  Speaker 1: mentioned before that my struggle has been in finances. I

  Speaker 1: financially struggled with our ministry. I had a partner. My

  Speaker 1: partner when we have the club, the physical building stole

  Speaker 1: some money from me and it's been a fight and

  Speaker 1: uphill battle. We've had to close down the club in

  Speaker 1: twenty eighteen. But since then now we are a nonprofit organization.

  Speaker 1: We got our business house in order, so we're looking

  Speaker 1: at ways to raise funding to We're applying for grants,

  Speaker 1: looking for ways to get donations. Every day. Donation is

  Speaker 1: just traumatized. The sea started rowing and the storm hit

  Speaker 1: and they had to overthrow. They lost cargo, there was
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: a lot of loss of material things. It's too expensive
• 9:54
  Speaker 1: to run from God's call. It's way too expensive. And

  Speaker 1: finally they woke him up because Jonah fell asleep. Jonah

  Speaker 1: had a death wish. He's like, I don't care if
• 10:06
  Speaker 1: this bow sinks. I'm not going in nine of them.

  Speaker 1: And then finally when they gave him the third degree,

  Speaker 1: like who are you? Who are your people? Like what

  Speaker 1: are you doing? How come you're not calling out to yo? God?

  Speaker 1: they're okay, that they're gonna make it to heaven, but

  Speaker 1: according to the Word of God, they're not. And I'm

  Speaker 1: not here to be judgmental. I'm not here sharing my

  Speaker 1: own opinion. I can show you chapter in verse of
• 11:08
  Speaker 1: everything that I say, and if it is my opinion,

  Speaker 1: leave it. This is my opinion on this, But when

  Speaker 1: it comes to the Word of God, there is no

  Speaker 1: wiggle room because my heart is to save as many

  Speaker 1: souls as possible. Just because you go to church doesn't

  Speaker 1: mean you're going to heaven. There's a lot of people
• 11:30
  Speaker 1: who go to church and they're on their way to hell.

  Speaker 1: There's no such thing as a good person. If you

  Speaker 1: think you're good enough to go to heaven, then compare
• 11:44
  Speaker 1: yourself to Christ, because he's the one who paid the

  Speaker 1: price for your sin. He's the one who went to

  Speaker 1: the cross. You think God is gonna be happy if
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: you take that lightly, if you just ignore what his

  Speaker 1: Like how far does God have to go to get

  Speaker 1: we went over on our last episode, he's quoting from

  Speaker 1: the Book of Psalms. He's turning towards the temple, and

  Speaker 1: he remembers that God is merciful. He felt like he
• 15:14
  Speaker 1: was in Hell. He was in the belly of this fish.

  Speaker 1: He said. There was seaweed wrapped around his head. It
• 15:20
  Speaker 1: had to be hot and darken there, right, some of
• 15:29
  Speaker 1: the description of hell. Hell is a dark place. There's
• 15:34
  Speaker 1: some near death experiences that I watch on YouTube, and
• 15:41
  Speaker 1: the people that go to Hell, they all say the
• 15:43
  Speaker 1: same thing. The darkness is darker than anything we've experienced
• 15:48
  Speaker 1: on this earth. It's alive. You can't even see your
• 15:51
  Speaker 1: hand in front of you, that's how dark it is.
• 15:54
  Speaker 1: And people love darkness rather than the light. And God says, okay,
• 15:59
  Speaker 1: well and have it. If you don't want God, then
• 16:03
  Speaker 1: you don't want his goodness either. The Bible says we
• 16:07
  Speaker 1: live and move and have our being in Him. Just
• 16:10
  Speaker 1: the fact that you can walk and talk is because
• 16:14
  Speaker 1: of God. People in Hell have to work really hard
• 16:19
  Speaker 1: just to move around, just to make one step, because
• 16:24
  Speaker 1: the movement comes from God. Like we got to acknowledge
• 16:28
  Speaker 1: how good God is. And if you don't want God
• 16:32
  Speaker 1: in your life, and God is not going to force you, right,

  Speaker 1: but He's going to do everything he can to stop
• 16:40
  Speaker 1: you from going to hell, and maybe just you the

  Speaker 1: fact that you're listening to this podcast right now, God,

  Speaker 1: And one of the reasons is because the Assyrians nn

  Speaker 1: of these people were so wicked and brutal and cruel like.

  Speaker 1: These people did some horrendous evil acts and Jonah went
• 17:53
  Speaker 1: and got to judge them. But this shows us how
• 17:56
  Speaker 1: merciful no matter how bad you may be mistakes you
• 18:00
  Speaker 1: have made, God is a merciful God. He's a forgiving God.
• 18:05
  Speaker 1: That's the whole point of the gospel. God's heart is
• 18:09
  Speaker 1: not to judge. His goodness brings us to repentance. So
• 18:16
  Speaker 1: finally he is in the belly of this fish, and
• 18:20
  Speaker 1: then finally he cries out to the Lord, and the
• 18:24
  Speaker 1: Lord instructs his fish to vomit him up. Man that
• 18:29
  Speaker 1: must have been in sight to see it. This man
• 18:31
  Speaker 1: was in this fish, seaweed wrapped around his head, and
• 18:36
  Speaker 1: all of a sudden he comes out of nowhere and
• 18:38
  Speaker 1: starts walking through the old city. That would have got
• 18:42
  Speaker 1: my attention right away. Just you're like, what in the world,
• 18:46
  Speaker 1: I wonder why they repented? All right, well that's a
• 18:51
  Speaker 1: little bit of the background. Let's get into the book.
• 18:55
  Speaker 1: So Jonah, chapter one, we're gonna go with verse one.

  Speaker 1: In verse two, as I said, he's vomited up. He's
• 19:05
  Speaker 1: back on dry land, and the word of the Lord
• 19:09
  Speaker 1: comes to him a second time, saying, arise, go to Nineveh,
• 19:14
  Speaker 1: that great sitting and preach it unto the message that
• 19:19
  Speaker 1: I tell you. Amen, it's important that we preach the
• 19:25
  Speaker 1: message that God tells us to preach. Now, God is
• 19:34
  Speaker 1: a god of second chances. Thank you Lord, hallelujah. This

  Speaker 1: may be your second chance today. Even after John Iran,

  Speaker 1: he was disobedient and swallowed up by this fish, The

  Speaker 1: the amazing grace of God. That is grace and action
• 20:46
  Speaker 1: right there. Hallelujah. All right, Let's take verse three and

  Speaker 1: verse four love the Word of God, and it says,

  Speaker 1: so Jonah arose and went to Nineva. Look he was
• 21:08
  Speaker 1: not fighting no more. Right like, he just went to Nineva.
• 21:12
  Speaker 1: I don't blame him. I would have did the same thing.
• 21:16
  Speaker 1: Now he arose and went to Ninevah according to the
• 21:18
  Speaker 1: word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city,
• 21:25
  Speaker 1: a three days journey in context. Now, this was a
• 21:35
  Speaker 1: huge city, probably the biggest city in that day, and
• 21:45
  Speaker 1: Jonah had a message. His message was short, but it
• 21:50
  Speaker 1: was powerful, and it says here in verse four, and
• 21:58
  Speaker 1: Jonah began to enter the city on the first day's walk.

  Speaker 1: Then he cried out and said, get yet, forty days
• 22:11
  Speaker 1: and n of us shall be overthrown. Imagine that forty
• 22:17
  Speaker 1: days that you will be destroyed. This was a prophetic
• 22:25
  Speaker 1: word for the nation. How many prophetic words are going
• 22:31
  Speaker 1: out today concerning the United States of America. A lot
• 22:36
  Speaker 1: of people are prophesying something to happen in the month
• 22:41
  Speaker 1: of September. Towards the end of the month, one hundred
• 22:46
  Speaker 1: rabbis are supposed to gather in the nation of Israel
• 22:50
  Speaker 1: and blow the shafar on national TV. Now this is
• 22:57
  Speaker 1: pretty significant because this has never happened before in the
• 23:02
  Speaker 1: nation of Israel. Normally this is an intimate religious activity,
• 23:08
  Speaker 1: but their openness up for the world to see. And
• 23:12
  Speaker 1: a lot of people are trying to predict that Christ
• 23:15
  Speaker 1: is going to return this month. To me, personally, I
• 23:20
  Speaker 1: know the word a God says that no one knows
• 23:22
  Speaker 1: the day or hour, but we can know the seasons.

  Speaker 1: We know that this is We're wrapping this up like
• 23:32
  Speaker 1: we are living in the end times. This is the

  Speaker 1: fourth quarter, and the Word instructs us to be ready
• 23:43
  Speaker 1: in season and out of season. So whether he comes

  Speaker 1: back September twenty fourth or right now, five seconds from now,

  Speaker 1: I want to be ready. I want to be ready,

  Speaker 1: and I hope you are ready. That's the purpose of

  Speaker 1: that judgment is coming. It's appointing. Unto it's appointed and

  Speaker 1: the man wants to die. And then after that the judgment,

  Speaker 1: you have to answer for your life. This is not

  Speaker 1: a oh, we get to do whatever we want and

  Speaker 1: there's no consequences. God wants us to live a life

  Speaker 1: of righteousness. He wants us to know Him and to

  Speaker 1: love him and to love our fellow man. And we're

  Speaker 1: going to be judged by how we treated Jesus, what

  Speaker 1: words we speak will be judged. We can be prepared.

  Speaker 1: put on sackcloth. They afflicted themselves. These clothes were like

  Speaker 1: uncomfortable to wear. And it says in some scripture sackcloth

  Speaker 1: and ashes. People will put ashes up on their heads

  Speaker 1: right from the greatest to the least of them. Now

  Speaker 1: this message impacted the whole nation. This is my heart

  Speaker 1: for the United States of America, for the whole world,

  Speaker 1: but for the United States to come back to Jesus. Amen.

  Speaker 1: An entire pig and city humbled themselves, from the king

  Speaker 1: attention get her. But even though Jonah showed no compassion,

  Speaker 1: could repent and turn to God. Like he just said,

  Speaker 1: You're gonna be judged in forty days. They thought he

  Speaker 1: was some kook or some crazy dude. But they believe

  Speaker 1: a message, and they recognized it, and then they immediately
• 31:32
  Speaker 1: responded to it. That's what God wants us to do.

  Speaker 1: He wants us to immediately respond to his word. That's

  Speaker 1: the only proper response. All right, let's take it from

  Speaker 1: verse six. He says, then word came to the king

  Speaker 1: of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne and laid

  Speaker 1: aside his role. Now this is significant. I'm gonna jump

  Speaker 1: decree of a king, and said nobles and his nobles, saying,

  Speaker 1: that is in his hands. The king is telling you

  Speaker 1: to turn from the violence. Now, it'd be amazing to

  Speaker 1: but imagine if you're president of the United States said this, like,

  Speaker 1: this whole nation is about the fast every man turned

  Speaker 1: from your wicked way. Of course, we know there's just

  Speaker 1: recently there's been violence in this nation. A great man
• 33:31
  Speaker 1: of God was assassinated a couple of days ago. Would
• 33:35
  Speaker 1: it be amazing if this whole nation would listen to that.

  Speaker 1: Just think the word of God is that powerful to
• 33:42
  Speaker 1: stop violence in our nation. That is the only answer.

  Speaker 1: That is the only answer. If you want to secure

  Speaker 1: our schools, if you want to secure our college campuses,

  Speaker 1: if you want to secure the workplace, this is the

  Speaker 1: answer right here. Put on sackcloth, ashes fast, called to

  Speaker 1: the God Almighty, and put violence away out of your

  Speaker 1: own hands verse nine. Who can tell if God will

  Speaker 1: turn and relent and turn away from his fierce anger
• 34:28
  Speaker 1: so that we may not perish. Now this is a

  Speaker 1: pagan king. He knew nothing about the true God of
• 34:41
  Speaker 1: heaven and earth. They probably had their own deity back then.

  Speaker 1: They worshiped idols. They had their own deities right in
• 34:49
  Speaker 1: their own gods that they would follow That's what the
• 34:52
  Speaker 1: whole you know, Old Testament is about, is conquering these

  Speaker 1: nations that served other gods. But here the Word of

  Speaker 1: God came and impacted them so hard that they humbled themselves,

  Speaker 1: and they heard the judgment is coming, and they heard

  Speaker 1: about the fierce anger of the Lord. How are we

  Speaker 1: giving people a chance if we leave that out of

  Speaker 1: our message, if we don't warn people that there's a

  Speaker 1: hell to avoid that, according to the Bible, the Word

  Speaker 1: of God, it's fire, brimstone for all eternity, torment, demons

  Speaker 1: ripping your flesh, demons breaking your arms and bones, demons

  Speaker 1: tormenting you, demons who hate us because we were created

  Speaker 1: in the image of God. We don't warn people, and

  Speaker 1: we don't tell them, how are they going to have

  Speaker 1: the opportunity like this king and say, you know what,

  Speaker 1: maybe he can We can avoid this wrath, we can

  Speaker 1: avoid this place of judgment and what to say so

  Speaker 1: that we may not perish. Now that's the true gospel,

  Speaker 1: he man, when people truly turn, when people truly understand,

  Speaker 1: their spiritual eyes are open and that God is about

  Speaker 1: to judge the entire world. But maybe, just maybe, if

  Speaker 1: we put violence out of our hands. Maybe he will

  Speaker 1: turn and we can save us. And not only us,

  Speaker 1: but our family members are loved ones. If you love them,

  Speaker 1: you would serve God. If you love your children, you

  Speaker 1: would be serious about That's the greatest gift you can
• 37:03
  Speaker 1: give them is to see God working in your life.

  Speaker 1: Hey man, now just break it down. Now, This right

  Speaker 1: here is true repentance, turning from violence and sin. Repentance

  Speaker 1: isn't just saying I'm sorry, it's changing directions. I've met

  Speaker 1: people who say that they have a relationship with God,

  Speaker 1: but yet they still cuss, they still have foul miles,
• 37:37
  Speaker 1: they still lie, they still live their own life. They
• 37:40
  Speaker 1: have naturally repented. They don't even understand it. They don't
• 37:45
  Speaker 1: even know that this is a holy God that we
• 37:48
  Speaker 1: have to go before. Right, A God that is angry,
• 37:54
  Speaker 1: that gets angry God hasten. He's never gonna turn his
• 37:59
  Speaker 1: eye wink at it. Just look at Jesus, look at
• 38:03
  Speaker 1: what he had to go through on the cross. That
• 38:05
  Speaker 1: is God's attitude about sin. And if we love God,
• 38:09
  Speaker 1: we wouldn't continue in it. If we truly love God,

  Speaker 1: we would not live a life of compromise. Now, notice

  Speaker 1: the king stepped off his throne. Now there's a title
• 38:23
  Speaker 1: in the Book of Revelation that speaks of Jesus, and

  Speaker 1: this title is called the King of Kings in the
• 38:32
  Speaker 1: Lord of Lords. And we see this in action now
• 38:35
  Speaker 1: when other kings bow down to Jesus. Now, notice he
• 38:43
  Speaker 1: stepped off his throne. Real repentance is stepping down from
• 38:49
  Speaker 1: self and bowing before God. That is true repentance. That's
• 38:56
  Speaker 1: a heart that God is looking for. He's looking for
• 39:02
  Speaker 1: you to take yourself off the throne so that He

  Speaker 1: can truly sit at the throne of your heart. And

  Speaker 1: that's the only way that we can experience life in

  Speaker 1: life more abundantly. We were created to have fellowship with God.

  Speaker 1: We were created to love God. We are his children

  Speaker 1: that he's lost. He's trying to get us back. And

  Speaker 1: you're free to do so. Let you do it at

  Speaker 1: him about spiritual matters, right, And he's telling me how

  Speaker 1: you know, he just goes to service online. You know.

  Speaker 1: services were moved to online rather than in person. Right.

  Speaker 1: We can understand it that people are trying to you know,

  Speaker 1: avoid this virus and different things. But since then that's

  Speaker 1: been lifted and we're able to gather again and coming

  Speaker 1: to God's presence corporately. The Bible says, do not forsake

  Speaker 1: the assembly. And I'm just looking at his maturity, you know,

  Speaker 1: like I said, not judging, but you know, the Bible

  Speaker 1: says we can tell by their fruit, okay, And so

  Speaker 1: to their flesh. And sadly, this guy, he doesn't even

  Speaker 1: asked him about the location he was going to. I

  Speaker 1: was just asking him, you know, how does he like

  Speaker 1: the church? And you know, and then I was telling him,

  Speaker 1: this other guy is that job's witnessed, and you know,

  Speaker 1: I've been trying to share scripture with him and and

  Speaker 1: you know, and how you know, their teaching does not

  Speaker 1: agree with the Bible, the Word of God and stuff,

  Speaker 1: my spirit is convicted, like okay, Like man, how was

  Speaker 1: he okay? How was he intimate with God? Talking like

  Speaker 1: all that, and he said, oh yeah, I just get online.

  Speaker 1: Then he's talking about man, I know what I'm supposed

  Speaker 1: to be doing. But I'm so busy. That's his excuse,

  Speaker 1: too busy. Like he he's really thinking that this life

  Speaker 1: is priority. He's neglecting his spiritual life. He's neglecting an

  Speaker 1: eternity because of his life. Yeah, I get so busy,

  Speaker 1: and I want to read my Bible, but I get

  Speaker 1: so busy. His whole thing is he's busy. I mean,

  Speaker 1: there's nothing wrong with working, having a career, taking care
• 44:24
  Speaker 1: of your family, there's nothing wrong with that. But would

  Speaker 1: you want to go before God right, given account of
• 44:38
  Speaker 1: our lives to God? Now eternity in a backdrop. There's heaven,
• 44:42
  Speaker 1: there's hell, Hell is a huge pit right a fire,

  Speaker 1: and here's your judgment, and you tell God like, yeah,

  Speaker 1: I know your son died for me. I know that
• 44:56
  Speaker 1: he sacrificed himself from the cross. I know he shed
• 44:59
  Speaker 1: his blood, he was whipped. I know God that you
• 45:03
  Speaker 1: wrote a book, and your book can instruct me and

  Speaker 1: guide me. And I know Lord that I could have
• 45:11
  Speaker 1: had a relationship with you, but I was too busy.

  Speaker 1: I was working, and I was taking care of my family,

  Speaker 1: my children. If you really want to take care of

  Speaker 1: your family, make sure their eternal destiny is secure in Christ.
