Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: All right, all right, yo yo yo yo, live from Philly.
- 0:08Speaker 1: It's the number one rated Polly and Tony Foolsco. Seaw
- 0:11Speaker 1: yo yo, Polly Foolsco here with Tony Fosco and Tony Yo.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Last week, just a terrible bottom of the barrel guest
- 0:22Speaker 1: Jason McIntyre and you know, your worst coming up to
- 0:25Speaker 1: us all week. They're saying, why do you bring that
- 0:27Speaker 1: fool on the show? We didn't, you know, our partners
- 0:30Speaker 1: over there at Fox Sports Radio a new partnership we forge,
- 0:33Speaker 1: you know, they begged us. Yeah, they were crying. You
- 0:35Speaker 1: can give you a little inside baseball people on what
- 0:37Speaker 1: goes on here. You know, you see what these networks do.
- 0:40Speaker 1: There's a business term called cross promotion. So what they
- 0:43Speaker 1: do is they you know, they take a note talent
- 0:46Speaker 1: like McIntyre and they put him on a show that
- 0:48Speaker 1: everybody's heard of our show to promote the show he's
- 0:52Speaker 1: on that needs viewers, you know, the herb where he's
- 0:55Speaker 1: a sidekick. So you know that's what's going on there. Yeah,
- 0:58Speaker 1: this is like Cheers, which was a great show. When
- 1:02Speaker 1: they tried to spin off Frasier, which was a terrible show,
- 1:05Speaker 1: which I never understood. At all, not funny at all.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Terrible show, not funny, horrible show. Anyway, this week hopefully
- 1:13Speaker 1: a better guest. Tony, you were gonna talk about Eagles
- 1:17Speaker 1: backup quarterback Garden the minshowho has been in the news.
- 1:20Speaker 1: He's you know, he's taken a little criticism lately. But
- 1:22Speaker 1: we're gonna talk to another Washington State quarterback went to
- 1:26Speaker 1: the same school, one you may have heard of. You know,
- 1:29Speaker 1: he wasn't as good, but he went there, had some
- 1:31Speaker 1: success in the NFL, very limited, Drew bledsoew. But you know,
- 1:36Speaker 1: before we get into the show, Tony, something we must
- 1:40Speaker 1: address up top. You know, people they want us to
- 1:44Speaker 1: address the situation that unfolded in the Monday night game
- 1:48Speaker 1: between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals. And but
- 1:52Speaker 1: you know, out of respect for all the parties involved,
- 1:56Speaker 1: and because there's nothing we can add, we are not
- 1:59Speaker 1: going to address the topic any further on this show.
- 2:03Speaker 1: You know, we've heard a lot of people say they,
- 2:05Speaker 1: you know, they want the next week's games postponed, you know,
- 2:08Speaker 1: possibly just end the season and have a break before
- 2:11Speaker 1: the playoffs. And well, we don't want to weigh in
- 2:14Speaker 1: on that either. Dooey, Tony. No, we know a lot
- 2:17Speaker 1: of people feel strongly that there shouldn't be any more
- 2:20Speaker 1: regular season games and that we should just go off
- 2:23Speaker 1: the current playoff seating as it is wherever the teams
- 2:26Speaker 1: may be seated currently, and I haven't checked the most
- 2:29Speaker 1: recent up to date standings. But well, we don't want
- 2:33Speaker 1: to weigh in here, but if that's the way it
- 2:35Speaker 1: has to be, then maybe that's the best and fairest
- 2:38Speaker 1: option moving forward for all parties involved, well said Tony.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And we're just gonna leave it at that, because you know,
- 2:45Speaker 1: we got a lot of other topics, not as important,
- 2:48Speaker 1: but other topics to get to, you know, predictions that
- 2:51Speaker 1: we nailed right on the head as usual, So it's
- 2:54Speaker 1: time to bring back one of our most populous segments
- 2:57Speaker 1: where we go over everything that we nailed on the head.
- 3:00Speaker 1: It's where Polly and Tony were right. Where Polly and
- 3:04Speaker 1: Tony were right, all right, the first thing that we
- 3:09Speaker 1: nailed bango on the head. You know, we've been saying
- 3:11Speaker 1: this for years, Tony, abeque college quarterbacks are simply too
- 3:15Speaker 1: young to handle all that pressure. Well, finally a team
- 3:19Speaker 1: is listening to us, taking our advice. The Georgia Bulldogs
- 3:23Speaker 1: who are now going all the way to the College
- 3:24Speaker 1: football Championship behind their twenty five year old quarterback Stetson Bennett.
- 3:29Speaker 1: And you know, Tony, this comes as absolutely no surprise
- 3:33Speaker 1: to us. You know, we've stayed it for years. The
- 3:36Speaker 1: most valuable trait a quarterback can have is experience, right,
- 3:41Speaker 1: and that's why we've never understood why these colleges keep
- 3:45Speaker 1: going out and finding quarterbacks who have never played any
- 3:48Speaker 1: college football makes no sense. Wouldn't it be smarter to
- 3:52Speaker 1: bring in a more experienced quarterback, you know, someone who's
- 3:55Speaker 1: been in college for maybe six or seven years. Isn't
- 3:57Speaker 1: that right? Tony? Absolutely? You know, I've never understood why
- 4:02Speaker 1: these colleges put so much pressure on their students to graduate.
- 4:06Speaker 1: From a strategic point of view, what don't you want
- 4:09Speaker 1: your players to fail two or three years so you
- 4:11Speaker 1: can have a team of NFL ready twenty seven year olds.
- 4:15Speaker 1: That makes a lot more sense to me. Terrific point, Donty,
- 4:20Speaker 1: Where Pauli and Don were right? All right? Another thing
- 4:24Speaker 1: we got totally right. Even though this is kind of
- 4:26Speaker 1: a downer. You know, we said when Nick Falls went
- 4:29Speaker 1: to the Colts that it was certainly not going to
- 4:32Speaker 1: go as well as it did when he was with
- 4:34Speaker 1: the Eagles, and Sherlock called it. We were one hundred
- 4:37Speaker 1: percent right about that, don't you know? Just two games
- 4:40Speaker 1: into his stots there, you know, first he started on
- 4:43Speaker 1: Christmas versus the Chargers. Then he goes up against the
- 4:45Speaker 1: Giants and he goes down with a season ending injury.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Now people are saying, oh, well, you know this is
- 4:52Speaker 1: Nick falls. He's injury prone. You know, it's just a
- 4:55Speaker 1: story of his whole career. You know, he gets injured
- 4:58Speaker 1: literally every season. You know, people, these people they're just
- 5:01Speaker 1: trying to distract from the real story, aren't They don't
- 5:05Speaker 1: one hundred percent. Don't let the media fool you. This
- 5:09Speaker 1: is all on the Cults. You know. I've consulted several
- 5:13Speaker 1: attorneys in the Tristate area and they unanimously agree that
- 5:17Speaker 1: Nick Foles should sue the Cults from malpractice and other
- 5:21Speaker 1: labor violations and malfeacencies. First of all, the Cults organization
- 5:26Speaker 1: forced him to work over the holidays, which is unfair
- 5:30Speaker 1: labor practices, and in any business, employees with his level
- 5:35Speaker 1: of seniority always get the holidays off. Second, the Cults
- 5:39Speaker 1: spent more than forty two million dollars on their offensive
- 5:43Speaker 1: line this offseason. Now they've allowed the second most sex
- 5:47Speaker 1: in the entire NFL. So we have to ask where'd
- 5:50Speaker 1: that money go? If I'm Nick Foles, I'm hiring a
- 5:54Speaker 1: third party investigated to find out because it's clearly a
- 5:58Speaker 1: case of corporate malfeacency. Just absolutely terrific journalism there by you, Tony,
- 6:07Speaker 1: all your kids out there, you know, watching, want to
- 6:10Speaker 1: know how do you get how do you get big
- 6:11Speaker 1: in this business? Yeah, that's that's what you call research
- 6:14Speaker 1: and not YEA great job, Tony, thank you. Where Paulie
- 6:19Speaker 1: and Tony were right final one here. You know, when
- 6:23Speaker 1: the Washington Commanders decided to buck a troubling NFL trend
- 6:28Speaker 1: of teams hiring babies to be head coaches, and they
- 6:32Speaker 1: went out and hired veteran Ron Rivera. We were basically
- 6:35Speaker 1: the only people who applauded the decision, right because we
- 6:40Speaker 1: know that few people know more about football and what's
- 6:43Speaker 1: going on in the sport than Ron Rivera. And well,
- 6:47Speaker 1: this week, Ron Rivera came under fire because at the
- 6:51Speaker 1: team's postgame pressa after that loss to the Browns, Ron
- 6:54Speaker 1: Rivera appeared to be unaware that his team might be
- 6:58Speaker 1: about to get eliminated from playoff contention, now people are saying, oh,
- 7:03Speaker 1: this is the shows. Rivera is at a touch, you
- 7:06Speaker 1: know whatever. Confused, But Tony, those people are totally raw,
- 7:12Speaker 1: aren't they? Absolutely? In fact, I've never understood why coaches
- 7:17Speaker 1: ever tell their players they could be eliminated from the playoffs.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Wouldn't they be happy if they didn't know they could
- 7:23Speaker 1: be eliminated. Wouldn't it be better to dupe them into
- 7:26Speaker 1: thinking they still had a chance at a Super Bowl?
- 7:29Speaker 1: I mean, did you see how well the Broncos played
- 7:32Speaker 1: against the Chiefs. Clearly their new coach didn't tell them
- 7:35Speaker 1: that they literally had zero chance of making the playoffs
- 7:39Speaker 1: and that they would be better off forfeitting the game.
- 7:41Speaker 1: And it worked one days. Great points, Tony, all around,
- 7:47Speaker 1: just thank you, terrific. And you know, on the subject
- 7:50Speaker 1: of a team going to the playoffs, we're gonna discuss
- 7:54Speaker 1: the Eagles and Dug that two great quarterbacks with an
- 7:58Speaker 1: okay quarterback who's coming on the line right now, So
- 8:01Speaker 1: let's bring him on the FUSCO satellite network. All right,
- 8:08Speaker 1: this guy, you know, took the Patriots to the Super
- 8:11Speaker 1: Bowl ninety six. You know, lost to the Packers. Got
- 8:14Speaker 1: a ring with them two in two thousand and one. Debatable,
- 8:17Speaker 1: you know, fourth time Pro Bowl and number one overall.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Pick YadA YadA. Let's just get him in here, Drew Bledsoe.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Welcome to the show. Welcome. What's happening, guys? How's it going? Well?
- 8:27Speaker 1: You know, we brought you on for a few reasons.
- 8:29Speaker 1: You know we're gonna start with the main one of course,
- 8:31Speaker 1: that has everyone talking. You know, you went to Washington State.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Of course, just like Eagles backup quarterback garden A Minshew. Now,
- 8:38Speaker 1: you know Baseball are saying these morons out there that
- 8:41Speaker 1: minshow isn't good because he lost his two games as
- 8:44Speaker 1: a starter. But you know, we went and compared his
- 8:47Speaker 1: stats to yours, and let's just say he blows you
- 8:49Speaker 1: out of the water in virtually every category. Let me
- 8:52Speaker 1: just read a couple of them to you. Here's a
- 8:54Speaker 1: career passer rating of ninety three point two. Yours was
- 8:57Speaker 1: a lowly seventy seven point one. Minshew's completion percentage UH
- 9:02Speaker 1: sixty two point eight, yours ouch fifty seven point two.
- 9:07Speaker 1: You know, people seem to respect you for some reason.
- 9:10Speaker 1: But when you hear that, don't you agree that Minshew
- 9:13Speaker 1: is a better QB than you ever were, and you
- 9:15Speaker 1: know deserves more respect and acclaim like you know more
- 9:18Speaker 1: than you Well, I mean, I understand your your your argument,
- 9:22Speaker 1: and I appreciate your ire. Uh sorry, I won't use
- 9:27Speaker 1: I won't use complicated words. Um, I appreciate your dislike.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I've got a few complicated words to describe, you know,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and I will I will tell you that. I mean,
- 9:37Speaker 1: just on mustache alone. You know, Gardners he's doing he's
- 9:41Speaker 1: doing pretty good. I see where you're going with this.
- 9:44Speaker 1: You want to take it? Don't change change the subject here. Yeah, yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 1: you know we're not here. This is not the facial
- 9:50Speaker 1: hair hour. So let's talk. Let's talk. Let's be a professional. Yeah,
- 9:54Speaker 1: numbers to numbers and Gardner's Gardener's playing awfully well, man,
- 9:59Speaker 1: I'm proud of them. Um, I will tell you that
- 10:02Speaker 1: things are a little more difficult when a team earns
- 10:05Speaker 1: the right to pick first overall. Uh, there's a little
- 10:08Speaker 1: bit of a learning curve there for the whole team.
- 10:10Speaker 1: So that's my excuse. But yeah, Gardner definitely best quarterback
- 10:14Speaker 1: ever to come out of Washington State. I would agree
- 10:16Speaker 1: with that. Excuse me, are you drinking wine right now
- 10:19Speaker 1: on this podcast? Wow? You're drinking show? This is my business?
- 10:25Speaker 1: Now where are you right now? I'm working? See you guys.
- 10:28Speaker 1: You guys get on here and talk shit for work.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I drink wine for work. So you know I'm actually
- 10:33Speaker 1: you coming. You know this explains your completion percentage. I
- 10:35Speaker 1: bet you were drinking up a storm when you showed
- 10:38Speaker 1: up back then in the in the gator I didn't
- 10:45Speaker 1: know Gatorade made a pino. Yeah, maybe a little less malot.
- 10:49Speaker 1: You would have had to hire a passer rade eight
- 10:51Speaker 1: of those receivers there. All right, Well, you know, let's
- 10:54Speaker 1: that's totally fair today. But but if anybody can play sober,
- 10:57Speaker 1: let's just call it what it is. You know, you
- 11:00Speaker 1: can take the field and play when you're a little
- 11:02Speaker 1: bit hammered. You know, you know that's that's a badger response.
- 11:06Speaker 1: He's making a joke. Typical you're making excuses for yourself
- 11:10Speaker 1: in that's you know what you do. Uh, but let
- 11:13Speaker 1: you know that's fair. Yeah, talking about excuses. You know,
- 11:16Speaker 1: people are you know, you got injured, but really, you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: outplayed by Tom Brady, right, that's why you lost your job. There,
- 11:23Speaker 1: you know, let's go into that because we've always wanted
- 11:26Speaker 1: to ask you. Are you familiar with the Nancy Kerrigan
- 11:29Speaker 1: Tanya Harding situation there? Did you ever think that maybe
- 11:33Speaker 1: Tom Brady Jeff Galuidal, Yeah, I think he might have
- 11:38Speaker 1: been inhouse with Lewis. Yeah, put the hit on you
- 11:43Speaker 1: there you go, Yeah, exactly. I need you to legit
- 11:47Speaker 1: kill this guy so that I can get on the field.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And yeah, we saw Tom Brady. You see the film.
- 11:52Speaker 1: He's winking, he came, he came really close. Yeah. No,
- 11:55Speaker 1: I think you guys are onto something. You know. I
- 11:59Speaker 1: try to, you know, prosecute him, take him to the investigation.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I think I was taken out on purpose. Well, there
- 12:05Speaker 1: you go, people, this is huge journalism, good journalism. I
- 12:10Speaker 1: think he might be three sheets to the wind because
- 12:12Speaker 1: I think that's probably his eighth glass of wine. So
- 12:15Speaker 1: who knows here? What's going exactly? Well, it's afternoon, It's
- 12:20Speaker 1: well afternoon. I mean, you know, I mean you can't
- 12:22Speaker 1: drink wine all day and know that. All right, this
- 12:26Speaker 1: is getting a little too serious. Yeah, let's bring it
- 12:28Speaker 1: back in day, all right, we'll deal with your personal
- 12:31Speaker 1: problems off, you know, but you know, let's just talk
- 12:34Speaker 1: about something. This maybe a little complex for you because
- 12:37Speaker 1: you know you I don't know how many you know
- 12:40Speaker 1: how clearly you're thinking right now, but you think I've
- 12:43Speaker 1: always wanted to ask you. You seem to have a
- 12:46Speaker 1: little bit and it's about you there. Do you think
- 12:48Speaker 1: you have a chip on your shoulder because a lot
- 12:50Speaker 1: of teams dumped you for a better QB. You know,
- 12:53Speaker 1: Patriots for Tom Brady, Cowboys for Romo you know much
- 12:56Speaker 1: better than you, Bills for Ryan Fitzpatrick, long terrific career, Tony, Tony,
- 13:02Speaker 1: just tell him your theory. Listen to this, Drew, Listen, Yeah, Drew,
- 13:05Speaker 1: have you ever seen the movie Dane with Dane Cook
- 13:09Speaker 1: good Luck Chuck. In that movie, which is terrific, Dane
- 13:13Speaker 1: Cook plays a guy who he dates women and the
- 13:17Speaker 1: women wind up me and their husband's after dumping him.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Would you say then that you're kind of the good
- 13:24Speaker 1: Luck Chuck of the NFL terrifically put down? That's uh,
- 13:28Speaker 1: that's well, First of all, I haven't seen that movie.
- 13:32Speaker 1: It's a great movie that's on your Yeah, yeah, you're right.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I think you might be of one of seven people
- 13:38Speaker 1: that actually saw that movie. You're insulting Dane Cook respects good.
- 13:42Speaker 1: That's good numbers for Dan Cook though. Uh yeah, you know, yeah,
- 13:47Speaker 1: you might be onto something. You know that they bring
- 13:48Speaker 1: me in. Let me, I'm sort of the set up
- 13:50Speaker 1: guy to to get these guys ready to go and
- 13:53Speaker 1: then uh, you know, and then I you know, go
- 13:55Speaker 1: to the hospital or have a bad game, and then yeah,
- 13:58Speaker 1: you might be honest. See that's what we see on
- 14:01Speaker 1: this show. We give professional career advice, you know. Yea,
- 14:03Speaker 1: so maybe we are thinking maybe this is a good
- 14:05Speaker 1: lane for you. Don't you think a team should sign
- 14:08Speaker 1: you right and then dump you so then they can
- 14:11Speaker 1: find they're much better QB. Wouldn't that be like a
- 14:14Speaker 1: selling point for you. You can still full off, you
- 14:17Speaker 1: can still come back. That'd be great, especially but you know,
- 14:20Speaker 1: with what quarterbacks are making these days, you know, signed
- 14:22Speaker 1: me for you know, for a you know, ten twelve fifty,
- 14:26Speaker 1: I don't know what's you know, thirty forty million dollars
- 14:29Speaker 1: and then you can fire me right away. Yeah, exactly.
- 14:39Speaker 1: He's taken another sip hit Tony. I you know, I
- 14:41Speaker 1: can't judge. Wow, very unprofessionally think he might pass out
- 14:45Speaker 1: at any point here, we better yeah, we better get
- 14:48Speaker 1: the rest. Get to another topic here. You know, as
- 14:50Speaker 1: we go through some of the mistakes you've made in
- 14:52Speaker 1: your career, and you fail to obviously admit though you
- 14:55Speaker 1: know you were very young coming out of college, weren't
- 14:57Speaker 1: you probably too young? Actually? You know, Yeah, way to
- 15:00Speaker 1: your youngest QB ever to play in the Pro Bowl,
- 15:03Speaker 1: which just shows you more proof than wait till young
- 15:07Speaker 1: should didn't really belong. Do you think that worked against you?
- 15:10Speaker 1: Because let me ask you this. You look at Georgia
- 15:13Speaker 1: QB Stetson Dennett, Right, he's twenty five, He's experienced stuff
- 15:17Speaker 1: like that. When he gets to the league, he's gonna
- 15:19Speaker 1: be ready to dominate. So you know, got don't you
- 15:22Speaker 1: think maybe you should have stayed in college a little
- 15:24Speaker 1: longer so you'd be better in the NFL and college
- 15:28Speaker 1: to where you weren't that great? Yeah, probably probably should have.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I think it was my eighth year we played against
- 15:35Speaker 1: the Carolina Panthers against Chris wink You had won the
- 15:39Speaker 1: Heisman the year before. He was a rookie and I
- 15:42Speaker 1: was in my eighth year, so you know, obviously he
- 15:45Speaker 1: had a lot more experience before he broke into the NFL,
- 15:47Speaker 1: and I did turn I did celebrate my twenty first
- 15:50Speaker 1: birthday at the at Hooters in Indianapolis at the scouting
- 15:53Speaker 1: combine though, So so you know that was obviously a
- 15:56Speaker 1: magical time in life. Anytime you can spend time after
- 15:58Speaker 1: the wine talking ball. Yeah, he's clean, I mean it,
- 16:04Speaker 1: you know, so you know there there is that. You know,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I got to experience that. Who won the game? Between
- 16:09Speaker 1: you and Winky? Stay on subjects, stop getting distracted within
- 16:15Speaker 1: it might it might even have been a priest using game.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I'm not but you left out that key detail. Yeah, exactly.
- 16:22Speaker 1: You're trying to put down Chris Winky. You think Chris
- 16:24Speaker 1: Wink he takes ladies and gentlemen sip number forty nine
- 16:28Speaker 1: in this interview. You know what, I just don't get
- 16:31Speaker 1: that you're serious here. So let's just put it on
- 16:34Speaker 1: the line here. Let's just see if you can be
- 16:36Speaker 1: a man and talk straight. You look at Gardner Minshew,
- 16:40Speaker 1: and you look at yourself. Wouldn't you admit that Gardner
- 16:43Speaker 1: Minshew's the better QB, the best quarterback to come out
- 16:47Speaker 1: of Washington State, and possibly the entire pech twelve. Come on,
- 16:50Speaker 1: save some face here and just admit it for everyone. Yeah, no,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I I think I might actually have to agree with you.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I mean, Gardner's you know, with the body he's put
- 17:00Speaker 1: together in his in his young career. Um, but I
- 17:04Speaker 1: also think you know, he did have the benefit of
- 17:06Speaker 1: going to uh he got to play for three different colleges,
- 17:09Speaker 1: so he had a lot of experience, you know, coming
- 17:12Speaker 1: out of the league. So how many colleges do you
- 17:13Speaker 1: play for? Yeah, I only only only one, only one,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and only because you weren't in his high demand has
- 17:20Speaker 1: gotten a min show, Yeah, exactly, everybody wanted, so I
- 17:24Speaker 1: just didn't. I had to. I had to get out
- 17:27Speaker 1: of there after two and a half years because no
- 17:29Speaker 1: other colleges wanted me. There you go, and you want
- 17:32Speaker 1: to know why, because you were too young. So just
- 17:34Speaker 1: admit it. Say I was too young and I should
- 17:37Speaker 1: have stayed in college till I was twenty five, like
- 17:39Speaker 1: Stetson Bennett, go, I should have. I could have, you know,
- 17:42Speaker 1: then I could I could have come out of school
- 17:44Speaker 1: with my doctorate and then I wouldn't even have had
