- Smokey Da Bandit: ⁓ Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome. Yeah, yeah, the time is actually here. This your boy Smokey the Bandit, hey this can't stand it and I'm here with yes, another podcast for your ass. But the difference is this is a blast from the past. So we gonna call this episode here, Back to the Future. And the reason why I'm calling this episode Back to the Future is because we in this era where everybody's doing a podcast, right? Hence, this is the very first episode Tha Smoking Section of this era. And I say that because before podcasts was a thing, We was doing podcasting before podcasting was a thing. And the smoking section was originally created back in 2008. Yeah, 2008. Me and my homeboy, he go by the name, well, back then he was going by the name The Preacher. Me and him came together. and we created an online radio show that was like the beginning stages of podcasting before anybody was doing podcasting. We had an online radio show called Tha Smoking Section on Blog Talk Radio. Blog Talk Radio. was a web-based platform operating from August 2006 to January 2025. It allowed podcasters and radio sites and talk show hosts to create live and on-demand talk format content for distribution on the web and podcast distribution channels. So this shit. ⁓ podcasting started in like August 2006 from Blog Talk Radio and me and my homeboy who was also actually my neighbor slash roommate ⁓ created Tha smoking section. So since this is the first episode of Tha smoking section, I didn't want to create something without giving an explanation of why I was doing it. This is something that we did before and we just bringing it back on a bigger stage basically, you know, cause everybody doing podcasts and I couldn't start the podcast without giving history of where it came from. Cause everybody gonna be looking at it like, ⁓ it's another new podcast, another rapper doing a podcast. But now really we been doing this shit. You feel me? So we just bringing it back. That's why this episode is called Back to the Future. And my first guess will be the person I started this with because I wanted somebody else other than myself to give ⁓ more in-depth ⁓ insight of how we started this shit. So. ⁓ First off, happy 420. This is the first episode of the Smokest section on 420. Give me a minute. And We gonna kick this shit off the right way. Now, with the smoking section, I am gonna be your main host. I might bring on a co-host later on down the line, but we're gonna grow this channel. We're gonna grow this podcast all over again in this new era of 2026, for 2026. But I didn't wanna start my podcast without having somebody who helped me come up with this idea before everybody else fell in line with creating podcasts. We should have kept it going. But let me stop jibber jabbing and bring on my very first guest for the Smokers section 2026, one of the originators, my homeboy, The Preacher. Urban: You! Smokey Da Bandit: You. Yo. What it do? Because like I said, this episode is called Back to the Future because we're in the future, but we did this in the past. And I was telling people, I was telling our viewers that before a podcast was a thing, we was doing podcasts. So I want, you know, and I smoke a lot of weed, so my memory ain't as good as yours, you know. Urban: Head of time. Smokey Da Bandit: You was the OG when we was coming up. Oh, that weed man. Shout out to Big. Shout out to Big. out to Big. Hey, matter of fact, happy birthday to Big. His birthday just passed a couple days ago. So happy birthday to Big. Urban: What a weed man and your brother. Shout out to Big. Nah, so the way we met was I was cool with Jimmy Bones. Smokey Da Bandit: So the way we met was I was cool with Jimmy Bones. My brother. ⁓ Yep. And he was looking at an apartment. Hey. And so after that point, me and him kind of started talking. I needed to know where the connect was. Urban: ⁓ yep. And he was looking at an apartment. And so after that point, me and him kind of started talking. I needed to know where the connect was. He introduced me to big. Smokey Da Bandit: He introduced me to Big. And then he always kept talking about his brother who did music, but I think he was in Louisiana or New Orleans. were somewhere. I was in Louisiana. And I just remember he came saying he had a brother that did music. Shout out to Lake Charles, Louisiana. Bottom of the boot. But yeah, go ahead, go ahead. bad. So I just remember he said he had a brother that did music. And it just so happened that I had a studio. Urban: And then he always kept talking about his brother who did music but I think he was in Louisiana or New Orleans you were somewhere And I just remember he kept saying he had a brother that did music So I just remember he said he had a brother that did music and it just so happened that I had a studio Smokey Da Bandit: And so then what, Josh? After that, man, we just all started networking. So you had, so you were living. So where was you living at that time? Urban: And after that, man, we just all started networking. ⁓ I remember. 1722 Sheridan Road. Smokey Da Bandit: 1722 Sheridan Road. Shout out to the no-go. Still remember the address too. Yeah, I don't. I remember the landlord, believe. Because PC put his name. Mr. Northcott. Northcott. But yeah, so we was living on Sheridan Road in North Chicago. Well, before I say we, that was your crib. You had an apartment in the front. Urban: Still remember the address too. Mr. North, Mr. North Cat? Smokey Da Bandit: Above Mr. Lee's liquor store, right? In the back was another apartment. was living in that apartment in the back? Urban: You owe the glass up. That became you big. Whoa. Smokey Da Bandit: That became you, Big? No, first who was it? It was Jimmy Bones, right? Who was it? Jimmy Bones and yeah, he moved in first. Bones and Big, right? And then I was coming back and forth from Louisiana up here to get weed and to go record at the studio, because I ain't had them resources down there. And then I got in trouble, got locked up and shit. And that's a whole another episode. And then, uh. Urban: Who was it Jimmy Bones? Yeah. Yeah, he moved in first. Yeah Yeah, yeah The PPU charge. Smokey Da Bandit: We got hit with Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Gustav. So then I came back and ended up moving in with my brother, right? And found out that you did music, or did more than music. You're like a computer genius, computer tech. Had a whole bunch of computers, had a studio, everything. Cameras, all of that. Yeah. So how long was you, because you were MC, correct? Urban: Cameras, all of it. Well, the last time I picked up a mic was 2011. Smokey Da Bandit: Well, the last time I picked up a mic was 2011. Damn. Why is that? Urban: ⁓ Just life. Just life. Things started changing and all of that so... Smokey Da Bandit: ⁓ Just life. Life be life. I feel you. Just life. Yeah. Things started changing and all of that. So. I feel that. I feel that. ⁓ So then we met. You showed me that you was doing music. That's what you was doing. Music. You was rapping the preacher. But I don't think you was like. Rapping and opening up studio town too. Right, right, right, right. So it was like boom. Urban: Wrapping and opening up Studio Town too. Smokey Da Bandit: We all ended up living there. was live on Facebook the other day. I don't remember how we all like, cause it was like, nigga, it was me, Big Bones, PC, you, Korn, in two fucking apartments. How? then, I don't need that, your cousin that started, they used to always come over. Mopi? Urban: So And then not only that, your cousin that started on, they used to always come over. who went to California and started doing acting. So, good, yeah, get it, yeah, yeah, yep. Yep, so. Smokey Da Bandit: who went to started doing acting. So good, yeah, good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's That's crazy. So how did the smoking section come about according to your memory? Urban: ⁓ well, I will say, ⁓ well, first off, prior to that, because what kind of really pushed the whole thing was I think at some point, I think me and you started being around each other playing 2K. Smokey Da Bandit: ⁓ well, I will say, ⁓ well, first off, prior to that, cause what kind of really pushed the whole thing was I think at some point, I think me and you started being around each other playing 2k. I was whooping that ass. We use next door sometimes. ⁓ so after that though, I remember, ⁓ Urban: we use next door sometimes. So after that though I remember I was doing my thing, Poetic Mimes Productions, you were doing your thing with Empty Souls and then you made the offer to me at some point down the line, asked me to be the VP. Smokey Da Bandit: I was doing my thing, Poetic Mimes Productions. You was doing your thing with empty souls. And then you made the offer to me at some point down the line, asked me to be the VP. Yeah, I remember that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I started branching that out. So then I started trying to do things to help with the music. Do you remember what was all going on down that era? from? Do I remember which one? You said, I was doing Empty Soul. What was we doing at that time when I brought you in as vice president? Urban: and then I started branching that out so then I started trying to do things to help with the music so and then ⁓ Do I remember which word? Well I think everybody was kind of ⁓ he was adding everybody to the scene and then I just became like the last piece of the puzzle because I remember Big and then we started shooting his video. Smokey Da Bandit: Well, I think everybody was kind of, you was adding everybody to the scene. then I just became like the last piece of the puzzle. Cause I remember Big and then we started shooting his video. ⁓ And then, like I said, and then we started doing stuff. Corn started doing stuff, little skits. Then after that, me, Jimmy Bones and Big decided to have a group. Urban: ⁓ And then like I said, and then we started doing stuff, Korn started doing stuff, little skits. Then after that, me, Jimmy Bones and Big decided to have a group. You remember the name? Smokey Da Bandit: You remember the name? Lost Souls. Or is that the song? Is that just the name of the song? No, that was the song. That was the song. What was the name of the group? No, what was the name of the group? I forgot. Oh, no. See, I ain't... Urban: No, that was the song. That was the song. Yeah, but what was the name of the group? I forgot. Hold on, what was the name of that group? Smokey Da Bandit: Hold on, was the name of that? Urban: we call ourselves indecipherable speech. Smokey Da Bandit: Do we call ourselves indecipherable speech? Urban: trying to think, what do we call ourselves? No. Smokey Da Bandit: That don't sound familiar. do we call ourselves? See, you gonna ask me a question you don't even know the answer to. Now I gotta go on YouTube, look at the video. Right. So, Because the name of the group is on video, so. You became VP. I was doing the open mic at the time. The writers block. We also had a TV show with Korn. Was good. Was good. And then. Urban: Now I gotta go on YouTube, look at the video. the name of the group is on the video so so yeah What's good? Smokey Da Bandit: which came on Channel 17 every Thursday? What you call it? The blog talk came first. The podcast came first. Before What's We started taking that on the road doing the writer's block. Nah, not before What's Good. What's Good was before all of that. Oh, so it was What's Good, then it was the smoking section. did the smoking section. Urban: When not, ⁓ what you call it, the blog talk came first, the podcast came first. Cause we started taking that on the road, doing the writer's block. Nah, not before it was good. What's good was before all of that. and then we did the smoking section and then we started figuring out how to go to other places. Had the little cricket Wi-Fi adapter. Smokey Da Bandit: And then we started figuring out how to go to other places. Yeah, OK. See, that's why I had the little cricket Wi-Fi adapter. Yeah, because, ⁓ yeah, we was bringing the smoking section to the writer's Yeah, we took it to the writer's block. For those that don't know, I used to have a, you know, I'm a CEO of Empty Souls Entertainment. Urban: Good. Yeah, we took it to the writer's block. Smokey Da Bandit: the CEO, ⁓ the CEO of Empty Souls Entertainment and I will find different ways, know, I'm a state productive and shit. ⁓ and I had the opportunity to have my own open mic in Waukegan on, damn, what's that street? North? Urban: Ooh boy don't get me trying to name streets. can't, ooh. It's been a minute for me. Smokey Da Bandit: Ooh, don't get me to try on the damn streets. can't. It was on the corner. It was called the Bohemian Bar and Grill. Shout out to J. Hood. And at that same time, was, was, the open mic was for entertainers, artists who wanted to, you know, needed the platform to perform, to showcase their talent. So we had that. And then out of nowhere, you said, no, no, you said the podcast came first. Urban: You'll remember that part. Smokey Da Bandit: So where did that come from? How did that start? Urban: Yeah. I think, too, we was just trying to figure a way to do music. Like, we were still caught up in that MySpace era. And yeah, remember, we were still caught up in the MySpace era. Smokey Da Bandit: think we were just trying to figure a way to do music. Like we were still caught up in that MySpace era. Ooh! Yeah, remember, we were still caught up in the MySpace Yeah, this is back in MySpace era with the flip phones. With the top friends. Urban: Yeah. Yeah, well you had to design your own template. Smokey Da Bandit: Yeah. Design your own template. Shout out to Cotto, man. Shout out to Cotto. He had ⁓ all our pages looking dope. Yeah. Yeah. So I just remember that. then MySpace. So that's how far back this shit go. We've been doing podcasts before podcasts was a thing when MySpace was around. We got the footage. We going to roll the footage. We got receipts. That's what they say. Urban: So I just remember that and then ⁓ Smokey Da Bandit: That's what they say, right? We got the receipts. We got the receipts. We did the podcast. this old nine. And then we took it on the road, just like they do podcasts. That's crazy. Urban: Because if you think about it, we did the podcast. And then we took it on the road just like they do podcasts. Smokey Da Bandit: That's crazy. Told you a little bit ahead of the time. A little ahead We was way ahead of our time. Do you remember that first episode? ⁓ no. Yes. ⁓ go ahead. Go ahead. And don't forget, we got to remember all the other people. So we had Big, Bones, Gitta, PC. Had Soul Tempest around us. Mo P, Ronday. Security. had T.O., Pac-Man. Pac-Man. Urban: Told you a little bit ahead of the time, little ahead of the time. ⁓ and ⁓ yes, and don't forget we gotta remember all the other people so we have Big, Bones, ⁓ Gitta, PC, we Soul Tempest around us. We had TGO, Pac-Man. Smokey Da Bandit: Lil J, Jazzy. ⁓ The squad was big. We had ⁓ soul mates. Remember the soul mates, nigga? Yep. Lil models. We had models. We had empty soul shirts. We had empty soul pinkie. The sticks with the posters on it. Selling CDs at the gas station. Urban: I mean, hey, the squad, the squad was big. Yep. and then you had and then I had to see I had to see the duplicator Smokey Da Bandit: Selling CDs out the trunk. All with a... And then I had to see, I had the CD duplicator. Right. We selling in front of... We got flyers and all that in front of Mr. Lee's. We was trapping. We was trapping. We was getting... We had everything you need. the shows, putting them on DVD. We had the DVD... Urban: Just think about it though, doing the shows, putting them on DVD. with all the different episodes and all of that stuff on one DVD? Smokey Da Bandit: with all the different episodes and all of that stuff on one DVD? ⁓ I still got them. Yeah, I still got them. I still got them. Yeah. We taking it back. had DVDs, CDs, posters at every liquor store. We really been getting it out the money. the other day. Huh? And guess what CD I came across in the garage? What? Urban: Yo, and check it, you know I was going through my garage the other day and guess what CD I came across in the garage? What was the last dudes that did the first ones that did the thirsty? We did thirsty too. The ones that did the first one, what they used to call they self, G fam or something like that. Smokey Da Bandit: What was the last dudes that did the first ones that did the thirsty? We did thirsty too. The ones that did the first one, what they used to call they self, G fam or something like that? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that right here. Urban: I found they old CD Smokey Da Bandit: Yeah, I found their old CD. JG, Phenom, shout out to GFM. ⁓ No, they changed their name. What was it? Cassidy? Yeah, they changed it Cassidy, Yeah. Yeah, we going back down. Hey, back to the future right here. So do you remember, so we ended up doing it. We was roommates slash neighbors. Urban: Yep. Yeah, they changed the cast, yeah. Yeah. Smokey Da Bandit: had a whole gang of niggas. Niggas trapping, niggas in and out. And not only that, look what's behind your head. Urban: just a... what? and not only that, look what's behind your head And I recall seeing that showing up on the time clock when we shot the music video. Smokey Da Bandit: And I recall seeing that showing up on the time clock when we shot the music video. ⁓ but I get high? I mean, all the time I get high? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We gonna get into all That was an all-day event. Man, I got them tapes. We finished. So this is a blast from the past, y'all. This is why I wanted this first episode to happen like this, because I got somebody else that could tell the story. Urban: That was an all day event. Smokey Da Bandit: aside from myself, me, I'm gonna be doing this shit until it's over, until I quit, until I get tired, but we gonna keep it going. But I'm gonna tell y'all more of the story. We gonna get different angles from different people. It's a lot that's gonna happen in this new podcast. So how was the format of the smoking section? Urban: Whoo! How was the format? Smokey Da Bandit: Woo, how was the format? How did we go about doing our show? I say we was a mixture of everything, talking about topics, music, new artists, prank phone calls. Urban: I say we was a mixture of everything talking about topics, music, new artists, prank phone calls. Pocket pussy. Smokey Da Bandit: Yep. Pocket pussy. So I just looked at the Urban: So... Smokey Da Bandit: I got some of this footage, right? We gonna play it. And it show how we was really like, we was niggas grunt. We come from the mud. Like niggas was trapping, crammed every, I don't know how we did it, but it was niggas came together, paid the rent, pay whatever we needed to do. Made movies, made videos. We writing and directing our own videos, movies. Shout out to Cornell Ford, AKA TGO. Urban: Mm-hmm. was this, Smokey Da Bandit: ⁓ Jerry was part of that shit. We made movies. Can't forget JB. Yeah, shout out to Jerry. Ain't seen him in a minute. ⁓ yeah, so we've been doing this for a long time, And we just, for this first episode, I wanted to give a history lesson of that. And when I was looking at this tape, I'm going show some of the footage. When I was looking at the tape, Joe, you had these. Urban: I just can't, I can't forget JB. Smokey Da Bandit: these computers on top of the computers in this little shelf area had the big leather couch, big laid out on the couch rolling up woods. This one woods had eight in the pack, big rolling all eight. Yeah, I got that picture too. Niggas, niggas. got that picture too. You had all the technology nigga, you had cameras. I had a camcorder. We, I don't know what. We was getting the cameras from ⁓ Urban: Yeah, I got that picture too. I got that picture too. we was getting the cameras from ⁓ Comcast. Smokey Da Bandit: From Comcast. cameras from Comcast. We was recording the footage, we was recording the shows while it was going on as if it was live, but it wasn't even alive back then. There was no live. Because think about it. But we was talking about, we recorded live, y'all. As if they could see the shit. But if you really think about it though, look at it like this. Everybody, they do podcasts, right? They want to be on TV. They want to do stuff like that, right? Yeah. Urban: And that's funny because people... Because think about it... We... Look, but if you really think about it though, look at it like this. Everybody, when they do podcasts, right, they want to be on TV. They want to do stuff like that, right? We did all that. Plus, we had a TV show to broadcast on. What's good? Smokey Da Bandit: We did all that. Plus we had a TV show to broadcast on. And we had a TV show. What's Good. Because niggas weren't- We played our movies on What's Good. Niggas weren't using YouTube how they're using it now like that back then. But for some reason we was recording our episode. Our movies dropped right on What's Good. Everything was on What's Music videos was on What's Good. Shout out to Korn. Shout out to Korn, Urban: We played our movies on what's good. Mm-mm. Nah. Our movies, yo, our movies drop right on what's good. Yep. Yep. Smokey Da Bandit: Toast the corn, Happy 420. So when I was asking you what the format was, I was trying to see what you remember, like how we ran that bitch. Because I saw it already. Man, like, man, look, the best thing I can remember is, every episode we had was fun, funny. I remember the moments of trying to go get the blunts at the last minute before the show started because we had it set on a timer when we had to start at the exact time. Urban: Man, the best thing I can remember is man, every episode we had was fun, funny. I remember the moments of trying to go get the blunts at the last minute before the show start, because we haven't set on a timer when we had to start at the exact time. Smokey Da Bandit: Do you know, you, look, so we on a mic right now. Do you remember how we was doing the smoking section back then? Urban: I had that one mic. Smokey Da Bandit: I had that one mic. Nope. Wait, wait, wait. No, no, no. Urban: Wait wait wait wait no no no We're using the camera. Smokey Da Bandit: We using the camera? Nope. We was using the flip phone. We was passing the phone back and forth. We was talking on the phone, recording our shit until we had like a guest, then we used the mic. Mm-hmm. Because we had that many We didn't have that many in-studio guests, but we did get them a mic for what we did. But other than that, our episode out. And then here's the kicker. Urban: channel. Mm-hmm. When it was just me and you sitting there doing it. And then the... Check this out. And then here's the kicker. Smokey Da Bandit: On a flip phone, not even a... Urban: You ready for this one? Because I know you don't remember this. Smokey Da Bandit: You ready for this one? Because I know you don't remember this. We was doing it all on stolen Wi-Fi. Hell no, no. I don't remember that. What? Who? Mr. Uh. Remember. Who's Mr. Hahn. Mr. Hahn. We're not really stolen because he knew. Tomorrow. It was like both of us. I had the Wi-Fi thing to the window. Yeah. Urban: We was doing it all on stolen wifi. Remember, I was Mr. Han. Well, not really stolen, he knew. But remember, I had the I had the Wi-Fi thing to the window. And on the days that it snowed real bad, we couldn't do the show. Smokey Da Bandit: And on the days that it snowed real bad, we couldn't do the show. ⁓ and we would get mad. It was sometimes like I got an episode where we was mad. I was getting mad at the end. We also used to get drunk as fuck. We used to get super drunk. But we was getting mad because we started running into the malfunctions. Running into malfunctions. So another- the show and didn't realize we clicked off. So. Urban: But we was getting mad because we started running into the malfunctions. Yeah, I be doing the show and didn't realize we clicked off. Smokey Da Bandit: What else did we do on the show? What do you remember? Like what was the show about? Cause I know I don't want to say too much cause I could keep going on and on, but I want to get another person's perspective. know cause it's like, I can say so much. Say it all. So it's kind of like we gave upcoming artists a shot. Bam. Swav was one of our firsts. Who? Who? Urban: I know, because it's like, I can say so much. So it's kind of like, we gave upcoming artists a shot. ⁓ Suave was one of our first. I the lyricist. I swallowed the lyricist. I remember when we got him up there. Smokey Da Bandit: I swore the lyricists. Yeah. I swore the lyricists. remember when we got him up there. He was the first guest. Yeah. So I was going to ask you that. So I mean, I just remember, like, we were trying to create opportunities for everybody. It wasn't like, you know, just everybody just only people that was empty souls. We, like, tried to branch it out to other people. Yes, we did. Yes, we did. But, so yeah, that's gave a lot of people a shot to be on there. Urban: Yeah, I mean, I just remember like, we were trying to create opportunities for everybody. wasn't like, know, just everybody just only people that was empty souls. We like tried to branch it out to other people. Yeah, we gave a lot of people a shot to be on there. Smokey Da Bandit: So do you know like what was the show about? But in your mind, what was our show I want to say, in my mind, it was just like a radical podcast would be. We talked about current stuff. talked about, ⁓ like I said, we talked about music. We gave opinions on people's songs. Yep. we played, we had like playlists. We would play local artists. I got a tape showing all of And started mixing it up, local artists, mainstream. Mixing it up, yep, yep. ⁓ Urban: I wanna say in my mind it was just like a radical podcast would be. We talked about current stuff. We talked about, ⁓ like I said, we talked about music. We gave opinions on people's songs. I'll say Mm-hmm, then we started mixing it up local artists mainstream Then we had theme, we had theme episodes. I ain't really listen to, I mean, I listen to Wu-Tang, but I kind of listen to him more individually. Urban: Everything I can say, it'll be old school. Slaughterhouse, when they was all together. Smokey Da Bandit: in the current state of hip hop. This is current news. Let's get into some stuff. What do you think about the Gucci Mane and Poo Siesty situation? Urban: What do I really think about it? Smokey Da Bandit: What do I really think about it? Yeah, we keeping it. Do you think ⁓ we keeping it real? Do you think? ⁓ Urban: All right, so me keeping it real. Smokey Da Bandit: Gucci is a snitch or what do you think? What is your scenario on the whole situation? All right, so this is my scenario on the whole situation. Urban: Alright, so this is my scenario on the whole situation. I think someone signed the contract. Smokey Da Bandit: I think someone signed the contract. Urban: Got an advance. Smokey Da Bandit: Got an advance. Urban: Blutie Advanced. Smokey Da Bandit: Lootie advance. Urban: and now can't get out of the contract because you still owe money to the label. Smokey Da Bandit: and now can't get out of the contract because you still owe money to the label. Urban: That's it. Now what he did after the fact, mean... Smokey Da Bandit: That's it. Now what he did after the fact, mean... Urban: I don't know, it's kind of slippery slope man because the thing is... Smokey Da Bandit: I don't know. It's kind of slippery slope, Because the thing is... slippery slope? Do you think he actually did... Okay, because allegedly, for those who don't know, who's living under a rock somewhere, allegedly, Gucci Mane signed an artist... No, this is a fact. Gucci Mane had an artist named Poo Shiesty, who got locked up, what, like seven years ago for... ⁓ Urban: because it's all about. Mm-hmm. Smokey Da Bandit: Robbing somebody. He was on fire. Well, he was getting in trouble from the jump. But yeah, but he get out and now allegedly he done robbed Gucci Mane, forced Gucci Mane to sign him out of his contract. Urban: Well, he was getting in trouble from the jump. Mm-hmm. Smokey Da Bandit: Mm-hmm at gunpoint Urban: which makes the contract null and void because that's under duress. Smokey Da Bandit: Kidnap which makes the contract null and void because that's under the rest right which Gucci said in this song did you hear the song? That I cut off that I didn't even want to hear that that was that was trash to me Wow it was was was trash the song was trash Yeah, why that was just that was I think that was something just to try to save face So Urban: That I cut off. I didn't even want to hear that. That was trash to me. I'm sorry, it was trash. There. Yeah, right there. That was just, that was, I think that was something just to try to save face. Smokey Da Bandit: Alright, so how do you feel about the song? you said you turned it off. What do you mean by saving face? Urban: because right now you know you gotta try to keep the name because the name is a brand and the brand is money so you gotta you trying to keep keep the face so you don't want to go down as a rat you don't want to go down as like Smokey Da Bandit: Because right now, know, gotta try to keep the name because the name is a brand and the brand is money. So you gotta, you trying to keep the face. So you don't want to go down as a rat. You don't want to go down as like. Is he a rat? You know how it is when a bully get beat up. Urban: You know how it is when a bully get beat up. He got to fight again to prove he, you know, he still got it. Smokey Da Bandit: He got to fight again to prove he, you know, he still got it. Who, Gooty? No, just in any situation. I think that... Urban: No, just in any situation. I think that he's just trying to save face. Smokey Da Bandit: He's just trying to save face. So do you feel like he's a rat? Do you care? Urban: Not really, Nah, but I don't look at stuff in that sense no more, man. Like to me, it's no benefit in like street code. Like the street code been dead. Smokey Da Bandit: Not really, Nah, but I don't look at stuff in that sense no more, man. Like to me, it's no benefit in like street code. Like the street code been dead. Urban: like nobody like follows that no more man this is live by the sword die by the sword that's where it used to be but you know I'm saying nowadays is Smokey Da Bandit: Like nobody like follows that no more man. Live by the sword, die by the sword. That's where it used to be. Right. But then they there's no rules in the streets. But then No, but see that's the thing. were rules. No, that's what I'm saying. know what I'm saying? So, know, everybody pick and choose to what the situation is. You know what saying? Move the goalposts for certain people. Urban: Nah, but see that's the thing, there were rules. There were rules, you know what I'm saying? So, you know, everybody pick and choose to what the situation is, you know what I'm saying? death because I mean you know you look at it like this you can and you can take the hardest person that that live by street code Smokey Da Bandit: So because I mean, you know, you look at it like this you can and you can take the hardest person that that lived by street code Let his loved one get killed you want somebody to talk Urban: Let his loved one get killed. You want somebody to talk. You know what saying? So it's like, it goes both ways. Like if something happens to one of your people, you want to know who did it. Smokey Da Bandit: You know what saying? So it's like, it goes both ways. Like if something happens to one of your people, you want to know who did it. Urban: but that requires somebody to snitch and be a rat to make it known. Smokey Da Bandit: but that requires somebody to snitch and be a rat to make it known. To the police or to just somebody else? Because they could just be running their mouth. anybody. mean, because in some situations, if you're not a part of it, stay out of it. Urban: to mean, because in some situations, if you're not a part of it, stay out of it. You know, if the police do their job and it takes them to where it needs to go, then that's fine. But I just don't think that applies, especially if it happens to somebody who's not even thinking about street code. Smokey Da Bandit: You know, if the police do their job and it take them to where it needs to go, then that's fine. But I just don't think that applies, especially if it happens to somebody who's not even thinking about street code. So do you feel like... his situation, Gucci, right? With them saying that he spoke to... Urban: Mm-hmm. Smokey Da Bandit: police or whatever right would you consider that snitching or is he is he a civilian Urban: Well, look at it like this. You got something stolen from you. How much is what you got stolen from you worth? Smokey Da Bandit: Well, look at it like this. You got something stolen from you. How much is what you got stolen from you worth? He got tickets on. Urban: Right? So I mean, but how much he said he lost or that they took from him. Smokey Da Bandit: So I mean, but how much he said he lost or that they took from him? I don't want to misinform, but it was, I think it was like a half million. We got to say allegedly every time now. Allegedly half a million. All right, so here's another reason. Urban: But it was a good bit of money, right? Okay, allegedly half a million. All right, so here's another reason. The insurance companies will not claim that or let you claim it if you don't file a police report. Smokey Da Bandit: The insurance companies will not claim that or let you claim it if you don't file a police report. Bingo. How you gonna get your money back? You know, if you don't file a police report, you taking a loss of $500,000, allegedly. So you think he did that? I think he I think he did what he wanted to do to keep his money, or to get his money back. I feel like, because I don't really care about Because if you're to take a loss of, allegedly, half a mil, why not just give it to him? Urban: You if you don't file a police report, you taking a loss of $500,000, allegedly. Yeah, I think he did what he wanted to do to keep his money or to get his money back. Because if you're take a loss of a legit half a mil, why not just give it to him? if you're prepared to just take the loss on it anyway. Smokey Da Bandit: if you're prepared to just take the loss on it anyway. But like Gucci... That situation. Because allegedly what was he told in the altercation? How about get in there and cut me them two out three albums that you owe me? Who said that? Gucci? That's what allegedly that Gucci said to him during the altercation when he was asking about the money. Damn. Urban: because allegedly what was he told in the altercation? How about get in there and cut me them two out three albums that you owe me. That's what allegedly that Gucci said to him during the altercation when he was asking about the money. It was like, well, you know, if you want the money, how about you go in there and cut me them albums or whatever that you owe me? Because think about it, contracts are signed to how many albums? And if you only gave him, so if you only gave him one or two albums, did you sign for five? Smokey Da Bandit: It was like, well, you know, if you want the money, how about you go in there and cut me them albums or whatever that you owe me? Because think about it, contracts are signed to how many albums? However many you signed And if you only gave him, so if you only gave him one or two albums, you signed for five. They'll owe me nigga. They still owe me. And it don't even gotta be Gucci man. The big labels do people like this too. Urban: still owe me and it don't even got to be Gucci man the big labels do people like this too They will blacklist you, will pause you, and you won't even be able to drop an album. Smokey Da Bandit: They will blacklist you, they will pause you, and you won't even be able to drop an album. I think that situation shouldn't have happened at all. He went at Gucci on some street shit, and I feel like Gucci not in that street shit no more. He been out of that street shit, that street mind. He said that in the so-called song. I'm a businessman. I'm a businessman. Urban: No. He said that in the so-called song. I'm a business man. I'm a business man. I'm a... Smokey Da Bandit: I mean, you've been saying that, but at the same time, you still was Gucci though. And he still gonna be Gucci, but you know. But I mean, honestly. ⁓ didn't see where he shifted from Gucci the businessman? I think when he came out seen when the shift took place. was a whole shift. It was a whole shift. When that juggler went and got this teeth fixed, that was phase one. Working out. Urban: But I mean, I mean honestly, honestly, you didn't see where he shifted from Gucci the businessman? There was, like you seen when the shift took place. When that juggling got this T fixed, that was phase one. Smokey Da Bandit: got his kids, you know, writing books. You know, he, you know, got his wife, wife to flip the money, you know, got him on point. He like, you You got it. It gotta be gross somewhere. Yeah. So I just think like that's fucked up. Like nigga, you still had an ankle monitor on and Urban: Mm-hmm. Not only that, mean, you got it. It got to be gross somewhere. Smokey Da Bandit: You went to go rob Gucci, allegedly. But not only that, man. I blame the Pops, too. Because this ain't all her. It It did. You got your daddy there. Your daddy, your one throwing the gas on the fire. And then you got niggas like, this is just like the dumbest shit ever. You got niggas, that one that's trying to get motion, and niggas that's trying to get a name. Urban: But not only that, man, I blame the Pops too, because this ain't all him. Your pops is the one throwing the gas on the fire. Smokey Da Bandit: They with you, they like, yeah, first off I'm with Poo Shiesty. Finna rob some niggas. I got this chain, I'm finna put it on Snapchat. Urban: Mm-mm. Smokey Da Bandit: I got this watch, I'm finna put it on Instagram. Niggas self snitching. Not only self snitching, you just fail to realize even if you cut off your location, it can still be given. Right, got the monitor on, phones. Phones be tracked. Like I be watching all them crime. Urban: not only self snitching, you just fail to realize even if you cut off your location it can still be given. Smokey Da Bandit: Prime shiz, man, be my little. some of them will get up there and tell you exactly, yo, we out here on Sheridan and with my Luther King, yo, pop up, the videos disappear on Snapchat, they recording theyself with everything they just rob niggas for. And then everybody go down. Motherfuckers telling, I heard, allegedly, that's crazy that we gotta say allegedly so many times these days. Before, I ain't never heard that word so much. Urban: Look, some of them will get up there tell you exactly. Yo, we out here on Sheridan and Martin Luther King, yo. Pop up, pull up. Well, you know. Smokey Da Bandit: to these days, you can't even say, you gotta say I'm alive and all that type, like we living in a different era, man. Back then we could just say whatever. I understand the allegedly, because allegedly is innocent to prove him guilty. Right, and plus, you know, people, people sue people now. Yeah, so until that gavel hit and the judgment goes through. I just think the situation. say whatever it is. Is unfortunate. Urban: Well, I understand the allegedly, because allegedly is innocent till proven guilty. So... Yeah, so until that gavel hit and the judgment goes through then you can say whatever it is. Smokey Da Bandit: Why would you go get this? You still was on what probation parole or whatever. And man, why else are you going after money? Why else would you go after money? Because you ain't got nothing. Urban: man why why else are you going after money why else would you go after money cuz you ain't got nothing Smokey Da Bandit: Nah man, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. He shouldn't have did that. Like, I don't know what they was thinking. And you got the wrong, he had the wrong niggas in this corner. You got your, your daddy couldn't even tell you, this ain't a, don't, like what is y'all? Cause your daddy is just as hungry for the money as you are. It's just, it's just like, what the fuck was y'all thinking? Really? Like you robbing one of the most, Urban: Cause your daddy is just as hungry for the money as you are. Smokey Da Bandit: famous trappers in the world. Urban: in a place they got cameras security Smokey Da Bandit: In a place that got cameras. That's not gonna hit the headlines? I heard about the story months ago too. I heard about it months ago. Until it hit the news like it hit the news. It really wasn't even out there like that. I'm like, why nobody really talking about that? They saying it was a rumored or whatever. So I guess then it finally came out like boom. I'm like dang. Cause you can't say nothing to the police actually. Urban: then because you can't say nothing until the police actually take the action. Smokey Da Bandit: take the action so well you said you didn't like the song huh no okay what do you think about Urban: Nah. Mm-mm. Smokey Da Bandit: What do you think about ⁓ Urban: Yeah. Smokey Da Bandit: What do you think about the mystical situation? Urban: UGH Smokey Da Bandit: You talk about current events. This is the smokin' section. Alright, so what I feel about the mystical situation is... Urban: Yeah. Alright, so what I feel about the mystical situation is... After the first go around, should have locked yourself in the studio until everybody stayed away. Smokey Da Bandit: After the first go around, should have locked yourself in the studio until everybody stayed away. Urban: Like, don't keep putting yourself around that same situation because it becomes too easy to be the go-to. Smokey Da Bandit: Like, don't keep putting yourself around that same situation because it becomes too easy to be the go-to. Urban: You what saying? Like whether you did it or not, whether you took a plea, like... You shouldn't run into the same thing twice. Smokey Da Bandit: You know what saying? Like whether you did it or not, whether you took a plea, like, you shouldn't run into the same thing twice. Real. But I feel like- should know the first time. Urban: like you should know the first time. Smokey Da Bandit: Now his son on the other hand? His son? son? Which one? His real son? The one that's rapping, the one that raps just like him. Urban: Now his son on the other hand... FIRE. The one that's rapid the one that raps just like him Smokey Da Bandit: I'm a fan bro. Me personally, I don't believe that's his real son. I think that's somebody. You don't think so? You know, I'm nosy and I'll be paying attention to everything. I'll be trying to keep up You know he got the phone call, all of them talking. I seen that. I seen that. To me, I watched that though, when I watched it, looked like Mystical was just like cosigning like, yeah, keep my name alive. Urban: Pretty dope, You don't think so? Well, you know they got him, you know he got the phone call of them talking while he locked up. Smokey Da Bandit: you know, you know, he just going along with the program. Like, you know, he co-signing them. That's how I looked at it, like he co-signing them. claiming them. He claiming them, but he got real sons that feel the way that I seen personally. I seen, like, I paid attention to the little drama that's going on with that situation. It's a lot. Urban: He claiming that... He claiming them. Smokey Da Bandit: So, Dool Koe, I ain't gonna take away. He probably just the outside baby, I don't know, man. Me, I feel like ⁓ it's a play and I ain't mad at it. I seen shit, but I'm on the outside looking in, but I seen some drama he had with his BM hat. Urban: He probably just the outside baby, man. Smokey Da Bandit: ⁓ is BM had Mystical Real Son on live, on Instagram live. They was blasting him, him on blast. Like that ain't, that ain't his real son. that's, if you my brother, why you ain't, why you block me? If you my brother. So it's a whole, that whole situation. I know about that situation. I'm a fan, like Mystical was one of my favorite artists. So I'm disappointed. Like, he got this stain on his name, you know what I'm saying? It's like, damn, though, especially when... But, he put it there. Urban: but he put it there. Smokey Da Bandit: Yeah, it's permanent. That first go-round was the time that he had where some people still felt he was innocent and you know what saying? he did what he had to do and he got out. Urban: He put it there. first go-round was the time that he had where some people still felt he was innocent and you know what saying? So he did what he had to do and he got out. so you still have fans on your side but to turn around and do it a second time you just you took the drain out the sink now Smokey Da Bandit: So you still have fans on your side, but to turn around and do it a second time you you you just And I know I know some females be lying, especially when you already got the stain on your name Some females are like, ⁓ I just say that so we don't know did like like like everything is alleged Look it could have been consensual but Urban: That's why I said, you already know it's just that easy to believe. it could have been consensual to the end. Smokey Da Bandit: The fact is he took a plea and asked, I saw that and I was like, damn, nah. ⁓ man. Urban: When you're already gone for the first time, it's very easy to think you'll do it again. Smokey Da Bandit: When you're already gone for the first time, it's very easy to think you'll do it again. Cause they had him locked up for a long ass time. He wasn't charged. But you just gotta wear out your odds, I'ma have me some cute cards next. Urban: But you just gotta wear out your odds, You know how it is for some people, man? It's... It's... You either take the plea or... Smokey Da Bandit: Yeah, man. So, ⁓ More current, more current topic. What do you think about the offset and Lil Teejay situation? Know about that? I know he got shot. ⁓ huh. And that's about as much as I know if he got shot. That's it? Urban: I know he got shot. And that's about as much as I know if he got shot. Smokey Da Bandit: I mean I put it like this when it it pertains to music I'm more in tune to what you got going on in your life than what they got going on with this like if it ain't something I really care about or concern like I don't like it just goes in one hand out the other Urban: I mean I put it like this when it pertains to music I'm more in tune to what you got going on in your life than what they got going on with theirs. Like if it ain't something I really care about or concern like I don't like it just goes in one hand out the other Smokey Da Bandit: should be all up and down my motherfuckin timeline. Maybe because I'm in that think about it. Anything you post or any achievement you do, you see at some point I'm like, yo, congratulations, keep grinding, pop into a stream or whatever. Like, I don't interact with people like that. So, I mean, if I don't really know you, you got shot. Hey, how my man say, yo, niggas get shot every day, Damn. Damn. Urban: I mean think about it, anything you post or any achievement you do you see at some point I'm like, yo congratulations keep grinding pop into a stream or whatever like I don't interact with people like that so I mean if I don't really know you you got shot, how my man say, niggas get shot everyday B Smokey Da Bandit: But prayers up for him. He's doing good. It looks like he popped back out. He got shot. From what I heard, it was some dumb ass shit. From what I saw online, you know, I'll be having my little podcast that I'll be tapped into that be giving me my daily news, man. Shout out to everybody that's out there doing their podcast thing. I really be tapped in with, you know, like. Urban: ⁓ I'm glad he okay, I'm glad he okay. Smokey Da Bandit: I keep my I stay updated with the current events man on like poetic flaco. He's doing this thing, you know breakfast club. Well, that's it on YouTube. That's it over with. They focus for that. Yeah, they focus for that. But that was that was my that was my news every daily news, you know. But yes, a whole bunch of Vlad TV, all that shit. So I can't stand that. You can't stand them. You know, you can't stand Vlad. Urban: Hmmmm I can't stand that joker. Hell no. Culture, Vulture, Fish, Loo. Smokey Da Bandit: Culture Vulture for sure. Damn, that's how you feel? That's how you feel about Vlad? You finna get me kicked off the air already? I ain't even heard no podcast! And for us that go on there, I feel some kind of way about us too. fired at DJ Vlad. Not shots fired. Not shots fired. But you said you're Culture Vulture. Why do you feel like that? Urban: Yo, and for us that go on there, look, I feel some kind of way about us too. Mm-hmm. Nah, not shats fried. Not just not shats fried, this. I just think that like he put out more negative to me than positive. It's like you always got somebody on there and you want to talk about somebody else, what somebody else said. It's like you always trying to stir the beef. Smokey Da Bandit: I just think that like he put out more negative to me than positive. It's like you always got somebody on there and you want to talk about somebody else, what somebody else said. It's like you always trying to stir the beef. Urban: when you have nothing to do with it whatsoever. Smokey Da Bandit: when you have nothing to do with it whatsoever. Urban: Mm-hmm and then like I said, and then God forbid that they got something that goes against what he believed Like sometimes he tried to defend some stuff. That's kind of on borderline Offensive and it's like really Smokey Da Bandit: Mm-hmm. And then, like I said, and then God forbid that they got something that goes against what he believed. Like, sometimes he try to defend some stuff that's kind of on borderline offensive. it's like, really? He'd be passionate about certain things, but I just look at him as like... Nah, but then when we get passionate about it, then it's a problem. Urban: Mm-mm. Nah, but then when we get passionate about it, then it's a problem. Smokey Da Bandit: We gonna have a lot of there's been some people that checked him. ⁓ yeah, man, then my desk it be going down Mm-hmm. And you won't hear much either. Come on, man. I mean really? ⁓ yeah, you talking tough sometimes you talking to him with the wolf tickets ⁓ Urban: because there's been some people that checked him. Mm-hmm, and you won't hear much either. Come on, man. I mean really? yeah it was the wolf tickets. Mm-mm. Yo to me, he like that dog that's behind a gate barkin' and then when you open the gate he stop barkin' and don't even come out and do nothin'. Smokey Da Bandit: He like that dog that's behind a gate barking. And then when you open the gate, he stopped barking and don't even come out and do nothing. So what you think about him and the boost, you know about the boost situation, him and Vlad? Urban: Nah. Smokey Da Bandit: Nah. Yeah, that's what the topic of the day was today. What they beefing to? Yeah, because I guess Boosie asked for a raise basically. He's like, man, I guess I ain't been doing no interviews. He ain't been doing no interviews with him. it's like, we finish this. No, because you don't want to pay. ⁓ and allegedly, because allegedly. Urban: What they beefin' to? Nah, cause you don't want to pay. Smokey Da Bandit: I'ma say that because I fuck with Boosie hard. He was upset that he found out that 6ix9ine was getting paid a certain price, way more than him. So he like, well, hey, nigga, let me get it. And Vlad didn't want to give him 5,000 more, because that was exactly what he said. The price wasn't out there until Vlad went and put up, Vlad. Urban: I See, but... But... But see, to me... Smokey Da Bandit: Then Vlad came out, Bussi was like, man, Vlad don't want to give me 5,000 more than what I asked for. So we came, you know, I ain't going on Vlad no more. I'm gonna do my own thing. I'm gonna get paid more. And then Vlad was like, you know, Vlad went on his show and put the whole info out here. Like, yeah, I was only giving him 25,000. Then he asked me for 40,000. I'm like, I can't give you 40,000, Bussi. So pussy when it's funny and it's funny that you couldn't get them the same amount that Marlon Wayans asked for and and and you wouldn't give it to him either Mmm, that's it. That's kind of like like you got a salary cap on what you could pay a nigga But you guys six nine. ⁓ But you guys six nine Urban: And it's funny that you couldn't get him the same amount that Marlon Wayans asked for and you wouldn't give it to him either. Like you got a salary cap on what you could pay a nigga. Smokey Da Bandit: Way more than both of them. just saying. I ain't even think about that. I'm just saying. Because he so said I gave him way more than Marlon Waynes was asking for. Glad I said that. Yeah, Marlon Waynes asked for 40. And he said no. He act like he was offended by that. How could you ask me, how could you charge me that much or whatever? Urban: Just sayin'. I'm just sayin'. Yeah, Marlin Wayne Axle 40. He act like he was offended by that. How could you ask me, how could you charge me that much or whatever? Smokey Da Bandit: Damn. But see, it was already stemming into that because it was already in the talks of what people was getting paid to be on there. Because some people went on there for little or nothing. Yeah, some started off with people not getting paid from what I heard. Godfrey and all that shit. I fuck with Godfrey. And then how much he made because they were supposed to go tick for tack, you know. I'm gonna do yours, you do mine.
