Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: My name is Mickey.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I'm your host.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: And joining me today is Bethany.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: And this podcast is a place where we love to just open up God's word and share the scripture and talk about it and just dive in as deep as we can go so that we can just get the full grasp of what God has promised us.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: God's word is nothing but the most ultimate promise that we could ever ask for.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: And so I'm excited because we just finished up a huge series on the fruit of the spirit.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: So we hope that you you were able to get in there and um listen to some of those episodes because they were very powerful, very lit, um, very deep.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: And so today we are shifting gears into another episode um where we are going to be talking about um just the desire and the needing and the wanting to thirst for God more.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Um so this episode is called Are You Thirsty?
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: And I think that's a great title for this episode because sometimes I think we are not thirsty enough.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: I think we should be more thirsty than what we are.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: So today we're gonna dive in and um hopefully encourage you to want to dive into the word more and um as well as share um scripture with you today.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Bethany has um a lot of scripture to share today, and I can't wait to get started.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, hello, welcome in.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Glad you're here.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Great to be here.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Yes, and this episode will be another Holy Spirit led.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: So I'm excited to get into it.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Yes, me too.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: I think I think that um as we get closer to the end, I I feel like I see, you know, it says in the Bible we're gonna see that division um between those that are truly desiring God and those that are kind of walking away.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: And my desire honestly is try to lead people back to God, um, people that are going astray, people, those that are confused, those or that are still wandering around in the wilderness, um, just seeking and and and allowing the enemy to cause such chaos and confusion in their life when God just wants to bring nothing but peace.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited about today.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Can't wait until um we dive into the scripture.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Do you would would you like to open us up in prayer this morning?
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Yes, let's pray.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: Thank you for this time that we have to open your word and to see what you have for us, to just take time to focus on the truth, your truth, what you want us to learn, and we pray that each of those who listen or watch this episode would feel your presence, feel your power, and take this, Lord.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Use it, please.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: We pray, Lord.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: You know what each one needs from this, and we thank you for what you will do to it.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: In Jesus' name, amen.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: So I have a question that I want to ask everyone today that's listening.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: I want to ask you a question, and that question is: are you thirsty?
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Are you actually thirsty?
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Are you thirsting for the knowledge of God, the wisdom of God, the power of God, the promise of God, um, God in general?
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: And I think that um we feel, or I feel, I'll speak for myself, that um sometimes, um, and Bethany and I have spoken on this several times, sometimes we like to just check God off in like he's in the little boxes.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, we did our due diligence today, and we just check it off, and we set the Bible down and we just go about our business.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: But are you thirsting for God enough to just take God with you everywhere you go, everything you do, um, keeping God at the direct center of everything that you're walking through.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we try to walk through things alone, and the enemy wants to actually invite us to try to step out on our own accord because he knows that's when we're gonna fall.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: He knows that he's gonna be able to trip us up, he knows that he's gonna cause confusion, he's gonna be able to distract us in any way he can.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: And he is so busy right now.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: He's so, so busy trying to detour you away from God.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: So I just really want you to think about this as we go through the lesson today and think about how much are you desiring to have that ultimate relationship with God?
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Above all, it's such an important place that you need to be in.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: Um, it's a it's a relationship that is only gonna better and help you through your walk and through life and through everything that we're we're we're going through.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: And so I just want to really encourage you today as we dive into these scriptures that you just sit and ponder um and and ask yourself the question, how thirsty am I?
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: How thirsty am I for God?
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Am I really thirsty, or am I just taking a sip of water and and and I'm done?
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: That's I'm that's enough for me today.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: I want it to be to where we just can't seem to get enough to drink.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Like we just need more and more and more.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: And the thing about God is He has He has so much to offer us in abundance that that we don't ever have to be thirsty.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: We don't ever have to be thirsty as long as we're calling out to God and we're leaning on Him.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: So um Bethany, I know you have a lot of great scriptures today, so I'm gonna let you dive in and lead it, lead the direction and tell us where we're gonna start off today.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Thank you for that.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Thank you for um that question and for what you mentioned about it, because it that question does need to go beyond just this podcast.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: That question needs to go throughout the whole world, and so the verses that I'm I'll be focusing on today are in relation to are people thirsty enough to have a relationship with God by becoming a Christian.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: So if you're already a Christian, that's wonderful, that's great.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: Keep listening to this, keep watching this, because again, the verses that I'm gonna share will hopefully help strengthen you in your desire to share with others and to point them to the Lord and to quench their thirst.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: The greatest thirst that anyone ever has, I truly believe, is not a physical thirst, but it is that spiritual thirst.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: And so let's dive in.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: Not you know, not overwhelmingly deep, but again to help you to strengthen you.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: That if if you are a Christian, that's wonderful, being able to point others to Christ.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: And if you're not yet a Christian, maybe giving you that push not to um force you into something, but to gently just maybe quench your longing to have a relationship with the Lord, because again, that I truly believe that is the most powerful and most important, the greatest relationship that anyone can ever have.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: And so let's look at these verses.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: Starting out with Revelation twenty-two, verse seventeen, which says the spirit and the bird say calm and not him that is that heareth, say calm, and not him that is at thirst, come and whosoever and whosoever will let him take the water of life freely.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: Um that I think we will take an episode probably just on that one verse, or having that verse in a smaller group, but coming.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: That verse starts out by saying the spirit, the holy spirit, and the bread.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Christians who are already Christians, they're all saying, Come.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: And then it goes on, like him that is a thirst.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: Come.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: Not go figure it out on your own, not you know, not anything else.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: But those who are thirsty come to the Lord come and personally all these verses I'm going to be referencing and same.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: I I get somewhat emotional about them because that truly is my heart's desire as well.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: For not just those of you who are listening or watching us, but everyone come to Jesus.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: Let your thirst be quenched.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: If you've ever experienced physical thirst that is so powerful, then would you please consider that about your soul and your spirit as well because I guarantee you God will meet you there wherever you're at, you will quench your soul's thirst.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, do you have any insights on this?
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: Um, two things I want to point out to the scripture.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Like you said, there's a lot to it, but um, us being the brightest Christians, God is grooming the church, he's grooming us.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: We're getting ready.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: We're getting ready, we are getting ready for the wedding.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's that's gonna happen sooner than than we think.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: And um, and he's doing that through his Holy Spirit.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: He he is getting us ready.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: But the thing is, is God doesn't want any of us to perish.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: Um, there's scripture on that.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't have that pulled up, but he he he doesn't want any of us to perish.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: That's why it says, let him take the water of life freely.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: It's a free gift.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: It's free.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: The water's free.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: How many times have we signed up and paid for something and got nothing?
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Hello?
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, come on.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: This is something that's free.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: He's given it to us freely, and he he did it willingly.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: When Jesus went to the cross, he did it freely.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: He he died for us, you know, and he didn't have to do any of that for us.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Um, and none of us are worthy of what he did for us, but but he did it anyway.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: And once we become saved and we become Christians, we become the bride, and the bride has to get ready for the wedding.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: And right now we are not ready.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: The reason Jesus hasn't come back yet is because the bride is not ready.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: He is waiting.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: We are to be getting ready.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: And I don't know if any of you understand or know them that the depth of preparing for a wedding is it's it can be a lot.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of preparation to it.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: And God wants us to be fully prepared when he comes back, he doesn't want us to be um dinking around and just kind of meandering around and you know, you know, like I said earlier, you know, walking around lost in the wilderness.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: He wants us to be ready.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: But he also wants whoever, it says, who soever will that wants to join in on that wedding, he wants you to come and he wants you to come freely because he has a gift for you as well.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: It's not just for the bride, because we are the bride.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: We all of his children are the bride.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: So when I say not just for the bride, it's for the lost as well.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: People that have not quite yet done it.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: That's why he says, you can come and get your free gift.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Come and get a drink of water, come and get this water.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: And once you do, once you experience it, once you have it, and you allow God to work in and through you, it's gonna change your whole life.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: Not just here on earth, but for eternity.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Right now, if you're not saved, all you have is life here.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: You don't have an eternal life, unfortunately.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: And we will get into that a whole nother episode, because that is really a powerful um toe-stomping episode, but but for later we'll do that.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: So I just really again be thinking over these scriptures as we bring them to you that um there's so much to it, but it's really not.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: It's free.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: Like someone offers you a drink of water, do you take it?
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: Someone offers you a free gift, do you take it?
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: I'm surprised, um, Bethany, how many times people offer free things and people say no.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: No, thank you.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: No, I don't want it.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Yet they'll go spend hundreds and hundreds and thousands and thousands of dollars on things that aren't free and get nothing in return.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Nothing in return.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: You know, and they don't even get a return policy on the money that they spend on it.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: So they don't even get a refund.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: God gives it to, God gives his his water to us freely.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: And look at the great return.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: The return is uh in abundance.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: So as we continue on, I just want you to keep that in mind, um, these scriptures, because they're very deep.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: They're very deep, and we don't want to go too deep, but like Bethany said, but when we're talking about being thirsty, I mean, just think about crawling in the desert, just dying of thirst.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Like you're so, so thirsty.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: This is how thirsty God wants us to be for him.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: He wants us to have that desire.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: He's waiting.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: He's sitting, he's waiting there with a cup that's overflowing for you.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: Each and every one of us, he has enough for.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: And it says, take the water of life freely.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: That's your entire life, clear to eternity.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: Not oh, end of life, end of story.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: This is an eternal thirst, this is an eternal reward.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: So keep that in mind as we're diving through these scriptures.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, that's excellent to bring up and to have us think about and not and not just think about right now, but think about it next week and next month, and for as long as you live.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: You know, come back to this episode, listen to it, watch it, and gain more from it.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: And even with our other episodes that we've done, do that with them as well.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: As long as they're available, you know, and so now another passage that I want to focus on.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Um this is Jesus or God talking directly.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: And um, I don't know about you, but for me, when when I read passages like this, I really, you know, can envision God talking directly to me.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Not not in some weird, you know, vision or whatever people would talk about, but honestly, in a personal Holy Spirit led the way.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: And so this passage in Isaiah chapter forty-one and verses starting in verse seventeen verse seventeen when the poor and needy seek water and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: I the Lord will hear them.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Verse 18.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: I will open rivers in high places and fountains in the midst of the valleys.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: Verse 19.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shidda, shidda tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: I will set in the desert, the fir tree, and the pine, and the botch tree together.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: Verse 20 that they may see.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: And know and consider and understand together that the hand of the Lord hath done this and the Holy One of Israel has created it.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: Um verse twenty that they may see and know and consider and understand um wow.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: I do believe that passage will be another episode because if I were to f focus too much right now on it, our episode would be quite long.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: So um yeah that they may see and know and consider and understand you have that desire.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: If you have that desire to others around you.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: Have that desire?
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: How desirous are we?
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: How spiritually thirsty are we?
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: Because there is gonna come a time when as we've said on these episodes before when time will cease to exist, and at that time it will be too late, and to truly understand God's heart for everyone, even those who are outwardly doing wrong, who are outwardly doing things that go against God.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: Second part of that, Mickey was the part that you were referencing I believe that God's not willing that any should perish.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: No one is excluded we're seeing some great awful stuff going on in the world.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: Any should perish.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: The neck the only thought I have is on the past passage as well as this one.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: Um, because this one I think we could really, you know, dive into.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: But if you imagine the wilderness is so dry, and yet God plants trees in in various places, and they need water.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: Everything on earth like needs water to grow.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: We need water, the trees, the plants, um, animals.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: We we all need water.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: And we think about the desert and how dry it is, and yet he plants these trees.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: And when we look at these trees, we think how are they living and surviving in this heat, in this dry, desolate place?
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: And I love that God uses the trees as an analogy for showing that he understands, he knows, he gets it.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: And even combining the trees together, because it's not just like, oh, well, that tree must, that one tree must have be very, you know, doesn't require much water, but all of those trees, all those different trees, that's why he planted different trees.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: Because some of those trees would require a lot, you know, a lot of water to thrive.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: And it's interesting to say see that because a lot of times when we're thirsty, we think that God is not listening and God is not hearing us, and we're alone in it, like the poor.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Um, when when the poor is lacking that, God knows and God sees.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: That's why it says that the poor is going to inherit the earth, not the rich.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: So we need to be mindful of that as well.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: And that's another scripture.
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: We have talked about that previously, but I wanted to, it just came to my mind.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: But um, again, so that you know, God really does not want anyone to perish.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: And it's really as simple as repentance.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: It's that simple.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: We we as human beings complicate everything, we have to make it complicated.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: God is not a complicated being, you know, his all supernatural, powerful, omnipotent being is not complicated.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: We are what complicate it.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: And literally, all we have to do is be patient in God, repent, and trust the process.
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: Trust him.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: If we would stop trying to do everything ourselves and worry about everything and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, all this stuff, all this stuff, we just sort of stop and be like, you know what, God, I'm just gonna trust you.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: And whatever happens today happens.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: Um, you'd be surprised what would what actually would really happen when you just hand it all over to God.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: So, you know what, God, you can have it, you know.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Um, trials and tribulations are still gonna come.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: We're still gonna be faced with it with adversity because the enemy is still reigning the earth.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: We need to understand who's reigning the earth.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: But God is reigning all of everything.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: That and the earth.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: So that and then some, the earth and then some.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: He's just given the enemy a little bit of a little bit of playtime.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: He gave him a little playground to play in, basically.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: Think about it like that.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: Um, and we get to choose whether we want to participate in the playground or if we want the whole picture.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: So that's where we have to repent and we have to just allow God to do what he's doing and be patient with him and know that he does not want any of us to perish.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: We think sometimes God has it out for us.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: There's times I really thought God had it out for me.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: You know, like, you know, and I used to think this, you know, with my childhood, and and you know, you know, God must not have really liked me too much to allow certain certain things to happen in my life.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: I've said that before, and I've had to repent.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: And if that's you, you should repent because that's not the God that we serve.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: That's the God that the enemy wants us to think that we serve.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: There's some miscuity in that, and the enemy really wants to detour our thinking, and it's called stinking thinking when the enemy tries to tell us that we are not worthy of God's love.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: He has so much love to give.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: It's um, it's unreal.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: We can't even, we can't even process or fathom how much love he has.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: We can't even love one another the way God loves us.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: It's it's actually virtually impossible to love as much as God does.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: That's how much he loves us.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: He allowed his son to die, a brutal death for us.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: And his son did it willingly.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: So there's things to consider when we think about that.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: When we think, what I have to repent or I'm gonna perish.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: We need to repent.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: We we we have done some things since Adam and Eve.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: It started in the very beginning.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: Some of it was laid before us.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: That foundation kind of was set in stone before we got here.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: It was set in stone with our parents.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: That's where generational curses come from.
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: That's why we have to crush strongholds.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: There's things that have been set before us that we kind of live through and we kind of have to figure out.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: And God knows that too.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: God knows that.
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: He understands that.
- 32:01SPEAKER_00: He still loves us.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: You know, he knows the road that we're walking, he knows, he knows the cards we've been dealt, he knows all of it.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: He but his he desires, he has a desire for us to not perish and just repent and just go run to the Father.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you know the song Run to the Father, but it's a great song.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: Look it up, listen to it.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: It's a wonderful, wonderful song.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: He wants us to run to him.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: So these scriptures kind of make me think about all of that when it I think about being thirsty.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: I think about being so thirsty that I just want to run to him.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: I want to run and jump in his arms, you know.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: And and I can't, I can't wait for the day, honestly.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: I can't wait for the day.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: I'm excited um for that day to come.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I I love my family and I I love my life and I love things, but I I really desire the day that I get to run and jump into Jesus' arms.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: I cannot wait.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: Or fall at his feet, or whatever it is that happens, you know.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: I know we're all gonna we're all gonna kneel and bow, but um to to run into the Father is something I cannot wait.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: And I thirst for that.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: That's something I actually long for.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: And I think as Christians, we all should be longing for that.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: And if we're not, then we're missing something.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: So, and I think that these scriptures are gonna help kind of bring some of that to the light.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: So um, I think these are wonderful scriptures that you bring in today.
- 33:25SPEAKER_00: So I'll let you continue on so we can we can go to the next one.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: Yes, uh powerfully said, um worth um thinking about and just contemplating.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what would God have me do?
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: Um so now as we continue on here, another verse that's about freedom that comes with spiritual thirst being quenched, Isaiah fifty-five and verse one says, Oh everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that has no money, come ye and eat come by wine and milk without money and without price, and so that this verse is emphasizing the fact that it's free's price on it.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: You can never have enough money to buy spiritual life, and if you're if you are a Christian right now, that is what you have done.
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: You haven't paid money for salvation, you have repented and accepted God's gift of salvation.
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: It's that easy it's honestly that simple.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: I know some people have differing views on what simple actually means, and so but honestly, doing what it takes to become a Christian is as simple as repenting and believing in Jesus as Savior, accepting him.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: And so this verse clearly tells us that no amount of money is able to be given for our salvation.
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: And so people who would think, well, you know, I can I can somehow just buy salvation.
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: No.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: Nope, it's not possible.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: That's why I love this verse again because it it shows us clearly that no amount of money is sufficient, and so all we have to do, all anyone has to do is come to Jesus, come to God.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: I I think of the woman at the well, that experience in the Bible, back in Bible Test, Jesus was already sitting at the well, and so when that lady came, Jesus was there, and I do believe that is one of the pictures for us to know that Jesus is there, he's waiting for us to come.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: The question is, will we swallow our pride and just come?
- 39:13SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's most if not all of these verses we've shared have the word come in them, and so and there's other verses in the Bible.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: Matthew 11, 28.
- 39:40SPEAKER_01: Um, we're not going to specifically reference that one today, but Matthew 28 is another one.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: When Jesus was teaching his disciples, Matthew 11, 28, he said, Come unto me.
- 40:04SPEAKER_01: All you that labor and are heavy laden, and and sorry, and I will give you rest.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: That should give us so much confidence that we can come to God.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: We can come to Jesus whenever we need to.
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: Even at two in the morning.
- 40:47SPEAKER_01: I won't go into that at spirits, but I guarantee you God will meet you wherever you're at at two in the morning.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: Ask me later how I know.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: So, Mickey, do you have thoughts on this verse?
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: Actually, I have a couple, a couple real quick, but one thing I wanted to share with you is the word come or cometh or coming or cometh is mentioned over 2,000 times in the Bible.
- 41:27SPEAKER_00: So keep that in mind.
- 41:30SPEAKER_00: How many times God says to come, like and that's an that's what I like about the scripture that you brought to the table in Isaiah, it's an invitation.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: It's it's that is an invitation to come.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: It's very clear, it's a blatant open invitation.
- 41:51SPEAKER_00: Just says, Come.
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: Um, for the thirsty to receive spiritual nourishment, that the water, the milk, the wine freely without cost.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: Because you know what?
- 41:59SPEAKER_00: You know why it's free, you guys?
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: Jesus already paid the price.
- 42:05SPEAKER_00: He paid for everything.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: You know when you go to the grocery store and you're you're with someone and somebody like pays it for and they want to pay your bill?
- 42:13SPEAKER_00: Or you go through the have you ever gone through like the coffee?
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't drink coffee, but I mean uh fast food or wherever, and somebody ahead of you pays for you, and you're like, wow, somebody paid my bill.
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: Think about this.
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: Jesus already paid the price.
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: We don't have to pay it.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: We may show up thinking that we do, we don't.
- 42:34SPEAKER_00: We may show up thinking that it's necessary, it's not.
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: We may show up thinking, well, I've made these mistakes, I'm gonna have to pay for something.
- 42:42SPEAKER_00: We don't.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: We don't pay for nothing.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: It's zero, it's not a because Jesus paid the ultimate price.
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: There's no amount of anything, no works, no money, no goodness that could buy your way into heaven, by the way.
- 43:02SPEAKER_00: People think goodness, as long as I'm good.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: I'm a if I'm a good girl, I'll go to heaven.
- 43:07SPEAKER_00: If I'm a good boy, I'll go to heaven.
- 43:09SPEAKER_00: It's that that that has a little bit to do with it, but it's on a spiritual realm, it has nothing to do with it.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: That is not what it says in his invitation.
- 43:19SPEAKER_00: His invitation says, it's free, freely come, freely come to me, that all will receive and no one will perish.
- 43:27SPEAKER_00: Repent of your sins and come.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: That's it, guys.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: And it's like we said in the beginning, and we'll we'll say it over and over and over again until it registers really deep within us.
- 43:38SPEAKER_00: It is simple.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: God is not gonna complicate it.
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: He complicated it when he went to the cross.
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: That was complicated.
- 43:48SPEAKER_00: We didn't have to, we didn't have to carry that complication.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: We didn't have to carry the struggle, the pain, the anguish, the hurt, the all that went with salvation.
- 43:57SPEAKER_00: We didn't have we don't have to endure any of that because.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: He did it already for us.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: And when we think about what we go through in life, and I know there's some people that is like, woe is me, my life is so bad.
- 44:09SPEAKER_00: I'm like Eeyore, you know, oh my, you know, you know, just that poor me.
- 44:14SPEAKER_00: And and we we do have that mentality sometimes, and sometimes we are going through things, and God understands and he recognizes that.
- 44:22SPEAKER_00: But we will never go through what Jesus went through.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: It's impossible.
- 44:27SPEAKER_00: It can never ever be done again.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: One, God wouldn't allow it.
- 44:32SPEAKER_00: And for two, why would he allow it when he he gave his only son to die for us?
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: So that we could become sons and daughters of his.
- 44:42SPEAKER_00: He did that so that we could become children, his children, because he loved us that much.
- 44:48SPEAKER_00: So if we we think about that, that's an Isaiah 55, one is an invitation for the thirsty.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: If you are thirsty right now, he's inviting you right now to come.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: Right now.
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: Not tomorrow, not next week, not not oh well, after the podcast or or after I decide after let me go eat some lunch, let me right now, the invitation is there.
- 45:11SPEAKER_00: The invitation's been there all along.
- 45:14SPEAKER_00: And if it wasn't given to you, I'm sorry that it wasn't, but it's given to you right now.
- 45:18SPEAKER_00: And today, Bethany and I are telling you, if you're thirsty, accept the invitation.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: It is a free gift.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: People say no to the free stuff all the time.
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: This is one gift you don't want to pass up.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: So I encourage everyone that's listening.
- 45:36SPEAKER_00: This is so powerful, so deep, and it costs nothing for you.
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: You will not lose anything, but you will gain your own soul.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: You're gonna gain your own, your very own soul, your own worth, your own value, your own everything.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have that in abundance through Christ.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: If you think you're lacking now, you won't be lacking if you have Jesus.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: You won't be net lacking never ever again if you have Jesus.
- 46:05SPEAKER_00: How many times have you gone through the lot your life and been like, man?
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, excuse the expression, but man, sometimes I say this sucks.
- 46:14SPEAKER_00: And I don't like that word very much, but it does.
- 46:16SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I feel like I just want to say that, you know.
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: I'm like, man, and then I think, you know what, it really doesn't, because I have everything if I have Jesus.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: We need nothing if we if we have Jesus.
- 46:30SPEAKER_00: We don't need anything else.
- 46:33SPEAKER_00: And and and when we meet Jesus face to face and we get to see it firsthand and and we get to witness it, and we are already witnessing.
- 46:42SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you guys realize how much we are actually witnessing to the actual word of God being literally lived out and fulfilled right in front of our very eyes.
- 46:51SPEAKER_00: Like back in the day when Jesus walked the earth, those times are happening right now in front of us.
- 46:57SPEAKER_00: Right now, the Bible is being walked out and fulfilled in front in our time, in this generation, right now, as we speak.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: Not everybody gets this opportunity to see it firsthand.
- 47:11SPEAKER_00: But it makes me more excited because every time a prophecy is fulfilled in the Bible, I know that's one step closer for Jesus coming back.
- 47:20SPEAKER_00: And he can come back right now if he wants.
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: He doesn't have to fulfill the entire Bible if he doesn't want to.
- 47:26SPEAKER_00: But people have it, some people have every single thing written down and like he can't come until this happens.
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: He can come whenever he wants.
- 47:33SPEAKER_00: But I I mean, I'm waiting.
- 47:34SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I'll let you do whatever you want, God.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: It's your choice.
- 47:37SPEAKER_00: But you know, I just don't want it, I don't want to be left behind, and I don't want anybody else to be left behind.
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: That's why it says we want to make sure that you do not perish.
- 47:47SPEAKER_00: You need to know that this invitation is open and it's open for you today, and it's open for you right now.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: You don't have to wait on anything.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: So great scripture, Bethany.
- 47:56SPEAKER_00: Like it's the word is just great.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: It's alive, it's active, it's breathing.
- 48:01SPEAKER_00: It does everything it's supposed to be doing.
- 48:03SPEAKER_00: We're the ones that don't do the doing.
- 48:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: So we need to be taking that invitation, saying yes for once instead of saying no.
- 48:13SPEAKER_00: Take the free gift.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: So good word, Bethany.
- 48:17SPEAKER_00: Go ahead, I'll let you finish.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: All right, continuing on um in Luke chapter nineteen and verse time.
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: This verse is very very simple.
- 49:01SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't think we can overuse the word simple um when we're talking about God's word.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: And so this verse, Luke nineteen, verse ten, for the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
- 49:40SPEAKER_01: Now, does that sound like, you know, God is up in heaven and just ready to strike you dead, you know, when you sin or whatever.
- 50:02SPEAKER_01: Or, you know, sometimes one temptation Satan will use is well, you're too far gone for God to forgive you.
- 50:29SPEAKER_01: No.
- 50:33SPEAKER_01: Again, the word come is in this verse.
- 50:38SPEAKER_01: Now it it's talking about Jesus coming to seek and to save a shepherd as he watches his sheep protecting them from danger.
- 51:09SPEAKER_01: But if one of them strays, he goes looking for them.
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: And that's one of the analogies I think that this verse can help us with.
- 51:35SPEAKER_01: We can think about Jesus as a shepherd.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: And coming to seek, not only to seek though, but to save that which was lost.
- 51:58SPEAKER_01: So Christians, that's what he has done for us.
- 52:07SPEAKER_01: And those who are not yet Christians who may be watching this or listening to this, he's seeking you right now.
- 52:21SPEAKER_01: Again, right now.
- 52:26SPEAKER_01: So important to remember that.
- 52:35SPEAKER_01: So, Mickey, what what are your insights or thoughts on this?
- 52:44SPEAKER_00: Well, like you said, it's simple, you know, for the Son of Man is come to seek and save the lost, save that which is lost.
- 52:53SPEAKER_00: So when we talked about the bride earlier, he's not seeking after the Christians right now, by the way.
- 53:00SPEAKER_00: The Christians are already waiting for the wedding.
- 53:04SPEAKER_00: The the bride that's not ready are the ones that are lost.
- 53:09SPEAKER_00: And if that's you and you're still lost, and you're not part of the wedding, you're not you're not getting ready, you're not becoming the bride, then he's talking about you.
- 53:18SPEAKER_00: He's seeking you because he doesn't want you to be lost anymore.
- 53:24SPEAKER_00: He wants you to come.
- 53:25SPEAKER_00: He wants you to know that he is seeking you out.
- 53:29SPEAKER_00: He knows who you are already.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: I know what this reminds me of is those people that try to hide from God.
- 53:39SPEAKER_00: They try to hide, you know, in his they try to say, Oh, he's non-existent, or he's this, or he's that.
- 53:47SPEAKER_00: We're high-that's a hiding mechanism.
- 53:49SPEAKER_00: We're hiding behind something.
- 53:52SPEAKER_00: Usually flesh, usually something, a stronghold that's demonic or has a spiritual realm or a generational curse.
- 53:59SPEAKER_00: We we hide behind things.
- 54:02SPEAKER_00: And so we don't that we don't have to truly acknowledge things.
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: And God's are God, He's seeking you anyway.
- 54:12SPEAKER_00: He's gonna seek you out.
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: He's seeking the lost, he's not seeking the found.
- 54:18SPEAKER_00: Doesn't say he's gonna go out and look around, look all around for the people that have already found himself, you know, found themselves and found Jesus.
- 54:25SPEAKER_00: So if you are that person, if you are in hiding and you feel lost, accept the invitation.
- 54:34SPEAKER_00: Just stop and and just understand that Jesus is looking for you.
- 54:39SPEAKER_00: And he's not gonna quit looking for you.
- 54:41SPEAKER_00: He's gonna keep pining after you until the day comes when there's gonna be a day, there will be a day when it's over, and you will have had your chance.
- 54:54SPEAKER_00: You know, the ride will be done.
- 54:57SPEAKER_00: You will not get to take that ride if you don't take the chance now.
- 55:01SPEAKER_00: But God is seeking after you, He won't He doesn't want you to perish.
- 55:06SPEAKER_00: And like I said, the scripture is super simple, super simple.
- 55:10SPEAKER_00: It's it's pretty, it's written in red, but the simplicity is black and white.
- 55:14SPEAKER_00: I'll tell you that.
- 55:15SPEAKER_00: It very it very much so is.
- 55:17SPEAKER_00: There's nothing complicated about these words at all.
- 55:20SPEAKER_00: And I hear people say, Well, I don't understand.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: The Bible's so hard to understand.
- 55:25SPEAKER_00: There is nothing complicated about this scripture right here.
- 55:28SPEAKER_00: Not one word is complicated.
- 55:32SPEAKER_00: So if you are the lost and you're you're seeking, know that God is seeking you first.
- 55:38SPEAKER_00: Even before you thought to look for him, he was looking for you.
- 55:41SPEAKER_00: Before you thought about repenting, he died for you.
- 55:45SPEAKER_00: Before you thought about anything, he created a place and a way for you to be able to go into heaven instead of perishing in the pit of hell.
- 55:56SPEAKER_00: He thought about you.
- 55:57SPEAKER_00: The day he went to the cross, if you were the last person standing on this earth, he would still do it for you.
- 56:04SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 56:06SPEAKER_00: When I thought about that one day, and I thought, if I was the last person on earth, would Jesus come and die on the cross for me?
- 56:12SPEAKER_00: The answer is yes, he would.
- 56:16SPEAKER_00: Even as unworthy as I am, even as lost as I was.
- 56:22SPEAKER_00: And I know some some Christians walk around and they they are seeking God and they're acting lost.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: If you're a Christian, you're no longer lost, by the way.
- 56:34SPEAKER_00: You're found.
- 56:37SPEAKER_00: You're just you're just not sitting with the savior.
- 56:40SPEAKER_00: You're not you're not sitting with the one that found you.
- 56:43SPEAKER_00: If you're that Christian and you feel like you're still lost, you're not sitting with the savior.
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: You're sitting with something else that you need to probably pray about and ask God to help you out of.
- 56:55SPEAKER_00: If you feel lost as a Christian.
- 56:59SPEAKER_00: You cannot be lukewarm.
- 57:00SPEAKER_00: Revelations, I think, three, or maybe, is it three?
- 57:04SPEAKER_00: I think that says you cannot be lukewarm.
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: You you either have to be hot or cold.
- 57:09SPEAKER_00: Either you want it or you don't want it.
- 57:11SPEAKER_00: But if you're lukewarm, you're in big trouble.
- 57:14SPEAKER_00: So if you're a Christian and you're lost and God's seeking you out because God knows that you're really not sitting where you should be, be careful.
- 57:22SPEAKER_00: Be very careful.
- 57:25SPEAKER_00: But if you are lost and you don't know who Jesus is and you've never been saved, God is seeking you and the time is now.
- 57:31SPEAKER_00: The invitation has been given.
- 57:33SPEAKER_00: He wants you to be thirsty.
- 57:35SPEAKER_00: That thirst you're feeling is thirst for Him.
- 57:38SPEAKER_00: I guarantee it.
- 57:40SPEAKER_00: So again, good good scripture.
- 57:42SPEAKER_00: The scripture is just so good.
- 57:44SPEAKER_00: It's all good.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: Amen to all of what you've shared.
- 57:52SPEAKER_01: Um so powerful and again, so worthy of taking time to really sit with all of us, not just rushing through, but really just allowing the Holy Spirit to work.
- 58:20SPEAKER_01: Yes, we are bound by time, but God is not bound by time, He has unlimited time for each of us.
- 58:41SPEAKER_01: Let's not put him in a time limit.
- 58:48SPEAKER_01: Let's let him work.
- 58:53SPEAKER_01: And so as we continue on, yes, it's been a lot of scripture, but Mickey and I both want to make sure you understand and you know where the truth comes from.
- 59:25SPEAKER_01: And so as we continue on going now to John chapter six and verse thirty-five, this is another um section where Jesus is teaching his disciples.
- 59:57SPEAKER_01: So much teaching that was not only for then, but I do believe it's for now too.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_01: And so John says, Verse thirty-five.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_01: Jesus said unto them, I am the bird of life.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_01: He that cometh to me shall never hunger.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_01: And he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_01: I love that it does not just say we won't hunger or thirst.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: It says never.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_01: I think that's a vital point to remember because it is true.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_01: Whoever comes to Jesus, whoever comes to God will never spiritually hunger or thirst again.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_01: Ever.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_01: And then verse thirty-seven.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_01: All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_01: So two more very powerful verses to help us understand just how important coming to Jesus truly is.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_01: Coming to Jesus, come anyway.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: Jesus, God, they are more powerful than Satan.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_01: Back in Genesis, somewhere in Genesis one or two, God created the angels, and one of those angels he created was Lucifer.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_01: Something happened, we don't know what, but something happened that caused Lucifer to rebel against God, and it's recorded in Isaiah fourteen, verses twelve to fourteen that five at least at least five times Satan says things within his heart, within his heart that cause him to rebel that cause him to be banished from heaven, and that is how Satan came to be, and so God is so much more powerful than Satan will ever be.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_01: No, come, come to me.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_01: Jesus says And verse thirty-seven, the end of it.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_01: That is Jesus, I will in all wise cast out.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_01: None.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_01: There's no no chance of being cast out by God.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_01: No matter who you are, no matter what you've done, you are still invited.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_01: Jesus is inviting you just like he did when he was teaching his disciples back when he was here on earth.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is another passage that's going to be for an episode.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_01: But so I trust you all are have the assumption now that we are inviting you to come to Jesus.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_01: Whether or not you're a Christian.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_01: Later is not promised.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, what are your takeaways from this?
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_00: Well, again, with um John, I mean, this is a good chapter because, like you said, there's a lot of teaching going on.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_00: Um, and it's crazy because we think about how many times the word is mentioned, like we said earlier, over a thousand times the word is mentioned to come, to come, to come.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_00: Um we talk about how simple it is, but it's not something to be taken lightly.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_00: So when we talk about the simplicity of it, I want to make sure that I clarify um where I'm coming from because I don't want people to think, oh, it's so simple, then that we that we do take it lightly and we trample on it.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_00: We don't want to do that.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_00: We want to be we want to be very serious.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_00: And as we go into our closing here, um I think we have maybe one more scripture, but as we go into closing, and I want you guys to think about this.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_00: You know, as as complicated as we like to make things, um, and how simple it really is, the truth is really simple, but here's the here's the bottom line.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_00: The invitation is necessary.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_00: Bethany and I are inviting you because we are both saved, but we cannot save you.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_00: Friends, we cannot save you.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_00: Loved ones, we cannot save you.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_00: Beloved, we cannot, we cannot save any of you.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_00: Would we like to?
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_00: We would love to reach out and save every single one of you if you're lost and going to hell.
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_00: We would love that.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's why we share the gospel, that's why we share the truth, that's why we get on here and and we we feel like um the urgency and the need and the desire to share God's truth with you because we we want to save you, but Bethany and Bethany and I cannot save you any more than we can save ourselves, actually.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_00: We can't even save ourselves without Jesus.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_00: Only Jesus can save us.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_00: Only Jesus.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_00: God says you cannot get to the Father without going through Jesus first.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_00: You have to be saved through Jesus Christ.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_00: And Jesus doesn't care.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_00: God does not care what your life looks like.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_00: He's not looking in the mirror you are.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_00: He's not looking at your past you are.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_00: You know, that God had it out for me.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_00: I I literally thought God had it out for me.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_00: And um why why would he allow me to have such a life such as I that I had?
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_00: In and out of foster homes, physically abused, sexually abused, verbally abused.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_00: I I went through a lot of abuse.
- 1:10:37SPEAKER_00: Um, a failed marriage, you know, um, and with an adulterous husband.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_00: And I and I thought, you know, and I and I tried to be really good, and but goodness doesn't get you into heaven.
- 1:10:50SPEAKER_00: And I used to think, well, man, God must really have it out for me.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_00: And then and then I realized, no, God chose me because he knew that I could handle it.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_00: He gave me the ability to get and the strength.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_00: Because if it wasn't for God, I wouldn't be here right now sharing God's word with you.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_00: He gave me the strength and he gave me a hope and a future.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_00: One that I didn't see before, but I see now.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_00: You know why I see it?
- 1:11:17SPEAKER_00: Because I have Jesus.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_00: Jesus will open your eyes to a whole new realm.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_00: And we need to make sure that, you know, we that doesn't mean the minute you get saved, you're gonna become a perfectionist.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be perfect.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_00: No one is gonna be perfect to the day we die because only Jesus can be that.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_00: He's already perfected everything that we could not perfect.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_00: But we try to get perfect, and I and I love that Jesus will meet you no matter where you're at and the mess that you're in right now.
- 1:11:48SPEAKER_00: But here's the thing when Jesus meets you where you're at, are you gonna stay there?
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_00: I have people, so many people say, Well, I'm just such a mess.
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_00: I'm such a mess.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and you're just sitting there.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_00: You're sitting in it.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_00: Might be time to go change your pants or your diaper, whatever it is you're sitting in.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_00: Go change your mess, right?
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_00: Like we don't, we don't do that.
- 1:12:08SPEAKER_00: That's not that's not normal to sit in the mess that you're in.
- 1:12:13SPEAKER_00: We need to go get cleaned up.
- 1:12:15SPEAKER_00: Jesus wants to do that.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_00: He'll meet us there.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_00: He doesn't want us to stay there.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_00: I know people that get saved and they're still staying there.
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_00: Those are the those are the lukewarm Christians.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_00: They're still staying there, sitting on the fence, him and Han, and and they're sitting there.
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_00: They can't they can't really pick aside.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_00: And that's a scary place for y'all to be.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_00: You don't want to be there.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_00: And if you're just lost and you just really haven't given Jesus even a chance or accepted the invitation, man, I really hope and pray that God gives you the desire to want to thirst him.
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_00: Like I really do.
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_00: Because the mess that you're in, trust me, it will get messier.
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_00: And even as Christians, we think, well, oh, now that I'm now that I'm a Christian, my mess is gonna go away.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_00: Not necessarily, because the enemy does not like it.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_00: The enemy is gonna come right back around.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_00: But now you have you have Jesus that's gonna give you the strength to get through it.
- 1:13:19SPEAKER_00: You don't have to face it alone.
- 1:13:22SPEAKER_00: You've been facing it alone the whole time if you've been lost.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_00: So I just encourage you with these scriptures today that you listen to them and you just really, like I said in the very beginning, I really want you to meditate on it and think about it.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_00: Because we think, oh, we have to do this, or oh, if I get saved, then I'm gonna have to be a different person.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_00: God's not trying to change who you are.
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_00: By the way, he already knows who you are.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_00: So good luck with trying that.
- 1:13:53SPEAKER_00: I mean, sometimes we get saved and we think, oh, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, if I get saved, I'll be, I'm gonna change.
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_00: God doesn't, he's not trying to change you.
- 1:14:00SPEAKER_00: He created you the way you are.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_00: The only thing that the only change that comes is knowing that we we live on that timeline, like Bethany says, but you know what?
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_00: When we get saved, our timeline gets extended into eternity.
- 1:14:16SPEAKER_00: We get the eternal timeline.
- 1:14:20SPEAKER_00: We don't get the perishing timeline.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_00: And that should bring a lot of hope to you.
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_00: Are we gonna have to go through it?
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're all gonna have to go through it.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_00: We all live, we all die.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_00: Our flesh, but our spiritual being does not.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_00: So think about it, okay?
- 1:14:37SPEAKER_00: So, um, Bethany, I know I think you have one more scripture, I think you want to go over or share?
- 1:14:43SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:14:45SPEAKER_01: And so um as we wrap up this episode, I want to um just leave you with how gracious God is, how merciful He is, how long suffering.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_01: And in Genesis chapter three, we have the experience, the reality of what Adam and Eve want and not getting off track um because there's so much.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_01: In this passage that you know we could dive into right now, but not going to.
- 1:16:02SPEAKER_01: Um we come to Genesis three, verses eight and nine specifically, and this is right after um Eve has eaten of the tree and given to Adam, and he has eaten of it too, which go back to Genesis two, read that chapter to find out why.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_01: Why was what Adam and Eve did sin?
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_01: Because if you don't understand that, you will perhaps question.
- 1:17:17SPEAKER_01: And so Genesis chapter three, verses eight and nine.
- 1:17:25SPEAKER_01: Verse eight, and they heard the voice of the Lord, God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_01: Verse nine and the Lord God called unto Adam and said unto him, Where art thou?
- 1:18:32SPEAKER_01: Adam and Eve, you've done wrong.
- 1:18:36SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna destroy you right now.
- 1:18:41SPEAKER_01: But he didn't.
- 1:18:44SPEAKER_01: God did not destroy them right then.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_01: God did not come to them with fire and you know how Satan would want us to think God came to Adam was a question.
- 1:19:21SPEAKER_01: Now, if you read Genesis two, you will probably begin to understand that before this time, before Genesis three, however long that period was in Genesis two walking in the garden constantly.
- 1:20:06SPEAKER_01: I do believe, I do believe that when he created Adam, he and Adam had a friendship connection.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_01: Adam was not afraid of God before Genesis three, but then we see in Genesis three, eight how that Adam and Eve hid themselves, and then we see in verse ten why he says that he hid himself because he was naked and afraid.
- 1:21:48SPEAKER_01: He wants us to have the closest relationship with each of us.
- 1:21:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, would if you're married or you're a parent, would you ever think of um not having that close relationship with your spouse or your children?
- 1:22:25SPEAKER_01: No, think of that on a higher level, and that's what Christians experience with God.
- 1:22:37SPEAKER_01: God's wanting that relationship with everyone again, even those who outwardly appear like they're rejecting God, and to even take time to consider that personally that has helped me to understand that just how deep God wants to have a relationship with each one of us.
- 1:23:23SPEAKER_01: He created us after all.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_01: And there is no joy when someone who is not a Christian dies.
- 1:23:52SPEAKER_01: And so as we wrap up this episode, I do pray that each one of you will take this consider it throughout the days and months and weeks ahead.
- 1:24:22SPEAKER_01: And if you forget about it, you can listen to it again.
- 1:24:28SPEAKER_01: You can watch it again.
- 1:24:39SPEAKER_01: God says come.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_01: Yes, there is an urgency now.
- 1:24:49SPEAKER_01: Behold now is the accepted time.
- 1:24:53SPEAKER_01: Behold now, now is the day of salvation.
- 1:25:01SPEAKER_01: You don't want to wait.
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_01: No, and so Mickey, do you want to wrap this up?
- 1:25:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:25:19SPEAKER_00: Um, I think it'd be important that um, I mean, with this important as this message is today, that um we definitely want to wrap up with with prayer, um, a prayer of invitation for anyone that is lost, and that if you if you're not sure, um even if you're a Christian, you're back sliding, or um you you don't have to pray over and over and over again and to ask God to forgive you.
- 1:25:45SPEAKER_00: And I mean to forgive you, yes, but to save you, I mean.
- 1:25:48SPEAKER_00: Um let me clarify that.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_00: Um, we do need to repent if we've sinned, but we don't have to pray for salvation every single time.
- 1:25:54SPEAKER_00: But if you're not sure that that that when you did pray, if if it if you really did mean it or not mean it in your heart, it it really comes down with even the enemy knows and believes in Jesus Christ.
- 1:26:06SPEAKER_00: We we know this.
- 1:26:08SPEAKER_00: He knows firsthand more than we know God.
- 1:26:12SPEAKER_00: Like he knows.
- 1:26:14SPEAKER_00: Um, he he was God's most precious angel.
- 1:26:18SPEAKER_00: So so the enemy knows and believes in God.
- 1:26:21SPEAKER_00: And he still chose to deny him.
- 1:26:24SPEAKER_00: So when we're praying that and and telling God, yes, we believe in you, it's not yes, you know, yes, I believe.
- 1:26:31SPEAKER_00: It's it's it's yes, I believe in you, and I want you, I accept you in my heart.
- 1:26:37SPEAKER_00: It's an acceptance.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_00: You're taking the gift, you're not just believing the gift is there.
- 1:26:43SPEAKER_00: And I think that we we skip that part of the salvation prayer when we talk about it because we think, oh, as long as I believe, well, I believe in fairy dust too, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna turn it into tinkerbell in a minute, you know.
- 1:26:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, what are we really believing in?
- 1:26:59SPEAKER_00: We need to be believing, and it's a wholehearted thing.
- 1:27:04SPEAKER_00: It's not just, oh, I'm just gonna, okay, I'll say the paradigm.
- 1:27:07SPEAKER_00: And some people think that there's gonna be a drastic, crazy change, and they'll say, Well, nothing happened.
- 1:27:13SPEAKER_00: I prayed the prayer, nothing happened.
- 1:27:16SPEAKER_00: Um, what happens is you get to go to you get to go to heaven, you're no longer bound for hell.
- 1:27:21SPEAKER_00: That's what happens.
- 1:27:22SPEAKER_00: Um, but you also need to remember that repentance is something that we need to work out.
- 1:27:27SPEAKER_00: Our salvation is something that we work out, we walk it out.
- 1:27:30SPEAKER_00: Okay, we walk it out.
- 1:27:32SPEAKER_00: When Jesus says, pick up your cross and follow me, he doesn't say, you know, not to do that.
- 1:27:40SPEAKER_00: You know, there's there's a means, there's a reason for that.
- 1:27:42SPEAKER_00: So when we accept Jesus as our savior, we need to make sure that we're laying everything else down and we're just following Jesus.
- 1:27:49SPEAKER_00: When Jesus went to Matthew, the tax collector, and mind you, Matthew was not a very good tax collector.
- 1:27:56SPEAKER_00: He wasn't honest, he was ripping people off.
- 1:27:59unknown: He wasn't
- 1:28:00SPEAKER_00: A very good guy at the time.
- 1:28:02SPEAKER_00: And he got up and walked away from all of it.
- 1:28:04SPEAKER_00: All of the money that he was making.
- 1:28:07SPEAKER_00: Of course, he wasn't making it, he wasn't making it legitimately.
- 1:28:10SPEAKER_00: He was making it dishonestly.
- 1:28:13SPEAKER_00: But he was still pocketing some pretty good money.
- 1:28:16SPEAKER_00: And he was doing some pretty good stuff.
- 1:28:18SPEAKER_00: And he walked away from all of it to follow after Jesus.
- 1:28:22SPEAKER_00: He just walked off, got up and walked away.
- 1:28:25SPEAKER_00: That's what we're supposed to do.
- 1:28:26SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to pick up our cross and follow Jesus when we get saved.
- 1:28:31SPEAKER_00: And God will work out our salvation with us.
- 1:28:33SPEAKER_00: He's going to convict us each differently.
- 1:28:36SPEAKER_00: He's going to convict us in his timing, not our timing.
- 1:28:40SPEAKER_00: He's going to convict us in the mess that we're in.
- 1:28:43SPEAKER_00: Like I said, if you're sitting in a mess and you meet Jesus today, Jesus doesn't want you to stay there.
- 1:28:50SPEAKER_00: He wants you to get cleaned up.
- 1:28:51SPEAKER_00: When your kid falls down in a mud puddle, you help them up, you dust them off, and then you get them on their way.
- 1:28:58SPEAKER_00: Jesus wants to do that.
- 1:28:59SPEAKER_00: He doesn't leave you in the dirt.
- 1:29:01SPEAKER_00: He wants to help you.
- 1:29:02SPEAKER_00: So keeping that in mind, I want you just as we pray today that you understand that it's not just, yeah, oh, I believe Jesus, it's it's an existence thing.
- 1:29:13SPEAKER_00: It's deeper than that.
- 1:29:14SPEAKER_00: There's more to it.
- 1:29:15SPEAKER_00: And I really wish when I was younger, someone would have taught me that because I I mean, I I already felt the calling of Jesus on my life when I was 10 years old.
- 1:29:24SPEAKER_00: I felt Jesus call me to the altar.
- 1:29:26SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, I just had to get Jesus like I needed Jesus like right now.
- 1:29:30SPEAKER_00: But that's not the same with everything, you know.
- 1:29:33SPEAKER_00: That's not the same with everyone.
- 1:29:34SPEAKER_00: Some people say, I don't feel anything, you know.
- 1:29:36SPEAKER_00: Um it's a heart posture.
- 1:29:39SPEAKER_00: Gotta get your heart posture right.
- 1:29:41SPEAKER_00: When we talk about the thirst, we're not talking about actual physical drinking water.
- 1:29:47SPEAKER_00: We're talking about spiritual water.
- 1:29:51SPEAKER_00: And it's a thirst you'll never have to worry about again once you accept it.
- 1:29:55SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 1:29:57SPEAKER_00: So let's go to God in prayer and then we'll we'll close out this episode.
- 1:30:01SPEAKER_00: So, Father God, Lord, I just thank you, Lord, for your word.
- 1:30:04SPEAKER_00: I thank you for Bethany for bringing the scripture today and and um just allowing us to just seek you out today as you have sought us out, Lord.
- 1:30:13SPEAKER_00: We just ask that you just continue to seek us out, Lord, and help us to long for the lost that that are going in um the wrong direction, Lord.
- 1:30:21SPEAKER_00: I don't want to say go into hell because hell's not here yet.
- 1:30:24SPEAKER_00: We're not we're not there yet.
- 1:30:26SPEAKER_00: They have time.
- 1:30:27SPEAKER_00: I I Lord, I just ask that you just give them a desire to thirst for you, to want and desire you, Lord, and want you know, your word and and what your word says.
- 1:30:39SPEAKER_00: Your word offers so much, Lord.
- 1:30:42SPEAKER_00: It's not just just you know, scribbles on a piece of paper, Lord.
- 1:30:46SPEAKER_00: There's so much power behind your word.
- 1:30:49SPEAKER_00: And Lord, just thank you for allowing us, Bethany and I, to come on here and share your word.
- 1:30:54SPEAKER_00: We just we humble ourselves and we we thank you because we want you to have all the glory.
- 1:30:58SPEAKER_00: It's not about us, Lord.
- 1:31:00SPEAKER_00: We know we can't save anyone, we can't even save ourselves, but we know that you can save us, Lord.
- 1:31:05SPEAKER_00: And and and I just want to pray that prayer today, Lord, for anyone that's lost, Lord.
- 1:31:09SPEAKER_00: And and if anyone's listening right now, Lord, I just I just hope that they just repeat what I say.
- 1:31:14SPEAKER_00: So, so Lord, I just ask right now to anyone lost or even Christians that are confused or or are not sure where they're at, Lord, that they just pray, and Lord, that they just say, Jesus, please come into my heart.
- 1:31:26SPEAKER_00: Please accept um me for who I am, and Lord, I accept you for who you are.
- 1:31:31SPEAKER_00: Please come into my heart and save me and take me to heaven when I die.
- 1:31:34SPEAKER_00: Please forgive me of my sins.
- 1:31:36SPEAKER_00: Help wipe this clean, Lord, and give me a fresh start, Lord.
- 1:31:40SPEAKER_00: And Lord, just just enter, Lord, just come and be bold.
- 1:31:44SPEAKER_00: Your word says that we are to be bold and that you will be bold.
- 1:31:48SPEAKER_00: And Lord, I I know sometimes people just they want a sign, they need a signal, and they need they need something.
- 1:31:54SPEAKER_00: Lord, I just hope that that you just allow something to happen in each person that that prays this prayer and accepts you into their heart today, Lord.
- 1:32:02SPEAKER_00: And I thank you for the scripture.
- 1:32:04SPEAKER_00: I think that you give us reminders daily when we fall short that all we have to do is come to you.
- 1:32:09SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 1:32:09SPEAKER_00: Just come.
