- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:29Good morning from the the very noisy Chicken Coop.
- 0:33They are all making noise today, it's chilly, maybe that's what's
- 0:38got them going? I'm not sure.
- 0:39Anyway, so today we are talking about hitting the reset button
- 0:44today. Is Sunday, when I'm recording
- 0:47this and I want, I want to point out how important hitting a
- 0:52reset button is so for me, when I was a kid, Sunday was
- 0:57definitely a day when everybody in my family.
- 1:00Kind of wild down. Everybody was in that, like
- 1:04relaxed mode. I can remember my mother sitting
- 1:07and doing her needlepoint. I can remember her crocheting,
- 1:11she cruciate a lot in the evenings anyway, but Sunday was
- 1:14a day, when she would definitely, we would go to get
- 1:18up, go to church, come home, and I would go to dinner with my
- 1:22grandmother and my grandfather at their house.
- 1:25My parents never went, I'm not sure why they're Dynamic.
- 1:29Was that way? My mother and father rarely went
- 1:33to my grandmother's to eat. I went all the time probably
- 1:35because my grandfather and my grandmother didn't get along
- 1:38with my dad, so that was a long-standing dynamic.
- 1:43Anyway, I would go and then I would come home.
- 1:47And even when I was there, my grandparents always took time to
- 1:50work on whatever they were working on for their Hobbies.
- 1:53I was always drawing and painting and doing things.
- 1:57I lose to love to paint my grandmother's nails and she
- 2:00would love For me to paint her nails, there was always time for
- 2:05that reading. I can remember sitting with my
- 2:07grandpa grandpa on his lap and reading and he would read
- 2:12stories to me that were far beyond my scope of reading on my
- 2:17own when I was very little, but he would read to me anyway, and
- 2:20tell me things and it was, it was so much fun and the whole
- 2:24hitting the reset button is the purpose of this.
- 2:27So, Sunday's were supposed to be a day where you actually Lee
- 2:31rested, right? It's in the Bible, it's in the
- 2:34Bible, people, but we have become so rigid with our
- 2:39schedules during the week. In our work schedules, that
- 2:42often Sunday's have become a day of chores to get caught up.
- 2:46Oh, I've got to run out, I've got to do all my chores today,
- 2:49I've got to, you know, maybe go to Costco, although it is one of
- 2:52my favorite places on the planet to go.
- 2:54I have to admit that it's, it may be a run there, it may be
- 2:58going to the grocery store and maybe dropping.
- 3:00Off, you know, things a cleaner, it may be doing sitting down and
- 3:06paying bills, you know, doing these things on a Sunday steals
- 3:12away the joy of taking the time to rest.
- 3:15It genuinely steals away the joy of taking the time to rest.
- 3:19And I think that as a society, we have become conditioned to no
- 3:24longer rest, we have become conditioned to just constantly
- 3:29be grinding it out. And that is not the way to have
- 3:32a healthy mind. It is certainly not the way to
- 3:35have a healthy body because it is programmed into us.
- 3:38I'll prove this to you right now.
- 3:40You sleep everyday. Well, hopefully, you sleep every
- 3:42day and that's the other part. Some of us are so stressed out.
- 3:44We don't even sleep every day because we can't set the reset
- 3:47button. So hitting that button and
- 3:51saying, nope, today is a day of nothingness.
- 3:53Today is a day of absolute. I get to do whatever I want day
- 3:58now for me, my chickens. Huge reset.
- 4:02Now you might say, well, you have to care for them.
- 4:04You have to go out there. You have to do this, yes, but I
- 4:06get joy from this. I absolutely have the utmost of
- 4:10the pleasure and coming out. I don't have to care for them.
- 4:13I want to care for them. I have complete joy in watching
- 4:18them and taking care of them and doing things for them.
- 4:21They make me happy. So, I don't get to Garden.
- 4:26I mean, I don't have to Garden, I get to Garden, you know, it's
- 4:29one of those things that I love so much.
- 4:30Much. I get to do this and it's so
- 4:34much fun. I love watching flowers.
- 4:38Come up from nothing. The thought of seeds brings me
- 4:41so much joy. I could sit forever and plan out
- 4:44my garden is that work? No, is working in my garden
- 4:47work. No.
- 4:48Not the traditional kind of work even with my clients.
- 4:52I've really cultivated it. So I love my clients so much
- 4:56that I don't mind talking to them, they are not work to me.
- 5:00They are part of my world, it's part of my gifts.
- 5:05I don't have a stressor around it so at the end of the week
- 5:10it's it's a little bit easier. When you look back and you say,
- 5:14when you cultivated things like this, you can look back and say
- 5:17well my week wasn't really work, my week was all about you know,
- 5:21adding that value to life in general that I have.
- 5:24And that's what's so fun. If you're not at that point yet
- 5:28I encourage you to work towards that.
- 5:30Look for the things that you can do during the week and turn them
- 5:33into the, I get to, instead of I have to.
- 5:37And then for the weekends hitting these reset buttons.
- 5:40Oh, so important. If you don't make the time to do
- 5:44it, nobody will give you the time to do it.
- 5:47So, I will tell you this, the most important aspect of this,
- 5:51that you could do is try to find these little things every day.
- 5:54It's just like me out here every morning with you.
- 5:57This is a reset button for me. Imagine what this does for me.
- 6:00They doing this with them for you everyday.
- 6:05It plugs me in every day, I started off.
- 6:07Not to mention. I have my own little rituals
- 6:09that I do that. Help me do that.
- 6:11So it's critically important that you work on this.
- 6:14Hitting the reset button as many times as you can, but on Sundays
- 6:19really do it power down force yourself to take a break.
- 6:23I promise you'll feel better. And if you look at your schedule
- 6:26and you say okay, where can I do this?
- 6:28Instead, you'll always find those little places that you You
- 6:30can like, often. I will say, okay, on a Thursday
- 6:33night after I finish with clients, I will run and I will
- 6:36do those chores of grocery shopping and Costco so that I
- 6:39have clear days and I might not always like doing it in the
- 6:42moment because I'm like, oh, I'm tired, but I will always feel
- 6:46better about it the next day. So I hope you guys have a
- 6:49blessed day and a relaxed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 6:52Bye. You can like, often.
- 6:31I will say, okay, on a Thursday night after I finish with
- 6:35clients, I will run and I will do those chores of grocery
- 6:38shopping and Costco so that I have clear days and I might not
- 6:41always like doing it in the moment because I'm like, oh, I'm
- 6:44tired, but I will always feel better about it the next day.
- 6:48So I hope you guys have a blessed day and a relaxed day
- 6:51and I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
