Transcript
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: For example, Jaguar's fans, welcome in to do Vault Daily, President by Jinjak.com.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Luga.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Wednesday, January 21st, and as we stated in the title, Jaguar's got some big coaching news going on.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a week in which you just kind of got to stay connected with all these different reports coming out.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Grant Yedinsky is going to have a second interview with the Cleveland Browns for their head coaching job.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: Jack was off in support of Grant Yedinsky on Friday, so it seems like he's one of the finalists for the job.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: The reports are that the the Browns have been blown away by Grant Yedinsky.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: And now he's also been requested according to Tom Pellisero by the Buffalo Bills for their head coaching job to interview there.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: So Grant Yedinsky getting a lot of, um, a lot of looks.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: and a lot of interest as a potential head coach.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Camponele is as well the Jaguar's defense of coordinator.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: He interviewed with the Dolphins ultimately the Dolphins ended up going with Jeff Hathley, who Anthony Camponele worked with or four in Green Bay.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Jeff Hathley was the defense of coordinator there and Anthony Camponele was a linebackers coach and run game coordinator defensively.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: need to have come in a Jacksonville last year both guys did under Liam Cohen, you know, you didn't skis the O.C., Campanile as the DC, but the news here beyond, you didn't ski getting the second interview, Anthony Campanile, also interviewing with the Ravens and we'll see if anything comes from that.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: The Jag wars according to Matt Zenits are expected to
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I do believe that is the correct pronunciation.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Matt Zenitz works for CBS Sports, national NFL slash national college football senior reporter for CBS Sports.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: So this is definitely a,
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: you know, a verified reporter, you know, it's legitimate.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: So the Jaguars are currently expected to hire Dolphins Cornerbacks coach, Matthew Arujo, sources tell CBS Sports, has worked with Miami the last four seasons and recently interviewed for the Jet's Defense of Coordinator Jump.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, this is significant because obviously the Jaguars they fired or moved on from
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: So you're replacing the secondary coach with Orujo.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Great.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: It makes me wonder though.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: It makes me ponder.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: This guy worked with Anthony Camponele in Miami for multiple seasons.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: Does that suggest anything?
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think they were there for two seasons together?
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they were there for two years together.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: Does that suggest
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: But the Jaguars are going to be able to keep Anthony Campanila.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: A couple things that could make you believe that.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, he's not going to Miami.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Jeff Affleys, the Miami Dolphin Tech Coach.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Ravens.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: There's been multiple reports of other coaching candidates getting second interviews with the Ravens this week.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: It has not been reported yet that Anthony Campanila is getting a second interview with the Ravens.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: So is it possible?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: that the Jaguars already know that Anthony Camponele is going to be their defensive coordinator next year.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: And if it was still in flux, you know, debatable, whatever it might be, would they go ahead and hire a secondary coach with a tie to Anthony Camponele if they didn't know that they were keeping him.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe, maybe, I'm not saying anything for certain.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think everything in this coaching world of, you know, all these different coaching jobs being available, everything's fluid.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: As we saw last year, with the Jacksonville Jaguars, thought that Trembalki was going to stay on as the general manager, thought the Jaguars were not going to be able to get Liam Cohen, everything flipped on its head very quickly.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: These things are fluid.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't want to put out there that the Jaguars are definitely keeping Anthony camp in Eli, but when I look at the different things that are happening, it kind of feels like that's probably the most likely outcome.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: With Matthew Erujo coming over from Miami, again, a coach that
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: has worked with Anthony Campanile for multiple seasons.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: And Arujo, he was, well, for one, he has been removed from the Dolphins website.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: But for one, he was the assistant defensive backscoach, the two years that
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: Campanile was there with him in Miami and then he became the cornerbacks coach in 2024 and 2025 Obviously again, it's going to be a new staff in Miami on the defensive side of the ball and often This is out of the ball all the coaches are moving on going elsewhere.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: You have Jeff Haffley coming in so
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: Arugeo obviously looking for work makes sense that you would come over to work with Anthony Campanela right I'm just putting two and two together here I'm not saying anything for certain, but if the Jaguar they're able to retain Anthony Campanela I think that just does a lot for their build in 2025 and potentially beyond you know If they have a season like they did this year
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: It may be it's like a little bit more consistent earlier on because it's not a brand new thing, a brand new system, a brand new coach, all that stuff.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: I could definitely see camp being one of the very, very top head coaching candidates entering the 20, 27 off season.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: And we know there's always turnover when it comes to these coaches, but if they could keep them around for at least one more year, I think that would be great.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I don't know why you would hire a Rujo.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: without the idea that Anthony Campanile is probably coming back.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: You could, certainly, but that just seems a little bit odd, if that's the case.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars, they have not replaced their assistant offensive line coach yet, that I'm aware of.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: He went on to coach the Stanford offensive line.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, as we record this, you got to just keep an eye on the pulse of things here on Twitter, obviously, I'm not seeing anything popping up, but it looks like the Jack Wars have their new secondary coach and he's a younger guy, right?
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: easily the most veteran coach on that defensive staff.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he had been in the NFL as a coach for over two decades.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: So this seems like a more of a fit guy who he's worked with before and then he can't manipulate that is.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: And a guy that seems to be a rising star, right?
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Assistant defensive backscoach, corner backscoach, had an interview again with the Jets according to Matt Zenits for defensive coordinator this year.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that's cool.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: If Anthony Kippeniela is staying on and he's bringing on somebody he's familiar with, I think that should be very exciting for Jacksonville Jaguar's fans.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see if that is officially the case in terms of Anthony Kippeniela's staying.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: don't know yet got to stay fluid can't sit here and say that just because two plus two equals four that aruzzo is definitely coming because Anthony Campanela is staying here but it feels like that that could be the case so I'm excited.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: To see how this unfolds, it does feel like Grant Yedinsky at the very least is one of the top candidates for the Browns.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: So the Jaguars could be looking to have to replace Grant Yedinsky after just one season and only 30 years old, unbelievable for him.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: If he ends up getting ahead coaching job, would I want to work in Cleveland?
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if that's the best starting gig, but a lot of folks, when you get that opportunity, you just take it because you don't know when that bite at the apple is going to come again.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: You would think with great Edinsky situation, he would definitely have an opportunity in the future to take to have another head coaching job opportunity and all likelihood with the situation he's in here.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: With Liam Cohen being such a good offensive coach and you didn't keep being such a bright young mind all that stuff, but you never know And then I guess he'll probably interview with the bills as well I guess the bills obviously kind of like what they saw there from the Jaguar's offense in the playoffs, so Man, gonna be wild to keep an eye on this and just keep a
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: Keep tabs on this and hopefully I just hope that it can kind of wrap up soon where the Jaguar is whether it's Yudinsky leaving, Campanella leaving, both leaving, whatever it may be, I just hope you can wrap it up soon.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I still think this does strongly indicate that Campini-Lay's probably staying, you know, the hiring of Matthew Arujo, but nothing definitive yet, so stay tuned.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
