbage monster hits the ship again. What
- 18:33Speaker 1: do we do, you ask? We cannot allow it to continue,
- 18:38Speaker 1: Quantum replies. The signal appears to be programming the garbage
- 18:43Speaker 1: into a temporary physical form. If it leaves this area,
- 18:48Speaker 1: it may threaten nearby roads, forests, homes, or citizens. So
- 18:54Speaker 1: we have to stop it. Yes, how Quantum and pauses.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Then the chest of the almost finished exosuit opens wider.
- 19:07Speaker 1: The main structure of the suit is operational. You stare
- 19:11Speaker 1: at it. You want me to use the mech suit? Yes,
- 19:17Speaker 1: but it isn't finished. No, it seems important that it
- 19:22Speaker 1: be finished. It's less important than being flattened by a
- 19:26Speaker 1: garbage monster. It is currently in working condition, though there
- 19:30Speaker 1: are improvements to make. Another huge crash shakes the ship
- 19:35Speaker 1: in the air. You run towards the suit. The helper
- 19:40Speaker 1: bods zip around you, making last second adjustments to the thing.
- 19:44Speaker 1: One of them attaches the helmet. Another locks a glowing
- 19:48Speaker 1: power core into the back. The chest frame opens up
- 19:53Speaker 1: like a giant metal rib cage. Please step inside, Quantum says. Quickly,
- 20:00Speaker 1: be ideal. You climb into the suit. The metal feet
- 20:05Speaker 1: close around your shoes. Mechanical supports wrapped gently but firmly
- 20:10Speaker 1: around your legs. The arms fold around your arms. The
- 20:14Speaker 1: chest plate locks in place. The helmet lowers over your head,
- 20:20Speaker 1: and for a second, everything goes black. Then the display
- 20:26Speaker 1: lights up. You're suddenly looking through the suit's eyes. Somehow, numbers, maps,
- 20:35Speaker 1: and glowing outlines appear across your vision. You can see
- 20:40Speaker 1: the garbage monster, the inside of the spacesuit, the helper
- 20:46Speaker 1: bots flying around and out of the way. Movements sink initiated,
- 20:53Speaker 1: Quantum says. You lift your right hand, and the suit
- 20:57Speaker 1: lifts its right hand. You move your fingers, and the
- 21:02Speaker 1: suit moves its fingers. It's as if you are the suit,
- 21:08Speaker 1: more than as if you're controlling it. Oh, this is cool.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Please focus. The monster is approaching. You watch as the
- 21:19Speaker 1: monster approaches the ship and swings for another hit.
- 21:24Speaker 4: You take a.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Step forward and leap out of the back of the ship.
- 21:30Speaker 1: The suit flies through the air and lands on the
- 21:34Speaker 1: ground in front of the garbage monster. The ground shakes
- 21:38Speaker 1: beneath your metal feet. The garbage creature swings and you
- 21:44Speaker 1: duck barely in time. It scrap metal fist roars over
- 21:49Speaker 1: your head and smashes into a pile of old appliances
- 21:52Speaker 1: behind you. Martial arts assistance activated Quantum says, martial arts
- 21:59Speaker 1: is sense. You say, basic defensive movement patterns are built
- 22:05Speaker 1: into the ship. They should help you. The monster swings again,
- 22:10Speaker 1: but this time your suit moves almost before you think
- 22:14Speaker 1: about it. You block with your left arm. Metal crashes
- 22:19Speaker 1: against metal. The impact shakes through the whole suit, but
- 22:24Speaker 1: you stay standing. Then you punch your giant mechanical fist
- 22:30Speaker 1: slams into the monster's chest. Garbage explodes outward. A hubcab
- 22:37Speaker 1: flies into the air, A toaster spins past your shoulder.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Something that might have once been a lawn chair clatters
- 22:44Speaker 1: across the dirt. The creature stumbles back and roars with
- 22:49Speaker 1: a really strange sort of grinding sound. More trash rolls
- 22:55Speaker 1: in from nearby piles and attaches to its body, filling
- 22:59Speaker 1: the holes you just made. Oh come on, you say,
- 23:04Speaker 1: the signal is allowing it to reform. Quantum explains, you
- 23:09Speaker 1: must disable it more completely. The monster charges again. You
- 23:14Speaker 1: run toward it. Running in the mech suit feels strange
- 23:18Speaker 1: at first, but the suit honestly does most of the work.
- 23:22Speaker 1: The legs pump powerfully. The ground thuds beneath you, and
- 23:26Speaker 1: you leap. The boosters on your back flare for a second,
- 23:31Speaker 1: launching you higher than expected. You slam into the monster's
- 23:36Speaker 1: shoulder first. Both of you crash into a pile of
- 23:40Speaker 1: old tires. You roll, push yourself up and grab one
- 23:45Speaker 1: of the monster's pipe arms with both hands. The suit's
- 23:49Speaker 1: strength surges, You pull, and the arm rips free in
- 23:53Speaker 1: a shower of wires and bolts. The monster smacks you
- 23:58Speaker 1: with its other arm. You fly backward and land hard
- 24:02Speaker 1: on your back. Only somehow it doesn't hurt at all.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Damage minimal, Quantum says. You groan and push yourself up.
- 24:12Speaker 1: The creature is already rebuilding its arm. Uh, Quantum, I
- 24:17Speaker 1: don't think punching is working fast enough.
- 24:20Speaker 4: I agree.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Freeze Ray is now online. A panel opens on your
- 24:25Speaker 1: right arm. A glowing blue emitter slides forward. You lift
- 24:31Speaker 1: your arm and a crosshair appears in your helmet display.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Try to aim for the center of the mass, Quantum says.
- 24:40Speaker 1: You point at the garbage creature and pull the trigger mentally.
- 24:46Speaker 1: A brilliant blue beam blasts from your arm. It hits
- 24:50Speaker 1: the monster in the chest, and frost spreads across the garbage.
- 24:56Speaker 1: The monster slows. You fire again, weeping the beam down
- 25:01Speaker 1: across its legs. Ice crawls over the metal and plastic,
- 25:06Speaker 1: freezing the creature to the ground. It strains against the ice.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Garbage creaks and cracks. Now, Quantum says, you pull your
- 25:17Speaker 1: mechfist back, run at the creature, and punch as hard
- 25:23Speaker 1: as you can. Your fist slams into the frozen garbage monster.
- 25:29Speaker 1: For a second, not much happens, and then well the
- 25:33Speaker 1: creature shatters. Frozen trash bursts outward in every direction. Chunks
- 25:39Speaker 1: of metal, plastic, rubber, and ice shatter and scatter across
- 25:44Speaker 1: the dump. The purple green glow flickers once and then disappears.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Everything goes quiet. You stand there in the exo suit,
- 25:56Speaker 1: breathing hard, even though the suit did most of the work.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I think we did it, you say, yes, Quantum replies,
- 26:05Speaker 1: the physical construct has been disabled. Warning, Warning, Your smile disappears.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Oh what is it? External intrusion? Detected symbols flash across
- 26:20Speaker 1: your helmet display. The starship's lights flicker. Quantum's face appears
- 26:25Speaker 1: in the corner of your screen. But it's sort of glitching. Quantum.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Something is attempting to access my system. You feel your
- 26:37Speaker 1: stomach tightened. The garbage monster. No, the garbage monster was
- 26:44Speaker 1: only a tool. The signal is still active. The purple
- 26:49Speaker 1: green light flickers again across the ground, then across the starship.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Can you stop it? I am blocking the intrusion, Quantum says, However,
- 27:03Speaker 1: the signal is strong. It appears to be transmitting from orbit.
- 27:09Speaker 1: You look up through the helm advisor. Far above in
- 27:13Speaker 1: the blue sky, a tiny dark shape moves slowly across
- 27:18Speaker 1: the sunlight. Uh sat await, you ask, correct, it is
- 27:25Speaker 1: amplifying and producing the signal. What happens if it works
- 27:31Speaker 1: and hacks into you? That would be bad. Quantum answers, Uh, Okay, Well,
- 27:41Speaker 1: I guess we have to stop it. Then you run
- 27:45Speaker 1: over towards the starship and jump up in the air,
- 27:48Speaker 1: activating the booster rockets and landing in the little bay.
- 27:54Speaker 1: The exo suit opens up and you quickly climb out.
- 27:58Speaker 1: You race towards the pilot's seat and drop inside. All right,
- 28:04Speaker 1: let's go head straight for the satellite. I guess you order.
- 28:09Speaker 1: The starship lifts off and blasts straight up towards the sky.
- 28:15Speaker 1: The abandoned dump drops away beneath you as you take
- 28:20Speaker 1: control of the steering wheel, aiming straight up towards where
- 28:25Speaker 1: you last saw the little well the little black dot
- 28:30Speaker 1: far off in space. Clouds rush past, the blue sky
- 28:35Speaker 1: darkens and stars appear. Soon you find yourself in space.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Quantum highlights the satellite on the main screen. It doesn't
- 28:48Speaker 1: look like a normal satellite. It's dark, with broken panels
- 28:53Speaker 1: and strange purple green circuitry glowing through it. Bits of
- 28:59Speaker 1: metal and jump cling to its side, as if it's
- 29:02Speaker 1: been infected or well pulled together out of garbage. It
- 29:08Speaker 1: looks kind of corrupted or something. You say that is
- 29:14Speaker 1: an accurate description. A beam flashes from the satellite. The
- 29:20Speaker 1: starship shakes as the shields light up. Signal strength increasing,
- 29:26Speaker 1: Quantum says, struggling, Well, what weapons do we have to
- 29:32Speaker 1: take it out? Or whatever? I have connected these ships
- 29:36Speaker 1: freeze cannon, of course you have. You love freeze cannons,
- 29:40Speaker 1: don't you. A targeting display appears. You grab the controls,
- 29:46Speaker 1: line up the crosshairs and fire. The crosshairs turn blue,
- 29:54Speaker 1: and a massive beam of icy blue energy blasts from
- 29:58Speaker 1: the front of the starship and strikes the satellite. Ice
- 30:01Speaker 1: spreads across its panels. It begins to sort of flicker.
- 30:07Speaker 1: I suggest we now use the disruptor cannon, Quantum says,
- 30:13Speaker 1: and a different cannon pops out of the side of
- 30:16Speaker 1: the ship. The crosshairs turn red. You aim at the
- 30:21Speaker 1: frozen mass, pull the trigger, and a beam of red
- 30:26Speaker 1: energy shoots from the ship, blasts into the frozen satellite
- 30:31Speaker 1: and breaks it apart into thousands and thousands of pieces.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I believe the signal has dissipated. Good work. I suggest
- 30:45Speaker 1: we collect the broken pieces so they don't cause problems
- 30:49Speaker 1: down on Earth. A cone of energy reaches out from
- 30:54Speaker 1: the starship and begins pulling in the frozen satellite pieces.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Just like the garbage does. They break down as they
- 31:04Speaker 1: enter into little shimmering particles before flowing into the storage tanks.
- 31:11Speaker 1: What exactly was that, you ask, Quantum That is currently unknown.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I believe another entity, something smart and powerful like myself,
- 31:25Speaker 1: was attempting to disrupt our plans. I believe we should
- 31:32Speaker 1: return home for the time being. You press forward on
- 31:37Speaker 1: the throttle, turn the ship around, and blast down towards
- 31:43Speaker 1: the earth. Soon, the darkness around you is replaced by
- 31:48Speaker 1: a bright blue light. You pass through the Earth's atmosphere,
- 31:53Speaker 1: down below the clouds, and fly at incredible speed back
- 31:59Speaker 1: towards your home. When you see a familiar sight the
- 32:04Speaker 1: surroundings of your own house, you switch it into hover mode.
- 32:10Speaker 1: You gently lower the ship down beside your home and
- 32:16Speaker 1: the hatch opens up. The ship lowers inside, the hatch
- 32:22Speaker 1: closes over top, and you land with a small hiss
- 32:27Speaker 1: and a gentle thunk. The back hatch opens up and
- 32:33Speaker 1: you step outside. Immediately, helper bods begin well repairing anything
- 32:40Speaker 1: that might have gone wrong with the ship. I will
- 32:43Speaker 1: need to analyze this information. I suggest you get some sleep, okay,
- 32:51Speaker 1: you say. You head back for the bottom of the slide.
- 32:55Speaker 1: You step up on it, sit down, and a little
- 33:00Speaker 1: platform appears below your feet. Pushing you back up the slide,
- 33:06Speaker 1: around the little loops and into the center of your bedroom.
- 33:12Speaker 1: You step off of the little hatch, the bed slides
- 33:16Speaker 1: back in place, and you climb inside it. You pull
- 33:22Speaker 1: the covers up to your chin, close your eyes, and
- 33:28Speaker 1: you begin to just let the tension and your muscles
- 33:32Speaker 1: drift away. You start by letting go of any tension
- 33:37Speaker 1: in your arms, any tension in your legs, and with
- 33:43Speaker 1: each breath you sink down deeper and deeper into the mattress,
- 33:50Speaker 1: and your mind begins to wander off to thoughts of
- 33:55Speaker 1: new dreams, new adventures, and new things missed to print
- 34:01Speaker 1: in the future.
- 34:03Speaker 4: Good Night everyone, nam.
- 38:33Speaker 5: In New York. More Union, no no thing, no.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Mo m.
- 46:45Speaker 5: M one one mo
- 50:00Speaker 1: M
