- 0:00Speaker 1: My TM and I have carefully examined the WA's eligibility
- 0:04Speaker 1: criteria and governing framework surrounding self identification and inclusion. Based
- 0:09Speaker 1: on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring
- 0:12Speaker 1: my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in May twenty
- 0:15Speaker 1: twenty seven. I am definitely not here to mock, make
- 0:18Speaker 1: fun of, or to suspect any community or personal choices.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I am simply asking that the current rules be applied
- 0:24Speaker 1: equally to everything. Set Trend.
- 0:26Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Good Monday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:32Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got two very
- 0:36Speaker 3: big stories for you. First up, the President United States
- 0:39Speaker 3: America weighing in on the WNBA well now allowing apparently
- 0:44Speaker 3: any man who says there a woman to try out
- 0:47Speaker 3: and join the draft. What happens next, We've got the
- 0:50Speaker 3: story and it's incredible. Also, the left and some of
- 0:54Speaker 3: the Republicans of hate Donald Trump failed again trying to
- 0:58Speaker 3: get rid of his AG nomine. We have a new
- 1:01Speaker 3: AG Todd Blanche, and we explain exactly how the vote
- 1:05Speaker 3: got across the finish line over the weekend. It's the
- 1:08Speaker 3: forty seven Morning Update, and it starts right now.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 1:12Speaker 3: The WNBA is taking on Donald Trump and the Conservatives
- 1:19Speaker 3: and to the Supreme Court as well as men in
- 1:24Speaker 3: what could be one of the biggest backfires in professional
- 1:28Speaker 3: sports history. Now, the WNBA has come out with a
- 1:32Speaker 3: requirement for what it means to actually play in the WNBA.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Now they guess they've forgotten what the W stands for,
- 1:41Speaker 3: which is women, and they've decided to go all woke. Well,
- 1:47Speaker 3: former first round pick Royce White says he's declaring now
- 1:52Speaker 3: for the twenty twenty seven WNBA draft, claiming he now
- 1:56Speaker 3: identifies as transgendered for the purpose of playing professional basketball. Now,
- 2:01Speaker 3: this is a former six foot eight Houston Rockets draft pick,
- 2:05Speaker 3: and now he is following a former NBA player, and
- 2:10Speaker 3: that's Kendor Freedom. I love this guy and ask excuse
- 2:13Speaker 3: me Freedom, who announced his own plans to declare amid
- 2:17Speaker 3: the growing debate over to quote transgender athletes and women's
- 2:20Speaker 3: sports now White. Royce Wright told Fox News Digital he
- 2:25Speaker 3: believes he'd be unstoppable in the WNBA and suggested he
- 2:29Speaker 3: could pursue legal action if denied an opportunity to play.
- 2:33Speaker 3: White said the move is meant to challenge a w
- 2:35Speaker 3: NBA to clarify and to define its eligibility rules for
- 2:40Speaker 3: transgender and athletes, saying I'd like to know what the
- 2:43Speaker 3: parameters are in his announcement. This is what he said.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Oh, earlier this week, I made the announcement, I'm transgender.
- 2:53Speaker 4: I'm a woman. I'm identify as sometimes identifying as a
- 2:57Speaker 4: woman for purposes of basketball, proferresational basketball. So I'll be
- 3:01Speaker 4: declaring for the w NBA draft in twenty twenty seven
- 3:04Speaker 4: as well. I mean, I think I'd be unstoppable, you know.
- 3:08Speaker 4: But I'm I'm a team first guy. You know, I'm
- 3:11Speaker 4: a I'm a past first kind of player. I do
- 3:14Speaker 4: the little things, you know. I led my team in
- 3:16Speaker 4: all five major stack categories at at Iowa State University.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Uh So I do a little bit of every I'll
- 3:21Speaker 4: do whatever the coach needs me to do. I'll do
- 3:23Speaker 4: whatever the girls need me to do. I think the
- 3:26Speaker 4: w n B A could come out and make a
- 3:27Speaker 4: definitive statement about about guys with with a pair of
- 3:30Speaker 4: balls playing in the in the Women's Association. But you know, hey,
- 3:34Speaker 4: that that that be that'd be probably too much like right, so,
- 3:38Speaker 4: and I don't want to be discriminated against. Now I
- 3:41Speaker 4: want I want fair treatment. I'm a black, I'm a
- 3:45Speaker 4: young black hopefully United States senator. UH that that like
- 3:50Speaker 4: that would like a fair chance to participate as a
- 3:53Speaker 4: sometimes identifying as a transgender woman UH athlete.
- 3:58Speaker 3: That is statement from again Royce Wright, first round draft pick.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Now that's not the only one that is declared for
- 4:06Speaker 3: the draft. As I mentioned earlier, Anness Canner freedom set.
- 4:12Speaker 3: After carefully considering and reviewing the current eligibility guidelines, I'm
- 4:18Speaker 3: officially declaring myself a w NBA prospect. If simply declaring
- 4:22Speaker 3: who you are is all that's required, then I meet
- 4:25Speaker 3: every single requirement necessary to compete in the w NBA.
- 4:29Speaker 3: My team and I have carefully examined the eligibility criterion,
- 4:32Speaker 3: government governing framework surrounding self identification and inclusion, and based
- 4:37Speaker 3: on the current WNBA guidelines, I can and am officially
- 4:41Speaker 3: declaring my eligibility for the upcoming draft. Here he is
- 4:45Speaker 3: in his announcement video.
- 4:48Speaker 1: After careful concentration I review in the current eligibility guidelines,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I am officially declaring myself at WNBA prospect. If simply
- 4:55Speaker 1: declaring who you are is all that's required, then I
- 4:58Speaker 1: meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA.
- 5:02Speaker 1: My Tim and I have carefully examined the WNBA's eligibility
- 5:06Speaker 1: criteria and governing framework surrounding self identification and inclusion. Based
- 5:11Speaker 1: on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring
- 5:14Speaker 1: my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in May twenty
- 5:17Speaker 1: twenty seven. I am definitely not here to mock, make
- 5:20Speaker 1: fun of, or to suspect any community or personal choices.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I am simply asking that the current rules be applied
- 5:27Speaker 1: equally to everyone, the rules that represent the very values
- 5:30Speaker 1: many WNBA players and coaches have publicly advocated for. My team,
- 5:34Speaker 1: and I are prepared to ensure these guidelines are applied equally, consistently,
- 5:39Speaker 1: and without exception, and I look forward to the WNBA
- 5:42Speaker 1: honoring its stated principles. See your training.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Camp, see you at training camp. Okay, so let's go
- 5:50Speaker 3: over this real quick. You have two dudes who are
- 5:54Speaker 3: saying that they are going to act or they believe
- 5:57Speaker 3: that they are transgender. Now, this also comes as Donald
- 6:01Speaker 3: Trump said that if he coached the WNBA, he'd ask
- 6:05Speaker 3: Lebron if he had any desire to be a woman. Now,
- 6:08Speaker 3: this is why the WNBA is responding the way they are.
- 6:11Speaker 3: They're a woke league. Here's the president in his own words.
- 6:16Speaker 5: And I'll tell you what.
- 6:17Speaker 6: If I were ever, I'd be the greatest woman's basketball
- 6:21Speaker 6: coach a history. Because I don't like Lebron James. I
- 6:25Speaker 6: like Michael Jordan much better, but i'd but I'd go
- 6:30Speaker 6: up to Lebron James. It doesn't matter. Say Lebron, did
- 6:33Speaker 6: you ever have any desire to be a woman? Because
- 6:37Speaker 6: what I'd love you to do is star on my
- 6:39Speaker 6: team that I'm building up. I will have the greatest
- 6:41Speaker 6: team in history. They'll never lose. Nobody who will come
- 6:44Speaker 6: within seventy points of this team. Now, we have to
- 6:47Speaker 6: change that, and we have to make it okay to
- 6:50Speaker 6: talk about it. You know, the young lady I was
- 6:52Speaker 6: talking about is afraid to.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Talk about it.
- 6:54Speaker 6: She's shunned and she's canceled when she talks about it.
- 6:58Speaker 6: This is crazy.
- 6:59Speaker 3: This is crazy. Now, this is the reason why the
- 7:03Speaker 3: WNBA has decided to do what I describe as the
- 7:08Speaker 3: most ridiculous policy that I have heard. Now. Center Ted
- 7:15Speaker 3: Cruz was asked by TMZ about this move, telling TNZ
- 7:21Speaker 3: that again, this is insane and this is what happens
- 7:25Speaker 3: when you don't protect women's sports.
- 7:28Speaker 7: Can I ask you a question?
- 7:28Speaker 1: Please? Ted?
- 7:29Speaker 4: How a man?
- 7:30Speaker 7: It's good to see you. Well, hey, have you been
- 7:32Speaker 7: following the w n B A and this transgender debate?
- 7:36Speaker 7: That's it's all they're talking about there.
- 7:39Speaker 5: I saw Clay travisaw for ten million dollars. I watched
- 7:44Speaker 5: that again.
- 7:45Speaker 7: Could I just ask Meghan Kelly said that Kaylen Clark
- 7:49Speaker 7: is a coward for not taking a side in either
- 7:53Speaker 7: this or that that. What do you feel about that?
- 7:55Speaker 8: Oh?
- 7:55Speaker 5: Look, Kayln Clark is a hell of a ballplayer in
- 7:58Speaker 5: fun to watch.
- 7:59Speaker 7: Do you think she should.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Take a side?
- 8:01Speaker 5: At the end of the day, I don't think athletes
- 8:03Speaker 5: are required an expressive opinion on every topic. I think
- 8:07Speaker 5: it is clearly unfair to allow boys to compete against
- 8:13Speaker 5: girls and to allow men to compete against women. Boys
- 8:16Speaker 5: and girls are different, and mankind has known that literally
- 8:20Speaker 5: since the dawna time.
- 8:22Speaker 7: Is it a big issue though at w NBA level, like,
- 8:25Speaker 7: I don't see many.
- 8:26Speaker 5: I'm curious.
- 8:27Speaker 7: Tell me what does the w stand for women?
- 8:30Speaker 5: It seems that there's some coaches in the WNBA who
- 8:34Speaker 5: can't figure that out?
- 8:35Speaker 7: But should they also be like sympathetic and empathetic for
- 8:39Speaker 7: young little girls who like are feeling an identity crisis,
- 8:43Speaker 7: They want to play a sports, they want to be
- 8:45Speaker 7: with their friends.
- 8:46Speaker 5: If they're boys, they're not young little girls. And the
- 8:48Speaker 5: fact that your ideology, you think it would be fair
- 8:52Speaker 5: to let Lebron James play in the WNBA.
- 8:54Speaker 7: No, but that's not what we're talking about. We're talking
- 8:55Speaker 7: about young people.
- 8:57Speaker 5: What you're talking about old people too. You're not just
- 8:59Speaker 5: saying five year olds. Well, I think that like w
- 9:02Speaker 5: NBA doesn't have five year olds.
- 9:03Speaker 7: At a professional level, yeah, I mean obviously, but at
- 9:06Speaker 7: a minor level when these kids are just trying to
- 9:08Speaker 7: be happy and be kids, not letting them socialize with
- 9:11Speaker 7: their friends just because they're those.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Different guys, they can be happy. To be honest, though,
- 9:16Speaker 5: a lot of the transgender is and it is coming
- 9:18Speaker 5: from leftist adults who are convincing their kids of this nonsense,
- 9:22Speaker 5: and it's it is really sad to see the ideology
- 9:26Speaker 5: of parents. Listen, I think God knows what he's doing
- 9:30Speaker 5: when he makes a little boy. I think God knows
- 9:31Speaker 5: what he's doing when he makes a little girl. And
- 9:34Speaker 5: I think the phenomenon of woke leftist adults. You know,
- 9:39Speaker 5: I read a tweet once from Cynthia next to the
- 9:42Speaker 5: actress who said her child is trans, her sister's child
- 9:45Speaker 5: is trans, all of her friend's child children are trans.
- 9:47Speaker 5: You know what that is. That's adults putting their politics
- 9:51Speaker 5: and their ideology on their kids, and.
- 9:53Speaker 7: I or maybe thinking their kids be who they really are.
- 9:56Speaker 7: Maybe you don't know, We don't know.
- 9:59Speaker 5: You know what, if you don't what a boy is
- 10:00Speaker 5: and you don't know what a girl is, there's a reason.
- 10:02Speaker 7: You work at TMC oh all right, dented, I appreciate you, man,
- 10:05Speaker 7: thank you.
- 10:07Speaker 3: This is how radical the left has become, and the
- 10:10Speaker 3: WNBA is about to find out what happens when you
- 10:13Speaker 3: make stupid rules.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Now, story number two, there was some.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Good news that happened this week, and it was obviously
- 10:21Speaker 3: downplayed by the mainstream media. It was a story that
- 10:24Speaker 3: was supposed to be surrounded in controversy. It was a
- 10:27Speaker 3: story that was sold as it could be a quote
- 10:30Speaker 3: disaster for Donald Trump. The story was actually a really
- 10:34Speaker 3: simple story. There was a man who was going to
- 10:38Speaker 3: be confirmed as the Attorney general, of the United States
- 10:43Speaker 3: of America, a man by the name of Todd Blanche.
- 10:46Speaker 3: The attacks came in, and the attacks were that Todd Blanche,
- 10:50Speaker 3: a guy that had literally decades of service in the
- 10:52Speaker 3: Department of Justice, was somehow just some random dude that
- 10:56Speaker 3: was an attorney for the president of Knights say It's
- 11:00Speaker 3: of America. And that is how the media started pushing
- 11:03Speaker 3: the story that he was unqualified, even though he'd spent
- 11:06Speaker 3: well over a decade at the Department of Justice and
- 11:10Speaker 3: it served and the New York system as well in
- 11:13Speaker 3: the DOJ where he saw a lot of serious and
- 11:18Speaker 3: important cases and prosecutions that happened, yes, at the hands
- 11:24Speaker 3: of the government. Now that is what you would refer
- 11:27Speaker 3: to if you're a same person as significant experience. You
- 11:31Speaker 3: would refer that as really important experience. You would refer
- 11:36Speaker 3: to it as experience. It would make you more than qualified,
- 11:40Speaker 3: let me say that again, more than qualified to be
- 11:43Speaker 3: the Attorney General. By the way, he's also been the
- 11:46Speaker 3: acting Attorney General, which gave him even more of a
- 11:50Speaker 3: resume booster than many others have had before when they
- 11:55Speaker 3: received the position of being confirmed as the Attorney General.
- 11:59Speaker 3: But you saw the left do their job. You saw
- 12:03Speaker 3: the media start to say that this guy's nothing more
- 12:06Speaker 3: than a presidential yes man because he was the president's
- 12:11Speaker 3: attorney and that he was unqualified for the job, even
- 12:16Speaker 3: though they admitted purposely his background in working at the DOJ. Now,
- 12:22Speaker 3: I say all of that to go to the new headline,
- 12:25Speaker 3: which is now not being covered at all. Todd Blanche
- 12:29Speaker 3: has been confirmed as the US Attorney General, despite opposition
- 12:33Speaker 3: from even some Republicans that were trying to stick it
- 12:36Speaker 3: to Donald Trump. The acting Attorney general is now the
- 12:40Speaker 3: attorney General. He was confirmed Saturday to lead the US
- 12:42Speaker 3: Department of Justice, the news coming after Republican lawmakers struggled
- 12:47Speaker 3: to make a decision. Then Senator Bill Cassidy, someone that
- 12:52Speaker 3: the President did not back in his reelection and lost
- 12:55Speaker 3: his reelection bid in Louisiana, announced that the last minute
- 12:58Speaker 3: on Friday that he would port Blanche's confirmation Now. During
- 13:03Speaker 3: his announcement, Cassie said the process was about Blanche, the
- 13:07Speaker 3: difficulty of his job, and how the American people can
- 13:09Speaker 3: be best served. He put it this way on the
- 13:13Speaker 3: floor of the Senate.
- 13:14Speaker 8: Center from Louisiana, it's the president. I rise a day
- 13:16Speaker 8: to speak to the nomination of Todd Blanche to be
- 13:18Speaker 8: Attorney General. Over the last several days, I've heard from
- 13:22Speaker 8: lots of people sharing their views on this nomination, and
- 13:26Speaker 8: most of the time it's clear mister Blanche has become
- 13:29Speaker 8: a referendum on how people feel about President Trump. If
- 13:33Speaker 8: you don't like the President, you don't like mister Blanche.
- 13:36Speaker 8: If you do like the President, you do. I have
- 13:38Speaker 8: not approached it that way. This process should be about
- 13:41Speaker 8: mister Blanche and how he will go forward in a
- 13:43Speaker 8: difficult job, and how the American people can be best served.
- 13:47Speaker 8: I have a history with mister Trump, but that history
- 13:50Speaker 8: does not matter one bit. On the one hand, mister
- 13:53Speaker 8: Blanche does not need to be Senate confirmed. He can
- 13:56Speaker 8: continue to serve as the pleasure of the President as
- 13:58Speaker 8: Deputy Attorney General or even acting Attorney General at this
- 14:02Speaker 8: voter's pull. On the other hand, I am told that
- 14:05Speaker 8: Senate confirmation is important and interactions with the President, with
- 14:09Speaker 8: others in the cabinet, and as important to doj employees
- 14:13Speaker 8: in general. Being Senate confirmed gives him greater leverage to
- 14:16Speaker 8: push for things that should be pushed for. This does
- 14:19Speaker 8: not demean the Senate's role important issues have been discussed
- 14:23Speaker 8: through this process, and mister Blanche has made commitments now
- 14:27Speaker 8: on to the specific nomination. Since mister Blanche passed out
- 14:30Speaker 8: of Judiciary Committee on August the fourth, I've spoken to
- 14:33Speaker 8: mister Blanch five or six times. We have texted many more.
- 14:36Speaker 8: I just got off the phone with him. I've spoken
- 14:39Speaker 8: multiple times the Senators Murkowski, Cornyn Tillis. Senator Whitehouse shared
- 14:43Speaker 8: his concerns a dinner and past administration officials, including a
- 14:47Speaker 8: long conversation with former Attorney General Bill Barr. Late last night,
- 14:52Speaker 8: I spoke to two US attorneys from Louisiana, David Crossell
- 14:56Speaker 8: and Kurt Wall. Of course, there has been a lot
- 14:58Speaker 8: to read and a lot to consider, and I slept
- 15:01Speaker 8: on it overnight. Let's start with the concerns. Mister Blant
- 15:04Speaker 8: showed poor judgment and approving the Anti Weaponization's slush fund
- 15:08Speaker 8: and exempting the President from IRS audits. No Americans should
- 15:11Speaker 8: be unfairly targeted by the law, but no American should
- 15:15Speaker 8: be above the law. Mister Blant said these were mistakes,
- 15:18Speaker 8: and he has made efforts to kill the slush fund.
- 15:20Speaker 8: I am particularly concerned about episodes of apparent lawfare DOJ
- 15:24Speaker 8: bringing suits against political enemies both parties. Presidents of both
- 15:30Speaker 8: parties have been guilty of this. It must stop. It
- 15:33Speaker 8: should stop now. A never ending cycle, but prosecuting political
- 15:38Speaker 8: enemies undermines the rule of law, to graze the public's
- 15:41Speaker 8: trust in our institutions and makes our politics more extreme
- 15:45Speaker 8: when we need to unite to solve the big problems
- 15:47Speaker 8: of our time. I'm not entirely satisfied where this is,
- 15:52Speaker 8: and I have no doubts that I'll have concern in
- 15:54Speaker 8: the future. I will note that I've learned that some
- 15:57Speaker 8: of the cases that have been publicly reported to be
- 15:59Speaker 8: under investigation by the Department of Justice have been dismissed
- 16:02Speaker 8: or no longer being pursued.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Now let me just stop there. You notice where this
- 16:07Speaker 3: is heading. Bill Cassie is airing the dirty laundry of
- 16:11Speaker 3: why he hates Donald Trump while also telling you he
- 16:14Speaker 3: supports Todd Blanche for the US Attorney General. Now Cassie's
- 16:18Speaker 3: support places Blanche in a position to be confirmed, and
- 16:23Speaker 3: in a social media post early Saturday, Blanch wrote, I'm
- 16:26Speaker 3: deeply honored by the trust and confidence President Trump has
- 16:29Speaker 3: placed to me to lead the Department of Justice as
- 16:32Speaker 3: our great nations. Eighty eighth Attorney General. I'm grateful to
- 16:35Speaker 3: the Senate for staying late to complete this process. To
- 16:40Speaker 3: the dedicated public servants of the Department of Justice, thank
- 16:42Speaker 3: you for your work. Each stayed uphold the law and
- 16:44Speaker 3: keep our country safe. God bless America, he concluded. Now,
- 16:48Speaker 3: there is also some other things that were interesting. What
- 16:52Speaker 3: backfired on the left in the media is the fact
- 16:56Speaker 3: that they tried to lie to the American people saying
- 16:58Speaker 3: that Blanche was only Trump's four personal lawyer. That was
- 17:02Speaker 3: the big lie. This is a guy that had served
- 17:04Speaker 3: his country in the Department of Justice for well over
- 17:08Speaker 3: a decade. This is a man that understood how this works.
- 17:13Speaker 3: He is an individual that then went to the private
- 17:15Speaker 3: sector and had top clients that were high profile. Obviously
- 17:18Speaker 3: a former president would be one of those. Does that
- 17:21Speaker 3: mean that he's unqualified to be the age? The answer
- 17:25Speaker 3: is obviously no. And the Democrats knew it and sowed
- 17:29Speaker 3: the Republicans, even the Republicans that hate Donald Trump. Now,
- 17:33Speaker 3: one of the things you heard there from Cassie said,
- 17:35Speaker 3: I have had my issues with Donald Trump, but that
- 17:37Speaker 3: has nothing to do with this. Clearly it did. This
- 17:40Speaker 3: would have gotten done a lot faster if there wasn't
- 17:43Speaker 3: some of you that were petty. Now, I will say
- 17:44Speaker 3: I do believe Cassie here did the right thing, and
- 17:48Speaker 3: I think we should all say thank you for doing
- 17:50Speaker 3: the right thing, not holding up the president's nominee, who,
- 17:55Speaker 3: by the way, the president has the support of the
- 17:58Speaker 3: American people and the will of the people decided that
- 18:02Speaker 3: he should be the president. Therefore, he should get his
- 18:04Speaker 3: attorney general that he wants as long as they're qualified. Clearly,
- 18:09Speaker 3: Todd Blanche is overqualified for the job, and that is
- 18:13Speaker 3: ultimately what this comes down to. The President got the
- 18:17Speaker 3: man he wanted. The President got the man that is
- 18:20Speaker 3: pushing the America First agenda. The President got a man
- 18:24Speaker 3: that is going after waste, fraud, and abuse. And the
- 18:27Speaker 3: only reason why any of the Republicans were against him
- 18:30Speaker 3: is because those that were against them are those that
- 18:32Speaker 3: hate Donald Trump, because Donald Trump didn't endorse them in
- 18:35Speaker 3: their primaries and many of them lost. Now that is
- 18:38Speaker 3: what petty politics truly sounds like, and that's exactly what
- 18:42Speaker 3: happened here. So congratulations to the President, Congratulations to Blanche.
- 18:49Speaker 3: I think he's going to do a phenomenal job because
- 18:51Speaker 3: He's going after those that are that are dealing with waste,
