Off-Duty Officer Killed in Kentucky Shooting | Lexington News
A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Boone County, Kentucky, when off-duty Florence PD K-9 officer Dustin Zink was fatally shot by four Boone County deputies during a domestic violence call. Zink, armed and reportedly threatening himself and others, exchanged gunfire with deputies during a tense negotiation — ultimately leading to his death. Despite immediate medical aid, he died at the hospital. The Florence PD honored his service, reminding the public that one moment shouldn’t define a life of dedication.
